In short
A deep dive on Tori Spelling’s rise from Beverly Hills, 90210 to years of tabloid “lore,” focusing on her family connections, chaotic relationships (especially with Dean McDermott), financial instability, and public fallout.
Guest backgrounds
The episode is hosted by Christy and Sophie (Snarkbait). Sophie is described as a long-time follower of Tori’s career and reality TV; both hosts reference other pop-culture recaps and live-show appearances.
Key claims
Tori is framed as a “nepo baby” because her father Aaron Spelling executive-produced Beverly Hills, 90210 and starred her as Donna Martin at age 17. Her personal life is portrayed as consistently messy: cheating (including with Brian Austin Green), Dean’s addiction and rage, and repeated financial trouble including multiple tax liens. The hosts argue her upbringing may have contributed to poor money management and entitlement.
Notable examples
“True Tori” and “Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood”; the alleged 2013 cheating/rehab; Dean’s “breast implant bookends” anecdote; American Express lawsuits; 2018 LAPD 911 domestic incident response; 2023 divorce settlement with 90/10 custody; Dean’s drunk Instagram post and 40-day rehab.

I'm Sophie. And today, we got a bit of a doozy for you. If you haven't already seen, we are talking about Tori Spelling today. And my goodness, Sophie, I knew nothing about this woman until doing research for this episode. Let's drop in. Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot of lore there. I have been following her career for as long as I can remember, honestly.
1:42Snark Bait Hosts:Like, I watched the reality show she did with Dean McDermott. True Tori. Yes. Yes, True Tori. And just a very chaotic life and so much lore there. And I'm excited to talk about it. Yeah. And we also just were recording on Thursday, March 26th. We just recorded a Southern Charm reunion part two recap for Ryan Bailey because he is on paternity leave. So that was really fun. Oh, my God. I know. He's so funny. Folks. Sophie was impersonating Ryan and like she started the episode differently than we usually start snarkbait. And so she opened it as folks. And I was like caught off guard. I was like, who am I recording with?
2:19Folks. Yeah. Welcome to your week. Excuse me. Oh, my God. Yes. Ryan is truly a delight. and I was so happy to be on his show. And if you guys didn't know already, Ryan's going to be at our LA live show, which is like kind of a big deal because if you didn't know, Ryan is uber famous. And I was just saying on his show that he was on season three of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and I'm so behind. I've been rewatching. Well, no, I've been watching for the first time, but backwards, you know, I called Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Junior. It is anything but Junior. Take it back. No, I take it back.
2:50Someone was like, how could you call it Junior? And I'm like, you know what? Credit where credit is due. You guys, I'll give it to you. I was so fucked up for saying that. It is a crazy fucking show.
2:59Snark Bait Hosts:It really is. It's just I know that, you know, we did our Taylor Frankie Paul emergency press conference a couple weeks ago. And we talked about how season five filming was paused. I'm very curious what ends up happening with that if they resume filming. Who knows? I mean, like I it sounds like a fucking mess. And there was even more that came out yesterday. day. I mean, again, we're recording on March 26th, so by the time you're listening to this, this is weak old news, but there was a third incident that they're investigating. So it's bad over there. But if this is it for Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, we had fun while it lasted.
3:38We had a good run and honored to be in the presence of Ryan Bailey on May 15th at our live show, x1entertainment.com slash snarkbait. He's going to be a special guest, and I'm just honored because he's so cool. So thank you very much, Ryan, for being on our show. We're taking time out of your busy schedule after having a bebe to come and hang out with us in Santa Monica. Yeah. Shout out Romy.
3:58Snark Bait Hosts:Shout out Romy Bailey. What a cutie. So sweet. So without further ado, Sophie, do you want to get started? Yeah, let's get into it. Okay. So you are kind of a Tory connoisseur now realizing you probably should have led this episode, but it's totally fine because now I feel incredibly knowledgeable about her. What are your top line thoughts on her? Do you love her? A follower of her? A follower of her? I feel like I ironically love her. There are just so many funny things that she has done throughout the years. And do you also remember watching her in Scary Movie? For some reason, I forgot that she was in Scary Movie.
4:39Oh my gosh, Scary Movie. I think I saw that in theaters. I don't know what my mom was thinking because I was very young when that first came out, but I don't remember her in Scary Movie, no. So good.
4:47Snark Bait Hosts:So I feel like her acting work was quickly overshadowed by her chaotic personal life throughout the years and her reality show with Dean McDermott and the scandal there in terms of how they got together and her failure of a first marriage and her getting cut off from her very extremely wealthy father's inheritance. and yeah so I feel like her personal life has always been extremely messy and chaotic and her acting it's like does she even like when's the last time she acted I don't know her relationship struggles her financial struggles her odd living situation we will cover it all on this episode of snarkbait and I know she's a bit of like a not she's not the name on everyone's lips today but she was at one point incredibly incredibly relevant to pop culture and I now really want to read all of her books because I feel like she's led a very colorful, interesting, extravagant life.
5:43And there's more to be written, I feel like, on her well beyond this episode. But I'm going to do my best to walk you guys through her. So Victoria Davies-Belling was born May 16th, 1973. She's currently 52 in the year 2026. She was known for her starring role in Beverly Hills, 90210, not to be confused with the CW remake, 90210. She's had two spouses, Charlie Shanion. she was only married to for less than two years, and Dean McDermott, who she was married for for almost two decades, but not quite. Her career has spanned across television, film, reality series, books. She has a podcast called The Miss Spelling Podcast, a little cute pun on her last name.
6:24So let's get into her background. Her parents are Erin and Candy Spelling. And whenever I think of Erin Spelling, I think of that reference from Legally Blonde. I live across the street from Aaron Spelling. I'm not white. I'm not white trash or whatever that line is. You know what I'm talking about? Yeah. Her productions or excuse me, Aaron's productions included the television series Charlie's Angels, The Love Boat, Heart to Heart, Dynasty, Beverly Hills, 90210. So Tori is very much a nepo baby. Her father, who executive produced 90210, Beverly Hills, 90210, starred his very young daughter in the show.
6:57Melrose Place, Seventh Heaven, sinister, sinister energy on the show we've talked about seventh heaven a christian faith-based show that i was really into at one point very bizarre sophie was not but really weird show altogether we should
7:10Snark Bait Hosts:do like a patreon episode on that yeah there's like lore there yes dark-sided lore dark not even yeah it's not fun yeah and charmed which i never watched charmed but i remember it was a huge show back in the day did you ever watch no but alissa milano uh rose mcgowan i want to say was on it Yeah, that was huge back in the day. Huge. I feel like we were really into the paranormal, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer charms. Oh, my mom loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I remember watching that show with her. I used to watch it. I was way too young to be watching it, and it was very scary. Yeah, and Xander died.
