In short
Snarkbait episode mixing Taylor Swift “The Encore”/“Patient Zero” music-video discussion with reality-TV recommendations and pop-culture gossip. Hosts argue about whether the new Taylor material is satire or just bad, and debate what it’s “about” via theories and Easter eggs. They also cover TV shows (Real Housewives, Next Gen NYC, The Traitors) and add multiple sponsor segments.
Guests
No guests appear in the transcript; only the hosts (Christy and Sophie) and mentions of Rachel and Olivia as internal team members.
Guest backgrounds
N/A (no on-air guests). Rachel is described as the social manager who wrote a 16-page TTPD analysis; Olivia is described as handling merch/shipping and is available for emergency recording.
Key claims
“Cleveland” is called the worst song; “Patient Zero” video feels “AI” to one host but is praised by the other. The encore is framed as a continuation of “Life of a Showgirl” and a decline from earlier albums. “Patient Zero” is theorized to reference Scooter Braun/Yael Cohen (1986–2022 gravestone), plus possible references to Sophie Turner/Joe Jonas, Halsey/Maddie Healy, Selena/Justin, and alcohol themes.
Notable examples
Heated debate over “Cleveland” vs other tracks (“Patient Zero,” “Babylon,” “Pink Clouding”); Colin Farrell’s advocacy for a camp for children with disabilities; “Patient Zero” cast includes Dakota Johnson and MGK; reality-TV mentions include Next Gen NYC reunion hot mic and Traitors New Blood mechanics.

1:17Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Snarkbait. I'm Christy. I'm Sophie. And we're back, baby. We are back. Thank you so much, Christy. and thank you to Olivia and Rachel for stepping in so I could deal with some family stuff. But I'm back and I'm very excited to be back. And yeah, I just appreciate you guys so much. And I appreciate all the baby snarks that like messaged me. And because I've also been taking a break from So Bad, it's a temporary break from So Bad, it's good. Just because again, life is beating my ass lately. And I had so many baby snarks message me and just to check in and make sure I'm okay.
1:56And I'm sorry I haven't, like, answered anyone because I've, you know, been dealing with shit. But I appreciate it so much. Thank you, guys. And, yeah, again, thank you, Christy, for taking care of business. Of course. She was a well-oiled machine. Like, there are certain, like, things that I do and obviously certain things that Christy does for the podcast. And she was like, hey, so I've automated everything. You're not going to have to do this anymore. I know. I'm like, I'm trying to maximize efficiency. You know what I mean? So we can focus on the things that matter, which is delivering you guys premium, premium gossip and premium content, premium content.
2:35Yes. And no, I'm happy. I'm happy to do it. So we were kind of shifting things around. So on Thursday, me and Rachel, our social manager, we go through Taylor's TTPD lore. You guys, I'm not joking. It's one of the most in-depth episodes I think we ever did because Rachel wrote like a 16-page in-depth analysis of TTPD. Which will also be going live on Patreon for business runners. Right. So if you want like a guide as Rachel and I talk, it'll be very helpful. But I was telling Rachel, I'm like, hey, Sophie's out this week. Do you want to just go through that document? Because we've already done such like intense research.
3:17She was like, sure. what ended up being like what I assumed to be an hour episode we actually recorded for two hours and then we had to do an addendum to the recording that we previously recorded because we recorded on Monday and then all that shit about Taylor Swift came out about Patient Zero Encore so then we did an addendum but you guys will hear all of our thoughts on that episode but that was pre us actually hearing the music and then now today on Dark Energy Tuesday Sophie and I are obviously going to talk about Encore, Patient Zero music video, the VMAs because I feel like that's the most topical we're recording monday september 28th in the morning so i'm very much looking forward to you guys listening to thursday's episode if you guys are a taylor fan and then on patreon tomorrow rachel and i talk through like we do like an ama with rachel but it's more about like what goes on behind the scenes at snarkbait what it's like to like work for us what she thinks of Sophie and I offline.
4:12Oh, I'm scared. I'm scared. Look, something surprising because we had baby snarks like right in and everyone was like, what are Chrissy and Sophie like behind the scenes? What are they like to work with? Like, what is a normal day of like production look like? So she answers all of those questions, kind of a peek behind the curtain. So that goes live on Patreon tomorrow, patreon.com slash snarkbait pod. Let's see what other housekeeping things. Oh, our merch, you guys. I'm so excited to see people getting their merch. It's like really exciting when people DM us photos. oh i know i love it i love it again i'm behind on dms and everything right now but i have seen some photos of people receiving their merch and it's so exciting so that link is also in our show notes and there will be a slight shipping delay for if you place an order um this week this week yeah but then we will be back on schedule next week so just a heads up about that but um the shipping has been i'm proud to say it very prompt shout out to olivia dude olivia killing it she's not her expedited shipping like she started shipping things friday they got it like sunday yeah so um that is very exciting i am obsessed with our merch and again very limited edition we're not doing this again no we're not literally i'm never doing it no we're never doing it again So if you want really high quality water bottles, baseball caps that say dark energy or sweatshirts, our sweatshirts are actually kind of running out.
5:39Like we have limited sizes left. Very limited sizing, but it could be your size. So, yeah, that link is in our show notes. And, yeah, I am so excited to listen to all of the TTPD, the Rachel AMA, all of that. I'm excited to listen to. I bring you up so many times on TTPD, just like, Sophie's not going to like this. Sophie's not going to like this. Wait. This tag is horrible. What do you mean? You know what it is, though? Okay, so obviously we need to talk about the life of a showgirl, colon, the encore. So I saw a tweet that was like, it was like, rank Taylor Swift's last few albums from best to worst.
6:24And it was like, wait, wait, Folklore came first, right? Or was it Evermore? So it was Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, TTPD, Life of a Showgirl, The Encore. That's the order. That's the order. It just goes downhill from there. It literally just goes downhill. I'm sorry, it does. And I know that you're - That's your opinion. You and Rachel are huge TTPD fans. I am not. Midnights was like the last album that I liked. liked but didn't even didn't even love like folklore and evermore i love i love unpopular opinion i love lover i love 1989 um i love red like there are so many albums that i love and none of her recent work has hit for me and the encore was a new low for me personally and i know that it was nailed the coffin it was it literally was coffin nails for me i'm like okay They're like, I'm sorry.
