In short

Darin Olien shares “5 quick sprints” to ditch toxins and improve daily life via air, water, food, and fragrance-free body/home products, plus textile upgrades.

Guests

No guests are featured; it’s a solo episode by Darin Olien (with a sponsor ad for TheraSage).

Key claims

Indoor air is worse than outdoor air; open windows and use HEPA-filtered AC. Filtering water removes pesticides/herbicides and PFOS; shower filters help. Hidden irritants are often from strong/chemical smells in lotions, detergents, and cleaning products—switch to fragrance-free. Superfoods and “nutrient-dense” plant meals improve cellular nutrition; meat is framed as a bioaccumulator.

Notable examples

Open bedroom windows first thing; use AquaTru countertop RO and carbon shower filters; make “superfood dressing” (tahini/olive oil/hemp or sacha inchi, lemon, spirulina, miso); choose fragrance-free laundry soap (borax, baking soda, apple cider vinegar, essential oils); replace with organic undyed sheets and organic underwear (no spandex).

0:32Before we dive into today's episode, I want to thank my sponsor, Therasage. Pulsed electromagnetic frequencies done in the right way with the right frequencies are incredibly beneficial for your mitochondria. Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy. That's what PEMF is. I've been using it at alternative doctors' offices for a very long time. Well, now you can own a mat that has one of these technologies on it among six other technologies. It's got PEMF, which I use every day. It's got red light, photon technology, gemstone technology, full spectrum, infrared, heat, a TENS unit, EMF remediation, earthing, grounding technology, and negative ions.

1:21That's right. It's in one pad. You've got it at your fingertips. You can turn this on. You can lay on it. You can meditate on it like I do every day, and this technology is a natural way for healing process to be created, to help reduce pain, reduce inflammation, to improve your overall immune function. TheraPro is safe, low EMF, and no weird flicker of the lights. It's in many sizes, small size as well as a big size, and I lay on this thing, my full body. It's fantastic. It's got a great travel case with a long power cord, super convenient. You can go to therisage.com and get 15 % off your order.

2:03Just type in Darren, D-A-R-I-N, and magically, you get 15 % off. I'm super stoked for Therisage. I love their company. I love what they're doing, and you will too.

2:15Darin Olien:Hey, everybody. Welcome to the show. I'm stoked you're here. This is the Super Life Podcast. Do you want a Super Life? I mean, really. I want you to ask yourself, could you do some things in your life for your life that would propel you forward to make actions that are integrated with where you want to go rather than just waking up and seeing what happens? Like Groundhog Day. I don't think you, the people listening that have taken your time to even tune in to this podcast are those types of people. So that's why I'm stoked you're here. But we all need a little nudge. So this episode, I'm going to run down five quick sprints for you to improve your life, your home, and break out of some of the unconsciousness and the modern world that has some fatal conveniences.

3:11Darin Olien:So these are easy. Maybe you've implemented some of them. So some of those are refreshers. Or maybe this is a great way for you to reset and to take some actions. This episode is, yeah, it's part fatal conveniences, but it's all about solutions that you can take. So you can ditch the toxins, integrate your life so you, your pets, your children, your spouses are happier and healthier. And little steps go a long way, man. We underestimate the power that we have. And if you want to go deeper and have a lot more DIYs and a lot more areas, get Fatal Conveniences. It's out on hardcover, softcover, audible.

3:57Darin Olien:It is a go-to. If you're willing to get into it, it can unlock the matrix of this crap that people have. It can unlock this matrix in our modern world that you and I didn't sign up for. I don't want to sign up for it. Slow steps over time, little steps over time make massive improvements in your life. So you might want to grab a trash bag or recycle bag or replacement box for this episode right now, because we're going to go right now. Look at this as a few minutes, 20 minutes. I'm going to tell you a bunch of stuff that you can maybe implement straight now. So this isn't, nothing is ever about perfection.

4:44Darin Olien:People always look at me going, oh, I can't live like that, Darren. Like, well, yeah, it's taken me 50 years, not really 50, but education and implementation for a better part of 35 years of my life to be where I'm at, to feel I am liberated because I've created a bunch of habits that I don't think about, but are healthier for me. So this isn't about perfection. This is 30 minutes that could change your life. Breathe easier, drink cleaner water, eat smarter, and ditch hidden irritants. Ready? So again, if you want the book, go get it. It is something, it's timeless. This book will not go away because our toxins are still freaking here.