7:49Did you know that? He died last week.
7:51Snark Bait Hosts:Wait, Xander? Yeah, Xander from the show. Yeah, I remember having a huge crush on him as a young kid, but I think his name is like Brandon something. Oh my God. Yes, I saw this. Isn't that crazy? Yes. No one's like talking about it. Nicholas Brandon. Okay, thank you. Yeah, Nicholas Brandon. Wow. So rest in peace, Nicholas Brandon, because he was such a, you know, a huge part of that show. And now, you know, Michelle Trachtenberg, Nicholas Brandon. I mean, that show has some kind of sad. Oh God. But Candy, Tori's mother, was a theater producer and actor. She's still alive. Her parents, interestingly enough, had a 20-year age gap.
8:28They married when Candy was 23 and Erin was 45 in 1968. So yeah, she's a Nepo baby. And we've done an episode on Nepo babies on Patreon where we talked about the dark-sided age gap between Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, Dakota Johnson's parents. And Melanie Griffith was only 14 and Don Johnson was 22 when they first met. So really dark-sided. It kind of reminds me also of the Elvis-Priscilla relationship. It's really weird because back then we didn't really bat an eye at these huge significant age gaps where I feel like now it would be much to discuss. Tori also has a younger brother named Randy, who was also a former actor and transitioned into a life coach, which life coach, I always kind of side eye people that have those kinds of professions.
9:11I think of Lame's, Shannon Ford's husband, and Amanda Francis, if you guys are watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, people that just slap life coach on their LinkedIn. I'm like, what are your actual credentials? You know, are you actually a licensed clinician to do the things that you're doing to be a therapist, but rebranded as something else? I don't know. I'm not saying everyone that's a life coach is necessarily a nefarious actor, but I do think it's a little bit of a profession that I side eye.
9:36Snark Bait Hosts:Yeah, it's kind of exploitative in a way. I remember when I was like my most depressed and it was like right after a breakup and I was just really lost and like really depressed. And I remember I just had a flashback of like reaching out to a life coach because I was like, I need help. And then I talked to the life coach and she was like, so like, what do you want to do with your life? And I'm like, I don't know. That's why I need a life coach. And like, she was like, so not helpful. And then I was like, oh, actually I need like real therapy. A hundred percent. It can align with that experience.
10:09I think when I was at my most depressed, I didn't actually like, I did have like a call with a life coach and then I took a step back and I'm like, what am I doing? But I feel like to your point, life coaches are exploitative because they prey upon people's darkest moments and then monetize off of that.
10:22Snark Bait Hosts:And don't have any real like credentials usually. No, they're not licensed. They haven't, you know, studied this professionally. Like, yeah, it's a whole different episode we could do. But I feel like oftentimes people that do come from privileged backgrounds, i.e. Tori Spelling's younger brother, Randy, they kind of are able to do so because they always have a fall black or some kind of inheritance, which in Tori and Randy's case, albeit it wasn't as significant as Aaron Spelling's entire inheritance. You'll come to see they only inherited less than a million each. But regardless, I would love$800 ,000 in my bank account.
10:51Yeah, sure. Tori graduated from the elite all-girls private school, the Westlake School in L.A., which now, if you guys are familiar, it's now called Harvard Westlake and rebranded in 1991. So at the age of 17, Tori was given the role of Donna Martin on Beverly Hills 90210, which was co-produced by Aaron Spelling's company, Spelling Television. And she was portrayed as Donna for the show's entire run and was nominated for two Young Artist Awards. And she later reprised Donna in subsequent spinoffs, like I mentioned, 90210. Between 2009 and 2010, she reprised her role. And then also a 2019 meta show, BH90210.
11:29Which, by the way, Sophie, 90210 kind of came off the heels of the success of Gossip Girl on The CW. I remember that. I remember being really into 90210. I think like the first and second season. What were your thoughts on that show? Did you watch it?
11:40Snark Bait Hosts:I remember, like, watching it. I remember Sinead Grimes was, like, such an it girl. Wasn't Meghan Markle also in, like, the pilot for 90210? Yeah, like, giving head to Dustin, I think his name was. She was giving head. I remember, like, watching it when it first came out, but I didn't become, like, a regular viewer. I think that it thought it was going to have, like, the same fan base as Gossip Girl, but it just never took off in the same way that Gossip Girl. Yeah, it never had, like, the real cultural relevance that Gossip Girl are, like, you know, similarly. The O.C. The O.C., yeah. So when she was starring on Beverly Hills 90210, she was a cast in a number of made-for-TV movies.
12:17Honestly, I can name them all. You guys wouldn't know what they were.
12:20Snark Bait Hosts:Oh, but these sound right up my alley. I love shitty movies like this on Lifetime. Hoed, Call Girl, A Friend to Die For, Mother May Sleep with Danger. Oh my God, I need to like find where these are streaming. Probably Tubi because Tubi has everything. Yeah, Tubi. We love Tubi. We love Tubi. We've talked about Tubi before and they sent us merch and we both wear our Tubi merch all the time. I was FaceTiming Sophie actually yesterday because we were talking about, I don't know, something. Something boring. Yeah. And I go, Sophie, are you wearing this? She goes, Tubi merch? Sure am. Are you wearing the Tubi merch?
12:54Snark Bait Hosts:Yeah, I am. And it's so, they're so great, the Tubi team. They've sent me like slides that I wear all the time. And we love it when baby snarks work for like legit companies because they'll like send us really cool shit. And I assure you, we will don it and wear it because. Yeah. And it'll be companies that we just like talk. We're like, oh, my God, I love Chobani Creamer. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. Exactly. It's like so nice that baby stars are very smart business women. Yeah, exactly. Wait, also, speaking of like Lifetime movies, there's a Lifetime-esque movie on Netflix right now called Gaslit by My Husband.
13:26Snark Bait Hosts:Highly recommend. Craig Conover, Gaslit by My Blink. Gaslit by My Co-Stars. Yes, gaslit by my situationship. Okay. It's starring Jaina Kramer. Jaina Kramer. Oh, Jaina. She's always in a lifetime made-to-TV movie. She's always in just, like, a situation, I feel like. She's always in the headlines, but to be very clear, I have no idea why she's famous. I think she has been stint on One Tree Hill, but, like, that's all I know. Me too. I'm very confused by her career. So maybe we need to do, like, a deep dive on Jaina Kramer. Add it to the calendar. Like, genuinely, I want to do an episode. I was going to say I want to do a Kelly Teller episode.
