I'm Christy. And wow, I wow.

3:14This episode I'm incredibly excited about because well, this man sucked. But this man really sucked. He just gives me the willies. But before we dive in, Sophie, it is Thursday, February 12th and it's bright and early. How has your week been? My week has been good. I mean, it's gone by really slow. I just feel like it's just, you know, a lot of annoying work shit. Just life being lifey. It's just one of those weeks, you know? What about you? I do feel the same that I feel like this week has been one of the longest weeks ever. And I don't know why that is. Do you think it's because in February we don't have any holidays?

3:58So it just feels like we're on this endless cycle. Well, we have a three day weekend. We have a three day weekend this weekend. I don't think I have it off. What is it? Is it like President's Day? Is that what I'm thinking of? Oh, maybe you're right. Yeah. It's probably maybe just because my job doesn't have it off. Oh my God. I'm really jealous. It's President's Day. It's President's Day. I was like, what is the holiday? President's Day. So we have a three day weekend, which is great. I do. Sorry. Isn't that like a national? It's a federal holiday. Like everyone should have it off. Don't you want to honor our presidents?

4:31Is that what presidents say? I sound so dumb. Is presidents say literally about honoring our presidents? I was going to say, Sophie. Who's your favorite president? JFK because he was hot. JFK was hot. We should do a whole JFK episode or just Kennedy episode. I was talking about this with my, I think it was my sister and my brother-in-law recently. We were like, there were so many presidents. Very few were actually attractive, but there were like a lot of really ugly ones. So maybe we should do like an episode, a Patreon episode where we rate the presidents by their physical appearance. Obama's up there too.

5:04Obama's definitely up there. He's so handsome. Though I feel like after his eight-year term, he was tired. He was tired. He had been through it. But wait, I'm going to text my brother-in-law and be like, who was that president you said was really ugly? Because now I can't remember. Also, Sophie, how will you be honoring not even just the current president? I'm just saying, how will you be honoring your presidents on Monday? I am going to be saluting. I'm just going to be standing in front of an American flag all day and saluting it. Sophie actually booked a flight to Washington, D.C., solo trip.

5:39Yep, solo trip. She's going to be standing in front of the Washington Monument. to pay my respects. Sophie's going to be out there with an American flag, just like paying homage to all of the past presidents. I'm really jealous. I'm literally texting my brother in law. I'm recording right now, so hurry. Yeah, I'm going to need to know this ASAP. How about you? Who's your favorite president, either for looks, scandals? Or policy. Let us know. Or what actually matters. Let us know. And happy President's Day. Oh, or three days ago. Happy President's Day. Hope you guys celebrated accordingly. Delayed President's Day.

6:21What is President's Day about? Oh, wait, you guys. It's just celebrating. Okay, I'm sorry. It's Washington's birthday, George Washington. Oh, so it's synonymous. No, but it's often celebrated to honor all those who served as president. Okay. Okay, so we were right the first time. Can I also say? that you and I share a love of the same movie of Drop Dead Gorgeous with Kirsten Dunst, Kirsten Alley, James Richards. And when I just talked about you going to DC to honor presidents in Georgia, Washington, I thought of what's her name? She's like an iconic Amy Adams, I think. Oh, when she when she wears the thing.

6:59And my I'm representing the Washington Monument. Yeah. You guys, that is such a fucking classic. If you haven't seen Drop Dead Gorgeous for me, I'm due for a rewatch. It's been way too long. I'm due for a rewatch. No, like, how come we're the only, I feel like it's not a well-known movie either. It's like a cult. I feel like it's more of like a cult classic. Like, if you know, you know. Like a Jennifer's Body, kind of. Or like Best in Show, Catherine O 'Hara. I feel like that's been, have you seen Best in Show? Of course I have. I was going to say, if you haven't seen Best in Show, it's one of those where it's like, it was such a specific moment.

7:33It wasn't like a, you know, blockbuster. it was just kind of like a cult classic yeah my my brother-in-law responded he he says millard fillmore was grotesque do you know who millard fillmore is googling and now i'm i'm pointing to the video i'm pointing to the um camera here wait let me show i'm right here did he include that photo in his text yeah he did and then he goes he goes marty van buren and James Buchanan gotta be up there too. Shout out Danny. He just like he rails him off. Yeah I knew he would be ready. That's so then like the picture what's up with the hair? Millard Fillmore. Like what the fuck is a Millard Fillmore honestly?

8:18And like that name is suiting too for like that face you know. Exactly. Christy shall we get into today's episode? Shall we begin? Yes yes let's Let's begin with this heinous, heinous, cowardly man. Yes. And just a trigger warning up top that there are very serious grooming and sexual assault allegations against Ansel that we will get into. So listener discretion is advised. He is not a good guy, not a good guy at all. But at one point, he was the ultimate teen heartthrob rising star. he was poised to be the next big thing. Were you an Ansel Elgort fan at all in his heyday in the mid-aughts, I guess?

9:07In the 2010s? He, you know, Fault in Our Stars, Divergent. I actually wrote down that I think that you are a Divergent series, girl. I've never seen the Divergent series. Okay, that's very surprising. Yeah, I did at one point love Shailene Woodley. I mean, I still do. I like her body of work with the exception of Secret Life of the American Teenager. Oh my God. That's actually my favorite one. Really? I remember I watched a couple episodes. We could do a whole other episode on that series in general. So bad. But no, I wasn't a fan of Ansel Elgort. And I think with him, I knew he was a bit of a teen heartthrob.

9:42In the 2010s, everyone loved him. He really got a start. I feel like he really skyrocketed into fame. It came on my radar, at least, in The Fault in Our Stars. And I love that movie. Do you like it? I've never seen it. I've never seen it. really it's one of those one of those movies like i remember the last time i watched it was on a flight and i think there are studies that when you're on a flight you're more likely to get emotional something with the altitude or yeah i'm not really sure i don't know the science behind it but what i will say is i remember watching that movie last on a flight and just like hysterically bawling and yeah so i i liked him in that movie but outside of that i have no allegiance towards him i just like that particular movie but he really had a fall from grace and i feel like he's definitely been off everyone's radar over the last like seven eight years so i think he came up recently on our tmz tab yes because he just recently became a father and yeah i think that he's actually a good example of cancel culture actually working because he has not he was in Tokyo Vice and he was also in West Side Story with Steven Spielberg and he was cast in both of those before the allegations came out uh so he's kind of been acting a little bit since the allegations but only because those were projects that were in the works prior to the allegations but since the allegations have come out he has not been cast in anything he's kind of been off everyone's radar I would say.

