32You know, I'm absolutely obsessed with what I put in my body. And, by the way, you should too. However, the NAD market is certainly exploding right now. And here's the shocking truth. Independent tests showed that 87 % of the supplements, the NR supplements, which is the precursor for NAD, had not what they advertised in it. And many of them had zero of the NR in the product at all. And that is a problem. That's why I believe you need to choose TrueNiogen. TrueNiogen is the research pioneer in this space, full stop. I fully support TrueNiogen because of their commitment to quality assurance and safety for what is in the product is verified and supported scientifically.

31That's why TrueNiogen's independent verification and tests is so important. The whole brands of trust us and just buy the product is not good enough. It needs to be verified. It needs to be supported. So you can confidently know that what you're buying and what you are taking is exactly what's in the product. So why would you gamble with your health with people that aren't supporting it with their own tests? Support the companies that are supporting you. So all you have to do is go to trueniogen.com. Use the promo code Darren20 and you get 20 % off. That's Darren20TrueNiogen.com.

17Darin Olien:What if the greatest heist happening right now isn't being done by the government or corporations or whatever? What if it's happening inside, inside your phone, inside your mind every day? Your attention, your time, your creative energy quietly redirected towards someone else's fear, someone else's agenda, someone else's dream. And the wild thing, most of us handed it over willingly a long time ago. Today, we're taking it back. Welcome back to the Super Life Solo Podcast. I'm Darren. I'm your navigator today. I'm going to help you architect your life. And if you're new here, this show is about carving your own path, not the one the algorithm laid out for you, the one you build from curiosity, from discipline, from tenacity, from aliveness, from the inside out.

14Darin Olien:Today's episode came out of something I've been wrestling now for years. Across every country I've traveled to, every culture I studied, and I was in many cultures, and also in the Roadmap to Happiness, our new series. Every superfood, hilltop, mountaintop, marketplace I've hunted through and in many places, and most of which don't even show up on Google Maps, or maybe they do now. The question is, how do you stay informed and connected to this world without becoming a victim of it? Because the happiest, most alive people I have ever encountered in my life are not the most plugged-in people. They are the most rooted.

01Darin Olien:And today, I'm going to show you how to get rooted while staying awake to what really matters. and certainly what matters truly to you. So let me give you this honest picture. This is a war going on, and the battlefield is your mind. The platforms you use every day employ behavioral psychologists. That's right. Very, very smart people. The smartest on the earth. Specifically to make sure you cannot look away. This is the attention economy. And the economy, you are not the customer. You are the product. Let that sink in for a second. The average person checks their phone 96 times a day. Let that sink in.

47Darin Olien:That's one every 10 minutes. Microsoft research found, on average, the attention span has dropped from 12 seconds in 2000 to around 8 seconds today. But here's the crucial part. It's not that we can't focus. It's that we've been trained not to. Cal Newport at Georgetown calls this the cognitive downgrade. When you fragment your attention constantly, you lose the neurological capacity for the deep, sustained thinking required to actually build something meaningful. Every minute you spend reacting to someone else's content is a minute you are not creating your own life. Let me say that again. Every minute you spend reacting to someone else's content is a minute you are not creating your own life.

41Darin Olien:But here's what I love. The ancient wisdom, the traditions, said the exact same thing thousands of years before social media even existed. Marcus Aurelius, the Roman emperor, one of the most powerful men in history. Guess what? He spent his life writing, not about politics or war, but about protecting his inner world. What you allow in determines everything. The Stoics called it your ruling faculty, your sovereign attention. Buddhism, Vedic philosophy, the Ikigai culture of Okinawa, the Hige philosophy of Denmark and Scandinavia, All of them across every culture and century have the same core teachings.

28Darin Olien:The quality of your life flows from the quality of your inner world. Protect it like your most precious resource, because it is. When I was running around the planet, superfood hunting in over 25 countries, and also creating my newest project, Roadmap to Happiness, we were going deep. We're always going deep on that experience, on what makes people thrive. I saw it firsthand when I was running around this planet. I kept finding the same pattern in the worlds of the happiest people, the most content people, the people in the far-off places looking at you with the most radiant smile. Under all of that was something harder to quantify.

13Darin Olien:They had a rich interior life. And this is where my superfood journey ties directly into this, because when you're out in the world trying to discover, open to the experience, following a lead in a jungle for cacao, tracking down rhodiola rosea at 17 ,000 feet in the Tibetan mountains from villagers in their marketplaces, or just sitting down with a family or someone who is growing medicinal plants for their village for 40, 50, 60 years. You are, by definition, fully present, aren't you? You are not consuming content. You are creating content. You are creating your life. You are alive. That state, the discoverer state, is the state I want to help you live in more of all of the time.

08Darin Olien:If we took all of the time back today, what could we create? If we scrolled less and created more, what else is possible? So here's the practical part. I'd like to take a moment to mention my amazing sponsors, the company Body at Shakeology, my baby, who I helped to formulate way back in 2006. Most people think of a protein shake as a quick fix, but Shakeology, because I know was built with a completely different intention. It's superfoods. It's nutrient density. It's a superfood nutrition shake where quality actually comes first. I know this firsthand. When you talk about the quality story, we're talking about a refusal to take shortcuts.

