Guests
No recurring guests are interviewed in this transcript. Hosts are Christy and Sophie (podcast cohosts). Mentioned but not as guests: Ariana Beerman, Georgia, Charlie, Amira, Riley, Maddie Pruitt (Next Gen NYC cast); Stassi Schroeder, Katie Maloney, Christina Kelly (House of Stassi/VPR); Amanda Stanton (Bachelor/BIP); Nick and Alandria (Love Island); David (rapper); Aisha Collins (mutual-friend rumor).
Key claims
House of Stassi is “contrived” and Stassi is criticized for past racism/Me Too-related comments and other controversies. Amanda Stanton’s hydration-room IV story is framed as hypocritical given her long history of posting underage children online; also she’s criticized for prior domestic-violence-related press. Next Gen NYC is praised as “genuine,” with trailer rumors that Ariana and Charlie hook up; Charlie’s behavior includes transphobic-invalidating insinuations. Nicolandria’s breakup is portrayed as PR; rumors include Nick dating “Molly” and Alandria linked to Travis Scott. A darker claim ties Nick to rapper David via a mutual friend and alleged timeline overlap around David’s crimes.
Notable examples
Stassi calling out “Black people” making a stink; Amanda’s kids getting IVs/GLP-1s at a med spa; Next Gen NYC: Riley blackout-drunk confrontation of Georgia; Charlie “gay man so can’t flirt” remark about Amira’s boyfriend; Nicolandria: TikTok “rumors are true” breakup statement; David’s alleged pregnancy/abortion timeline involving Celeste Hernandez.

2:18I'm Christy. I'm Sophie. It's another Dark Energy Tuesday. We got so much on the docket, lots to talk about. But before we do that, Sophie, how was your weekend at the shore? It was great. We had perfect weather at the shore this weekend, so it was very nice, very relaxing. I'm reading a really good book called Count My Lies. I'm always reading books about like a female talented Mr. Ripley. Like it's always like some woman who lies her way into like a good looking wealthy couple's life. You know, she's like, I'm going to be their nanny or their housemaid and blah, blah, blah. And I'm hiding a dark past.
2:56I love books like that. It's the same formula every time. I'm actually also reading a thriller. And now I can't for the life of me remember it. And I'm in a new setup if you guys are on YouTube because my sister is living at my house. So I'm at my mom. So I don't have my normal setup. So I'm very disoriented right now. And my phone is over there as my light source. So I can't check. But in any case, it's about this girl who witnessed a family annihilation. Oh. Like the book starts off really strong. Basically, she's hiding in a basement because her sister tells her to because this man is attacking their entire family.
3:27And she escapes by God's grace. And then it fast forwards in chapter two as to where she is today, 20 years later. And her half-brother, who was a part of the massacre, who was severely injured but survived the massacre, was tried and incarcerated for the death of her entire family. But now the brother is being released from prison today. And now she's having to deal with the fact that, like, did her brother do it? Did he not? And another whole thing is her sister, who told her to hide in the basement, has been missing ever since that night. It's really good. Well, you need to remember the name.
3:59It's not Dark Places by Gillian Flynn, is it? It's not a Gillian Flynn novel. It's something different. Because it sounds like I read Dark Places forever ago. Obviously, Jillian Flynn is like the goat. Yeah. But it sounds kind of similar to the plot of that book. Anyway, how was your weekend? So your sister's in town? Yes. So my sister came to town. Miss Mo and my brother-in-law. So I've been very busy doing family activity all weekend. Aw, so fun. Yeah. But no, I was like telling Sophie and I was telling my audience, like the last has been has absolutely wrecked my shit. I'm going to be honest.
4:36It has been quite the last couple of weeks for me. And I've been dealing with like high anxiety, high stress, low-key kind of like a bit of a depression, if I'm going to be honest. You also have been dealing with a lot of like stress at work at your full-time job. Yeah. And just so every like I just want to remind everyone that this isn't our full-time job, you know, like it's you have a very stressful job. Yeah. And even beyond that, I think I need to deal with my stress a little bit better. I have just been like feeling it physically and emotionally and then this week it really came to a head and I just obviously I'm like not at my home right now so I haven't been like in my normal space either so I feel like my brain is out of sorts.
5:15Yeah it's a little bit out of sorts and I just kind of I don't know like I found out that mercury was retrograding and it recently ended last week and maybe I'm just going to blame that but I just genuinely been going through it. yeah I think that's a valid uh thing to blame mercury in retrograde hopefully now that it's not in retrograde anymore we can go back to our normal lives yeah yeah I look forward to kind of getting my getting my life together but if you guys have getting your sparkle back yeah my sparkle date night but if anyone has any tips and tricks uh on how to kind of get over a slump it was funny I put an Instagram story up and there are people that were so funny they're like smoking and then like the next reel, a cigarette to be clear.
5:59Then there was smoke a fat blunt, drink wine. And other people were like, as a fellow Pisces, I am deeply also disturbed by life recently. And so that made me feel less alone, but I'm feeling all the emotions recently. So please send good thoughts your way, my way. Yeah, definitely send your tips, you guys, to Christy. But yeah, some astrological signs are hit harder by certain retrogrades. I don't know enough about like astrology but like this could be one where pisces were hit a little bit harder um but thinking of you per usual thank you um here for you and that one demi lovato song oh that sounded like anastasia oh no i was i'm happy to know that i am um okay well the other thing that sophie did that she was working not only was she at the shore but she was working this weekend she took really like aesthetic like amazing pick for our shop for our merch because oh yeah you guys that's a cool story for another day it's a whole thing like we have very limited supply of some of our merch that we got and it's just been such a nightmare that we're like let's um let's sell the rest and we have not set anything up yet we are going to but henry was my photographer and took some pictures of me in some of our merch.
7:20But yeah, stay tuned for that. We have very limited supply and it's a one and done thing because it's just been really, like I said, not our full-time job, unfortunately. We would love for Snarkwave to be our full-time job, but it's just been really, really, really hard, the merch situation. As you guys know, we've complained about it endlessly for as long as you guys have been listening. We're like, yeah, merch. You followed our whole journey where we're like, let's do merch. And then we're like, guys, merch is really hard. Merch is fucking horrible. We're never doing merch ever again. Never again.