11:11He's still making music. He is like a musician alter ego. And solo. And solo. Yeah, correct. I think it's like a DJ. Yeah, exactly. It's literally him just like making like EDM songs. It's like so stupid, but anyone can press play on a key on a Mac. Literally. Jack's Taylor. Yeah. Jack's Taylor. Jack's Taylor. Not really. Not really. If you're on video, not really. We're talking about we're we're referencing one of our famous favorite Jack's Taylor lines where Sheena goes, do you want to see some some scenes for my new music video? Not really. Not really. Takes a shot. Takes a shot. But yeah, he is also I don't know if you knew a Nepo baby.

11:52So that also explains his rapid rise to fame at the time. But yeah, he's definitely had quite the lull in his career deservedly. So and I don't predict any sort of comeback for him. And he doesn't deserve one. So let's get into what exactly we're talking about in terms of the allegations and then his background. So Ansel Elgort, if you're not familiar, is an American actor and singer, musician, whatever you want to call it, who was a teen icon at one point, poised for superstardom, like we said, until he got rightfully canceled for grooming and assault, alleged grooming and assault. While he's still got acting roles in recent years, like I said, he's an example of cancel culture actually working.

12:39Like he's not nearly as relevant as he once was. And so as for his background, he was born in New York City on March 14th, 1994. Like I said, he's an epobaby. His parents are Arthur Elgort, a fashion photographer who's worked with Vogue dozens of times, and Gret Barrett Holby. I doubt I'm pronouncing that correctly. An opera director. Both have Wikipedia pages. That kind of tells you all you need to know. If someone's parents have wikipedia pages doesn't matter like what industry they are they are considered an epi baby to me it's like why do your parents have wikipedia pages that's a fair i think thing to say barometer i think that's a fair barometer our our parents don't have can you imagine can you imagine if our parents have amy and nance amy and nance um he has two older siblings sophie algort a fashion photographer and warren algort a cinematographer fun fact that i learned while researching this episode.

13:33His first cousin is Sam Murrell. And I know that you've seen Sam Murrell. Yeah. I think I saw him probably six months ago. Wait, that's like a crazy connection. Crazy, right? So on his dad's side, they are our first cousins. And love his comedy. I had genuinely no idea. So that was an interesting fun fact that I learned. He attended the infamous LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts. And he was a grade above Timothee Chalamet and Lourdes Leon. As we know, Timothy Lourdes dated in high school. And Timothy and Ansel, I misspoke a couple months ago and we were talking about this and I was like, oh yeah, they were in the same grade, but they weren't.

14:13He was a year older than Timothy. Did I make this up, by the way? Did Jeremy Allen White also attend LaGuardia? Sorry, not to fact check. You were like testing. I actually don't think so, but let me see. I definitely could be wrong. Because I know Jeremy Allen White went to a high school in New York City. I remember because when I used to be a giggler, I think Hannah Burner said she went to high school with him. No, but Hannah Burner didn't go to LaGuardia. Okay, then I'm mixing it up. No, he did not. He went to the professional performing arts school in Hell's Kitchen. So another performing arts school in Manhattan, but not LaGuardia.

14:48Other famous LaGuardia alumni, though, include Jennifer Aniston, Sarah Paulson, Adrian Brody, Marlon Wayans, and many, many, many more. It's a very prolific high school for performers. At LaGuardia, he started taking acting lessons at age 12 and started the school's productions of Hairspray and Guys and Dolls. He also met his longtime girlfriend, Violetta Comichon, who was a ballerina at LaGuardia. He was a couple years older than her. More on that in a bit. In 2009, he was featured in a Teen Vogue spread photographed by his dad. And obviously that's not an opportunity that the average high schooler would get.

15:29Like he got that because of who his dad was. Compare it to his other fellow LaGuardia High School alumni, Timothee Chalamet. Like Timothee got to attend this high school as well, but he had more, I'm not going to say working class parents. His mom was like a real estate agent. His dad, I forget what Timothy Shalom's dad did. They weren't necessarily working class, but they were not connected in the industry in the same way that Ansel Elgort's parents were. So just having these opportunities right away, like it's just obviously a privilege. So a few months after graduating high school and just days after his 18th birthday, he starred as the lead in an off-Broadway production called Regrets in March 2012.

16:11His film debut was in the 2013 remake of Carrie as a supporting role. Did you ever see Carrie? I obviously watched the original. I can't say I've seen the remake, but it's a cult classic. I mean, it's a classic, not even a cult classic. Similar to Rosemary's Baby, The Omen. I accidentally, actually, just a huge tangent. I watched The Shining on Saturday. I rewatched it. Such a good movie. They don't make horror movies like that anymore. Yeah, they really don't. I mean, The Shining is an absolute classic. His first highly publicized role was in Divergent in 2014 as the brother of the lead character.

16:46And I was about to say, Christy, I feel like you would love the Divergent series for some reason. Wait, what's the MO of this series? It's like TV Hunger Games. Like they made this series thinking that everyone would be like, yeah, we love, you know, anything. Apocalyptic, like teenage hotties, you know, competing. I don't know. I never watched them. But like it's funny because they like just assumed because they were like, okay well it's a book series with like an apocalyptic angle in like teen hotties that like it's obviously gonna do well at the box office and it ended up I think they ended up ending the series before all the movies came out because like no one gave a fuck yeah I remember they were really trying to make it a thing and they just couldn't yeah speaking of Shailene Woodley yes yeah because she was yes well yes yeah but his breakout role alongside Shailene Woodley was playing Augustus Waters in the film adaptation of John Green's novel The Fault in Our Stars.

17:44And it's funny because they played siblings in the Divergent series and now they're love interests in Fault in Our Stars. And the film followed the story of Hazel, a teenage cancer patient forced by her parents to attend a support group where she meets and falls in love with Augustus. The movie was released in 2014 and this is when he became kind of a teen heartthrob household name, if you will. Again, I never watched this or read the book, but you loved it and you cried. Yeah, it pulls your heartstrings because it's young people that are afflicted with cancer and they fall in love and it's really sad.

18:20It sounds sad. I'm just not going to watch it. No, don't. I wouldn't support any body of work this man does. Yeah, and I have never supported his body of work. I was realizing while I was writing these notes that I have not seen any of his movies except men, women, and children. Did you ever see that? I have not seen that. He actually, it's an ensemble cast Jennifer Gardner's in it. I can't even remember. It was like not a good movie. It got panned by critics. I don't know why I even watched it. But his fellow LaGuardia High School alumni, Timothee Chalamet, was also in it. But it was an ensemble.

