In short

Hall of Game year-end special mixing boxing and sports commentary, plus non-boxing awards (fashion), fight-city talk, and end-of-year reflections. Main segments: Roy Jones Jr. on legacy lists and “can’t rewrite history”; Shadour Sanders’ Cleveland Browns draft-drop and response to media bait; boxing year awards (best fit/outfit, biggest upset); upcoming Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua preview; Anderson Silva vs. Tyron Woodley undercard; and which cities/states produce fighters.

Guests

Andre Ward and Roy Jones Jr. (co-hosts). No other named guests appear in the transcript.

Guest backgrounds

Andre Ward is a Hall of Fame boxer and co-host. Roy Jones Jr. is a Hall of Fame boxer and co-host; he also references his Olympic-era experience.

Key claims

Shadour’s character/professionalism shows he’s not taking bait; pressure reveals intangibles. Legacy “lists” lack credibility and history can’t be rewritten. Jake Paul vs. Joshua: Joshua should dominate if in shape; Paul’s best chance is landing early and possibly getting AJ down. Anderson vs. Woodley is framed as a 50-50 boxing “two mules” matchup.

Notable examples

Kazakhstan fans know Roy Jones Jr. from childhood; Shadour drafted 5th round (144th) despite top projections; Crawford’s “Desperado” ring walk/outfit vs. Canelo; upset pick centered on Caleb Plant nearly losing/losing (as cited); fight-city staples: Philadelphia and Ohio (plus Cincinnati, Cleveland, Toledo, St. Louis, Detroit, Florida).

This is your boy, Ward Jones Jr. I'm hanging out with my man, Andre Ward.

2:14We two Hall of Famers will bring y 'all a show called The Hall of Game. A show where we discuss boxing, sports, life, and entertainment from our view. How much better than that can you get? Me and Roy don't always agree. But one thing you will get is a Hall of Fame worth a game. We back on the Hall of Game for the final episode of the year. And before I bring in my co-host, who I've been looking for, I've been looking for him. I've been asking y 'all to look for him. But before I do that, man, I got I got I'm a proud Navy father. I want to shout my son out, Andre Jr. He actually did his boot camp or basic training in P.

2:58Cola in Pensacola, Florida. And now he's stationed in Guam. Son, I love you. I miss you. We're looking forward to you coming home. We appreciate everything you're doing for the country. I just want to give my baby boy a shout out real quick. But I got it. I got to get back to my co-host. So every time I would get the drop on your location, you would go to another location. I ain't talking about statewide. I'm talking about from country to country. So I get the drop, and then you'll move on. I get another drop, then you move on. I got folks looking for you. You're finally back, Roy. We missed you.

3:28We happy you back, man. What's been going on? Man, life been good. Shout out to Pensacola NES, too, because they always support me to the fullest. So your son did a great job at a great place. Glad to hear that. Congratulations to you and him. Life been good, man. I've been going to a lot of boxing tournaments, boxing shows, professional and amateur. The boxing game has changed a lot, man. It's constantly changing every day. And if you don't keep up with what's happening, you can get lost. So, you know, I like to go out and see some of what's going on around the world just so I know. Because like I told you, I'm not a nationwide figure.

4:00I'm a worldwide figure. So when you're worldwide, you got to keep up with what's happening in the world if you're going to make a difference. And I'm the kind of person that tries to make a difference. So I got to know what's happening. Well, how they treat you in these other countries versus how they're doing in the U.S., is it different? Yes, much different. In Kazakhstan, it's like I was Michael Jackson in his prime. You understand me? And it's like these kids, they come out, they show up from four-year-olds on up, know Roy Jones Jr., know everything about Roy Jones Jr. You understand me? So it's like I hear when they talk about this legacy stuff, but it's like, can these guys go to Kazakhstan, four-year-old kids, understand and recognize and respect who they are?

4:36No, they cannot. So that list, they don't mean nothing to me. All them lists, they don't mean nothing to me. I look at reality, what God does. I look at God's work. God take me. I'd be all over the world and people in every country I go to be like, we want to meet Roy Jones Jr. We want a picture. We want an autograph. We want whatever, because they love and revere who Roy Jones Jr. is, what Roy Jones Jr. stood for and still stands for. So the rest of it, I don't care about. Yeah, we're not going to reference who the list came from. It's a lot of lists floating around. Yeah, I don't really care.

5:07Anybody can make them. anybody can create them but when one thing you cannot do though people try all the time is they try to rewrite history like history is s what has been done is what has been done what's set in stone is set in stone for the rest of our lives and what people try to do is they try to get creative and they try to you know mix and match and well i i didn't really like this guy so i'm gonna put this guy ahead of this guy just know you could do that everybody got can have an opinion everybody can have a say but the say isn't really respected and you lose credibility any credibility you had when you start to put out all decade list or you know 21st century list and you don't have certain names on there or you got certain names on there that uh how that happened you just lose credibility so y 'all can do what you do it's your platform it's it's it's your prerogative but just know man you cannot rewrite history no matter how hard you try before we jump into this boxing business, Roy, you know, we like to have at least one non-boxing take.