7:50We're going to stick to what we're good at. Which is talking and yapping and talking shit. But a quick plug for merch. So my sister's living at my house and she's like using all my things. And she is using the snarky pink water bottle. She's like literally obsessed. I'm like, no, no, no. It's like not a joke. That water bottle is actually so legit. It's really good. I love that water bottle. I use it all. I actually was using it just now, but I forgot to bring it to my desk to have next to me. So now I don't have water next to me during my recording, which is great. But should we jump in? Yeah, let's jump right in.
8:21What do you want to start with? I want to talk really quickly about the House of Stassi trailer. What did you think of this trailer? Yeah, I OK, two things. Number one, I remember when this it was first talked about that she was having a show on Hulu and everyone was like, oh, including us. I'm not watching this. Of course, me watching the trailer, I'm like, I could fuck with it. Like, I hate that I'm saying that. Number two, I'm not going to, even though I could fuck with it and it looks interesting to me. Just by principle, I'm not watching it. What about you? I'm not watching it out of principle.
8:53And I said this, we have a live chat with our tier two patrons. So we were talking about it over there on Patreon. And I was like, I have so many thoughts about it. Even watching the trailer, I was like, Stassi is not the reality star that she used to be. She was an incredible 20-something waiter. Now she is so contrived. She tries so hard. She's obviously, she's made being basic her entire thing, but like she is. Like she's just basic and boring to me now. And I say this, you guys know, I used to ride so hard for Stassi. It was a diehard Stassi stan back in the early Vanderpump days. She's just contrived and boring to me now.
9:28So there's that. There's also the fact that, and I'm glad that people are calling this out because I feel like people have kind of forgotten over the years why Stassi got fired from Vanderpump. Right. She called the police on her black castmate for something she didn't do. And we're talking about, in my opinion, an unrepentant racist and a rape apologist. If you guys don't remember her Me Too comments that I have not forgotten, we have a whole Stassi deep dive. So people are like, why are you giving an unrepentant racist their own show, right? So people are calling it out, which I agree with. And then outside of that, it's like she's not even entertaining to me anymore.
10:06I will say that the Katie Maloney casting choice is inspired. like so many people want to see what katie has been up to they like the dynamic of katie and stassi and even like christina kelly like i get that um i'm still not like i watched the trailer and i was like this all seems again so contrived like it just doesn't seem real i feel like her life is boring now which is good she's like a mom and she has kids and she is a husband whatever like it's good good for her but it's not like reality show material in my opinion yeah i feel like the only way that i might tune in is if i succumb to peer pressure and everyone is talking about it, like all of the Bravo accounts and everyone is talking about it.
10:43But I don't think that's going to happen personally. I know that she is a cult following. She does. And I was going to say, adding on to her list of the grievances that I have with her, never forget, I think this is around like 2017, 2018. And we do a whole Stassi episode, you guys. Sophie walked us through like start to finish her entire scandal. But just a quick reminder that when the Oscars happened and Black actors were basically saying how they've been like unfairly treated throughout like decades of award ceremonies. Stassi made it a point on her podcast, and I literally remember listening to this episode because I used to listen to her podcast.
11:15She was like, why is it always Black people that's like making a stink about everything? Why don't you ever hear from like Latinos or Asian people? Like Black people always want to make it about themselves. Like she's been, she's had a history of publicly dismissing the trials and tribulations faced by the Black community. And then to her point, talking about how no guy could ever make her suck a dick and basically victim blaming. Talking about Harvey Weinstein. Yeah. And then also remember her Nazi chic photo shoot. Yeah. And it's if she weren't like a pretty white blonde lady who also didn't profit off of all of her cancellations by making a second sophomore novel called Off With Her Head talking about her cancellations.
11:54Not owning up to the fact that I guess she like tried to approach Faith and apologize for what she did. But it's like, dude, you were horrible to Faith. You could have gotten her military benefits revoked by making a stupid phone call to the police when you knew for a fact that black woman was not Faith who was stealing from that bank or whatever the fuck. She's just not a good person. And I'm sorry to your point. I don't care about your husband and your kids. Like, I love that you have a great life. I don't really care to see that. It's not good TV. It's not good TV. And at the same time, I was going to say that if she were to be on any reality TV show, maybe put her on the ballet just because she just her lifestyle allows for that.
12:27And the history she has with the cast. But like, I don't. Am I supposed to care about Taylor Strecker? Like, that's a genuine question. Like, am I so I don't listen to doesn't she have a podcast? I don't listen to her. Like, am I supposed to care about her? Well, she's making you. And at this point, I was also going to say that I don't know what hold she has on Hulu. But remember when she did the official Tell Me Lies podcast? She hosted Secret Lives of Mormon Wives reunion. Yeah. She has some kind of like agreement with Hulu where they need to put her out on at least like three shows annually.
12:55Yeah, they're trying to make her like the next big thing. And I don't fully understand like the chokehold she has because she wasn't, I didn't listen to the Tell Me Lies podcast, but her hosting it was not a selling point to me as a Vanderpump Rules historian. And then also, she was not a good host of the Secret Lives reunion at all. She was pretty much unanimously panned as a host. And then with her show, like, I understand that she has like a cult following. I think that's what it is. They're trying to pander to her diehard stans, which I understand. I'm just not, I guess I'm just not one of them anymore.
13:32But I also feel like if anyone were to be her diehard stans, it would be you and I only, just because we've been Vanderpump Rules historians for as long as we have. VPR fans who actually still is a saucy fan, like genuinely. After everything, that's what I'm very curious about. It's like who, like you're right. Like OG VPR fans like us, millennial women who grew up watching her, you would think, but she has done so many things that have offended so many people, including myself, that I'm like, I can't. And I just, it's not even like a thing where it's like, you know, I feel so betrayed or I feel so, you know, it hurts my heart that I can't stay on her anymore.
14:10I just don't care about her anymore. That's the other thing. It's like she's boring. She's not interesting. She's basic. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh to the saucy stans listening, but like I just I cannot believe she's getting her own show. I'm actually flabbergasted by it, but I'm very curious if you guys are going to watch. Yeah, I'm excited to see from our business funders channel on Patreon, like for those that do watch it, if they tell us it's worth watching because I trust them. And if they say this is actually kind of good and you guys should tune in. OK, maybe I'll give it a listen simply for like the show and for us to recap.