18:55It ended up bombing at the box office and got terrible reviews. But that's the only Ansel Elgort movie I've seen. So I'm glad I never bought into the hype with him. Yeah. The only thing I bought into the hype about when it comes to Ansel Elgort was his relationship with Violetta, which we will get to. But like they were goals. Like I, everyone was obsessed with them, including me. Yeah. She's so cute. Yeah. So cute. I thought they were like so in love and like so adorable. I didn't even realize that they had broken up. Obviously I did like, like top, top line research before this episode. And I was like, wait, are they still together?

19:27Cause then he's seen, we'll get into this obviously, but he was most recently seen with this Asian woman. I don't know if that's the mother of his child. Yes. That is presumably the mother of his child. Him and Violetta broke up in 2022 after 10 years together. But we will get to that in a bit. in 2014 indie wire named ansel one of the best actors under 20 he also presented at the oscars that year he reprised his role in the divergent sequels in 2015 and 2016 didn't watch any of them obviously god they tried hard they tried really hard to make it happen yeah it's never gonna happen i'm trying to think what other shows or movies really tried and they gave it like multiple efforts and it just never hit oh you know what um okay first of all i just want to say that when I was talking about Harry Potter last week on Dark Energy Tuesday, I obviously do not endorse J.K.

20:13Rowling. I was talking about the movies, not supporting J.K. Rowling, who is a turf transphobe. She is the absolute worst. She is disgusting. She's also anti-Semitic. I'm Jewish. So I do not support her at all whatsoever. Not even so anti-Semitic. Everything that you think is problematic about a person, J.K. Rowling has the attributes. Exactly. So I just want to get that out of the way that I'm sorry I didn't clarify that. I was just thinking about literally Daniel Radcliffe deserving an Oscar for that movie and never getting one or for that series. But speaking of Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

20:46I never watched those movies because, again, I was never a Potterhead until, you know, I watched I binged all the movies recently. But the Fantastic Beasts series was poised to be the next big because it was coming from the Harry Potter universe. You know, you have an automatic fan base. and apparently the first movie did really well and then they did two sequels and then the sequels like the second one did okay and then the third one did terribly and they just were making no money so they stopped doing them which is like you had such an easy you have like the most valuable ip in the world and right you can't like make a successful series can you think of any else now that you're bringing that up i can think of i always bring it back to pretty little liars but remember when they kept having these offshoots of like the lying game and there was like i think another series on ABC Family or whatever it's called Freeform now and they kept trying to make it happen and it just never happened.

21:37Were they supposed to be like actual spinoffs or like they were they were supposed to be like no I think it was like taking place in the same city and then there was certain um cast members from Pretty Little Liars that were also casted in these spinoffs but I just every time they did it it just never hit and it would be canceled after like a single season so we're actually going to do something on Patreon I think in a couple weeks of things in Hollywood that we forgot, but I feel like Lucy Hale's career just kind of fits this whole mold that we're talking about. Like every project thereafter post PLL just never hit.

22:08Do you ever think about how sad it would be to be like an actor or director or like writer and you put your heart and soul, blood, sweat, and tears into a project and then it releases and everyone hates it? It's really just, you probably have a whole self, like you have to reconcile with yourself like am I not who I think I was if I thought this was the greatest body of work of all time and all of a sudden everyone has a horrible reception to it that's that sucks well that's like us like making a podcast that like everyone hates no I'm just kidding kind of like but like we still think we're so funny like I know yeah our our four listeners just kidding we love you guys um and we and we see the love we feel it um anyway i'm sorry it's been it's been a week okay it's been a week just let us have this one oh my god okay um in 2017 he played the title role in the film baby driver alongside lily james and kevin spacey this would not be the last time that he works alongside kevin spacey birds of a feather birds of a exactly this movie is and i wrote this down this did not age well outside of lily james did i say lily did i say lily allen no no you said lily james okay i love lily james by the way lily james is great i watched something recently with her pam i did watch that and i liked it it was um a movie with riz ahmed that she did uh i just think she's so stunning like she's so pretty and she seems cool she has oh it's called relay and it's like a thriller on Netflix.

23:49I watched it with Henry and my in-laws like recently. Was it good? It was good. It wasn't like my favorite thriller I've ever seen, but she was good in it. Okay. Added to the content. I need more thriller movies. I also watched, oh, you know what else she was in was the Whitney Wolf Heard movie that I watched. Oh yeah. Swiped. Yeah. Whatever it was called. Yeah. It was so bad. It was so bad. She was good. She watched it from Rocket Research. I literally, I took one for the team and then I was like, no one else watches. It's so bad. But she was good it and uh i also wrote down i'm just not realizing i've seen none of his movies and i'm really proud of that but he got critical acclaim for this role this movie got you know amazing reviews people loved it i think to this day even though the cast again did not age well uh it's it's seen as kind of a classic it was he was nominated for a golden globe for best actor this one i feel like is always people point to this song it's like ansel elgort of baby driver it's never ansel elgort of fault Fault in Our Stars.

24:42Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was like his first big, like, cool, grown-up role, where it's like, oh, he's more than just like this teen heartthrob. He's like, you know, an action movie lead. In 2017, also, he starred in the drama thriller November Criminals alongside Chloe Grace Moretz. He starred in the 2018 movie Billionaire Boys Club opposite Kevin Spacey again, Emma Roberts and Taryn Edgerton. And this film was tanked by the allegations against Kevin Spacey and only had a limited release. Yeah, I haven't even heard of this movie, Billy and Our Boys Club. Because this is around the time that the allegations against Kevin Spacey came out, which are horrific, by the way.

25:23We all know by now. Piece of fucking shit. Yeah. He played the lead in the 2019 movie, The Goldfinch. It was critically panned and a box office bomb. In 2021, he starred as the lead role of Tony in West Side Story, directed by Steven Spielberg. And I never, did you ever see this? I did not. Him, he co-starred with Rachel Ziegler. And the movie received critical acclaim and was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. But the accusations against him, which we will get to, came out at the exact same time as this press store. He was actually put on a soft press ban by Disney and Steven Spielberg.

25:59And it kind of deflated all of the Oscar buzz. Despite being the male lead, he was basically absent from the major press junkets. Why can't I say that word? Junkets. It's junkets and events. Another one that I've not seen of his. He starred in this. And these are his last two acting roles. Like I said, he started the HBO Max series, Tokyo Vice, playing the lead role of Jake Adelstein, who is a real person. And he was an American journalist investigating the Yakuza or Japanese mafia in Tokyo. And I didn't really know. Like, I knew that the show existed, but I never knew what it was about or, like, cared about because it was starring Ansel Elgort.

