In short
The hosts discuss Jonah Hill’s public persona, career arc, and controversies—especially his insecurity about being typecast as the “funny fat guy,” his weight-loss reactions, and allegations about his behavior.
Guest backgrounds
The episode is hosted by Sophie and Christy (no other guests named in the transcript).
Key claims
- Hill resents being known for the “funny fat character” and wants to be taken seriously as an actor/writer; this insecurity is linked to a bitter, aggressive vibe.
- He’s reportedly rude in real life (valet story: “no one’s fucking touching my car but me”).
- He asked fans to stop commenting on his body; his weight loss sparked backlash and rumors (including alleged Ozempic/drug use, explicitly framed as unproven).
- He has faced backlash for homophobic slur use (2014 apology) and alleged controlling behavior in a relationship.
Notable examples
- Career: Superbad breakthrough; Oscars for Moneyball and Wolf of Wall Street (supporting roles); co-wrote/stars in 21/22 Jump Street; directed Mid-90s; Netflix documentary Stutz.
- Controversies: You People criticized for anti-Semitic tropes tied to a Louis Farrakhan-supporting character; Sarah Brady abuse/misogyny allegations with “boundaries” text screenshots.

1:41Hey, everybody. Welcome back to Snarkbait. I'm one of your hosts, Sophie. How's it going, Soph? It's Christy. It's going good. I'm at the Jersey Shore. We're doing like a long—I'm like still working and stuff, but it's just been nice to like come down and get some, you know, R &R. Even walks on the beach. Some R &R. Yeah, even though I'm still on the clock. Yeah, how is your week going? It is going. We just recorded a fun Patreon episode that released yesterday, and we talked about an AMA. We did an AMA, and it was fun. We talked about Jackie Oshry being on Usha Vance's podcast. we talked about.
2:29Harry Styles. Yep. Rob Kardashian. JonBenet Ramsey. We talked about Mary Kate Olsen. I mean, we talked about a lot of stuff. Yeah. We had a whole lot of pop culture cues in there. So thank you guys for sending those in. And that is on Patreon, link in our show notes. And I am actually very excited for our episode today. As the title implies we are talking about Jonah Hill. And I actually was doing research for this episode and like live texting our group chat. And I was like, Jonah Hill is such an interesting person. I think what it really comes down to for him is that he resents the fact that he is known.
3:12He is most well-liked and most hireable when he is the quote unquote funny fat character. And he resents that. And I think more than anything wants to be taken seriously as an actor, which he has been like he's been nominated for two Oscars. But I think he wants to be known as someone who's not like the funny fat guy. But it's like that's always kind of what he's going to be known as. And I think that has bred so much insecurity for him, which is why his behavior sometimes it like Like, reads as very insecure, bitter. Just, he's a very interesting person. And I'm excited to, you know, get your reaction to some of his quirks.
3:57Yeah. We were talking offline about it, about how fragile of an ego men can have. Yeah. And I think that Jonah Hill is such a prime example of that because he's surrounded by so many leading men. Him and Leonardo DiCaprio, for God's sake, are like BFFs. Yeah. Best friends. Tobey Maguire. Channing Tatum. he's best. Channing Tatum. Yeah. He's he's close with a lot of these A-list celebrities and he too is an A-list celebrity. I would consider him. Yeah. But he just is not that same star quality that his peers are. And I can imagine how that would kind of do a number on your mental health. Like that would kind of suck.
4:29I'm not discounting that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But I think for him, what I've heard from a lot of like people that I've met, interestingly enough, I was at the Parker Palm Springs, which is like a very nice hotel. It's like probably one of the nicest in Palm Springs. And I was talking to one of the valet guys and he was telling me how rude Jonah Hill was. He said that one time he, Jonah Hill pulled into his like very nice car. I don't know what kind of car it is. And the valet guy was, okay, like here's your number. And Jonah Hill says, no one's fucking touching my car but me. Like super rude. It's like the guy's just trying to do his job.
5:00He's just very off-putting, very aggressive, aggressively like just mean. And doesn't really surprise me, honestly. He has a reputation for not being the nicest guy. both professionally and just, you know, like you said, just to normal people in real life. And yeah, like there are definitely some stories about him, which we will get into, where I'm like, this guy is just so fucking bitter when I feel like he should be. And it's funny. I was listening to the Smart Less podcast that he was just on, which, by the way, like that podcast is so successful. It really is. For a good reason. Like Will Arnett, it's one of the top podcasts in the world.
5:39Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, who's the third one? Smartless podcast. Sean Hayes. Sean Hayes. Okay. So super successful. All of those guys are really funny and successful in their own right. And together, it's just, you know, they're riffing. I was listening to it. They interviewed Jonah Hill and I guess it was a live show. So maybe the dynamic was different. This was my first time listening to SmartLess. And I was like annoyed at how much they kept interrupting each other. And I've talked about, we've talked about how like three hosts, that's tough because it feels like everyone's trying to get a word in.
6:15I feel like two is like perfect. I just did not like, and it was a live show, so maybe the format was different. But on this podcast, he talked, Jonah Hill talks about how he is so grateful now for his life and how he's doing more writing behind the scenes and he has a family now and he sounds really happy, but I think it took him a while to get here. So let's get into it. So Jonah Hill was born Jonah Hill Feldstein, December 20th, 1983 in LA to Long Islanders. Sharon, who is a costume designer and stylist, and Richard Feldstein, an accountant who actually did accounting for Guns N' Roses and other bands and celebrities.
6:56So he's like tangentially connected to the showbiz industry growing up, but not really what I would consider like a true Nepo baby. Neither of his parents have Wikipedia pages, which is like my, uh, what's that's my, that's your barometer, barometer, but he definitely grew up relatively wealthy in an affluent area called Cheviot Hills in LA. And he admits, he actually addresses this on the smart list podcast. He's like, I'm not an epa baby. My dad's a fucking accountant. But I grew up at a high school where every kid's parents work in the entertainment industry to some degree. So having a dream to write for The Simpsons, for instance, is not like the crazy.
7:36It's not out of reach. It's not this crazy, crazy thing. Whereas, you know, someone I don't know, I'm just using this as an example because this is where I'm from. Someone from Ohio couldn't really realistically have that same dream. I mean, you can have whatever dream you want, but it wouldn't be as realistic as it was for someone growing up so connected to the industry like he did, even though his parents weren't necessarily like celebrities. He actually says that he was obsessed with The Simpsons growing up, and this is like a big influence for him in his comedy writing. He actually dropped Feldstein from his name in 2023.