6:09We're not just former fighters and boxing fans. You know, we're sports fans. The Shador Sanders Cleveland Browns situation has been polarizing for, I believe, the nation, but certainly for myself. And this is a young man who was on many boards. Mel Kuyper had Shador Sanders going number one, but many people didn't see Shador Sanders ever slipping past the second round, and he didn't get drafted until the fifth round as the 144th pick. Some were saying it's collusion, it's to teach him a lesson. You know, the shield, the NFL, they want to send a message to Shadour, but more importantly to the Sanders family that, hey, this isn't going to be your show.

6:55We're going to do things the way we do things. That's not proven, but that's what a lot of people have been saying. And credit to Shador for not taking the bait because he's been baited multiple times after the draft, but then also since he's been drafted by the Cleveland Browns and he hasn't taken the bait. And that's not just media training. A lot of people say he's media trained. No, he's got good character and he has a lot better character than I think a lot of people thought he was going to have, because to be a projected first round or early second round pick and drop as far as he dropped, that can be very embarrassing.

7:34That can be very discouraging. But I've seen Shador Sanders up to this point do nothing but respond like a consummate professional, like he's been in the league 10, 12, 13 years. You know, reporters try to throw some bait out there, and it's really a knock on them, and it's really showing them how they feel about him because bro why would you try me like that why would this is this is national me this is worldwide media that's listening why would you ask that kind of question about my head coach if if if you thought I was intelligent enough to answer it the right way why would you do that and I think reporters don't realize that they ask certain questions and they don't realize that that's really a reflection on you brother but for asking me that right now because you know and I know that I can't answer that the way I want to or I'm not going to answer the way you want me to.

8:24Roy, where are you at with Shador Sanders? He's had several starts late in the season. He didn't get a lot of first team reps throughout the year. Yesterday was a tough game, but man, he's had great moments and some great games, and he's still got a lot of buzz. Yeah, I gotta be really careful here because my wife is looking at me, and she won't get mad because our son is trying to go to the NFL, so she don't want me to speak my true mind, so I gotta keep a muzzle on what I gotta say. You understand me? I respect it. The facts of the matter is that I've been kind of upset and humiliated about the whole situation since it happened.

9:00I text Deion earlier in the year and told him to tell his son, keep his head up. He's very smart, doing the right thing. He just played football and enjoyed himself. We know wrong treatment when we see it. And for me, in 2025, this is still going on. It's humiliating. You know, it's disgusting that we live in a place where in 2025, this kind of activity is still taking place. You know what I'm saying? And I'm sorry, but my mind is my mind. I am allowed to speak my mind. And that is effed up that that's going the way that's going. Because you know he was supposed to be the number one draft pick, not a number one draft pick.

9:32He was supposed to be the number one draft pick. But word got out that, I mean, they got the call, no, don't draft him. And he didn't get drafted by no team. Not just one team, no team. Then the team that did get him, I found out yesterday, I heard somebody say that somehow with Deion, made a through water on the coach back in the day or something. I don't know. and that's why the coach don't like, I don't know what the hell, but it don't matter what it is. There's so many stories around it that it's crazy, but it's like how can you draft a player that's supposed to be number one? Y 'all wait and don't let him get drafted until the fifth round or whatever it was.

10:08Then you usually draft him and sit him down. And every time he go out there and play, he's sure he's the best quarterback on the team. He might be one of the best quarterbacks in the league. He's sure every time you put him on the field. You know what I'm saying? Until yesterday, yesterday might have been the work they had. that he might have had three interceptions yesterday. That's the first time, but he ain't got the reps with the first team. He ain't got to play like he was supposed to get to play from the get-go as a starter being the guy that led the nation in passing yards last year. So it's a whole lot going on there.

10:34And like I said, it's bad to see that this kind of activity is still going on in 2025 and finna go into 26 in our country. So it's just crazy, you know. It befottles me. yeah it's man it's a lot of ways you can feel about this and but i always try to look for the response right like whether it's boxing or whether it's any high level sport things are going to happen it's not going to always go according to plan but i love shador's response you got to know that offline at home he has moments you got to know that he's having conversations with his father like man pops what's going on with this what you think about this his father has been there and done that right and but Shador has been in the spotlight since he's been a kid they had a reality show that you know where the world knew who Deion's family was he was a top prospect in high school he bought out in college and just to see his response man is a powerful powerful thing for me and sometimes God puts you in those positions because he's making you into something greater maybe Shador doesn't become all that he's supposed to be if he gets that first second round third round pick or that you know excuse me the if he becomes a first round pick or goes in that first round there's some things that I think Shadour is gaining from this moment that you can only gain from going through it is it fair no I don't seem fair is it right no I don't seem right but sometimes guys looking at that situation different and I don't know why he's going through this or why this is happening but man Shadour Sanders response not just when he has a camera in his face But on the field, at practice, man, it's a powerful, powerful thing.

