In short
Snarkbait episode recaps Scheana Shay’s life and career, using excerpts from her newly released memoir. It covers her upbringing, identity struggles, early entertainment work, celebrity hookups, and major Vanderpump Rules turning points, including the Eddie Cibrian/Brandi Glanville scandal that helped spark the show, her relationships (Mike Shay, Rob Valletta), and later VPR controversies (Brock Davies cheating scandal, plus “facepalm” moments).
Guest backgrounds
Hosts are Sophie and Christy. They present as long-time Vanderpump Rules “historians/scholars,” referencing prior Patreon work and their researcher Olivia who read Scheana’s memoir.
Key claims
Scheana was born Sheena Marie Jankin (May 7, 1985) in West Covina, raised in Azusa, and is half Mexican; she faced bullying and felt she didn’t fit in. She worked at a cigar lounge where she met Eddie Cibrian and John Mayer; she claims she didn’t know Eddie was married. She says she helped tip off tabloids about Eddie and Brandi, and that this publicity helped launch Vanderpump Rules. She claims John Mayer cut her off after a leak, and that her later husband Mike Shay had substance abuse issues she discovered during filming. She also claims Rob Valletta dumped her after filming.
Notable examples
Quentin Tarantino, Mariah Carey, Sylvester Stallone, Johnny Knoxville; Ariana Grande on Victorious; Scheana’s Hooters hidden-camera scandal; freezing eggs; and Lisa Vanderpump allegedly using her as an “errand runner”/narrative tool.

Buckle up because this one is a long one but juicy one. And we're going to be talking about Sheena's early life, her acting gigs, her celebrity hookups, Eddie Cibrian, Jesse Metcalf, John Mayer, her stint on the hills and various other shows.
1:45VPR beginnings, her relationship history with Mike Shea, her first husband, Rob Parks Valetta, her single Sheena era, her most facepalm worthy VPR moments. We're also talking the Brock Davies relationship and the cheating scandal. And so many other things. I am so excited for you guys to listen to this one. Sophie did an incredible job running us through it. And you guys are going to learn a lot. So are you ready, Sophie? Yeah, let's get into it. Do it.
2:29Hi, Christy. Hey, Sophie. How are you? I am good. How are you? Oh, you know, just the same old thing. I mean, we've just been talking all day today. This is our third episode recording of the day. So, you know, there's not much to really no updates. There's not really much updates since I talked to you about five minutes ago. But what I will say about today is I am so excited to go over this person because I feel like all of us are historians on Sheena Shea and no better person to walk us through than you, to be honest. Yeah, yeah. It's very timely given the fact that her memoir has just recently dropped.
3:16And the great news actually is I am a historian on Sheena. Actually, our first correspondence, Christy, was like back in 2022. There's a screenshot on our Instagram because we did a Patreon episode about the backstory of Snarkbait. but it was you inviting me on to talk about something Vanderpump related back in 2022. And I was like, oh, I'm a Vanderpump scholar, obviously. And you're like, yeah, I know. So really? I saw that. That's funny. So I am a scholar, but the great news is that Olivia, our researcher, did the Lord's work and actually read Sheena's memoir. So we will be talking about some insider tea from her book, some excerpts from her book.
4:02And yeah, I guess let's just like jump into it because there's so much to cover. Yeah, I'm ready. Let's do it. So Sheena Shea was born Sheena Marie Jankin, May 7th, 1985 in West Covina, California. And I always think it's so interesting. It's so Sheena that she kept the name Sheena Shea after divorcing her first husband, mic shape because it sounds good. It sounds good. Yeah, I completely agree. There's nothing more Sheena than this. There really isn't. When her mom was 18, just some backstory and how Sheena was raised because it is relevant. Just like we just recorded an episode on, can I say it, Harry Jousey.
4:45And we talk about how his upbringing definitely informs who he becomes. And this is definitely the case with Sheena. When Sheena's mom was 18, she was casually dating two men named Raul and Ron and got pregnant accidentally by Raul. Wow. And Raul wasn't very interested in becoming a father, but Ron was. So Ron stepped up to the plate. Ron became her father figure, even though he wasn't her biological father. And she refers to Ron as her dad, Raul as her biological father, who she didn't meet, by the way, until she was two. and to Raul's credit, he showed up for a lot of big life events, but took a step back and allowed Ron to become her full-time dad, which he was.
5:34And she was raised by two loving parents in Azusa, which is in the San Gabriel Valley region of LA. Are you familiar? Yeah. Yes. Yes. It's more like inland, but yes, it's just a part of Los Angeles. Yeah. So again, she had a nice childhood. She actually skipped the third grade because she was so smart. But things changed in middle school. She struggled with the fact that she didn't look like her parents. And, you know, she was half Mexican. So having to hide that part of her. And it's really interesting because I feel like we don't. The fact that Sheena is half Mexican is not really discussed ever on Vanderpump.
6:14That's the first time I've ever heard this. Yeah. So her opening up about this in her book is it's really interesting. And it shows a different side of Sheena. I think that the memoir, having seen some of these excerpts and learning more about what she shares in the book, it really explains a lot about her and shows a different side of her, which is exactly what a memoir should do. Her good side. Get it? I got it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, that makes a lot of sense. And that is really interesting because I feel like and as I see later in your notes, she went to a predominantly Mexican high school.
6:50But it's like you're not Mexican enough to be with the Mexican girls. You're not white enough to be with the white girls. You have this like identity struggle for sure. Yeah, she felt like she didn't fit in with either group. And I feel like that's a common thing that people of mixed race talk about, that they feel like they don't fit in with this group of people for her. She was like, my parents are blonde with blue eyes. Like I don't fit in with my predominantly Mexican classmates, but then I also, I am half Mexican too. So I don't fully fit in with all of the blonde hair, blue eyed people. And she says that she faced a lot of bullying and mean girls growing up.
7:27And it seems like this is kind of like a theme in Sheena's life is that she's always kind of on the outside looking in at clicks of girls. We see this on Vanderpump Rules. She actually got death threats sent to her via pager. Oh my God, TPT. And oh my God, pager. Like, and also that's typing on like a pager or sending a pager message was not like an easy thing to do. You have to like go out of your way to do that. And how long would that take? Because it wasn't, I mean, I've never owned a pager, but isn't it just a single or two buttons? That's what I've envisioned. Like, yes, from what I remember about pagers.
8:00And she even got in a physical fight with a girl in eighth grade. She graduated Bishop Amat Memorial High School in 2002 and got a bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis on broadcast journalism from Azusa Pacific University in 2006. And she was actually the first person in her family to get a college degree. And from an early age, she knew she wanted to work in entertainment. She began working as a bartender slash server while auditioning in Hollywood. She wanted to brush shoulders with the who's who to try and level up. And I feel like that's, you know, a common, a tale as old as time.
8:36These struggling actors will become bartenders, waiters. That was like the premise of Vanderpump Rules when it first premiered. This is interesting, and I actually did not know this. When she was in college in 2004, she applied to work at Hooters, and the owner at the time filmed her changing into the Hooters uniform, actually had like a hidden camera in the changing area. And this was like a major scandal. And she became, he actually filmed over 80 women and most were teens at the time using this hidden camera. These women eventually sued and she became kind of like a spokesperson for the victims in the lawsuit and appeared in a ton of press that you can find very easily and was actually represented by Gloria Allred, which is crazy.
9:25I didn't know any of this. Sheena has so much lore that like I actually just had no idea about. She's lived a lot of lives. And I think she's yeah, she's lived many lives. And it makes me she is multidimensional. I will give her that. Like I shit on her a lot. But I do think that she she has a lot of character. Like, yeah, we can't say she's boring, you know? No, she is anything but boring. She was born for reality TV. As much as we will pick her apart in this episode and and there is a lot to criticize about her. like she just again like you said she's lived so many lives she's very interesting and that brings us to her celeb hookups of which there are many so after graduating college in 2006 she was freshly 21 ready to take on LA so she started working at this members only cigar lounge slash restaurant where a lot of like big celebs directors writers actors hung out she started working there you like to make connections to network.
10:25And some of the men she served were Quentin Tarantino, my birthday twin, by the way, along with Vicki Gunn-Wolson and Mariah Carey. Sylvester Stallone and Johnny Knoxville. You're like, let's keep going. I'm sorry. I just think it's really interesting that my birthday twins are all like, it says so much about being born on March 27th. Anyway, Chris was like, shut the fuck up and keep going. This is where she met Eddie Cibrian and John Mayer. And where Vanderpump Rules came to be. Yes. And it's like so interesting. Obviously, we know that Vanderpump Rules would not exist without Eddie Cibrian. But Vanderpump Rules would also not exist without John Mayer.
