In short

The hosts chat about a recent muay thai class, addiction/“staying stopping” (especially alcohol), and a heated debate about Berlin as a city break. They also discuss celebrity music and performances: Lily Allen’s “Lily’s album” tour concept, and reviews of Harry Styles’ new album and other artists (LCD Soundsystem, Yebba, etc.). They finish with thoughts on fame, PR expectations, and why some artists “fake cry” versus letting emotion happen naturally.

Guests

No named guests appear. The episode is a conversation between the hosts (referred to as Lou and Sophie) plus recurring mentions of Bill (one host’s partner) and “Todd” (from a Brazil engagement story), but they are not guests.

Guest backgrounds

Not applicable (no guests).

Key claims

  • Berlin is overrated unless you’re partying/drugging; it can feel mid, corporate, and even “spooky,” and the progressive image doesn’t match some experiences (e.g., being shouted at for using the “girls” toilets).
  • London is portrayed as more multicultural and safer-feeling in day-to-day respect.
  • Alcohol is framed as cyclical for one host (worse in summer, stops for stretches), with “staying stopping” described as the hard part.
  • Lily Allen’s album tour concept is praised as tasteful; Harry Styles is “fine” but PR expectations can inflate disappointment.

Notable examples

  • “Moita Kick to the Face” muay thai class; clinch laughter like being back at school.
  • Getz (drunk driving/hit-and-run) discussion.
  • Berlin toilet incident; “Berlin Wall kissing photo” joke; Hoxton Hotel shoutout.
  • Lily Allen: string quartet prelude, album performed start-to-finish, spotlight moments.
  • Harry Styles: “Disco” naming controversy; comparisons to LCD Soundsystem and indie-dance positioning.

0:28This episode is brought to you by Google Chrome. Storm has zero sugar and 200 milligrams of caffeine, so you can turn that workout up a notch. Good energy in, good energy out. Energy for life. We have reports live from Brazil. Brazil. Where Eating With Todd has proposed to his now-fiancée, Megan Heathcliff. The pair took to social media to post pictures of the engagement from a boat, which is in between Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf. Eating with Todd also mentioned that he was disappointed to find out that Sugarloaf was a mountain and not a cake. It could be, sir. Welcome to the Straight Diva podcast.

1:09Welcome. How are you doing, sir? I'm good, yeah. How are you, Lou? Good. Sweating out the toxins. Yeah. Are you not well? You said you didn't sleep last night. Just... drank for too long in Mexico. Yeah, yeah. What's water? and um like you know when you have like demonic sleep and you like wake up it's part jet lag and it's part alcohol definitely yeah wake up and you're just sweating yeah and you can just smell oh yeah booze on you is that when you suck someone's dick and they're doing like ketamine you can taste it on it's exactly like that actually it's exactly like that um but yeah i did uh also speaking of sweating i did a muay thai class last night Moita Kick to the Face.

1:56That's straight culture, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah. Moita Kick to the Face is Skepta or Big Nasty? I think it's Big Nasty. Okay. Did you see Thingy died? Dot Rotten. Yes. Awful. I don't, to be honest, didn't really know Dot Rotten. I know Dot Rotten because he was on a Cher Lloyd song. Really? Yeah. Dub on the track. And Getz was on it as well? Getz was on it. And did you see what happened to Getz? 12 years Fucking hell I mean I'm so sorry But like He's had multiple charges For drunk driving Has he? Beyond this People are saying He's had like I don't know whether it was for drunk driving I think it was But like drinking under influence He's had like 12 He was drunk driving He was doing 60 Have you seen the video?

2:39I didn't want to watch it Don't watch it But it was He's like I don't know how to say it It just absolutely floors him Like it's insane Really? Yeah it's crazy And especially London like you know in London I kind of see people driving like they like there's a 20 and they're driving down the street so they'll speed up and slow down it's so much quicker than that it's absolutely insane like it is fucking insane and he did a hit and run as well oh yeah I know he just carried on driving and the boy was like fresh to London like was an international student international student apparently like only there a few days got enough fucking shit to deal with I know it's so big your criticisms first and foremost what for international students see what I think No.

3:20I think it's international students. I don't hate international students. Brexit means Brexit. Fuck off. That is not true. But I think that, yeah, low-key, you took a kid's life. You deserve more than 12 years. I'm sorry. Because also 12 years in the UK means six years. Ooh. Ooh. Well, it's some bad behavior, but you won't because he's got a family. Obviously, I know that he has a family and stuff, but then you've also just ruined someone else's family. So it's like, well, I mean, it literally doesn't matter what I think. but like he clearly got good lawyers to get 12 years because he fucking killed a child he murdered someone and ran away and it was filmed like there was no yeah and it's driving and he also had so many offenses before this apparently really and everyone's like saying that that matters apparently and if it was somebody else that wasn't gets like they probably got much longer yeah um anyway uh at risk of becoming uh the straight diva grime report yeah um yeah i did a muay thai class last night and it was um the first time i've done such a thing uh since uni yeah i went for a bit at uni that's why you can kick good in it oh yeah yeah because i've got good hips yeah i've always said that uh um and it was really funny it was like it kind of felt like um did you have any sports teachers at school who would like okay like did you ever get leathered by a sports teacher at school what you'd fight a sports teacher no no no no no god no just like shouted at berating Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

4:46They all shouted. Nick Lomas, who was the head of year as well. And he was the one that I walked, do you know that Debbie Ryan thing where it's like, I walked straight into the head of Disney Channel and I said, I want to make history. That was me, but saying, I'm not going in the boys' group. I remember going in and being like, there's no way I'm going in the boys' group. And he was like, but I feel like you shouldn't. And I was like, I feel like I really shouldn't. And he let me in the girls' group. So we actually ate with that one thing. Yeah. But I think I got supposed to treat because of my dad.

5:08Because I used to get my dad in to do like, do you know when you used to get like sports personality to go to like hand over yeah yeah do a talk all and like yeah and hand over like the medals to like the sporty kids and the best thing was all the people that used to call me fag would then go into the sports thing getting called footballer of the year and shaking hands with my dad i was like fag meet my fag dad like how were you feeling when he was um doing like present at the school like i think we were very really good especially everything that like my dad did at the time just bawling out yeah but like he was on tv a lot my dad's not that famous but like on tv flat as much as a cricketer could be on like local tv like derbyshire tv he basically got them up the league and they haven't been up what was the derbyshire paper called oh what brilliant question i did the chad was the local so he was like on that yeah yeah but he but yeah he so he was in that so i'd get people always saying to me like Did you see your dad was on TV?

6:04And he's like, no No No But we did a really good thing of being kids And like pretending we didn't give a fuck And we still don't I think my brother tries to give a shit these days But we really don't It's like when my mum came into school With Anton Dubak to do a dance And you're just like this Me and my classmates No, I was one of the judges Oh yeah, you did Four tens Yeah, period You should have given a nine just to Just to fuck it up Just to humble her Yeah um but no that i did like being back in this there's something sort of um is it masochistic yeah about enjoying being berated by someone i think like why people like personal trainers yeah like come on fucking give me 10 more so what you're saying is you're submissive yeah exactly um he came over to me at one point i went with my friend henry um and we were doing the clinch and I was gripping Henry's head and we were trying to work out this move and the clinch yeah I know I heard it I'm just saying it again well no but it's not clenching your ass no I know it's clenching somebody else anyway I'm clinching Henry and when you clinch I'm gripping the back of his head submissive ones and then he's like you hold his head like that Might as well bring him a bunch of fucking flowers, mate.

7:29I'm like, I just burst out laughing. He's looking at me like, why the fuck are you laughing? I was like, this is like being back at school. This is a joke, yeah. You just turn around to him, you are a joke. You are a joke. And it made me think that like those lashings, verbal lashings from teachers when you're young prepare you for like shouting matches. I could not disagree more. Really? When teachers shout at me, honestly, I was so... You're just laughing. No, I'd just take it. I'd be like, okay, because I'd just rather you not fucking shout at me. Yeah. I can shout all we want, all day. No, no, no.