14:02Yes. I'll do that and then you do Janet Kramer. Janet Kramer. Okay. Okay, I'm putting it on the calendar after this. Okay. So let's talk about Tori's reality TV and her later career, post-90210. So from 2007 to 2012, she started in the VH1 Oxygen reality TV series called Tori and Dean, Home Sweet Hollywood. Originally called In Love, I-N-N, like the hotel suites in love. Sophie, being a connoisseur of VH1 reality TV shows, were you a viewer? Yes. home sweet Hollywood. That's so funny. Like, what the fuck is this?
14:35Snark Bait Hosts:Oh, it was so good. I watch anything that was on BH1 reality TV wise back in the day. Like, I was tuning in. No parental regulation. It's so cute because it's a random show. My random reality TV show was Who Wants to Marry My Dad. Did you ever watch that? I remember Date My Mom. I don't remember Who Wants to Marry My Dad. It was literally the Bachelor franchise, but instead of like the lead eliminating potential suitors, it was his children that were eliminating the potential suitors. What was this on? Like what channel? I think ABC. Oh my God, it's on Tubi. Shut the fuck up. It's on Tubi. Shut the fuck up.
15:15I shit you not, Sophie. I remember that was my gateway into reality television. I distinctly remember being on my mom's bed watching it and it was like the show ended and I'm like, wait, we can't watch. I want to watch the rest. My mom's like, we have to wait till next week. and I was devastated.
15:27Snark Bait Hosts:Well, you can binge it all on Tubi right now. That's so fucking funny. Oh my God. Oh wait, I'm freaking out also because this was 2003 was when the first season came out. Like we were 11 years old. Yes, 100%. And I was upset. I think it literally just had one season, but like that's my random reality show. But rest assured, Sophie has got us on Tori and Dean Home Sweet Hollywood. So if you guys are unfamiliar with the premise, Tori and her husband Dean pretended to purchase and operate a bed and breakfast hotel in Falburg, California, which is so random. It's like kind of by my house, kind of not, between San Diego and Orange County.
15:59In July 2007, Tori became a minister to marry a gay couple at Chateau La Rue. A tape of the wedding ceremony was shown on the show In Love. And interestingly enough, there were writers that claimed that they were actually the ones that came up with the idea of a similar series starring Tori and her husband, Dean. And they filed a$60 million lawsuit against the series, citing breach of implied in fact contract, breach of fiduciary duty, slander of title, false advertising, unfair business practices, etc. And Kate Ritkio, friend of the pod, she did a quick TikTok about how Ben from Summerhouse, something similar happened to him where he was the one that ideated on the idea of Zac Efron's, what's that show on fucking Netflix?
16:38Like Deepwater?
16:39Snark Bait Hosts:Deepwater? No, it's like... It's like Nature starring Zac Efron. It's like Deep Planet or something. Wait, now it's going to bother me. Zac Efron Netflix. Deepwater? Down to Earth. Oh, thank you. I was something with a deep planet. Deep water in nature. Yeah. Down to Earth. Ben from Summer House was actually the one that created, like creatively produced that entire idea, filmed a bunch of it, and then it never came to be. And then Zach Upfront allegedly like stole the idea. But Kit Riccio does a really interesting like TikTok video on this, but just thought that was interesting. This probably happens a lot more than we realize.
17:17Beyond that, she's appeared on Big Brother in 2011. uh true tori like we said yeah that started in 2014 that documented her troubled marriage to dean mcdermott and in 2020 she co-launched the 9021 oh my gosh rewatch podcast with jenny garth she competed on the masked singer in 2019 and on international masked singer editions in 2022 and 2023 which by the way i feel like that show was having such a renaissance not renaissance but like people are obsessed with the show what's the like what i've never watched it i've never watched yeah
17:49Snark Bait Hosts:Yeah, what do you mean you watch The Masked Singer? And not to like yuck anyone's yum. I just like don't understand what's entertaining about like someone singing with a mask on. You have to like guess the like C-list celebrity. Yeah, Claudia Oshway of The Toast, I guess, was on it. And I don't watch or listen to The Toast anymore. But we got a lot of listeners being like, can you guys talk about it? I'm like, what is there to talk? Like, what is there to discuss? I don't understand. I've also just like never met someone who watches it. Like, am I like, is this a real thing? Is this a money laundering scheme?

18:19Snark Bait Hosts:Yeah, like, what streaming service? Like, who is watching this? Who's taking time out of their day? I think it's on, like, primetime, like, network TV. Like, I think it's on, like, ABC or something. Yeah, ever since American Idol, man, they keep trying to, like, copy and paste different formats. The voice. Masked singer. Well, like, Dancing with the Stars. I feel like it's another version of Dancing with the Stars, which is very successful, to be fair. Oh, good point. But, like, I don't know. It's weird. But, yeah, people watch it, I guess. You know, good for you guys. We're not trying to yuck your arm, Ms.
18:49Sophie.
18:49Snark Bait Hosts:Yeah, good for you. If you watch Masked Singer, good. Yeah, good. So she's also an author. She's authored four memoirs, Storytelling in 2008, a New York Times bestseller, Mommy Wood in 2009, Uncharted Territory 2010, and Spelling It Like It Is in 2021. She launched her own podcast, like I said, with iHeartRadio, where she talks about personal stories, candid moments, Hollywood memories, financial struggles, personal health struggles, the whole gamut. We've talked before about how OneSkin isn't just hype or fancy packaging. It's science. Especially during these bitter, cold winter months in New York, my skin feels like sandpaper these days.
19:32Snark Bait Hosts:I'm so desperate for genuinely effective and hydrating skincare. And that's where OneSkin comes in. The OneSkin founding team started out by figuring out that if visible signs of aging like fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of elasticity are all caused by the same so-called zombie cells, the best course of action is to reduce those cells to slow the aging process, instead of just trying to cover it up, you know? Again, this is science, and that's why it works. While most skincare brands are just band-aids to surface-level problems, OneSkin treats skin at the cellular level with their patented OSO1 peptide, the first ingredient proven to target senescent cells, the root cause of those aforementioned wrinkles, crepiness, and loss of elasticity, all the key signs of aging.
20:17Snark Bait Hosts:Don't believe me? These results have been validated in four different clinical studies. OneSkin is the real deal. Born from over a decade of longevity research, OneSkin's OSO1 peptide is proven to target the visible signs of aging, helping you unlock your healthiest skin now and as you age. 25:02So let's now double click into her relationships. In the 90s, she, interestingly enough, had a brief fling with her fellow 90210 co-star Brian Austin Green while they were filming. And she admitted that at the time she was in a relationship with a man named Ryan Ozar, her boyfriend of one and a half years. but she cheated on Ryan with Brian Austin Green. And low-key, I get it because Brian Austin Green used to, I mean, he still is like a very handsome gentleman, but back then he was so fine. And we always fail to forget that Brian Austin Green met Megan Fox on the set of a show that they were both on.