11:09It's so... Wait, you mean Eddie Cibrian? Eddie Cibrian. Both of them. Oh, right. It would not exist without both of them. So... And this is why. let's start with Eddie Cibrian so this is the affair that really put Sheena into the tabloids got her a lot of attention so Eddie he is so fucking great he's such a fucking slime ball by the way I remember this when this all happened so vividly he frequented the lounge to play poker and she says that he was like exactly her type tall dark handsome dimples he never wore a wedding it would constantly make eyes at her according to Sheena. And she says she didn't know he was famous.
11:51She never looked him up. Didn't have the internet on her phone at the time. Didn't own a laptop. And I actually do believe this because he wasn't like he was Z-list, you know, like he had been in Hallmark movies and shit. I feel like like he was not he was not a recognizable actor. I'm trying to think. So it's 2006. I'm trying to think about where I was in my life. This is like when MySpace was a big thing. Was Prez Hilton a big thing at this time in 2006? Yeah, it was. Okay, so then at this point, I know I don't believe her. No, but like we were using like desktop computers. Like she said she didn't have a computer.
12:26Like she would go to an internet cafe to check her email for auditions. Like I kind of, I don't know. Part of me does believe her a little bit, but maybe I'm just being naive. Maybe I'm doing that. No, I don't think, no, I don't think so. Cause like we were still like on the internet, like doing stuff for like homework. And you know, like we were very much, even though it wasn't online, of like our literal fingertips, we were still very much. I'm like, I was using AOL Instant Messenger when I was in elementary school. You know what I mean? Like, I don't believe this. Yeah. But I am famously, you guys, one thing about me is that I am a she-shoe defender.
12:55I have defended her for a really long time. Since like 2013. I've always been a Sheena defender. Okay, sue me. And you know what? I think the reason Sheena grinds my gear so much is because I know I'm similar to her. Not like for all these things, but just thirsty. Like I know that I am very thirsty and I'll own that. Yeah. And like sometimes I do need to make everything about myself. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. So I think that's why I don't like her because I'm like, she triggers the parts of me that I dislike the most. And I think genuinely that's why she's triggering for a lot of people because she's like this mirror to your worst traits.
13:30And like case in point, me being like Quentin Tarantino has the same birthday as me. That was such a Sheena thing for me to do. I have to make it about myself. Anyway. so he would play poker at the cigar club and they started going out for drinks together and they started hooking up and they were actually photographed by paparazzi which also was surprising because again I think you know what you're right if he was being photographed by paparazzi he was recognizable enough at that time right exactly I mean why were paps even following him he definitely called them on himself that's that's probably true but apparently he didn't really like seem to care that paparazzi and maybe it was him like trying to sabotage his marriage at the time because as we know he he was quick to get out of that marriage but she it never crossed her mind that he was married she checked his imdb to see what projects he was in but you know imdb did not signify that he was married she also started to see and i feel like they kind of have a similar vibe jesse metcalf from desperate housewives and john tucker must die the relationship ended up fizzling out.
14:39It wasn't anything super serious, but I remember when this excerpt of her book dropped, the fact that she had hooked up with all these celebrity men, we will talk about more of them. But Jesse Metcalf was like, yeah, like I'm happy for Sheena's success. It's, it's, you know, it's clearly the, I guess this is a story worth telling for her. It's not a story that like is worth telling for me. It was a really long time ago. You would never see me again. And I remember. You would never see me again. You would literally never see me again. Like how humiliating. Jesse Metcalfe, he dated Courtney Robertson too, I think from The Bachelor.
15:16And she did a memoir. Jordan, can you please fact check me on that? Courtney Robertson, Jesse Metcalfe. But I'm trying, I'm misremembering if it was him or Adrian Grenier. Yes. Okay. Jesse Metcalfe. She, Courtney Robertson describes Jesse Metcalfe in her book, not here to make friends, which actually was such a juicy Bachelor memoir, how he was such a fucking player. Like he was horrible to her. So Jesse Metcalf, he's just fucking around. Like he likes a dark haired, pretty woman. But still, regardless, humiliating. Also the fact that like he had a very promising career at one point. Desperate Housewives was honestly one of my favorite shows.
15:52And John Tucker Must Die, a classic. I don't think I've ever seen it. Isn't that crazy? Oh my God, Christy, you have to see it. Oh my God. Oh my God. It's like such a fucking classic. We need to. I think maybe we add that to our list of like snark bait movies that we can do live chats for. Yeah. Down.
16:13So my toxic trait is that I always let work around the house slide a little bit in the summer. I'm just so busy and so is Henry, but that's why we love TaskRabbit, whether it's for mounting TVs. They do it in under seven minutes. you guys very often building furniture or plunging a clogged toilet. Yes, seriously, true story. And no, I'm not embarrassed. TaskRabbit skilled taskers are always there to help with whatever I need, often available same day. 17:40Okay. So Eddie and Sheena started to get serious and Eddie even helped Sheena move into her new apartment. What? Her mom met her friends, but she never went to his house and she didn't find it that weird because he lived all the way in Calabasas, which was far away. Which is far. Yeah. That's annoying. Yeah. Okay. I don't, I don't know, but I believe you guys. Yeah. Californians, but she was young. She felt like she was falling in love with him, but then obviously things took a turn. One night at the cigar lounge member came up to her and told her Eddie was married. she confronted him about it and said no that's insane like did not believe him but a few months later her mom called and said that she was reading the newspaper and it said that eddie and his wife brandy glanville were expecting their second child soon so brandy glanville was pregnant and she called him and he apologized and started giving like the typical cheating husband excuses saying that he was he was planning on leaving her blah blah blah said she and she said she never one to see him again, but they ended up hooking up again after this.
18:40So she hooked up with him after she found out that he was married and expecting another child. At this point, it's the end of 2008. She is now 23 and Eddie is 35. Oh, that is wild to think about because watching Vanderpump rules, you just because we were younger, we just assumed Sheena was so much older. She was 23. Yeah, she was a little baby. Well, not when Vanderpump started. She was around 26-ish when they started filming Vanderpump. 26, 27-ish. But yeah, at this time, they still are hooking up, even though she knows at this point that he's married. They say, I love you to each other. But enter Leanne Rimes.
19:21They were on a trip together, and she saw that Leanne Rimes was calling his phone. And a month later, it comes out in the tabloids that Eddie had an affair with Leanne. Sheena was pissed, wanted to get revenge on Eddie. and so she basically, her and her friends tip off the tabloids that Eddie and Sheena were still singing each other because they wanted to piss off Leigh-Anne, even though it wasn't true. Oh my God. And the whole debacle made headlines and ultimately put Vanderpump Rules in motion. That's history right there. I mean, it kind of reminds me of people that just want it so badly, like fame, they will put themselves in situations or like plant things in the tabloids.
20:08You know what I'm thinking about is when Alex Cooper, when she was dating Noah Syndergaard, when she called Paps on herself, allegedly Sophia with an F claims to be photographed in a restaurant with Noah and like people, they just want it. You know, it's like they will go at all lengths and they have, you have to have zero shame if you want to keep going in this industry. You just got to go for it. Yeah. And like once I feel like once you get a taste of it, if you're like, I'm sure it's addicting. I'm sure. Okay. So here enters John Mayer. Are you a John Mayer fan, Christy? Dude, I was obsessed with him.
20:42I've seen him in concert probably five times. Yes. I used to love him. I've kind of fallen off, but yeah, I love Continuum is like his best album ever. I love like so many of his albums. I think like all of them, honestly. And if you're an OG Twitter follower of mine, you remember that he actually was my Twitter cover photo for like years and years and years. Iconic. And like people would be like, he's problematic, like blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, I know, but I just like loved him. Me too. So this is like a flex. And it wasn't just what's interesting about Sheena and John Mayers. I always thought it was just like a hookup, like a quick little fling.
21:18They actually saw each other for a really long time. What? Not a really long time, but like at least six months. Oh my God. I totally thought that he was interested in Stacey and they just had a threesome once. I didn't realize it was an affair. No. So John also was a member of this cigar place and she worked his birthday party in 2008. And this was actually when he was with Jen Aniston, but they broke up soon after. And he went to the lounge one night and he actually had his friend ask for Sheena's number. They hung out later that night at her apartment. Some of Sheena's friends came over too.