5:26Darin Olien:Okay? So here's some rules. Easy rules. Do you need a PhD in fragrances and endocrine disruptors and parabens and phthalates and all of this stuff? Nope, you don't. here's what i want you to implement if it smells strong i'm talking anything a lotion laundry detergent cleaning products even off gassing of prints on your clothing if it smells strong or weird or chemically weird i want you to tune into that and try to change that that is an indicator of like, oh, that is a bad fragrance or a parfum that is not working for your body, period. Next thing is think about everything that I'm talking to you about is good, better, or best.

6:21Darin Olien:Start with where you're at. Hey, probably eating pretty good. You're moving your body. You care about life. That's good. And then we want to think about, okay, what else is possible? Better. and then the best. So you might look at me and say, oh my God, he's eating all this stuff. He's eating all these super foods and blah, blah, blah. And you might see me as in this best category. It's irrelevant because I'm not even best. I'm still optimizing. Always, that's life, right? So think about it in those terms so that you can start with where you're at. Okay, so here's the sprints. Talking about air.

7:04Darin Olien:So indoor air quality is worse than outdoor air quality. So what would we want to do with that? Open your windows. Now, if it's hot, because it's bloody hot today, I always sleep with all my windows open. And the first part of my day are all the windows are open. Fresh air, fresh air, fresh air, fresh air, fresh air. At the last moment, when I am slightly uncomfortable and it's getting hot, then I turn the AC on. Make sure it's HEPA filtered. So think about your air quality. Just like that. Don't just keep everything shut. Keep your thermostat on 72 and not get fresh air into your home. when the fresh air out there is better than the indoor air quality you want to get that exchange happening okay easy start with where you're at open your windows in the bedroom that's pretty good open the windows in the rest of your house that's pretty good in the morning in the evening that's great bedroom better HEPA filters so you're getting exchange of good clean air when it's going through that.

8:21Darin Olien:These things are ways to look at, that's pretty good. It's better. It's best. All of that kind of thing. Next one I'm going to hit again. I always hit this and this is water. Water we need and water touches us and it touches our food. So this is super important. If you don't have a filter, get a filter. Don't just get any filter. I love the company. You got discounts that I made sure they gave all of you. I have AquaTru on my countertop. I also have a double AquaTru underneath my countertop. And for me, so I went again, good, better, best. I'm in the best category here because I don't mess around with water.

9:03Darin Olien:I have a whole house filter on all the water coming in. But don't be discouraged if you don't have that. If you don't have a filter, get a filter and get a glass bottle. Boom. Now you've got a reverse osmosis water filter. You clean that out, get rid of pesticides, herbicides, PFOS, all of that stuff coming out of the tap. Make sure you wash your vegetables with all that. Oh my God, hallelujah. You've made a massive change. On a shower filter, get a carbon filter. It's a few bucks, just replace that. At least you're getting out some of the nasty stuff. This is good. This is really good. The filter, AquaTrue filter, it's a couple hundred bucks.

9:46Darin Olien:You get a glass water bottle. I love Blue Bottle Love. It's a company, Blue Bottle Love. You can get a nice glass hard bottle. Now you've eliminated plastic. Easy, man. Good, better, best. Just work with where you're at. Get a filter if you don't have a filter. Bingo. And if you need a shower filter because you're taking a shower with unfiltered water, get a shower filter boom it's pretty good and listen if you have a home you have the means a whole house water filter system i've got to do some research on it the one that i use is not being sold anymore i just know the people so i can get filter replacements and stuff like that but i can't share that with you because you won't have access to it so next thing we're going to move to superfoods we're going to move into high density nutrient dense food that we can easily add And here's a hack of mine.

10:41Darin Olien:So I look at bitter greens, dandelion, chard. You know, I add that to kale. I'm growing many of this, some of this stuff in my garden. So I grab that herbs, chives, throw in ginger, that kind of thing. So think about, let's say, a salad or a soup. This salad, think about rainbow, think about colors, think about getting that polyphenol, anthocyanin, nutrient-rich. Again, every vitamin and mineral is expressed differently in every fruit and veg. So expand your diversity. And if it's cabbage or fermentation, you can play with that. Add to your thing. And here's the hack. The hack is your dressing.

11:29Darin Olien:Oh my gosh. I'm telling you, my dressing is super nutrient dense. I play with it all the time. Sometimes I use tahini as a kind of base. Then I use organic olive oil as a base. But then I could use, I've used like hemp oil or Sasha Inchi oil, which is perfectly blended for omegas in our body. And then you can even add spirulina. Blend that up. This incredible Energy Bites company, spirulina company, add that into the blender. Tahini, lemon, olive oil, spirulina, blend that up. Now you're dressing and then you make the taste. Add some Himalayan salt in there. Make it taste so it's delicious. Here's another hack.

