In short

The episode is a pop-culture roundtable mixing celebrity updates, podcast/marketing drama, and media ethics. They start with “Dark Energy” sponsors and then discuss Taylor Swift’s TS12 rollout and her long-form New Heights interview with Travis Kelce, arguing it was unusually candid and supports the “endgame” narrative. They also joke about a TikTok audio that parodies “Life of a Showgirl,” and compare Taylor’s “normal” millennial quirks (e.g., sourdough hobbies) to her usual privacy.

Next, they cover Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy using a viral audio clip from the hosts, sparking debate about TikTok credit. They then criticize Kristin Cavallari for discussing sexual rumors on her podcast, and revisit Matt Rife’s controversy: a domestic-violence-related joke and an ELF campaign that drew backlash.

They also debate Bravo’s Valley reunion being too dark, and discuss Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz vow renewal rumors about family rifts.

0:00Most people don't realize how much their personal information is being bought and sold every day. Data brokers are making billions, pulling details about you from public records and the internet, and then packaging and selling it, usually without your consent. That's how your information lands in the hands of scammers, spammers, even stalkers. It's why you get endless robocalls and why ads seem to follow you everywhere. That's where Aura comes in. Aura actively removes your data from broker sites and keeps it off. They also instantly alert you if your information shows up in a breach or on the dark web.

0:30But Aura goes beyond data protection. With one app, you get a VPN, antivirus, password manager, spam call protection, dark web monitoring, and even up to$5 million in identity theft insurance, all backed by 24-7 U.S.-based fraud support. Other companies might sell just credit monitoring or just a VPN. Aura gives you all of it, together, at the same price competitors charge for just one service. 1:13Christy Noel:Hey everybody, welcome back to another episode of Dark Energy Tuesday. Wow, we are here live and in color in person for the second time. How are you feeling about this? I'm Sophie. I'm Christy. And if you guys are watching on YouTube, we are in the Cloud 10 studios today. And we have our whole team behind us, behind the camera here. It feels amazing. We're at our Los Angeles retreat. And there's nowhere I'd rather be than here. I know. It's crazy when we're like IRL. It's just so different. It's weird because we always record on Zoom. home and to be in person at this like very fancy studio with like lighting and our backdrop.

1:54It's a different vibe here. Yes, it is. How are you doing, Christy?

1:59Christy Noel:Well, it's been quite the last couple of days. I'm not going to lie. Not here. Just like personally. And I'm going to be honest. Life can be fucking hard. Okay. And Mercury was retrograding incredibly hard. Yes, it was. And it was, I'm like not ready to talk about it, but it was like a very difficult week for me. Probably like one of the most difficult in a very long time. So I think that it was really meaningful to have Sophie, Jordan, Rachel, Olivia all around me during this time. My therapist was telling me, she's like, I think it's really great that you're going to be with your friends who understand you, who you can be yourself with.

2:33Christy Noel:Because the thing is about the Snark Bay girls, about Sophie and I, is we talk in this language that only few understand. And if you are a baby snark, you too will understand that language. Yeah, it's been a lot of giggles. the past few days. Yeah. Which has been, it's just been giggly and fun. Yeah. And this is the first time I'm meeting like all the teams. So that's been really great too. Sophie has met all of them except, well, you're meeting Rachel, our social manager, for the first time. Yes. But Olivia and Jordan and I have hung out with before. So it's just fun. It's like the gang is back together.

3:09The gang is back together. We have so many things on our outline, by the way, that we used to put. But wait, but how are you really quickly? Like, how are you feeling over the last couple of days now that Mercury is out of. I have also had a rough week with Mercury and retrograde. It's been a lot. It's been a lot. And actually, speaking of Mercury and retrograde, I downloaded, I was telling Christy this. I was like, oh, I thought I downloaded the Taylor Swift on the New Heights podcast. What the hell is it called again? New Heights. I'm like the Kelsey Brothers podcast, New Heights. I thought I downloaded it.

3:40It never ended up downloading. So I didn't get to listen to it on the flight, which is what I planned. And I haven't. it's just been go go go since I've gotten here out to California so I haven't been able to listen to it yet thankfully Christy has yes um so yeah let's talk about it yeah yeah so obviously we all

3:56Christy Noel:know Taylor dropped TS12 the life of a showgirl and she announced it on her boyfriend can you just please tell the audience you guys okay so there's this tiktoker what's her name um hope on TikTok. What's her like actual handle? Hold on. I'm going to find it. And she basically is like, this is how Life of a Showgirl is going to sound. The life of a showgirl goes as follows. And then Sabrina Carpenter is going to come and say, hey, you want to be a showgirl? And like it's so accurate. It's a fake made up song for the record. Like it's not like a leak of like the real album. It might as well have been a leak.

4:37Exactly. It sounds so accurate. And we've been singing it non-stop and Jordan is like you guys are singing a fake song and it's like yeah we know like all morning we're just like the life of the show it's hope godwin 12 on tiktok so she's been so funny but if you guys are unfamiliar she did a tiktok back she's like um Haley with the Justin Bieber Selena that sounded so accurate yeah she has a really good Justin Bieber impression it's It's honestly spot on. Like we're not trying to be like exaggerative. Like she is spot on with her impression. Exaggerative. And so she had like that Justin Bieber edit thing.

5:18And so Sophie and I were joking and all the comments on TikTok were like Taylor's back in the studio.

5:23Christy Noel:Because we just we leaked her trap. Damn it. She's deleting it as we speak. So we've been having a lot of fun just joking around about that. Shout out to Hope who's just hilarious on TikTok. But a couple things I want to talk about. it's crazy that Taylor Swift has historically in the decades that she's been in show business has been so close to the best when it comes to her relationships I mean as recently as Joe Alwyn who she was with for five years we never heard a peep we never heard really acknowledgements about him I think like maybe once at a Grammy award I apologies if I'm getting this incorrect but she might have shouted him out once but she's very private and the fact that one we got insight into her podcast release I mean excuse me her album release on a podcast no less and then two she had a very candid loose fitting interview with Jason and Travis where we've never heard her speak in that long form way in how long I don't think ever ever yeah ever and I think that what a lot of us took away from it was she is such a millennial cringe person.

6:28Yeah she is like corny and cringe and everyone loves her for it.