7:24I can't look at her the same. No, I know. That's the kind of funniest. That's so funny when you say that because like we were talking about it. I was like, you guys, oh my God, on car release, four new songs. We need to talk about it. Emergency episode. Olivia, are you free? Oh, yeah. And then Sophie goes, the songs are absolute garbage. And no, we will not be recording an emergency episode. I know. I was such a bitch. I'm sorry. Silent. Like literally just silent. I shut that down. I was like, no, don't even give it the time of day. No, but Christy and Rachel, you guys liked it. Like, I honestly, listen, listen.
8:01I know right from wrong, bad versus good. I get it. Cleveland is an absolute atrocity. Yeah. Okay? And my benchmark is always asking my sister because she is like the OG Swifty. I've talked about it all the time. She met Taylor Swift. She won a competition. She got pulled to the pit. She's met Taylor Swift's mom. She's met Taylor Swift multiple times. And Audrey was even like, it's a no repeat for me, okay? It's an atrocity. Yeah. And it's not just the music. It's the lyrics. It's the storytelling. It's just, where is the Taylor that we know? Like, it just, it doesn't, it's, I mean, it's also a continuation of what is widely believed to be her worst album, Life of a Showgirl.
8:49So the fact that it's the encore, it's like, isn't an encore like when people are like asking for more? Like no one wanted an encore of Life of a Showgirl, first of all. Second of all, I did see also that Patient Zero fell in streams. It was like the biggest decline in streams day over day, like of all time. No way. Like everyone listened to it and then no one wanted to listen again. Re-listen, yeah. because it's not good. But I will say, Cleveland, against my will, against my will has been stuck in my head. It is so bad. And it's like, this is the love of my life. Hey, hey, hey. Like, that's stuck in my head.
9:35Do you know how torturous that is? You know what it kind of reminds me of? Remember when I promised that you'll never find another like me? Whenever I saw something, I was like, whenever a Taylor Swift song ends in an exclamation point, the title, you know it's going to be the worst song you've ever heard. Cleveland, me, canceled. Yeah, canceled. And then Shake It Off. Like, it kind of, Cleveland is giving Shake It Off and me. To me. At least Shake It Off was, like, fun. No, I can't. I can't. I can't. It's like, she's talking. I think that's something that made Taylor so great. And nothing I'm saying is new here, you guys.
10:13There have been a million think pieces about this already. But something that made her so great is that she sang about, like, relatable experiences, like falling in love. Like, she narrated our lives as, like, women falling in love and breaking up and all of those things. And now she's singing about how happy she is and the haters and, like, I'm happy and I'm rich. And, like, the haters don't matter even though she's so focused on them. Like, it's just not relatable. It's bizarre. There are certain things in life where once you upgrade, you're like, wait, wait, wait, we were doing what before?
10:48And for me, that is genuinely the bathroom. I have a tushy bidet and I'm not exaggerating when I say I genuinely love it. Anyone that comes to my house because I got a second bidet with my own money to put into the guest room. And every guest that comes over is like, wait a minute, your toilet is magic. Why is it heated? Why is it dry or bottom? And because we've all collectively decided that the appropriate way to clean ourselves after using the bathroom is just to take a piece of paper and wipe, and somehow we're like, yeah, that's fine. But really, it's not fine because especially as women, we've been told to just accept so much bathroom-related discomfort as normal, periods, postpartum, irritation.
11:24Apparently, the answer is just that sucks. But no, I would like to introduce you to water. My favorite thing about Toshi is just how much cleaner and fresher you feel. You sit down, you cleanse with water. and if you have the eBay day, which I have, you can quite literally dry yourself with the built-in dryer. It's giving five-star hotel bathroom and you guys know I love my five-star hotels, except it's in your own home and you don't have to steal the little slippers. And installation was way easier than I expected. It attaches to your existing toilet so you're not ripping apart your bathroom or calling a plumber.
11:56It's basically a little bathroom upgrade that makes you feel like you've entered a more civilized society. Also, I feel like we need to talk about the amount of toilet paper that saves. Tushy says people who make the switch up use up to 80 % less toilet paper, which in this economy, honestly, she's an environmentalist, she's a financial advisor, she's saving so much money. So if you've been sitting there thinking, do I need a bidet? I'm telling you, yes, you absolutely do. I am not joking. Even if Tushy were not a sponsor, I would purchase as many as there were bathrooms in my home. Once you have one, you're going to wonder why you waited this long.
12:29Some of life's best upgrades happen behind a closed bathroom door. For a limited time, our listeners get 10 % off their first bidet order when you use code SNARK at checkout. That's 10 % off your first bidet order at hellotushy.com with promo code SNARK. Again, go to hellotushy, T-U-S-H-Y.com and use code SNARK for 10 % off your first bidet order. Your bathroom routine can do so much better. And frankly, so can your bottom. You guys know I go through these phases where I'm like, okay, I'm finally going to clean out my closet. and then I end up finding pieces I completely forgot I even owned. But there are always those things that I keep telling myself I'm going to wear again.
13:07And let's be honest, it's just not happening. That's why I'm so excited that today's episode is sponsored by Vinted. Vinted is a secondhand marketplace app that makes really easy to sell clothes you're no longer wearing. I finally started listing some of the things that were just taking up space. And honestly, Vinted made the whole process so simple. Listing items was quick. You keep everything you earn, and the Vinted app is free to download.

15:26so you make a good point and shannon and fluently forward she did a really good tiktok about how taylor swift in this album she focuses more on the negative and she does the positive you guys all think that i can't keep a man well look at i'm married and he's the love of my life she's always like giving the haters more attention than they even deserve and i feel like the quieter you are about your haters the more unbothered that you are but then clearly she's Very bothered. And that's what's very confusing because you have the world at your fingertips. You're the most famous celebrity in the entire world, but you're still so bothered.
