In short
The episode is a “health update” and “sober Buckleys” chat, plus a game/quiz-show special. Claire describes being hospitalized after a virus caused severe dehydration: couldn’t keep food or water down for ~5 days, ambulance transport, IV fluids, antibiotics, and abnormal bloodwork; she’s still not fully recovered. James adds his own health issue: a genetic condition involving lipoprotein A, raising cardiovascular risk; he’s been told there’s nothing to do besides diet/lifestyle changes, and he’s cut alcohol and increased water/electrolytes due to fear of dehydration.
Key claims
Tremphaya (for Crohn’s/ulcerative colitis) is dosed as subcutaneous injection or IV infusion every four weeks, then injections every four/eight weeks; requires infection/TB screening; risks include serious allergic reactions, infections, and liver problems.

02Hello. Welcome to the Buckleys, the podcast where we sit down, have a chat, moan a bit and invite you into our lives before we do get into it. I need to let you know that you can get in touch with your stories and questions for us by emailing thebuckleys at platformmedia.uk or you can message us at thebuckleyspod on Instagram and TikTok. And don't forget to follow and subscribe to the show on Spotify or whatever podcast app that you like to use. And if you do enjoy the show, why not go ahead and leave us a review? It just has to be five stars. It can be a genuine review and we like it. We don't get genuine reviews.
39It's been a joke. So our joke is that, you know, the reviews we get are shit podcast five stars. because I think the stars are the important thing. I want to be able to put five stars if we ever make a poster or something like that, some sort of banner. Absolutely. I want all these five-star reviews that I can pull up. And it's bled into our other things that we do. So, Claire, you've got a podcast now, haven't you? I know. Pretty scary. I haven't talked about that, yeah. Yeah, because you won't talk about it. Hey, this isn't the place. This is this weird thing. This is the Buckley House. I was telling Claire, I was like, we've got to mention your podcast that you're launching.
13She was like, no, no, don't. I don't want to bother people. It's out on Fridays. It is. It's really good. But, you know, you've been getting five-star reviews. I do my podcast with Jo as well. That's been getting five-star reviews. And the producers and stuff that work on that show are really confused. Yeah. They don't understand. Because the comments are all terrible. Yeah. This was so shit. Yeah. And we have to be like, it's fine. I'd rather drive nails into my skull. Five stars. Yeah. Things like that. No, it's just, it's our boys. It's us, yeah. It's our gang. It is, yeah. Love those guys.
49What's been going on in our lives, Claire? Oh, God. Where do we start? Well, you might have noticed that last week's episode was a bit of a carpet, wasn't it? Was it a best of? It was a best of. That must have been hard. Well, no, to be fair, it was listener emails, the best listener emails. And some of them are funny, obviously. but we had to put that out because I've not been very well. No, you ended up in the old hospital there, didn't you? I was in the hospital and everything kicked in overnight. I had an ambulance come and take you away. Yeah. Finally. Yeah. Yeah. Strapped me into a wee chair, took me down the stairs.
29We're still not 100 % what went wrong. Yeah, so basically it was some sort of virus that I had had but it was slowly sort of chipping away at me and I was getting more and more dehydrated and I didn't even really know. You couldn't keep anything down. Until it hit me. It hit me one day and then for about five days I was just being sick, couldn't eat, couldn't even keep water down and I just got really, really ill. I feel a little bit bad because I went away, I was working, I was making a TV show. You were. And you were calling me up, sort of, I'd get to my hotel and I'd check, see how you're getting on.
10You'd be going, I'm really ill, I'm really sick. I was going, all right, I mean, see how you feel in the morning, don't you? You're fine, don't you? Everyone's ill, mate, don't worry about it. I came home and the only way I can describe you, when I saw you lying in bed and you couldn't get out of bed and shit like that, I could see what you were looking like. you look like when little weak Lord Voldemort was being carried and he's got his little thin little legs like hanging out and he's got like a little shawl over him. And I was like, oh fucking hell, she really is sick. Yeah. Oh no. Yeah. Got an ambulance, didn't we?
