In short

The episode is a mix of festival recap, friend banter, and pop-culture commentary, with a major segment debating Joe Weller’s highly public Christian conversion. The hosts discuss Primavera Sound in Barcelona, focusing on Thursday’s rain and uncertainty about stage shutdowns, then highlight sets they saw: Olivia Rodrigo (including a moment where she kissed her Arsenal badge), PinkPantheress, Amara, Call Super, Dijon, Marina, Peggy Gou, and Beverly Glenn-Copeland (an 82-year-old trans man). They also play a “euthanize me” identity-game and talk about collecting football stickers at M&S.

Guests

none. The episode features the hosts and recurring participants (including Bill, Sue, Maisie, Vic, Adam, and Lauren Lyle), plus references to public figures they met or watched (Idris Elba, Dominic West, Ray Winston, and artists at Primavera).

Key claims

Plan B delays ovulation and is widely accessible without ID/prescription; Joe Weller’s online religious emotion is framed as potentially “psychosis” and as performative. Notable examples include the “reveal yourself” holy-spirit clips and Primavera’s weather-driven schedule chaos.

1:13Kim Petras:Oh Yeah

1:15Joe Weller:How's that med sitting? It's really hitting I take it ADHD man I finally got them Want to shout out NeuroSparks For doing my pre-assessment Big shout out to NeuroSparks Plugging us on this one Happy birthday to NeuroSparks Hold your 40 Hey, love you, girl. Yeah, official ADHD. Which one did you get? ADH and also D. Yes, I got it. Oh, what? Med, do you mean? Oh, Ritalin. Oh, hey, the classics. But they said I couldn't take them yet because I have to wait till July because I took MDMA at New Year's. Allegedly, I didn't do that. Any brands that want to work with us, that was a joke.

1:53Kim Petras:You don't tell them you don't.

1:55Joe Weller:I know, which is, oh, I'm getting gifted things. Oh, that is lovely.

1:59Kim Petras:Oh my God, from Lyle and Scott as well. Yeah, from Lyle and Scott.

2:04Joe Weller:How are you?

2:05Kim Petras:Good. Can trans women wear raincoats? Can trans women wear ponchos? Yeah. Yeah? Because it feels like I was thinking about it this morning as I was putting on my Heli Hansen rain jacket.

2:16Joe Weller:Yeah, you just thought, I wonder what Eddie Izzard's wearing out. What is Laverne Cox wearing in this rain? because i feel like um it's it's not very glamorous and they wear like a cinch trench

2:31Kim Petras:styled on a miniburra trench yeah but what about your hair i've seen girls in like winter i know

2:37Joe Weller:a trans girl one two is like the north face to your shin which i hate the north face to your shin puffer with the cinch yeah and i think they rank you like a football coach anyone does like Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hitting them Frank Lampard tees.

2:54Kim Petras:Rainy Night in Stoke ones.

2:58Joe Weller:Wait, what would you wear in the pissing rain? An umbrella. Oh, but like a regular jacket with an umbrella. I just think leather jackets work because it's skin, so it just like rubs off. Okay. Well, I'm glad we got that out of the way. How are your holidays? Really? Do you know what? Actually, I actually do feel like I've had a holiday. Proper holiday. Yeah, which is rare. I never felt this way, like even after Sky or whatever, or like Hungary. I feel like this is like, this was a holiday, like on the beach, tits out on the beach, nudist beaches, which I would also like to touch on later. Why nudist beaches are the most freeing places for everybody because it takes away all like gender performance and stuff.

3:33Joe Weller:Okay. I think it's really amazing. Like I feel more comfortable on nudist beach. You've come back a nudist. Yeah. I mean, Bill's always been a nudist. So we've always gone to nudist beach.

3:41Kim Petras:Oh, really?

3:42Joe Weller:And we actually, we're introducing Bill onto the pod soon whenever he wants to come, I guess, Bill.

3:47Kim Petras:Yeah. Well, okay. Guys, headlines, there's a lot to talk about. There's a lot to talk about. There's a lot to talk about across music, across holidays.

3:55Joe Weller:Music, fashion, film. Across... Welcome in the new... Here he is! Oh, you've got your cute cardie on. Yeah.

4:06Kim Petras:Well, I was just thinking that you've missed a really good segue, which was can trans people wear rain jackets? And then you talk about rain, and then you talk about the fact that the first night of Primvera got... Oh! fuck it's okay it's okay welcome to stage bill milner welcome to the stage guys so for context you were at the the stormy night on uh oh god it's there's a lot to talk about i know you just said that but sue obviously wasn't there because sue was doing a show we'll get on to that i'm sure not we it's your podcast i just am like i'm backseat driving the whole time no no no please There's going to be a million of them.

4:49Kim Petras:You just speak from the heart right now. Yeah. So turned up to Primavera on the Thursday, which is the day one of Primavera. And then after Blood Orange and Geese. And then how she says it is Oklu. Yeah. Which is now like a third way. Because I feel like everyone was saying Oklu or Oklu. And she says Oklu. Oklu. Oklu. Oh, I would have gone Oklu. Yeah, she says Oklu. Ok. Was she good? She was great. She got loads of people there because it was the only thing on? Yes. Also because she's good? Because she's great. And yeah, lots of people want to go there. And I think she's sort of the perfect artist for the demographic that goes to Primavera.

5:32Kim Petras:But actually, it was just before everything was saying that they were cancelling stuff on certain stages or closing stuff down. So she was like amazed about the number of people. What's the mood? What's the chatter when you're hearing this? The stuff is like starting to get shut down. What's what you're depending on like how what group you are in. Yeah, I think I was I'd actually gone to see O 'Clue on my own. And then Maisie and Vic and our pals just like happened to be sat literally one row behind. So then we were like, oh, that was lovely. We enjoyed O 'Clue and then tried to catch up with our bigger group.

6:10Kim Petras:There must have been like 12 of us in like a bigger. and then it becomes this like blah you hear this piece of news you hear that piece of news that's shutting down well okay well what should we do should we wait it out here and and i think the reason that loads of people's thursdays at primavera got so fucked up is because like there was no definitive answer about what was gonna happen it's like being at london stadium on the final day of the season you hear you're trying to hear there's a goal there's been a final goal just for the straights listening yeah all three of you

6:51Kim Petras:um so then our little group decides to leave the festival because it's just it's not going to work out we were chasing the high because there's uncertainty at this point or because you know it's just it's done they were turning people away from the two main stagey bits and so we just thought should we just go because it's wet and we're soaking exactly we're going to be here tomorrow

7:11Joe Weller:the next day so then we go to a bar do you want to and this is just like this is where a lot of our other friends go home at this point people go home home like people like go back to the yeah yeah no but they go back to the hotel so my friend emma well our friend all of our friend emma she goes back at 12 and she stays home so a lot of people are going to bed but not our lovely friend

7:32Kim Petras:and lover bill milner well because some people are pussy also have hotels really far away from the festival if you don't festival right now you need to be within like a 40 minute walk some people were like hours and hours away oh so then it's like am i gonna get back in a taxi blah blah blah some of our friends lorry he was like pissed off because he'd gone back and then gone back and then in the half hour journey it was between places right things change yeah instead we just went to an irish bar of course we had a few beers then my friend emma different emma loads of emmas uh was around the corner at a wine bar and while some of the guys that we were with were too wet and cold they thought we're just going to go home we said let's let's go to the wine bar have a couple of then it gets to about one well then we go should we just get back in there see what happens it's probably going to stop raining soon we go back it doesn't stop raining it's actually still pissing it down and so it's just hiding under one of the sort of like bridgy flyovers that cute that is and we just sort of waited it out until about 2 2 30 at which point all the stuff that was supposed to be going was just going and we like boogied on until six like you do on the most of the time and so it was a little bit of just like you gotta have the staying power you just gotta stick it out um adam was good he because he was basically saying it's gonna go until like we were intending to be awake until fall at least.

8:57Why not see if we can?