8:03Completely agree. But when teachers would think, I wouldn't even fight back. I was like, you are actually so boring. This is so like... I'm a Miss Drake, my maths teacher. She just wanted to start shouting. It's like, chill, Miss Drake. Yeah, yeah. Just chill. But don't you think... You don't think it prepared you for shout matches later down the line? No, because I was already shouting with my parents every day. My mom's a shouter. My mum is a shouter girl Well okay I got it from You just like sit there And then she just starts screaming You just like Oh you just like Look at Millie Like oh girl She's doing it again Oh Millie Bless you darling But yeah he's also This new Muay Thai coach of mine He's also a podcaster Okay Which is obviously the reason I know he's kind of She's just five Oh Sophie's guffed But I also do have like The smell of like I'm such a talented smeller Really?

8:54I can smell things Like a dog. Yeah, like a real... I've been saying that. Yeah. He has this podcast, and I followed him on Instagram, and he has this one clip where he delivered one of my all-time favourite bars that I've ever heard. Yeah. They're talking about addiction and how they got into fighting, classic, like... Classic. Classic male, tortured male path from drugs to fighting. Yeah. And then he asks his guest, was it like, was it harder to stop or to stay stopping when he's talking about kicking the shit. Yeah. And I'm like, fuck, I can't, I can stop. It's to stay stopping, babe. Stay stopping.

9:33Yeah. That's my problem. Moona, stay away. Sue, can you stay stopping, Sue? Yeah, I'm really good at staying stopping. Really? I really get frustrated with people when they can't stay stopping. I stay stopping so hard that like when I do it again, it's actually disgusting. Cigarettes is a good case study. Did I try to smoke a few cigarettes in Berlin? Vile. Really? I can't smoke cigs anymore. I've really done it for myself. Menthols? No. I go to hell. I got some I don't even want that like genuinely it was that bad like I couldn't finish my cig I never really want to smoke I just can't just before we move to Berlin I want to ask you oh dreadful place but did get recognised yay yay so shout out to you he was like I love your show I was like period do you think you just went to Berlin to see if you get recognised my favourite thing though is it always I always get recognised in front of our nephews and it makes me feel fierce So Joe, because I know Joe will be listening Bill's sister Every time we're out We get recognised And I think that's fun Ultimately also, I'm running to your friends Sorry, you said one more thing before Berlin Sorry I interrupted you Well, I'm intrigued By how you said I'm good at staying stopping Because you are good in one sense But also, you have said to me before Yeah that you're like I'm an alcoholic yeah which I think is I think is not true I don't think that's true actually but you've also said that like in a long term do me way yeah that you are you think you'll have a problem with booze like the thing is I do but it happens every summer and then it gets like September but I'm so sick of being drunk I just stop for ages yeah true and I just get so sick of being sober so I just drink yeah yeah I think booze is something that will just always be there I'm not trying to There's so much in my life and so much like mentally and like therapist wise, I've tried to like stop and I really look at and I just think alcohol is not one.

11:30I know that I don't get pissed out drunk that I'm like fainting, being sick. Right, blackout. Being sick, probably. You have a sensitive stomach. Yeah, yeah. It's fine. But like pissing myself, I don't get blackout. I don't get embarrassing. Like even when we did like the other day at Cafe Kicking got absolutely wasted. It was like, that was like the first time, last time for a long time. Do you know what I mean? So you'll go to rehab, but for sugar? Yeah, probably. I probably won't go to rehab because they're all losers. Because you're all weaklings. And I'm only saying that because I've been with two drug addicts in my life.

12:03And I'm honestly so checked out of it. I really hope you find it. But I can't give you the support that you need. Because I had to go to Al-Anon and figure out for myself that I can't save anyone. Sophie, stop trying to... I'm only saying weaklings because it was a really bad joke. No one's weakling. No one's a weakling I hope you find peace in that but away from me Yeah I've already done it Okay well on that note Of being a weakling Weakling drug addict, how was Berlin? Kidding I went to Berlin For four days to see the fam See The in-laws Me and Bill aren't married But Bill's family was there?

12:47Yeah, Bill's sister and brother-in-law are they're working out there for four months wow yeah i thought it was just you two no no no no so we met them out there who's bill who's bill so bill is this guy who i'm loving sucking his cocky um check in bill is my wife and we went there it is so boring in balloon guys i can't believe it and the thing is i was like this can't be the balloon that everyone's going on about right so after we saw the family had like a few days to ourselves i couldn't believe this is a berlin that you lot are all going to i genuinely genuinely i love it i think if i went back to berlin to play a show some people mentioned me like well you should just come back and play a show i was like ain't me up there i will come and do that and if i went if i was going with friends and there was a point like you know like we were going to go to berlin for a few days there was a show on or like you know or there's a bunch of people that they know they were going to take us out to their favorite spots 100 % get as a city there is nothing to see and don't start because your louis was like have you not gone to la maison it was just a cafe it was like girl you you were like have you not been to this cafe i'm like babe i could broadway market is full of just that if not and also there was so much worse than anything on broadway market i was like girl and at least like you know balona like paris like even bulgaria like there's architecture that like is wild and like you know or you walk down it's so different from berlin was like london if it was just like shit it honestly so bad and i'm so sorry because i guarantee there's loads of berlin livers here and like literally someone was like i love the people that they're like oh my god this is amazing you're brilliant i just can't imagine and i didn't go out so that's also a thing i'm not a clubber so like this this could be a part of berlin yeah but i don't think you need to go out i think i I think drinking there definitely improves it.

14:39I don't think you need to go out to a club. Holy fucking hell. Exactly, Sean and Dickhead ones. You want heat or something? No, Sean and Dickhead ones. Sorry, I love women. But I don't think you need to go... Sophie, get off, man. Sorry, the cat's pissed me off today. Sophie's clawing me. For audio listeners out there, Sophie's been a cunt. I don't think you need to go out to a club and take a load of drugs in Berlin to have a good time I do think going to the bars definitely or like at night it is we did do that it just wasn't too we were going out to clubs and bars and also it was this bit where we said we were playing in Charlottenburg and everyone was like see that's where you went people are trying to prove me wrong chill out we went everywhere we really went everywhere I walked the whole of Berlin it never got good no shade and like it never got fucking good and then everyone was like oh yeah you're in the posh bit yeah where yeah yeah I can't wait to see the posh bit girls like girl it is not my tease like genuinely okay I love a city break as well there was nothing to see even went to that big stick thing and I went to like the radio tower thing and you just kind of like stand there and like are they not the same thing no there's two there's one like monument that has like gold on it and that and then they're like the big archers yeah it was just you didn't get a picture of the two world leaders kissing at the Berlin Wall no everyone does that I'm trying to think of something astounding so I want to defend myself first of all because anyone who knows La Maison this cafe that I suggested to Sue will go like ha you suggested the most London place Sue was texting me at this point like I can't stand it I'm having a terrible time So I was like, what would give you comfort right now?

16:34Yeah. A nice cafe and a canal. Yeah. I was like, just let's go back to basics right now. Yeah, no, you're right, you're right. And that usually does it for me, girls. But you are right in that it is probably just what you can get on your doorstep. Yeah. But not as good. But worse. The reason I like Berlin is, but I would disagree with you. I do like the architecture. I do like walking. I do like just walking down the streets. Okay. of Neukölln and Friedrichschein. But I also know that like when you walk down some of these roads, it is so, if you're walking down like main roads, especially in Berlin, and it's like super developed, super corporate, super, yeah.

17:17I felt like there was no like, and it was dreadful, but like, you know, in London you have like town, you have like central, and then you have like South Kensington, which is like pot, and then you have like Notting Hill, which is posh but kind of like shopping and you have like you know obviously you have like hackney which is like cafe and then you have like shoreditch which is like market kind of thing like i feel like there's such like differentiation it's the same with like paris and stuff i just think like in berlin like they're like do you wanna you can kind of kind of go here and there's like a good thing here like maybe like a good vintage shop but it's not like there's 14 different vintage shops in that area it's like one vintage shop and then you go to the other side of berlin to another one like it made no sense and i actually do think and i am just gonna gag people out now but i actually do think it's for people who actually just think they're fucking different and they actually find they actually find themselves being like yeah i'm fucking lobelin i'm like why yeah why you just because you don't live in the uk and you just think you're different i'm so sorry like i think it's so boring well so boring i can't i genuinely that's the thing that is like gagged me out is i genuinely cannot believe that that is a place that people are like talking about i can't believe it I think.

