In short

Flashback episode (Nov 2024) dissecting Serena “Fucking” Kerrigan’s NYC influencer persona—especially her “queen of confidence” branding, alleged arrogance, nepotism, and marketing tactics—plus related influencer/online drama.

Guests (hosts)

Sophie and Christy (Snarkbait). They discuss pop culture (Outer Banks, Drew Starkey), a trip to a Newport hotel bar, election-week mood, and TikTok diner-rating controversy involving the Oshry sisters and Garrett.

Guest background/connection to topic

Christy says she first heard Serena’s voice via Ashley and Raina’s Girls Gotta Eat episode; she frames Serena as self-important and not funny/clever. Sophie positions herself as an “SFK historian,” citing prior overlap at Refinery29 (Sophie as an assistant; Serena on video team) and later DM/networking behavior.

Key claims about Serena Kerrigan

  • Nepo-baby: parents include MTV exec Lily Neumeier and screenwriter Lodge Kerrigan; job at Refinery29 attributed to connections.
  • “Queen of confidence” is hypocrisy: heavy FaceApp/facetuning while preaching empowerment.
  • “Confidence coaching” and “coach” branding criticized as lacking qualifications.
  • “Let’s Fucking Date” (2020) live dating show and card games are framed as derivative of “We’re Not Really Strangers.”
  • Marketing shock/sex-work tone-deafness: teased OnlyFans as a ploy; backlash from sex workers.
  • Opportunistic clout-chasing: DMing influencers for access; dropping friends after cancellations.
  • Body/beauty monetization: sells ab-cream and promotes procedures (cool sculpting/lymphatic drainage).

Notable examples

  • Refinery29 overlap and Serena’s alleged lack of respect toward Sophie then later DMing.
  • “White passing Latina” article (2017) criticized as tone-deaf.
  • White Lotus/Nick Viall praise contrast used as a “brilliance” dig.
  • FaceApp vs “FaceTuning” denial.
  • Danielle Bernstein comparison on body/face editing.

0:00I have literally always been obsessed with Ruggable and rave about Ruggable to whoever listens, which is why I was thrilled and shocked when I found out they were going to sponsor the pod. My kitchen runner, foyer runner, outdoor balcony rug, and living room rug are all Ruggable. I'm not exaggerating. Not only do they have the chicest designs for whatever you're looking for, whether your style is boho, modern, classic, the rugs are both stain-resistant and machine-washable. This is key for me as a New Yorker with a dog. You don't even want to know what kind of city sludge he can drag into the house on any given day.

It's truly a game changer. Oh, and the non-slip backing that every single one of the rugs has, also key for having a dog with the zoomies. So they're functional for high traffic homes, yes, but they're also fashionable. I truly take pride in my interior design skills and my guests always compliment my rugs. Thanks, Ruggable. Love ya. 2:39Hey guys, how's it going? Welcome back to another episode of Snarkbait. How's it going, Sophie? I'm good. How are you, Christy? oh i'm good we were just chatting about our favorite show outer banks this is like kind of an outer banks podcast it's funny because we're like 30 something year old women that are obsessed with this teen drama and it's so bad it's so bad it's good honestly no pun intended No pun intended. But Drew Starkey is really 99.9 % of the reason that I listen. I mean, I watch the show because he's just so goddamn beautiful. And I also think Madeline Klein is just chef's kiss. So stunning.

3:24And I don't understand how anyone could not enjoy the show. I know. I completely agree. I know that the writing is a little silly sometimes. And it's a show about teenagers on the beach, but they're like always in a war zone for some reason. um but yeah it's just i love it i love outer banks you guys christy and i are obsessed with drew starkey again i feel like this is kind of a drew starkey podcast if you if you know you know if you guys follow us on instagram at snarkbait pod all we can do is just watch drew starkey's biceps just pop out of his his little baby not his baby tea but you know oh my god oh my god i'm so ready for that new movie with him and Daniel Craig, queer.

4:08It better not disappoint me because I'm expecting a Call Me By Your Name part two. Oh my god. Oh, I'm so excited. Well, what else what else is going on in your life besides Outer Ranks? Okay, so I went out to this hotel bar last night. I had a friend in town that was visiting and we went to this hotel bar called The Pendry in Newport. And upon walking in there, I've never felt like I live in Orange County as much as I did when I walked into that bar. Do you know how sometimes when you go into a place and you're like, okay, this isn't a bar for 20 something year olds. Like it's not like a post-college bar, but it's not a place like a dive bar with old people.

4:50It's like the most sceny, plastic surgery, old people walking around exuding like desperation. And I felt almost like dark energy seeping through the bar of people. I don't know. Have you ever been to a bar? Through the walls. Yes. And I feel like New York, you're so fortunate to live in New York because everyone is young and they're, and it's not necessarily the case with Newport. You have people that are young, but you also have people that are older and older women looking for sugar daddies or younger boys looking for sugar mamas. It just felt, ugh, I don't know. I can't describe it. Okay, wait.

5:32I'm like, I know you're saying that that's like dark energy. I'm kind of into that vibe. Like, I appreciate a cougar with a younger man. Oh, my God, more power to them. Yeah, I think that there's something to be said about a woman who just doesn't give a fuck, and she is so confident in who she is. And I actually truly, I do love that. I don't know what it was. It just felt like slimy. And do you know what's so funny? So my girlfriend that was visiting from San Francisco, she had this like crazy injury. And so she had a lot of stitches across her forehead. Like she got into like a really severe accident.

6:04So she has this bandage across her forehead and she's like a beautiful girl. Blonde, fake boobs, you know, just super hot. And me and my single girlfriend, Sarah, were walking with our married girlfriend, Allie, who's the blonde with big boobs with the bandage. Everyone was going up to her, every single guy. and me and my single girlfriend Sarah were like, well, we'll just go fuck ourselves then. Every guy was approaching her friend with a bandage and we're like, even with her face bandaged up, she's still getting hit on. And in fact, every guy was approaching her because they were asking, what happened to your face?

6:37Like as an opener, every single guy went up to her. Oh my God. And you're like, what am I, chopped liver? No, literally. That's exactly what Sarah and I felt. So that's my Friday. How's it going with you, Sophie? That's humbling. but sounds like a sounds like a fun night actually had i was like just kind of cooped up all week it was as you guys know we're recording this on november 9th so this is the week following the election so now we know the election results last time we recorded we're like oh i wonder what's up and there was some optimism there this week was really fucking shitty it was really shitty the election for a lot of reasons.

7:19There were like a lot of just like upheaval in the world. My this doesn't compare to the devastating election results, but my football team, the Cincinnati Bengals, had a just heartbreaking loss on Thursday night. I've never been more upset about it. I felt like such a pick me also when I'm like watching football with my I'm like, I'm such a pick me, aren't I, Henry? I'm like leaning forwards and I'm like, fuck and I actually was like really upset by that game and just like I just had a really upsetting week uh so last night and I was just kind of also cooped up in my apartment I work remote going to the office once a week usually but because of the election we were like we're just gonna work from home this week so I felt really cooped up so last night my husband Henry and I and our dog Baxter we smoked a J on the way to a diner and had Baxter didn't smoke.

8:15It was just Henry and I smoked. Yes. Just to clarify, Baxter and I spoke to J went to a diner that had outdoor seating and had a little booth with a little space heater. And I got matzo ball soup and we We got an ice cream sundae and a grilled cheese and just had like classic diner food. Just it was like, honestly, just what I needed. We were like, oh, my God, should we go to like this Michelin star? Like there's like this this really fancy, like nice restaurant right by us that had a reservation open. And I was like, you know what? No, I want to sit at a shitty diner. Hi. And eat matzoa soup.

8:56That's what I want. And so, yeah, it was very a very comforting, nice night with my boys. And yeah, that was my Friday night. Now it's Saturday. Now it's Saturday. That sounds glorious, by the way. And speaking of diners, I don't know if you saw this TikTok drama with. Oh, my God. Diners, diners and diners. Yes. Did you see that? Oshry. Is it Oshry or Oshry, by the way? I should know. Oshry. The Oshry Sisters episode that we just recorded that we just, if you haven't listened to that yet, go listen. Yeah, I did see this drama. And I saw, so Christy, you're probably better at explaining this. Yes.

9:36So Claudia and Ben have recently started posting to their TikToks about doing this exploration of diners in New York City. And so Claudia posted a TikTok last week saying me and Ben are at, I forgot the diner's name. we're at this diner and we're going to shout out all the good diners in New York City. And we're going to, you know, base the criteria on these following, you know, the qualifications for a good diner being these five criteria. And she said, we're going to call this series Diners, Diners and Diners, kind of like a nod to Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. And this guy Garrett on TikTok took to his account and said, how dare Claudia Oshry copy my shtick of Diners, Diners and Diners.