26:40knowing the premise i'm like i'm kind of intrigued by this but i'm not gonna watch it because of who it stars yeah and it received generally positive reviews but was canceled in 2024 after two seasons i remember during the press tour of west side story like you just mentioned it was on the heels of all the uh essay allegations yeah and i just remember thinking even if this movie is going to be the best movie since like sound of music or whatever nothing will like he won't be able to come back from this it really bombed I feel like because it didn't get any press because of the negative press he was receiving yeah in parallel it definitely didn't horrible yeah it definitely didn't live up to its potential because it's like a Steven Spielberg movie it's based on this classic story that everyone knows and loves um yeah and that's all because of Ansel that's what happens when you cast and of course they cast the movie before knowing what would come out about him But like, that's why you only cast good people or you only should cast good people.

27:41You know, it's a liability. It's a liability. Insane liability for this movie. And looking back, he did have weird, like, obviously, there's no way to predict what would come out about him. But he did have some weird red flaggy behavior that ended up coming out. Like in retrospect, people are like, okay, he was he was always a weirdo. Yeah, I am curious to see what those allegations were like the breadcrumbs of him being such a window because I only know like the most egregious actions of his, but I look, not look forward to, but I'm into more. We will get to that. You guys already know we are ride or die for Lola blankets.

33:45After years of really not caring about my health as much as I should, one of my goals this year is to finally change that. Part of that is getting older. I won't say exactly how old I am, but let's just say I'm at the age where it's really starting to matter how I treat my body and my brain health. And I know plenty of you millennial baby snarks are probably having similar aha moments. That's why I'm so excited that I've discovered Function. There's a reason Function is backed by top U.S. doctors like neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman and cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Jeremy London. Under the name Ann Solo, he published EDM music remix from popular songs like Lana Del Rey songs and stuff.

35:26He released his first record in 2014 and played at the Electric Zoo Festival that year. in 2015 he signed a record deal with island universal records and yeah that's about it didn't even know that loser actual record record label fucking loser okay so let's talk about his relationship with violetta violetta and ansel were high school sweethearts they started dating in 2012 and ultimately split in 2022 i believe when they started dating he was 18 and she was 16 which in another thing in retrospect it's like okay is that kind of weird maybe but like they're in high school so it's like yeah yeah it's like they're in high school teenagers um she is a professional ballerina and also danced for one of his music videos i mean he had a music video yeah he did question mark question mark and i cannot tell you how much they were goals in their heyday i was obsessed with their relationship even though i was not like a fan of his acting career i like barely cared about him i cared about like that i was like invested in their relationship like I thought they were so cute and from this era I remember this is like my personal recollection they lived in I think like a gorgeous brownstone in Brooklyn together and I was like goals they were always in the Hamptons like rollerblading and being cute and like his sister Sophie Elgort who's a photographer was always taking like really dreamy like film photos of them he was obsessed with her and would constantly do interviews hinting about how much he respected her craft ballet and how sexy it was he would always comment like very sexual i remember that on her photos yes and this is like okay so i this buzzfeed article is so funny because this was like so buzzfeed and i think this was 2017 when they published this i'm starting to think ansel elgort is really fucking obsessed with his girlfriend the proof is in the grams and it shows some of violetta's instagrams and his comments one of his comments says i want to lick you everywhere.

37:21Very sexual for Instagram. Yeah, that's keep it in the text. That's a little bit. Yeah. Like if if Henry commented that on my Instagram. Oh, can you imagine? No, I can't. And my parents seeing that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No. So he would comment sexual things, which I think, again, is one of those things like in retrospect, people are like, okay, he was weird for that. Like there's one picture of her in like a tutu. She's topless, but like covering her boobs because she's a professional ballerina he goes silky smooth perfect and then another picture of her like at you know the dance studio and he comments damn and then you know perfect girl like always commenting like just like kind of sexual I took like 20 million screenshots these were just some that I included on the doc but um he also made weird comments about wanting to be in an open relationship with Violetta in 2019.

38:12In an interview with the Sunday Times, he said he and Violetta are clear they want to feel open to fall in love with other people. He said the pair are sexually exclusive, adding that the two things don't have to go hand in hand. When asked what he envisions for himself in the next five years, he opened up about his interest in exploring love with other people. He said, I'd like to have done a few plays and perform my music. I'd also like to find a lot more love it doesn't need to be sexual I could be done sexually with my girlfriend girlfriend I think we've been pretty clear that I want to feel free to fall in love with people and that option should be open but sexually it can be closed off like what what is that I don't think it can work like that yeah like what are you talking about again this is just one of those things in retrospect where it's like yeah you're such a fucking weirdo like what are you even talking about and it's also like he's doing this interview I highly doubt that Violetta was like yeah go fall in love with people but like I don't know maybe everyone's relationships are different but like i don't know it's one thing to have this conversation behind closed doors and being comfortable with your partner doing this but then just publicly speak on it like this it just and like to say that usually i mean i don't know much about open relationships but my assumption and you guys can correct let me know if this is incorrect is that usually you can be your monocle like you can be emotionally together with a person but also be sexually um with others and you can have your partner be sexually with others why is he saying that sexually i want to be closed off with other individuals i can be sexually closed off with violetta but i want to have emotional relationships yeah like that's worse that's worse yeah agreed agreed so i don't know i just that just seems backwards and the opposite of what i believe an open relationship to be but i've never been in one so yeah me neither but to each their own yeah um like i said they split in 2022 no one knows exactly why they split the allegations against him were in 2020 maybe it had something to do with the fallout from that.

39:56I could see, you know, finding out that not only was your longtime boyfriend cheating on you and sexually, like he said, he's like, I, you know, sexually, no, I'm just talking about falling in love with people. He was like being sexual with not only other women, but underage girls. So yeah, I could see why that would end a relationship, but who knows? There were many blind items throughout the years about him cheating on her unsurprisingly, constantly flying to some weird Washington coastal town called Ocean Shores, and also flying to Asia a lot. And unique underscore ad 8935 said on Reddit, I went to the same high school as them.

40:34He has been cheating on her literally the whole time they were dating. In 2018, Crazy Days and Nights posted a blind item saying this vowed up a list, mostly movie actor who had one franchise and probably has a second cheated on his girlfriend while they were We're on vacation together two weeks ago. Everyone was drunk and she passed out and he hooked up with another party guest. And that was revealed to be about Ansel Elgort. Allegedly. That's horrible. Like I said. You're on vacation together and then you shoot on her while she's asleep? Yeah. Yeah. What a piece of shit. Piece of shit. So again, these are some of the weird things in retrospect where you're like, okay, so you were making hypersexual comments on Instagram.

