In short
This episode of Snarkbait is a fast mix of sponsor reads and pop-culture commentary. Topic highlights: Ruggable rugs for dog-friendly, machine-washable stain resistance; Progressive savings; and Quince bedding, Lola pet products, and Fabletics clothing. Main entertainment segments: Summer House reunion Part 2 recap (Christy/Sophie argue it was less “juicy” than Part 1, focus on Amanda spitting in Wes’s mouth in Italy as unsanitary and “ham it up” for cameras; Kyle partying hard; and claims that Wes/Amanda’s behavior is influenced by cocaine and hypocrisy about going out). They also discuss Off Campus: Mika Abdalla (Ali) and Jake Short (fiancé/ex-fiancé) breakup rumors, resurfaced clip where Jake calls her “some bitch,” and both releasing accountability statements; they mention Stephen Kalin’s long-term relationship and Mika’s engagement ending before the show aired. Guests mentioned: none formally interviewed; recurring “guests” are Summer House cast (Kyle, Sierra, Mija, Amanda, Wes) and Off Campus actors (Mika Abdalla, Jake Short, Stephen Kalin, Hudson Williams).

My kitchen runner, foyer runner, outdoor balcony rug, and living room rug are all Ruggable. I'm not exaggerating. Not only do they have the chicest designs for whatever you're looking for, whether your style is boho, modern, classic, the rugs are both stain-resistant and machine-washable. This is key for me as a New Yorker with a dog. You don't even want to know what kind of city sludge he can drag into the house on any given day.
0:33Jake Shane:But with Ruggable, you don't have to worry about professional carpet cleaners or big machines. You can just throw it in the wash and it comes out looking as high quality as the day you got it. It's truly a game changer. Oh, and the non-slip backing that every single one of the rugs has, also key for having a dog with the zoomies. So they're functional for high traffic homes, yes, but they're also fashionable. I truly take pride in my interior design skills and my guests always compliment my rugs. Thanks, Ruggable. Love ya. And so happy you're a sponsor now. Refresh your home at Ruggable.com. 2:21ms slash college pc hey everybody welcome back to another episode of snark bait i'm christy i'm sophie how are we doing so we are good over here uh we recorded two episodes yesterday so we've already caught up yeah i was at the jersey shore this weekend got some sun uh i am so excited for our live shows this weekend i feel like now that like it's monday we're recording monday june 8th i my to-do list is like really really really long but i'm so excited there's so many things to do i'm I'm like, I woke up this morning. I'm like, okay, we need to just get through this day. Got to get through tomorrow.
2:57And then tomorrow, by Wednesday, it'll all be good. But I'm a little overwhelmed. But regardless, I am so - It's always stressful before a trip, you know? It's always stressful. And I think especially when you have an event and just like making sure, okay, did I do this? Did I do that? Don't forget this. Don't forget that. But no, I'm super excited. Baby Snark, she is so sweet. We were just talking off mic how she, poor thing. She got into a bit of an accident and she's like, listen, I'm okay. I'm getting some surgery, but I can't make your New York show. And I have VIP tickets. And like the response was so nice because she was like, I want to gift it to a baby snark who deserves it.
3:34I know. That was so generous of her. And I posted on Instagram and got so many responses. So I just, you know, was like, okay, first come first serve. It was so, so, so sweet. But if you're still interested in coming and didn't get the free VIP tickets. We have our code baby snark25 to get 25 % off. And we can't wait to meet so many of you in New York on Friday, Friday, this Friday, June 12th. And Chicago, the Windy City baby. We're going to be in the Big Apple and then the Windy City on June 14th, Sunday. It was Tinseltown. It was the Big Apple. And then it was the Windy City. I am so excited to see Chicago in the summer.
4:11Summertime shy, baby. Yeah, that's like unbelievable. Super, super excited for that stuff. Should we tell them? Should we tell them? By the way, if you were watching on YouTube and you just saw me duck out of frame, it's because Baxter's Duclaw is doing well. He just is still licking at it. So I had to just go tell him to knock it off. But last night I was like, wait, what's the deal with the Chicago? Because we got a hotel in Chicago. ago. I was like, what's the deal? Because Henry's coming. Do we have enough room for, and Christy, your girlfriend, Sarah's coming. So we were like, do we have enough room for our plus ones?
4:46I think we only got two rooms. And Christy was like, oh yeah, we should get a third room. And I was like, okay, it's a tomorrow problem. I'll call them tomorrow. Christy goes, not a problem. I'm already managing. I'm already emailing the manager. She's already on an email basis with the manager. You guys we haven't even stepped foot in the state of illinois and she is on an email basis you would be talking to the manager already why are you doing that a hotel staff hates to see christy coming also like it's so like our our different personalities because i'm like this is a tomorrow problem i'll deal with it tomorrow because he's like nope i got it was like late last night i know it was like it was 6 p.m pacific time yeah 9 p.m eastern time but you were like no i got it covered oh yeah no i gave them a call and i'm like listen okay this this is the story behind it.
5:29So I had booked us two standard rooms for me, Sophie, Rachel, Olivia, and my best friend, Sarah's coming with us because she's like basically our pseudo manager intern. Yes, she is. She is our manager. Like she is our manager. She's always telling me, what are you thinking? Don't do that. God, what would you do without me? It was so funny. Every time I like tell stories about my friends, this is such a conjecture. There was a comment months ago on Spotify, Christy, I've been meaning to tell you this for a long time. I feel your friends are very mean to you. I just thought you should know. And Sarah, Sarah looked at us.
6:05She goes, you should hear how she speaks to us. Wait, can we tell that story again that we told on Patreon? But I feel like everyone needs to hear it. The one about Raphael. Oh, yeah. Oh, my God. Okay. So as you guys know, I'm going through while I'm done with my home renovations. And there was this wallpaper guy. He was genuinely so lovely, like a lovely man. He's probably like in his late 40s, early 50s. And he just had like a little bit of like a limp and just like some spasms. And I was telling like my bestie, Sarah, I was like, you know, I got really sad because just he was he's doing hard labor, you know, and I asked Raphael, do you need anything, anything in the fridge, help yourself, sparkling water, da da da da.
6:44And I go, how long will you be here, Raphael? And he goes, as long as you'll have me. And like, that just made me so sad. And I got into my car and I started to cry because I'm like, this man is like having some physical pains, obviously, or he's just having some spasms. I don't know if he's in pain, but he's working so diligently. And I told Sarah, I'm like, you know, I'm just so sick. And you went in your car and like cried. I was like sobbing in my car. And I told Sarah, don't patronize him like that. Or no, don't look at him like that. He feels sorry for you. You're single, living in this big house.
7:12All alone. All alone. No family. No family. He's asking if he can invite you to Thanksgiving this year. Come on. Don't look like that. Like, he's gainfully employed. He's doing what he loves. Shut up. He feels bad for you. He feels bad for you. No family, no husband, all alone in this big house. Come on, give me a break. You're so stupid. That's my favorite story. Come on. And I was like, well, put it like that. When you put it that way, when you put it that way, I was telling Trigger Warning Ryan Bailey that during the summer house reunion part two, when, oh my God, I like felt so annoyed at myself for feeling bad for Wes in this moment.