9:00Kim Petras:We're wet already. And we had a boogie. You're in festival mode. That's what it's all about. And then the best part is you don't have to climb into a tent at night and shiver yourself to sleep. We just went back to a hotel. You have an hour. Where were you boogieing? We saw Fuckers, which was... Oh, on the Thursday night? Yeah. Where? I can't name all the stages. like in a oh what it was the stages opened back up yeah yeah it was only the main stages I'm pretty sure that didn't open back up at all but every other venue did when did it open back up it never closed really like if you didn't it was just the main stage the main stages just stopped playing stuff and then there was the other stage the occidental or whatever the fuck it was called that stage closed for a little bit and then that opened back up and someone else played I don't remember did it feel like it was um did it feel like a shock did it feel like the weather was bad enough that it was like oh the weather actually was meant yeah it was raining sideways yeah it was properly raining sideways but as you say it's like festival mode you just get into it and then nothing us brits can't handle yeah yeah exactly and then you just feel like proud of it you know like you made it like the next day like me and Adam were like swagging around like oh you guys didn't see fuckers oh yeah that was amazing couldn't name you a song but but we made it yeah okay and then finally before Sue entered the picture did you see blood orange and or geese yes did see blood orange sort of it was the first thing i saw when we got there so i was still sort of like floating to the bar catching up with a friend so i can't say i was locked in on right right it was a peripheral one he they did sound very nice okay uh and then did see geese geese had a funny one because uh camera winter played at this like indoor stage at right at the start of the day and like the max cap no one could get in kind of thing uh people were very excited about it it's good i think it was a bit of like a mood dampener just because of the weather but like it wasn't that bad at that point um i just i need a little bit more like upbeat energy and a boogie and also slightly know the music i'm not a geese that's okay i'm not a goose i feel like someone is is desperate someone is desperately waiting to speak no no i'm not very happy so sue i think

11:21Joe Weller:you coming back yeah I'll be right so I think

11:24Kim Petras:coming off her show for Dr. Martens

11:28Joe Weller:played a Dr. Martens show thank you to the people that came to that that was so fun thanks everyone did a show there which is fam and then oh yeah this is also a bit of fun bit of fun bit of fun this is a big yeah big up so after Dr. Martens I got home at like 12am woke up at 3am to get to the airport with Lauren Lyle we get there we're waiting for our flight I check find my friends Bill's still at the festival it's 7am so I was like okay Bill's still out so I was like I was like text me the room are you angry no not at this point are you sure no no it comes so then I'm like babe just like text me where text me the room number whatever we arrive it's thing Bill sends me Bill reads my text when I arrive at Brim Rivera like coming now just reads it not whatever whatever and then he sends me a selfie like when I'm 10 minutes away and it's him and Adam's still in bed.

12:18Joe Weller:So I get to the hotel, check in, whatever. I go upstairs.

12:21Kim Petras:Adam isn't staying at our hotel. Yeah, Adam's not meant to be at our hotel.

12:25Joe Weller:So Adam's still asleep and I get there and I'm like, hi. Hi, darling. Hi. So I wake Adam up. Adam is apologising and leaves. I'm like, no worry. The minute the door closes, I'm like, don't ever do that to me again. I would never do that to you. And I was like, I'm so sorry. I'm absolutely furious. You can never have fun without me. And I was like, you can have fun, but bitch, stand up. Set an alarm. It's the first time I've seen you in three weeks. Right, get out.

12:54Kim Petras:We're going to get a coffee right now. And I'm like, of course, of course, we're going to get a coffee. And he's so hungover. And then, fast forward to the next morning, Sue's like, worse for wear. And she's like, yeah, you fucking prick. I'm quite sorry. How many minutes of sleep did you get? This episode is brought to you by Google Chrome. You think you know a browser, but Gemini and Chrome? That's new. It can help you with practically anything on the web, like restoring a vintage motorcycle from a 50-page restoration block, or finally break down that long article you've had open for weeks. 13:40Joe Weller:This summer, serve up the cookout classics. craft mayo and dressing. Toss green salads with delicious ranch dressing or zesty Italian.

13:48Kim Petras:Serve smooth, craveably creamy potato salads with mayo. We all know it's not a cookout without craft. I think every night was about four hours. Oh, you got four hours this morning that you're talking about now? Yeah. I got in at seven and she arrived at the 11.30, 12. Okay. Fantastic.

14:10Joe Weller:Yeah. Dreamy.

14:11Kim Petras:Yeah.

14:11Joe Weller:I think I don't want to like bore with any more Prima chat though I had a lovely time and also met so many thinkers And also Straight Diva fans I want to shout out But I just want to say who was the best people there Okay

14:22Kim Petras:Right Can I just impartially say that yeah All the Straight Diva listeners are really kind And like really normal And really smelly Not to like yeah no stink but it's festival No not to do a little bit of like braggy name dropping but we were with a few, you know, notable public figure-y folks. You with Idris Elba, Dominic West. Exactly. Ray Winston. Yeah. And their fans are crazy and talk to them in a kind of just like, you're blah, blah. Or like, are you? Whereas like people come up to Sue and just go like, Sue, how are you? Like, how's your festival? Like, do you mind if we get a photo? Blah, blah.

15:01Kim Petras:I don't know. They were all just very kind. And every so often we would be like, Bill.

15:05Joe Weller:Yeah.

15:06Kim Petras:Which is fun because it's just.

15:07Joe Weller:We actually got a message on our thingy saying... Where is it? It was cool. Thank you. I do that a lot. I've never heard you do that. It said... Oh, my God, where is it? Like a little fucking parakeet. Like a bastard parakeet. It said something about Bill.

15:23Kim Petras:Something about Bill's amazing. Love Bill, blah, blah, blah. But thank you.

15:26Joe Weller:No, spotted Bill on Thursday at Prima and had to hold back from screaming Bill so bad.

15:31Kim Petras:It's so nice. Yeah, they're all really... Why do you guys think that people are nicer to us? Do you think it's that we're not famous?

15:37Joe Weller:Actually, we were having this discussion. No, we were having this discussion with Maisie. Because let's be real, we're Maisie. Is that okay to say? I'll cut it out. Love you, Maisie. But we're Maisie. And I think because people don't, people see her. We were talking about how people know us for us. Whereas they know them for perhaps seeing them in Game of Thrones or whatever. Or any other film or whatever. So they're approaching her being like, you're Arya. You're from Game of Thrones. so it's almost as if they're not like a person who would have their own like boundary etc i mean everyone was relatively nice to maizey right in my opinion but she's had to have has had to learn

16:19Kim Petras:to like be a bit more boundaried with uh fans and people in public because they don't they don't ask after like after maizey maizey they ask after like the the character yeah aria stark and things like that um and so Maisie was being very sweet and like uh giving Sue some advice on like setting up those boundaries but actually I don't think it's as necessary because people know you guys as right who you actually are there's a bit of like a performance and but it's not like a character that you guys put on no this is completely 100 authentic but yeah I suppose it is you guys say

16:56Joe Weller:you're not doing that but also it was at a master class watching Maisie handle things and like say know to photos like she'd say it so kindly and be so kind to people like it was literally like

17:06Kim Petras:yeah i think she's amazing anyway she's unattainably famous almost it's like that yeah people forget she's a real person whereas us because we're doing a podcast and we're being silly we're more relatable yeah mate yeah or people see more of us as just being a normal

17:23Joe Weller:yeah yeah exactly so it was it was lovely and meeting loads of people but people at prima these are my top four right top four the best person at prima in my opinion other than like i'm not counting livi rodrigo here because it was surprise set she brought out um robert smith who can i just say i said this on my story no one was liking it i was like this actually really funny robert smith is a seedy sissy comes up frazzled hair and lipstick and i think i'm like that he she i've seen robert smith look like that in manchester and call herself donna for the on canal street yeah on canal street my name is donna i'm donna my wife's at home robert smith is cdc obviously you're a respectable one and amazing at your job love you robert smith but that was amazing it's great so number one and actually i'm going to apologize to the site it's not sure you'll ever see it but the fact that like i wasn't knowing of your game amore is the biggest rock star like i couldn't believe it Like, I actually think Amore is about to have like, and pardon me if she already has, but like Amore, I think he's going to have like a bratty.