12:21Darin Olien:Fermentation. you can add some miso paste in there now you've got microbiological rich dressing spirulina chlorella uh chlorophyll uh vitamins and minerals all of these things that's your salad dressing and by the way it tastes amazing think about your salad not as just like oh it's just a salad make it pop use your superfood knowledge that i'm wanting you right now right so i'm giving you hacks that i have created so i'm always looking at every meal as a nutrient bomb of extravaganza and it has to taste good so i play with stuff and i love blowing people away with stuff like that Of course, flax, chia seeds, add to that dressing, mix it up, olives, capers, chives, all of these walnuts, sprouted nuts, baruca nuts.

13:22Darin Olien:Oh my God, you have nutrient density that tastes freaking amazing. You have to get, why I'm so excited right now is because I don't skimp on food. I've been plant-based for 17 years. You think I'm not celebrating every meal? hell yeah i don't lack anything i don't i'm not craving any of the you know non-plant-based stuff i just don't crave it because i am getting cellular activity i am getting where all nutrients come from meat is a bioaccumulator eventually of a plant right so no skimping here I want you to view your salads, your soups, your burritos, whatever you're making is loaded, full of colors, soup foods, fiber, all of that stuff.

14:17Darin Olien:That looks like a salad, but it has layers and layers and layers of nutrient contribution to your life. Okay. And of course, proteins, lentils, tofu, tempeh, all of that stuff, nuts, seeds, legumes, beans, beans, beans. This is it, man. This is how simple it is. And if you don't want to make a salad, you just leave off the greens, shove that into a burrito, put some nutritional yeast on it. bam, Monty's, I tell you this company Monty's has this cream, plant-based cream cheese stuff that is just like blows my mind how good that is. Like I just had a plant-based burrito I made and it was so freaking delicious.

15:06Darin Olien:I don't need chicken or beef or any of that shit in my food. I need nutrients, nutrients, bioavailable nutrients. Okay, so I'll say about that. The next thing is we're going to move to the quick and easy body care stuff. I want you to think about your soap. I want to go back to the fragrance. Does it stink? Does it smell kind of chemically? Does your lotion, does your detergent? Here's the easy hack. Here's just focus on this. Just focus on fragrance, free as your good as your first step fragrance free that's it it's all you need to worry about because if that company is going on fragrance free they're probably doing better things so as you ratchet it up you can go to better and best but just think of fragrance free laundry detergent fragrance free for laundry detergent fragrance free i do it myself borax clean sodium bicarbonate clean organic apple cider vinegar clean they react and they break up material and stains and stuff like that and then essential oil lemon that's my 25 cents or less of laundry detergent that then makes my clothes smell amazing without the chemicals these are easy So just think of soap, lotion, detergent, laundry, all of that cleaning products.

16:38Darin Olien:Think of it in terms of fragrance. Fragrance-free, easy step. Then that makes a better choice, okay? Textiles, clothing. Here's an easy one. I know sheets can be expensive, but good. Organic, undyed sheets. You're sleeping a third of your life. and if they're not washed in fragrances now you're not breathing that in every day because your sheets your bedding is plastic unless it's nylon and spandex there's all this weird shit in your bedding so exchange that out and get undyed or plant dyed bedding or at least start with the fragrance free don't wash it in the fragrances to add on top of it so save up a little money and try to change out your bedding.

17:29Darin Olien:The second thing that you could potentially do is get organic underwear. No spandex, no stretchy stuff. Start with your underwear first because it's close to your genitals. It's close to your body. You're wearing it all the time and that can leach PFAS, formaldehyde, azo dyes, endocrine disruption, phthalates, all of that stuff into your skin and into your bloodstream, okay? This is not about holy shit. This is about what can you do now to think about so you can make a quick and easy step, okay? Industry of all nations, I wear their boxers every day. My good buddy, Jeff Garner, has a male and female line of underwear called Prophetic.

18:17Darin Olien:These are things that you can research, find, infest in good, healthy underwear. Start there with your clothing. These are easy. So again, these are sprints that you can just look at your life a little more, do some replacements, water filter replacements, fragrance-free replacements, a little textile replacements, just orienting you towards a better choice, not needing to be perfect at this point. Okay, that's it for today. Thanks for tuning in. Find my book, Fatal Conveniences. if you want to have the Bible to get you out of these toxins totally and completely. And that is just the best thing that you can carry with to help you, your friends, your family, your pets, all of that stuff.

19:11Darin Olien:But it's not about perfection. It's about learning, waking up from the matrix and making some better choices to integrate those better choices in your life in a powerful way. Peace. I love you.