10:18and he started calling out her and her mom and it kind of went viral a bit. And everyone on Reddit was, of course, talking about it. And it was divided, honestly, when I was looking into the thread. Some people were saying, Garrett's so gross. He gives me a disgusting incel energy. Like, why is he calling this out? This is such a common theme of rating restaurants and diners, diners, and diners isn't even that like unique of a name. But some people were saying, you know, let him rip into the osheries. Some people were really into it. I don't know. He gives me really bad vibes. And I felt like he was attacking Claudia just for clickbait.

10:56I didn't like it. Any man, I think he's a straight man. Any straight man who's an influencer slash TikToker. Yeah. Just disgusting. I'm sorry. It's disgusting. You will never convince me that a guy, Actually, that's kind of related to our episode today that we're recording. Drumroll. Drumroll, please. But I will say that Claudia did prove that she used the term diners, diners, and diners like a year, over a year ago. And then also as soon as Garrett brought up her mom, she kind of shut up. Yes, people were saying that. They're like, wow, it's really silent from Claudia since he started pulling out the Pamela Geller receipts.

11:44Yes. Yeah, that was interesting because it's not even a question anymore about who her mother is. It's widespread knowledge. So it's really interesting that that's the one thing that shut her up. Because in my opinion, I'm like, dude, it's all over the internet. If you type in Claudia Oshry, something about Pamela Geller will also pop up. It's just she's infamous for her mom at this point. I think she just like clearly didn't want to like open that can of worms. um but yeah there i mean there's no winner with that feud in my opinion they both kind of looked silly uh sorry christy i know i know you know you know you know what something on him he was just giving me oh he gave me the ick when i was watching his videos i'm like you're just coming my cross like really defensive and like angry and it grossed me out yeah I mean yeah he seems a little unhinged unhinged but anyway yeah speaking of male influencers not that Serena Kerrigan our subject today is a male influencer her boyfriend is who we will touch on quite a bit but yeah that is our subject today Serena fucking Kerrigan and you guys I forgot what episode it was when we were talking about like our Roman empire of episodes.

13:06And this is mine. This is my magnum opus, P.S. de resistance. This outline. I know we like we're always like, oh, my God, the outline. Like, Christy and I always have an outline for every episode because we're like really organized and professional. This outline is 12 pages long. So there's a lot to cover. So I feel like we should like jump into it. But Christy, what are your thoughts slash feelings on Serena fucking Kerrigan. Obviously, she's such a fixture in NYC Influencer Snark. So I see the discussions around her and most recently her newfound relationship. I first really kind of got to even hear her voice because I didn't follow her on Instagram through Girls Gotta Eat podcast because Ashley and Raina had had her as guests on the show.

13:55And she kind of talked a lot about how she got her start, her branding. and I felt throughout the entirety of the episode, God, this girl is so full of herself. And it's not like a confidence, really. It comes across as arrogance through the sound waves. And I just didn't really feel like she's someone that I would enjoy following. She didn't seem very funny. She didn't seem clever. She just seemed very arrogant. And I can see why she's triggering for a lot of people. But to be honest, Sophie's going to take the driver's seat here because she, you know, and similar to how Shannon Ford and Lames were my Roman Empire, she is an expert on Serena fucking Kerrigan.

14:34So I'm really excited to kind of dive deeply into her lore because I know she's a divisive character. Like, I'm literally an SFK historian against my will, by the way. But yeah, we touch on that. We touch on that how, you know, her brand is being this quote unquote queen of confidence, but it really just veers into arrogance and cockiness and a little bit of narcissism, in my opinion. But if you're listening to this and you're wondering, who are you talking about? Is her middle name really fucking? Let's get into it and go through. She'll tell you it is. It's not legally her middle name, but she will say that she legally changed her middle name to fucking, but not actually.

15:18So who is Serena fucking Kerrigan? And she is, as you can probably guess, an online influencer. And she calls herself the quote unquote queen of confidence, which is very ironic in my opinion, but more on that later. And she is known for starting a live dating show during the pandemic called Let's Fucking Date and subsequently a card game of the same name, which, by the way, is a ripoff of a card game that has already existed for several years now called We're Not Really Strangers. and but yeah she really kind of went quote-unquote viral and blew up in 2020 during the pandemic when she created this live dating show and I will discuss that more in a bit but let's get into kind of her backstory Serena and I'll probably like refer to her as SFK because that's what she refers it's easier that's what she refers herself as SFK was born and raised in New York City as she loves This is reminding people.

16:18She loves reminding people, actually, of the fact that she lives on the same street that she was conceived on. So for some reason, like, that is something that she brags about and holds on to. I don't know why. I don't know why that's interesting, that she thinks that's interesting, but apparently she does. Born and raised New Yorker, the only child of MTV executive Lily Neumeier and screenwriter Lodge Kerrigan. Lodge has a Wikipedia page, so we have a Nepo baby on our hands. that I did know about her because she has gained so much success in such a short amount of time and I think people could say the same about someone like Tanks where all of a sudden these people are everywhere and they were nowhere about two minutes ago and a lot of people attribute it to the fact that both of them had a lot of money and they were able to pay management companies and agencies a lot of money to push them forward so nepotism is very much a thing in the influencer world just as it is in Hollywood.

17:14It's really like cut from the same cloth. Just having those resources, for instance, with SFK, she always has these elaborate campaigns that really seem like money pits. It's, oh, you spent so much money on this, you know, set and glam and costumes and all of these things just for an ad for, I don't know, plan B. It'll be like an ad that the average influencer just does sitting in their living room, but she'll invest a lot of resources and time and money into her campaigns, which you can say is something that is a positive about her that a lot of people say, oh, there's, you know, just high value campaign work.

17:53And that's something that she prides herself on also. But we'll get we'll get into that. As a child, she was a voice actor in Go Diego Go, which was like a Dora the Explorer offshoot, which, again, she had these these parents that are in the industry. And that's something that she like talks about a lot. It's kind of like the most interesting thing about her, in my opinion. She went to Duke University, which she also loves reminding people of, which is when she and it's funny because I can't remember the last time and maybe it's because I didn't go to an Ivy League. I went to like a Big Ten. I'm like, I can't remember the last time I was like, I went to Indiana University back in my day, Indiana University.

18:33It's like no one cares. You know, what's interesting when I was in New York City a couple of years ago, my girlfriend, she's from Canada. I met her in San Francisco, and then she subsequently moved to New York. And she told me that in New York, it's very much a big deal where people went to college. She said that people really wear that as a badge of honor. And I don't know if it's because she was surrounding herself with Harvard graduates or whatever it was. Is that a thing in your experience in living in New York City that people still care about where you graduated? Not my circle, but I can see, I think it's mostly like the Ivy Leaguers.

19:08Like, that's not me. I'm, again, I'm a basic Midwestern girl. I literally applied to Ohio State, Indiana, Wisconsin. If I had known that, like, like going to an Ivy League would be such a, I mean, obviously going to an Ivy League is amazing and I wouldn't have been able to get in anyway. But if I had known that, like, your pedigree was still such an important thing at age 32, maybe I would have cared more about where I went to college. But no, no one in my circle gives a shit. Like, and again, maybe it's because we all went to like state schools. Again, not an EPO baby. I was a latchkey kid, didn't have a housekeeper, didn't grow up in New York City.

19:48Like I went to a state school and I'm proud of it, you know? Yeah. I don't give a shit. I'm proud of it. But I do think it's funny that she like brings it up so much that she went to Duke. It's like, oh my God. Again, I feel like it's this inner insecurity of hers, which again, queen of confidence, very ironic. We'll get more into that. But her origin story about the name Serena fucking Kerrigan is that when she first was like a freshman, I think it was like her first week of college, she kind of wanted to reinvent herself and come up with like this bad bitch alter ego. and you know like i think it came from her just being really insecure and saying you know what i'm gonna be this confident bad bitch serena fucking kerrigan is now my like official name and yeah she immediately started calling herself that in college i'm sure that just the regular like duke students were like who is this person uh but yeah she again she likes to say she legally changed her middle name to fucking but she did not legally do that she graduates duke in 2016 and gets a job working in video at Refinery29.

20:53She also loves to remind people that she worked at Refinery29. Again, you will never forget these things about Serena Kerrigan, that she is born and raised in New York City, went to Duke, quit her job at Refinery29 in 2020. But yeah, she got the job. She never was like an assistant. She immediately was like an established, like I won't say senior level, but not assistant level because as most people that first graduate are entry level, you're kind of low on the totem pole. She immediately had a good position at Refinery29. I know that because I worked there at the same time. And her mom got her that job.

21:31And I can say that with confidence. I won't even put an allegedly, like I know that for a fact, which, you know what, connections. And that's something that she says a lot is that connections get you everything in life. And that is her personal experience. I will say that I got my job at Refinery29 from applying on LinkedIn. And I've gotten all of my jobs just from applying and not knowing. Connections are obviously amazing to have. And networking is such an important tool that you should do, especially in like the New York City, like media industry. But I will say it's possible because I am that person that got my jobs and my career from just applying and interviewing the average person.

