In short

Don “Nuge” Nguyen’s skateboarding career and off-skate life, including his origin story in Oklahoma City, key video/part milestones (El Toro, Foundation, Baker), business/entrepreneurship (Burger She Wrote, Volume 4 clothing, restaurant plans), and personal anecdotes ranging from skate legends (Heath Kirchart, Atiba Jefferson) to a TMZ-linked fight and a Japan golf trip.

Guest backgrounds

Don “Nuge” Nguyen is a longtime professional skateboarder who grew up skating in the 1980s/early 90s around a Vietnamese pool hall in Oklahoma City. He later became known for the original ollie down El Toro and for parts spanning Foundation and Baker. He’s also involved in multiple ventures, including Burger She Wrote, clothing/design work, DJing/catering/event planning, and running a restaurant with a partner.

Key claims

His El Toro ollie was first-try luck after being dared, with the photo coming later after he “fucked it up” and had to repeat. He says his move from Foundation to Baker at age 30 felt natural because his core homies were already there, and he credits Beagle’s daily bus-to-spots grind for the hype era. He frames post-skate transition as “use every channel” (design/clothing, entrepreneurship, cooking/restaurant) rather than burning out. He describes his TMZ fight as “I was trying to chill, he wasn’t chillin’, so I had to chill him.”

Notable examples

Heath Kirchart stories from working at Jamba Juice (including Heath drinking a free drink and throwing the cup into the sky), the El Toro trick favorites (Arto front board/front crook, tre flip), the Baker/Figgy Shake Junt-era energy, Osaka golf trip with Evan Mock/Walker Golf, and the Copenhagen DJ booth conflict where Nigel told them he “takes this shit seriously” and “I’m getting paid to be here.”

2:40Davis Torgerson:It's how a lot of us connect to skating in the first place. Lately, videos are treated as disposable content. Algorithms decide what gets seen and full lengths are reduced to a couple of clips in a feed. That's not how skate videos are meant to be experienced. That's why the Den was built. The Den is a skate video app curated and designed by skaters. It has a deep catalog of videos preserved in their original quality, pure vision, pure sound exactly the way filmers intended them to be seen. From the classics to the latest releases and a 24-hour live channel for when you just want to kick back and zone out.

3:18Davis Torgerson:The Den was made so when something special comes along it stays front and center long after the feeds moved on. So if you care about skate videos like we do become a member and download the Den for free on iPhone Android the web Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV Okay before I get to this week I just want to say Last week I did something unprecedented shouted out things I had watched yet I did watch them right after and they did not disappoint Shout out our boy Will Marshall killing it in that DC video Killing it all the time you know what I'm saying We saw him have a clip in the quasi video I don't know what's going on there personally i would love to see him on no no i mean sure if but i would love to see will on palace you know i'm saying picture a a fucking trip coming to your city you got will marsh you got haytor you got our boy kyle wilson you know i'm saying who am i forgetting you know that team i agree but there might be too many of that type of skater no no no i think will would fit in on hard body yo true true roster small rock okay got some east coast vibes you know i would not be at that either but anyways will your beast love you um and then of course yo the sour video i really think uh martin might be one of my favorite skaters these days never disappoints uh the trick selection the spot selection and then being filmed by maybe my favorite filmer right now frite uh epic combo but the whole sour squad went off great video check it again now this week i mean this is probably the least surprising uh pick of all time but you gotta give the man his flowers you know i'm saying it's atuan dixon no still edited by andrew reynolds fucking filmed by beagle the band is back together one of the greatest comeback stories in all of skateboarding probably him and guy gotta be the top two uh but antoine that first nollie heel that switch front heel the switch front side flip just uh vintage i've watched it many times already many more to go uh keep doing your thing i met him briefly um after street league but um yeah just also awesome to watch him just one foot the 20 stare and i think he'll flip the little gap and shit but yeah shout out antoine dixon that was uh that was inspiring to say the least and then there i think there was one other thing that pop there's too much shit popping these days man it's everywhere but uh i'm blanking if it comes back to me by the end of the intro i'll show you out well you are running out of time because ghosts there's so nothing left to talk about we've got the nudes in the building he ollied el toro he bombed baxter he saved the thrasher crew and now after 270 some odd episodes he is on the pod let's get this interview popping man damn i couldn't remember in time shout out antoine dixon oh niger and his boys did their thing Oh, that was wicked.

6:52All right, let's get this thing popping. We've got Don, the Nuge, Nguyen in the building. What's cracking, man? What's happening? Just cruising. How you guys doing? This is like maybe one of the quickest turnarounds ever. meet you sunday in the booth on tuesday it's tuesday right something yeah tuesday yeah that's quick man that's quick quick work we started every show off the same you got to hit us with your favorite skate moment and your favorite sports moment a funny one is when i the first time i came to visit california um we were at uci skating a spot and then we just saw like heath kirchardt trying to grind one of the hubba's and actually atifo was there too but um we were just such fucking nerds were just like holy shit there he is and he got so pissed and fucking focused his board and left and we're like oh shit that was our fault my bad oh like he saw you and he got bummed yeah because we're just like we saw him and we're like oh let's just sit here and watch this you know like fucking idiots yeah like creeping a little bit yeah just watch yeah we didn't i didn't understand at the moment you know i was like i was just like let's just watch this for a second and then he saw us was like fuck this and focus this board and we're like wow fuck well we just blew that and then i don't know if i've ever brought it up to him actually but it's pretty funny love that one sports moment i think going to the fucking world series last season a couple times seeing shohei fucking and friddy freeman just nuke a couple that was pretty awesome how

8:24Davis Torgerson:are you gonna drop that to two toronto boys man that's that's crazy dude these guys are relentless yeah i just had to rub that in real quick you know every chance they get jesse's got stickers on his damn car. Yeah, well, let's quickly move on from that subject. I could talk about it for a while. Let's talk about it for a while. Dude, just take us back to the beginning, man. Where'd you grow up and how'd you get into skating? I grew up in Oklahoma City. I started skating really young in like the 80s, 87, I think. I was probably six or seven years old. My brother started skating. Him and his friends brought me along and I don't know.

8:58I guess we kind of started skating at my parents' pool hall because they had a pool hall there and then there was a manual pad in front of it and that's kind of where i learned how to ollie and skate you know like i remember learning how to i think kickflip there too but i think i learned a very old flip before kickflip because i think it was easier or something oh shit you know just like zinging your feet around and then landing on whatever i think it was a very old flip but yeah learning how to ollie and just kickflip was at the pool hall i was probably seven eight years old or something like that yeah

9:28Davis Torgerson:Yeah, Maltel told me to ask about the pool hall and he thinks maybe that's why you've got such a knack for gambling and all types of stuff. You grew up at the pool hall, man. Yeah, I mean, it wasn't like a regular pool. It was like a Vietnamese pool hall and there was definitely some shady business happening. Not business, but there was gambling happening, you know, like out of the open, dominoes. I was just like a little kid and like that's where I grew up. I picked up from school and taken there. They closed at midnight, and I stayed there the whole time. And then I just grew up in that environment.

9:57It was just like, I don't know. I'm stoked for it because it was a fucking awesome scene.

10:01Davis Torgerson:Yeah, for sure. You're probably one of the most competitive, best foosball players I've ever seen. But are you a pool shark too? Yeah, I think if I didn't start skating, I would probably try to pursue pool legitimately because it's my favorite game. I don't play as much as I used to. but like uh i mean i played every single day as a kid growing up you know like but like if i wanted wouldn't have started skating i would have just kept playing pool and i probably would have i don't know had no other choice but to do that i guess hell yeah um our buddy john from toronto john cause uh saw the story i posted of us at burger she wrote and he's like yo if nudge comes up for bun jam this summer like you guys should like have a big beef between me and him and he wants to play you basically.

10:46He's manufacturing this himself?

10:48Davis Torgerson:He's manufacturing some highlight, like some shine on himself, but you might have to take out our boy and pool, yeah. Let's make it happen. I'm fucking totally down. Me and Sefer are actually in a foosball tournament next weekend. Oh yeah, shit. I'm actually like one of the worst players on the face of the earth at foosball, so give me one pointer, man, to just survive out there. If you're goalie, like the guys are like, See, these are the guys. This is the front guy. Keep them like that. Not like this. Stagger them. Stagger them, for sure. And keep them like this. Okay. All right. I'm playing defense and goalie then.

11:24Yeah. Sounds good. Hopefully we win some money. Otherwise, also shoot the right direction. Step one. Well, that's low. That's low. Oh, shit. What would you consider your first big break in the skate industry? I was working at Jamba Juice when I first moved here because I didn't have a fucking job. So I was like, my friends worked there that I had already known. They're the skate homies. And those guys, like they just brought me around. And like my first sponsor here was like Hot Skates, that skate shop out here. And then like they kept, they're like, yo, this guy, you know, they kept getting me like shop flow through like planet earth or whatever.

12:00And like, I feel kind of lucky and like right place, right time kind of shit. Like for real, like for real, for real. Like sure, I had the passion for skating and all that, but like it was like the right time meeting the right people. in the right place. Like I was, I was living in Huntington around that whole scene. And it's like, I don't really know if there was like a break, but like, I think El Toro, maybe that, that was maybe it. I mean, I, I was like always loving Ollie and jumped down a bunch of stairs and stuff and like somehow got dared into Ollie El Toro. And I was like, all right, fuck, I was kind of partying that night and they were like, let's go fuck tomorrow.

12:34And I was like, all right, let's go tomorrow then, you know, went, went kind of hung over and just that happened. And then I think that might have been like they were like oh shit this guy just all the fucking thing whatever and like um and then yeah just i don't know i think that that must have been the big break you

12:48Davis Torgerson:know but turning heads for sure uh young legs man imagine trying a 20 after like hungover now today i would have no i would have no kneecaps they just pop off everything would just fucking shatter yeah i wanted to do it like when i was i was like when i was like when i turned 40 i I wonder if I can try it again, you know, like 20 years later. And then I was like, dude, fucking idiot. There's no fucking way, you know? Yeah. Yeah, it's insane. So how'd you eventually end up finding a home on Foundation? Because Hollywood started at its time yet as well. So I was running for Hollywood, and then that went under.