14:38maybe, but by principle, I will not be watching unless it's really salacious and I need to. Yeah. If all the Bravo accounts, like if I start getting FOMO, but even then, I don't know. So we'll see. I'm curious though. Let us know, you guys. Are you going to watch? Speaking of problematic influencers, I really want to talk about Amanda Sanson. She was one of the contestants on Ben Higgins' season of The Bachelor. This was when The Bachelor was in its heyday. I feel like Ben Higgins' season, this was probably back in like 15. This is the first season that we as a community, that the Bachelor Nation franchise really started to see legitimate influencers coming out of this franchise.
15:14And I feel like that was really the sticking point between reality shows pre-social media and post-social media. So if you guys remember Ben Higgins' season, he included people on that season like Becca Tilly, Lauren Lane, Amanda Stanton, Olivia Caridi. Who else? I mean, JoJo Fletcher. No, wait, JoJo. He was on JoJo's season. No, no, no. Oh, no, remember he told JoJo and Lauren he was in love with both of them, and then JoJo became the Bachelorette. Oh, you're right. Oh, my God. He was before JoJo. Who's season? Oh, he was on Caitlyn's season. Caitlyn's season. That's right. That's right. That's right.
15:45Yeah. So I remember Ben Higgins' season being iconic, and interestingly enough, I re-watched the entire season. Like, back in 2019, it still sticks. It's an incredible season, and Amanda Santon had a really, really favorable edit because I found that a lot of single mothers that would go onto The Bachelor show, Remember, we're pandering to like a very Christian, Midwestern type of community. It's a very Christian-leaning type show, conservative values. She was a single mother who was a divorcee, and she had two young children, and everyone really loved Amanda for her vulnerability and her ability to find love again, even after having two kids.
16:18And basically, she's had a lot of like weird press surrounding her after the show ended. Do you remember back in like 2018, 2019, she was dating this guy named Bobby, and they were in Vegas, and she was arrested for domestic violence. Do you remember this? I do remember this, actually. I also remember when she was on Bachelor in Paradise and she got engaged to Josh Murray. Josh Murray. And he apparently was allegedly an abusive piece of shit. Oh, he was psychotic. Psycho. No, he was so weird. Like, totally team Amanda with that. Anyone with Josh Murray, like, bless your heart. I feel like obsessed with you, like, stand with you, whatever.
16:53But Amanda Stanton in general, like, she is just, I find, to be very problematic. And I want to do an entire episode on her because I feel like she's kind of this like Orange County celebrity. And I've gotten like a lot of good recommendations from her to like go to certain beauty spa places. And like where I get my facials and like where I get my lashes done and like my brows or whatever. She's a very good person. So meanwhile, you're her biggest fan. Meanwhile, this was like back in 2020 though, for real guys. I like don't call her anymore. But we go to like the same kind of spas and like we have some mutuals.
17:25And I've just heard not so great things about her. And I just want to talk about this story that she posted this past weekend where she posted a picture of her two girls. I think they're like kind of older now because when they were on the show, they were babies. They were like really little. Yeah, they're probably like tweens now. Yeah, they're probably tweens now. But her kids are off to sleepway camp. And she took a picture of them at the hydration room, which if you guys are unfamiliar, it's where people get IVs. You can also get like GLP-1s. It's like a med spa. Certainly not a hospital. But it's a picture of her kids getting an IV.
17:57And she's like getting the kids IVs before they go to sleepaway camp. And my sister also always gets mad at me. Like anytime I'm severely hungover, which is like not frequently, but sometimes when I do go out and go get crazy, the only thing that is like a reprieve for me is an IV. I've never gotten one like for fun. Oh, it really is helpful. So Audra always gets mad at me because she's like, if they don't have the same regulations as they do in a hospital to make sure that all the equipment is clean before they insert like an IV into your face. I was going to say, no, I was going to say the idea of like a random person from like an online internet company putting a needle in my arm.
18:35Like I just, I don't, I don't understand the appeal. No, it is actually inherently, it's, I wouldn't say it's risky, but it can have its risks. it poses a lot of risks. And Audrey was trying to explain to me, like when I'm at the hospital and I'm inserting an IV into someone, there's a lot of protocols that you have to do, a lot of regulations that is not done when a nurse comes into your home and does this or goes to a hydration room. So people were, I think, fairly criticizing Amanda as to why are you inserting needles into your kids before sleepaway camp? Like that literally makes no sense.
19:02So Amanda goes on to do an entire three and a half minute video about why she feels like she doesn't need to explain why she inserted needles into her kids. But let me explain to you guys anyways. And she's like, listen, I don't allow my kids. No, she goes, you guys, I'm a helicopter parent. I'm very overprotective. I don't even let my kids do sleepover. But there's a little asterisk here. I'm going to allow my kids to go to sleepaway camp. And she's like, listen, I know in and of itself, this seems to be hypocritical. And if you guys want me to do a video about my kids going to sleepaway camp and not allowing them to go to sleepovers, I can do that video if you guys are interested.
19:33But she goes on to say that her husband, Michael, grew up going to sleepaway camp. And she's like, he always says that these were the best days of his life. These are his glory days. He's ever been so cool in his life. And a lot of the kids at school, at my kid's school, go to the same sleepaway camp. They have incredible reviews. And my girls have been begging me to allow them to attend. And so she's like, okay, all out. She finally acquiesces. And she says that she hears that the camp food in this cafeteria is garbage. And she's like, well, I'm concerned because if my kids are very picky eaters, if the food in the cafeteria sucks, what are they going to be doing?
20:04Eating chips all day if the food's really that bad? And she's like, people were recommending to me, you know, if the food's bad and your kids aren't going to eat, maybe pack your kids with some electrolyte. And I was like, okay, yeah, I am. So let me just take them to the hydration room to pump them up with electrolytes in the event that the food kind of stinks. And it's like, okay, electrolytes is not the same as nutrition that you obtain and the vitamins that you obtain from food, but okay. Right. And also just to say, first of all, as someone who went to sleep boy camp for years, I can confirm best years of my life.
20:36So I don't judge. I know that a lot of these like influencers that send their kids to camp, they always get comments from people being like, you're sending your kids away for the summer. You're a horrible mom. So I don't think that's the issue. No. You know, I think that they will eat whatever junk they're served at the camp because they are 12 year old girls or however old they are. Like they're tweens. Who cares if they eat potato chips and PB &Js and like beef stroganoff from like a bucket? Like who cares? You know, that's part of the fun. I too. They'll survive. Yeah. Yeah. It's part of the fun.
