In short

Season 23 finale of The Bunt featuring skate legend Ishod Wair. The show mixes skate-video culture talk, “shout out of the week,” and a long interview focused on Ishod’s career, parts/filming mindset, specific trick stories, and off-skate life (sports, cars, fashion/modeling).

Guests (and backgrounds)

  • Ishod Wair: Pro skateboarder from Bordentown, New Jersey; started skating young after seeing it on TV; skated with local crews and later got noticed through contest/resume footage. Known for major video parts and for winning SOTY in 2013.
  • Vance (host): DJ Jones; runs The Bunt.
  • Ant (behind the scenes): production support.
  • Donald (host): co-host.
  • No other named guests appear as interview subjects in the transcript.

Key claims / themes

  • Ishod says he’s never satisfied with any part and always wants the “next one,” partly because modern expectations push too many parts too fast.
  • He describes his early fame as “incognito” until people recognized him in public.
  • He frames SOTY as not something he “campaigns” for—he just skates and lets results happen.
  • He discusses being criticized for interests outside skateboarding (especially fashion/modeling) but says skating performance forces respect.

Notable examples (specific stories/tricks)

  • He recalls “resume kid” days: Extreme Function in NJ sent his contest resume to Tampa (before 2010), leading to sponsors.
  • He confirms 270 lip as the ender of his Since Day One part.
  • He explains ledge progression: early ledge limits led him to do tricks down rails first, then level up later.
  • Behind-the-scenes: switch crook ender and switch front blunt on a Clipper; he says some clips/tries were edited in ways he disliked (cuts between clips).
  • He tells a long story about nollie backside flip into a triangle in Miami (a long-running goal spot).
  • Off-skate: he describes a BMW Z8 dream car and how BMW rebuilt his crashed car after a t-bone incident; later, a homeless person set multiple cars on fire.

3:40Davis Torgerson:It's how a lot of us connect to skating in the first place Lately videos are treated as disposable content Algorithms decide what gets seen and full lengths are reduced to a couple of clips in a feed That's not how skate videos are meant to be experienced That's why the den was built The Den is a skate video app curated and designed by skaters. It has a deep catalog of videos preserved in their original quality, pure vision, pure sound exactly the way filmers intended them to be seen. From the classics to the latest releases and a 24 hour live channel for when you just want to kick back and zone out.

4:17Davis Torgerson:The Den was made so when something special comes along, it stays front and center long after the feeds moved on. so if you care about skate videos like we do become a member and download the den for free on iphone android the web apple tv and amazon fire tv i want to keep it a little shorter and sweeter but i just can't resist oh you gotta take your own post office medicine a quick quick shout out to uh we met him down in cincy emil dropped a new part so you know a64 course emil haha um killing it as per usual and then uh this uh young japanese crew dirty rabbit three dropped um that was epic but shout out of the week goes to bunt alum one of our favorite skaters one of our good homies it's dom henry you know i'm saying king henry special you know i'm saying cold half i think i actually missed it uh the week it came out but i i've since watched it maybe three or four times dom you know you're the man those last three tricks straight fire i won't spoil them so go check that out dom henry cold half absolute bangers massive shout out to dom massive um dude i just got to bring this up you know we're always critical of asics due to our relationship with davis um this is the first time that uh asics has gotten a shout out with no notes no suggestions no criticisms so massive shout out to emil that video was insane had a little section at the doctor's office which if you haven't been to cincinnati it looks like one of the greatest spots of all time and maybe it is but it's also extremely hard to skate and that thing that boneless he does bank to bank over the rail was absolutely twisted the nose grind on that big ledge was insane as well uh yeah shout out emil pleasure meeting him I just wanted to mention that man that was nice of you to just you know give him a shout out and that's it speaking yeah oh shit here we go I got a little criticism no I'm just kidding I should have let it go also shout out to sending JP to Tampa so you know I'm saying mad respect for that we all got to see the beer gut of pain no just did I say that a lot my bad nah nah JP we love you you know what I'm saying keep doing your thing keep it moving.

6:47JP is a character that the skate world needs. So we will do our best. Asics doing their thing. JP just stick around man because the world needs you. Skateboarding needs you and we love you brother. Suck my dickies.

7:04I think that introducing JP to Jesse was quite possibly the most diabolical and worst thing we've done to skateboarding. But But there's no going back now. Ghost, it's all said and done for us now, man. Last interview of the season. Let's get him in the building. The goat is here. Wait no further, man. Let's go.

7:32Let's get this thing popping. We've got a shot where in the building. Finally, been waiting a long time for this one, man. What's going on? Happy to be here. dude so we asked you before and uh 2017 if i remember correctly yeah you broke the record

7:48Davis Torgerson:for longest gap between saying yes to an interview and actually pulling up on the pod yeah clean clean nine years there are uh times i don't know what it was but it'd be like 5 30 i'd be like i gotta stop on 5 30 they'd be like what about next tuesday uh 4 30 i'd be like damn i gotta be somewhere at 3.30. You know what's funny? I wrote a full interview for you in 2020 and then I was rereading it today to see are any of these questions still relevant. I saved a handful of them. I took a bunch out. One of them was like, so you won SOTY seven years ago and now it's up to 13 years ago. Ryan Lewis, so Sean, you said you listened to the pod, so you know how we started off.

8:37You got to hit us with your favorite skate moment and your favorite sports moment. It's probably when I won Maloof money cup. And then after I won it, everybody was asking me to buy him drinks and stuff. After that, I didn't even get the money yet. I was like 17, 18. And I was like, Oh, this is how the world works. You win some shit and everybody wants something from you. This is how the world works. Holy shit. I got all the pros asking me for shit and I didn't even get the money yet. Jesus. Quick dose of reality. Realizations of life. Boom. People still bothering you for drinks? I mean, I guess.

9:17I mean, I wouldn't even look at it like that at this point. You know what I mean? It's just like at the point that that was, I was like 17 and I was just trying to like get sponsors and do everything I could. just so my mom didn't have to buy me stuff. You know what I mean? The next thing I know, I'm like hooked up and people are asking me for shit. And I'm like, I can't even pay for my own shit yet. So, you know what I mean? At this point, you know what I mean? I don't even think about it that way. But yes and no. I mean, fucking everybody gets asked for drinks at the bar. Come on now.

9:53Davis Torgerson:I've been to the bar with you a few times. You're generous with the drinks. I'll say that. You got to hook it up. You know what I mean? goes both ways. Part two was favorite sports moment. Probably the Eagles winning the... I knew you were going to say that. I wasn't in the city for that, which I wanted to see the city fucking go crazy, but I wasn't there for it. I was like, god dang. Wait, which one are you talking about? Because if you're talking about the one... The first one. The Nick Foles? After a long time. Yeah. Okay. What was that? Last year I was at Maltos and it was a Chiefs party. And you and Ant might have been like the only, and I think we're Ant's parents there.

10:36Ant's parents. We were the only Eagles fans.

10:38Davis Torgerson:Yeah. That was very sweet. You know what I mean? Because we were just rubbing it in. It was more of like a, you know. The villain. It was just like being extra, you know what I mean? Because they've won so many times, you know what I mean? Yeah. So it's like, give it back to them a little bit. But the first one was probably the best moment. Yeah. That was one of the best Huber Bowls of all time, man. Because that second one, it wasn't even like we were just walking all over. That was a beatdown. You know what I mean? It wasn't a good game. No. I know. There was probably 50 Chiefs fans at Malto's jerseys, everything.

11:16Davis Torgerson:And it was like whatever the score was at half, Ashad would just walk by the TV in like an Eagles jersey, no fucks given, not even paying attention. It was already game over. I was drinking, having a good time and they were just deflated I mean the night probably would have been way more fun if the Chiefs had won but I was satisfied with the outcome but yo back to skating for a sec here Sean take us back to the beginning man where did you grow up and how did you get into skating I grew up in Bordentown New Jersey and very small town and I saw it on TV. I thought it was, I thought it looked fun.

11:57Got a board a year after I was showing interest. Yeah, I picked it up and just never put it down. Had a couple of homies. Like I probably like skated by myself for like a year, maybe a little bit more than that. And homie Dylan Voss down the street from me started skating with him. And then I ran into C-Tams, Chris down the street from me. And then maybe like a couple of years later, I ran into the homie Connor McHugh. He was in a township, which was realistically like a mile away, probably less than a mile away. And then we were just the main crew for a really good time. So what would you consider your first big break in the skate industry?

12:34I skated for Extreme Function in Hamilton, New Jersey. And then from there, I sent a sponsor me. The owner of the skate shop sent a resume to Tampa, which I didn't know about at the time. You know what I mean? She sent a skate resume like, oh, he won this contest and this contest. He got the third of me. Oh, that's fine. Marianne, she was the owner. Marianne York, Alex York, good people. They were calling me like resume kid at Tampa. This was before 2010. So I went there a year before I actually started getting sponsors. So the first year I was a resume kid. People were like, oh, yeah, this is a kid with a resume.

13:16But I didn't even know about that. I was like, resume? Like, what are they talking about? Like, I don't know what they're talking about, but whatever. I'm about the trick, so I was just skating. But they would talk about it, and I was just like, all right. The next year after that, like 2010 is when I, like, they knew me as resume kid. I came back. I had a footie tape. And then I did pretty good in the contest, and I was giving my footage out. And, yeah, got some sponsors.

13:47Davis Torgerson:that's what's up i love that resume kids we got to bring that name back epic nickname yeah good on that owner man building that fucking resume that's a sick look at the resume gang yeah that's just too big now probably talk to me nice motherfucker uh so fast forward a little bit past the resume days you bang the skate world over the head with your since day one part back then you're a little hash killer the you got the tight pants and all that good stuff um how fun was filming that part take us back to that era and and how did things change for you once that dropped because it wasn't quite like Antoine Baker 3 but that was a lot of people's first time seeing you and blowing minds out the gate I mean when you're that young you're not even really thinking about it you're just like this is what I do I'm skating I'm having fun I'm like traveling so there was no real premeditation to anything that I was doing.

14:48I was just like, oh, I think this would be cool to do. You know? And then it just continued. You know? I just thought I was incognito and that was not the case. That ended that, man. Yeah, I'm just chilling like, eh, motherfuckers would be like, yeah, and I'd be like, oh. At the grocery store. At the restaurant. Eyeballs everywhere. where it's safe no more huh that shit changes quick man yeah so obviously 270 lip the real ender but is there a story behind the feeble 180 at the end of that well it did it so it's like i didn't at that point i had no hand in the editing workings you know what i mean so it's like clearly that was like my last trick and then they were just like you know what i mean kind of icebreaker I would assume ended on a light note yeah

15:44Davis Torgerson:I was super hyper and like goofy and stuff and I feel like I'm still kind of that way if I'm like around like my good homies and I'm just like I get all hyped when I'm skating so I'll just start spazzing but yeah I feel like that was like a a view into that side okay so confirmed 270 lip was the ender. Just making sure for the skate nerds out there. Yeah, was there a question about that? No, I don't think so. It was just a funny transition. I mean, ask Wolf. I mean, be like, that was fucking strange. Also in that part, I mean, back then, no disrespect, as Stephen A would say before saying something disrespectful.

16:32Davis Torgerson:Your ledge game was somewhat limited back then. you had a cute little line with a I think tail slide fakie then a switch tray then a switch front blunt switch tray was spanked on that back that was a good switch tray it was I was always proud of that switch tray maybe they didn't even want to use that line if I'm thinking back you forced them I want that line because I was like oh that switch tray was spanked but who was really like doing like just switch from blunts and lines like randomly like i was like fucking 16 what 16 year olds switch from one of those well it always just stuck out to me because after a spank switch track i actually really like that line i would i would never change it i'm not saying i'll be like keep it in i'm just saying it's gonna be there's gonna be question about it in like 15 years someone's gonna bring it up

17:34Davis Torgerson:that line always was just stood out to me because it was like you're like that's just ass who under the radar for 15 years and now somewhat somewhat it's ass for you because in one of your next video parts you did it down clipper and you also my the actual question was at what point were you like it's time for me to level up my ledge skating because now you've got a billion ledge tricks but in that part you were more like big ass front feebles and singles you know i'm saying i mean the thing is is you start low so you know what i mean i grew up skating with tom master and all these dudes are really good at ledges so i could skate ledges i wasn't one of those like unbalanced skaters because i'm not like a person that like learned one thing before another thing i had to learn the this before i learned that and then And when I learned that, I learned this.

18:28But it's like, how am I going to put a kickflip crook on a ledge when I can do it down the rail? I mean, I would just do it down the rail. Why do I use the ledge for this? It doesn't even make sense.

18:38Davis Torgerson:I totally agree. But you're not unbalanced. But that ledge line was unbalanced compared to the caliber of the rest of the part. But see, at the time, maybe I had not switched front-blooded a hubba. so I was like alright I'm gonna do for the level that my shit is you know what I mean it's like I'm not gonna front three lip a fucking nine stair rail when I'm no I can do it down to twelve stair you know what I mean it's the same thing for the leg so it's like I was just playing off the off what I had at the time you know what I mean I was learning to switch from blunts I'll pop back up later with the bigger one you feel me I love the natural progression but the funny thing is I've always liked that line and that Spitfire shirt.

19:24I had the red Spitfire shirt on and that was my famous shirt as a kid for like dumb long. I actually did a trick at the end of my part. I skidded that hub in LA. I did Smith 180 and the kick for a 50 and all that. It was the same shirt. So I also had a love for like a clip when I had that shirt on. Right. I was like a red Spitfire shirt with the white. Hell yeah. I poked the bear, man. He was ready for that. I think he's been waiting for someone to bring that line up. It had to, you know what I mean? Like, good switch, train, a line. You can't really, like.

20:00Davis Torgerson:Yeah. Fair, fair. You just learned those, right, Joe? Me? Yeah. You said I just learned those? Yeah. I had those when you were in diapers, my youth. Yeah.

20:18So you're probably one of the most productive skaters of all time. You've dropped countless parts now. Which part is your favorite and why? None of them. The next one? I'm never going to be satisfied. First of all, you know what I mean? At the point of my career, you know what I mean? In my life and my career of skating and everything. I feel like you're never, there's never a time when you're like, this is good enough. And as time goes on, we have a shorter amount of time to film. So like back in the day, you had a couple of years, you could do some shit, you know what I mean? And now it's like, from what happened, I kind of fucked some shit up, bro.

20:57Like I put that year out and now everybody's like, oh yeah, five parts. Now everybody wants to film fucking five parts in a year and nobody can be like, all right, I want to make something that actually means something. Let me put some time into it because it's not only just the skater, but it's also the industry wants and needs that. so it's like all right you'd be like all right like let me fucking put some time into it really lock in it's like kind of hard to do that with the amount of time that is expected of you in the day and age and skating that it is currently in so and even when i was younger i was like this shit ain't good enough i never thought a part was good enough so if you had to pick not that it's

21:40Davis Torgerson:your favorite but which one are you the most satisfied with because i none of them i'm never going to change my answer i like them a little bit but it's like maybe it's just me but i feel like a lot of people uh that skate feel that a deeper level even though somebody like killed it and they were like there was just that one thing that i didn't get i wanted that manual trick i wanted that ledge trick i wanted that one thing you know what i mean it's like chasing tracing chasing the magic dragon you know what i mean it's never like it's never enough and the thing about it is is accepting the fact that you know but you know what i mean like i feel like that's also what makes you want to be able to do good there's a lot of people out there that put footage out and they think it's good enough and it's not

22:33hey these days more than ever that's for damn sure so you're better off on on wanting and and really aspiring to something that's like that you have never achieved and that you were that you're trying to grasp it but you can't have it you know what i mean okay well real quick since

22:51Davis Torgerson:you won't pick donald let's give our favorites mine gotta be chronicles i tried to re-watch all your parts today and it's like a fucking hour of fucking footage but chronicles i think is still my favorite the song the edit was fire you said it was like an hour so all you were able to make it through was an hour and then you got bored what happened yeah then we had to start no no no bro i think i had maybe like one more part to watch and it was the one that got taken down your nike part you couldn't find it the switch flip front board part oh the back on my bullshit part oh that was that was a part that i was like oh my god this isn't good enough for me yeah that one that was that was a good part it's actually crazy that that part isn't online i know what the fuck i like the oceanic part all australia those ledge lines i was digging it because we went to australia recently he had some good some sick kits in that one too i was feeling I wasn't because I wasn't even out there to skate.

