Key claims
- Valley reunion was “lackluster”; Andy Cohen called out Danny’s drinking and emotional violence; fans defending Danny are “insane.”
- Meghan/Harry moving back to the UK is framed as confusing given prior safety concerns; Meghan’s “The Gentleman” casting offer was allegedly rescinded due to UK backlash.
- Siren branding is exclusionary/centered on Sweeney; sales are failing; pricing is “absurd.”
- Chase Stokes is portrayed as “harmless,” possibly sidelined in Outer Banks press; hosts feel he’s being left out compared to co-stars.
Notable examples
- Andy Cohen: “Let’s not talk about last season… you have a poor relationship with alcohol.”
- Siren product pricing: $269 corset; $39 bralette; $19 underwear.
- Outer Banks press: co-stars laughing/dabbing while Chase looks “odd one out.”

1:15Hey, everybody. Welcome back to Snarkbait. I'm Sophie. I'm Christy. How we doing? How was your weekend? It is Monday, August 24th. I had to put my phone on D &D. I always forget. It. How was my weekend? Yeah, it was OK. Just OK. OK. Wow. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, there's just a couple of things on my mind, Nance. No. OK. But for the most part, you know, this will be my LEO. But in the spirit of things being out of control, I was just like, I need to do something for me, you know. So I booked a trip to London to see my sister again, even though she just left. She left yesterday. So I'm going to see Monroe all over again.
2:14And also, how sweet is this?
2:19my sister's antenatal group, they're all baby snarks now and they're obsessed with the show. So every time they hear about Monroe, they're like, oh my gosh, I'm a bit of celebrity because I know the daughter. Yeah. I know your daughter. I know. I always love it when like our sister's friends listen. Yeah. Yeah. A bunch of my sister's friends came to our Chicago live show. So cute. I love that. Oh, and also my sister recently started a new job. And it's somehow... Congratulations to Mandy. Yeah, congrats, Mandy. And she... I forgot how it came up that she was like, oh, my sister's a podcaster and has a podcast called Snarkbait.
2:56And one of her new co-workers, I think I told you this, is a baby snark. And it was like the perfect icebreaker. That's crazy. Like, that is so cool. And the fact that it was... Because Audrey told her friend, her mom friends, about our show. But the fact that it was just like serendipitously, Mandy's co-worker knew about Snarkbait. It's very cool. That never gets old. Yeah, I love it. And yeah, I also had a pretty boring weekend. I mean, I spent time with my in-laws. We went to my in-laws and the weather was like giving fall this weekend, which I loved. Like there is a chill in the air. I'm sure it's going to be like 90 degrees this week again in New York.
3:38But I loved kind of the fall preview weather-wise this weekend. I'm like, I'm obsessed with fall. I'm sorry. Like, I'm going to miss summer, but I'm not one of those people that's like, oh, my God, I'm so sad. Summer's over. I'm like, yes, spring on fall. Okay. Must be nice because everyone needs to check on your Southern California friends because we're experiencing like a really severe heat wave and we have been for the last month. Oh, God, I'm sorry. And do you see this bruise, by the way? Hey, what's that from? Dude, I know. For you guys watching on YouTube, I'm like so self-conscious about this bruise.
4:09I get allergy shots because I have really severe allergies. and the nurse, it was a new nurse, and it's supposed to be a subcutaneous shot, so it's not supposed to go super deep. Right. But she definitely did because I had like a welt. That is not normal, you guys. I thought it was like, I was like, do you have a birthmark that I didn't know about? It's like huge. It's really, really bad. And if you think this looks bad, it was worse. This is almost a week old. Wait, I love how Christy's like, I'm really self-conscious about my bruise. And she's lifting up her arm and she's wearing a tank top.
4:41Who wants to see it? Who wants to see the new bruise? I love it. What were we talking about? We were talking about, oh, the heat wave. Oh, yeah. So I'm genuinely, I've not been okay. Like, it's not funny anymore. It's really, really hot. It's like 97. It's too hot for us. Like, I've just been indoors with AC on. So that's kind of been my weekend. But, I mean, we've got much to discuss. I do feel, I mean, it has to be said, I saw that Hayden Panettiere's mother, Leslie Vogel, did an interview with Good Morning America. Did you see that? Oh, my God. I didn't see the interview. I saw her statement.
5:25Yeah, so now she's doing press. Oh, my God. And mind you, they have had, obviously, a totally fraught relationship. Her mother sounds like a total narcissist. her first statement that she put out was you know just so inappropriate they were completely estranged right um oh my god so what was this what was this interview so i watched about seven minutes of it and she was essentially saying that hayden's account of her firing her mother via her book saying that when she told her mother hey i don't want you to manage me anymore and her mom responded, you owe me. That is not Leslie Vogel's recap of experiences.
6:08She's like, I don't remember that. I stepped out of her trailer and I didn't say those words. I wouldn't have said those words. She has blamed and put a lot of blame on Brian Hickerson, who is Hayden Panettaer's on again, off again, very domestically violent boyfriend. She kept saying that the reason her and Hayden were estranged was because she insisted that she no longer wanted Hayden to see Brian and Hayden wanted to be with what she said, quote, the man that she loved. And Leslie was very vehement on her not returning. So I don't know. To me, it just feels a little bit too soon. And also the fact that your daughter is not here to defend her account of events.
6:44Exactly. It's like, you know that Hayden, if she were alive, would completely dispute all of this. Exactly. As she has many times. Yeah. So it just felt really in poor form. And it's been, you know, it's been you know a week since your daughter has passed and um she i don't know she also looks very different just um yeah leslie vogel looks very different from the photos that i've seen of her and hayden but um yeah i was a little honestly disturbed is the best way i could describe it she's a very disturbing person and it's sad that even in death her mom is still um exploiting exploiting her and just seems like an absolute total narcissist.