7:45when they like take a break and then the left couch they all are like getting together it's like kyle sierra mia carl and then west is all alone on the right couch and he feels so awkward then he like gets up and walks by i'm like why the fuck do i feel bad for west like fuck west what is wrong with us i know exactly the moment you are referring to and let's just get into the summer house reunion yeah i mean we are basically an unofficial summer house recap podcast at this point because we are just so enraptured and obsessed with this show and i think even without the scandal we would have been obsessed with it but what were your thoughts on part two i thought it wasn't as juicy honestly as part one i was kind of half half paying attention because i was like working i don't know what honestly there was nothing particularly shocking obviously the miha facetime that i am very excited to see what happens with that when west it was so funny how reunion part two ended with Kyle and Sierra facetiming Mija and then Wes talking to Amanda and being like, um, I think it's just going to get better from here.
8:45Like, I think the hard part's over. It's like, oh, really, is it? But yeah, I don't think there was anything too shocking in this part of the reunion. But what did you think of the video of Amanda spitting in Wes's mouth in Italy? I think at this point they know they're being photographed and they're really trying to ham it up because this is just like unsanitary and actually it reminds me of i've been watching love island uk season five the molly may and tommy fairy uh season and there is this challenge where the boys are on one side of the dock and the girls on the other side and they need to assemble burgers and fries from one plate from one side of the uh dock to the other so the men have to grab for instance a patty they put it in their mouth they spit it into the girl's mouth and she runs to the other side and she tries to assemble a burger and fries with their mouth only transferring the food from one mouth to the other oh my it's disgusting and i honestly thought about this amanda spitting food into their mouth but yeah i i feel like they're not even rage bathing they just are they're like yeah we're being photographed so we're gonna like weird they're just fucking weird like what is happening i saw someone say that it looks like she was maybe spitting like an olive pit into his mouth and then other people were like i think she's just blowing him a kiss It definitely looks like he is like swallowing something.
10:02I don't know. It's very, very, very disturbing. Meanwhile, Kyle seems to be having the time of his life. He's living it up. I mean, my king, Kyle Cook. You guys know I'm a cookie monster. Yeah. Did you see that he was making out with a fan at his DJ set? Yes. I saw him make out with a fan. Also saw that he was out in Charleston with Sally from Southern Charm. And okay, I see in your notes, we have it on good authority that Sally and Kyle have slept together. They've consummated their relationship. This source is, I think we, are we talking about the same source? Yes, because this person was like at Sophie and then I was going back and forth.
10:37I'm like, oh, okay, I know who she is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I don't know if I could like say who it is. But it's someone I trust very, very, very much. Right. It's someone that we know. Like it's someone that, it's not a random person sliding into our DMs. We know for a fact this has happened. I think that so much is kind of assumed. But it's nice to hear it being confirmed from a boots on the ground journalist. Not really a journalist, just a normie like us. But yeah, I, you know what? When it comes to Sally, I've always said I'm kind of a Sally apologist because I just, yes, 100 % she is cringe.
11:10But I really appreciate the fact that she's exactly who she says she is. And she leans into being cringe. And she's like Sheena Shea light. But it kind of sucks for her because I feel like she's attempted to get with so many of these Bravo men. And you know that they just, I mean, Austin said it himself on the Southern Charming Union. He's like, you're kind of like a bar rat. You're just kind of like out really late. you're always drinking, which is very misogynistic, honestly, because it's a ghost. You and Craig are doing the same exact thing. And then people don't say that you're not like ready for a relationship because you're going out and partying.
11:37Like you're single. You should be doing that. But I feel like she's kind of used and discarded by these Bravo men. And I don't love that. And I feel like she leaned into it and she plays into it. It's not like she's a victim to it. I think she's very much in agreement that this is kind of what it is. But is that really what she wants? I think that she, I think, well, she says in Southern Charm that she wants like marriage and kids, but that's not how she, you know, is necessarily moving. But I think that she is, she's like a fuck boy, but she's a fuck girl, which it's like women in male dominated fields, right?
12:07Like good for her. Good for her. And like you said, she's cringe, but you know what they say to be cringe is to be free. She is just authentically herself. She doesn't give a fuck. She's great TV. So yeah, I am, I am team Sally, team Kyle. I ship it. I don't care. I ship it. You know what? I think I do too. I feel like she will kind of meet him where he's at because she's kind of the male, excuse me, the female version of him and that she likes to go out. She likes to party, you know? Wait, speaking of Kyle's partying, I have to say this about the reunion. I loved it when Kyle was like, I love how Amanda says she doesn't want to go out when this guy parties twice as hard as I do.
12:43And we all know that he was talking about the substances that Wes likes to partake in when he goes out. Party favors. Oh, yeah, that's a good point. But when she said what I, the part that I was really stuck on was the fact that she was like, it's because I did not like going out with you, Kyle. And he was so upset. It was like a night to the heart for Kyle. Like, that was the meanest thing you could possibly say. and it's funny someone on threads added me and added snarkbait and said months ago Sophie said that Amanda was because we were talking about the hypocrisy of the fact that she goes out all the time now with Wes and I was like she's gonna say it's because she didn't like going out with Kyle she likes to go out she just didn't like doing it with Kyle and someone was like oh my god Sophie called it months ago that this was going to be her reasoning I mean like I I kind of understand it to an extent because Kyle would get blackout and it's never fun to I mean Kyle would be a good hang he would be a good time to be around and to party with in doses right yeah but going out with someone all the time that gets that belligerent would be like kind of annoying so I like kind of get it a little bit no I 100 % get why Amanda didn't like going out with him I just thought it was interesting that Kyle said that without really saying it it's like you know when he says that Wes parties twice as hard as I do, it's because he's doing blow.
13:59And I did an Instagram reel on this and it kind of went viral about a lot of, to me, when I watch Wes and Amanda's relationship, a lot of it is heavily informed by, I think, cocaine. A hundred percent. Like it's no surprise because we've seen footage of Wes engaging in snow on his nose or him with that sketchy drug pickup in Chicago on St. Patrick's Day, I think last year. Like we all know. Or him literally doing a bump off of his hand in the back of one of Lindsay's videos. There's like so much video evidence for one person. Right. He's not discreet whatsoever. Yeah, not discreet. And living in cities is very normalized.
14:35And I remember being shocked by it, like living in San Francisco, being like, oh my God, everyone's doing it. Oh my God. And it's like, it's New York City. It's the Hamptons. It's like extremely, extremely common. It's the fact that it seems like Amanda is now picking up on this potentially new habit. And why is her personality so different? I'm sorry. Like the way that she is, like she takes Prozac now, which she loves to talk about. And that couple with drugs is. And we're on SSRIs. We're on SSRIs, both of us. Like that is no judgment against SSRIs. It seems like, I don't know, there is something, her personality shift is so strange.