23:55I was dating this girl at a point out there and I was visiting her. And I was just, I didn't even expect to skate. I brought my board, obviously, but I didn't expect to like film or anything. And I was just like, went out there. I only skated five times. And I'll show you. Yeah, there was like a whole bunch of clips at that one spot, the yellow ledge in the like zip up hoodie with the glitter on it. Yeah. I think that was the first night The first or the second night I linked And the homies And I was just like oh yeah we were skating And then yeah

24:29Davis Torgerson:That's a chill one New age Yeah that was like some chill shit I was like bro I was like kind of injured Around the time that I came out So I was like I'll put this little shit out here So I just like Give me some little breathing room real quick Buy me a couple months Buy me a little bit of time You know what I mean? You've had so many parts. What's your process? Are you the kind of guy who just films a fuck ton of clips and puts it in the hands of the editor? Or do you have, like, a specific vision where you're like, all right, I need this clip. I got a trick list. I don't have a trick list. But, like, as of now, I'm going to start trick listing.

25:09Because, like, just the way my time is scattered, I have to, like, do that now. because before it was just so organic i was kind of always skating i didn't have these other things it was like always like oh i gotta do this i gotta do that uh but it was just like i was just kind of always outside so it just happened and then i was a part of as i got older i was more a part of the uh editing process and this that and the third song and the blah blah blah blah uh as i got older and now i feel like i gotta kind of lock in a little bit more you know what i mean you know i can't skate as long as i could before i could skate like eight hours like no problem boom all day not like not winded yeah chilling now i'm like

25:58Davis Torgerson:can't do it you know eight hours well no man seems insane jesus i miss those days man looking back to the younger me i'm like you were a dog for real dude that's when you could like Push from spot to spot, too, dude. I can't even make it three blocks pushing. I'm looking, hopping in any car. Yeah, I start riding those 93s, 94s, 93. You know what I mean? They got some new technology over there. It's nice. Spitfire. Let's go. Shameless plug. Capitalism. We ride with Spitfire anyway, so it's all good. You keep going if you want. Spitfire. Spitfire all day, bud. Send a box, too. Y 'all didn't start chatting.

26:40I know it might have to cut it short, but I see. You're good. They look like they fuck with them, Smiths.

26:51That's fine by us, man. Crazy to think it's been 13 years since you won SOTY in 2013. You've been in the running many years since then. Do you ever think you got robbed on a potential second or third trophy over the years? Where'd this question come from? This is a very sports question, man. You know, there's like the greats in all the sports could have probably won many MVPs over their time, like LeBron and Gretzky and guys like Barry Bonds. I was walking around the question. You got to answer this. You could have had it. I was walking around the question. I was like, wait, so how did this question come up?

Read the full transcript

27:32We talk a lot about SOTY around here. I bet you do. I bet you do. I mean uh sody sody sody it's not in my hands yeah not in any of our hands you know what I mean I skate and then I see what happens and that's all that happens even the first time I got it I wasn't even trying to go for it I was just skating and then the times that I was running in the running after that I was just skating so it was just like the fact of me getting it or not getting it was just it's not it has nothing to do with me I just do what I do and then let's see what people think about it so that's what i got to say about that one yeah you you won it before it became

28:12Davis Torgerson:like the fucking i don't want to call it a shit show but like what it is now is definitely different i don't remember what year it really shifted where it was like people campaigning and really going for it but i feel like in 2013 it was still chill i think that after my year it changed because if you look at before me the age of the people that were doing it and the people that were my peers and my the people that i was the same age with that i grew up skating with and this and the third at that point it was like so i feel like it was kind of a little less graspable like people didn't think it you know what i mean grant got it a couple years before me and then i got it And then people my age were like, damn, I can do that shit too.

29:01Let me turn up. And I feel like after that, maybe not the apparent year after, but after people kind of realized the formula, they could be like, all right, this is kind of the frameworks of what I need to do to be able to get to this point. Which ultimately also changed a lot of other things.

29:23Davis Torgerson:For sure. Hey, you got yours. Well-deserved. For sure, I feel like you deserve to get two. And then I can't remember all the years, but I definitely remember a couple of years being like, I would vote for Rashad again. But it is what it is. Maybe not in this timeline, different timeline. So skaters used to get more backlash, I feel like, back in the day for having interests outside of skateboarding. But these days it seems more acceptable, even encouraged in some situations to just be more of a diverse person with diverse interests you're into cars photography modeling to name a few uh have you felt a change throughout your career and how interests outside of skateboarding play into skating and did you ever get a hard time for it uh yes and no i feel like also i was like uh the big one there is the whole fashion modeling thing you know before me obviously like uh you know what i mean dylan reader you can't hate on dylan reader you know what i mean that'd be just cool amazing skater you know what i mean you know and then uh alex olsen of course he was doing a little bit of that there's people that were doing it there's people that were doing it that people didn't like and then i feel like i was in a kind of cusp where people were like i mean well he skates good enough to wear you can't say shit even when i was younger like in my town people like be like oh you're skater boy you're a little white boy like what are you doing like bro you should play basketball i'm gonna do what i want bro i like this go over there with that talk because i don't care i never did hundos hundos and you always back it up with skating that's the ultimate like just shut up thing or because i i mean you hear that's what i tell any younger person that is like yo how do i do it jam footy down throat they don't have to like you but they're gonna respect you if you really do it to them in the streets they're not even if they really don't like you they're gonna have to respect what you did and respect the time that you put in the big fuck i don't fucking like this motherfucker but i respect it yeah what happens that's what happens for real yeah i feel like the the skaters that would get upset about like seeing their favorite skaters start to like do other shit if you're still hitting them with a fucking banging part then it's like who cares you know but there's still gonna be people talking no matter what if you think about it though also like when people like if somebody isn't really like that cool in real life or they got some weird shit going on they'd be like yeah they're a good skater but blah blah blah that them even saying the fact that they're good at skater but blah blah blah they have enough respect about the person to be like damn they really be doing they shit but like i can't fuck with that person but like they really be talking they shit in the streets it really depends the level that you're doing like cancel torture people being like extraed out weird there's some weirdos bro this world's a crazy place man yeah one of the hobbies we talked about cars obviously you're a car guy is there a dream car for you that you hope to one day get or you already have it or what's the status there uh probably a bmw z8 I do not have a BMW Z8 Probably go for about 300k And it looks like The Mach 5 From Speed Racer We're not really car guys here So I have no idea Well it's a cartoon If you're old you guys are looking kind of old Holy shit bro Holy shit The hell is that necessary Is that necessary Mach 5 yeah how dare you bro me too come on man i'm not my own ain't nobody else coming up saying that to you bro like all right bro i look bro people have been like yo you look really you're looking older just so you guys look great for your age that's a good start you guys probably know this show because you you guys are older but look good for your age Yeah, there we go.

33:49This car looks crazy. You said talk to me nice. We on my podcast. Fucking delete that shit. Remove this question.

34:00Davis Torgerson:I feel like I remember seeing you do... You guys don't look old. You did some work. You did a campaign or something with BMW at some point, didn't you? Oh, yeah. Was that like a dream come true? Yeah, it was insane. So what happened was is... What had happened was, is I had a BMW on the East Coast. I had a BMW on the West Coast. One was supercharged. East Coast one. Turbo one. West Coast. I moved to California fully around the time that COVID happened. You know what I mean? I got a dog. All these things happened where I was like, all right, I'm going to be out here nowadays. So I had these two cars, and I consolidated both of them into one car.

34:43You know what I mean? I took the best parts from both cars, put them into one. boom transformers you feel me and then i had the car for like the car was getting built for like eight months had it for like 10 days tires were dry rotted i was just trying to like go through the gears you know what i mean uh break the engine in a girl driving her dad's rental just like didn't look left and just pulled out into the traffic in front of me i just t-bone on that base damn and then told and told my car bro it was like i had it for like literally like 10 days i think i only drove it like two other times so i drove like three times and i only had it for like eight days then prior to that we were on mason's sody trip and we started in germany fanner hit me up and he was like yo a dude that i know works for bmw like he possibly wants to like have a meeting with you i go and meet with them they're like oh yeah what do you want to do I was like, oh, I want to be a BMW ambassador.

35:45Like, I've been with BMW since the beginning. I fuck with the vibes. Let's go. Next thing I know, I go back home. I get my car fixed. And I fucking T-boned this car. And Curran happened to be driving behind me. And his Tesla filmed it. So any car person knows if you crash your car in this type of way, they're going to be like, oh, yeah. Like, you just fucking suck at driving. But there was, like, footage of the shit. of this girl cutting me off and my tires were dry rotted so i didn't grip i just slid into her boom t-bone her shit and then bmw hit me up and they're like this is a perfect time to rebuild your car and they rebuilt it for me wow which i would i which i would have probably took an l that was like i don't even know like probably 30 to 60 bands because i had paid money to get it done but then i would have had to pay money again because insurance i hadn't done the whole appraisal and all that stuff yet because i had just gotten the car back you know uh so bmw kind of saved me because i originally paid the money to because people be like yo bmw made you a car bro like bro and i was like bro i came out even i like fucking paid for to get that build and then a fucking girl fucking cut me off, fucking told my whole shit, and then they came and they made me whole.

37:11Shout out BMW. That's crazy. That's what's up. Let's go. Yeah, it would have been a big L. But I took another big L with the cars a couple years later.

37:21Davis Torgerson:What's the next big L? Fucking bum came and fucking lit two of my cars on fire. Oh, what the fuck? They were like LifeSuite gang, check this out with both of my shits on fire but in the driveway wait who did that a bum homeless person yeah oh my god just in your driveway yeah that's fucking brutal even when it happened i was like dude like my life is so blessed you know what i mean i have good people i have good friends i'm you know what i mean i'm able to skate i'm healthy i have a lot of fucking so much positive in my life so it's like all good it's just like a little hiccup where you're like holy shit but everything's all good so what are you driving these days well he lit my ribion on fire and the fire was so fucking explosively big it lit my 1987 bronco 2 on fire and then there was a whole chain of effects that happened from that so wasn't able to get a car for another six months it's because my license got suspended or da da da da da da whatever but now I got another review oh damn dude car guy losing your license that's gotta hurt just living in the real van Tim driving you how is Tim as a driver you just end up you just end up riding dirty I don't know I just was I had other cars I mean what the fuck LA is like Tim lives like probably like 40 minutes from me right now What are we going to do?

38:54Come and pick me up for groceries. I'm about to drive myself and just keep a good lookout.

39:08Sweden has landed in North America. Through the heroes of Baker, Andrew, Eric, and Jim, CHPO is now available across Canada and the U.S., both at your local skate shop and at us.chpobrand.com. So it's time for you to learn some Swedish. Fika, a coffee break, but also a social ritual with pastries and a good talk. It's basically a lifestyle, not just a break. If you add the work oi before you will have a beer break, oi fika. Skal means cheers. So if you have a oi fika, you say skal before your first sip. Kotbula, Swedish meatballs. Add some home-cooked potatoes gravy and lingam berry jam and you are as Swedish as Peter Forsberg Oski Viagra boys and IKEA combined Orca literally means to have the energy but used like uh, I can't be bothered for example Orca do a switch three down El Toro small Stunstrale literally wild strawberry place meaning a hidden favorite spot So if you ever come to Sweden, ask the local skaters to show you their smoltenstrahle and you are in for a treat.

40:26Jante, a cultural idea about not thinking you're better than others. Swedes are great at everything, but they don't rub it in your face like the Norwegians do, for example. Bragging ole pumpin' and seal killin' bastards. Slut means the end. Funny because it's true. These great Swedish words were brought to you by CHPO. chpo was brought to north america by baker the two of them are always doing it for the people chpo

40:58Davis Torgerson:all right let's switch back to skating for a sec here we love going behind the scenes on some of our favorite clips uh can you take us behind the scenes on your switch crook ender and be free how was that session pretty much what happened was i was riding up to it I was like, oh, I wanted to do a nollie half cab crook. But on that spot in Oakland, there's another side. It's like the other side where it's like you can go and it's like not like eight or nine stair drop or whatever. So I was like trying to get into it. And I was just like my pot was just all fucked up. I was like, bro, like what the fuck?

41:33I was like, all right, I'll just fucking switch crook this shit. So I went really slow and then just like jumped into a switch crook and then like kicked it out and then jumped onto the steps. and I went a little bit faster and then did the same thing. And then I was like, all right, I can get into it. And then I just like switch scripted. Like I can't remember it being hard. So I'm pretty sure it wasn't.

41:55Davis Torgerson:Tim said you did it before they were even set up. Yeah, sure. I don't remember. All right, what about... I landed and everybody was like, woo! I was like, woo!

42:08All right, what about your switch front blunt on Clipper? what's the story behind that one see i don't really remember that one as much either like i really don't i remember it being a little bit hard to ride away but i don't remember that being

42:23Davis Torgerson:super hard either damn you went straight from the little ledge line to clipper no sweat well the thing is about that like i said i'd be having tricks that necessarily i don't do all the time you know i mean you have to have the clips just to be able to be like oh yeah this fool can do this trick but it's like bro i got mad tricks that i just haven't done because i'm like either it's not big enough or whatever and then at this point in my life i'm like you gotta stop tracing the magic dragon you can do a trick good enough to do it on a 12 stair but you're not gonna feel to find the 12 stair with a good enough dimension to fucking do it so you might as well just do it on a fucking eight or a nine stair bro chill you know what i mean so that's a theory i mean that's what i think also i don't like skating rails that are like seven i like skating a rail that's like an eight or a nine stair more because it's like i don't have to i can choose where i want to get into the rail rather than being like oh i have to get in here you know what i mean i can be like all right well i can gap up and then still make it down to the bottom or i can like go out and gap down depending on where so specifically with that one i i don't you you gotta ask jason hernandez to release like the clips or the tries or something because there's only also the the way he he edited it where it was two clips together you know i mean i kind of didn't like that you don't see like a full yeah yeah yeah that always bothers me too oh you said you didn't like that hell no this shit bothered me as well challenge to jason though but i don't really remember that one being like uh super hard either when i was like pretty young i was kind of just doing stuff i've i like stuff kind of just worked even the front three lip i remember like my last trick i remember like i was scared to try it and then i like missed like the first try my board completely came out of my feet off my feet and i and then i just literally like sacked my uh my thigh yeah and then nothing happened to me and i was like oh shit and then i just was like trying it after that it was like mad easy to try i was like oh that's all that happened like once you get past that first one where you're like you always think the worst and then once you get past the worst you're like oh shit like that's what happened and then the fear is gone and then after that i could like you could take me anywhere and i can fucking park rail i could front three lip every fucking try fucking probably 10 out of 10 front three lip boom easy so once i got that out of my fucking head i was just like oh so one that i've always wondered and i've always yeah we need we need to get the uh rough cut for that chronicles part but speaking of the first try getting that out of the way there's certain tricks where i'm always curious what the first try look like the gap yeah you can first try and pussyfoot it yeah you know what i mean no the first real try real try where you actually like really try where you really put those nuts on the line yeah so tell us about the gap kickback lip ender in that part because that one still is just so ridiculous all these years later.

45:33I just remember us pulling up and then we went to a gas station before. I feel like I had to take a shit or something. And then I was like, dude, I got to take a shit. And then I got that beanie hat. That was the fucking wolf hat that I did the gap back over, correct? I got the Tame Impala hat or the Tame Impala song. So I feel like I did that. And then I was just like, fuck, I try to kick back lip this shit and that one was actually kind of weird because I wasn't turning out enough and there was like somewhere I would like turn out halfway and I would like ride up the wall and then fall off you know so I would like kick back lip land and then I wasn't turned out enough and I was so stuck on the board that I would like ride up the wall and then fall off the wall like

46:25Davis Torgerson:jeez like vertical on the wall or horizontal my body fall back onto the ground. It happened a few times, like two times, I feel like, and I was like, well, that's so weird. And then I guess Costin, whoever else was in the car, was like, we're about to leave. I just haven't landed. I don't know. They're about to leave when you're doing the gnarliest trip ever. What's up with Costin? Frost didn't have time for that shit. That motherfucker was heading home. Yeah, he was probably like, fuck this kid. The old age of him, for sure, dude. He's like, I'm fucking getting out of here, dude. This kid's not going to land this bullshit.

47:05He already did it back over. We'll give up in a second. And then I just ended up making it. He was probably like, oh, shit. That's crazy.

47:12Davis Torgerson:That's actually wild. Yeah, it wasn't like, there wasn't really any super crazy tries. The first try was chill? I don't remember not getting in or anything. I just remember being like, oh, I'm going to kick back with this. and I was just getting in and then not being able to come out. Yeah. That's a wild game, man. I back over cooked it first, and I didn't do back nose blunt because the rail was thin. I think Nijon did back nose blunt. Yeah, he did. That's your spot, though. Windsor James, gap nollie front board. Shout out. He did that before I did my trick, and I remember going there, and I was like, dude, like, so crazy, dude.