6:32Christy Noel:Yes she's unapologetically herself. She's not trying to be a Hailey Bieber influencer like clean girl aesthetic like she was talking about sourdough bread and how she was making sourdough. The crazy thing about Taylor Swift is that she never does any long-form content interviews. She has never done anything like a Barbara I was going to say Barbara Streisand. Barbara Walters. Thank you. Or Diane Sawyer type of interview. She certainly has never gone on to a podcast. And for her to go on a podcast, release TS-12, and have a two and a half hour interview with her boyfriend and his brother in such a candid manner was shocking for us to see.

7:09Christy Noel:And she was talking about like how to make sourdough bread and her hyper fixations and her hobbies that she does when she left the heiress tour. And she was saying, I have hobbies that most would find interesting if you lived in the 1920s yeah she's just like a weirdo but I think that's why she is so relatable to so many women in the U.S. yes exactly that's why she is such a die-hard fan base I feel like yes because she's just so like normal normal and it's weird because she is the biggest star on the planet and no matter where she goes what she does it will be fixated on yeah picked apart photographed and one I can't imagine living that kind of lifestyle but two I can't imagine being as normal as she is while being under that kind of microscope for as long as she has been oh yeah totally and I was asking because like literally everyone is listening to the podcast except me by now and I was asking I was like do you guys think that like just based on this episode did you get the impression that they're endgame and everyone was like unequivocally yes and she would not have done this if he wasn't and if she didn't know for a fact that they would end up together yeah shannon from fluently forward posted a tiktok i think this morning that i watched before we went out today and she basically said that exact thing like she thinks that they are actually secretly engaged because taylor wouldn't do something as serious and as publicly as she did if she were not locked into a relationship forever with this man which would mean an engagement what whether that's true or not like i feel like she knows right at their end game and you know what i had been saying I was like I don't I think they're really cute together and great together and they seem very happy but I always just thought that Travis was too much of a player for him to ultimately settle down do you wait does he have that reputation well did you watch Catching Kelsey we were talking about it I guess someone on our team said that Catching Kelsey was the one thing in his career that he regretted the most yeah I do remember that the premise oh my god I remember like watching that live like I remember the finale happened I was like oh my god I have to get home and watch it um racing home after school yeah no literally it was like 2016 I want to say but either way I just was like he's kind of like a player like he's an end of maybe it's not like him it's just the fact that he's like an NFL star right and so before this podcast I was like you know what I would bet probably my life savings no and now after this podcast I mean again I haven't listen to it but from what I've heard about it everyone says that they're a hundred percent end game and I believe it yeah and he was describing how they met and I love that they actually put the rumors to bed and they're like this is what happened Travis admitted that he shot a shot on new heights on his podcast and Taylor said you know you really use your podcast as a dating app and fortunately for you it worked and it got my attention and she said there were like mumblings around both of their respective teams of Travis wanting to meet Taylor.

10:06Christy Noel:And she said it intrigued her, but she wasn't sure about it. And it was interesting to hear her say that even family members of hers, like extended families, cousins, were saying, yeah, Taylor, you have to go out with him. Like, he's cool. He seems normal. He seems unproblematic. And she decided to just go for it and then look where it got them. So I thought that was cool for them to admit how it happened because there was always so much rumbling. Is this PR? Is it not? What do you think about that, by the way, that people say it was PR? I mean anything that Taylor does is going to get PR like it's just anything she does is going to get attention yeah like that I feel like maybe that was my hesitation with Travis is that I was like is he using her like I just I didn't I don't know maybe it's also because I don't like the Chiefs yeah sorry Olivia so I don't know I've never been like a huge fan of his I was like is he using her for PR I don't think it would be PR on her end because anything she does gets attention she doesn't need like a fake relationship that's actually a good point you bring up because so many people do clock Travis as being very thirsty yeah so I think it's not outside the realm of possibility that him linking himself up with Taylor initially was maybe a little not all for clout but like he knew what he was doing when he was getting hooked up with like the most famous person in the world well yeah and he's at the age where he's about to retire yeah he's like 36 ish now he's 35 he's regardless in his mid-30s 35 36 he's at the age where he is you know in the twilight of his career everyone is speculating that he's like teeing himself up like he was just in the happy go more too yes like he's teeing himself up for a successful career in show business when he retires and I think that the Taylor Swift relationship aligns with that.

11:53But again, I'm not saying that it's disingenuous or that, you know, it's not legit. I just have always questioned his motives and maybe, again, it's because I just don't like the chiefs.

12:04Christy Noel:You have like a bias and you're willing to admit it. So you don't know if you're biased or not. I admit it fully. Yeah, so I'm looking forward for your thoughts once you get the chance to watch it. But in any case, like, you guys have all read the headlines. Take from it what you will. I think the majority of the consensus is that everyone is really into it. And it painted Taylor in an even better light, I think. And they seemed very cute and lovey-dovey. Yes. And again, just from the clips I saw, they were so cutesy and like in love. Yeah. So you know what? We love love. We love love. Who doesn't?

12:35Yeah. What do you want to talk about next? Okay, wait. I just want to quickly touch on – I know that – I know what you're going to say. Do you know what I'm going to say? K-Cav? Oh, I thought you were going to say AC. Oh. Okay, I'll start with that. Yeah. Alex Cooper, you guys, you may have seen this. If you follow us on Instagram or me on Instagram or subscribe to our Patreon where I ranted about it. Enough. Alex Cooper used my audio. She sure did. She, Call Her Daddy had an episode with Kid Cudi that just dropped. And she, I basically had some semi-viral TikTok about the fact that like all hot guys, like all famous hot guys are like, I owe Kid Cudi my life.

13:17Like I would not be here without him. His music inspired me to be the person I am today. And you know what? Like I just, I, he saved my life. Correct. And that is including our number one, Drew Starkey. Also Joe Burrow. Also Timothee Chalamet. I mean Mount Rushmore. Yeah. Literally. There's also like Pete Davidson who like you could argue. Is he hot? No, in my opinion. But like. He's not Drew Starkey. Not even close. Please. Please. Enough. Like enough. And then also like Travis Scott who like also like. I know after the Astroworld documentary I'm like get away from me. Wait. Travis Scott. He was one of your hot list?

14:05No, I'm saying that he is one of the guys that's like Kid Cudi has inspired my art. I'm sorry. I got you. There's like a long, long list of famous, young, attractive men that credit Kid Cudi for their lives, essentially.

