In short
The Bunt S24 Ep05 centers on Justin Dreisen’s skate career and personal stories, plus Toronto event hype for Bunt Jam (Toronto, Ontario) and a “Random Skater of the Week” segment. The episode also includes “Shoutout of the Week” recommendations (The Den app, Palace Detroit video) and several rapid-fire Q&A answers from Justin.
Guests (and backgrounds)
- Justin Dreisen: Skateboarder from Orange County (born in Hawaii; grew up in Orange/Anaheim). Started skating via Uncle Jay’s World Industries boards. Broke through via Huff trips and filming for Huff (including 001/002 videos). Later transitioned into DC’s program (Jimmy/“DC running the program” offered a spot). Now rides A6 and is on Swim Skateboards, part of a small but growing Swim squad.
- Random Skater of the Week: Jeremy Liabras (introduced as the segment’s guest; mentions a recent “glitched” part he’s proud of).
Key claims
- Skate videos shouldn’t be treated as disposable algorithm clips; The Den preserves full-length skate videos.
- Justin’s “Skate November G. Waiting to get these bands from DC” quote reflects a chaotic, no-plan moment during DC days (Feb 2018-ish).
- Justin is sober now (about two years) and says it’s improved his life and motivation to skate.
Notable examples
- Brother fights over shared clothes; a grandma/grandpa physically stopped one incident.
- Huff/road trip stories, including a rat falling from a balcony at a sketchy motel.
- Winning a “Kushko” game-of-skate event vs Moose (two years in a row).
- Getting scabies while traveling/filming in New York.
- Two bar kickouts: Footsies (marker caught during tagging) and Black Bar (marker “fuck” written on his forehead).
- Pit bull bite incident leading to hospital visit; he’s still not afraid of dogs.

2:52Davis Torgerson:on this week i'm just super excited for a change of scenery i think it's going to be a great location real nice for everyone that doesn't live in toronto and even people that live in toronto that probably haven't gone down specifically to where we're at it's just a beautiful view of the city i think it's going to be epic um you know just looking forward to good weather good times and uh you know i'm saying a little buzz courtesy of modello and fireball dude little little is a bit of a stretch might be a massive buzz going on all weekend long but yeah obviously massive shout out to all the sponsors everyone behind the scenes helping us put on the button jam you know Josh Clark, obviously, going above and beyond every time we do this.
3:40Basketball, looking forward to some three-on-three, looking forward to the brand-new three-point contest. The Skate Jam's going to be off the chains. And then, finally, the Bunt video is here, a super special project we've been able to work on with a lot of our friends as well. Can't wait, man.
3:57Davis Torgerson:Can't wait for this weekend. See y 'all there, man. You can get tickets at the door, but just make sure, if you want to make sure you have a seat, get your ticket right now you dig yeah and there's lots of seats it's not like dumb bat where there's limited seating you just want to make that clear there's almost 2 000 seats in the bleachers for people down there at 20 pulson street so make sure to you know get down there choose your seat early i'd sit at the top if i were y 'all you know that's i like that bird's eye view um all right man the show must go on You do the dirty work so we don't have to.
4:33It's the ghost shout out of the week. What is it?
4:37Davis Torgerson:Lately, skate videos are treated as disposable content. Algorithms decide what gets seen and full lengths are reduced to a couple of clips in a feed. That's not how skate videos are meant to be experienced. That's why the den was built. The den is the skate video app. It has a deep catalog of videos preserved the way filmers intended them to be seen. From the classics to the latest releases and even a couple of 24-hour live channels, The Den was made so when something special comes along, it stays front and center long after the feeds moved on. So if you care about skate videos like we do, get The Den for free on iPhone, Android, The Web, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV.
5:21Davis Torgerson:man i'm going back in the vault a little bit um because i think we may have mentioned it i can't remember specifically but i want to give it an official shout out of the week do it that's palace detroit you know i'm saying 313 uh just an incredible video i think it was seven years in the making um a lot of homies over there behind the scenes and on the team so we always support What palace is doing and I just love the feel of their videos man. It feels just like a It's almost like a local video feel Mm-hmm, but it's it's the London gang But then they're in Detroit and it's just it feels more like you're just watching a session then like You know I'm saying a team manager cracking the whip and trying to get the biggest baddest clips at every spot You know I'm saying you got you got man's like um who did the feeble i'm trying to remember danny brady danny brady feebled the dealership in the dealership rail which is not you know i'm saying like some epic clip but when i see it in the palace video i'm like oh hell yeah danny that was five yeah so i don't know they they've just cracked the code in terms of feel good projects to watch and always want to re-watch that shit But anytime there's new Kyle Wilson footage, you know I'm locked in.
6:43Davis Torgerson:So shout out to the whole squad. It was amazing. Absolutely, man. Yeah, I'm sure everyone's watched it, but this is your reminder to watch it again. All right. Watch that shit again. All right, Ghosts. There's nothing left to do, man. Short intro this week. Let's get this episode popping, dude. Justin Dreisen in the building. This is a good one. Let's go.
7:14All right. We have Justin Dreisen in the building today. What's cracking, man? What's good? Chilling. It's fucking hot over here. I'm just hanging out with my brother's house. Yeah, we finally hit the humid stage of our summer. It has finally come down. It's just too fucking hot everywhere, dude. But yo, Justin, I don't know if you listen to the pod, but we start every interview off the same. You got to hit us with your favorite skate and sports moment. All right. My favorite skate moment would probably be just getting introduced to like skating. I'd say, I don't know. I can't really. Yeah, probably getting my first board and stuff like that and starting to skate.
8:00and then sports moment i'd say when like the lakers won the championship and the dodgers won
8:09Davis Torgerson:the world series i think that was 2020 oh i like sports and shit i'm not like i don't keep up all crazy like you guys or i don't know i don't know like all the you know but yeah i went i went to downtown after like i don't know it was there's like a shit ton of people like and just partying and I don't know. It was cool. Yeah, it gets pretty wild, man. Yeah, but I guess that was my favorite moment. That's fire. Damn, that's the one Lakers championship I hate, but respect, I guess. That bubble shit. You ever play sports growing up? No. I like road pocket bikes. They're like tiny. It's like a mini version of a street bike with my brother for like A few years.
9:00There was like some, I don't know, we used to go to like all the events and races and shit like that. It was funny, but it was cool. I mean, I was definitely into it when I was younger.
9:13Davis Torgerson:Oh, yeah. Dope. So, Justin, man, take us back to the beginning. Where did you grow up and how did you get into skating? Grew up in like Orange, Orange County, but like the city of Orange. and um anaheim like orange and anaheim and that's where i basically spent most of my childhood skating i was originally born in hawaii like my mom's side is from there yeah sick so yeah i was born there and then i don't even think i was like one yet and my mom made the move here to orange county and uh had my brother so yeah ended up there in orange county oh yeah um But yeah, just skating around there, like Orange, Anaheim.
9:58That's where I started meeting people and having little homies throughout my childhood to skate with and stuff like that. Nice. That's dope. How'd you get introduced to skating? Where'd the first board come from or even the idea of skating? It was definitely my Uncle Jay. He got me and my brother Chris our first sit-ups. I don't remember what birthday it was, but there's a photo of us with them. It was a World Industries board. I think Webberley's on one side and Flame Boy, and they're shooting. The design was in the middle. I don't know what it was, but we had those boards. But maybe it was around, it might have been my fifth and his fourth birthday.
10:47Because we're a year apart. So, yeah, I think that that's when it started. That's an iconic board, man. I think Wet Willy's obviously shooting water and Flame Boy Fire, and it's like a sick graphic. What would you consider your first big break in the skate industry? I went to – or I took a couple trips. like before like I got on Huff initially but I went to like Belgium and like London with like Aaron, Aaron Brown like small wheels, Sammy and like we stayed at Eunice's house and in Belgium. I don't know I think that was like the start of me like going out the country and skating and then And I think the big break was Tyler giving me a chance and going out on Huff trips and starting filming for that.
11:47The first video was the 001 video. I had some stuff in, and then the 002, it was like I had a full part. But yeah, and that became being in the mag and stuff, I guess that counts as break. I don't know.
12:04Davis Torgerson:Nice, man. those videos were epic miss those um so we heard you and your brother have had multiple fights over the years man what's the story behind behind those beefs uh i don't know he would like share clothes i think it's like sharing clothes and shit like he'd wear like some shirt i wore like two days before or after and then i was just like bro i don't know it was like dumb shit and then just being so close like not getting along butting heads and just growing up i think but there was this one time like my my grandma my oma and my grandpa my opa they had to like hold us back one day like he because i was like you know just brother shit like ran down the stairs to the backyard just bickering and then my grandma's like holding me back my grandpa's like holding him back and he like swings and hits me like pretty hard and fuck i don't know i'm not gonna he had that one now i let him have that but that shit was like so funny like i remember my grandma like like walked me into my room and like sat down and it was just like it's just like one of it was just funny you know like that's crazy you shouldn't be fighting your brother i was like that yeah but i think as we got older and shit like it's it's all it's all love now but definitely like teen teen years and you know we had some scraps or some beef inevitable at that time yeah dude fucking boys are meant to fight i think man me and safea grew up only sisters he has two and i have one so we just had to fight each other a couple times couldn't fight our sisters so we just fought Mello so from the outside looking in those Huff Shoes trips looked absolutely legendary all star squad dropping epic tour vids what was it like traveling with that team it was dope I don't know all those guys are like solid like so much fun you know like Sully and Gottwig I want to two trips with them, like Dyke, Jake, Austin, Cromer, Bledsoe, fucking Plunkett.