47:48Yeah. Shout out Windsor. Windsor's got crazy clips. Like that one clip in Denver, he did a nollie 180, switch 5-0 back to straight and it's time. Recently Malto did a backsmith on it.

48:01Davis Torgerson:No, no. Malto Nolly crook? No, Malto Nolly crooked it. Yeah. No, he didn't go back to straight. He just went straight Nolly 180 switch 5-0. That was buck wild. There's like been no other trick that's been like hold the torch to that one. No, no. Windsor's got fucking clips hammers standing the test of time for sure. For days, bro. Windsor was cracked. Ooh, the first crack. Take us behind the Nolly backside flip into the triangle in Miami. So at that same spot at the Intercontinental, I've been trying to frontside flip over the gate that Zion back-fucking-thread for like 12 fucking years. Dude, it's like the most annoying thing ever.

48:45Somebody do it so I can never think about it again because every time I go, I get three to five tries, and I don't go to Maya Henny that much. So it's like, I go there every fucking couple of years. I get to try it like three to five times. I stick it, we get kicked out and that's it. It's just like the most like on the fucking... Damn.

49:10Davis Torgerson:That would be fire. Bullshit ever. And it's like, there's probably harder tricks that I could do in theory. Like if I lived there, I would be able to skate it because I could put tries in. Be like, oh, maybe five tries. I'll go to fucking, I'll fucking warm the legs up seeing if I'm feeling kind of, see how I'm feeling and then go over there, get a quick five tries in, five to seven, maybe come back next week. You know what I mean? But it's like, it'll be like three years the next time I try. Like one time I didn't go for like six years to do some shit. I went there to go try that. We got kicked out and then I was like, oh, fuck, dude, I got to do something.

49:51maybe i'll just nollie backside flip into this shit jesus and nobody's like gone into it switch so i was like oh like i think niger did like a nollie half cap heel another niger call out um i think he did a nollie half cap heel but i was like nobody went like nobody turned backside into it i don't even remember anybody backside flipping into it

50:11Davis Torgerson:yo okay wait i i was gonna wait till the end to to say this bit but maybe it's fashion yeah we that was the first time we ever met was the day you did it and remember we went to the bar and we're playing darts and you were like oh yeah after it was me you and dick yeah and you're like i think i'm the first person to flip into it backside and even though you're one of my favorite skaters of all time my skate brain i couldn't let you have it i was like yo bastion backside flip in the last part yeah yeah but anyways take us tell us about your session completely different but um go backside turn yeah you know but uh pretty much i was just like i gotta figure out something to do that's like sick on this thing you know what i mean at the time like riley hawk did like 180 like crook on it and like a and and shit and i was like dude grinding the side is sick but like going into it is like dope i feel like maybe patrick already did a back nose boy and i was like dude can't do that it's like fuck all i could really do i'd be doing nollie back stuff so i might as well try that so i start bailing in a bunch and then eventually i put one down i like hang up and then once i same thing once i hung out hung up and i slammed i was like oh all right and then i just eventually did it probably like maybe like five ten minutes later like ten minutes ten minutes later that thing's terrifying because once you slam and you're not dead you're like all yeah you went straight bounce off your ass on that one bail i'm glad i got it on film a lot of the time when i slammed super fucking hard nobody's filming it and i'm just like i didn't even get a bail i didn't even get a slam click i got nothing but but not being able to skate for like a minute shit's ass yeah all right peter that spot sucks it's gone or it's like it's there but it's i think they put grass all up you know it's like there's turf up top so random question for you uh never seen i mean you ride for real spitfire deluxe man you know san francisco ties you're a great jumper but never seen in a shod clip at wallenberg i was wondering if you ever claimed anything ever tried to skate it uh any plans to skate it a little switch front heel for people one day maybe i was in this i was in the uh second wallenberg contest i was actually just talking about this it was my first time to california switch flip love gap and then he flew me out to california for the first time to try to switch flip Wallenberg.

52:41It was the same time that Kevin Romar tried to nollie back 360, snapped his board, and fucking Jake threw his board one way and then threw his other board the other way. The whole entire time that they were skating it, the whole entire time they were skating it, I was skating that with them. And when they even cut it down to, it was just like Chris Cole, Lindsay Robertson, like, it was like five people skating it i was one of the five people for some reason this fool did not kick me off like jake was like i like your name and then just like did not kick me off from skating it and i was trying switch flips so the day before i was trying to i was skating three stairs just trying to warm up and i broke my truck so the day of i was skating with new trucks and i could not fucking skate and i was literally catching switch hard flips and they literally thought i'm trying switch hard bro and it was like i was just tripping in my head because i was like dude they think i'm trying to reach hard i'm trying switch flip i'm getting the fuck out of this shit i'm like i'll keep catching them and then they cut it off and they're like oh yeah only like these people skate and then i was supposed to skate as well and there was just like it was just like me bailing fucking really bad switch flips wow terrible switch flips and then uh i tried to skate it like years later definitely more than 10 years later i tried to do like a front heel or something and then like damn i feel like i feel like i bruised my heel like immediately or something and i was like yeah and then i just haven't tried to skate it since bro front heel would be fucking fire on that i would i would like to skate it it's just like there's so much behind it so you gotta go up there the weekend the ramp the whole fucking shebang you know what i mean like jesus christ and then there's always some like crazy like thing that's happening like oh like the homie's trying to skate it and then like the other homie's trying to skate it that is trying the same trick or some shit there's like always something happening where it's like there's some like some political going on over there i was there actually recently when the homies were skating it but i fucking got bit up by a spider and i felt sick i felt like slow bro i got bit like i'm staying in this hotel i got bit up by a spider like fucking like five times bro and i felt mad weird i got bit by a spider once and i couldn't fucking walk for like a fucking week i was on crutches and they gave me that fucking hand it up jesus yeah it was like 2022 uh christmas and bit me like and i thought i like because sometimes i sleep well and i thought i kicked my bed or something three days goes by i'm like why the fuck is my foot hurt my foot just gets keeps continuing to get worse next thing i know i can't fucking walk at all i'm on crutches jesus i go to the fucking intensive the fucking whatever fucking care it is christmas eve or some shit there was like nobody around and i was just like i had to go three days in a row to get the that the anti venom, fucking bullshit.

55:54I got it the first day. I couldn't walk. I couldn't even touch my little toe on the ground. Shit was so fucking painful. Couldn't put any weight on my shit. First day, I could crunch around, and I could put a little bit of weight on my shit. Second day, I could, like, walk. I could lift, but walk. Third day, I was, like, agile as a bitch. That shit started kicking in. Bro, I think shit fits me. Yeah, bro. It was crazy. Didn't need my sleep. That's terrifying.

56:22Davis Torgerson:That is. Your switch hard flip catches had me dying. Just quick random aside because, Dono, you were part of it. You probably don't remember. I was trying to switch flip the seven stair over the sidewalk in Chinatown back in the day. Yeah. And Dono and our friend Tommy were fucking playing like they're play fighting in the landing. And I wanted to kill them because I was stressing trying to switch flip this thing. And I never forget it. I caught, like, I missed my flick and caught the most perfect switch hard flip ever. I probably could have landed it, but I was so confused. And, but it's frustrating.

56:57Davis Torgerson:Like, it's like, even if you land it, you'd be mad because you missed your switch. Yeah, you'd be like, that's not what I was trying. It's like the worst feeling in the world, but it works somehow. And Donald, I focused the hell out of my world. In front of everybody. I was in front of Watt. People were like, hell yeah. Yeah. Everyone's cheering for you. You got that. Oh, shit. That's great. Yeah. You know, life and times, man, life and times. You've done your thing in contests over the years. There was one time in Street League a while back on the last obstacle. You had one try to win the whole thing.

57:38You went for the back 360 kickflip over the gap when you probably could have gone for something a little easier and maybe won. Can you take us behind the scenes on that one and the decision making behind trying the back 360 kickflip? I would think that there was not so much decision-making happening at that point. When I was in Shreelig, I was in it for the love of the game, bro. I was like, fuck. I didn't have coaches there being like, all you need is a 6.2.

58:11Davis Torgerson:You didn't have Los Santos' coach there with you, man? You couldn't have the clipboard on me? Yeah, if I had the clipboard on me with the homie on the side, maybe I would have took the W. Maybe I would be in a different spot right now. Yeah, I'm just happy to leave you. I probably thought, because it's like, all it takes to win or lose is to fall once. So I probably thought I was down way more points. That I was just like, I just need to land a cracked shit. You know what I mean? So I was probably not even thinking about it. Because after people were like, dude, you could have fucking met that.

58:47all you needed was a fucking 4.6 exactly you didn't tell me that because it's like in the beginning street league they were just giving bread they were like oh yeah like come out if you skate we'll be fucking five bands or some shit yeah it was like gravy train back then dude yeah so I was like I'll go to these things what is there for a year or something make a quick like 20 bands and then there's the best tricks that give you 10 and then if you win there's there's other bonuses you know what i mean i was never really fully in it for the bread i was just like i was and i wasn't because i was like there's already they're already giving me bread you know what i mean that's good enough that's good enough for me for skating i was like all right i'll just do i'll just do what i do like let's let's see if i can win some shit you know i mean if i win i win if i don't i don't it's all good i'll like cook a little five bands you know what i mean like skate up, party with the homies after, and then send it back home.

59:51You know what I mean? Took through a little bit of it. Maybe I got like$4 ,500. You know what I mean? Three bands. That's good. I definitely didn't know how many points I needed to win.

1:00:05Davis Torgerson:I was one of the people at home yelling at the fucking TV. That was also in like naija's pure dominance where it's like everyone was rooting against him because it's like so anytime someone had a showdown with naija at the end and it's it's not like we hate naija but it was just like no you just want when someone wins all the time and especially a shod like known for more of a street skater you're like all right yo let's yo fakie flip just fakie flip it just switch big heel like you had switched big heels every try also i was like he didn't just try a back three kickman are you fucking kidding me yo this ball didn't want to win is there is there an epic second prize or is it just winner takes all i think it was like 40 or something i don't remember but um it's dope bro back in the day they used to have these fucking street league stickers like right on the big section landing you know what i mean people would always be like yo you're like way bigger than i like thought you were in person you know what i mean they would always people who think i was like way smaller i like ever since i remember i'm 6 '1 175 on my latest i'm probably like 185 190 right now you know what i mean a little bit heavier right now you feel me but like i at that time i was i was a little bit heavier the people that i was skating against i feel like they were like one 165 140 130 i land on that motherfucking sticker bro that shit was sliding out bro every time I would go there I would be like move this fucking sticker they stopped they started painting it on there that's better I was like put that fucking sticker bro those were the good old days of street week big ass rail coming off that shit laying it on a sticker I'm like gonna make me hot but whatever at the time you know what I mean like it is what it is motherfuckers trying back three kick flips when they only need to do a fake flip crazy I didn't have motherfuckers in my corner You needed that.

1:02:09Davis Torgerson:Yeah, bro. Anyways, it's all good. Another epic contest moment you had was the Tampa Pro Puke. What's the backstory to that one? I think you came in and did a fucking kick front blunt on the big quarter going crazy, but all of a sudden you're just puking all over the place. What's the story there? I don't know what it is. like after you really just go your whole shit like sometimes you get hella nauseous like you need to throw up so it's like i felt like i needed to throw up but i also needed that and by needed that i like wanted to to do another trick so i was like i felt like i needed to throw up but i was like fuck it and then tried the trick and i was like oh yeah here it comes and i fucking threw up sometimes you feel like you gotta throw up and it don't actually happen but that time i was like it's coming let's fucking see we're seeing fucking let's try to get this trick and then i fucking ended up actually throwing up i was like oh shit oh yeah i just scurried off to the back and everybody

1:03:20i thought you were gonna talk about the wave off one of the times i was skating tampa and i was in my line and like one of the obstacles came up too quick and I just waved that shit off. I like literally was like I bent down like I was going to do the trick.

1:03:41Yeah, I just kept pushing. I like I literally was like about to do this shit and then I just waved that shit off and then just went to the next. Went up the quarter pipe. It was like, sorry, went to the next trick. I was like, I was like, that shit came up too quick. Fuck.

1:03:55Davis Torgerson:bro with your tampa lines or just contests in general when you're doing lines i feel like a lot of them aren't premeditated like you know you got your guys who are fully locked in they know exactly what they're gonna do you're fucking out here freestyling is that is that true or do you have a general idea of what what you're gonna do so it's a yes and a no so what i do i just skate the park and then i skate the park how i skate the park so i do kind of have a line because i know how I skate the park so I'll just be like all right well I'm just kind of doing this so I I'll be doing that over there I'll do that over there and then it's over here and that's like eight tricks and maybe I can squeeze one in if I make it to the final American sweet little nine trick ten trick it you know what I mean but you know before we move off of contests uh we get a quick prediction for your team the tropics and PSL uh how do you guys think you're going to do heading into the playoffs, man.

1:04:50I wanted to participate in the last one, but after we got fucking our ass handed to us so bad, I was like, God damn. I'm kind of glad I was sitting out of this massacre.

1:05:01Davis Torgerson:Yeah. You got to skate in the finals. Did you watch? Every week, man. Yeah, we loved that shit. That shit was, I was like, holy shit. That was three beatdowns. That was a spanking. They were on fucking point that game. Yeah. Mickey was not playing Art was not playing Dude Art was not playing He cut his hair and he's like Yo fuck this shit man I'm done with this shit There was tricks that they were doing That I was like good at And I was like I couldn't skate I was in San Francisco Not saying that I would have made or not made But there was things like If I was skating Which I couldn't skate I was in San Francisco And I was skating street And I was so fucking sore I could not skate Yeah And that's like four That's like four days ago now so I was like because some of the homies were like I don't know if I got this trick I'd be like oh yeah I can do this trick you know who's to say I would have landed it or not but there was like a lot of tricks they were doing where I was like oh yeah I fucking actually fucked this trick but bro they were doing shit fucking Carlos yeah so you got a big matchup in the semifinals man you got P-Rod squad SHS what do you think is gonna happen?

1:06:15Bro what What kind of question is that, bro? We're going to win. I'm just making sure we're in the right. You're going to be there? Yeah, I'm going to be there, bro. We've got manifestation right here, bro. All right. You know what I mean? I'm supposed to say we're going to lose? No, I'm just making sure we're in the right space here, man. P-Rod's my dog. A lot of the motherfuckers on that team, I actually don't know who on that team is. I don't not fuck with anybody on that team. I actually fuck with everybody in the league. I fuck with the league. but we finna we finna talk our shit

1:06:49Davis Torgerson:bro you're a co-captain you know what I'm saying a goat we need you we need you to skate on the 28th we're gonna be there can't wait yeah I'm gonna be I'm gonna be locked in in that one we got a good we got a good strategy we we got good defense you know what I mean defense we got it it's crazy because people didn't really know how good he was I'm bro I didn't even know who he was let alone how good he was. Now he's a household name. See, that's crazy because you got this whole podcast and all that. I'm just being honest, dude. That's Donald. That doesn't reflect on me. I got nothing but respect, bro.

1:07:31He had his little... He was skating. You know how people be filming their little parts on Thrasher nowadays? He was skating the street. They was skating the street, bro. They was skating the street, but it's like an Instagram edit, but they were doing hard shit.

1:07:46Davis Torgerson:Yeah, he's had a couple hard posts on Insta. What is this world, man? Yeah, he had one of those on Thrasher. He was going crazy. His full part, his Thrasher part was gnarly as fuck. But now he's a household name, dude. So, fuck. I'm excited to come see. We didn't realize how good he was, but I'm glad people are opening their eyes to his talent because he is extremely, extremely talented, as everyone can see. Was that your first pick? Was that the tropics first pick? So shot was technically his first pick and then him. Yes. So I was like, not really able to be in the draft cause I had another meeting and then like, it was a little unclear that everybody was drafting at the same time.

