In short
The hosts reflect on what it’s like to live together (and travel together), focusing on ADHD/autism traits, relationship dynamics, and communication during stressful moments; they also debate tech/AI (ChatGPT), music nostalgia (2016), and “no-skip” albums.
Guests
No external guests appear. The episode features three people in the conversation: Sue, Bill, and Louis (the hosts/participants). They discuss Bill’s acting/performance background and Sue’s recent recovery from bowel cancer; Louis is portrayed as a close partner/friend in the household.
Key claims
Living together is “simultaneously the best but not the most sustainable thing,” and they’re “too similar” mentally. They bond by “bullying” each other playfully. ChatGPT is useful for some tasks (taxes) but they avoid it for writing/therapy because it reduces agency. 2016 is argued as a peak music year.
Notable examples
A fish pasta dinner where Sue eats only two bites due to autism/overwhelm; a near “snapping” moment after Bill returns home; TikTok watching on double speed; debates over Rihanna Anti vs Lady Gaga; and a “no-skip” album pitch for Jessie J’s Who You Are.

Storm has zero sugar and 200 milligrams of caffeine So you can turn that workout up a notch Good energy in, good energy out Energy for life Check Billy's humping at us at the window Bill's humping at us Which I think is really rude considering I have bowel cancer I just did a really stinky fart That's a rank, mate Really sorry It's been slipping out a lot Yeah As you can tell, it's our last morning together. I got to drive my new car. I bought a new car. But I didn't. I didn't buy it. Sue's got a new car. Yeah. Very exciting. So I got to drive that today.
1:12Sue and Bill are very kindly driving me back to the Inverness airport, which is three hours away. And that's okay. So I got to drive. I'm doing it without any ADHD meds because I've run out of the ones I've been kindly gifted by a wonderful person. Oh, really? Your stash has run out? I'm running low, yeah. So I want to save them for like days where I need to lock in. I think for the drive, you'll naturally be like, fuck, I'm driving. Yeah. I think it's more for like boring shit. Like I passed the driving nerves and I'm just like, oh, more of a task now than nerves. Well, I'll be there with you every step of the way.
1:46You better be turning it out on that hook so I'm not playing any of your weird shit. Well, last time I played some shit, it literally sent the car into overdrive and it died. Yeah, so hopefully that won't happen to you Hopefully that won't happen, I might actually just relieve my duties How How are you? How have I done? How's my performance been on the holiday? It's been good, my beautiful boyfriend Bill went away because he had an audition and so we were left in the house I think we did alright, I nearly snapped yesterday didn't I I think Bill just asked us this morning and he said, how's your holiday been together?
2:20I think it's been really good It's been great, I've laughed a lot so much. Last night, what happened, what happened was, Bill came home. I was very excited for Bill to come home. I was literally like a dog. Like a lost dog. Yeah, waiting at the door. I was literally just waiting at the door. You had a coat on. Oh, I love him. You had a coat on for about an hour just to walk out and get the shopping. And I like tidied the whole house. It was like fierce. And he comes through the door and then, basically, we'll get around to Louis making me lunch. But basically, I didn't eat the lunch Louis provided.
2:48Spoiler. Spoiler. And then, they were both just like proceeded to say like, yeah, it's because she's like she's like a little child isn't she and i was just like a little child i will box both of you in the fucking head mate little child little child clean old fucking house and then i was like i've got to leave i've got to do better i deserve better than this um and then i was like and then i went really silent for a long time and then i was like i calmed down and i was like oh it's actually fine it was because um me and bill are you know bonding yeah and a way in which we've found out it's good to do that is by bullying you you know girls you'll get this right girls guys gays whatever you've got three friends right they're close but they're not as close as you two are to each other if that makes sense like i'm as close i'm closer to louis as i'm closer to bill yeah whereas like lou and bill are bonding yeah and uh and because of their bonding how that yeah how they're figuring out is getting me I'm gonna hold my hands up I've been accused of this before and it's a hover ball it's horrible it's not horrible it's just like it's fine for ages and I'm like you're wearing a bitch out because I can tell you being read but just like yesterday I was like I'm tired tiny bit drunk but why don't we tell them what we were bullying you about what we were bullying you about oh yeah okay so yesterday I'll tell my side and then you tell yours yesterday I had two calls fair dues two calls ain't a lot but like i'm tired up here i can't really describe what's going on i've just got over ball cancer um and basically i we were talking about we basically had nothing in because uh we need to go to shops but the car broke so we got to find your car etc etc etc so we hadn't had to go to the shop and bill was going in the evening but he was about to the evening so then we were like okay it's gonna be tea we've got some stuff in we'll probably have some like dolmio type shit and then lou was like we can make some fish pasta i was like absolutely like would love that like i do like fish pasta so anyway i proceed to go and have a call with shu oh i go on oh i think by the time this comes out that'll be happening it's not a surprise but i'm like talking to like companies and stuff like that and i'm like i start feeling a bit like it's like two o 'clock my blood sugar's gone right so louis and whilst this happening louis been like making a wonderful lunch like genuinely a wonderful lunch like it looks so yummy so scrummy like really really good quality fish like really good garlic your pasta like gorgeous and then he He says, I come off the call and I'm a bit weird.
