In short
World Cup Daily recap and preview focused on “a fantastic day of draws,” plus “stocks rising/falling” reactions and upcoming matches.
Guests
Michael Timbs (“Timbsy”), co-host with Elliot Spithy (Arsenal Vision). No other guests.
Key claims
- Cape Verde’s 0-0 vs Spain was a historic upset: Cape Verde had only one foul (first since 1966) and goalkeeper saves plus emotional post-match storylines.
- Iran vs New Zealand (draw) delivered great football and narratives despite fewer stars.
- “Old guard” stars (Belgium’s De Bruyne, Egypt’s Salah) looked past their peak; broadcasters overhype aging legends.
- Hydration breaks are the main non-football gripe; otherwise officiating/VAR has been relatively smooth.
Notable examples
- Roberto Lopes (Cape Verde) reportedly got a national-team opportunity via a LinkedIn message.
- Vizinha (Cape Verde goalkeeper) MVP for saves; Scotland fans praised for atmosphere (Fenway Park).
- Preview: France vs Senegal; Norway vs Iraq; Argentina vs Algeria; Messi expected to start strong.

0:55there's a famous american sports saying that said a tie is like kissing your sister Well, if that's the case, she had the time of her life yesterday. This is the Arsenal Vision World Cup Daily. My name's Elliot Spithy, Blackman Twitter, Yank Gunner. Yeah, obviously, didn't sleep great last night and had plenty of time to think of my intro. And for those of you who aren't familiar, Bear Bryant, some other famous American sports personalities have said that famous saying, it's not a draw in American English. So it's a tie is like kissing your sister. Don't know what it's meant to entail or why that became a saying, but it is a saying.
1:26and we had a fun day of draws at the World Cup. It was an all-draw day at the World Cup yesterday, but a really interesting one, a fun one to talk about. We have France-Senegal today, Argentina today, so Messi gets his World Cup off to a flyer, I think, probably. And yeah, the Fox crew, I don't know what you've been watching the World Cup on, but the TV crew here, desperate to tell you how good Erling Haaland is and how important that Norway game is going to be. and interestingly as I was listening to some of the coverage last night they're saying oh Erling Haaland Erling Haaland but does he have enough around him who will provide the chances for Erling Haaland who does he play with who could be good enough and I thought I don't know just the captain of the team that won the Premier League but you know hey that's just me anyway here with me now is the elegant and articulate gentleman we all know as Michael Timbs hello Timbsy hello mate that was a lovely intro amazing thank you yeah and and look like I said no no idea what the kissing your sister thing is about it's just a saying try not to overthink it uh unless you've got a preamble i think we can dig into some meaty headlines from a day of draw yeah yeah i mean go
2:35Michael Timbs:for it it was a fun day of football what's your first headline uh first headline has to be uh cape verde cabo verde however you want to say it just winning the best nil nil game in the world I don't think any country collection of islands and people have earned so much after drawing nil-nil. It was not just a... It would almost be if Curacao did the business against Germany, you know, that level of just pandemonium and happiness. And yeah, it was just an incredible game to watch. I think once it kind of gets to a certain point in those games, you're just expecting, right, Spain are just going to do their thing.
