In short

The hosts (Fashion Neurove Scenes) chat about tech hype (Gemini + Chrome), their personal mental health (asthma, anxiety, repressed anger, weird dreams), heavy drinking and “time running out” career pressure, weekend nightlife mishaps, and staying sane while living/working in London. They also discuss a film (Hit the Road), death/fear-of-loss thoughts, Christmas party illness trends, and songwriting/album cohesion.

Guests

No named guests appear; it’s a two-host conversation featuring Sue and Lou (with Louis and Bill mentioned as part of their circle).

Guest backgrounds

Not applicable (no guest bios). Sue and Lou are music/creative performers who DJ and make songs/podcasts; they reference industry contacts (e.g., Fabian; Dove Ellis).

Key claims

Drinking is used to calm ADHD/anxiety; people “aren’t taken seriously until 25”; cohesive albums can become boring; London life requires intentional downtime; avoidant men say hurtful things due to attachment issues.

Notable examples

Lost Club in Covent Garden (trans-inclusive but “weird”); Uber driver yelling after a passenger “man-spreading” and a huge fart; Christmas parties with nits/bed bugs; their song “Me and the Girls” hook about wanting to get older; “Hit the Road” (Channel 4) as a grief/future-loss depiction.

0:28So good, so good, so good. Google Chrome. You think you know a browser, but Gemini and Chrome? That's new. It can help you with practically anything on the web, like restoring a vintage motorcycle from a 50-page restoration block, or finally break down that long article you've had open for weeks. Gemini and Chrome is here for it. Ready to make anything online make sense? There's no place like Chrome. Check responses set up required, compatibility and availability varies 18+. Welcome to Fashion Neurove Scenes. Someone told me the other day that we need to subtitle when we're doing things that don't have...

1:02Because a lot of people are just listening to our podcasts and they use the example of Sophie biting one of us. That we need to explain what has happened. Now I personally think that that's kind of a nice little... Just one for the heads, you know? Yeah. A little bit of lore. And otherwise they just think we're just kind of clawing at each other ourselves. So the thing is, guys, I'm ill. And I have asthma. I had my asthma over this morning. And I just can't give another piece of me to something in which, like, I'm ill. You can't give another piece of you to what? The podcast? The world. What, the divas?

1:46I can't do it. Now I've got to explain when I'm bitten by a cat. What else do you want? Can you explain when I get fired from a job? Do you feel like you overextend yourself a lot? No. That's good. I had a dream last night. I killed three people, Louis, with a flamethrower. And on the last one, I cut the head off and then I... I hate that. I actually do hate that so much. And I hate it when I listen back and that happens. I really hate it. Let's talk about your dream, honey. Last night... Last night, I was at a bandango.

2:22Let's get into it I use into mermaids Do you believe in mermaids? I just I do Do you remember when Gemma Collins went to the hair salon To try and get over a breakup And then she had a breakdown Because it just didn't fix anything Lovely, lovely Gemma Sorry Do you believe in mermaids? I do They're scary You killed three people I killed three people in my dream With a flamethrower Which means apparently I've got repressed anger and rage. I think I do. Were the people recognisable faces? No. So it was just like, it's kind of scaring me at the minute. I've been waking up, I've had a really weird past couple of days.

3:00I was eating dinner yesterday. God, that's mental. Yeah. And I burst out crying for no reason. I think I'm just ready to tie up the year. Yeah. I'm ready for my birthday. My birthday's on the 19th, girls. Oh, bloody hell. Get ready with the PR packages. Oh, kidding. I don't think I've been invited to anything I haven't done anything yet Louis But we will be doing something But yeah So I killed three people in my dream And what's your substantiation I killed them with fire and watched them burn to death And like melt Why is there any more context beyond that No I woke up in a bad mood Because of it because I was like what have I done What have I done I don't want to kill people Yeah it was crazy I was crying And your analysis of it Or at least from online You've got repressed anger Or like you're ready for a new chapter in your life And I've got both Who are you angry about?

3:59Or what are you angry about? I think I'm angry in general But I think I really do hold it in I think if you really saw how angry I was Or upset I deeply am I wouldn't be very likely Because you've got the funny bones Yeah Where you can get it back with funny But I think I'm really good at communicating anger Like oh I feel angry so I'm going to go calm down instead of lashing out. Whereas I think sometimes maybe I need to flip a table or two. Maybe I need to punch a toddler. Stop being so fucking nonchalant. Yeah. A beachful name for a baby girl. This is nonchalant. She's 38 weeks. She's got a big forehead, but she's still pretty.

4:39Well, I'm really sorry that you, that happened to you. It's okay. Yeah, I'm not very rested. And we got a DJ set tonight Yeah we do What a DJ set tonight, how are you? How was your week? Well, god where to start So it's been a pretty heavy one drinking wise Yeah It is the season where it's just inescapable Yeah Thursday night I went to a little venue called Lost Club Oh yeah Where you were apparently invited I was invited by Bambi, yeah Shout out Bambi But let's be real, girls I don't go out I like the invite though, thanks Bambi And I, so I had never heard of Lost Club before Thursday night And I was with a friend at a gig And she was like, do you want to go to Lost Club?

5:33I was like, I don't know what that is She was like, you don't know what Lost Club is? I don't think many people do And I was like, no And then I'm like, what is it? And she's like, it's this club that opened very recently. My friend went last week. It's in an old Odeon cinema in Covent Garden. And it's closing in... Yeah, it's closing by the end of the year. Yeah. Yeah. Which apparently I've later found out isn't true. It's closing at the end of March. So anyway, this is all useful context for why I was initially like, fuck yeah, I'll go. That sounds cool. Old cinema, limited time only. Trans girls I'm already a few bits down Well no I didn't even know what night was on I was just like okay let's go Anyway get there And it's like one of these things where it's like Put your phones in a Like a lockable lanyard Yeah the box does that as well You've never been to the box?