21:06It's part of the experience. And I think that, listen, I don't really have an opinion on the electrolytes thing is less bothersome to me and her taking her kids to the hydration room. I'm not a mother. I won't judge her for doing that. Like do whatever you think is right. What I get annoyed about with Amanda Stanton is it's really rich coming from her, a woman who has been posting her young girls for years now, close to a decade of her young girls in bathing suits to her millions and millions of followers. And listen, I have a lot of friends who post their kids in bathing suits to their 300 followers to people that they know like private accounts and it's all people they know it's a completely different story when you're an influencer with your reach with millions of followers and you're posting your kids in their bikinis when they are underage and really don't have the ability to consent to blast it all to your millions of followers and we even talked about it in the arielle charnis episode i think when photos of her kids are far more shared than any other photo that is so nefarious to me i think if you don't think that is nefarious and you're not living on planet earth it is like proven that instagram and these pictures of these young children donning bathing suits which they're allowed to do but if you post it to your millions of followers that is literally grounds for child sexual abuse materials not because because creepy people nefarious people will take those photos and do god knows what with it like i think it's very very unsafe for her to be doing that and i that's what bothers me about her because she's been doing this for so long.
22:29And that she's like, I just really care about the health and safety of my kids. And it's like, well, then why are you constantly posting them and exploiting them on the internet? Exactly. And Ariel Tarnas, actually, speaking of which, has been getting the same flack because, first of all, she sent her two oldest daughters to camp this summer, which, again, nothing to snark on there. Camp is such an amazing experience, especially on the East Coast. It's very common. But she was posting on like visitors day or whatever, visiting day. And it was very obvious what camp it was. And it didn't even seem like she was trying.
23:02She put little hearts over like the logos on their camp uniforms. But like it was still very obvious where the camp was and what the camp was. And people were like, do you have no, you know, reasonable idea of safety, concern of safety for your daughters? Like you're posting to your millions of followers. and she is always posting them and always posting exactly where they are in the moment. And it's like, it's just a little, you know, like you kind of want to shake them. It's like, do you really not understand how the internet works? Yeah. That there are, of course, most of your followers are normal people and normal women.
23:36And, you know, people that are following you for your, yeah, non-threatening, following you for your links and your recommendations and all of that. But then there is a small percentage of fucking freaks out there. Yeah. And I think to deny that is just you're not living in the real world. This is what happens. And that's why in California, there are rules and regulations in place such that you cannot exploit your children. If you do post them, then you need to, you know, allocate a portion of the funds that you collect from these sponsors to a trust for your children. Like, there are laws in place that are trying to protect these kids.

24:07It is, I guess, her decision and it's her prerogative to post these types of, to me, exploitative pictures. I would not do that just because I live in the real world and I know how disgusting people are. But I just I find it very hypocritical that she claims in the same video how much of a helicopter parent she is, how overprotective she is. While in that same vein, posting a picture of her kids in Laguna Beach with like two bathing suits on. It's just like it's nefarious. Yeah, it doesn't track. You posted actually on Instagram. You were like, she's not a good person. I know from Orange County.
24:39And people were like, spill the tea. Like, what's the tea? I might have to put it behind a table because it's like scathing. But just trust me when I say I don't think she's a responsible mom. Maybe we do our Amanda Stanton episode on Patreon. Yeah. A hundred percent. Just trust me when I say we know a lot of the same people. Oh. She just doesn't. She gives me very, very. Dark energy. Dark energy. And that's all I'll say about it. What I have heard of, though, is her sister, Carissa. Brock your body. Brock your body. She is lovely. I actually saw her at the Target. I think I talked about this before.
25:17Oh, cute. Yeah, with her little dog. But I didn't approach her because I'm not like a Brock your body. I'm not a Brocker. You're not a Brock. Is that what they call themselves? I'm not a Brock star. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not a Brock star. Here at Snarkbait Pod, you guys know we are passionate about skincare and care a lot about what we put on our skin. So we would never steer you wrong in that department. And we've talked before about loving Korean beauty, and my new obsession is J-I-Y-U, pronounced G-U. I first saw this brand on TikTok because people were raving about the results, and I'm sure you have too.
25:53And let me tell you, the products actually work. They live up to the hype, you guys. J-U is dermatologist-tested and helps your skin look healthier, brighter, and firmer without a complicated 12-step routine, because who owes the time? The key is their rejuvenation toner pads. These are not your regular toner pads. It's basically an entire Korean skincare routine packed into a single swipe. Every pad is packed with eight clinically backed Korean skincare actives, from snail mucin for hydration to peptides for firmer looking skin. Think of it as your glass skin shortcut. Unlike other toner pads, they left my skin feeling hydrated and nourished and glowy and glassy and radiant rather than stripped or dried or irritated.
26:33I am truly obsessed. You will be too. And if you're not, GU has a 90-day money-back guarantee. For a limited time, GU is having a crazy deal for our listeners. Nothing makes you appreciate good bedding more than a hot summer night, especially when your air conditioning is broken like ours was recently. I don't want to talk about it. Having something that's lightweight, breathable, cool, and easy to sleep in, no matter how hot it gets, is so freaking important. That's why I love Quince. It's been my go-to for bedding for so long now, with high-quality materials like 100 % European linen and organic cotton.
28:53You can literally feel the difference. I love waking up not sweaty. Quince has everything you need to make your bed feel cooler, lighter, and more comfortable for summer. From breathable sheets to linen, shams, and duvet covers in soft, seasonal colors, relaxed stripes, and timeless neutrals. My absolute favorite is their 100 % organic cotton percale sheets and duvet cover. The material is so crisp and comfy and even has a cooling effect, which is obviously perfect for those hot summer nights. I also love the look of it. It's a soft gray gingham and just has this classic look that instantly elevates our bedroom.
29:24And I love knowing that we're sleeping on 100 % cotton and not some cheap polyester blend. I also love their mulberry silk pillowcases and eye masks. They help keep your hair smooth and skin hydrated overnight because they don't absorb your natural oils like other materials do. Quince bedding is made for literal beauty sleep, you guys. And in case you need a reminder, everything at Quince is 50 to 80 % less than similar brands because they work directly with ethical manufacturers and cut out the middleman. So you're paying for quality materials without the luxury markup. Make your summer bedding feel better.