22:12And there's something to be said about earning things from hard work and dedication versus getting a job through a connection, but then sucking at it once you're there. I'm not saying she's sucking at it, but do you know what I mean? There's something to be said about just earning your way through things. I appreciate that. I'm proud of my that's something that I'm proud of myself as that I moved to New York City, not knowing anyone or having any sort of connection to anyone here. And look at me now. Look at me now talking shit into a microphone to to, you know, 10 listeners. No, just kidding.

22:49Tell your friends. I am proud of myself. Yeah. You guys tell your friends about Stark Beat. But yeah, that is when we overlapped at Refiner 29. And per previous episode that I mentioned, we did work together a little bit. We were on different teams, but I was in a couple of videos. she was on the video team. I was a lowly assistant at the time. And like I mentioned on a previous episode, she did not give me the time of day. I was on the very bottom of I was underground, the totem pole. Like I wasn't just at the bottom. I was like literally buried beneath it. And so, yeah, I was kind of like the dirt on someone's shoes at Refinery29.

23:29Like I was worthless. And that's why she did not give me the time of day. And I've made amazing friends and connections from when I worked at Refinery29, from people that actually were nice to me when I was a lowly assistant there. And so that wasn't how everyone treated me, but I wasn't, you know, treated particularly well by her, but not that it matters, but that's why I thought it was interesting when she DM'd me down the road when I started to gain a following. And I think that's something that she does. She has posted actually speaking of Shannon Ford about how she DMed Shannon Ford one day randomly and was like, can we be friends?

24:06And I think that's kind of her tactic is this person is relevant, blowing up, has clout, has followers. I'm just going to shoot my shot and DM them. And this goes back to her being like, networking is so important. It's all about who you know. She's really good at ass kissing. I'll give her that. Wait, now that you say that, I do know a friend who lived in New York City and Serena fucking Kerrigan messaged her out of the blue. And my friend wasn't following her. You were in this group chat, right? Yes, yes, yes, yes. I know exactly who you're talking about. But she's someone who has a following.

24:40Yes. And Serena Kerrigan was like, let's hang out. And it's like... It was unprompted. I don't even think that she was liking her content or it wasn't like they were commenting on one another's stuff. she literally just slid in her dms out of nowhere trying to connect with her and my friend was like wait a minute and again we talk about connections in the industry what about your reputation in the industry because my friend had asked another friend who has a huge following hey what's the deal with serena carrigan and she was like stay away from her i just like good for her for shooting her shot my social anxiety could never never are you kidding also it's just like i don't have time I don't have time to even like see and hang out with like my oldest friends that live in the city, let alone like new people at my big age.

25:26Like, I'm sorry. Who has the time? No, not me. Not me. She also, for the record, like we all knew of her on my team, not just from like working with her at Refinery, but like her social media presence. Even back then she was posting, you know, her thirst traps and really insane captions back then, too. So I will say she really manifested like this career that she has because she didn't have a lot of followers back then. Now she does. And she, you know, good on her. Good on her. And back when she was working at Refinery29, she posted an article about how hard it was, is this was, I think it was 2017 that she wrote this article.

26:14She wrote an article about how hard it is being a white passing Latina. And she got rightfully, I know, poor thing. She got rightfully ripped apart for it. Her mom is a German Jewish refugee from Argentina. She also has referred to herself before as a child of two immigrants. Her mom is an immigrant. Her dad's Canadian. So I don't think that counts. No. But I will say that something interesting about her is that whether it's being Latina or Jewish or German, whatever it is, it's whatever's most convenient for her on any given day. She uses that identity marker. You know what I mean? Yeah. But obviously this this article was really not well received.

27:01Some of the comments she got kind of ripped apart for it. Like it's so tone deaf to be complaining about being white passing in this political climate. Again, this is 2017. right after Trump had been elected for the first time. And yes, we were like, you're complaining about being white, having literally an article. She's like, I blonde hair and blue eyes. People don't know that I'm Latina. So, yeah, it's tone deaf. Just read the room. Yeah. Yeah. But that's just like and this was, again, before she even became like the monster that she's kind of turned into from having a platform. There were signs.

27:42There were signs. Now, a quick ad break to talk about Bub's Naturals. I unfortunately have had very bad shaving experiences, from red bumps and ingrown hairs to cuts and razor burn.

30:20But just because I'm a hairy Jewish girl does not mean I have to settle for a horrible shaving experience. And as soon as I discovered Flamingo, I realized I don't have to suffer any longer. Seriously, I've been a fan of Flamingo since before they became a podcast sponsor. With Flamingo, my leg shaving experience is smooth, gentle, and luxurious, not bumpy, rough, and painful. Also, the shave is so close. I used to immediately feel stubble after getting out of the shower. Literally, I'm not exaggerating. It was immediate. And now, just silky smoothness. Flamingo razors feel like they're working with my body and the contours of my legs instead of against them, and it makes all the difference.

30:56Finally, shaving is a ritual I enjoy rather than dread. The best part about Flamingo, these razors are made for women by women. These aren't men's razors made pink. They're specifically designed for girlies like us to be able to easily grip and use. Their starter set has everything you could possibly need. Flamingo's original razor, a facial dermaplane razor, my personal favorite, foaming shave gel, and a shower holder. All for just$7 if you're a baby snark. Yes, you heard that right. And shipping is free. This is not a drill. For a limited time, our listeners can get the Flamingo's starter set for only$7 at shopflamingo.com slash snark.

Summer nights always leave me wanting bedding that feels lighter, more breathable, etc., etc. And Quince has been my go-to for so long now. They focus on high-quality materials like European linen and bamboo without the luxury markup.

32:01My absolute favorite is their 100 % organic cotton percale sheets duvet cover. The material is so crisp and comfy and even has a cooling effect, which is obviously perfect for those hot summer nights. I also love the look of it. It's matte, smooth, and just has this classic look that instantly elevates our bedroom. And I love knowing that we're sleeping on 100 % cotton and not some cheap polyester blend. Ugh. You can literally feel the difference. I also love their Mulberry Silk pillowcases and eye masks. They help keep your hair smooth and skin hydrated overnight because they don't absorb your natural oils like other materials do.

32:37This bedding is made for literal beauty sleep, you guys. Quince has everything you need to upgrade your bedding for summer. Lightweight sheets, airy linen shams, seasonal colors and timeless patterns like stripes and soft neutrals. And in case you need a reminder, everything at Quince is 50 to 80 % less than similar brands because they work directly with ethical factories and cut out the middleman. So you're paying for quality, not a name brand markup. Elevate your summer betting. Go to quince.com slash snarkbait for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too.

In 2020, according to SFK, she quit her job at Refinery29 to quote unquote build her own empire. And then shortly thereafter, the pandemic hits. And this is when she started her virtual live dating show, Let's Fucking Date. I think she did two seasons of it. And at one point, she doesn't have like a website anymore. but at one point her website read, Serena changed the TV landscape during the global pandemic by creating the first ever Instagram live reality show, Let's Fucking Date. The show streams Serena's virtual blind dates to her audience of 400K followers and amassed over 5 million views.

33:53What started as a way for a single 26-year-old to entertain her followers in quarantine was immediately dubbed by the Today Show as quarantine's new must-watch. Let's Fucking Date became an international sensation with numerous brand partners, including Bumble, Svetka, Bev, and Hint. So also, I think she's overinflating how much it like changed the world. But that's kind of her brand. And this is around the time that she launches her. Did you wait? Did you ever watch? Did you ever watch it? The live dating show? No, I didn't. And I remember her just talking about it on Girls Gotta Eat because I had never even known it was a show.

34:32But she really obviously attributes that show to amassing so much success. And I am curious, did she have, how did she even get people to start watching that Instagram live show? Did she already have somewhat of a following from Refinery29 or what? I think she had somewhat of a following. And then again, going back to having the resources to pay for like a PR team and all of that. I think that they were pushing it. Gotcha. In the press. So yeah, she did have like somewhat of a following. so basically the concept of the show is literally her going on virtual dates on instagram live if it's not obvious and this is around the time that she launches her card game which is a direct rip off of we're not really strangers she now has other versions of it including it's called let's fucking date she has two other versions called let's fucking fuck and let's fucking play so if you can't tell saying fuck is her personality and this is also around the time that she started doing confidence coaching with no qualifications, obviously.

35:36This is my biggest pet peeve. Same. When people have the term coach in their Instagram bio, get the fuck out of my face. You want to make money with zero qualifications, no degree, no license. And this goes for really any profession. This is actually my biggest trigger. I didn't like study my ass off to become a CPA for random people to call themselves a CPA without studying their ass off. It's actually, it's an insult to my intelligence when people do this. I would cry laughing if an influencer was like, I'm an accounting coach now. There might be a gap in the market for that to be a thing. Oh my God.