51Yeah. Because you couldn't move, you couldn't get in the car and stuff. You were so weak. Well, we called Dr Danny. We called Dr Danny again. And he was like, and Dr Danny is the doctor you want because see if you're fine, he will be like, you're going to be all right. Tough it out. You'll be fine. Yeah. He was like, call an ambulance. I was like, oh no, I'm sick. Yeah. So anyway, I got taken in and just got pumped full of fluids. There you go. That's the title of the show. That's the title of this episode. Claire, pumped full of fluid. Yeah, you got some antibiotics. And then there was something wrong with my bloods and I was missing all this stuff.
31I'm low on this and low on that and everything. So I've been feeling a bit rubbish. You are sickly. As tough as you like to make out you are. I never get sick. I never go. When was the last time I was at the doctors? You've always got... Yeah, you never go to the doctors because, again, it's a sign of weakness. And then you get into a situation... Because I wasn't there. In my defence, I wasn't there. You were there on and off. I was like, I don't know how you feel. But only you know how you feel. So if you need to go to the doctors or go to the hospital or something, and then you need to go. Yeah.
01But you're like, nah, it's weak. Shut up. I just can't be bothered. Going to the doctors is weak. I just can't be arsed. I hate it. Well, and then you end up in hospital. I did end up in hospital. But anyway, I'm on the mend. I'm still not 100%. Yeah. I've got wee shaky legs and stuff. It's been... I just came up the stairs, and I was like... I don't want to steal your thunder, Claire, but I've also had health problems as well. You have, yeah. You have. Yeah, you're laughing. You're laughing. honestly talk about stealing thunder right i had when i genetic disease mate so when i came out when i came out the hospital right i had two days at home and then the doctor was like you need to come back in because we need to check your bloods again so i went back to the doctor and honestly as went and got bloods and all that sorted it when we were leaving james we were standing at the reception, James was like, could I actually put an appointment on for myself?
58I was like, you cannot give me anything. No, I needed to because I had to, again, after what I just told you about not going to the doctor and stuff, in my defence, I've been busy, but I did have some blood test results come back and I needed someone to talk me through. Yeah, that was ages ago. Yeah, I needed someone to talk me through them, but it turns out I do have this, it's something to do with my lipoprotein A, something to do with that. right so go and get it checked out there's nothing you can do about it by the way and the doctor's just been like you need to change it's one of those bought it like that's your diet i feel like that's the answer for everything in it yeah it's weird can't you just like have some medicine or something and i've got this thing i'm at a high risk now for a cardiovascular incident my heart my arteries not my fault but stop clogging them with KFC well I haven't been I've turned it around I've been drinking I think a few people have noticed actually the last few episodes of the podcast I've been drinking water and things you've been worried about that and then I've been ill that was like two weeks ago now and we've not actually our listeners are going to prepare yourself if you're driving you better stop for a minute okay because we have not had a beer well it's in about two and a half weeks me much longer not a touch of alcohol me much longer than you in hardly any takeaways yeah shit does that mean this podcast is going to be really boring now well I'm not I'm not a religious man but sometimes I feel like there is a god that sort of goes that'll teach you because I feel like I've been on this podcast slagging people off that don't drink yeah we have and stuff and now I've been told to try not drink it rain it in I'm going to have a beer soon of course we just had to rain it in I had to rain it in I'm just trying to do like a little reset especially after the fucking tour I think the tour the tour killed us with the alcohol and then we were chatting the other day that was crazy about the way we've been living post-Covid yeah because we and I know that was five years ago but we really that's why we're so ill now we really did we gave it a good old run we really did get into drinking beer during covid yeah every day yeah and uh we sort of carried on yeah but then it was like because it's like right now we need to go back to work and then what do we do at work sit here and drink beer well that's it yeah and i've you know i've been saying that as well i was like well i need to drink beer i need to it's part of my job i've been you know but anyway we've been on a little we've had a little wake up both of us yeah how weird that it came sort of at the same time but i've got you know i'm like an x-man got like a genetic like a shit x-man right yeah yeah where you just might have a heart attack one day there's something wrong with my genes and also uh another little worry is that because it's genetic my children might have it yeah we should probably get that sorted they're fine at their age i think it's once you get to my age that it might become a problem our kids are much healthier than us though apparently I'm just eating a lot less at the moment we're eating better drinking a lot less drinking a lot of water and that's been that's been doing the trick I've got electrolytes today because I can't I've now got this irrational well it's not irrational because it happened but I've now got this intense fear of being dehydrated yeah just because that was so fucking horrendous yeah so now I'm just like constantly on electrolytes and drinking water so let's see how fun this episode is Yeah.