21:51They drank together. He played songs on the guitar. He was, you know, hanging out all the time now with Sheena and her roommate, Stacey Adams, aka Stacey the bartender from the Hills. Classic. She's just someone who was always at the scene of the crime, you know? Yeah. And Sheena has had an interview that Stacey also had a sexual relationship with John and the three of them were kind of like a throuple. Wait, that's so weird that they were both having sex with the same guy and lived together. So like, how does that work? He comes over, he plays guitar, you guys are drunk, hanging out. Then he goes into your room at the end of the night or to Stacey's room.
22:28That's actually crazy. They were a throuple. I know, crazy. And Sheena does not seem chill enough for that. Not at all. I'm actually shocked this happened. Again, I thought he was always into Stacey and Sheena came in one night. I didn't realize this was a thing. Wow. Yeah. So they were like regularly hooking up for like over six months. And she says that he was really into phone sex and they would talk on the phone like every single day. And word eventually got out that they were seeing each other and the information fell into the wrong hands because you were not, if you worked at the cigar club, you weren't supposed to be hooking up with the members.
23:05Gotcha. And he was a member of this cigar club. I'm getting the New York ones and the LA ones confused, but he was at the cigar club and he was a member. Got it. Sheena didn't realize that she was not allowed to do that. So she was fired. Eddie was not technically a member of the club. So like the rules didn't apply there. Yeah, she could hook up with him. It's fine. But yeah, John Mayer, no. Yeah. And that girl who like leaked the information to the club that Sheena had hooked up with him went to the tabloids and their relationship went public. So John cut Sheena off, stopped talking to her. And yeah, she actually thought it was like John, or no, she was afraid that John thought Sheena blabbed to the press.
23:49And Sheena was like, no, I didn't. Yeah. And she was super pissed about it and decided to do an interview about it to set the record straight, which again is so Sheena, you're so thirsty. She said, it might not have been the best move looking back, but I wasn't a public figure and couldn't afford a publicist in those days. And while I may have been a people pleaser, I wasn't going to let someone walk all over me, not even John Mayer. Oh, I'm looking at this People Magazine 2009. Crazy. We're friends. Marie tells people he's a great guy. He's funny and sweet. Sources say Marie, 23 and May are 31.
24:21Met in 2000 Cigar Club Grand Havana Room. Wow. So funny. It's so funny that she went by Sheena Marie back then. So she actually ends the John Mayer section of the book with a really iconic paragraph. She says, there was a bright side to all of these unfortunate events. If I hadn't been fired from the cigar lounge, I never would have started working at Villa Blanca, which also means that if John and I hadn't hooked up, Vanderpump rules might not exist. So thanks, John Mayer. Oh, yeah. John and Andy Cohen are best friends. It's so funny to think about now, had the fact that Andy Cohen and John Mayer are literally besties.
24:55Yeah, wow. Maybe Andy feels indebted to John. Okay, so after this bout with fame, with these famous men, Sheena decides that she is going to start dating some normies. And she starts seeing a bartender named Colin. He, right before she starts dating Mike Shea, her future husband, he eventually screwed her over by making out with another girl in front of her. So they broke up. She then starts dating her future ex-husband, Mike Shea. And Colin realized he messed up and expressed to Sheena how much he regretted everything. He told her he was super depressed over it. And Sheena was like, yeah, you really hurt me.
25:36And then a week later, he took his own life. Oh, shit. Yeah. So if you remember on Vanderpump Rules, when Tom Sandoval, everyone was worried that Tom Sandoval was going to harm himself. She took that very seriously. And that's why. That really, I can see it through a different lens now, how she reacted. Not that I agree with everything she said during the Scandal Ball era, obviously. But she started working at Villa Blanca after the cigar lounge because her friend from college was a bartender there. She also was acting a little bit. She got some auditions. She landed guest spots on TV shows like Greek, Victorious, 90210.
26:19In her book, she recalls being on the set of Victorious and one of the supporting actors walking around the set singing to herself. and she knows this girl should be in a recording studio or at least the star of the show. That girl was Ariana Grande. She was on to something. Wow. God, she's been around so many people. I know. Like she has so much lore. She was the lead in the Jonas Brothers music video Pizza Girl in 2009. She loves to tell that story, by the way. Yeah. Yeah. She was also in also in 2009 on The Hills, season five, episode three with her friend, Stacey. and she was called her and her friends at that time were called whores and sluts by Stephanie Pratt and Heidi Montag wow and Heidi even admitted to her you guys realize this I don't care this is all for the show yeah it's all for the show and so that's how kind of she approached reality tv because she had that that small amount of experience on the hills where it was like everything was so fake you know it was like we were putting on a show for the camera so then once the cameras turned off like everything was cool right and that was not the case for Vanderpump It was a lot more real.

27:23So she was obsessed with Lisa and Todd when she was working at Villa Blanca. She said that they were very particular perfectionists and she would do like anything to appease them. And then Lisa was hired for Real Houses of Beverly Hills. And eventually Lisa asked Sheena to work at Sur, work a party at Sur. And really quickly, sorry, just for you talking about how she would do anything to appease Lisa and Todd, Ken Todd. Lisa always spoke so fondly about Sheena, but I don't think it's because she necessarily liked Sheena. It's because she knew that Sheena was a puppet that she could manipulate very easily.
28:00Yes, exactly. And Sheena recognizes that later on. But yes, absolutely correct. In July 2011, Sheena is about 26 and she's asked to work a party at Sir along with Sandoval. And Sir was opening this brand new lounge and garden section. They needed some extra help. She says that she had zero suspicion that she was walking into this setup for a spinoff. Like she did not realize. Again, this was fucking history. It's crazy. Yeah. She saw Brandy that night, started freaking out and she tried to avoid her until Lisa told her to get to work and said, go over to those women out there and pass around these old, like she was trying to set it up.
28:45Lisa was producing because she's a producer basically and pointed to Brandy and Sheena explained the situation to Lisa. Lisa acted shocked to find out what was going on, but obviously she knew what was going on. Like she had knowledge of this prior and she's such a fucking bullshitter. She was like, I had no idea that you was sleeping with Brandy's husband, even though everyone at Villa Blanca knew about it, including Pandora, Lisa's daughter. And Sheena speculates that she thinks Lisa was just trying to keep her hands clean while catching both her and Brandi off guard and then also create this empire, which is now Vanderpump Rules.
29:23Of course, of course. And she's also an executive producer on The Valley as well. Lisa Vanderpump. Yeah, she is. Yeah, I mean, she has her grubby little hands in every cookie jar. She really does. By that fall, the SUR staff and some others from Villa Blanca started to film the Vanderpump Rules pilot. And again, she thought it was going to be kind of like The Hills. Like she thought they would be besties when the cameras went down, which obviously was not the case. Vanderpump Rules gets greenlit in 2012 and they start filming that summer. Oh my God, I have chills, Sophie. This is like reality TV gold.
30:00No reality show will ever top this besides Jersey Shore. Like they're like head to head with the best reality TV you'll ever see in your life. This is the founding father signing the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence. It's true. It's true. Absolutely. Totally. Okay. So she is still working at Villa Blanca and Sir part-time and then also filming the show. So she basically has two jobs, three jobs. She says that she's making more money from bartending still than from the show. She is very early on. Like you said, she's Lisa's puppet. And she felt like she was Lisa's favorite because she did whatever she was asked.
30:35Lisa would send Sheena on little errands, even outside of work. She was basically Lisa's assistant without the title. And she would get calls from Lisa every morning when they were filming as Lisa was also an executive producer on the show. And she would give her like suggestions on what the narrative should be. And she did whatever Lisa wanted her to do. What? That's so sick and twisted. Imagine being a woman in her mid to late 40s calling a 26 year old. It's weird. Executive producer or not, that's just weird behavior. Lisa always had such a weird relationship with the servers. Agreed. I was always like, why are you here?
31:13Like, it was just like so weird. Like, why are you so intertwined in all of this? Yeah, just omnipresent, just huddling over everyone. It's so weird. God creature. Yeah, it is weird. I understood it for the premise of like spinning off the show, but then just like go away. You don't, you're not, you're not part of this anymore. It's just weird now. But a turning point happened in season seven when James Kennedy, famously, we all remember, called Katie Maloney fat. Katie brought it up at a staff meeting saying she wanted James fired or she would quit. She basically gave Lisa an ultimatum. Lisa asked Sheena to speak up for James so that she didn't have to fire him.