14:25And Lexington. I had some good times. Saw some sick shit. Did some cool stuff. Like, yeah, those are some good times right there.
14:35Davis Torgerson:What's behind the quote, beer doesn't taste like anything to me? You said on that. Oh. Love trip. Yeah. We were in Atlanta. And I forget, I think I had a bit of some mushrooms and I was drinking. And then we went to some karaoke bar or something over there. But yeah, I was outside in the parking lot. I think Brandon Carroll filmed me say that. Or it might have been Brad. But the video clip is funny as hell. But yeah, I was just like, oh, beer doesn't taste like anything to me. I said some shit, but I was, yeah.
15:16tried but i felt like it didn't taste like anything to me no i felt like i can just drink when i was like on mushrooms or something you know just tastes like liquid or something i don't know water from water or something dude sometimes those light beers in the states do literally just taste like water natty light or coors light half the time it's literally just tastes like sparkling water once you get past like six or seven on the day it's there's zero taste to it so i back you up that's why we added that question it's a good one yeah from the outside looking in not knowing you it seemed like you kind of disappeared for a little bit after huff shoes made the transition uh what was going on with you at that time um i think yeah that transition and or like that ended and then um i was still like skating and stuff and you know like skating shoes random shoes like bands or like ponds i think i tried a few different like nikes and whatever um and then i got hit up by like jimmy also ford who's like running the dc like program at that time and you're like yo we have like a spot like if you you're interested like you know if you're down like we're down and then yeah from there started getting hooked up and I went on a couple trips and went to Miami went to Arizona randomly yeah and uh yeah that was it for that and then I mean during that time I don't know like really wasn't like I feel like I wasn't filming much at all.
17:00Just fucking watching shit fly by, kind of, and not doing my job as I was supposed to. Kind of just like, I don't know. Maybe I was lost or something, but yeah. I think that's what, throughout that time, I kind of was in some mix of I wasn't doing much. I'm glad I'm sober now.
17:27Davis Torgerson:How old were you at the time? Probably around like 23 to 26. Yeah, 23 to 26. Some prime years. It's got to kind of just be unmotivating to have such a good thing end in Huff. With such a solid squad, you guys are staying busy. And then to not have a perfect plan after that, it's got to be not easy, man. Who was on the DC team at that time? It was like Ish, Will, Thomas, Dristis. Funk was on the team still. Alexis, Evan Smith. Yeah. Yeah. There was a lot more probably. I don't know. In 2018, when Huff was transitioning from shoes to apparel, So your filmer and good homie Tyler Cici was still filming a lot, trying to get you out onto sessions.
18:31Davis Torgerson:And he said, he texted you, yo, you skating today? And you responded with skate November G waiting to get these bands from DC. And it was February at the time. What was the plan there? I don't think there was a plan. I think I just said that. It's fried, but. Who knows if I even skated, but yeah. Those were the DC days? Yeah, those were the days. Yeah.
19:05Skate November, G. That quote is insane, dude. Yeah. I have to use that. I don't know what I was thinking.
19:15Dude, what is your board sponsor history? And then just tell us how swim skateboards came about, because it seems like the perfect fit for you. It's like the mini Huff team, but a board brand. Yeah. Swims and shit. I think it started like, I don't know. Growing up, I would skate, like be skating contests and, you know, doing that all, that whole thing. And then there was like a smaller brand. It was called like Civilian Skateboards. It's kind of funny. They made like funny graphics. But the dude who ran it was like really nice and like believed in me and shit like that and supported me. So I guess from there, I was writing for them.
19:56Or actually, no. Before that, it was like this brand called Chaos Skateboards. Austin C. Holmes Company. Oh, shit. Legend. Yeah. It was like, yeah. So yeah, Jocelyn actually wrote for the brand too, which is insane. But yeah, it was like Chaos, then Civilian, and then I think I was just on Active Ride Shop. and then I think from there I started like being on Instagram and getting traction or whatever fucking I think I DM'd Quasi and was just like hey like you know I don't know what's up or blah blah blah and Chad like sent me boards to the shop Terrace who I ended up writing for and then I was like shop flow I guess like whenever they would order boards like they would throw me boards but like a good amount like five or six boards you know so they hooked me up pretty good and then I think I was just writing quasi boards up until like swim damn near yeah yeah that was a long time nice uh what
21:04Davis Torgerson:what's the swim story origin story with you and the brand I first heard about it like seeing like on Instagram, Terp and Dan doing some stuff. Then I started hanging out with Ethan a lot more because he moved down the street from me, so I started skating with him a lot more.
21:29I think Dan might have reached out to him or Kevin or they talked or something. I don't know. He was added to the squad. The squad was small then. And now, like, I'm on, Ryan Connors is on, Shane Farber, and then Marley Humphrey. It's still small, but.
21:51Davis Torgerson:Solid squad, though. Yeah. Yeah, I think I was, like, getting better and stuff. And, like, you know, like, after, I don't know, I just got hyped on skating again. And I wanted to, like, you know, skate a lot more. And then, I don't know. I think Ethan told Dan, like, yo, like, Justin's, like, down. He's like, oh, shit. like yeah he's on or and then like yeah that's how it kind of worked and i know dan since like for like being on trips and all that so it was like natural like it wasn't i didn't have like a phone call or something you know he was like yeah he's on so and then terp uh terp actually did call me he was like yo we're gonna like film this video like you know we want you to have like a part and i was like sick all right so i'm hyped on skating like let's do it so that's how that I went and then yeah the video came out sick motivations back yeah it got me motivated spark love that sparked so you guys did a behind the scenes doc style video on the swim road trip uh looks like the team all gets along really well having terp and plunkett running the team must be epic uh do you have a story from that road trip that wasn't in the dock I mean it was a good times all around um we stayed and stayed in some pretty like sketchy motels i'd say that but i'm sure it was fun stuff yeah what was the deal with the uh a rat ran out of one of the rooms and jumped off the balcony or something yeah there was like this bigger home girl she was like right when we got there she was outside screaming and shit like already like no rad at all no rat at all she was just screaming like blabbering blah blah or like whatever and then i don't know we all get check in our rooms and we're all like top floor and then we just hear like screaming like bloody murder like we you're like the door's so open because we just threw our shit like on the on the bed and like we went outside and it was her screaming we just saw a rat like run off the floor and just or like the top floor and just fall to the parking lot and like scattered just me and marley and ethan was like what the fuck and then she was like i need to get a new room.
23:58I need to get a new room. Like, what the fuck? I was just like, what? Alright, we're staying here. Let's go. I don't know. That's nasty. That's awesome, dude. It's a wicked hotel.
24:14Since you and everyone you know are heading to Toronto this weekend for the greatest event of the year, the Bunt Jam, it's time for one more lesson in TDOT wisdom. You already know what TDOT means. Toronto you know that bear means a lot and that being cheesed means being mad and that if someone tells you to allow it you should probably just leave it alone but this time we're not teaching you a new word we're bringing you something you'll actually want to know about during the bunt jam bunt and chpo are dropping the collaboration of the century and it's not one pair of sunglasses it's two two different frames one blunt chpo collab and both made for c and t dot in style so while you're learning how to talk like a local well make sure you look like one too more details coming at the bunt jam these words of toronto wisdom were brought to you by chpo the worldwide leader in sunglasses and watches and this is the sunglass right here the greatest sunglass available official sunglass of the bunt jam and the bunt chpo brand always doing it for the people dude what is up with the the 420 games of skate uh heard you had some crazy battles with moose man where he may have you know tried to pull out the double flips and shit on you but it wasn't working yeah i don't know that came about like i got a random like dm on instagram that was like it's like kushko it was like called the kushko and i was like what the fuck all right and then it just said like big game escape 500 prize like all like fucking ounce of weed or like two ounces for winter like all these like sponsors that like sponsor the event and i was like you invited and I was like shit the house I was living at the time was like a skate house and like no yeah my friend Mike was like dude I'll drive you like let's go it was like in sun it was in the valley it was like deep it was like like sun valley or some random place so I'm like dude all right let's go like you hop in the car like it was like a week away from when I saw this was like shit okay i gotta like practice flat or whatever and um yeah we end up going and like we get there and it's like a whole like fucking weed event just like just a bunch of stoner dude like i don't know just stoner vibes like i'm walking around like i was still smoking weed at the time but i and before i went there i was like i'm not gonna smoke because i think like i'll have like a better a chance if I'm not high.