3:23Michael Timbs:They're going to grind them down, create loads of chances. And I think there gets a point, I'm not sure at what point it was, but there gets a point in that game where you go probably half time and you go, going into the second half, if they can last another like 10 minutes, this could get really tasty and like this could be a proper upset. and then it just the whole world was on Cape Verde's uh side and it was just it was a proper world cup moment and I'm I love it it was brilliant it had a little bit of the vibes of when Manchester City were chasing us not this season as much but two seasons ago and you'd watch a City game and it'd be nil-nil and you're just like they're gonna get a goal at the end yeah they're gonna get a goal at the end yeah had a bit of that vibe yeah the inevitability but it was just i mean the the stories that came from it as well obviously like the virginia just uh the saves that he he made and the the tears at the end and then the the interviews after and him earning like well he's got did six million bloody followers now and everyone talking about his journey through the the different leagues and countries to play in the portuguese second division and now it's just everything this is what I love about the World Cup is that there are so many of these little moments that come out that you would have no idea about and no one would care about if it wasn't for just this one thing or one result on a pitch and then suddenly you're just exposed to all of these incredible stories uh like Roberto Lopez getting representing Cape Verde because of a LinkedIn message this is great like what the hell I I'm not sure we're not in the stock rising section but but linkedin was going to get a stock rising for me potentially for those who don't know this is not a linkedin liam story this is actually a a heartwarming linkedin story pico lopez low is it lopez or lopes do we how do we lope i'm guessing oh lopes lopez they will be like the brazilian yeah got it okay uh was offered a slot in the national side via linkedin the original message he didn't respond to because it was in portuguese which he doesn't speak.
5:36So just a phenomenal, phenomenal story there. Yeah, really love that. You're right about this one, Timsy. Go ahead. It's just full of history.
5:44Michael Timbs:It's also the first game since records began. Alpta kind of kept records, which was England in 1966, with one foul. Cape Verde recorded one foul the entire game. Incredible. Which is the first time since 1966 in World Cup. So just stuff like that is just amazing. We could go on all day, but, you know, we've got other stuff. Yeah, and it is the typical case that obviously the narrative about Spain will probably extend past the reality. Worth noting, they lost their opening game in South Africa when they won the tournament. Argentina lost their opening game to Saudi Arabia when they won the tournament.
6:24Lamin Amal didn't start. Nico Williams didn't start. I think we may have a Spain player or two in our stock following, so I won't get out in front of that. But I will give you my headline. And my headline is a World Cup that's not just about the stars. Because if you stayed up for it, Iran-New Zealand was one of my favorite games of the tournament so far. For sure. It was super fun. There was lots of action at both ends. New Zealand took the lead. The celebrations were incredible. Iran came back. Both teams with an underdog story. New Zealand, by 30 minutes, had more shots than they'd ever had on target in a World Cup.
7:01Iran obviously going through an incredibly difficult journey in terms of their preparation and they're even being allowed to come into the country to play the game and having to exit the country again and just the turmoil they're facing two teams with great narratives great stories not a lot of stars I mean Mediterranean and Chris Wood are known players but but really not a team of stars and a tournament that I think has thrown up some fun games from the the nations you might have said well I can skip that game or don't need to watch that game and if you have been watching I think you've been rewarded this was a really fun one Timsey yeah it was also the quality of
7:37Michael Timbs:football especially like for the goals I get my pre-world cup prediction of this having the most set piece goals ever in a world cup is looking terrible like all of these goals not to say they're absolutely free-flowing stuff but like some great passages of play and like incisive passes like whips into iran's equalizer ridiculous cross great header chris woods just being a big big old beanpole up top and just iran iran just having no idea how to defend against a giant you know the second new zealand goal if scored by one of the nations that are more focused on would be replayed all tournament long in terms of the way they played through the middle the combination play the the run the the second man run continuing chris wood laying it off and a great finish i thought the keeper went down a bit early and a bit easy to make that finish a little more possible but yeah just a really fun game and there's a huge iranian diaspora or they might call themselves persians i you know i know that there's a huge diaspora in uh in the la area and someone can reach out and certainly give us some more information on that i'm not an expert on it but I know that there's that big community there.
8:53And they were really behind Iran, which made for a great atmosphere at SoFi. It was just a fantastic watch.