36:18My DMs are open. But do you know what I mean? I mean, it's such an insult to people that train, that go through school, that pay for school. I cannot stand this. It's very, like, scam artist-y. It is. Like, I'm a life coach. Like, I'm a confidence coach, and they have zero qualifications to do that. But they're taking people's money anyway. And she also, like, starts to consider herself a marketing and video and branding genius, literally in her own words. She invests a lot of time, money, and resources into our marketing campaigns. like I mentioned, from glam to stylists to video editors and locations.

36:55She spends a lot of money on her brand campaigns. Some of them land, some don't. She also, this is from her sub stack, which is something that she has now. She, this is how to kind of her like elevator pitch about herself. From an Instagram live dating show to a co-branded miniseries with Plan B One Step to my live comedy tour and even a funeral-themed birthday party that bid farewell to my 20s, my ultimate pursuit lies in crafting premium storytelling experiences that are designed to inspire, educate, and empower. She threw a birthday party for herself, but she's making it some like greater like messaging about, oh, I'm inspiring everyone by throwing a birthday party for myself.

37:46Really, her brand is about SFK. It's literally just my brand is about me. Like, me, me, me, me, me. Everyone worship me. Everyone talk about me. Like, there's nothing else to it. I hate the fact that she tries to talk about her brand in greater terms. Like, this delusion of grandeur where it's like, oh, my God, I'm inspiring people. Like, I'm doing this for you. But, no, you're doing it for you, Serena. Your brand is about you. It's not some greater, you just, you love yourself. You love talking about yourself. You love just, she loves herself. She's obsessed with herself. And again, I think that some of it is definitely a facade for like deeper insecurities.

38:33But she, I don't like how she tries to make it seem like I'm doing this for you. Like I am helping you. I am inspiring everyone. When really it's like you wanted to have a birthday party for yourself. You want to have a photo shoot of yourself. Like, right. There's something deeper to it. It's all in the name of just getting her face and likeness out on her Instagram and just taking pictures of herself. And do you know what's interesting to me is why on earth do people follow her with content like that? I cannot name a single influencer that I follow that doesn't, that I either A, don't hate follow or B, that I genuinely enjoy their content, either the clothes that they're wearing, just in general, maybe the content that they post, their home content.

39:14And what about her is so appealing when her entire brand is literally just her face? Like, why? What about it makes her such a successful influencer? Actually, people, please weigh in because she just, it's too arrogant for me. It's too cocky. I clearly don't know. Like, I don't know. Obviously. But in 2021, when she launches her offshoot of her card game, Let's Fucking Play, Okay. She did a photo shoot with baby dolls and sex toys, which a lot of people thought was disturbing. She got some backlash for that. Do you remember this, Christy? I don't. No, I don't. I meant to include photos of it in the outline, but I forgot.

39:59She also teased when she also was launching Let's Fucking Play. She teased that she was launching an OnlyFans, which turned out to be just a marketing ploy that she got backlash for from sex workers. According to health and wellness site Salty World. They felt she was mocking sex workers and using it as an attention grab without actually supporting OnlyFan creators and sex workers. Here we have a wealthy, privileged white woman who has historically publicized very few friendships with Black people or people of color in general and has never, to my knowledge, demonstrated an interest in nor support for sex workers.

40:33Despite profiting off of the sex sales mentality for at least two years, the same woman suddenly makes an OnlyFans account to promote a business venture. It's extremely unlikely that this will be impactful in the way that she thinks it will be. Her announcement exposed a few things to me. That shock value is more important than community. That nobody on her team could see any way to both entice and respect an already marginalized community. To my knowledge, Serena is not and never was a sex worker. Therefore, she is effectively a guest in the sex work community, which is a community and space that I happen to be a part of.

41:04and I'm deeply hurt by this marketing strategy. Oh yeah, she got some backlash for some bad tone deaf. Yeah. Again, being tone deaf is kind of like just on brand for her at this point. Yeah, it's a theme. I'm seeing a theme. It's a theme. Also in 2020, she's really good friends with Danielle Bernstein. Oh my God, please. And shared a Hampton's house that summer with her, but seems to have dropped her as a friend, at least publicly once Danielle Bernstein got canceled. Future episode, obviously, you guys. She seems, like we said, to be kind of this opportunist and loves sucking up to anyone with followers slash clout, but will drop you the second she doesn't need you anymore.

41:49I thought this was funny, how she actually sucks up to Nick Vile before eventually going on a show, The Vile Files. Someone asked her a question during her Q &A, what is currently bringing you joy and aiding you and recharging yourself? She goes, reading. I feel so inspired when I read and it's a great departure from being online all the time. I'm currently reading Nick Vile's new book and it's obviously brilliant. Oh, that tells you anything about her. Brilliant. Brilliant. Shortly before that, either in the same Q &A or in like a like recent one, someone goes, are you watching The White Lotus?

42:26She goes, I'm on season two and I really want to love it, but something in the writing isn't hitting for me. So the writers of the White Lotus critically acclaimed TV show, not hitting. Nick Vile, though, brilliant, brilliant writer. The juxtaposition between these two Instagram screenshots is hilarious to me. Amazing job. Some people that don't appreciate good television are just not smart people. She's not a smart person. Especially someone who wants to be a screenwriter, which is now her new thing. more on that in a bit. Yeah. If you don't, if you don't appreciate how brilliant and incredible The White Lotus is, then you are literally a fucking idiot.

43:06I know that a lot of things are subjective. The White Lotus is objectively a brilliant show. She has a hollow, a hollow brain. Yeah, that's, that's really all you need to know. End of episode. Just kidding, you guys. There's a lot more to cover. We're just getting started. We're just getting started. Health. Again, she calls herself the queen of confidence. her Instagram bio reads I'm the queen of confidence I've saved you a seat of my throne uh she also had a brief stint on Siesta Key by the way the reality show it's an MTV did you watch that show by the way no and I watch a lot of shitty stupid reality shows even MTV ones like Flora Bama Shore I never watched Siesta Key but her mom again is an MTV exec so she got the spot on the show she actually she was like a side character for like one season and photoshopped when she was promoting on her Instagram, she promoted herself in the center of the cast photo, which I thought was funny.

44:02So again, she is this queen of confidence. Something about her that I think a lot of people have picked up on for years now, this is not at all a recent thing, is that she facetunes and face apps herself to the gods. And people have pointed that out before and questioned her. It's like, how do you call yourself the queen of confidence? But you literally like, The I know that, you know, a lot of people will whiten their teeth or like use the blur filter on their like shiny forehead. I've done that before. The amount of face tuning and face apping that she does is is just not normal. And it's fine if that's if that's just what you want to do that makes you feel good.

44:44But like, don't call yourself the queen of confidence, then, because you're not you're not confident if you're if you're doing that, if you're changing the shape of your body and the actual facial structure of your face. you are not a confident person in my opinion yes and when people have kind of pushed back on that to her she'll kind of say something like well confidence is about doing what makes you feel good no it doesn't work like it's not you can't just change you can't just change the definition of a word you know wait really quick who is worse with facetune is it danielle bernstein or Serena fucking Kerrigan because Danielle Bernstein is notorious for face tuning her body.

45:23She is. I would argue Serena Kerrigan. No fucking way. Actually, okay. Danielle Bernstein's body, Serena Kerrigan with her face. Gotcha. Yeah. Important distinction. Danielle Bernstein makes herself to be like smaller than a double zero. Yes. It's so disordered. And yes, it's really egregious. It's really bad. Really bad. But also SFK is arguably just as bad. She'll literally whiten her eyeballs. And she'll also say things like society is toxic. And sometimes I subscribe to those toxic things. So it's like, you're not, then you're not being like this queen of confidence role model for women. You are subscribing to the same things that make women on Instagram feel insecure and hate themselves.

46:06Right. So I just, that like is my biggest, I have a lot of irks with her. If you can't tell, that is one of my biggest ones. She also, she's outright denied quote unquote face tuning because she uses something called Face App. Do you know what Face App is, Christy? How is it different than Face Tune? So Face Tune has like little tools, like the teeth whitening tool or the blur or the concealer. Face App is like a filter. Like, you know, when you use like a pretty filter, it's a filter that you apply after the photo, like on the photo, and it'll like change your face and make you look like this, like just, it gives you Instagram face.

46:42Totally. I have personally never used that once in my life. The way that she acts like it's like a normal thing that people use. She's denied FaceTuning because she FaceApps. And then she also goes, I thought everyone FaceApps. That's not normal. I hadn't even heard of the app and I am chronically online. Yeah. It's like, it's not normal. The amount that she changes her appearance on Instagram. Again, subscribing to those same things that make women feel insecure. Those same like toxic, like you are not an empowering person. No. It's like she calls herself this empowering person. It's like, you are the opposite.