13:27And then Pig happened. I got on Pig after that with Slash and Lizard and Baca. And then that went under. And then I just went to Foundation. they're just like you're you're moved over here now and i was like because it's all under the same roof you know and through time yet so they're like you're on foundation cory duffel was like i want him to be on foundation and me and him were like we're just traveling around skating everything in sight forever you know the good old days with gareth and you know all those dudes and shit and it was really fun classic time classic era yeah cataclysmic abyss a mid-2000s classic you had opening part how fun was that era what can you tell us about putting that video and part together man that was a really really really fun time in my life of skating because that's all we did was skate like you know i think we're living at hell most of the time and like you know slash and lizard and richie and everybody was staying at my house and we were just like party all night skate all day party all night skate all day every single day like you know that's all we did and like um just i was filming stuff for like i think the hollywood pig video and like and then it went under so i just had some footage saved up and then i just they were like you're on foundation the video's coming out in fucking six months and i was like all right let's go you know i i think i worked better on like a debt like a deadline when they're like all right you got six months no better what i was like kind of put some pressure on you know so like um i was like and i already had like a little stack of footage so i was like okay let's go get some fucking hammers you know and like uh just skated every single day and fucking just it was a fucking blast you know and like i didn't know i was in the first part you know until the shit came out and they were like went to the premiere and i was the first one on i was like holy shit you know that's a wicked feeling and i didn't really know that yeah it's weird i didn't really know anything that i was gonna have first part but i also didn't know like first part was important or anything either you know just kind of like fuck whatever put me in the video i'd be stoked anywhere you know but having the having the uh opener was pretty dope i was very very stoked my brother and cousin flew out to the premiere and shit it was really cool sometimes first part's the best like reaction

15:30Davis Torgerson:for premiere like everyone's so amped up that the first part can get louder cheers than the rest of the video yeah it's it was pretty shocking to me too but it was it was rad man i'm stoked uh so you mentioned having a job at jamba juice at uci uh any epic pro encounters back then before you got to know everyone another fucking heath story because he was living in that area i remember him him and mumford came in him and mumford would come in all the time for some reason but one time I remember seeing Heath and I was like you know I was like making this drink and I was like gave it to him I was like you know he didn't know who I was and obviously I didn't know who he was I was like here you go and he's like how much I was like no just take it and he was like what whatever he's like alright and he just started drinking it from the fucking I handed him a drink he starts drinking it walks out the door drinking it drinking it drinking it drinking it drinking it gets to his car and just fucking throws it in the sky gets in the car and leaves like he just pounded it and left wow Wow.

16:28It's pretty funny. That's epic, dude. It's pretty funny. That guy's a fucking legend. It feels like everyone has a story about him, man. He's that legendary. Shit like that. He would come to Hell Rose all the time, too, later on in life. I remember we were supposed to go skate one time. We skated at night or whatever. I actually stayed home. Everybody was skating. They went to the water ledges at night. Whatever. I went to sleep. In the morning, I woke up. He was in the house at Hell Rose. It was like at 9 in the morning or 10 in the morning, he was like on the couch reading a magazine. And I was like, what the fuck are you doing here, you know?

17:01He was like, well, I just walked here from downtown because they got kicked out or something. They're getting harassed by the cops. And he ran around the building before. And everybody was getting like harassed over here. And he ran over here and just like focused the cop's windshield and bailed. Focused the cop's windshield, bailed, just walked home or whatever. and then these guys finally get let go and the cop comes back and he's like what the fuck who broke my fucking window and they're like well it wasn't us we were here yeah and it was fucking yeah like you know they got let go whatever but like uh like that story is legendary you know just stomped out of the windshield and then walked home took him whatever five hours you know

17:44Davis Torgerson:red dragon shit right there dude it's been 10 years since then right is that the statute of limitations we can talk about that yeah allegedly broke the window there yeah now we're safe that's what he said he claimed it he did or not so i mean you spoke about it as uh your favorite skate moment and and or not your favorite skate moment uh your first big break everyone knows you're the original ollie down el toro stump that shift first try sometimes when things come easy skaters just naturally go back up the stairs to maybe try something else did you ever think about trying anything else on el toro no that's no that's it i was like i got away lucky got away lucky first time and then got the fucking photo later like a week later and they were like i fucked the photo up so i had to go back and try it again and second time i took tried like four times and i was like all right i got the photo it's all good but i don't think i can do For me, there's nothing else I can do on it.

18:47Not like a front 180 type of guy? I was bad at front 180s. I'd probably try back 80 before or kickflip, but there's no way. I'd fucking, you know, I don't know. It didn't even cross my mind, so I was like, yep, I'm out of here.

19:00Davis Torgerson:Hell yeah. Other than your own ollie, what are your favorite three clips on El Toro since? Arto's front board comes to mind. Front crook, obviously, first try is insane. and then tre flip is fucking bonkers. But every trick down it is bonkers. Like, you know, kickflip, fucking nollie. I mean, anything down it is fucked up. So I guess my three would be like, I would say fucking, yeah, front crook, front board really shines bright in there. And Shane Cross is skating at fucking... Boom, yeah. That was right. Yeah. Do you guys have like a fraternity? Like you sparked it, you're the godfather. Anytime someone stomps something, You guys have a group, El Toro group chat?

19:44I fucking wish, dude. I wish I was involved in that, but no, I mean... You should, dude. I feel like every time I see someone that has skated it, they're like, yo. You know, like, and I'm always like, yo, you too, motherfucker. I didn't do shit, you know? Oh, shit. It's like, when you walk by each other in the streets, you get the... Yeah, I don't know. That's funny. It's funny that people still bring it up, you know? I mean, at the moment, I didn't really think it was like... Not that it wasn't that crazy i just didn't think anything of it it was just like i got lucky to the first try whatever but then like it still talks about to this day like a lot i don't know it's fucking legendary i mean of like the greatest ollies of all time like it's up there for sure it's fucking weird i just never thought of it like that you said someone dared you at the bar who did who was behind that it was like the vegas homies like uh they were sitting at my house like rat is like ragdoll and that ball and vinnie vegas at the time they were like and i think ragdoll was like wanting to try it whatever but he was like because i want to try this all i was like what is it you know i was like and he was like you know the fucking the rail that fucking everybody skates and it's the stairs i want to ollie and i was like fuck all that shit tomorrow you know and they're like he's like yeah right he's like i was like we were like partying he was like fucking yeah right i was like i'll go fucking tomorrow whatever and then they're like all right it held me to it and took me there and i've you know handled it but like uh whatever ragdoll got pissing me about that for taking his ollie because he got left with the hippie jumper whatever it is you want to call that thing the barrel jump yeah at that point at the bar when you knew you were going to try this all did you stop drinking and start sipping some waters to you know no we were ready we were at my house we weren't even at the bar we just had my house party and so we definitely didn't stop we were just the that the house didn't close you know so we just partied until we had to sleep you know and woke up and god damn yeah i don't know if you ever heard this story it was

21:34Davis Torgerson:similar except the outcome was complete opposite of yours but uh a fun story we heard on the pod a couple years ago was brian winning uh claimed switch ollie at the bar and then when everyone was ready to go he ghosted the whole squad my next morning my friend mike santa fe tried to switch ollie and fucking and kind of like tried it. I think I'm pretty sure. I remember him sticking it and just dying, but like it has been tried. No one's done that still? I don't think so. Shout out TJ Switch 180, Bolts. Yeah. Dude, that guy's fucking gnarly. Yeah. So you did your thing for foundation for a long time and then eventually made the move to Baker when you were 30.

22:23Was that a hard decision at the time? to leave foundation after being on the team for for a while take us behind the scenes on that move um i don't think it was a hard decision because all my homies were already on baker or like at death wish you know they were like that's kind of the reasoning that reynolds hit me up he was like yo like all your fucking homies are over here like you know it feels like it feels pretty natural for you to just come over here and i was like yeah you're right you know the hardest thing was calling todd swank to quit but which you know i called immediately i was like yo i got offered Baker's hitting me up and he was just like cool, no hard feelings dude, just do it.

23:02And I was like shit, alright. If he would have given me any slack, I'd have been like fuck, a little bit more bummed, but he was just like, yo, all good. Just like, go handle your shit. And I was like fucking dope. And I was like alright, peace. Boom, Baker. Next day, Baker. That's fire. It was fucking nuts, man. It's weird getting on anything at 30. you know i don't i don't know how that happened but it felt good to for it to happen you know it just like felt like you said kind of natural and like uh felt like home with all my homies

23:34Davis Torgerson:you know um i feel like there's something crazy that happens with like the baker boys guys in their 30s where like i feel like reynolds ellington greco all those guys put out some of their most iconic spots when they were kind of later in their career and in my opinion you did the same thing uh i think arguably your best part was your shared part with figgy in the shake jump video yeah do you feel like you were kind of at the peak of your powers in that era thanks for that also um but yeah i mean it was just like so much hype and fucking it was so just much skating at the time and like beagle would pick us up every single day like on a fucking like a bus route you know you'd go to fucking pick up fucking figgy pick up slash pick up fucking lizard they'd pick me up and then you know we'd just get on like in the bus and just fucking go skate he'd just be like all right we're skating this today and he'd be like fucking a 15 stair or whatever whatever the fuck it just be like so many stairs and rails and shit you know every spot we're just like we'd go and like there's 10 of us somebody's gonna do something you know or try something you know so like it was just like so much hype and like we'd just be like someone will land something and it felt like we all landed something you know like and it was just like fucking just like that vibe and energy was fucking unmatched.

24:48I don't know. It's like, and people would see you, like other people would see, like kids would see in the street and they'd be like, oh, like they'd be freaking out and shit. And we'd be like, whatever. It was like fucking crazy times, man. Like Beagle would get recognized from fucking mildly. They'd be like, Beagle. Like people drive around. You know, like it was like so much energy and fun and hype. And it was like, yeah. And that, that's like a kind of made it not easy, but it made it just the thing where just like every single day, like no matter what people's picking us up go out someone's trying something we're all trying something one dude's jumping we're all jumping you know like it's just like can't i don't know

25:25Davis Torgerson:it's unexplainable but that's really how it was you know yeah that video was i feel like underrated at this point like it's not talked about like one of the all-time videos but when you re-watch that video it's so classic yeah so many good parts yeah dude it was fucking yeah figgies fucking vodka as part i mean it was it was just fucking so exciting to be a part of and i'm stoked at it i got to be a part of it hell yeah so sick so preparing for life post skate career can be super challenging and for some people just happens overnight like that can just change uh very quickly you seem to get well ahead of it with the entrepreneurial spirit that you have tell us how you approach that transition well i remember one of the first things that riddles told me when i got on he just he just called me and was like you know like you're on baker whatever and like uh he's like you know we can't skate forever like how you think in your brain you you you know like right now i think i can fucking tray flip a 12 stair but that's not happening but you know i'm still skating and like i still love this love it the same way but like he's like you're not gonna go skate forever like the way you want to you know so you know he's just like i don't know he just brought that up and i was like yeah you're right you know like you know it's true so like and instead of like burning out whatever like you know i was trying to just use every channel i could use or like use every you know use everything i could do to like start some other shit i was like you know started volume four the clothing and shit and then like learned how to design stuff and you know it was just like i like being hands-on and doing stuff all the time i hate sitting still learning that from atiba he was always around like just always in fucking paris tokyo or whatever i was like dude how do you do it he's like you don't have that much time so get it in while you can you know that really resonated with me and I was like all right so just trying to do more stuff and then it opened up a lot of doors you know like skating like you know you meet a lot of people and like I've always wanted to open a restaurant I've always I love cooking I always want to open a restaurant and like it just you know it just happened I don't know my partner reached out to me and he's like yo let's do a restaurant we did it and it worked and I don't know it's hard to explain but like uh I just like doing stuff that I like to do and like I hate sitting still.