8:59Michael Timbs:I guess this kind of makes me realize anyway, or think I could be wrong, but just with the expanded World Cup, and I get that the World Cup justly did get a lot of grief beforehand just because of the political situation around it, logistically, how difficult it is, how it's expensive for fans. and there are so many examples of like why this world things that have happened that have ruined this perfect concept we have of a world cup and then when it really gets into it it's just like okay it's not too bad it's kind of the football's gonna be the center of attention and then i think this is actually you get so many more little moments that we all love because of the expanded world cup and the fact that it is all over the place like it's in three huge countries and that it probably just means like that for the individual fan trying to you know go to these matches it's probably going to set you back so much more money than it would if it was just in one country sure but then you do just get these incredible moments for fans and from these these countries in these places where like you're gonna i don't know it's it's it's not all gonna be just about the favorites it's like there's there's so many so many other stories and and smaller countries are so such bigger parts to play because there are just now more people involved and then yeah off the pitch as well you have these beautiful fan stories with that i'm sure we'll get into but it is really difficult because we all know that fifa is a corrupt and avaricious organization and so there is a desire and i include myself in this group to malign anything that fifa does right yeah anything fifa does must be wrong because fifa itself is a corrupt and malign organization but intellectually you have to allow yourself the room to acknowledge that either through luck or by accident fifa gets some things right so far so far and i could be wrong I don't know that I think the expanded field has been a negative for this tournament.
11:11Now, there have been some hammerings. Obviously, Sweden had a 5-1. Germany had a 5-7. But overall, I have enjoyed some of the stories of the nations that would not have been here but for the expanded tournament. And again, I get that it's a naked cash grab. I get that it waters down the tournament, that it does things that we don't like. The hydration breaks are obviously a scourge, and we could discuss that more. That is totally negative.
11:34Michael Timbs:that is the one that is 100 negative yeah but but you know i don't want people to think i'm being a pollyanna i just think you can acknowledge something is good even though our our usual preference is to to just criticize anything that fifa does and understandably and justifiably so sure yeah exactly yeah um you have another headline you want to hit uh i would say in the theme of the giants stumbling but belgium just flattering to deceive uh just i mean i don't even know if they should be considered a giant because now their golden generation just looks a bit weathered it's really in the final throws of of their uh their golden generation they just look off the pace and you know De Bruyne obviously had that chance with a free kick but it's not the same it doesn't give me the same feeling either of like this Belgium team's got this real potential to go deep and it just it's not really capturing the imagination to be honest so I would say that this is you never know like they've still got obviously a talented team And Lukaku, for all of his critics, has a great record as well.
12:52Michael Timbs:So they could, you know, turn it up and get through to the knockouts. And then when you're in the knockouts, who knows? But just for the moment, it's like, of course, this was going to be the performance they came to this World Cup with after so many World Cups where they just didn't quite get it done, you know. Yeah, yeah. I totally agree. and when we come to the stock falling, I may talk about that a bit more. I'll give one more quick headline. The World Cup so far has been about the football and what I mean is it's not about the ball flying weird. It's not about the technology not working. It's not about the referees screwing up.
13:28I know we had a weird refereeing performance to open the tournament, but to be fair, this has been a relatively smooth experience and I know we're early and this can go badly wrong. Touch wood, touch wood. But Timsey, we're not talking about refs on the World Cup daily. we're not talking about VAR so far I feel that the execution around the games has been good enough again hydration breaks notwithstanding that we are talking about the players in the football deciding games and not other extraneous influences
13:59Michael Timbs:despite the obviously one instance of the Somalian ref not getting in of course and I wouldn't consider that sort of a football issue but yes, that's a horrible thing. But yeah, maybe, you know, as you say, it's been relatively smooth sailing on the pitch, again, touch wood, where there's no, you know, the Jablani, as iconic a ball it was, it did cause a lot of problems and people were kind of up in arms at the fact that suddenly you can't predict where the ball's going to go in the air. And maybe the hydration break is this World Cup's biggest thing. And if it is, then I'll take that. Again, I think it should be rectified and I really do hope that it's not a thing going forward because I think it is damaging to the game.