48Welcome to the sober Buckleys. If you thought we were boring before, we're really fucking boring now.
58Yeah, get it down you, Claire. Yeah, go on. I'll have a bit of lemon in that water, please. Rock and roll. Claire, anything you'd like to moan about? You go first, I'll have a think. Okay, you have a little think. I don't know if you could hear me, but yesterday I was on the phone for a while in a different room in the house. Yes. Right. I've had a little thing going on with our internet provider. Oh, God, the internet's a nightmare. It's a really, really long, boring story. But basically, yesterday I ended up having a little fight on the phone. Love it. Because I got annoyed. I've upgraded our internet.
38That was a while ago. Yeah, and nothing's changed. So I got onto the phone and I was like, fuck. My internet was shit, which is why I was like, oh, I better upgrade it. Nothing's changed. In fact, I think it's got about worse. I think it might have done as well, Claire. So I got on the phone to try and get that sorted out. Another really sort of, for a really long, boring story, I've got two phone lines in our house. Yeah. I've got one for the house. so everyone can watch Netflix or, you know, the kids are watching YouTube and stuff. And then I've got a dedicated one into the office so I can get some pure internet.
16Yeah, just for you. When I'm gaming. Yeah, you're selfish. I don't want anyone taking up my bandwidth, right? So I was trying to explain to them and they freak out that I've got two internet, two phone lines. And they're like, what? How did you do that? And I go, I don't know. I asked you to do it about 15 years ago and you sorted it all out. You installed it. I'm still with you all this time later. So you're not supposed to have that. I don't know. So I went, I want to upgrade them both, if that's all right. Yeah. First time I called, I was on the phone for an hour. They were like, we cannot find this other thing that you've got, this other, like it's not connected to your account.
57We don't know what that is. All right. We know that you've got it. It's here, but we can't see it on our computer. Someone will call you back. I was like, okay. Perfect. So I managed to upgrade one of them to upgrade the other one. No one called me back. Obviously. And about a couple of weeks later, I was like, psyching myself up. I was like, right, I've got to get back on the phone. This is going to be another couple of hours of my life that I'll never get back. I was like, listen, two things. I upgraded one internet. It's slower now than when I upgraded it. Two, you said you'd call me back to try and get me to upgrade the other one.
29No one called me back. They were like, right. So then it got to a point where it was like, we don't know how you've got two internets in your house and you can't have two internets. Oh, no. They're going to take it away. So I upgraded to the fastest internet they've got. Yeah. And then I was like, I want to upgrade this other one. They managed to find this special account that I've got. Right. And they were like, oh, that super fast internet's not available in that area. And I went, what do you mean? do you mean the different rooms in the house is a different area? I was like, what are you talking about?
05That makes no sense at all whatsoever. They're like, no, the system just says it's not available. And I was like, I've got it already. I've got it. It's the same building. I've already got it in one place. They said it's not available, right? And they were like, and actually, we're going to cancel that at some point. At some point, it's going to get cancelled. So I went, do you know what, right? because it was costing me a full, it was costing me, it was like, it's fast internet from like five years ago. Right. So it's slow internet for this day and age. Yeah. And it was costing me the same as the fast one that I've got now.
40Yeah. I was like, do you know what, just cancel it then because it's costing me money and it's rubbish. Yeah. Right? And they were like, all right, yeah, no, we can do that. 30 days notice can cost you to cancel. I mean, hang on. Whoa, whoa. I went, first of all, I'm out of contract, so I should be able to cancel whenever. Right. And secondly, you've just told me it's going to be canceled. Yeah. And thirdly, it's costing me, this shit internet is costing me the same as the good internet. And you're, I want to give you money. This is what I said to the guy. I was going, I want to pay for this. I don't want to cancel this, but you're saying.