I hear you, Sue. Ow, Sophie, man.

19:03You're really hurting me today. Sue's on smoke. Yeah, she's really hurting. Maybe she needs an ounce of clue. I'm still recording. Fab. Sue, I see you. I hear you. Yeah. holding space for you um my only retort i i get you that there isn't that much to do unless you are partying yeah or if you like going to art galleries which you or if you love like the history of like lib like germany or like that shit the war and that um so also this is like I also went and there's a tranny like don't get me wrong I'm I can sometimes give brick I was wearing like men's clothes like don't do not get me wrong but like I was having my tits I was wearing like my Caperni shirt so you could see my boobs like whatever I go into a toilet on my first night I go to the toilet and some man shouts at me when I come out of the toilet yeah because it's like why are you in the girls but in German and I was like girl this is not my place this is not the liberal place you say it is sorry people are getting I heard people getting pissed on and shit people are sending me like sex clubs I was like, well, girl, you're hitting that so well.

20:13I feel like it was like, do you know with like Amsterdam or like other like liberal countries or like liberal places, like LA's like and like New York, people are kind of like none of my issue kind of thing. I felt with Berlin, like I've never been. Bear in mind, I look really boring this weekend. Like I really did. I felt like everyone was just kind of like looking. Like, and I was like, I thought this was the place where people are like in latex and like fierce. I don't know. It just, it really, honestly, I think there is a part of me where I felt like, not sad but i was like this is not the place that people are saying it was and i was going to the places where people like you should go here yeah and occasionally to see a gay in a bomber and be like work for sure no i could definitely agree with that i think outside of like in general berlin and germany more widely as if i've been to germany but i have one of my best friend lives there germany outside of berlin and even within berlin is like very not just um not as progressive as like the the image that we get of berlin but like as you point out like even in somewhere like america or the uk yeah maybe where it's like people don't agree like people might like go like oh my god why is um why is a woman in the man's toilets yeah yeah like they would unless they're fucked they would keep it to themselves yeah in germany sometimes there is like this um sort of uh need for like order that they like they will if someone has a problem with something they will tell like yeah and it's it's a very weird i think it almost is the opposite of what I feel I felt not safe I felt less safe no sorry not safe I don't want to say it's safe because I didn't feel like unsafe in Berlin at all but I feel like Berlin is like the typical thing of like it's like it's not giving like middle class maybe but it gave like it gave everything just like really mid and like I felt safe not safe the words not safe but like in Bulgaria I feel more like yeah I'm more chilling in Bulgaria like Bulgaria is like realistically if you look at bulgaria like with the anti like yeah gay laws and shit like that like that's crazy one it's not even anti-gay in bulgaria it's like people don't even think that gays exist you get less stared at in bulgaria than you're doing blue and i wasn't even dressed that different i was in jeans yeah like i don't know it was so weird no germany can be really backwards yeah it's like really i i just i just think people make out especially people from london who moved to blinn like they make out that it's this like haven and it just it's not and I think it shouldn't be sold as that.

22:51It's just a, I think it's like a It's just a city. A microcosm of Berlin. Yeah, yeah. But I was trying to find the microcosm. Yeah. But it's all spread and weird and like. Well, and I think the microcosm is centred around Yeah. I don't know. I don't want to disrespect people. Yeah, exactly. And I think people have clearly found, yeah people have really clearly found community there. Well, and that's why people initially went there is because it was like it's always been an artistic city for sure so and then the rent was cheap so then like it became this really cool haven like a hub yeah yeah since then it's like become more and more expensive as has happened many times over history um so that now it like it is it doesn't it still has artists but it's not nearly as cheap so it slightly loses the i don't know practicality of it all i'm saying all this like love everyone in belin hope you're well yeah and like i'm i hope that you find what i couldn't find there and then also would love to go and play because people like you should go and play in belin so i was like absolutely and i'd love to go back for that but like i'd also like to say that that would only be the only reason i wouldn't go back for leisure or pleasure again they couldn't convince me i mean i go because my best friend zoe lives there yeah exactly love and i love seeing her and it's like you know when you have you know someone in a city it's like sure i'm just gonna hang out with her friends it's kind of like yeah she'll like take you around yeah that's exactly it that's the reason why i'd go but also yeah i i do think if you're not uh clubbing there or taking a shitload of drugs you can still have a good time but i say that as someone who has done that every single time yeah so hard for me to say and also it does have like a scary vibe to it yeah like the even though i do like some of the architecture there is something slightly spooky about when you walk around parts about not even to do with the people just the buildings yeah it's just not it's just not my place and i think i think the reason why i've been going on a bit so much is like even like going to like new york i felt the same about new york because i went to philly and new york at the same time like the same like oh yeah and i loved philly i loved it so much and then i went to new york and i was like oh my god this isn't my tease and i think there's like a part in my heart that breaks every time i go somewhere that like i'm told by everyone else or people assume every time i say i go to plin it's my first time people like it's your first time like i think it's the same thing like you didn't go to goldsmiths like i think people really really assume things about me and so when i do those things that people are like when people do those things when i do those things that people like that's obviously what you're gonna love and i don't love it like i think my heart breaks a little bit it's the same like New York where I went to New York and I was like this your girl?

25:41Like I couldn't believe it and I'm not yet giving up on New York, it wasn't that bad but Germany's gag me, goot me girl, like I can't believe, I can't believe But did you have that with London when you moved here? No, London still to this day and I know I complain about getting sick of it, blows my mind this is the best city ever, I'm so sorry I will die on this hill Every time I go somewhere I'm like fuck we're lucky we are so, like everyone in London all together let's hold hands and I know everyone like we don't always see eye to eye and people don't see eye to eye people in London and stuff and so forth but like it is the best city the green is green there's a lot of green as well in the city I feel like there's so many different examples of architecture I think there's so many examples of like communities and they all just coming together I felt like I felt gassed to get back to Stratford International after being on DLR after the flight fuck you were gassed to be back in Stratford International babe and just seeing that's how bad it was all like these different faces all these different nationalities clearly some gay people straight people whatever i was like this is my shit i had the same this is my shit like this is where i'm meant to be just like this like weird city in the uk that just bad people live in and no one really knows why i had the same thing coming back from mexico city where i was like i forgot how multicultural london was it's amazing because mexico is not actually it's pretty monocultural ethnically.

27:05I came back to London, I was like, holy shit. It's so nice. Yeah. We sound like a DLR advert, not a DFL advert. Yeah, yeah. This is our London. All of the ethnicities, it was absolutely gorgeous. No. No, but it is like, you know, just everyone. I just love it. Seeing like trannies in the street, like, and actually no one gives a fuck. Like, we are like so lucky. And even when I like, got shouted out by that man for coming out of the girls' toilets, I was just like, that shit actually wouldn't happen in London. like people wouldn't say anything like people look fine whatever but like people in london i think they kind of like respect your shit like that you respect theirs and i respect like do you know i mean yeah i don't know yeah so i think every time i go somewhere i'm like yeah fierce i think as i get older i'm realizing that if i go away like city breaks might not be my tea unless it's like a chill city like i think i am meant to just like go to like countryside yeah that's good you don't Just wait until, if you're ever single again, just wait.

28:03And then it will come back. Yeah, I won't. I'm never going to be single again. I'm kind of jealous of you because I came back from my holiday. And I was like, I mean, don't get me wrong. I've got a bug to be back. I'm feeling motivated. You uploaded a video on Instagram yesterday. I thought, go on, girl. She's got an accent on again. She's doing her thing. We're on smoke. People are loving it. Bring the accents out, play the fucking hits. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do the Irish accent. I know I posted a thing when me and Bill did one yesterday as well. Thank you. That was good. So was yours. But I do think that if I didn't have, obviously it's a great privilege to be in the city where there is so much going on, whether it be musically or whatever the fuck this is.