15:58And what I get really annoyed about, it's like with Cleveland, I see all these manic Swifties on TikTok being like, you guys just aren't getting it. This is satire. Yeah. Yeah. And you're not playing. If you're watching on video, I'm doing the hand motion that they do. Right. If you watch on YouTube, which is on our show notes, but people are like, you're just not getting it. Cleveland is satire and you guys are doing exactly what she planned on doing. And it's like, be that as it may, but when I'm listening to Taylor Swift, I don't care whether it's satire or not. Okay, I'm not in on that joke.
16:28I just want to listen to good music, period. And Cleveland is horrible. And I don't like it when Swifties try to like twist themselves into a pretzel to convince ourselves that this is all actually exactly what she wanted. It's not, be that as it may, again, I don't want to hear that. I want to hear good music. Yes. Yes. And even the Swifties that I have, I have seen a lot of Swifties being like, I can't defend her. So if Swifties are still, there are some Swifties that are still defending her, they're too far gone. Like there's nothing she could put out that they wouldn't defend. Yeah, there are diehards.
17:01And I think that when I look at the encore as a whole, I actually do believe that Cleveland is kind of watering down the rest of the songs. Because the more I listen to Patient Zero Babylon and Pink Clouding, I enjoy them more and more. that being said i think that those songs belong more in a 1989 vault track like musically lyrically they don't sound like folklore evermore ttpd midnights they just sound more of like her earlier storytelling her earlier albums and i think we are just so used we have now held taylor swift to such a high standard that when we get something that is outside of what we're we've been used to over the last six years we like are shocked and i i genuinely do think if these four songs came out from like, I'm putting Sabrina Carpenter out there.
17:44If they came from Sabrina Carpenter, we wouldn't be so harsh, but we have just held her to an incredibly high standard that she kind of dug her own hole. Yeah, I think that's absolutely true. And that's why with Shake It Off, like we were like, oh, she's just a fun pop girly. You know, that was pre-Folklore and Evermore. And then Folklore and Evermore, we were like, wow, she is the artiste of our generation she is the best songwriter we've ever seen right and yeah she set the standard really really really high and obviously the kind of songwriting that we've seen with these songs is not folklore evermore level even like i know that ttpd for you you think that ttpd was great songwriting yeah i think it was literally her strongest album like genuinely i think it's so everything about you guys will hear it okay in two days like me and rachel yeah we are like basically like listen to us like pounding the table because we're so invested in that album like every day i listen to that album like i'm not exaggerating so but yeah this is just none of that and i was listening to 1989 vault tracks the other day after encore came out and i was like this sounds like suburban legends slut like that's what it's giving oh my god it's just like First of all, I'm also from Ohio.
19:07Oh, yeah. So as if Cleveland hasn't been through enough.
19:17And also. Yeah. And also taking someone to Cleveland. That's that's a threat. that's the thing also is that people are like travis is a bad muse she went from writing about london paris like she you know joe alwyn say what you will about him he was an amazing muse maddie healy arguably great muse travis is not a good muse and for anyone who says she doesn't make good music when she's in love uh wrong not true reputation is all about joe and that's why she will refuse to re-record it. But that is some of her, lyrically, her strongest songs. Like, Call It What You Want is one of the most romantic, sweet songs she's ever written, in my opinion.
20:06And it has this kind of poppy beat. But if you listen to it, it's like, oh my god, how did you perfectly encapsulate the feeling of love? Like, it is so deep and beautiful. And I think Travis is kind of a doorknob. But I don't think it's about her being in love means creating bad songs. Quite the contrary. Oh, totally. I mean, there are lots... Correct me if I'm wrong. That Daylight is also about being in love. Amazing song. One of my favorite Taylor Swift songs. Yes. Invisible String. Yes. There are so many strong songs about being in love that she's written. And these just are not that. Yeah.
20:48I feel like I don't know what we're going to get next from her, but she always tries to outdo herself. Yeah. And again, I feel as if Taylor Swift has now catapulted it into a different stratosphere of fame, of wealth, of every category imaginable. And I feel like at this point, she truly doesn't care. Like, she is down to give us Cleveland, and I feel like she had to have known this was a bad song, so I don't, I think she just doesn't care anymore because she's already reached this level of fame. I think that she just has too many yes people around her. I think that she genuinely thought this was a good song.
21:23And she has so many people around her that were like, yeah, Taylor, totally. They're gonna love it. Like, I think that she does care a lot. And the fact that she probably will not win anything for Life of a Show. I mean, who knows? It's Taylor Swift. She definitely could. but like she might not win she might not even be nominated in some categories i don't even think she'll be nominated for exactly yeah honestly and i think that is what motivates her like remember in her um documentary yes where she found out she wasn't nominated for a reputation yeah and she goes i'm just gonna make a better album that's fine it's fine i'm i'm just gonna make a better album it's fine and she made lover after that i think that she's very much motivated by that stuff.
22:11And so I think that this will be motivation. I think she needs to take a break. She needs to go away for a little bit. I think that her creative juices, they're still there. I think she just needs to refine them and just take a break for a little bit and recalibrate and get new collaborators. And I think that she could come back with an insane comeback album. I know that she's capable of it. What do you think also of the theory that she dropped these songs on purpose on the same day as Olivia Rodrigo's first leg of her tour? She fucking would, dude. Taylor would. She is so petty when it comes to Olivia Rodrigo.
22:57And like, listen, I love Olivia and I love Taylor. I've loved Taylor longer, but I sure as shit love Olivia. Love Olivia. She needs to stop bullying her. It's like not cute and not funny anymore. It's like really bullying behavior and that it's 100 % intentional. So you don't think it was like a coincidence? No, it's never a coincidence. It's never a coincidence with her. Oh my God. Ever. I thought that you would like say, you know, it was probably a coincidence. No, no. She knows exactly what she's doing every single time. You know what? That's going to be what really, really, really lights a fire under her ass is Olivia winning album of the year at the Grammys for You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, which I think that she will.