30:11Before we get into the Nicolandria of it all, because I definitely want to talk about that, I quickly want to touch on Next Gen NYC. Did you watch season one of Next Gen NYC? No, but my best friend Sarah's always giving me shit. She's like, this is the best show ever. I don't know why I'm watching it. It is. It's so good, you guys. Okay, so we're like four episodes into season two, and they've already released the mid-season trailer, which that's concerning to me. If the season is only eight episodes, like you're going to get the same amount of episodes or less than in the city, please. I hope I hope that I'm I'm counting things up wrong and that they actually have more episodes of that.
30:44We'll see because the season is so fucking good so far. The show is amazing. And we get in the midseason trailer or page six reported that Ariana and Charlie end up hooking up, which is going to be interesting to watch unfold. but I love the show so much and it's so funny because I feel like when it was advertised like before season one it was like Gia Giudice and Brooks Marks and and Riley Burris and all of these Real Housewives offspring and those aren't the stars of the show like Brooks is not meant for reality TV he's just not made for it which is fine he's really boring Gia is barely in it Riley also So, I mean, she's had some rough moments this season.
31:25The real stars are Ariana Beerman, who is a housewife offspring. But then Georgia, who's not, and also Charlie, who's not. And they are just, I think they were like in this group of like Gen Z New Yorkers. Like early 20s and like kind of ran in the same circles and go out to these clubs and stuff. And they are endlessly watchable. And first of all, the Riley versus Georgia incident, which was, if you guys watched, I think it was like two episodes ago, where Riley is like blackout drunk and she is like screaming at Georgia and saying, shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up. And basically antagonizing her.
32:02And it didn't seem like Georgia was doing anything. She's getting a ton of backlash. And she wasn't even in the first episode or the last episode that aired. So I think people are like, what is her future or like position even on the show? And then she was like gaslighting Ariana and blaming it on her. It was just like not a great look. So and that drama is very real and genuine. You can feel it. Genuine and real. Maddie Pruitt. Yeah. And then you have Charlie versus Amira. And even though Charlie is like a demon who may have tortured someone for his crypto password, he is a reality TV legend in the making.
32:38Like he reminds me so much of Jax, honestly. And I don't mean that complimentary, but kind of complimentary. No, I mean, come on. Say what you want about Jax. He is reality TV. The best reality star we've ever had. To ever do it. Like, I'm sorry, he's a demon, but he is the best reality TV star. He says to Brooks Marks this episode, first of all, Brooks can barely confront him because, again, he's not good reality TV material. And he goes, Brooks is like, you were disrespectful to my dad or something. And Charlie goes, fuck your dad. And then Brooks goes, it was just like quasi, you know, messed up that you said that or something.
33:12I can't remember exactly. Anything that Brooke says, I'm like, I don't fucking remember. Everything that Charlie says embedded into my brain forever because he's so quotable. He goes, then I'm quasi sorry. Like he's so funny. And there are so many things like he like, okay, so here with the Amira beef. So Amira is a trans woman. And oh, yes, she's so, so stunning. Beautiful. Yeah. Yeah. Beautiful. And I guess she accused Georgia of flirting with her boyfriend. And Georgia was like, I wasn't flirting with your boyfriend, blah, blah, blah. And then I guess Charlie off camera behind the scene said he couldn't be flirting with you, Georgia, because he's a gay man.
33:49So insinuating that Amira is a man. Like it's it's a really loaded statement. It's a really loaded and horrible thing to say. Oh, sorry. I wasn't laughing. I thought I OK. Sorry. I was not I was laughing because I thought that you were talking about the female born boyfriend. OK, I didn't realize you're talking about the trans woman's boyfriend. OK, that's not funny. That's not. Yes, yes, yes. The trans Friendswoman Amira. Okay. Her boyfriend. So he was saying her boyfriend's gay, so he couldn't be flirting with you, Georgia. He's gay. He's a gay man. And, like, that is so invalidating, obviously, to Amira.
34:23It's insinuating that Amira's actually a man. And this is someone that Amira considers a close friend, right? So Georgia was like, I need to tell Amira this. Which people are like, why did she say that? And it's like, it's reality TV. She needs to, you know, start the drama, first of all. And also, like, be a shit stirrer. And I think that it's a real, you know, concern that she had where she was like, you consider Charlie your friend. Here's what he's saying about you behind your back. And Amira confronts Charlie. And he goes, first he goes, I didn't say that. Or Georgia tells Charlie. Georgia's like, I told Amira what you said.
34:58You said this. And Charlie goes, I didn't say that. And Georgia goes, okay, lie. And he goes, well, I have no recollection of saying that. It's like it's so jackscoded where it's like, I probably didn't say that, but I have no recollection. It's like it changes. So Charlie is extremely entertaining, unfortunately. The show is so good. You guys, if you're not watching it, you're really missing out. I'm telling you. Wow. OK, I think I need to watch it. See, like, I feel like I'm not watching Next Gen and In the City, and I will continue to not watch In the City because I just I don't want to. In the City is really, I've been dragging my feet to finish part one of the reunion.
35:31I caught up and I watched part one of the reunion. It's just like there's like nothing to the show. I'm sorry. It's a flop. I saw Andy calling Amanda out. Amanda, you seem to be really sincere in the way that you're apologizing to Danielle. Where is the energy for Sierra in the summer house reunion? Yeah. And she just basically said that. Blamed it on Sierra, of course. Yeah. Yeah, it's a flop. I think that if they do come back next season with, I'm sorry, with Amanda and Wes on the show, that will have some necessary conflict and it will make the show more interesting. But as it is, when it's just like Lindsay versus Kenny, it's just like, it's not, it's not interesting, you guys.
36:09I'm sorry. Like everyone was mad at me because I like stopped watching it mid season and then I caught up and I'm like, this is what you guys wanted me to spend my one precious life watching. No, I just, I really don't want a platform. Like, honestly, I don't even want Wes to demand on the show. I don't care about watching them anymore. If I'm going to be honest, Like, I just, I want them to shoot. Go away and live. I think that's, I part agree with you, but I part also am like, we shouldn't have villains get fired from every show. Because then it's like, where's the conflict, you know? No, that's a good point as well.