18:29Joe Weller:Like that set was like genuinely, like, oh, it was amazing. I haven't seen any videos of it. She's a fucking rock star. Do you know, Bill was saying that like, she's one of those artists that like, she just stands there and looks at the crowd. It's so fucking hot. Sorry, I just feel like,

18:44Kim Petras:I feel like I'm eavesdropping now.

18:45Joe Weller:I shouldn't be here.

18:46Kim Petras:Because we're getting to your favorite four as well, okay? Okay.

18:50Joe Weller:And then.

18:50Kim Petras:You're doing great.

18:51Joe Weller:And then someone who also surprised me was Call Super. We ended up at Call Super, which really impresses Louis, because Louis loves Call Super. And I remember, and when I went on his Instagram, I was like, I've seen his Instagram before. Louis spoke by him.

19:02Kim Petras:We have to be honest. We saw the last, like, five, ten minutes. But it was amazing. The way he, they, she, I don't know. He can't keep up with the kids these days. But the way he closed the set was incredible.

19:15Joe Weller:He was, like, sentimental as far.

19:17Kim Petras:It wasn't even, like, people dancing by the end. And everyone was just like looking and watching and I was like, oh my God. Yeah, the song you sent me sounded very emotional and weird.

19:26Joe Weller:And then we saw Dijon, which was a really nice vibe. We saw Dijon sat down because XX were on when Dijon was on. So like the stage wasn't very full. Dang, dang, dang, dang. But he did this like screaming singing at the end. And I was like, one, how is his voice still alive? Because it was amazing. And then I loved Marina. I'll always love Marina. It was like a walk down memory lane.

19:46Kim Petras:What kind of stage does Marina play at Primavera?

19:49Joe Weller:The one that Olivia Rodrigo played. She was on after Olivia Rodrigo. Marina's huge. And it was full. What? Marina's so famous.

19:57Kim Petras:It was full, but it was a little bit more spread out because it was the slightly older gays that just had a little bit more respect for everyone's personal place, whereas Olly Robb was like... Wait, not to interrupt your Fab Fours, but okay, how many... What's the proportion of gays and what's the proportion of Spanish people?

20:12Joe Weller:It's basically all gays. And then Spanish people too, but it is mostly... Also, some Spanish people can be gay as well. So it's like... And that's okay. It's a Venn diagram. Yeah. And then... And then who was my... That's it. You don't know. No, there was one more person I wanted to... Sorry, so Cool Soup is in the top four.

20:30Kim Petras:Yeah. From 10 minutes. Yeah.

20:32Joe Weller:It was amazing. And then finally, I just want to shout out... So happy. Because it sounded like a straight person. Peggy Goose sending it at the end was fierce. I'm so sorry. It was amazing. Until she played her own song at the end. And she was like, do you want a new one? And then the mix and master... It was quieter than the rest of the set. Oh, really? and everyone was just kind of like energy clothes with something else which was great

20:51Kim Petras:anywho bills go um my tops were ollie rod i mean she's amazing she'll always be ollie rod to me was she build was she was she no surprise that ollie rod came uh there's a really funny moment i don't know well you were there but i don't know if you've seen it on tick tock of like um yeah the arsenal fan and the crowd and it like pans over and she's on someone's shoulders like yeah and she goes and kisses her badge and everyone's like boo like halfway through a really lovely Olivia Rodrigo song she must have been like what did I just do what was the uh what was the highlight of her set was it the Robert Smith song uh The Cure The Cure was amazing really yeah Cure is a really wonderful song and I think is better live than it is in the recorded version Olly Rod for me number one uh Pink Pantheress so good so amazing the Cooper stage for anyone that does or does not know primavera is like the best is for so therefore for everyone it's the best stage it's like an amphitheater so you can like stand up on the steps or you can be down in like the pit um so and it's closed as well yeah it's so good and so even if there's an artist that you like kind of like amara for example we didn't really know but we just went oh it's at the cooper so it will probably be good and she yeah she smashed it um so yeah ollie rod pink panthras um trying to think of something cool but then i'll only give three then because then my third was at the same venue that camera winter did his weird like indoors set was uh beverly glenn copeland and okay uh if you don't know beverly glenn copeland he is an 82 year old trans man who has been singing forever and ever and has written some very beautiful songs and is now with his wife of like 40 years and they have just released some music but it's there's something very sweet and quaint and like at one point they're almost doing like a nursery rhyme together and it's a bit like booby dubby um but uh he did his opening song uh anyway it's really lovely i don't know the name of it the moment he opened his mouth i was just like sobbing right oh my god it's the most beautiful thing i've ever seen and they were so sweet and then they brought out the rainbow choir of barcelona who were dreadful best and sorry guys but you could tell that you didn't get your yeah we haven't rehearsed with these guys like yeah you didn't wait and was it a nice like um was it nice having some age difference at a very uh youthful primavera

23:32Joe Weller:festival yeah and also it was good because i mean we missed big thief reminded you of your own mortality we agreed that it'd be better see beverly uh glenn copeland because they're 82 no offense to 82 year olds but like how long yeah we got left and big thief i'll see you again some

23:47Kim Petras:point well but they don't they hear that much but like adrian will be back yeah fair and you're more

23:53Joe Weller:of an adrian yeah like that's what that's literally what i said i was like i will i would

23:59Kim Petras:like to talk about ethel kane's set because i've seen a lot of like semi-disappointed discourse online about like it just being a bit flat or not really a video of her doing uh nettles and her voice sounded insane there it was a little bit of the main stages at prima aren't great sound quality wise it's one of them ones where like if you're in front of the relay but not but in front of the stage yeah it's it's not that strong right um a lot of her stuff is very mellow and slow and i think people who aren't familiar with her music myself included right it's quite tricky to really get involved but being there yeah no it is that but then being there with um maizey and sue who both love ethel kane it was nice to like see an appreciation of that set and it was great and she's very talented yeah but yeah i haven't seen many people loving up on ethel okay damn so there

24:56Joe Weller:um oh and addison oh addison with the glittery belly wow that's amazing it was that it was amazing

25:06Kim Petras:but um okay wait one question on addison how does she she is she a good life she's amazing

25:12Joe Weller:she's very new to this job she does a very like she does it like a very like britney thing in the middle where she stops singing and dances but then everyone's like she's not singing i'm like yeah could you fucking do four backflips and sing no like she's like throwing herself about her

25:24Kim Petras:dance they're amazing has she got backing track with uh with a lot of it but like she does sing

25:29Joe Weller:like she does really sing um and then when she come out on stage like jumped to the crowd i was like she what's really nice about addison is like she loves it right and that was like nice to watch is like she fucking loves performing like it was so good and there was just lots of like like giggling with the crowd because she's just like i'm eating do you know what i mean it was It's your first Primavera? My first Primavera. And I will be going back every year for the rest of my life. Really? Yeah. Okay. Everyone was talking about it at the end because Glastonbury's back next year, Primavera or Glastonbury.

25:59Joe Weller:And like, I just think Primavera is, I've not been Glastonbury. I've never done it. But I can't come. Now I've done Primavera, I'm not coming.

26:05Kim Petras:I like a bath and a shower and a bed. I don't need to come. Is Barcelona like sort of, is it mental? Is it like? No, no. Because most people are out until 5, 6, 7 a.m. And then they go back to the hotel. And so then if you're able to get up at 11, 12, you can have your version of a morning in Barcelona without all the ruckus of a festival. And then most people don't head to the actual festival until like 8 p.m. anyway. So then you get a whole day sort of recovering on the beach. Right. Your Primavera crowd are nocturnal a bit, so they don't really, okay.

26:43Joe Weller:can i start can we segue this little prima thing because we came up with this well we didn't come up with it can we do the euphonosia game would you mind yeah no go ahead right vic um is a friend and was at primavera with us shout out vic also shout out vic's uh situationship that listens straight deeper love you girl um and they came up with this thing whilst you're at dinner and she messaged us about it yesterday saying that we should do it on the pod but i don't know how to explain it what is something that if you did you knew that it was a time for your friends to shoot you ahead and end your life so for example one of our friends said if you find me with a deck chair at glastonbury with a fold-up chair come up behind me and shoot me in the head yeah at main stage

27:26Kim Petras:sophie oh my god uh i feel like yeah it's we haven't truly nailed the description of this game but it's like the yeah the thing if you no longer display a certain personality it's like oh we've lost them like it's curtains it's time for yeah take them out back a crucial crux of your identity yeah and if you're no longer doing that then who are you yeah it's time to get rid yeah so with you it's putting jewels on t-shirts oh yeah stop doing if i stop making t-shirts i kiss bill at Instagram please everyone. Or if you stop collecting vintage football shirts. Yeah, to be honest I don't know what my sort of like, that's a classic me and I always do that thing.