28:54But I think if it wasn't for that, I would move abroad. But I feel like because of those things and because ultimately those things are my priority, there's nowhere better to be. Which, again, is like an advantage. But like... Like, I still believe I will leave London. Like, I will leave to move to the middle of nowhere. But past your prime. Yeah, but like, ultimately knowing that like... When you're hanging up your boots. Yeah, when I'm hanging up my boots. But like, ultimately knowing that like, I'd come back to London and it'd be the city that like, I gave like, my adult life to. Do you know what I mean?

29:27Yeah. I mean, there's nowhere better to be. There's not. There's nowhere better to apply. Wake it up. Potentially New York, but nobody would give a shit about us there. Yeah, potentially New York, but then it's just like, I think New York and London have the same attitude, but New York do it in a way that's like loud. Like, I feel like London's like, yeah, you do your shit. And a bit more competitive and cynical. Yeah, like with London, it's like, it's the same attitude being like, you do you, I'll do me. But I think New York's like, no, but you really fucking do you. And then it's like, move.

29:58but if you don't do you you fucked it like get out of the way like I whereas I London's like do you I literally don't care vibes vibes yeah and that's what we have to say about Berlin about Berlin I um I love that unless a brand wants to send me there for a straight divert and I would just like to shout out the Hoxton Hotel for being so kind I'm putting this up did you bus out the Lily Allen butt plug in Berlin no it's behind you it's behind me it's a USB so well it's also a butt plug yeah but uh did we no no no for sure um we've been seeing videos of lily allen's tour i think it looks fab and i also don't so you're the same as bill so this is it i think it looks fab you were told you were told you being the public we're told it's her gonna be performing the whole album from start to finish right that is a what a 40 minute album 50 minute album people are going and they're like gagged it it's not the exact master concert she literally said that's why she's doing the other shows she literally said that that's what it's going to be that's why there's a string quartet before playing all her hits on string quartet to get the crowd singing along act one and act two like the whole thing is i think done so well and so tastefully i can't understand why people are vex and also it's fucking illie allen i saw her when i was like 19 turning 20 missing was fucked running around this hang on where take take roundhouse roundhouse i I was 19.

31:24It was the day I was, it was my birthday. No, going into my birthday. So the day I turned 20, so my teen years were officially over. I went to see Lily Allen on the 18th of December. Pink hair. Pink hair. Yeah. Just stomping her on the stage. Clearly fucked up. Everything goes down the end of the concert for my, my shame. Was it that I tried everything, everything with trigger bang on it and all those songs. And then she closed the shot, the show by bringing that shy effects and doing rude boy. You look like a smoke. got no wee but don't got no rizzler i love it really boy you look like a smoker i love it um i thought that was fierce i thought the set design looked amazing i thought she looked amazing yeah she looks amazing choreography could we not have spent a little more time on the choreo yeah could we not have done a couple classes but then she's not but then i also think she's not louis spence when is lily allen ever bust a move do you know what I mean?

32:23True but then you know what it is you know what it is? Do you know what it is? I understand like everyone wants an apple dance moment I get it like everyone wants an apple dance and so I think that like the four chance stand is the one where she's like this and like like okay I get you it's never been Lily Allen's number one thing but then maybe don't do it but she's standing there looking beautiful and singing like you don't get mad at Adele for not busting a move for rolling in the deep do you? like we can't get mad at lilia no but no she doesn't okay right yeah that's what i'm saying don't do it then if you're gonna yeah if you're gonna do mid choreography yeah i understand don't do it because you don't need to do it okay but i i love it's we're in this kind of cool have you seen what they do during madeline uh no they put a spotlight on someone in the ground the first night in Glasgow I saw her on TikTok they put a spotlight yeah no it was a guy and a girl for one night and like they put it on them and like the guy commented on it because he's literally sat there like this and he's like the most like he looks like the most nervous guy like if it was me and you we'd be like you know what I mean but like it shines on these two people and they look fucking mortified and then there's a photo that their mate took that wasn't in it and they look like the shitter and he was literally like I've never shit myself so much my life the whole of madeline she's singing to you and you're sat there under a spotlight it's so funny quite genius but ultimately like i would i would die i could fucking die um i want to do a more general check-in which i think i'm already going to know your answer to yeah but when the lilian album came out west end girl i was arguing with my friends yeah that i thought basically their argument was it is only it is mainly interesting because it's like tabloid journalism it's like it's like the gossip and the like the rush of this reveal yeah and i was like i don't think that i think it will like last time exactly and at least in my personal experience I'm slightly you turning on that because I did listen to it quite a lot when it came out.

34:38Yeah. Haven't gone back to it at all. So I have gone back to it a lot. Okay. I have gone back to it a lot. Did you go back to specific songs or did you listen to the whole album? Don't listen to the whole album, specific songs. I understand what you're saying and I also feel like, I think it's, I actually, I mean, obviously I love Lily Allen so like it's whatever but I think the thing that really, I would love, a fraction of her success and talent. But she, like, I don't know if I could keep beef up this long. I think my spirit, my spirit couldn't do it. Like, now everyone knows, everyone's a thing.

35:12But then I think what I really enjoy is that she's doing the thing. If there's anything that Lily Allen does, she stands up to the patriarchy to the point of, like, it almost, like, passes a point and then goes into its own life form, if that makes sense. Because I feel like I wouldn't be able to do it because I'd then be thinking, like, oh, you know, maybe I've gone on too long trying to give like the forgiveness, but she's actually like, no, actually you fucked up my life. I wrote this album about you and you were going to watch me do a whole tour about it. That's sold out immediately. I think there is, and like, you know, there's that bit where she like holds up the sheet and it's like the, the receipts from like Bergdorf's and that he actually spent whatever.

35:48Though I think that's genius. I, I wouldn't do it, but then maybe I'm a pussy. Like maybe I'm like trying to like buy that bow down. Maybe I would have actually, I probably would. Yeah. I think my first relationship I could still go on about to now and like an absolutely... I was thinking of calling an EP after him. Really? Just his name and just writing him. No, you've already got the EP name. It's great. No, no, but after my second EP, writing a whole EP about it and just putting his name as the EP title. You're not messing around, are you? No, because I think also like when someone fucking ruins your life to the point where like you...

36:19Your brain is changed by them. They change like neuropathways and you try to believe in like someone fucked you up, they're bad. I'm like, yeah, tear him down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, you can't do that. Even when people are like, oh, he's so nice on set. It's like, yeah, you can be so nice on set, but then if you're going home and, like, psychologically ruining a woman's life, like, are you a good person? No, I don't. I think that's still one of the great things about the album is how she fully went into that mode. And she's also Lily fucking Allen. That's what she does. Exactly. Yeah. But I do also hear you that, but I think that about, like, most performances of music, Like how are you Especially when you get to a certain level Yeah You write an album about something And then you're in a completely different space Yeah By the time you perform it I tell myself like Here's someone like you Yeah Do you know what I mean Just fucking have it This one especially Yeah I imagine she is probably already going like Fuck's sake We're gonna have to go back into this mode What I like about her though Is that she's not like getting up there And like crying over it Like she's just singing the song I feel a bit like There's one artist that comes to mind And I think when I say this People will know who I mean but like trying to like fake cry to songs that like you've clearly performed like a million times yeah um yeah say that yeah but you know how i'm talking about uh i actually don't okay but there's like it doesn't have to be them as an example right but it can be anyone right but ultimately it's the thing it's like don't do the hoo-ha around it anymore because you clearly don't feel that way like you have to sing the song i understand you can be like solemn But I think to try and fake cry Is not like And also everyone knows it's a fake cry And if they don't I know people aren't I was watching an actor's table thing last night You know those awful things Where actors talk to each other Who was it?