15:15Obviously her behavior at the reunion is so strange. And dare I say that, like, Amanda and Wes, I don't think they necessarily should be fired for being, like, lying, cheating scumbags because it's reality TV. Like, that's what we want out of our reality stars. I think they should be fired for Wes hiding his actual life and having a secret girlfriend that he didn't want to tell the audience or producers about and, B, showing up to the reunion and being silent. Like, both of them, they're not being forthcoming at all at the reunion. That is a fireable offense, in my opinion. I agree. And like you said, when he talks all this tea on his actual podcast, but doesn't bring it to the reunion.
15:49Yes. Saves it for his own podcast, which is exactly why Robin Dixon from Real Housewives of Potomac got fired. Like, that is not allowed. Bravo does not like that. Yeah. It's like he has so much to say on his fucking podcast with Maga Barbie. Yeah. I love. I think that's so funny. I know. I know. What was I going to say? He, I said this last week, that the thing to me that is the most crazy is not even that he was just literally using Sierra for a storyline that we know now was fact because he was dating Miha ever. He was going back home to Miha after filming Raft and he went back to New York City.
16:20She was waiting for him at his house. So we know for a fact he was using Sierra for a storyline. He was basically acting the entire time. And I think Sierra now realizes that, which is probably why it's more hurtful. A couple of the fact that she's now with Amanda. But I would have loved that other side of the story of Miha. I want her to be on the stage of Summer House because I think she is really a critical part of West's entire story. And quite honestly, the only reason we care about Sierra is because she's on TV. But I would love to see that other side of West's life. And I want Miha on that screen right now.
16:50It's ridiculous. I don't know if they'll actually FaceTime her while they're on the stage, but we know that they were obviously FaceTiming her backstage. And yeah, she completely contradicts everything West is saying. And so it's like, how is he going to act when he is confronted with us? Because I don't think he knows that like they're FaceTiming her backstage. I don't know. I am very interested in part three that is airing tonight, Tuesday, June 9th. Wow. What a season. What a fucking season coming to a close. They better bring it because I was kind of bored with part two. And like you said, we didn't really learn anything.
17:24So I really want more to the Miha thing. That to me is what I am most interested in. That's a very important piece. We've played the whole Sierra thing to death over the last two years. Okay. We know that he never liked her. Maybe he liked her season one. He really has not had any feelings for her. He was using her. Using her for a storyline. I don't want to hear about it anymore. It's tired. I care more about Miha. Bring her on. Okay. Speaking of, I was going to say reality TV, but none of these people are on reality TV. Are you watching Alex Earl's stories or Jake Shane's stories or anything about the Grand Prix in Monaco?
17:58I'm not, but I saw that they were on a yacht. Okay, so Aloe invited Stassi Baby, Alex Earl, and Jake Shane to their yacht for Monaco's F1 Grand Prix. and I've been following along on Alex Earl's Instagram, you know, stories or whatever, or I'm sorry, TikTok things. And they're just looking like they're having a grand old time and I just want to know why is Jake Shane there? This actually turns me off from Aloe. This makes me not, and I love Aloe, this makes me not want to buy Aloe because what do you mean you're flying out Alex Earl, Stassi Baby, and Jake Shane to party on y 'all? What does this have to do with Aloe?
18:29None of them are wearing Aloe. Right. They said that there's like a health and wellness element to this trip and they're like doing Pilates and yoga on the yacht. Oh, please. But all they're doing is literally getting fucked up. And they keep saying, yeah, we said we're only going to be out till 3. 3. That is like, that is way. I mean. We're only going to be out until 3. Wait, I love how it's like health and wellness. But like they are up until sunrise every single day. Getting fucking shit faced. Every single day. And they're like, oh my God, we're meeting so many princes. We got back and we were on a tender boat back to the yacht when the sun was rising.
19:01The birds were chirping. I'm like, that is nightmare fuel. feel like I'm thinking of like one specific night where I had a night where I like went home and like the birds were chirping oh my god that is there's no worse feeling it's haunting no worse feeling you're like what the fuck the birds are chirping it's light oh my god no I have chills it's literally what hell is like it really is like but again they're in their 20s I guess that's kind of what your your 20s are for yeah uh we are past that stage in life we're not judging but like Yeah, it brings me back. It brings me back to some not great nights and mornings.
19:36Yeah, totally. Stop your baby. Jake Shane is making it. Yeah, they're all in their 20s. Yeah, Jake Shane is making it his entire personality. This wrist guard that he's wearing. He keeps like, me and my wrist guard. Why? Why does he have a wrist guard? I don't know. But like, he loves to talk about it on her TikToks. Alex's TikTok. He just is like such, he's always around. Wait, I have a wrist guard too. Like, should I start making that my whole personality? I wear it sometimes when I walk Baxter because my wrist is bad for walking Baxter so much. And he like yanks on the leash sometimes. And it's like giving me a bad wrist.
20:09I think that you need to start making it your entire personality. Yeah. It seems like Jake Shane is the only person on this earth that's ever donned a wrist scar. But I think you need to prove him wrong and start wearing it. But he's just like everywhere. And it was so performative. Alex was like a little bit late to arrive on the yacht. And when she got there, she took a TikTok of her waking Jake up on the yacht and he was sleeping. and she was like jumping on his bed and videoing. And he was like, come here. Like, he's just like, I don't like him. Like, make him go away. I don't, you guys know a lot of Jake Shane livers, okay?
20:40We're not like judging you. We just don't get it, okay? I know, I just don't understand it. But to each their own, I guess for whatever reason, he's clearly doing something right that he's invited on all of these yachts with rich, gorgeous celebrities. So good for him. Good for him, I suppose. But yeah, this does not make me want to buy aloe. That's so funny. It's like we are having a health and ball treat. Let's see. Here's your platter of cocaine. Literally. I was wondering about that. How did I get that across country lines? Oh, who's providing? Sure. They all have like people that figure that out.
21:14I want to talk about I know you didn't watch off campus for some reason, but you absolutely need to. So Mika Abdallah is one of the breakout stars from off campus. And she plays Ali. and she's so cute. Oh my God. I was obsessed with her character. So she was engaged to this actor, Jake Short, for they were together for five years. And obviously Mika just blew up with the show. It is the most streamed Amazon show of all time, beating out The Summer I Turned Pretty. So this is like, you know, they have blown the fuck up. It's like, I haven't seen like a blow up like this since the heated rivalry boys, which we need to talk about Hudson Williams after this.
21:53Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah. Anyway, everyone is obviously very invested in her personal life and her chemistry with the man who plays Dean, which is her love interest in the show, Stephen Kalin. I think I'm I'm hope I'm pronouncing that right. Their chemistry is insane. But it turns out that they're both in long term committed relationships. Stephen has been with his now fiance since 2012, since 2012. like they've been together since they were like children and then mika for her part has been she was engaged also to jake short they were together for five years came out that they have since broken up her team released a statement and said you know i everyone is invested in mika's personal life right now and she would be remiss to not mention that they actually have ended their engagement it sounds like they actually ended it before the show even aired and obviously everyone was like oh my god is it because she got too famous is it because you know she has this insane chemistry with Steven.