14:21Christy Noel:And sorry to interrupt you, but Sophie always has like clever thoughts. And she puts them on Twitter. And like she rarely uses TikTok. But this is the one time she basically used her Twitter mindset to go on TikTok and post something really funny and like relatable for so many men. Sorry, continue. But like, you're clever. I feel like I've barely been tweeting or TikToking and I save all my thoughts for the pod these days. And that's because she's a woman in show business who has a business that she cares about. That I'm passionate about. Sorry. Oh my God. I was like, after I said that, I was like, that didn't roll off the tongue with my thought.

14:52That did not roll off the tongue. Anyway, she used my audio of that viral clip of me talking and then with Kid Cudi. And obviously Henry thought I was really cool because Kid Cudi is actually Henry's favorite artist of all time. And I just woke up. I like groggily woke up at like 7 a.m. And I had a bunch of DMs, like so many people being like, Alex Cooper, use your audio. I went to Instagram. I was like, I don't know what you're talking about. They're like, go to TikTok. And I was like, what? And she usually when you use an audio, if you guys are familiar with TikTok, you say use this sound. Right.

15:25And then it ends up being in the little corner of the TikTok so that you can click on it and find the original sound. And you and then you can use the audio and then it becomes it can go viral. Yeah. Like it's what content creators do on TikTok. Right. And she overrode that and like took my audio and then used it as her original sound, which is really interesting. Luckily enough, people use the search bar and was like, who is the original creator of this? And so many baby Starks. Thank you guys for in the comments, tagging me and tagging Starkbait, which was so nice because I got no credit. Yeah.

15:56And then I even saw some comments being like, you guys do this all the time. You don't credit original creators for their sounds. they were calling out call her daddy and Alex Cooper for like taking people's sounds and it's like I said this on our Patreon I was like TikTok is not like I'm not like trying to like grow my following on TikTok I'm not good at TikTok so it's not like the end of the world it's not a huge deal it's just like funny like of course Alex Cooper does that yeah and then someone I was like

16:22Christy Noel:looking at our DMs and someone was like it's probably because you guys did a two-part series on her I'm like one I will be do you think do you think that she like knows I mean I'll be I'm fucking honored, but no, she doesn't know about S.N.R. F.A. I mean, you know. But it's funny because I feel like people, I just don't, like, I don't, it's not clocking to me. It's not clocking to you.

16:45My scalp gets so sun damaged in the summer, and I get those nefarious little white dandruffy flakes. They're so dark energy. And as I've said before, I do not look good in baseball caps, which is why I'm so thankful that OneSkin now has a newly launched scalp serum, OSO1 Hair. I've been using it for a few months now, and I'm obsessed with it. If you're familiar with OneSkin, which I hope you are by now, you know about their patented OSO1 peptide and how it's scientifically proven to target aging at the cellular level. We love that for us. It's what powers all of their skin and sun care products.

17:19Now it's targeted age-related hair loss and thinning, as well as scalp health. My hair has never felt this thick and full and my scalp has never felt healthier. And it's not just me. 18:06Okay, but speaking of podcasts, did you see that Kay Cav went on this dumb blonde podcast? I think this is old. She has, wait, really? Page Six just posted it. But I think she's talked about Morgan Wallen several times about how he's good in bed.

18:22Christy Noel:If I could tell you the amount of times Kristen Cavallari brings up the Birkin bag story in Miami from like that episode of The Hills. I would be a fucking, I would be retired by now. And for context, for context, it's just that when she was on The Hills, she said that The Hills production offered all the other girls Birkins to say on camera that Kristen was abusing drugs. Correct. she also I don't know how she feels so comfortable talking about someone's skills in the bedroom she basically and not that I respect Morgan Wallen or think he deserves any sort of privacy or integrity or anything or respect yes Morgan Wallen's a piece of shit save his right save Morgan Wallen's right hashtag justice for Morgan no don't clip that and say that we're standing up for Morgan you guys we do not like Morgan Wallen fuck Morgan Wallen but I just think it's weird because I just, I don't think anyone should be subjected to someone going on a podcast and being like, this person's good and bad.

19:18It doesn't surprise me at all. I didn't even flinch when you put this on the outline. I'm like, oh, another day for Kristen Cavallari. No, it's like, why does she do that? Like, I just don't understand her. It's tacky. I'm sorry, it's tacky. Like, and I'm trying to think, every celebrity,

19:30Christy Noel:listen, if you're in Hollywood, you've hooked up with everyone, it's like high school, whatever. Kristen Cavallari always says, I don't want to make headlines, but she puts her whole podcast platform on talking about the rumors and the men that she has had sex with. Yes, correct. As if it's everyone's business. And I love the comments of everyone saying, everything I know about Kristen Cavallari is beyond my control. It's against my will. Yeah, it's against my will. Like, I didn't fucking ask. And I think a lot of people feel this way because we look around and we're like, who does she appeal to?

19:58Christy Noel:Like, what age? And I think it's a lot of us millennials that grew up with her on Laguna Beach that just find her, like, a nostalgic follow. But I'm not taking what she says as gospel, nor am I listening to her show. Right. Like, who's listening to her show? i don't clearly some people are no yeah it's but then i noticed i just don't understand her career like what it what is her what is she even doing yeah like you're a business owner of uncommon james did you watch honestly cavallari that um yes the reality show with shannon ford no no sorry that's very cavallari she has another show oh no i it's like the five-part series okay what was that exactly so what i noticed is the cities that she went to were very much it wasn't like new york or LA I think she might have done New York but it flopped like she even acknowledged that was a horrible show she went to like Chicago Boston New York and it fell flat and maybe like I don't remember St.