31:51Sheena did not abide. So this made her relationship with Lisa take a turn because it was like the first time she wasn't doing what Lisa told her to do. Fuck Lisa Vanderpump. In those early seasons of Vanderpump, we all remember how Sheena was kind of like an outsider in the girl group because she was kind of like the new girl. She came from Villa Blanca and they were really mean to her initially also because of her affair with Eddie. Like if you remember, like that was such a central point of why the girls didn't like her, why Stassi and Kristen and Katie didn't like her.
37:31They were like, you sleep with married men. You're disgusting. Oh, I remember. Yes. God, those are the days I need to do a rewatch soon. I really do. Yeah. It was later revealed that Kristen, Stassi and Katie, aka the witches of Weho actually had like secret meetings where they brainstormed how to get Sheena kicked off, quote unquote, their show. This is my show. This is my son. I know. Okay, Jack Sailor. Yeah. So Sheena realized she needed an ally, which is when she begged her BFF Ariana to come over to Sur for season two. And what's interesting is that in her book, Sheena like kind of takes credit for Ariana's professional success.
38:09She says, I promised her we'd have fun together and that it would pay off professionally as well. I guess I was right about that but the thing is with ariana she was so organically herself and not thirsty while on the cameras and that's why people were beloved towards her yeah like people just loved her not in the beginning though i feel like people didn't love ariana in the beginning at least i didn't yeah and i think it was because we didn't like that she was kind of like this boyfriend sealer right but like towards i think when that kind of faded away yeah just knew she was just It's far too normal to be on the show.
38:43But I agree. I'm smarter than you. I'm prettier than you. Get the fuck over it. Yeah, iconic. So enter Mike Shea, Sheena's first husband. They actually knew each other in high school. They went to the same high school. We're both raised Catholic, both very family oriented, had a lot in common, dated for several years. First two years of filming Vanderpump and they became engaged during season two of Vanderpump. he proposed and they got married in California. Her wedding episode is so fucking funny, by the way. I need to rewatch it because I just remember the song starting too early. That's like a core memory.
39:22Iconic, like literally everything went wrong. And that's why it's such an amazing series of episodes. I think it was like two episodes. Yeah, her friend who was the vocalist started singing her walk down the aisle song at the wrong time. The DJ played the wrong entry music for her bridal party, which ruined the coordinated dance. She complained the entire time was yelling at her wedding planner. I remember she was wearing a really bad crop top wedding dress. She made all of her friends clean up the next morning to save money. And also the wedding was on a Sunday night. She also admits in the book that like everyone in her friend group, as we know, dabbled in all the things from weed to Coke to ecstasy.
40:02Shay had a preference for Vicodin and beer combined. Like that was his like winning combination. Those are both downers too. So like that's just a sedation. Yeah. Good point. And you could tell when you watched him, she thought it was normal. She thought maybe he drinks a little too much, but like he doesn't have a problem or anything. And she didn't want to say anything. She didn't want him to get mad or leave her. And I think a lot of like, a lot of what Sheena does is because she's like deeply insecure. Oh, yes. And honestly, a lot of it probably stems from her feeling like a fucking outsider at a young age and her not feeling like she could fit in like this totally makes sense.
40:39Totally. And she even told people, including Katie and Ariana, that she was having cold feet before the wedding. But she thought that was like a normal feeling. Even on their wedding night, she started to wonder if Shay had substance abuse. She didn't want him to black out at the wedding, but he did. And he was actually supposed to perform a song for Sheena at the reception. but didn't end up happening. He later tried to perform it at their after party, but he was so fucked up. And she later figured out that he was so out of it because I guess Sandoval gave him ecstasy instead of Adderall. I remember reading that on the headlines.
41:17Like Sandoval gave my groom ecstasy. My groom. Yeah. There were also some other instances, obviously, where his substance abuse problem was coming out. He took her Vicodin after she had dental surgery. He stole Vicodin from her dad's medicine cabinet. He went missing for days at a time. Something that gets revealed in her book that we had not seen on Vanderpump is that Shay cheated on her. And she discovered it from correspondence first on Twitter and then on his phone. What? And they started filming season five of Vanderpump. The producers knew something was up. Sheena was acting weird. She was worried that viewers would say that she deserved to be cheated on because of the Eddie and Brandi Glanville thing.
41:59So she didn't want to come clean about it. Instead, she told the producers that Shay had an addiction issue. And so - Which is kind of fucked up, actually. If you think about it, it's like, I want to make myself look good and I'm going to control the narrative. So I'm actually going to out your severe mental health issues and your addiction to the world in order to make me seem like I'm this perfect. That's fucked up. yeah that's not up to her to talk about his addiction like that's really dark it was a very dark moment also when she outed his addiction issues and then also told him that she wanted a divorce in that one conversation even the producers didn't see it coming everyone she said the producers jaws were on the ground when she because basically they were supposed to be making it was supposed to be a makeup scene because he went missing took money from her bank account.
42:51Yes. He put the pieces together that he had been buying Adderall and she gave him a chance during this conversation to come clean. And instead he lied. So she was like, I want a divorce. I remember when they were in that apartment, that like janky apartment with all of their wedding photos, the blown up wedding photos, the blown up wedding photos over their bedroom. How could I forget? Oh my gosh. I know. I know. This is juicy, dude. Oh my God. I'm so glad we're going through this. I'm like seriously shook. There's a lot of really good tea. So they end up divorcing. They have a pretty amicable divorce and she is, she's pretty nice about him in the book.
43:26So I would be too, if I fucking out of my ex-husband's addiction on national TV. I know. Oh my God. Okay. So now on to Rob Valletta. You can hang out TV in seven minutes. Robert Parks Valletta, an actor slash model, a mactor, if you will. That's what we call them. They had dated casually years before, before Shay, and they reconnected in 2016 toward the end of her marriage with Shay, which is crazy. 2016, that's crazy. But that was like, it feels like yesterday, but it also feels like a long, I don't know. I just can't make sense of that. So she says in her book that she still thought about Rob during her marriage with Shay.
44:05She was like, oh my God, this is the one that got away. On her wedding day even, she said, And when I was worried that I had cold feet, I recall wondering how my life would have played out if I'd ended up with Rob. She was like so obsessed with him. And that much was made clear on the show. Absolutely. So once she was finally divorced, she headed straight to Rob. She said she hadn't really processed her divorce fully before like jumping into this relationship. Rob didn't like Vanderpump Rules. He didn't like filming. She offered to quit the show to be with him, but he wouldn't let her. Eventually he was okay with it and agreed to film.
44:38And we see in the show how like she is way more into him than he's into her. And while filming, Katie and Brittany tell her they saw him making out with someone at a restaurant. Sheena thought it was weird because Rob doesn't engage in PDA, you know? She saw someone. We saw someone making out with Rob at Toca Madera. He doesn't even kiss me. No, no, no, no, no, no. Oh my God. She was so delusional about him. And she confronts Rob about it. And he was like, this is why I didn't want to be on Vanderpump. And so Sheena was so scared to lose him that she like kind of looked past it and started to overcompensate.
45:13And she would just ramble about how amazing he was. We all remember it. It was definitely like in season six, the montage of, I think it was season six, the montage of her talking about how amazing he is about how he hangs a TV in seven minutes. Rob, Rob, Rob. Oh my God. Rob, Rob. And she wanted to name their daughter, famously Madison Marie Parks Valetta. she would say, I love you on camera. He wouldn't say it back. Oh, stop. It's like, it hurts. It's so bad. There's like that one scene where she's like, Rob, look, I'm going to wear this night. She's wearing a construction hat because it's when Tom Tom is like still under construction.
45:48She's like, look, I'm going to wear this tonight. Rob, Rob. And he like, doesn't look at her. Oh my God, stop. I know. It's so cringy. Once season six wrapped, he dumped her. And he was thirsty too. Thirsty in a different way. I think, I think he wanted to be like taken seriously as like an actor. Yes. I remember his sister was on one of my favorite shows, Revenge. Yeah. I loved Revenge. I never watched it, but yeah. She was like a real like model slash actress and he was like a wannabe. But he said he was doing her a favor by not dumping her on camera. Sorry, I was on my phone just trying to fact check her hooking up with three of four guys from The Bachelorette that she went to Venice, California with.