27:00Yeah, for sure. So yeah, I sign in. There's like mad people. It was like probably 60 people that signed up. And then I'm walking and I see Moose and I'm like, oh shit, that's probably the guy who's the other dude here that probably is going to take it. Everyone else just looked like they skated, but I don't know. Sizing up the competition. I don't know. Anyone can skate do crazy shit on flat so so it went like brackets like game of skate style i'm skating like i passed the first round and then like second round third round but like it took so long because like the people who are running it was all like stoner so i like it was like sitting around i was like standing around and like walking around people are offering like dabs and like everyone's getting high so i'm like i swear we pull up like at 10 a.m and i didn't leave there until like 11 p.m it took that long so yeah like the finals like whatever like keeps going down i keep like fucking uh keep winning like keep going down the ladder and then yeah i eventually met up with moose and like the ground we're playing on was like kind of like shitty asphalt it wasn't like perfect um i don't know if i had like an advantage because maybe i played on the shittier side or whatever But, yeah, I don't know how I lasted or even came out on top.
28:28But I beat him and I won. Yeah. What did you get him on? Dude, I do not remember, to be honest. But, yeah, I beat him two years in a row. Oh, shit. So you went back the next year and it was the same thing? Yeah, it was the same thing. He was there. It was like the same thing over again. And I was like, dude, I'm like, what? like this is like replay of like last year but it was a good game he did like nollie double flip switch double flip like i don't i can't do that and like i somehow landed it oh shit like randomly i don't know like super like foot like together like probably going slow as hell but i did it dude that's fucking crazy that inner jock came out of you you couldn't take the l to moose you needed the the ounce or whatever at the skate house dude the whole the whole house was relying on you for that shit yeah i brought it home feed the fam feed the fam i ended up selling a bunch of that stuff too because it was like dabs and all this like oils and shit like i was like dude i don't i'm off that i don't know i don't want that dude a bunch of stoners running an event This is a 13-hour day for a game of skate tournament.
29:44It's awesome. I was like, let's go.

29:49Davis Torgerson:So how do you catch scabies in a skate house, man?
29:56It's scabies. Scabies. It's gnarly. Wait a minute. Did Safer just pronounce something incorrectly? It doesn't mean anything. Yeah, but it's whatever. That shit is gross, man. And, like, yeah, so my friend had a homie come stay. I'm not going to name drop or anything, but I guess he was just a dirty guy. But, yeah, I mean, at the house I was staying, I was, like, sleeping on a cot behind the fucking couch. And, like, people were sleeping on the couch. And, you know, and I guess, like, it spread. And, like, I guess he went to urgent care and got it. And around that time, like, finding out if I even had it or not, like, I was going.
30:38And me and my brother and my friend Tenny and my homie Mauds, like we all went to New York to like, and my friend Matt. We all went to New York to like film this like We Fried episode we used to film. So like we went out there for like two weeks. But yeah, unknowingly, like not knowing like if I had it or not, because I knew he just had it. So I'm like, fuck, if I start itching, like do I have it? Or now I'm like psyching myself out. And then we get there. it's like hot we went like in summer right when we got there like i was already starting to itch and shit and we're like skating all day and like i'm just like itchy as hell like skating like i don't know if anyone knows what that is but it's like a mite that like lives in your skin it's like disgusting but yeah anyways like skating throughout that whole time and like i like one of the days like i was just like bro like i gotta go to the urgent care like i can't so i just broke off i went there i showed him like because it was like mainly like on my legs i like showed on my legs and like oh yeah like this is you have this like take this they gave me like some some bottle you're supposed to like pour like all over your body and like let it sit for like 24 hours and that's like what i did so i think i missed out on a day so i just stayed at the airbnb like all day like you know freaking out kind of like bro this is gnarly like so pissed that I have this and I'm like on a trip or I just have it in general because I don't know why I don't wish that on anyone sounds brutal yeah it passes I guess and then I don't know they called the seven year is that's like the term they call that shit so maybe I don't know but it was gnarly but I think I filmed all the stuff I filmed there like I definitely was like I I had scabies I guess the whole time right now that's fucked yeah that's crazy man that it would be that uh contagious um yo you got to give us the story behind two infamous bar kickouts the first being uh footsies um footsies i was there they both have to do with like tagging i was there with some homies like i used to live down the street or no this is before i lived in la so i would come see my friend dj and he lives in Cypress Park so we all met up there I think I was like 21 at the time like I just turned 21 or maybe I was 22 yeah I just I went to the bathroom I think I caught like a tag or something and then some dude like what like walks in on me and like I don't know maybe I just put it in my pocket and he saw that and then he walks out and follows me and he grabs me he's like Come with me.
33:30I was like, why are you touching me? No, let me go. He's like, no. And he takes me to the bouncer. He's like, this guy, he has a marker. And I think when he grabbed me, the marker fell out of my pocket. And it rolled. It was fine. I remember it rolling. And I was like, shit. Well, yeah. I can't really lie and say I didn't do that. I did. The proof is there. So yeah, he takes me to the bouncer. and he's like, yo, we're calling the cops. I'm like, dude, I tagged the bar. Let me just kick me out. He's like, no, no, no. They're coming. They're coming. I'm like, dude, fucking let me go. And he's holding me by my collar.
34:12And I'm trying to break away. But this dude is huge, biggest bouncer ever. He's just holding me. And everyone's surrounding. And like, yo, let him go. We're leaving, you know? And I forget who said. I think maybe it was Motz. He was like, yo, he's 18. And he was holding me, and then he just dropped me. And then he dropped me, and then I was able to go. And then that whole time, there was another bouncer. He got on my friend DJ. And I don't know, because my friend DJ was trying to rip me from the other bouncer so we could just go. And they got in a scuffle, and that bouncer ended up flipping my friend DJ.
34:55my friend DJ he's like 6 '2 so he like flipped landed on his phone his phone broke I think he has the footage of him like up until like him flipping and then it just breaks so yeah I don't know I got out clean on that one but it was like fried and like some stupid young shit I was doing
35:20Davis Torgerson:were you actually 18 or was he lying to freak them out. Nah, he was lying. But I might have looked 18. I might have looked 18, like young, you know. That's smart. Smart one. But yeah, no. Smart tactic. He just dropped me. That is a good point. Because he had me up against a mailbox. Like, I cut, like, the back of my shoulder because he's, like, banging me. I was like, yo, let me go. What are you doing? And then he's like, yo, he's 18. He just dropped me. I was like, shit. That's genius. Later. And what about the one at Black Bar? The one at Black Bar, I was in Chinatown. And my friend, there was like a Chinatown like skate house, like Bunker Boys.
36:00It was like a bunch of my Ohio homies like live there. But yeah, I was over there one day and like Marius was in town because this dude, Andy Liccardi, he like films for Habitat. He's from Ohio too. So like, I think they're like just hanging out, like Marius in town. So he's hanging out with him. And then I think they're like, oh, let's go to Black Bar, like whatever. I was over there. So I was like, yeah, I'm down to go. It was like me, Andy, and then this homie, Burn, or my homie, too. So we all three caught an Uber over there. It was Black Hollywood. That's when that one was still open. And we get there.
36:38And, you know, it was chill, like drinking, like chilling. And then I go to the bathroom. Same shit. I was in the bathroom. I was taking a piss. and the whole bar is like black, like painted black. And I had like a black marker and I was peeing and I was like on the wall, you know, getting up, whatever. And then I just like, I just see like my, or like my hand just gets grabbed like this and I'm like, oh shit. And then like, I, he like turns me around and it's he, he grabs a marker and just, he like takes it to my forehead and he just writes like, fuck.
37:17yeah he writes fuck on my forehead and then he walks me out and he's like he's pissed off i mean i would be too like he owns a place um he walks me out but i don't think he knows like he knew i was like with marius and the other homies down like outside in the patio so i think he just was like wrote on my face, walked me out and like pushed me like, no, like get the fuck out of here. So I'm like, holy shit. I got like Sharpie on my face, like on my head. I walked towards them and they're like, yo, what? Like what's up with your face? And they're like, I'm like, dude, like I got to go. Like, and then he comes like, oh, like you're with them.
38:00Like, yeah, he needs to leave. And then Mario's like got me an Uber back to Chinatown. felt hella bad i was like holy shit like dude that's so intimidating teeth kerchart damn it's insane um but but were you pissing while you were doing this is that what you were saying no i think i finished peeing and then i was like that and then he grabbed me and like 360 me like looked me dead in the eyes and just like grabbed the marker and just wrote fuck probably tried to spell out fuck you but i think it was fucked i have a photo of it or burn does because he took a photo right after i was walking up to them but a funny story like i was over at grant yanzura's house for i believe it was his birthday but my friend is fen he's like turpin dan's like good homies i was just outside and he was outside and i was just talking because he was there and i was like small talk and then that story got brought up i explained it to him and then we're walking back in and he's like yo heath you remember him and i was just like oh yo like i didn't think he would like just put me on blast like that so i'm like oh yeah dude what up he's like well no like what what are you talking about he's like you remember him he tagged in your bar and then i was just like bro what and then like he was just like looking confused like huh like and i had to explain to him the whole story so like and he's like oh yeah like We had a lot of people tagging our bar.