28:10Kim Petras:I suppose it's like, yeah, being anal about the garden and about my kitchen. Right. If I stop, if I start being flobby about my garden. Right, if weed start popping up. Shoot me in the head. But that's less fun. Vic's version was she was at a gig last night and she took her phone out to film and the flash was on and she's like i'm usually the sort of person that i wouldn't do that and she said by the third time if i've got the flash out the third time i've got the flash out at a gig shoot me in the fucking i think that i think i find that humanizing when you pull out flash it's like reminds you you're alive yeah yeah especially the place where you can't have flash

28:46Joe Weller:and you're not meant to be filming it's nice also i would like everyone to comment there's that version of you for nations so mine is if i ever stop gossiping shoot me in the head if i'm ever like in a situation and i'm just kind of like come on now guys shoot me in the head there's always time for gossip and then you just say love them though gossip what is what makes the world go round gossip is what makes the world go around it makes us feel alive what's yours oh it's just reinforcing yours all right sorry no no um mine

29:15Kim Petras:is um yeah i think repeating what someone says in a stupider version of their own voice is basically, my dad used to always say sarcasm is the lowest form of way. I actually think that's wrong. I think it's repeating. It's what I do. It's repeating what people say just to mock them.

29:34Joe Weller:If Louis stops making fun of posh girls on the internet, shoot him in the head.

29:38Kim Petras:That's Louis. Yeah. Well, yeah, if we stop being just cynical assholes and moaning online, shoot us in the head. If I ever stop talking about fisting, shoot me in the head. Yeah, if you ever stop being, sexually graphic. Shoot me in the head. That is Sue's one, yeah. She stops making sexually inappropriate jokes. Something's gone wrong. Maybe it's easier to do for other people.

30:03Joe Weller:Sophie's is if she just doesn't come and sit on someone at the pod in itself.

31:07Kim Petras:If nothing. If you stop sort of getting passive-aggressive about the cleanliness of the house. Yeah, exactly. How's this for a segue? if I stop being childishly obsessed with football. So.

31:20Joe Weller:God, we're segueing today.

31:24Kim Petras:So, got back from Barcelona last night, went to M &S because we thought. I was going to say, these are from M &S. Yes, we went to M &S because we thought, what an easy way to get a good healthy meal. Nice. And when we were at self-checkout, it suddenly goes, click this button if you want three free packs of football stickers. and as I said you would have to euthanize me if I didn't say yes so I clicked the button and then suddenly like the red light flashed and it's like wait for the attendance and we're like stood there and she comes over and I'm like I'm really sorry I just got really excited about the football with three bottles of wine by the way and then and then she's like oh my god yeah goes over to the box all the football cards and just like grabs a fucking load of them you're supposed to only have three but look at this Jesus Bill for the listeners and not the viewers it's like nice thing we don't have to do them all because it might take a while and it's heavily visual let me in we're gonna open some panini stickers for for listeners right now oh yay she's got a shiny sue's got a shiny who'd you go i got saka bakaya saka that's an all that saka o'reilly oh

32:31Joe Weller:serena viegman so it's the women's as well oh my god i got saka that's so fun i got a picture of

32:37Kim Petras:sacker i got alessia russo shiny russo uh not playing in this world cup so don't know i've got an amazing one carry on i got adam wharton who's not made the squad good player and i got morgan rogers who we like i like yeah i like morgan rogers i've got a shiny ian wright oh my god that's the best that's the best one how have m and s got the right who else you got thomas Thomas Tuchel Tommy Tactics I couldn't even tell you that is Thomas Tuchel's best mate that's yeah that's some of the

33:10Joe Weller:for people that don't know football Ian Wright's the one from the advert he's the one he's the one who went

33:16Kim Petras:I thought you were dead and he's fit as fuck to be fair Mr Pigden oh for the lesbians I have your biggest crush Lucy Bronze lovely arms Lucy Bronze's arms Jess Carter Nonny Madueke and the girls just the girls just the girls I got Lauren James We love Lauren Not shiny Lauren though It's a shame There should have been a shiny

33:38Joe Weller:There's a shiny in each pack

33:39Kim Petras:There's a shiny in each pack Did you collect stickers as a Oh it's a shiny Mark Gahey

33:46Joe Weller:I've got a shiny Bellingham Yay That's a nice Anthony Gordon just moved to Barcelona

33:54Kim Petras:Best of luck to him Cole Palmer as well Didn't make the World Cup Sorry Cole

34:00Joe Weller:Come here, so. You'll be in Bill's way.

34:03Kim Petras:And I got Phil Foden as well. Oh, didn't make the World Cup. Timmy Tactics.

34:10Kim Petras:Jude Bellingham.

34:11Joe Weller:Shiny is quite sick.

34:14Kim Petras:My favourite. I got Deck. Shiny Deck. Oh, my God. Wow. West Ham boy. Eberichie has it. And Jared Bowen didn't make it to the World Cup. But I got Jared Bowen, who's a West Ham player. How exciting. And then just some of the boys. Just some of the boys. Oh, look at them. That's a lovely photo. I don't know who that is in the middle. I don't know who that is in the middle. Is that a new concert? No, it's Trevor Chalabar. Trevor Chalabar? How's everyone feeling about the World Cup, guys?

34:38Joe Weller:We're going to be talking about it. I got invited to my first PR event for the World Cup.

34:43Kim Petras:Yeah? Yeah. It's always nice when brands just sort of out of nowhere become fans of football for the World Cup. We've always loved football. Well, it's basically like a straight version of Pride Month. Yeah. We've always loved gays. Yeah. Our logo's always been a rainbow. I don't know what you... Yeah, no. Yeah, forget about the sports washing thing. Let's just all get in the spirit. Let's get in the spirit. Let's get behind them, guys. Who does... If Jude Bellingham was a performance at Primavera, who would he have been? Hmm... The young, sexy star boy whose position is at risk. Maybe Addison Rae.

35:27Kim Petras:Wow. Yeah.

35:28Joe Weller:I was going to say Ashniko, but...

35:31Kim Petras:Anyway, I'm going to leave you guys because I feel like it's becoming straight divas.

35:36Joe Weller:Oh, yeah. Too many straight divas.

35:39Kim Petras:I don't know why I am. You're a bridge. I don't label myself. You're a bridge, okay?

35:43Joe Weller:Yeah. There was a building there. You can... We need to talk about that as well. Detour. But first... Wow. But first, I would like to talk about God Save the King football, right?

35:55Kim Petras:Yeah.

35:56Joe Weller:God I'm not losing you You want to talk about God? I want to talk about specifically Oh What's his face again? Joe Weller Joe Weller And his mystical turn to Christianity Mystical And also the concept of Oh! What did you get? Harry Kane! Yay shiny Harry Kane! Shiny Harry Kane! Fucking left him in the park How you do that?

36:21Kim Petras:Come on Harry Come on Harry

36:24Joe Weller:I want to talk about men turning to Jesus Christ and then preaching it as if it's anyone else's business. Wow. Here we go. Because what has Joe Weller done? What has Joe Weller done wrong? That brings us onto the segment. Let's all play guessing games what Joe Weller's done. I think he's done something bad. You don't publicly turn to Christ this hard. The last person to do this was Russell Brand. So one can only imagine. That's a good point. And what is with that? I think he might just be a bit... if anyone's religious and actually knows the psychology of it like religious psychosis etc can someone comment below because i'm all for girlies finding god do not get me wrong i'm spiritualist as they come but the fact of like getting online and being so it's a man no yeah the fact it's a man no but the fact it was someone who was like a boxer someone's so like cloudy and like faming whatever like how you so like turn to god as if that's something that would ever move you and like i don't know there'll be a christian watching this like you just don't get it and like maybe i don't but like i think men's turned religion like russell band trying to find that chapter for pierce morgan have you seen that clip that is good i hate pierce morgan with a passion but watching pierce morgan watch russell brand try and find pierce morgan is very

37:39Kim Petras:artfully positioned himself pierce morgan's a prick because sometimes he does gag the girls in a good way like it's in the last couple of years he's been like but i still can't get on his like

37:49Joe Weller:I couldn't sit with that man.