23:38Yeah. No, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl in Love is way better than Showgirl. Lyrically, musically, everything. It's an incredible album. And I do think, I mean, she literally talks about it in her Red Vault tracks when she talks about nothing new. She is so threatened by Olivia. And that's why she had to take her down rather than uplift her. This is why Taylor Swift will always uplift Sabrina Carpenter. Listen, Sabrina Carpenter is a fabulous entertainer. I love her outfits. I love that she's cutesy. I love that all of her songs are witty and punny, but they're not that deep. That's why Taylor Swift is platforming Sabrina, because Sabrina will never be the next Taylor.
24:14Sabrina's going to be the next. I'm trying to think, like, who preceded Sabrina that she more aligns with. That's kind of tough, because it's a little different than any other artist we've had, but she's not Taylor. She's more of like a pop like dance hit. She's not necessarily like the ballad storytelling that Olivia Rodrigo does. And Olivia's storytelling and her lyricism is unmatched. It is incredible that even Sour was written when she was like 18. Like I forget Olivia's like 22 years old. I keep thinking she's in her mid to late 20s just because her lyrics are so deep. I'm like, this girl's so bright.
24:55She's so young. How has she had so much experience being like a little tween, you know? Yeah. But she is so damn talented. Yeah. And I just feel like she, that's why you never meet your heroes because Olivia met Taylor. Taylor did at one point uplift her and champion her until she felt threatened by her. And that I will never defend Taylor for. Wow. So. An honest Swifty. Yeah. Yeah, because, listen, I can love Taylor and love her for, you know, forever, but I can also admit when she can be a bully, and she is one of the biggest bullies in Hollywood. Why is it that she has so much beef with so many women?
25:33I mean, you know, Katy Perry, Olivia Rodrigo, who else? There's got to be more. I'm sure there's more that I'm just not thinking of. Okay, I want to talk about, in the same vein, Patient Zero music video. Did you watch this? I watched it this morning. Yes, I did watch it. It felt like so AI to me. I don't know why. Oh, my God. Not me saying this was such a moving, a moving music. Oh, my God. You're so funny. I loved it. I felt like I was watching a movie and I love her casting decision. First of all, I love Colin Farrell. He's a king. Not one because, like, he's cute and he has an accent. And I love the advocacy work he does for his son.
26:15Like, his son was born with Angelman syndrome. It's a really rare. Oh, my God. I had no idea. Oh, and he does so much advocacy work. He has created a camp for children with disabilities. And it's a way for children to congregate and interact with one another and feel like a sense of belonging. But also what's amazing is that parents can also meet and mingle. And also, like, they can, for once, you know, separate from their child, knowing that their child is safe with these, like, counselors that are very learned in how to handle children with disabilities. so that they can also just have a life and be free of caregiving for a bit.
26:52It's amazing what he's done. And he did this whole interview with People Magazine a couple of years ago. And it broke my heart because I feel like so many people, so many parents with children that have some disabilities, like what will happen to my child when I pass? Because I will more likely than not pass before them. So how can I make sure that they're cared and handled for? And he's like, this camp is going to be part of that. Like feeling like your child is safe. No, like I literally, he's a king. Obsessed with him. I love him. Yes. And I love Dakota Johnson. We did an entire episode on Patreon about her lore.

27:25And I feel like her nepotism and the way that she's navigated fame makes me like her even more. Yeah, me too. She has been such a fashion plate lately too. Doing press for, I guess it's Verity. Yeah. And she just kills it every time. She's so hot. Did you hear her cameo on role model song? no but remember when they were dating and did you see that role model was just linked to hunter shaffer yep yep i did i did and i didn't they were briefly dating and now she's with mgk she's with mgk oh yeah yes you've been offline for a week so you probably have oh my god wait oh that's so crazy no no so sophie do you want to know what's crazy so before patient zero was even announced that she was in the video dumois posted dakota johnson's scene leaving taylor swift's apartment with mgk in tow and everyone's like that's one less original sentence i'll ever see like it was like so wild they're like three people i would have never expected dakota johnson taylor swift mgk yeah oh i'm so glad i'm breaking this to you on air oh my god sophie's hand is over her mouth she's actually shocked you guys i actually like can't process this information and apparently megan fox was telling it was like fans or people like in megan fox's team note that she's very concerned for Dakota Johnson now that she's linked with MGK, her ex.
28:49She's concerned. No, I know. No, isn't that weird? Oh my God, I'm scared. You go from Chris Martin, okay, which is like, okay, you seem like a normal guy, a well-adjusted gentleman. Yeah. To role model, which is, huh, kind of random, but like. Sure, why not? Sure. Also, there's a bit of an age gap, but love that for you, Queen. and then to MGK. Like, she's going like this. I know. It's like, and like I said, she's so hot. She could get anyone she wanted. She needs like a financier, a la Sophie Turner. Someone who's not thirsty. Someone who's just like a hard worker, makes some good money. Yeah, like I don't understand her taste.
29:30But you know what? As Taylor Swift would say, I like what I like. And I like, he likes what he likes. He likes what he likes. Please. Please. Please. So the patient music video, I think that Taylor looked incredible. Everyone looked incredible. I love the backdrops. I love the wardrobe. I love how it was like succession type wealth, the beautiful home, the fancy parties. Like everything looked good. And there are so many theories online and I can't actually figure out which one is correct because they all actually seem legitimate. it obviously the first one being the most common like uh theory is that this song is about sophie turner and joe jonas yes because right when you know she did write about joe jonas and said i used to i forgot what the lyric is but she's like i had an axe to grind with my exes but now i give their babies presents so everyone's like oh so she's good with joe jonas we assume that was that the lyric was about joe yes but remember when sophie turner and him divorced and she was seen out and about taylor like non-stop so everyone was like oh this is probably about sophie and joe easy answer but there's also a couple of other theories that i just wanted to point out people could thought that it could potentially be about halsey calling taylor swift about maddie healy i saw that as a theory calling her like because halsey dated maddie healy oh sorry this was before her and maddie healy got back together in 2023 this is like in the interim period in that decade that like they were being in a situation ship so or they think it could be about from Selena's POV and Haley calling Selena about Justin, which honestly, I could buy that.