39:31And then he's like, you're not one of those Shepdogs dudes, are you? And I was like, no, no, that's not me. And I was like, oh, random. But I was like, yeah, I did tag your bar. You tagged my face. Like, yeah, funny story. He's like, yeah, it's all good. And I was like, sick. I was like, thanks, man. Put me on blast. And then I was just like, what the fuck? That is fucking crazy.
39:55Davis Torgerson:That's terrifying. Oh, fuck. I wonder what the beef with the Shepdogs is, man. He's out there on the streets looking for him. Yo, is Ven the guy who skated in all, he usually wears all white? Yeah, he's in the all white. That's his kit. All white kit. That's awesome. He's a legend. Speaking of kits, you had a clip in an old part dressed exactly like a minion, a yellow shirt and overalls. Was that on purpose? Yeah, I think so. I think I put that on. Joe Face sent me like a Dickies box and overalls were in it or something. Like, you know, it was like pants and then overalls. And I'm like, oh, what?
40:36You know? And then I think I was wearing like a yellow quasi shirt. But yeah, that was the kit for that day. And that so happened to Ollie over that rail. It's kind of fried. But whatever. It's like a minion clip. Steez. That's so dope. we heard he got attacked by a pit bull dude that's pretty insane yeah it's a story there i was uh they do like the monster jam so like that like monster jam series like grave digger like flips and shit whatever but that happened in la and then uh yeah a group of the homies we all went to that and then uh we went back to my homie's house he has a big dog it wasn't like malicious or anything like but i like just playing with the dog and yeah jumped up kind of or yeah it happened so fast so i don't know so like jumped up i like grabbed my mouth and i'm like what the fuck and i'm pretty like wasted so i'm like oh spit me then i go to the sink and i'm like i put like water on it and i clean it i'm like holy shit like my lip is like gone and yeah i was like I don't know from that like yeah I went straight to the hospital after that um but yeah it was gnarly um I didn't start feeling I didn't feel like any real pain until I was sitting there but yeah they did a good job I mean from like if you saw the photo of like what it looked like to how it is now you'd be like holy shit but yeah that was uh that was gnarly I'm glad to be you know here so you know it could have been it could have went anyway but you know it's all good
42:24Davis Torgerson:that's terrifying too um yeah glad that wasn't worse are you scared of uh pit bulls now or what no my brother has a pit bull like i love dogs like doesn't change that but maybe i yeah maybe i didn't really know this dog too well you know to be doing any of that you know but i love dogs and yeah, it stays the same. Nice. I have a pit bull at home too. It's not mine, it's my roommates, but it's a sweetheart. Yeah, I love dogs, you know. Nice. So you're sober now, two years. Massive congrats on that. Was there a moment where you knew you had to change up or what was behind the decision? I think I got, I don't know, I think it was just time.
43:14but I didn't know it was time until like it was time. Yeah, I think I got like sick and then yeah, I went over to my family's house and, you know, got better there. My uncle and like my family like support me and shit. They want like to see the best, you know, and like always, yeah, I don't know. I just was like, dude, I got to stop. Like party's done. I don't know how much longer I can stay up in kitchens and shit until like 6 a.m., you know? Like, dad gets old. But, yeah. But I feel a lot better now, you know? Skating a lot more and, like, it's good, you know? It's good. For sure. That's great, man.
44:01That's wicked, man. Congrats, dude. Massive accomplishment. Thanks. Jeez. what's the deal with jake anderson roasting you about a nollie he'll nose or uh sorry nollie he'll nose manny you know he roasted me nollie he'll nose manny so supposedly you did a huff demo years ago at active and and you went and you rolled into the park and the first thing you tried was uh nollie he'll nose manny yeah no i'd probably try like nollie he'll nose ground yeah because I don't think at the time I was involved or on or whatever but I remember the demo. I was like Godwick him. They came out to the active park and the IE and did a demo.
44:46I was probably trying to show out or some bullshit. Like trying the hardest trick or something. But Jake is cool. He's cool. He probably did roast me. I was probably like sitting there like on about to drop in he's probably saying some shit to me uh you know the asshole or something i don't know but i fucking tuned it up maybe i don't remember
45:15Davis Torgerson:okay he would though i love that if you just came in hot no warm-up just like let me fucking show these dudes what's up with a nollie heel nose grind out the gate gang that's awesome so yo you're on a6 now congrats wicked home for you a good friend of ours and host of random skater davis torgerson is the tm um how's he doing at his job dude we need like a first hand um i don't i don't think i've linked with him since i've been on but i mean i talk with him all the time he's he's cool it's cool as fuck i don't know i want to skate with him he's so good at skating but he says he doesn't skate that much anymore but i know if i can he makes that very clear i know i know he can skate he's capping i know he's good as hell so he probably can do everything he's already done like still he's still got it man cap lord uh davis we're waiting for some clips bro um so asics video coming out next year or so uh how's filming for that coming along man it's good um yeah i went tost louis a month ago with um yeah tight squad like mark zander came which is dope jay cortez um ben tenner it was tight um it was sick it was my first time being in the mid midwest um the spots were like board eaters but everything looks so cool that I come back here I'm like holy shit so tough out here to skate or like I don't know there's so much cool shit to skate like in other places I feel like especially over there we're skating like bandos that like a big tornado hit I guess like two years ago so that was cool I mean that sucks you know all those homes that got destroyed but it kind of opened up some stuff people were there were like saying like oh this is like skatable now you know So we checked out some cool shit.
47:26Davis Torgerson:Skaters always take advantage of the crazy situations, man. COVID, no security at so many spots. It looked like New York was popping during those days. Yeah, man. Hyped to see your part. I'm excited. So ASIC's video, what else is up with you, man? What's next for Justin? Just keep grinding. I don't know. Keep skating, trying to work on this part. make it I want to be hyped on it like your worst critic but I don't know there's always something else to get I don't know, skating is exciting for me now so I'm just trying to do that I don't know, bike around exercise, eat well you know, shit like that gets me hyped Love it man, on the right track let's see this part Ben Tanner too, shout out looking forward to his clips

49:39Davis Torgerson:and uh we'll be done done you ready let's go favorite skater danny garcia favorite video I got It's Official when I was younger. So probably there. Delmo Jr. Hell yeah. Favorite video part. Delmo Jr. It's Official. That's a sick pick, man. Favorite style. Brad Cromer. Antoine. Emile. Emile has a sick style. I like his style. Emile Laurent. That's three. Can I only have one? Oh, that's cool. Love that. Diverse. Which skater had the biggest influence on the way you skate? Shit. I'm stumped, geez. Who's, like, trick selection did you like growing up that you do kind of skate, like, a little bit? I like Guy Mariano's trick selection.
50:35He does some sick shit.
50:37Davis Torgerson:Perfect answer. Most talented skateboarder on planet Earth? Antonio. Sick. That switch flip back and I was one in PR. It was fucking crazy. favorite trick heel flip hardest trick for you inward heel most illegal trick yeah willy grind or like a big spin back disaster on transition maybe yeah so random that is what's your beef with that yo I don't know I used to do the willy grind because it was fun but I don't know that trick's whack as hell what's wrong with big spin back disaster I don't know I just I like going to pivot is cool. Fuck. Might be a hater on that one. I don't know. That's a sick one to hate on.
51:26Davis Torgerson:Favorite clip you've ever gotten? I did a back 180, fakie 5-0, fakie flip at this riverside drop ledge. It's like this white one. Like the P-Rod skates it, Torrey Puddle skate it. but it's like a loading dock ledge with like angle iron has like a drop off but I did that hyped on that one what's the gnarliest trick you've ever witnessed when I was in Barcelona Jake Anderson did front 360 heel flip, the Bezos bump that was crazy I know Sully said that because I had to get in tune to the questions but yeah that was epic, that was insane to see firsthand, like being there, like what? You know? But I have another one too.
52:19My friend Alex Tennyson Tenney, he did this like monster front board. It's coming out soon. It's crazy. I was there for that too. It was wild to win this.