36:39I just, for them in particular, I can't. Yeah, they're not even entertaining villains. I think that's the other thing, is that they're both really boring and annoying. See, and I think the difference with them, sorry not to get into this too much, but I feel like they're so duplicitous in not real. They're not authentic and real, a la Maddie Pru. it. Genuine and real. Genuine and real. Thank you. It's whatever you at least Jax again he was exactly who he showed on TV and that's why he was fired. That is a villain I can understand why he was booted from TV because it was actually a hazard and a danger to himself and everyone around him and the kid.
37:09With Wes and Amanda it's like you're not even giving us your real authentic selves. So why the hell would I want to watch is because it's so contrived. Like I just I can't especially not even really Amanda. It's really actually more towards Wes because Wes is like we don't even know him. What did you think of Wes like birthday post for Amanda? So basically he posted like a super face apt photo of her and he goes first he says hbd homegirl and then he deleted that and he said hbd twin and then he posted an acronym that says twin means together we ignore negativity it's like these people think they're so clever oh you're so clever jorinda oh you're so clever clip oh my my light went off sorry this is the beauty of showbiz baby that's showbiz baby well um i don't know what else oh i mean oh are you not gonna turn it back on No, I think it died.
37:54Oh, it died? Okay, Nance. So Nance is going to be in the dark for the rest of Starry YouTubers. No, I can still see you. Yeah, it's just not as fabulous lighting as before. Yeah. Yeah, they're just hanging on by a thread, okay? Listen, if I were them, I too would want to hang on by a thread to prove all the naysayers wrong, but this ain't going to last, okay? Yeah. He's not going to father your children, Amanda. Did you see she posted a FaceApp photo of him with someone else who I don't know who it was? They're so fun and quirky, Sophie. I know. They just like love face apping. And she deleted it, but she said L-O-M-L is like loves of my life.
38:29And that's clearly West on the right. She's so funny. Oh, my God. I know. They're so quirky and different. Yeah, they're really quirky. So, yeah, that's the update on West and Amanda, I guess, tangentially. So let's talk about Nicolandria. Okay, so Nicolandria have conveniently broken up, in quotes, right after Love Island season eight has erupt. And, you know, that's really great timing considering everyone is now focused on the fresh new couples out of the villa. Obviously, this is a contrived breakup. Obviously, I'm not living in a freaking, I'm not living in a, I know what's going on. Okay, I was the biggest Nicolandria stan last summer.
39:05I was going to say, you were. What happened? I was obsessed. It's just, it was so clear that they weren't actually dating. And I think it was clear that they were a PR couple and their stans were quite literally out of control. I'm convinced that their stans are a bunch of 15-year-olds that like troll the internet every single day, making sure that there is not a negative thing to say about this couple. Otherwise, they would attack, attack, attack. There's this TikTok creator named Steph with Da Deets. And she talked about how any Nicolandria TikTok that she would make, she would have to disable comments because the stans were so insane.
39:36I'm trying to think of any kind of stan culture. I think the selenators are really similar. Like they really like pounce. And I think she kind of encourages them. What about Swifties? Swifties also. But I think Swifties lean a little bit more, like, older. I think when it comes to Selenators and Nicolandria Sans, she's, like, very young. And Demois actually posted a blind item last week about a rumor that Alandria was hooking up with Travis Scott. Did you see this? Yeah, and it says, rumor! There's, like, a big sticker that says, rumor. Yes. Alandria comments on the post before blocking Demois.
40:09So the comment, of course, was removed because when you block someone, every, you know, her comment was removed. removed she said quote i hope you have your lawyers ready because i have mine give me a break alandria you have no grounds to sue dumois for posting a quote-unquote rumor that was clearly on the post like the barrier to sue is so high and like sophie knows more about this than i do but like you actually have to prove that you have like loss of wages this rumor is not going to like have you lose any wages alandria like stop also it's like yeah travis travis got sucks but it's like why it's not like you're being linked to like Harvey Weinstein.
40:44I don't know why he was like top of mind. It's like, okay, right. What's the big deal? I don't know. Alandria has been taking herself way too seriously when it comes to this breakup and I'm just kind of sick of it. And Nick, don't even get me started on Nick. You're equally pissing me off. Okay. There's been rumors that he's been dating this blonde girl named Molly. Have you seen this? No, but I also don't pay attention to like the Love Island people that much. And also Nick, remember when he had that huge zit or like yeah like some cold sore on his lip and he was like making out with the entire villa i don't know what it was but oh yes yes sorry there was a zit and then there was a cold sore but yes he has apparently been dating this blonde girl named molly for months and they've you know obviously the internet's gonna do its thing they found that they were wearing the same t-shirt they're in a lot of events together they're never actually photographed together but i guess one of nick's best friends posted you guys relax nick isn't seeing molly this is actually my girlfriend when in fact that was totally a lie like this guy was not dating molly people just have theories that nick has been seeing this girl molly and he posted this stupid statement on tiktok it was tiktok subscribers mind you so basically a paywall tiktok breakup announcement confirmation he doesn't even use the words broken up or separated he just says quote to nicolandria community the rumors are true i didn't want to give people false hope so i wanted to clear the air.
42:01We will continue to love each other always. It's a sensitive as well as a private subject. Thank you for respecting our privacy. It's like, oh my God. Another thing is, I guess, Steph with Didit put together that he was actually hanging out with this girl at Coachella. She's this like Asian girl that was a pharmacy student at USC. They were like seen in the same house. They were waking up to the same morning view. Like there's been photos of him with other women for months now. So it's like, we know that this isn't a real breakup. You guys were just for PR because anything that you attach your label on would like sell so much, sell so much.
42:35But something even darker was, remember David, the ugly, insane rapper who killed his underage girlfriend, 14 years old, Celeste Revis-Henribe. Yeah, he's been in the news a lot recently because it came out that she was apparently pregnant more than a year before she was murdered and got an abortion. She was 14 when she was murdered, meaning he got her pregnant, this grown man got her pregnant when, and trigger warning, obviously, you guys, I'm sorry, this is a dark conversation, got her pregnant when she was 12 or 13. It's truly so disturbing. You can't even wrap your mind about how someone can be so vile.
43:12Like, this is the scum of the earth human. You are a molester and you are a murderer, quite literally. So people put together, so why this pertains to Nick, people put together that both David and Nick share a mutual friend named Aisha, I think is how you pronounce her name? Aisha Collins, A-Y-S-I-A Collins. And people, when they go to her Instagram, they notice followed by Nicholas Vans and David. People also notice that Nick, just a couple months out of the villa back last year, he was posted all over David's Finsta account. So the timeline is as follows. Love Island last year wraps July, 2025.