22:50But I don't know. We actually don't know. But my point is that, of course, because now she has millions of parasocial fans that things have been dug up, including a podcast that Jake did. I think he has a podcast. It was a podcast that he did with another couple. And the other couple asked him to describe Mika in two words. And he says, some bitch. And they look at him stunned. And he clearly thinks he's being funny. And this is their regular dynamic, but like the other couple is like stunned. She doesn't look phased really. So like maybe this is just their jokey dynamic. I don't know. But either way, it was like very, like I would be pissed obviously if this is my boyfriend, fiance, husband, whatever.
23:28Then I feel like she tries to give him in this clip, she tries to like give him a chance to redeem himself. And she goes, I'm cold. Can I have your jacket? And he says, no. Like what? And people were like resurfacing this clip and saying, thank God she's free from this man. And they ended up taking down this podcast episode. I'm sure there were like more examples of him being, you know, rude to her. But obviously, because of all these parasocial fans and no one can be normal, everyone is tearing this guy apart. And I do agree that this was like a fucked up way to speak to his fiance on a podcast, obviously.
24:01Yeah. I think you don't need to go on his Instagram and like harass him. Yeah. Like, and also how crazy to blow up suddenly. For him, it's like his fiance or ex-fiance. say for Mika it's like she is suddenly she has millions of fans I think Ella Bright who plays Hannah Wells Wellesie went from having under 10 ,000 Instagram followers she now has over 4 million whoa in this in the span of like a month like that is that is crazy that is all of these stars all of a sudden they are celebrities that have millions of fans basically overnight successes yeah literally yeah it's crazy and so it must be very jarring for everyone involved Jake Shore it looks like he is an actor, but maybe not as well known.
24:42I'm looking all these people up because I have no idea who you're talking about. Yes, he is an actor. He is an actor. But okay, anyway, so he ended up, both of them ended up releasing a statement, one joint statement, then he posted a statement on his Instagram this weekend. He said, I made a disrespectful juvenile joke in a clip that recirculated this week. It's imperative to me that I take accountability as I'm aware that it was inappropriate. It's not representative of who I am or who I was in my relationship, but I continue to learn from the situation, work to show people the respect they deserve.
Read the full transcript
25:13Obviously, you shouldn't have to like learn or work hard to show respect to your fiance. But like, sure, it's kind of like a throwaway statement, but they did a joint statement together and they said, we've seen a conversation around clips of us together when we were in a relationship and people making harmful and inaccurate assumptions about our dynamic. The former couple told Us Weekly that they were in a loving, respectful relationship for five years, and it's hurtful to see playful moments dissected in a way that does not reflect the respect and love we had and still have for each other. And obviously the way that he was speaking to her was not okay at all.
25:49Like the clip is very jarring. I posted it on our Instagram stories last week. So really disgusting way to speak to her. I also think it's like, can people chill out with like harassing these people? Like this must be extremely jarring for them. We actually don't know them. Like it's a clip. It's a bad clip, but it's one clip. Like we don't know them. Yeah. Yeah. I think that it's one thing to have an opinion about a man speaking to his fiance like that completely valid like that's dark yeah disgusting and it kind of gives danny bucco and yeah but at the same time it's like what time do you have to go onto his instagrams or harassing him like i i swear to i don't know who those people are i'd imagine it's like high schoolers like that's or bots i don't know but like who has the time to actually go hmm who is this person jake okay got it let me go on his instagram let me write something heinous on his comments like then it becomes who's worse now the man like we're all then we're all kind of culpable of being kind of an asshole at this point um harassing a stranger on the internet and also for this fucking guy who's talking to his girlfriend like that it's all bad so let's just not give into this like let's not be just as bad as this jake short guy talking to his girlfriend and stop harassing him that's just not cool nor is it normal it's just kind of it's just kind of bizarre obviously uh but you know do i I agree that how he acted was bad.
27:00Yes, absolutely. And I'm happy that Mika is free. And it's just ironic also because in the show, she has this kind of like, I don't know how to describe him. Henry watched it with me and he actually loved it. So if you haven't watched Off Campus yet, it's actually a show that your husband or boyfriend will enjoy also. But she has like this boyfriend in the show who he describes as a squid, who Henry describes as a squid. He's kind of like a loser. And he gets very threatened by her success and by her aspirations. And it's like, oh my God, did she have a Sean in real life? Like, is this, was he like threatened by her?
27:34We don't know. We actually don't know these people. It's just ironic that like she kind of shed what looked like baggage, this, you know, relationship, just like her character in the show. Yeah, well, again, we don't know these people. It kind of reminds me of, like, obviously this is different because she's controversial, but like when Sydney Sweeney blew up, right, she was engaged to that guy, Jonathan DeVino or whomever. And like, no one knew who he was. he was a producer in some capacity. He was a producer on that Glenn Powell movie that she did, but he was like a pizza owner in like the tri-state area.
28:02He was kind of like a normie. And then she blew up into success through the span of their engagement. And they ended up breaking up. How do you have a normal relationship with someone when your partner has skyrocketed into fame, has acquired so much wealth? I mean, I can't imagine it's easy. Like, I don't understand how you could actually sustain their relationship, honestly. It must be extremely jarring. And I know it works for like some couples, I'm sure. I know Paul, what's his name? Paul Anthony Kelly, who played JFK Jr. Yeah, he has been in a normal relationship and then he suddenly blew up and it seems like he is obviously doing well.
28:37And I'm sure there are tons of celebrities where this happens. You have to have like the right, a very, very, very strong relationship for this to work, I would say. Because it must be extremely destabilizing and just jarring. Yeah.

33:25Speaking of overnight successes, I want to quickly talk about this Hudson Williams swastika photo. Who's Hudson Williams? I keep hearing him. Is he also on this show? Oh my god, no, Christy, he was in Heated Rivalry. You've never watched Heated Rivalry and it pisses me off. Yes. You've never watched Heated Rivalry. You haven't watched Off Campus. Like, keep up. I know, I know. It's really bad. It's been a rough couple of months, guys, but yes, I want to hear more about this. Hudson Williams has completely blown up since he did Rivalry. I watched it, I think, in December of last year. So it's only been like six months now that he is completely, completely just skyrocketed to fame.
34:03So this photo was just resurfaced. I don't know who dug it out from his past or why this is just now resurfacing, but it is a photo of him. It It looks like a high school party where, and he's Canadian. So just for context, he's Canadian. Where, because I'm like, people are like, have you guys never been in high school before? I'm like, American high schools don't do this. Maybe it's a Canadian. I don't think it's a Canadian thing. But no one, this isn't normal, period. They're all writing all over each other. They signed, like he's covered in writing. Like people have signed their names on his shirt.
