In short
Maisie Williams (Straight Diva) discusses her bisexual/pan identity, dating/sexual experiences, and how press and PR training shape what she can say publicly. She also talks about Practical Magic 2 press, Game of Thrones fandom, acting typecasting, gender presentation, tattoos, and living in the countryside vs London. The episode includes playful segments (a Practical Magic-themed poem, “X-Men” power questions, hot takes, and tarot/animal spirit cards).
Guests
Maisie Williams, actor known for Game of Thrones and Practical Magic 2. Also present are recurring hosts/cohosts: Sandra (and others referenced as Bill, Sue, Joey, and “Straight Diva” crew), plus a “temporary cohost” who joins briefly.
Key claims
She’s bisexual but identifies as pan too; she wants more explicitly queer roles on screen. Press is “where you have to be yourself” while PR training makes her feel she can’t speak freely. She says she’s been more PR-trained as she’s gotten older. She describes a planned fake Game of Thrones spoiler on Jimmy Kimmel/Fallon as her most successful stunt.
Notable examples
Practical Magic 2 press with Sandra, Nicole, and Joey; a Game of Thrones fake spoiler after episode two; noise complaints from neighbors during shared London living; tarot card “Stingray” interpreted as a growth/choice moment.

5:34Maisie Williams:As opposed to you and Practical Magic. Okay, great. Yeah. Perfect. But it is Practical Magic themed. Got it. God Fleming. Bibbity-boppity-boo, Maisie's on a broom. A witchy girl, margs on flow, bibbity-boppity-boo. An ex-man gal diva, she used to be Miss Aria. Gaggy this, Bill Nye that, bibbity-boppity-boo. Lived in London Field, followers at 9 mil. Missing is magic-pilled, bibbity-boppity-boo. From Bath or Bristol, baby. And the styling's crazy. She's the best no maybe. Come on, Sandra's baby. Bill, Amazie and Sue. That's so good. That's so good. Come on, Sandra's baby. Come on, Sandra's baby.
6:22Bill, Amazie and Sue.
6:23Maisie Williams:Yeah, wake it up. Thank you. Thank you. No one's ever written me a poem. There you go. Oh, I'm sorry. No, actually, maybe me neither. Yeah, I was going to say, how many poems have you had? No, because like some of my friends... Oh, you've got a whole song after. No, some of my friends are the sort of people. Now you're getting cocky because you've got a whole song running after. Okay, fine. A couple of songs, I'd say. Yeah, probably. But no, some of my friends... Make it work. Oh, shit. Sorry. It doesn't matter. But I did like the reference of X-Men, and it leads me to a joke, which I'm going to just like say this joke because I don't want to get cancelled.
6:55Maisie Williams:But in a way, we're all X-Men.
7:01Maisie Williams:is that we are we're all x-men yeah we're all x-men maybe that's what the title of the episode should be yeah we're all x-men we're all x-men all x-men okay um if you were um an x-man what would be your power so what would be my power i'd like invisibility but i feel like it's too like what was your power my power i was basically a werewolf oh yeah a lesbian one yeah double leathered up i know i've played lesbian more times than i've played straight or ambiguous which is crazy because i am currently in a point in my career where i really want to play a queer role and in 20 years i've never played an explicitly queer role on screen i played um on stage yes yes but even he was quite closeted history boys oh yeah yeah and that's likely like that's not necessarily confirmed is it he's not majorly gay not major gay yeah yeah well i don't know yeah okay so yeah you're getting typecast a lesbian yeah this was actually one of the most asked questions during the press tour what would your like witchy power be what would your stud name be what would your stud name be have you seen those videos yeah where it's like what's your stud name to like lesbians and then they say their stud name like flame and it's like what's your real name it's like Rebecca so yeah yeah so what was the main question sorry what would your witchy power be oh god i thought you could have being a witch is all the powers no i know it's a bit of a interesting thing about the magic in practical magic is they don't like hugely go into like what the girls can do no they just know that sally is really powerful and i just love that they're always like oh she doesn't know how powerful she is and i'm like no one does we're gonna find out when are we gonna find out when are we gonna find out who are you you're not sally you're antonia i'm antonia sally is our mother and she's like really powerful okay it's People always talk about it.
8:54Maisie Williams:That one time she screams and all the doors in the kitchen open. Yeah, just from her screaming. So imagine like, you know, if she was going... Yeah. No one gets that hand out. I know. Yeah. No one gets a handy. No one gets a handy. Yes, she does. When they're fighting, she's like that. Yeah, that's true. They go like this. She does get a hand out. And they say a lot of Latin. Is it Latin? I think so. I just thought they were making it up. None of us went to private school. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know. I didn't speak Latin. Probably. I've never been there. I never went to Ubu Jobber. I've never been to Ubu Jobber.

10:17okay well yeah so pressed all done that's it first is first and you're doing your next
10:24Maisie Williams:next project there's a song out next week it's fine so I mean it'll be fun when it's out when's the whole thing out or you have to just do it bit by bit hopefully by the end of the year have you recorded it all yeah it's done well we're finishing yeah it was finished we finished it on Monday wow yeah I know and then you're already doing the next one yeah yeah god the next next one yeah yeah yeah wow because I've got to do three within the year wow I know why Why? To make money and build a career, Maisie. Oh, because they say. Basically, it's like me and management came up, and the label came up with this idea of like, why?