17It's going to be. It's not available, even though I know it is because I've already got it in a different room. Oh, God. and I was and he was going I was going so you're charging me to cancel now you're charging me to cancel he was going yeah yeah he said he said no no no you just told me that it's too expensive and you don't want to pay for it and I went yeah it's too expensive because it's expensive for the old stuff he went so you know so I've got you he was like I've got you I went alright alright fine bill me cancel it and he went and we'll send you a box so that you can pack up your things and send us the equipment back I went don't send me the box I went charge me for it now I'm not fucking sending it back to you.
54I'm keeping it. And I don't know what point I was trying to make. I went, charge it. I went, no, don't bother with that. Just charge me now. I'll pay for it. So how much is that going to cost? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I said, I'm not sending it back. I'm keeping it. And what if they charge you like fucking 300 quid for that stupid little box? Fine. Fine. I'm going to get it. Pointless? I'm going to get it put in Perspex or something and just display it. Okay. that sounds very stressful I really don't know what point I was trying to make but I said I'm keeping it you're not getting that back you'll never see that again and he went alright fine yeah of course he did you're the idiot here I know I know I know I got caught up in the moment Claire but yeah did I win did I win that No, you never?
50No? It doesn't feel like I won. No, you were bent hour. Yeah. It feels like I've got a bit of a sore bottom. Yeah, yeah. Oh, well. Anyway, right, move on. We'll come back to it when we've got made information. Stay tuned for part two next week. God. James and the internet. This time it's personal. Oh, a little update for you. a couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I'd like to work with Tom Holland yeah I would like to work with Tom Holland who wouldn't I like the way he dresses as well he's got a very classic he's got a very class classic way of dressing what are you going for class or class classic you went for both classic very classic right okay well one of our listeners has come up with a movie that would work for us apparently Ewan Holland so this is Surf Jace at Surf Jace this is a a pitch idea for me and Tom Holland, two titans coming together.
52I mean, that is box office there. That is box office. You get me and Tom Holland in the same film, you are selling tickets. Yeah. Why are you looking like that? It's hot. Do I need to remind you the biggest UK British comedy box office of all time? Do I need to remind you that? So don't fucking start. And I'll be telling Tom Holland that as well if I get this sort of attitude from him. Okay. Right, okay, I'm listening. I go, all right, Spider-Man, you fucking calm yourself down. Yeah, okay. Anyway, Tom Holland and James Buckley as two brothers caught up in a whirlwind of bullets and explosions.
28This is great. Tom, a straight-laced but recently set up to be disgraced MI6 agent, goes on the run and harks back to his childhood estate where his Del Boy-ish estranged brother, James, still lives. I knew sign was coming. Tom provides the brawn. and James provides the bumbling buffoonery. Right, relax yourself. But both soon equal out as they team up to bring Tom's attackers to justice. This James Bond meets hot fuzz hilarity and action-packed gem has to be made. Call Edgar Wright. You're welcome. Not a bad idea. Not a bad idea. Stop encouraging him. Not a bad idea at all. There's people in this room going, me and Tom Holland in an action comedy it's not the worst idea the only problem is how are you going to get in touch with Tom Tom Tom it would be funny if you walked in right now what do you want imagine
37let's make it happen yeah that sounds great okay do it I will start working on it I will okay I will what's this guy getting for sending it in nothing mate Surf Jays what's he getting I don't even have your name I just have your your internet handle so welcome to the cutthroat world of show business there you go you're out mate you're out thanks for the idea you gotta walk over the dead bodies Claire oh absolutely love it hey let's have a quick swipe yes please and then we'll We'll be back with more shit. I don't know. Okay. Right. You okay? Yeah, I'm okay. How are you feeling, Claire? I'm all right.