1:08:31And I don't do this whole, I don't do a football draft. I don't do that whole shit. So I didn't know that everybody was doing the whole fucking thing at the same time. So I'm like, bro, like I got this meeting that I told you I had, like a week and a half two weeks ago i can't do the draft bro so i was like half in the draft so i gave my little two cents when i put it when i could because i was kind of occupied with some other shit but yeah i think we did a great job trevor comeback season yeah another chronicles

1:09:06Davis Torgerson:brother um bro we're friends and shit i knew i i had a feeling we were gonna have a great conversation today on the pod but I'm not going to lie when I saw your PSL interview I was like damn I hope we can get more than three words out of a shot that was the funniest shit ever that was cool Kevin Durant, Charles Barkley but that was funny though I thought it was funny because it immediately made me think of KD but other people were probably like what the fuck's going on Chris Blake, shout out to Chris Blake He was like, oh, yeah, before we got questions for you, we're going to ask you about your hometown park or wherever.

1:09:47I was like, yeah, whatever. And then he was like, since the park you grew up with, it's a double set the same as your park growing up. And I was just like, nah. And then he was just like, what do you mean? I was just like, it's not. The dimensions are different because I'm mad literal. I'm a literal ass person so I'm like nah like the ground's like stickier like my part growing up that shit was mad slippery bro but he didn't ask me why I thought he was maybe gonna ask me why but he was just like I think I caught him off guard and then he was just like oh like oh and I was just like oh he got weirded out I weirded homie out and then he was like you threw me in the bus I thought you had beef with him

1:10:41Davis Torgerson:I thought you hated him or something I'm like why are you embarrassing No that's the bro That's why he didn't come back last week That's why it was Shane He's done after that dude Yeah you got him fired He got fired bro Nah that's the bro for real He's jobless now dude No I swear I swear, wait, who's doing that? Shane Heil, man. Shake Junt now, man. They're like, Chris, that's the final straw, homie. It's over. Yeah, dude. Fuck. If you're seeing this, I don't think it was just a me. But if it was. I just made that shit up. But fuck. He was back the next week. He was back. You were acting all weird that night.

1:11:30Davis Torgerson:You were there sweating your ass off in the interview right before your match as if you were warming up to skate. Then you didn't talk and then you just fakey front crook the ledge and never skated the doubles. Bro, bro, bro. But this is what happened. I was warming up a little bit. Like that day, OD, I couldn't really skate that day. I don't know what it was, but I was like, bro, like shit's not hitting. The day that I actually skated, like the following week, like I was spanking shit. I was like, oh yeah, I can skate a little bit. that day i like missed like out of 10 kickflips out of the shit i probably missed like six down yeah i was like this is fucked bro it's a kickflip these things are out here laser flipping this shit every go i can't even kickflip this shit i'm having a bad day right yeah so and then before the the shit actually started uh i tried to i tried like a backside flip my board and popped up it hit me in the knee and then like my team was like oh yeah we're picking this team and i was kind of like which to me i was kind of like they they see me not skating good they're like bro like you might have to be on the bench and i was like that's i was like that is perfectly okay because you know what i mean sometimes people got their days sometimes too you know i mean i was like this is not one of my days so before i was to sub in because i was possibly gonna have to sub in we just won by four.

1:12:59So I was like, thank the Lord. I don't know what I would fucking do. I don't think about it. I don't know if I would help anything. I'm feeling a little rusty right now.

1:13:10Davis Torgerson:That was gold. That was great. Even the front crook, the fakie front crook took me dumb long to land. I went back the next week and I didn't land it because I was skating the stairs more, but I went up and I tried to fakie front crook and I almost did it like second try and i was like that was like so easy to balance like my balance was just like way different it's great so you're pretty active on instagram approaching a million followers yeah does it does that ever i mean i feel like i was active i feel like i was active a lot like maybe like two three years ago i was active and i would post every day and i post all the shit i was doing all the time but like yeah lately i feel like i have not been active full disclaimer as much that was one of my questions from 2020 so the instagram activity has gone down since then yeah it has yeah um do you want to do you want to finish the question though yeah so does it ever trip you out that you're close to a million followers and have you adjusted your life at all now that it's just so in the public eye?

1:14:21I was closer to a million followers like that two years ago because I was posting so much that now my shit kind of dropped down. But honestly, and I'm going to be honest, that shit's mad annoying. People are fucking weird. I got, especially with everything that's going around in the world, like people hitting me up about stupid shit. I'm like, dude, you don't even fucking know me. Get the fuck off my shit. For real. Like, you don't even know. You don't know shit, bro. You really don't know shit. First of all, second of all, you know, people go through phases in life. You know what I mean? I was like chronically online and it was like cool.

1:14:56You know what I mean? Oh, yeah. Fucking my little story. You realize it doesn't fucking matter, dude. Realistically, get in them streets. For real. Because even if, like, let's just say, like, for instance, Gus Gordon.

1:15:14Davis Torgerson:No Instagram. What do you have to say about him? Beast I mean He holds it down in the streets He gets the job done He gets the fucking job done When the footy comes out Highlight reel gang Boom You ain't gotta talk to me about no story Get the fuck out of my face About like what I ate for fucking dinner and shit You know Also all the people just pocket watch And just be watching you too close I'm like bro I don't even want to like post what I got going on it's like too fucking I don't know maybe uh maybe I'll get into a posting phase again I was in that shit for like ever since Instagram started and then that shit just started getting mad watered down so I was just like all right thinking about being close to a million followers now is just like cooked because like when you had like 100k like 10 years ago that was like having a million yeah yeah like low-key in the grand scheme of things i always had a million followers but i didn't have a million followers you know what i mean yeah like you had 100k at the time because the popular page the explore page the popular page is different like everything was different now there's this algorithmic bullshit you have to follow to do all this fucking shit it's like oh shadow ban book all this fucking shit i'm just like dude but that's what you got to do to like stay on top of it but it's like i don't know maybe i'll start posting again maybe this is the thing that's got me like posting again maybe like you'll start seeing like what fucking shoes i wear from day to day and like what i like eat for breakfast and shit because people have such a fucking crazy need to know about that shit by the way it's a and today i was wearing fucking flip-flops because i like to keep my feet dry That's why my shoes have fucking ventilation in them Always Cause my feet be sweating Yeah the Bebel Park days Were a great time for Your insta Seeing the ledge tricks Emerge New shit It was a great time in general The creepy thing is Is that shit wasn't new I had a couple of shits that was new But like I did an Ali Raheel front crook That was new half cap flip switch nollie half cap flip switch crook nollie backside flip switch front crook all that other random shit really wasn't new nollie half cap heel tail side faking flip that was new but that was kind of like two tricks together Carlos that was a good time the Nike part now is just out of the way before that shit was so close COVID times I could be home in like five minutes now I gotta like wait like a cool like 30 which is like oh yeah first world problems you gotta like drive fucking more than 10 minutes to go to your like private indoor park you know what I mean so I sound like a fucking dickhead but it's like you know what I mean but it's my fucking life you know what I mean it's like that's the shit that I live so it's like oh good I get it I get that it's like sounds crazy me saying but also it's like when you already had that one you're like that shit It was nice.

1:18:35It was, I actually liked that part better though.

1:18:37Davis Torgerson:A couple of years back, Nike finally did the right thing and blessed you with a signature shoe. How did that come about behind the scenes? Blessings, blessings. It was talked about prior to that for like, like years, like even to design a shoe, it takes two years to design the shoe. And then prior to that, they talk about giving you the shoes. So I probably found out three to three and a half years prior that I was going to get a shoe. And you're like, we're thinking about giving you a shoe. And then it's going to take the time to design the shoe. Like, it's pretty before. You know what I mean?

1:19:17Even the things like the now with designing shoes, like colorways and this, that, and the third. It's like you see trends and you try to land on the trend. But the trick, you know what I mean? You put all the specs in now. like let's just say right now we're talking and we talk about like oh yeah we got that herman board with the with the yellow and the purple i want to make a colorway based off of that you're not gonna see that until late 2028 buddy yeah just off on just off a colorway did

1:19:50Davis Torgerson:you did you ask for a shoe or did they approach you when i got the eyewear dunk three years prior to that i was like skating the janowski and i was like the junk is cool the dunk is cool but it's fucked up it's like doesn't grip enough and it's too puffy for me for what i like so i was like we got to redesign it i'll go into meetings and every year i'll go to the meeting i'd be like we got to redesign the dunk we got to redesign the dunk we got to redesign the dunk and then i got scared of the year and coincidentally before that they had already been like oh yeah we're kind of just like fell in the line but uh yeah i was i was saying that for years before and then we redesigned the dunk we designed the soul different where it has that foam in the bottom and the tread is sharper the smaller tongue they've adopted it the style that i had for the dunk for most dunks depending on if they're doing the original style or the but most dunks the sole at least is the same one so did that and then i was like oh we want to give you another shoe that's selling good oh yeah like let's do a blazer i've been skating a blazer let's do blazer mid let's get blazer mid like oh yeah like pro shoe and then i got all these people in my ear always like you should have both your fucking w60s ago the fuck does that matter We're talking about present.

1:21:25We're talking about the real time. What's going on? You know what I mean? So it's like...

1:21:30Davis Torgerson:Better late than never. It's a blessing. It's fun to do. The team is awesome to work with. And everybody, all the feedback that I see, I'm trying to incorporate it in. Apparently, I have fucking needle dick feet or some shit because people are always like... Your first shoe? Your first shoe was fucking crazy. People are always like, they're so thin. They're so pointy. They hurt my feet. Apparently, my feet are super thin. His first shoe, I was wearing a pair because I always skate blazers, but I'm like, all right, I need to find a shoe I can jump in. I'm like, let me try Rashad's first shoe. I just put them on and went to the movie theaters.

1:22:17Davis Torgerson:I was in LA. I just went to the movie theaters with Clark and Karina. I'm literally sitting in a theater with no weight on my feet and it was like cutting off the circulation, I watched the movie Barefoot. I was like, this is actually insane. They couldn't walk out of the theater. Yo, it was fun. I honestly take my shoes off anytime I'm sitting anywhere. Maybe they're just me too. Maybe that was the thought process. The switch trades are going. Maybe that's why yours aren't that good. Yeah. Again? No, I'm joking. Twice in like an hour and a half. He's like, no, you're coming for my seat. He's like, we got a switch tray off.

1:23:03No, no, you got wet switch trays, bro. I'm fucking with you. You already know that. I see it.

1:23:10Davis Torgerson:Bro, I don't have a switch tray for the bunt video. That's a big problem right now. I got to get my shit better. All right. Speaking of Philly, tell us about the trip that involved a smoke alarm Partying until 6am every night And stacking clips man Cheating buttons and people were staying in my living room And there was a smoke alarm At my house And my ceilings were like 22 feet high or some shit And I didn't have a ladder to get that shit And also that shit is out of sight Out of mind for me You know what I mean There's like memes about it like black folks Be like not paying attention to the smoke alarm Like that shit is real as fuck I didn't even hear that shit I didn't even hear it second guess at nothing before they were like smoke alarm driving us crazy I was like smoke alarm what are you guys talking about I'm 100 % serious and every night they were like we were stacking stuff up trying to re-kid because it was like mad high up they were like we were trying to do some elaborate thing and like I guess I was up super late every night because like pretty much up until covid my life was like pretty different i turned pro and then i'm traveling the world a traveling skater and i'm young you know what i mean sweat a lot so my metabolism's going i'm sweating everything out i can fucking drink till four six in the morning every night wake up early and go skate all fucking day and do it again for like months bro the shit was crazy so like that shit was like not even anything you know what i mean And then like, you know, shit happens.

1:24:48You're like, dude, is this what, you know what I mean? You slow down and you start to realize what's going on. It's not like everything's at super speed. You know what I mean? Fucking travel in the world. You're here two weeks with the team and then you're home for a week. And then you go off again for another two weeks. And then you're home for like three days. Then you leave. You know what I mean? It's like, it was like a constant party for like 11 years. Then COVID hit. And I was like, oh, whoa. holy shit I didn't stop going for like dumb long you know what I mean it was like I traveled out to California to Sacramento to skate with Matt Mullen I was only supposed to be in California for three weeks stayed with him for like almost a month and then I went to SF I was supposed to leave after like a week and then they're like oh yeah you're gonna be in the video since day one and the next thing I know I'm out there for three months I'm on the scene video comes out I'm pro I get scared of the year traveling around the world next thing I know bro COVID oh shit 11 years that's crazy

1:25:58Davis Torgerson:finally slowed down yes and no because COVID was a period where you know what I mean everybody slowed down so it was just a big reflecting period from everything like I said after 2013, 2014 shit ramped up. So it's like anytime you're free and you're not hurt, there's trips to go on. For sure. Clips. For sure. One more fun fact about the smoke alarm is Tim said he went back to Philly like three months later and the smoke alarm was still on. Well, yeah. Like I said, it wasn't like a me thing. It was like a them thing. You know what I mean? Because there was other slow alarms in the house there was other slow alarms in the house that were still functioning properly that weren't 22 feet up right so it's like oh well i didn't have a ladder at the time what i'm gonna do i had it i'm driving the e30 i'm gonna strap that i'm gonna strap a fucking big ass ladder to the top of my shit to my e30 bring that shit in just to fucking put some batteries in that shit i left that shit alone i was like the other ones will do the job we got another one in the kitchen right there that aren't fucking 22 feet away.

1:27:12They're good.

1:27:13Davis Torgerson:Leave that one. Also, it's like, don't stay here too long. Stay for a couple days. As long as that fire alarm will get you out of here. I have a theory that the best skaters have the gnarliest skate tempers because the more you're able to do the more an off day will drive you crazy um as arguably you know the goat or a goat in skateboarding my theory would say that you also have some of the most goaded meltdowns ever uh we've heard about a couple but is there a crazy meltdown story that you have because if not we have two examples to ask you about i don't know one time i had like because i'll have a lot of boards in my trunk sometimes and i didn't have a lot after this for a really long time so i had like probably like six boards or something had a transition board i had like two of the board that i normally skate i had like a zip zinger i had just like a bunch of random stuff and then i like focused everything i think i beat my car with one of the boards and then through and then roofed my fucking shoes and then like and then drove off and then like probably seeing the homies later and I was completely normal.

1:28:35I think you have a test.

1:28:38Davis Torgerson:Okay, so I'm guessing that was the Nollie frontside flip at Gilbert Lindsay Park. It wasn't working? Oh, yeah, yeah. I feel like this was with Jolly or some shit. I don't remember what happened there, but clearly it was something to talk about. Yeah. One other one that sounded funny was Tim said Copenhagen one year. You're trying a ledge trick for a while and there's some pastries that you loved. You had a box of pastries. You had a bike. You're trying to skate. What happened there? I was trying at Copenhagen. There's like benches that come down on the side. You see them every time people are in Copenhagen.

1:29:23I was trying a back tail of a switch front crook and I like almost did it a bunch of times, but there's like mad cracks on the ground and stuff. Like it looks like it's an absolutely perfect spot. but it's like, it's not as perfect as it looks. You needed those Spitfire 93s. It is a really good spot though. You know what I mean? Don't get it twisted. But it was just like one of those things where shit just wasn't working for me. You know what I mean? And then I started trying back tail, back 360 kickflip, and it was the same thing. I was like literally like this close to doing it the whole time.

1:29:55Maybe not the whole time, but a good amount of the time, it was like I was so close to doing it. and then I just fucking freaked the fuck out. I fucking ended up spiking my bike, which sounds kind of crazy, but yeah, I spiked the bike, spiked all my pastries, and then I was like, nah, but I spiked all my pastries, and then I was like, fucking, I'm a fucking dumbass, man. And then I just fucking biked off somewhere, and people were like, dude's a fucking psychopath, dude. Because if I was to see that, I'd be like, that dude's fucking nuts

1:30:35but it's like bro it's passion bro i love this shit so it's like yeah this shit's gonna get me

1:30:40Davis Torgerson:mad yeah well the good thing with skate tempers is like like carrie gets told us when he came on the pod like as soon as he's done skating it's just boop it's back to normal yeah that's what i'm saying you see the homies later and you're like yo what's up and they're like all shook by either like whoa don't hit me dude i'm just like no bro it's like because it's it's really all internal it's internal yeah and it's like also like with skating it's like you kind of get it out you're frustrated in certain situations and instead of there like it's like a release to a point yeah so so the theory strikes again another case of the better the skater the more insane the freak outs spiking the bike and pastries is epic i haven't been so prone to freaking out recently and i'm like bro like did i like did i lose my grit you know what i mean you want to snap a little bit feels good i'm not like i'm like fucking psycho anymore like what the fuck like you know what i mean like i don't know so i there's pros and cons we'll see filming apart so we'll tap back in you You know what I mean?