6:31Never been to the box Oh we must go Really? Well it's not that fierce You went back in the party days Babe I'd drink for free They'd invite us in We'd skip the queue Oh yeah, we've spoken about this. Because you've got all the freaks in. The box is quite expensive, right? Yeah. It's where straight finance bros go to let loose and the whole gag is there's a woman who's stripping on stage and it turns out she's a trans woman. She gets dick out and everyone screams. It's really not fierce. And then all these Chinese are all sat around the table. It's very weird. And then the owner... Right. Well, interestingly, I feel like it was kind of a similar vibe.

7:07Like, so I don't know what the night was, but I recognized a few boys and girls from the scene, as they put it. But there was also like bankers or like rich 21 year olds. But unlike what I imagine the box to be, which are like in the sense that like I imagine it's actually quite nice and like it's a proper club. this was just an odn cinema and it's like i'm paying you know 15 quid for a double g and t in a cinema in a fucking cinema and you know if anyone's listening that i spoke to shout out but i don't know if it really lived up to any expectation there was part of the problem was there was a private party next door right which apparently was a charity auction people are talking about yeah like oh yeah like i literally like my friend's dad is the nicest guy i literally like as a joke put my hand up for like 800 quid on a bed and like he was just like no no it's fine like i've got you and i was like oh wow we're like i'm in yeah i'm in money town anyway me and me back at school yeah right exactly it's good to be back No, I'd rather take the disgusting grotty club Yeah What about a rich disgusting grotty club?

8:32I've never been, I've never really like done We should do the box I've never done a table club or anything like that A table club? Yeah, like a club where you can book a table Oh right, yeah, yeah And they bring out Grey Groove Yeah, and there's sparklers and shit I've never done that Not that I'd be opposed, but it's just Not the music I go for, I guess all the people I go for really but anyway Lost was interesting and was just a bit weird Lost all inhibition it just made me think that they've just mastered the art of going like it's in an old Odeon cinema it's open for two months and we'll get cool kids to come out and who knows how long it'll last but it was pretty fucking weird and then there was just a lot more drinking over the course of the weekend and it just kind of um you know but lovely drinking nonetheless christmas parties ahoy wine and cheese meats and cheeses always pleases um but i would quite like to just skip to try january if that was i know i've definitely got a drinking problem yeah but that's okay it's hard to judge at this time of year because it's so it's obviously not a problem.

9:48Environmental. Yeah, and I quit smoking, so I'm like, okay. Yeah. One down. I'll go sober in me and the wife have decided that we're going to both go sober and Jan. Yeah. But Jan ain't right now. What are you going to talk about, though? I just love being drunk. What are you going to talk about if you're sober? What, we're going to talk? Yeah. We're not going to. You and Bill? Just talk body. Oh. Wake that up. But I, uh, I think yeah, Yeah, drinking's getting to me. I am drunk every night. It's probably why I'm having bad dreams because it's like I've been sober for two days. Will I be drunk tonight?

10:21Well, yes. Will I be drunk tomorrow night? Yes. Will I be drunk Thursday night? Yes. Yeah. So it's like you already know it's coming. And it's that thing. It's just like I look forward to it. And I was at Winter Wonderland. I kind of said to everyone, like, oh, I'm just excited to be drunk. And everyone was like, are you okay? And then I'm like, oh, does it sound like I've got an issue? But it's like I don't drink to not get drunk. Why would I pay like£10 for a drink? Wait, sorry. I don't drink to not get drunk. Yeah. Like if you, do you, when you drink, do you drink for the taste? You know, people I drink because I like the taste of you.

10:52I drink to get drunk. I like the taste of Robinson's or in squash, but I'm drinking a 12 pound April spritz to get me drunk. For sure. I think that's such a lie when people are like, I just like the taste. I'm like, you're lying. Yeah. I feel well, I feel like. If you like the taste, you have one or two. Why are you having 16? But there are levels to it. No. An Aperol spritz is more enjoyable than straight. Absolutely. Absinthe. But you could have a glass of orange juice, which I would argue is nicer than everything. Yeah, true. But when you drink, you're not drinking like the... Yeah, you're drinking to get drunk.

11:26You're not drinking shots, though. Which would be like the most efficient. Yeah. Yeah, so. Yeah, but there's still the end goal is to end the night a bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, do you know what I mean? That's what I like. I like just being like free. Yeah. To be honest, because I've got ADHD, guys. It calms my brain. It just calms me down. And at the minute, I just feel so anxious. I guess I am anxious. I've got a lot of pepped up anxiety in me. Yeah. I think we haven't, well, I haven't made money in months. Yeah. But hey, we're about to make money. We're about to make some. But I'm like, it's just like the thought of January and February, knowing how quiet it gets, I'm just anxious.

12:05And then you pair that with lots of drinking. Lots of drinking, going to see family that you don't necessarily want to see. Do you know what I mean? Like talking to people that you don't necessarily want to talk to And I don't want to be that girl That's like oh it's an anxiety inducing time But like it's a fierce time It is for sure It can't be hard I think that's not a Crazy thing to say And I'm also turning the age in which I'm kind of on the tippy top of mid 20s I've got like one more year Oh you've been thinking about that You've been mulling over age Everyone I hang out with is older than me right you're the only of age person i really really hang with which is comforting or yeah yeah because i'm like i'm not as old as you guys yeah yeah old freaks no um but it's more like you know i'm aware that things matter now and like music matters and like it's my job and like there's meaning towards everything and i think it beats being 21 doing things for fun like i'm I'm still having fun, but like, it's all for something.