20:49Christy Noel:Louis I'm just making that up I don't know like she would she wouldn't make it in like LA and she fell flat New York City like she doesn't appeal to these bigger cities I just don't get her she appeals to like type C cities or type B cities I don't mean that offensively but you guys know what I mean like see to your cities yeah no you guys we don't mean they're like worse they're just they're they're not like LA or New York right it's more suburban that's what I mean right like it's more suburban areas not like it's not yeah New York or LA something that I also want to touch on really fast please is I know we talked about Matt Reif last week but there's like a new Matt Reif controversy like two weeks in a row talking about Matt Reif oh but I think that this is important to discuss because I remember we talked about how he bought the like museum that owns the Annabelle doll right and we mentioned we were like what happened that he was like everywhere like up until like a year and a half ago and you know what happened you guys I completely forgot about this yes is that he made a really disgusting joke about trigger warning domestic violence about a woman belonging in the kitchen and having a black eye because she wasn't good at being in the kitchen and then when people were i'm that's obviously not like the joke or the punchline but i'm not even gonna say it because it's stupid it's not funny anyway but that's the gist right and then when people were upset he linked to he was like this is my apology for everyone who's upset with my jokes and the link was to a helmet for mentally disabled children okay yeah and that just made it worse obviously and so what the fuck was elf thinking when they tapped him he they tapped him and then a drag queen named heidi and closet which is a funny drag name but so she it sucks that she's getting like mixed up in all this but they tapped this drag queen and then also matt rife to star in this it's like supposed to be seleno and barnes injury attorney but it's elfino and schmarnes and they're like protecting you yeah from overpriced makeup and it completely obviously fell flat the elf customers are all pissed and up in arms so much so that elf had to come out and basically because i like completely forgot that he got that's why he got canceled that's why he hasn't been around because he made this really disgusting joke and then doubled down on being offensive when people were upset and so this makeup brand your audience is women they don't think joking about domestic i mean joking about domestic violence shouldn't be funny to anyone but especially women they were like what the fuck were you thinking and then elf came out with a statement and their statement says they didn't end up deleting the video which people are like just delete it if you're so sorry right they said you know us we're always listening and we've heard you this campaign aimed to humorously spotlight beauty and justice we understand we missed the mark with people we care about in our elf community while elfino and schmarnes closes today we'll continue to make the case against overpriced beauty like they're still trying to like make a joke out of it and so people are pissed obviously okay I'm so glad you're bringing this up because I think this is coming off of the heels of Sidney Sweeney's campaign with American Eagle and I came across this really brilliant perspective on TikTok and I apologize because I this is just from my American election I don't think I saved it but basically what he was saying is the brands know exactly what they're doing when they are tapping people like Sidney Sweeney who has had MAGA adjacent controversies with her mom when they did that party Matt Reif has clearly had issues with women his female audience and joking about domestic violence it is never about morals or having objectivity or feeling like you're on this moral high ground it's always about to getting people talking yeah and whether or not like when people say I just looked up what American Eagles response was about the Sidney Sweeney campaign it says Sidney Sweeney has great jeans isn't always was about the jeans her jeans her story we will continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence their way great jeans look good on everyone no that's not true and I know you're a copywriter but you probably work a lot with marketing people like there are so many things that go into I mean even like in finance anything you present to the CFO or CEO goes through so many iterations goes through so many reviews even if one thing is misaligned it'll get caught you think that when we talk about Sydney Sweeney and her great jeans we are meaning that it looks good on her like the actual fabric no we're talking about like this platforming like a white supremacy like rhetoric when again whether I'm not saying it is or it is not.

25:31Christy Noel:What I'm saying is it is kind of towing the line of not outwardly saying Sidney Sweeney is a conservative MAGA, but that campaign in and of itself will bring up – the conservatives will say the woke people are being too sensitive and the woke people will say, how could you not see it? And we're kind of towing the line of not being blatantly racist or not racist, but it's enough to get people talking. Yeah. It clearly – I mean, it works because American Eagle stock has like skyrocketed because they're pandering to – I mean, whether it's intentional or not. And I think that, again, like it had to go through so many rounds of approvals.

26:05It's like, how did this get like approved? I mean, I've seen the original Brooke Shields Calvin Klein ad that it's literally based. Have you seen that ad? Is it when she was like a minor? Yeah. Yeah. And it's literally sexualized. Yeah. It's so fucked up. But it's literally word for word that ad. It's like jeans are passed down. Jeans are passed down from pants to offspring. my jeans are blue my jeans are blue you did it way better um but it's literally and she goes determining traits like hair color personality and even eye color even even eye color like obviously hello but it's literally word for word the brook shields ad so i think that they were i'm not i don't know i'm obviously not defending them i just think that it gets people talking it gets people talking like it's controversial even the original brooke shields one is controversial in the lens of 2025 because she was underage like they're trying to be controversial yes and it's just like but again it's like this kind of like outrage like rage bait rage bait yes it like works like i don't know i don't like study the stock market i just saw that american eagle like they're all like oh my god american eagle it's skyrocketing i don't know how elf is doing i would guess that elf has dipped so like maybe it maybe it doesn't work

27:24Christy Noel:yeah I don't know are you checking yeah I was just checking their stock year to date I mean it's it's fluctuating yeah it's like day by day it's it's basically um but either way it gets people talking if nothing else for brand awareness yeah but like it's just yeah it's like the rage bait but who the hell was talking about American Eagle before Sidney Sweeney had great jeans like genuinely no one and if you weren't already looking at American Eagle jeans I guarantee you a lot more people have been looking at their website even if you agree or disagree with the controversy. So they're doing their job and that's to increase the shareholder value.

27:58Christy Noel:God, so stupid. As a lifelong renter who's probably going to be renting for the rest of my life at this point, it's hard for me to justify splurging on custom furniture or like chic expensive vintage home finds when I know this isn't my forever home. Data brokers are making billions, pulling details about you from public records and the internet, and then packaging and selling it, usually without your consent. That's how your information lands in the hands of scammers, spammers, even stalkers. It's why you get endless robocalls and why ads seem to follow you everywhere.

32:51That's where Aura comes in. Aura actively removes your data from broker sites and keeps it off. They also instantly alert you if your information shows up in a breach or on the dark web. But Aura goes beyond data protection. 33:29Christy Noel:Can we really quickly talk about the Valley Reunion Part 3? And I need Fanny and Jason off my fucking screen. I hate them. Yeah, they're just, like, insufferable. When he's like, you're a clown! He, like, got up and I'm like, Jason, like, relax. I feel like the Valley Reunion didn't need to be three parts. time magazine actually published an article over the last day i saw basically demanding that bravo cut the valley production altogether they said it's like genuinely scary we're seeing domestic violence physical assault sexual assault emotional abuse really problematic things it's like too dark it is i mean like they i read it and i was like they're not wrong they've they have a point but at the same time it's like don't take away that show yeah like i to be clear please We don't have much left.