46:30She like traveled with three of them. I'm trying to figure out who. Was it Robbie? for sure definitely one of them who had other ones Jeff with an F probably honestly yeah she yeah she was like trying to make him jealous like she was just so devastated from this breakup she still slept with him a couple times she was just so devastated but life moves on she ends up I like forgot that this happened in 2018 Sheena was in this Vegas show called sex tips for straight women from a gay man. I remember that. And none of this was like ever mentioned on Vanderpump, even though she was like flying back and forth.
47:11She performed in 160 shows. And again, none of this was mentioned on Vanderpump, which I think is kind of crazy. In season seven of Vanderpump, she starts sleeping with her best friend, Adam. Remember when she adopted a penguin in his name? Wasn't it at like Brittany's wedding or at some like engagement party? Yes. I remember this like it was yesterday. They were under this gazebo almost thing. Do you love me? Are you in love with me? And he's like, no, no. Oh my God. No, I need to watch all of this. Like I have like chills just thinking about these scenes again. I know allergic to feeling shame, which makes her so perfect for reality TV.
47:49She also was kind of shaken up at this point because her seven year contract with Vanderpump was up and her future on the show was in jeopardy because Kristen had just gotten demoted, which I did not realize. I don't realize that Sheena gets demoted at one point. Kristen was demoted at one point before she was ultimately fired. Season eight. What season was that? Season eight was that's a great season eight. The the season where Jack's no season eight was the season where Dana, Max and Brett. Oh, my God. I mean, might as well not have even aired. I know exactly. So she found out she was getting demoted for season eight.
48:26Yes. And And Andy Cohen actually was like, you are Vanderpump Rules, but he was not an executive producer of Vanderpump. So he had no control over it. She also, when she was in New York for Watch What Happens Live at this time, she hung out with Carl and her and Carl had a little bit of a fling. I remember this. And she was so mad at Vanderpump Rules production that she debated like moving to New York and starting a new chapter there. Honestly, like I could see them being happy together in another universe. Uh-uh.
49:02So Sandoval allegedly really was pulling for Sheena and called Alex Baskin on her behalf to get her full-time spot back. And she notes how the Vanderpump Rules cast was not like Jersey Shore since they didn't band together to protect their salaries or to make sure they were all getting paid a certain amount. The Brent cast said that as well. Yeah, yeah, exactly. But the production tries to appease her by being like, there's going to be a spinoff. They're talking about the Valley. There's going to be a spinoff. You're going to be the bridge. You're going to be on both shows. It's all going to be okay.
49:36She was also super emotional during the season because she's freezing her eggs. She was told she wouldn't be able to have kids naturally. So that's why she decided to freeze her eggs. When season eight airs, if you remember, she seems really obsessed with Brett. Remember the music video? She like basically assaults him in the music video. Please. It literally is so disturbing to watch that. I cannot believe she ever aired that when he was like smacking her ass and she was like... It was so embarrassing. So apparently production was mad at Sheena. What? So production tried to make her look as embarrassing as possible in season eight.
50:17Like she was obsessed with Brett and he was grossed out by her. Production was apparently mad at her because she didn't reveal that she had made out with Brett before filming. They accused her of hiding parts of her life and then gave her a bad edit as punishment. One of the editors of that season, if you remember this, Brie Dellinger said on a podcast that her favorite thing to do was to find Sheena's most cringeworthy moments and piece them together. And Brie was actually fired from Vanderpump after that because it's like you're manipulating the narrative. Another thing she revealed, I remember, was that they were giving Stassi a hero edit is what they called it.
50:50A hundred percent. And everyone was so fucking pissed about that. We were like, you're manipulating the narratives instead of just letting reality play out on your reality television show. And that's an interesting point that you bring up because there was this theory circulating online around Love Island and how no matter what you're watching on your screens, like you really cannot trust what your eyes are seeing. because there is always going to be editor producer manipulation things are going to be cut at they're not going to be sequential order like there's just things that no matter what you how you behave the editing will never be on your side and you'll be made out to be a villain I mean I'm curious how much of that is true because I think at the end of the day you're responsible for what comes out of your mouth but I think there is something to be said about like how much of a person's perception on a show is edit related versus just true like what they're saying I'd be curious from a producer, like what they would respond to that.
51:44Totally. Another thing that they made look creepy was when Sheena filmed a scene with Stassi's 15-year-old brother, like Nikolai or whatever, and prompted her to ask questions about, you know, school, sports, whether he had a girlfriend. At the end of it, it looked like Sheena was like hitting on him, which is really gross. No. They hated Sheena. And now it makes sense. The way that they edited her, like all the time, season after season. And I'm trying to remember where it really begun. So it was season before season eight, before the Brett and Dana and Max season. But yeah, at some point it switched.
52:18I think it was around the Madison part, Marie Parks, Valetta, Rob Valetta, because that's when it really started to get cringy. Yeah, totally. So other honorable mentions from her romantic past, Shep Rose, they apparently had a little fling hooked up in 2018. She had a fling with Robbie Hayes of Bachelorette fame, like we mentioned. she actually went on several dates with Nima from Shaws of Sunset in 2019. It lasted a couple months but never became serious. And in 2019, like we said, Carl Radke, they rounded third base, allegedly. I can't with Carl. I'm sorry. And then some other like face-thumb worthy VPR moments.
52:57I remember from season eight, speaking of season eight, remember when she confronted Dana with a medium. Dana's mom had passed away. And so Sheena surprised Dana with a medium. And Dana has a podcast now called Disrespectfully with Katie Maloney. And she talked about this recently, where she mentioned how she had explicitly told Sheena that she did not want to talk to a medium. It was something that she actually, it wasn't like a question mark, like Sheena had good intentions. Dana had specifically told Sheena, I do, I want nothing to do with a medium. She also immediately claimed Max and Brett as her territory.
53:36And just in general, like Sheena, like we said, is known for just making every situation about herself. And just from the beginning, she was so dramatic about every little thing. Her gray tooth, the crutches she didn't need, her eye when she had to wear those huge glasses that were like so huge for no reason. She was so obsessed with Stassi, like calling her every time she was sick. Do you remember that? Oh my God, yeah. And would get mad when she wouldn't. And when Miami girl was flown in TVT to Miami girl, Sheena was so mad that everything was going to overshadow her wedding. She also, when Sandoval and Jax got in a fight, and she hit Sandoval during that fight, she just has so many, like we said, cringy, cringy, cringy moments.
54:26So the Brock Davies relationship we are about to touch on, but something to point out is that another thing she does that is problematic during Vanderpump and I like kind of like forgot about this until I was like just reading about Sheena's greatest hits when Brock's one of Brock's friends poison I guess is his name from Australia touches Charlie inappropriately without her consent and Charlie mentions that she felt creeped out by it and she She accuses Charlie of trying to have a Me Too moment. Did they air this? Because this sounds familiar. Apparently, it didn't end up airing, which is why.
55:04But I remember it was like spreading. I remember distinctly there was an episode on Vanderpump Rules where Charlie was upset with Sheena for bringing a certain guy around. I do remember this. I don't think they went so far as to say like Sheena was accusing her. Actually, I think they did air it. But for some reason, I like don't have a memory of it. No, this is raising, this is ringing a bell for me. I don't remember the exact details, but I do remember Charlie being upset with Shina for bringing him around. Yes, yes, that is why. That's why, exactly. So yes, this was aired, I believe it was season eight also.
55:36Yes. Oh God. Okay, so now on to her relationship with her current husband, Brock. Should she say that about the kisses? Is that weird? She doesn't care, she presses send. 57:26This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. So, Brock and Sheena met at a music festival in 2019. Olivia notes how Sheena is at so many music festivals in this book. She really is. She's always at music festivals. They went on their first date, and he mentioned that he had two kids back in Australia, and an ex-wife showed her pictures. She wasn't thrown off by this because of how she was raised. She says, I also knew his kids were being raised by their stepdad, similar to the way I was raised by my stepfather. I think having this framework helped me understand the complexities of Brock's situation with his kids.
58:02They have a stepdad who is a consistent father figure in their lives. And just like Raul had given my parents space to create a family unit, it appeared that Brock had done the same. So I think that really like, it explains a lot about how she, it didn't raise red flags to her, how Brock had left his family behind in Australia, like it would for some people, you know? Yeah, yeah. He was living in San Diego at the time, so they were going back and forth. It was kind of like long distance. By November 2019, they went public as a couple at BravoCon. So she planned to do another round of egg freezing in 2020.