11:00Maisie Williams:That like, it doesn't really work when you don't really have a big following. It doesn't really work if you disappear. Like if you lose momentum, whereas like actually we're just gonna try and stay on everyone's neck. Keep going. Can you remember when Brockhampton did it? And they did like three albums in a year. We're basically doing that. And then that was unfortunate. Keep it going, Shane and my neck. we just desperately trying to remember a Brockhampton song I never listened to them I did and then and then like they sort of got cancelled they got cancelled there's so many of them which one yeah exactly the one that was actually I think on the cover of like most of their albums oh god what happened that's annoying they were rapey rapey probably no I don't know I don't know that's you had it here first an exclusive here oh fuck we wanted to talk though because we were talking before do we talk about press tours and pr training yes if you want to i like press tours so much fun pr training terrifying this press tour i feel like i've been more pr trained than ever really i've been really trying because it's like it's just it's i cannot believe i'm saying this but like as i get older the more i just it's like you want you know we had bright bright bright success really young and then with medium
12:23medium um and then and then it's like i've captured i've managed to capture a you know lightning in a bottle again and i just i'm like i don't want it to go away and everyone is so pr trained that i just feel but all i do is say like um i just think like i feel like i'm gonna be i'm I think my superpower would be like, and I'm just like, this is so embarrassing. Like I really want to be able to just eloquently say what I think, but that's not how I communicate. So it's just like a constant battle between being PR trained and just being myself.
12:56Maisie Williams:For sure. Yeah, how much of yourself are you? Because I think the same whenever I have to do like interviews. Even when I did Straight Diva, like the first time I was like talking into the camera the whole time as though like, I was so conscious of the audience. and if you see any like interviews from when I'm a kid everything's just like really nice and super happy to be here. Right. And that's boring and you want to like, you know, be yourself. But also if you were yourself, you'd get cancelled. I would so get cancelled. Not you specifically, I think all of us. All of us would because we're all walking contradictions.
13:28Yeah, I 100 % agree. It's, yeah. This is why I love the name of your...
13:36Maisie Williams:Oh, thanks. Your EP. Project. Project. Project. project project yeah because it's too long for an ep really i don't want to say an album because it's just like i think yeah i think when you i think that's what's wrong is like when you have things to lose you start to like second guess everything you know what am i gonna do oh my god it's like no i think like the tide is changing and i think it's fun to see people like real and how they are but like there's the industry is still in two halves like some people are just It's like, oh. Are you kind of like jealous of the girlies? Like Meg Stolter.
14:11Maisie Williams:Like, she's got it so good. Like she can like turn up to any of these like eventy things and just be like so unapologetically herself. And that's like the brand that we know her for. Yeah. But I think if you start out particularly in like, you know, a popular HBO show and like you're expected to be like squeaky clean. I don't know. Like that then suddenly to be like, fuck it, I'm going to be myself. kind of can look a bit like, oh, she's, now are you trying to like break any of them shackles or whatever? Yeah, exactly. It's just, I just want to be. Who is the real Maisie Williams? I know. No one knows.
14:51Maisie Williams:Isn't that lovely though? Keep it to yourself. Keep it to myself. I think that's what we all need to do. Keep it to ourselves. I think we all need to shut up really. That's the problem with press. You're talking too much. Talking too bleeding much. Go on. Yeah, people are like, what do you want people to know about you? it's like actually everyone knows fucking everything i want them to know less yeah yeah what's the secret thing about yourself that you wish people knew none of your fucking business there's a reason it's a secret yeah shut up yeah but have you been asked to do pr training no have you been asked to take anything out of anything yes more when there's guests on and we talk about um i mean i could tell you outside that you dispose of basically like i think if your pr person was here would it be asked to take it out yeah whereas i i feel so i don't want to name names but i mentioned drugs in an episode with someone we both know and their team was like can you please take that out they weren't they were like but like it's like yeah teams are people are just scared of branding even we went for a meeting with i mean i probably six i've heard about this so there's nine to five times we have like uh pr and agents and stuff and they're like you need to stop talking about i'll call in drugs if you want like a burberry campaign and i was like i just feel like i could do it as well like do you know what i mean i'm just like well charlie did it so yeah do you know what i mean well it's not like i'm not like i take cocaine it's just more like no it just comes up in conversation yeah like i have taken cocaine in my life i never have but i think no no you never have ever ever Yeah, you two have and I have.
16:27Maisie Williams:It's just me. But I think it is. Actors don't really. No. They never, and they don't smoke. No. No. It's a common, they just do it fake with the rose petal cigarette. Yeah. Tommy Shelby style. Tommy Shelby tease. Will we see you in a flat peak anytime soon? Yes, actually. Pinky the Blinder. How's your family accent? You're right, Maisie. Not good. Not great. No. Oh, no. Not great. Not good. Oh, no. Stephen Knight call yeah can we talk about if I'm not interrupting not at all your origin story oh yeah of how how you're here so Maisie is my best friend but also our landlord in many ways yeah we're home you're home rent's due oh shit what rent rent is due honey sure yeah and welcome home thank you we lived here together for four years yeah about that but also that was like end of thrones other things in life i basically never lived here no i had a bedroom downstairs that i was never in and bill had the best like the time of your life here i my favorite story from that time is because i'm loud i'm a loud housemate i'm banging and clattering around i'm staying up too late um loud we get a official noise complaint from the yeah but it's from the council like they've gone to the council they've gone to the council and they've come in and we're going through it and immediately it builds over my shoulders like oh well done and i'm like no no no no no i was away this date that was you yeah it was so surprising i know so fuck's sake maizey Yeah, the neighbours already came down.
18:17Maisie Williams:He's crazy. I know, like this is so serious. We're like three fucking months into living here and we've already got noise complaints, Maisie. We can't live like this. I think, yeah. Like what were the people before us doing? Clearly not having any fun. Well, the funny thing was that there was different times. There's loads of different people who've like lived above us here. But one time someone like kind of shouted down through the window and was like, hi guys, just so you know, we can hear sort of everything when your kitchen windows open and our bedroom window open. We can hear everything. Yeah, but also...
18:48Maisie Williams:And I wanted to be like, yeah, bitch. We can hear you fucking all the time. We had them having sex all the time. Also, like, quite odd hours of the day. Not odd, it's pretty rock and roll. We would just sit here like, wow, this is fucking lonely. Like, what the hell? They're having so much fun upstairs. It's, like, boring. What, and you... They used to shout down, like, we can hear what you're saying. I was like, join in then, queen. It was just one thing. Like, what's two? Like, oh, fuck, what is that movie with Micah Monroe? And, oh, cut it. Honestly, I didn't know who Micah Monroe is. Cut the camera's dead ass.