34:18To be clear, that is the one show I am off at 7 a.m. play as I'm doing my makeup. Yeah. Because I'm walking down a peacock.

34:24Christy Noel:No, no, no. Like, I understand that it's dark. I don't disagree. But, like, something about me, though, I need to see the darker, the better. The darker, the – wait, wait. When we – I think it was, like, a Q &A that we did on our Patreon. And someone was like, what do you guys do to, like, unwind and relax when you're feeling stressed? Huh. And I was like, you know, like, I put on, like, a funny – Like, I love listening to you guys know, watch what crap happens whenever I need a good laugh or pick me up. Yeah. And Christy was like, I just like, you know, like, I actually was just watching the Oklahoma City bombing documentary.

34:57Just, you know, any sort of true crime. Okay, next question. I was like, Christy. No, it's like, I don't know. There's something like about my brain that's just like not wired appropriately. Yeah. And that's my cross to bear. That's my cross to bear.

35:10Christy Noel:But how many of you baby snarks also wind down to like a morbid podcast or a crime junkie? Like when I used to live with roommates, they would hear my crime junkie like podcast through my bedroom because I'll go to bed before them. And they're like, dude, listen to like some sick shit at like 10 p.m. at night. Like what's wrong with you? It's the only way I can wind down. Wait, did you watch? I mean, did you? Do you? Yeah. Love Forensic Files? That's like the OG. The OG. I was talking about this the other day with Trigger Warning Ryan Bailey. It's a good show. I've watched it with my dad used to like it.

35:41Oh, my God. Me and my mom obsessed with it. also every time I'm like in a hotel I need forensic files on HLN like yeah just because it's always on they always have HLN it's just my comfort oh my god Peter Thomas's voice RIP may he rest in peace but it's like that it's like the blood spatter analysis yeah yeah totally

36:03Christy Noel:have you seen that one TikTok of it's like people ask me what I'm doing at night and it's like me on my couch with like a bonnet or like a hair thing and like you're eating Chinese food. It's like she found his body. Like whatever. The fingerprints on the doorknob. Yeah, I think it's like a forensic files like clip, but that's how I wind down. Yeah, literally, yes. But yes, I would ask everyone who's listening, leave a comment on Spotify or on YouTube or on our Instagram carousel when we drop this. Are you for or against the Valley just stopping production altogether? Like do you want it to stay?

36:36Christy Noel:Do you want it to leave? Do you think it's too dark for television? Do you like the darkness? like me yeah what do you think uh yeah I guess I guess we'll see I mean I I feel like it didn't get like the best ratings this season so who knows what's gonna happen it's the only show on Bravo at least for me I know people are raving about Real Housewives of Miami we're both not watching it no but people are like demanding I know it's apparently really good and I asked the baby snarks I was like do I have to watch the original seasons and they said start with the reboot so I think I might I feel like I'm like because I'm not watching OC this season either I the Real House of Salt Lake City trailer just dropped which I'm very excited about yeah um Lisa Barlow called Bronwyn a gout dick sucker because Bronwyn's husband she said has gout that's like a common thing like it's not even like what so Real House of Salt Lake City is gonna be so back very soon which I'm excited about but I feel like I'm like missing housewives in my life right now you want to start OC speaking of being a wife do you want to talk about Nicola Peltz Beckham and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham their vow renewals yes so if you guys are not aware Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham Peltz hyphen Beckham thank you thank you very much Nicola Peltz Beckham and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham had a vow renewal recently and those noticeably absent were brooklyn's entire family and this just basically kind of pushes forward all of these rumors that there is trouble between the brooklyn and his family and i read something on reddit on like this subreddit pop culture chat and they were basically saying that brooklyn is done and this val renewal was a nail in the coffin for him to show his family I don't fuck with you guys anymore and I'm part of this billionaire American family I don't want anything to do with you guys anymore wow but it's unclear what led to this yeah like what happened they just don't yeah it's like been speculated that like Victoria Beckham like there was like beef at the actual wedding between Nicola and Victoria right right and I've also read that I guess Roman Beckham who's Brooklyn's brother Romeo Romeo sorry yes they dated the same same person or something like they were both like double dipping with the same person and maybe that pissed Brooklyn off but I don't know really what's going on but it's clear that Brooklyn is trying to separate himself and make it very public that he no longer wants to be around his family and I guess David celebrated a birthday or maybe it was Victoria and they had gone to another country and Brooklyn was absent from this vacation and I think David wished Brooklyn like a happy birthday publicly on Instagram and Brooklyn didn't even so much as like like or comment.

39:30Christy Noel:Oh my God. So it's like public. I mean people say this is too much. No Instagram is real life. We live here now. Like I'm sorry but if you're not publicly expressing a thank you to your father who's wishing you a happy birthday there's something wrong. I'm just so curious like what exactly I guess they just don't they have beef with Nicola. Yeah and I listen I feel for Brooklyn and I feel for Nicola like I feel for both of them. Because imagine being that like talentless. And you have like all the opportunities in the world. There – in articles I was reading about it, it was like the photographer talking about Brooklyn Beckham.

40:02I was like, oh, so now he's like – I know that he has that photography book. The elephant picture. The elephant picture. Impossible to photograph. But beautiful to see. But so beautiful to see. Yeah. That's like how I feel when I photograph Baxter. Did you post your carousel of him? Oh, you guys. It was just Baxter's second birthday. I was like, oh, I need to post on Instagram. Not yet I will. but yeah I feel for both for both Victoria and David I mean that's heartbreaking to have I think is he the first born son he's the oldest yeah the eldest eldest son not the eldest daughter but the eldest son that's a new track from the life of a show girl goes as follows thank you hope for that