31:07People also think it could be about Scooter Braun or Scott Borchetta, which I actually very much believe this could be a theory. This is a very strong theory. And this is not because when I listened to the song, I thought this, watching the music video, I'm like, oh, shit, this is a huge Easter egg and I'll get into that. Or could it potentially be about Taylor's relationship with alcohol? remember like in reputation she talked a lot about drinking she talks about drinking a lot in midnights and then the first lyric of fortnight is i was a functioning alcoholic until i was a functioning alcoholic till nobody noticed my new aesthetic so then we're like whoa taylor admitting she was a functioning alcoholic for a period of time that's news but there's a lot of imagery within the video that points to this theory that it could be like a metaphor for her relationship with alcohol.
31:56So Colin kind of like would represent alcohol and like his relationship like with someone who's a narcissist, crazy person, it's intoxicating at first. Like you lean on alcohol and it does actually work for you for a period of time. It does help you kind of like push your demons aside until it no longer does work. And Dakota and Colin are intoxicated with one another. Colin seemingly poisons Dakota's drink, which leads her to fall out at this party and then embarrassing her. And then he calls her out for it in the car ride home. And it's like a really scary scene. Actually, he's like very abusive and narcissistic and scary.
32:27And then there's a subsequent scene of Dakota stumbling over a toilet like she's vomiting from the alcohol. So, I don't know. I thought that was an interesting theory. But I also think it's possible for the song to be about multiple people because she often will do this with her songs. I think LOML is a perfect example that we talk about on Thursday's episode where the entire thing, I think, is about Maddie. And there's like one singular lyric that makes me think it's about joe and on first listen i was like oh ellen you're the loss of my life i'm like that has to be about joe she was with him for like almost a decade but then the all the lyrics point to maddie except one single lyric but there were some easter eggs okay so could this song actually be about scooter brawn and yael cohen so in the very end when they shoot to taylor swift's head gravestone the head headstone the date is 1986 to 2022 and if you guys didn't know yael cohen scooter bronze ex-wife was born in 86 and scooter and yael divorced in 2022 huh so i was like that seems kind of intentional like taylor's was born in 89 so like why would she choose to have an 86 right birthday that was very very odd that's definitely intentional right and then there was like this long table in the music video when dakota and colin are fighting and i immediately thought of the tolerated set on the aries tour like immediately and then i went on reddit of people discussing the song and everyone else had that theory too it's like a long table where um they're on either side of it also taylor's been teasing this song for months remember that marishka hargitay snl thing when she was like saccharide aries from the vineyard north or south saccharide is a synonym for sugar which is the show that colin feral stars in on apple tv aries is the zodiac sign of the rams and quarterback matthew stafford of the rams makes a quick cameo in this video from the vineyard is a literal old french english translation of to of the vine or from the vineyard and car de la vene stars in the video and she is colin farrell's mistress and then north or south i think is the most obvious dakota johnson dakota north dakota south dakota so i thought there's like just a bunch of little things not not today jigsaw i'm not in the mood I remember when you told me that you're like Taylor Swift's like the Swifties are like she is Jigsaw from Saw.
34:46She's Jigsaw. Like she's like riding around on her little bicycle. Oh my God. Like not today. And I was just like oh my God. So I'm curious. What do you think is the most compelling theory about all these Easter eggs? Like I actually think the Scooter Braun is like. That the 1986 gravestone that actually is that's definitely an intentional Easter egg obviously. So what is the connection there? Is it, Yael Cohen? Yeah, because remember in Draw the Cat Eye Sharp Enough to Kill a Man? And that's about, everyone thinks, about when Yael divorced Scooter, or sorry, when Scooter divorced because he's the one who actually filed.
35:23Did she call Taylor? That's from Midnight's, right? Correct. Vigilante shit. That's when it started to go downhill. there are there were some um you know uh saving graces on that album for sure maroon best song ever i think that's one for strongest songs what else um you're on your own kid i love that song yeah there are some good ones kid but like that's when she started writing in memes like what do you mean draw the cat eye sharp sharp enough to kill a man like that is like a a meme. Like, that's a long time. She did not come up with that. Oh, Lavender Haze. Oh, yeah. So good. Sweet Nothing.
36:08Like, there are some great songs on that album. But that's when the songwriting started to go downhill. Yeah. No, I, well, no, I don't agree. But. Because then, because then on Life of a Showgirl, you know, when she goes, oh, my God, What were some of her like worst lyrics on Life of a Showgirl? Oh, Eldest Daughter was so stupid. Wishless. Stupid. Which is like, I want a neighborhood that looks exactly like Travis. Got the whole block looking like you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I thought Eldest Daughter was going to be some like magical song because it was number five and it was probably one of her worst songs ever.
36:51Which one? Eldest Daughter. Oh, oh, okay. I have a lyric from Life of a Show Girl that, again, is like she's talking in common freezes. Did you girl boss too close to the sun? Oh, yeah. Did you girl boss too close to the sun? It's just not deep. And also the talk singing that she's doing now. Her new thing is like the talk singing that she does on Cleveland. And it's like what happened to like the vocals. And Patient Zero as well. The bridge is just all, I heard you. Like it's, I don't like that. I was telling Snarkbait Girls that it's giving Sam Hunt because Sam Hunt loves to yap in his videos and not sing.
37:31And it drives me absolutely bonkers. Yeah. Like, Taylor, you don't need to do that. And then also, I saw this pointed out and I thought this was really interesting. Tolerate It is like one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs of all time. And in Tolerate It, she says, my love should be celebrated, but you tolerate it. And then in Cleveland, she says, you just have to find the one person that doesn't find you completely insufferable. It's like, wait, so he's just tolerating you? Yeah. Again, it's doubling. It's continuing to focus and magnify the negatives. People find you completely insufferable.