5:15I'm being a bit weird. And I do know I'm being a bit weird. And then just the autism kicks in and I just have two bites. And I'm like, what did I say? He said, Louis, love you. But I think I'm going to have some noodles.
5:32It was just so intense and so tasty. I was like, I am. It was just too tasty. No, it was. It was like, do you know what? Like such intense flavors, such rich flavors. Like fish, it was a really good quality fish. So it was like, you know, like sardinian. So it was like, it was so sardinian and it was so tomato-y. And I was literally like, I just want chicken noodles, the six to three ones from Tesco. Well, Bill said that, actually, and you disagreed with this because you were like, we've done fish pasta before. And we have. But Bill was like, you fucked up doing fish pasta. Yeah, yeah, probably.
6:03I mean, now I'm kind of learning. I've definitely eaten it before, but that one was really quality fish pasta. And I was like, oh. So yeah, I slaved away at the stove. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whilst I was just shouting on a call. And I was talking to HMRC as well because I was doing my tax. And he wasn't showing up right and had to call up tax. So I think I was just, I was being like annoyingly like... I do get... So basically how Bill described that we get today is he says we're both like this. We both like go... We're clearly both ADHD. Let's be real. I know like maybe you haven't done your diagnosis thing.
6:38but you think I am yeah I think you are but like I think we go in waves where like one of us could be like stimming and any other one can be stimming sometimes we catch each other in flow state which is for this podcast where like we both stim and it's like as the best and it's the best thing in the world but there are times through living with you for like four or five days where you catch each other one person will be stimming the other person will not be in the mood and so that's the times where you go out for a run or I go really silent and have a face
7:08I did like the Noodles thing Because I said to you It like proved That we're close enough That you feel like You can communicate honestly Which I do And I do love you so much And like I've actually had the best time Like I've had the best time But that being said What can I do better? I don't think you can What's it like What's it like when When you feel low And I'm feeling hyper But I know when I'm feeling low that I'm the problem. You're not the problem. I'm the problem, if that makes sense. So if you're sat there stimming, that's not a me issue. Like, no, that's not a you issue. That's a me issue.
7:44Yeah. That I'm not on that level. So I just sit there and take it. Like, what can I do? Yeah, there was a time where I was just sat on my laptop and you were just like,
7:55and I was just like, work. Because you can't do anything. It's like, okay. But similarly, I know that there's like, I'm up there getting up and doing crumping do you know what I mean and everyone's just like no I love the crumping it's the it's quite good wasn't it it's the watching TikToks about abuse cases on double speed that I can't handle oh actually no that's fine it's comedy TikToks on double speed yeah yeah it's crazy well because my TikTok is just like girlies from Atlanta chatting shit and it's far and like from Miami so it's just like Miami girls shooting a shit on double speed so it's like and I'm just there like Study and play.

9:32What can I improve on? Nothing, I think we're just, I think you're right, I think we're too similar to live with each other. It's been great. Yeah, it's been great. But I also said that as soon as I leave you guys at the airport I will miss you. Yeah. Like it is, it's almost like, imagine how I like, you know, a massive band describe being like on tour with each other. It's like, it's simultaneously the best but also not the most sustainable thing in the world. yeah I think it's too good yeah it's too good yeah I think it is like so this is how we reveal that we need we need boring people to hang out with basically or we just need people who are actually mentally ill comfortable in their own skin yeah so we need Bill I think that we need this is basically us admitting that we probably won't be doing a content house yeah or we could do but for temporary also I'm not moving into Bills and you're not moving out of Bills anytime soon that's true but it would be funny it would be funny I don't think that's the way I don't think us living with each other would make us like we haven't been like let's make a billion TikToks yeah it's interesting I was actually thinking about that which is good I quite like we should have made more TikToks yeah us being together but even me being here like I'm like I'm literally just chilling I should like probably do more I am going to do more but it's a win-win because anytime we make content it's like oh good we've done that and anytime we don't it's like oh our relationship isn't just about making content yeah exactly so we're winning um but you watch tiktoks very loudly and on double speed and it just makes me worried a bit um my brain is rotted i can't lie uh anything else i think i've just seen maybe before where i was like sue's adhd sue's potentially autistic in some ways and perhaps i was like eh i don't know perhaps i'm starting to see it more yeah because there's just less there's less of us to hide now yeah i think it is that thing isn't it where it's like because i cringe a lot of the time especially when i like dip in energy i it makes me cringe i think so when i'm like in a bad mood i'm not in a bad mood because of anyone but then i'm in an even worse mood because i'm like fucking hell sue like yeah stand up and so i think that's kind of been like the nice thing of just being like yeah lads i've got my face on i'm just gonna have to like lead through well eventually like especially last night craig came around shout out craig and we um and i was in such to my mood and then when Craig came around I was like okay great because I just need like I just need like there's