34:40And then on his neck, he has the word AIDS. And then on his forehead, he has a swastika. and a source, aka his team, told, or like a friend, it said, told TMZ that he had no idea there was a swastika on his head in this photo, which obviously someone else drew it, sure. But for him to not acknowledge it at all or the AIDS on his neck during Pride Month when he was in a show about a gay relationship and just kind of brush it off as I didn't know, like you're kind of feigning ignorance and like skirting accountability, which kind of gives me the ick about it. It's like you should acknowledge, oh, my God, like I was a, you know, teenagers do stupid shit.
35:22We know that. Teenagers, whatever. So what I thought was really interesting, because I'm like, he's hanging out with people who draw swastikas for fun and he like didn't think to look at himself or look at his, you know, his phone before posing for a picture. OK, sure. If we want to believe that. Another picture from this party resurfaced. I'm going going to put this on the document also. Hitler mustache at the same party. Someone has a Hitler mustache that was drawn on and then someone is doing a Hitler salute. And this is the same party. So you are basically at a Nazi party. That is not a normal high school.
35:55And there's so many people defending him and saying, oh my God, come on. Like, have you, have you guys never been to a high school party? I don't know what kind of high school parties you guys were going to. We weren't fucking being Nazis. I had to Google how old he is. He's 25. Like the generation below us, I'm sorry, is far more socially aware and like politically aware and far more woke than I think we understood to be at their age. This is like not appropriate. You know way better. And listen, this would have been bad if we were at a party that was doing this. I don't think we were having the same conversations as we are today.
36:31Like there is no literally no excuse for this. This is jarring and disgusting. Well, it's like it'd be one thing if like I mean, it wouldn't even be one think if it was just the swastika. It's the fact that like he was clearly at this party where people are doing Nazi salutes and drawing Hitler mustaches and drawing swastikas. It's like, okay, like we're going to just excuse this and act like it's like not a big deal. And he's going to put out a statement that's like not even, he's not even putting out a statement. A friend of his is putting out a statement saying he had no idea. It's like a total lack of accountability that is such an ick for me.
37:01And of course, like I said, teenagers do stupid shit and you are capable of growth. Do I think that he needs to be banished into the woods forever or like tarred and feathered? No, but just like take accountability also as like a Jewish person. Like just I'm like, yeah, these symbols are offensive. So I can personally say that it is offensive and that I think accountability is necessary here and then we can move on from it. But it's like without the accountability, it's just kind of like, fuck you. And I think that this is a perfect example because obviously these photos have been making the rounds and there's a lot of discourse about it online.
37:33This is the perfect example of who we pick and choose to hold accountable based on how much we like the person in question. Because just read the comments on any post about it. Absolutely coddling him. We even, I post about it on our Instagram. We even got DMs like, leave him alone. Oh my God. Like, don't worry about it. Like, let's just let it go. It's Hudson. Like, he's so sweet. Why? Like, why are we coddling this grown man? Like, and again, I'm not saying that he should be tarred and feathered. I'm saying, no, he fucked up and he could acknowledge that he did something harmful, just like anyone else who has gotten caught with their tail between the legs for having N-word tweets or whatever it is from when they're younger.
38:08It's the same thing. What's the difference? Yeah, and I'm looking at his ethnicity because, again, I'm not familiar with this guy, but he's half Korean. Yes, he's half Asian. You know what it's like to be marginalized or to be targeted, be at the receiving end of racial slurs. Like, that's not very empathetic of you, Hudson Williams. Yeah. This is very dark. I don't like this. And I genuinely cannot remember high school or not. When was the last time you were at a party where people were doing Hitler's mustaches and signs and like that's not a thing. Thankfully, I can say never. But again, maybe it's because I'm Jewish.
38:44Maybe as soon as I left, everyone was like, okay, the Jew's out of here. Let's get out and look for all the Hitler's mustaches. Yeah, it's just, I mean, that's very odd. It's bizarre. And people have also, like, there are some Letterboxd things of his that have surfaced, but I'm not sure of the veracity of them. He has said that most of these Letterboxd reviews that people have found probably, there's like one Lolita one where he talks about Lolita. I don't know if that's real, so I'm not even going to bring that up. There was like a Finsta that he was maybe like the N-word was being used. Again, I don't know the veracity of any of these claims, so I'm not going to bring that into this conversation.
39:20But it seems like there are other things that have come up about him and his fans kind of hand wave it away. But this is I'm just looking at the facts in front of me. And like this is bad and this is offensive. And I think it's like, again, we can move on from it as long as you acknowledge it. But if he doesn't acknowledge it, then I'm just going to be mad. Yeah. You remember that one picture? This is years ago, probably like before 2010, maybe. Taylor Swift took a photo of someone who was wearing a swastika on his T-shirt. Do you know what I'm talking about? um oh my god it is ringing a bell for sure heard um oh god it's really bad yeah no one talks about it but it seems like taylor swift herself has even attended a party i just put it on the document oh you don't yeah it's oh my god no it's really remember this i do remember this why why does he it looks like a paint party like they were all painting why is that okay so it's like the same thing with the hudson williams thing where they're like drawing on each other and at this taylor party.
40:18It looks like they're painting on each other. Why? Like, why is that someone's instinct to paint or draw a swastika? I'm sorry. I don't know. And who is this man? Like, who is this man? Ugly. He's also ugly. Yeah, he's like really ugly. So there's that. Pick a struggle. Yeah. Also, Jersey Shore, when she was like, he's like, what are you going to say, Mike, that I'm fat, that I'm fat? I can lose weight for free. It takes$50 ,000 to fix your face like it'll take oh my god it's so true it's so true okay this guy this guy ugly yeah and and wearing a swastika like and also the hudson williams fans that are trying to do like uh they're trying to kind of shoehorn this really innocuous they're like guys it's a buddhist symbol because the swastika was appropriated from buddhism and turned into what we see it as now which is a hate symbol.
41:11It was originally, you know, a Buddhist symbol. But like now we all associate it with Nazis. I'm sorry. You can't like. Okay, well now we don't do that anymore. I mean, my mom is Buddhist and I didn't even know that. And even if I did see that, I wouldn't be like, well, listen, you guys, he was actually embodying the Buddhist principle. Like shut up. Yeah, like please. Let's twist ourselves into a pretzel more. Give me a break. Yes. And his fans literally on Twitter were trying to say that. And then that's when the photos resurface of the Hitler mustache and the Nazi salute. It's like they're just doing peaceful Buddhist gestures.