19:28Oh, and it's Monroe. I wasn't very familiar with Micah Monroe.
19:31Maisie Williams:Are they the person that's in Julia's film, A Hundred Nights of Hero? Yes. Who is that? Have you watched that? No. Who is he in that? He, her? She. And that's okay. They, them. the main character the sort of like princessy character that's Michael Monroe I had no idea who she was I have no idea yeah I'm just thinking of which Emma's in it what was it called one of the Emmas is in it oh they're both they then aren't they and that's okay and that's okay do you think whoever went the name Emma do you think whoever went second saying I'm also non-binary the one who went first is a bit like that's a little bit annoying yeah Yeah, I imagine them being like, I actually did book a role before them, like years ago, so actually I was the first.
20:19Maisie Williams:Yeah. We need to get the non-binary Emma in now and the producer thinking, which one? Do you reckon they've ever been confused for the other one? 100 %! Oh yes, so much so. Yeah. I loved you in House of the Dragon. Oh. Oh my God. Which one's Princess Diana and which one's the dragon? Princess Diana is Corrin. Darcy. Darcy is House of the Dragon. So therefore Corin is in 100 Knights of Hero Yeah Corin's in 100 Knights of Hero So it was like Emma race to testosterone Because who's going to be The first to like Microdose T Oh yeah The they thems love that Do you know what I mean Exciting These are some things That we have to look forward to In our lifetime Yeah The they thems exploring HRT Yeah Yeah I guess How exciting How exciting No no just specifically The two Emmas Yeah the two Emmas Oh right yeah Well I hope one of them does it Comes out with a beard so fierce so fierce i'd love that little mustache but it is tricky with acting if like you want to maintain a career that can sort of you can do lots of roles and things like that like if you're how you're sort of like displaying gender and playing with gender then comes into like conflict with like your career and like yeah let's be honest even if you are non-binary if you're afab you probably are mostly going to be going up for female presenting roles yeah and so actually as much as maybe they might want to be bucking around with you know a little beard or you know some yeah some muscles added with a bit of tea i just think messing with your your appearance in any way in any capacity any gender as an actor is like turns some people on and some people are yeah what were your thoughts about because like my friends who were like modeling full-time getting a tattoo was like yeah like you might as well like come up from hell and kill everyone i know my full back is covered now yeah i love it it's not gonna stop you getting a job is it i don't think so like and yeah it was like an opportunity for me to like express yourself yeah or at least like feel like oh i'm not bound by like my job title and also let's be honest i probably do acting two percent of my whole entire life so why would i yeah make decisions based on that two percent yeah like a costume designer who was like we were doing a fitting and she saw all my tattoos and she was like oh you actors you're always getting tattoos it's so silly and i was like you know what actually i'm not gonna have that um yeah yeah got a fire um but it was like this is actually the one time it's so nasty sorry tell the producer yeah she's commenting on my body i felt very uncomfortable that's so weird yeah yeah yeah i think you just gotta live your life i do i think you just have to live your life like yeah enjoy it enjoy your body do what you want to do to your buddy do what you want with my body oh banger to be fair but the christina version just want to flag that i don't know that one no no do what you want by lady gaga but yeah banger but like the christina version because the first versions i haven't heard it oh what no kidding not not you not you just want r kelly you're not allowed to listen to the r is it r kelly or is it they're all yeah i think r kelly is not he's yeah yeah if it's not r kelly I'll just get rid of this it's fine no R.
23:47Kelly's out Xtina's in Xtina so in she's looking younger than ever I know I want to know who did that to her face
23:54Maisie Williams:honestly looky girl but wouldn't make a successful actor no well maybe well maybe I know she probably has acted right yeah she's in Bolesk I mean I don't know if you get this I like feel so like true to myself true to my art true to my face true to like I want to be an actor I want my face to move like I want to and then like you see who gets cast and you think yeah so maybe i do need to like it's really hard to not compare yourself this is why i feel so envious of the music industry because it's like you can be what you want to be yeah the scary thing is is also that's like the brand many options then you also need to like i know people say you don't need to anymore but like you need to be young and i think that's the thing i know people that lie about their age right like because they wouldn't still have told like press their one age and like they're not and i know they're not but did you notice when we were in primavera is like people that came up to you to sort of like get a photo or say hi were very much like aria and kind of looking at you as this like thing whereas if people came up to like sue they'd be like hey sue you having a festival how are you yes like and so i don't know why people do that it's so i mean i just yeah it's that thing of like us having to like hide a part of ourselves to then look like castable in anything whereas like you are creating the brand and the thing yeah that is you i think it must be hard though the only the one time at prima that i was like was like two straight boys don't know if you remember but there was like these two straight boys and they were like they were big boys and they like came up to us and i was like please go away like we were like please like it was charlie that like we were like walking somewhere and they kind of like clocked you and then they were like and then they did like the thing where like the eyes glaze glaze over and don't see you as like a person this he was like ari and you and he was like are you ari and you were like yeah a while ago yeah and then charlie wrote to be like all right now guys off you go like you had to like come standing because we were both just like girl get away i think like like booze drugs makes people so much more bold yeah and like it just makes people like they lose their inhibitions and there's been so many nights where i'm like i wonder if that person is going to wake up tomorrow and prang out about the conversation that we had because they should yeah because i'm still thinking about it yeah yeah because it's in my brain but yeah i just yeah i don't know i love that people are such a listen like this is why i have a whole career like it's amazing but people just lose their mind a little bit i feel like people want to show you how much they love the show and how much it means to them so they perform the role of being a fan to you in a way that's like almost a bit disingenuous where it's like you can also just be like it's like i'm not gonna feel insulted if you're just like hi oh my god i didn't expect to see you here like that is a perfectly okay way to approach someone but i think people have to be like oh no oh my god look look look it's yeah and you're like when they come up to you and you're like are you who i think you are and it's like don't make me fucking answer that question in that way like it depends who you think yeah yeah yeah i get like the worst version which is like they don't know who I am and they have to go what are you in and then I'm like please don't make me listen this really mediocre TV did me and Ryan tell you about this time when we were at a party and this person who I'm not gonna name it was like a famous person I'm not gonna name but I'll tell you after came up to me and then I think in the last since the last time I saw her she has watched Game of Thrones so she came up to me and she was just like much nicer to me than normal but then she like she is like blackout drunk she turns to ryan and goes and you're uh you oh my god it's you it's my friend ryan is a journalist he's not an actor at all we were like who did she think that he is and we're pretty sure that she thought that he was you haven't seen the show right i watched it this year renly baratheon espolon tequila balanced delicious 100 % agave 0 % eagle just add ice lime and your mouth for a real margarita ride the rooster espalón tequila 40 alcohol by volume 80 proof copyright 2026 compelling america new york new york drink responsibly can you hear that it's the calm sugar white sandy beaches of saint pete clearwater and if you listen closely you'll hear the ums coming from the epic restaurants the cheers from sun-soaked music festivals and the beat of our legendary nightlife scene.