38:06They think that you can't hold down a man. They call you a whore. They say you have a fat ass. Like, you know what I mean? It's like, it's surface level. um one other thing that i wanted to talk about is so i got dinner with katie janella from real housewives of orange county first of all queen she assigned to the same podcast network um cloud 10 of bravo's most wanted and she is so sweet but you want to know like she spilled a lot of tea and i won't talk about it publicly but what i will say is you know what she actually had to say that i found was totally shocking what guess who was the most genuine on the ensemble cast of oc like you know most of them like gina emily heather tamra vicky yeah yeah yeah even though i haven't watched it like right like you're familiar with all these players yes out of all them who is the most genuine and normal genuine and real a la maddie pruitt heather dubrow uh she said that she was a second most normal but no who tamra which i was like i refuse to believe that no i refuse to believe it she was like no like tamra is so sweet like she still checks checks in on me like she's even though she has nothing to gain from that by the way tamra has nothing to gain from reaching out to katie katie's not off the show she was shocking that's shocking because tamra is a horrible person in my eyes but you know what sure why i know but i think that like you know i was also thinking about it tamra has had she's not an og oc housewife but she's like pretty damn close she has a really really top every time i go to our charts because it's we do tv and film in a pod always number number like number two and she also has like a very successful cbd company that olivia loves loves she's like you know like the products are actually like stellar Yeah.
39:58That woman is probably low-key. She's low-key so wealthy. Like, I think it's kind of like covert. You know what? I think they needed, she needed to close Cut Fitness in order to focus on the real moneymakers. Oh, my God. I forgot. I love how Ben and Mike, when they always call him a Cut Fitness. Yeah. Instead of saying the C word on Watch What Crappens, they call it a Cut Fitness. I know. But yeah. Are you still keeping up with OC this season? Unfortunately, it's actually horrible. Oh, my God. I've only heard horrible things, so I have no FOMO about not keeping up with OC. Salt Lake City just premiered its sixth season.
40:37It's been two episodes now, and I am loving it. It is just, I mean, it's just one of the best franchises out there right now. It is so, so, so good. The cast is perfect, even though Heather Gay is annoying as hell. I really wouldn't change anything about the cast. And that is so rare to say. And then Next Gen NYC also wrapped up. Dude, I started watching. Oh, my God. Wait, are you watching the first season or the second? No, I'm just starting right to the second. Oh, okay, okay, okay. Yeah, it's so good. Unbelievable. Yeah, it's so good. I can't even imagine. So good. I can't believe I've been sitting on this.
41:16Like, I'm upset. Yeah, I'm so happy that you're finally watching it. So they just wrapped up with their reunion part two. And, oh, my God, it was like the funniest hot mic moment. Spoiler alert for Christy, because I know you're behind. No, it's OK. Where we know that Charlie and Ariana like hook up. Yeah. He's gross. I know. So this season is all about Ariana balancing or like trying to figure out between Liam, Charlie. Liam, who's like the nice guy that's obsessed with her, Charlie, the bad boy, and then her ex, Hudson. And she obviously hooks up with Charlie. And then at the reunion, she's like, no, I wasn't in love with Charlie.
41:56And Charlie's like, OK, I'm not going to say, like, something that will out you, something that will embarrass you. And so then probably realizing that his mic is hot, he's talking to Ava, like, when they take a break. And he goes, she did love me because you know what she said. And Ava's like, what? Stop. Oh, my God. You make my pussy tingle. What does that have to do with love? Those are completely not synonymous at all. You can make someone's pussy tingle and them not be in love with you. Yeah. What? That's just called being horny. That's called being horny. Yeah. What are you talking about?
42:33That's called being attracted to you. That has nothing to do with her being in love with you. Like, what are you talking about? He obviously just wanted to embarrass her. I love Liam. Sorry. I love Liam. I know. He's Karen Culkin. Speaking of Ben and Ronnie, they do an amazing Liam impression where you're just like, do they? Yeah, like, I'm an actor, so, uh. You need to listen. I'm an actor. That's what we call it in the biz. So, I did quite the deep dive, because when I started season two, I don't know who any of these people are, right? And I know who Gia Giudice is, Ariana Bierman, but I didn't know any of these other people.
43:09So, I did deep dive on all their parents. Do you know who's the richest? Hudson. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, Hudson's a billionaire. Billionaire, billionaire, billionaire family. I also was just on the Bravo Investigator podcast where she walks me through a deep dive of Charlie Zaccor's entire background and upbringing and his parents. So that, if you're interested in, is on the Bravo Investigator. And we dive into all things Charlie and why he is the way he is. It kind of makes a lot of sense that he is kind of a fuck up. I'm not going to lie. Yeah. He, to me, I was talking, I have two guests saying over my best friend Emily and her husband, and they just started watching Next Gen.
43:50And I was like, Sophie always tells me to watch it. So like, no, you got to watch it. Start with season two. I was like, okay, okay, I'll do it. And me and Emily were talking, we're like, he, I'll say it without saying it. He gives me what Emrata's husband was giving. Charlie? Yes. Oh, yeah. That there's like something like you're not just going over there at 4 a.m. for weed. Like he, I think, is some sort of. He's slinging. I'm not I'm not saying. Yeah, I'm not saying accusing him of being like a drug dealer, but he definitely they are partaking. And that's why that's that's what they're not saying.
44:27They're not going over there to smoke weed. Right. like especially in this day and age like you can get weed in new york yeah no 100 anywhere like yeah um so that is that a next gen nyc wait i do know who else i think is cute i love liam and i love shy listen oh shy is a cutie and they're so cute i love shy he's such a cutie i love him too and um i really hate how okay so at the reunion they talk about how they went on this bahamas trip that charlie planned and they left out georgia and even though georgia would piss me off probably to be around in person no they didn't invite her i like feel bad like i feel like they don't like georgia they don't like shy but um but you know what the cast works so they gotta they They got to stick with it.