38:13Adam Driver I never watched the male ones I just watched female ones I've never watched one at all Because I can't last more than 10 seconds But I watched a Robert De Niro film the other night called The King of Comedy, which was really fucking bizarre, but quite good. And Bobby De Niro was on it. Adam Driver was on it. I can't remember. Tom Hanks was on it. Awful, awful, awful guy. You were almost in a film with Tom. I didn't get it, though. So it's fine, lads. You would have hated him based on this conversation. Yeah, and it was filming in Berlin. God. Me and Bill were literally saying he was like, if you got that, you would be so miserable.

38:59Yeah, for sure. Like, so miserable. Anyway, Adam Driver says... Can I say that? Yeah, for sure. Fuck it, I didn't get it. Did you sign an NDA? Oh. No one knows the lies. No one knows. It's fine. It's fine. Adam Driver says you can't force crying. You can only let it naturally happen. as a result yeah the writing you can't you can't go like okay it's time to cry now which i never thought about um but i think it applies oh my god i think it applies here in the state of performing music as well like if it's not if it's not coming naturally yeah probably people can tell for sure um speaking of artists who are tearing down the patriarchy have you listened to harry styles new album um listen to half of it because i was only saying I thought it was fine I understand what he was trying to do and I think he was listening to LCD he was listening to MID Sound System ICMB Sound System and I think he was listening to Tame Impala I think he was listening to Tame Impala I understand the university he was trying to go to who produced it?

40:19so many people one of the main producers like the wall of synths I saw in like a picture. I think that can hit a point with every artist where like there's too much going on in that studio, trying to prove too many points. I think there's some absolute hits on there. I think it's fine. And I think he's Harry Styles. I think he's like fine. I like the styling. I think what he does and has always done is be like pretty clean. I think he just does like really clean things. It's fine. All the gear and no idea though. Yeah, all the gear and some idea. yeah sorry some idea good clarification but like i can't tell if it's more i remember the do the most recent duolipa album which is produced by as well um it was when it was being positioned and marketed it was like this is like the biggest pop album ever and but not just that but like it's psychedelic it's trip pop or like it's it's going to be like this thing that was that really did i remember when that came out and everyone was like came out and it was like it was like a euro dance yeah record barely as well like no shade like but it's like i think the positioning he's clearly trying to do something that is more indie i guess the indie is the word yeah he's trying he's making an indie dance record yeah because he's now into and similarly the positioning is like harry's going to berghain Harry's listening to Ben Clark Harry's obsessed with LCD sound system it's like as soon as you start putting these things in the PR the expectation goes up so much higher also LCD sound system everyone loves them you've had enough I've not had enough I love them but I think them is like you can't put an LCD the only person I've heard chatting shit about LCD sound system is Celia Banks she was like I can't believe that that's the band that everyone's going on about they are ultimately if you've ever worked in a cafe you probably know the words to an lcd sounds on every playlist it doesn't gag me when an artist like i've been listening to lcd or talking heads both of those artists i'm like i'm not gagging well because i'm just kind of like yes because they are good pop musicians exactly yeah it's that he was the cool the cool ish one but in one direction yeah yeah but he is still inherently as much as he tries the biggest pop artist in the world Well yes So Damning of what I'm about to say But a Flake 99 Okay Vanilla Yeah Fucking Really talented Beautiful Centre parks Sexy Yeah lovely though And charming And it's always lovely to go to centre parks Will I be revisiting an album And a Flake 99 is lovely Ultimately as well And I know obviously he'll then be like Well just because I said disco doesn't mean it's disco How face would it have been if it was just a disco record Like to just make like a disco record And just call it like And call it what he called it And make just like Straight down the nose No gagging about it The name Disco record The name as well He just shouldn't have said disco I feel like that was also the thing Like everyone was like What's the worst album title That or I like it when you sleep Because you're beautiful Yet so unaware of it 1975 second I don't mind that Second one I don't mind that title The second one I don't mind both of them to be honest I quite like long album Kissing all the time disco occasionally yeah kiss all the time disco occasionally it's just and i think in comparison to the last album where he did make the most advert sounding song of all time with uh

43:59yeah it's still ad music it has got a bit better but it's just like it's just rocket vintage i also yeah i really struggle so sometimes i list harry styles and I'm saying it's the most love because I actually do love Harry Styles and if one day I meet you at Harry Styles I will tell you that I love him and it's cool how he came out of that and tried to do something slightly also I really love how he releases something within like two days he's got like 100 million listens I'm like that man is so famous I actually feel bad for how famous that man is and I actually do love him I think he's great and Bill specifically loves Harry Styles I do think there does hit a point where it's like with like your Harry Styles you do a Leeper like Lizzo for example like every one of that ilk that is like so famous When someone tries to do something emotional It like I can't relate I think there hits a point where It's not even talking about Harry Styles anymore Just talking about someone so famous So far away From where we are They've got like yachts and shit I can't relate to you No matter if you're going through heartbreak It's like Taylor Smith She could genuinely get broken up with By Travis Kelsey and release a song in two days about it and I can't feel that way about it because I can't relate to your life anymore.

45:10Like to the point of like sickness. Like I don't know. I think I get that. I hear that. I think it's more just like, give me some hooks, Harry. Yeah, I do think that is, I think there is like a thing in it where I think you almost have a duty once you're that big of an artist where you're just like, girl, just play the hits. Play the hits. I don't think anyone, because oh no I'm not going to say that because I love it don't say it okay I think you can do the two minute intro yeah for sure get your synths out Harry but then like American Girls banger love like wait which one's American Girl the one that's like I like to kiss American Girls or whatever shit have I even heard that it's the second song on it oh I have heard that yeah and it's like it's good do you know who's new album I did like and kind of gagged me a little bit Yebba I haven't listened to that so So I thought, so Yeba, I fell off Yeba when she did My Amanda Nevergreen, kind of solely kind of thing.

46:10Her voice is, I think, second to none, possibly on the best. But her new album is so like simple and almost like Phoebe Bridgery. Okay. It's a bit more like, it's less like, but like it's, yeah, it's almost, it's really indie, but like indie like sing a song like that. And like, it's really beautiful. Like I really enjoyed it. You could pop it on in the background. It's very ill offensive. I don't think it's going to change your life. Sunday brunch listening. So easy to send a bunch of listening. It's lovely. Do you know what it's called? The main song is called Yellow Eyes or Yellow Days or something.

46:44I can't remember. It's called Clover. I'll listen to it and let you know what I think. Clover, I think. Harry Styles is the mental health duck teddy guy of music. The thing is, I actually had a conversation once about Josie, who was signed to the same record label as him at the time. and she said we have to give it to harry styles because harry styles earns the money that all the other artists can live on and i think that is so good because that's a tea he'll immediately sell out he'll sell out world tour so that gives the record label enough money 30 dates at madison square garden exactly sell it out for like 200 pound a ticket he'll sell that out to ensure that a smaller artist can actually sign to those record labels and have like a decent life so we love Harry Styles do you see what I mean I do see what I mean someone has to be the juggernaut for sure and it's it's very easy to hate on the person who is like top that being said I love I loved his British performance the British performance was sick it was fabulous I thought it was amazing that was choreo it was really good that was dancing he's so fit as well I would slob on that knob like Conor Le Corbin in another life yeah in fairness to him he's a great performer he's amazing he's Langer He is.