nothing wrong I just need to come on myself out yeah I will say that either you're an absolute joy like you're very joy you're um you're one of the most mourning people I've ever met in my life it's like my favorite thing in the whole world morning in my house morning in my house is pretty like everyone's great but everyone's it takes a while to warm up into there you and bill are like fucking when me and bill first got together bill is a morning person i'm like open my eyes i'm singing person it's mental so we still have i literally don't know either but like i i i my my but bill is like bill is a morning person but he takes a second to wake up and then if he's not on my level i'm like up you get and he's like so you're gonna have to leave me alone do you know what i mean but i don't know what it is i just think i like yeah i just like it gets me off when i go to bed i'm like i can't believe i'm gonna wake up tomorrow and have a morning coffee and that's sick that's such a nice uh yeah and then like the rest of the day is just like this it's like i wake up like this and then it's just like a constant that is something that like a clinically depressed person tells themselves though to like get through each day yeah i think it's kind of like i think i must have maybe even as a kid in a dark time yeah just be like oh well coffee next day and there's going to be a coffee it's great it's a great point and you know i actually have enjoyed here is like not actually going to a coffee shop every day and like making our own coffee wasting my money on you fucking plunging idiot but pavilion I'm coming back baby pavilion pavilion um what about weird things anything you've noticed about living with me or like little tics no we actually do you know I actually I actually thought about yesterday is obviously we'll end up doing this again but one day maybe with you and a partner I wonder what that would be like uh oh because then it would just be like them and I assume her her and Bill just like here were these two and we're just like this.
13:47Yeah, it would actually be good. Yeah. It would be good to share the load of me with someone else. No, it would be fun. It's one of the... I mean, I'm a pretty good third wheeler, as you know. Well, actually, am I? I thought I was. No, but you are. Because also, the way I see me and Bill is not like me and Bill together and you're there. Like, I do see us as all like... Because I knew you before, Bill. Yeah. Well, kind of like similar time as Bill. And then Bill met you separately. So I feel like we all just are separate. I could leave you and Bill alone in the house and you'd be fine. Do you know what I mean?
14:19Just as much. So I don't know. I kind of don't see it as third wheeling, personally. Just like sometimes me and Bill are kissing and it's weird. Yeah, but I usually make a joke about it to kind of... Or you bicker. And I make it into a bigger deal than it is. Yeah.
14:36But no, when I have a lovely partner, not through first dates. I've just decided I'm not going to do first dates. That's okay. I think that's probably smart, just for your international rise. Thank you to George from the casting agency who reached out to me. Yeah. But I'm a bit scared of going on first dates, I think. And I think also, there was a guy that went on from CSM and granted he was a prick, but I don't think he was as much of a prick as they edited him to be. I don't think he was as much of a prick as you. No, no, no, as they edited him to be. Like, he was a proper wank bag in the end.
15:06But, like, I'm just like, they can just edit you like that and then that's just kind of like you. Yeah. Blame it on the edit, girl. Blame it on the edit. But when I do decide to settle down, I guess holidays like this will be better, but I'm quite a comfortable third wheeler. Yeah, I've not felt anybody has been uncomfortable or whatever. What do you think the qualities of my future partner should be? Apart from that they're an absolute badders. Yeah, badders, coke bottle body. Apple bottom jeans. Apple bottom jeans Boots with the fur With fur What do you think I'll want And what do you think I need What do you think I should I don't think you necessarily need I think you need someone Who's probably not got ADHD Like you got ADHD Yeah Or necessarily It's not even a Because me and Bill are different Because Bill's obviously an actor Like So he's a performer But he's Like we're different Like he's He's not even quiet He's just like Together He doesn't need the limelight like we do.
16:11Yeah. So I think you need, maybe you might need someone like that. Someone who doesn't need the limelight. Yeah. But also, I do, I do want someone who's kind of creative and a laugh. Yeah, but you can't, there's so many people like that. Yeah, there's so many, I mean, there's people in the limelight that don't need the limelight. Yeah. They just don't. Yeah. Whereas like, we've obviously chased this. We obviously, yeah. We chase every day. We have no meaning without it, really. But I think maybe you need, I don't know, just someone who's kind to you. I think you are a very kind and wonderful person.
16:42I think you just need someone to like do the same. That's it really. I can't imagine you as someone who'd be a bit like oppity at all. I think you really need someone who's like down to earth. I know there's a bunch of like Chinese and gays watching this being like that's me. And I love you. But I think that I love you too. And I love you. Yeah. But Louis ain't gay. But I think you need someone who's like I don't know. Yeah just actually actually down to earth I think it'd be really just also because I think it just wouldn't fit with your life your friends and like our life and our friends together like and everyone that we know I think if someone was quite uppity and like you know sat there like like we'd all be a bit like girl do you think I actually don't think you need a private school diva oh absolutely not yeah in fact if anything I've kind of almost looked to get away from that but then you start deeping that and you're like is that weird?