7:29Truly. Yeah, it's really disturbing. So that kind of kicked off my morning, and maybe that's why I'm a little bit down in the dumps. Yeah, understandably. But, I mean, shall we just get into the topics at hand? I do want to talk about the Valley reunion because I see that that is number one on the docket for you. Yes, what were your thoughts? I did watch it. Okay, I think when it comes to the Valley, this season was disturbing, to say the least. I think this is a lesson in parenting and how to wisely choose your partners. I don't think there's a single person on the show that I am rooting for, genuinely.
8:03The men on the show are incredibly disturbing. And honestly, the reunion was pretty lackluster for me. I feel like there was nothing really entirely memorable that was said or done. We didn't learn anything new. All we know is I'm doubling down on the fact that I think Luke and Danny are POSs. Who's the other guys on the couch? Oh, Jason and Jesse. Jesse. I mean, they kind of had a lower storyline this season, but I didn't really learn anything new. But I will say that I was incredibly proud of Andy Cohen for calling out Danny. Danny kept saying and insisting that his drinking and his behavior this season was a direct result of Jax calling him out in season two and how he was wrestling with the fact that Jax was going to, quote, bring him down.
8:43And Danny literally, I mean, Andy literally said, quote, let's not talk about last season. I want to talk about what we saw this season, which was, it seems like you have a poor relationship with alcohol. And I was so relieved that Andy Cohen just called it like he saw it because, Danny, we're not rehashing season two. This is the season three reunion. Jax is no longer on this stage. So what do you have to say about your behavior drinking every time and being very, very emotionally violent to your wife? Yeah, no, I was proud of Andy also. He looked exasperated. He looked like he fucking hated being there.
9:18And honestly, same, same. Like, we're all exasperated. I'm so done with this show. Like I'm so exhausted. I don't know where they even go with next season, honestly. Um, but yeah, I also think it's crazy. I don't know if you've seen this. I've seen it a lot on Twitter and like Twitter is such a cesspool these days that like, I don't even know why I still open that app, but, um, everyone, all the Bravo fans defending Danny still is actually insane. Uh, I think also that the only reason that Kristen finally was like, yeah, I was disappointed in Danny is because she saw the fan backlash. Like Kristen just goes where the wind blows, where the audience goes.
10:02And I don't think she meant any of it when she said that she was disappointed in Danny. I think she is still obviously very much so team Danny and Nia. That said, Lala needs to shut the fuck up. what is Lala's storyline other than Dani? Which is fine. I agree with everything she said pretty much. I liked that she was calling out Dani, but you are not the host of this reunion. Why do you have to chime in every single time? No one asked you. Yeah. And you could tell that every man on that stage was getting super frustrated with her because they're like, you're not letting us talk. Yeah. Like every time we try to explain ourselves, not that their explanation is any good, But they're like, you don't let us speak.
10:47And yeah, Lala does think that she's the host of the reunion. And I think more than ever, Lala, it seems to me, has very high expenses. Like, doesn't she have like two homes? She has two kids to care for. She has a very lavish lifestyle still. Yeah, she understands that this is a job. Yes, yes. That's exactly what I'm getting at. That I think she understands that she needs to clock in. She needs to bring it because she knows everyone didn't want to see her. She's like, what really is my tie to this group of people outside of me just being a former cast member on Vanderpump Rules? Like, I'm trying to think.
11:14I guess she's close with Michelle. She's close with Janet. Yeah, they have their little clique, Brittany, Janet, Lala, and Michelle. But yeah, so like the Bravo fans that I saw online defending Danny, they were like, all of these cast members get drunk. They all party. And it's like the difference is that Danny turns into a different person. He turns into a monster. That is the issue. Like, I feel insane. Yeah. With Bravo fans sometimes. Like, I just, I feel like I am watching a different show. I think I've said this before. Like, I had a friend in my life, like, in college that would drink. And he would become, like, great, supportive friend.
11:53And when he would drink, it was so scary that I was like, who are you? And that's how I feel when I look at Danny. I'm like, you seem like a very decent person and a very involved father. I'm not discounting any of those things. but when you drink you really turn into a different person and that's what I don't like to see that's what I think that really displays I don't know enough about alcoholism but I will say if you're displaying an entirely like violently emotionally aggressive person I don't want to be around you when you're drinking that is not a safe environment for me to be in because I don't know when you're going to attack or be dangerous for all the people that you love it's not appropriate and for him to continue to like and Nia honestly to continue defending this behavior.
12:32It's like, did we watch the same show? Yeah, it's crazy. I am so just ready for this show to be over. I like I said, I have no idea where they go next season. I don't know if Danny and Nia are going to return. I warning Ryan Bailey said that Sheena apparently because I've seen some talk of, you know, Sheena and Brock throw them in the mix. We need, you know, a different dynamic. Apparently, Sheena has no interest, which I don't know if I believe that. I don't know if I believe that. I think I saw that clip of her talking about that. Now, if they asked me to be on the show, I would say no. Yeah, like, come on.
13:06But we shall see. Right now, I am very, very, very happy that we are done. We're done. Do you think? I genuinely think that Nia will never leave Dani, even though how horrifying it is to watch him on her screen. She will never leave that man. No, absolutely not. I mean, she and she said that growing up, you know, in such a tumultuous home, she was like, I always wanted that family unit. Now I have that. So she is not going to. No, absolutely not. Which I still just I mean, personality wise, obviously, but like even physically, I'm like, what is she seeing him? She's stunning. He's like truly one of the most beautiful humans I've ever seen.
13:52And then he's like this little creature on the couch. What did Lala call him? Peter Pan fuck or what did she say? I don't even remember. One of her rehearsed reads. Yeah. See, that's the thing. It's like I can hate both of them.

As a lifelong renter who's probably going to be renting for the rest of my life at this point, it's hard for me to justify splurging on custom furniture or like chic, expensive vintage home finds when I know this isn't my forever home.
15:41That's what Wayfair is for. Because even though renting makes me less enthusiastic about spending money on furniture and home decor, I still want my apartment to feel chic and elevated. Duh. I've turned to Wayfair for home upgrades for over a decade now, long before they were a sponsor. From an armoire in our second bedroom to our randomly extremely chic wicker laundry basket that I'm literally obsessed with, Wayfair makes quality pieces that stand up to real life without breaking the bank. Budget-friendly but chic finds make all the difference in your space, in my opinion, whether you're a renter like me or an actual homeowner, which don't rub it in.