14:57Michael Timbs:But if it's just something that is put in place for this World Cup, for the games, for the health of the players, but realistically as a tactical break, fine. I'll take that as an enemy I know. Yeah, I mean, there are certain journalists, I'm not going to call them out by name, because, you know, I don't want to be that guy, because I know that they're doing a job. But there are certain journalists who are on the right everything bad about the World Cup beat. So every single article they put out is what's terrible about this World Cup. And I want to be clear. all of the things they're writing are fair and true but i think you have to have two contradictories in your head if you're going to bother following a tournament which is all of these things that you want to say that are negative about it the hydration breaks or the political climate or whatever you want to say are all true that the naked cash grab infantino's corruption like all of that but if you're going to watch the games at some point you have to decide that football is for us these terrible people don't get to take it from us look what it means to cape verde look what it means to iran and new zealand look what it means to Saudi Arabia.
16:00Look what it means to these less favored teams that get to play on the stage and have these big moments. And if we're going to let football be ours, then we have to find a way to still talk about the football and enjoy it, where not every single thing has to be a reminder of how terrible it is. And by the way, I don't want to dismiss those concerns. They exist. And for some people, there'll be reason not to watch the tournament at all. And I actually, I have respect for people whose principles allow them to be in that position, I would simply also acknowledge that that allows people to take football from all of us, which is a shame as well.
16:33Michael Timbs:You know? Yeah. I think with all these things as well, it's just how you want to see it. It's like if you want to be negative, I get that some people have a job, but, you know, you look at some of these fans and you look at the tears in Vazinha's eyes and you go, you know what, this is a beautiful game. Yeah. All right. Let's hit the headlines and the stocks, but, pardon me, we hit the headlines, the stocks rising and stocks falling. But before we do that, two things I want to tell you about. 18:23Who do you have, Timsy?
18:27Michael Timbs:Very, very simply, I said it before, Vizinha. He is the World Cup's MVP of the day. He has to be just for that story because he was unbelievable. He pulled off some amazing saves. The story, the fact that his performance on the pitch led to people know about his story off the pitch. how his grandparents helped helped raise him they're not here now it's just a beautiful moment and we've already spoken about it but it has to be him and then as a sub-MVP of that just Kate Verde in general they are the MVPs of the day yeah, I agree MVP of the day, Kate Verde MVP of the day, Vosinha now i owe a stock rising and i guess i have to start with elijah just just the brace uh i had this image as i was laying in bed not sleeping this morning because i couldn't get back to sleep of us doing a who's on first what's on second kind of riff thing where i keep saying just the brace and you say yeah but by who and i say just the goals and you're like but yeah okay they're just two goals but who scored them and we go back and forth it'd be very funny but uh as i awoke and was more clear-headed i realized it's actually not not funny at all and and that's why i'm glad we're not doing that segment um but yeah elijah just scores two goals i thought the first one was great the second one is a brilliant move one of the moves of the tournament as we discussed uh chris wood sets him up beautifully but just a lovely moment a motherwell player i think they said something like the first player to net more than once for new zealand at the world cup and maybe the first motherwell player to score i wouldn't be surprised i would not be surprised so a great day for them my also stock rising off the back of that is the Scotland fans the fan scenes in general always amazing at a World Cup always make the headlines and rightly so but Scotland fans I said before that they are such good value they were amazing value at the Euros and I feel like they've just turned it up another level in at this world cup as you would do when you're exposed to mexico the us and canada and the us itself has so many different cultural little zones to just get involved in and take over and the fact that just in boston they're at fenway park the the videos i mean i'm sure everyone who's would have seen the videos of them take over fenway park and just it's incredible stuff like they are it's the most like pure innocent like there's nothing bad there's no there's no violence there's no oh my god they're too drunk and they're getting in scuffles it's just pure like these scots and generally speaking all the fans that have come to world cup are just enjoying themselves so much because they're exposed to the us by the way elliot for for me anyway look you look at the us and you see it as just this sort of not real thing that is only that only exists in movies and video games and posters you know so then when you go there as if i still i've been in new york i'm moving here soon i still walk out every day go i why is this i've seen this in a film like this isn't i need to know what's funny it's real i'm from there i lived in new york in manhattan for six years it felt that way every day i walked out of there it's a it's a special place but to your to your point timsey i think there is there is what the united states represents for people who aren't from here and for some people that are from here and all of those things are certainly worthy of discussion and i think worthy of critique there's also what the experiences of traveling around this country or experiencing this country when you never have and meeting some of the people and that's not to say there aren't some you know terrible people here like there aren't any country but it is that really hard thing same with the world cup and fifa like we We were talking about holding contradictory ideas in your head and allowing yourself to enjoy the good things about something that also is certainly laced with things that are worth criticizing as well.