8:07So now he is legally just Jonah Hill. Fun fact, he grew up, I didn't know this until I was doing research. He grew up best friends with Adam Levine because their parents, their parents were best friends. So they grew up like really close family friends, basically family, which I did not know. Of Maroon 5? Yes, Adam Levine of Maroon 5. What? I know. Isn't that so funny? That is so cute and random. I know. It's so random. Wait, I'm looking at pictures. Yeah, they're like, wait, this is so... Yeah, and they're best friends to this day. Wait, that's hilarious. I know. Isn't that so cute? Jonah Hill officiated Adam Levine's wedding.
8:42Yeah, to Bahati Prinsloo. His younger sister is Beanie Feldstein, an actress who I loved her in Lady Bird, Booksmart. She also was in. Oh, my God. What am I thinking? She was in eighth, not eighth grade. Oh, the AHS Monica Lewinsky. Yes, yes, yes, yes. American Crime Story. I think it was. She was also in some Broadway play where she was replaced by Lea Michele. Funny. Yeah. Yeah. And yeah, she is very talented also. And they had an older brother, Jordan Feldstein, who tragically died age 40 in 2017 from a pulmonary embolism. Whoa. I know. Really sad. But he was one of three growing up. And after high school, he attended the new school.
9:34He attended UC Boulder and then dropped out slash was kicked out. It's kind of unclear. I think he jokes that he was kicked out, but he wasn't really. He dropped out. He like never went to class and then went to the new school in New York City, but never ended up earning a college degree. But while he was living in New York City as a college student, he wrote and performed his own plays in an East Village bar. And people enjoyed his work and were like, this guy's funny. I think he's got some talent. And he became really good friends with Dustin Hoffman's son. And you know who Dustin Hoffman is, right?
10:06Yeah. And Rain Man. I mean, he's in so many things, The Graduate. And he was like always hanging out at their house. And so he was around Dustin Hoffman. Dustin Hoffman was like, wait, you're like funny. Like you should like, you know, really take this seriously. You're really funny. And that's how he got cast in his first movie in a really small part called I Heart Huckabees. I never saw that movie. He also had a small part in Judd Apatow's directorial debut, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, in 2005. Do you remember he was like the guy with the boots at the thrift shop? Do you remember? God, it's been so long since I've seen that movie.
10:48I just remember him in the Superbad debut. I feel like that's kind of when he was first introduced to me. Yes. So Judd Apatow, just like that changed his life, getting introduced to Judd Apatow and being cast in The 40-Year-Old Virgin. He had a, even though it was a very small role, it is like so funny. He was definitely, you know, gifted. And in the following years, he appeared in Knocked Up, Click, Grandma's Boys. Click. I know. I love Click. He plays the son grown up in some of the later, oh my god, that's such a sad movie. Dude, it made me ball in the theater. Yeah, it's really sad. When he's like, I love you, dad.
11:26And then he like rewound it. Oh my god, it makes me want to cry. I I was like, seriously, I'm so, I was like, this is supposed to be a comedy. What is this shit? I know it was not a comedy. 15:36So his first leading role, like you said, super bad, in 2007. This was obviously a huge success and has since become like this cult classic comedy. And this changed his life. It's often cited as the film that launched his career along with Michael Cera's, who's also one of his best friends to this day. And Michael Cera had just been in Juno also. So he was having a huge moment also. And Jonah Hill was like, this is when I couldn't walk down the street without being recognized after Superbad. Like, it just became such a success. Yeah. To this day, it is still one of the cool classics. It's referenced as one of the funniest movies of all time.
16:19I haven't watched it in so long. I think it's time for me to give it a rewatch. Me too. In 2008, he hosted SNL with musical guest Mariah Carey. In 2010, he started Get Him to the Greek with Russell Brand. Remember when Russell Brand was, like, the it boy? Me and my friends in college. Like, forgetting Sarah Marshall. Yes. When we watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall, we were hysterical. Yeah, that's a great movie also. And Get Him to the Greek, fucking hilarious. Yeah, we definitely need a Russell Brand episode. But this reminds me of what we were saying at the beginning, where it's like, he has always had these parts of like, the funny fat friend or whatever.
16:56And he's never been like the leading, the leading man, really. And I think that's what, like, even his Oscars are both for Best Supporting Actor for Moneyball and Wolf of Wall Street. and he is very much supporting roles in both those movies, but like steals the show, obviously. Yeah. I think the closest thing to like lead lead was when he's in 21 and 22 Jump Street, which as you guys know, two of my favorite movies. No, I'm going to watch it after this. I'm being so for real. That movie is so fucking funny. So fucking funny. Oh my God. Like I was just, I was just telling you this because we were talking about it on the Patreon.
17:32Like it all circles back to 21 Jump Street. Like I can't remember why, but I was talking about how it's just like, So it's just those movies make me laugh out loud so hard. And my crush, Dave Franco. Oh, yeah. Dave Franco. He's in jail with Rob Riggle. And Rob Riggle, he's like, your vagina doesn't fucking work. And he's like, you didn't say that last night. It's so funny. I fucked her too. You played saxophone at my sister's wedding. I fucked her too. so Jonah Hill actually Jonah Hill wrote 21 Jump Street co-wrote it and 22 Jump Street and he's co-writing 24 Jump Street which is set to come out they're skipping 23 for some reason 22 Jump Street was fucking funny too yeah oh my god those movies are so that's when the jail scene happens yeah where in the first movie Rob Riegel's dick gets shot off and then he's in jail and shares a jail cell with Dave Franco yeah and then he goes oh my god like uh they turned it in a vagina and you know what?
18:33That time of the month, it's just crazy. And then Dave Franco goes, your vagina doesn't work, man. And he goes, it's not what you said last night. And then Dave Franco goes, you guys got to get me out of here. I was supposed to go to Berkeley. Oh my God. Those movies are so funny. Okay. Sorry. Sorry. I'm getting sidetracked. After Get Him to the Greek, he was actually offered one of the main three roles in The Hangover and turned it down. And I wonder, I bet it was Alan because Alan is kind of like the funny fat one in that movie. So I'm curious. He turned it down for it was a more serious role.