28:37He was like... Which one's Renly? He was gay. Oh, at the start? Like in season two, I think.
28:45Maisie Williams:Yeah, yeah, I do know. I do know. or something like that or maybe they thought he was like Jon Snow or something I don't know amazing that is so fucking funny oh and maybe what's his name he's from Nottingham lovely actor who you're sexed with oh um oh I love him oh Joe could be Joe Dempsey yeah could be Joe exactly but it was just the way that she was performing fandom and I was like girl wrong guy wrong guy wrong guy and you you are slaying And it was so uncomfortable because I was just like, damn, this is like purely for his benefit and yeah, it's the wrong person. Ryan was telling me about the time where you were both at Glastonbury and someone comes up to you and you're like, you're Maisie Peters.
29:28Maisie Williams:And you're like, no, I'm not. And you're like, no, I'm not. And then she's like, yes, you are. Yes, you are. Don't deny it. Yes, you are. You're Maisie Peters. You're Maisie Peters. Shout out Maisie Peters. I love you. I wonder if Maisie Peters gets Maisie Williams Maybe Who comes up to me and says that I get you all the time Is it ever an insult? No People say we look just alike I feel like Sarah Hyland was like I get you all the time People are always like a U.R.A. Stark Sarah Hyland she was in Modern Family Oh yeah Which to me is a huge compliment She is beautiful I bet she's like Really? No No, it's not.
30:16Maisie Williams:Do you want to, I would like to talk about stuff about Game of Thrones, but have you got anything to say about Game of Thrones? I love that show. Yeah, it's fierce. Brilliant. I don't know. Have I got anything to say about Game of Thrones? No. And that's fierce. But the one thing I did want to bring up is I watched it this year, Fierce's work. Watched it this year and then, oh, I actually, sorry, Hugo. Is it your thing? do you watch things i watched it all i was really entertained until the final fucking season right did it piss you off no not at all i was very very entertained but two days before i watched the like the gag episode where you gag the girls yeah we went out with our friend harry's now ex who he was with for like a week and this guy i was sat with him and he told me what happened and it was like the day before i watched the episode so i was just waiting for it to happen because i knew but just i I just want to say how gagged I would have been.
31:09Maisie Williams:But when it happened, I was like gaggy. But the only thing I was saying on Game of Thrones, which I wanted to ask you, because I saw it going around on the Practical Magic Tour, is when you did the thing on Jimmy Kimmel. Yeah. Gaggy. Or Fallon. Fallon. Oh, Fallon. Yeah, yeah, yeah. One of the Jimmys. Yeah, did a fake spoiler. That is still, I think, like my most successful thing I've ever done. Was that off the dome? no we did plan it yeah i checked with the publicity team i was like what fake spoiler can i say yeah because then it actually gets into like layers because then you're starting to like because then people know that i don't die but we said the second episode because the third episode was the big war scene so then after the second episode people were tweeting me like oh so maybe she dies in the third episode but then she didn't but yeah no that's the most successful thing i've ever done i'm missing things like that that was fun simpler times where's the reboot where's the reboot where's the reboot honey reboots the house down mama oh hello you know in the ether along with like a um in a sense a new mutant sequel oh yeah yeah oh wow well it's up there um i boy too iboy 2 iboys that would be transition yeah
32:38yeah yeah you've all had a neck beard
32:41Maisie Williams:it's here yeah i actually think iboy 2 could be fierce i think so i think we have to like do sequels to things that didn't find its audience first time around yeah a la practical magic well yeah like do you know what i mean practical magic was like critically not like loved and then it like found its cult cult we have a cult following for i boy there are at least three fans that have you seen me me too yeah have you seen oh i don't know could i talk about the edit someone did an edit um and it's called like kirk boy and they've edited charlie kirk onto the poster of i boy i find it absolutely crazy in fact i can show you now wait wait is it big is it big on the right wing i don't really know they just did one and it just came up on my feet that is crazy likes to like Google me every so often and find like stupid memes.
33:33Maisie Williams:That's crazy. I don't know why they did it. Stop. Well, because my character in iBoy gets shot in the head. Okay. Yeah. Oh, that's it. Well, actually your iPhone gets shot and the shards of your, the iPhone blocks your head from being shot. Yeah. And the shards of iPhone get embedded in your brain. Oh yeah. Very Neuralink before Neuralink was a thing. Literally. Is that what it's called? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I had powers to control all computing and basically electronics. So you were AI. You were the AI we were worried about, girl. I was just AI, honey. Oh. Nothing artificial about it. All natural.
34:14Maisie Williams:I'm a real fish. Fish boy. Fish boy.