52:31Davis Torgerson:How hard did Jake party after the front three heel? Shit, we partied. Yeah, I don't know. He partied, I partied. We all partied. Yeah. That was crazy. That's like a monumental clip at a legendary spot. It's so good too. Yeah. No tick. What's the one trick that got away? There was like this like wall ride in Uptown Whittier. It was like at this bank. You had to like hop a fence. I like found it. It's like not, I don't think anyone knows about it, but keep that low. I don't know. But I tried to, I tried to wall ride it, but I didn't, I think I did it, but I did it sketchy. but like i don't know i like thought to myself like oh like jake johnson in minefield like how he wall rides and he goes to the ground but it's like epic i like thought i was like doing that it was a lot smaller and like yeah but i just felt like damn like that was sick you know like how he did it like go to the ground so sick i didn't land i mean i guess i landed but maybe i'll go back and try to do it but like it was like brick wall so like it made me feel cool like i felt cool on the wall i don't fucking know i get that man you still got time let's go uh what's the biggest bunt you've ever witnessed maybe being younger and like yo like i'm like i'm gonna go do this you know here there like my other homie nick would like take us to spots and like we wouldn't like do shit like we were saying or like and he's fucking driving all around orange county and like we're just like yeah like i'm down and try this and he's like all and then like we go there and like no one does shit or something like i guess that's a bunt but your whole crew is just bunting yeah what's the last new trick you learned um pressure flip no slide i did that one but i did have a skate park but i want to like do it in the street somewhere there's like a spot for it i'll try it we'll see i don't know hell yeah maybe in a line It'd be cool in the line.
54:37Davis Torgerson:Let's see it. What's more illegal, pressure flip, no slide, or big spin back disaster? I don't know. I know people hate on the pressure flip, but I like the pressure flip. Ellington brought them back, man. They're cool again. He really did. Dream job after skating? Maybe go to trade school or something. Find a trade I can be good at or start doing. Favorite local brand? Ten Hardware. It's a Tenny's brand. My friend Alex Tennyson. But yeah, it's a brand right there. Nice. So shout out favorite local skater? Marley Humphrey. Shout out Marley. Dude, I just discovered that guy. He's fucking incredible.
55:26Yeah, he's insane to watch in person too. It's crazy.
55:30Davis Torgerson:Where's this guy been, man? What's the one sponsor you regret riding for? um i think i wrote for circa but i think it was like a flow but i was too young so i thought as i got older i was like damn that shit was white but i was not even involved i wasn't involved in it so it's like that's maybe the wackest thing i wrote for yeah i mean circa was epic back in the day but probably when you wrote yeah it was dust when it first came out it was fucking unstoppable Favorite teammate ever Daiki Hoshino Hell yeah Legend Worst teammate ever He's legend Maybe Austin Sehome I don't know Because he was my TM But I don't know Random but I can see that Just the way he handled Coming second at Tampa I don't know if that's someone I would want to skate with worst company Edgelord.
56:32Davis Torgerson:Oh, oh. Coming at our boys down in Miami. No love lost there. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's all I can think of. Worst trend? Chains. Chains and chain wallets. Accessory stuff, I think, is kind of out. Worst style? Ed Templeton Yo What the My G's crazy That's wicked Good for you man Good for you Dude is there more to this What's the deal with you and Ed I don't know I just don't like his style I don't like his style That's awesome Holy shit That's it. It's just purely off the skates deep. That's how you're supposed to answer that question, man. Most people, there's way too much of a thought process in that question.
57:38That is the purest answer we've ever gotten, dude. I respect that.
57:44Davis Torgerson:That was buck wild, man.
57:48Davis Torgerson:Who's the last person you want on the sesh? like maybe like when someone brings like the homie but he's like a random homie and they're like trying something and you're like who's this homie that's here and I make throws you off or something you're like what the fuck who are you maybe that one that you never yeah that's true I agree with that one and I also hate when I'm that homie like unintentionally I'm not trying to like pull it like you know what I mean I feel like everyone's been that dude maybe once where you just end up on a session and you're like, fuck, what am I doing here? I mean, that's definitely happened to me.
58:32You know? Yo.
58:35Davis Torgerson:Bro, you just went nuclear. You shocked the world. I've still taken back. And then he hit chains. We're both wearing chains. No fucks given. And then he hit it. You got all sorts of accessories on. You got the bracelet, the rings, Then he hit Ed Templeton from the top rope. Goddamn. We don't filter around here. You want to come at accessories and Ed Templeton and Edgelord, where all our homies ride for? Do you, brother. Respect it. You know, Justin, thank you so much for coming on the pod. Big fans of yours over here, man. Can't wait for the A6 video. And just appreciate your time coming through, dog.
59:19Yeah, dog. No doubt. Thank you guys. I appreciate it. Hell yeah, G. Respect. Come on.
59:34Welcome back to Random Skater of the Week, the fastest growing segment on YouTube, hosted by our good friend Davis Torgerson and brought to you by Mob Grip, the number one choice of professional skateboarders worldwide. and Sefa the reason simple man it's the grippiest obviously no contest for this week Jeremy Liabras in the building what's cracking man what's up bros straight chilling uh before
1:00:03Davis Torgerson:we get into it glitched I think we've been off for a couple months probably my favorite part that I watched the most in the last couple months so shout out to you maybe tell us a bit about putting that one together you know what i'm saying that was a good part um thank you i appreciate that it's been skating bro it's about like a year and a half skating just uh just wanted to put it out i don't know it's nice to be able to just like work on something with uh me and my homie phil and we had full creative control over it and just wanted to do something completely different who chose the song so i was gonna say so good we uh we were talking to the homie danny g he does uh beats for like a lot of the michigan heads and i was originally just gonna skate to like a couple of his beats but then we uh kind of just shot our shot and then uh he got us in contact with rio's manager and so bill like kind of chose the song and i was down and he ended up uh letting us use it yeah it was a nice mix-up for you man get some yeah some rap popping yeah i always wanted to skate to at least one rap song in my career well and plus the rights are 90 of the battle it's one thing to choose a song it's another thing to be able to put it on youtube without it getting taken down so yeah once you cross that bridge but yeah he was down we had to send him the project so he could improve it that's sick really was he stoked just i mean i mean it was just his manager i don't i don't know if rio actually fucking watch it.
1:01:34That'd be swag that we did.
1:01:36Davis Torgerson:You saw that wall ride nollie backside flip. He's like, yeah, green light, baby. Jeremy, what would you rank your level of skate nerd dism out of 10? Probably like five. Anything before like 2000s is going to be pretty minimal. Well, we'll see. We'll see what's in the chamber for you. It just takes that one clue, man. Just takes one clue. Anything can happen, dude. But I don't know. I think you're somewhat familiar, but if anyone's watching that's not, I'm going to just be listing off clues to one random skater. These three knuckleheads get three guesses. They can blurt them out at any time. They can ask questions, but the first to guess who the skater is wins a prize that shall be mentioned later.
1:02:31Might have to talk to him. it's a couple sheets of grip I just got a box I'm chilling we got all sorts of grip tape we're swimming in it over here thanks mob yeah
1:02:46okay so all sound good should I do it let's fucking do this the usual start of previous teammates for this skater include Nyjah Houston Devin Calloway and Jake Anderson the fuck? yeah right it's an eclectic mix huh? boards and shoes this is boards and shoes I didn't go fancy I'm keeping it clean this season alright boards and shoes who was the middle one again? Devin Calloway Devin Calloway interesting yeah i thought it was divine you know well you need help dude he was once one of my previous teammates so i guess i should know that um so was that was that for the shoe company or board company or do we not get that could you're not gonna get that but the caveat is that it's either board or shoe for okay it doesn't have to be the same obviously not the same company but But between board and shoe, those are some teammates of the past, perhaps the present.
1:04:05We don't know yet. In a local shop video, the skater shared a part with Joe Hargrave. Don't know who that is. No, but if Joe Hargrave is watching, he just won. He just won. The grip tape.
1:04:28Okay, okay. Although this skater never officially skated for Vans, they cite the half cab as the best skate shoe of all time.
1:04:42Next hint, please. Okay. I like this guy. Straight to the point. You don't want to take a guess right now? Damn. I got nothing. Okay. this skater had a part in a video that also came with a bonus instructional dvd
1:05:08it's kind of interesting no sure you say so well i say so i don't even have a name coming to my head at all okay don't worry it's building um this skater had the cover of a magazine doing a heel flip over a rail into a bank oh for fuck's sakes what mag um fuck it I'll just say it it was the skateboard mag didn't help yeah that's why I was thinking that's why I should just say it um Do you guys want to vamp for a sec? Or do you want the next one? I feel like I've been going really quickly lately. And so I wanted to make sure. Oh, don't fucking start helping Safeo. The complaints are coming from you.
1:06:11All right. This skater had a pro model shoe that came in both low and mid-top versions. Oh, that's...
1:06:20Davis Torgerson:I'm going to kill you, man. What kind of clue is that? cool though what what do you mean you don't like that clue are you worried someone's gonna get it before you i do um you know what yeah we'll go here next this skater has had a part in a trans video.