41:42Like, please, come on. Because, you know, actually that mustache was actually a Buddhist mustache as well. It's actually a Charlie Chaplin mustache. Yeah, right, right, right. Let's keep making excuses. If it looks like a duck, if it clacks like a duck, it's a duck. But it's crazy because, like, if this were—think about any female celebrity. Like, someone was like, remember how Brie Larson was canceled for, like, sounding arrogant in an interview? you it's like the way that our society and our stan culture will always prop up these men and tear down women and i'm sorry more of the story is that most celebrities would not be able to get away with this and i think that it's the fact that this is the perfect example of like picking and choosing who we decide to get mad at based on how much we like them what what he's doing here in these photos there's physical evidence of him being extremely extremely offensive but like yeah i don't know yeah i mean this guy's weird i'm sorry i didn't watch he told rivalry so i have no skin in the game i don't have any opinions about this man but now indefinitely i will think about hudson williams with a swastika on his forehead and no i've never gone to a party like that and heated rivalry is a great show and i think he's very talented and again yeah yeah yeah whatever grow up and make mistakes it's just like it pisses me off the lack of accountability here and like him trying to hand wipe it away.
43:02Okay. Speaking of Taylor Swift, should we talk about the MSG rumors that her and Travis Kelsey are getting married at Madison Square Garden, allegedly? When I first saw this on TMZ, I thought it was, I was like, wait a minute, is it April Fool's today? Like I genuinely was like, huh? Okay, that's odd. Maybe they just got the wrong information, whatever. And then I continue to see it on news source after news source. And then I'm wondering, is this in fact real? And you are under the belief that it It is not. I feel like what happened to that story that Taylor Swift bought out someone to get married on June 13th so she could get married on that day at that venue?
43:35I thought that was like a validated route. But now no one's getting married to MSG unless she bought out like the Knicks from playing. I don't get it. I don't know. I don't I don't think it's real. So it came from TMZ. And usually I do trust TMZ because they are they verify everything. I'm sorry. Love them or hate them. like TMZ is a legit news source, in my opinion. It seems like my first thought was this is a planned COI agreement where it's like they're putting out false information on purpose and TMZ knows it's false, but they're putting out this information in order to distract people from what is really the plan.
44:11But I saw people online saying they were actually putting the pieces together and saying, this sounds insane because why would the most famous person on the planet get married in the middle of Manhattan. But apparently MSG actually has the infrastructure to keep things more private than anywhere else like in the world because it has underground tunnel access. So there's no way that anyone could photograph them from above. It has a covered roof. So there's no possibility of, again, like drones or whatever it is. And apparently Madison Square Garden has like a calendar and they don't have anything publicly booked for those supposed dates, which is making people suspicious that it is booked for the wedding.
44:56And that's why there is nothing on the calendar for those dates. Who knows? Obviously, I would prefer to not be at Madison Square Garden. I know it's not, you know, not to make it about me, but I live here and I think it would turn Manhattan into a fucking shit show. And people would stake out outside. Like, even if they weren't able to see anything, people would still stake out outside because it's Taylor Swift. Yeah, yeah. I mean, this is probably one of the biggest events in pop culture in the last 50 years. Like, genuinely, this is the biggest deal ever. And like you said, to get married in Manhattan, it doesn't seem correct.
45:27And also, if you understand and you have followed Taylor Swift for a long time, as I have, this doesn't seem to be her vibe. Me talking like I know her, but she's like a cozy, coastal kind of girl. She doesn't want this. I don't know. this just does not seem aligned with her values and her her aesthetics but like you said maybe it is the perfect the perfect way to get married like you said there's a lot of privacy but i don't know this just doesn't seem in line with anything she would agree to and i feel like they are trying to point us and steer us in the incorrect direction so that they can get a yeah private wedding but if you have to think about it it's june 8 if she used to get married june 13th like we originally thought in five days from now so saturday of this week her guests have to know but They have to be on an ironclad NDA.
46:10And she's also apparently invited over a thousand people. So you have to have a thousand people shutting their mouths. But we all, those a thousand guests that got invited have to know the date. So you have to remember, they have to keep everyone silent. A thousand people is insane, first of all. Like that is so many fucking people. So there's that. Also, Rishi Patel is the event designer that apparently has been hired for the wedding. And he's one of the top event designers in the world. So it's like if anyone can transform Madison Square Garden from a fucking basketball stadium to like a gorgeous wedding venue, it's probably him.
46:45So I can see people kind of trying to rationalize it and saying, you know what, this doesn't sound completely incorrect. But yeah, I'm not really buying it right now. Yeah. I mean, I cannot wait for the photos to come out because remember when Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, when they got married, the photos got turned around that same day. Like they were trying to get ahead of it. So Paps wouldn't actually release any photos preemptively before them. So I think they took control over it. And we're like, listen, we know you guys care about this. People Magazine, here you go. I really hope that Taylor at least proves this all wrong.
47:13And it was like, jokes on you guys. It's not an MSG. I'm actually getting married in coastal Maine or wherever, Rhode Island, wherever it may be. I look forward to the photos and I can't. Yeah. And I mean, if anyone loves to do like Easter eggs and like trick her fans and like put them on a wild goose chase, it's Taylor Swift. Someone called her Jigsaw on a blonde wig.
47:35she's jigsaw on a long way oh my god um i just put that together that the saw movies is jigsaw jigsaw yeah like yeah it's a play on the name of that that perpetrator like i just put that
47:48Jake Shane:together the perpetrator the part oh my god um it's finally summer which means all of us hopefully most of us are going to be spending a lot more time outside touching grass and when was the last time you upgraded your outdoor furniture situation. Wayfair is your one-stop shop for outdoor seating, grills, appliances, patio lighting, storage, rugs, decor, you name it. Everything you need to make your outdoor area the best seat in the house. We only have an itty-bitty balcony in New York City, but thanks to Wayfair, we made the most of our tiny space with a perfect little bistro set and twinkle lights.
48:22Jake Shane:I'm so excited it's finally warm enough to use it again. My favorite thing to do during the warm weather months is have coffee and breakfast out there with Baxter on sunny mornings, it's my favorite start to the day and it wouldn't be possible without my Wayfair furniture. I also really appreciate that Wayfair has installation and assembly services because outdoor furniture can be heavy and intimidating to assemble. It makes the experience truly seamless and stress-free. But my favorite part about Wayfair, you don't have to take out a freaking loan or remortgage your house just to make your space as gorgeous as possible.
48:51Jake Shane:Especially if you, like me, are not in your forever home yet and you don't want to splurge on major investment pieces, I love how affordable everything at Wayfair is. Patio season is here and these deals won't last. Head to Wayfair.com right now to get your outdoor space ready for way less. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R.com. Wayfair, every style, every home. I've been a diehard TaskRabbit stan long before they were a sponsor. I cannot remember the last time I moved without enlisting a tasker, whether it was for assembling furniture, mounting a TV, hanging artwork or shelves, the list goes on. And it's not just during a move where your to-do list can feel like it's 10 pages long.
49:29Jake Shane:Sometimes I really just need an extra hand for those little things I feel like I never end up getting around to myself, like hanging the collage wall I promised myself I'd do for months. Wherever you are, TaskRabbit is here to help. TaskRabbit connects you with skilled taskers in your area for moving, furniture assembly, home repairs, yard work, mounting, you name it. You can search for a tasker based on cost, skill set, availability, and past client reviews, so you know exactly who's showing up and can have confidence they know what they're doing. Taskers have assembled over 3.4 million pieces of furniture, completed 700 ,000 home repairs, handled 1.5 million moves, and counting.