13:09I think I'm... And it's like my last chance, really. Last chance, see, that's... Not my last chance, but it's like...

13:20Yeah. It is. Like, I'm getting to the age now where it's like, I need to start making like firm decisions on what's going to confirm my future. When they say this at uni, where it's like, you need to make choices now that affect your future. That's a lie. On 2025, I remember reading something when I was younger, when I was at 21, it said, no one's going to take you seriously until 25. That is genuinely some of the best advice I've ever taken because as someone who's now older than 25, genuinely, if someone's younger than 25, everyone says, when you're brought up in a room, but she's 23. Do you know what I mean?

13:51Oh, she's 22. Do you know what I mean? Like, it is like, don't stress. You can swap change. I can still swap change. I'll be 42 and if I want to change career, I fucking will. But there is this thing on me that I'm like, no one takes you seriously until 25. Now people are finally taking me seriously and i'm just kind of like oh shit like i actually have to do things now i don't want to be one of those girlies that are just kind of like known for like tiktok like i want to move do you know i mean i want to make like it's not even i want to make money moves even though i do like it's more like gaming like doing the things i want to do and be able to do them full time like i love doing this how do we make this like i know it's our job now which is great but like how do we definitely like ensure that we can keep this as our jobs you know and it stay as a job instead of just like something that we do for fun.

14:35Because also the gag is, we've just got, we've achieved something that hasn't came out, but the trailer came out for it. We haven't been doing this podcast a year, and that was our job. And we're like being recognized by people. For sure. So I'm like, I'm very aware that like, okay, within two years, I think this could be really big. Yeah. And last week, it was very heartwarming seeing people post about us. Yeah. 100 yeah on their stories and it also and I rapped and then also like we're DJing for Charlotte North and Miss 60 tonight which is crazy I tried so hard to be a DJ for so long and then I started a podcast and that was all it and then now we're DJs what is that but okay I think it's I really don't know where that went from it's good I think it's interesting I think it's something that everyone feels it's a universal feeling especially if you're in something uh artistic it's like fuck i really want to make this count but like this idea of time running out it's like it's you you spoke about it there in like two breaths one was like quite uh fear inducing and one was quite positive like there was the idea that like time is running out which is fear inducing but then there was the idea of like okay now it's time to make it count like when nobody takes you seriously till you're 25 and like i was having fun and now it's more purposeful but it's such a fine line and then like i i feel like personally i outwardly say like it doesn't matter because i don't think it does unless you're trying to be like forbes under thing major label cookie cutter a pop star yeah i don't really think it does matter that much but in my own head with my own uh career or artistic wants i am constantly thinking like fuck fuck fuck times and it leads you to this like sort of impatience which can be helpful in small doses because you're like let's make it happen but i also find it's just more counterproductive because it's just like hang on i'm doing this because i like it yeah forget the bullshit i'm doing this because i like it let's just stay on track let's just enjoy it it's interesting isn't it because even like i think about death a lot because as of this year like this has been the best year of my life the past like four or five years every year it's every year's got better i feel like i got closer to where i want to be and closer to like how i want to be this year has by far been the best year of my life however like because of that i'm just like so i'm gonna go on to the film we talked about before yeah there's a film called i literally just pulled it up um it's called hit the road hit the road it's on channel four by pana panahi yeah it's my uh my wife's favorite film and we watched it the other day and i wasn't really concentrating well was concentrating but basically i don't i don't want to like spoil it but basically she like loses her son in it right not going to explain how whatever like you need to watch it to see how she loses him it's not he doesn't die or anything but in the end she's basically like driving off and he's like this music scene and she's driving off and like it she's she the acting is fierce drag jules and she just like starts crying and then she like slaps her face herself crying like it's a perfect depiction of like you know when like you start feeling sad or like bad i think and i just thought i was like oh my god like we're gonna start losing shit quite soon do you know i mean whether it's someone die or like you know or you lose even what we talked to tolly about the other week where it's like okay say if we both go on on fucking tour you lose your mate's birthdays or you lose seeing your mates or you lose seeing your friends get married or whatever and obviously that's just like i don't like to put like this part of me I'm like, oh my God, like this freedom thing is going in a way to just gain more freedom.

18:40But because of that, like your social gets really small. Like my social circle is really small now. And I don't know how it's happened. But it's only going down. Yeah, I know. Exactly. Like, and it's only ever going to go down. It's such a strange thing. But to the world, it looks like it's up. So it's really strange. I find it such a strange thing. Yeah. I mean Like I look at someone Like my mum's age Yeah Or like Look at my mum Like Two of her four best friends Died in the last Ten years Do you know what I mean And when you get to a certain age It's just crazy But like Yeah Back to the thinking of death thing I I'm not thinking about Like how I'm gonna die Yeah But I'm thinking I'm firstly terrified of death So And secondly I I'm doing that narcissistic thing Where I'm imagining how people would react when I die.

19:32Babe, all I do all day is think like, well, if I die before Bill, how's Bill going to get on? And if he gets on, that's fine. But like, how will I know, how will I like let him know how loved he is? And I might, if Bill dies, I'll, fuck knows what I'll do. Yeah. I mean, I'll obviously get on like, because we all do. That's also the most amazing thing in a way is like, people do, you do just get on. Yeah. So it has changed. But then we, I don't know, I haven't had anyone in my nearest and dearest circle pass. Who's excited for tuning straight Yeah fucking Who's excited Let's switch it up What else do you want to talk about Okay wait so In my weekend bonanza drinking Fun time I went to a party on Friday And then went back to my friend Terry's And then was leaving Terry's in a cab I'm with two friends Who I won't name due to the nature of the story One friend Tries bringing an open can Of beer into the Uber The other friend Tries to bring a can of hooch into the Uber And I'm not Condurning that fucked up there but you know We were pretty drunk I didn't bring anything into the Uber

20:47Uber immediately is like No way Get that out of the cab now One friend takes it out Other friend hasn't opened it so it's fine blah blah blah So Uber driver's kind of like Visibly a little bit fucked off Yeah yeah yeah And fair enough right But also calm down Yeah Like But also it's 7am So he's probably already dealt with some fucking drunk idiots Yeah yeah yeah And then we come fucking strolling out 7am girl How are you staying out at 7am? Why do you think I'm late every podcast? And then I get in the front seat and then I'm just kind of like sitting and I can confidently say I wasn't man spreading for anyone listening.