47:14You're a harmful person. Again, because she will encourage her followers to get things like cool sculpting, lymphatic drainage. She has also sold an ab cream to her followers, a cream that makes your abs appear more defined. It's like literally Kardashian shit from 2016. It's getting the waist trainer. Yeah. It's like the most toxic. Those are things that prey on women's insecurities. and it's just if you are going to be that person that preys on women's insecurities be that way don't pretend that you are this empowering person that's helping women because you are not you are literally toxic yes oh i'm like getting angry just talking about it like and and cool sculpting lymphatic drainage those aren't like normal things that normal people do i have never done those things never never and you know what's scary though it's almost become so normalized i'm like why can't we just go to the gym like a normal person and eat eat well yeah it's it's yeah and we will get more into the ozempic or majuro of it all shortly but at this time like 2020 2021 2022 she's she's kind of like body positive even with like the the face tuning and the face apping she's she's definitely a little curvier and she like flaunts her curves i don't think that she egregiously photoshops her body or anything like I said I feel like that's more of a Danielle Bernstein thing so yeah she I could I will I would give her more forgiveness back then because I'm like you know what she's she does seem very confident to post her oh my god I hate that I'm saying oh my god you have a curvy person posting a bikini photo you're so brave no no I know what you mean though because for someone who facetunes so egregiously the fact that she's more honest about her body, which isn't, it doesn't fit the prototype of a typical influencer is as hard as this is to say, admirable almost.

49:10Yeah. She wasn't a size zero. Like I, I, you know, would give that to her. So another part of her brand as the queen of confidence was a lot about giving pep talks to her followers, which again is like, she thinks it's some empowering thing. I think they're very generic. Talk to yourself in the mirror. Like you're your own best friend. you are who you decide you are like prizes don't chase winners blah blah blah so again it's like those very generic not necessarily empowering just kind of I feel like trying to monetize this idea of oh I can show you how to be confident even though I'm not like I'm not confident because I facetune the fuck out of myself and tell everyone that ab cream is how to get abs and blah blah blah but I feel like it's just part of her like it's it's very like surface level bullshit that I think she saw an opportunity to to kind of brand herself and make money off of being this like oh I can help you be confident and empowered but it's just like the most shallow bullshit that doesn't mean anything.

50:17You fap in. So again, going back to her being like this extremely arrogant person, a lot of her like queen of confidence brand would is about being delusional. So she would frequently say things like, I'm going to win an Oscar. And she calls it like manifesting. I'm going to win an Oscar. I'm going to be on the cover of Vogue. I'm going to be the face of Chanel. I'm going to walk the red carpet at the Met Gala. And she brands it as kind of this like manifesting or confidence thing. But it's it's a little bit delusional, arrogant, like you're going to win an Oscar. There are people that have gone to again that are that went to screenwriting school or Juilliard or whatever it is.

51:03And they pursued acting or filmmaking for their entire lives. She wants to go to the Oscar so she can just have attention and get glammed up and be on the red carpet. It's like all these nebulous status symbols that don't really mean anything. She kind of just wants to be famous to be famous. What does she even stand for other than getting attention and followers? When she wants these accolades with absolutely zero qualification that goes back to the coaching business, it goes back to getting the Oscar. Are you a trained actress? It's complete delusion. Yes, exactly. way. And I think when I say narcissist, I think her confidence thing really veers into narcissism sometimes.

51:47I know I'm not like a trained psychiatrist that can like, what's the word? Diagnose. Diagnose someone. But she talks about herself in very grandiose terms. It almost feels like she's overcompensating for maybe hating herself deep down. It's just, It's so over the top. And I think that there's such a problem with monetizing or selling yourself as this person when you clearly haven't fixed your own issues with insecurity and self-confidence. I think that her self-confidence is as much as she puts on the show as being this like extremely, extremely cocky, arrogant person. I think deep down she's extremely insecure.

52:34When you overcorrect to this degree, what are you trying to compensate for? Yeah. People that are confident can just enter a room and it's like a vibe. Like this person just walks in, I'm gravitated towards them. They have this air about them that people are attracted to. When you talk so much about being confident, is your aura that though? It doesn't seem like it. Or a really confident person could literally just like post a picture of themselves on Instagram without face apping. Like, I can just be like, this is my face. This is my face. I like how I look. Here's my face. I'm genuinely confident, which is why I don't need millions of filters.

53:13I'm trying to think of what influencer is effortlessly cool and confident. Can you name one who exudes just, oh, you walk into a room and you're just fucking cool and people want to be around you? I mean, you know who I'm going to say? My favorite. Emma Leger. Emma Leger. Yeah, that's it? I would say, I mean, I think that like, you know, someone who's just like themselves, you know, like someone who's just themselves. Like, I feel like there are a lot. There are a lot that are just themselves. Like, Teffy is one that a lot of people like. I'm not a huge follower of hers, but I know a lot of people love her for how just like authentic she is.

53:54Just like authentic, you know, being authentic to who you are. And again, like we were saying, her brand is very me, me, me, me, me. She had a short-lived subscription platform called SFK TV, where she charged people to simply watch videos of her. And she claimed it was literally going to change the future of television and change. It was very short-lived, by the way. She gave it up. And she actually said that. And I will change your entire life. I promise. What? I just don't understand. Like, how are videos of just you talking about yourself? These bold proclamations are so inauthentic and so extreme.

54:38How could anyone pick this up? I actually don't understand who is following her when she writes this. Sign up and it'll change your entire life. That's such an extreme statement to make. It's giving grifter. Oh, it's like, that's like a scam artist. Yes. That's like an MLM. Yes. It's giving lames. Yes. And she gave up on it pretty quickly when it was obvious that not enough people were signing up. And she was probably putting a lot of time and energy into something that no one was watching. When she announced she was shuttering it, she was like, I just don't want to gatekeep my content. And just didn't admit that it was a failure.

55:12And people, someone on Reddit was like, Serena Kerrigan would have been better off admitting that her SFK TV was an epic fail. And that she picked herself up and is going to try something different. That is what an actually confident person would do. she would have been respected for being honest etc so her new thing is a sub stack about herself she really just talks about herself um which right around the time that she launched it she posted she was hiring a copywriter for a long form writing you're kidding she goes 1 000 to 2 000 words a week was on this job posting which is about the length of her weekly sub stacks.

55:57So she doesn't write her sub stack, but I thought that was interesting. I've also heard that she does not treat her employees well. She does have a team of employees at all times and doesn't pay them well, treat them well from what I have heard. I've also noticed like, again, going back to just her being very Like I explained it. And self-centered doesn't seem like a strong enough word. That's not a strong enough word. But be it like a celebration or like a bachelorette party or wedding for someone else and won't post content about the person she's celebrating. Like, I genuinely think she has trouble celebrating someone else or when the attention is on someone else.

56:39Like, I actually have noticed that that's something that she genuinely struggles with. Here's an example. I included the screenshot in our outline. Remy like met Scarlett Johansson at some point and Remy is wearing hoops from SFK's collaboration with the earrings brand Studs. And she posts the photo of Remy. It goes, Remy Bader wearing my hoops with ScarJo. And the little, oh my God, emoji. You know what's interesting is I truly feel that other people in the same space that lift one another up see each other's success in waves. Like rising tides raise all ships, right? And I think that's why, for example, in my experience with the Pod Collective, we all lift each other up.

57:24We're on each other's shows. We support one another. And people love it. And people gravitate towards our content because we're sharing each other's successes. actually now that I'm thinking about it I really can't picture her being close with other women is she like I actually I'm trying to think I don't see her in like the waves of other influencers lifting one another outside from the outside she has genuine friendships again I think that it's very transactional with a lot of her friendships in the industry because like we said she's constantly trying to become friends with people who have followings but yeah I think it's definitely really hard for her to see other people succeed because in her mind, it should be her.

58:05Exactly. Yeah. And she's mentioned before how she has to get this dig in when she'll be like, oh, congrats on all your success, Remy. I remember when you applied to be my personal assistant. She said that? Yeah, she's literally said that before. So it's like she has to bring that person down. She's such a fascinating case study, like in narcissism, whatever it is, whatever mental, I'm not saying that she has a mental disorder, but whatever she has is she needs, she needs to be studied. Her brain needs to be studied. In my opinion. I don't want to shit talk only children because I do have a best friend that is an only child.

58:42And this is certainly not a one size fits all generalization, but I do think only children, for the most part, it's, it's different. Your brain develops differently than when you grow up with siblings. You just learn how to share. You learn how to celebrate each other's successes. you learn that it's literally not all about you. Your parents have to divide time between you and other siblings. It's, I swear to God, I think the only children thing might have a little bit to do with this. Correct. I completely, not saying that all only children are like this. Correct. I think that with the right combination of mental illness.

59:17Mm-hmm. I'm sorry, that was really mean. That was really mean. I mean, what you're showing me right now is directing, is a nod to a little bit of a mental, yeah. Yes, correct. She also does a campaign for Joe and the Juice. At one point, she has her own, and I think this goes back to having the resources that I think that her team literally paid Joe and the Juice to have a smoothie named after her, and it's called The Plot. And it's literally just a strawberry, banana, peanut butter smoothie, and the campaign imagery is just like her posing topless. So it's like, okay, you just wanted to have a photo shoot, naked.