19:10And it was in a movie that I hadn't really heard of. So let me pull it up because I didn't write it down for some reason. It was called Cyrus. I had never seen this movie or heard of it, but it was a romantic comedy drama film. and he I don't think that movie like the hangover obviously would have been like a much bigger movie for him but he said because he was in this movie Cyrus that the director of Moneyball saw him and offered him the Moneyball role which he ended up getting an Oscar nomination for so it worked out for him in 2011 he was in Moneyball with Brad Pitt and Philip Seymour Hoffman and again this was kind of like his first really serious role and um he received the oscar nom also a golden globe golden globe nom for best supporting actor um in 2011 he had a minor role in django unchained i had to look this up because i couldn't remember him in it it was it was a small movie it's it's a good one it's a good one i mean it's a quentin tarantino so it's like graphic and like crazy but like it's a good movie i mean of course you haven't seen it no i'm like every single one of these i'm like i've seen like the silly ones but like i'm not seeing like money ball yeah um 2012 he co-writes and stars in 21 jump street iconic uh just like it really is just one of those movies like i said when we were talking about this earlier it is so hard for me to laugh out loud at something and like it really just gets me it's so funny um in 2012 he was asked to join the writer's room for Bruno, which is like the Borat sequel kind of with Sacha Baron Cohen.
20:53And he did some writing for Sacha Baron Cohen and joined this writer's room and also co-produced it. And he said that, you know, Sacha Baron Cohen and Judd Apatow are two people that helped him become the comedy writer he is today. And what's interesting is that today, he says on the Smart List podcast, like I said, that he really identifies now with being a writer behind the scenes more than being in front of the camera. And it's just his dream. It's always been his number one dream to write jokes and be a comedy writer. And he has been lucky enough to like work with some of the biggest names in comedy throughout the years.
21:28Yeah. I remember even Leo said at one point that the improvisation that Jonah Hill exhibits on set is bar none. He's like, no one can improvise in the way that Jonah Hill does. And like, I'm sorry, that's a smart person. like for you to improvise like that off the cuff and be that fucking funny you were brilliant yeah Jason Bateman and Will Arnett on this podcast also say that they're like they're no one improvises better than you and also I don't know if this says listening to it on 1.5 speed but like Jonah Hill like he was really talking really fast like everyone is talking fast because I sped it up but like I don't like there are there are rumors about his drug usage and I don't want to speculate per se, but this is just rumors about him.
22:11And he sounded like he was on some sort of upper, but I would say like, he's gotten some backlash. We will talk about why he's gotten some backlash after this podcast episode. I didn't think he came across as that bad. I think he just sounded very, um, more confident than he has. Like he's been famously insecure and it sounds like he's finally found his footing and became like, you know, confident in himself. And I think that's off putting to some people. I don't know. But he definitely like there are some things he says where you're like, wow, you're really cocky. Like he talks about how he's like, he's like, I was so famous after Superbad, which like is a fact.
22:51But like the way he says it, you're kind of like, OK, you're annoying. But the podcast hosts are like, you are like one of the world-class improvisers. In 2013, he starred as himself in This Is The End. Did you watch that movie? No, this is the one. James Franco and Emma Watson's in it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes. So I was confusing that with Don't Look Up. No, no, no. So This Is The End. He's also in that movie. But in This Is The End, it is a bunch of celebrities playing themselves and they're at a real Hollywood party and then like an apocalypse happens like asteroids start hitting and then it becomes like a survivalist and in that movie he gets um graped by a ghost i think if i'm remembering correctly it's been a while since i have since i've watched this movie but um but yeah that's that's a pretty pretty funny movie um so uh 2013 is when he also stars in wolf of wall street he one of the best movies i've ever seen honestly a great movie i also saw this in theaters with my nana jojo my grandma and she was like oh my god she was like so scandalized obviously because it's like so scandalous but it is he was incredible in this movie and he reportedly only accepted a salary of sixty thousand dollars because he wanted to work with martin scorsese that badly and this also like he has a relationship with martin scorsese to this day he calls him Marty on the Smart Less podcast, which again, like comes across as kind of annoying.
24:20He's like, I can't believe I get to just call him Marty. Like he just sounds kind of like cocky. Yeah. But this is also when he becomes besties with Leo DiCaprio and he gets his second Oscar nomination for this movie. And then 2014, 22 Jump Street, where they go to college. Remember at the end of 21 Jump Street, where Ice Cube says he plays like the sergeant or whatever who's in charge, and he goes, you guys are going to college. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then the montage at the end of 22 Jump Street, it's like, you're going to medical school. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're doing semester at sea.
24:57Yeah. You're doing veterinarian school in like all of these different, like - Yeah, no, I - You're going to culinary school. It's not semester at sea. Oh my God, literally screaming. No, it's so funny, you guys, the montage at the end of 22 Jump Street. Oh my God, I love those movies. Oh God. Semester at sea, hilarious. Um, also in 2016, he stars in War Dogs with Miles Teller. Excellent movie. I saw this forever ago. And it's what they they're arms dealers, right? Yes. It's so fucking good. I remember being like, I'm not gonna like this movie. I was obsessed. That's so random. I never would have like guessed that you'd like that movie.
25:32I'm like, this is a great movie. Your taste is so unpredictable. I love that about you. You're so like just all over the, inconsistent. Um, no, I know. Yeah, I remember like my room was like, let's watch this. I'm like, I don't really want to. but then I was like, oh, I like Mario's Teller because he's hot. Yeah. Okay, and then I was like, this is the best movie I've ever seen in my life. Yeah, I remember it being good. I wouldn't say it's the best movie I've ever seen, but it's a good movie. And The Guardian's Wendy Eyed wrote of his performance at the time, Jonah Hill is so repellent, all swagger, sweat, and unapologetic sexism in War Dogs that for a while you don't immediately realize what a blitzkrieg of a performance he delivers.
26:06So got more critical acclaim for his acting chops in this movie, which is more of a serious-er role. Like, I still think, from what I remember, there were some comedy elements, but it was overall, like, a drama, I would say. 2016, he lends his voice to Sausage Party, which who thought of this fucking movie? Like, I remember seeing this in the theater high with my friends, and that's just, like, the only way to watch this movie. It's like you're a bunch of food talking. No, I didn't see this. It was silly. I think there's also, like, a sequel. In 2018, he stars in the show Maniac, on Netflix alongside Emma Stone.
26:45I never watched this for some reason. And I watched like every like, you know, Netflix miniseries really. I think it got bad reviews and that's why I didn't watch it. Yeah, it like did not get very good reviews. Which like you would think with Emma Stone and Jonah Hill. And also remember they were in Superman together. Oh my gosh, you're right. You're right. Yeah. Okay, Annie and Owen are two strangers who are drawn to the late stages of a mysterious pharmaceutical trial. each has a different reason for participating. Did it get bad reviews? 7.6 on IMDb and 84 on Rotten Tomatoes. Oh, okay. Maybe I'll watch that actually.