1:31:52Nine years later, we'll hop back on the podcast. And we'll, like, break this down to see if it. Make sure you're still crazy. Love it. When I see people freak out, though, it's, like, literally, like, so funny. Also, because it's, like, I've been there. And I'm just, like, dude, like, this is so crazy. You kind of cheer them on. You're, like, yeah, get crazy, bro. Go fucking nuts. I'm, like, bro, you got to. Bro, it's, like, they're banging their board or something. It's, like, no, you got to hit it like this, bro. You got to. Like, yo, hit your car, dude. Go hit your car. Bro, roof it. Bro, roof it.

1:32:23Get it away from me, bro. It'll stop the episode, dude. Roof the thing that you're throwing around.

1:32:29Davis Torgerson:I thought Curran was the only one who beat his car. You know, Louis Curran, Mark Johnson. You know what I mean? It happens. Oh, shit. So, you know, what's a day in the life like looking for you these days in 2026, man? An average day. Depends on the day of the week, you know. Pick my daughter up. Do that. Hang out with her. She's really young. So it's like really, she's in a very tender age. That's very beautiful. And then during the day skating, a day that I'm skating, it's kind of random. I feel like people in LA like travel around so much that it's like there's not a fucking solidified crew.

1:33:15and I also live kind of far away from everybody that I innately skate with. I don't know. It's kind of random, honestly. It's not good. I'd say that. Figure out how to be as productive as possible because it was easy when I was younger, hang out with the bros, drink until whatever time, drink, smoke until whatever time and then like there'd probably be some homies sleeping around oh yeah should we go skate that's all we got to do you know what i mean it's like it's easy to have the people around that you were like skating and now it's like i'm in my mid-30s you know what i mean that was my girl it's not

1:34:03just the way it was you know what i mean it was like when i was younger it was like really skaty when i lived in philly i lived like three blocks away from like downtown or three blocks away from like municipal you know what i mean like it was like every other time i lived with people that skated so it was just like boom i'm just i'm in it already you know what i mean now it's like i gotta like you know i mean i got some family life going on and then i got this so it's like oh i'm tapping in and i'm tapping out so it's like i gotta like figure out my uh I figure out how to navigate it. It's fucking weird.

1:34:39Davis Torgerson:Life, baby. It's different. Yeah, but fatherhood's obviously a huge change, too. And congrats on that. Yeah. Thanks, bro. You mentioned working on a part, but in life in general, what's next for a shot where, man? Yeah, the video part. And then just like, like I said, just trying to figure out how to be as productive as possible and just locking in. Yeah, it's harder. Like back in the day. We would skate at nighttime. People would be in the van. They'd be skating together. It would be like a thing. I feel like shit is like, especially with everything being so solo. Oh, yeah, Instagram. I'm filming for this Instagram edit.

1:35:18Oh, yeah, I'm filming for the solo part. All this. It's like not as united as shit used to be. Fucking carpool more. Maybe it's not like everybody. Maybe it's just like the people that I hang out with or something. But, yeah, I feel like growing up, we really used to be locked in. now it's not as locked in you go in a skate session there's like fucking like seven fucking cars it's like infuriating you know what i mean you go to la and it's like everybody you know what i mean everybody's older you know what i mean everybody's like going living fucking 20 30 minutes from each other you know what i mean they got their shit going on their lives and it's like it's not just like we're in one van we're together you know what i mean it's like you're rolling deep and it's like there's fucking six three plus cars you know what I mean yeah

1:36:08Davis Torgerson:I mean I feel like you're describing it's the same thing though it happens with old age it's the same thing I always have nostalgia for that too everything you just described is the exact same thing in our crew we used to just be together all the time every weekend, day and night and you get older, you party together too that's a whole nother layer and then you get older and then you start to have partners and move in with your partners and then it's game over from there you gotta have like a different type of strap so i'm trying to figure out my strap from from the outside looking in killing it so just keep doing your thing brother yo yo yo it's rapid fire with the ghost and this week we're honored to be brought to you by Real Skateboards.

1:36:57Davis Torgerson:The newest drop is hitting shops now, and it's got new boards from the man himself, Ashad Ware. He's got his twin tail shapes out now, built so both ends of the board are perfectly symmetrical. No matter how you land, you're ready to go. It's the kind of detail that makes perfect sense coming from Ashad, a skater whose whole approach is built on precision. There's a reason Ashad's always the answer to most talented skater on planet earth get to your local shop to check out the newest shot peace ltd foil boards and the rest of the spring two drop from real and don't forget to tell them the bunt sent shit

1:37:40Davis Torgerson:all right the shades came off for a little rapid fire just about to get real blood all right Favorite skater I'll just go off like some just off the top of my head Right now Simon Benrod Is super sick Cream Calendar Very fun to skate with organic skater Bobby D Kaiser's footage is pretty fucking Interstellar Hell yeah John Muir Brown Okay okay alright Favorite video Let's just say yeah right cause that was like my first Epic My first love Favorite video part Maybe one of Bobby Worst's parts The home turf When he's skating all Pulaski So good Don's his cricket conicals part Is just like mad like It's mad like it's fun If you watch that part it looks like he's just having The most fucking fun ever Favorite style Oh another one of my favorite skaters Don Vinderlinden Favorite style We're never going to get through this.

1:38:50David's going to start pushing it along here. Brian Herman? Ooh. Good one. Brian Herman is swag. Great one. I'm also a favorite skater, Antoine Dixon. See, this is why I be missing stuff, and it makes me feel bad in the past. And I'm like, bro, what the fuck was I talking about? But yeah. Baker 3. Shout out. Baker 3.

1:39:13Davis Torgerson:Which skater had the biggest influence on the way you skate? i don't know i don't think i ever really tried to be like anybody specific but i remember seeing yeah right and being like bro like how is p rod like a kid but he's so fucking good like how how doesn't make sense you know what i mean so like p rod like when i was young i was like dude p rod is the goat yeah um most talented skateboarder on planet earth I mean I'm going to assume The most talented skateboarder on planet earth Is like In some fucking town somewhere Don is one of them What's that What's the dude's name that skates for element 2 Oh Jocko Yeah Jocko yeah Okay Yo this is rapid fire Let's pick up the pace of shot let's go Yeah we're going to try to do that But like he could even get one question out before you try to rush me let's slow down you know what I mean I know what you mean favorite trick nollie flip switch flip when you're feeling good just a nice little hardest trick for you and nollie crook love it hardest trick for you you fucking guy hardest trick for me nollie late flip like front foot foot yeah no like nollie front foot flip uh most illegal trick like doing a front feeble or something and then like hanging your foot off you know how so many front feebles and then they like just like take their foot off to just be like i'm raw but it's like you can also do that like riding by a ledge and doing like a beast-ass nollie flip curve but instead you just like do a front feeble and take your foot out like like you don't mean one foot like you mean like how little kids do it or it's like no it's like you get into a front view when you take your foot off like you literally like dragging it oh completely yeah you like lift your foot up you're like it's like it's like dragging it bro it's you better you you're you're better off just doing like just a really good front people.

1:41:29Another thing that I've said in interviews before is like a feeble to 50, you know, 50, like stuff like that. And like people have done it in real life and people be like, you don't like that trick. And I'm like, dude, it's not that deep. I don't give a fuck. Make yourself like, look like a fucking idiot at the skate park because you're doing your nasty little tricks. Like I don't care that much, but, and this is another thing. A lot of people don't get this most of the people that are the tms for brands grew up in the age where all that shit is fucking lame so what are you gonna do like you're gonna you're gonna try to like realistically you gotta impress the dude that's like possibly gonna put you on the team you're gonna try to impress like ultimate og with the fucking with the feeble to 50 to fakie gang bro you just ruined your chances straight like once he saw that he was like all right

1:42:25Davis Torgerson:this dude can kick rocks um okay what's the favorite clip think about it bro favorite clip it's like how are you gonna come and be like how are you gonna how are you gonna pull up with the sponsor me and be like fucking worse than this nigga was 30 years ago that's happening a lot bro watch his part watch his part and do better man bro the ultimate one for that these days davis that fool probably be getting so many people trying to get on a6 now and it's a yo don't don't come to me with a feeble 50 man you better be nollie hurricaning bro he is bro he's a tough cookie too because he you know davis he'd be like get the fuck out of here with that shit bro he's too nice to my shit bro yeah he's gone soft david is he could just be like talk to me when you do when you can switch back some at the ledge yeah favorite clip you've ever gotten i did a no comply blunt front one oh yeah and that was just that trick was just so random that's probably like that's one of my favorite clips but i just was like oh yeah that was cool it was like kind of random trick that i did and like growing up we didn't have bank spots around so I'm like kind of bad at skating banks but like when I say I'm bad at skating banks people will be like well you did this and that and it's like well yeah like I'm professional I'm still me I just struggle I can skate I'm still myself there's a good portion of time where it's like I'm not showing up to the fucking bank spot like going to skate You know what I mean?

1:44:10Like those euros, like those people that be living in Barcelona, they are good at banks, bro. That like,

1:44:17Davis Torgerson:you know, Gustav showing, showing us all. One of the best. How it's done. Yeah. You know what I mean? Showing us all how it's done. Oh, also, um, nollie half cap flip crick on the curve ledge. That's one of my favorite clips you've ever done. I actually had that for one of the behind the scenes questions, but that was fucking seven years ago. what's what's the worst trend you've been a part of i don't know you guys could probably tell me fucking better than so i don't know i literally don't know what's the gnarliest trick you've ever witnessed oh uh middler back through the car wash oh insane yeah i filmed it on the vx i got to capture that shit lost angle oh damn um what's the one trick that got away the fucking frontside flipping in Miami.

1:45:07Some JIT do it for me so I can like rest easy.

1:45:11Davis Torgerson:Real shit. What's the biggest bunt you've ever witnessed? I don't know. The homie Julian was trying to front the biggest love gap. He got like all mad that like I tried it once and then like you didn't land it. Poor Julian, bro. The homie Julian. Julian Heller. Bro, you should watch his part though. He's raw. Do you have the most tricks on love? Switch flip, front shove, switch front big. Anyone else got a three piece on that? He'll flip too. Oh, Chris Cole's got a three piece on that. Yeah, back three switch front side flip. Backside flip. Backside flip.

1:45:55Davis Torgerson:What's the last new trick you learned? Back when you know you're going to switch heel. Sick. Dream job after skating. Atiba's got a pretty chill job Yo true Just shoots the putties And throws the camera out Cover his slam Dude Atiba is sick That's a great dream job after skating Atiba You still get to be around all the gang But like you're just doing your shit Yeah Favorite local brand uh two risers favorite local skater i mean he's not even fucking local anymore fucking wolf jers brian o'dwyer that's my dog sick what's the one sponsor you regret riding for i don't know all my sponsors are pretty dope yeah you kind of kept the same ones the whole time um favorite teammate ever gt is a great teammate like he keeps it fired legend that's the bro worst teammate ever said this in an interview before daryl angel oh oh shit don't hear that name too often anymore crazy thing is is that like he when i was a kid i was like he was one of my favorite skateboarders because i just i just thought he like looked so good on the board like i was he like was so smooth and one of the first videos that i saw in the first few years that I was seeing videos, I saw film bot files.

1:47:31You know? And he was in film bot files, and I was like, oh yeah, this kid's kind of younger, you know what I mean? Good, good style. You know what I mean? And I was just always like, oh, this dude looks sick on the board. And I was so stoked to go on Nike trips with him when I started getting on Nike. And this fool just was such a dick to me, dude. I was like, holy shit. It's too sad. Damn.

1:47:55Davis Torgerson:yeah that's harsh yeah hectic uh worst company phantom 2 what was that some phantoms yeah i don't even know what that was but what was that truck company okay worst trend cancel culture was the worst trend that shit was so fucking booty that was so ass people got cooked yeah anyone anyone that got like wrongfully attacked that's like one of the worst things that could happen to a person but then the ones who do rightfully get canceled that's fine but it's yeah it was like our whole country was like based after freedom of speech but then like when you start chatting everybody's like you're a piece of shit your your job is now yeah it's fucking crazy man.

1:48:50Davis Torgerson:Worst style. Worst style. Like, I don't want to say this, but like, because I fuck with the skating palm back now. But like. That's my teammate. That's my man's. Bro. He got tricks, bro. Nollie flip lipping handrails and shit. Oh, yeah. That was one of my tricks when I was a little bit older. I started doing those for a second. Last but not least. give us the last person you want on the sesh. My, my, my bro, my good homie, Aunt Travis. Oh, shit. Bro, that fool doesn't even want to be on the session himself.

1:49:37Davis Torgerson:Oh, shit. That's your day one, no? Yeah, of course. Yeah. Ask around. He's over it, eh? That fool does not want to be on the session, bro. bro. Everyone wants to go home, bro. All right, we made it. Nine years in the making. Yeah, I'll be back. Well, thank you, man. Hey, good things take time. So, what do you guys think? Was it all cracked up as it was? It was worth the wait, brother. I appreciate you, man.

1:50:13Welcome back to Random Skater of the Week, the fastest growing segment on YouTube brought to you by mob grip, the number one choice of professional skateboarders worldwide. And the reason is simple, baby. It's just the grippiest as always. Our good friend, Davis Torgerson in the building, but it's the season finale. And you know, we like to mix it up. Keep y 'all guessing Davis. Tell the people what we got planned this week. There's a handful of people that always hit me after a random skater drops and is saying, oh man, I'd love to come on. Yeah, yeah, that's cool. But there's one person that will hit me up that will say this, that I'm just saying is banned from coming on because

1:50:53Davis Torgerson:he's too smart. So we brought in the Bowser of all Bowsers, the final boss to be the Clue Master. We have Jason Rothmeier. Thanks, guys. Welcome. Honored. Apparently I'm an 11 out of the 10 scale, according to Tom K. That's what, you know Justin Zank? Yes. Yeah, he actually texted me today and he's like you need to have Rothmeier on the show and I'm like he's literally coming on tonight and I'm like how good is he he's like he's beyond good I'm like 10 out of 10 he said 11 and I'm like well that's why he's not guessing he's just a clue master uh yeah so Rothmeier we couldn't bring you on the show in any other way than uh than this uh my question is do do we know who this skater is that you have planned?

1:51:40Oh, 100%. Yeah.

1:51:42Davis Torgerson:You can't know. We just recap what happened a few weeks ago when you were like disrespected with the 7.5. When I got five and a half, I was hyped, dude. I'm like, damn, let's go. Five and a half. I thought I was getting a three. Ten is very high. So five and a half, I'm happy. Are you ranking safe as seven and a half, Davis? Well, after the Kenny Hughes, he definitely gets a bump. He's he's getting close to an eight. He's getting close to an eight. You gave him like a point three bump and he's now just a seven eight or something. Rothmeier, we've done we've done like 50 of these. All right. This is a one episode doesn't change, you know, the rain that much.

1:52:28Davis Torgerson:That's a high jump. That's a high jump. He did get it on the third clue, though. That was pretty incredible. Yeah, that was that broke my heart. and he just watched elementality. I just let it breathe for an extra second. Oh yeah, you just watched the element video he was in. That's a true skatinger. A couple extra minutes I'll throw on an old element video. What were you guys, 29 questions deep on SJ? Oh my God. We watched that whole one here in the New Balance office, man. It was painful. That's what makes it fun. the other day. So you enjoyed the segment? Oh yeah, I'm backing it. I know what happened for you guys on that one too.

1:53:11You guys got so caught up when he had the clue about that he skated vert. All you guys could think of was terrain vert guys. I'm like, it ain't a vert dude.

1:53:22Davis Torgerson:So good. You're all derogable. You guys were like, you're just naming off all the guys that you knew skated transition. Yeah, Davis is phenomenal this season. Yeah, it's safe. But were you saying that I saw him at the park and didn't say anything? Yeah, it would have been sick if he just punched you out of nowhere. Why would he punch me, dude? I was like starstruck by him. I was like, God damn. This guy's a real human legend. Why would I get hit, though? Were you guys skating vert? No, anytime I hear like street skater that skates vert, the only person I have is Shani. And that's my brain just stays there for the whole episode.

1:54:00That was a solid guess.