58:37But before she went in for the treatment, she suddenly got pregnant naturally. She was super excited. Unfortunately, she ended up losing her first pregnancy, had a miscarriage and was devastated. She was trying to let the pregnancy pass naturally. Brock was in San Diego trying to get his gym business, his flop of a gym business going. Yeah, that was weird. Remember when he called all the guys in for like free marketing? Didn't pay them. Oh my God, ridiculous. She also saw that his location, she was following his location was at the golf course at this time. So she felt super abandoned and sad.
59:11She ultimately had to have the procedure done because the pregnancy was not able to pass naturally on its own. So super sad. Also during this time, they weren't filming Vanderpump. This was like pandemic. So filming was on a pause. Her podcast had been dropped at the time by podcast one. Brock's gyms were a flop and they didn't have much of an income. But a few weeks later, they moved to a new house in San Diego. So at this point, she relocates from LA to San Diego. And she realizes that she is pregnant. and she gives birth to summer moon, April, 2021, just nine days before they start filming season nine of Vanderpump.
59:53And she has a very traumatic birth story. She had to go to the ICU for preeclampsia that advanced to help syndrome, which is hemoleesis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelet count. It's a very, very, very rare. And she spent five days in the hospital and then cameras were up. So crazy. And imagine like the hormones. yeah which explains a lot of her journey of how she said she was suffering with a lot of postpartum ocd she was like i'm terrified something's going to happen to summer moon she's also dealing with a really rare health condition she has to be apparently in diapers throughout her time and filming and it seems like brock wasn't really neither emotionally nor physically there though we didn't really see all of that obviously on vanderpump but that sucks brock sucks and this book only like cements how much he sucks like we knew it but he really fucking sucks.
1:00:44So apparently also during season nine, Brock and Sheena were having long conversations about how Sheena almost died in childbirth and just left on the cutting room floor. The editors were always just obsessed with making Sheena look, I mean, she did enough on her own to look stupid, but they just never really gave her too many complexities, you know, like this book, it's really showing her good side. Yes, it is. And I remember this actually from season nine at Vanderpump, she was diagnosed with postpartum OCD. She was so distressed and always so nervous about something happening in the summer moon.
1:01:21It was just like driving her crazy. She could not leave summer moon alone. She did exposure therapy and EMDR, talk therapy, medication. She did share her OCD journey on actually it was Vanderpump rules season 11 as they got a new showrunner than previous seasons because this new showrunner wanted to kind of showcase the emotional journeys more and not like the petty shit as much. Just like, yeah, like hitting someone for fucking your ex-boyfriend. Yeah. Oh my God. So in July, 2021, Brock proposes to Sheena and she specifically mentions in her book that he proposed on the balcony of their apartment with a 12.74 carat cushion cut pink Morganite ring in a 14 carat white gold band with diamonds designed by Kyle Chan.
1:02:04She says that she had dressed a little more conservatively than I would have liked for a proposal picture, she was actually taken off guard. So they recreated proposal pics later with a white dress. That's so Sheena. That's hilarious. Yeah, that's really Sheena. So if you remember, James and Raquel, the gang is in Solving. Is that how you pronounce it? Solving? Solving, yeah. Solving for James and Raquel's engagement party. Oh my God. And remember how Sheena talks about wanting to elope? Her and Brock were going to elope while they're unsolving. Apparently this was production's idea. Wow. She's mentioning it all.
1:02:42Yeah. And Sheena was like, no, I'm not doing that. And so the elopement idea was scrapped and Sheena takes heat for announcing their engagement during this weekend. And people are like always telling Sheena that she makes everything about herself, but she blames production for manipulating her in her book. But like you think that she would learn her lesson by now, you know? Right. Oh, my God. So she's legally married in secret at this time in 2021. So Brock could get his green card and they kept their legal marriages secret so they could film their big wedding ceremony on Vanderpump Rules for season 10.
1:03:23And she is all excited about this because they're going to have this huge wedding storyline. Her job is secure. But unfortunately, she was demoted to a day rate again. She was demoted going into season 10 because they were frustrated that she lived in San Diego and not L.A. She thinks that they were also that she and Brock together were kind of pushed to the side because of Brock's really messy past with his ex and children. That Lala had zero qualms about bringing up on camera time and time again. And this just makes me actually sad for Sheena because the only person she continues to hold close to her is Lala.
1:04:03She's not close with Ariana anymore for Ariana's very good reason of separating herself from them. But like this is the person you decide to spend your time around. A person who outed your husband's very abusive past and not paying fucking child support and missing years of child support. He's a deadbeat. He is literally a deadbeat. I mean this is objectively the definition he is a deadbeat. Yeah, he truly is. So let's get into the Brock of it all, his many scandals and kind of the accusations against him. So he was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia. He says that he moved to the U.S.
1:04:40for a better life and career to live and work in the U.S. And I find this stuff very confusing. And I think that something that bothers me about we're having a lot of conversations about like immigration in the United States and everyone's like, just do it legally. it sounds like it's really difficult to do it legally there are just so many you have to it's it's all very confusing but basically to live and work in the u.s barack entered on an investor's visa which is a temporary visa you can get by investing in and owning a u.s business and his business at the time was his gyms i'm pretty sure that's what lames did because he had this like supplement business yeah yeah and so like you know i don't know like oh my god barack Brock only wants to marry you for his green card.
1:05:23And she's like, no, he's good on his investor's visa or whatever. But this suggests that Brock had an E2 investor's visa rather than an EB5 investor's visa. Again, this stuff is so confusing to me, which requires a very large investment and leads directly to a green card. If you remember on the season nine reunion of Vanderpump, Brock said he started a gym business in the US. He said he owned 100 % of the gym. He allegedly did not. This was a lie. He was like lying out of his ass at that reunion. It was so crazy. Later that year, he actually sold out of his gym business. So he no longer even had it.
1:06:06What? So at this reunion, Lisa mentions having to spend around$700 ,000 to get her investor's visa. And people doubted that Brock had that kind of capital. Lisa was clearly being shady. Yeah. Lisa asked Barack how he got his visa because you have to invest like a lot of money, obviously. And he says something like, yeah, I put half a mil. Lisa goes, so you put in$500 ,000 in cash and he starts like shifting in his seat and not really answering. And so then he says, well, the value of my business is 500 ,000. So he made it look like he invested$500 ,000 cash, which he didn't, which is fraud. It's like all very confusing.
1:06:45But viewers watching this were like, wait, is he admitting to embellishing his business ownership to qualify for a visa? Like that's, that's a legal issue. There's obviously been no, at this time, no official action taken against him, but they get married in 2021 anyway, specifically because he needed to secure his immigration status. And Sheena admits this. So in terms of his like past legal troubles, it was a whole thing on the show when everyone found out that Brock had once slapped his ex-wife years ago and hadn't seen his older children in person in four years and didn't seem to particularly care about seeing his older children that's like what always got me I was like he doesn't even seem to give a fuck like I understand there are a lot of there's a lot of distance and like legal issues and bad blood there with the ex-wife.
1:07:42But you don't even seem to give a fuck. Right. Right. And also revealing on the season nine reunion that he was behind on child support payments. And once he were to take care of that, then he could see his kids again. Hey, man, you're on a reality show. You're clearly making some kind of money. Yeah. Maybe try earning back that debt to be able to see your children again. But as far as I know so far, I don't think he has seen his children in Australia. No, no, he like hasn't. Oh, wait, so I guess they went to Australia. He and Sheena went to Australia in 2023, but did not see the children in person because they were, quote unquote, not ready yet.
1:08:20But he says he keeps in touch via photos. What? You keep in touch via photos? That's not how it works. That's just called looking at photos. That's not how keeping in touch works. And someone was asking, like, how is he even able to obtain like a U.S. visa with all these domestic abuse and back pay on child support. And someone, is this a riddle on Reddit, says, I believe his ex didn't file right away and instead tried to get support directly from him rather than filing with the court. She tried reaching out to him and his family, all of which refused to let her know anything about Brock. And during this time is when he already had obtained that visa.
1:08:53So when he returns to Australia years later is when they caught him. That's why he claims, quote unquote, he never knew he owed child support. He expected to ghost his kids and not have to help pay to raise them. he's such a fucking deadbeat and then also on reddit there are rumors that he and his friends would target and date reality stars despite his claim that he didn't know who sheena was prior to dating her there are like just constant accusations that brock is a con artist and that she knows the perfect mark and also given the fact that he's had some failed business ventures his home buddy fitness app, his F45 gym.