43:46And all over David's Finsta, there's photos taken and posted in late July of Nick. And there's even a comment of someone saying, David, why is Nick there? And then David responds on his Finsta, he stole my phone LMAO. So just two months after these photos of Nick were posted on David's Finsta, the body of Celeste Hernandez was found in September of 2025. And then of course, we know David was investigated and arrested just a couple months this year. Obviously, I'm not insinuating at all that Nick had anything to do with these murders, obviously. It's just very suspect that Nick is hanging out with this creep, David.
44:18It's like birds of a feather. Like, why are you hanging out with a pedophile murderer at all? You know, like, even if you didn't realize he was that yet, like he he was had been dating, dating, quote unquote, raping Celeste, his underage girlfriend, quote unquote, for quite some time at that point when he was hanging out with him. It's like, did you not know? Right. Maybe he didn't. Maybe he didn't. But it's still like it's a big, you know, question mark. Yeah. Makes you raise your eyebrows a little bit. Right. and so i think just both nick and elandria are kind of just like pissing me off they're clearly the most famous out of the villa last summer elandria was like on freaking rolling stone africa like she has the best team and she's doing super well for herself which i'm really happy for like she just bought this pet house i think in texas but i just think that the it's their relationship was so contrived and it has been so contrived for so long it just i don't find myself caring about this breakup at all because i know this was never a real relationship to begin with Right.
45:13It just is a little bit of an insult to our intelligence of people that like consume pop culture like you and I. It's really you guys are going to make a seem like you guys have actually been together and you just broken up when as early as April of this year, Nick was spotted with this Asian girl at Coachella and also with this other Molly girl for months before that when he was hanging out with Alex Earl a couple of months ago when Nick was Molly was there. Like he's just always with another girl. And it's I don't know, but the stands will tell you that it's fake. The stands will tell you it's like Photoshop.
45:40They'll tell you it's AI. Like they refuse to believe anything negative about this couple because they were so obsessed with them and wanted to believe anything that was good about them when in fact it's just a fart. I'm over it. You loved them. I remember you really loved them. So it's really it is interesting that you eventually were like wow this isn't real. Yeah because I opened my eyes. You wanted to believe. You wanted to believe it was. I did because I just thought they were they were just like the hottest couple and they were funny and they laughed. But at the same time, I'm like, you guys probably didn't even make it a couple of weeks out of the villa, for real.
46:12Unfortunately. And it pains me to say this. Christy last year would have been like, shut up. They're getting married. Yeah, exactly. Okay. I mean, it was smart of them. I guess it was like a smart business move to stay together because so many people were invested in them. Like, it makes sense, I guess. Yeah. I mean, they did. They certainly capitalized off of this, monetized off of this relationship where they probably don't have to work for at least a decade. They probably acquired so much wealth at this point, which happy for them. Yeah, totally. Most people don't realize how much their personal information is being bought and sold every day.

49:11What is your LEO? Okay, speaking of Love Island, PacSun is hosting this brand trip. And Jen Terry from this past season, Caleb from this season, The Cowboy. Rob Rausch and his girlfriend, Chloe, are in attendance, Katie Fang. and rob and caleb are filming a bunch of tiktoks in japan together at this pants pack some brand trip and people are obsessed with this duo because people are basically saying that caleb is the rob roush of season eight which he could never be let's just be clear he wishes he like rob roush is perfect did you see that tiktok of him doing darts and caleb had his fingers on the dart pad and the first try rob landed a bullseye of course he did of course he did what can't this man do and him and Caleb were like hugging each other, like bouncing up and down because they were so excited that Rob, you know, pinned the bullseye.
49:56They're just like so cute together. And I love that. People kept saying this is the first person Caleb seems to have chemistry with because like Caleb had no connections on Love Island. Like all the girls were icked out by him because he was like too shy. But him and Rob seemed to be like two peas in a pod. And I'm just loving the content. Love that. Yeah. I saw some of the pictures he posted with his, it's like the back of his girlfriend. So you can't see her face or anything. He's still kind of like protecting her privacy, but like love it. I mean, even though I'm jealous. Oh, really? I was, I just saw, I haven't been watching their TikToks.
50:26I've just been seeing, um, on Instagram, the pictures that he posts on Instagram are just, yeah, she's like such a cool girl. She's like an esthetician. She has like a little bit of a sleeve on her arm. She's just like a cool girl. she has like tattoos. Yeah. Um, yeah, they're really cute. Even again, even though I'm jealous, um, they're cute together. Yeah. Um, oh, okay. Now I'm seeing, I just, I just searched on TikTok and yeah, I can now. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. She's really cute. They were doing karaoke and he was like holding her and everyone's like, my dream date. Cute. My dream date. Literally.
50:59Yeah. So speaking of TikTok, my LEO. Is anyone else on roller coaster TikTok? No. Just me. That sounds so fun. So like I loved roller coasters growing up and as an adult, it hurts my body to go on them. I understand now why like my parents never wanted to ride them with me because it hurts when you're It hurts your head. You can feel your brain jiggling around. It hurts your joints. It hurts everything. I can't ride roller coasters anymore. And yes, I have tried. I went on a roller coaster one or two summers ago at the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore. Anyway, it hurt. So since I can't physically go on roller coasters anymore, and also I'm not going to amusement parks that much, I love roller coaster TikTok.
51:44My entire For You page is going up really steep. It's like, this is the highest roller coaster in the western hemisphere wait that feels like really good yeah it's fun like i highly recommend it you guys if you love roller coasters but you can't physically ride them anymore like me um it's really fun i love it you know actually know what i've been on is um slingshot tiktok what's that like you know those those rides at the fair where it's like a slingshot where like they you like pull down and then you get lifted up oh so So that's actually, it's freaky. And it's a camera that's like focused on the people.
52:19Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So these roller coasters, it's just from the point of view of someone riding it. These TikToks. Oh, yeah. Which I love. Okay. As for my dark energy objects, I have two. And I was thinking about this with, I recommended a pair of jeans in our newsletter. And I love these Lioness jeans. I have a couple pairs of Lioness jeans because they're letter sizing. So it's like small, medium, large, extra small, whatever it is. instead of denim sizing because denim sizing pisses me the fuck off you guys i am a different size in every denim brand oh yeah 100 and i hate that like at least with the letter sizing it is like much easier to gauge exactly what because there aren't that many options you know you can like get like you're pretty consistent when it comes to letter sizing but with denim sizing it changes with every brand and it's so that's what makes shopping for jeans so hard so i love that Lioness jeans.