34:22Maisie Williams:It's nice, isn't it? Life's nice. Life is lovely. so yeah we lived together four years and now and then you made the move I did I jumped out of London you left London and I feel like this is a good opportunity Sue and I are I think getting a lot of London fatigue what is it that's fatiguing you I just feel like it is it's like you'll get back to London you'll get on the train you'll be overwhelmed anyway and then just like someone's screaming on the train you get onto another train and then like like we got on the train the other day we were coming back from wherever the fuck we were coming from this is all about how Sue hates trains yeah they suck they suck in London I mean to be fair you will still have to go on trains to get into London but it's not a truth yeah it's not a truth what are you talking about a tube or an overground overground but it was like we like got on the train and then we were like going to sit down and this girl kind of like sweeps in before Bill and like sits next to me but like she just kind of like and I was just sat next to this random girl who'd clearly come from a rave and like I was just like sat there tamping fuming and like because I'm like really petty not that I did do anything but like Bill was just having to stand yeah yeah not that I did anything but I ripped her extensions out you're not gonna do shit you're not gonna do shit yeah I just feel tired like every day I leave and then I feel like Deliveroo drivers are out to kill me like it's just I turn a corner and like yeah do you know what I mean I'm just tired at the minute I just feel it's like it's just really busy I'm from the middle of fucking nowhere I was gonna say it's over simulating you're both not from from london or like a big city yeah and so i kind of get that like the peace and quiet you miss the peace and quiet yeah like the only thing you can hear is like the nearest b road and you're like oh wow that's so loud the traffic's crazy but it's like just sprawl it's just fields and it's just like what do you miss the most from london from london it's like what we just did like you can just nip anywhere grab a little coffee see your friends bump into someone like your friends are all about all the time yeah like the convenience of just being able to like oh I'll just run and do this run and do that like everything's a car journey yeah everything and all my friends are like the um I've got friends that I've made now since I've moved there very impressed actually by the way I would be so if I moved I don't think I would have new friends it's like I moved there 2021 to start with and with like it's five years for me to like really start hanging out with people and like really let people in because i take a minute anyway um but yeah i just think here yeah all my friends are 45 minutes away at least some of them are three and a half hours away and but yeah here i miss the spontaneity of like just it's a thursday like let's go crazy you're not going you are not going crazy on a thursday that said i feel like when we were living here that was like right in the height of like yeah and shit like that and we you didn't want to be spontaneous because it was like why would i want to go to the fucking pub and have everyone looking at me and like yeah i don't like to like look back and regret things but sometimes if i look at the like the way i've done my life i do sometimes feel like i got like my early 20s and my late 20s mixed i should have been living in the country when i was like worldwide famous and i should now be living in london now that everything's calmed down a bit yeah and there's like more successful actresses taking my part thanks name them name them so i yeah but but like that's just that's just it isn't it that's just life and then what do you love about living in the country i love peace and quiet i love having a whole room which is my wardrobe i love not having to pay an extortionate price for that i love my garden i grow vegetables i love my woodland i love my dog running around still managing to escape the garden even though it's fucking huge yeah i'm like is this not enough for you like some i'm like talking to him sometimes i'm like you know some dogs live in apartments okay think yourself lucky that you have a garden i like after this i'm gonna go back and i'm gonna go in my friend's sauna and then go and jump in the swimming pond and then like last night double yoga in a studio that's not completely overrun and then the teachers like on their iPhone.

38:31Sorry, hate that about London. The yoga studios here have zero like zen vibes. There is no zen. Really? I've never been. Yoga studios in London, I'm sorry. They're exercise classes. Exercise classes have ruined yoga. Yoga is different to exercise classes. It's spiritual practice.
38:48Maisie Williams:Hot take. Hot take. Subway take. Subway take. Subway take. No, and I think in London, like your teachers like on their iPhone and I just think, girl, time and place. I just remember. It's like a dick and cock. And you did it at my birthday dinner. I just remembered what you said that your subway take would be. And someone said it the other day. Shut up. No, no, no. No, sorry, I said that wrong. A woman the other day was pregnant and she started saying baby. And I thought, I'm going to fucking kill you. For the audience, what is your hot take? Listen, I'll never say it on subway takes or anything like that.
39:24So here's your opportunity. I'll say it now because I'm amongst friends. but when people are having babies and they are talking to their midwives for some reason they say like how's mum doing how's dad doing how's baby doing and they want to like give baby a title that's as important to like mum and dad so as baby is as present or whatever but it just sounds fucking stupid it's fucking stupid and then after baby is born people still keep saying well yeah because baby's heart rate was going up so it was a really stressful but just say like your child's name just call them by their name now at this point also sure we don't know the gender we don't know but just say the baby the baby that makes sense yeah yeah i'm sorry it's a crazy hilted iron but i really love it i just it irritates me to no end and it's probably the main reason why I won't have kids.
40:24I'm joking. No, and I'm sorry to all the midwives, like, you work so hard, you work tirelessly, and I know it's like, really stressful job, but it's just one of those things that I just, I don't understand how we got here, and I don't like it. Let's go back. Well,
40:35Maisie Williams:it's just not grammatically correct. It's just not, how do we get, yeah, how do we get, unless it is a thing of trying to make, because you wouldn't go, how's the mum doing? But the mum's not here, like, the mum is here. The mum is here. The baby isn't here yet. The baby is still, whereas, I feel like if it was fierce, I'd be like, how's mother? How's mother doing? Is she feeling kind? Yeah. How's my little baby? And how's my little baby? And how's daddy? How's daddy? Yeah. How's daddy? How's mother? And how's it doing? How's our baby doing? Oh, yeah. That's fair. Love that. Our baby. How's our baby doing?
41:04Our baby. Yeah.
41:05Maisie Williams:How's your baby? How's your baby? They really should just say, how's your baby? So actually, what we need to do is do doula training. Fierce doula. And then we just deliver people. Does Joe still do that? Sorry? Does Joe still do? I don't think she ever, no, she did lots of attempts to do that. She'll be listening. I think about that, hi Jo. I think about that all the time. I'm like, if I have a baby, I want Jo to be my midwife and she's not even a midwife. My friend in Amsterdam is a doula, so we'll get her over. Yeah. Yeah, you give birth there. Maybe I'll just accidentally give birth there.