27:36I like moving. Being out. Yeah, just being out. Every now and again, you've got to rest and shit, but I fucking hate resting. I want to fucking be out doing something. 24 hours, that's not enough. You sleep for fucking eight. You're fucking sitting in a car with three. You only have that much time. You've got to keep doing something. I don't know. It's weird.

27:58Davis Torgerson:I need some more of that, man. I love resting too much, I'd say. I mean, don't get me wrong. I do get my eight hours no matter what, though. I'm pretty good at sleeping. So, yeah, I like just doing stuff, working at something. Dude, it's funny that you got that advice from Reynolds, but this guy is seemingly trying to skate forever. I know. That seems like his absolute goal. So for him to tell you that years ago, he's the only one not taking that advice. I know. What is he like? like he's like an alien man like how is he doing this like he's still like a little kid he's a skate kid he's like a skate fanatic and that's only i can put it he's like a fucking he all he does is think about skating and like yeah like on a bigger text he'll like you know just send photos of like four different setups and shit you're like all right so he's like this is like the skinnier one this little wider one i got the skinnier trucks on this one the white trucks and And I'm like, dude, that's so sick.

28:58You're just like, all you're thinking about is skating. Yeah. And he's been telling me he's minimalizing his life. Minimalizing his life. He's edited his life down to really nothing. It's just like an apartment. And he's just like, has a TV with the shit. And there's nothing in it. It's just like, you know. I just feel like he's like, all he cares about is skating. Which is, you know. It's magical, man. It's working for him.

29:26This week, CHPO has donated their space here at the Bunt to the true heroes, Skatistan. Supporting Skatistan means helping children in some of the world's most challenging environments access education, community, and hope. Through skateboarding, they build confidence, learn important life skills, and gain opportunities they might not otherwise have. Your donation directly contributes to empowering young people to shape a better future for themselves. Visit Skatistan.org or follow at Skatistan to support right now. Do it for the people. Do it for Skatistan and do it for CHPO. Thank you.

30:11Davis Torgerson:Yeah, so we kind of ran through it, but in your epically later, which was awesome, you said you had like 10 jobs. So what exactly is keeping you busy, like a typical week in the life sort of of what you're kind of bouncing around doing? A lot of it's Burgers Chirote. Like we meet every Tuesday for just business meetings and stuff every Tuesday just to go over numbers and P &Ls and all this other shit and whatever. And that's a lot of time. Open beer on Monday's meetings is every Monday. and then Wednesday I kind of get to maybe go skate or do something, golf or something, and then Thursday, Supreme.

30:49And then the weekend's kind of sometimes DJing or planning an event or, I don't know, DJing, catering something, fucking, you know. What else is there? There's like eight jobs I got to do. And they're all fucking fun. I'd have it no other way. Dude, the Burger She Wrote van looks absolutely epic. that thing was awesome we just got the wrap that day or the day before so i was like that was the first time i was seeing it in real life too so i was like that shit was sick yeah very well done thanks man so yeah you blessed us heavy a couple days ago like i mentioned sunday morning or i guess it was sunday for lunch yeah our first and definitely not last time a burger she wrote how's the burger scene treating you is it like a super competitive business because it seems like you got burger shops popping up quite a lot but you're managing to uh stand the test of time yeah i mean when we opened there was like probably like two or three or something at the time maybe you know i mean smash burger style burger spots and um now there's fucking every fucking corner there's another smash burger spot you know and like yeah i feel like we were the first ones to do the oklahoma burger here in la because i'm from oklahoma and that's like you know the original burger and like and all that like uh but yeah they're fucking popping up everywhere so there's There's definitely some competition out there, but I feel like we don't really hate on anybody.

32:11We're just doing our thing, and that's all we can do. All we can do is focus on our shit and keep it the same and consistent, and that's all we can do. Hopefully, that speaks through. But there's definitely some beef out there, literal beef. Yo, I got to hear the burger beef, man. Come on, dude. You tried to shy away from it for a second. There's one place that was my favorite place. I don't want to mention it because I don't want to start a shit but I don't want to start beef but it was one of my favorite places and he was cool with me when I was going there and then I opened the spot and he was like, yo, what the fuck?

32:46You opened a burger spot? I was like, yeah, but it's nowhere near you. Is this a congratulations or is this a fuck you? And he was like, yeah, it's fucked up, man. I was like, really? All right, well then fuck you then. We were homies and then I opened a spot down the street. What the fuck? There's coffee shops everywhere. You know what I mean? you can't you're not the fucking only one if it was that wasn't me it's somebody else like you know and i was like you're a homie you know and not real like you know we were nice and you know like cordial homie yeah cordial homie yeah we weren't kicking everything but like you know but that's fucking whack you know i'm like and people open burger spots all the time i'm like fucking dope yeah good luck there's literally more burger places in the world than probably any other yeah style restaurant i'm sure he's gonna be okay is he okay is he still in business or did you run them out of town?

33:36No, they're still there and they're fucking killing it. It's by our favorite bar, I'll tell you that. Okay. Carlito's Way? No. It's another favorite bar, but... It's now an after hours, which I learned on the weekend.

33:53Davis Torgerson:Choffer One, man. Choffer One. Choffer One. I still gotta get that tat. Okay. Going back in time a little bit, Hellrose Apartments, we need one story from that era that comes to mind from the apartments the original one or the hollywood hellrose house that we all lived in or either one either one either one yeah this is a fun one because you guys are in toronto right my friend's band called kill a cheerleader they're from toronto and they actually they're like our homies and like uh we would party we had the place for 365 days like one year that's it they're like after this we're tearing it down so you can do whatever you want you know so it's just like a party for 365 days but one one of the one it was literally like every single night like not one night missed there was no night where we just like all right let's chill tonight you know there was and chilling was partying but anyway so like they came and played a show and they were played in the garage and it was like a fucking rock show like a fucking full-on rock show in our fucking house at in the garage in the back but like we had a pretty big yard and shit and like uh the cops came and they were like that's this is all right we're like really they're like yeah usually it's like you know some other some bullshit techno or some party we had to break that up but this is kind of sick and we're like cool and they're like be done by 10 p.m we're like easy you know like he's like make the show the show's done by 10 you guys do it ever afterwards but you know because we nobody ever fucking cared in hollywood like what we're doing you know it was insane that was kind of like a highlight one of the highlights yeah plug toronto hell yeah um speaking of skate houses you later lived at a t-bus for a while during the epic era with malto and dylan tell us a little bit about that time and if you have a specific story that comes to mind that was another good era like dylan just in his fucking prime just like shredding every day surfing and kicking it and partying like i had just freshly got divorced so t-boy was like yo just come stay with us stay as long as you want and i was like all right maybe i'll stay for like a month ended up there for like a year just like couldn't leave it was like too fun you know it was like every night was some fun shit to do and skating and yeah and it's being at a t-bist house you know t-bist house is fucking dope you know arcade it's fucking pool mini ramp it's it's like a fun house it's like a grown-up kid's house i'm here right now i'm sad i gotta fly home on sunday man yeah it's fucking dope there it was just yeah just kicking a lot with dylan yeah i've known dylan for a long time since he was a you know 14 or 15 but like being there in his prime time in his prime and we weren't resting either then i guess

36:43yeah sensing a pattern here dude yeah i know it's fucking it's getting there

36:48Davis Torgerson:when will you rest i mean you might be the king of shots in all of skateboarding uh he loves to yell shots and then just do shots all night fucking if you're at shaw like you might just get blacked out if he's around uh is there anyone else in the skate realm that you think can uh out do you shot wise in a night i mean the crew we hang with it's the same it's like malto is we it's funny because like we're in sorry to go off the thing but like malto we were all in copenhagen one time and like and uh we were just testing people like you know we had like a no flex a no flex zone you know yeah like all right no flinch zone like we were like okay just test this out p-rod we need 10 shots and he was like 10 that's it all right he like didn't even flinch he's like cool 10 and then we kept doing it to other people like hey fucking a shot 10 shots he's like all right didn't say just you know nobody ever flinched they're like all right 10 that's that's it you know no one flinched p-rod nothing malto so like yeah malto can hang fucking eyeshot can hang p-rod can hang yeah everybody can hang it's pretty pretty standard Impressive.

38:04Yeah.

38:05Davis Torgerson:Bro, I tap out, man. I'm approaching 40, and I feel like I can't go the distance. The Jefferson bros outlasted me the other night at the crib, man. I've tapped out at three. The music was blaring until four. Is that after Cha-Cha night, after the Dodger game? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Atiba is a different person. I know he's a different kind of breed or something. I feel like he's cheating, too. I feel like he's like, there's a third Jefferson that they just put in. They're just like, all right, you know what? That takes a couple of shots. Like take a few stunt shots. And yeah, I don't know, man. It's like, I don't know how Atiba does it.

38:46Davis Torgerson:It's iconic, but you're fucking cut from the same cloth, man. Don't be humble. Yeah, I mean, you know. The humble partier. I've had a lot of training, you know. Yeah. You went on one of the coolest trips I've ever heard of. It was, I think you, Costin, Malto, and Atiba got flown to Miami to be like Budweiser ambassadors and attend the Super Bowl. So not only did you go to the Super Bowl, everything was all expenses covered and paid to be there. Tell us a bit about that trip and how you almost actually missed the game and who saved you. Yeah, that was a fucking walk. I've never been to a football game before that, you know.

39:27That's fucking awesome, dude. That was my first football NFL game. Yeah, we rolled pretty deep. It was like, you know, all of us. And then it was a fucking Niners versus Chiefs, which is Malto. Malto was like, you know, fucking thrilled. And they fucking won. Chiefs won. And he was like in tears. But, yeah, we almost didn't make it. We partied. We were there for like five or six days. And I think the fifth day was the Super Bowl. And we just partied up until it. And then, yeah, I think the day of I was like super hungover, like dying and like just like getting up, you know, and then Malta was like, yo, I'm at a fuzz spot.

40:04Do you want anything? I was like, please bring me some soup, something. And he brought me a fucking to go cup of soup and it fucking brought me back to life.

40:12Davis Torgerson:Yeah. He said that they had no to goes. And so he needed you to like wake up and he's like, fuck, how do I get this soup to him? So he said he went to a Starbucks and got a big to-go cup of Starbucks and dumped it in there. It was really like a cup noodle. It was like a cup. Not like a to-go bowl. It was like a fucking cup. Yeah. Coffee cup of noodles. Just chugging broth. I was like, dude, it literally brought me back there instantly. I felt like a human again. And then we got up and went. And it was fucking insane. Budweiser. I started partying all over again. Started all over again. that was also best first game to watch yeah that was a that was a fucking fun one too and like moto was in tears and shit they won he was like fucking yeah it was so dope yeah it was really i was actually in miami watching that with nick cats and our other homies unfortunately didn't know you guys at the time but um that that's like a crazy first game to watch because it looked like they were going to lose the whole time and then the bomb to tyreek like that was one of the best super bowls in recent memory it was fucking nuts dude so fun costing just being costing and yeah it was so fucking fun man like what a trip got a bunch of fucking budwears and shit hey we we rep an open beer these days though man exactly so you've somehow made your way onto tmz a couple times now can you tell us a story about the fight with you and figgy I think that was in Illinois somewhere, I feel like.