17:41I know what you mean. But, no, it's not that you don't need one. Maybe you can have one. I think it's more just like the raw, where's my backy girls? Oh, absolutely not. Yeah. Did all your mates go private school? Like, everyone in your band? Three. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, damn. She doesn't give private school though? No. Fierce. But she's a girl. Yeah. Maxima Violinus didn't. Fierce. Me and my, accomplice who can't be named because he's a freak. I think... We're just another private school band with one violinist who didn't go to private schools from Barnard. So technically you're not. Yeah. No one in my band went to private school.
18:25That's good. We're just working class heroes. Shout out to James. Shout out to Dan. No, I'd like to think that future baddie will be at the very least like not a kind of completely detached sheltered person and at best will be a person with an experience different to mine I think that's quite hot but I think also just like funny that they basically don't need to crucially yeah crucially to know how to cut up did you think Bill was gonna be oh sorry did you think does Bill fit your mould I mean yeah Bill was everything that I once dreamed of and I just started getting with drug addicts and said who were funny.
19:09What was it that you dreamed of about you seeing Bill? I think Bill's really fit. I think he's really kind and I think he's... Say it again. And he's just really patient and loving. And also Bill's got more fit as he's got old. I know. And I can't tell if it's just his short hair now. I know, I agree. And his awful hair back then. Because the thing he's got very thick hair. His buzz has absolutely langed him out. And he's just lost on FIFA. He's just... I just sighed Did you lose? Oh I mustn't forget My Playstation controller Did you lose? I can't hear us Kind of Oh I love him Did you think you'd be With a kind of A prick Like no A A performer A creative I did honestly I think about this conversation I had with Curtis Smith And Max At school A Londoner When I was like four Year four Sorry No no no Yes Yeah probably and I remember we were like and when we all grew up and we have girlfriends and stuff and I remember even in year four being like I'm not going to have a girlfriend let's wake that up and I suppose yeah I suppose I think when I started like partying and stuff I was like where the fuck am I going to end up but I'm really glad like I can't I think every day I'm extremely lucky I've ended up here I don't really know how that happened it was a stream of events but I'm just glad I met Bill and I'm glad I met Bill at the time that we both met each other I think we wouldn't have got on if we were younger I think In your fashion party era.
20:34My fashion party era, him and his quiff era. And we wouldn't have probably got on. Maybe we would have got on when we were like teenagers, but more like, would we? I don't know. I mean, he was booked and busy, so. A friend said to me recently that he was like, I think it would be hard for you to meet and settle down with someone right now because your sense of self-worth, at least from social media or this or whatever, is like increasing quite a lot. Yeah. It's hard to like. Meet someone there. Meet someone. But like, I guess you're in exactly that position. But I think what was good about me and Bill is I think Bill's done seeing it all.
21:14And so I think, especially when I first started getting with Bill, I remember that it was the first time that someone came up to me in a pub and asked for a photo. And then simultaneously, so I'm from and I've told this story. And then they all start taking photos of me. Did I tell you that? Basically. When, and yeah, we cited Charlie XCX going like I see you yeah yeah it was very like that I see you and that made me very uncomfortable but it was good to like be able to go to Bill whose people have been asking to get photos with him since he was 12 years old so it's nice do you know they're the real freaks it's like you know but like I but it was like good to like be able to like bring it to somebody who can get it or like or get the one like get it And get like the want to want something bigger.
22:03And also to be with someone who has had bigger. And has bigger. As in like career and like. Yeah. About inches, mate. No. As in like, you know, you've got to get with. I remember once my friend America, I remember saying I was going on a date with Bill. And if I'm in truth, I was quite intimidated. Was it? Good place to be. Good place to be. And she was like, well, America was like, you need to date someone who you're intimidated by because. they're somebody that you're intimidated for a reason, not intimidated because he's scary he's like the most kindest but like intimidated because he's like together and he's good and he's an actor and he's talented at what he does he's a high value alpha male and he's a high value alpha male and he's like fit and stuff, he's very easy to but it's very easy to date someone who's like you know, I think a lot of I mean girlies will get it, like you start dating people who are like lower than you just because you think you can control it but then ultimately you can't control it, it's even worse and so like I don't know yeah for that the first three months dating bill it was like incredibly not uncomfortable on my end but like I was definitely like acting not acting but I was definitely like no you'd always do that and when you really fancy someone yeah I was holding it together like I think I didn't chill out you're giving the very best version of yourself yeah and it's quite funny how it's just widely accepted and fine that that kind of gradually slips away when you find the right person they'll have time and be patient with you and I did so what now is it the same for you 100 % be the same for me I fucking hope there was a Dazed article recently with the headline 10 photographers you need to know yeah no it was about Dazed actually can you actually start featuring us soon I'm just going to start asking okay Dazed like I think it's time we had like a feature or if I'm thinking like a fuck boy yeah don't know why I'd do that I do want the cover of Dazed we go elsewhere and then come back to Dazed I think we will get the cover of Dazed I can actually 100 % feel that I'm actually that's a manifestation like that how far off are we a year a year?