41:34Maisie Williams:Or Jo could take a quick course online maybe and it'll be fine. Yeah, exactly. I'm sure that's what she did the first time around. Yeah. I mean, she's had two, so I can only assume. I know, she knows what's going on. You've done subway hop takes and I loved it, by the way. I can't believe that he disagreed. No, but I love that he did. I literally like, if you could see my spirit, I like ascended. The minute he said disagree, I was literally like, thank God, honey. Because I've been practicing this in the mirror. And the only gag that I don't like, is when he was like, so a plumber, I said, that's not an artist.
42:02Maisie Williams:And everyone's like, plumber's an artist. I'm like, yes, I know they're artists. I think they're brilliant. I love a plumber. But they're not. But like, it's a different thing. It's a skill and a craft, which is great. there's creativity to the way that you do it but it's not sold as an art yeah i wouldn't say he's lovely have you met him no he is like heaven i was i did that i was on the same train as asa when we did it so you all just get on a train and then yeah it's like a group of you go so you all meet at you okay this is it like a um like a streaming farm no literally you meet at grind in shoreditch and you all get on the train together northern line and you just drive all the way to the end what was fierce about it though like not to out asa like love that boy but he was like not out of him but like he was he's gay no yeah he's gay I'm kidding but he was like we were all like everyone just kind of like stood there as a gaggle and like what I loved about Acer was Acer was just like I'm going now because Acer was like I'm not going further up the fucking northern line I'm not going to fucking morda Acer just went in and like sat down I was like that's for you and whilst we were all just like waiting till we asked to sit down and Acer was like no I'm getting on and I'm getting off and I'm like three stops away and I'm going home Whereas I was at the...
43:10Maisie Williams:I was on the Northern Line so far, it was daylight outside. Do you know what I mean? No. Do you know when it goes to the board ground and you're like, oh, fucked it. No. Yeah. But yeah, but Asus was amazing, actually. What was Asus? I didn't watch Asus. Everyone should know how to do a magic trick. Why? Whimsy, I guess. Whimsy. Yeah, yeah, Whimsy. I actually do know a few. Do you? Oh, yeah, well... Oh, because it's practically magic. Yes, because I'm a witch. Because I'm a fucking witch. What would your hot take be? I think I'm such a sort of opinionated an awkward person that kind of my whole life is a hot take because i'm so specific about things that i think i would really piss people off i feel like you just do have so i think i like i come across things that i do in my life that i'm like you know what this that would be my subway take and then like two minutes later there'll be something else that pisses me off so i i'm over wrong with ideas that i actually don't know there was one for a while that i wanted to do if i was ever asked but then i someone did it what what was it over-therapized no the first because that's what I want mine to be.
44:10Maisie Williams:I'm over-therapy. Oh, yes. Mine was that we should bring back like national service and like conscription, but not for the army for working in hospitality. Basically, everyone needs to work at least six months in hospitality. That's a really good one. Because as someone who's worked in hospitality, you can fucking tell the people who have never worked. People who are rude, people who don't ask how your day is.
44:49Maisie Williams:can you hear that it's the calm sugar white sandy beaches of saint pete clearwater and if you listen closely, you'll hear the mmms coming from the epic restaurants, the cheers from sun-soaked music festivals, and the beat of our legendary nightlife scene. I remember actually one time we went to a cafe and there was a banana smoothie on the menu and I was with you and you ordered some food and then i was like can i just have a banana and you were like i'm so sorry about it because i was like well there's like clearly bananas on the menu yeah so i think there was even like a banana on toast on the menu so i thought like i know you do them whole yeah i know there's some i am definitely more mature now and i'm sorry no to have policed you no but actually i think i've become like a better i've never worked in the service i've I've never worked in the food industry.
45:54Never had a normal job.
45:56Maisie Williams:But you're always serving. But I've been serving since birth. Yeah. So, but I think I have become, I stack my plates. Like I try and be like, I try and be like, it's like on the airplane. I don't want them to ever have to tell me that I need to raise the. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've already done it. I've done it. I've done it. Girl, I've done it. See, it's up. Yeah. I'm pretending to listen. Yeah. And also now it's like, they do let you use your iPad, but not if it's in the case that has the. Really? the other day they were like I'm so sorry man but you actually can't use that I was like I was bright red I'm so sorry I'm so sorry this is a new rule I'm gonna learn this one yeah exactly and now I'm watch me next time I've got my iPad out of its case and I'm there like I have learnt from my various doctor's appointment recently that I think I have a bit of a like sort of goody goody two shoes kink of like trying to be the most perfect patient yeah when they're like this is gonna hurt and I'm like it's okay honestly I get it you've just gotta do this let me guess short sharp scratch okay and they're like oh they're like so sorry for keeping you waiting I'm like no no I'm sure it's busy I know what it's like the NHS no we're grateful for you and I say that like the NHS is fucked but the people who work there are terribly nice people yeah they work really really hard they do I love them I love them Paul in the plaster room at Homerton Hospital you will not be listening but I love you so much Oh my god.
47:21Maisie Williams:How's that? So much. It's okay. And how's the hair? She looks a bit crusty. It's good. Never had any complaints. Never had any complaints. Shit. Oh my god. Who was the girlie on Drag Race who missed the house? Who just missed the house? Missed Fame. That's me. I missed the same. What is it? Wake up or? Wake up Pearl. No, wake up Pearl is Pearl. Oh god. Wake up Pearl. Wake up Pearl. Is there something on my face? Yeah. Would you like to do, because it's like witchy biscuits and then we'll do agony aunts, would you like to do your animal spirit card? I would. Okay, let's do it. I'm just going to check we're still recording.