27:22So nevermind. I took it back. In 2018 also, he makes his directorial debut with the movie Mid-90s and it's a coming of age drama about a young skater boy in LA. Did you always have young skater boys in Ohio? Because we had so many of them in Orange County. Oh, my God. I mean, it's a totally different. I feel like, of course, in Southern California, you have skater boys. I would say we definitely had skater boys, but not probably not the kind. Like we had like a couple of kids in high school that were like, yeah, we we ride. Yeah, I know. It was like it was a cultural phenomena here. Yeah, I'm sure.

27:59And I mean, when you go to L.A. and you go to like the Venice, what's it called? The skate park. Yeah. It's like it is such a culture. Skateboarding is such a culture in Southern California in a way that it wasn't. And like surfing, all of that, because you have the beach, obviously. Like it's just not as much. Especially in Cincinnati, where I grew up. It's like, I feel like in California, you have like the mountains and snowboarders and surfers and the beach. It's like we have just like cornfields. There's not that much. Yeah. Yeah. But he also started directing music videos around this time, too.
28:30He directed music videos for Sara Bareilles, Travis Scott, Vampire Weekend, and more. And in 2018, he starts an A24 zine called Inner Children about body image and insecurity. And he starts being really honest here about how insecure he's always been. And he writes about being a 14-year-old kid who felt ugly, overweight, undesirable, and talked about essentially learning to embrace that younger version of himself. So yeah, he has been very open over the years about not ever really coming to terms with his weight. And interestingly, I didn't know this. He was supposed to play the villain in 2022's The Batman with Robert Pattinson.
29:15Did you ever see this? Of course not. No, of course not. It was good, actually. And people were like not happy about Robert Pattinson being Batman, but he ended up being amazing, obviously. Negotiations fell through. So he was going to be the Riddler. And then the Riddler ended up being Paul Dano, who I think is really, really, really good in that movie also. He's so like, like, if you don't know who that is, just Google Paul Dano and you will recognize his face. He is so good at playing creepy characters. Oh, but he is, he is, he is creepy looking. Yeah. Like he is just, um, incredibly, incredibly talented.
29:52And in 2021, he stars in the aforementioned Don't Look Up alongside Leo DiCaprio, Timothy Chalamet, Jennifer Lawrence, etc. And Jonah and Leo actually were living together while filming this. Like, they're best friends. And never forget, I thought of this. You remember when this happened? When Leo snuck up on Jonah Hill pretending to be a fan. And Jonah's like, what the fuck? We would queen out with Leo. I'm sorry. He has a great sense of humor. I feel like he's so funny. Like, he'd be so funny in real life. No, I agree. Yeah, he has a good time. No, this is funny because Jonah Hill looks like pissed until he realizes it's Leo because I'm sure he hates being approached by fans because he's like so rude.
30:35Right. No, he hates it. So in 2022, he announces that he was going to take a step back from doing press tours and film promotions because of his anxiety attacks. He says he's managed anxiety attacks for 20 years. And he subsequently directs the documentary Stutz on Netflix to share therapeutic tools. And it's alongside his IRL therapist, Dr. Phil Stutz. And I never watch this, but in the documentary, he addresses deep-seated body insecurities and the psychological toll of public scrutiny and media commentary regarding his weight, which we will circle back to in a bit. So his arc is kind of like in 2018 with his zine, I'm learning to love the kid who told who was told he was fat and ugly.
31:21In 2021, he says, please stop commenting on my body. Oh, because that happens also. He says in 2021 that he doesn't want people to comment on his body anymore. In 2022, he does the studs slash therapy slash self-acceptance of it all. And then in 2026 on the SmartLess podcast, he goes, if you call me the fat kid from super rad ever again i'll fucking annihilate you i'll kill you he says that yeah he says that on the podcast and he's like joking but like you can tell that it's coming from a serious place um i i think he like hates being perceived but doesn't necessarily hate like the industry in hollywood because he's still like best friends with leo and adam levine and channing tatum etc etc but like he doesn't like being perceived and that's why he's like more behind the scenes now and also why he moved to San Diego.
32:15He lives in San Diego now with his family. Yeah. And in 2023, he co-writes and stars in the movie You People with Eddie Murphy and Julia Louise Dreyfuss about an interracial couple, one Black and one Jewish, awkwardly ingratiating into each other's families. I hated this movie. I actually found it incredibly problematic for a lot of reasons, and I wrote an entire article about it on my Substack at the time. um and andrew schultz so here's one interesting thing about it andrew schultz who was in the movie claimed jonah and his co-star lauren london never actually kissed during the wedding season and that it was cgi and you can tell you can tell the cgi kiss was it because of covet protocols or like something more i know isn't that so weird that is really weird like you can't even fake like a no-tongue kiss.
33:09Right. It's, like, very strange. That is strange. The father, Eddie Murphy, is portrayed as a Louis Farrakhan supporter, and we're supposed to, like, act like that's, like, normal. It's never revisited. Like, that's just supposed to be something that, like, Jonah Hill has to accept. And Louis Farrakhan, if you know anything about Louis Farrakhan, he is a raging anti-Semite. He is still alive, I believe. He is the leader of the Nation of Islam. Um, yeah, he's still alive. And he has said that Jews are termites. Um, he has perpetuated like Holocaust conspiracy theories. Um, he says for the small number of Jewish people in the U S they exercise a tremendous amount of influence on the affairs of the government.
33:53They exercise control. Um, and black people will never be free in this country until they are free of that kind of control and said that they helped, the Jews helped Hitler.
34:09Satanic Jews have infected the world with poison and deceit. Call me an anti-Semite. I'm actually an anti-termite, saying the Jews are termites. The false Jew will lead you to filth and indecency. That's who runs show business. That's who runs the record industry. That's who runs television. The enemies of Jesus were Jews, et cetera like he has said so many awful things about jewish people and um uh in one scene uh fatima who's played by nia long who is eddie murphy's wife repeats a farrakhan talking point that jews made money from the slave trade and this conspiracy theory has been bunked debunked over and over again but the subject is never broached again refuted or corrected um jewish publication hey alma at the time referred to this particular line as an insidious piece of misinformation.