22You've been told that it's going to take you... Six weeks? Over a month to feel normal again. Yeah, I know. Look at you, still turning up. Only because we've run out of episodes. I know, we've already played the best of. We've played the best of. Had to get in here. Anyway, Claire. Yes. Today, we are talking about one of our favourite topics. TV. Oh, okay. But not just any TV. Okay. Game shows and quiz shows. Love game shows. We do, don't we? Love them. We absolutely love it. What's your favourite? Oof. I think, honestly, I think it's got to be the chase. The chase is good. Is that a quiz show?
57Yeah, of course it is. So what's the difference between a game show and a quiz show? Well, I would say that's a quiz show. And I would say, like, Generation Game is a game show. Do we have game shows anymore? I love quiz shows then. I love question and answer. Love them. Yeah. Just easy to watch, fun. Game show. Game show is like bullseye. Catchphrase, game show. Fucking love catchphrase. Now, we've already spoken about my very successful appearance on Catchphrase, but we've got a YouGov poll here. Right. And they asked what TV quiz show Brits reckon they'd most likely win. Right. So what they'd be better at.
37Right. Now, the first one, that's nuts, is tipping point. I think tipping points are fixed. Tipping point winds me up so much. I think it's a fixed. Because more often than not, the contestants do not know how to time when to drop their coin in. What you've got to do is you've got to wait for that thing to go in. Then you drop it. And as it's sliding out, that thing goes back. That thing goes back. And then you won't get, it won't either land on the coins or it won't, what do they call it, a rider. Right. That's what Ben Shepard calls it. Right. It will just go in and as it's landing, the thing will just start to be going back.
22So it lands flat. It lands flush against the wall. Right. So that when it gets pushed, then it's flat and it's pushing stuff out. I'm not explaining it very well. No, you're not. It's really boring. But the amount of times that people just let it drop and it just lands on top of the, like, riding over the coin. Do you know what's weird about those coins? they're massive they're huge yeah they're like about that big yeah they're huge I always just thought they were like that I know and they sort of you only realise that when he goes right when he's holding it I'm going to put the star one in I know we've got a tipping point we've got a tipping point we've got a tipping point board game we've got a chase board game yeah we've got catchphrase we've got catchphrase we've got family fortunes yeah yeah we do we fucking love this stuff but here we go so people have went for tipping point that they would most likely win yeah I don't think so Because Tipping Point, I think a lot of luck.
13You've got a lot of luck on Tipping Point. I think that coin lands where they want it to land. Catchphrase, that comes in at number two. In at number three, the chase. In at number four, millionaire. What have we had, like, two people win millionaire over the last 30 years or something? And one of them was coughing their way through it. Yeah. Yeah. um the one percent club that's i don't like the one percent club is i don't mind it you love it i don't love it i don't mind it my sister loves it i can't it's too like oh oh i put my shoes on but i have three pairs like how does this it's nonsense you don't like it because you're not good at it oh it's rubbish yeah it's rubbish um countdown never watched countdown what i've never watched countdown oh my dad can't do countdown not good at maths and i can't um spell no and i can't i don't know if this is i bet i've got like a oh here he goes what now i bet this is something i could get diagnosed i can't see anagrams or like if you if you said i'll make a word out of these letters i can't do it i can't see the words i can't i can barely read when they're in the right order okay okay and that's that annoyed me as well when um eight out of ten cats turns into eight out of ten cats does countdown that's when i stopped enjoying the show then right yeah i was like i really used to love our 10 cats and now i've got to do fucking homework and I always just think oh well if I did go on it I'd look like I'd look like a fucking idiot well you never got asked so it's alright yeah it's fine well joke's on them because it's well I don't know keep it bail me for it yeah in fact I'll pay them to not go on it Mastermind I've been on Mastermind yeah I shouldn't have gone on that you didn't do too bad I shouldn't have gone on that my thing was my it's because you didn't get to do your subject though you had to go down your line and there was a couple of office questions that I got wrong that I did know and that's what really annoyed me but the pressure must get to you though my general knowledge was all over the place but the producer told me if you don't know the answer just think of something funny right I feel like you concentrated more on that then if you can't get the right answer try and get a laugh Yeah.