25:36He was 30. Megan Fox was 18. And they subsequently started a relationship. Like that's so predatorial. 18 and 30. Gross. Yes. It's no wonder that they didn't work out. I mean, the age gap was so significant. She wasn't even like a full-fledged adult. Tori Spelling also dated Vincent Young, also a cast member on Beverly Hills 90210. She married writer and actor Charlie Shanian. And like I said up top, they married in 2004 and divorced in 2005. She cheated on him with Dean McDermott, her longstanding husband. And hands down, this is one of the most tumultuous relationships she's ever had between Dean and Tori.
26:13Yeah.
26:13Snark Bait Hosts:And this was, and I know that we'll talk more about this, but like this was the reason that her relationship with her father really fell apart because he spent so much money on this huge wedding. And then she immediately cheated on the husband. Yeah. Like literally within the first year of their marriage, she cheated on Charlie with Dean. And they've just had a really checkered relationship, like between addiction, like odd living situations, tumultuous fighting. Like, I was watching clips of this on TikTok to get, like, a picture of what their relationship was like, albeit obviously didn't watch the entire series.
26:49But it was dark and really, like, emotionally violent. What do you remember from watching the show?
26:53Snark Bait Hosts:I remember it feeling very toxic, even though, you know, it's been forever since I've watched it. And I feel like there was something about them that were like, we are meant to be together because we both – I think that he may have cheated on his ex with her also. Correct. So both of them were like, we have to make this work because we left our lives behind. We're meant to be together. We've gone through so much to be together. We've sacrificed so much. So they would like force it because they had both left their other partners when I think that it was very clear early on that they probably weren't meant to be together.
27:26Well put. I watched this one scene from them in therapy and he storms out. He's like yelling at her in front of the therapist. Oh, God. She storms out of the room and producers come in and they're like, he doesn't want to film. He's not coming home tonight. Like, it just seemed very dark. Yeah. And yeah, emotionally not safe. Yeah, tumultuous for sure. Yes. So yeah, like you mentioned, Tori and Dean were married to other people when they first met on the Lifetime movie Mind Over Matter in 2005. And she had just married Charlie and with this really extravagant wedding. And Dean at the time when he had met Tori was actually married for 12 years to a woman named Mary Jo Eustace.
28:04she's also an actress. And Tori said, it was love at first sight. I fell so hard. Then I noticed he had a wedding ring. And oh yeah, I had a husband too. They slept together that night that they met, both cheating on their respective spouses. Oh my God. They announced their engagement in December 2005 and married in Fiji in May 2006, less than a month after their divorces from their respective spouses were finalized. Yeah.
28:27Snark Bait Hosts:And I remember because her first wedding had been so extravagant and it didn't work out, she was like, let's just like elope on the beach and we'll have like video of us like running on the beach together holding hands and just like we're so, you know, low key because we're eloping. Yeah, it's giving like Heidi and Spencer when they got married in Mexico when they wanted to look because they just wanted to celebrate themselves and then they later had an extravagant wedding. and then they had like the big church ceremony that Elsie left while wearing like a blue mini dress and a massive Chanel bag.
28:57Snark Bait Hosts:Yes, yes. It's always like the beach wedding that people want to prove everyone like that their love is real. It's always the beach elopement. Always. So their relationship was certainly odd from the very start. You know, cheating aside, she once admitted that she gave Dean her old breast implants as an anniversary gift. Pardon? Yes. She said, quote, I took the old implants that I got. I don't think the doctor was supposed to give them to me, but he did. And I put them in like a Lucite box and I made bookends out of them, she said on her podcast. Come on, you guys. You know I like to DIY. I never disappoint.
29:32Come again? Yeah. And Tori goes on to say that Dean offered to return these breast implant bookends back to her after their divorce. And while she was quote-unquote offended that he would ask of such a thing, she accepted it because she's like, listen, we're still really good friends and we co-parent well.
29:46Snark Bait Hosts:Wait, that's so funny that he was like, hey, do you want these back? As if they're worth anything. They're old breast implants. No, I know. And it's like, that's sanitary. Like, I feel like there's like bacteria growing in that bookend. It's just not. That's disgusting. So gross. So just it's kind of also giving just toxic. Like there's nothing that's kosher about this relationship from start to finish, including the weird gifts you're offering to one another. It's really scary. So drama continues to follow them. Seven years after they married in March 2013, Tori denied rumors that her and Dean were headed for divorce.
30:20She's like, listen, I know that you guys are saying that Dean is cheating on me. I assure you that's not the case. But the following month in 2013, Dean did in fact admit, he's like, yes, I did cheat on Tori and I have to go to rehab.
30:30Snark Bait Hosts:I mean, you lose them how you get them. Exactly. Like, what did you really expect? They both clearly have a pattern. Exactly. And the couple's marital lows in the aftermath of Dean's cheating scandal were documented in the reality television series True Tori, which, truth be told, seems like a horrible idea for a couple that is struggling in their marriage off the heels of a cheating scandal. And now you're going to document it for all the world to have opinions on? Yeah. I mean, just it's a recipe for disaster. And I feel like no one's gone on reality television with their spouse and come out of it saying our relationship is stronger.
31:03It's like a curse. Yeah. We see it all the time on Real Housewives. Yeah. And issues in their marriage mainly revolved around Dean's addiction. He said that he and Tori were honestly more like roommates than they were spouses. He said, quote, I just isolated more and more. And she isolated with a kid. Rarely, rarely, rarely did we ever eat together. We'd sit down and have a family meal, but it was always disjointed. He also admits that he would go into rages that left Tori and their five children petrified, he says. He would also pass out to the point where Tori felt the need to make sure that he was still alive.
31:32And he says, yes, alcohol did play a role in my chance to have that affair in 2013. And four years after that affair, when they were still trying to repair their marriage and he was fighting for sobriety, he decided to drink again. And he said it started feeling good enough. It started feeling good enough until it got to a point where it didn't. It ended up in isolation. It ended up with me drinking a fifth of tequila every night, seven days a week, and a handful of Narcos, which is like prescription medication, by myself with a beautiful family in the other room, which I feel like is so common with addiction.
32:01It's like it works until it literally doesn't. Like you rely on it as a crutch and it is a really great coping mechanism until it becomes unsustainable.
32:08Snark Bait Hosts:Yeah, and you hit like rock bottom. Exactly. So in an effort to, you know, revitalize their marriage, as so many housewives often do, as we see on, you know, like Real Housewives of Orange County, Real Housewives of New York, when Shannon Medora and Ramona Singer did like a vow renewal, Dean did something a little bit differently, where he proposed to Tory again in 2016 while they were vacationing with their family in Europe. And despite them trying to like come off as a happy family, oh, I'm reproposing, we're vacationing in Europe with a fam, all is well. They were going, undergoing significant financial struggles.