35:00And the Farrakhan support that Eddie Murphy's character, you know, talks about, it's never revisited. And it's just portrayed as something that they'll just have to accept. And it was also, and again, this is coming from the perspective of a Jewish person watching this movie, but Kendall Cunningham, who is a friend of the pod and an incredible entertainment reporter, wrote for the Daily Beast at the time that while Ezra's parents display some ignorance, they're at the very least accepting of his relationship. On the other hand, it's frustrating that the main antagonist in this film is an ultra-conservative Black man.
35:33It's almost like Barris and Hill, who wrote the film together, don't realize that the stigma they're exploring is a result of white racism. By the end of the movie, Shelley, Julie Louise Dreyfuss, is rightfully apologizing for the way she's tokenized Amira. Akbar apologizes to Ezra for continuously attempting to sabotage him by bringing him to a Crips-run barbershop wearing a red sweatshirt or crashing his cocaine-fueled Vegas bachelor party. Yet there's no mention of anti-Semitism or anti-Jewish tropes by the time the credits roll. And I don't know. It's funny just reading my own writing from three years ago about this movie, because at the time I was like, this is shockingly bad.
36:13It's not only not a funny movie, and it has Eddie Murphy and Julie Louise Dreyfuss. You have to try really hard to not be funny when you have those two leads, but it's offensive and it's offensive to both Jews and black people, clearly. I completely forgot about this movie. What is it rated on? It had 30%, 39 % on Rotten Tomatoes. It was not good. So like the fact that like his name was attached to this, I was like, well, that's embarrassing. It's really, especially because Jonah Hill is Jewish. I'm like, why are you like writing this? It's very problematic. So yeah. And like I said, he said on Smart Less in 2026 that he considers himself a writer now more than an actor.
36:54And he says he's constantly writing comedy movies. So he's more behind the camera. And he wrote The Outcome, which starred Keanu Reeves. And that didn't get great reviews that came out earlier this year. And he has another movie coming out called Cut Off that he has written. And that is to be announced, the release date of that. So I'm sure he has other stuff cooking that I just have not seen. But yeah. Oh, yeah. Outcome got 27 percent in Rotten Tomatoes. So his writing credits, besides like 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street, nothing to write home about. No pun intended. What about mid-90s? So that got an 81.
37:40OK, mid-90s, I think, was respected. 81 percent Rotten Tomatoes, 7.4 IMDb. Vogue said Jonah Hill on mid-90s makes his directorial debut, making it look effortless. So I think that one had good accolades. I didn't see mid-90s, but I remember being interested in watching it. No. I never saw it either. So yeah, he's definitely like hit or miss. He either writes a classic, 21 Jump Street, or something that should be honestly forgotten about, like you people. Okay, so let's talk about his weight loss and Ozempic rumors. And I kind of feel bad because he has said explicitly he doesn't like when people talk about his body, but I feel like we can't talk about Jonah Hill without talking about the public reaction to his weight loss.
38:25So obviously, like we said, he gained mainstream fame as the chubby sidekick in Superbad. But he started to slowly, I said, gain weight, lose weight through the 2010s and then rapidly in the 2020s, which obviously did not go unnoticed. And he showed up to the ESPYs in 2011, significantly thinner than he had been last time the public saw him. And he said it was he wanted to like get in shape for more serious roles. And he had worked with a trainer and nutritionist and had changed his diet to mostly sushi. And in 2021, one, like I said, Jonah asked fans to stop making comments about his physical appearance, stating, I know you mean well, but I kindly ask that you not comment on my body, good or bad.
39:12I want to politely let you know it's not helpful and doesn't feel good. Much respect. And I completely respect this, honestly. I know here we are talking about his body, but like, I think that that like body neutrality perspective is very, I like that. And I think that making comments about anyone's body, Because I have been in those situations where it's like someone's like, wow, like you look really skinny here or you look really good here. And I'm like, do I not normally look good? Do I not normally look skinny? Like even if it's a compliment, it is harmful. And so I completely I completely agree with that.
39:47I'm like, we shouldn't talk about anyone's body, whether it's good or bad, because you don't know how that person will like perceive it, you know? Yeah. I mean, entirely. It's very triggering. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Like I have had so many like people give compliments. I'm like, ew, like, what do you mean by that? Like, do I not normally look good? Like, I don't know. It's like you can, people can mean well. And I think they said the same thing to Jonah Hill where it's like, I don't know. Like they would say certain things about his body, good or bad. And he has so many body issues. He's like, it's harmful either way.
40:14I just don't want you to talk about my body. And like I said, he definitely resents his former fat persona, even though he has now lost so much weight. He knows people really deep down preferred him fat because of super bad and his iconic roles. but he hated himself as a fat person. It's like a really sad conundrum that he's in because even though he lost weight, it's not like people were like, wow, Jonah Hill looks great. Like people were like, ugh, Jonah Hill, what happened? He got so skinny. Like, you know what I mean? Yeah, it's like you love me when I feel the worst about myself because you're also commenting on how I could look better.
40:51You know, it's interesting when you're talking about that. I'm thinking about Claudia Oshry because when I used to listen to The Toast, she would often talk about how growing up because she was always a bit chubbier than her peers or her sisters. She always felt like she had to overcompensate with being funny. And she said that's why I'm very like, say what you want about Claudia Oshiro. She's actually fucking hilarious. And she's like, I had to be like that basically because I was, I felt like I had to overcompensate for my weight. And then now when I'm getting thinner, it's like people don't like it.
41:21Like, I think it's almost like you want to keep that relatability or people feel connected to you because you're relatable in some way. But the second that the weight starts coming off, your identity is in how you're perceived by your large audience. In this case, Jonah Hill's very large audience. People project their own feelings about their weight and body image onto him, and he never asked for it. And I think that we're watering down his concerns because, unfortunately, he's a man. But like I can't even tell you like when I was in eating disorder clinics and stuff like there were men in the clinic and you would have never known that they struggled.
41:57They seemingly had, quote unquote, they weren't even overweight or thin. They just had what I would perceive as a normal weight for their height. And you just don't know what men go through. And it's so much more taboo for men. So and especially because Jonah Hill, if I look at these pictures of him when he was younger, I mean, he is overweight. I think just objectively that's not a that's not a mean thing to say objectively he was overweight and I think the stark difference is astonishing and I think to be on such a public sphere where your whole bit as part of being funny is also you being overweight it's hard to disconnect the two like Claudia Oshuva was like I'm the funny fat girl like you can't have one with the other yeah exactly that's like such a good comparison I feel like that is how it's kind of like a defense mechanism almost where it's like let me be funny and also make fun of myself and accept this role.