41:10You were apparently cheating on her. You were talking about having an open relationship and falling in love with other people. and just like a strange, strange person. So let's get into the allegations. Trigger warning. Trigger warning. It's really graphic. Yes. In June 2020, a Twitter user named Gabby alleged that Ansel had sexually assaulted her in 2014 when she was 17 and he was 20. She claimed that he had been DMing her since she was only 15 and that he was fully aware of her age. She also alleged that he solicited nude photos and proposed a threesome involving another underage person. And she posted a very long statement on Instagram and also posted a selfie of them to kind of corroborate.

41:59And this was before AI. So we can, this is what pisses me off about AI because now anyone accused of anything can be like, that's just AI. This is before AI. It's very clear that they were literally taking the selfie together. and she posted a long statement essentially saying that she was sexually assaulted by Ansel. She said that she was a fan of his. And this was the thing that's also so disturbing about this is that like he was such a teen heartthrob at this time and he abused that power because he knew that these teen girls would be obsessed with him and would be like, oh my God, Ansel Elgort is DMing me.

42:37Like obviously they'd be excited about that. I was, you know, how old? I'm trying to think. In 2020, I was in my late 20s. I'd be like, oh my God, what? Like this hot Hollywood actor is DMing me? Oh yeah, of course. Of course. Yeah, it's not even. Yeah. It's no surprise that she would respond and get excited about this. But you don't ever expect the worst thing to happen. You're just stoked that a Hollywood actor is talking to you. Yes, exactly. She said that she didn't think he'd ever see her DM. She DMed him. I was just a kid and was a fan. She said that when they met up, she said that this was my first time having sex and she didn't want to, but he forced himself on her.

43:18And she said she was sobbing in pain. And she also alleged that Ansel told her she would be a beautiful young lady when she was older and said he asked for nudes and proposed a threesome with a friend of hers who was allegedly also underage. She added that she now suffers from PTSD and panic attacks and is in therapy. And she said, finally, I'm ready to talk about it and finally heal. And she said that she wanted other girls who had gone through the same experience with Elgort to know they were not alone. He denied the accusations. He responded online saying, I cannot claim to understand Gabby's feelings, but her description of events is simply not what happened.

43:51He says they had a brief, legal, and entirely consensual relationship. And 17 is New York's legal standard for consent. The issue is that either way, he was not only allegedly soliciting nudes from her when she was underage and knew she was underage. Right. But also forced himself on her sexually. She was begging. What did she say? She said sobbing in pain, sobbing in pain. And yeah, I want to. And the actor went on to apologize for the way it ended, admitting that he just stopped responding to her and disappeared. So basically like trying to make her out to be a scorned woman being like, oh, she's just bitter that I ghosted her.

44:26Like, shut up. In any case, Gabby's accusation was a it caused a ripple effect. It led to a lot of other women to come out with similar accusations that he had DMed them knowing they were underage. Another user shared screenshots of Elgort allegedly messaging her from his private Snapchat account to tell her he had never hooked up with a fan before. She claimed that Elgort had known that the age of consent in Georgia was 16, which was how old she was when she went on two dates with him. Also on the same day, another person posted that Ansel Elgort sent her dick pics on Twitter when she was in eighth grade.

45:01Eighth grade? yeah i didn't realize this i mean all this is disgusting this disgusting disgusting i didn't know about this just absolutely disgusting all of this surfaced uh all of the surfaced an older tweet from a user who asked ansel elgort in french if you remembered sending her the following when she was 15 and he was 21 i want he said i want you to come into my hotel room when i'm in london next i want to kiss you you're so pretty but you can't tell a soul otherwise i could be in so much trouble using his star power to just manipulate like i like you so much but please don't say anything because i'm gonna get in trouble you're gonna get me in trouble yeah relative yeah so and this was an older tweet that had like been there but it never went viral until this happened no one paid attention to it she was 15 and he was 21 that makes no sense and he probably also it seems like he he is like well the legal age of consent in new york is 17 so i can like dm them and stuff when they're underage, but if I'm going to actually meet up with them or like in Georgia at 16 and like she's 16 and blah, blah, blah.

46:04He's probably like, I'm in Europe. Age of consent doesn't matter. Like she was fucking 15. Sick fuck. Uh, where was I? Okay. Apparently this was a huge pattern for him during the Fault in Our Stars era as his star was rising and he was becoming, like we said, kind of this teen idol sex symbol. He was abusing this power dynamic and yeah, he was he was just like this it boy at the time and traveling having access to hotel rooms no supervision tweeting or snapchatting girls in the area yeah like he had all the power at his fingertips it's just so manipulative and controlling and disgusting power yeah another woman on twitter said ansel had sent her pictures of his penis when she was 14 another woman posted a screenshot allegedly showing ansel asking her to send him a picture of something sexy he never addressed the other girl's claims because he knows they're right he has nothing to say to it yeah oh here's the tweet from uh that french girl i know you still follow me do you remember when you sent me this when i was 15 and you were 21 and it's him saying if you tell on me or tell your parents and they get mad i want you to come to my hotel room when i'm in london i want to kiss you you're so pretty but you can't tell a soul otherwise i could be in so much trouble you're too cute wish you were older so gross this is the um this is the dm between him and the uh 16 year old from georgia hi ansel how are you hi are you from atl i am are you planning on doing a show here yeah maybe what grade are you going to be in next year what grade what you're an adult man you're a fucking adult man you sick fuck she says i'm going to be in 11th grade and he says Snapchat me.

47:43It's my secret Snapchat, so don't share it. Smiley face. Disgusting. Another Snapchat screenshot. You ever been with an older guy? The young girl response. No, just no. No. No smiley faces. No. No. Oh my God. Just what a sick fuck. So yeah, this was essentially the end of his rising star. He never addressed the other allegations, but like I said, he denied that there was anything illegal about what he did with Gabby um and yeah like I said Tokyo Vice West Side Story those are his last two roles I don't see him making a comeback what do you think Christy do you think he can come back from this you know I think now in 2026 no I think that he and I almost said Dave Franco James Franco yeah kind of similarly they were on the this rising stardom they were everywhere on every movie and when all these allegations came out against them reasonably so they were canceled for it and i feel like i couldn't see either these two men coming back from it i think our memories about them being such predators are too strong for us to reconcile like any kind of comeback yeah no i i think society has progressed past the need for uh ansel algort or james franco and yeah i mean like like i said ansel algort i was never really like a fan of james franco i used to love james franco he used to be like my ultimate celebrity crush i was like I was so disappointed when all of that came out about him.