41:49But we were at a skate park. Our band was about to play a show there. It was during a skate rock. And I was, you know, I think in the video you could see me. I was like setting up my guitar, my bass shit, guitar stuff. And I was like trying to set my amp up. But this fucking dude was like just giving Phelps the fucking hard time. And Phelps was like, whatever, barking back at him, whatever. And I was like, yo, man, like this show, leave the fucking old Mandalonians, fucking 80 years old, just leave him alone, you know. And he keeps fucking with them. And I was like, dude, and I'm like holding my amp.

42:17I'm like, yo, fucking stop, you know, fucking do some shit over here, you know? Like, and then he was like, fuck you. I don't know. He was talking shit. I was like, all right, you know what? Put my shit down. I was like, what do you want to do? And he's like, whatever. And we just squared up. And I was fucking started punching him. And then, you know, like some people just don't, I don't know if they're just like, hasn't happened to them yet or not or whatever. But like where I'm from, like if you talk shit, you got to, you know, you got to, something's going to happen. I don't know. Like, I don't know how it is nowadays.

42:44but like back then it was like you talk you're gonna get some you know so we fought and then his buddy pulled the knife out or something i didn't see because i was fighting the other guy but some his other guy pulled the knife out and then figured just ran up and was like bink and just

42:59Davis Torgerson:took that dude out you know damn no that's sketchy yeah i think he kind of saved you low-key okay i don't i got shanked but so how did this end up on tmz someone like his cell phone cam did yes someone was filming yeah someone was filming there's fucking yeah phone camera phones everywhere i don't know i don't even know what i was like man we did that played the show and then left and like the next day or two it was like i don't know how soon it was actually but it was like the show was on there and i was like oh god i was like but it showed it like you know it showed it real it was real time i was like i was just trying to go chill you know and then he didn't chill so had to chill them more recently osaka golf trip with evan mock uh for walker golf i believe uh how insane was that trip any stories from that one i mean that was just like a fun i don't even know how i got involved like they were i guess they had evan go and they were like who do you want to go you know you do like you can bring one person or whatever he's like nooch and i was like yes you know like We got fitted for clubs, got all new clubs and shit.

44:04And just went on a golf trip to fucking Japan for fucking a week. It was so dope. And then...

44:11Davis Torgerson:Incredible. Yeah, it was really cool. The crew was cool. I met a bunch of cool dudes. Went to the Mizuno fucking headquarters, factory, all that shit. And it was just fucking really, really, really sick to see how they make golf clubs. But I didn't know what was involved in that. But now I do. It's pretty nuts. They do all that shit just so I can fucking slice the ball into the fucking woods. like all that technology yeah they fucking lose 100 balls it took a guy 18 years to get to this position to fucking to be able to forge the shit and now i just slice the ball into the woods fucking 100 times dude you and 95 of everyone else who plays golf yeah whose whose shot was worse uh your slice or a t one where he almost killed homegirl that he had a crush on back in the day that was fucking gnarly dude I don't think I've ever sliced a ball that bad yeah I mean she's okay so we can laugh at it now but I watched that like a hundred times man that was the funniest shit I've ever seen you haven't seen the clip hole won it in fucking Scotland I can't remember it was like a famous course right yeah like the fucking very first golf course ever made and like it's the first tee shot I mean it's very intimidating because like there's fucking everybody's watching and there's like lines like this like lined up past the thing like he just sliced the ball right and like hit it and put directly right almost killed a lady like almost killed a lady it's so fire you hear the ball like zing past her head oh my god funnier than that his gear that he was wearing was insane yeah oh my god you were in the the loudest shit at the very the golf the very first golf course ever invented and you're just like wearing the loudest shit ever burberry that is an intimidating hole though so i'll give him that it was i'd probably have tampa legs as well you know yeah um back to evan mock for a minute we heard you and him had a funny encounter with niger in the dj booth at copenhagen a few years ago what's the whole story there you know we were djing a club for a party for copenhagen pro he was upstairs niger was djing upstairs we were djing down in the bottom club and you know like he dj for a while then but it's at the same time but me and eva were djing the whole night like till like whatever six in the morning whatever and niger was done at like two so he came down he was like this is the first He was like, hey, yo, they can jump on for a second.

46:53We're like, yeah, sure. We need a fucking break. We can go take some shots, you know, whatever. Go ahead. So he goes on and rocks it for whatever, like an hour or two or something. And then we get back on to close it. And then the next day, there's another party where Nigel was DJing. I think everybody was kind of like, yo, why aren't you guys DJing? You guys should be doing this. Like, you know, whatever. And we're like, yeah, whatever. I don't care. But then after a while, everybody's like, yo, fuck. we're tired of listening to like techno music and shit it's the same beat for fucking five hours or whatever and we're like all right fuck i was like all right niger can we get on for a little bit and he was like yeah yeah yeah just give me a second you know whatever and whatever and then evan just got pissed or was like yo like fucking you came we let you fucking come down and you fucking fucked our whole night up and fucking like let us fucking get on right now and he was like nah you know just wouldn't let us on we're like all right fuck there's that and then but evan was kind of pressing kind of heavy so he never wet you on he just continued just continued yeah i was just with evan today we should just text evan what he said yeah call him call him up you want me to call him yeah call him can you hear me i'm on i'm on the butt live right now um what did nijia say to you in the dj booth what did he say he said um i'm getting paid to be here and i don't know i just remember i was barging the dj set it was like he was he said something like i take this shit seriously or something oh yeah he's like unlike you guys i actually take this shit seriously and i was like oh that's what yeah that's what it was yeah we're like yeah okay

48:34Davis Torgerson:my guy like i understand if you're trying to get a bag or whatever for you know djing and shit totally fine but you're in copenhagen that's why copenhagen's so sick is because you're like with everyone and doing like yeah six shit together it's not like that it's not like i'm headlining this shit it's like whoever wants to play music can play music and it's just the vibe i don't know yeah yeah all right cool thank you for that clear the air are you golfing are you golfing he just said shots wait could you even hear what he was saying I just realized yeah we can hear Midler all right later all right that's what he said I take the shit serious too I get paid like him all the time

49:31Davis Torgerson:um so you're doing all that shit uh you've had a long epic career how often you skate in these days you still working on any projects still trying to stack clips every once in a while we do have a bunt video coming out we would love a clip uh what's the skate vibe these days i still skate all the time not as much as i should be but like uh it's still fun to me i still skate as much as I can when I can. But there is a Baker video coming. He's like, get two clips for whatever. And I was like, all right, so I'm going to try to get two clips somewhere. Get two stunts, old man stunts. So I'm going to just try to do that.

50:12And then I'll try to get those clips first, and then I'll try to get a butt clip. Priorities, right?

50:18Davis Torgerson:Three clips, that's all we need. Two for Baker and one for us. All right, so what's next? For the nudge, man, you got all these business ventures. You're still skating. You're DJing. You're showing up at events. What's next, dude? We're opening. We're expanding burger shrooms. We're opening two more. One's coming in a couple weeks, and another one's coming in four months. Then we're opening a coffee shop next door to the original burger shrooms, where you guys are at. Sick. We got three things opening this year, and then hopefully we fucking keep opening them. I want to just open them where I want to go.

50:48I want to do it in New York. Do it in New York. Do it in New York. and just go in a circle and check on them, you know? That's the main, I mean, that's my dream. That's setting the bar high, man. That's a great idea. Yeah, like just put them where I want to go and then just go to them. Yeah, so it's never vacation. It's always kind of work. It's kind of work, you know? But vacation. Yeah, yeah, exactly. We put them in vacation spots, though, you know?

51:12Davis Torgerson:Yeah. Your whole life will be a business write-off, man. Yeah, dude. I just fucking, I love that. I need that. I feel the heat from here. Yo, yo, yo. It's Rapid Fire with the Ghost. And this week, we're brought to you by the only wheels we ride. It's Spitfire. Their newest drops has pro wheels from two Bunt alums, Fabiana Delfino and Big Z, Zion Wright. Fabi's got her pro conical fulls and Zion with his wheel of choice, the classics. Both with graphics on some interplanetary space trips and made to burn. Get to your local shop to peep all the newest pro wheels and gear from Spitfire. And don't forget to tell them The Bunt sent ya.

51:58Davis Torgerson:Hit up Select, Blue Tile, Venue, Holistic in the US, and 9x Switch So Hip in Canada.

52:08Davis Torgerson:Alright, we got one more section, Nuge. A little rapid fire, man. You ready? Oh, shit. Alright. Alright, favorite skater? Reynolds. Koston. My girl. Just kidding. Do I have to say one or just start naming them off? That's cool. We'll take the big three there. Okay. Favorite video. Baker 3. Oh, yeah. Favorite video part. Reynolds in... Fuck. Every video. But Heath Kerchardt also. Side and scene. Or whatever that video, the transmole video it was. Yeah. Yeah. Fire. Favorite style. Guy Mariano. Sick. Which skater had the biggest influence on the way you skate? Probably Reynolds or Kostin, but I really grew up watching Mike Carroll in Questionable a lot.

52:58That's the part that I watched the most probably. Up to date.

53:02Davis Torgerson:Most talented skateboarder on planet Earth? Grant Taylor. Favorite trick? Kickflip. Hardest trick for you? Any fucking switchflip. Most illegal trick? dolphin flip it's gross favorite clip you've ever gotten this 50-50 grind is Silver Lake it's like a white bar it's a flat bar that kind of drops off it's a spot that I've been driving by for fucking 15 years and finally I was like alright fucking pull over let's go do it oh yeah is it the one over the little lake well not little but like grass it's a big drop some grass sidewalk drop off the sidewalk that thing looks terrifying It would just been there haunting me forever, and I just one day just wouldn't do it.

53:49Davis Torgerson:Hell yeah. What's the worst trend you've been a part of? Maybe the baggy pants back in the 90s, Dave, but that didn't seem that bad at then. I wouldn't go back to that, I guess. I wouldn't do that again. What's the gnarliest trick you've ever witnessed? Oh, my God. One of the coolest ones was Lizard's front nose on Hollywood 16. Damn. Just the way he did it was insane. I was like, holy shit. He did it like he was snowboarding. He had a nose press. He just stood on the thing. I was like, what? That was crazy. That was amazing. What's the one trick that got away? There's a bunch of them, but there's one where I tried to grind the flat part of a kinked rail and Ollie had an eight stair.

54:36I hit my fucking teeth on the curb and rolled my ankle at the same time. I really wanted that. I wanted to go back.