47:56He is like, oh, he just has a really nice... Great hair transplant. Harry Lambert ate... Great hair transplant. Great hair transplant, yeah. Very subtle. Just like his music. Yeah. Love him. I love him. I'd love to support you, Harry. Moon has supported him one time. Really? Yeah, that... Fuckers are supporting him, which is very telling of what... Which is fun. Who else is supporting him? I couldn't tell you. Fuckers. But very telling of what... Robin's supporting him. He's trying to... Oh, is she? Yeah. Well, yeah. We'll get the boring spot for the UK, though. we always do it just does make me a little bit sad that i've been into this music i feel like there's been a slight resurgence of indie dance yes and i guess it's it's fun i find it fun when things go from underground to mainstream whatever that is and i'm like i feel like i come into it with optimistic like hope and i don't think it yeah didn't do that and i feel like now that wave or maybe slightly kind of who knows but Harry Styles is the mental health duck guy have you seen this guy oh no I actually have been told Bill told me about this no I'm very happy that I haven't so there's a guy I don't know his name probably for the best yeah he was a gym influencer right and gym influencing either didn't work out for him don't know what happened first but suddenly he started parading this teddy bear which is a which is a duck okay as his i think it's called quacky or something or quack and he's basically forged a career of like this is my mental health support teddy to the point where he's now and and innately it's such a like that's ridiculous thing yeah that it conjures up hatred in people so he's now made a career out of people going just like, I want to murder your duck or something, you know.

49:54Stupid shit. Who said that? Just, like, loads of people in comments are like, this is ridiculous. Like, the key to mental health and, like, prosperity isn't as simple as you taking a duck around everywhere. But, babe, he got invited to the Brits. He got invited to the BAFTAs. I'm not seeing this. And it's all off the dovetails of men's mental health. And this wee little duck I also think I think this kind of like Ties into the fact that like someone did like a case study The other day like I have to start logging out Of TikTok like posting and ghosting because I'm like So mentally unworked I'm like trying so desperately to click not interested In the things I'm not interested in and it still shows So I'm like But I think that Someone did this like Think piece about how like Gen Z And I'm Gen Z Before anyone fucking comes to me Gen Z are taught that like online you can have this kind of like superior complex where like someone will just do something and if you don't agree you're allowed to say but it doesn't happen in real life but there's this thing that's like even if someone is it happened even with like celebrities where like someone will reply to like say Charlie XCX tweeted something and someone would be like fat In a reply And she'll reply Being like you're a dickhead Don't do that to me And they're like Oh my god mother You replied Like I feel like People just want to invoke reaction And I feel like So many people comment On people's shit There's that girl I'm kind of obsessed She's called like Daisy Or Darcy or something She's like She's like 16 Have you seen that TikTok And it's like I'm scared And she's doing like A cover of Billy Alice That's basically her But like the hate comments She gets on her videos She's just this girl Vlogging doing her life She lives with her parents She's just like Hi I'm going to Pee Louise Do you know what I mean The hate comments are like it's vile but people will talk about it that actually almost like the mental health dog which is like giving what people kind of don't realize is like giving anyone a comment is also giving them like an invitation to the brits if they get enough of it do you know what i mean like it's like we're really past this point where like actually i don't even believe that you have to have good when i was growing up you needed to have good comments all the time majority good comments on your videos now it's like you could only be 50 50 as of 50 50 yeah half of the people like lol love this and then there's like i'm like a few people that are like who are these freak take away the podcast license really think it's 50 50 not 50 50 i'd say 70 30 yeah i'd agree and even our own fans like i have people in my dms i'm we've been through this as well where they'll like insult you yeah and you just kind of like work i guess but i think they just like people just want a reply yeah but like ultimately it's the parasocial thing people feel like yeah they can make fun of you so they can make fun of you and i think i think kind of like one thing i went through with that is like and the mental health talk of it all i think i was like i don't actually read my friends that much like i know we do it a lot on here but like i don't think we like make fun of each other they make fun of other things but like not of each other It's like when people make fun of me, I'm like, I'm actually quite a sensitive salad in Deep Town.

53:07I don't think you are. I think we make fun of each other. Yeah, we do. But like I think that when strangers do it on the internet, I just don't see that as engaging. No, when people... Sometimes I do. Yeah. So it's hard. It's weird. This film I watched with Robert De Niro, the King comedy, Scorsese film. Shout out, Marty. Get me? It's actually weirdly about that exact sort of thing. Robert De Niro is like a, he's a kind of a comedian, but more so he's just like a very lonely, traumatized fan. And he's obsessed with this late night TV show host who he manages to like corner and go like, please give me a chance to be on your show.

53:51and it becomes apparent as the film goes on that him and his accomplice aren't really interested in what it takes to be successful. They just have this parasocial relationship with his late night TV show host and they just want to be close to his life and get any reaction out of him even if it's one of hate and like I'm gonna call the police. It's a really weird film. Have you seen that video of Chapel that's been going around? Oh my god I couldn't watch it. Well, she's like, it is bad. No, I think it's cool that she did it, but like at the same time, just made my skin cool. I would never do that.

54:25Yeah, yeah. But the bit where she's like videoing that fan who's trying to get her to sign something and this guy, and he goes, hey, baby. He goes, hey, baby. He's like crazy. But it is like part of like, there's two things. He could either not understand and that's like really sad because he doesn't realize what's going on. It's just like thing. Ultimately, he could also have been following around Paris and it's weird like again you just like never know so we actually don't know what went on but it was difficult to watch and again people in two mindsets because I love Chapel and she definitely does have a point like she does have a point however like you do get people like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga in interviews being like you can just disappear like she's like I spend a lot of money so people do not know where I am yeah I don't blame also like if you're in I feel bad for everyone because it's happened to Jenny from Blackpink and I think it actually happened to Alex I think Alex Kinzani really holds it down but like people do get mobbed in France for fashion week like people really do like there's like videos of like I've never seen a video of like a fan video of Alex Kinzani where she like ignores fans but like at the minute she's just like running past people because I think it is awful there's that video of Jenny being like please if I give you autographs can you please leave me alone like she's like please I will genuinely give you all autographs just fuck off but they don't leave her alone like it must be wild no I think I would probably, I think it's easy to say that you I get why Taylor Swift and Charlie XX can say it because it's happened to them.

55:52Yeah. I think it would be rich of me to say like just walk away. For sure, yeah. It must be horrible. Have you seen that one of Charlie in LA? I can see you. No, no, no, no, no. It was like recent and this guy was like how many likes can I get for us to have a song together? Did you see it? Her and George are like walking and they're trying to get this car and the car that's waiting for them isn't for them and they're like going up and like they just won't leave her alone and it's actually just like she was nice enough but like as a human like doing that to someone i can't even go like even in a workplace i can't go to someone and if someone's not in the mood to talk i'm not going to talk to them like i'm just not going to do that the minute i tell someone doesn't want to talk to me i'm like girl i gotta run do you know what i mean like fuck that like i hate i can't believe that people exist and they're just like it's so gross everything's on camera yeah everything is on camera and if she was like just fuck off people would probably go like yeah yeah yeah it's crazy did you see that uh timothy charlamé got slated for slagging opera ballet and i'm enjoying the backlash from it yeah i understand he had i don't think he has a point i understand what he's trying to say i do get what he's trying to say but i feel like to slag off like an institution like opera or ballet that have shaped everything but also i feel like i don't know i might say something like that it's just yeah it's a flipping comment when actually not that yeah when you get a platform like that yeah but i i also enjoyed all the responses yeah like of everyone and it's gonna be great for opera and ballet for sure exactly exactly but i didn't know that people i didn't know doja cat fucked with opera like that yeah but i just think people just want to invoke reaction no and if you're hearing that like oh yeah but Dogecat was a dancer what do you want to invoke feeling and worth and I don't know I actually don't know at the minute ejaculation yeah I've got my testosterone blockers so you come off yeah I'm going to change to finasteride for a bit okay I feel like because when you get all your testosterone blocked finasteride's the one for yeah because it like blocks a bit of your testosterone so I could go on blocker yeah that's what Vanessa right is okay but I I'm coming off decapeptal because it blocks it to the point of nothing so you have like no testosterone which obviously was good for you start of your transition but now like you need testosterone to build muscle whether you're a woman like it's this woman or it's this woman however you need a little bit yeah and like I want to be able to build muscle again I feel like quite weak like I like I feel like really like squishy not like not in like a body like I feel that that's not what I'm saying I feel weak like I feel like I can't do the things I used to like I wouldn't be able to do a pull up now and that really bothers me I can only do like if the zombie apocalypse started like I would be fearful do you know what I mean like I do like ab exercises every day like press ups and stuff and I really struggle like I wouldn't be able to do more than I'm already doing and that really annoys me or like I'm really tired by the end of the day and it's because I know that I haven't got any testosterone and I don't want to live my life like that that's good strength is cool yeah How long have we been talking?