22:43Michael Timbs:So, yeah, shout out to the Scots. They are stock rising, but generally speaking, you've got the Japanese reacting to getting free chips whenever you go to like a bar restaurant, chips and salsa, and they're very respectful, so they make sure they finish everything. Did you read that? There's a great post. He said, he kept bringing me baskets of chips, and I thought it would be disrespectful not to finish them. So I kept finishing the chips and he kept bringing chips. It's the most Japanese thing. It's amazing as well. Social media is fucking amazing. Like the fact that you can just get these little tidbits and these moments of just consciousness of any fan anywhere in the US or wherever.
23:24Michael Timbs:And the fact that this Japanese dude is just basically like journaling the fact that he's being plied with these three chips and he doesn't understand the concept so he he has to finish them out of politeness which is amazing yeah great a great video i saw speaking to the scotland fans of um i guess it was a boston police officer dribbling a ball just juggling a ball yes they're going nuts about it super good uh he did a good job too um okay i I don't think we have to go to any more stocks rising necessarily because I think we covered the sort of highs of the day with the less favored teams. You know, again, the stock rising, just the less favored nations making a mark.
24:08And to be fair, whether you're Saudi Arabia or you're Iran or you're New Zealand or even, dare I say, Cape Verde, although I doubt it, you're in a place now with a point where you say, one more of those, maybe we find our journey continuing. so we'll have to see let's hit some stocks falling I think it's a section rife with options so I wonder where you're going to go first uh I would I would probably say
24:35Michael Timbs:beforehand I would have thought Spain but as you say like the first game is always a little bit we've seen it you know Brazil now we've seen it with Spain like it's it's not I think if you know football you know it's like there's it's such a long tournament like even though it's only three games like first game you can't really glean anything serious from it but maybe i do have to just go with it because they should win and they didn't and they look very very toothless as you say they don't they didn't have lamin and nika williams but even then you should especially at a world cup that is that requires i mean it's going to be the longest world cup ever like you're going to need the squad like the true depth of a squad and you're going to need substitutes and if you can't win against cape verde which is my favorite team in the whole world but if you can't beat them without those two players and especially lamine really like if you're still relying on an 18 year to come on and just like that you look devoid of any ideas without him then that is a little bit worrying um so they don't they don't really have a striker do they i don't rate uh oriazabal oriazabal that that much oriazabal yeah i mean and and i'm obviously a big fan of marino i was very happy when he came on he had a few chances um but again i think he's probably just still getting up to speed because he was such a long time out.
26:07Michael Timbs:So I'll be great. I actually do think if he takes up a similar role to the Euros where he is just that number nine, false nine, not nine and just scores, great. And I kind of expect Spain to go to that. But yeah, just for the moment, it's very, very unimpressive. Just very flat. And maybe they thought this was one game beforehand that was maybe owed to them. They're like, of course, we're going to win this. and then just yeah um it's one of those classic situations too though where to your point the only problem with going too big on it is on another day if you have 27 shots and 2.1 expected goals and 51 touches in the opposition box you know if one goes in five go in and suddenly you're saying holy cow you know Spain are going to be a problem in this world cup so it's like you just got to be careful about going too big yeah um you know and and also I think the danger of downplaying Spain's performances that it undercuts what I thought was really organized and good defending from Cape Verde and obviously great goalkeeping performance.