32:43Snark Bait Hosts:And I remember, I just remember like they were always going through financial struggles, even on their reality show, like early on. Like it always seemed like they were stressed about money, which they clearly were. It wasn't just for the show. And then they kept like having more kids, which I think stressed them out even more. Five. They have five. Yeah, five kids. They share together. Yeah. And, you know, I was actually thinking on this when I was, like, writing this yesterday. I was like, okay, 2016, the couple's financial troubles made headlines after Tori was sued twice by American Express for her unpaid credit card bills.
33:19And you would actually think the opposite, like, with Tori's pedigree and her upbringing and her family and her father being super wealthy, right? She comes from super rich parents. She was 16 when 90210 started. And at its peak, she was making$70 ,000 per episode. And this show aired between 1990 and 2000. So if you just consider inflation, let's just assume$70 ,000 today is like$120 ,000 an episode. So that's a significant amount of cash. And by the way, they aired 293 episodes. So you can imagine if you save that well, that can amount to significant, significant wealth. But you also have to remember, like, coming from the family that she did, she never had to really understand the value of a dollar.
34:01Like, she was literally given everything from the second she was born. And she also didn't work to the extent that she did in a post-Beverly Hills 90210 world. Like, she was used to just living incredibly extravagantly. And she was paid very handsomely. And it's worth pointing out that the only reason that she was even offered the 90210 gig to begin with was because her father was a producer on the show. Like, yeah, I feel like you're never being a nepo baby. Like you're never really a child and you're never really an adult. Like you're constantly towing the line between like as a child, you're in these circumstances and in these rooms where you're constantly surrounded by adults.
34:36So like you're kind of expected to be adult when you're also just like physically a child. But then as an adult, you're never actually asked to ever grow up because like how could you when everything is handed to you? Yeah. I was thinking about this last night. And I'm like, it makes a lot of sense why these people and these children grow up in wealthy families and they amount to really like, I don't mean this like harshly, but they amount to nothing because like they were never expected to be an adult, really.
34:58Snark Bait Hosts:Yeah, definitely like Stimmy's development, I imagine. Yeah. And I think Tori is no exception. She says on her own family that she's created with Dean McDermott. She said, we had some income here and there, but we had no savings apart from our retirement accounts. I have a terrible habit of going into denial about my finances. I think that if I don't deal with it, then it's not real, which is like such a scary place to be in as an adult with a lot of money and a bad spending problem. So things got even more tumultuous when Aaron Spelling died in 2006. So Tori was 33 years old. And when Aaron died, he left his wife Candy a fortune of$600 million.
35:37All the meanwhile, Tori and her brother Randy only received$800 ,000 each per his will. Crazy, crazy. and Tori said, I think part of me in the back of my head maybe hoped it would be different, but I hated myself for hoping it would be different because I didn't want to take advantage. I didn't want to be the girl who needed or wanted my dad's money. But this Tori and Randy definitely felt slighted at the fact that their mother never gave them one ounce of her inheritance. And it basically led to a huge estrangement between Tori and Candy because Tori's like, my dad gave you all this money and you're not willing to give me like a single cent from it?
36:11Make it make sense. And I don't know, Like, what do you think of that dynamic? Like, if your mom gets all this inheritance and she chooses not to give you a lot of money?
36:19Snark Bait Hosts:I mean, if nothing else, I would think, oh, don't you want your grandchildren? Like, you could have a problem with me, your daughter, but don't you want your grandchildren to have, like, a more comfortable, financially secure life instead of, like, we know now they've had so many financial struggles and have lived, you know, in, what is it that they lived in, like, last year? An RV. An RV. in hotels. Yeah, we'll get to that. Like, why would she want that for her grandchildren? But I don't know. I understand that Tori and I guess her brother had a complicated relationship with their parents. And I also can understand the parents being like, you know what?
36:55Snark Bait Hosts:You need to go out there and like earn your own money. Yeah. Yeah. And I think it was a tough love to the extreme. And I think that it's clear Tori got not a cent from her father's inheritance from her mom because in 2016, there was a tax lien from the state of$259 ,000 for unpaid 2014 taxes. Then a couple of years later, Dean and Tori were also slapped with two additional tax liens by the state of California in both 2018 and 2020. So by January of 2023, Radar Online reported that Tori allegedly owed Uncle Sam more than$1.3 million between state and federal tax liens. So like she lets that shit happen not once, not twice, but three separate times.
37:42Snark Bait Hosts:Like it's it shouldn't be that hard to live within your means is the other thing. She has so many like potential streams of income. She's had TV shows. She, you know, made all this money in the 90s. Also, she has published so so many books. She has a substantial Instagram following. Right. But I think that she does not know how to live within her means. And that probably is because of how she was raised. Yes. And she fully, everything you just said, she fully cops that. Yeah. And she says that she believes that the reason she was given such a small inheritance compared to her mom was because Aaron thought that she lacked the self-control to manage anything more than that.
38:22Snark Bait Hosts:Yeah. Candy, her mother, says Tori would close a store and drop 50 to 60K, she said in a New York Times interview in 2014. She goes, I never did anything like that. Tori just went crazy. And I'm not familiar with Candy Spelling's like background, but I imagine she did not grow up with hundreds of millions of dollars. Yeah. Like I would I would go on to say so because I feel like Aaron's wealth is not normal. And I think he self-created that. Yeah. Aaron's wealth was self-made. Yeah. Candy. Yeah. Her father was a salesman. Yeah. She had a regular upbringing. So humble beginnings. She would never walk into a store.
38:58Snark Bait Hosts:That's kind of like kind of like us. Like, I feel like just growing up normal, you would never go into a store. Even if you had that money, you wouldn't be like, yeah, I'm going to spend$60 ,000. I'd be like, no, I don't need to spend$60 ,000. That's insane. That's a yearly salary for some people. Yeah, but like, Tori, that was normal for how she grew up. Wait, that's actually such a good point that you bring up. Like, to even hear someone walking into a store and leaving$60 ,000 less wealthy is not even a concept you and I can understand. And even if I had the means to, I still wouldn't. Like, I would just be like, no, that's insane.
39:32Snark Bait Hosts:But some people grow up in that store mall for them. And they live their life thinking that's normal. They don't know how crazy that is. Exactly. And Tori even joked about it in her memoir where she says, when you grow up with a silver spoon, it's hard to go plastic. Yeah, I mean, I can imagine. Yeah. That's like Erika Jayne. I've been rich and I've been poor. Being rich is a lot more fun. I've been rich and I've been poor. Being rich is far more fun. but like part of that is probably erin and candy's fault like i don't know why they're acting percent acting surprised that they raised this person that is so irresponsible with money who's taking her to stores at a young age where she thinks it's appropriate to be dropping sixty thousand dollars in one like one setting it's you at the end of the day the parents do have to take a little bit of accountability because i know plenty of people rich who treat their kids very differently.