12:20And every athlete, I don't care what age you are, should take notes from Shador Sanders on how you respond to the things that come your way. You're preaching to the choir. Same thing happened to me in the 88 Olympics. Same exact thing. I couldn't respond how I wanted to respond. I had to respond the way I would want a person to represent my country or respect my country in my response. This kid was raised by a Hall of Famer. He's responding like he was raised by a Hall of Famer. He's having Hall of Fame responses as a rookie. You understand me? You understand me? You understand me? So it's like it does not surprise me because the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

12:59It's just a matter now how high the apple is going to rise because it's going to rise. Whether it be here or somewhere else, it's going to rise. You understand me? They can't hold it down because when God put his hands on it, ain't nobody going to be able to do the stopping. it. And then they know how to be able to stop this either. So it's just the facts. Like I say, they try to ignore it all. Like you said, not even put me on the list. I'm too big for that list. Why would you put me on the list? Right. I can dig it. I can dig it. Last thing I'm going to say on this point is you don't know what you have in you until the pressure comes.

13:34You may think you know. You may have shown a glimpse of what you think you know about what's on the inside. these intangibles. But when the pressure really hits, like the pressure really hit, that's when you see what you're really working with. You better believe it, man. You better believe it. How long I been saying that? About some of you old fighters that don't fight? How long I been saying that? Okay, now you're coming down to my street. Now you're talking my language, sir. That is really good. That's real talk right there. That's what I live by. Absolutely. I want to switch gears since this is the last show of the year.

14:07You know, most sites and YouTube and all this stuff. They want to get into the end of the year awards and it's always the prospect of the year, the best punch of the year, best knockout of the year. But we do things a little bit different on the Hall of Game and with all the smoke. So we're going to go a slightly different direction. We love fashion on this show. I thought you love fashion, but you told me, nah, that's my wife. You know what I'm saying? I put my joint stuff on, but I ain't really into it like that. But the truth of the matter is, is Roy, like the youngsters say, You put it on.

14:39You had it on throughout your whole career in the ring and outside the ring. I want to start one of the awards that I want to give is the best fit, the best outfit. They say if you look good, you feel good. That was true. If my sparring stuff is right, it's going to be a bad day for you. If my boxing boots is right, like when I came to Pensacola. Don't know why I still travel with my stuff, but I did. I didn't come in there to do no slap boxing with nobody or do no sparring with nobody. But I promise you, I changed clothes and we were getting ready to shoot our segment on the ranch. And I looked down at my shoes.

15:17I said, oh, we and I looked in the mirror and I had one of my old boxing boots. They were brand new. Not not not a mark on them. I said, hey, man, I hollered at one of the youngsters in the gym. I said, come on. Then I looked at Kevin Newman because, you know, Kevin Newman is younger than me. so you know how the youngsters do they respect you but but they but they want to see about it I said come on get in the ring that wasn't because I felt good physically that day that was because I had on the right shoes so I want to talk about the best fit of 2025 Stephen Fulton came in with what the denim shorts with the Timberland boots that was crazy crazy creativity him and the shoe surgeon they cook something up crazy but I think I'm gonna go a different direction I I give Fulton credit and many will say he's the number one fit of the year because of the creativity and just the way you know the blue denim jeans with with with the wheat Tims but man I'm gonna give it to Terrence Crawford with his fight with Canelo Alvarez and I'm gonna tell you why when I look at a fit it's not just oh that's a good fit or that's good creativity I'm looking at your colorway i'm looking at the meaning behind your outfit are you trying to send another message and i love terrence crawford's outfit because most of the time when an african american fighter fights a hispanic fighter they'll do the mexican colors like floyd we've seen javante do it we've seen floyd do it we've seen other people do it terrence did it a little bit different his inspiration was the movie desperado so he had on black red and green love the colorway but the way the way they did it in the collab with off white i'm not a big everlast boxing boot guy a little bit bulky for me but that's who terrence is with man and the way everlast collabed with off white with the colorway and the entrance with the desperado theme song brother, I got to give this award to Terrence Crawford for 2025.

17:17I can't get that award to Terrence Crawford. I got to get it to Fulton because Fulton had the outfit of the century. Fulton came in with the outfit that took it back. It's going to be hard to beat Fulton's outfit for a long time because of the creativity, the fact that it can go to the streets. You can take that same outfit and go put it on the street and be dope with it. You heard me? So he took the streets and brought the streets to our arena, which is what I think we all should always try to do. Make that connection. He made that connection that people can remember from now on. You know what I mean?

17:53They'll never forget that. Right. A lot of people ain't gonna remember that Desperado Cullen movie and all the stuff you just said, but that's what he did. That's gonna be remembered from now on. Now, now to go a step further because I know we're going there too, I think, but for the ring walk, Terrence Crawford number one for sure. Because the way he did that with that movie, what that movie stood for, and the things he did in that, that was dope. That's one of the dopest ring walks of all times to me. You understand me? So his ring walk, yes, it's impeccable. Not to be touched with this year.

18:28You understand me? But the outfit, I got to give it a default. Got to give it a default. He probably the pick for the number one outfit because of creativity and because it's more memorable, right? but I think a little bit different man you know I appreciate that you know but I also got to ask myself would I wear that that that's that's also what gets me excited them could the colorway that Terrence Crawford had for Canelo and with the ring walk and everything else in the off-white because I'm a big off-white fan too right right man I got to give it to Terrence Crawford on that one but what about the biggest upset of the year there were some upsets throughout the year and And some would say Roley Romero, Ryan Garcia, Terrence Crawford, Canelo Alvarez.