27:09So I'll go with my stock falling, and that is the old guard. The players that the broadcaster wants you to know about, but that really don't have it anymore. And we saw that on display no more clearly than Belgium versus Egypt, where Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah are just not the players they were. And Salah, you know, it's funny, on the Arsenal Vision podcast, we talk a lot about, well, let me restate that. I used to talk a lot about age curves and the age cliff, and I can go over the age cliff. We talk about it a lot with Aubameyang and how do players age, and Salah's age cliff has been as steep as they come, from being the best player in the world for a season and single-handedly winning a league title for Liverpool to really being a liability for the teams he plays for in a very obvious kind of way.
27:57and you saw that with De Bruyne obviously I think Rodri was poor I think there is going to be that interesting moment in this World Cup where we have to start to hand football to the next generation of stars because some of these players that people keep wanting to come to the forefront they don't have it anymore and I thought that was very much on display in the Belgium-Egypt game
28:17Michael Timbs:Yeah, I would back that Also, I mean they're in for a rude awakening for when Portugal play because I'm guessing they still see I say they broadcasters the kind of American broadcast landscape probably see Ronaldo is still this this man this superman that is going to light the World Cup on fire and yeah I would say Portugal's chances rely on him not being that guy but exactly but I think chances are he's not he's not the guy he once was but I think this is a good thing you know and maybe american audiences especially are kind of learning whether they're new to the game or whether they've they've just watched it for a while but from afar that the game isn't about these these big players it is about these big players but the world cup specifically is like the amazing thing about the world cup is that it's these incredible moments of these incredible teams and unbelievable players but alongside these moments of just random tiny football nations making history in their own way like that is and then the fans all the way throughout like that that's what makes a world cup amazing it's the magic on the pitch with the biggest players and the biggest personalities but also combined with everything off the pitch as well so i i think I think it is a stock falling.
29:50Michael Timbs:I think that old guard of those players, it is kind of obvious. And I guess with the heat as well, is making it particularly evident that, wow, they are actually towards the very end of their career. I also think it's not necessarily a bad thing. No, it's not a bad thing. And I think that it's an opportunity to discover, you know, the exciting young talent like Ayubwadi, you know, who impressed people for Morocco the other day, right? I mean, those kinds of things, those stories are going to be all over the tournament if your eyes are open to them. So I don't know that we have to do any more stocks falling.
30:26I will just note that we may want to start like some kind of prediction market for when Zlatan or Thierry just decides to walk across that set and like take a swing at Alexi Lalas because the disdain on Henri's face when he talks, the humor. I mean, I think Ibrahimovic thinks he's being pranked, but one of my favorite things is he keeps calling him. I think he calls him Alexis, Alexis Lalas. He just keeps using the wrong name, which is the most Latin thing. And I love it. but one to keep an eye on. Okay, let's quickly talk about looking ahead today and to the point about Old Guard, I mean, it doesn't get more Old Guard than Lionel Messi.
31:03His tournament gets off to a start today. France and their outrageous, outrageous abundance of talent against a very good Senegal team in Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard get their tournament up and running. What are you looking forward to from today? And I think we know where we start there.
31:20Michael Timbs:Well, I'm looking forward to finding out if I have tickets to France-Senegal because of course it is at the Met live. So really fingers crossed. Probably not because it's too late notice. But that'd be incredible though. If it happens, it'd be an amazing game to go to. I think it's going to be a great game. France, obviously, yeah, as you say, super talented, but Senegal as well, like a giant in themselves. So it's going to be a really, really good game. Really good game, sorry. And as you say, yeah, Haaland getting his World Cup started, but most importantly Odegaard being just behind him, getting his World Cup started as well.