1:54:00Davis Torgerson:But then, yeah, like I said, you guys just couldn't get off that in your heads. I'm sure he's all right. He's a random skater therapist, dude. There you go. Rothmeier, you know the clues. You want to you want to try rifling off the clues here? Right. Sorry, the the rules. Excuse me. You want to start this off? Yeah, host this shit, man. Tell us about the rules, dude. Tell us about the rules. All right. I'm going to be listing off clues to a random skater. you guys each get three guesses blurt out answers at any time you want you can ask me questions I may or may not answer them as we go through this and we have a new rule if you guys all burn through all your guesses everyone gets one more guess, lightning round at the end I like it, fuck, fuck he's good he is good man I think I'm getting Wally pipped good deep cut baseball knowledge too, I like it um he's a natural let's do this you want me to start off fire it hit the music let's do this thing

1:55:09Davis Torgerson:okay former teammates of this random skater include matt beach the new the new oh shit and tony hawk

1:55:22Davis Torgerson:love this and hey boards and shoes only yeah no asphalt yacht club no none of that dude sometimes you got to hit the boat okay uh all right all right you've made it past clue one you're gonna fire a guess in The Hawk, the Hawkster. Okay. Huge. This random skater has not had a crooked guess board. Narrows it down. It does. What side is more narrow, the ones who've had it or the ones who have? They're probably about even. It's just like a bummer that this person hasn't had one, I guess. I'm irrelevant but I haven't had one I thought Jesus Christ I figured out how that made sense Alright Okay You're retaining the knowledge?

1:56:24Davis Torgerson:I'm thinking of the teammates I'm thinking of the teammates This skater's first sponsor was Epic Skateboards

1:56:36Never even heard of it dude

1:56:37Davis Torgerson:I would be surprised if you guys knew of what epic was. To be honest. You're just flexing right now. No, no, no, no, no. Enjoying his moment. I'm just glad I got past question three already. So that's just it'll extend beyond the Kenny Hughes one.

1:56:56Davis Torgerson:You're spared. It's heartbreaking. This random skater had a profile in 411 best of issue three. Jeez. I didn't have that one. Oh, geez. I didn't have that one. And I'll add this surprised me when I saw it. They skated to the Foo Fighters. Interesting. I don't know why it made me laugh when I saw it. I'm like, wow, that is. That's wild. There goes my hero, dude. Fuck. Okay. All right. Question five. Clue five, I guess I should say. this random skater once got into a fist fight with Danny Way

1:57:47shit

1:57:50Davis Torgerson:how did that work out for him I if I remember correctly pretty well actually damn hell yeah taking on Captain America yeah

1:58:07Okay, we got through five. That's good, yeah. I'm feeling good.

1:58:13Davis Torgerson:I expected nothing less. This random skater once shared a pro model with someone with their names fused together on the board. What? Wow. The fuck? So did they have to split the royalty? Good question. I don't know how that worked back then. Fuck. A shared pro board. Wow. Interesting.

1:58:46I still got absolutely nothing.

1:58:48Davis Torgerson:There's no way the people I'm thinking of would get in a fist fight with that anyway.

1:58:56Okay.

1:58:57Davis Torgerson:All right. I'll give you guys a song. this skater skated to Jimi Hendrix all along the watchtower in the video part. I think I know it. Sarah Davis. Uh-oh. Well, I know of one. Maybe there's multiple. Did Greg Lutzka fight Danny Way? Is it Greg Lutzka? It is not Greg Lutzka. We're alive. That's a good guess. You have me nervous though, man. You have me scared. I know. I was like, huh? I don't think that the teammates are lining up, but didn't he skate to it in round three? I think he did. Damn. Wow. Okay. I was like, oh, fuck man. I can't see him doing that. It's 4113. Chilo, bro. Best of. Rob's for throwing a guess out.

1:59:56Davis Torgerson:First one. Yeah, dude. Safe is going to wait 20 more clues, dude. Oh, my God. he might he might it was 401 best of three not 401 issue three not issue three best of three which you know puts it a little later yeah um it's i feel like greg let's go wood ride for a company called epic yeah that would add up probably not it's probably not wrong shit okay i got two left okay we need more okay yeah you're good everyone's everyone's still got plenty of guesses All right. To keep themselves from making a bad skate face, the skater often had photos with their necklace in their mouth. Oh, that's a great fucking clue.

2:00:40What?

2:00:44Davis Torgerson:And it was really noticeable in all his photos. I feel like I can picture people doing. Yeah, someone doing that. Yeah. Fuck, this is sick.

2:01:03I got nothing, man.

2:01:07Davis Torgerson:All right. We're doing good. We're doing good. You're doing great. Yeah. The gears are turning on Davis. I see it. He wants to win so bad. No, I just can't believe it wasn't Greg. Let's go.

2:01:20Davis Torgerson:We're getting into some specifics to where if you hear it and you know it, you're going to get it right away. but if you don't then it's not going to mean anything to you so this skater's parents started a clothing company called T-Bags Jesus Christ dude what this is incredible T-Bags T-Bags from prison it doesn't mean anything to you but there's a lot of people shouting at their computers that's the gold

2:01:54Davis Torgerson:alright I don't know tea bags. No. Okay. Short lived, but pretty popular at one point. All right. Clue number 10. This skater has had at least eight Ender video parts. Whoa.

2:02:18Damn. That's incredible. Who the fuck? Who is this legend? Fuck. fought Danny way. Fuck, man.

2:02:27Davis Torgerson:Chain and mouth. It's going to be one where you're like, oh, yeah, of course they skate with their chain in their mouth. Say he's grinding right now. Look at him. Dude, we all are. Who the hell has that power, dude? Yeah. Hey, was T-Bags a skate-related clothing company started by the parents? Yeah? Totally. Ads and magazines and everything. Okay. No. So parents were fucking down. Yeah. So sick. That is a fucking wicked clue. Oh, I like. No, I don't want to burn another guess. Fuck it. All right, one more clue. All right, all right. Shit. There's only a handful of people with that many Enders.

2:03:21Davis Torgerson:True. This skater is an artist and has a massive mural at a casino in SoCal here that I frequent. Fuck, that's not ridiculous. What is it? I don't... Chris Markovich. Boom! I was rooting for you. That's my guy, Chris. That's who I was thinking. Cooking it up. Let's go. That was one very specific clue. but my guess was going to be the art or the artist it was the art i would have never thought of markovich for enders no offense i had the guess was going to be jamie thomas that's pretty sick and then i was going to rapid fire the art one was kind of specific so yeah i couldn't think what did he share with was he on the firm with matt beach oh i yeah matt beach i put in there because of that you would never have remembered they rode for gns together yeah i wouldn't remember fuck but what new you don't even know probably what do you even know what gns is no no no yeah i've heard the name so many times okay it was like alien before alien that's what i was thinking and audio with tony yeah fuck that's such a good one um tea bags dude i was his name popped up in my head but i was like i don't know if it's runs in the family starting businesses over there oh my what is wrong the clue should have been like has started 17 board brands oh that's later that's later on wait is it is he i think i've actually texted this to you rothmeyer is he has he had the most board sponsors of any pro skater him and mike v i think are real close one or the other okay but i have i have him down on like one of the clues later that he's ridden for over 14 board games.

2:05:11Oh my God. He's actually shredding right now though if you check his Instagram.

2:05:15Davis Torgerson:He's going crazy. Rothfire, what do you think about this? The James Harden of skateboarding. Oh man, yeah. Elite at every stop but so many stops. But so many stops. Would you have gotten it with the next one was had an opener in 401 issue 2 bailing a kickflip at Wallenberg. almost the first person to land a kickflip that would have yeah i think i would have had that i would have thrown that out i think in hindsight knowing it's markovich i might have gotten there but i without no without thinking of it and then the next one was going to be first one to clip carlsbad gap coverage that's the giveaway i would have got yeah because that's all the on video goes into detail about him and dyrdek right yeah yeah no i thought i thought that say was going to get it only because you just watched Third Eye and he had the ender in that video.

2:06:09That's insane. He's had eight enders.

2:06:11Davis Torgerson:But you know, they kind of fake you out with the fucking Donnie Barley push down the street. Yeah. Like his name comes up so you're like Donnie Barley part and then the video just ends. But yeah, I was nowhere near having it. That was impressive. Alright. Damn, Dono. I was nervous. I was nervous if we could use him at some point before we got a chance to do it. I was like, oh man, what if he uses it? I'll be so bummed. No, you snapped. That was a great length. That was really good. I think we got down to 11, and that was the art one. So it's perfect. Okay. I was thinking Jamie Thomas too, but something was off.

2:06:49Davis Torgerson:He had a lot of enders. I almost went reckless and said JT, and then if you said no, I was going to say Reynolds right after. Those are the only guys I could think of with that many enders. Yeah. But they haven't had that many. That's why I was like, it's not them. I was trying to count, but I gave up. I was almost maybe thinking Gershon for a second because didn't he fight? He got in a fight with someone back in the day? That was Reynolds. Reynolds. Okay. Yeah. I could see Markovich fighting though. Yeah. When you go back and read his Chromeball, Davis, they ask him about the fight and he's like, I don't want to talk about it.

2:07:21Davis Torgerson:It was like still kind of, maybe it wasn't too fresh, but it was like only, I think it was probably like 91, 92. And then the Chromeball was from like 2011. So it probably was a little too close. We got to get Markvich on the pod, man. Yeah. He is killing it right now. Yeah, he is. There's like a hip at his local skate park that he's just slaughtering on a daily basis. Why get you trying to be all nice now? You fucking. Yo, yo, don't fucking talk. This guy, all the Mickey Papa sucking up you've been doing lately. My Canadian brother on the live stream at PSU. I was exaggerating, but I squashed.

2:07:59Davis Torgerson:It's all respect. Shouts to Mickey. oh my god fuck that was awesome dude thank you for coming on and doing that man way to end it on a high note my dude yeah secure the dub how many I got this season now two my over under is three or two and a half two and a half maybe two and a half and you got two I took to under so I'm good I got paid he was literally just at the casino know deserved well deserved man i didn't know what tom k was talking about but now i see it

2:08:40Davis Torgerson:crystal clear and he's just like dude that's insane i'm in the middle of the second biggest city in the u.s and my internet sucks i'm literally my computer is directly over my stealing my pay for your own internet dude and it will work you've got mail welcome back to the post office brought to you by our good friends over at dickie's skateboarding quality workwear since 1922 from the work site to the streets ain't nobody keep you fitted like dickie's man ghost final post office of the season a big one super excited but before we get into it a message heading into next season's post office yeah i think it's time we have to put an official time limit on these voice notes because we try and record for roughly 20 minutes and we got people in here trying to take up 10 of that time five single-handedly so one minute that's 60 seconds people um for next season because this first one's like over a minute already but gotta give y 'all a warning and like this ain't because we don't want to hear from you we want to hear from more of you so let's keep it quick 60 seconds keep it moving 61 seconds the ghost ain't having it under 60 in the post office who we got up first first up we got an email from mike he didn't let's take a listen hey fellas mike here fellow torontonian thank you so much for all you guys do while having Mitch B, Jelba, and Jake Anderson in the van must have made for some strange baritone symphony of madness.

2:10:37I've actually had the pleasure of hanging out with both of you on a couple occasions. Back when I lived with my pal Jimmy Decare and the 100 Bassey days here in Toronto, one time Donna went out of his way it was snowing on boxing day and I was waiting in line outside of a drift to purchase pretty sweet which had just come out and as soon as Donna saw me in line having hung out before he came out grabbed me and pulled me past about 50 people waiting in line same sort of thing happened with Saifa the first fun jam when he went out of his way once he saw me to ensure that I got one of the collectible sweat towels you guys give out which brings me to my question here I'm just hoping you can each give us an example of a time when Dono went way above and beyond to help out the ghost and a time when the ghost went well out of his way to help our boy Dono out.

2:11:48Once again, thank you so much for you guys, for everything you guys do, and looking forward to seeing you skating in the city this summer, as well as the Buncham. Take care, fellas.

2:12:01Davis Torgerson:Damn, should have listened to this one in advance. Lovely email. In reference to Jalbo, Mitch, and Jake in the van, I gotta say dude Carlos was one of the loudest guys in the van as well Might not think that But Carlos Freestyle savant Some might say So just shout out Carlos too For being a big voice in the van Once he starts he Will not stop I was mostly sleeping in the back Huge shout out to Jimmy though Jimmy Decare I haven't seen him in ages homie i know miss you doug um this is tough dude we're doing things for each other on a daily weekly monthly basis basically been each other's right hand man in the bunt for nine years now coming on 10 um day in and day out the ghost goes above and beyond for me um obviously sometimes scheduling is a little bit harder for me with work and the family and stuff so he goes above and beyond every day to make things work out easier for me which i couldn't be more thankful of um yeah it's just an everyday thing that goes goes above and beyond for me so massive thanks for that one specific thing um it's got to be starting this pod man like he was the one who pushed buying that microphone from best buy 10 years ago I didn't want to do it I was skating And he wasn't taking no for an answer So it's got to be that one for sure Damn Yeah Similar I'm trying to think of stuff outside of the pod Because I feel like that's obviously We have each other's back On everything

2:13:55Damn

2:14:00Davis Torgerson:uh i i say i remember actually this is kind of like i don't even know this is the first thing that popped into my head but um maybe a tmi from from the boys but i remember no it's not it's not embarrassing but i remember um when i got the news that i had to have my third ankle surgery which I think I was 29 I just turned 29 and I was like I thought I was done with that shit I hadn't had surgery in seven years and it just kind of broke me on the spot and Donna was at my mom's house in the basement and then I just started crying which was kind of crazy but Donna was there for a hug and support so um that I remember that for forever dude we've been friends for like 20 something years now.

2:14:54Lots of memories. Yeah. This is, sometimes these emails get a little emotional, eh?

2:15:02Davis Torgerson:I know. Fuck, man. All right. What the hell is that? Shout out, Mike. Back to skating. Next up, we have an email from Aaron Bliss. Yo, Dono Sefa, what do we think about back tail 270 shove? I've always thought it looked like shit, but I see a lot of people do them.

2:15:24um that's a good one because i agree there they can be done yeah they can be done well yeah it looks like shit man you're not lying dude like although bobby did one that uh done bat last summer or two summers ago where he literally popped the shove above the ledge which was cool but um yeah it's just a dorky trick maybe yeah i still remember i think mark

2:15:53Davis Torgerson:johnson did the first one that was like in a big video popularized it and i feel like that one even kind of maybe bounced off the ground or wasn't like perfect but i remember at the time everyone was like oh talking about it and then winning did the first one switch and that was insane um but overall when i see them now i'm just unless you do it like bobby of course there's all these exceptions but i would tend to agree um just prefer a plain shove back tail shove man yeah so we agree with you on that one thank you all right next up we got an email from sabati long time first time blah blah let's cut the shit and keep the word count down for the good good ghost you just wasted like 20 words right there first as an american i want to know if canadian content hits different for you guys where do you guys stand on young blood 1986 easily in my top five favorite films do you have any strong feels for strange brew letter kenny and or shore z trailer park boys uh angine de poitrine french canadian band second i want to hear your opinion on my dream trick or if gustave or shane has already done it coming at the ledge front side you do a backside 180 nose grind switch backside 360 out i envision it as a backside 180 nose grind to regs but landing on the nose to pivot 180 completing the 360 out a full 360 out with no pivot seems too absurd uh also what's up with bringing back the upside down pacers logo cap not really a question i'm just trying to manifest it into reality lastly i would like to uh to throw said hat into the internship ring thanks for your time and for filling up mine.

2:17:56Davis Torgerson:Burn Barnes and Prosper. Love you, bye. Okay. The word count was not down, first of all. It was actually through the fucking roof. One of the longer emails of the season. Strong feels for Trailer Park Boys, for sure. Definitely went through a Trailer Park Boys phase where it definitely took over my vocabulary, which was an awful time. probably haven't recovered the donald isms you probably haven't recovered freaking too much which is awful absolutely awful was swearing like crazy for about a year and a half this equally as bad um i don't know about this dream trick so it's like back 180 nose grind 270 out but you're going to alley-oop into it.

2:18:50Again, might be too much, similar to the backtail 270 shove. I think the alley-oop back 180 nose grind to regs would be sick. I don't think we need that extra 180.

2:19:01Davis Torgerson:Are you saying going backwards? Oh, just like how you do it, you mean? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But alley-oop, right? That's what he wants? Alley-oop back 180 nose grind back to regs. No, no, coming out of frontside. just just regular just regular back 180 nose ground but do you want it out of you or just regular or just regular yeah you back 180 in it's like a backbreaker of pain back 180 in back 180 nose grind normal and then switch back three out so like the way i do it more rotation yeah i i don't think that would look that good there's a few people who may have done it that come to mind um oh shit i'm forgetting and fuck what's his name the euro guy not gustav the other man bun legend anthony uh i don't want to guess his name but skated for small and stuff Let me see if I can find him.