59:56You want to have a topless photo shoot? Groundbreaking. What does the plot and do it for the plot is like her saying that she thinks she invented. But we've been saying that since like college. Come on. Yeah. Like, come on. Yeah. It's just funny that she calls herself this branding and marketing genius. And it's like, what do topless photos, a strawberry banana smoothie and the term the plot have to do with each other? If there was like some, you know what? I just came up with an idea. I actually like work in marketing as my full-time job. If the smoothie had like caffeine in it or like energizing like the plot, you have to have the energy to do all these things.

1:00:37That would make sense. What the fuck does a strawberry banana peanut butter smoothie have to do with the plot? It pisses me off. You're so funny. No, legitimately though. With the weather lately, I feel like I'm always out and about doing things. Errands, workouts, beach days, you name it. I cannot remember the last time I moved without enlisting a tasker, whether it was for assembling furniture, mounting a TV, hanging artwork or shelves. The list goes on. And it's not just during a move where your to-do list can feel like it's 10 pages long. Wherever you are, TaskRabbit is here to help. TaskRabbit connects you with skilled taskers in your area for moving, furniture assembly, home repairs, yard work, mounting, you name it.

We will get into that.

1:05:43But before she meets her current boyfriend, more on that later, she doesn't seem to have a whole lot of success in dating, which isn't something I would like hold against her. Dating in New York City is really hard. Of course. But she was like doling out advice to her followers and very like archaic, like trad wifey advice. Like you have to lean into your feminine to attract a man. She'll say things like the sperm chases the egg. The man has to chase the woman. And it's just that kind of dating advice has always really bothered me. Like here's a screenshot of something that she's posted to her follower who asked, how do I not lift a finger dating?

1:06:23Cause I'm the prize. I'm just naturally forward and take initiative. To me, my advice would be like, oh my God, you're a naturally forward person who likes to take an issue. That's amazing. That actually will help you during dating. You should lean into that and make it known that you're into someone because if you don't make it known that you're into a guy, then he won't know. Her advice, alternatively, is it's strange, but you have to train yourself to doing the opposite of what you do at work. Instead of making the plans, initiating and driving it forward, you have to teach yourself to lean back, kick your feet up and let yourself be in your feminine.

1:06:59you have to let yourself. To me, that's horrible advice. You can't, you're not going to find a man by just kicking your feet up. Like you're not. You have to put in effort. Trust me, I know. I have to put in effort to find. Yeah. It's like, oh my God, I was going on hinge dates around the time that I met Henry. I was going on hinge dates all the time. Even when I didn't, I remember vividly before going on my first date with Henry, I was like, I'm so not fucking in the mood for this. I had a zit on my face. I was tired. I was not in the mood. And I was like, you know what? If I don't, this could be my husband.

1:07:33I was like, if I don't put in the effort, you have to put in the effort. And it's just so, again, trad wifey, like lean into your feminine. It's a very conservative, traditional way of thinking that unfortunately will not work in this dating climate. That will never get you anywhere. I'm also of the mindset that like, you you just need to be exactly who you are like don't don't change yourself she is like telling someone right now to change themselves you you shouldn't change yourself because the right person will love you for exactly who you are that's the kind of person that you want to find is someone who accepts you if you're a very forward person and you take the initiative a lot in life you're like the love of your life will love that about you you know and you're gonna show your ass eventually yeah you just obviously don't like fart on the first date but you have to be yourself otherwise they're gonna find out who you are eventually but even if even if you do accidentally fart on the first date the right guy will not be driven away by that i promise you i promise you this is a personal question but do you and henry like let out gas in front of one another oh my god are you kidding is that still hitting are you kidding i'll make my farts like louder on purpose when I'm around him because I think it's funny to see his reaction.

1:08:55Yes. We have no, we have no boundaries when it comes to like farting, pooping, like we are completely, and that's how it should be. Honestly, I know that some people like to maintain that, like, you know, oh my God. Yeah. The secrecy, like keep it. Yeah. Keep it sacred and like keep the romance live. Our romance is just fine. And we fart and poop in front. We don't poop in front of each You know what I mean. So another thing, another screenshot that I've included here, she does this thing called, what would SFK do Wednesday? Because again, she thinks she's the arbiter of life and dating advice.

1:09:34Confidence advice. Again, I don't know why or how, but here we are. So someone goes, he was mad because I wouldn't give him head. It's just not my thing. and she, instead of saying that's fucked up, he should not be mad that you wouldn't give him head. If you don't want to give head, there are other things to do that you like to do sexually. Do that instead. She posts a poll and says him being upset is reasonable, unreasonable. So she is kind of like, in a sense, endorsing the fact that a man is allowed to be mad if you don't give him head. Like, so trad wifey, so backwards and bad. She is the most unqualified person to be constantly giving advice, as far as I'm concerned.

1:10:21If a girlfriend of mine told me I went on a date with a man and he got upset that I wouldn't go down on him, I would advise her to never see this man again. That is disgusting behavior. Oh my God, disgusting. Disgusting. And the fact that she even put a poll up to ask her followers if he was being reasonable or not, that should not be up for negotiation. Oh my God. If you don't like giving head, that is you are well within your rights. You're well within your rights. Yes. If you have a partner, if you have a partner where that is like the most important thing to them sexually, then that's something that like maybe that's a partner you shouldn't be with.

1:10:57But maybe that's something you need to work out with your partner. But if you're like going on a date with a guy and he's like, give me head, bitch. I'm sure he didn't say it like that. But you know what I mean? You should not feel unreasonable to not want to give him head. Like, fuck that. Ever. also before she meets her boyfriend she would like frequently glamorize blacking out which i thought was really ironic and not queen of confidence like um this is another like comment from reddit the whole culture of influencers who are far past the age of 22 glamorizing binge drinking and blacking out is pathetic and sad here we have tanks and ff sfk as examples yeah it's not cute and shouldn't be something that's glamorized to an audience of young impressionable women.

1:11:41Let's encourage drinking in moderation, having fun, but being able to remember things, not doing something incredible in a blackout state. And it's like one thing to live it up, let loose. But like she would like constantly glamorize blacking out. And I think that, again, this came from like a deep sense of insecurity. I think that she. And now that she's with her boyfriend, it seems like she's really like paired back with the partying and just like stays in their boyfriend all the time, which is fair. But yeah, it's like, I just thought you are not being, you know, this queen of confidence by glamorizing blacking out at all.

1:12:17What about blacking out is a shtick after college? I actually don't understand what is so glamorous about that because Tink's, you're right, does do that a lot. Why do you think they do that? I don't know. There is something fun about like having like a night out where you're like oh my god the night was so blurry of course like right we all that happens to me not all the time but sometimes but i'm not publicizing that on my social media saying i got so fucked up like it's giving like i i remember my first beer i think the last time that i was like going out and blacking out with my friends was maybe when i was like 23, 24, even like maybe even 25 living in the city.

1:13:02Like I was still in my post-grad years, but when you're like well into your late 20s, 30s, I'm not saying that you're like so old and you should be boring. You should definitely still have fun. I still have fun. But like the blacking out thing is just like, eh. I just, there's not even an excuse because at this point, you know, your alcohol intake, you know how much it takes for you to feel good if you've been drinking for, I don't know, 15 years at this point. I just don't actually physically understand how people can still get blackout at that age. I feel I sound very judgmental. I apologize.

1:13:32It's more directed to people that make it their personality, like Tinkson, SFK. Exactly. Also, like the hangovers as you get older, like I just can't deal with I don't take shots anymore at all, which was like also so hard at my bachelorette party in my wedding when people are like, yeah, shots. And I was like, I will not take a shot. I can't. I'm not going to do it. you want me to see you want to see me vomit immediately after then i will yeah i will throw a ball over you and just like the hangovers i can't do it anymore okay so now we are going to talk about the manduro of it all which is a semi-glutide similar to ozempic um in 2023 sfk's followers noticed that she's rapidly losing weight and want to know why and she never replies to these comments.

1:14:21Most people come to the conclusion that she is on Ozempic or Manjuro. And you know what? That's perfectly fine if that's what makes you happy. That's what makes you happy. I know that there was a shortage at one point where real people who needed it, like diabetics, were not able to access it because of all of the people in Hollywood and celebrities and influencers accessing it. I don't know if there's still a shortage, so I don't know if it's problematic for regular people to be taking it. what is problematic is, again, calling yourself the queen of confidence. She wasn't fat to begin with, but she calls herself the queen of confidence and doesn't address it to her followers.

1:14:59Again, you are subscribing to the same toxicity that makes women insecure. You are not empowering any fucking one. You are not empowering anyone. You're not. You're not. And so that's what I find problematic about it all. If you, if Ozempic is what makes you happy and what makes you feel healthy and happy in your life, I have no issues with that. But don't call yourself the fucking queen of confidence who empowers women and take Majuro and not be honest about it. Oh my God. It's so antithetical to her, to her entire brand. And I hate to bring up Claudia Oshry again, but she talks about her ozempic journey, the good, the bad, the highs, the lows, what it's given her in her life, how she's able to be active and have a healthier heart while at the same time feeling down on herself when she's still not as thin as when she was at her picozempic usage.