19:13And I see a lot of people switching up on this Crawford-Canelo stuff. I see a lot of, oh, we knew he was going to win. How about that Terrence Crawford? Come on now. I saw a lot of people, even Crawford fans, online getting at me like, man, why you promoting this fight like that? You know this weight situation ain't right. They got weight classes for a reason. You know Terrence is just trying to get a good payday on the way out the game. What? But I'm a once again give the award to Terrence Crawford. This is the man who had a career starting at one thirty, one thirty five, one forty and many years at one forty seven.

19:53He just had one little one little fight, just one little fight at one fifty fifty four against Majumov. And many said he didn't look good and Majumov looked stronger. Got to realize something that styles make fights. It ain't just wait for weight. is styles. Your style is tricky. You may make me look like I'm not as good as I am because you fought a good fight and you had a good game plan. I think that's what the Majumov situation was, but what it did was, that may have been a blessing for Terrence Crawford because I didn't hear Canelo Alvarez saying he would be willing to accept that fight until after that fight.

20:26Right after the fight, he said no, but some time passed, the money got right, the situation aligned, Canelo Alvarez accepted it. I think that's the biggest upset for me because as a life as a lifer in this game if i'm not on the edge of my seat like this trying to see okay what's gonna happen right now like i know what i think is gonna happen what's but what's actually gonna happen this not really a threat it's not really a big fight in a fight where terrence crawford could have got hurt in that fight he had the 54 fight and then he leap frogs to 168 ain't no feel-out period at really at 54 but at 160 and spent no time at 168 to me given the magnitude of the event given who he did it against i know people say canelo's oh canelo's who he's been for many years fighting the same way same skill set same power all the stuff that made him great was in the ring when he fought terrence crawford that fight for me is the biggest upset given the stakes, who was involved, it was on Netflix, the money, the legacy implications, and the fact that Terrence Crawford jumped two, maybe three weight classes to get it done.

21:37And he demanded the fight. Talk to me. Yeah. That was not my upset of the year because that was kind of highly expected. I know we on this show. I know we on this. I'm just keeping it real. I'm just keeping it real with you. That was expected. I never, if you know Terrence Crawford, by me, if you know Terrence Crawford, Terrence Crawford ain't trying to lose to nobody. We know that, but I'm saying the masses. Yeah, I understand. But what I'm saying, if you know Terrence Crawford, you've seen what Terrence Crawford has done, Terrence Crawford ain't going to lose to nobody. Terrence Crawford ain't going to go in and give nobody nothing.

22:03Canelo, to me, underestimated Terrence Crawford because Terrence came in, Terrence had been 185 for quite some time now, was what people didn't realize. You understand what I've seen in that? You got to remember, this is a guy that went from 154 to heavyweight. I know what I'm looking at. When I seen how big Terrence Crawford was, I said, that's a wrap. If Canelo can't hit him and drop him with the furry punch, it's over with because Bud ain't going to have to lose in nothing. If he's going to lose, then he ain't going to do it. You understand me? So that's not the upset of the year to me. The upset of the year to me was I never thought this guy would almost beat Caleb Plant.

22:38Never thought in 100 years this guy had a chance against Caleb Plant. Never. Never thought he'd beat Caleb Plant. Now, Rolly, I told the guys, I can't rock. I said, listen, if Rolly hits Garcia, you're going to see a different fight take place. Man, it ain't going to happen. I said, Roley is a watered-down version of Prince Nassim Hamid. Yeah, but that's a lot of water. But he can punch, though, bruh. He can punch. Y 'all ain't understanding. He can punch. I'm just keeping it real. But the guy from, I think, I kept saying, nah, that's a lot of water. I said, but listen, if he hit him, it's going to change the way things go.

23:14He hit him that second round. No, no. Explain that part to me. When a fighter gets hit with something and it changes the game plan and the course of the fight. Stay there for a second for me. What do you mean by that? a lot of guys that have been either knocked out or rocked before, when they get hit, it takes them back. You remember how your boy, your boy, Keith one time was talking about the towering Inferno. He was telling the truth about that. Warning, warning. Exactly. When they get hit, them alerts go to going off on them. You understand me? And unless you strong-minded, you can't ignore them alerts if you ain't strong-minded.

23:47Brian has had so many issues already with his life. You know he's not, he have many issues all the time. having those mental issues mean that if you get hit, them lights are going to go off in your head because you already have issues. You understand me? So I knew if Roley did hit him in them first two rounds, them lights were going to go off and it was going to change the process, change the whole thing with the fight. And that's exactly what happened. So that was not upset to me either. Now, the other fight was upset too, you talked about the boy from London, but I know neither one. I know Josh Taylor.

24:18Josh Taylor, yeah. But I don't know what Josh Taylor is going to show up for me either. So that was kind of, yeah, and I didn't know Azuman. So I heard Azuman was good. So I wasn't surprised by that either. But Caleb Plant situation, I was completely taken back by that. I never expected Caleb Plant to lose to that guy. So that was my upset at the year. I'm not judging at all. I'm just kind of giving you what mine was. I'm not saying for the whole public. Because the public see boxing different than I do, you know, so. It's subjective. Yeah, it's subjective. Yeah, I agree. People that knew boxing, like really knew boxing, I'm not even saying like pundits.