16:16You can even see real customer feedback and photos before you buy, so you can shop with confidence. And with Wayfair Rewards, you can get 5 % back on every purchase, helping you get even more value from your Wayfair purchases and create a home you love without overspending. 18:12I was going to say Sydney, Sydney Sweeties. CERN. I didn't. I think it's pronounced Siren. Oh, okay. Wait, did you really just pronounce it CERN? That's the issue. That's the issue is that people act like, people think it's pronounced CERN, but it's pronounced Siren. But you would have no idea that it's pronounced Siren. Yeah. It's a very confusing brand name. So this is what I saw online from like an article. And this is her lingerie brand that she launched, I think, earlier this year, if you're not familiar. And again, this was the whole thing was that it's spelled S-Y-R-N and everyone's like CERN.
18:45And apparently it's Siren. And I didn't see this, that apparently her brand is tanking, but I'm so not surprised. Right. So Siren, CERN's branding field, exclusionary. CERN, a review on the Robin report stated, it does not invite women in. It asks them to emulate and fawn over the founder. And the inconsistency between the brand's intention and execution is a threat to its long-term viability. The brand ultimately remains centered on one figure, Sydney Sweeney. It's as if the underwear is not actually the product Sydney Sweeney is. According to a source, there have been meetings to discuss how to increase sales for the brand, which aims to cater for women of all body types, especially when it comes to bras and other undergarments.
19:24It's been a disaster, the source claims. They thought it would be a sellout based on Sydney's brand, but clearly her saleability is waning rapidly. And I think that this doesn't surprise me at all. I remember when Sydney Sweeney, I think she attended the wedding of Jeff Bezos in Venice. and they were like whispering. I think there was even blind items that she's like a third to Jeff and Lauren Sanchez's marriage, like amongst like other women. I don't know if that's true or false, but in any case, she was a huge like talk of the town at that wedding because she apparently met Scooter Braun at that wedding and she decided to partner with Jeff Bezos on this lingerie line.
19:59I think like Amazon is a backer or an investor or one of Jeff Bezos, like one of his companies. Yeah. And I feel like everyone was like, that makes so much sense. You know, Sidney Sweeney aligning herself with like the capitalist king of the United, the globe, whatever. But I feel like when it comes to Sidney Sweeney, yeah, I guess on paper you think of like, yeah, I guess a lingerie line. She has like a very bodacious body. She has big boobs. Like maybe that makes sense. But I think at the heart of it, Sidney Sweeney's brand, who she is, has 100 % appealed primarily to the male gaze. and I would imagine that a lot of her fans are primarily, maybe that's like a sweeping generalization, but I do feel like men love her and women, she's very controversial and polarizing to women.
20:44So I kind of get why when you look at a brand like her lingerie line, you're like, you're selling the sex symbol that is Sydney Sweeney, but I don't want in on that. Like, and can you imagine like Henry buying you lingerie from Sydney Sweeney's lingerie line? Like, what would you say? Everyone was like, I would be so weirded out if my husband bought me Sydney Sweeney's lingerie brand. It's, yeah, it's so bizarre. The branding has always been bizarre because like this article says, and where was the article? InTouch or something? It was, it's one of the tabloids. Yeah. I think InTouch or Us Weekly.
21:19InTouch. InTouch, okay. So this InTouch article, yeah, just like this article says, the branding is so confusing because she is like the sex symbol who has, you know like you said pander to the male gaze but you're trying to sell this product that's supposed to be super super super inclusive i didn't even realize that one of their brand tenets was size inclusivity which is a great brand tenant to have but i don't get that like size h by the way i think it is great which is great yeah which is great but i don't get that vibe from the branding because all the branding i see is just sydney sweeney and being sexy and having like this tiny tiny waist but huge boobs like that's not relatable to the average woman And I feel like her, like the American Eagle ad and all of the controversies that she has had, you know, over the past year, especially, I feel like she's alienated.
22:12It was an interesting time for her to launch a brand. I feel like because it seemed like she was almost, she was almost kind of like leaning into the fact that she was a controversial figure. Oh, yeah. But clearly that doesn't equal sales, you know? Like, I am so not surprised that this brand is foundering because the branding makes no sense. And also the fact that she herself, as the face of the room, we talked about this before, how if you're a celebrity and you're the face of a brand, the brand will perform based on how your reputation is to the public, obviously. And her reputation has not been stellar the past year.
22:51So it was a very confusing thing. And I'm looking at the price points of the lingerie and there's a corset, CERN, SIREN, date night, satin corset. I'm trying that you keep saying CERN. I don't know. Because that's the problem. Hold on. How do I pronounce it? That's literally the problem. It's supposed to be pronounced SIREN. But that is the problem. That's exactly like the issue is that it's so confusing. Like why is it called CERN? Right. So it retails for$269. I mean, these aren't like. That's absurd. Yeah. It's not these like approachable, reasonable price points either. It's one thing if it's like it's size inclusive and it's also more affordable.
23:29But it's like these are really high priced items. For example, there's like a triangle bralette. It looks like a Skims bralette. It retails for$39. You could literally get this off Amazon for like$9. It's crazy. One pair of underwear I'm looking at in their comfy section is$19, which I feel like is, I mean, I haven't bought underwear. Anyone else not bought new underwear in probably 15 years? I haven't bought new underwear in 15 years. Is that gross? That's so real. Is that relatable? Anyone else? Remember Victoria's Secret 5 for 25? Like, that is the last time I bought underwear when I was, like, a teenager at the mall.
24:06But it's lasted me. I'm sorry. They don't make deals like that anymore. They don't. Exactly. So I'm like, oh, my God. Is this one under? Like, I don't know. Is this one a pair of underwear costs now? 20 bucks? No, I'm sick of fucking dying. So be... Anyone else? Anyone else? I'm sorry. Like, I don't know. Genuinely, Sylvia, it's like, how much pair of underwear do I need? Like, I do the laundry at least weekly. Why would I need 15 pairs of undies? Oh, well, I have, like, a lot of underwear, which is why I don't buy new underwear. I just have, like, a lot. Yeah, that's what I mean. They're all old chairs.