40:44Christy Noel:beautiful banger and like we said Taylor and Max Martin are back in the studio also like when the song actually comes out and it doesn't sound like that i'm gonna be so disappointed hey you want to be a show girl it's so accurate everyone was like dude your serena carpenter impression to hope is spot on but no i feel badly and i hope when families are like broken it makes me so sad and i really want brooklyn to reunite but honestly yeah if they're harmful to him deuces he's got a new rich family i mean yeah they're like them they're like billionaires he's living the american dream but he it's almost like they were an adjacent royal family the beckhams because obviously they're not royalty but you guys know what i'm saying they like kind of are though yeah and then you have this like quiet luxury royalty that is the pelts's and i think brooklyn's like i'm too good for you guys now i'm born into this entrepreneur billionaire family like yeah i don't need you it's just so crazy because both of his parents are talented and beautiful end of sentence yeah yeah maybe he feels like he like maybe he resents them because he can't measure up I think there's so much that would be like I know that we like make fun of nepo babies for like having it all and like having like being born on third base or whatever but I feel like it also would be really difficult to be living in the shadow of someone else's dream trying to find a hand to hold yeah and every touch felt cold to me but it's true I'm seeing her by the way in a couple weeks I'm so jealous I'm genuinely so jealous no it's gonna be so good I'm super excited but no yeah I agree there's something to that I think yeah when you can never measure up and people just know you as the daughter or the son of x that's tough yeah well speaking of things not being tough Nicolandri is on one and when I tell you I've been sitting here 10 toes down since day 19 I was telling Olivia earlier I'm like no one fucking believed me I was here on my own fucking island saying we need Nicolandria back we were out here like sweating pushing for this couple and now him Nicolandria and Amaya and Brian the actual winners of Love Island were on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday night or Wednesday night and they did a poll to the audience or to everyone watching live they go who is going to last the longest Amaya slash Brian or Nicolandria and it was like 98 % chose Nicolandria.

43:09Christy Noel:And to be clear, Amaya and Brian won Love Island, but Nicolandria I feel like is really taking home like royalties really from that show after the fact because they are just so fabulous. And Alandria, we got to get her on snark bait to be clear. Like the mountains I would move. She was on Tish Cyrus's podcast and Tish Cyrus, I've only watched clips, but Tish Cyrus was asking her, what are your favorite things about Nick? And she said he's very intentional in what he does. for instance I told him I've never traveled to Europe like I haven't really traveled in many places and he had a campaign he was shooting with his like swimsuit brand I think it's like Kulani's brand and they were gonna fly Nick out to Greece so he insisted that Alandria come on the campaign with him and they spent this like Grecian vacation together and Nick made it happen for her and then she said she just in passing was like I've never gone to Disneyland and like the next day he had scheduled like a Disneyland trip with him and Shelly and Ace which are other contestants on Love Island.

44:04Christy Noel:So all is to say, I need them to get married. Like I am literally obsessed with this couple. I've never seen a hotter couple come out of Love Island and I'm in love. So I wish you watched so you could understand my hype, but I'm obsessed. I know. Also, Christy was like, oh my God, we're going to force you to watch Love Island. We're going to, have you ever seen A Clockwork Orange? No. Oh my God, Christy, if you love like scary stuff, you have to watch a clockwork orange it's a classic olivia i know you have right because she's in showbiz and she's intellectual um but there's like a scene in clockwork orange where they like keep his eyes open as like a form of torture to make him watch stuff oh my god it's a spooky movie uh oh god anyway that's what i want like when christy was like i want to make you watch love island i'm like i'm gonna make you watch dexter resurrection okay yeah it's a one for it's a it's a two-way Yeah.

44:59Also, okay. So again, like we've just been running around. So haven't had a chance to catch up on podcasts or shows, but then just like that finale, which I have not watched yet is getting slammed. And everyone is saying that it for sure was planned as a season finale and not a series finale, which just confirms the fact that like it was actually canceled. Wow. Yeah. One last thing that I want to talk about really fast is Kayla Quinn. She was like doing some cleaning out of some of her like linens and pillows. And she, you know when pillows you've been using them for a while, my favorite pillow in the world is like yellow.

45:38Yeah. They get yellow. Yeah, they do. Why is that? I don't, I don't want to know. Yeah. It's for like oils. I, I honestly don't want to know. Ew. We're so dumb and dumber. We're like, why are they yellow? I don't know. But she was like, okay, so I'm going to donate these because they were really yellow. why do you think people want your disgusting pillows? Might as well just sell your underwear. Sell your underwear. And she's done that before where she baked banana bread and it didn't come out well. She's like, okay, I'm just going to take this to like a shelter then. And it's like, they don't want your disgusting banana bread.

46:11A place to donate is not for you to drop off your trash.

46:14Christy Noel:I don't envy. If the rumors are true, I just don't envy whatever she's going through. So whatever makes you feel better at night, Kayla. Yeah, we talked about this on a past episode. There have been rumors that are unsubstantiated, but there's a lot of evidence that points to the fact that her husband was unfaithful and it was right around the time that she discovered, I guess timing wise, that she was pregnant with her third child. We've gotten like tea from people as well that it is very much true. Yes. Obviously like we don't have that. The actual person in question commented on our TikTok about it and was like, yeah, this is true.

46:50But, like, again, take it with a grain of salt. It's the internet. Who knows? But, yeah. I mean, it's sad for her. But, like, whatever makes you sleep at night, Kayla. You want to do a gross banana bread. Remember when she cut off the head of a garden snake on Instagram? Yes. I remember that. So, also, it's like. She just.

47:08Christy Noel:I never cared for her. I found her to be very contrived. There's something. There's something dark. There's something nefarious. Like, anyone who giddily chops off the head of any creature. I don't care if it's like a creepy garden snake like that's that's sad you know my barometer of like normalcy what is like would I be friends with you like in high school or college do you know what I mean yeah but it's like I don't I don't know because also like there are people that like I probably wouldn't be friends with then that I'm friends with now that's true that's not like a bar I know that's a barometer for you that's not a barometer for me personally yeah I feel like it's it's like a barometer as of late I'm like uh I don't fuck with you like I wouldn't I wouldn't hang out with you.

47:50Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my God. Kayla Quinn and I would not like buy. Right. That's what I mean. I'm like you just have the sinister energy that kind of. It doesn't have to be high school and college. It can be like today. Or today. Just like would I hang out with you in real life?

48:02Christy Noel:No. Okay. Let's move on to dark energy objects and light energy objects. I feel like we have a lot of funny dark energy objects just from like. The last couple days. At least. Yeah. The last couple days. My travel experiences that I've had. So last night we went to dinner. and we went to laurel hardware which was so good it was really delicious highly recommend the vibes are really great too vibes were great it's really cute we sat in like the outdoor area twinkle lights like just so cute um we ordered like a little too much food we had like a whole leftover pizza and it wasn't just like a little leftover box it was an entire massive pizza box that they gave us to put the pizza in i think that we could have stuffed it in like a little box but they handed us a huge massive pizza box.