1:06:48So. That doesn't do anything. Okay. Well, sometimes if you're like going through a list of names, you can exclude some. Yeah. What? Okay. What shoe company was it? No, a trick. Wait. Oh, the previous TV is going back. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's either board or shoe. So, what shoe company did he have the mid and low? Oh, I see. remind me that in like five clues okay too early too early yeah good question good question um this is usually say's territory we're getting into but the skater shared a part with marius savannah
1:07:39Davis Torgerson:wes kramer
1:07:44not west
1:07:50did we already have west like i'm like we have done west before anytime there's a guess you're like that's it yeah that's the one yeah that was a good guess though it was a good guess i mean obviously with the gov um but divine it's the one it's not making any sense he's the wild card in this huh but he could pay off big time when you put that puzzle piece together it will make sense um in the very first battle at the barracks that they ever did in the first round the skater played pj lad
1:08:33i know fuck that's fucking random that's pretty random i'm sorry
1:08:44who knows maybe there's like three people that got it off that clue i don't know probably not
1:08:52okay we're gonna move along this skater filmed apart entirely at one plaza
1:09:05it's bobby warst i was literally thinking of that one too not bobby oh that's a good guess
1:09:20that's a pretty sick feat to do now i'm trying to trying to think of like plaza parts
1:09:31right can't be that fucking many or perhaps everyone's done it what have you you haven't done it yet the hell i need i need to go everywhere just film one part
1:09:48yeah it is it is honestly such you must be you have to be a fucking sick skater to be able to do that um speaking of six skater i don't know why this is a clue but it's kind of it is this skater did a front side board slide nollie back heel out of a picnic table what
1:10:21did that help or just confuse i'm just even more confused yeah good um all right this one's interesting this this skater skated for element twigs austin gillette
1:10:46tyler bledsoe it is tyler bledsoe yeah three in a row yeah he does have three in a row right now holy shit that's what's up glad seven didn't win hell yes i shouldn't have given away the element twigs one what shoe did he have he had an etnies shoe god sponsor with devin or divine jake anderson was huff huff footwear uh nija was element oh okay yeah i forgot how did shoes jake was on huff footwear i was like stuck thinking of like dc and nike riders yeah yeah i was going to think about dc front board nollie back heel i was gonna guess jesus yeah it's it was a random move that i was watching his parts and i was like That's not a Tyler move.
1:11:35And it was on a table, so it seemed like a good enough clue. That's good. That's good. Joe Hargraves. What was the plaza? Magic Five in Portland. It's like... Oh, yeah. There's that one little circle planner ledge that you can kind of pop out of. Yeah, small stairs. Small stairs. Small stairs. Yeah. Some ledges. It was like a quasi thing. Transyl video was hallelujah. Shared a part with Marius in 411 14.1. When they just started that like new version, you know? Never even seen that. 14. I ain't never seen any of the decimal points. Dude, there were some good ones. I remember being a kid. Weager at a part in one of those that I was hyped on.
1:12:17Anyways. Yeah, T-Blood. It was T-Blood.
1:12:21Davis Torgerson:That was good. No clue. That was great. That was great. I should have saved the Element Twigs one for later, I guess. You don't like build it in an order. You just have the questions and then you like freestyle. style see how it goes no i do i do build it in an order and then i do see how it goes and i do move some some of some of them around at a certain point yeah if you like think they're gonna get it on the next one you'll switch it up yeah yeah or if i feel like everyone's really lost which i kind of did for this one yeah there are some clues that i just think are very noteworthy and i think skating for element twigs is pretty like whoa what the hell that's like pretty fucking short on the list yeah so i moved that up to think like okay if there's if they're this lost maybe i can squeeze this like really fun fact in there but i guess i couldn't i don't know anybody else who rode for element twigs other than him nijia colin provost did um did austin delight ride for him or my tripping he was termite huh yeah yeah he was termite i was tripping dude what a sick name how sick was it that there was twigs termite and then there was the brand 16 that was like a 16 and under like imagine one of those companies coming out now dude so many legends came out of those cans yeah and imagine if that was like right now people would be like what the fuck because skaters are old but whatever it is an aging thing yeah i mean the majority is probably a bit more age, but there's still some youth out there.
1:13:49Davis Torgerson:Jeremy, what's next for you, bro? What are you saying now? I saw you skating some new balances the other day. Yes, sir. What's happening? Not much. Just trying to skate, man. Trying to make something happen. Let's go. You're making it happen. Glitch 2.0. Need that. Yeah, I think I'm going to try to have a little toy machine part come out towards the end of the year. Sick. And then it's about it. Towards the end of the year. yeah pretty soon yeah nice we'll see how that goes any sick travel um nothing crazy i think just like uh we're going to seattle next month and i think we might go on like a slappy europe trip like at the towards the end of the year maybe i i know i don't know budget huh yeah sinclair flying or what's going on he's not coming with us that's fucked up damn that's crazy we'll see this is all this hearsay right now he hasn't he hasn't called me and told me shit well it's dope when you put it in this uh when you put it on the internet now the pressure's on uh on mike to make it happen it's basically yeah that's happening love that hell yeah dude big mike hop on that plane i dare you come on dude they have dude such good food over there you'll be hyped he's the pickiest eater i know they got fried shit for days dude let's go well damn thank you jeremy that was fun dude yeah thank you guys for hitting me up appreciate it talk to you again yeah it's good to see you guys hope you guys have fun at the fucking bun jam yo send us two clips for the video i would have if you filmed a full part
1:15:31Davis Torgerson:i need i need clips in my part to make it full yeah i'm saying send some shit i need i need clip I need singular clip. I'll see what I can do. I bug the guests every week. Davis, where are you at, man? What the fuck your clip said? I tried a little bit. I haven't tried that much. What the fuck is that, dude? You've got mail. Welcome back to the post office. Absolutely packed in box this week. We're going to try and rapid fire these. Ghost, who we got up first. All right, sparking it off with Riley Zimmer. Waghwan Bunters. I got a question for y 'all coming from one aging skater to another. To start things off, I guess you could say I'm haunted by a 10-stair rail I've never hit that was up the street from the house I grew up in.
1:16:19Davis Torgerson:I always felt my destiny awaited from the moment I rolled away from that 50 and the rest of my life would begin anew from that moment onwards. I'm 31 now and feel like I'm running out of time to take what's mine. Recently, I've been feeling unstoppable on the board and better than ever. I had knee injuries and party related downfalls all throughout my 20s. So it's not hard to see that I'm athletically in better shape than I once was. My question is this. It feels like it's a fine line between pushing oneself through the fear wall and enjoying oneself, i.e. having fun. I know having fun is key to performing well, being relaxed and all that.
1:16:59Davis Torgerson:and I do want to enjoy skating but why does it feel like I'm going into battle every time I set up some sort of expectation of or gnarly goal how can I keep the gnar blade sharp keep progressing and still keep it casual while skating consistently looking towards looking forward to seeing y 'all at bun jam one jam attendee I like that shit man this is tough and i've i've felt this this summer you know trying to film tricks for the video and not skating the local skate park as much as is a very different type of skating like i truly miss going to the skate park and landing tricks because there's been weeks on end where i maybe landed like one trick other than like a couple warm-up things i mean it's just got to be balanced but i truly can't wait to get back to the skate park man i vowed to myself this summer that i would not go to the skate park and only try to skate street for this video and it has been a brutal brutal reality of how hard skating is yeah that's a crazy vow um i don't really know i mean you're kind of like answering your own questions you already know what to do i think maybe you just came here for some support i guess but just go 50 the rail man i don't know what the hell what do you want us to say like he wants a trick man like what is gonna how's it gonna be done for him it's not yeah like it's you it's you in the rail go 50 a park rail a few times maybe get a few homies um maybe get someone that i don't know if you're like me you want to prove someone wrong get like a doubter.
1:18:47Davis Torgerson:That's all I needed for him to do that. And it became personal with me. Okay, I like that. To like say you can't do it or something, get that extra motivation or I don't know. There's no way around the fear. You just got to go through it. You only got to do it once. You know, it's not like forever. 31 is still young these days too. Dude, that was the part that I was like, aging skater, bro. You're not close to aging yet. But when we were 31, we were saying that too. When you listen back, we've been saying we're old since year one. When I was 28, you were 29. Now I actually feel old. 31 is young, dude.
1:19:33You're fine, man. Make the 50 happen. Make us proud.
1:19:38Davis Torgerson:Yeah, seriously. Just please report back. Use this as pressure. we have no sympathy for you whatsoever if you want to know what it feels like to ride away from it and your life's going to start anew just go 50 the rail it's not that big of a deal send us the clip I like it 10's a big rail what's the biggest rail you did that front 5-0 like just straight stair count yeah cause you did some long ones and some kinked ones but like the biggest actual set how many stairs was u of t that i know slid which one's that the the u of t one that's been gone for a long time the big blue one no the in environment morgan 5-0'd it we were all there the crew went crazy was that like an 11 or 12 or something i don't remember that rail morgan 5-0'd Aiden 5180'd it and back 50'd it.