54So I had a couple of, and again, it didn't really work. It was an attempt at a joke, but it was like, what element beginning with C? And I went kryptonite, which I think begins with a K. Yeah, it does. So you were funny and you looked like an idiot. Yeah, so ticked both boxes there, which is great. And then it was like, what small rodent animal or something was reintroduced and I I made myself laugh when I said it and I just said beaver because I because you got to say it I got to say beaver and but the guy who the guy who does that I really like him yeah really lovely guy really nice Eggheads is that still on the TV Only Connect what's that I don't even know that one that's the one we watched on Gogglebox you remember that's all wordy and stuff.
53I was quite good at that. Oh Jesus, that is really boring. It's like, choose your hieroglyphic. Well, welcome. Welcome to posho smarto. And if you don't like this show, then you're obviously working class and an idiot.
17Fair enough. Fuck em. Yeah, fuck everybody. And then of course, 11, least likely to win, University Challenge. Yeah, that was hard. I like what Pilkington said. What did he say? He said he's got to the point now where when he watches University Challenge, he definitely knows he's not going to know the answers. So he just guesses who's going to answer the question. That's funny. Well, what's one? What are those top 11? I won Catchphrase. All right, take Catchphrase then. Next, I'm going The Chase. Yeah, the only problem with the chase is, and why I would never want to go on the chase, I mean, I would love to go on the chase, but why I would hate it is because you're a part of a team.
02Like, it's the four of you. Yeah, we've said this before. And if somebody took a minus or whatever, I would hate that. And I would be honest. Yeah, but also I would just hate, like, let's say I broke back 20 grand. somebody broke back four somebody broke back two somebody broke back one like at the end when you have to split it I'd be going well this is fucking bullshit yeah I want my 20 grand why don't I take my 20 grand and you take your four yeah yeah but I would be honest as well if I was like at the end the last one to go and say the first person's up and then Bradley goes right team what do we think and then the person next to me goes listen if you want to take the minus we just need you back the next person says you could do it I think you could you could take the middle offer but if you want to take the minus you know we need bodies back here I'd go don't and then it comes to me I'd go don't fucking even think about taking that minus either take the either take the what you've earned or take the offer you take the minus lose you better lose you better get caught because you do not want to come back here and get no more yeah no I agree I agree I just don't like the idea of having to split it at the end unless of course somebody won 80 grand and I won too then I'd be like hey come on guys we're a team well let's all stick together I think that makes you a piece of shit correct the polls are revealed that men are generally more confident in their chances of winning quiz shows of course they are yeah I can't know they're generally more confident but you are as well what do you think you win everything not this kind of stuff not like clever stuff no I think you still in the back of your head you're like there's a chance I've got a chance no not not smarty pants stuff I think I'd be good the stuff I think I could do is stuff like the cube or what's that that is it a Japanese one where they bounce on yeah wipe it I reckon I could smash that I know you do yeah you wouldn't I would I don't know where she gets this from I would do you know what else I'd be good at SES who dares wins you wouldn't I'd smash that they couldn't I don't think they could break me your little wrists would snap and stuff and you'd go you'd get all dehydrated well right now I'm not in my prime right now I'd need a bit of recovery time before I before I went to do it right but yeah no I'd be good at that Bear Grylls anything he's what you do I'd be I'd be like stay up come on don't mention Bear Grylls to me oh no we got asked to do Bear Grylls me and the boys like an in-betweener special.
45How funny would that have been? They didn't want to do it. They were too scared. I don't know if they were too scared. They were too scared. That would have been good. No, I think a couple of us wanted to do it, but I think there was one or two of us that were busy. And I know that's not true. Any of us have hardly fucking worked since the in-betweeners, so. Yeah. You were gutted about that one, yeah? That would have been an experience. That was great, yeah. Oh, well. Oh, well. Claire? Yeah? I'd like to mention some iconic game quiz show moments in history. Oh, okay, right. Maybe remind you in our listeners.