54:42Davis Torgerson:but then i just never went back bro i actually just watched that beagle tapes like not too a couple weeks ago yeah you're so fucking close yeah dude yeah yeah whatever i thought i had him and one that was trying to get fucking broke on was like it was a little windy and i was like i should have just stopped but i was like yeah fuck up you know riding up to fuck it it's probably not the right idea you know yeah that thing's gnarly shout out current he got the back 50 right yeah I think Dan Liu might have 50-ed it. Oh, shit. What's the biggest bunt you've ever witnessed? I guess it's not really it, but Sammy says when he's over life, he's just going to try to bomb the Hoover Dam.

55:29That's a good claim.

55:30Davis Torgerson:I love that. What's the last new trick you learned? Back threes, which took a while. I never really tried it, never really tried to learn it, And then I just forced myself to learn it one day. And that was a couple of years ago. But yes, I think that's. That's dope. Hell yeah. I need a trick tip. I've still never figured that one out. Yeah. I finally figured it out, but haven't done one in a while. So I need to go do it again. Hell yeah. Dream job after skating. Burger She Wrote. Fuck yeah. Nailed it. Living the dream. Love it. Yeah. Favorite local brand. Ancient Greece Records. sick record yeah favorite local skater rowan yes dude very nice um what's the one sponsor you regret riding for s1 insoles but that's not really regret i kind of liked i kind of needed those but uh favorite teammate ever slash legend i don't remember teammates but yeah i guess Jeff Wishbaker.

56:40Davis Torgerson:Close enough. Sammy Baca slash. Hell yeah. Worst teammate ever. Maybe Lizard, but I love him still to the same time. But he was pretty fucking annoying at the time. But he's not the worst. He's my best friend. But, you know. What would he do? Just be loud at fucking every eight in the morning, wake up so hyper. He's like, ah! You're like, fuck it. It's just got some of my eyes, you know. Worst company. Aircraft, the fucking metal boards that weighed 400 pounds, and you get one shin and you're fucking dead.

57:20Built to last, though.

57:22Davis Torgerson:Built to kill. Worst trend. Maybe the small wheels back in the day. That was a terrible idea. Yeah, I don't know why. We used to grind our wheels down, couldn't afford it, so we'd make our own. I don't know why. It was like made skating harder. It's fucking insane. Yeah, that makes no sense. It makes no sense. Worst style. Oh, I don't want to do that. We're almost done. It's two hard ones at the end. That's the second last question. Fuck. I can't do it. Can I skip that one? Who's the last person you want on the sesh? I'm going to say Leo Romero because he's too good. He would get out of the car and just fucking rifle off 20 tricks before you even stretched your arms after a 12-hour drive.

58:05He'd do 20 tricks on the handrail and he'd be like, cool. I was going to try to frontboard it, but you just fucking kickflip back 12-year. Frontboard's long gone when you're ready.

58:15Davis Torgerson:He seems like one of those skaters where if he wants to, let's say, nose blunt something, he'll do every trick to get there, which then fucks up everyone else who maybe wanted to do like a five over a nose grind. It's just like, oh, he would just do all those first try. We'd be 12 minutes and he'd already done 20 tricks. And now he's like, he did more tricks than there was time. Hey, shout out, Leo. Legend. well Nuge man thank you so much for the hospitality in LA the other day and thank you for the quick turnaround coming on the pod really appreciate it hey thanks for having me man that was a blast I thought you were going to yell shots but send us off in style Nuge alright shots

59:07welcome back to random skater of the week the fastest growing segment on youtube brought to you by mob grip the number one choice of professional skateboarders worldwide and the reason's simple it's the grippiest baby as always our good friend davis torgerson hosting and this week jed anderson in the building it's been a long time one of the og interviews for the bunt probably like seven maybe seven years ago man and now we're back

59:36Davis Torgerson:yeah we're back finally let's do it nervous as hell let's get it have you have you seen any of these yeah i was meaning to watch like some recent ones to be to like rule some people out but didn't get around to it so might have some repeat guesses but we'll see i've seen it though i've seen it i've watched i've watched a handful of them for sure do you do you ever get it before them i have a couple times but there's definitely been ones where i'm like i have no fucking idea you don't think he's won one ever definitely before safer usually but yeah well if fuck if it's before safer then it's then you get it first so yeah what would you consider your level of skate nerd recently we were ranked safe was a seven and a half out of 10 i was given five and a half out of 10 what would you consider yourself i'll give myself a five and a half i think perfect yeah but i think we all live in different realms a little bit like the shit we were into when we were younger and stuff like safe was definitely up on some a bunch of stuff i don't know and probably the same for all of us but yeah what was your shit that you were up on I don't even know I don't remember a lot of the shit anymore but like I feel like you were watching different stuff all the time like I was watching foundation videos and like I don't know shit like that but I also was I guess I was pretty well versed when I was younger I was still watching like hella east coast stuff and I don't know it's just a crap shoot man all that shit's out the window when he starts dropping clues.

1:01:12No, no, for sure, for sure. Somebody might guess the flip team.

1:01:19Someone might guess the flip team. For those that maybe haven't seen, I'm going to just list off clues to a random skater. These three, they're going to be guessing. They get three guesses. They can blurt it out anytime. They can ask questions. If, you know, it's super awesome. They all get, they burn through all three guesses. all of them they each get one more guess for an overtime um we'll deal with that if it comes all right can we get an updated scoreboard you have that handy um what for the season yeah see where we're at we need this right now i don't know i just why not dude yeah because i guess we're

1:01:58Davis Torgerson:on fire early on i just won like three straight before this one yeah the cost is still up in the air no one truly knows who won that one well if you want that one then that means i'm in the lead motherfucker. Then it's 4-4 and 2. You'd be tied for the game. If I win this one, I can go into the finals and potentially it's a three-way tie. Oh my God. Everything's on the line right now. Season's on the line. Just to follow up, the guests have five wins. Say as four, Dono has one win so far this season. One of them's still up in the air. Should we get into it? Let's fucking do it. Okay, previous teammates of this skater include Andrew Reynolds, Jeff Rowley, and Tony Hawk.

1:02:50This is our time. Jeff Rowley, Andrew Reynolds, Tony Hawk. Yep. Okay.

1:03:02Davis Torgerson:Boards and shoes only. Boards and shoes. Yep. I like it. Okay. This skater was seen in Eastern Exposure 3. What? Dude, we're cooked. That should be the giveaway. That's how ballsy came to drop.

1:03:33Also was seen having a profile and 411 issue 15.

1:03:39Davis Torgerson:Can I ask, or no, wait, can I ask, like, what board brand they were on together or some shit? Like... You can, but I'm not gonna answer it yet. Yeah. Yeah.

1:03:55Davis Torgerson:Can I get, like, his initials? Can I get the skater's name?

1:04:04Okay.

1:04:08this skater had a guest pro board for 40s skateboards the fuck is that yeah i'm not too familiar i i think it's from england 40s and short i looked i looked and they've had some other pros to have had guest pros i think from england carrie getz has had one a few others oh fuck jeremy ray had one i guess alex mole

1:04:39Davis Torgerson:nope I have one I want to throw up I have one I want to throw up should I wait for one more clue nah do it everyone always fucking saying let me throw one out the window Brian Sumner nope I know my head was my head was in the same way but I was like He didn't have shit in Eastern Exposure 3, I don't think. I don't think so. Who knows, dude? I mean, there was a good amount of people in that video, though. Yeah, what, did he have a part or he just had a clip? Somewhere in between. Okay, so this could be goddamn near anybody. Kinda, but... Um... This skater skated for human skateboards. alongside Gershon Mosley.

1:05:36Oh, what the fuck? So giving you another teammate right there.

1:05:45Davis Torgerson:Fuck, I need to see the list of who you've guessed. I know that was going to be my tech, but I blew it. To me. Not that that would have probably helped that much. And I'll give you another one. Yo, it's sorry, it's a route. Who are the teammates? And. Birdman, yeah. Tony Hawk. Riley, Reynolds, and Bird. I'll give you another teammate, alongside Richard Angelides, skated for invisible skateboards. Holy fuck.

1:06:19It's almost too much information so early, dude.

1:06:25Reynolds,

1:06:26Davis Torgerson:and Riley. Fuck, I hate when you have a skater stuck in your head and you can't think about anything else. are we sure it's not alex mole

1:06:38wait let me yep not him okay let's keep going is it good we should have we should double check this sometime so and i'll give you another one alongside javier sarmiento skated for powell holy fuck all the teammates dude what

1:06:59Davis Torgerson:and i'm out of water it's i'm trying to think of like some random shit like what does the have the error have to do with anything you could have just said skated for powell but you know what i do is i give you an arrow when i do that okay okay my bad my bad appreciate it you're welcome appreciate that garen how many teammates we got now like 10 well so far that's six but you don't you don't quite know uh the first three yeah but i will say the first three are all with one company holy so like reynolds uh rowley and uh birdman yeah okay so i know what fucking company it is now who the hell is it can we say what company we think it is no I'm not sharing information table don't say it in case for some reason see if it doesn't know it um where do I want to go with this okay let's go with um this skater was on the cover of a video game holy fuck Oh, damn.

1:08:19Fuck, you're twisted, Davis. It's not like Kerchardt. We're eight losing. Oh, shit. No. You guys all have two guesses left. You guys all have... These are great guesses.

1:08:39Davis Torgerson:Can I guess another one? Oh, fuck. Alyssa Seamer. no unfortunately we've done her already you got one left

1:08:56oh man alissa was actually our very first one of these that we ever did so one more guess the one that no one saw hold on a second slow down okay

1:09:18Okay. Pow.

1:09:25Okay, let's keep going. You, more. Fuck. Okay, this skater was featured in the Transworld trick tip video starting point two. What is the trick? Come on. No, it's a trick tip video, so multiple tricks. Yeah, what trick did he tip on? More than one. Oh, is it Ray Barbie? Nope. Fuck.

1:09:51Davis Torgerson:I know I keep the Eastern exposure one is throwing me off because like everything else kind of I feel like I have Fuck one guess. But then I'm like Eastern exposure. It doesn't make any sense

1:10:06Okay This one's pretty cool I guess Canadian But still, this person is credited to be The first person to ever ride a skateboard In the White House

1:10:27I can't use my last guess, man If I don't know it for sure Safe a guess, man So we were all on our last leg Fuck up.

1:10:40Davis Torgerson:I have no clue right now. Okay. This skater helped design a pogo stick called the Flybar 1200. What the fuck clue is that? I was in the dark webs for that one. I have ideas. I don't want to blow my last guess, though. Yeah, I have an idea right now, but...

1:11:12Davis Torgerson:2 % confidence.

1:11:17Okay, this skater had their own challenge on King of the Road. Where it was kind of, they hosted their own challenge for the people to do.

1:11:30Davis Torgerson:Dude.