40:21I have someone I know who will gift their daughter for high school like a Cartier watch that's worth like more than$15 ,000. And they think that's normal. I'm like, well, you're basically teaching your kid that she is owed this, that she does not earn this. I don't know. I just have like a lot of thoughts on this because I've seen it. And it wrecks dynamics with families.
40:39Snark Bait Hosts:Well, yeah. It's like they created kind of like a monster. And then we're like, oh, well, you're cut off. And it's like, well, what did you expect would happen? Right. And then the children become entitled to thinking that they are owed this and they get upset when that same thing is not handed to them throughout their lives. Like it creates a very weird complex from a very young age. I also think it's worth pointing out with Tori and Dean, they weren't only just having money problems, but also there were some allegations that they might have been like violent towards one another that would result in like a police call.
41:14So in March 2018, the LAPD confirmed to people that officers had responded to a 911 call at the couple's home. Officers told people that the disturbance call was related to a, quote, domestic incidents and, quote, no crime had been committed and no further details were disclosed. So it sounds like no charges were ever pressed. It wasn't like a Taylor Frankie Paul situation where, you know, someone was the aggressor and they were subsequently arrested. But if you're arguing so loudly to a point where the neighbors need to call 911, there's clearly something going on in that house that's not normal.
41:45Snark Bait Hosts:I mean, it wouldn't surprise me. We know that they have been kind of like emotionally abusive to each other on their shows. So yeah, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it got physical. Right. And even the clip I saw on TikTok of him storming out of that therapist appointment, it was unsettling to a point where I was like, if he's comfortable displaying this level of anger on camera with a bunch of people in that room, what is he doing when cameras aren't around? My imagination was just going wild. He's so gross. Like even just looking at this picture of him on the document, like I just hate him.
42:15He's like, when we talk Talk about pink. It's not even pink. He's like red and just like he looks like he has coke bloat. Yeah, I think that might be what it is. It's literally coke bloat. Do you know what I mean? Like his face looks very bloated and it's not normal. Yeah. Ugh, he's gross. So in June 2023, Tori splits from Dean officially after 18 years together. And he admits at least, he's like, the divorce is on me. He said, quote, all Tori's ever done to this day is want me to be happy and healthy. And I inflicted a lot of damage and pain on that woman. I'm taking accountability for that today.
42:46and it's the biggest amend that I'm ever going to have to make. And in that same month, he announced the couple split in his since-deleted Instagram post. He said on the IG post, it's with great sadness and a very, very heavy heart that after 18 years together and five amazing children that at Tori Spelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and start a new journey of our own. And since he announced his separation from Tori in June, he was photographed kissing new girlfriend Lily Callow, who seems like a beautifully well-put-together woman through this picture. What is she doing with this man?
43:16Lily, I don't know you, but I know you can do better. Yeah, she's like so cute and looks so normal in this picture. Like she needs to run for the hills. He does not seem like a stable man. No. And in November of that year, Tori was spotted sharing a kiss with an advertising executive by the name of Ryan Kramer. He looks very normal to me. Oh, he looks so cute. Good for Tori. Yeah. Like I feel like she needs a normal guy to produce her hecticness. Yes. So Tori officially filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences in March 2024, which, by the way, when is it ever not irreconcilable differences?
43:51Yeah, like what are the other reasons that people can file?
43:53Snark Bait Hosts:Because I feel like it's always that. So I recently learned through a person in my life that's going through a very messy divorce. California is a no-fault state. So, for instance, if you catch your spouse cheating on you in some other states, that is grounds for you to get more money upon the divorce. Like the alimony would shift, things like that. In California, it's a no-fault state. So it doesn't matter if like the husband was to blame for having a cheating scandal. Like that does nothing in court. So maybe that's why it's always irreconcilable differences. You guys, I don't know. I'm not a lawyer.
44:23This is just what I'm hearing from a girl from mine.
44:24Snark Bait Hosts:Yeah, if anyone knows, let us know. Yeah, but Tori sought sole physical custody of their five children in spousal support. And in November of 2025, a judge entered final judgment where the couple amicably settled. Each waived new spousal support beyond agreed upon amounts. They agreed on child support and split joint debt. And Tori ultimately received 90-10 custody in her favor and division of assets. And it was not until after Dean had made the Instagram statement in June announcing their decision to, quote, go their separate ways, that he later admitted that he was drunk when he made the post.
44:57And Tori had urged him at that point, please get treatment. We need to get you into rehab. So that he did. He ended up doing a 40-day stint in rehab and then stayed in a sober living home and didn't see his family for about four months. So he was basically trying to make amends when it was too late by the time the couple decided to split. But he didn't want to do it, apparently, when they were together.
45:17Snark Bait Hosts:I also, something that I just want to flag, because I just got reminded of this with the custody agreement. Dean had a son from a previous marriage, from his previous marriage to Mary Jo Eustace. And I remember on the show, like, it was like a complicated thing that he had a son from a previous relationship. and it like caused a very interesting dynamic where I think the son and Tori, like he was young, but like did not have a great relationship and Dean didn't have a great relationship with him. That's just what I remember. But I totally forgot that he had a son from a previous relationship. Yeah.
45:52Gosh, so this man now has six kids. Yeah. And there's so much public people, I mean, with good reason. I mean, people are critiquing them because you put your life up for everyone to consume and comment on during the darkest parts of your life when you're struggling with addiction, when you're cheating on your wife. Like, I don't know. I just I don't necessarily agree with his life decisions to put his life on blast when he's going through these really, really dark times when he has six kids involved. Like, I'm sorry I'm judging you for doing that. But maybe they were left with no choice because they didn't have money.
46:22And they realized, like, a reality show is the only way we can earn money, which is, like, a very scary place to be in. Yeah, totally. So let's talk about their financial issues amid their divorce. So Dean, when his filing in September of 2025, he claimed that Tori's income varied significantly. Sometimes she would receive$3 ,000 a month, other times$75 ,000 a month, depending on the projects that she was in at the time. He actually owed$215 ,000 between loans and credit card tax. Oh, my God. And this just made me think about how frivolously and why I don't necessarily want to hate on Sidney Sweeney so much for saying that everything costs a lot of money.