42:50So it will hurt less when other people call me fat or make fun of me. And then it's also like why so many like conventionally attractive, thin, beautiful people like never develop a personality because they can just be pretty and that's fine. Yeah, yeah, no, exactly. It's almost like, let me beat you to the punch because I know you're already thinking that I'm chubby. So let me just acknowledge it and then we can get it out of the way and let's move on. Yeah, totally. And then obviously lots of blind items. Take it with a grain of salt. This is all alleged based on like crazy days and nights or whatever blind item website you subscribe to about him being on Ozempic and also cocaine usage, like I said.
43:31And that's all alleged. No proof of that. But like I said, when I was listening to that podcast, I was like, he sounds like he's on an upper. He sounds really like uppity. But again, it would be noteworthy if a Hollywood A-lister wasn't on those two things. So like, who are we to judge? No, I mean, at this point, I think it's more people are on it than not in Hollywood. Yeah. So. Yeah, exactly. So also, in addition to rumors about his weight loss and ozempic usage, there's also lots of rumors about his being an asshole and being unpleasant. Like you said, when you were at what hotel was it? Oh, the Parker.
44:11Oh, the Parker. Yeah. So there were, you know, there was someone who had a bad interaction with him. And there are a lot of people that have said that he is not very nice in person. And in 2014, he apologized for using a homophobic slur against a photographer. He told this paparazzi to suck my dick, you F slur. After the paparazzi had been antagonizing him. and another blind item said he made the rounds apologizing for using a homophobic slur over the weekend. He says it was an error in judgment, and the tabloids are seemingly on board with his apology. I wonder if they would be so tolerant if they knew this was not the first time he used the word or used it in anger.
44:50A couple of years ago, right before the release of 21 Jump Street, Jonah and some of his friends were walking past the laugh factory and some apartments, and he got into a yelling match with some people on a balcony overlooking the street. Jonah's final retort was, shut up, F-slur, because I've got more money than you'll ever have. He then walked away. No one caught it on tape and recorded it, so he doesn't have to make the rounds apologizing. Just goes to show you that it wasn't just a random word he pulled out of his vocabulary over the weekend. For it to come out that easily shows he has used it before.
45:17I'm guessing he probably says it a lot. Yeah, I'm not. But he was busted this time. Yeah. Yeah, not. It reminds me of the creepy-ass Morgan Wallen using the N-slur with a hard R. And everyone's like, well, clearly this is part of your everyday vocabulary yeah if it came out that easily yeah yeah yep um also rumors that he is rude slash difficult to work with this is another blind item from 2023 despite what you might think about this permanent a-list mostly movie actor who is an oscar winner slash nominee he told everyone a decade ago that the comic actor slash former co-star is an awful human being nothing's changed since then and it's speculated this is about brad pitt saying that say what you will about Brad Pitt also he's no angel either sweetheart yeah but he apparently said that Jonah Hill was an asshole they were in Moneyball together so um he said that he was really difficult to work with and just an asshole um okay so let's talk about his relationships I think you'll get a kick out of this one in 2012 there were rumors that Rita Ora cheated on Rob Kardashian with Jonah Hill.
46:22What? That is the most random. I remember, actually, when Rita Ora and Rob Kardashian dated. And I remember he was totally bent out of shape when they broke up. Like, I feel like that's when the spiral, there's probably a lot of other contributing factors, obviously, because he was living in Khloe Lamar's house, which, interestingly enough, yesterday, Sophie and I talked about that on the Patreon and, like, some tea we knew about what was going on in the inner workings of that house when Khloe and Lamar were dating and Rob was living there. But Rita Ora, that's so random. Also, Rita Ora's architectural digest of her English London cottage is like one of my favorites.
47:01Yeah, and her... Oh, no. Oh, my God. I just mixed her up with Lily Allen in my mind. Lily Allen's Brooklyn Brownstone with David Harbour. They're different people. Sorry. But yeah, I know you made it. Just like cool AD homes with very chic, chic women. Yes. And she's English, right? British. So yeah, they're both British. In 2019, Jonah Hill was engaged to Gianna Santos, but broke up in 2020. He said after the breakup, that transcendental meditation and surfing had helped him cope with stress, anxiety, and depression. So once again, he's very open about struggling with depression and anxiety. He is now married and has two sons with Olivia Miller.
47:51And he says on Smart Less that since becoming a husband slash dad, he's happier than ever and feels like doing comedy again because he's not depressed anymore like he was when he wanted to quit comedy. And they live in San Diego now. Like I said, he said he wanted to escape L.A. He grew up in L.A. So he was like, I've done my time in L.A. I love how no one in San Diego cares who I am or that he's famous. He says he has like really normal friends that like literally don't care who he is. So he got his happy ending. But in 2023, I'm sure you remember this, the abuse allegations. So his ex-girlfriend, a professional surfer, mind you, Sarah Brady, alleged that the actor was emotionally abusive and a misogynist narcissist.
48:36They had dated in 2021 after his broken engagement from his ex-fiance. say. And she posted infamous text message screenshots from him. And these went mega, mega, mega viral this time. So here is the screenshot that went the most viral. Plain and, and this is from Jonah, plain and simple. If you need surfing with men, boundaryless inappropriate friendships with men to model, to post pictures of yourself in a bathing suit, to post sexual pictures, friendships with women who are in unstable places and from your wild recent past beyond getting a lunch or coffee or something respectful. I am not the right partner for you.
49:12If these things bring you to a place of happiness, I support it and there will be no hard feelings. These are my boundaries for a romantic partnership. My boundaries with you based on the ways these actions have hurt our trust. So this is obviously incredibly controlling behavior. She's a professional surfer. So she was like, like she'd be surfing. There would be men around. she would post pictures of herself in a bathing suit because she's a surfer. And he did not like that. And I think it also is an example of a nefarious person weaponizing therapy buzzwords like boundaries. And I liked there was a tweet from just a random social media user who said, my therapist honestly changed my life when he stopped me from saying someone was violating my boundaries.
49:59and explained that boundaries are values you impose on yourself and your own behavior, not rules you can enforce on other people. Right. So I completely agree with that. Right. That's a great distinction. Yeah. And so Sarah Brady wrote, this is a warning to all girls. If your partner is talking to you like this, make an exit plan. Call me if you need an ear.