1:15:54People want to see that authenticity, especially from someone who comes across as a person who's super confident, who prides herself in really loving herself. Then be honest with your followers about that. We actually will not turn on you. We'll actually learn to really relate to you and love you even more than we do. it's just totally totally oh my god and i love that about claudia like i respect that about her i think that that is like so like respectable about her i know that i think a lot of influencers that are on ozempic or like remy have had some sort of medical intervention to deal with her weight and maybe they're like i don't want it to seem like i took the easy way out or whatever it is it's no one gives a fuck just be just be honest and if you're wondering well how do you know she She's on Ozempig or Manjuro.

1:16:40It was pretty much confirmed when she posted a video earlier this year that had a clear shot of a Manjuro pen in her fridge. And that's where you keep it. Yeah, Scott Disick with his fridge too. So, yeah, it's just, again, that's fine if she wants to do, but just don't call yourself the fucking queen of confidence and lie about it. It's so hypocritical. I feel like I haven't been this fired up since our Nick Vile episode. No, and I'm loving it because you're really painting a realistic picture of who this girl is. You're not even shitting. You're not even like really shitting on her. This is what she pushes out to the internet.

1:17:20So, yeah. So, in the past four years, it's not just like her weight. She's gone through kind of like an insane physical transformation from her. She used to have eyelash extensions and different hair. and just everything about her has changed her style. And I think, again, it's very obvious that she has like deep, deep insecurity and she's constantly transforming herself. It's also like the work on her face that she's gotten done, Botox, fillers, whatever it is. And again, nothing wrong with that, but you are not a confident person. And look, oh my God, you can so get fillers and Botox and be a confident person.

1:18:01Everyone needs to touch up, I get Botox. And I consider myself a pretty like confident person for the most part. It's just the how she is consistently transforming herself and tweaking herself and going to she's poking and prodding her body constantly. Again, the cool sculpting. It's like the treatments constantly. It's not just the Botox. It's just the treatments that she's constantly getting the fucking ab cream and with the weight loss thing also. So, and this is, I'm, we're done snarking on her body or physical transformation after this. She is, like, extremely, extremely, extremely tiny now.

1:18:40And to the point where it's, like, the fact that she doesn't address it is kind of like the elephant in the room. She has, like, a pickle shop, which is where you can rent, you can rent your favorite influencer's clothes. Like, you can just rent them. That's basically it. So she has a shop and all of her clothes now are size XXS. So a little triggering, a little triggering. But anyway, that's like the least interesting thing about her. But again, it goes back to her being this quote unquote queen of confidence. But clearly is not, if you haven't noticed. So in 2023, she finally gets a boyfriend, which, you know, is probably good for her brand, given the fact that she's been doling out dating advice at this point while having zero luck in dating.

1:19:31She hard launches the relationship and releases a PR statement. No, she thinks. So this is a PR statement. No, she thinks. This is after she hard launches like her boyfriend, Felix. His name is Felix. Wow, thank you so much for all of your sweet messages. I am incredibly touched by the outpouring of love. I was so nervous and even contemplating if I should share this part of my life online, but I'm so glad I did. Many of you have commented on the fact that we've been on this journey together since before the pandemic, which is why it feels so special to finally share this with all of you. I elegic cried last night because it was so wonderful and overwhelming to receive so much support and positive feedback from my community.

1:20:09I'm so excited for this new chapter and my plot and I'm looking forward to sharing more soon. She is so self-involved. This is actually fucking insane. She wrote an iCloud note on her notes app, screenshotted it and posted it. This girl is so up her own asshole. This is actually insane behavior. It's actually insane behavior. This is the most egregious thing that you've shown me. This notes app. A PR statement. No, no, no. This person is so self-involved. I could never be friends with this girl. Who are her friends? Who was telling her this is cringe? I don't know. That's the thing. It's like from the outside, it does appear like she has a lot of friends on social media.

1:20:50But it's like, I think a true friend would pull her aside and be like, you are humiliating. You are. This is humiliating for everyone involved. Please take this down immediately. And I think what's also irksome about it all is that she acts like having getting a boyfriend is an accomplishment. This is like such a triggering topic for me because I'm going through this with someone else in my life who just got engaged. and it's almost as if these people do not have an identity outside of the one thing that now makes them worthy, which is this relationship. It's so sad and, dare I say, pathetic. It is.

1:21:27And getting a boyfriend or getting engaged or getting a husband, whatever it is, it's not an accomplishment. It's not something to, like, brag about. It's, oh, you met a like-minded individual and you guys, like, hang out with each other. Cool. Yeah, it's very exciting, but it's not something that you that should define you or make you feel like you like accomplish something over other people. And that's I think, again, it goes back to the lack of confidence that she has and how just false her entire facade is that she and just the advice that she's been giving out to people for years about, you know, not needing a man or whatever it is.

1:22:05But all of a sudden, it's you know, it's an accomplishment, for example. Thanks to you. This is a statement that she put out when she was promoting SFK TV, short-lived SFK TV. Thanks to you, I've manifested a boyfriend, a billboard, and a million-dollar business. Like, I've manifested this, and this is an accomplishment that I've done. She also did, like, a video promoting a live show of hers, which, again, live shows are something else that she does where she just, like, talks about herself on stage for an hour. In a promotional video for her live shows, they go, you landed the boyfriend. What more can you tell us about that?

1:22:40It's like she landed this boyfriend. She manifested this boyfriend. It's this huge accomplishment for her, which is really sad, honestly. It is. It's pathetic and sad. Yikes. So they met when she went on his podcast and she's posted the clip of it like thousands of times, but he has a podcast and was 23 when they met. She was 29. He is now 24. She's 30. So they have a six year age gap. When speaking of that, you know, aforementioned funeral themed birthday party, she had a birthday party for her 30th mourning the death of her youth, which don't even get me started about how annoying and problematic that is.

1:23:23Your youth doesn't die when you turn 30 people. And he is a 24 year old podcaster who has no job as far as we know other than his podcast he also is kind of like a wannabe influencer he's posted branded content before he's active on tiktok he's active on social media which again i feel like christy and i've talked about this it's like if your man cares about social media honey your man's gay i'm just kidding if you're not really but like you know what i mean And I'm like, there's something wrong. If you're the man who is posting on Instagram reels about a day in his life is not going to provide for you.

1:24:07Oh, my gosh. Like, bring back shame. Bring back a corporate job. Yeah. Let's just be normal about it. This is gross. I know. And, okay, I don't mean to be problematic when I say this, but as a 30-year-old, at 30 years old, you wouldn't catch me ever dating a 24-year-old. and I'm not trying to sound ageist or whatever, you are at such significantly different parts in your life. When you're 24, I am partying. I'm going out. I'm getting fucked up. When I'm 30, you're like well-set in your career. I just, I don't even know what you could talk about as a 30-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man. I was just gonna say, there's nothing wrong with big age differences, but I just think it's interesting how, again, it's like this big accomplishment for her.

1:24:51And she manifested this guy. And meanwhile, he is straight out of college, has never had a real job, lives at home with his mom. Again, it's like there's nothing. I'm sorry, he's a public figure, too. So I can talk shit about him. He's a public figure. I'm sorry. What is his podcast about? He just, like, interviews people. It's called Unlike Me, where he interviews people that are unlike him. Interesting. Is he also a Nepo baby? I don't think so. but it seems like a mutually beneficial because he is this wannabe influencer he gets to go to influencer events with her and gets clout she you know gets to monetize their relationship which she heavily does she heavily turns their relationship into content whether it's her paid sub stack or her tiktoks or whatever it is and he also gets to tag along in her like month-long trips with her because he doesn't have a desk job um again like men used to go to war now men are saying get ready with me before i go to the gym we need electricians you guys like we need we need a blue collar worker we need a man that's a white collar worker we need all that we don't need a man who has a podcast and does grwms with them and their moms yeah grwm and it's just interesting because, again, so much of her brand has been about like never settling and like this and that.

1:26:18And I just can picture so clearly one of her followers writing into her and being like, so I just started dating this guy, but I'm almost 30 and he's 23 and he's never had a job and he lives at home. Is this worth pursuing? She'd be like, fuck no. Like, that's how it but But it's like, you know, it's just that's what happened with the man that ended up, you know, wanting to date her. And that's that. But it's just it's just funny. She's also posted before they both work 24-7, even though they're always on month long trips and they're always at the aloe gym during weekdays. I just think it's I just think it's it's funny.

1:27:00It's funny to me. wait I'm looking at this note and then you said the other thing about Fifi was that his name Felix is he sells courses on podcast growth and podcasting even through his podcast unlike me and it's gotten two reviews in the past four years I literally just noticed that when I went on oh yeah yes oh my god thank you because I almost skipped past that he sells courses on podcasting but he has a podcast that's gotten two reviews in four years so again another I feel like they're just kind of like mutually like scam artists. There's something very scammy about that. Like what, what, what are you teaching to people with, you know, it's not like you have some crazy body of work or crazy body of knowledge that people, it's just, again, like I'm going to change your life, but pay me, you know?