24:38Yeah. So, I don't know. You guys tell me, is that normal pricing? And I'm curious, have you guys bought Cybran or CERN? None of this is surprising, though, that the brand is tanking. Like, I am so not surprised at all. Also, she's living with Scooter Braun. Her and Scooter Braun seem to be doing just dandy. And that also is another strange move. And I'm not saying that, you know, that it's just a PR relationship. I think, in fact, maybe it's the opposite. Maybe it's true love. Because it's really bad PR for her to be with Scooter Braun, someone that probably every Swifty on the planet hates. And you're going to piss off every Swifty.

25:18while you launch a brand geared towards women. I don't know. That's just another layer to this, I feel like, is that she's dating someone who the vast majority of women, I feel like, do not like. No, that's very fair to say. And I think that her and Scooter Braun 100 % agree with you. This is not a PR relationship. They are 100 % the real deal. I feel, I read reports that she's moved in with him already. Yeah, they live together. They moved in together apparently after a month in his like$70 million house. Wait, where did you read that to? Because I read that as well. It was in this InTouch article that I was reading this morning.
25:52Oh, okay. It was in the same article where it talks about the brand. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Got it. No, I believe that. All of her Instagram show, they're always, like, camping or, like, in the mountains, like, singing country songs on stage. Have you noticed that she loves to sing country songs on stage? Yeah. And, like, I just feel like, I don't know, who am I to tell a celebrity how to, you know, act and brand themselves? But when you look at like other actresses and not to say that they're her peers, but you could argue that like Zendaya or like, you know, her Euphoria co-stars. They're not like posting themselves being like, you know, embarrassing on stage with her boyfriend, like singing on their boyfriend's shoulder.
26:34It's just like, I don't know. Yes. Her whole public persona has been so confusing to me because I feel like she had so much potential at one point. And now just all of her choices are very confusing to me, including this brand. Yeah, and you actually did, we did a really good Patreon episode probably like six months ago where Sophie walked us through, like, what about Sydney Sweeney's brand? Like, why is it tanking? Like, why has her stock plummeted? So many different choices. Like, it is just an unbelievable amount of missteps. And again, like, who am I to judge? I'm just an outsider. Look again, you know, I'm not a PR professional, but if I were in charge of her brand, I would have done things completely differently.
27:15No, I agree. And it's not one thing in isolation that has made her brand tank, her image. It's like every single decision that she has made thus far in the last two years is incredibly confounding. Yeah, starting with her family birthday party. It was one of her parents. Her dad was wearing a Blue Lives Matter shirt. So starting with that, then it was all downhill from there. No, that's when it really started spinning out of control. And then I feel like she started leaning in to being this controversial figure. But again, like I said, that's not, you know, that's not translating to sales. Who is this brand for?
27:54You know, we don't even know how to pronounce it. CERN? Right. Remember when it was, I didn't even realize the Blue Lives Matter hat. But do you remember it was like make, instead of Make America Great Again with the red hats, it was like Make 60 Great Again. And they were all donning these like Trump adjacent. I don't remember that, but that sounds right. They were wearing like red hats, Make 60 Great Again. And then her dad was wearing the Blue Lives Matter shirt. or her grandpa or something. Yeah, no, that got the... It was... Like it was yesterday. It was all downhill from there. Okay, I want to quickly talk about Meghan and Harry, the latest in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
28:29So news broke this past weekend that they are planning to move back to the UK. And it was reported... It was kind of, like, unclear at first. Like, why are they moving back? And then it was reported that Meghan had been cast on The Gentleman, a show by Guy Ritchie on Netflix, which by the way, I love this show. It is with Theo James. I watched season one. Season two comes out. Me and Henry both loved it. We watched it together. Season two, and it's very rare that Henry and I agree on a show. Season two is coming out, I think in like a week. So we're very excited about that. But the rumor was that she got cast in season three of that show.
29:09Then it was reported that because of so much uproar surrounding her casting in the UK, her offer was rescinded to join the show. They said it was untenable to move forward with her and the cast, which like, why? Like, why can't the UK just be normal about Meghan Markle? Yeah. Like, like, just let, let her act. Who cares? Who cares? I also think when it comes to like Guy Ritchie and that show, like, just fucking ignore the backlash. People are going to watch it anyway. Like, it's just, I think it's stupid that they kind of cave to the public backlash. And also it's a selling point to have her on the show.
29:47Not because you love her or hate her. She's a controversial figure. People are talking about it. People are talking about it. But it is a good show, by the way, you guys. Also Effie from Skins is the female love interest in that show. So if you haven't watched it, it's a good show. But okay. I mean, maybe don't watch it now because I think it's crazy that they cast her and then uncast her based on this public backlash, you know. But I think two things can be true, that the hate Meghan faces in the UK is largely because of racism and misogyny. And that I think Meghan and Harry are kind of their own worst enemies with these moves that they make.
30:26Like, why are they moving back to the UK suddenly after, you know, the whole thing about leaving the UK because it was dangerous for them? And if it is because of, like, if it was for the show, sure. They're still moving there, apparently. They have confirmed that regardless of Meghan being on the show, they are still moving there. Is it because of King Charles's declining health? Maybe. But if it is, I wish they would just say that. Like, I feel like people would understand. And I think that them not elaborating on why they're moving back to the UK almost lets people fill in the blanks. Yeah.
31:02And people are like, oh, they want to be in the royal family again. And then this doesn't help that there was a report in page six that Prince Harry and Meghan are reportedly hoping to have the best of both worlds as private royals plus, quote unquote, when they move back to the UK. Huh. A source told the Sunday Times in an article published Sunday that the best scenario for the couple is to be private royals plus, meaning that they can remain a private couple, but also make public appearances with other working royals. However, the source said it's an uphill battle given the strained relations between Harry and his older brother, Prince William, as well as with William's wife, Kate Middleton.