21:31I was kind of sitting like this, like legs bunched together because I was kind of, you know, maybe a bit hunched over, maybe a bit polite, maybe trying to kind of not piss this guy off more. Yeah, exactly. When you can read someone's pissed off. Exactly. And then all of a sudden he just fucking flips out of me. What the fuck? What the fuck are you doing, man? Bro, like why are you taking up so much space, man? at the front of the cab I'm like I'm just thinking like wait how am I taking off wait what like I'm it's just in your passenger seat even if I was like fucking spreading man spreading to fuck like yeah like I can't possibly encroach in your space anyway so I'm like I'm about to fucking not like go off but like what what are you talking about like what are you on about and before I can do it is he on the phone no no no he's just talking to me he hasn't he hasn't set off yet right what the fuck Before I can ask What's going on Friend in the back Let's off the biggest fart

22:36That is so bad And then immediately Straight away he's like get the fuck out Now And we're like nah nah Immediately get out He gets out as well All four doors of the cab are open it's like it's like perfect comedy it's like we're all stood up outside of the cab with the door open looking at each other he's looking at us like how the fuck could you and fair enough like he says to my friend he's like i wouldn't come to your workplace and disrespect you like this yeah and i was like you know what fair enough and i was like you know what mate sorry like um we'll get another cab yeah and then um fuck we just end up like bursting laughing but i never I never got to find out I never got to find out What his problem was with me Well he just had a problem Didn't he Yeah What a weirdo Did you give him one star I never I always I always give people five stars Even when they're fucking rude Yeah exactly There are points now where I don't know whether I'm just getting to like Karen age But I'm just like There are points where like You're getting an Uber And they're like So rude And they'll be like saying shit And you're just actually like Bitch I know this is your livelihood So I'm still gonna give you five stars Cause I'm a dickhead But like That was so rude Like that was so rude I haven't rated the cab yet.

23:55I just immediately got another cab. So I probably had to rate it there and then. Elsewhere in weekend news, like that I'm kind of, you know, soaking up from the culture right now. I'm noticing a trend, Sue. Yeah. And that trend is people turning up to Christmas parties or Christmas lunches. 700. Ill. Fucking. Ill. Not just ill. Not just with flu. Not just with stomach bugs. Why turn it on with a stomach But with fucking knits With knits Where are you finding this out South East London Why are you wearing a hat I'm wearing a hat because I look sexy You look sexy, you do a beautiful show Then Knits And then bed bugs Bitch don't come to the Fucking blowout with mites Yeah Leprosy Yeah exactly No literally what's next What is next Like I'm trying to dodge illnesses Left right and centre Thank god I was ill For two and a half weeks Christ on a bike How old are we Are we at primary school Yeah Is this Melbourne Nits it's crazy Babe you don't need to go To the Christmas party If you've got nits Also no one wants to go To the Christmas party Just cancel it I thought I didn't And then I had the best time So I thought I didn't And then it was full of Sparkles and glitter And J2O glitter berry Hamish made for catcher Oh That's That's so nice And he bought some I followed Hamish back The other day Oh did you Is it Hamish The management company No Who's your mate Fabian Follow Fabian back Sorry they're two posh names And you know what I'm glad you brought up Fabian Because fucking shout out Fabian Shout out Fabian My friend One of my closest friends From the music industry His artist Dove Ellis Has just released an album And it's really brilliant And Fabian All AMF And Black Butter And Black Butter Shout out Eve And Fabian works harder Than anyone I know And it's Wow And he came through A lot No he's a freak Like a real sucker Yeah I can imagine Yeah Not condoning that I follow Fabian back Yeah I don't know why He came into my head Or maybe I saw him post Or no Because he would have Put the story on And everyone was reposting What a legend But go listen to Dove Ellis' album but he was actually...

26:19Thoughts on that? I still haven't listened to it. I like it. I don't geese to have Ellis vibes like love. It's not my vibe. In truth, I think men having feelings are disgusting. I'm surprised to hear you even say... I like it. But he's obviously disgustingly talented. Do you want to break down your song? I was thinking it would be cool to like... I don't know if you have earlier versions of it. I don't we did it in literally one session Maybe have voice notes Just like it would be cool To get some origins And I have like Two different versions Three different versions of hip to be done Do you know what's really embarrassing Is when people comment on your photos Did you used to work as a barista Why don't you shut your fucking mouth Someone DM'd me last night Saying please don't lose your hair You're so funny T

27:19yeah i don't have any clips of it oh no maybe i do um yeah Yeah, the voice. Yeah, it was like... We all the girls are trying to get old. Hey. We can't believe all the shit we were talking. Thank you for me, we won't cause it all. Me and the girls wanna get out of the car. Cause you could like repeat it over and over and just get more like... Grrr. You could have been more mad. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's it. Yeah. Is that Sam? Yeah.

28:04Are these on different days or the same day?