48:50We could have just unbroken it and put it on top of each other. Yeah like it would have been fine if we just put it in a normal leftover box. So it wasn't just like a little bag of leftovers. Just carrying leftovers if you have to go out after. It's not like I just it's so embarrassing especially when it's a huge pizza box and we were like yeah we want to go out like we want to like hit up some bars you know go out in the town. Yeah. But we have this fucking pizza box. So we yeah we left it to someone who was in need of it and that felt good but yeah agreed he was excited he was he was really excited and I think on top of that

49:21Christy Noel:to lay on top of that we were all of us ladies got drinks and we ordered some apps plus some entrees and the swiftness at which the food came to our table was uncomfortable it was too fast we were like was this just sitting under a heating lamp it was like a tomato like heirloom tomato and burrata salad for the record we were like this was just like sitting there under a heating under the light it was uncomfortable how fast it was it was too quick it's too quick and also we've talked about before when it comes out before the cocktails oh hate that right right I totally agree um that was yeah that was one um I'm trying I don't know it's my the whole week has been a little bit dark energy before the girls came so I don't really have anything oh I have other good ones for my travel experience first of all I was talking about this last night at dinner I was like oh my god I have so many good DEOs for my travel day so I don't get like anxiety for flying like Like, I don't get – like, some people are scared of flying, which is very understandable.

50:16I don't get anxiety about that. I get anxiety about going to the airport.

50:20Christy Noel:That makes sense. Just having to, like, be at an airport and go through security and just, like, operate, like, at an airport. I get so much anxiety. Especially – you know what it is also? Like, when I'm traveling, I'm one of those people that I turn my brain off when I'm traveling with Henry. Yeah. Like, brain turns off. I was traveling alone, which, like, I've traveled alone many, many, many times. but I think now it's the fact that I'm so used to turning my brain off at the airport I'm like oh my god I actually have to like think pay attention yeah I have to pay attention and like I just get I get like a pit in my stomach before going to the airport imagine being single that's literally I I think for too many that I have five people in my brain and like I have to think for all five of them like the anxious person like the Karen you know no but I don't I mean yeah like welcome to my everyday bitch wait also you guys so we were gonna record like a backlog like deep dive on someone and we decided to like push it out just because like we're recording right now we were like okay we're gonna be here for like seven hours and we have to do another episode um so we're just gonna do that at a later date right and i was like oh my god because i thought we were recording it today i mean the original plan was to record it today so last night after we get got home from dinner and like going out I was like I need to study this these notes yeah yeah yeah and I was like what do you know okay so let me finish so Sophie before she's about to fly I'm like hey just like confirming the itinerary we are going to record this deep dive and DET are you ready to speak to it on Friday like you have a day and a half she goes not a problem at all I'll know yeah not a problem I'll knock it out five hour flight that's all I'll do don't worry about it and I was looking perfect because I'm not going to study it because like I just don't have the capacity and So she's going to drive it.

52:04Great. So we get home and she's like, oh, God, take off my bra. Time to review the outline. No, no, no, no. No. You're just going to make a part where I got off the plane. I was like, oh, Love is Blind UK was crazy. I finished the whole thing. Have you watched Love is Blind UK? It's fucking crazy. Yeah, we did crazy. And then Chrissy was like, God damn it. I was like, wait, what do you mean Love is Blind was crazy? I thought you were reviewing the outline. Last night she goes, all right, you ladies have fun. I'm going to bed. I'm going to review the outline. I'm like, what the fuck, bitch? But that's how she works.

52:34I need three days. I know. I'm like a little bit of a procrastinator, which by the way, I'm completely ready. No, totally. Always. A very much acquainted, know everything about this person now.

52:43Christy Noel:It's more like she doesn't need time to review it. I need time because your brain just absorbs it quicker when it's faster. I'm a procrastinator. I work better under pressure. Yeah. Don't worry about it. Yeah. I got the outline. It's not a problem. Well, you know what the problem was though? What was the problem? That I could not get Wi-Fi on the flight because why the fuck? Look, I have never figured out. Even Henry was like, you know what? Wi-Fi on me. Pay for the Wi-Fi. You can have internet on the flight. It's a six-hour flight. It's not like a short flight. New York to LA and back is hard.

53:13Right. So I was trying to get Wi-Fi. I was trying to get internet. I can never figure out how to get fucking internet on flights because they take you. I went to the – and by the way, I don't like United. United is dark energy to me. I'm a Delta girly. I love United. Everything was going wrong. I was like there's just so many weird things happening right now. Like there was just so much like weirdness. The shadow of Mercury and Mercury special guy was still there. And also the little TVs instead of being touch screen like a normal like Delta flight. The little remote. The little remote. I was like I do not know how this works.

53:43Like I'm so confused. Like everything was just like off. Yeah. And you know they're not cleaning those things. Oh my. I mean I also travel with like the Clorox wipes. Yes. And I wipe everything down. But still it's just like everything was off on my flight. But like I was trying to get Wi-Fi. And so I go to the United app and then it's like, confirm, you want to connect, purchase or whatever. And I'm like, yeah, I want to purchase. And then it takes me to the browser and it's like, browser cannot connect to the internet right now. I'm like, how am I supposed to connect to the internet?

54:10Christy Noel:Right. I don't have internet. You're taking me to a browser. Yeah. What is the secret to connecting to my, Henry always does it. And it's like easy for him. Did the purchase go through? No, I couldn't. No, because it just took me to a browser that was like, you're not connected to the internet. It like decides when it does and doesn't want to connect. it's so weird you guys so like i don't understand how that works honestly but also i do like unplugging when i'm on a flight again i just watched love is fine uk the entire time all five episodes really good it was crazy it was crazy have you watched you're like god damn it i actually have my nicolandria if you guys are watching is cal and sarover on um okay oh my god it is so sweet because i won't spoil it actually i feel like i'm spoiling it don't say it because people are gonna get upset i'm sorry okay yeah wait when i talked about the last of us season two i know i saw and someone was like how dare you spoil the last of us season two and i was like that came out months ago no i saw that it came out months ago i'm sorry there has to be like a you know statute of limitations like i'm sorry that came out several months ago right right okay what are your light energy objects oh ginger ale on a flight what about being on a plane makes me crave ginger ale i don't know because i don't really drink ginger ale like any other time of my life no i it's a thing it's a thing for me too like and my parents i don't know what it is crisp cold ginger ale on ice i think it's something with like a flight and vertigo maybe the ginger helps soothe your stomach i don't yeah that actually like makes sense or it's also flights are really like dehydrating and really dehydrating it's like really refreshing it is drink ginger ale now i want ginger ale i know and i never drink ginger ale like in life me either Except on planes.