31:38So, again, it's like that also is like, OK, so you want to be royals again after like all of your failed business ventures you left and then all of your business ventures failed. And then, you know, it was all there were all these exposés about how your podcast network was failing and all of these things. And now all of a sudden you want to move back and be royals again. But if it is because of, like I said, King Charles' declining health, then just say that, you know? Yeah, right. You know what it kind of reminds me of is when, like, Stassi moved to New York City after Vanderpump Rules cast, like, actor.
32:10And then came crawling back. Yeah, yeah. James Kennedy was like, oh, Stassi, shut up. Like, you came crawling back. And I'm like, that's kind of what Kate, I mean, not Kate. Well, that's how it looks is that they tried to do their own thing in California and then it failed. And so now they're, quote, unquote, crawling back. That's how it looks. But, like, I wish they would just explain themselves, you know? Not that they need to, but I feel like PR-wise, just say that Harry—like, everyone would understand if they're like, King Charles is not doing well. He is terminally ill. We need to—we want to go spend time with him, and we want him to spend time with his grandchildren.
32:46Like, everyone would understand, but now instead it just looks like they're like, you know, they have their tails between their legs and they're going back to the U.K. because the California ventures all failed. um so I don't know I just I'm rooting for them so hard like I have always been a huge huge huge Meghan Markle and Prince Harry defender and like it's so hard to defend them sometimes with their with their you know just bad moves yeah this is like a really dumb question and I feel like I should know this because I know a bit about the royal family just because I read Spare and I've watched The Crown.
33:23That's actually the extent of it. But what I was going to say, how does Harry, they live a very, very luxurious life, right? They have a home in Montecito. They have a home in Portugal. And now they're moving back to the UK. So they have three homes now. I get that he's a prince, but like, where's the funds coming from? That's a great question. Sorry, this is a stupid question. I think when I've asked this question. No, like I actually don't know. Like they were trying to fund their own lifestyles. Right. because there's a security issue. Yeah, by starting all these business ventures that do not seem to be very profitable.
33:58So where is this money coming from? Is it coming from? I don't know the answer. So let's - No, yeah, because I remember asking this question and someone told me like Diana Spencer's family was like very royal, not literally, but had a lot of money. And so maybe he has some inheritance, but like at this point, hasn't the inheritance like dried up? I don't know because they do not receive funding from the British royal family because that is British taxpayer money. So I don't know. Like, I'm confused by their finances. So let us know, you guys. It's not like she's Jen Aniston. She was on, like, she didn't have a prolific career.
34:32I think that it's, I think it's fair to say that she probably does make royalties from suits. Suits became also very popular when it went on Netflix during the pandemic. So I don't know. I really, it's a mystery to me. They are not receiving money from the royal family from British taxpayers. And they also do not seem to have, you know, a thriving business at this point, like Archwell Productions, all of that. So I don't know. What do you guys think? Oh, Ken Forgla for a Netflix show. I forgot about that. As ever. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And like, as ever, you know, was in the top 10 on Netflix. Decently popular.
35:07I have heard that her line of jams and the actual products were not selling. and this is all of course like just things that I've read online and but I think it's fair to say there were many many many reputable reputable I said reputable this weekend and Henry was like did you just say reputable reputable honestly when people mispronounce stuff I don't even like to correct it it's like you know what I meant you know I'm not gonna embarrass you gonna yell at me and you know what I'll say it again when I mispronounce things it's because I'm a big reader so I read words and then I don't practice speaking them out loud no I think it's like you probably read it the way that it's like spelled because actually reputable grammatically it should be reputable it's reputable but there have been many reputable reports that um you know the the R12 productions the Spotify deal the Netflix deal were not doing well so uh just you know just I feel like that is kind of like a fact at this point an objective fact that their businesses aren't doing well so how are they a financing their lives and b does this have anything to do with them moving back to the UK yeah but I imagine like freaking Montecito house like that's a huge I just yeah their finances make zero sense to me and I would love any baby that is well-versed in the royal family to let me know because I just, they have a very luxurious life and I'm confused how.
36:40And it's like, I just, I totally, totally, totally understand why Meghan wanted to leave the UK and wanted to leave the royal family after facing the amount of racism that she faced, not only by allegedly the family, but also the British press. Yeah. Which again, makes this move back to the UK so confusing and it could be for good reason. I just I would love to know why. And I feel like that would, I think, help them PR wise to just be be honest about why they're moving back. And I don't know. I just I feel like, you know, we were all and I still am on their side. Like I am always rooting for them.
37:21It just like I said, it's hard to root for them sometimes because every move they've made pretty much since originally leaving the UK has been confusing to me. Yeah. Yeah. And it's almost like, it's kind of with the Sydney Sweeney thing too, now that we're talking kind of about these people. Every, like they have the star power to be great and be amazing, but every step that they take is so lackluster and kind of like stupid. But it's like, but you have all the tools to be amazing, but you shoot yourself in the foot every time. Yeah. Yeah. I remember that expose. I think it was in Vanity Fair, probably like last year.
38:00about how Prince Harry was like throwing around ideas for podcasts. You remember this? And he was like, what if I, and this was like a Spotify insider, like who the reporter interviewed. He was like, what if I interviewed sociopaths around the world, like Vladimir Putin? Like he wanted to like interview like Kim Jong-un and like Vladimir Putin for like a podcast. And they were like, what are you talking about? I feel like he's so stunted. Like, cause he was, he just been, you know. I didn't read Spare, but from what I've heard, Spare was kind of, I feel like Spare, they shouldn't have happened.
38:36Like, he made himself look kind of bad. Yeah. Yeah, it made him look really bad. And I think he's never, like, if you think about it, it's, I mean, it's really not fair. It's not, I'm not trying to knock on him because he can't help his upbringing, but, like, he just has such a different upbringing. He's never really had to figure out life as a real adult. So I just feel like he's very stunted and I don't, I can't believe I used to think he was so hot. back in the day. Oh, I still think he is. I still think he is. No, no, me too. Did you ever read, did we talk about this? So like along with Perez Hilton, there was a blog called D-Listed.