37:53Kim Petras:I would argue that as someone who's known the work of Joella since I was a wee lad.

38:00Joe Weller:Yeah, that's what I mean.

38:01Kim Petras:That he's always been a bit mad.

38:07Joe Weller:Like, I think it still could be rage bait.

38:10Kim Petras:I don't think it is. I don't think it is either. Those tears were real. Those tears were real. That's psychosis. I don't think he's necessarily Done something terrible I think he's just

38:24Joe Weller:I don't know though because I do believe He is one of the good ones So that's the thing that's like threw me off Because I'm like if anything Joe Weller Was always someone that kind of like edged On the side of normal In a way And so this is why this gags me but I think we're going to see A lot more of it

38:41Kim Petras:Well Joe Weller's turned to Christianity KSI's left the sidemen

38:44Joe Weller:Yeah and then he's boasting to Alhan that he has more views in the sidemen and then alhan and poet are beefing which is crazy huge time for straight culture world cups around the corner yeah alhan's beefing poet um joella turning to christ so you

39:02Kim Petras:immediately think when someone turns to or is it in the way in which she's turned i think they're

39:09Joe Weller:turning away and then crying on a camera i'm all for finding god girls but i think crying on a camera and posting it i'm like you're not well you're not well there yeah because like no matter how much you love that thing like if someone loved olivia rodrigo that much i think we'd all be like come on now girl like i feel like when it's about god and religion i feel like people are so allowed to be absolutely insane like and i'm sorry i'm gonna gag everyone out but catching

39:35Kim Petras:the holy spirit what did you say just in general like when people catch the holy spirit and they're

39:41Joe Weller:all up on the floor, like throwing it back. Like, yeah. And then everyone's on the floor catching the Holy Spirit. Like imagine someone did that in an Addison Rae concert. Everyone would have to stop the show and pick them up from fainting.

39:52Kim Petras:I caught a couple Holy Spirits last night.

39:59Kim Petras:Yeah, Joe Willer, my favorite bit was when he said,

40:08Kim Petras:ask him to reveal yourself. no ask him to reveal himself to you and you will come can you reveal yourself he will pass can you please reveal yourself

40:25Joe Weller:oh lord oh reveal yourself I'm gonna come reveal yourself oh honey me when I untuck I reveal myself Oh, reveal myself. Hello. But yeah, I am. I mean, good for the girls.

40:48Kim Petras:I feel like it's been a while since we had someone. It happened.

40:50Joe Weller:Lohantony went. Really? The little gay boy that did the Born This Way dance. He's now major Christian. That trans girl, that famous trans girl, who always used to do takedowns of celebrities. She's now said that she went to camp and now she's just like a boy and is found like Jesus. I think we're about to see a lot of it, babe. I think people just want to be safe So they're going to start backing away Just as much as I said the rise She don't want to be safe She don't want, don't save her Just as much as we're seeing the rise of seedy sissies We're going to see the rise of Christianity etc For safety

41:23Kim Petras:Do you think it could ever happen to you? No

41:25Joe Weller:If it happens to me that's when you shoot me in the head That's a euphemiser Really? Because I'm already spiritualist Like I've been brought up spiritualist But I don't sit downstairs When I get an angel card and start like Oh please reveal yourself Stop coming like it like come on like i i'm all for having beliefs like actually and factually and you should feel the way you feel and you should be able to cry and feel god and whatever and feel feelings but like filming getting online yeah and then like i think feeling the need to explain to other people that they need to find their way to that is i think unfair because you'll find i can tell you all the time about how good angel cards are for me but if you're vulnerable and like you'll then like especially with like ocd people rumination ocd if you have that with angel cards they can like ruin your life and like seeing things like like magpies and stuff for people with ocd like really fucks them up because they see it all the time and then they live the life by it and it decides whether they're gonna have a good day whereas i i don't do that so you're comparing

42:21Kim Petras:christianity to seeing like one magpie yeah right it's the same thing okay and it's when my favorite thing though it only happens with religion is when they're like it's so real prove it it is crazy i

42:35Joe Weller:I feel like the fact that they're allowed to say it's real and everyone just has to be like, yeah. Like, that's not, in a sense that, do you know what I mean? And I'm religious. Right. Do you know what I mean? But I would never come up to you and be like, but this is real. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's fucked. This is the most real. You're not going to get it. Because I can't prove to you.

42:51Kim Petras:No, it is weird how certain arms of Christianity But we just all have to just be like, yeah, that's fine. Yeah. But you've never felt the Lord's cock in your ass, so. No. And neither have I. so I couldn't possibly understand the way that Joe Weller is feeling when he's this over because that's the weirdest part it's not just because obviously they think it's real it's how overwhelmed with emotion and I believe it I don't feel like he's

43:24Joe Weller:I think the overwhelming the crying the tears like the overwhelming how it's taken over everything like there was even an interview in the street asked him a few questions like three of his favourite people and he says God is his first one. I'm like, oh, this is like, you can't even say you're like your brother anymore. Like you have to say like, God, I think this is where it's kind of like this giving psychosis in my opinion. Because could you imagine if someone was like, who are your favorite people? And I'd say my animal cards, my spirit animal cards. Sue's cooked, man. Do you know what I mean?

43:53Joe Weller:Yeah. I just in a certain religions in which like, we're like, you're, we're all meant to just like, just go along with people's bullshit. I think when you get - it's fine if you believe it. If you don't believe it, that's also fine. But like, when I feel like you're putting it on people. It's just another, it's just another op in the ground from KSI, man. Once you get, once you get stopped by KSI in a, in a boxing fight, like. That video of Alhan gagging out KSI being like, those songs are shit. Where he said that King song. And KSI is still trying to defend himself. And Alhan's like, they're shit.

44:27Joe Weller:How does Alhan not get shit for being such a horrible bastard? He does. I'm on that. I just found myself on that side of TikTok. Oh really? Yeah people are getting Elhan on my side of TikTok

44:35Kim Petras:Because he's always been nasty Yeah And hilarious

44:37Joe Weller:My favourite is Julie Skepta's sister Adenuga Yeah She is a fucking legend And when she was just like I don't like you Like it's so good And he's like Why don't you like me? She's like I just don't like you Like it's so good I just think that's amazing

44:55Kim Petras:Well The Straight Deaver podcast Sends you well wishes Well wishes I would actually love to invite you on

45:02Joe Weller:Yeah But if he came on And started trying to Indoctrinate people That's when Because also We have young listeners That would be us Like trying to like

45:11Kim Petras:And if we have any Christians listening Yeah

45:13Joe Weller:Reveal yourself Yeah

45:15Kim Petras:Reveal yourself We'd love to hear How the fuck you got here

45:18Joe Weller:Yeah Because we love you We love you And you're You are valid It's just like I don't know I just No no no I hear you Coming online Because I just think If you came online Loving the Olivia Rodrigo record So much You're crying Yeah And saying like Olivia you're saying My life crying everyone would be like one is this a bit and two like are you okay and you were being serious like we'd step in like I think we'd step in and then someone's now gonna say to me like oh but he's otherworldly you don't get it I'm like trust I get it

45:46Kim Petras:even if it is otherworldly and it's sort of overwhelming it's but you can't explain it

45:49Joe Weller:so it's almost even worse

45:50Kim Petras:it's filming that bit yeah and using that as the sort of mess the communication yeah to like to let people know that you found it but maybe he just maybe he just can't fucking control maybe he's literally just bussing bussing

46:02Joe Weller:reveal yourself, T's.