1:20:37Davis Torgerson:Oh, the McCrank and Costin's set? No, they didn't skate that one, but that... McCrank did, right? Area, no. Oh, yeah, that's right. The other side. Maybe that one. That was like a skate park rail. That was a long rail, though. Yeah. You no-slid that thing. Mm-hmm. How big was the 5-0? I can't remember. I think that's an 11 or 12. that one was huge though like big yeah I wasn't like yeah I never hit like a crazy like 15 or anything long yeah alright anyways yeah do the 50 man alright next up we've got a voice note from Beef let's take a listen what's up bun holes this is Beef out in Texas I hit my 30s and have been skating more transition and less street just the way that it goes i just wanted to know what some of y 'all's favorite mini ramp tricks and alternatively what's some low impact skating that y 'all have enjoyed more later in your skate careers appreciate y 'all shout out to four down out in dfw peace
1:21:54Davis Torgerson:what's the question there the question was some of your favorite transition tricks and then what is some low impact skating you've uh started to enjoy as you've gotten older transition tricks 5-0 fakie blunt fakie like 5-0 grinds to fakie
1:22:24Davis Torgerson:uh yeah probably the best feeling too that i like dude i'll never forget like an iconic transition trick from growing up obviously spend a lot of hours at the shred mini you know when the street course in the flat ground would get too busy we'd be forced to go to the mini ramp and the legend folks would always do the big nollie pop the front five oh and that one always It's just stuck in my head. Legendary T-Dot, man. Not only 5-0. Mitch Barrett's back Smith stalls. Also a legendary transition trick. Yeah. And Jimbo's naked blunt fakie. Oh, hell no. Didn't need that reminder. The back Smith stall is actually like the Mitch stall now.
1:23:09Davis Torgerson:We could just call it that. We were judging. Me and Johnny Purcell were judging some, like, the kids do the canada skate things and there's a surprising amount of kids doing backsmith stalls but every time we just call it mitch mitch stall do you guys when you judge those things are you all on a call together or you watch them separately uh we've done it all together but now we do it separately but me and johnny did it together it's more fun that way yeah that's cool and then uh low impact skating i enjoy skating flat banks man no impact at all it's just a flat ground trick on a slanted bank it's great yeah ledges for me always my uh first draw at any skate park is just a ledge all right next up we got an email from norby guerrero um sour can we just take a minute to appreciate the beauty of Sour Solution 2.
1:24:13Davis Torgerson:Crazy to think it's been almost eight years since that video came out. I have that video on repeat every day. Who's your guys' favorite part? Also, do you guys see Gustav skating polarboards now? Love you guys. Stale. Oh, shit. Is that a true rumor? Something up with Sour?
1:24:35Davis Torgerson:Say it ain't so. I have no idea. I feel like Gustav is sour anytime you finish a sour video it says filmed and edited by Gustav yeah um but we don't know about that so I mean maybe we'll look into it after this but that's that's wild if true and but you know sometimes people just skate their homies boards like that's not nothing new too so can't speculate too hard on or the guy's on a trip breaks his board needs something yeah that's what i mean like you just we've seen you know we've seen that a lot over the years but where there's smoke there's fire sometimes but yeah sour 2 all-time great video i'll watch that any day of the week my favorite part is gustav's part uh to the point where i have that song on my liked songs on spotify all right next up we've got an email from justin gowan hey bunt fam first off how are you going to make division predictions and not know who won last season's nfc division chicago won the north 2025 and they're out for blood this year but i also agree even as bears fans i can do without the cheesy locker room videos did we not say that they won i think i just couldn't remember off the top of my head who won last year he took a he took exception to that.
1:26:01Yeah. All right. Anyways, my question is about getting older and picking fits. As I age, I'm finding myself walking a line between wanting to be comfortable, but not looking like a slob. I don't want to be the Steve Buscemi meme, trying to look like a youngster, but I also don't want to look like an old man. So I'd like to know if you guys have ever faced the same situation and what your fashion influences might be. Do you ever make a conscious effort to piece together the right kit or is it just second nature at this point? Where are not whack places for a grown man to shop for clothes? Love the show.
1:26:40Justin G.
1:26:43Davis Torgerson:Bro, don't kill me. My guy said Steve Buscemi. How do you say it? Steve Buscemi. That's the same thing, dude. Steve Buscemi you know that you know that meme it's amazing yeah he's got the skateboard and the backwards hat that is fire he's like hello my fellow children or something
1:27:11Davis Torgerson:um fuck i was laughing at that i wasn't paying attention to the question kids and being comfortable and shit yeah i think donno are very different i feel like yeah but we've in this regard still definitely i'm very conscious of what i'm wearing but i feel like i've gotten more comfortable lately like i wear sweat shorts way too often but whatever fashion influences i can't say that i have any that come to mind i'm a very much i'm wearing sweatpants right now and a t-shirt that i find comfortable so i wear it too much like that's just me i have many t-shirts in my wardrobe that i've had since like high school actually not many i have a handful that i still wear from high school i'm very much don't care luckily enough to get clothes from a lot of dope friends in the industry so sometimes i have a nice t-shirt or something but for the most part i'm wearing whatever the fuck and i don't really care so maybe somewhere in between me and donald's a nice balance not caring enough and caring a lot yeah i wish i didn't care it's a mental illness man yeah waste of time it's a waste of money a lot of the time i wish we could just go back to the good old days and just wear white t-shirts and rock aware jeans man yeah you don't want to look like us but i mean i extra don't care in my neighborhood i live in like a fucking quiet family neighborhood where you don't have to dress up to go outside so you see me walking around here might be looking like a slob at times but again just slobs not possible don't really care i worry about is dressing maybe a little bit young for my age you know but then i'm like i don't want to be in like fucking khakis and a polo all the time or like what is an older man supposed to wear like there's no rules to this shit but i get it like i showed up to a party like a family party this summer and i had like long sweatshorts on and my wife bridget was like dressed up nice and she's like are you kidding me with the fucking sweatshorts and i'm like i didn't know what kind of party this was you know so i get it yeah just do your thing man as long as you feel good when you walk out the door that's it man you're chilling all right next up we got an email from michael odom yo bump boys how's it going mike from providence rhode island tapping in once again.
1:30:01Davis Torgerson:It's well known that skating with better skaters is a fast track to improving. Maybe it's their mental, physical approach. Maybe it's their aura or fearlessness. Now that you've both been around a wide selection of pros, I'd like to reframe the classic bunt question. Which in-person skater has made the biggest influence on your skating? Maybe watching them made you less afraid to try certain tricks or change the way you approach skating in general. If you're feeling froggy, this could even extend to skate habits and more general advice. As always, shout out Civil Skate Shop. Punch and about to be a movie still.
1:30:42Davis Torgerson:Why did you not try to say his whole name?
1:30:49Where's his whole name? Michael Odom? It says Odomosu.
1:30:57Davis Torgerson:Oh, I can't see it. Oh, dude, on my phone, it didn't actually show. My bad. Michael Otis. I could show you what the screen looked like. It literally just cut it at Odom. Oh, okay. Yeah, it just put a dot there. Because, you know, I have my phone with massive font. Ah. Sometimes it fucks shit up. There wasn't enough room. Yeah. That's what happened with me and Steve Buscemi. I couldn't read the whole thing. I got a couple of dots there. Who's scared of the legend? dude no one can influence my skate anymore it's too far gone dude too old to like but there are people we've been around in recent years that have been like very impressive to watch obviously like JP Souza is like a very skilled technician but his process is wild he likes to visualize things there's a lot of talking um and then man i think everyone in the video because we've spent a lot of time with them obviously like jesse tanner jake carlos carlos is fucking incredible but malto man that guy still got it dude and that is probably been the most like impressive thing he could still jump he's Still willing to huck.
1:32:20Just still love skating. Yeah.
1:32:25Davis Torgerson:I feel the same way. The witch skater had the biggest influence in person. That's not going to be something from the last 10 years. We've already shaped the skaters. We've already been shaped. And for me, it was in person. Got to be Morgan Smith. um i used to be more militant with my skating i gotta skate flat every day i gotta do this be robotic that was from morgan and i feel like it definitely helped with the foundation of my skating um but other than that and then for i feel like trick selection i feel like grant patterson had an impact he was just i mean i watched all his video parts religiously but then when he would come to town too you see it in person you're just like wow like makes you want to skate nollie a lot for sure just like nollie crook nollie front board nollie board all nollie flip crook all that kind of stuff just seeing that in person probably made me want to skate like him for sure but i'd say morgan's the biggest one and then these days who's maybe influenced me a bit
1:33:37Davis Torgerson:that's that's tough to say i'd say carlos off the board just the way he treats his body the man's got three kids he wants to extend that career and be as healthy as possible and you know just he's a true professional so like i would aspire to be more like carlos you know as far as on the board of course but everything off the board so that you're ready when you do step on your board. Seeing him behind the scenes, he's always doing some sort of physio in between spots or at the Airbnb. So he's a great positive influence. All right, next up, we've got a voice note from Mike. Let's take a listen, man.