39:08Did we talk about this? I was obsessed with this D-Listed blog and it was written by this guy, Michael K. I think his name was. Did you ever read it? No. Oh, well, he had nicknames for like all of the celebrities. And me and my sister were obsessed with this blog and he called Prince Harry Prince Hot Ginge because he was so hot. I mean, he still is good looking, but like he was so fucking hot back in the day. No, I know. I know. He really was. And I mean, Prince William, next level, but it like it was a quick peek and then it fell. Oh, yeah. Prince Prince William peaked when he was like at university and he had like the hair.
39:42And then as soon as he started going bald, we were like, ah, no, I'm scared. Raise your hand if you were scared. No, like he was so attractive, William, until he wasn't. Yeah, until he wasn't. And then it was like a quick downhill. I know. And then I remember when Prince Harry in his book was like making fun of William going bald. And it's like, Prince Harry, your hair isn't all that thick and luscious either. No, I remember watching him on With Love, Meghan's show, and he made like a quick cameo. Like he didn't even speak. I think he was just like, it was a b-roll of him, like hugging Meghan.
40:16I mean, this is a great party. But like, he didn't look all that great. Oh, that was the show With Love, comma Megan and then the brand was called as ever yes correct yes okay um okay quickly want to move on really fast to when we talk about Chase Stokes because you guys know that Chase Stokes has like Chase Stokes has stop so he has like traditionally been just someone that we like hate for like really no reason no reason like no reason he just bothers us it's like the lip filler it's like just there is no good reason you guys and like the fact that like we've always kind of made fun of him and then people are like oh you guys should do like a chase stokes episode it's like there's nothing there like about what about what like there's nothing interesting or problematic really that he's done other than like i think he had some like weird old tweets but like other than that like he is just a pretty like normal and his like obviously his off on relationship with um kelsey ballerini pissed me off it pissed me off so bad pisses off but otherwise like there's not much there.
41:16He's like harmless, but it's like, it's become a thing. He's pretty harmless. But I was watching the new season of Outer Banks, which you guys like, because the new season of Outer Banks came out at the same time as Love is Blind UK. Season's crazy. Am I right? Love is Blind UK. I've been alternating episodes of each. It's so hard to like prioritize. But so I'm only like four episodes into Outer Banks new season. Me too. Me too. And I'm like, why? And I text Christy. I'm like, wait, I feel bad for Chase Stokes. Yes! I need to find the text. Yeah, I was like, I feel really bad for Chase Stokes.
41:50Like, he is pretty good as John B. And it's like, he's never, like, I don't think that he has any jobs lined up after this. Like, it's kind of sad. And then Christy and I were texting, and she was sending me these interviews where it's, like, him and then some of his co-stars. And his co-stars are all laughing together. And then he's kind of on the side left out. And now I feel so bad for him. Sophie texts us, okay, on Saturday, 7.30 p.m. Also, you're going to kill me. I'm watching right now feeling so badly for Chase Stokes knowing he'll never work again. And I go— He has nothing lined up after this.
42:26And I was like, dude, have you seen that he's, like, reporting he's had, like, a bunch of liver and kidney problems? And Sophie goes, oh, my God, stop. And I was like, and how in all the press, Jonathan and Drew, who plays Pope in Drew Sturkey, I mean, Rafe, are fucking dabbing. And Chase is, like, the odd one out. know like why do I feel badly for him and like it's genuinely so sad like all the press that they're doing Jonathan and Jew are like like laughing dying in each other's arms and Chase is just sitting there like the odd one out oh my god I feel so bad yeah and then when you said that he's having kidney and liver problems apparently like I feel so bad and I'm looking at his Wikipedia right now and he has nothing lined up I know like I feel so bad you guys so I feel like this is my official um mia culpa to chase stokes i'm sorry that we've made fun of you this much like you really haven't done anything wrong and um you know what i am rooting for you i'm gonna miss john b i think you've done a good job as john b and um i'm sorry no i like stop i like genuinely it that's why my weekend was so bad because i was thinking about how mean i've been and like at the end of the day he's harmless like he's done nothing yeah and i've made it my life's mission to have him piss me off for the last like six years yep and it's totally rent-free in our heads for no reason and it's not like he's like when we talk about like enemies of the pot i feel like it's like jay stokes nick vile dave portnoy like elon musk it's like those are all extremely problematic people right chase stokes is not problematic jake shane even jake shane i would say is even problematic chase stokes like he hasn't done anything so i'm sorry chase he's like trying to work and like make an honest living and like he's trying to make an honest living and like jonathan davis who plays pope he's gonna be in the new snoop dogg biopic drew starkey is working like every week chase stokes and like maddie helen kline's like an a-list star at this point I mean, that's debatable, but you guys know what I mean.
44:28Madeline Klein's, like, booking jobs. Chase Stokes. Chase Stokes. He was, like, in one really weird Netflix movie that I didn't watch. Oh, The Uglies or something? Yeah, when he had, like, that weird makeup. Like, he was, like, I don't know. Yeah, it was called, I think it was called The Uglies. Yeah, Uglies. Or, like, The Uglies. Yeah, The Pretties or something stupid like that. But genuinely, when Sophie was, like, do you think Chase, like, I feel badly knowing Chase Stokes will never work. and I'm like no genuinely like what else has he booked no like guys I feel really bad so I'm sorry and if Chase if you're listening we're sorry he just has zero swag compared to Drew and I know like wait even when I was watching it with Henry you know the scene there's one scene where it's like John B and Rafe so like Drew Starkey and and Chase Stokes are like doing they're like kind of like doing the buddy comedy.
45:23Well, yeah, the robbery and like that, not to spoil anything. And Henry was like, oh, my God, this guy wishes he was Drew Starkey. And I'm like, honestly, he probably does. Like, it's so sad. No. And you think about it because Drew Starkey is like sweeping the nation. We've been knowing about Drew Starkey. OK, she's been boyfriend of the pod. I am so happy. Yeah, you guys, I am so happy. And we talked about this in our Substack last Friday, our newsletter, about how he is so booked and busy. He obviously is in that shitty show Lucky on Apple TV. Which, by the way, I stopped watching after he, spoiler alert, died on the show.