1:11:37Davis Torgerson:people at home are bummed on us right now for sure don't worry about them lock in i don't know about that these are all pretty vague um

1:11:50at one time i think it has since been broken at one time this skater owned a guinness world record

1:12:00what was it it's so late the longest jump on a skateboard what do you mean jump that's what it said dude I can't line this shit up the longest jump the fuck I'm gonna keep going this skater started the brand positive skateboards

1:12:32Davis Torgerson:Oh wow, that's not what I was thinking of.

1:12:38Davis Torgerson:Fuck me.

1:12:43Okay. This skater, another trick tip video, had their own trick tip video that was released exclusively at Payless Shoes. Yo, does this skater like to freestyle when he's drinking?

1:13:02I don't know. I don't know that information. I don't know who you're thinking of. I feel like a lot of skaters probably like to do that.

1:13:18Davis Torgerson:Is it Andy McDonald? Wait, did I just say that? Fuck. Let me take that back. Oh, he's going to say it is. Oh, he's gonna rescind his guess. How do you guys feel about that? Are you guys okay with that? I don't give a shit. Yeah, let him rescind it. I don't want to take the risk. Cal. No, I mean, whatever. I said it. I can't take it back. That's crazy. No, it's Andy Mack. I'll go down to my last one. You're guessing? Yeah. Okay. It is Andy Mack.

1:13:59I tried to be like, you guys cool with him taking it back? No, I didn't even let me do it.

1:14:04Davis Torgerson:The only reason you let me take it back is if that was cool. I was really excited that you wanted to take it back. I'm like, hell yeah. What were they on together? Airwalk. Oh, shit. That's why I didn't get it. Pay less shoes. I'm like, that's the Andy Mack sponsor right there. I thought it was Steve Cab. I was thinking like Deer Deck for a sec. The Eastern Exposure, I think, threw you guys off. there was a section at uh i think woodward okay true and he had shit in there the only reason i thought about taking it back it already came out of my mouth and i'm like wait there's no way he's in eastern exposure three and then i bunted taking it back but no you got it i'll take it i was a huge guest i did not even know the longest jump and the pay less was like what the fuck is the longest jump dude i think it was like tell me that's not it was it was like before the mega ramp but it was like a big kicker to kicker kind of thing fuck dude i was locked in on steve cab he would be the first person to skate in the white house too i was thinking street skater the whole time until you said longest jump and i'm like i was thinking jeremy klein for a minute yeah jed sorry i gave it back it's all good yeah jed comes on here he hasn't been on the pod in seven years and you give him i'm hyped on the challenge and then jesse come jesse comes on and i give him plg just the most random bird skaters?

1:15:23Nah, nah, it's good, it's good. That's cruel work, man. Well, Jed, thank you, bro.

1:15:28Davis Torgerson:I gotta come on again and try to fucking get this shit. I'm not sure if you know how this show works. Get in line, bro. Get in line, bro. You know, in like five, six, seven, eight years, you know? It's true. You know what we gotta actually do together? We actually gotta go snowboarding with you one day, Jed. That's what I really wanna do. Yeah, we should do a snowboard trip. Now you're getting crazy that would be fired that just sounds like the most cap from you i've ever heard

1:15:59Davis Torgerson:let's just do the fucking trip that's never gonna happen one day though one day we can make one day happen we can do one day you've got mail welcome back to the post office brought you by our good friends over at dickie skateboarding quality workwear since 1922 from the work site to the streets ain't nobody keep you fitted like diggies man all right ghost busy post office who we got up first all right first up email from kirby woodruff on the last post office i saw bunt yeti but it's not on the site how do i get one of those how about a bunt box you get me yo and on random skater i used to always root against safa but he gets so hyped when he wins I'm always rooting for the man's now he's a top tier trash talker appreciate you coming around man appreciate you coming around I know I became the bad guy on Random Skater you know too much success that always happens it's like the sports arc you know what I'm saying underdog until you kill it too hard and then they're all rooting against you hating on you but I'm glad you came back around And Donald, tell them what's up with the fucking Yetis and the whatnots.

1:17:17Davis Torgerson:You know what I'm saying? The Yetis and the whatnots. We're working. We're in the lab right now. Obviously been a crazy whirlwind past four or five weeks for myself and the ghost. But we're always scheming behind the scenes, working on some merch. I think we have a couple hats, a couple t-shirts, maybe a hoodie, and then some small things. You know, some Yetis and I think another accessory. Oh, a mug. Yeah. See, the plants, this shit's coming together. You know what I mean? It always takes us longer than we'd like to to get more merch. But that's the nature of the game. But it will be on the website soon.

1:17:56Fully restocked. I'd like to say before next season starts. I don't know what time frame that is, but it's coming. It's good news, man.

1:18:06Davis Torgerson:yeah keep i mean yeah if we're not on air just make sure you uh follow us on instagram keep y 'all posted the store will be back soon and then just know that at the next bunt jam august 28th and 29th in toronto there will be more bunt merch than you could even hope for man so get to toronto there will be collabs in every direction we've ever worked in uh get to the bunt jam man that's where the merch is going to be at. Sefa will sign it for you. Alright, next up we have an email from Scott Cardiganer. What's up guys? Loving this season. A while ago, I think I remember you guys saying that we need a new word for Mongo.

1:18:50How about changing Mongo to Blaze to honor one of the few front foot pushers to make the pro ranks? Blaze Bluein. Randy Colvin might have been the more obvious choice but pushing randy didn't sound right to me pushing blaze blaze push switch blaze hey and ask for a question safer what's your favorite brand of chainsaw peace scott

1:19:18Davis Torgerson:i see what he's trying to do there yeah i'm saying and i can't have the energy for it i can't think of any other chainsaws except for

1:19:35all right um are we changing the name mongo push i don't remember that coming politically correct

1:19:43Davis Torgerson:anymore or ever sorry i don't know when did that even come up i like mongo it sounds better than i kind of like pushing randy though he said that doesn't sound good Andy? It's got a ring to it. Yeah. I think we're sticking with Mongo around here. I don't think we're moving off of that. That's too much work, dude. Yeah. I appreciate you. Next up, we got an email from Tom H. Hey, boys. I've been a listener for many years. You guys helped me get through some stressful plane rides over the years. Thank you for that. Quick question. I hate seeing clips when the photographer shoots the photo and goes straight to looking at it instead of actually looking at the person riding away from the trick.

1:20:29Davis Torgerson:It seems to be a bit too professional and disrespectful, but hey, maybe that's just me. Would love to know if it ever crossed your minds. Thank you for everything you do. Dude, epic time for this to come through. You get caught looking at that photo too quick, you might have your pants down, Ryan Allen. You know, you gotta keep your eyes on the streets. I've never thought of it is like disrespectful or too professional or something but it's definitely something photographers do they're worried about their shot man yeah i i i love this email because it's definitely something i think most skaters have probably noticed at some point and it does crack me up i don't really have strong feelings either way uh i'm sure if i was a photographer and potentially making money potentially getting a cover or something crazy you want to see how it looks you know the clip's going to be seen shortly after but i do try and watch like remember in toronto carlos hit the double set and i was filming it with my phone but i love seeing it with my own eyes so sometimes i like do the film where like ghost filming it and then i look at it after and i miss it yeah so i i would probably be watching the person and fucking it up that way but But to each their own, man.

1:21:50All right. Next up, we have a voice note from Sean Hall. And before we get to it, it says, Saifa, can you please shout out my good homies, Hugh Jass and Mike Hunt. Shout out the boys, man. Let's take a listen. Just finished the TJ Rogers episode.

1:22:08Davis Torgerson:And don't know that guy called you out for your pronunciation of Detroit or Detroit, as you say. I've noticed you do that too but I would never change that because it's funny when you get words wrong or say stuff just wrong enough for it to be silly like in the random skater of the week with Kalos you instead of saying blip on the radar or flash in the pan you said blip in the pan and then the antithesis thing or antithesis yeah it just reminds me of Ricky from trailer Oh, fuck. Don't worry about, uh, I don't know about the other listeners, but I don't come to the bunt for like proper grammar and like an academic setting.

1:22:52So just keep letting it fly with all your heart, man. It's when you get it wrong, it's, it still lands cause it's funny. Uh, and yeah, I guess my question is, uh, what happened to all the clips, man?

1:23:05Davis Torgerson:Where's the bunthole clips? Uh, did you guys stop accepting them or did people just stop submitting them? It's pretty dry lately I tried to get a little A little meager two-piece at the skate park This last weekend And couldn't even muster that up But yeah, just wondering where the clip's been at Alright, peace Dude, when did this Like become my thing Where I like can't speak English anymore It's always been your thing But I think I think maybe Jesse Alva Started making fun of you in the group chat Like every week but I don't know I hope it never changes it's hilarious anti-hesis was amazing but yeah I think once you just let loose and say fuck it man it gets a little easier it's at peak form during sports season because when you're trying to pronounce players names that's when it always goes haywire but we love it and apparently the listeners do too so gravis was the the most oh yeah one but after that i'm like i can't really fuck anything up more than that and like games everybody fucks names up it's no big deal that was probably where it really started yeah oh yeah carlsbad gap that just makes the whole word oh yeah what'd you say again carlsberg yeah that's been years that was like 2020 he said carlsberg dead serious is um what was the question in there the submissions where have the clips been we don't know dude sean man where's your two-piece dude yeah start with yourself agreed simple solution would love to see two-piece man and that was a great voice note thank you that was um all right next up father son bunt jam trip love that what up safe and donnell me and my 16 year old son are coming to the bunt jam this year from cleveland ohio and i was wondering what was the best burger spot and taco spots uh in the city that would be a nice dinner with a few beers thanks for all the amazing episodes cheers dude i'm so hyped on this father son to the bunch him you know you gotta holler at us when you see us um favorite burger spot dude i'm interested to hear what yours is it's been a while since we were on our burger hunt they uh the interest for burgers kind of tailed off a bit but favorite burger spot for me i probably still go my favorite one is uh the uh what the fuck i haven't been in a minute now.

1:25:58Allen's?

1:25:59Davis Torgerson:No, no. Queen and Broadview. That's close, dude. They've been done. No, not like get a Beamer and a fucking burger. Oh, my bad. At the Comrade. But you said Queen and Broadview, so I thought something else. Yeah. No, the Comrade, you can go get a burger, epic burger and a Beamer. And that's my favorite for sure. 100%. still that's that's a classic you can't go wrong there um oh i actually have kind of like a low-key one at the what the fuck is that place called there's like a coffee shop on ronzi called the review or the revenue something along those lines and there's a little burger shop around the side and they sell a burger called the full the four guys burger it's like the gold standard it's fucking incredible so ronzi gold standard search that one up um tacos you got tacos the only thing with that is if you're going to the bun gym i hope you're probably look for somewhere kind of in the east end a little closer to the venue the comrade is like perfect you'd have to cross the city go hella far straight downtown for the bun champs even as good as well yeah um tacos it's a bit of a struggle um there's that place in kensington but i can't remember what it's called there's a bunch in kensington el asador that's probably the last place i had a good taco on on bloor yeah that's west end though by christy station but yeah you could just find a gus tacos it's kind of a little bit of a chain in toronto gus tacos but they hit man Super simple.