49:10And I don't think that there's a need for him to return to the spotlight. Yeah. And I think they're both similar in that they were using their positions of power as actors. And I think with James Franco, he was a professor, I think, at UCLA. And he would teach acting classes and he would kind of groom these women. And they saw him as this acting coach. He's James Franco. And he would instruct them to do very inappropriate things, highly sexual things. And prey on their insecurities, knowing that he was the one in power, not these women. And the same thing with Ansel Elgore. He's traveling the world.

49:38He's a star of Fault in Our Stars. He's in Baby Driver. He's at the Golden Globes. He's winning shit. How can you have these vulnerable young women who can't really advocate for themselves because they see this high-powered guy. Yeah. Who can just tell them and convince them to do anything. It's disgusting. And I forgot. It was James Franco. I think he would – I don't remember. I don't recall if he was grooming underage girls, but he would basically use his position of power. It was like his students. His students, yeah. so professor student yeah it's it's a power dynamic thing yes and i think the same thing i mean obviously what ansel elgort was doing involved allegedly underage girls which is illegal and disgusting i think that even if they were of age there is like a power dynamic thing yes absolutely and they use that to their advantage they use it to their yeah they abuse it and it's just oh it's so gross and it's so sad because i mean i i don't know nothing else to say about this other than I feel devastated for these young women because now they were so young when this happened, their brains aren't fully developed.

50:39They have to walk into adulthood with so much trauma and perhaps like guilt, but it was never their fault. I mean, this is just horrible. They changed and completely altered. He changed and completely altered these young women's lives forever. And I think this Gabby woman or this Gabby, yeah, this Gabby woman, she said that she suffered severe post-traumatic stress, panic attacks. Like she has not been well since this. he's yeah deeply impacted her yeah yeah exactly it's just absolutely disgusting so like christy said he has been back in the news for the first time really since all of this came out and i think when when tokyo vice came out there was a lot of talk about the fact that he was still getting cast and stuff even like gabby uh tweeted about how she was like it's been years why is he still like on my television screen right when i opened like hbo max um so triggering for these girls to see him anywhere and i think it was there was largely a consensus that like we're not gonna watch this show and that's i mean it was canceled after two seasons as good as it may have been um people i think like with james franco it's like we don't need him we don't need him done the damage much was done and it's like so it's such gross disgusting accusations that it's just not something like there are some celebrities that i know have been quote-unquote canceled and are still out there like lewis ck is an example i don't think that lewis jr yeah yeah yeah i don't think which by the way i know someone personally that was assaulted by cuba getting jr like just prolific predator and you know these are people that are still out there like getting roles for some reason just everyone decided that like no ansel elgort is not gonna make a comeback i think because his fan base was the younger generation and the younger generation is less forgiving because um they're more righteous in a lot of ways which is good which is good they have you know they they know the difference between right and wrong it's a different generation where we don't let these things slide anymore yes um but i just remember like there was always so much discourse about Tokyo Vice on like Twitter and stuff.

52:53And when you were actually bringing up, you brought up a really good point of he's on these shows after these allegations. When you open up your streaming services and see his face plastered on your screen. And I can't help but bring up when I watched the Diddy documentary, a lot of his victims came out and said, do you know how triggering it was for us to turn on TV, the radio and hear his voice or see his face? Like I would go into a state of panic. I would vomit. I had like severe physical reactions. Again, And I'm glad Tokyo Voice, it was canceled after two seasons because I don't want these women to be triggered again when they fucking open up HBO Max.

53:27It's not fair. Not fair. I can't even imagine even someone who has been a victim of sexual assault and sees, wait, this is a fucking predator and we're giving him like that's triggering to any victim who knows what he's done. Right. It's just like, yeah. So I remember that being, you know, a topic of conversation when that show was on the air. But my point is, since then, nothing until earlier this year, early 2026, it was revealed that he had become a father. He was spotted with a mystery woman. We don't know her identity. It hasn't been disclosed. But he was packed, walking with her and a baby strapped to his chest.

54:06So this is presumably the mother of his child and current partner, even though we don't know his identity. and just uh yesterday um February wait no we we recorded this I'm trying to think of when he posted this I think it was we're recording on February 12th I think he he posted this on Tuesday the 10th okay he posts on Instagram a little selfie of him with a baby and um he posted fatherhood is exhilarating exhausting it's everything and more the present feels more present and the future brighter. He wakes us up all night and yet I've never felt stronger during the day. He goes from crying to laughing, expressing everything he feels and it's freed me to do the same.

54:47I wanted to keep it sacred just for us, but now I want to share the story with you as it's the brightest, happiest thing I've ever experienced. I hope it brings you happiness too. So much love, Ansel. I hate that he signed it. So much love, Ansel. And we're not here to snark on a baby, obviously. Like we're happy for him that she, this baby seems to be happy, healthy, he's happy. I can't help but think this is kind of giving the Nick Vile edit where, look, I'm a preformed man because I have a child now. Yeah. Everything you've ever heard of me is I'm now exonerated up because I have a child now.

55:17Yeah, exactly. As a father of three under three. Damn book of four under four. Four under four. Four under four. Yeah, I think you're totally correct with that. It's like there's some sort of like cloak that people that, you know, have done bad things as soon as they have a child, it's like, well, I'm a dad now. I'm a changed man. And speaking of being a changed man, there is actually one other controversy in 2020 that I wanted to touch on really fast. Snarkbait is brought to you by Progressive Insurance. When you want your spring break to feel like and your kid's pool day to feel like and your hotel bed to feel like and room service to feel like because at Hilton hospitality feels like your cabana's ready.

58:45Ansel Elgort:Would you like fresh towels? It matters where you stay. Book now at Hilton.com. Hilton for this day. This is dark. And unrelated. He's so dark. Yeah. So this was unrelated to the assault charges. But, and I don't remember this happening. This is something that actually was on the bottom of my doc because I didn't know about this until I was doing research. So in June 2020, an anonymous Instagram post claimed that a student named Ansel used the N-word in school to bully others and that the school never took action to discipline him. The Instagram account was called Black at LaGuardia and has been consistently used to expose apparent wrongdoings at New York City's LaGuardia High School.

59:30Each post is seemingly submitted by an anonymous student. They said, once I was in class and we were learning about the Niger River, Ansel repeatedly mocked me and said N-word river multiple times. nothing was ever done about it the post reads newsweek emphasized that the post did not explicitly identify him and that there was no proof the allegation was about him well these were just allegations twitter took it and ran with it this was another layer to his cancellation in 2020 um yeah i did not see that but that's just like another add it to the list genuinely add it to the fucking listen it doesn't surprise me no like we know that he's disgusting yeah it's this privileged affluent wealthy white dude who thinks he can walk on water nothing no one can ever tell him that he's doing wrong exactly of course he does this shit entitled entitled white nepo baby predator essentially predator it's emphasis on predator but now he's a dad so so i mean like it's fine now yeah like all is forgiven because he's a dad and like this whole essay on his instagram you know i feel stronger during the day yeah you know this baby has made feel happier.