47:11Joe Weller:kim petrus detour uh that was a building there and it was brutalist

47:20Kim Petras:i didn't clock that that was a reference until last night oh right when i re-listened to the

47:25Joe Weller:album um why don't you start us off this is the best album since brat and it's her debut album is it no but it's like the whole kim petrish thing every time she released and i'll just call it a debut album and it's i'll become like this joke so as someone that only knows

47:44Kim Petras:kim petrish through is it unlock it remix no the regular the regular one yeah um i only listen to this album because you have been so vocal about it so good are you a kim petrus fan

48:01Joe Weller:previously yeah so i've been kim petrus fan since like back in the day i don't want it all like first singles yeah so i was i actually didn't know she was trans for ages so i was like a fan of her for ages um and then i got into her uni and then i think i've seen her a few times um and i love her and obviously she's been trapped in this label deal. And then basically she comes out with this project, but they're not letting her release it. She releases a song, Pop Sound, which isn't on the album, but it's on SoundCloud, which we've been through with Satzah Miss. Very amazing song. And so everything she's been teasing has been fab.

48:34Joe Weller:I think she's found her flow and I was watching her fade interview. I don't know if you watched it, but basically she showed it her label. She basically made three albums, one with Porches, which was like grungy. So the producers on it anyway, the best. we've got Margot XS which is just like fierce as fuck diva we've got their first children which are fierce as fuck divas and we have portraits fierce as fuck diva so three amazing kind of like very different artists but they've all come together to make this project but it wasn't meant like it was about from what I took from it it was three different projects she made a grunge album a like a EDM album another album with these producers and then put them all together she took to a label and was like this is my cohesive project yeah they were all like yeah it's okay he's amazing we're not going to release it and then she like spoke a lot about like when she did Feed the Beast it was like her just being told by the label that like even with her album after Feed the Beast they said that she couldn't have that like the French album and release it and it just kind of spoke about like Unholy and how like she has a Grammy and then like things just got worse after she got the Grammy which is so often what the opposite because you feel like once you have the hit you know you get better.

49:38Joe Weller:What did she get a Grammy for? Unholy okay with her and Sam Smith okay so they got the Grammy for that so she's like grammy winning artists like she's massive and then like yeah so she started releasing this and just like doing nothing herself and the label never paid for anything like she was paying producer fees she was paying like for sessions she was paying for everything and she made this project and like she started posting on soundcloud because she was like well drop me then and they finally dropped her and she releases this album i just think it's phenomenal this is the best electronic album since brat i think slater comes close like electronic dance music i think slater comes close um and i really enjoy that and i'm still making my way through it but I think start to finish this is such a cohesive project.

50:14Joe Weller:I think it's the first time she's really ever spoken about, like, trans issues in a song, like, specifically, like, Brutalist, which is great to hear, but also, like, it's also still a really good pop song, not just, like, something insane as she feels. And then the production's crazy, like, that bit in One of One, where it starts reloading. It's reloading, where it's like... I'm like, this is crazy. Like, it's so good.

50:35Kim Petras:Yeah, I was getting... It was taking me back to being sort of in year seven and listening to 303. Yeah. Yeah. Kesha.

50:45Joe Weller:Like she's done it perfectly.

50:47Kim Petras:Yeah. My initial thought was like when I was maybe three tracks and I was like, this is amazing, but it is quite close to Charlie for me. Really? And then the thing that like made me stop thinking that and separated it was, I thought the production was more like EDME,

51:13Joe Weller:as you say, but in a fun way. It's more David Guetta really than like Charlie, in my opinion. I think Charlie was like taking us to the club hard and heavy and like underground, whereas I think these lot are like taking Kim, taking like these producers and using Kim as a way to do like the most, like I feel like it represents like, it's more like Swedish Housemar, like a remix of Swedish Housemar, David Guetta and all that lot. but fun huge and that is like my crack cocaine i think that that music is what i grew up on i like loved kasha growing up and so i just love it it's just huge i think it's amazing but it's

51:46Kim Petras:interesting because it's not very cool uh maybe it's starting to become cool again like uh edm and sort of like with like frost children or like underscores or like yeah or like breakance even or Skrillex but I'd still say that EDM isn't that

52:07Joe Weller:it's coming back though

52:10Kim Petras:but it was that it was the production being sort of in that lane and being really really good I always thought the Frost Children were kind of just I haven't really given them the time they are so talented

52:24Joe Weller:they did that like indie album I think one of their first albums they are so talented

52:28Kim Petras:I haven't really listened to them because I was just, I guess I sort of put them in an indie sleaze, for lack of a better word, box that I was just like, eh, not for me. Yeah. But production is amazing. And then also the thing that separated it from sounding too close to Charlie was the lyrics. I thought the lyrics were fucking good. They're stupid, but like in the best way.

52:53Joe Weller:They're so good. Bust me. Your boyfriend bust me. Your boyfriend bust a lot.

52:58Kim Petras:Your boyfriend bust a lot. Your boyfriend busts a lot What was the Drake lyric I liked? He laid pipe while putting on that Drake Oh, Sophie Sophie couldn't gap in

53:13Joe Weller:Jesus on the cross, bless him, bless him, bless him, bless him Are you joking? I really liked Korea As a little switch up So good Hands up, bitches, it's a robbery What's the second last song? You hoes love my image Love my image It's just a crazy EDM Basketball No, no, no, no

53:39Kim Petras:Kimmy

53:40Joe Weller:Yeah, I do think it is Kim Petrus come on the pod challenge Kim Petrus come on the pod challenge Kim Petrus, why is she not on the Charlie tour?

53:50Kim Petras:Obviously underscores

53:51Joe Weller:Because Kim's already had a Charlie moment On Lock It and then she had the Remix with Slater

53:58Kim Petras:underscores actually you could say the same for Slater

54:01Joe Weller:yeah I think yeah I'm excited for well that's America tour so it could be the UK and you it's weird that there's only one support usually when artists get that huge I think it's fierce I think that's a hot like also Charlie like I will support you like just I'm waiting for you just waiting for your dad's me don't worry we have not been hit up by yeah Charlie sex

54:19Kim Petras:but we're still waiting for you

54:21Joe Weller:that's alright I feel like we could be friends before I say it again

54:26Kim Petras:We live close to each other But yeah well done Kim Petrus On a great album If you guys haven't listened to it Go listen to it Although I imagine 95 % of you already have What else do we have to talk about It's pride month Oh my god happy pride Happy pride

54:47Joe Weller:Literally thinking of Love all the gays Thinking of all you fucking transsexuals out there And we love all the gays All the gays. Even the bears. Do we love all the gays? Yeah. Even the... What about the nasty ones? Not nasty gays. But we love all the... We love all the gays. Yeah, we love gays.

55:10Kim Petras:We love... Do we love the gays?

55:20Joe Weller:Probably not Philip Schofield.

55:26Kim Petras:No, we love all the gays.

55:27Joe Weller:Boss. We love Philip Schofield's vape. Happy pride to Philip Schofield's vape.

55:39Joe Weller:Happy pride to Philip Schofield. Yeah. Has anyone thought about that?

55:44Kim Petras:Yeah. Have you got any World Cup predictions?

55:47Joe Weller:Yeah, win.

55:49Kim Petras:Are you going to do some Vox Pop? Yeah, fucking win.

55:54Joe Weller:Come on, England. And score us a goal. Obviously, I will do it. And I'm really excited if you do ask me Foundation FM. But last year, I did struggle. Because I had no idea what was going on the whole weekend.

56:05Kim Petras:Do you want to do some agony aunts? Yeah. Oh, wait. I'm curious to see if you've seen anything of the basketball. Does the basketball traverse your feed? Really?

56:16Joe Weller:Yeah, really not. I'm sorry.

56:17Kim Petras:That's okay.

56:18Joe Weller:Other than the track Basketball by Kim Petters. Oh, hey, banger.