2:20:10Davis Torgerson:But he's got switch back three, back threes, like light work and shit, and back 180 nose grind, switch backside flips and all that. So I'm guessing he's done it because he's one of the techest ledge skaters of all time. So this is just a front nose pretzel, like back 180 nose grind. Yeah. I mean, Carl Watson could probably do it just how he wants it. Yeah. Has he not? I have no idea. um fuck and then the legend who is on primitive and adidas i don't know what he's saying now oh my god it's gonna what's this oh uh peacock yeah brian peacock he's also i mean i don't like them but he does them like switchback 50 or like whatever however you want to get into your back switchback five heat 360s out of switchback fives he was like a flash in the pan real quick okay he was huge for a sec and now i think that's a little disrespectful man a lot he was a beast for many years but like where did he where is he bro i think he's back in the states but uh i just want to see more like he was huge for i'm saying i've hit him up to come on the pod The hell is shit was big.

2:21:34And then that he was big in that, I think.

2:21:38Davis Torgerson:Yeah, but he had at least like 10 years of at least 10 years of relevance. Well, he's still relevant. I just mean, he was like headed to upper echelon with Adidas. I just think we see him less. Maybe that's just my algorithm. There was no disrespect meant there. It was more of wanting more. Yeah. well i don't know if he's still on everything but if you hear this no disrespect we're huge fans and would love you to come on the pod i literally lurk his instagram like every couple months and re-watch certain edits because he was one of those guys that's so good at insta edits and the pop and shit guaranteed tremendous safety this one

2:22:27mm-hmm

2:22:30Davis Torgerson:dude he's so butter yeah oh

2:22:39that's what I'm saying dude switch backside flip oh what the fuck hit us with that switch tray vintage yeah we need more of that alright All right, great email. Cool dream trick. Next up, we've got a voice note from Ted Barrow, one of our favorites. Let's take a listen.

2:23:03Davis Torgerson:I also like the way that Dono pronounces Detroit.

2:23:11Davis Torgerson:And I think it's for someone with some kind of French in their background. And Canadians are definitely more French than most people. to decide how you pronounce a word that is rooted in French. You know, I was thinking about it. I've been around the block a few times since the Chima 2 Vans release party back at Max Fish in 2018. And I realized that those type of things where you invite big accounts from all around the country, if not the world, the entertainers are paid to do those parties. like I'm sure that Chris Naratko and your production team and you guys and maybe even Kyle and Tyson and everyone there was paid to do that thing but not me and yes I know it's been about eight years and I'm still cringing about that fucking night but the only you know the one person who didn't get paid for that thing me the person who put their neck out on the line read and wrote the most racist and uncomfortable roast imaginable which you guys signed off on and made lifelong enemies of some of my favorite skaters and company owners I like bands I was supposed to make fun of that shoe and that shoe flops that's my cat Bonnie no that's Bo my question is I was just making a point do you guys have pets?

2:24:55Davis Torgerson:What are your pet's names? It's Bo Bonnie's looking at me like what the fuck are you doing sending a voice note to these two friendly Canadians who are so far beyond your petty gripes about something that happened eight years ago so let's move on I want to hear about your pets do you have pets? Do you have cats? Tell me about them holy shit what a legend um yeah dude still think about that night wasn't supposed to go down like that man one of the great um homies that like we just for some reason have not seen again since which is so brutes i feel like uh we've somehow just never been in the same city as ted in like fucking hundred years seven years or something which is highly unfortunate ted i love just seeing your skate updates on instagram all the time still shred i want to switch back tail something like in your face like longer than you some sort of contest one day still um but yeah miss you bro unfortunately neither of us pets to talk about?

2:26:10Davis Torgerson:Or did you get one? No pets. Still on the search. I don't really want a pet. That's the problem. But one of my son's cousins has a bunch of fish and lizards. So we might end up taking one of those and bringing it home. We shall see. That's no maintenance. Yeah. I'm not looking for anything running around the house. Yeah. I just feel bad about that night still, man. It wasn't supposed to be Kyle and Tyson. It was supposed to be Chima. And that's where it all went wrong. One of the craziest things was waking up the next day and seeing Ted's 500 piece story. Talking about the night before. Ted, we owe you for that.

2:26:54We'll pay you in form of a dinner or something when we do cross paths again. Margaritas.

2:27:03Davis Torgerson:Yeah, fuck. Epic night. Ted took one for the team got booed that was crazy that was awesome I miss you bro hopefully fucking catch you sooner than later alright next up we got an email from messy crockpot Lee Yanku not my first time emailing you guys it won't be my last I'm hoping by the email address you guys remember who I am you guys talked about Lee Yang who's newfound career change however this episode aired on April 1st is this actually true or was it an April April Fool's trick and also what's the one food you guys absolutely will not eat and also I attached a clip just in case you guys need some stuff from dudes in their mid 40s for the fun video thanks for everything that you do Yo, bold.

2:28:02Davis Torgerson:Just sending a clip for the bunt video via email. Respect it. Messy Crockpots, real name. Sent in an email later. Mike Ridgway. Shout out, Mike. Been dropping into the post office for years now. That is not Lee Yanku's new job. We might have to call him Mike Gullible because that's crazy. That's insane. Believe that. We didn't even know it was April 1st, but that was obviously a joke. That was insane. okay one food you absolutely will not eat let's see if we can guess each other's see if it will not eat mushrooms on anything in any form remove the mushrooms oh man what the hell bro this would have been easier when we were like teenagers because you didn't there was a lot of stuff you didn't eat back in the day but then you know you started to travel the world and diversify that palette you were never as bad as cody but you were way worse than you are now i feel like you eat fucking most things now i don't eat anything now except for there's like toppings i won't eat are you a no onions guy yeah i hate onions okay unless it's cooked like a caramelized or in a sauce no raw onions on fucking there couldn't be anything worse cilantro is worse yeah yeah fuck cilantro too okay i the only reason i mean it just came to me but you're you're not as much of a baby about the onions as like some of our friends like jake and i'll make it worse work if i have to but yeah yeah it's not great and then uh one food i will absolutely never eat is liver you ever try liver oh hell no it's awful dude it's like sand no i had a boxed it one time and i almost puked and it was like a real fancy real fancy like family reunion dinner at the toronto golf club they're bringing around on clatters and it looked like a dessert it was like duck liver i was like i thought it was gonna be sweet and then this weird ass taste came in my mouth oh my god dude i've had it bacon wrapped glazed and i was like dude if it's ever gonna be good it's gonna be now couldn't couldn't finish it man disgusting yeah i wonder if there's anything else i think that's pretty much it dude no there's other shit just that we're not like some weird raw shit you ever watch old boy no like the korean movie he fucking eats like a fucking alive like squid or fucking octopus and it's like too much pulsating it's that's too much thanks that's a good email all right next up norby guerrero in the building says yo so are y 'all rich now so jealous of your guy's lifestyle.

2:31:09Anyway, can the ghost hit us with some classic gibberish to end the season? Makes me laugh so hard. Oh, you know what?

2:31:19Davis Torgerson:Let me just try something real quick. Oh, fuck. If this works, it might be hype.

2:31:32Davis Torgerson:While we wait for this, no, we're not rich. Far from it. I think we've said it before. The last place you want to go to get rich is the skateboard industry. But we're rich in passion about that and love for the game. You know what I'm saying? Dude, I mean, you don't really go on the message boards anymore, especially slap. But the shit that these guys think is going on with us these days is insane, man. like they think we've completely switched up from who we once were won't talk shit about anyone because we have too many friends in the industry we're too connected um there's layers to the thought process of these guys now and uh obviously you know doing this shit for nine years you make a lot of friends along the way but uh much less connected than people think and the one narrative that is the craziest thing is that we're getting a bag from PSL to push this shit and I just want to make it clear that we haven't gotten a dollar from PSL nor did we ask for a dollar or expect anything Mike Moe great guy friend of ours play fantasy football with him save us in some some crypto chats with him from over the years we is it like so far-fetched that we could genuinely just like PSL that we would want to talk about it on the show that we create um it's insane like there's no money we're not paid we have no part of the actual business we're literally just fans of skateboarding and we love this new format um just needed to make that clear dude because the the shit on slap is is getting out of hand dude um wow i was not aware of that that's hilarious i will give them credit the less hating i'm sure if we listen to some episodes from like 2016 17 18 we're probably you know letting it fly a little bit more so i'll give them that sometimes you are like oh fuck like pretty much know someone at most of the big brands now and yeah but that's i mean that's that's to be expected you know there's different routes we don't want to be the hater guys even like rapid fire like sometimes it's exhausting just trying to fucking manufacture some hate because no what like skaters don't necessarily want to hate unless it is always so much more fun when they do but it's just it's hard to uh survive off hate you know if you want to actually grow in the skate world skate space a big thing is like uh not questioning the format per se of the pod but like how we don't um push conversations further and like stay in our lane and stuff like that but we only have like an hour and a half to two hours with each guest we're trying to accomplish as much as possible in that time you can't keep these guys four or five hours and then this has to be edited down into like a listenable format it's already such a long format we understand that you know the listeners want more they want us to go deeper as we are doing our best to cover as much as possible while still making it uh listenable so i mean if we've let some guys down over the last few seasons apologies but just know that we're you know we're still the same we're literally in the same spots we're still in tdot doing our thing on the outside looking in for most of the industry to be honest with you but yes we've made some friends along the way but we're not rich we get no money from psl that's still are who we are man so we also started this when we were in our 20s we're now in our late 30s we've also grown up a lot over the last nine years and you've seen us grow up a lot as a 20 year old it's a lot easier to talk shit and not give a flying fuck now i when you don't know anyone and now i'm going you know we're different we see everyone which is a big thing as well we have these events that we want people to come to we have these trips we want people to come on if we would have gone through and burned every bridge on the way to where we are we wouldn't be able to do these things yeah hit them with some gibberish man i just went off on a rant and i just want to back that because i think sometimes people just think about things selfishly if you like the pod back in the day and now you think we're soft or something that's fair but it's like do you want us like you said burn every bridge and then not exist and no one wants to come on the pod or would you rather a version with slightly less hate but it's never been all about hate like the end of rapid fire is like fucking 3 % of the podcast most of it is just us skate nerding out which has not changed one bit and the PSL thing is fucking hilarious though

2:37:07Davis Torgerson:okay damn it I was trying to get Phil to call me if he calls me back he says he's gonna call me in a couple minutes so i'll just save the gibberish for for then all right let's do one maybe two more we're we're pushing This time limit. Yeah. Donald, you switched up, man. I can't believe you. Dude, it actually hurt me reading that shit. And then I was like, this is what I say if I never reads this shit, dude. I'm like trying to convince myself like, yo, I ain't changed, man. But I'm actually like 10 years older and obviously way softer and probably more tired in general. So maybe I am a little bit softer, but I think that also happens with age.

2:37:50I think in your 20s, I didn't really give a fuck about anything. now i'm like yo i actually love the button want to do this forever you know like what in season one or two i'm like oh if this shit ends we'll go out in a blaze of glory and now i'm like i don't

2:38:04Davis Torgerson:want this shit to end it's the coolest thing that's the thing it's like it's just sustainability and it's just natural um i don't understand like i think the people that are saying that if they truly put themselves in our shoes what do you think they would do do you think they would just fucking go crazy hating every week that's the other thing it's like don't you you kind of want this to go on right like do we not want to keep doing this you guys not want to you know i can't speak for them but hopefully i would want them to listen like we do our best to get these guys in here we're approaching 300 interviews starting from a no-name podcast by ourselves in a basement to now hopefully getting to this 300th interview our fifth event finally dropping the bunt video like some big milestones along the way we've obviously had to play our cards and hopefully we've played them right like i'm happy with how we've gone about it same same and And on that note, yo, Tyne, frappes-moi avec tes sons les plus forts.

2:39:16C 'est qui?

2:39:17Davis Torgerson:Non, juste, yo, va fou. C 'est qui, non? A bon sang in this sub, c 'est ma! Ken, zoom it in! Please, please. That's probably at work. Please, please. Mais mon, my goal. Oh my. All right, get him out of here. He's on the last. He's on the last. He made it. You guys need help. I'll call you back. Sorry. Phil's throat is hurting. He wasn't able to deliver. All right. Dude, rapid fire this one last email. let's see if we can do one more and end on a good note uh the last psl one there's two more we could do them both quick let's do it quick okay sorry answering one long all right uh josh hansen what's cracking boys i was wondering how you feel about certain tricks validity and psl double varial flips for example and if any trick and if any trick should not be allowed or banned much love 701 bitch you know how we still yo where the fuck's the 701 great question let me look it up real quick what area code is 701 north dakota covering cities like fargo bismarck and grand forest fargo damn it shows that's wicked shout out sluggo um i don't think anything's illegal in psl let it fly that's why you're there yeah you might not like it and i don't love it especially with one person has like an unstoppable bag like that it's like if ginwood and get hurt los santos might be champions right now because that was looking unfair but yeah you can't you can't ban something i think wait there is one trick that's not allowed isn't there well you just have to pop there's like no grabs right yeah So you can't do like no complies or boneless shit.

2:41:29No, you could do the no complies. Yeah, I meant boneless. You can't like do the scoop grab thing.

2:41:35Davis Torgerson:Yeah. Yeah. Otherwise, I think everything goes. I mean, that switch ride off that sinner tried to pull off. Yeah, Foy didn't like that. I was not happy. Yeah. All right. Last email for the season and on a wholesome note from Kenny R. Yo, what's good, boys? I know that some parents are super supportive of skating, while others see it as a distraction and maybe don't like the stereotypes attached to it, especially in the early to mid 2000s. How did y 'all's parents feel about skateboarding? Have their opinions changed on it at all? Or have they been pretty consistent with their stance?

2:42:18Davis Torgerson:My mom was always supportive. of and my dad wasn't he he would always whenever i did something bad or whatever he'd he'd be like threatened to break my board but he didn't even call it a skateboard he's like i'm gonna break your stick but i think i've said this before once uh once the nike boxes started coming and he would get the odd pair here and there. He changed his tune a bit. Dude, I think we were really lucky. We had a huge crew that grew over the years. All of our parents were wicked. Sleepovers with four, five, six of us at a time. Staying out late, taking the subway home. All of our parents were great, man.

2:43:13And I don't think it's changed on it. I think they're just like more proud to see that it's turned into something we still do with our friends to this day. But to have our good friend, six-year-old, his dad was like the hockey dad of pain. Loved hockey, would like rent the ice so we could play more hockey. He hated that we skated. He liked that we had something to do in the summer, but he wished we took skating seriously. He wanted those things out of there. But now to this day, even his opinions changed, man. So it's just something, you know, parents don't want to see their kids get hurt. Sometimes you get hurt skating and it can definitely be a distraction to school.

2:43:53We know that. But no, I think usually parents come around and see the good in it. Yeah, if anything, like just seeing the group of friends we're lucky enough to still have to this day.

2:44:06Davis Torgerson:It's fucking for life. Doesn't get much better. So they've all come around, even my pops. He just doesn't understand still being hurt all the time. He's like, you're still doing this? My grandma, too, just never gets it. But it is what it is. All right, y 'all. That's going to wrap up the post office for this season. Next season, get your emails, voice notes into thebuntlive at gmail.com. Under 60 seconds. Let's keep it moving and answer lots of questions next season. Hell yeah.

2:44:46all right welcome back to the rundown the skateboard world source for sports the last rundown of the season heading into the nba playoffs nhl playoffs we're gonna rapid fire through some predictions and uh let's just see how far we get but first things first our good friend jesse alba has sparked up a wmba fantasy league uh safe it couldn't be more excited if you're first overall uh who you taking and then let's get into the nba

2:45:20Davis Torgerson:um i would go asia wilson and let me check the app see who they've got on the draft board but you know i might go page beckers too that's my girl right there she's pierced ease but yeah asia wilson if i'm trying to win okay moving over to the to the nba we have wait who are you taking what the fuck i'll take uh yeah i think asia wilson's the easy pick she's the best player in the league hopefully by by a large margin um then maybe you know sprinkle in some uh after the Toronto Tempo players. So I have something to cheer for in our inaugural season. All right, NBA time. Dude, the Eastern Conference play-in.

2:46:10Two teams out of the four are going to make it on. The Sixers, the Magic, the Hornets, and the Heat. I'm hoping it's the Hornets and the Sixers. How about yourself?

2:46:22Davis Torgerson:Hornets and Sixers all day. The Magic have been pretty underwhelming all season. A lot of injuries to key guys along the way, but just not fun to watch. I feel like I don't know if they're going to fire their coach or what. It's like coach versus Paolo Bancaro all year. Some tension there. I've never been a Paolo guy, so I would love for them to lose to the Sixers. Heat, you know what I'm saying? Zombie heat, whatever. They fucking never want to go away. Playing team every damn year. Sick of it. They're not a real contender. The Sixers at full strength. Of course, Embiid finds a way to get hurt Every year this time of year Appendicitis, just brutal Wait, he's out?