50:22And yeah, there were other text messages from Hill asking her to take down surfing photos from her Instagram with her ass in a thong, even though it's just like a bathing suit. After Brady said that she deleted all the posts, the Superbad star allegedly told her it was a good start, but she didn't seem to get his point. It's not my place to teach you. I've made my boundaries clear. You refuse to let go of some of them and you've made that clear and I hope it makes you happy. So incredibly, incredibly controlling. She also posted on Instagram, I hope my ex has a daughter. Maybe she'll turn him into a real feminist because the fact that he calls himself a feminist now is laughable, which, by the way, he has two sons, so did not end up having a daughter.
51:01Maybe he still might. She also posted someone being an emotionally abusive partner doesn't mean they're a terrible person. It often stems from their own trauma. And at the same time, it doesn't mean it's OK. And I think this is really interesting because it's like Jonah Hill is so we know that he is insecure because of what he's been through, been called, you know, the fat guy and probably been weight shamed his entire life. He says he was bullied as a child, but she's like, it doesn't make it okay you know yeah yeah i mean 100 and also i think i'm also reading like these text messages that she posted basically explaining her and jonah's like their relationship that he had and how she said like the worst part is he blamed it all on his mental health which of course i was empathetic to as i have bipolar type 1 myself but he was so fixated on psychotherapy and acted like he was the authority on the subject between the two of us that's also so mansplaining it's like okay we may suffer i don't know if he's ever confirmed whether or not he has bipolar type 1 And this is just what she shared in the screenshot.
51:55But it sounds like he's like, hey, listen, we both have mental health issues. But trust me, I know exactly what it means to be bipolar or what it is to struggle mentally. And you're going to listen to me. Let me tell you exactly how I'm going to therapize you because I'm the knowledgeable person on this subject. Exactly. Don't tell me how to navigate my own therapy or how to like speak to myself with love and kindness. Like you're on your journey. I'm on mine. You don't need to mansplain your journey and project it onto me, please. Totally, totally. And sexual violence sociologist Nicole Badera tweeted, women are not required to live smaller lives because a boyfriend is jealous.
52:29That's controlling. And that's what it comes down to. He was trying to make her feel and be smaller instead of just accepting that she is a professional server. Like, you knew who she was when you started dating her. And this, obviously, like I said, it went so viral and, like, became, like, kind of a meme. and then also started such a toxic discourse with misogynists and men. And if there's one thing you want, it's Candace Owens defending you. Conservative pundit Candace Owens supported him on Twitter, writing, there's literally nothing wrong with Jonah Hill's leaked text messages regarding what he wants in a partner.
53:06She stated, there's plenty wrong with women in society today, accusing insecure women of mislabeling basic respect for your partner as misogyny. and there were also blind items that jonah got bots to defend him online uh yeah so believe that take that with a grain of salt obviously because it's from crazy days and nights but it says this a list comic actor is not only using bots to help him in his war against his ex but is also using them to trash her too and said and then during the same month so 2023 23, former child actress Alexa Nicholas accused Jonah of shoving her against a door and kissing her without her consent during a party at Justin Long's house when she was 16 years old and he was 24.
53:51I 100 % remember this in the Justin Long of it all. Not him catching straights. I'm sorry, Justin Long has always given me very nefarious energy. I agree. I agree. I completely agree. There's something nefarious about him. I can't put my finger on what it is, but he's nefarious. And also he, I'm sorry, his relationship with Kate Bosworth, they think they're so like iconic because they think that they're like millennial like goals. It's like nothing about you is millennial goals. I think both of you are weird. Yeah. I completely, completely agree. And he's disarming because he's not the most attractive.
54:24I'm not saying he's ugly, but he's not a sex symbol by any means. He's not conventionally like attractive. Yeah. Yeah. Like he was always kind of playing the nerdy, pale, dark haired guy in like 90s movies. So I bet him and Jonah have a very similar psychology of like we were always the supporting actors, but never the leading man, the guy that the girls were fawning over. Yeah, totally. Totally. Justin Long grosses me out. Sorry. I don't like him either. So, yeah, she alleged to Business Insider that Hill Long—remember, she's 16 at the time and they're in their 20s— Disgusting. that they were supplying her with alcohol the entire night and stated that what Hill did to her was a crime.
55:00A litigation attorney working for Hill called Nicholas's accusations a complete fabrication, stating that the event never happened and that Nicholas is demonstrably unreliable and a serial accuser. A representative for Long said that he has no knowledge of what may or may not have happened concerning Miss Nicholas. And then Alexa Nicholas, she was a child actress on Nickelodeon during the Dan Snyder era. And she talks about, you know, trauma from that era of her childhood. She also this is just off topic, but she's kind of been in the news recently because I don't know if you know anything about this.
55:37she recently sued and won. I mean, they settled, but like she kind of won against NBC journalist Kat Tenbarge because Kat Tenbarge accused her of like leaking confidential information against Drake Bell and like doxing Drake Bell's minor victim, which Alexa alleged never happened. And she ended up being, again, like, we don't know, like, what their settlement was. But Kat Tenbarge retracted her claims and publicly apologized. Oh, interesting. So she was, like, maybe talking about Drake Bell and the sexual abuse that he has to say at the hands of Brian. What's his name? It had to do with Drake Bell also, like, accusations against him.
56:27Dan Snyder. Oh, gotcha. It had to do with accusations against Drake Bell. So Kat accused Alexa of having disclosed, sealed slash confidential court and police records, disclosed information identifying a minor sexual abuse victim, used those materials to attack slash discredit the victim, and received or disseminated material that Alexa maintained was actually obtained legally through public records requests. And like I said, it was kind of proven, quote unquote, that she did none of those things. And Kat Tenbarge was being a very irresponsible journalist and was held accountable for it. Yeah.
57:02So that is just an interesting sidebar about Alexa Nicholas because this just happened in June that they settled. Nothing makes you appreciate good bedding more than a hot August night. 1:00:26Chat GPT.com by selecting work mode available on Plus and Pro Plans. Okay. Whew. Sorry. I know that was a random side. That's a whole other rabbit hole to go down. But let's circle back to the Smartless interview that just came out in May, 2026, where he comes across as incredibly obnoxious slash insecure. Again, like I listened to it and I was like, you know, like it's not that bad. Like people in the comments were like, this guy is so fucking unlikable. And I'm like, he is. But at the same time, it's like, I don't know. it's kind of like expected out of him. Yeah. Like, yeah, he is so deeply insecure.