1:27:49Nothing fancy. But shit, we're excited to have you at the Bun Jam, man. Make sure you holler at us, Hunter. Thank you for the email. And we love Cleveland, man. Shit. We had one of the most epic trips to Cleveland. All right. Next up, we have an email from our good homie, Rob from Plus Skateboarding. Let's take a listen, man. What up, boys? This is Rob from Plus Skateboarding. I just wanted to respond to this voice note that I just heard on episode 9 from Bury My Cock and Him about the way that you say Detroit, Donno. And that just fucking got me a little pissed off, dude, because Detroit was founded by the French Antoine Cadillac.

1:28:38And I guarantee that motherfucker didn't say Detroit like Eminem does. so uh he probably said it closer to detroit which i uh love every time i hear you say detroit that way dono because uh another hero uh ron mcclain from hockey night canada always says detroit and i fucking love it dude uh not every motherfucker uh speaks the exact same way these boys are from Canada and they might say Detroit a little differently than we might say it so I think that's fucking cool and Dono just keep saying it the way that you're saying it bro peace you know I tried to work on my pronunciation of Detroit it just doesn't feel the same so however I say it is how I'm going to say it Rob you're a legend man you guys are going through some shit right now with the Red Redwings.

1:29:36They're having a great year. And they've decided to fall off at the worst time. But hopefully they can get it together. Brutal loss to the Minnesota Wild the other day. But they got the Pistons. The Pistons. First place in the East. We'll be cheering them on. But, dude, fuck Ron McClain. I actually hate Ron McClain for the way he did. Our man Don Cherry sold out his best, bro, instead of going down with his homie. but everything else I love about that voice note damn

1:30:09Davis Torgerson:alright shout out Rob legend alright next up we got an email from Kevin Proctor PSL killers what up bump boys awesome to see you guys live at the PSL finals if you had to pick your PSL dream teams who would it be thanks for always holding it down with the pod need to see a nine club versus bunt game of skate oh i don't know if they want that smoke bled he can actually fuck they got kelly kelly's all hurting shit dude but if any when it comes to crispiness on flat yeah it doesn't get much crispier so maybe i take that back yeah and then i mean it would be a good thing he wants us to come to their event at santa monica so that would be dope too at the courthouse.

1:31:00They're doing it again this year. Yeah.

1:31:05Davis Torgerson:Fuck. He's got he's got fucking switch barrel heels. Nolly big heels. We might get smoked actually. And Jerron's got nolly lasers and shit. We'd have to learn some shit.

1:31:20Davis Torgerson:That would be cool as fuck though. Anything like Nine Club versus Bunt would be fucking dope. Fuck with that. we would need a third though oh we get davis we get davis yeah then then it's fair three on three meo would be sick to do it psl style down a set no don flat ground but like psl format okay i like that where you get to pick who does it i wouldn't have to do anything

1:31:47Davis Torgerson:but on offense you have to go i'd take a turn or two yeah so yeah let's set that up man let's set that up fuck yeah we should do that at the santa monica courthouse man everyone healthy like i think that would be a good game that would be great for the people it's always fun running in the club these days you know yeah start working on your switch trays boys a funny motherfucker um dream psl team i mean basically you are literally just looking for first team all-stars who are the first team all-stars from PSL which would be like the top three well we could just do a draft right now pick three each rock, paper, scissors for who has first pick but then it's not the dream team because the sixth person is not going to be on the dream team who cares and are we counting captains?

1:32:43Davis Torgerson:yeah everyone plus people that aren't in it just three each The delay, dude. That was... Whatever. Go first. I don't give a fuck, man. All right. First pick. My first pick. What a scrub, dude. Let me grab... I'll go... I'll go Art. I'm shocked, dude. I got to go with my boy, KJ. The new MJ of this skate game. Christian Jordan, 23. Let's go. Okay. I like that. We're doing people that aren't in it as well. Whoever you want. Okay. Next up. I will take. Fuck it. I'll take Christian Dufresne. All right. Next up. Easy one for me. I'll take Miles Silvis.

1:33:41Check the stats, man. My team's unstoppable right now. Christian fell off towards the end I don't know what stats you were looking at but if you watched him in weeks 5 and 6 he wasn't the same

1:33:52Davis Torgerson:and then last but not least let me bring in a wild card let me go with the youth Dylan Jabe I'm shocked I'm shocked he went that way that's great I can either go for the win or I can go for style do I take Ginwu or do I take Zach Oh, fuck. I forgot. I'll just take Gin Wu. Fuck. And then it's over, man. The three is a rippity rap for the kid. Wow. Tripping. Okay. Should we do two more? Why you want to catch up? Yeah. Alright. No, whatever. One more for a bench. One more? I'm a bench player. Okay.

1:34:37Davis Torgerson:I kind of you know what I'm saying? I'm going to die for his team. Let me go Julian Aguilarity, man. Dude, that is a dusty team, man. All right. I'll take Shane O 'Neal. My team's Dusty, Art, Defense, Aguilarity, and Dylan Jame. Like, are you insane? I'll take Shane O 'Neal. It's over. Okay. Okay. Someone build this out in like a fucking AI fucking builder. See who would have won. Yeah. Write that up. Kinu, though. That's my bad. Okay. next up we have an email from Dominic Ryan yo my question is for the ghosts I'm from St. Louis and a big Jabari Pendleton oh my god and a big Jabari Pendleton supporter just wondering what made you throw that board up on the wall and when can we see him on the show um so just been a fan for years I think uh I saw him oh you know what I saw him skate when I was 19 at 3rd and Army and you know anyone who's seen him skate he's got a frame of a skater that you don't think is going to be as beast as he is and i just saw this guy come in mock 10 third in army like rounded ledges just doing switchback 50 back 180s and shit like going so fast and then after i got home from that trip i watched all his parts and uh and then dono was riding i don't think you're I mean, Donald had access to Western Edition boards.

1:36:08Davis Torgerson:Yeah. So Donald knew I was a fan and he actually got me that board as a present. And yeah, just that's the story, man. Huge Jabari fan. Absolute legend. And we will get him on the show. Yeah, we got to. Bet your final dollar on that shit. Season 24. Jabari in the building. All right, hell yeah. All right, last up for this week, we got a voice note from Christian Anderson. Let's take a listen. Yo, Dono, safe. First time caller. First time voice messenger. Long time listener. I just want to say I was playing some pinball before leaving this message, and my balls went right down to me there. Gutter balls all day.

1:37:04So my question for you is, which U.S. state would you live in if you had to move to the states? You can't pick Cali. You can't pick New York. And fuck it, you can't pick Florida. And you can't pick Chicago. I know that's not a state. Anywhere else. Let's hear what you got. Peace. And thanks for all you do. Love you guys. Dude, I think Florida was the safe out there. I got a map definitely wasn't going to New York or Chicago if I'm leaving I'm going somewhere warm like warm all the time Cali may have been on the list I don't think it would have been in the top three though so Florida was the easy answer um i would move to detroit but they got the same winter bullshit going on so i would say my process of elimination going to the great state of texas everything's bigger in texas the gas is still affordable the highways are enormous one of the cleanest places i've ever been and then for a backup never been there but maybe arizona or

1:38:29Davis Torgerson:something like that yeah fuck man you you eliminated my three because for me now it would be california one maybe florida two kick it with nick katz you know i'm saying new york three or you could flip those ones actually no i'd go florida fuck winter um wow texas i loved i'm not but i'll pick something different than donald does puerto rico count man i love puerto rico man let me shit you know what i'm saying motherfucker oh puerto rico or bro i feel like i actually haven't even been anywhere else i like seattle when i was there but am i trying to move there not really bro you kind of fucked us up with the fucking where's vegas nevada never been actually no that's insane i've never been there i don't know man you messed me up maybe i'll maybe i'll just go fucking michigan deal with winter ah dude go to tech come to texas man let's just go the hell would you you can't leave winter to go to another one that's the thing i know he's giving you the out i'm glad this is just a hypothetical because California.

1:39:55Davis Torgerson:You're close enough to Cali. Bounce back and forth like Oski, man. No state tax. We'd be rich. Go watch the Cardinals and the Suns fucking suck all the time. Yeah, that sounds awesome. Great idea. Alright, thank you everybody for the emails and voice notes. Get them in to thebuttonlive at gmail.com and send in the clip or two if you have one. We might put it on here. We might not. Only time will tell. One last post office for the season. Catch you all next week.

1:40:34Welcome back to the rundown, the skateboard world source for sports. We are quickly approaching the NFL draft. Always a crazy time. Always trades. People trading up in the draft, trading down. Stars are on the move. and this year is no different a couple big names looking for some new sceneries maybe yes maybe no we'll start with george pickens rumors are he doesn't want to return to dallas on a one-year deal they franchise tagged him uh it's his right to move on he wants you know a long-term deal as does everyone more likely stays in dallas on a new deal gets traded somewhere and where if he gets traded i have no idea but uh i wouldn't be mad if he left because i got cd as a potential keeper

1:41:29Davis Torgerson:so let me soak up those targets man but uh man i think people i mean the franchise tag no one wants it but i think some people could learn from the kurt cousins blueprint career blueprint it's i think he's top two if i saw that correctly in all-time earnings like and that dude took the franchise tag a couple times i'm pretty sure and then his agents obviously an all-star got him all this guaranteed money but like man the franchise tag is a lot of money so 14.4 i think it is what gets what that's it i thought it was in the 20s if it's only 14 then fuck maybe i'm brutal for a receiver no it's in the 20s because don't they average the top five wide receiver salaries or something i don't remember how it works but um dude they gotta keep him the offense never worked better than when they had him and cd going back and forth and as we all know guys miss games they miss a couple weeks at a time like you need to have the top two passing attack locked in give them two three years whatever it takes but same thing man kirk cousins got to free agency as many times as he possibly could and look at him generational wealth making more than everybody you don't need to be the best you need to be the smartest and kirk has been killing it for years and he's not even going to play in Vegas.

1:43:02They're going to draft like it's insane, but good for him. Next up, another wide receiver, BTJ, Brian Thomas Jr. Looks like could potentially be the odd man out, but I'm tending to think they just keep him.

1:43:20Davis Torgerson:Yeah, he was a huge letdown, and then pieces emerged around him. I mean, it's hard to say what they should or shouldn't do right now because the draft is so soon. But I wouldn't mind seeing him get a new home and see if he can refine that magic. Because it's never worked between him and Trevor Lawrence. Like, he emerged as elite in his rookie season with Mack Jones. There's reports that the Jaguars will use Travis Hunter more as a cornerback this year. lean more on Myers, Thomas, and Parker Washington as the wide receivers. But, I mean, they probably said that last year too. And then Travis Hunter played a lot more wide receiver than people expected.