46:02Because I was like, I'm not going to watch this piece of shit show anymore. It's not even good. I heard he wasn't even in it. Barely in it. He was barely in it. And then as soon as he died, I was like, okay, I'm done. And then he is in an upcoming horror movie called Onslaught, which looks really scary. He has like bleach blonde hair and bleach eyebrows. And then he is in a movie called Deep Cuts with Kaylee Spaney, who was in Priscilla and also the new season of Beef and also Knives Out. And then he is in a movie called Kingsnake, co-starring Margaret Qualley. So he is like literally so booked and busy.
46:44He is becoming like a real movie star, which I am so, so, so excited about. So, yeah, we are thrilled for Drew. And he is, even watching Outer Banks, you were like, he is so, even though he could have been like the Jacob Elordi on Euphoria, where he kind of like phoned it in, you know, he is so committed to the part of Rafe Cameron, and he really just steals every scene he's in. He's so fucking good. He honestly is as good looking as he is. He is equally as talented. Like we love him for his looks, but he genuinely steals the show. I'm sorry, Kiara. He's acting is so bad. It's so distracting. It's really bad.
47:23I don't know if her acting is bad or just the character pisses me off because the character pisses like she makes a lot of bad decisions where I'm just like, oh, my God. It's just like there are so many. I mean, they all make bad decisions where I'm just like, you guys are all pissing me off. Like, it's so frustrating to watch the show sometimes because I'm like, you guys are all idiots. They're idiots, but I don't know. To me, she it's it's kind of like what I equate Shay Mitchell on Pretty Little Liars. Like, it's just so it to me, I genuinely overacting a little bit. Yeah, I can't take her seriously.
47:54I just I find it actually to be very distracting to the plot because I can't take her seriously in any scene that she does by herself. And she's such a key figure in this season because she's avenging the death of JJ from last season. and she has a lot of solo scenes and I just can't take her seriously. And I genuinely do think, I think her and Chase Stokes are probably the weakest actors. The weakest, yeah. Jonathan Davis is really good. I thought Rudy Pankow was really good. But yeah, Key and John B are not doing it for me. Yeah, they're probably the weak links. But I think overall, they're all, I mean, I think that Madison Bailey is pretty good.
48:28I just think that her character pisses me off. But I don't think she's a bad actress. Yeah, she just like, she's always like, like yelling. Yeah, she's always yelling at inappropriate moments. It's just like annoying. Whipping out a gun in like a huge like tourist spot in Croatia. Yeah, it's like, what are you doing? What are you doing? Like she just always makes like the worst decisions. It's so annoying. So I think she's a good actress. I just don't like her character. I've been a diehard TaskRabbit stan long before they were a sponsor. Missouri, it's the getaway that gets all of you.
52:15Plan your family fun at visitmo.com. Okay, so let's talk about dark energy objects. What's yours? Okay, I just think it's, again, I can't get over this Hayden Panettiere thing, but I think in the spirit of just, like, people speaking so highly of her and saying how talented she was, it's like, I wish these things were said to her while she was still with us. I think it just makes me really sad that we always give people flowers post-mortem, and I just wish that she heard all these things when she were still alive. Maybe that would have changed her path. I just feel like we as a society were so difficult on her and so difficult with young women who were stars in the 90s and the early 2000s that if only she could see what people are saying about her now and seeing her as like the talented, bright light that she really was.
53:02And I watched actually Raising Helen a couple of days ago and I talked about how that's like my favorite Hayden Panettiere movie. And she's so fantastic in that movie. Her and Kate Hudson had such good chemistry. Kate Hudson played her aunt in the movie. and she was just so, I just love her. And it makes me really sad. And I think we're talking a lot about young female child stars like Davei Chase of The Ring and Lilo and Stitch and Michelle Trachtenberg and now Hayden Panettiere. It's like, we speak so highly of them now, but we didn't ever give the opportunity to them to like speak about them in real life to their face.
53:39I don't know. I'm just sad about it. Yeah, no, I completely, completely agree. And did you see that TikTok? And that was like, it was her getting her hair done. And when the salon originally posted it when she was still alive, all the comments were like, wow, is she okay? What is wrong with her? Like so many mean, mean, mean comments. And then I guess the salon posted it again after her death. And all of the comments were like, oh, my God, she's so beautiful. She's so sweet. And it's like, you couldn't say this while she was alive. The way that you were speaking about this person while she was alive was so awful.
54:16And now that she's dead, you completely change your tune. It's just horrible. It's not funny. That one's not a funny deal, but just it's been weighing on me as I've just been watching a lot of stuff on Hayden the last couple of days. Totally. So speaking of child stars, I have seen a resurfaced clip of Ashton Kutcher talking on Punk'd. He's 25 at the time. And he says he's talking about 15 year old Hillary Duff in the year 2003 and says she's one of the girls that we're all waiting for to turn 18. along with the Olsen twins. I know exactly which clip you're talking about. Yep. So this has been going viral.
54:51So that's my, one of my DEOs. We have a whole Ashton Kutcher episode we did at the beginning. Yeah, that was one of our first ever episodes was an Ashton Kutcher deep dive. So if you haven't listened to that, it's way back in the archives and he is so problematic in so many ways. And I just think that this is like the perfect example of how child actresses have been set up for failure. like i mean they have been completely completely just failed by the industry over and over and over again i hate ashton kutcher i genuinely hate him he is one of the most insidious men in hollywood genuinely very very very very very nefarious and i'm really happy that when he made his tv comeback on that fucking ryan murphy show whatever it was called i didn't watch it and i watch all ryan murphy shows for the most part like inject the beauty i think it was it was the beauty or something.