2:47:05Davis Torgerson:Bro, he just had Emergency appendectomy the other day I laugh, but it's sad, man It truly is sad, one of the saddest things That's out of his hands, that's just like Sometimes it's injuries on the court And then sometimes it's this shit You're like, are you kidding me? You can't catch a break, dude Yeah, so hopefully the Hornets and 76ers Make it for best first round matchups. And then in the West, you have the Clippers, the Warriors, the Suns, and the Trailblazers. I think all four are pretty shit. I'd like to see the Clippers make it in. Yeah, there's no one really fun in that group because none of them, I think, have a real chance.

2:47:49Davis Torgerson:Also because someone's facing the Thunder as guaranteed dust and someone's facing uh the spurs or maybe there's a shot in the right matchup but i just hate that kawaii's having his best season probably since 2019 and they that's the same year they decide to trade away fucking harden and like kind of tank zubach like so unfortunate there but if i had to pick i would you know i'm a steph guy i would love to see even though they're playing the clippers so it's impossible um let's go sons actually i like the blazers i don't care who makes it out of those all right let's go to the locked in matchups in the eastern conference you got the knicks and the hawks hawks one of the hottest teams down the stretch new york knicks thought that this would be their year to win the eastern conference with tatum out obviously cade and detroit they do what they do now tatum's back boston potentially looking like the best team in the east the knicks get past the hawks yeah i think they do i think it goes six though the hawks young hungry they're you know just got more pep in their step ever since getting rid of trey young who i've never been a huge fan of um so i'm looking forward to that series as you know we were both hoping it was raptors knicks just for the hype that's all i wanted but uh we'll take it jalen johnson and crew good luck i love nakil alexander walker's story first player since remember your boy cj mccullum when i mid-draft i was like yo draft him draft him and you're like what i had to block him from our other homie in a fantasy draft first player since mccullum to go from averaging under 10 points per game to 20 the next season.

2:49:42So shout out, Naa. Huge season. One of the great stories. And then the Cavs versus our fifth place Toronto Raptors. Bill Simmons versus Kendrick Perkins. Beef is over. Bill can suck it. Perk wins. Not only did he finish inside the sixth, but they're the fifth. Against Cleveland, though. They got Harden. They got the big dogs there. um Brandon Ingram what a story all season long you know he came over not the flashiest or brightest signing but my god has he filled a role man yeah I'm actually gonna google this right now but

2:50:21Davis Torgerson:uh I think I gotta admit I was dead wrong in our group chat last year uh fantasy group chat I was kind of hating on the signing and it was mostly because of all the evidence I'd seen throughout his career uh i think he's he played over 65 games i think once in his entire career um just and you don't you barely notice it you just always have like a toe and miss a month and a half and then this or that so i was like bro what the fuck but uh happy to be wrong on that one he was a nice stabilizing force uh for the raps and i just want to look up his games played this year and dude scotty barnes hell of a story hell of a draft pick um heart and soul of this team and just so we're clear we were three and oh against cleveland this season all the games were before the end of november so early in the season but two on the road and one at home three and oh against cleveland uh i think this is a winnable series man if we we drag it out make it tough for these guys to play you make it tough for Harden and Mitchell to play it's uh could get interesting yeah I feel like the Raps just hit you from they they've got a balanced team they hit you from all angles I'm not going to be delusional I think the Cavs should win this but I think we could still make it interesting uh okay here Donald I just want to tell you real quick his career games played uh he's 10 years in the league okay rookie season 79 games epic and then we go 59 52 62 61 55 45 64 18 and then 77 this year so he's back the evidence was there for me to be like questioning it but when he's on the court he's guaranteed 20 points per game plus so bi um i mean you've been here all year but welcome to toronto we're happy to have you and let's fucking get a couple playoff dubs man all right and in the west you have the nuggets and the t wolves this is this is tv right here i don't think the nuggets wanted to play them no they've i think it was this fucking three years in a row or some shit we've seen this matchup we saw that one year in Detroit a couple summers ago was insane.

2:52:52I think the Nuggets did their best to try and slip down to the fourth seed and it just didn't work out man. The tanking and the sitting, not tanking but the resting kind of makes it hard to jockey in the standings towards the end of the year.

2:53:08Davis Torgerson:But now this should be must see TV. I like both those teams so kind of hate that they're playing each other first round. I would have much preferred like Denver against Houston or something. Yeah. Many versus the Lakers. Yeah. But, yeah. Epic battle ahead, man. Last time it won seven and fucking Minnesota roared back. I think they were down 20 going into the fourth or something along those lines. Dude, I just think Denver's a lot to handle, man. They're three and one against them in the regular season. I think it's Denver series to lose. But we'll see, man. We'll see. And then you have the Lakers and the Rockets.

2:53:50The Lakers beaten and battered, man. Missing, obviously, Luka and Austin Reeves. They say Luka's going to rejoin the team. And Houston, KD, who has more experience than KD in the playoffs? We're seeing KD and LeBron go toe-to-toe in the twilights of their career. Good for the league, I guess.

2:54:15Davis Torgerson:Yeah it just sucks because both these teams Aren't at like What we kind of expected And both aren't at full strength I think the Rockets Were a surefire contender And then they lose our boy Fred Van Vliet To an ACL in the preseason I think or training camp or whatever So they were never quite where they were Supposed to be and they just had a weird Up and down season and then the Lakers Obviously missing Luka and Reeves So So it makes it winnable for both sides. I put my money on Houston. And I think I heard a stat that KD's 9-5 all time against LeBron in the playoffs. Something like that. So he's got the edge.

2:54:59Davis Torgerson:We shall see. All this is fine and dandy. But throughout the year, the top two seeds in each conference have really set themselves apart from the pack. I guess, you know, Denver can hang with OKC and San Antonio. But for the most part, the OKC, Thunder and San Antonio Spurs have been the top dogs. Who comes out on top in the Western Conference? I think it's the Thunder. Even though the Spurs were 3-1 against them, the Spurs made a huge mistake in game 82 of the regular season. they lost to denver i believe the spurs did yeah so they'll have to beat them both yeah so now they got to go through both but it was bad for denver too right denver didn't want to play mini denver wanted to lose that game as well yes but minnesota is like a tier a tier below in my opinion i just think the spurs had a chance to go on the other side of the bracket yeah and they completely fucked themselves but it's tough because they sat wemby right and denver was sitting their star so you would hope to still beat them but yeah but that bro they sat went wemby why like i know it was obviously windhorse and steven a were arguing about this um they say wemby's hurt but he dropped 40 the game before so like what's the big difference like go out there handle your business make OKC go through Denver and then you get the clearer path.

2:56:37But then Stephen A's all on his high horse saying like, oh, we should be, you know, the Spurs aren't scared of nobody. He has some of the dumbest takes in all of sports. It ain't about being scared. It's about being healthy and getting through those first couple series as quick as possible. But honestly, I think San Antonio wins the Western Conference.

2:56:58Davis Torgerson:Really? Oh, you're on that Kendrick Perkins lifestyle? You know, they're unstoppable, dude. And the season series against OKC is no joke. Bro, crazy stat. Shea Gilgis-Alexander. You know when you get to a certain level of elite, I think Jokic suffered from this too. People just kind of get bored. I'm not bored of SGA yet. I'm just saying. But people like the new shiny toy. I feel like that's where you're going with it. The Spurs are more exciting. Jokic still. I would prefer Jokic. You want to know what SGA just did this year? He just put up 30 points per game plus at 55 % shooting. We draft centers in fantasy for 55 % shooting.

2:57:47Davis Torgerson:We're happy with 30. Yeah, I think he's the first guard since Jordan, and he actually eclipsed Jordan. Jordan, 53 % at 30 plus points. 55 % is just I think we're spoiled sometimes with these Jokic SGA types don't forget SGA is still that dude I think he's going to get back to back MVPs and I think they're coming out of the west yeah it's you know one thing the NBA doesn't have is a star problem they got stars literally left right and center you know Jason Tatum a god damn afterthought these days Jalen Brown fighting for his life to become a star of the NBA. People just hate Boston. That's his problem.

2:58:29But there's stars everywhere. You got even Jalen Brunson, the star of New York. I don't think we're forgetting about SGA yet. I just think that Wemby is... Not forgetting, but just taking him for granted. Yeah, Wemby is ahead of schedule. He's a freak, man. He's an absolute freak. It's going to be interesting to see what happens. I got a question. I got a quick question. Finally, the NBA regular season is over. And now the casuals like myself can start to watch.

2:59:02Davis Torgerson:Bro, I'm a casual now too, man. I can't wait to lock in. But I got a question for you. You're dropping the word star a bunch. Last year, we had the star-superstar debate quite a bit. What are your current thoughts on, according to you, superstar Tyrese Hatterberger? Dude, I haven't seen much of him this year, but I just recently saw in the last couple of days, his battle with shingles is being well-documented. Not to make fun, I think that's a tough thing. We've known some people that had it. What's the question? I don't understand. What are we asking? I never thought he was a superstar, but that's what the playoffs do.

2:59:42Do not, do not. That's what we beefed about all last playoffs. I said he was a superstar?

2:59:47Davis Torgerson:Yes, I said he wasn't. Well, this is what the playoffs do. And it has the same thing for the NHL. The longer teams and certain players go into the playoffs, their superstar level rises because there's no one else to watch. But how quickly I've forgotten of Halibur. Is he in the league still? No. So, first of all, let me just apologize. That was a terrible joke that I saw on the internet yesterday. he's he's gained he's gained a lot of weight and there's all these pictures and shit coming out and they're calling him tyrese hallie burger or had a burger that's awesome uh but it's because of the medication this guy's a fucking 200 million dollar he's fine he gained a little weight big deal he was for shingles skinny as hell it was a toothpick but uh dandy and the pacers man what a fucking they could have been they were minutes away from fucking maybe not minutes but quarters away from winning a championship now they won 19 games in this new tanking era they they played it perfectly because it's the it's exactly what happened with the warriors when they had some injuries one year they missed the playoffs all of a sudden they got a fucking top pick not that they drafted well with it they got fucking james wiseman but it's like you go from elite to tank for one year and then you're back to elite like if he's back next year they have a top four pick potentially um they're right back in the mix but Tyrese hasn't played all year so so you got OKC I got the Spurs head into the east obviously same thing top two seeds a little bit of a level above the rest Detroit's been there all year Boston led by Jalen Brown now they get Tatum back it can be someone other than these two but who do you think comes out of the east

3:01:38Davis Torgerson:that's the toughest question um i'm gonna go with i can't even see it but let's just go with the pistons man the thing about the pistons and and you know i think i would choose the same i think that their first round matchup if it's them and charlotte that's tough for them they've had trouble with them i think they lost the last game to them and lamello is he's in his bag going at beef stew like they're one of the hottest teams in the league numbers wise and what a sad thing for like detroit to have this huge season they've been waiting forever for cade becomes this star slash superstar and now they have to go up against them i'm gonna say boston comes out of the east safer choice yeah that's kind of what my gut's saying but i just i'm on some say it isn't say and eight so vibes so you got detroit and okc who wins the nba championship okc man come on man yeah that's a good matchup for them i'm gonna say and i regret doing it but the boston celtics oh my god will win the nba championship if they do the silver lining would be another jalen brown finals mbp because he has chosen one tatum just rear seat one thing's for sure do not give tatum the mic first give that shit to jalen and uh i love that uh that will be the storyline that it was tatum celtics that uh did the dirty work all right nhl time real quick because then we got to get a World Cup minute in as well.

3:03:24Obviously, the Leafs, one of the most disgusting, despicable, shameful seasons in the Matthews era. But he hasn't missed the playoffs in his whole career. He went down with a knee injury. We lost Marner. Teams in disarray. Fired the general manager. Head coach is probably next up. So complete and utter retool this offseason. real quick, don't think about it too much. Here's the first round of the playoffs. Buffalo Sabres, the one seed versus the Boston Bruins.

3:04:00Buffalo, let's go. Buffalo, first time back in the playoffs in a number of years. The team is doing it. Young, hungry, unstoppable. Tampa Bay Lightning, the two seed versus your Montreal Canadiens, the three seed.

3:04:13Davis Torgerson:Damn, I kind of like Tampa Bay too. But let's go, Canadians. This is our year, man. I can see it. I'm going to say the Montreal Canadiens as well. Not as hateable as they used to be for the Toronto Maple Leafs. So I'll say Montreal. Like Cole Caulfield scoring 50-plus goals, they call him Mr. Saturday Night at the Bell Center. Hopefully that continues. But Tampa Bay, they got probably one of the best players in the league, and Kucherov, they got to do something about him. The Carolina Hurricanes versus the Ottawa Senators. This will be quick work, maybe four, five games. Carolina makes quick work of Ottawa.

3:04:51Nobody wants to go to Ottawa this time of year anyways. Yeah, I got Carolina as well. And then a series that nobody thought possible. The Battle of Pennsylvania. Sidney Crosby is back in the playoffs. The greatest hockey player of all time. And it's not even debatable. What? Versus the Philadelphia Flyers. Sid the Kid, Pittsburgh, Philly. I'm going Pittsburgh.

3:05:19Davis Torgerson:I'm also going Pittsburgh. You know what I'm saying? Steeler Nation. Let's make it pop, bud. And in the West, you have the first place Colorado Avalanche against the Los Angeles Kings, the wild card. Right now, as of Tuesday morning, it's not completely locked up, but all things point to the LA Kings being in that wild card spot. Quinton Byfield going back to the playoffs. But they do not have it easy down there against Colorado. The best team in the league. Oh, shit. They're the best team in the league. Well, good thing I believe in upsets and miracles. Kings, let's go. One of my five teams or four.

3:05:58This will be four games, maybe five if they're lucky. The best series in the first round, the Dallas Stars and the Minnesota Wild. Going toe to toe. I got Minnesota. I told Davis I'd be on the bandwagon with the Leafs out. So it's Minnesota the three seed for me.

3:06:17Davis Torgerson:Minnesota all day, every day. Davis, let's get it. Good luck. Y 'all need this. The first place of Las Vegas Golden Knights going up against the wildcard Utah Mammoth. An expansion team. I've never even heard of those scrubs, man. Brand new. Making their first playoff appearance against the Las Vegas Golden Knights who had a last-minute coaching change to push them over the edge. Yeah, I got to go with Vegas. Experience reigns supreme in the playoffs and health. The Dark Knights all day. Expansion teams never sound right at first. It takes like a while. You're Tom Mammoth? Yeah. Mammoth, get the fuck out of here.

3:06:57Davis Torgerson:It's actually wicked. And then the last one. Nobody would have ever thought the Anaheim Ducks would squeak into the playoffs, But the young roster has done just that. But it won't last long. The Edmonton Oilers, backed by Connor McDavid. It's his time. The Florida Panthers, his kryptonite, missed the playoffs due to injuries. Oh, wow. The Edmonton Oilers will beat the Anaheim Ducks and will win the Stanley Cup. I like that. I say they're going to win this first round, obviously. But I'm going with the Montreal Canadiens. it's our year i think three of my teams made it man the kings the dark knights and the canadians uh i'm just missing the devils dang but let's go boys that's okay so now we have one last thing people ask us to talk about other sports uh sometimes we mix in the ufc we obviously talk football uh baseball we kind of got on the bandwagon a little bit but this summer it's a world cup summer we might even be back i think it starts in 60 some odd days before but let's get your first prediction of who will win the world cup put that tin cap on and tell me what you're thinking uh there's the netherlands in there i actually have no idea what the fuck's going i know italy got knocked out so they'll be missing their third straight but canada's in there oh god Well, just with a straight guess, yo, let's go Holland.

3:08:32Davis Torgerson:You know what I'm saying? Netherlands. We got this hometown Amsterdam. Let's go. All right. And I think that football is finally coming home. England will get the championship they've been waiting for forever. I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I'll watch some football. That's for sure. Same, same, same. Let's go Cameroon if they made it too. All right. Like we always say, hoping to make this one of the shorter off seasons. We have the Buncham coming this summer. We got some scheduling to do. We hope to see everyone at the Buncham August 28th and 29th in Toronto. Thank you, everyone, for listening all season long.

3:09:12Shout out everyone behind the scenes. Jay Burrells, AS1, Scotty Booth, Morgan Smith, all of our sponsors. Go send us off, man.