24:13yeah I think this year could possibly wow okay I'm down I love you Dazed let's go please I think if we did like a really cool cool like a cool like like like cover shoot yeah I'm thinking like cover shoot well do you know when they do those cover shoots for like upcoming people and everyone has like 4 ,000 followers it's like well hello I know the face do that but the dazed yeah dazed do that do you remember they put all the rappers on the cover chai cartier was on the cover it was like was it chai chai cartier and like four other rappers on the cover or upcoming rappers and then they did one in the US one with loads of trans people to be honest I'm not even that plugged into dazed why don't you just do podcasters but then only include us ask jessie where Maybe James Acaster Fine James Acaster On the cover of Dazed We love you Dazed We're us on the cover of Dazed Why not No I'm down I just Twigs got the cover of ID When she had like She was nobody She hadn't even signed a deal Or she was just about to sign a deal She hadn't had any music out Okay I think it's very like Let's go I'm with you Yeah I'd like that So good So good So good New markdowns Up to 70 % off Are at Nordstrom Rack stores now Stock up and stay big on shoes, tops, dresses, accessories, and more must-haves for summer.

It's the number one OBGYN recommended brand of emergency contraception and it won't impact your future fertility.
26:10That's Freedom the B. Use as directed. I wouldn't have said it first, but you've said it and now I'm with you. And that's how beautiful it is. I just think every time we've asked for something, we get it. As in like... I want it now. Manifestation. I'm reading a book on manifestation and it says like you have to just like know that you're going to have it. I want it. I got it. I want it. I got it. Just bought it. Yeah, I think we can do it. Sorry. There was a dazed headline that said new relationship deal breaker is someone having chat GPT the app on their phone. And I wanted to ask, I thought it was an interesting discussion.
26:52it opened up a debate which I mentioned to you earlier which was that would you rather do you see yourself dating someone more that has chat GPT or that is religious now you pretty confidently answered one way what did I say you said chat GPT because I'm not going to date someone religious because I'm trans and then I was like Buddhist no yeah I'm spiritual I am religious I'm not religious than Bill I think no it's competition yeah fuck you Bill but like he's I think chat GPT I've never I've actually never used it in truth I've never logged on really oh my god I've never used it like I'm like really I'm not one of those anti-AIs that's like fuck AI but I am very cautious of like the only AI I do use is if I type it on Google and it like summarises to Google so it says that's the only AI I use because I don't write like if I want to write something I'll just write it like I'm not and also my brain's so fucked by just playing two time TikTok so I'm like let's not fuck it more yeah I have to keep it somehow I just there's no need when someone's like, write a ChatGBT email.
27:53I'm like, did your mom never teach you how to write an email? It's not hard to write an email, in my opinion. And if not, I'll just ask my mom. And we use our brains. And does Bill ever use it? Bill has used it. We've had conversations about it. But it will be like... Yeah, and people around me use it. I got sent a plan for my taxes by a friend. And he used ChatGBT. That's great. And it works for certain things. I literally just don't use it. there's no need for me to use it so I never use it and it doesn't make me feel a bit better about like myself yeah and it's not that I'm even against it like love AI please don't kill me but like but yeah I just don't use it so when people talk to it about therapy I'm like girls books exist like you are chopped man with your book therapy is actually one I weirdly don't is that the you asked that question though like for days doing Foxbox oh yeah would you use chat TPT for therapy oh yeah I did that on days I did that whole thing And I bumped into you On the street Oh my god that was fun And Angel McQueen was there Yeah She was with Belle Belle didn't do the video Which is annoying Maxim didn't But I don't mind people Using it for therapy as much Celeste was there as well But I didn't go We didn't go obsessed With that We'll lose Celeste Just one day in Soho In 2025 Love Celeste God bless her Who?
29:10Did you see that She wrote on the Justin Bieber song And they didn't credit her No She wrote the whole song Do you know the Justin Bieber Bacar song? On Swag I think it's Swag 2 oh it's on Swag 2 yeah yeah she wrote it and so she put like four stories on good for you Celeste babe why is Bacar still about have you seen how many streams he's got it's like a billion streams there's something icky and cringy about the idea of someone it's about the lack of agency someone has or control about their own life it's like I'm just going to use chat GPT for everything I guess it's like almost the same as like it's no it's worse than being addicted to TikTok.