1:01:02And so and it sounds like now like he maybe he's overcompensating. That's why he sounds so cocky at times during this interview where he's like, yeah, like I was so fucking famous. And like Marty, Marty Scorsese is one of my best friends. Like, but he is deep down so insecure and it's so obvious, you know? Yeah. He claimed that he took up Brazilian jujitsu a while back for his health and mental health issues. And he said, my favorite thing is people are like, oh, Jonah Hill, fucking fat guy from Superbad. And I'm like, I would fucking annihilate you, dude. I'm not kidding you. Try it. If you see me, try it, dude.
1:01:39Bring it. Who's got it? Yeah, he has a lot. It's so funny because I think that if he's so as immersed in therapy culture as he proclaims to be, it seems like he's, rather than just letting, obviously it's way easier to have something done and I can't even imagine how much scrutiny and how much damage that can do psychologically to your brain. But I think probably any therapist would advise like the best thing for you to do is to not clap back and to not internalize these comments. Like you know exactly who you are, you are safe at whatever weight you are, you don't need to internalize whatever people are projecting on to you about their frankly their own weights like let it go but he's for someone who purports to be an expert at therapy and psychology it seems like he's not fully grounded in himself still and i'm not saying like he should be because like no one none of us can really understand what that psychologically can do to a person at that scale of fame i don't know how i would manage honestly but i totally he just seems to be such an expert at this that i would hope it would be a little bit more you know yeah and yeah like we have no idea how uh psychologically damaging that can be to be publicly scrutinized the way that he has someone who already has body image issues like pre-fame he said he was getting bullied for his weight then he becomes famous the whole world is talking about his weight it's like i can imagine that has been incredibly traumatic for him and he has his coping mechanisms.
1:03:04And he clearly has some sort of like control issues based on those text messages with his ex-girlfriend. Yeah, he's just such an interesting person. But it's funny with these Brazilian jujitsu comments, people actually like found clips or he posted clips of him doing Brazilian jujitsu. And people are like, he's not even good. Like his form is really bad. His form is so bad. He's clearly playing with someone who's like, yeah, sure. You're doing great, Jonah. He's a they're like, he's a white belt. Like, he's not even like that. Yeah. And he's like, come mess with me. Call me fat again. Yeah. He's like, I will annihilate you.
1:03:45And they're like, no, you wouldn't. Like, you actually wouldn't. Yeah. I'm looking at that. Oh, my God. It's so funny. He has a white belt. He looks like he's a white belt. Oh, God. So, yeah. Uh, that is the snark on Jonah Hill. What are your thoughts, Christy? I mean, I think he seems like he would be an ass to service workers, which, like I said at the top of the episode, I've confirmed from someone who's had a firsthand account with him. Yep. I do certainly empathize with the position he's been put in with his weight and how people have. And again, when he got famous with Superbad, we weren't really talking about weight and body and mental health in the way that we are now.
1:04:28I can't even imagine being the poster child for people to project all their insecurities about their own weight onto you. He never asked for that. It seems like just based on his body, he just seems like his body type lends itself to a bigger, like a bigger-ish body. And I'd imagine like it's probably tough for him to, you know, have to consistently keep his weight down. And that's emotionally and physically exhausting. And I definitely have some empathy for him. I think it's good that he's out of the spotlight and a little bit more behind the camera he's producing. he's writing that seems where he could find a lot more joy yeah but i completely agree and i think that like i said he doesn't like to be perceived and so it's like even even like i'm sure it's been difficult for him to have his movies that he's written get bad reviews like that recent one with keanu reeves um but i feel like he would rather be critiqued for his body of work than his body, you know?
1:05:23And yeah, he seems again on this podcast, like even though there's still that deep insecurity there where he's talking about like annihilating people with jujitsu, he does seem slightly more grounded and happy genuinely. He just he sounds really excited to be a dad and to be a husband and to be just writing more. He says that he pinches himself every day that he gets to wake up and like write jokes for a living. So he sounds like he is way happier behind the scenes. I am curious. I know that like 24 Jump Street, he is currently writing that or that has been in the works. I'm sure he will reprise his role as Schmidt.
1:06:01I think his name is in the movie. Yeah. So we will probably see him back on our screens. But yeah, I mean, there is like you said, I think that's perfectly sad that like you can say this guy is problematic in many ways and has done problematic things but at the same time you do have empathy for like what he's been through yeah and i think that's like the case with so many of our subjects that we talk about on snark bait it's like this is no angel either sweetheart but like i also empathize with what they've been through you know oh my god yeah it's for what he's gone through it's not for the weak hearted i certainly could not have gone through that like that macro fame being looked at under a microscope and having your body picked apart.
1:06:42And simply because he is a man, the conversation is less forgiving. Like people are more willing to go into him simply. Like the way in which we talked about his weight, although we were horrible to women in their bodies, I don't think we would have talked about his weight and like women's weight in the same way we were talking about Jonah Hill's weight. It's totally different. I don't know though. Like I feel like he does have, like yes, I agree that like men's body image issues and eating disorders are not, there's still so much stigma around them. Stigma, it's not as recognized, yep. But Jonah Hill did have the privilege of being like not convention.
1:07:13And we were talking about this with Olivia in our group chat. To have the privilege to not be conventionally attractive and still be an A-list actor. That like women don't get that privilege. I remember Paige DeSorbo when I used to be a giggler. She was like, it sucks when all those allegations about Jonah Hill and Sarah Brady. When he all those text messages came out. Paige was like, you know, I always like the problematic eyes. Like because she liked Armie Hammer. He came out as cannibal. She liked Jonah Hill. he came out as a maniac. And she was like, but it's like, girls like Paige the Sorbel will be into you because you're funny.
1:07:44Because you're funny. Women are attracted to humor. Yeah, but women don't get, like, female celebrities don't get to achieve the same level of fame if they're unattractive. Like, Jonah got to be not, and not saying that Jonah Hill is ugly, but it means obviously he's funny, so people are going to be attracted to him regardless, but he's not conventionally attractive. He doesn't have movie star good looks. So it's just, it is, there is a level of privilege to it also where it's like, you should be happy that you have become this successful while not having movie star good looks because women are not afforded the same privilege.
1:08:18No, that is a great distinction. I think, yes, men's bodies aren't, the stigma of eating disorders and body image is less real, quote unquote real for men. But you're right. If you were unattractive, unattractive as a woman, it's so, the barrier to entry is so much higher. Yeah, it's curtains. you're done you're done um but yeah curious what you guys think about jonah hill what are your thoughts on him after listening to this you listen to the smart less podcast uh let us know curious what your thoughts are per usual and thank you for being here always we love you so much and tomorrow our sub stack goes out every friday that link is in our show notes yesterday on the Patreon.