1:09:31He used to be a rugby player, but not really anymore. I mean, not at all anymore. Sheena is very open about the fact that she is the breadwinner and he helps out by being the stay at home dad. Also in the book, obviously we talked about this in dark energy Tuesday, a couple of weeks when this broke in the news, Brock cheated on Sheena when she was pregnant with Summer Moon. And it was a woman that he had known prior to their relationship. And he actually didn't disclose it until two years after the fact when Scandaball was happening in spring 2023 amidst like that fallout because there's so much attention on them suddenly.
1:10:12He didn't want it to be Scandaball 2.0. And around this time, there were also blind items about Barack and Raquel having an affair. I totally believe it now. Yeah. And you know, Sheena was like, I, during that season, she was like, I would trust Raquel in a bed with Barack. Oh, I remember that quote. That was, that certainly did not age very well. But one thing I was thinking of is not that I'm making any excuse for Barack. This is disgusting, deplorable behavior. But more often than not, when married men cheat on their spouse, it's typically around the time that their wife gets pregnant. I think like statistically that's proven.
1:10:47Men are disgusting. Which is horrible to think about. Yeah, men are disgusting. But in another thing I'm thinking about is had Scandaville not occurred, would he have ever come clean to Sheena about the affair? Or would he have continued to bear that? Exactly. That's the thing. It's like there's nothing righteous or noble about coming clean about the affair over two years later. You know, it's I guess he came clean. Sure. But two years. She didn't know for two years. Like I would feel like such a fucking idiot. And yeah, and the fact that he was able to navigate their life for two years without saying a thing and continuing to raise their daughter together copacetically.
1:11:25There's something seriously wrong with people like that. Like genuinely, how can you go to bed at night, raise your shared daughter together in the home that she fucking bought you while you be a deadbeat dad and step on her? And I'm willing to bet that this was not the first person. It certainly will not be the last. Oh, totally. And she also recalls how when they were pregnant, Brock was afraid to have, quote unquote, afraid to have sex with her during the pregnancy, which made her super anxious. That would drive me. Yeah. Like she was already feeling like insecure and he was sleeping with someone else.
1:12:01Like it's just so fucked. Yeah. Yeah. And do you think with all this coming out and people are talking about it, obviously, do you think her and Brock had like a sit down conversation and she just asked him to lay it all out on the table and ask, did you sleep with Raquel? Were those blind items true? Do you think something had to have happened to that? I don't know. I would love to know, honestly. Do I want to know enough for to have them on the valley? I don't know about that, but I do want to know. Agreed. Agreed. There were also blind items around this time that Barack was dating a woman in San Diego when he started dating Sheena.
1:12:36So that Sheena was like the other woman while he had a girlfriend at the same time. And something that Sheena writes in her book, comparing her cheating scandal to Scandaval, or not, it wasn't really a scandal because no one really knew about it until recently. But she says, I even got close to a feeling of envy for Ariana. And it was related to the fact that she got to put Tom's affair behind her without a legal union to dissolve or child to consider. So she felt, you know, the fact that I am married to this man, that we have a child together. I am like legally bound to him. That's why be careful who you marry, ladies.
1:13:14Be careful who you marry. And that's also why Ariana, like so many, for so many years, everyone was like, oh my God, it's so weird that Sandoval and Ariana like are not taking the next step. But it's like, thank God they didn't. Yeah. And I mean, knowing Sheena's, do I even want to call it erratic dating history? She just has a pattern of choosing men that are clearly not a great fit for her. Yeah. And it has to come from this seriously deep rooted desire to be loved. And I swear to God, like with the, I'm sure her stepfather was lovely. Like, I'm glad that he was there for her during their childhood.
1:13:48But it sounds like there was like this deep need of, if my own father doesn't like want me, like what man will almost? I mean, it always starts. It's like a daddy issue. I don't want to make it seem like I'm downplaying that or making light of that. But there's something there. Totally, totally. Obviously, Brock releases this long ass statement. Give me a break. It's so fucking long. Yeah, give me a fucking break. Tell her, don't tell the public, like shut up. Just like deactivate, go offline. No one cares about you anyways, shut up. I know. But a lot of people were mad at Sheena because they were like, you were trying to convince Ariana to like forgive Sandoval when he cheated on Ariana and then like pushed others to put it all out there on camera while she was hiding this.
1:14:34Yeah. And it always has to suit her narrative. Just like what happened with Shay. He cheated on her. She couldn't admit that because she didn't want to be humiliated. Just when she found out Brock was cheating on her, she doesn't want to call up to it. She chooses not to do it. It's like all this ultimately comes out to the surface. And I'm sorry this sounds so mean, but it's like you're playing yourself again to look like very dumb. Like this is 2016 repeating itself when you divorced Shay for having addiction issues when, of course, that played into it. But he was also stepping out on you. Yeah, it's true.
1:15:09Yeah, and I think that part of it, like you said, I feel like she just wants to be in control of how she is perceived. And I think she also like she knew that the viewers already didn't like Brock, you know, didn't didn't want them to hate Brock even more because she's like, I'm not leaving this guy. Like we're we're stuck together. As for like just some closing thoughts on the book, Harriet Olsen, one on Reddit, said that TLDR, she knows book is basically Vanderpump Rules, colon, the me show, zero growth, tons of name dropping. She avoids naming most of the cast like she's under NDA. It's petty, self-serving and dripping in main character energy with none of the depth.
1:15:50She shades Ariana, erases Stassi Kristen Katie, calls everyone castmates and somehow credits herself for VPR existing. You know what though? VPR, I don't know if VPR would exist without Sheena. So yeah, factually correct. Yes. Yeah. So actually what's interesting about the affair getting leaked is that she had a different ghostwriter for her book originally, and she accuses the ghost, the original ghostwriter of leaking the affair story. She actually didn't really plan on including every detail or including it at all in the final version. Early drafts of the memoir just vaguely alluded to it, but then blind items started to come out about Brock's cheating.
1:16:35And very few people knew about the affair. She really, she talks about how she like didn't even tell her mom. She was just like, she was so like kind of ashamed and keeping it to herself. Of course. So when the blind item came up, she was like, it has to be the ghostwriter. And according to Sheena, the ghostwriter abruptly had a quote unquote mental health crisis, stepped away from the project. And that I guess was like tweeting shit about Sheena. Very strange. It was crazy. So she had to find a new ghostwriter to help her finish the book. And at this point, she felt like she had no choice to address the affair so that the rumors wouldn't spin out of control.
1:17:09And she wanted to have, like we said, control of the narrative. Oh, when the blind item started to appear online, she told Brock that he needed to personally tell her mom about the affair. And he did a year after telling Sheena. Oh, my God. so crazy. In terms of, I guess, just like some other she-shoe factoids, we know about her music career. Good as gold. Good as gold, baby. Actually, like a fucking banger. She actually, fun fact, says she made a bad deal with her manager early on in her singing career, and she signed over the rights to the song. She's tried to get the rights back and failed.
1:17:50And yeah, she should definitely do good as gold Gina's version. When I think of good as gold, I think about how it's so bad. It's good. A lot of trigger warning Ryan Bailey, but it reminds me of Katy Perry's woman's world. It's so bad. It's good. I fucking love that song. I have horrible taste, but it's so good. It's horrible taste. That's so funny. As for her podcast shenanigans, it's very successful. She launched it in 2018. And yeah, it, I feel like was one of the earliest, if not the earliest Bravo podcasts. Stassi's was first though. Stassi's was first. Sheena just copying everything Stassi does.
1:18:29Yeah. She discusses relationships, motherhood, mental health with friends, fellow celebrities as guests. She kind of uses it as a way to address rumors and give her side of the story. And yeah, it's going strong. So in 2025 has a very loyal listener base. She also, her and Brock landed a guest starring role on the NBC sitcom Lopez versus Lopez in 2024. She also was on The Masked Singer as Bat in 2025, which I do not watch and I do not ever plan to. She was eliminated in the first round. Has somebody checked on Gina? Oh my God. Can you imagine if she gets eliminated first on Dancing with the Stars?