47:51Maisie Williams:I have a history of pulling some really gaggy cards of them. So you've done quite a bit of tarot during this press run. Yeah, trot. I've actually got one tattooed on my back. That's how much I love the cards. Yes. We've been doing it a little bit. I mean, I feel like people haven't been doing it in the interviews. I think it was discouraged because, like, it kind of isn't really some juju to be messed with. Like, the other day, we were on Magic Radio, and they were like, oh, let's just pull some cards. And Joey pulled the tower. Anyone who knows? Bless her. I know and I was like god this is like a bit bleak like that we're just like on live radio pulling tarot cards and you've got maybe one of the most troubling cards.
48:25Maisie Williams:These aren't toys. They're not tools honey. So okay I'm just gonna. So for these ones um you shuffle you split into three and then you restack the deck and then you pull the top card. Okay. Sue and I did ours most recently I got the owl um which means I've got like gifts coming um and And then I did a recall Zoom audition the other day and it lasted all of four minutes. So I don't think that's my gift. Oh yeah, I didn't tell you it was so bad, Maze. It was like, we did the scene twice and then you pull the top card, yeah. Stingray. Ooh, interesting. I don't know Stingray. Someone, I just put, we've got a very special guest on Straight Thea, before you find out about the Stingray and then just someone puts, it's Maisie Williams, isn't it?
49:14Maisie Williams:how do we know I don't know yes okay we've mined our famous friends and we don't have any left yeah so but wait I mean Ace hasn't been on yet no I don't know that'd be a fun episode I don't know if Ace of the One it's not straight straight yeah okay I'd love Ace of the One Stingray developing confidence sense of self or spine oh she's a weak bitch the Stingray card represents a pivotal point in personal growth the moment has come when the Stingray must decide between the old, easy, comfortable, and familiar, and the new, challenging, uncomfortable, and unfamiliar. Pressure from family and friends makes the decision even more complicated.
49:52Maisie Williams:No matter what choice is made now, it's inevitable that this dilemma will surface again and again, as the force of Dharma, which is your life's purpose, growing within the stingray is too strong to ignore. When in balance, eager, wants to grow. When out of balance, blames others, quits. To bring into balance, move through discomfort. that's kind of gagging this is kind of yeah so good i was actually just thinking in the car on the way here i was thinking about my inner child healing yes which i was doing a lot of work on pre being in a relationship because i feel like you have a lot more time to sort of thing yeah and then i was like hmm i wonder if i've been maybe neglecting the work on that little girl and like maybe it's time to start you know have you ever done emdr no what is that it is like looking at it's more for like traumatic experiences but i i've gone to just like try and like really learn and like reap it's basically it's like either lies so it ignites the left and right side of your brain so you kind of go to like a flow state it's not like yeah but you're like you're in like a flow state and like and then you can remember things so i've started remembering things from school that made me feel like sad or like upset that i like wouldn't have remembered and you remember like it's so weird it's like you remember you do it with a person you do it with a person like therapist and then and my therapist is an angel but like but people like crying i don't cry it's actually reminded me that like my um childhood was actually quite nice and like there was like some rough bits but like it was actually quite lovely i've been moaning the whole time yeah and then i've just been like oh yeah fuck that girl in school who said i was mean in year two because it actually like fucks you up yeah i the only thing i've had similar to that is i was doing a fascia release class and um we had some of the spongy balls and we just like had to every time I tell this story, I can't help but laugh because I had to rub the balls on my chest.
51:43Maisie Williams:Been there, girl. And it just always sounds not quite right. So, but I just had like a spike of a memory and then just started crying in the middle of the house. I think that is amazing though. Yeah. And it is really amazing. I'm like kind of annoyed that EMDR didn't cry. I haven't cried yet. It's coming. It is, but also ADHD meant to mean that I just can't cry. I know. I'm just like permanently fine. Yeah. Charlie went to an acupuncturist and he was just feeling really like tense and then he like put a pin in his chest and then told him to like breathe deep and then he like was just sobbing uncontrollably and he was like what did you do and the guy just is like stood in the corner of the room he's like just my job but he's also the same guy that grabbed Charlie's knees and went do you eat a lot of sandwiches and Charlie was like yeah literally I'm on the meal deals at the moment I've been having sandwiches every day That is crazy.
52:36Maisie Williams:Do you eat a lot of sandwiches? Eat a lot of sandwiches. Shady as well. That is so shady. And then I went to see him and I forget what... Oh, he said, do you have a lot of floaters in your eyes? And I was like, no. He was like, any like, you know, hazy, dry? I was like, no. Never. My eyes are fine. You don't know me. I went to like a really bad spiritualist the other day and I was just sort of playing along. Was this in LA? In LA. I went to like this tea rooms and I was just sort of... She's like, there's been a really negative energy that's been following you. that correct i was like yeah you know i just don't know how to get rid of it playing along and then she was locked in she was like i'm gonna rinse this money for every penny she's got rinse this woman for every penny she's got anyway um she just was saying a lot of like very blanket things she's like you've had bad digestive system haven't you no actually i haven't yeah something happened last february that caused you a lot of pain no nothing last february one of the best decisions I ever made I did watch a really good um like seancey video the other day um where a man it's like reaching out to a spirit and the spirit is like speaking back to him and he's like um does someone have um family member in Romania and someone's like yeah me and it's like she's trying to speak to me um but I don't speak Romanian uh so I'm just gonna have to um sort of um i can't translate it you're gonna have to translate for me he proceeds to speak like short romanian phrases and the woman's like um he's saying it's crazy babe like i love you and i'm proud of you and he's like uh-huh and just like he's picking out romanian phrases it's the most wild it is wild that's crazy that has to be real because yeah yeah how else i mean practice Romanian, I guess.