1:00:37I hope it brings you happiness too. Shut up. Like, please. And he goes, he goes, I wanted to keep it sacred. No, you didn't. You did a pap walk. Let me guarantee you, yeah, the baby was born five minutes ago. No, no, literally. It's been two weeks, Ansel, and you wanted to keep it sacred and you changed your mind. Like, shut up. This is a baby that just came out of the womb. Right. You wanted to keep it sacred. No one is, no paparazzi are following you anymore. And it was so clearly staged. It was so staged. They were so close. They were so close. So clearly staged. DSLR camera, like right into their face.

1:01:08I think her family was like surrounding them. It was so staged. And then he posts on Instagram. Okay. Yeah. It's so sacred. Oh, I have the willies even like thinking about how disgusting this man is. I hate him. He might be the worst person I think we've covered on this show. Well, not the worst. There's been plenty. I don't know. There's been bad. Like I'm trying to think. Dave Pornow, Ashton Kutcher. Ashton Kutcher. It's always a man. Yeah. Ashton Kutcher. It's always a man. he he falls in the same category as i think ashton kutcher and dave portnoy totally um i'm trying to think of who else and the most nefarious part is that sexual assault is horrible and i think sexual sexual assault of a minor you have to be a certain i mean all of it is horrible to be very clear but the fact that he used his power to groom these young young girls 15 14 what is wrong with you And that he kind of skirted around like consent laws.

1:01:58Yeah. Yeah. She's 17. That's legal in New York. And, you know, like that's so he's never technically been charged with a crime. And that's what also sucks so much about like just the burden of proof for something like this. Right. Because he can just say, well, she she consented and she was of age and she's like, I was sobbing in pain. But like she can't she can't prove that. And like, of course, in the moment, so many people can say, you know, you should have reported it right away. You should have gone to the police. So much said. Exactly. Exactly. No, I like you. No idea. Telling your own brain what actually happened.

1:02:35And also when you're young, this was her first time. Like she and this doesn't even count as really her first time having sex. This is not sex. This was assault. Right. But she was a virgin. So in her mind, she's probably like, is this like normal? is this like how it happens like right she was so young like how is she supposed to know i don't know it's just it's so fucking disturbing and disgusting what safe consent what it's hard for you to decipher that point what safe consensual sex looks like when your first time is completely altered by someone who raped you exactly perfectly said and yeah i'm just i'm really happy that he is you know really disappeared from relevance thank god and we're the only ones probably talking about him at all right it pains us that we're even talking about him but it's fine i think it's for the greater good because if you weren't familiar with how disgusting these accusations were now you are and um you know when we talk about the bucket putting him in the same bucket as ashton kutcher and dave portnoy who both have thriving careers still ashton kutcher is in that new fx show the beauty on on hulu that ryan ryan and i watch all of ryan murphy's garbage Don't ask me why.

1:03:47I watch all of it. Me too. Me too. Except this one. Except this one. Yeah, me too. I will not watch The Beauty because of Ashton Kutcher being in it. So I think the best thing you can do when you see a disgusting piece of shit man still getting opportunities is to vow to not support them, watch their content. So whether it's Louis C.K. or Dave Portnoy in Barstool, I side-eye anyone who supports any Barstool franchise. eyes honestly I do like I yeah you know I think that um a lot of a lot of people listen to chicks in the office for example I would love for um what are their names Rianne Fran Rianne Fran to go solo and not be associated with Barstool anymore because you know they seem like great girls I know they seem so cool they seem awesome and I know that we have a lot of overlap like yeah A lot of baby snarks listen to chicks in the office.

1:04:44And I just, I can't, I can't get behind anything that Dave Portnoy is associated with. And I think that's the best thing you can do if you don't condone this behavior. Do not, not saying that Rhea and Fran are at all responsible for Dave Portnoy's actions, but I think that they're big enough at this point. I don't know what their contract looks like, obviously. Another call her daddy situation, you know, where they're being like underpaid. I don't know. I don't know what their situation is. I don't know shit. But my point is they are big enough at this point to go off on their own. And I think they should.

1:05:15Yes, I think. And I think maybe because they are the biggest female show, I think, under Barstool. Yeah, 100%. Maybe they're getting paid like very handsomely because they bring in a female, a huge female audience. But yeah, they're better than this. Yeah, there has to be some incentive that Dave Portnoy is using to keep them around. But that's just an example of something that I'm like, oh, I would be interested in checking out that podcast if it wasn't associated with Dave Portnoy. like i'm trying to think who else what other men are still there are so many that i'm probably not remembering that are still out there like performing james franco is has all that disappeared yeah him and ansel have very similar career trajectories where they're off the top of the world and you never hear about them again absolutely um i mean you guys can sound off in the comments of anyone we're obviously missing i know there's i mean there's not a shortage of men that have done problematic predator things.

1:06:06There's not a shortage of disgusting men. But yeah. There's more at the tip of my tongue. I feel like we should know, you know, there should be more that we're sounding off and we're just blinking because it's early. But let us know who we are missing. And if there's anyone that is, is Ansel Al Gore triggering any other celebrities that should be canceled by now, but have not been. I'm curious to see what you guys have to say. But I'm so, I mean, happy for him that he has a healthy baby and he is seemingly in a happy relationship. Happy for Violetta that she was able to get out of this weird relationship where he was cheating on her every second of the day.

1:06:40And I'm happy that we don't have to see him on our movie screens anymore. Oh, Woody Allen. Oh, God. Woody Allen is still making movies. Of course. And he's friends with everyone in Hollywood. Yeah, and people in Hollywood love him. They're like, well, it's Woody. It's all Woody. He's old and he's cool. He's old. He makes great films. Woody Allen is one I'm looking at. There's actually an IMDb list. Hollywood sexual predators on IMDb. Obviously, we have like Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, you know, the classics. Yeah. Casey Affleck is one that I think people can write about. You didn't know this?

1:07:15No. Him and Joaquin Phoenix were accused together when they were making a movie together. No. Stop. Yeah, you need to. I know. And I really loved Manchester by the Sea. And now I can't rewatch it. It was that movie or whatever. And Ocean's Eleven. he's an ocean's 11 right well Manchester by the sea was one of the movies where they were kind of uh banning I mean coming together to assault women that makes me really no no no not when they were making Manchester by the sea that was just yeah it was a movie that him and Joaquin Phoenix did I think it was like some sort of like documentary or mockumentary I'm not even gonna bother to look it up sorry um but yeah they were apparently assaulting women together and Manchester by the sea he ended up winning an Oscar for but during that campaign is when during his Oscar campaign is when it started to come out.