28:19so um yeah the girls is out now it's actually about someone actually commented the lyrics it's like me and the girls are trying to get old and someone said as a queer person that means a lot and I was like so you girls can see it so you can see it that's what I mean means so you can see the life expectancy of like trans women 35 years old like yeah I want to get old I want to be old and weird and floating through yeah and And I think that is basically what the song's about. It's like people, women and girls get murdered all the time. Yeah. We all just actually just want to be like. Did you know like that you wanted to write a song about that before?

28:59I've always had that hook. Me and the girls are trying to get older. I've had for years. Oh, really? Yeah. And I just never put music to it. And then Joe started playing this piano piece. And I was like, wait. Oi. Mash it up. He shelled it. And he absolutely was shelling it on the piano. Okay. And then he, yeah, we started putting that on. And I was like, me and the girls, we don't believe what the show we've done. And then that was it. And then it just kind of came together really quickly. And verses come together in one same day? Yeah, it all came together. We recorded it all in a day. The vocals are from the first day.

29:29We never really recorded anything. Damn. Damn. It took four hours. It was really quick. I'm just so jealous of you because my process takes so much longer. Show me Hit To Be Done first one. Hit To Be Done first version is maybe better than the one we released. is this it? it's called Dumb Smart this is the first version I made ooh dairy

32:00Crane to the sky The riff's good I found the bay May

32:25But I just knew I had these bars to get off about hating I had things to say About hating myself and other East London yuppies Other East London gal But now I'm in a situation, you know, Sue, where I'm like is it all in the same world you know so i don't believe in that let's talk about it if it's your voice is the same world if you made it well but you care about conceptual same yeah i like the idea i like the storytelling to be all in the same world but like i think production doesn't have to be yeah i can't be too far but like yeah i think it'd be just put like a really guitar-y thing in and then into something that's quite electronic i mean it's like some of my favorite albums do that yeah i was just trying to think of examples emily sunday our version of events comes in with heaven very like um it's like jordan basie and then it then turns into like things where she's singing like next to me it's like very piano and gossipy i think like honestly i think people think too much like i love a cohesive album but i think sometimes it just hit a point where it's just kind of like does it sound the same and i'm gonna gaggle right now and i'm really sorry and i know everyone loves her and i really like her too lord uh livia dean have you listened to that new album i loved the singles and i didn't same and then i listened to the album and it was like this like the singles the album was just given the singles just like turned down a bit i honestly you blink the album's done it all sounds the same i'm so sorry i love her i think she's great it's number one fuck thanks for number one for weeks like she's fine but like the album does sound the same i feel like it's a very cohesive project but to its detriment in a way yeah and it's a very fine line but i feel like lord is an example of an album that yeah what's the album called the new one yeah virgin um that's an example of an album that you liked that is cohesive for sure yeah but even then like by the seventh rate of track i'm like oh really yeah they're like grown woman and like uh if she could see me now i'm just kind of like okay it's something that i've kind of well firstly i do enjoy it in albums i think it's like it's impressive when you can do it and not make it boring yes that's really cool but then it's something that i've basically learned from like the needle drop or something that it's like oh no this is like what good a good album is um but like in my personal artistic endeavor i get too bored of making music of one style yeah and it's like it's just it becomes less interesting and it starts to look but i guess that's our role as creatives and it's the producers roles to make it all make sense you know what i mean yeah for sure So that was creative practice with Sue and Lou I need my inhaler Get your inhaler darling Okay So when you fuckers are saying Can you, oh love you Can you tag me in your story please Fuck off, yeah Tag me in your story Oh can you tag me in your story, can you mention me in your story So I can repost it, get a life What about?

35:40Just you know when you post a picture of your friends And they're like can you tag me please No, firstly Instagram doesn't let me Alright, secondly it's my IP, bitch Thirdly, get a life, okay, is it really that deep Do you really need the picture of you looking hot On your own Instagram story that much No Anyway that's what I just needed to do while you were gone That's okay Other people were asking why the Dublin accent was So specific Yeah Have I shown you? Yeah Yeah, D4. Have I shown you the video? No. I don't know if I should play it on the podcast or just tell people to listen to it. No, it's basically these guys.

Read the full transcript

36:24So my only knowledge of this accent is from a two-minute-long voice note that went viral on YouTube, which is basically some lads from D4 going to Koh Samui in Thailand. And they've basically sent a voice note home to their mate, to their pal and saying like mate you gotta come to Koh Samui we're staying in this hostel this competition where you're doing a lap of the pool and then down a point of Chang and it's just these fucking rugby lads from Dublin on tour in Koh Samui mate and that's where the accent is from and I thoroughly recommend that anyone listen to that it's called it's called the greatest horseplay of all time fuck's sake I like it when people praise me for doing accents I wish people would praise me for my music sometimes I wish people would make me happy what you want for Christmas what you want for Christmas what you want from your ma from my ma I'm hoping for a an X-Men game And Gilbert's rugby ball, size five, because I've got massive fucking conkers for hands.

37:45Massive fucking wah-mah. What do you want for Christmas, darling? I want for nothing, Louis. Louis and the esteemed panel of judges, I want for nothing. I want for nothing but to win this competition. I want for nothing. I need money, girl. I need money, girl. I bet you still make a list for your parents, you freak. I don't. They said, what do you want? I said nothing. I'd get sent everything. I have pairs of shoes Under the stairs That I don't wear That I'm gonna wait Until I walk through Those shoes And I'm gonna wear those You know what you need For Christmas Some fucking dignity girl I've got dignity I work hard She works hard For the money Hard for the money What do you want For Christmas girl Come on Some clothes That aren't from Bershka We want that They want that For Christmas They need that For Christmas The reason I wear Bershka is obviously because She gets a gift card every time I get a gift card every time I do And no shade on Bershka We love Bershka You're fulfilling a kind of a market gap That is similar to Zara No it's lovely, you look less Actually I said to my friend the other day That Bershka's basically just Zara But no But my friend got very offended Don't you dare Well she's hard Well she's hard But I said Bershka's the same as Zara And they were like Don't talk about Zara like that It is but they didn't want to work that up Also What would I like?