1:44:06Yeah, we'll see. We'll see. In one of, obviously, the most shocking moments of the offseason, the Max Crosby saga, he's back with Vegas for now. Will he end up finding a new home again? one that sticks like before the season or anytime you think it's an in-season trade

1:44:31Davis Torgerson:oh like you mean in this next year though i don't know i i want them to get the hell out of there but i mean now people are starting to say vegas might be i if they draft smartly get their qb they got kirk you know i'm saying they got brock yeah i mean there i feel like there are a few pieces away from being like a decent team and then who knows if the qb ends up being elite down the line could be uh for the best that he didn't get traded but i don't know this year i'm not expecting much from them this year should go to the giants team on the rise they could use max maybe slip into the playoffs when a round or two and then the growth is there next up alvin kamara obviously all signs point to him being on the move um what is the ideal landing spot for car where can he make a difference i don't know he's fucking cooked man um i don't know what he doesn't really seem to have much juice left like i i could see him just being a pass catcher back somewhere maybe maybe fucking send them to the chiefs and then you got you know k9 and ak yeah i wouldn't mind that some veteran fucking beasts at running back it's been so long since they've been elite at that position since kareem hunt's rookie season man they've been pretty dog shit uh they just got some good news this week that Rasheed Rice will face no discipline for his actions.

1:46:10All systems go for Rice, so signs are pointing up for the Chiefs. Maybe that is a good spot.

1:46:16Davis Torgerson:Justin Fields about to light the world on fire, man. In the preseason. The name that's been talked about the most for the longest time, AJ Brown, still an eagle. You see him leaving? i hope so it's been a it's been a sad situation to just watch him just be worse and worse like stats wise and fucking obviously happiness wise so please the last thing i saw was tension between the eagles and jalen hurts uh let's get my man aj brown out of there man fresh start what if they move Jalen and keep everyone else. I'd be down for that too. Fucking. But who's the ideal available quarterback that could go in there with, you know, all the pieces that the Eagles have and kind of...

1:47:14Available? No one. It would have to be a trade. What if it is a trade? Who is it? Who's willing to let go of their franchise quarterback right now?

1:47:26Davis Torgerson:fuck and no one i don't think anyone would want like who you tell me i don't think anyone's trying to give up like a herbert or fucking someone like no it would have to be worse but like i think that the illusion of jalen hurts as an elite quarterback is is uh going away yeah um who could it be what if no they don't want him i was gonna say jj mccarthy but who even wants him the fuck jared goff no they wouldn't trade jared goff for hurts they love goff in detroit could have been kirk cousins bro no chance they're taking his he's pretty fried too man yeah he's too old so they're just stuck with jalen yeah i don't mind it i mean i'm not rooting for the Eagles.

1:48:20Okay. Last but not least, from your Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf, is he leaving?

1:48:28Davis Torgerson:What's the latest? I didn't see that. There's just, you know, there's no guaranteed money left on Metcalf's contract. Two-time Pro Bowler, unlikely to play on a contract without the security. It says trade meter from 1 to 10. he uses seven for wanting to leave uh i'm down for them to move on i'm well you know i've been saying for years like let's blow it up and and start over properly with a qb and all that i just dk metcalf kind of i feel like he's all smoking mirrors man he obviously combined he was just like this super freak and then i think he had a really good rookie year second year i can't remember and he was pretty elite for fantasy and i feel like his name has just got that recognition that he always gets drafted like he's elite but i've never had him in fantasy once i've never like bought the the hype on him so i'd be down for him to bounce i have no idea what the steelers are doing for next year but yeah dk not a fan never have been it's kind of crazy that fucking I feel bad for Tyler Lockett because I was a fan.

1:49:44Davis Torgerson:They, I think, won the Super Bowl like a year before he was drafted, something crazy, and then won it a year and he left. Oh, he just missed out. But DK, bro, I didn't feel bad for him when it's like he leaves and they immediately become a lead. DK, I think, should become a Buffalo Bill. Please, please do. We need the red zone target. The size. Yeah, he's a perfect mix. You get DJ Moore, pair him with DK Metcalf. I think it could work. Last but not least, the biggest wild card out of everyone, Brandon Ayuk. May end up just being released, so he'll end up signing somewhere. Ideal landing spot for Ayuk.

1:50:32Davis Torgerson:Washington. and that's where he's wanted to go from the start. I think he's boys with Jaden Daniels. I can't remember the connection there, but that's where he almost went last season. So let's make it happen. I would hate to see Ayuk's story fucking just be this sad and the mental health, all that stuff that's been swirling around. So I'd love to see him get another shot, redeem himself. he's a really good wide receiver when healthy what do you expect from Jaden Daniels this year bounce back to elite realms I think so I mean I had him in fantasy so I watched all his games he wasn't as magical as last year but he was hurt so early in the season it was like he never got a fair chance Terry was hurt the whole time as well was never good Okay, moving over to the NBA.

1:51:33The season's about to wrap up. The playoffs are upon us. The Raptors have slid into seventh place. Your worst fear. The Hawks have now taken a two-game lead. We're currently tied with the 76ers. Where do we land, man? Do we get the job done and stay out of the plan?

1:51:54Davis Torgerson:Well, the good thing is, tonight the Sixers take on the Spurs, who were just on fire of late. So the Spurs are an eight-and-a-half point favorite. That gives me hope that that's an L there. And then tomorrow we get to play the Heat, which is very winnable at home. So if they lose and then we win, we're back in the sixth seed. And then we control our destiny, right? So we play the Heat twice, actually, and then philly plays houston another very losable game then we play the knicks oh man this is gonna come down to the wire man i'm fucking then we play oh we play brookin we play brooklyn and then philly plays the bucks oh my god this is gonna be yeah wow i think coming down to the last of the last i think we we will toronto raptors will regain the sixth seed and we will shit on bill simmons Let's go, Perk.

1:52:56That would be great. All of the teams, it looks like the most excitement is going to come for fighting to get out of the play-in. Everybody's already locked their spots in the play-in, with seeds 11 through 15 in both conferences being eliminated. Out of the East and the West, the teams in the play-in, who are most likely to win a playoff series?

1:53:25Davis Torgerson:Well, in the East, Charlotte Hornets, like 1 ,000%. They've been one of the best teams in the NBA, shockingly, for the last three or four months or something crazy. They'll just randomly beat an elite team by 25 points on a given night. So that's probably the funnest wild card right there. I hope they make it. They could legitimately beat the Pistons, man, if Cade's not. like yeah and it looks like he's not gonna be the right cate yeah which is very sad devastating because after their loss to the knicks last year you know they came in hot this season obviously proved themselves i don't think anyone expected them to be the the number one seed in the east coming into the year so that'll be a fun matchup and then in the west i mean the clippers Kawhi's been fucking gnarly trailblazers ain't serious sons not taking too seriously the Warriors just got Steph back but he's got not enough health like that's a mercy the Warriors are locked in to a playoff spot six games under 500 like playing yeah yeah I mean they tried they they were in the weirdest spot where they lost Steph for like over a month but there was even there was no way they could follow the play-in because the teams beneath them have been tanking just awful forever so it was like they just brought stuff back last night after like a month and a half off yeah barn burner of a game with houston yeah he almost won had the last second shot so yeah i'd say clippers and and hornets would be my favorite to win a playoff series i can't wait for the playoffs man how's hockey looking uh for the for the leafs no no just in general the leafs are probably in the worst space they've ever been in in in the matthews era but but this shit happens you know uh for years we chased and chased and chased sold all of our draft picks, all of our assets.

1:55:31Now the cupboards are bare. Matthews is hurt. We lost Marner. A harsh reality is upon us. The darkness is here and let's just hope it doesn't stay for too long. But the Tampa Bay Lightning are back to their old tricks. Amazing to see the Buffalo Sabres. Haven't been in the playoffs for, I think, over 10 years. Get the second seed in the Atlantic Division and that team is absolutely buzzing at the right time. The Montreal Canadiens are back in the playoffs outside of a wild card. They're going to go up against Buffalo, it looks like. It's just, it's madness. And, you know, I said that I would cheer for Minnesota, which I would ride with Davis.

1:56:14He's coming out of the toughest division in hockey, Colorado, Dallas, and Minnesota. It's going to be a bloodbath. It's exciting, man. You got young teams like the Ducks are in the playoffs. The Utah Mammoth are in the playoffs. The Flyers somehow. Now, the Penguins have gone on a run with Sidney Crosby out for the last couple weeks. So, I guess Colorado is the favorite to win it all. But they have suspect goaltending, which is nothing new to them. So, we'll see what happens. The Oilers, you know, they could go on a run as well. Could be their year. No Florida, which has been their kryptonite the last two years.

1:56:52I've hated on the Oilers for a long time. But Canada needs to win something. Bro, I've been trying to tell you that. Fuck, man. It's desperate times. After losing the Olympics, dude, McDavid needs this for his career. But there was one thing I wanted to ask you. Something's going on with Stephen A. Smith. He called out Luca, said he might not be hurt. He was faking it or something. And what's the Matt Barnes beef?

1:57:26Davis Torgerson:Bro, I was on the road. I haven't been locked in. I've seen. I saw what Matt Barnes said. I just saw Stephen A saying, like, I'm going to address it. Blah, blah, blah. I think it's the dog days of the regular season. And these fucking sportscaster people are just. They turned on each other. They're just trying to fucking keep the clicks alive. Like, it's. You know, I love Stephen A. We both do. He's entertaining. But sometimes I'm just like, bro. I'm just. I've seen this a thousand times with like. so-and-so calls you out and then you you your answer you respond and it takes half an hour and you just yeah talk about your resume i'm like bro i just don't care right now yeah i don't need to i've actually tuned out the first take a little bit found a little bit boring the last little while they need to bring the characters back michael irving needs to come back uh yeah i don't know might be the end of steven a smith for me i haven't decided yet but i think we just need football season back yeah that's the best sport to talk you got dan o and everyone in the building it's just a little bit boring right now agreed um any more news man oh we can talk uh we obviously went to the psl finals and then i came home and then the last weekend you went to street league first time ever being at a street league uh how was the atmosphere how was the skating uh what was it like it was it was awesome minus the fact that it was like so hot and i wore black pants and black shoes and was dying um but no it was incredible shout out uh duarte for hooking up the the ticks me and bob la salle pulled up it was his first one as well uh our boy mitch flew down for the day uh we had a blast little canadian invasion johnny purcell uh we were all in the building and i mean not to be a hater but it reminded me of the olympics because remember the first one i think when jagger got second or was it the last one or did he get second at both i can't even remember but it was like uto saved the olympics from like jagger winning and like being the face of like the olympics and shit which i feel like most street skaters aren't wouldn't be that hyped on so it was the same thing uh young korean legend pulled up nollie 270 backboard uh in the clutch and uh bro 17 years old dreams coming true clutch couldn't ask for a better event it was it was amazing to be there in person fucking uh antoine dixon was skating like it was awesome event if there was fucking local food things all types of tacos and uh they skated over a car before for half an hour jam it was just awesome to be there i hope to go to many more street leagues and uh yeah congrats to everyone behind the scenes on that one all right that's gonna wrap up this week's episode of the bunt One more next week.