59:01We have been talking for just under an hour. Do you want to do some agony aunts and call it? I just want to do I know everyone's probably like God, this guy's still banging on about Mexico but I have one last thing that I need to say. What? Me talking about Mexico? No, no, no. Is it that bad? So funny how literally last episode was just me talking about my holiday for 25 minutes. and you did such a good job of going like I know, of listening oh nice did you see I was doing the autistic blink? where I'm trying to focus really hard I'm like I'm doing the nicknames I know I know it's because when you go on holiday and you like and you know what it's like but I was like when you're with friends and you're like oh my god that is the funniest thing ever yeah and then you leave it's like talking about your dreams yeah yeah you hate people talking about your dreams I love people talking about your dreams but I really locked in you did lock in But there is just two small details that I left off, which I think would be funny, which is that when we got to this beach hostel that I was talking about, a very desolate place, we kind of didn't speak to the staff initially.

1:00:13And then the parakeet, my friend, obviously ended up hooking up with Fanny. Yeah. Right. So then after that, like, communication did build after, like, two days of being there. and um the parakeet was like to find he's like what did you like think of us like what did you think our vibe was and she was like we thought you were all gay all five of you so i just want to say that's fun that this isn't this is this is where i come from yeah yeah i'm gay we're all queer baiters yeah yeah all of my friends together and your favorite chris is so gay they called him the blonde twink behind his yeah i love i love him i actually really love him um And then...

1:00:53Oh, I love him so much. And then just finally... Is he gay? No, he's not gay. He's in a lovely cis straight relationship. Has he ever tried to be gay, though? Not to my knowledge, but potentially. Oh, lovely. He's so lovely. He's the best. He's so nice.

1:01:13So the parakeet walks into my room at the beach hostel and I'm butt naked with a stray dog, which has fleas as it turns out. Okay, great. Just in case you're itching. And you're touching me. No, I'm not itching, I don't have fleas, don't worry He then goes back to the toilet Because he's so violently ill And then he's to and froming One time he to's and from's He's butt naked walking to the toilet He doesn't poo himself Because it's like 3am He's like, nobody's going to see me And he comes back to the room And he walks in And He thinks he hears me Going, what's your name? No Who is it? Yeah. And he's like, it's the parakeet.

1:01:55It's me. What the fuck are you talking about? Turns out it's this lovely guy, Tito, that we met earlier from Germany, whose room it is. Yeah. And he's like, oh, bro, I think you have the wrong room. And he's like, I was worried he was tripping on shrooms. Yeah. So he's like, thank God he walks into this guy we met room, Tito, and not some fucking random person who we didn't know. because he was butt naked and he tried to get into the bed. Fuck me. And then he walks back into my room and I'm still butt naked with a fucking flea ridden dog. Anyway, shout out to Tito for being so kind. Have you ever exposed yourself to anyone like that?

1:02:34No. That's good. No, I don't think so. Have you ever walked into someone's room by accident? Neither. My friend Christina's kid. That's a real fear of mine. My friend Georgia and Christine, when we were kids, Christine was laying at George's house and she slept, walked, and got into bed with George's parents. I, like, love George's parents, but I, like, girl. My brother once got into bed with my parents when he was super high. On Christmas. That's fun. My brother used to get home on Christmas too. And isn't that what Christmas is all about? It really is. Do we have agony aunts? Do people still listen to this podcast?

1:03:13We've got loads sent, like, before. Guys, also, Thanks for running up that Mooner episode on YouTube Yeah I know We are on YouTube If you want to listen to that That's fine If you want to listen somewhere else That's also fine But for some reason the Mooner episode did really well on YouTube And if you've Joined our podcast from the Mooner episode Welcome It's really good to have you here I'm the other guy The other guy Hello I'm the straight Right, you ready? I'm ready, yeah. Agony on. Hello, cis girl here from Finsbury Park, living in Cambridge. I've basically turned celibate, and I want to figure out how to have more fun sex without having my peace, mind, work, life being too disturbed.

1:04:00Also, I want to be with girls, but I have so little experience, I'm scared of being the straight girl trying women out. Plus, all the men in this place that I meet are jarring and usually uggers to say, usually uggers to me. I hate to say it. How do I stop my youth and years of hot sexual prowess? prowess slipping out from underneath me without compromising standards and having the kind of sex which makes you want to shower two weeks straight after. Is this even possible? Love you. Love Lou. So much Godspeed. Now the thing is, yeah. Sorry, first off, uggers. Ugly to me? Ugly, yeah. I think sometimes you just have to do it.

1:04:38Sex, fucking... No, but like, no, no, no, no. But like, sometimes you'll think that something's a good idea. I went on this date with this guy called Max like name and shame he came to my life like a 24 hour bender we went on a date and he stayed at mine and I was like that was a you went on a date after his 24 hour bender yeah but I didn't know that and he lived on a boat oh god but like he came around my house and like it was just horrible and like he had like stubble and it was like cutting up my face I got a very sensitive face and like he was like cutting up he was cutting up your face with his stubble with his stubble yeah it's gross so I yeah sometimes you have to do those ones are like, why did I do that?

1:05:16Consent is important. Very important to the Straight Diva podcast. I honestly think it's no one else's concern. Eventually, if you want to try out women, you're going to have to try one out. Do you know what I mean? You're going to have to be on a date. Just be clear from day. Yeah, everyone starts somewhere. And ultimately, if someone's just looking for sex too, they're not going to be too arsed that you're, you know. Just be clear and concise and not deny anything that you are doing. It's not like you're going out and using a woman. It's that you're like, I've never done this before. I think I fancy women.

1:05:46There we go. Like someone has to start somewhere. That's better than a life of just not fucking doing it and feeling like angry at yourself that you never did it. Yeah. And if someone is an understanding of that, then. Yeah. And also you might meet this person. You might be the first person and they become like your lifelong partner. Like you might, that might be the thing you're missing. Yeah, they take your V and they're like, oi, you get some kind of freaky, older pervert ones. That's just you. freaky older pervert ones freaky older pervert ones is me no but like sometimes you no no no you like to go for those ones what younger girls older girls oh yeah trust me uh no not you nor the girl like you're the girls that go for your older but i um yeah yeah let's unpack that no no not today um but i do think there is you have to do those things to be able to know that you like or don't like something um yeah it sounds like there's two problems here yeah there's there's feelings of shame yeah having to shower for two weeks after having yeah straight hat sex with with cambridge's finest yeah which you know i don't know much about the cambridge dating pool or cambridge at all to be honest uh but may not be the best especially when you're from London.

1:07:08Yeah. And then there's an issue or a separate issue of you kind of feeling scared to experiment with women. Right? So, I think we need to tackle the two problems separately. The guy thing in Cambridge, right? Look, I don't know what the dating pool is in Cambridge. is it a question of the guys themselves you meet there are you're just gonna struggle to find those that are to the liking of you or is it that you are just having feelings of shame about one night stands generally and maybe that's a an internal problem uh and you're like or like maybe you're getting quite drunk and then you kind of feel gross about it or maybe like maybe too many of them are leading to sex when they shouldn't have.

1:08:10Like, I find in my experience that there's no shame. The only times I feel shame, and it is rare, is... We know. We can see it. Is if you have sex with someone and you regret it. I have never regretted having sex with someone. There's been times I haven't enjoyed, but I don't regret any of it. Oh, I'm the opposite. I usually really enjoyed it in the moment and then I wake up the next day and I'm like I actually didn't oh really oh no I and it was still a great time but it's just the aspect of sex ultimately though I do think like I think there is so much pressure put on people to like how about and like thought about like I actually didn't how about as much as possibly people think I do I think people a lot of people think I still got some left in you no but no but like I've been like in three relationships Where I was like For over a year In my life I'm only 27 You know Really?