50:04Jake Shane:It's okay to ask for help with your to-do list. In fact, it's the most efficient way to get things done, in my humble opinion. When life happens, your to-do list grows. Get ahead of it now and get$15 off your first task at TaskRabbit.com or on the TaskRabbit app using promo code SNARK. Taskers book up fast, especially for same-day tasks, so book trusted home help today. That's$50 off your first task using promo code SNARK with the TaskRabbit app or at TaskRabbit.com. I unfortunately have had very bad shaving experiences, from red bumps and ingrown hairs to cuts and razor burn. But just because I'm a hairy Jewish girl does not mean I have to settle for a horrible shaving experience.
50:41Jake Shane:And as soon as I discovered Flamingo, I realized I don't have to suffer any longer. Seriously, I've been a fan of Flamingo since before they became a podcast sponsor. With Flamingo, my leg shaping experience is smooth, gentle, and luxurious, not bumpy, rough, and painful. Also, the shave is so close. I used to immediately feel stubble after getting out of the shower. Literally, I'm not exaggerating. It was immediate. And now, just silky smoothness. Flamingo razors feel like they're working with my body and the contours of my legs instead of against them. and it makes all the difference. Finally, shaving is a ritual I enjoy rather than dread.
51:15Jake Shane:The best part about Flamingo, these razors are made for women by women. These aren't men's razors made pink. They're specifically designed for girlies like us to be able to easily grip and use. Their starter set has everything you could possibly need. Flamingo's original razor, a facial dermaplane razor, my personal favorite, foaming shave gel, and a shower holder, all for just$7 if you're a baby snark. Yes, you heard that right, and shipping is free. This is not a drill. For a limited time, our listeners can get the Flamingo's starter set for only$7 at shopflamingo.com slash snark. The set includes the Flamingo Original Razor, one five-blade cartridge, a one-ounce foaming shave gel, and a shower holder.
51:53Jake Shane:Just head to shopflamingo.com slash snark to claim this offer. And after you purchase, they'll ask where you heard about them. Please support our show and tell them we sent you. So good, so good, so good. New markdowns up to 70 % off are at Nordstrom Rack stores now. Stock up and stay big on shoes, tops, dresses, accessories, and more must-haves for summer. Join the Nordiclub to unlock exclusive discounts, shop new arrivals first, and more. Plus, buy online and pick up at your favorite rack store for free. Great brands, great prices. That's why you rack. Okay, well, should we get into DEOs and LEOs?
52:31You start. Yes. So my dark energy object this week is the phrase pinch me moment. Shut up. People who use it on social media, shut up. I just, I hate that phrase. I'm sorry. It's like so obnoxious. It's like, what a pinch me moment. It kind of gives the same energy when people personify locations. London, you look beautiful. London, you were good to us. Yeah, yeah, yeah. London, you really showed up for me. Like London, the weather, I don't know. It's just like when people personify locations on their Instagram stories, enough. There's like one girl that I'm thinking of in particular. She's like friend of a friend.
53:04And I'm just going to keep it as vague as possible. It's always a friend of a friend, by the way. It's always a friend of a friend. And every single time she posts on social media, it's some sort of braggy accomplishment or moment or trip or something where she's like, what a pinch. What a surreal pinch me moment. Save it. Like, it just, like, bothers me. So that's my DEO of the week. My LEO, I have two LEOs of the week. One split pea soup. Yeah. Hits every time. I'm sorry. Hits every time. I don't care that it's summer. I have been eating so much split pea soup lately. I get it from my favorite split pea soup is from this place Eli's that also is like the best mac and cheese Eli's essentials on the Upper East Side so go there for the mac and cheese and the split pea soup even though it's very expensive I went there the other day and I got mac and cheese split pea soup and a shepherd's pie for Henry so good like such good like pre-made things for when we don't feel like cooking but we still want something like you know homemade-ish right I was like I I before I even checked out at the counter I was like I'm never gonna financially recover from this.
54:05It was$52 for those three things. But it's so good. Everything there is really good, but like those three things are all amazing. And I just love split pea soup. And then my mother-in-law, when I was home a couple of weeks ago at my in-laws, she was like, I heard you're craving split pea soup. And she made some from scratch because she's like the best cook. And it was so good. And then she sent us home with like a whole thing of split pea soup. And it's just like the best. And I feel like a baby when I eat it because it's kind of like baby food texture. It is. Yeah, it's like pureed soup, kind of.
54:34It's pureed. And when it's like cold, it's like a solid, like it's like molded into the bowl. Yeah, yes, yes. But it's so good, you guys. And it's so healthy. It's really good for you. Lots of nutrients. You know what I had? That's my LAO. So there's this local Mexican food place by my house. And it's like family owned. It's been owned and operated by this family for years. And I got menudo from there. And it's just like, it's so good. I want to try their pozole next. What's manuto? I love pazzoli. What's manuto? It's, so like, I feel like maybe never had this. It's kind of, when I say this, people are going to be grossed out.
55:10But if you know, you know. It basically has like the... Beef tripe. Beef tripe. Beef tripe, yeah. Okay. It's a very unique... Which is cow's stomach. Like cow's stomach, yeah. Yeah. Like growing up Asian, like we would eat that. So a lot of people, people were probably like, what? No, a lot of people, yeah. Yeah. It's really good. And it was kind of the spice to it. And I don't know. I just love this Mexican food place. And I don't know. I know all the people there. I know the owner. Oh, Helen knows the owner. So that's my light energy object. Coupled with, I'm reading this fabulous book. I surround myself with a fabulous group of people called Case Histories by Kate Atkinson.
55:49And sometimes when I just want to get back into my reading era, I'll just scroll the Libby app and feel like, okay, what book is available now? So I can just read it on my Kindle immediately and not have to be in a wait line for like months. And I just came across this random book and Stephen King said this is like one of like his favorite books of all time. I was like the reviewer and I was like, if Stephen King signs off on it, I'm going to sign off on it. And it's basically a story. It's a couple of stories that ultimately they're like interwoven. And it's like a horror novel where like it's murder, it's missing people, and all stories kind of come together.
56:21And like 20 % of the way in, but it's very good. It takes place in England and the writer just, she writes the story so beautifully. And so I feel like I'm in England in like the 90s. Obsessed. My dark energy object, and I want to say this with a lot of care because I don't want to sound like I hate commenting on women's bodies. Something with Ariana Grande is deeply triggering and it's actually starting to concern me. And watching her on the Eternal Sunshine tour, listen, I'm like a huge Ariana Grande stan, okay? I saw her live on the Sweetener tour, I think in 2018 when she performed in San Jose.