24:51I'm saying like people that lived it you knew that okay this isn't a given fight for anything can happen like Canelo can hit a gear and something can happen it's fighting, it's boxing but the other part you felt like but Crawford should get this done this Bud, Bud is not finna go if you ain't 100 % if you ain't 100 % know what you're doing you not finna beat Bud and Canelo has a few if you is 100 % You know what I'm saying? No, you're not. Yeah, yeah, but Canelo has a few flaws that people have not been exploiting. You understand me? And I knew Bud was going to exploit those flaws. And the thing that I kept telling people even before the fight was made, long before the fight was made, was that I can't bet against Terrence Crawford because I haven't seen the blueprint to beat him.

25:38I haven't seen anybody break him yet. I haven't seen him broken where you talked a good game, but then he turned you away, bro. Oh, man, you know, something happened in that fight. yeah you didn't give up but you stopped fighting you stopped trying to win i never saw that from him so nah i kept saying everybody respects canelo's fight game you would be a fool not to but he's got to show me and he wasn't able to show it on fight night we talked a little bit about ring walk you gave it to terrence crawler for his desperado theme ring walk and steven nelson who i've had as a sparring partner he he creates all the inspo so i love that his family attached to it and rascendo robles was was the one out there doing it he was doing all the stuff singing he that's his childhood friend like that's powerful right like to be able to give your people that you've come up with an opportunity in your biggest moment on the biggest stage i i love that kind of stuff so it take it take it's even deeper than just the inspo it's it's family My brother created this But then my other brother that I came up with Robles He used to be a boxer I heard he was a very good boxer Before he stopped He's up there singing with his band Doing his thing, getting that exposure And Terrence Crawford sealed the show with the performance So we gotta get Terrence Crawford getting a lot of awards this year Official awards Unofficial awards That's what happens when you step up Like you're supposed to And you call for the biggest fights and you perform like you're supposed to.

27:15It's a lot of words that come with that. It is. The wait was worth it. Positive affirmations and all the hard work. The keys to your dream home from the vision board have been secured. Yeah, I'm real interested on this one. historically what are some of the the best fight towns, fight cities that you know, that you can point to and say yeah they always got some real ones that come out of there.

30:42Oh Philadelphia by far the biggest city, the best fight city of all. Philadelphia always been known for producing some of the best fighters of all time. You're talking about that type. You're a fight city for producing Philadelphia is crazy but now don't get it wrong You got Cincinnati. You got Cleveland. You got St. Louis. I mean. You can just say Ohio. Ohio, yeah. You got Ohio. Yeah, you got Ohio. Because you got Toledo, you know. Yeah, so I think Philly is first. But I think Ohio, the state of Ohio probably is, yeah, right up there. Yeah, I got to throw out. I think the same cities and states that have been rocking since I've been a kid.

31:27The game is a little different now, but I'm going to always look at those cities like staples to bring out great fighters. Now, every state and every city has their own challenges, too. Like, we've talked about that with Ohio fighters. Not all, but a lot of them, man, the street's pulling back. And it's a struggle to make it out. We've seen it time and time again. But it's something about the Cincinnati, Cleveland, Toledo. And if I'm missing any other pockets, y 'all forgive me, but Ohio, the state of Ohio, I don't know what them kids been eating and drinking throughout the years, but they always come and they all can fight.

32:04Even the guys that wasn't the top guys in the amateurs, they still bad. And fighting to them was like, it's just what we do. We got gyms on every other corner. We got gyms in this neighborhood, that neighborhood. And I'm always pay homage to Ohio. Detroit too, Michigan Flint Detroit The Motor City Michigan produces talent. What you think about the New York fighter though? Talk to me about that. New York produces talent too, but New York has so many people that it's hard to not find fighters with that many people. They got more people than most of these other states that we're talking about because how many people We got Florida ain't bad either.

32:51Florida can produce some real stuff too. But I'm going to keep it real. When I went to the first National Junior Olympics, one region, the region that the St. Louis team came from, just about every kid on the team was from St. Louis. And that's the young ones. That's the young ones coming up. You understand me? So, you know, if they're at the top at the Junior Olympic level, in two years they're going to be at the top of the open level. And that's exactly how it almost happened. I mean, they were always right there at the top. So to me, St. Louis on a whole, probably in my time, was one of the most dominant cities.

33:27And like you say, Ohio is right there with them. Outside of yourself, who, I don't need specific names, but like to me, Florida is not something I think of when I think about great boxing places. Like that's what drew me to you is I'm like, man, I ain't never heard of Pensacola, Florida. Where did they get this guy from? How did they create him in that small place? That's one of the reasons why I was drawn to you as a young kid because I knew about Florida, but I didn't know nothing about Pensacola. What comes out of Florida? Well, when I was a young kid, when they had amateur boxing on TV and they used to show the United States versus other countries in amateur boxing, two of the best fighters they had were named Clifford and Bernard Gray.