39:18Music I'd like a new cat A kitten coming to my life But we're not going to buy a cat We're just going to see when one appears If someone is giving away a kitten Sophie not enough for you No we want Sophie to have a friend We want Sophie to have a friend We want Sophie Grow up No but when I've got a cat there And you've got a cat there How fierce drag jewels would that be For everybody Everyone would enjoy it And we already know what we're going to call it Yeah Diana Oh what Because Princess Diana No because Dee Dee Why is everyone fucking obsessed with Princess Diana Because you're a royalist Oh my god I had I just remembered I had a dream that I met That was on FIFA What's the Prince What's the king's son called Who isn't with Meghan Harry Harry I met Prince Harry on a plane In a dream We met Prince Andrew in real life Just at the island, right?

40:13You were at the island? Yeah No, it is true that anyone Who is posh has been to this Island I love those If your favourite septie's been on the Epstein Island And it's like, why would Kate King be on the Epstein Island? Why would Kate Garroway be on the Epstein Island? I think she would be. You reckon? I reckon Stephen Fry's been there, but like not condominance, but just like, you've got to think about really just like people that they would have invited that are just interesting. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, they wanted to make it a vibe. Nigel Farge was there loads of times probably. Shit, I haven't watched the Diddy doc.

40:51I haven't either, no. Everybody be watching it. We should have watched it. Yeah, we should. But no. So for Christmas, I want for nothing. I want a good time. I'm going to wake up with my baby and we're going to have some... You'd take some money though, wouldn't you? I'd really like some money. So this week, we're working. I worked last week, this week. I just like one job next week, maybe, to just like really just ensure that I can get through to February. Who wants to book Sue to come and do stand-up at that office Christmas party? Hey, I'm so I think. Hey, I wear a wig. I do drag. Hey, I'm so I think.

41:30Why don't we do a bingo night? Bingo.

41:36Or improv Or me and you could do Wicked live And you're Alphaba and I'm Glinda Or the opposite way around I thought we both didn't like Wicked Oh no, you like Wicked I haven't seen the new one though Okay But I've seen the stage play three times I just want a recording studio And a house for Christmas Yeah, I'd like a song to go viral And ultimately make my career And then I can have a song with Ice Spice and Jetty Justin Timberlake No, JT from the City Girls I don't know Girl, we've lost a real one

42:14And so I think What are you doing for New Year's? For New Year's I'm going to my friend's house with Bill Are you excited? I am Are you a New Year's person? I am not But like We've got some plans in New Year's You're going to come up to where we are Oh Oh You're gonna come up to my level Sweetie Yeah you're gonna hit my level We're gonna be doing a podcast From a nice new location I think Yeah And yeah for New Year's We're going to A friend's house

42:49I kind of imagine that you're What are you doing for New Year's? I don't know I'm not really a New Year's person But I'll have a good time But I'll be late I will be late And I probably will be getting home At the wee hours Yeah, a wee hours farting in New Year's. A wee hours. Um, but, um, I don't give a fuck. I started New Year's in Walthamstow, entered it in Dublin. I don't, I don't get the hype. I don't get the planning. I think it's better when you do it low key. I go to Vietnam. And smaller. Matt, I go to Vietnam. Going to Kousamui, Thailand with the boys. And we're going to down some chanks in the pool.

43:29Oh, some Asahi. Yeah there you go Thanks You're only Asian Do we We started so strong So what guys The thing is What happens is Louis comes around And then immediately We stim Very quite quickly Bill was making us Some breakfast I was being Disgustingly loud Yeah Louis is always Quite disgustingly loud I'm kidding But I was I think I was The stim queen today I was the stim queen I will shut you up with one punch. But I was stimming out and then when we start recording the pod I'm all stimmed out. Maybe next time we need to just jump straight upon the mic. I do think that is a really important thing that we don't do.

44:16But it's a shame because it's nice. It feels a bit horrible to go like straight in but yeah it feels kind of soulless to go like yeah let's go straight in but it would benefit the podcast greatly. and also like we've been doing the podcast for a year it makes it feel more had to throw a party for our day was obviously the stuff we talk about off the podcast that we wouldn't talk about on the podcast but like part of this is that like we're kind of having a casual conversation so if we if we chat before it feels more contrived yeah just like go like hi sue hi lou yeah whereas we've just been here so bacon butty whereas imagine if we just started rolling like as soon as I walked in the door.

44:59Yeah, tea. That's something to try. Anyway, what was the question you just asked me? I had a door party for my D-Wade. We'll nearly be doing this for a year. How are we going to celebrate? Who wants Straight Diva Live? When was the first episode? I feel like December 27th or 8th? 28th, I think. Shout out if you've been there from the fucking start. Nicki Minaj, shout out. Cardi B, last out. Big boobs. Yeah. Do you want to tag any hard? Wait, no, I feel like we didn't tackle just how we feel about having done the podcast for one year. Also, we actually kind of glossed over that when we were talking about...

45:39Gloss? What do you want... How would you like us to celebrate? Well, I just want to say that I know that me and Sue complain a lot about... And we really want our music to do well, but best believe that we are so fucking grateful for the fact that this makes us money and like more than that there's like 10 000 people here yeah on each what 20 000 what and the messages we get about people and people writing into agony people people often getting obsessed with this podcast when they're in the lowest points of their life i.e after like a massive breakup um and i don't know it's just uh really cool and mad that um people care enough to listen to us and we have some sort of meaningful impact on people's lives.