22I can see the first one. We've already talked about that. Yeah, we've already mentioned it. Yeah, the cheating scandal, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Yeah. Turned into a TV show itself. It did. I know. Did he ever admit that he cheated? No, I think they've always said they're innocent. I just had a bad cough. Yeah. Love it. Would you ever try and cheat on something? No. I'd be so terrified of being caught out. Yeah. It would be embarrassing, wouldn't it? Now, I do love to cheat, like, when we're playing and stuff. This is news to me, Claire. No, when we're playing games and stuff. But I don't think I could do it.
00I don't think I'd be brave enough to do it, like, on telly. I'm one of those people, right? And even in... I know I am one of those people, and even I'll admit it is annoying. They're even worse than a cheater maybe. But it's like, well, where's the fun in it? Cheating. Like if we're playing Monopoly and then you stand up and you've got a couple of 500 notes that you've hid under your bum or something like that, I'm like, well, that's no fun, is it? That's no fun, that's pointless. So even if you win, there's no point. You've ruined it. You've ruined it, yeah. Yeah, you are like that. Because things are fun when you're doing properly.
36Yeah, I know. I like to win though. Yeah, I suppose. There was a blind date contestant exposed as an undercover reporter. Yeah, I remember that. I don't remember this. Yeah, Godzilla proper called her out. Blind-a-data. It did not sound like that. That's the Adam and Joe impression of him. Oh, right, okay. Well, that's not what he sounded like. Blind-a-data. Okay. Keep doing it. Hey, did you hear about the... Have you heard about the guy that was a serial killer who went on an American version of blind date? Yeah, that's right. While he was killing people? Yeah. Yeah? Yeah, I've seen that. I think I watched a documentary about it on YouTube.

12I think it won. I think she picked them. Yeah. But listen, back in 1997, Nicola, a senior features writer for Cosmopolitan magazine, went undercover as a contestant on the UK game show Blind Data. Host Cilla Black famously exposed a reporter on national television, making for an awkward reveal. Yeah. I remember that. Would you have went on Blind Date? Nah. Why? It's too much pressure. But you would have been good at that behind the screen. I feel like you would have came up with some funny stuff. They write it for you. They write it for you. All the answers were very similar, weren't it? Well, James, when I get home after a long day of work, my favourite thing to do is pour a cold glass of Chardonnay.
00I know you're a keen skier. I might not like skiing, but I'll definitely be waiting for you in the cabin by an open fire when you get home. okay maybe you wouldn't be good at it oh here's one that i remember and that we because we love bradley don't we fanny schmeller on the chase fanny schmeller i mean he just could not contain himself yeah they do have a good sense of humor yeah and the thing about i think bradley walsh is one of those um presenters where if he's laughing it does make the like we laugh like he is quite contagious weren't you weren't you a question on the chase once I think the answer was the in-betweeners and it and it went from feeling like oh oh we're a question on the chase isn't it like oh we must be important and then the answer was the in-betweeners and he was like oh you got that one wrong it was the in-betweeners and I think the guy answering went oh I've never heard of that so it just went from there to there and I was just like oh oh well let me run through some weird game shows for you Claire I mentioned it again earlier Takeshi's Castle love that it features the Japanese comedian Takeshi Kitano as a count who sets up difficult physical challenges that players must overcome in order to reach the Union's Castle yeah it's like Mario isn't it it was inspired by the Super Mario Bros video game oh yeah the creator wanted to create a live action video game experience Candy or not candy Again this is from Japan Celebrities are tasked With inspecting Everyday household items Like door handles Shoes and table legs And determining If they are real Or made of sweet Edible chocolate The only way to find out Is to take a bite Eww Touch the truck Touch the truck Was a British Channel 5 Endurance game show Which I remember this Yeah I remember this The show was filmed At the Lakeside Shopping Centre In Essex Oh we've been there Yes So it's an American concept, this, isn't it?

Last person to let go of it, yeah. Wins it. Why would you want to win a truck? It was a Toyota Land Cruiser, mate. Oh, right. I can tell you so now. The person that won that truck back in 2001 are still driving that to this day.