57While most of the industry uses generic blends to cut costs, every single ingredient in Shakeology literally is individually researched, vetted, and sourced from global partners all over the world who meet the strictest standards of purity and sustainability. We're talking about seven layers of testing. These are not just words. This is actual from the raw ingredients to the finished bag to ensure that what's on the label is exactly what's in your glass. There are no artificial sweeteners, no fake flavors, no compromises. It's measurable quality that evolves with science. Experience the difference for yourself.

40I still drink this every single day. Head to Shakeology.com and use the promo code Darren O, D-A-R-I-N-O, one body, B-O-D-I, for 15 % off your order. That's Darren, D-A-R-I-N, the letter O, the number one body, B-O-D-I, to get 15 % off. I can't wait for you to try it.

07Darin Olien:I call this your inner peace architecture. Not a rigid system, a set of principles that I was thinking about. drawn from research and ancient wisdom and this lived experience that we are all in right now. One is create a morning sovereign hour. Get up earlier, find the time before your phone, before news. But if you want to check out happy news after that, I would suggest go to roadtohappy.net. We have happy news, legit happy news scrolling on that website every day. But the most important thing is before anyone else's reality intrudes yours, I want you to create yours. One hour, or if you want to start 20 minutes, belongs entirely to you.

57Darin Olien:Movement, stillness, breath work, journaling, listening to music, peaceful mindfulness walking. This is not productivity hacking. This is sovereignty. You are retraining your nervous system, and that is the one in charge fully. So you want to be the curator of your information diet as carefully as what you're putting in your mouth with food. I wouldn't put processed junk in my body, so why in my mind? Decide intentionally what you let in. You have to be diligent on the gates of your mind. Schedule windows for news. And unfollow anything or anyone that consistently makes you feel less alive. Follow what expands you.

44Darin Olien:Have at least one analog obsession. What do I mean by that? Something you do with your hands, your body, your feet, your physical world. Could be cooking, hiking, reading, building, gardening. This rewires your brain. It rewires your brain's reward system away from the dopamine slot machine that we get when we scroll. And this moves us towards real accomplishment. This is what superfoods gave me when I was traveling. I was out of the country at least once every six weeks for 15 years. I craved experiences. Living, breathing, real world obsession. and practice informed detachment. You can know what's happening in the world without being emotionally colonized by it.

36Darin Olien:The stoic view from above. So zoom out, see the patterns, respond thoughtfully rather than reacting emotionally to everything that's, by the way, is being manipulated anyway. We are less and less informed to the actual truth, especially when we are getting our news from social media. Be a conscious observer to it all. Don't let it steal your attention or your emotions. Not a pinball for your central nervous system. Design your dream life on paper before anyone else designs it for you. Because if you don't consciously do it, it is being done to you. Sit down. Write it down. The vision. No edits.

20Darin Olien:Let yourself dream. Let yourself feel. End the details. not because the universe magically delivers it tomorrow because your brain cannot move towards what it hasn't clearly seen. And guess what? That happens inside you. In the absence of your own vision, this algorithm will gladly take it and provide one for you. Do you wanna give it away? I don't think so. You are the architect, not the audience. I wanna close with something real. Everything I just shared with you, The reclaimed attention, the sovereign inner life, the ancient wisdom meeting the modern movement, that's not just a podcast for me.

03Darin Olien:That's been the filter through which I've been living for years. And now, because of this life that we have blasting us every second of every day, it takes more diligence and discipline for me too. I've been working on something and I can't tell you everything yet, but I'm stoked to create community. I do have my Patreon community and I'm expanding into potentially groups that I can curate some small group of people to amplify. I'll let you know more later. I don't want to get into it all right now, but the things that you can do right now. But what I can tell you is everything that has been meaningful in my life, all of the Emmy award-winning shows, the podcasts, the books, the formulations that got to billions of mouths and helped people's lives change from the detox protocols I helped to create, on and on and on.

03Darin Olien:Guess what? They all came out of this inner movement, this inner acknowledgement of living right here, right now. No noise, no division, no overwhelm. Nothing came meaningful out of that. So as I sit in silence, I sat today wanting to talk about this. Create a path for you so that you can move forward, creating your life, not reacting to it. And put that in the world. This is not a response to what's broken. It's a demonstration of what is possible. It's a journey, a real one, across places that changed my life and I hope will change yours as well. And I have to remind myself as much as I'm saying these words, it takes us to stop what's going on and reacting to the world out there and saying yes to what the world inside is craving to come out.

00Darin Olien:I've been doing this for a long time, carving my own path, saying yes to something that changed my life forever. And that is always listening to my heart and letting my heart inform my mind to go for it. And I want you to go for it too. Join this journey. Come on the journey with us. Like, subscribe, share this podcast. Help others break this social media craziness. This world that's stealing our attention. And again, if you want to find out happy news, go to roadtohappy.net. If you want to join the Patreon movement, the Super Life Patreon, it's only$7.49 a month. And that is where I'm building.

42Darin Olien:So are you ready? Are you ready to be the architect of your life? I'll see you on the road. I love you so much. And let's create this world together. Let's create our super life. Love you. Peace.

Key Takeaway

"Every minute you spend reacting to someone else's world is a minute you're not creating your own. The real shift happens when you reclaim your attention, protect your inner world, and begin designing your life from the inside out—because you are not here to be the audience… you are here to be the architect."