1:19:10Oh, is she going to be on it? Was she cast? No, she wasn't. But, you know, it's her dream. So that's the other thing. Remember when Ariana got cast in Dancing with the Stars and Sheena obviously had to make it about herself. And she's like, she knows that was my dream. That was my lifelong dream. It's like everything. It has to be about Sheena. And it probably was not only triggering that Ariana had all of her flowers because of the scandal, but she was also doing her dream gig. Like it's a double whammy for her. Yes. Oh, my God. And it sounds like Sheena and Ariana's friendship has like totally suffered from it.
1:19:43It's jealousy. It's Sheena feeling jealous of Ariana's success. And again, like she mentions in the book, feeling responsible for her success. She's like, you wouldn't be here if it weren't for me. I'm the one that convinced you to join the show. I fucking love Ariana. I'm such an Ariana apologist. I've loved her so forever. Like she deserves everything that she is given. Same. Yeah, she does. And she's doing a great job with, you know, I don't watch Love Island. But from what I've seen, she's an amazing host. She really is. She deserves all of her flowers that she's been getting. So as for today, what she she was up to, summer of 2025, her book tour.
1:20:18Did you know that two stops of her book tour were canceled due to poor ticket sales? See, the thing is, who's actually that? I mean, that doesn't surprise me, actually, because unlike Stassi or Paige DeSorbro or Hannah Berner, they have cult followings. People do not follow Sheena earnestly. It's more of like it's. You think that the people who listen to shenanigans are hate listening. Yes. Like, I think it's more of like a gag when they go and see Sheena at her book tour. When people meet Stassi, they are meeting Stassi earnestly because they are genuine fans of her. Unfortunately, whether like, I genuinely think like, not because I like Stassi and dislike Sheena more, but I think that's just the truth.
1:20:57Same with Paige or Hannah. People, it's like if Amanda Petula had a book, I think something like this would also be similar with like a book tour. People just don't have that cult following for Sheena. It's a gag gift. That is actually, yeah, that's an interesting observation. That actually makes a lot of sense. Yeah. No shade. I like both. I don't dislike either of them. I just don't think they have a true follow base. So tasteofreality.com, which to be fair, bashes Sheena a lot, posted some reviews from people that actually did show up to the book tour. One fan said, I went to her show in Austin.
1:21:32It was an experience. It seemed disjointed and didn't flow. I think I was supposed to get a book too, but didn't. There were a good amount of empty seats and they didn't even put out the normal amount of chairs that they usually do at that venue. She didn't realize the venue didn't have a projector slash screen to show a video she had, but said she would put it on her Patreon for us to pay for in view. Not the book tour without the book. What's the point? A book tour? How dreadful. A book tour with no book? How dreadful. And also like, oh, sorry, there's no projector. So go to my Patreon and like pay to see it.
1:22:05Yeah. Yeah. Another review from Salt Lake City says, I went in Salt Lake City and I feel like I was punked. Half the venue was empty and practically completely empty until 15 minutes before. It didn't even feel like a rehearsal before the actual show. It was a mess. She definitely needs to do a rehearsal or two before the show. Seemed like she didn't know what was going on or what to do. The merch slash pre-order books just never showed up. And she kept making comments about how it wasn't her fault. My diehard Bravo friend gave it a three out of 10. oh that's yeah especially if people are taking time out of their day to attend you got to make sure they're giving a you're preparing correctly that's not good yeah oh totally really really really unprofessional the fact that she's like it's not my fault I'm like so Sheena yeah also people are noticing how on her book tour she's like dressing like a first lady and ginger snaps underscore on reddit said that they speculated that her pr team is trying to make her seem older, wiser, and having learned from her youthful exploits.
1:23:07Wait, that's hilarious. So that's why she is subconsciously cosplaying a politician's wife who just publicly forgave her husband for a public cheating scandal. No, you're right. She is dressed like a politician. She's in this like tweed two piece set. I know. It's so funny. It's so funny. Oh, that's so funny. Yeah, that's. Oh, that's she too. And just a couple of days ago, actually, she announced a collab with none other than Shein. I saw that. You know who also did? So embarrassing. Heather El Muso. Heather from - Oh my God, really? That's so embarrassing. The only way that you could ever get me to publicly partner with Shein is if they paid me$15 million.
1:23:52No, genuinely. Because I think people can smell the inauthenticity. and even if Shein said, we're going to give you guys$15 ,000 to partner with us, I think we would say no. $15 ,000 is a lot of money. Yeah, no, I would say no, it has to be$15 million. Yeah, yeah. Because add a couple more zeros to that figure. You guys don't understand. As someone who, like I said, I kind of study sustainable fashion a lot through work. Yeah. And even like wrote a whole report on it. If you guys are interested, I can like link it on our Instagram story, but wrote a sustainability report. And Shein is far and away the number one brand that is destroying our planet.
1:24:38To be associated, to not only be associated with them, but also promote them is so disgusting. I will judge anyone who does it. She better be making like 15 million. It better be generational wealth. Otherwise it's not fucking worth it because it's so horrible and so embarrassing. And in kind of like the press about this collaboration, she says, I've always loved Shein for their affordable and on-trend styles. So partnering with them felt like such a fun opportunity to embrace the Sheena name in a positive and playful way. It feels so authentic to me and I think my fans will love it. It's stylish, elevated, and unapologetically me.
1:25:19I'm proud to offer pieces that feel put together and easy to mix and match for the entire family. To be clear. Not the kids Shein clothes. Oh my God, they're flammable. That's unsafe. To be clear though, she is wearing Shein. Everything that Sheina wears, she could be wearing couture. It's tacky. So the thing is actually, this is right up her alley because this is exactly what she's wearing. Not that I'm supporting Shein, but actually I truly believe this is a match made in heaven because she's wearing she-in day and night. You're not wrong. You're not wrong. Wow. This was a long one. And this about wraps up our she-shoe episode.
1:25:59I know that she has a lot of lore. If you read the book and you thought there were any other interesting tidbits that we didn't include, please share. Oh, she made the New York Times bestseller list with a dagger. So that's another update. But yeah, with the dagger of death. And I actually had someone in our DMs, DM us, and say, usually at these book signings, people individually buy the books. They don't book order them usually for book signings. So that's kind of the justification that we said. We were like, well, they probably book order. These book signings don't even have books. Yeah, yeah, it's, yeah, it's, I don't know.
1:26:37Again, the fact, remember when Lala had her autobiography and it didn't make the bestseller list? Yeah, Lala was so upset. She was really pissed. That's when you know Rand didn't have any money left. No. Was she together with Rand at the time that that was published? I think – I want to say she was. I could be wrong, though. I think you're right. But, no, you did an excellent job. Just so everyone knows, this is a 28-page book of notes that Sophie and Olivia put together, like, with so much love and care. And there is so much more. I was even trying to read ahead because a lot of it is really juicy, but we just, frankly, don't have the time.
1:27:14time yeah but yeah this was you did an amazing job of being super thorough and I feel like I genuinely do not have to read the book simply because I got a great spark notes version of it today in like the hour and 15 minutes we've been chatting but no thank you so much for walking us through this has been yeah fabulous detailed episode and one thing that we skipped was the scandal ball of it all because I don't feel like we need to rehash that I feel like if you know about Scandaball, you know, I think Sheena was, there were some moments where she could have done something differently. I don't know.
1:27:50We don't need to rehash Scandaball. I feel like it's been so long now that, you know, yeah. So if you're wondering why we didn't touch on like the Raquel of it all and the restraining order with Raquel, it's just like, oh my God, there's, there's 15, 15 million podcasts about this exact thing that you can go and listen to. We don't need to rehash here. But yeah, exactly. But yeah, obviously there's a lot. And thank you so much once again to Olivia, our researcher for reading the book. And that's why we have so many juicy tidbits in here. So I hope you guys enjoyed whether you love Bravo, have no idea who Sheena is.
1:28:25I hope you enjoyed this episode regardless. And as always, thank you to Jordan, our producer as well. It's been actually like a marathon recording day. So Jordan has been such a trooper. And I wonder if she's still there. I haven't really seen her. Jordan, you alive? Oh, she just, she just sent a heart. She goes, hi. And Rachel, our social manager. And thank you to all the baby snarks for listening. We love you. And a reminder that we have bonus episodes over on our Patreon. And you can follow us at snarkbaitpod on Instagram. As a lifelong renter who's probably going to be renting for the rest of my life at this point, It's hard for me to justify splurging on custom furniture or like chic, expensive vintage home finds when I know this isn't my forever home. That's what Wayfair is for. Because even though renting makes me less enthusiastic about spending money on furniture and home decor, I still want my apartment to feel chic and elevated, duh.