29:50It's like you're a little baby. The thing is, everything is a choice. Like we have, like we were born, especially like our generation, like obviously we're Gen Z, but we're like on the top end of Gen Z, like we're 27. Top, top, top, top, top, top. And like we were born into a world where that didn't exist and you did have to Google. And even if we did have the internet, you then have to Google, then cite sources, then preview sources, et cetera, et cetera. And so you might as well have just done it yourself or hit up books. I remember like when my studies were happening at school, like it was like you could cite books or cite things and you would cite books you know um my thing with that is like i understand if you're like born into it and like the younger like gen z like the 18 year olds now like fair dues you've spent your whole life and it's kind of been there but i think without us like it's an active choice like we actively choosing to do this thing in which that yes is easier but then is it like and you also might not get the most accurate question if you go because i look i google us let's be right i google myself i love it um and i google straight diva and if you go on it like it's all correct until it gets to the end it's like episodes like and then it starts quoting it starts saying that we're the jamie lang show saying that we have these guests that jamie lang sat on so it's like it's like lauren lyle paul black and then it starts yeah and then it starts saying people like that so i'm like it's not 100 accurate at the minute like and that's fine but i think yeah i'm active like why would i actively choose to do something that i know how to do i just need to do it like i bitch i'm a lazy bitch i'm lazy like i do know that like i like i won't do something until i have to do it but when i do it i'll do it like that's the point of being alive no yeah and if i don't want to write i think i found myself in like a situation where like my job is like my job and i love it very much but if i need to do something i have to get up and do it like because I love my job so why would I chat GPT like a letter to a lawyer or like a fake lawyer I have a lawyer so I can just write to my lawyer and sort that out why would I do a fake lawyer letter to send someone I can get a real lawyer letter from my lawyer I don't even mind it in that situation like I used it the other day for figuring out what the fuck we're meant to be doing with our taxes yeah fine still you just get an accountant like that's why I'm not stressed about it but you're gonna have to pay for an accountant at some point yeah Sue's had a bit of a I've had a bit of a journey but I don't have to pay for an accountant but what about if they were very helpful what about if a guy what about if Bill yeah you and Bill got on a tiff and Bill sends an apology and then suddenly you spot a double hyphen double hyphen and three bullet points I'd be very upset with comparative linking words I'd also be very upset they sent me such an essay it was an apology and I'm like I'm literally in the next room
32:37yeah I would be upset I remember when Lady Gaga came back with Mayhem and then she wrote about her partner and it was chat CBT because it had a double hyphen and no one was calling it out how do we know double hyphen is always because who uses a double hyphen anyway me all the time a double hyphen no I don't I was going to say I think yeah I yeah I think for shit like that I'm like if you're unable to like convey your feelings like you have we're cooked and I feel like I actively chose to go on TikTok make it my career in a way that's great but I do feel like I've rotted my brain in a certain way and so if I can actively choose to like keep I'm not being like a martyr about it if you don't want to do it then kind of like well done but like I yeah I don't know you can like I'm not anti-AI either I think it's very helpful in certain ways but it's the same thing right we had a conversation about this it's a very famous kind of famous he had a few hits he had a song with Kanye West back in the day and he's now a songwriter have I told you this?
33:40don't know keep going oh yeah he's a songwriter don't say his name he's a songwriter now don't say his name and I was in a session the other day with somebody else and he was saying that like the rumour is that this person is going into sessions and AI in like the loops and stuff so just typing in what loop they kind of feel and then is like throwing ai loops in but they kind of glitched so they're not actually good enough but then it just he's like an older guy and apparently like ai and music is used by kind of like the older guys at the minute because i think what's happening is they've done music for so long they're so fucking uninspired and kind of just need to retire but they want to keep up with the younger ones that are like making in an in it a beat uh interesting and i think it's just like sometimes you just admit that you cooked or stop or like it's a death of art in my opinion yeah in fairness that person also just hasn't really done a thing he's a big songwriter really which then makes me question everyone he works with like in the past 10 years though if anything over the past couple of years really but he was in a session with I'll tell you after okay but yeah like it's very disheartening to hear that because I was going to ask him to work like people take up his people but I'm not going to follow the podcast yeah he follows us and he follows me as well um yeah just take control back of your life it's part of yeah it's part of the joy of life i think there's something that you give up i think when you do it in my opinion like i think there's something that i understand for the people that haven't given anything up because they never had it perhaps but i think there's something worth holding on to which is very special just as much as like try everyone's saying that like you know wired headphones come back in and like you know analogs going to come back in etc i think it will eventually start being cooler to be like anti-ai there's going to be an influx of that i feel like it already is yeah already happening and i feel like when that starts properly happening i mean even with like the younger kids are like even like all like the like the soundcloud divas like they're all shooting stuff on iphone 5s and stuff like people long for like older shit because it's more real like so and that's a perfect segue into um with something we haven't spoken about.