34:14They were both from the Boca Raton area in Florida. two of the coldest amateurs you ever wanted to lay eyes on. People don't know that. And they had a third brother named Donald Gray. People don't know that, but the Grays were really who taught me how to use my shoulders when I punched. They taught me so much about boxing. After I went and watched them fight once at the Sunshine State Games, they were so far above everybody else. I was like, whoa, this is what real amateur boxing is about. They were the ones to open my eyes to what it took to be a real amateur champion. Those guys were not, they didn't do very well as pros, I don't think.

34:53I don't know why, but as amateurs, these dudes were like two of the top in the nation. Look them up, Bernard and Clifford Gray, two of the best amateur fighters you ever wanted to see. And like I said, they had a brother, a third one I think, his name was Donald. But they never really prospered as professionals, which is why I went down. So other than that, man, we had a lot of guys that did a lot of different things. Andre Berto, Nate Campbell. Nate Campbell, Duval County. You heard me. You got Nate. You got Jeff Lacey. You got Tarver. You had Winky Wright. You had the other player that could punch real hard.

35:27Can't think of his name. But it's quite a few guys we have down here in Florida that were the truth. You have to look them up. Matter of fact, the one that just fought not long ago, Lubin. Lubin was a Florida boy. Yeah, there's quite a few of them. If I'm missing y 'all, I'm sorry, but it's a lot of them from Florida that have made a name for themselves in the amateurs and the pros. So, yeah, it's a few more than you know. But you definitely have to mention D.C. You have to mention Maryland. Yep. Right, Jersey. You definitely got to mention California. Most people know more about Southern California, L.A., and what comes out of that.

36:04But, you know, it's a few good guys that came up from up north too. Texas too? Texas too. It's a lot of great fight time. I can't just award one, but Philly for me is one of them places that's different. Like Philly and Ohio for me, I'm going to always respect that because I seen it as a baby coming up. And they always had hitters. They always had cast that could fight. And they always had great coaches. You listen to them coaches, you're like, you know what he's doing. You know what he's talking about. That's why them fighters are the way that they are. So, Roy, we got the Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua fight coming up this Friday, December 19th at the Casillas Center.

36:48And Jake Paul went from fighting a man that was 130, 35, probably 138 pounds on a good day soaking wet. to facing his replacement, Anthony Joshua, who contractually cannot be heavier than 245 pounds. Not a 10-round fight. It's not a 12-round fight. It's an eight-round, three-minute round fight with 10-ounce gloves. Talk to me about this fight, Roy. I don't know what to make of it. I'm going to give my opinion after you shoot. I like Jake Paul a lot. I think this is one of the most dangerous fights he's ever going to fight. Yeah, if he can hit AJ, he got a chance to get AJ down too because when you're that heavy, and we know AJ has been down before, you do have a chance if you can put a good one on his chin.

37:35However, AJ is a former Olympian, a former World Heavyweight Champion. Gold medalist. I don't see no way in the world that a former gold medalist, former Heavyweight Champion of the world, is going to let Jake Paul beat him. Now, unless he's completely out of shape. If he's completely out of shape, anything can happen. But if he's in shape, no. As you saw what happened when Ngannou came and tried that with him, right? No, he said no. Because he was not just a high-class professional. He was a high-class amateur, a top-notch amateur, a gold medalist at the Olympics. These guys know how to box. You understand me?

38:13They just learned a few minutes ago they know how to box. So if you don't have that in you or some real killer in you, some sacrifice to eat two or three to get you one, you're not going to beat him. Yeah, Jake Paul is not going to be able to eat two or three from Anthony Joshua to get the one. That's my point. So, yeah. So what's supposed to happen is everything that you just described for every reason that you just described. There's no way, even if Anthony Joshua is not in tip-top shape, that Jake Paul is supposed to do anything with him. Right. It's not supposed to happen. So what's supposed to happen is Jake Paul is going to go in there, try to move around, try to sneak shots and hold, try to get a right hand through.

39:03And he can get a right hand through. Don't get it twisted. I agree with what you're saying. Jake Paul has been around long enough where he can sneak a shot in. Anthony Joshua better take the shot. He's not supposed to get hurt or wobble by Jake Paul. it's not supposed to happen Anthony Joshua he got his own reputation on the line he's got the the sport of boxing on his shoulders like the sport is quietly saying hey man go represent like that's cool what Jake Paul is doing with these events with certain guys but you're not certain guys you are who you are go get it done and make it look like he don't belong in there with you that's what's supposed to happen if Anthony Joshua is not on point what his own point mean maybe he's not in tip-top shape it's rumored that he's coming off of a shoulder injury don't know what what shape that shoulder's in if he's underestimating Jake Paul I still don't think Jake Paul can beat him even given those circumstances but this is boxing some can graze off the top of your head and all of a sudden your body and your legs start doing some funny things that can happen but short of jake paul ducking his head and closing his eyes and landing a haymaker which he's going to be looking for all night long or as long as the fight lasts this should be a fight that anthony joshua dominates from start to finish you are the bigger man you are the more experienced man this isn't a boxing match where we go tit for tat and you throw a shot not duck and i try i'm a this this that old george formula i got my hands up high and I'm walking to you block block block bing bing bing block block bing bing because every shot I hit you with you supposed to feel it so why would I try to duck like I'm a smaller weight fighter like I'm a middleweight or super or light heavyweight Joshua is a big heavyweight okay he should act like a big heavyweight and he should walk Jake Paul down with a high guard get them hands out there with them punches hit your arms and hit your hands and not your head of your chin and he should be able to walk Jake Paul down and take care of business as if he is who he says he is and who we know him to be.