56:23Kim Petras:basically the New York Knicks are in the NBA it's the NBA finals time which is like the final game of the season to see who wins the whole thing NBA Knicks are in the finals for the first time in like 30 years, huge team but they've been shit for ages right and it's the most there was a game last night which is one of the best games I've ever watched in my life but the stars are out like it's amazing because like there are so many teams in the NBA that are like Minnesota or like San Antonio and there's just like it's amazing but like Oklahoma it's like New York Knicks are in the finals for the first time in like 30 years like the the star power court side Timmy Chalamet oh I have seen oh I have seen Josh Safdie Ben Stiller Spike Lee Kylie Jenner Sue I think Taylor Swift Sue I think it's just like it's like Madonna coming back and like getting all these stars to be in her videos just like oh shit this is like which we haven't spoke about yeah fuck we haven't spoken about madonna i'm still not fucking i'm still not moved by this music

57:29Joe Weller:it gives alternative bitch hamadonna music video can you remember that no where she pulled like everyone to be in a music video like beyonce was in it beyonce was in it lady gaga was in it nikki minaj was in it yeah this one is like okay so what if we go really left and get like all like the alt-left people who I all love.

57:46Kim Petras:Right.

57:48Joe Weller:And yeah, good for Madonna. Love Madonna.

57:52Kim Petras:Stop.

57:53Joe Weller:You're doing a thing. Love Madonna. You're doing a thing. She's a queen of pop. I will always think she's a queen of pop. Madonna come on the pod. But stop. Yeah.

58:01Kim Petras:No, I'm not going to say it.

58:03Joe Weller:I'm excited to hear the album. Yeah. I think I need to. Yeah. I think I need to get to the album. Madonna and Madonna's team scared me. You never know. Madonna's team could be watching. but Madonna.

58:15Kim Petras:But whether you like or dislike the music.

58:17Joe Weller:I wasn't gagging is what I'm going to say. I think it's so, I feel like this is really, I know I hate to say it, but I think she could have gone niche and I actually think it would have been cooler if she went and like had like Margot XS in a video and like underscores in a video. I think that would have been so much more niche and like fuck like up and coming people. Like you just went to like really quite famous alt musicians like who we all love, know and love, shout out shy girl, friend of the pod, love her. But like, it's obvious. I feel like the whole campaign's been really obvious and like really like, there's some fag behind it, but it's like a fag who goes to like Adonis and like it's, and like coming out in June, like I just think, yeah, someone's fumbling that bag.

59:01Joe Weller:Yeah. I'm really sorry. She should have gone alternative. It's too, like if you're going to go alternative, go like, I'm talking like. Donald Trump. Yeah. I'm talking like SoundCloud rapper. but like, you know, I'm talking like really niche, like, and not even niche, but like community people. Like you should have got T.S. Madison in the video.

59:21Kim Petras:Like you should have like got, no, honestly, yes.

59:24Joe Weller:Like I think it would have been more gaggy. Like I think she's gone too famous that the people she's got in the video are too famous for it to be like really cool. Like you've got a bunch of really successful musicians in the video, but you've already done Bitch and Madonna, which was like, which I loved by the way, safely production, we love. But that was like Beyonce and stuff. so you can't really ask Beyonce again. So for production,

59:45Kim Petras:which we love.

59:45Joe Weller:Yeah, so we love. And we also love Madonna, but like, yeah, something's missing. I'm sorry. And I think I am just holding, I was listening to Confessions 1 on the way home. And it is like fucking amazing. Like Isaac, I was listening to Isaac as the plane landed. It was so amazing. Like she's so amazing. How are you with planes? Planeland. Love it easy. I'm actually bored of being on planes at the minute. I feel like I've been on loads of planes this year. Oh. I know. which is really for first world. Oh, guys, Sue's born of being on planes. Sorry, sorry, everyone. But yeah, so I, yeah, it's a bit obvious.

1:00:23Joe Weller:Yeah, but it is. But maybe I just need to sit back and enjoy. But like, I just think it's like, everyone was like, look at all of the people. This person, Honey Dijon in the video, I'm like, obviously. Like, okay, like, work. You got the most successful, like one of the most successful trans women. I think it would have been like in the industry, specifically for dance music for dance music you got the most successful trans woman in your video like i don't know like i said i just think it's so obvious but and you know i'm waiting for the

1:00:51Kim Petras:album i might be gagged i agree with you but it's still cool that it's still amazing at 67 yeah she's amazing she she has this star power and it's sort of like when when madonna returns yeah people she's the best ever

1:01:05Joe Weller:like that's all to say

1:01:07Kim Petras:the budget opens up you know like

1:01:10Joe Weller:she's the best of all time like so I'm just kind of like I know I don't know I guess I just want better from Madonna I just love her ooh ooh you're playing with Uncle Louis for audio listeners the cat is playing with Uncle Louis she just stood up on her back legs

1:01:26Kim Petras:on her hind legs

1:01:27Joe Weller:watch it though babe but yeah

1:01:29Kim Petras:ooh Madonna coming back is like the next coming back because she's been fucking away for so long but when she comes back all these stars just come out basically

1:01:37Joe Weller:yeah so we love and Madonna that's good but like I will be oh fuck it I'll just say it it wasn't good I'm sorry like it just wasn't I wasn't gagging and that's fine what the San Antonio Spurs performance last night no the yeah no the I wasn't gagged by the music I'm really sorry to everyone in it because I love everyone it's still singles right yeah yeah yeah just I just everyone was like sharing the video and I was like this is like do you know what it is no wrong it's millennial you're being ageist again no but she's not tapping into Gen Z divas and I feel like that's the people she wants to impress at them true she needs to get a younger creative director maybe it's not, maybe she's doing an Adele like I'm making music for the 30 year olds which is great but there are not the people in the club but yeah I don't know, it's Osmadonna, I love you yeah obviously love you so much and if you want me to be in a video I will be, fine

1:02:31Kim Petras:so I can't believe you've converted to club music now you think Madonna's mid and you think Cool Super's a great DJ. Cool Super is a great DJ. He's an amazing DJ. But for context, for any new listeners, Sue would not be spotted anywhere near Cool Super is playing. Now, we should go to the next show. Wow. And do you think... No. What? Do you think you could be sober?

1:02:53Joe Weller:Yeah.

1:02:55Kim Petras:Couple of bints. Couple of bints at Cool Super. Yeah. Maybe. Couple of John Smiths at Cool Super. Well I'm so So Happy So excited I'm so excited For what the future might hold I didn't really I didn't really see this sort of Return to club music

1:03:11Joe Weller:Also guys How sane have I been I'm on a ADHD med Are we loving it? No Hands up bitches It's a robbery Someone asked Let's do every single Agony album We got loads actually So thank you girls Detour Brutalist Kim Petras album single thoughts. We've just done them. So yeah. That was a compliment one.

1:03:35Kim Petras:I literally loved start to finish.

1:03:38Joe Weller:Someone says, I can't afford Charlie XCX tour tickets and go to Maiden Voyage this year. Help a guy out. Skip Maiden Voyage in my opinion. Wait, sorry. Maiden Voyage what? Charlie XCX? Yeah.

1:03:48Kim Petras:Where's Charlie XCX playing? At O2. Oh, is she?

1:03:52Joe Weller:Yeah. She's, I had seen the US, but when's the UK? She's announced that you have to pre-saving album it's coming out today or tomorrow do you know what month she's playing

1:04:06Kim Petras:okay charlie i wonder how many nights she's doing i think it'll just be like two yeah at most uh yeah i would i would probably prioritize charlie xx as well maiden voyage is uh really cool but london day festivals don't compare to charlie like a proper proper gig like

1:04:25Joe Weller:that i would say would be interested to hear what your experience was like doing a subway take also generally generally what other social media podcast people you like take pointers from the

1:04:35Kim Petras:subway so i think is famous now guys so i think so i'm bored of hearing everyone's takes on artists

1:04:40Joe Weller:i literally don't care i just said it because i know it would invent reaction um just point people like wrong real art is this shut up man i don't give a fuck i think i'd like to earn from my art if you don't want to do that's fine but you can stay like everyone's like real artists should be in the gutter. I was like, says who? Boo who? I was like, was Da Vinci rich? Probably. Chronic migraine is 15 or more headache days a month,

1:05:04Kim Petras:each lasting four hours or more. Botox, onabotulinum toxin A, prevents headaches in adults with chronic migraine before they start. It's not for those with 14 or fewer headache days a month. It prevents on average 8 to 9 headache days a month, versus 6 to 7 for placebo. Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor. Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. Allerge your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk.