35:50But it's the 2016 fucking wankathon. How do you feel about it? It's strange because for years I've always been like, 2016 was the best year for music. Like, Muramasa, that whole time being in London. Muramasa is the first name you're going to come out with? 2016 Muramasa. With his fucking xylophones. Bloom, bloom, bloom, bloom, bloom, bloom, bloom, bloom, bloom. The aesthetic. Everyone gets it. Everyone gets it. I don't get it. I know because you're posh he's posh yeah I know but like that whole like aesthetic and everyone was in like oh and Charlotte XCX was dancing it was only one night in a school hall it was fierce that whole aesthetic was fierce anyway sorry agree to disagree on Muramasa but like that whole like 2016 I love 2016 I did have a brilliant time in 2016 I think what I realised looking back is I was like oh that's cool as fuck I'm way ahead of my time crazy I know but I don't understand who started the trend I don't really know what's happening well it's been bubbling as you say for ages it's like oh fucking remember when it was Love Island and the Euros and fucking Frank Ocean and Kanye West and Drizzy Drake um or whatever but it was the same time as like Shamir as well Shamir, Leif, Khalifa Arca was in a prime Shamir was on Excel Khalifa was on Excel and Noni was on Excel with Hudson Melhort produced.
37:16A crazy time. But am I taking it too seriously and getting too butthurt? That was the best year for music, I'm sorry. Ratchet by Shamir came out. It's every new year is the best year for music. Come on. Hi, hi, haddy, hi, hi, hi. It's always getting better. I love Shamir. It probably wasn't better in 2016. We're just remembering all the good parts and everything gets better with time and you don't really know how good something is until it's like five years. And then it's like, oh, that was a classic. Yeah. and you know it's all very well you posting pictures of when you were a little bit portlier or you had a funny haircut um actually shout out i told you already shout out to lapsley's 2016 yeah exactly lapsley was on excel um nice nice sincere post um oh god i was so jealous for those cunts but i just i don't want to beat a dead horse yeah crazy i don't want to beat a dead horse guys but it might just be like it might not even be better now but i just feel like endless nostalgia let's just be the death of us i mean it will be the death of us but we have to rock with it rock with you we also spoke about speaking of 2016 we spoke about uh rihanna uh anti last night which we also disagree on yeah and i'm definitely in the minority which i don't think it's a great album.
38:38Whereas me and Bill think it might be one of the best albums ever. And most people do. Because we originally started saying who's better, Lady Gaga or Rihanna. Which is the real... And the conclusion is, unfortunately, not unfortunately, but I know that there'll be some girlies that are going to cry about this. The real answer is Lady Gaga. Like, Lady Gaga was more famous than Rihanna. Then people are like, well, Rihanna's rich. I'm like, well, yeah. But I think music-wise, Lady Gaga was the most famous person on the planet. Everything she did, everyone was like, whoa. But... It depends what you...
39:07Depends what you value more. Bill then said, I know, but Lady Gaga didn't do Ante. And he's correct. But then Rihanna didn't do art pop. So it's a real... And then we're pitting women against each other and actually they're both amazing. And they're both amazing and they're both saved my life. And Ante isn't as good as the Fade Monster.
39:28No, they do very different things. I think Ante's more futuristic, but I think Fade Monster is a better pop album, in my opinion, yeah. But... I don't want no paper gangster. Brown eyes. But then we were going through, I think, a really, where Rihanna has the edge. Yeah, she probably has more hits. Hits. Yeah. Singles. Yeah. I mean, Ant came out, what, like, ten years ago? It's just endless. She's just, like, if you go on her This Is Rihanna playlist on Spotify, it's just stacked. Yeah, it's stacked, but then I also don't listen to her albums. Whereas I listen to Beyonce. Not Beyonce. I love Beyonce as well.

40:03I listen to Lady Gaga's albums more than listen to Rihanna albums but I listen to Rihanna singles probably more than Lady Gaga. Well, because Rihanna has quite a lot of filler. It's the highs and lows of each album are more significant. Yeah, whereas I feel like Lady Gaga was that time. Do you know who actually has unskippable albums and I want to prove it to you and play it in the car today on the way back today? Please do. Kesha. Kesha's first three albums. No, Skip. I only know the first one. Hit. Just bangers. Do you know what is a No Skip album the best album of all time? Do I know what's a no-skip album?
40:35The best album of all time? Yeah. Jesse J. Who you are, exactly. Thank you. When that came out, every single... We sweat too much time together. Every single. What's also sad is that we were having this conversation last night and I was like, is it sad that I wish me and Sue just had a really nice, fun debate and conversation and I wish we filmed it? Yeah, and then this is it. I could actually do it in this. I might do a TikTok after and do my pitchfork perfect 10. when they're in the white room. My Perfect Ten is Jessie J Who You Are. My Perfect Ten is this album that you've probably never heard of.