41:15Okay, but if Jake Paul hurt him, what you gonna do? I just said it's possible. No, no, no, no, I said if Jake Paul hurt him, what you gonna do? What you mean? I mean, if Jake Paul gonna hurt him, what that means you can do to him? Brother, listen. I'm getting old, Roy. Listen, I'm getting old. No, no, no, no. I'm about to answer your question. I'm about to answer your question. It doesn't matter who wins this fight. Man, I come in peace, man. I'm coming and I'm going to do my job. I'm going to be a part of the event. I'm going to work the event. But, man, neither one of these brothers want to fight me, man.

41:50And I'm at the point in life, Roy, I don't chase. I ain't never chase. I ain't never chase to fight. It's a lot for me to come and say what I said. Say, bro, we can do it. It's a lot for me to do that because I got so much going on. it's not really like I'm not a full-time fighter no more right so it's not really something I'm chasing or trying to make happen but neither one of them maybe when I'm 50 maybe when I'm 48 49 something like that start creeping around 50 now we can say something they're not going to say nothing right now and it's all good but that right hand it's not supposed to land Roy because we know it can it's not supposed to land Roy If it lands, I'm going to turn to a promoter and say Hey, I need I need to see Andre on the other side of this Because Andre got a better right hand than him So I need to see this So if that right hand lander have any kind of effect to it I'm going to turn and promote it immediately I'm going to call it and hear it myself Hey buddy, what the problem is?

42:53I hear you I'm telling you now I'm telling you what I'm going to do So be ready We're going to see what happens This Friday is going down If you see Len Wopper, get up off the couch and go hit the road. I'm going to get you three miles in. I'm representing you from that point forward. Yes, sir. All good, man. It's not supposed to happen, though, Roy. I ain't said what's supposed to happen. I'm telling you, if it do happen, you may well get up off the couch and go get three miles in because I'm going to get up off the couch and go get my telephone. Joshua, represent, man. He better. You got the sport counting on you.

43:29Represent. The undercard, though, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley. What did I tell you about two Mews a long time ago? Two Mews make a good damn race, right? Right? That's a six-round cruiserweight fight. That's a good damn race. What is that going to look like? That's a good damn race. We don't know. That's why we want to see it because it's a good damn race. It's six-round cruiserweight, but it's two former UFC guys who both were legends pretty much in their game and at their time, but now they're stepping back into the boxing ring where I think Anderson definitely has an advantage because he has more fights, I think, boxing-wise than Woodley does.

44:06But Woodley is still a tough competitor, so he's going to come at it. But I like Anderson in that fight. But like you said, nowadays when we can't get real fights, we take the best we can get. See, what people fail to realize is most of the time sports is about betting. Whether it's good or bad, it's still about betting. So people want to see fights that they can bet on and have a chance on both sides. You feel me? That's another fight that's going to be pretty much a 50-50 fight. You understand me? If Anderson is like we think he's going to be, he should be able to beat Willie, but Willie is strong and can punch.

44:38So if Willie is able to land something flush on Anderson's chin, anything can happen. So once again, it's two mules, but it's a 50-50 fight. And it's two legends, but they're not in their field. That's why I say two mules. If they was in UFC, two racehorses. You understand me? two thoroughbreds but because they're boxing it was down to two mutes i'm excited for anderson to get a scrap in in octagon or in a boxing ring i interviewed him a little while ago and still in great shape works out all the time he posts a lot of workout videos on his ig page and i said you still want to yes i do anybody i'm ready he kicking looking trying to scratch something trying to trying to he still want to fight and i'm just happy he able to he able to scratch that he able to get get something i'm happy for him man i'm excited to see anderson do his thing man i like tyron willie too he better than me though i wouldn't be on no jake paul undercard but that's another story that's just me i may not i may not be thinking right but i'm gonna stay away from that one man Royce we close out this year 2025 you know just some reflections for me you know man I'm so grateful man for you know being alive number one in 2025 making it through the year man for me this has been a good year you know a lot of work a lot of business a lot of things going on but it's been a tough year in some respects you know life is like be life and sometimes and you know one of the things that I've learned throughout this past year that I'm taking with me in the 2026 is that I like things a certain kind of way sometimes like man okay I got an idea on how it should look and sometimes when it doesn't look that way it can feel like a failure or it can feel like something is wrong and what I'm learning is that that's not always that's not how life works like you can have your idea on how you want something to be you can you can make plans right but when life happens man you got to continue to be grateful and thank God and bless God for it, even when you're going through a struggle.