45:23Do you think Georgia and Shy will be asked? Because wasn't this Shy's first season? No, Shy was on season one, but in a very, very, very, he was like friend of Charlie's roommate, I believe, who's who's not on the show in season two. So, yeah, I think Shy will be asked back. First of all, he was sitting in front of Georgia on the couch, which I thought was shocking because Georgia is not only a fan favorite, but like I thought was involved in a good amount of the drama this season. So I was surprised by that. I think that Georgia will 100%. Yeah, they'll both be ass back, I think. And what else?
45:58Oh, I know you're probably not watching this, but you need to, is Trader's New Blood. Oh, yeah. Like, I think it's because it's not celebrities. Oh, my God. But it's so good. I just finished turning point, though, by the way. I'm obsessed. Oh, finally. I know. Obsessed. We moved on, Christy. No. That was months ago. We've moved on. No, literally. I never, here I am like fucking like a clown watching OC and I'm not watching. No, you need to watch Traders New Blood, you guys. So like, if you don't know, I am obsessed with every season of the Traders internationally. And Traders UK is Civilians also.
46:34And there's something so good about the civilian seasons because they actually need the money. Yeah. And you don't have preconceived notions about them. Like with the celebrities, I feel like it's like, oh no, the housewives are banding together. Oh, no, like this housewife is acting weird or whatever it is. Like they don't know each other. There are no preconceived notions. It is so good. I love it. There have been four episodes. They've dropped like two and then two. And there's not a new episode this week, which pisses me off because they ended the last episode on a cliffhanger. But so I think the next episode is the week of like October.
47:07I think it's October 8th. Anyway, you need to watch it, Chrissy, so we can talk about it. I am obsessed with Traitor's New Blood. It is so good. Yeah, Traders is, I'm really excited for the new celebrity season. I was dying when you posted the cast on our Instagram and you commented, Craig's going to be so confused. He's going to be so confused. And he's also going to be the worst faithful alive. And so he wants to be a traitor so badly, you know? No, no, no. But he's going to be a faithful and he is going to be the worst faithful we've ever seen. He's going to be a Colton. And so therefore, he will make it to the end because the traders are going to be like, yeah, we need this dumbass.
47:45He'll never figure us out. You know, that's the frustrating thing about traders. And I think we've talked about this. The way that like traders will always have the upper hand. They need to change it because I feel like they need to encourage people to be better. Yes. Yeah. So the good thing about traders new blood is that they actually have some new things that are making it. They have clues about who the traders are revealed at certain points. And they add money to the prize pot when you banish a trader. So, again, there's incentive there to banish traders instead of trying to keep them around so you can stay on their good side.
48:22Oh, see, that's brilliant. Yes, that is going to up the stakes and make a better, more fair game, in my opinion. I highly recommend you guys. And, again, if you have not watched Traders UK, it's arguably better than – and not just the celebrity. There's a celebrity season that's really good. But I think it's four civilian seasons, all on Peacock. Claudia Winkleman is host. Arguably better than Alan Cumming is host. She is so fucking funny. Yeah, she is. I did watch Traitors UK season one where Aaron from Little Island. She always goes, the traitors are laughing at you. She's always just deadpan.
48:57Oh, my God. I love her so much. I just love the traitors, you guys. I love it. Chrissy, didn't you apply for this new blood? No. And now you're not even watching? No, I wanted to apply and me and Sarah had this whole plan and I was like, I just don't even have, I don't have the will to record. So we never ended up doing it. Oh, damn it. I know. I know. I should have. Also, did you watch like the VMAs last night? I didn't. I didn't. But I just want to say that speaking of Taylor Swift, she looked incredible. Oh, dude, yeah. I mean. Yeah. Yeah, she did. She did. I love her. She looked really good.
49:34I did not watch, but yeah, she looked great. And she got presented the new, it was like the Visionary Director Award. It's a brand new award. Artist Director Award presented by Dakota Johnson. And apparently this was a new, brand new award. And it was exclusively for her. That they made exclusively for Taylor Swift. So yeah, but curious what your guys' thoughts are on, I know you guys will tell us your thoughts on the encore. I'm sure a lot of you loved it. So I'm sorry that I did it. No, I think you were - Actually, you know what? I'm not sorry. I'm allowed to have an opinion. Opposing sides, which is good.
50:14Yeah. Yeah. I was going to say too about the artist director thing. One last thing on that. Emily, my friend that sang with me, we were talking about it right before we recorded. She thinks there's theories on Twitter that Taylor is going to start just moving into full directorial like movies and this was her because she every music video that she does it's always like written by taylor swift directed by taylor swift produced by taylor swift like it's always that and she's like i bet you she's going to try and like direct movies and and just direct movies and not make music probably both honestly but she has talked about how much she loves directing like all of her music videos are directed by her i saw a clip of i think it was karma was it car karma's you got a friend see again that's when the lyrics started to go downhill midnights yeah um but that music video with ice spice and it was a clip going around of her being like so the cat that you're holding will turn into the like um fortune what's it called the ball crystal ball yeah yeah yeah the crystal yeah it was like a horrible transition but she says it Like it's so like it's like the smartest idea in the whole world.

54:21um okay do you have a dark energy object this week um honestly i've been you know i've been doing good i'm on some new shit so no oh my god i'm so proud of you yeah so what's yours mine is people who loudly slurp on their drinks just just sip it like a normal person wait i have some coffee left i'm i'm so sorry i'm going to like demonstrate a little bit okay oh yeah yeah yeah i was at the airport yesterday so many people every time like that like that every time someone was sitting next to me i could hear their slurps why do you have to slurp it like that just drink it like a normal person Right.
55:11Because it's always like when there's like a speck left, shoot it. Yeah. Yeah. No, that is annoying. You don't need to sip it. Or slurp it, I mean. Slurp it. What's your LEO? Light energy object. I have two. So speaking of airports, picking one airline and sticking with it for the rest of your life. For me, it's Delta. Did you hear about United? How, trigger warning, there was a woman on a United flight who was sitting next to a man who was masturbating. what and she got up and she told the flight attendants and she's like i don't want to sit there they were like there's no other seat so you gotta sit there and then like i guess you could just file a police report made her sit next to this man and there was no disciplinary action taken by the airline towards this man um it is like again just one of the many stories in the news lately that is very triggering as a woman.