46:59because like as an actor, it's not like you show up for a nine to five job and you know exactly that your paycheck, well, I guess right now with layoffs, it's a little bit of a different story. But like reasonably speaking, historically, you have a corporate job, you show up for it, you get a paycheck every two weeks. You have a 401k, you have a bonus, you may have a pension, all is well in the world. But when you're an actress or an actor in Hollywood, you could have a huge gig one day and then be out of work for a decade plus the next. Like it's actually really scary, but I would imagine as an actor, you get your first big paycheck and you're like, fuck yeah, I'm on top of the world.
47:31This is going to continue. But then if you don't find work after that, that makes sense why so many celebrities fall into addiction because the money is so unstable. And you're expected just because you're a celebrity that people assume you're rich when in fact it's like being a celebrity is a lot of money between like glam, security, lawyers, publicists, PR. All of it is expenses. Like the gross versus net I'd imagine is very different because you just have so many more expenses. But I would imagine for Tori, because at one point she was living off of$70 ,000 a month per or$70 ,000 per episode when she was on 90210.
48:05Like, yeah, she's used to that. She started on that show from 16 to 26. So she's like, fuck yeah, this is how I've lived life for like my early to like adult years. Why wouldn't the money of$75 ,000 per episode continue to come? But then it just doesn't.
48:19Snark Bait Hosts:Right. So you're kind of left to do this weird books and reality shows and just weird ways to make money. I've become so much more of an ingredient stickler as I've gotten older. Like what exactly am I putting in my body? 51:21So let's talk about some of her scandals and rumors. So as Sophie mentioned, there was a point in time where she was like, she was homeless. Her and her five kids began living in an RV after their home became infested with black mold. So she moved her children, ages Liam, who's 16, Stella, who's 15, Hattie, 11, Finn, 10, and Bo sick, into a mobile home on campgrounds in Ventura County. following their brief stint in a motel, which was allegedly$100 a night. And this made me super confused when I was reading all these, like, articles about this in 2023, because I was like, coming from a woman who self-admittedly has very expensive taste, when did it stop where she was like, I actually need to live in a motel and I need to live in a camper van to make ends meet?
52:02Like, something must have significantly changed her. She took her tax liens incredibly seriously and was like, I'm scraping pennies.
52:09Snark Bait Hosts:Yeah, it sounds like that was the only thing she had the budget for, which those poor kids. Like, I can only imagine how stressful the financial issues and the marriage issues have been on them. Right. During their developmental years. Right. And this is just three years ago and her oldest was only 16 years old. So, I mean, these kids have gone through the gamut. It's really sad when you think about it. There were photos obtained by the Daily Mail because count on the Daily Mail to have the most, like, so many photos of, like, people's most— Unflattering. I know. Their darkest moments. Darkest moments, exactly.
52:41The family was seen sitting outside in a circle of lawn chairs while watching the sunset. And it looked like they were fully equipped to be living there for quite a while. They had a cooler, a stove, a pop-up table, a massive rug to keep down the dust. And it was like a truly rags to riches moment. But then it made me think about to your earlier point, Sophie. Wait, you mean riches to rags? Riches to rags. Sorry, yeah. Riches to rags. It brings up your earlier point about how here is this grandma who has$600 million in inheritance from her late husband who refuses to lend her daughter money to make sure that her grandchildren are doing well enough to where they're not living in a camper van.
53:18It's just like, I don't know. It makes me kind of side-eye, Candy Spelling, a bit.
53:21Snark Bait Hosts:I mean, yeah, it's sad. Like, I feel like Candy Spelling letting her grand— Like, put your issues with your daughter aside. Yeah, and think about your grandchildren. I don't know. I don't know. I also noticed, like, with her— Like, even before the RV thing, I remember with her, like, Instagram content, she would be like cooking like fried quesadillas for lunch for her kids. Like she never was using like produce or like, I don't know, like healthy ingredients. Like it always felt like she was scraping the bottom of the barrel with her living conditions for her kids, which made me sad. It's like they need nutrients.
53:56Snark Bait Hosts:I don't know. That was just something that I've observed from her Instagram content that I think is just crazy. Yeah, I'm actually glad you're bringing up the living situation in general. So there's been a lot of allegations thrown around by, honestly, self-admittedly by Tori and her podcast co-host about the way that she lives her life and her home. So in early February of this year, people reported that Tori had been ill for two plus months with multiple infections, requiring her children between the ages of eight and 18 to care for her while she was like down and out. And she does return to her podcast, The Misspelling podcast in mid-February 2026 after an eight-week hiatus saying that the ordeal was hell.
54:37And her co-host was like, well, the state of your home is so bad that it probably is contributing to your illness and like your perpetual illness. She said that you have like 400 stacks of shit amongst just like distributed in and around your home, just stacks and stacks of just junk. And Tori's like, listen, I think I do live in a borderline hoarder situation. Page Six got a hold of a couple photos of the state of her home in Calabasas. And there's photos, I mean, just by looking at this photo, it's not horrible, but like the driveway is just, there's a bunch of shit all over it. And that's just the driveway, obviously.
55:08It's a 3 ,100 square foot home that's filled with junk on the driveway, like an ATV, a scooter, a motorized kids' car, some random thing, maybe like a mower, a lawnmower covered with a tarp. And Tori says, my divorce was so severe, my mental health was so severe that I couldn't even like clean up after myself.
55:23Snark Bait Hosts:At least she has like self-awareness, I feel like. Like, she's not, like, diluting herself into thinking that any of her, you know, self-inflicted problems are, like, like, she realizes that they are not normal. One million percent. The hoarding, the spending. Like, she knows that she has problems. Like, she doesn't try to act like it's normal and everything is fine and dandy, which I appreciate about her. Yeah. There's totally a self-awareness that, for instance, Craig Conover doesn't have. At least she knows, but it's her willingness to basically say, like, I was so paralyzed by my anxiety for my divorce.
56:00I couldn't do anything about it. And I think all of us to some extent can relate to that a bit, maybe to this extent. But, like, we appreciate a self-aware queen. Totally. One last thing that I thought was just odd and bizarre, and I don't really know what's true. I'm sure you saw on her show, Sophie, what was the animal situation? Do you remember, like, a bunch of dogs in the house? Or maybe that was really spotlight.
56:20Snark Bait Hosts:I don't really remember, but it wouldn't surprise me if they had like a bunch of random animals living there. Yeah. So she had like many dogs, cats, like normal domesticated animals. But Dean claimed in a 2023 interview that a pig sleeping in their bed caused marital issues alongside his addiction, of course. But Tori was like, no, no, no, no, no. Don't bring the pig into it. The pig slept in our bed one time. OK, in 2017. Stop saying like it was a perpetual thing that the pig was sleeping with us. I mean, I would go so far as to say just a pig sleeping in your bed just one night is a little too much.
56:51What do you think?