1:09:11And in between that Yeah You're 27? Yes I've never said my age before You're doing so well Thank you But like I like I wasn't having mad sex In between It wasn't like I was like breaking up With someone And like going around And fucking Like I'd have like Occasional sex I just don't Chill Yeah You'll find someone That you want to have sex With don't like Yeah don't Chase it mad. Like, don't. Not saying you're doing this, but try not having sex on the first date. Yeah, and you can... Oh, no, have sex on the first date. Have sex... But this person in this situation... Why? Me and Bill have sex on the first date.

1:09:46Yeah, and that's great. And having sex on the first date can be great. But sometimes, if you're feeling shame about having sex, maybe we dial it down on the sex. I think dial it down on the sex altogether. If you've got shame about sex, you need to unpack that alone. Yes, which is why... is it a you problem yeah i just think or is it a man you want multiple things you want to have sex with people that aren't ugly i.e men then just stop having sex with ugly men and then you want to have sex with women start having sex with women yeah and just be clear about everything that's happening yeah i feel like the the women thing is easily sold you just have to be up front and be self-faithing yeah and joke about it and i used to have this issue with my ex-boyfriend where like he wanted to be like more outward outwardly queer and stuff and i was like well bitch fucking do it a lot of us don't have the chance to do it like i don't get it like i feel like it's that's what like he was always like people when i'm with you in public i always feel like invisible because you're straight there being like hey girl hey babe i'm like well then do it like you can just do that like i don't like i don't he's jealous well yeah it's definitely that everyone is but like i i but i think it is just i think it's like do it like ultimately the only person that's going to save you is you and you have to make that decision like if you want to date women go and fucking date women like be clear they're the first woman you've dated that's fine you're figuring yourself out and you want to be honest with them if they don't want that they can also say no and i guarantee they won't say no do you know what i mean like if i met someone that's like i've never dated trans women before i'm like yeah what's new carry on like it is what it is yeah or um you need to change your perspective on what an ideal man is because the cambridge man is different to the London man.

1:11:31Yeah, exactly. Or move your hinge location to fucking Stoke Newington if you're that arsed. Or just like meet men at Christmas when you're back home in London. True. Or, but yeah, we don't need to go celibate. No, I'm not, yeah. You've been celibate. Okay, so if you've been celibate. No, they've not been celibate. They've been fucking ugly men, I think. Is she not saying she was coming back from being celibate? You need to unpack your relationship with sex in general. In general. if you're, if it's affecting your perspective on dating and if you're contemplating going celibate, it's good that you're contemplating and you're clearly in touch with it.

1:12:12But maybe just ask yourself, where is the shame coming from? Is it the guys? Is it the sex? Is it you? Is it Cambridge? Yeah. There we go. There we go. Final one, because I am run out of puff. so my boyfriend had sex with his best friend when we had an open relationship and told me when we decided to close it and now she has told him that it did mean more to her than she had thought

1:12:42that's just a peaky one to be fair this is why just open relationships don't do them I don't think they work lads honestly if anyone out there being like I'm going to give these divas a book deal do one on me and why poly and open just doesn't work published by penguin published by penguin why surely in the maybe it's not a law but an unwritten convention of an open relationship best friends are off limits yeah i think that's a disrespect to you anyway yeah to be like oh yeah so we decided to go open so i decided to pork my bestie because that's all good for everyone because you know that person yeah that's not fair that doesn't feel fair and then obviously he's then going to be like well we didn't say that did we but then it's like surely that goes without saying it's like when someone goes open and they're like yeah it's just an arrangement if one of us aren't at home like if one of us go away it's like do your thing if that's one end of the spectrum this is the other end of the spectrum ultimately if you're best friends with someone as someone who's tried to get with a best friend before, like when me and Laura were in love with each other, it's very easy to confuse, not even confuse, but understand how a relationship could easily change from that.

1:14:03So you almost can't blame his best friend because ultimately if he turns around and fucks her, I'm assuming, like, you know, God bless her because she's being fucked about as well. Do you know what I mean? And now you've closed your relationship, that's great. But ultimately, he's done a nuisance. Yeah, they're back together and they close the relationship again That's the tea, that's why, yeah Oh, sorry, I thought she just said He went and fucked his best friend He fucked her, what do I do? No, no, no, open relationship, they've closed it again But in the meantime, he told her that he fucked his best friend And now his best friend's like I felt it was a bit more than just fucking Oh my god So he knew what he was fucking doing, he's a dick, mate Sorry, your man's a dick No, but it was an open relationship Yeah, but I kind of agree with you, best friend Just anyone, like, I think that That would be what I'd say is like anyone in the world, there's 7 billion people and you chose a person that we're just going to have to sit on a dinner table with.

1:14:57Like really? Were you that desperate to do that? Like what is that about? That would play on my mind. That's not fair. Well, and that's maybe the appeal of it to them is that even though it's open, it's like this forbidden thing. But then that's insulting. Why is it forbidden? Because you know you're going to hurt the other person and yeah, he went and did it. Yeah. That's horrible. It is horrible. I'm trying to theorise why this happened. But not that that is even of your concern right now. It's kind of irrelevant. Because you did have an open relationship. We don't know the exact times you were open in a relationship.

1:15:30You need to work out whether the thing that he did, shagging his best friend, even though you were open, pisses you off, basically, and was across another boundary. Because ultimately, that would make me very upset. I think that would be like me and Bill opening and me fucking you. And then just closing it with Bill and being like, like Lou's going to come on. Back to normal. Yeah, yeah. Lou's going to come on every Thursday and it'll be like funny. Do you know what I mean? Like that's not right. That's also not. Maybe you're the type of person that could do that. Because you went into the open relationship in the first place.

1:16:02This is the thing with open. So maybe you're the type of person that can come back from that. And if you can, that's sick. You can come back from it. And there's no judgment. That would be really cool. But ultimately at the same time, I think you can voice that like what they did feels very obvious to why it would hurt you. Yeah. You know? And if he's like, it's not, then that's not fair. And then also the thing of the best friend is like, it kind of gives like, you know, if she's going to be a nuisance to your relationship, like it does give like me or her then. No shade. But like it does hit that point where she's going to be like lusting after your man for the whole of the time.

1:16:39That would make me uncomfortable. I'm so sorry. Like if I was, like if Bill's best mate turned around and was like, I've always been in love with you. I'd be with you. I'd literally be like, right. Do you know what I mean? And it goes back to the thing of there's so many people on this fucking planet. Yeah, why us? Why are you bothering us? Okay, I'm just going to get... It's actually going to just be easier if we just don't. Yeah, imagine. Unless you're in fucking Cambridge or something, and then, I don't know, maybe you need each other. That's a real tricky one, babe, but ultimately what you need to decide is think about everything and decide what you want alone because it's your fucking call.

1:17:10Remember, you've got the power in this. You can end this just as much as you'd like whatever. You can't blame it, and it's also not her fault. No, no, no. It's his fault. And he's done this. And I think what he's done is quite... I, in my personal opinion... Why is it his fault if it's an open relationship? Because he could have picked seven billion people. And he picked the girl that's going to be coming around your house all the time. That's so rank. Unless that was specifically deemed to be fine. But it's highly unlikely. With open, that's the thing. you'd be like, I'm thinking of fucking this guy tonight, whatever.

1:17:50I don't know, I get lost in the laws of open relationships. It's giving messy boots girl, can't lie. Don't wish I was you at the minute. Maybe go to your other friends for advice you want, your boyfriend or your other one. Friends that specifically don't want to fuck you, man. I think that would be quite a good one. And I think you hit the nail on the head. Bottom line is this something you could get over and if it's not then there's so many other wonderful people in the world and you could pick one of them or you could pick neither of them but bottom line is that even though there is you know this anarchist beauty of the open relationship there are just like fundamentals of like human nature that are like that would hurt me so don't feel like you have to bottle those feelings out I think sometimes with Oprah and Polly you really expect to go above your feelings and try to rise above them it's like bitch feel those feelings out because that would hurt my feelings feel those feelings and with that that's been Straight Diva send us a comment yeah comment please love you bye