46:49And for me this year, hitting tough spots and rough moments, people don't see them. We come on here, man, we turn the switch on. We do what we have to do. Nobody knows what, what anybody really has going on in their personal life unless they share it. But what's gotten me through, man, is just finding a place of being thankful and grateful, man. This didn't happen, but look what did happen, man. You know what I'm feeling this way, but man, I still got a lot to thank God about. I got a lot, man, look at my family. My family is healthy. I'm still here. You know, I'm just blessed, man. Even with struggles, when we take losses, things happen.

47:24There's still so much to be blessed about. If you just look around for a second, it may not be a perfect picture, but it's something that you can find to be thankful for. So for me, man, going in the end in this year of 2025, there has been a good year and a rough year all at the same time. Thanksgiving, man, and being appreciative has really gotten me through. How about yourself? Same here, man. I always thank God daily because the fact that I can even be on here with you, Andre, and have a full conversation, I've got a box for 45 years of my life. 45 years of straight up head contact day in and day out.

48:03You understand me? I mean, to be the box as long as I have and still have the mind to be able to listen and communicate and project things to the public, to the fans that they want to hear about, to be able to be knowledgeable still enough to know and to enlighten them on certain things is all a blessing as well. So, man, I thank God daily for my beautiful family, the beautiful friends I have, the beautiful life I have, because my life just is an open book. I have a life that consists of roaming the world, not just the country, the world. And to have that life is difficult yes it's very difficult but to have a life like that you can't run from what god has gave it has put out there for you already like i told jared anerson when god is blessed to do something and i'm saying you're trying to duck and dodge it you're gonna do it if that if that whale gotta take you and spit you back where god wants you to be at you're gonna do it with other you understand i mean those are just examples of the book of that the bible gives us about how god gonna put you where he wants you to be so you can try to run from this you can try to duck and dodge it ain't happening you may well praise god thank him for whatever it is and go do the best job that you can do and whatever it is he put out there for you to do and that's what i do my whole life so thank you for that man for giving me that moment to share that with people uh if you don't believe in god something wrong with you yeah and you know the thing is if you're supposed to be doing something in life and you're running from it or you're avoiding it you're not gonna have the peace you're looking for even if the situation is hard even if what you've been called to do do is difficult you gotta you gotta go through it you gotta go through it to get to it because if you avoid it and you think it's a better road out there you're not gonna have a piece that you're really really looking for and i'm not big on new year's resolutions but i do try to be better in every category roy going into a new year and throughout the new year man i know it's the same for you but one thing that we will keep doing god say the same is continue to build this show in this platform it's been a great ride we're only getting started we have a lot more to give a lot more to say and i'm just grateful for the auto smoke team as a whole everybody from from from matt all the way across just the team you know um for the hard work the dedication and committing to excellence man it's a lot of work that goes on with these shows people think that we just turn the camera on and just start talking.

50:36That's a very small part of what this is. It's a whole production company. It's a lot of late nights and early mornings to make these kind of things happen, man. And we're going to continue to apply pressure and we're going to continue to try to give something to the game. We're going to try to give back, give something to the game the way we have in 2025, man. I believe it's only going to be better for all the smoke production, all the smoke fight, hall of game, art award, war room, you name it. I was going to say, thank you, man. I appreciate you bringing me on this, man. You and the fellas, it's been nothing but the best situation to keep us in the public's eye and to give the public a point of view that they probably couldn't get nowhere else.

51:19You know what I'm saying? Me and you both were two of the best commentators to ever do the job. You understand me? And now to have our own platform to be able to give it to people is a beautiful thing. It's actually a beautiful blessing from God because nobody wanted to hire us in a way anymore to say what they want us to say. So we find a way, thank God, to Stax and my boy there to be able to see our own show and do it how we want to do it. So it's a beautiful thing, man. Like I said, thank you again for calling me. Thank all y 'all for getting me involved. I love speaking to people. I love speaking my words to people because I feel like God blessed me to be able to deliver words to the public.

51:59So thank you again for having me, man. And it's been nothing but the best ride. and I look forward to more to come in 2026. Absolutely, bro. And I appreciate you too, man. Like for me, you know how I feel about you. You know how I've always felt about you. And I never forgot the letter that I wrote Brad Jacobs, who was the head of your company Square Ring at one point in time, right before you fought Vinny Pazianza. And I fell in love with this dude that had a duck tail all the way across the back of his head. And he was dancing, going to the ring. He was dancing in the ring. And the dude was different, man.

52:34And that dude was you. And to be doing this show with you and to be sitting across from you and just doing what we doing, man, it's a blessing, man. I'm living a dream every day, bro. So I appreciate you. And man, we thank you, bro, for a great 2025 and great things up ahead in 2026. And we appreciate you, everybody that's been tapping in, following the movement, giving feedback, giving suggestions, shouting us out. We appreciate y 'all. We can't do what we do without the viewing audience, man. So thank you. We want to continue to give y 'all what you're looking for and a lot more on top of it.

53:07That's it for 2025 for Hall of Game, for all the smoke. But it's not the end. We got a lot more coming in the new year.

53:27I'm U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. We all get distracted when we drive, whether it's from our phones or kids in the backseat bickering. But how we handle these distractions can be a matter of life or death. Before you get on the road for your next road trip, please put your phones on silent and take a mental note to focus on driving.