1:05:35Kim Petras:Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue and headache. Allergic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions including ALS Lou Gehrig's disease, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome and medications including botulinum toxins as these may increase the risk of serious side effects. Why wait? Ask your doctor, visit BotoxChronicMigraine.com or call 1-800-44-BOTOX to learn more.

1:06:02Joe Weller:When you finally find your thing, you want the whole world to know about that thing. So you use a thing called Canva to make it an even bigger and better thing. Whether you want to create flyers for that thing, make presentations for that thing, or design merch for that thing, you can do anything. So people can see your thing, feel your thing, love your thing the next thing you know it's a thing canva the thing that makes anything a thing

1:06:33Joe Weller:you caught you caught some stress from boy george yeah yeah i did boy george sent shots boy george shared the video and then said his thoughts about it and then followed me and i messaged me messaged him saying you're gagging me out and you never replied but he was basically saying like things change and i was like well boy george i'm really sorry that you could get given a massive record deal immediately from one of the biggest people in the industry because you walked in on him having a haircut and sang for him. But it's not how it works anymore. I can't remember his name, but you'll know him.

1:07:03Kim Petras:Wow.

1:07:04Joe Weller:Keith Lemon. Yeah, Keith Lemon. So like, good for you, boy George. I like you, boy George. But... I like some of the

1:07:11Kim Petras:Gaga songs. Yeah, yeah.

1:07:13Joe Weller:But like, obviously things have changed. Thank you, Captain Obvious. Yeah. Okay. I'm gonna get unfollowed by boy George now, but...

1:07:20Kim Petras:But hang on. You... So you feel like you've faced a lot of backlash for your Subway Take. Yeah, people agree.

1:07:29Joe Weller:They'll 68 % agree. Right. So people agreed with me. Also, I just want to say... Oh, they do a poll? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's a two-day poll and 68 % people agreed with me. Just want to say also, Kareem is lovely and the whole team of Subway Take takes are absolutely wonderful. Kareem. As I said, Kareem. Kareem. No, Kareem is lovely. Joe Bloom was filming it, who does View From A Bridge, so I already knew him. On the same day I was filming, there was dominic mcgovern who is a comedian who's lovely asa was doing it so i obviously know asa because he's one of bill's besties so we were kiki-ing there was crystal murray do you know crystal murray she's like a singer she's legend reva's managing her now oh wow and who else is there and then two activists i never got to speak to um because you hate activists because i was just too busy kicking um no but i was too busy being a bit like nervous and jarring and i get before gigs so i was just a bit like um but yeah they're amazing uh actually i'm intrigued by that what's the vibe because like so is i didn't everyone meets her you're all in this carriage so literally how it works is you how it would work for me we met at grind at shoreditch shoreditch grind naturally so i was there and i got a coffee and i was like well obviously ace is not here for no reason so i said ace nice to see you doing a silver take i was like yes so then we go and then you meet the producers already got your number so producer text you like are you here there's a big group of us funnily enough never told this story not on patreon but someone came up to ace had to ask for a picture and actually thought they'll come up to me which is funny um which was hilarious and so he took a picture and i walked up and then you go down to the northern line altogether and then you get on the northern line and it basically is you just get on a random carriage where two seats are and they film sit opposite you and film so it's not like they hire out a carriage or anything which i hoped for and like you're just doing it in front of like a full carriage and it It was a full fucking carriage.

1:09:15Joe Weller:And then you just go on the northern line until the top. And then it comes back. So I got like pretty far. Because there was four takes in front of me.

1:09:22Kim Petras:Could they have not picked a better line?

1:09:23Joe Weller:But I think it's like the look. It looks like the tube. Do you know what I mean? Right. It's the windows are darkened. Yeah, are old and stuff. Right. So then I go on. And eventually it was just like push away to the front. And so I pushed my way. But I was like third to last. Yeah. And that's the time I take and got off and just traveled home.

1:09:40Kim Petras:So you get off as soon as your take is done? Yeah. so you get off the train and go back to where did you get off high bar

1:09:46Joe Weller:like yeah yeah like no I'm trying to think of Northern Line like Williston is that Northern Line

1:09:52Kim Petras:uh couldn't tell you

1:09:54Joe Weller:like that area I was in like North right right right but not like North like right your North like North North yeah um yeah so it was great and it was amazing are there any other can anyone sorry can anyone can people hear you as you're doing a take yeah no because it's a Northern Line so you can't cause you're mic'd so you can barely hear people so I had no idea what other people were saying

1:10:13Kim Petras:unless they tell you before and are you making small talk with other people while you're yeah

1:10:17Joe Weller:you're all just sat there like chatting like just waiting and there's random punters on the tube as well like taking pictures of it happening because they know it's subway tech so they're taking photos of the subway tech wow yeah it's crazy amazing i would just say that um in terms of like

1:10:33Kim Petras:uh any comments disagreeing with you i feel like that happens on literally on everything oh yeah

1:10:37Joe Weller:for sure like i just it may it's just such noise because like i'm not getting to that point of been on the internet so long that i'm just like i'm not listening like you're commenting like i just don't even look at that notifications from that post anymore it's like well what would you like me to do um that being said but invoked a reaction from boy george which was just funny because honestly being a kid like i used to listen to so much boy george yeah and coach club um and obviously respect where respects to boy george is an icon but uh i didn't necessarily agree with his take but well it's not even he had a take it was just very obvious to say yeah things have changed i'm like yes thank you that's why i post on tiktok and have a podcast that's what i was saying um anyway but the final bit of also generally generally what other social media podcast people you like or take pointers from i think everyone that we love i think has been on the pod wait sorry so it was like in subway takes also generally uh joe bloom who runs uh view from a bridge is a really really wonderful man he's the kindest human being so if you ever end up being asked to do a um a view from a bridge he's a wonderful wonderful human being who's an artist he's great i like socks house meeting i saw him the other day and then he did that post about me that was so about me that image the ballet flat saying i've been on view from a bridge i was like you prick i saw i literally saw him the day before and we had a chat um um i like

1:11:59Kim Petras:ivy woke at the moment yeah love ivy woke we don't know ivy woke though i like um I like Kate King at the moment I like Kate King always and actually funnily enough I am enjoying I hate Tom Austin at the moment

1:12:15Joe Weller:oh no I do I love him but that video with Kate King was annoying you thought the Kate King one was performative yeah that was really performative I like the Kate King stuff that's real fans know whereas I think it was obvious that he was doing the thing with it and he was shouting and I was like that's so not Kate King babe

1:12:30Kim Petras:I also really like a comedian called Andrew Kerr who I sometimes share to my stories who does really great Mancunian characters podcast wise I don't really listen to that many podcasts God your group chat Sue is probably who else and online take pointers from as well who do we take pointers from no one we're completely in our own lane

1:13:03Joe Weller:anyone else oh actually there's people I'm proud of I'm proud of Jack Shepp

1:13:08Kim Petras:yeah for sure

1:13:09Joe Weller:for doing what he's done I'm proud of like Amara CTK100 I think what she's doing is amazing but she's a musician like there's multiple artists that like I just think yeah good for you bitch you're actually doing the thing you said you were going to do

1:13:22Kim Petras:I mean I will say that

1:13:27Kim Petras:Emergency Intercom did give us some sort of foundations On being able to do a podcast In a kitchen Who else do we know

1:13:38Joe Weller:I don't really know

1:13:40Kim Petras:That's a good list Toby from Bath Yeah Toby from Bath Messaged me As soon as you did your subway Take like Oh yeah by the way does Sue know that I set that up I pitched Sue Oh really oh thanks Toby And then he was like are you gonna when are you doing yours to me and I was like well pitch me Toby I was like I'm not doing one and then he never replied aww so um

1:14:12Joe Weller:just trying to think of who I like

1:14:13Kim Petras:to see at events like it doesn't have to be well I feel like it's more fun to do people that you are completely outside your circle like I like Shah and Kira and El Shah anytime you see on your TikTok feed

1:14:28Joe Weller:I like El Shah and they've got oh what's a I'm going to have to find their podcast. You love Bailey J. Mills? I love Bailey J. Mills. That movie. Are you here for the Chocomel hat?