55:51No, same. My other one is, Christy's not watching The Summer I Turn Pretty. The Summer I Turn Pretty, you guys, I'm not ashamed to, like, watch things that 12-year-olds watch. Like, Outer Banks, The Summer I Turn Pretty, Greasy Abrams, music videos. Like, I'm a Gen Z at heart.

56:10Christy Noel:I think we all are. Yeah. But you would actually love it. Like, I was telling Christy, because Christy's, like, if you can't tell by the top of the episode, she is like actually a swifty yeah yeah i i love taylor swift's music yeah love her i wouldn't consider myself like a hardcore swifty i just you know i'm more of like a casual fan christy's a swifty and this entire soundtrack of the summer i turned pretty is taylor swift on repeat oh i love okay that in and of itself and the fact that conrad team connie by the way conrad you the the actor that plays him chris um what's his name chris chris chris for briney so hot looks like Joe Burrow like you would love him yeah you would love him I probably do need a lighter watch it's between that and the hunting wives oh hunting wives is so good yeah I heard it's good and I read the book some intellectual wow because I'm intellectual wow that's so cool I read it years ago before it was you know mainstream my leos is I live very close to the ocean and I never go to the beach like i live very close to laguna never go and on sunday me and my best friend went to dana point and we walked the beach at sunset and it was like the most healing thing ever like oh soul healing i felt like i was like no medicine will cure me like this walked in at sunset like it was like such a needed thing and then we went to in and out after and i just felt way better about my day um that was like it was like really the best so i encourage you guys if you live by a body of water whether it be the ocean a lake river whatever get out there if you can if you're feeling like you're sad because it will heal at least it'll help the second thing is friends that send you things just like impromptu i went outside and i had this amazon package and this is like have you ever like received a package you're like huh i didn't order something it must be my my secret admirer who i haven't talked to in like three years you guys ever think that jordan is nodding or rachel yeah no yeah olivia is like wait like one time I got flowers I was like who is this there's no no oh my god it was my mom yeah yeah exactly I mean I mean we're like oh yeah it must be like the guy that was in love with me four years ago but in any case at my house I had this bowl of like pink starbursts and it's just like always filled and Shannon from Foley Ford uh like me I was having a tough week and she sent me this like huge like vat of pink starbursts and was just like no you're having a difficult week and it was just like very sweet and thoughtful so shout out to Shannon from Foley forward but yeah just like impromptu gifts that are from your secret admirers or not yeah it's always great but yeah I think that's all she wrote I think that wraps it up you guys there's no way we could record another episode I know we're like we okay so we went to running canyon this morning yeah and also if you're watching on the video I feel like that's why like we look a little like I mean you don't I'll speak for myself no no no we were on a hike yeah and this isn't my best moment it was like 90 incline um yeah but we're gonna recap all of it on patreon patreon.com slash snarkbait pod but in any case we really appreciate you guys for joining us and if you are well it's already too late because we're on youtube but if you listen this far and you're hearing this sorry but the whole thing is on video if you want to watch it youtube.com slash snarkbait pod yes yes thank you what else i am at christy noel underscore underscore sophie is at soap underscore ross all of our links youtube patreon or socials at snarkbait pod and instagram is located in the show notes and we'll see you guys tomorrow if you're a patron and thursday for another very fun oh i'm excited for this one male deep dive who's very topical in the 2020s yes i'm very excited for our thursday deep dive and also thank you to jordan our producer olivia our researcher and Rachel, our social manager, who are all here with us right now, which is so fun.

1:00:26As a lifelong renter, who's probably going to be renting for the rest of my life at this point, it's hard for me to justify splurging on custom furniture or like chic, expensive vintage home finds when I know this isn't my forever home. That's what Wayfair is for. Because even though renting makes me less enthusiastic about spending money on furniture and home decor, I still want my apartment to feel chic and elevated, duh. I've turned to Wayfair for home upgrades for over a decade now, long before they were a sponsor. From an armoire in our second bedroom to our randomly, extremely chic wicker laundry basket that I'm literally obsessed with, Wayfair makes quality pieces that stand up to real life, without breaking the bank.

1:01:05Budget-friendly but chic finds make all the difference in your space, in my opinion, Whether you're a renter like me or an actual homeowner, which don't rub it in, you can even see real customer feedback and photos before you buy, so you can shop with confidence. And with Wayfair Rewards, you can get 5 % back on every purchase, helping you get even more value from your Wayfair purchases and create a home you love without overspending. Join Wayfair Rewards today to get 5 % back on every purchase and start saving on your next home upgrade. Head to Wayfair.com to shop all things home. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R dot com.

1:01:41Wayfair. Every style, every home. Wayfair. Every style, every home. I've been a diehard TaskRabbit stan long before they were a sponsor. I cannot remember the last time I moved without enlisting a Tasker, whether it was for assembling furniture, mounting a TV, hanging artwork. The list goes on. And it's not just during a move when your to-do list can feel like it's 10 pages long. Sometimes I really just need an extra hand for those little things I feel like I never end up getting around to myself. Like finally hanging the wedding photos I promised myself and Henry that I do for months now. Wherever you are, TaskRabbit is there to help.

1:02:17TaskRabbit connects you with skilled taskers in your area for moving, furniture, assembly, home repairs, yard work, mounting, and more. You can search for a tasker based on cost, skillset, availability, and past client reviews so you know exactly who's showing up and can have confidence that they know what they're doing. It's okay to ask for help with your to-do list, you guys. In fact, it's the most efficient way to get things done, in my humble opinion. When life happens, your to-do list grows. Get ahead of it now and get$15 off your first task at TaskRabbit.com or on the TaskRabbit app using promo code SNARK.