1:08:01And I was really, I was really upset about that because I loved that movie. And I thought he was like really good at it, but now I can't rewatch it. We should do a whole Joaquin River Phoenix episode on Patreon. Oh my God, we should. I went down a rabbit hole because I watched Stand By Me two weekends ago. It's such a good movie. And I think that whole movie is just dark now. Rob Rainier, Casey. Well, it was always like a dark movie, but yeah. Yeah. Like just, it's so sad what happened to so many of the cast or people behind the movie yeah and how that did i tell you that one time i saw cory feldman in a hotel no yeah i like walked past my friend goes was that cory film it was like yeah like i was like oh my god it was but he was just it was at the hollywood rose so random so but um it's also crazy because i watched that too when rob reiner was tragically murdered and um it is a movie about like death and young man and life and yeah and how you know the the circle of life so it is interesting to watch now in retrospect but um it's such a good film such such a good movie and christy and i share the same brain because when we walked past the viper room on um is that on like sunset boulevard yeah yes west hollywood yeah yeah we walked past the viper room when we both stopped we were like river phoenix we're like wait a minute we stopped we literally stopped and paid our respects like yes i'm not exaggerating i'm not trying to be funny no no no literally not even trying to be funny like we literally were like pay our respects tracks and and this is why we are saying if we go with any of our girlfriends that aren't into pop culture they'll be like wait what is this so what are you talking about immediately we like stopped dead in our tracks and we're like we both looked i remember vividly we both stopped looked at each other grabbed each other we were like river phoenix yes and then of course like two blocks later we saw sushi park it was like a hollywood like yeah in the oppenheim group yeah yeah it was like all within five minutes of each other yeah um anyway guys i know this episode is a little on the more disturbing side, but...

1:09:55One of the most, I think arguably one of the most disturbing episodes we've done. Yeah, it is. He's disgusting. Would love to hear your thoughts, opinions in the comments. Let us know what you think of Ansel Algort, any other creditors out there that are still working that we're forgetting to mention. Let's come together and vow not to support them. And yeah, I guess what else? Follow us on Instagram at snarkbaitpod. We also have a good Patreon episode that we dropped yesterday. Yes. So the Nancy Guthrie case is obviously top of mind for everyone right now. And the case is developing. So we dropped it like as most up to date as we could.

1:10:44So if you guys want to learn more about that case, if you're like overwhelmed with everything you're seeing on Instagram, on TikTok, and you're like, I just need a one-stop shop for everything that's happening and the latest developments, go to patreon.com slash snarkbaitpod where we cover all of that. Hopefully we can. We got a lot of DMs about it, about, you know, our thoughts and it's something that has been consuming me. And so we decided to do a little Patreon episode. We are recording this from the past. So right now, I'm sure there have been more developments by the time you hear this, but we recorded this Patreon closer to when it releases, if that makes sense.

1:11:18Sorry, I'm like not making sense. No, it makes sense. Yeah. Okay. Hopefully that makes sense. Yeah. When we record Nancy Guthrie, we'll release it immediately so it will be as current as possible. Yes, as top of it as possible. Yeah, much more current than what we're talking about right now. So it's an evolving case. Every hour we're learning something different. Yeah. Everything is fishy. The Nest camera footage, everything about it. Oh my God, it's chilling. It's so chilling. And people are thinking, was that a woman? The eyes almost looked female. I don't, I mean, like, I personally, I don't see the woman at all.

1:11:44I see a man. Maybe it's because I'm, it's always a man. It's always a man. Yeah. Always a fucking man. Also a woman to be able. Yeah. Wait, what? No, we were talking about how it's like, we're like Dave Portnoy, Ashton Kutcher. Yeah. Dave, it could be. Yeah. I mean, and I do think that a female being able to carry an 80, I mean, even though she's a woman and she's, I don't know how big she is or how tall she is, but it's hard for a woman to kind of transport another human. It creates, I mean, it's strength. It's a lot of strength. Yeah, and it just, it looks like, it looks like a stocky. Stocky build.

1:12:13Yeah, and I'm not trying to be funny. Like, it actually looked like Dave Portnoy's body type. Yeah, don't worry. So by the time, again, by the time you listen to it, I'm sure there will be updates. Maybe you'll even know by now, hopefully. But again, we're recording in the past. And yeah, you can. It's completely in real time. It's crazy. Yeah, it's so crazy. I'm so just confused and have so many questions. But our newsletter link, if you want to sign up for our weekly newsletter, which we have so much fun doing with Bravo recaps and links to things we're loving and just fun little tidbits. What's making us laugh this week?

1:12:53What's disgusting us this week? All in your inbox. Sign up in the show notes. And also our live show link. If you want to see us IRL, we would love to see you at one of our live shows in the coming months. that is also in the show notes. And yeah, anything else? No, you covered it. We'll see you guys on Tuesday for another episode of Dark Energy Tuesday or on the Patreon. See you guys later. Bye, guys.

1:13:33is there any better feeling in the entire world than getting into a clean bed after an amazing relaxing night shower and turning on old roni no and as i've gotten older i've realized luxury bedding is something you truly don't appreciate until you sleep in it. After years of really not caring about my health as much as I should, one of my goals this year is to finally change that. Part of that is getting older. I won't say exactly how old I am, but let's just say I'm at the age where it's really starting to matter how I treat my body and my brain health. And I know plenty of you millennial baby snarks are probably having similar aha moments. That's why I'm so excited that I've discovered Function. It's the only health platform that gives you access to over 160 biomarkers, covering everything from hormones and metabolism to heart health, inflammation, stress markers, and toxins.

1:15:24You can even add MRI and chest CT imaging, and it's all tracked in one secure place. It's the kind of comprehensive view of your health that most people never get access to. There's a reason function is backed by top U.S. doctors like neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman and cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Jeremy London. I definitely feel like my memory and my neurons aren't as sharp as they used to be. And function of health has taught me what's happening in your brain reflects what's happening across your entire body. Things like inflammation, blood sugar regulation, nutrient levels, sleep quality, vascular health, all influence how your brain performs today and over time.

1:15:56So if you're not measuring those systems, you're guessing. So stop guessing what's going on with your body and mind and start actually measuring. Start by understanding what's happening beneath the surface. Own your health for$365 a year. That's a dollar a day. Learn more and join Function using our link. Visit www.functionhealth.com slash snarkbait or use gift code snarkbait25 for a$25 credit toward your membership.