54:21Maisie Williams:Unless he went to like a very Romanian place with like a high population. Someone's got to be Romanian. Yeah, I don't know. I keep flip-flopping back and forth. Have you read the make-believe Hannah Murray's book? Not yet. It's really good. I'm really excited. And I feel like I'm so like, it's 11-11, make a wish. There's patterns everywhere. Oh my God, that's so funny. My friend's called Bill. Oh my God, it's crazy. Like I like to look for the patterns in everything. Stupid. and then the book is like kind of made me try to stop doing that so much i know i think similarly i speak to my friends sam and like genuinely when i'm in a bad place if i see one single magpie i will kill myself i saw you salute one this morning yeah yeah yeah there was there was two but there was two i still salute two just in case it doesn't like yeah but it's like when i see one came up in your press run didn't they yeah yeah you did talk about that i salute them but but with single ones sam was like i changed it instead of being sorrow it actually means rain's gonna come and that feels so much nicer to me than like one for sorrow because I'm about to feel sorrow instead of instead of just like rains rains rains rains yeah against my own girl do you want some agony aunts?
55:28yeah let's do it
55:28Maisie Williams:em dubs um right at the start of the year me and my friend were close with this other girl you could call us the three musketeers or whatever after a couple months of oh after a couple months she broke up with her bf a skinny bolding twink right good for you girl she then started hanging around a guy who's extremely similar looking to him the issue is we had previously chatted a lot of shit about this guy and kind of openly despised him for being an annoying twat she then started the new friend yeah the new friend's new boy yeah she then started distancing herself from us and making starky comments a couple months later we talk even less and she started regressing talking in the strange voice and loving my little pony a bit too much she's also been driven around by this guy a lot how should we be how should we reach out and stop whatever's happening or has she already dissented her friends instead of favor of this pale annoying cis man yeah i mean if you like her enough like you just have to let her go through it and be there in case anything goes horribly wrong and then like maybe you'll like make closer friends again at some point and be able to laugh about this time one deep i agree and then also like not to deep it and i hope this like maybe i'm the two woke friend but if she's talking like a baby voice apparently that does mean if she's that autistic that she's comfortable in the relationship apparently when people like when couples start regressing into like their own dialect or like baby voice it means that you're actually comfortable so maybe she's actually kind of living yeah it's cringy um yeah no that's fine um it's cringy no actually it's fine um well what was that thing that you were sort of reading the other day you were talking about a writer who's sort of talking about um like shantay joseph who wrote my is my boyfriend embarrassing and now this other diva but but they've started writing about like when you get to your 30s the friends that were like you were constant with in like your early 20s are like no longer there and i feel like that is something that's happened this year for myself and though it sounds like it's like i think it happens to a lot of people especially when you're like i think it's good or okay to like let them go and trust the process that like they might come back to you but also like if they didn't you know what's not for you isn't for you or whatever the phrase is.
57:39Yeah, I feel like the process of trying to like address this could make people say things that you can't come back from whereas I think if you just let it kind of happen then friendships can be rekindled in a really beautiful way.
57:52Maisie Williams:And at least you've still got two musketeers left. Yeah. What about your other part? Have you thought about falling in love? They could fall in love couldn't they? Yeah, find yourself your own little balding twink. Yeah. Also calling a straight person twink is not fierce. Yeah, sorry. I actually wanted to say it as well but I didn't want to be the two work friend. Yeah. Next one. So can we have this a non-please love you honeys? I get so annoyed with my housemates but they are low-key clean and keep to themselves. Just a huge difference in lifestyle like gamer girl vibe, no job, etc. And I really feel like the location of the flat in my room.
58:25Maisie Williams:The what? Oh, and I really like the location of the flat in my room. Feel torn whether I should move out and maybe cop a more expensive place or keep suffering the bad vibes. i mean i mean how much does it bother you i feel like listen i don't know you but i feel like maybe this is an opportunity like i just think something's life you just encounter lots of people that aren't like a great vibe and i think that you can just grow from going through that maybe look for what you want from them yeah somewhere else like except that thing but then the stuff that you're not getting from them yeah find finding in another community.
59:05Maisie Williams:Also, I used to, my only thing was, in my old house, I used to, we had like a new build, but do you know what new builds are like, plaster, like the walls are like basically see-through. And so like, you could hear everything. So shout out James, because no one will be listening, but like the house was so loud. And I used to, which was absolutely insane, to like sort it out, I used to play white noise at Max on my laptop. Like the loudest white noise, like Bill can remember when we started dating, it was so loud. It was like being in an airplane. Trust me, it's like a plane is taking off. That is not an exaggeration.
59:34Maisie Williams:It's so loud. Well, it's fierce because you can't hear your friend playing on games. Whereas James would play PS4 late at night and I wouldn't hear it. Or he'd be playing guitar and I wouldn't hear it because all I'd hear is... All night. Is that what she means? Like, oh, they're staying up too late and they're loud. Maybe. Or is it the fact that they're always in the house? Like, it is nice to be alone, isn't it? Right, right, right. I'll say this, actually. This is a good... Someone who we've lived together as friends is actually... uh our friendship i think is so much stronger since we haven't lived together that i think if you're looking for this like companionship and like making great memories with the people you live with it's not that deep actually and you might not find it there because we we had we hang out we have more quality time now that we don't live together yeah then we did when we lived together even though we'd see each other all the time and so therefore maybe it's okay to just like treat your housemates as housemates.
1:00:32Maisie Williams:Still have a nice time, I hope. And like, don't get me wrong, there is a world in which we'd all love to feel like we're in an episode of Friends, but like... That sounds like a nightmare. Really? Yeah, I mean, yeah. It depends how old you are as well, though. You do want to do it at some point. Canned laughter. Ew. I've never watched Friends. And I'm okay with that, I think. No, I mean, that's... It's not your... I've never seen it. Who? Who? It's millennial, isn't it? Um, it's not your thing. Espolon Tequila. Balanced. 1:01:54Maisie Williams:No, I'm not going to say that. That's such a Monica thing to say. Oh, girl. Do I continue to be a stoner or no? It doesn't make me feel mega lazy, but it is childish of me, lol. Stop. Stop. Yeah, just stop. It's just like... Stop. It can be like a fun thing as like a little sweet treat. But I just think doing it all the time and it just like makes you... What's that bit from the Frank Ocean album? Stupid, lazy, unconcerned. Yeah. It's true. Oh, yeah.