55:43Yeah. I also really quickly want to talk about Brooks Marks on Next Gen on my C. As you guys know, I love the show. It's so freaking good. I've been trying to get Christy to watch it. Brooks Marks is such a flop and he's so boring. But then every time he opens his mouth, he's either being an asshole, like rude to shy, or he's being ignorant. And he thinks it's really cute that he doesn't know what a government shutdown is or doesn't know what Rocky Horror Picture show is like he is either just being mean he's either mean ignorant or boring those are like his three personality traits and I know that he'll never get fired because he's Meredith Marks's son but he needs to go like I'm so fucking sick of him otherwise the next gen NYC cast is like a 10 out of 10 uh I really am curious what you guys think is Brooks because for a while I was kind of a Brooks defender I was like yeah he's boring but like let him you know let him open up a little bit.
56:41I think he could be fun. No, he's such a fucking flop. Curious what you guys think. And then my Elio, I talked about fall weather up top. Love is blind UK. Once again, so good, you guys. Don't sleep on love is blind UK. You love, you love, love is blind UK. I do. I do love love is blind UK. If you're unfamiliar with this inside joke. So last year, Sophie had come to LA because we were doing our cover art for when we had signed with our podcast network. And we were like, we had a bunch of shit we needed to do. So I was like, hey, Sophie, like, we're recording in the morning. Like, make sure you read this outline.
57:20She's like, yeah, no, that's not going to be an issue. Like, not a problem. Not a problem. That's not going to be a problem whatsoever. Yeah. She's like, no, I got a five hour flight from New York to LA. Yeah, no, I'll knock it out real easy. So the second this bitch walks into my house, she goes, oh my God, have you watched Love is Blind UK? It was crazy. Am I right? Christy was like, Sophie, you were supposed to do the outline. We're doing it tomorrow in the morning. Oh, no, no. It's not going to be a problem. I'll read it tonight. I was like, oh, my. I spent the whole flight watching Love is Blind UK.
57:49Love is Blind is crazy. Instead of doing my actual work. But you know what? That's what happens. Yeah, that's what happens.
57:59Mine, well, I already talked about it, booking a last-minute trip. But I'm trying to think what else. Well, I've been really into meditation recently. I've talked a lot about this on our subsack. But it's really been, it's interesting to see it to be more mindful of your days. I will say like not having things on while you're doing things, like not having a podcast on, not listening to music. It was scary at first. But I will say that I'm getting better at being more mindful throughout my day through like a 20-minute daily meditation and not having as many distractions. which is like crazy for me to say, but it's something I've really been working through the last couple of weeks.
58:39So love that. That's mine. Great. Great. I just realized I still have CERN.com open in my tab. I'm going to close that. I know me too. But I see, I look in and you have like that fucking bodice in your cart. The$260 corset from CERN. Out of line, low rise, satin thong for just$19. Oh my God. Like that's ridiculous. Is that normal, you guys? As someone who hasn't bought new underwear in 15 years. Anyway, thank you guys so much for being here. We love you so much. Also, if you do buy underwear, where are you buying your underwear? I'm curious. Anyway. Also wait, tomorrow, tomorrow on the Patreon, we're talking all about Alex Cooper's unwell.
59:27Yes. And me and Sophie, it's basically like a mock trial debate. Yeah. of me talking about how Alex Cooper is actually a pretty savvy businesswoman and how I kind of like her. And Sophie's like, what are you fucking talking about? Shut the fuck up. Yeah. Me being like, no, I'm not. I'm not. I'm not buying into this propaganda. And don't worry, you guys. Christy isn't she's not an Alex Cooper fan. Now, she was just trying to explain why she thinks Alex Cooper is actually kind of smart, which I disagree with. But yeah, so that is on Patreon. It's it's the steep dive into Unwell and also like a mock trial debate.
1:00:00And then Thursday, we are talking about an OG influencer who... International. Yeah, international. That's all we'll say. Some of you have already guessed correctly. But yeah, we will see you guys then. Love you so much. Bye. Bye.
1:00:35As a lifelong renter who's probably going to be renting for the rest of my life at this point, it's hard for me to justify splurging on custom furniture or like chic, expensive vintage home finds when I know this isn't my forever home. That's what Wayfair is for. Because even though renting makes me less enthusiastic about spending money on furniture and home decor, I still want my apartment to feel chic and elevated, duh.
1:01:14Budget-friendly but chic finds make all the difference in your space, in my opinion, whether you're a renter like me or an actual homeowner, which don't rub it in. You can even see real customer feedback and photos before you buy, so you can shop with confidence. And with Wayfair Rewards, you can get 5 % back on every purchase, helping you get even more value from your Wayfair purchases and create a home you love without overspending. Join Wayfair Rewards today to get 5 % back on every purchase and start saving on your next home upgrade. Head to wayfair.com to shop all things home. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R.com.

1:01:55Nothing makes you appreciate good bedding more than a hot August night. Having something that's lightweight, breathable, cool, and easy to sleep in no matter how hot it gets is so freaking important. That's why I love Quince. It's my go-to for bedding for so long now with high-quality materials like 100 % European linen and organic cotton. You can feel the difference, you guys. It feels like you're in a hotel bed, okay? Quince has everything you need to give your bed the biggest upgrade, from breathable sheets to linen shams and duvet covers in soft seasonal colors, stripes, timeless neutrals, you name it.
1:02:29My absolute favorite is their 100 % organic cotton percale sheets and duvet cover. The material is so crisp and comfy. And when nights start to get cooler this fall, their lightweight quilts and coverlets add the perfect finishing layer, adding warmth, texture, coziness to your bed as we go into fall and winter. I cannot remember the last time I moved without enlisting a tasker, whether it was for assembling furniture, mounting a TV, hanging artwork. The list goes on. And it's not just during a move when your to-do list can feel like it's 10 pages long. Sometimes I really just need an extra hand for those little things I feel like I never end up getting around to myself. Like finally hanging the wedding photos I promised myself and Henry that I do for months now.
1:03:45Wherever you are, TaskRabbit is there to help. TaskRabbit connects you with skilled taskers in your area for moving, furniture, assembly, home repairs, yard work, mounting, and more. You can search for a tasker based on cost, skill set, availability, and past client reviews so you know exactly who's showing up and can have confidence that they know what they're doing. It's okay to ask for help with your to-do list, you guys. In fact, it's the most efficient way to get things done, in my humble opinion. When life happens, your to-do list grows.