56:07So fuck you, United. I'm a Delta. That's fucking crazy. I know it's disgusting. I am a Delta girl for life. And it just makes like upgrading, like I was able to upgrade my flights and like during, you know, these really, really, really hard moments in life when you're flying home for not so fun reasons. And I'm like, if there's any time to upgrade myself it's right now and i'm able to upgrade for really cheap these days because i have been such a loyal delta girly for so long and shout out to henry for for turning me into a loyal delta girly so highly recommend choosing one airline and like just sticking with it forever no i completely make your life so what's your airline united unfortunately oh no no because you know the reason for that is because when i lived in san francisco like delta is more of an east coast like uh the hub is like more east coast but like when i lived in sf all the flights back to oc were always united were the cheapest you know i've just gotten so much loyalty and i have a credit card so it like i get so many perks from being so i completely agree like having one airline because when i i think i talked about this last week when i went to london my flight with virgin atlantic was just canceled like and they try to rebook me on a flight with a layover to seattle to London and the layover was one hour and I was like get the fuck out of here like so then I ended up just I just used my own money and I purchased a direct flight with United from LA to London and I was out like a lot of money but I was like I'm not gonna risk not getting to London and wasting a second day by missing a layover god forbid it was yeah I completely agree so me and my mom were saying like because we're gonna go back to London for like um in a couple months we're like we're never not doing United.
57:56Yeah, I remember also every time I visited you, there's no Delta flights going to John Wayne Gacy Airport.
58:05Or whatever it's called. What's it called?
58:12What's the airport called? It's just John Wayne. John Wayne Gacy. John Wayne Gacy.
58:27yeah that's a true random sean no and like apparently it's like a revolt who is he john wayne no but like john wayne was like a low-key like not even low-key the kai kee a racist so people in orange county are like trying to revolt against like changing who even was he i think he was like a i don't know i think he was like a man that like liked to ride horses and like like he had a big bow that people like hold on sean way what the fuck oh he was an actor oh and he was in western and war movies i'm fucking dying john wayne kids like who even is he no i know like are we supposed to know too yeah oh speaking of like murders um did you you didn't watch the new season of american horror story did you uh i watched the first episode oh my god it's so bad no like what's going on it's so bad there's absolutely no plot and it's just revisiting like the older seasons and the older characters it's emma roberts going surprise bitch like it's trying to have like iconic moments but there is absolutely no plot so yeah it's i watched the first episode and the entire plot was him going one two three counting to 13 it's like we get it it is so so so bad but my other leo is 90s slash early 2000s erotic thrillers.
59:52I watched Unfaithful and Double Jeopardy recently. Basic Instinct is another one. Like, they are just so good. And it was back when movies were, like, a very concise, like, I feel like 90 minutes, you know? Like, movies were not bloated or overly long. Just exactly what you need. Everything is, you know, straight to the point. Just pure entertainment. When you wrote that, I was thinking of Fatal Attraction with Glenn Close. yes bunny boiler that one is crazy yeah that's a great one they're just so what's your what's your guys's favorite like erotic thriller from the 90s or early 2000s i'm still talking about john wayne casey like i don't get it why do i know that they talk about john wing as if like he's an american president like we don't know who that is yeah like what he was some like spaghetti western actor yeah like okay it's like we have enough of those okay we don't need to like name an airport after him again right i heard he's a racist so people are trying to get it removed so fuck that um okay my leo was when i was in london i was taking such good photos of my friend that i was traveling with and we were at big ben and i found on tiktok which by the way tiktok is such a good place for you to find like spots that aren't necessarily like littered with tourists so people aren't in your photo.
1:01:18So I followed this girl's instructions. We had like a really good viewpoint of Big Ben where no one was around. And I was like directing Angie. I was like, okay, now turn to your right. Now laugh a little. Put your head back. Okay, now put your hand on. Like I was telling her what to do and like she had great pictures and she just posted. I'm like, yeah, look what I did for you. So anyways, as I was doing this for my girlfriend, these two guys came out to me and they tapped me and go, excuse me, miss. Do you mind doing exactly what you're doing for her, for us? And I was like, yeah. Yeah. And then the same thing happened at Tower Bridge.
1:01:49This young woman, she barely spoke English. And she went out to me. She said, can you please do what you're doing for her for me? And we were taking such good photos. Like, you know, at this time, you know, we're not leaving until the routine is clean, you know? Yeah. That's a mitzvah, as we say. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It's a good deed. Yeah. So I just felt really good. especially because i feel like asking people to take a picture of me or asking someone to take a picture of me and whoever i'm with is always so embarrassing for no reason no it shouldn't be embarrassing but it's it's really nice when the person is very enthusiastic about it like when i get someone to take a picture of like you know if me and henry are traveling like it's so funny on our honeymoon we have like maybe one picture of us that isn't a selfie because we just never asked anyone to take it's so embarrassing and like men won't ask they don't care yeah exactly so So, and then when you have someone take your iPhone and they're like, I took 30.
1:02:44I'm like, perfect. Thank you. Or they took 30 and it's like, have you seen those TikToks? It's like when I ask my husband to take photos of me and my girlfriend. And it's always like, and it's like the guy like shaking like, okay, okay. And like all the girlfriends, I look humongous. Why would you take that photo? Like everyone just like crucifying him because it's like, yeah, it's a big job. It is a big job. It's serious. It's serious. so yeah guys that's that on that again merch patreon what else sub stack every friday um all that is in our show notes so yeah anything else i think that's it thank you guys for being here.
1:03:30We love you so much and we'll see you either tomorrow on Patreon or Thursday. Yep. Talk to you guys in a couple days or tomorrow. Bye. Bye. Bye.