56:52Snark Bait Hosts:I have questions. Like, if the pig is curled up at the foot of your bed, like a dog, like that's how Baxter sleeps, like I could live with that. I mean, I don't know if I could live with that. But I could, like, excuse it for someone I love. If the pig was, like, literally under the covers, like, in between us, like, laying, like, on its side. Yeah, like you were spooning with the pig. Spooning with the pig. Like, that I wouldn't be okay with. That's what I'm envisioning, though. Like, I'm envisioning the pic between Dean and Tori. Same, because it's sleeping in bed. It's the word in. Like, sleeping on the bed?
57:25Right. Different. You're right. That word matters a great amount between in and on the bed. So, and I'm thinking of this one TikToker that I follow. I apologize. I don't know her handle. But she does have a pet pig. And he has his own, like, twin bed that he sleeps on. And it's, like, really. Stop.
57:41Snark Bait Hosts:It's really cute. Pigs are, like, really cute. And I also, like, don't really, like, eat, like, pork or anything. Yeah. Not for any, like, kosher, like, moral reasons. It's just I never grew up eating it. So, like, I don't know. I feel like if you live with a pig, like, you better make sure you're not eating bacon. Oh, 100%. I mean, you're being a, I was going to say carnivore, a cannibal in your own home. Yeah. No, I completely agree. The pig was just one of many things that they had in their home. Pigs, a pig, multiple dogs, and a chicken just, like, running amok in the living room, I'm imagining.
58:15Oh. Huh. Huh. I guess whatever floats your boat, I guess. I've heard of, yeah, pigs and chickens living on the outside, but on the inside is a different thing. Yeah. And in a 20 - You know what?
58:26Snark Bait Hosts:I can understand why Dean hit his breaking point. He's like, listen, I'm struggling with alcohol. I'm struggling with marital issues. And you add a pig in the fucking mix. We're fucking bankrupt. Yeah. Like, I got to draw the line somewhere. And the pig is where he said, along with his addiction, led to their breakup. God. In a 2023 interview, Dean told the Daily Mail that he insisted on separate sleeping arrangements in 2017 because of the pig sleeping in their shared bedroom. And Tori says, no, no, no. In 2024 on her podcast, she said it was Dean's choice that the former couple sleep in different bedrooms for three years, but insisted that the decision to part ways and sleep in separate bedrooms was not due to the pig.
59:03Again, I don't know who to believe, but the fact that the pig is even in the conversation in the mix shows you how dysfunctional this couple is.
59:08Snark Bait Hosts:Yes, I think that's the best word to describe them is just dysfunctional from day one. Yeah. So, you know, that's kind of all she wrote on Tori Spelling for this specific episode. There is just a lot of nuggets in here that I think speak to a woman who at some point we have to give her a little bit of grace because. Totally. Someone that grew up in the kind of environment that she did, it's kind of not a surprise in the way that she turned out. And I do appreciate the self-awareness. I think above all else, like we were talking about with the Taylor-Frankie-Paul incident a couple weeks back, we just mainly care about the kids and their well-being.
59:43Like, I want well for Tori and Dean, of course, as humans, but, like, I want to make sure the kids are kept top of mind in all of this.
59:49Snark Bait Hosts:Absolutely. And I also, like, I do have a lot of sympathy for Tori. And I do kind of want the best for her. I don't know, maybe it's, I feel a little bit parasocial with her because I, you know, watched her on TV for so long, you know? I don't know. Like, I feel like, like you said, we have to give her grace because of how she was raised and then subsequently cut off. And is she perfect? No, she cheated on her husband after meeting a guy just that night she slept with him and then left her husband after their extravagant wedding. Like, that's not, like, great. but I don't know like I feel like obviously a lot of her problems are self-inflicted right and at least she has the awareness to recognize that she has problems financially you know domestically I have a lot of sympathy for her me too I don't think she's a horrible person I think she's her own worst enemy honestly I completely agree so she's definitely not dark energy it's just yeah she's scattered and probably has some kind of like maybe I don't know Maybe something like clinically too.
1:00:54And I don't mean that in a judgmental way, like at all.
1:00:56Snark Bait Hosts:I think she's also like someone that is deeply insecure and has always been deeply insecure. Yeah. How could you not growing up the way she did? Growing up the way she did and not being the most conventionally beautiful person. You know, being in Hollywood and surrounded by her beautiful co-stars of 90210. And not saying that Tori Spelling is like a hideous beast or anything. It's just she was never like, and she has admitted this, that she was never like the most beautiful girl in the room. And then she got a bunch of plastic surgery and procedures to make herself beautiful. And then she still, I think, struggles with her appearances.
1:01:31Snark Bait Hosts:So I think that that also probably, you know, plays a role that she is just a deeply insecure person. And that's probably why she accepted such horrible treatment and such a toxic relationship with her husband over the years. Yeah, that's such a good point. I think that I didn't even bring that up. But now that you're bringing that up, that makes so much sense. Like you're amongst a cast of the hottest like players in Hollywood. And everyone knows you're there because you're dead. So I'd imagine it's a bit of like an imposter syndrome as well. It's like, one, I don't belong here because my daddy just got me the job.
1:02:01And two, I'm surrounded by like Shannon Doherty and Jenny Garth and Brian Austin Green. And I'm kind of like, not the ugly duckling, but just like a little bit of a black swan. And she probably was just reaching for love with Dean.
1:02:13Snark Bait Hosts:Yeah, totally. And like I said, I feel like they thought they were star-crossed lovers because they'd been through so much to be together. Oh, my God. I know someone actually who I obviously will keep it very vague. But I know someone who cheated on their spouse and ended up marrying the person that they cheated with and leaving their spouse and posted something on social media like we went through hell to be together. When everyone knows the story, it's like, oh, you went through so much. I know that it was something like, I know we're meant to be together because we had to go through hell on earth to make it here.
1:02:48Snark Bait Hosts:Something like that. It's like, oh, don't act like you like had this tumultuous thing just because you cheated on your spouse to be together. Like, yeah, that's that's cognitive dissonance at its finest. Yeah. You did a shitty thing, but you're going to make it seem like it was all work. Like, yeah. No, I don't buy that. Yeah. Cognitive dissonance, I feel like, is the perfect way to put it. Yeah. So, yeah, that's that on that, you guys. yesterday on the Patreon we talked all things Heath Ledger my god what a talent that was gone far too soon all the lore around him so if he's gonna walk us or walked us through it and patreon.com slash snarkbait pod for all bonus content every Wednesday and ad free shows Tuesday, Thursday all of our live shows are in the link in our bio in our subsect, subsect.com slash at snarkbait pod where we are posting reality TV recaps, links that we're loving, funny quotes by guest celebrity.