31:57Michael Timbs:Yeah, it should be fun. And then seeing what... Oh, is it only three games today? Yeah. It is. It is a three-game day. There's hardly any football, and I don't know what we're going to do with ourselves. No, great three games, and I'm glad there's a bit of a respite as well. Three's fine. The annoying thing, though, is if you're going to have a three-game day, and I'm fine with it, I'll allow it, do you need the midnight eastern time slot on a three-game day you know what i mean like i don't i don't love that yeah oh actually no it is a four-game day i take it back so it's france senegal iraq norway argentina algeria but but the reason you're saying it's three-game day is technically speaking for you austria jordan is is tomorrow for you but it is today for me so i should have picked that up um okay sorry it's a four-game day my bad here is a list of players who may not make the starting lineup for France.
32:50Jean-Philippe Mateta, Bradley Barcola, Marcus Thuram, Magnus Aklius, Ryan Cherky, Warren Zaire Emery, N 'Golo Kante. I mean, I think that's a lot of talent that if you said that was the attacking lineup and midfield lineup for a nation, I'd say that nation has a chance to win the tournament. So this is, yet again, a test of managerial acumen and putting the pieces together because Mbappe, Dembele, Due, Olisse, I mean, I think they're all going to start. Presumably, it's an embarrassment of riches.
33:37Michael Timbs:yeah but i but again as we as we've said we expect them to do really well they were kind of my favorites before this the tournament genius um but way to go out on a limb there yeah also wouldn't be surprised with with anything really like as you said it takes a little bit of time like we've seen that every sort of opening game performance exactly what you expect you know Sweden do the business boom sure Germany yeah win their game no frills nothing and then we've seen the polar opposite and we've seen Spain against Cape Verde and and upsets and everything so you don't really know like I expect France are maybe too good to mess it up properly but you know her draws are not out of the question so it will just be fun it'll be fun to see how especially that front line plays together like who does start how they do play together if it does just look a bit all over the shop and it's like almost too much talent and they're all trying to do too much you know I don't know um but it's gonna be a great game I hope so anyway yeah yeah well I think they're they're getting a stiff test to start with because Senegal has a lot of talent uh sadio mani the name people know most but a lot of young talent uh and by i think is a player who plays for psg a 20 year old attacker ismail sar uh ilman and jai yeah yeah i mean there's there's a lot of good players there and they will um they will give france a test i think could be an interesting sort of question about counter-attacking there to keep an eye on him william saliba of course gets his tournament up and running i am interested to see norway i mean against iraq they will be heavily favored i think and and obviously it'll be fun to see what martin odegaard can produce there and you know the less he has to be around erling holland the better but you know soon to be real madrid player erling holland so maybe we detest him just a bit less yeah i don't yeah i hope so uh that that looks like i guess as close to a group of death as you can get yeah unless unless i'm mistaken but i mean poor iraq but france senegal and norway that's that's really tough yeah that is really tough i i think you know if all of them beat up iraq and we don't know if that would happen but if that were to happen they would yeah you know with three points each they might all have a chance to get through but there have been some surprises you don't know and then of course argentina play algeria and you know don't sleep on Algeria that's a team that has some some talent themselves so it could be uh could be a more interesting game than people are expecting I think uh I think that's enough for today now tomorrow we'll come back with a world cup daily where we look at these results and and uh explain why France managed to blow it with all that talent we will also start to look ahead to the England game England still yet to get their tournament underway but that happens tomorrow so we'll we'll preview that obviously um and cover all these games tomorrow and once again timsey absolutely sensational stuff today as always and a pleasure to speak to you about the world cup thank you and yep and i i will say i'm loving your knicks shirt i'm loving your definitely legit licensed apparel uh which you definitely don't even think it's fruit of the loom i i don't even i think someone just vegetable of the loom yeah yeah it's vegetable original authentic vegetable of the loom nick's apparel and it looks good on you as as i'm sure everything does i think we leave it there thanks timsy thank you so much elliot appreciate it yeah this is a pleasure thanks everybody check in with us oh by the way uh we did a christos solis scouting video over on the patreon go check it out uh it's really interesting the last 10 minutes or so we did just his his two knockout games against atleti uh which was really interesting to watch because obviously that was our semi-final opponent really good uh to get a look at him and see what you think of him so let us know what you you think of that.