41:11Yeah, it's Jessie J Who You Are. Every song's a hit. Produced by some great producers. She came in the game swinging. She went from supporting the Sugar Babes to number one singles. FK Twigs is her backing dancer. Greatness supports greatness. Jessie J, hit, hit, hit. My Perfect Ten is Thriller by Michael Jackson, but my publicist told me that Pitchfork wanted to do My Perfect Time with me yesterday. So I knew I couldn't say Thriller by Michael Jackson because that would be too predictable. So I picked this soundtrack from a noir film from Japan in the 80s, which I actually discovered last week from my friend who's cooler than me.

42:52Seriously, though, it's like 10 past 11. It's at 4.05. So what time are we setting off? I thought we were setting off at 11.30 and it's 11.09 right now okay great should we do final five yeah yeah um been waiting for that sunshine suck my dick and it tastes like crack no one ain't like crack nobody gonna do it like crack so uh argue with you yeah why don't you like geese why don't I like geese um
43:25why don't I like geese I don't like geese well it's not even that I don't like geese I think they're really nice boys and I would like to like them it's just that music just doesn't and girl and person I just think don't believe the hype I just can't get into it I'm sorry the musically I just like think okay like I probably listen to it loads of is it wailing or is it like no I like shit like that I really do like music like that it's just I just it just doesn't move me I just listen to it and I'm like what are you saying and I even went that song about feeling the love in the car or something like that and everyone's like, God, I cried at this.
43:57I'm like, guys, listen to Adele. Not there's a bomb in my car. No, it's like, something about love and it's like you can fill all your love in the car. Like a sailor in a big green boat? I don't fucking know. They all sound awful. Yeah. We were enjoying love without buildings though. If I lose you, if I lose you, if I lose you, if I lose you. I put you, I got to cuckoo, I got to cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo. And it's life without buildings, my love. What did I say? Love without buildings? Life Without Buildings I'll come back after 24 years I love them Their first album This Town I think it's called This Town Or maybe it sounds called This Town It's come And I spent£80 on two tickets Because I was like Which is huge Because that's the first time You've paid for tickets To a gig in I don't know how long And I was going to wait And see if I could get gifts And I was like I actually can't miss this gig Like I just can't miss it So I'm going And I didn't know who they were Until two weeks ago And I might be getting tickets If I lose you I'll lose you I'll lose you I'll lose you Ha ha ha I could do.
44:55I could do. So good. Twelve, twelve. What's it? Twelve, twelve. Yes. And they broke up because they didn't like each other. And I usually hate that style of singing. Oh, I love it. And she somehow manages to do it in a really fun way. Do we want to do any agony aunts? Babe, I don't think we've got many. Ooh, peak. So let me see if I can find it. I could do. I could do. uh just a little psa to everyone in this january time um you can buy all the cookbooks and art gallery memberships you want um but you still work for the death star okay you're like just because you're not doing packet and you have a little bit more disposable income and you're getting all these hobbies that you won't explore doesn't mean you're any better than anyone else who's on TikTok, like Sue, or on Wordle, like me, okay?
45:52So get off your fucking high horse and go scroll through some fucking brain rot. Okay, are you confident people, and if so, why? What makes you so confident? Am I confident? Yeah, I think I'm delusional. Maybe I am confident in regards to some people, but there's things I'm confident in and there's things I'm not confident in. I'm not confident in people won't leave me. like I'm not confident in love like I I actually had a conversation with Bill about it last night where like I'm constantly worried that someone's going to do something bad to me so like I constantly feel like someone's doing me dirty which is not a good trick to have because I don't feel confident that I'll be fine on my own even though I know that I will it's just I can't, I'm not confident in experiencing that pain again what are you confident in?
46:42everything else Singing, performing Life I think I'm quite good at life I'm quite good at communicating And I'm confident in knowing that Whatever I say I believe And I'll just ride it I think we both share A unique blend of Pretty confident And quite insecure at the same time Yeah For sure I care a lot about what people think Yes But then I also don't I care about what people think Until they piss me off And then I really don't And I can't describe what that is I would say I'm a confident person generally. Maybe when it comes to five-side football, I get a bit insecure because I'm a bit shit.
47:20But I do it anyway, occasionally.
47:26But yeah, it's not so much confidence. It's just like I don't mind making a dick of myself or I'm too scared of not doing something that'll do it. but I guess you could call that confidence please tell me to drop out of CSM I hate it you already know that you should drop out of CSM I don't think you should well like Sean Fay was that I think monetise this shit make a meme page about how much CSM students suck that seems to work for a lot of people CSM may be full with cunts I don't really know many people that went to CSM. It sounds a bit of an awful classist place, but it's clearly a good school.
48:17And unless you've got something better on, I don't know, should you leave? Unless it's awful and you're really hating it and you think you could have a better time elsewhere. It's a good uni. It's got clout. And maybe you don't feel like you're getting a good education, but is the grass necessarily greener?