46:32So, thank you to all the people that have been there from the start. Thank you to the people that joined a week ago. About a week ago, a week ago. And I'm going to be tweaking a ho. Tweaking a ho. Did you know? Did you know? Did you know? Did you know?

46:53Molly on the beat. Oh, it's about to get pissy on the beat. Susie on the beat. Stinky Smeg on the beat. I just pulled back the foreskin. Foreskin on the beat.

49:28okay you need to find things that are fun for free yeah the tape modern no um i think you have it's really it's just really tough like there's no other way around it i think ultimately it's just ensuring that when you have downtime you either rest or like really do things that like make living here worthwhile. That's essentially it. Like for all the years that I was like working full time, well literally every year of my life up towards this year, how I got by was it was like in every waking moment that I had that I wasn't working, I was doing everything that I could do. God, it sounds like those like straight boys.

50:06It's like, I'm going to Dubai to meet millionaires. I was waking up at 4am. No, no, no, that's what I'm saying. But everything I could do, I was waking up at like 5am, going to work in a cafe. Doing 100 pushups. Going to see, yeah, yeah. Then I flew to Dubai. no but like i'd go see a friend i'd like and sure and then i'd go home i'd get early night etc like just anything you can do to like get those little bits of pleasure when you can whilst you're like working your way through something living in london is hard like you've not come here for a slow life like you're here for a reason yeah like you might be here for your community you might be here to be around more people like you and that's great but go see those people when you have the time and it's hard because it's annoying because it could be working 40 50 more plus hours a week but it's just like you just have to take those moments and honestly before the age 25 i think i was like four to five hours sleep was just like the average for me like you just really go oh my god yeah i remember fk two weeks tweeted once she was like five hours is just my regular thing and i was like i get that damn like it was just like five hours every night like max like you just go coffee and just have a you just have to just enjoy the moments that you have.

51:13Hopefully you're working towards something. You might not be. You might be figuring out. If you work in a cafe and you like to party, it's... It's serious. I mean, it's unfortunate but you just go and be sick. Would you nap later? No, no, no. I'd go, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm quite a big napper, actually, but not at work. But I do the morning shift at work which was like six till one or two. And I used to just go and still drunk and I'd just be being sick on shift. There was one shift I was sick ten times. It was so bad. But I was, I did my job. Yeah. I still turn up, made real nice coffee but like I was I'd actually just like oh it's a problem to me and I'd just be sick I'd let everyone know I'd be like look I'm hanging I can still do the job I don't need to go home early but I'm just not and like so I feel like you're touching on something important which is that you you need to make the most of it and like um work and make time for your side hustle or something but absolutely also I feel like it should be said that that is a dangerous road to go down and also you do need to just do stuff which you kind of touched on as well it's just like completely relaxing yeah whether that's socializing with people who are in the same situation which is another thing to mention that is going to help you massively is that you're sharing this experience with someone else um is that you need to do just kind of completely mindless uh things that are selfish and and and maybe just sleep sometimes there will just be times where like you'll sit at the cinema or you'll sit down and do something or sit with friends and it's like i have I used to with my ex-boyfriend he used to come around and my best friend at the time Laura and they would like we're all quite funny people and they I used to be so exhausted from work that I used to feel jealous not jealous of them having a relationship but jealous of the fact that like they were still able to like have a giggle at the end of the day because I would just be like just get yourself around your loved ones and just sit there and just be because sometimes you don't feel guilty about it don't feel guilty sometimes you're just like babe this whole week i've been sleeping five hours a night like i will get a lie in when i get to like tuesday or whatever but until that day like i'm just like rotted and you just have to take the nice moments like coffee was the savior is the savior also another thing is well loads of things popping into my head um uh you could try not drinking yeah a bit um you could try excessive well and that that is true like sometimes to get through those sorts of difficult periods where you're working really hard actually a drink does help but it also probably helps more to completely take alcohol out of your life at certain points there's that there's also like if you've moved away from london maybe going i don't know to me going home even though i i grew up in london going home in general like isn't necessarily a relaxing thing and i think for a lot of people it isn't relaxing thing but you need to whatever that is whether it's going home or like surrounding yourself with people or going to like on a day trip somewhere you you really need to get yourself out of the big smoke every now and then that is hugely important um and then the only other thing i would finally add is that you need i don't know what industry this person is in but you need a mentor of some kind who's like a few years it's so important to have a mentor who's like a couple of years older than you or a few years older than you that's done what you've done it's me it's me it's me my there joking it's not that i can't be anyone's mentor i don't want to be like this you should be someone's you'd be a great mentor i would be good i was thinking i should mentor because i think like the important thing is is that like it's better to have a mentor who's like not that.

55:05I am waiting for my old uni to ask me to go back. You might ask your old uni. What? Do you know when they get people in to do talks at uni? Yeah. Mine haven't asked me to come back. But the girlies that they're asking back have more followers then. I'll go. I probably want to go as well because my ex-wife goes to that uni now. You do bad mouth at uni quite openly. Yeah. They still follow me. They follow you? Yeah. Fun. Get me in for industry week. I think we should talk about Mentors another time Because I would love to know who your mentors are I don't really have one Bitterness is my mentor Oh Brian was probably a mentor before he died Yes that was it Yeah he was my mentor But anyway I think we'll do mentors another time Bless Brian I feel like I hope that answered your question I need your opinions on avoidant men Why do they all say the shit to you If they don't mean it because they basically just want somebody to float their ego yeah and also they're incapable of doing it they might mean it at the time and i think in fact most of the time they do mean it however like they're incapable of they haven't worked out their love style and love attachment style and they are scared i speak i have spoken to my partner about this multiple times where it's like I'm quite anxiously attached I'm not saying he's Avoidant But he's more He's less anxiously attached Than I But we were talking about Previous relationships And how like Actually like You find the right relationship You choose to do it You kind of do Get over it Or you were aware of it But you communicate it When you know it's time And you find the right person That you want to do that with Do you know what I mean Yeah yeah So if a boy's been avoidant With you He just like Let's wake it up He doesn't want to be with you Sorry Yeah exactly And also you shouldn't want to be with him is the main point about it.