56:55Ariana Grande is one of my favorite artists. I love her music. Since Honeymoon Avenue era, I am deeply concerned for her well-being. And seeing her on stage, panting and out of breath, her voice sounds incredible. But someone on her team needs to intervene. And it kind of reminds me of Half-Baked Harvest when she was on her book tour. And people were very concerned. They're like, dude, you shouldn't be traveling and having your body enduring all this. But with Ariana Grande, it's even more concerning because she's on stage for hours at a time. dancing and singing, I'm actually concerned she might faint.
57:23And I just hope she deeply gets the help that she needs. And I think the fact that she is wearing the kind of outfits that she is against dancers with bigger bodies than her, it's almost even more stark, the contrast. And I just, I don't know how to delicately say this, but it's just, it's concerning, period. And I want her to be healthy and better. And something is happening. And I just hope she seeks help. Yeah, she doesn't She doesn't look well. And there's been a lot of discourse about it because this was like the first show. Leg of the tour, yeah. Yeah, the first leg of the tour. And there's been a ton of discourse about it because it is pretty shocking when you see her.
58:01And again, just saying it out of a place of care for her. And I think that people, you know, are reminded a little bit of Karen Carpenter. Yes. And it's like, it's obviously just, it's sad. And we wish the best for her. And I think that, you know, people denying that there is a problem are not helping the situation. I don't know, but we're not helping the situation either. I don't know what there is to say that could be helpful. But I think, yes, there has been a lot of discourse about how unwell she looks and she looks unwell. Yeah. And I just wish her the best. Yeah. And I think what's troubling, too, is just when you are that sick, it's almost fuel when people are talking about it like this.
58:42And how thin you look. Yeah. It's fuel. So that's why I try not to. I never like to come out on anyone's body, period. I think here there is a lot of discourse about it. And I think we would be remiss not to mention it because it has been all over the internet, obviously. And it is very concerning. And people just want her to be okay and to survive. Yes, yes. And I think at this point, I think she, yeah, I just want her to be well. I want her to seek help immediately because I don't want to see one of my favorite artists like kind of disappearing before my eyes. Like she needs to be hospitalized, I think, period.
59:16So I want her to find that. And I don't even want to be on tour because I don't want to support this right now. Even though I love her and I really am excited for Petal, the album that's coming out very soon. I love that song, I Hate That You Made You Love Me, which clearly is about Ethan Slater, which, I mean, that's a whole other story in and of itself. dark, sinister. Even later, though, I see the vision. Unfortunately, I see the vision. Huh. Well, OK, that's good. So on a lighter note, really fast, I have one more LEO. Yeah. Widows Bay on Apple TV. Dude, I want to watch it so badly. I heard it's so good.
59:52You guys have to watch. It's so fucking good. So I actually we have a newsletter that goes out every Friday and it's linked to our show notes, our sub stack. And I was like, I haven't started it yet. So this is kind of a cop out, but I'm plugging the show that I've heard such good things about. And I think that, you know, it's been the talk of the town. I'm really excited to watch it. By the time the news, I wrote that on Thursday during the day. By the time the newsletter went out the next day, I had already caught up and binged the entire show. It's so, it's so fucking good. You guys, it's like Ryan Bailey, trigger warning, described it really well.
1:00:23He was like, it's a Stephen King novel meets workplace comedy starring Matthew Reese, who has such underratedly good comedic timing. Like, he's so funny. The Beast of Me, you guys. The Beast of Me, yeah. It has really, really, and The Americans, which I haven't watched, but I want to. Everyone says it's really good. But, like, it has its, like, funny moments, and then it's, like, really creepy and eerie and scary. And, like, I just, it's so good, you guys. I don't want to say too much. You guys just have to watch it yourself. It's on Apple TV. And it's funny because I have, like, a notes app of, like, dark energy objects and light energy objects that I like write down just throughout the week or whenever I think of them.
1:01:00And I have LEO, Widow's Bay. Well, first I had DEO, Apple TV, who watches these shows. Dude, Justice for Apple TV. And then right under that, I wrote Widow's Bay. Honestly, Justice for Apple TV because they actually produce some of the best shows, but their marketing is not on point. Yes, that's what it is. There's this, okay, there's this show and I have talked about it all the time. I don't know why it didn't get its flowers. Defending Jacob with Mary from Downton Abbey and Chris Evans. It is one of my favorite shows ever. It's basically about Chris Evans. He's a prosecutor in, I think, Boston.
1:01:35His young son, who's like 12, 13 years old, one of his son's classmates was murdered and found in like a park. And his son is the number one suspect. And he was on the case, but obviously he had to be removed because his son is the number one suspect. And you reconcile, did the son do it or did he not? And it just talks about like the trouble behind the scenes with like basically him and his wife trying to figure out, is our son capable of this? And like you're waffling back and forth as to whether the son is actually culpable or not. It's amazing. Defending Jacob, it released in 2020. I don't know why it didn't get more flowers.
1:02:04Okay, and on Rotten Tomatoes, 70%. So vindicated. Okay, fair. Fair. Remember Presumed Innocent with Jake Gyllenhaal? Jake Gyllenhaal. Yeah, great show. It tried to be like Defending Jacob. Defending Jacob was a million times better. Let's see how Presumed Innocent's run. But yeah, I think with Apple TV, it's the fact that they have all these expensive big budget shows and they don't market them so i'm like what like it's just so weird like i'm sorry who watches the morning show no like jennifer aniston and reese witherspoon who is watching i'm sorry it like creeps me out like like why are there these big shows that like to my knowledge no one is watching like it's it's giving like money laundering scheme like i don't really get it but they have like six seasons by the way yeah like i i don't i don't get it i'm sorry and now we're gonna the biggest morning show stands are going to come out of the woodwork.
1:02:49Just like when we talked about Vanderpump Villa, everyone was like, I love that show. Just so you know, The Morning Show was an Emmy-nominated show. Oh, okay. Well, it doesn't mean that anyone watched it. No, genuinely. But yeah, Widow's Bay is so good. And there is a new Apple TV show that I actually, I've been seeing previews of because I've been watching Widow's Bay on Apple TV, Cape Fear with Javier Bardem, Amy Adams, and Patrick Wilson. And I want to watch it so bad because obviously, you know, it's a classic. The original Cape Fear with Robert De Niro, I think. So good. So creepy. I'm excited.
1:03:27It looks really good. And I heard that Amy Adams is amazing in it. And I'm just I'm I'm sad she can't win an Oscar finally for this because it's a TV show because she deserves one. Yeah, no, she's amazing. She's really good in sharp objects. OK, well, that's all she wrote. If you guys are coming to the New York or Chicago Live shows this Friday and Sunday. We're excited to see you. Patreon bonus content every week. This week we're doing an AMA. Sophie asks me all the heavy hitting questions. And then next week we're doing an episode on the success of Road versus Kylie Cosmetics and why one worked and why one didn't.
1:03:59And Substack, YouTube, all that Instagram all in our show notes. And we're looking forward to seeing you guys tomorrow on Patreon or Thursday for another deep dive. Love you so much. Or in real life this weekend. Can't wait. Love you guys. Bye. Bye.