1:27:46Yeah. And his podcast also has five stars on Apple with 409 reviews. I feel like he told people to rate his podcast that five stars. There's no podcast that has full five stars. It's very rare. Also, like they're all from four years ago when he first launched his podcast, except two, except two of them. Yes. So now today, her new thing is obviously monetizing boyfriend content. Her sub stack, she recently posted one after the Quiet on Set documentary came out about about the abuse of child actors that were working at Nickelodeon. She made it about herself, no surprise, and wrote about how when she was a voice actor on Go Diego Go, she escaped being abused because she had parents that protected her.

1:28:37Just extremely disgusting and tone deaf, and of course had to make it about herself. Just truly heinous. There are some things about her that are just irksome and some that are actually disgusting. And that is one of them, like extremely problematic, extremely disgusting. She also recently posted a video of herself meeting Taylor Swift at the corner store when Taylor Swift was there with, I think, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Travis Kelsey, and tried to give her her card game. It's literally on her Instagram right now. But the video cuts off before we see if Taylor Swift accepts or not. And everyone's like, oh my God.

1:29:15Did she accept what happens next? You can't leave us hanging. She cut the video off and won't tell anyone. So it's pretty clear that Taylor Swift did not accept the card game, which is embarrassing. But okay. Also, she had balls. She had balls to approach Taylor Swift while she's eating. That's actually crazy behavior. She walks past her at the restaurant, but still, she had set her phone up to film this moment. You have to watch it. You have to watch it. But she's still face tuning an insane, insane amount. She says she is writing a screenplay about her and Felix's love story. She thinks they're literally the characters from Nobody Wants This.

1:29:55Well, she has. I do know that her and Felix met from, you know, like you had mentioned through the podcast. And she thinks it's like this most serendipitous thing. And I was thinking it's like very common for people to meet each other through hosting or guesting on one another's shows. it's not this unique love story it's a very common occurrence in the entertainment podcasting world i just don't get why people think it's so like interesting it's like okay you met on a podcast cool this is not the coolest meet cute in the world it's not unique it's not yeah it's it's very plain yes and someone commented she again she posts videos of themselves themselves the the from the podcast they're meet cute all the time and someone goes can this be turned into a movie and she was working on it so it's clear that this is what her screenplay because she's talked about currently working on a screenplay it's clear that it's about that because she's incapable of writing about anyone but herself so it's obviously about her and now we know it's about her and felix her boyfriend sad part is because of her connections in the entertainment industry with her mom and her dad it there is a world in which this could happen there could be a screenplay about this, which is very sad.

1:31:10I'll believe it when I see it. You know, it is sad, but like, it's not going to be good. Oh, it'll be horrible. There are so many things that she's teased over the years where it's like, oh my God, biggest meeting of my life or biggest like, like whatever it is. And then it's panned into nothing. I'm not trying to be a bitch, but it's just like, yeah, you want to win an Oscar and be at the Met Gala. I'll believe that. I'll believe all of this happening when it happens. And honestly, that TikTok that you put in the notes of her doing an ad where I don't even know what the freaking product she was hauling was.

1:31:49But when her and her boyfriend started having sex on the TikTok, that was the most heinous TikTok I'd ever seen in my life. In fact, that's kind of the reason I started disliking her. I'm like, this is really gross and cringeworthy and just not something I want to see on my TikTok algorithm. And I saw it on Reddit and I started sharing it with all my friends and it was just disgusting, to be honest. It was gross. Yeah. So she did an ad for what I think is like a supplement that makes you like horny. It's like a sex drive supplement. And in the video, her and Felix are like, it's like a sex montage.

1:32:24And it's just like she, again, it's like Felix is such a huge part of her content and monetizing her brand. And it's just it's gross. She needs everyone to know that they have sex. She also posted her and Felix playing rock, paper, scissors on the caption is deciding who's going to be on top tonight. It's all very crass. It's all very crass with her. But again, her name is Serena fucking Kerrigan for a reason because she fucks. No, this is a good one. And this was one of our most requested episodes because, again, she is one of the most discussed, talked about influencers. And now I completely understand why.

1:33:04The material truly writes itself. She wrote this outline for us. Do you know what I mean? Yes, exactly. It was like so much fun and almost easy to put together because she documents all of her heinous behavior. Any closing thoughts, Christy? Did you learn anything new? definitely the most cringeworthy thing was the pr statement about her newfound relationship and i actually am curious for the listeners to write in either through a comment on our instagram or you can send us a text on the link in our show notes i want to know if you follow serena fucking kerrigan and you enjoy her content can you please explicitly tell me why i'm actually genuinely curious because nothing about this woman's content from what i've read on this outline from what we've discussed today, whatever line was something that I would want to follow.

1:33:53And I'm just out of genuine sheer curiosity. I'm curious, what does she bring to your content feed that you enjoy watching? And this is not in judgment. I'm curious. Please let us know, you guys. Please let us know. Again, not judging, just curious. Well, that about wraps it up, you guys. I am going to go eat a bagel. Thank you. Thank you again for listening. please feel empowered feel confident to leave us a five-star rating interview please remember you can text us also you can follow us at at snarkbait pod and this we'll see you next time yeah thanks so much for listening guys and we'll see you on the next one bye

1:34:56If there's one refresh worth making this summer, it's your bedding. Trust me. Summer nights always leave me wanting bedding that feels lighter, more breathable, etc., etc. And Quince has been my go-to for so long now. They focus on high-quality materials like European linen and bamboo without the luxury markup. My absolute favorite is their 100 % organic cotton percale sheets duvet cover. The material is so crisp and comfy and even has a cooling effect, which is obviously perfect for those hot summer nights. I also love the look of it. It's matte, smooth, and just has this classic look that instantly elevates our bedroom.

1:35:30And I love knowing that we're sleeping on 100 % cotton and not some cheap polyester blend. Ugh. You can literally feel the difference. I also love their Mulberry Silk pillowcases and eye masks. They help keep your hair smooth and skin hydrated overnight because they don't absorb your natural oils like other materials do. This bedding is made for literal beauty sleep, you guys. Quince has everything you need to upgrade your bedding for summer. Lightweight sheets, airy linen shams, seasonal colors and timeless patterns like stripes and soft neutrals. And in case you need a reminder, everything at Quince is 50 to 80 percent less than similar brands because they work directly with ethical factories and cut out the middleman.

These pieces are built to actually last, and I love that for me. My genuine absolute favorite piece I've gotten is the Anywhere Cropped Bra Tank.

I cannot remember the last time I moved without enlisting a tasker, whether it was for assembling furniture, mounting a TV, hanging artwork or shelves, the list goes on. And it's not just during a move where your to-do list can feel like it's 10 pages long. Sometimes I really just need an extra hand for those little things I feel like I never end up getting around to myself, like hanging the collage wall. I promised myself I'd do for months. Wherever you are, TaskRabbit is here to help.

1:38:23TaskRabbit connects you with skilled taskers in your area for moving, furniture assembly, home repairs, yard work, mounting, you name it. You can search for a tasker based on cost, skillset, availability, and past client reviews. So you know exactly who's showing up and can have confidence so they know what they're doing. Taskers have assembled over 3.4 million pieces of furniture, completed 700 ,000 home repairs, handled 1.5 million moves, and counting. It's okay to ask for help with your to-do list. It's finally summer, which means all of us, hopefully most of us, are going to be spending a lot more time outside touching grass. And when was the last time you upgraded your outdoor furniture situation? Wayfair is your one-stop shop for outdoor seating, grills, appliances, patio lighting, storage, rugs, decor, you name it.

1:39:31Everything you need to make your outdoor area the best seat in the house. We only have an itty-bitty balcony in New York City, but thanks to Wayfair, we made the most of our tiny space with a perfect little bistro set and twinkle lights. I'm so excited it's finally warm enough to use it again. My favorite thing to do during the warm weather months is have coffee and breakfast out there with Baxter on sunny mornings. It's my favorite start to the day, and it wouldn't be possible without my Wayfair furniture. I also really appreciate that Wayfair has installation and assembly services because outdoor furniture can be heavy and intimidating to assemble.

1:40:01It makes the experience truly seamless and stress-free. But my favorite part about Wayfair, you don't have to take out a freaking loan or remortgage your house just to make your space as gorgeous as possible. Especially if you, like me, are not in your forever home yet and you don't want to slurge on major investment pieces. I love how affordable everything at Wayfair is. Patio season is here and these deals won't last. Head to Wayfair.com right now to get your outdoor space ready for way less. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R.com. Way fair, every style, every home. Turn it up. Storm has zero sugar and 200 milligrams of caffeine.

1:40:41So you can turn that workout up a notch. Good energy in, good energy out. Energy for life.