53:12And it's because they're like a little bit oversized too. Like they're not going to fit you like a glove per se. They have like a wider, you know, range that fits into the small, medium, large, whatever it is. But I highly recommend it makes shopping for jeans way easier. And they're great jeans. I love, I have multiple pairs and I love them. And I just hate denim sizing. Like I really, I can't buy jeans anymore because I feel like I'm just at a different size in every single brand. And even the same brand, like Levi's. Like I have one cut where I'm this size and then another pair of Levi's jeans.
53:44I'm like, okay, well, that's my Levi's size, right? No, wrong. Yeah, dude, it's kind of triggering too, if I'm going to be honest. Like I don't like it. The different denim sizing, I completely agree because it's like, and a Goldie, I'm one. Levi's, entirely different. And then it's very disorienting and then you have to return it. I have like barely short legs too. So like every jean is going to basically be a parachute on me just height-wise. Yeah. It's triggering. It's annoying. It makes shopping very difficult. You can never buy online because then you have to get three different sizes to figure out which of these three sizes.
54:17I could vary between X and Y. Yeah. Which one? And then you have to, you know, do a return. And it's just so annoying. You got to print the label. You got to affix it to the damn package. You got to, you know. It's too much. It's too much. So my other one is also was shopping related that I was thinking about having to buy bikini top and bottom separately. And I get why this happens. I understand because, you know, especially like girls with big boobs or a big butt or whatever it is, like you, you probably are a different size in your top and bottom. I get that. But I really feel like it's such an excuse for these brands to charge so much more for the separates instead of charging one price for the entire bikini.
54:59It is so fucking annoying. I swear to God. It's like every bikini is, you know,$85 for the top,$85 for the bottom, or even more than that, obviously, some of these brands. And it's so annoying. Tell me why. It's like, why are jeans that are so much fabric and so much more, I'd imagine the amount of time it takes to make jeans is longer than a, okay, the bathing suit makers are going to yell at me. A bathing suit is just so little fabric. Right. And it's all like, obviously, like polyester or whatever it is. It's not like it's expensive fabric. You know, it's little tiny pieces of fabric. Why does this cost$250?
55:36Like all of these like nice bikini brands. And people say, you know, that it's worth investing in these good brands because the quality is better. And it's I'm like, is it though? I don't know. Either way, I just it pisses me off how you have to buy the top and the bottom separately because I swear these brands are like price gouging. 100%. They got to increase their profit margins, man. Yeah. You know? Yeah. I guess as you should. You know, my dark energy object, I set it up top. I've just been going through it. So let me know, you guys, how— Please leave a Spotify comment or write a comment on our Patreon or— Oh, and then also maybe give us a five-star review if you're loving the show because we love you guys so much.
56:13Get us back into the fours, you guys. Please. That'll be my gift. Your gift to me to improve my poor mental health right now is to maybe give us a five-star review to make— It's like a one small little thing that could help me. But if you don't, that's fine, too. You know, we all have free will. But you guys, we love you so much. Tomorrow on the Patreon. So if you do want to talk about what we're covering tomorrow. Oh, yeah. Tomorrow on the Patreon, we're talking about some recent, like, Reddit drama, Reddit stories that I've been thinking about a lot. So we have this girl named Kylie Skeffington.
56:44You may have been following this on TikTok. She documented herself breaking and entering into a dead person's apartment. So we talk about that. We talk about Carly Weinstein's breakup with her boyfriend who might be accused of tax fraud. And we also talk about Emily Kaiser's subreddit turning on her and why she is getting so much backlash lately. So those are three topics that we're covering on tomorrow's Patreon episode. And then Thursday, we are doing our usual deep dive on someone. This is a highly requested episode that you guys, I feel like, have been waiting for. So I'm very excited for you guys to hear this one.
57:19And yeah, you also get ad-free episodes over on Patreon, link in our show notes. And then also, I was just talking about the jeans that I recommended on our newsletter. That goes out every Friday, and that link is also in our show notes. So yeah, thank you guys so much for being here. We love you. Bye. Bye.
57:53The weather has been beautiful lately, which means I'm pretty much always out and about doing things. Errands, workouts, beach days, you name it. And of course, I need clothes that can actually keep up with all of that. That's why I joined Fabletics as a VIP. It completely changed how I shop and refresh my wardrobe when it needs an upgrade. New VIPs unlock major savings on their first purchase, so stocking up on practical, comfortable, and cute pieces doesn't feel like some major splurge. When I signed up as a new VIP with Fabletics, I got 70 to 80 % off everything. It made it super easy to grab multiple matching sets, shorts, tanks, and lounge pieces for summer without overthinking it.
58:31And genuinely, you guys, the quality is so good. Fabletics pieces feel like ultra luxe activewear you'd expect from those other high-end brands, you know the ones, but without the hefty price tag. These pieces are built to actually last, and I love that for me. My absolute favorite piece I've gotten is the Anywhere Cropped Bra Tank. It's the perfect workout top that I can throw on for a workout or to just record, run errands, go to lunch, everything in between. I love how easy getting dressed is with Fabletics and how put together I look without having to actually think about it. Shop now at fabletics.com slash snark to get 70 to 80 % off everything when you sign up as a new VIP.
59:05Take a quick style quiz and be sure to select snark when prompted to unlock this offer. This is a limited time offer, so don't wait.
59:39You can literally feel the difference. I love waking up not sweaty. Quince has everything you need to make your bed feel cooler, lighter, and more comfortable for summer. From breathable sheets to linen shams and duvet covers in soft, seasonal colors, relaxed stripes, and timeless neutrals.
1:00:10And I love knowing that we're sleeping on 100 % cotton and not some cheap polyester blend. I also love their Mulberry Silk pillowcases and eye masks. They help keep your hair smooth and skin hydrated overnight because they don't absorb your natural oils like other materials do. Quince bedding is made for literal beauty sleep, you guys. And in case you need a reminder, everything at Quince is 50 to 80 percent less than similar brands because they work directly with ethical manufacturers and cut out the middleman. So you're paying for quality materials without the luxury markup. Make your summer bedding feel better.

But Aura goes beyond data protection.