57:01But if a boy's being avoidant, they just don't want to be with you. Even if they're avoidant, then communicate. Most likely. I'd say there's some avoidant people that, well, they say like attachments. She just broke the lights. Sophie just broke the Christmas lights. She's just funnying about. So, they turned off, haven't they? Why did they just turn off and on? No, they're back on. Sophie has just broken the Christmas lights. There you go. For the people who want to explain it. They say that the attachment styles shouldn't match or something. Anyway, who knows? No, but like, they can't, like, you can be with a avoidant person as an anxious cat person.

57:39I was going to say, if you're communicating it. I am so anxiously attached. Right. Like, I need somebody to tell me that they love me. Right. Possibly every hour. Yeah. Possibly even more than that. But I was going to say that some people are avoidant and that will be fine for the person who's attracted to them. Yeah. it might not be fine for you the other thing i'd say is that i don't know what stage this person's thing is at but i feel like avoidant thing or whatever is encouraged completely by the the dating situation right now which is that more than ever before people are talking to Multiple people at once And that is like Very normal And casual So like But then you have 15 options But yeah Which is just mental And then like But then also At the same time That's fine As long as you're not Choosing or making out To people that you're Going to like Settle down with them But I don't know Did this person Provide any more context Of what stage is that No no no They're saying that They keep going For avoidant people Right You don't know That they're avoidant You learn they're avoidant You leave Yeah exactly If a man ain't trying to teach that, if a man don't want you, sorry, wake that up.

58:53Like, we actually need to start teaching that. I think we need to teach that specifically to women, specifically to young girls, because I wish I was taught that. If he doesn't want to, he's not going to do it ever. Like, stop doing it. Like, they can make the mistake once. If they're never going to do it, they're not going to. No, I agree. That's it. Like, quite simple. Yeah. Like, there's, like, no more to it, like. But also, as you kind of briefly touched there, it's like, it's not. People often, like, say, like, help. What is wrong with me? Yeah, nothing's wrong with you. Like why do I keep going for this person?

59:22You're going for people And they just unfortunately happen to be avoidant Yeah and to be fair Sometimes there is a pattern in like when I'm going For someone who's like But this thing Avoidant attachment so it's like how are you going to know I kept going for drug addicts And then one day you have to be like When you find out that they love Even with like when I was dating after my ex I mean I wasn't dating for a long time But like you have to identify like when you're like matching with people I went with people that said like no drugs on like dating apps because I was like I can't keep doing this they're all losers, the ones that actually list, trying to like date someone and figure out whether they actually do use recreational drugs in a good way versus every weekend sending it, and given what you'd been through I think that's completely fair but that's the thing, it's like okay the issue is fair, there's a lot of avoidant men, there is, of course there is however once you learn they're avoidant once you leave eventually you'll find somebody who isn't avoidant but like it sounds like as though you keep going it's not you don't know that someone's avoidant until you're involved with them keep that 10 for yourself or that 20 for yourself that you know that you can like but all right well then you're not the one for me why would you want to be with an avoidant person babe genuinely ask yourself that take yourself out of the situation just like what was that there was like something that always mean Laura always just say it and i why i say it and i just say it loads to laura but i think it was like when you were younger did you dream of this for real though like when you thought oh i'm gonna live and grow up and like live with my partner did you think that my partner is gonna be up all night doing ketamine and not speaking to me in the day did you think that because like what the fuck are you doing no like that's and that's but that's what you gotta ask yourself you find yourself in these situations like did i dream of this no then why the fuck am i doing it okay but i'm gonna it's Quite simple.

1:01:11I'm going to zag here and say that at least early stages, I quite like someone... Avoidant, not in the sense that you're talking about where they have a drug problem. Definitely not that. But I guess, like, I don't know if this would be counted as avoidant, but I am attracted to people who are... About the business. Independent and, like, really... But independent isn't avoidant. Well, but it could mean that they're not going to be as... they're not going to give me as much attention, basically, or they're not going to be as good at replying to texts. But you might not need someone who's anxiously attached.

1:01:46You might just not be anxiously attached. Right. Also, when you're fine in yourself, this is also another thing that therapy taught me, when you're fine in yourself, attachment styles don't exist. Because if you know you're going to be fine, you won't get anxiously attached nor avoidant. Right. They're both styles in which they're like, don't matter if you are secure in yourself. Because whether or not you're with someone, it doesn't matter if you're anxiously attached to them or avoidantly attached to them you're not you're just like i'm attached to you we'll figure it out yeah you just might be secure on yourself and just know that actually if someone's like busy it doesn't affect you or that your relationship that's how it should be i think but i think maybe that for some type of people that like if it's a situation where you are both kind of not not giving that much to each other that could work but as soon as there's a feeling of imbalance where it's like i feel like i'm i'm overextending myself yeah yeah then you have a conversation about it and if they don't like if they don't back it up or like communicate it then that's it right for sure i think it's interesting um but i do agree that if we're being brutally honest just from the the tone of this message that's just like you just need to move on from this person you're talking about yeah yeah you just don't beat yourself up for it it's nothing yeah yeah there's nothing bigger going on yeah it's nothing to do with you guy it's just you're just gonna meet someone else it's gonna be fine exactly but i have to go now because i've got a meeting oh shit bye i love you the right window treatments change everything your sleep your privacy the way every room looks and feels at blinds.com we've spent 30 years making it surprisingly simple to get exactly what your home needs.