1:34:20Hey, guys, it's Mike from the super prolonged question in iShot's episode last year. So keep it short this time. you have a piece of art off to your upper left in on camera looks like a piece of abstract art i'm wondering if you can tell us more about the artist maybe maybe show us the piece thanks for everything you guys do for our city looking forward to the bun gym and the video thanks fellas i think it's the other like your your left the painting oh that wait you can't see that far though like the or is he talking about chad's board let me see what your frame looks like on youtube yeah you can see it or maybe i mean he didn't say sculpture he said art yeah i forgot
1:35:17Davis Torgerson:i thought he was talking about that which is i don't know too much about it it's like a carved african thing you need to do some research on this yeah maybe uh maybe we'll answer this question next week yeah we're running out of time in the post office let's squeeze one more in all right forgot to ask my mom in time i just tried to send chat gbt a picture of it um anyways but i also don't know which side he's talking about yeah verify with us mike i think it's the painting but I don't know. But I swear that painting's not really in the frame. You can see it. Yeah, you can right now, but I swear when it's...
1:35:56No, I just looked on YouTube. Oh, you can see it? You can kind of see it. Oh, that's Colette's friend's art.
1:36:03Davis Torgerson:Maybe she can tell us next time. Well, we'll get to the bottom of it next week. Yeah. All right, let me do one more here. All right, next up, we've got a voice note from Darren. What's good, Buntards? Second time writer, First time visiting y 'all's beautiful city of TDOT the other weekend. What else could an aging skate tourist ask for? Good weed, great food, and shit spots. Nah, just playing. Dunbat was crispy. Best box on the planet. Met your homies Heshy and Griff there who were nice as hell, but they almost had to smack a crackhead who came running up acting a fool. My question is, what is the most hijinks thing you've ever seen go down at Dunbat?
1:36:45tweaker wise because that seems like a hot spot of fuckery lastly shout out to blue tile lounge because the owner and his kid were there and they were mega g's kazam from maine
1:37:01Davis Torgerson:too much stuff like you know and it's just so many things over 20 years or however long done that's been there that you can't even remember a specific thing dude i once saw a tweaker drag a dead skunk into the middle of the skate park when you say tweaker it's someone we used to skate with when we were but he was tweaking i didn't want to i didn't want to reveal more identity but yeah we used to he used to be a skater dragged a dead skunk into the middle of the skate park and then if you've ever been to dunbat back in those days there was always a stump there that people would skate the stump over it and whatnot picked the stump up and fucking crushed it the animal even more blood everywhere like relentlessly killing this animal in the middle of the skate park everyone was just fucking stunned and then he left, I think.
1:38:03I mean, I may, like, I wanted to leave. I think we left as well. It smelled terrible, too.
1:38:10Davis Torgerson:Yeah, that was probably... Was it a skunk or a squirrel? No, it was a skunk. It was a skunk. It was disgusting. Dude, just dragged it in there by its tail. That was an episode. Yeah, that was really gnarly.
1:38:29Davis Torgerson:oh man the one time I mean this wasn't like a tweaker but remember they there was a contest and the one homie tried to climb the pole oh yeah he climbed it he climbed so high and then he just fell off and broke his leg that was another disgusting highly unfortunate um moment but yeah dumb bat bro the amount of fights it's like they all blend into one witness to gazillion fights there um the worst was when it would be non-skaters i mean a skater on skater fights one thing but then there was a summer where there was a lot of beef with uh people in the park and then remember that dude who was kind of a skater but then he would he got banned i don't even want to say his name i don't remember his name actually but there was just a lot yeah too many fights it's a i think it's it's mellowed out a bit fuck no that park's worse than ever i mean like the interaction with the skateboarding is definitely mellowed out but that park is worse than ever man like oh i'm not talking i'm talking about like the skate park i feel like i don't hear as many stories but the thing is no one go like it's less used than ever now you know that's the that's the sad part is that like yeah it's mellowed out but people don't want to go there because for a while it was really sketchy yeah but i'm thinking like whatever five years ago eight years ago there's definitely times where it's like you could go there on friday night and just something's gonna happen i feel like it's not that sketchy anymore no no in the skate park itself yeah yeah love it there, but you can go there and just skate forever, but yeah, the surrounding area, that park sometimes can be a bit of a mess, but usually good.
1:40:25Yeah.
1:40:26Davis Torgerson:Anyways. Alright, y 'all. That's going to wrap up this week's edition of the Post Office. Make sure to get your emails, voice notes, and whatever the hell you got into thebuntliveatgmail.com. Hopefully a couple of them. Addressing the bunch in, man, because that's where we're going to be.
1:40:54Welcome back to The Rundown, brought to you by NFL Canada. Ghost fantasy season is upon us. This past Friday, we had our first draft. Obviously way earlier than we would have liked, but, you know, scheduling, travel. this league is a busy league and we need to get it done and and we did how do you feel about your first fantasy team man just walk us through the steps of how uh how your team came about
1:41:23Davis Torgerson:i came out of it happy but also a little like you know you do some mock drafts it's impossible to mock draft for our league because it's yahoo and it's 2qb so it never you can't like simulate the 2qb on there so i had the third pick i started with joey crack you know i'm saying joe burrow and we went kenneth walker around to amari and hampton three and then this is where right there i'm happy with my core this is where i kind of started diverting devante smith was the highest ranked guy left but he wasn't anyone i would ever mock draft so i went with smith i mean wide receiver one i've had him before as when he was the two so hopefully that pans out cd lamb keeper and the fifth deandre swift this is where you snaked me colston loveland one turn before me had to um because in that i think my strategy had in my head was like if you don't get trey mcbride loveland or or bowers but bowers is kept in that league so you can't just wait just wait till the end so that's what i did so whatever i got swift some rb depth i think the bears offense will be fun to watch all year then luther burden basial tune jonathan brooks godwin josh downs isaiah likely my second qb's jackson dart so it's kind of fun to have at least one touchdown connection possibility and that's how i round out so i'm very happy with my team strayed from some of the guys that I was hoping to get for guys that were just ranked higher.
1:43:01Davis Torgerson:Igbuka was one of my guys, but I think I went. Who did I take over him? I took Devontae Smith over Igbuka, but it just felt too rich too early. He had the toe sprain. Yeah, Devontae Smith's going into the season healthy. He's the one. You hope Hurts can bounce back and be a little bit better passing this year. I like Devonta Smith personally I thought he was incredible as the two Interested to see how he goes as the one I love him I just don't love Jalen Hurts Kenneth Walker and Omari Hampton is a nice one-two punch To mix with Joe Burrow And Devonta Smith is not even your one because you got CD you got that wide receiver anchor yeah it's a great draft I was in a tough spot man after those first three qbs go in two quarterbacks lamar josh and and joey like the fall off seems huge to me jaden daniels was kept too so yeah and even then like after that i thought my next ranked one would be dak but like i can't take dak with the i went right after you with the fourth pick like how would i take dak over one of the rbs but i'd I could never start this league off without a quarterback in the first two rounds.
1:44:24And I went no QB till the fourth. And now I got scary hours.
1:44:29Davis Torgerson:My whole season's riding on Kyler Murray, man. You did what I did last year, but at least, well, hopefully, I took J.J. McCarthy last year in the fourth. Worst decision ever. You went back to that Vikings coaching tree, which we usually can trust. So I think you'll fare better. Yeah. Yeah, we'll see, man. We'll see. We both went RB heavy in the first couple rounds. I felt good after the draft. Obviously, the quarterback scared the shit out of me because in the two quarterback league, I have Kyler Murray and Sam Darnold. But, you know, Super Bowl MVP. So we'll see. We shall see. It's a calculated risk, and I'm not mad at it at all.
1:45:14Davis Torgerson:Like if Kyler is just even 80 % of what he was in his prime and Darnold's the same Darnold he's been the last two years. Yeah. You get 20 points a game from them. Your skilled players are some of the best in the league. So you'll be fine. Happy to have Jameer Gibbs on the squad, man. Coming from Detroit just last night too. Feel the Gibbs energy out there, dude. You see some jerseys. No, but we were around Fort Field a lot, so we saw a lot of Gibbs on the billboards. You know what I mean? Nice. They're getting excited down there. The craziest pick in that draft. After me, the fifth pick overall in the draft.
1:46:01We got a buddy named Ben Davis who he's known to make some wild picks. Years back, he took Jimmy Graham first overall. Absolutely wild. But these are the type of players you need.
1:46:15Davis Torgerson:Didn't he win the league that year too? He may have. He won it once. So that would make sense because it was a long time ago. But I think Jimmy was like over the hill when he took him a little bit. But I heard, I swear he won the league that year. I would love to double check that. I would love to fact check that. But after me, you know, with lots of competent running backs, wide receivers, and even better quarterbacks on the board. our good friend ben davis goes on a limb selects jared goff fifth overall what do you make of that play man i mean i'm just so thankful to him because i had a harsh tear like separation after a marion hampton and because he took goff where he didn't have to i I feel like that allowed Hampton to fall to me.
1:47:10Davis Torgerson:And then our other friend, Pat O 'Connor, couldn't work the draft. So he auto-drafted Puka Nakua in the first round, which I think he would have been a second-round pick. So a couple of mistakes there in the first round helped me. But if I was them, I'd be livid. Or if I was Pat, then you auto-picked your first pick. And then Ben, I just love you. You got to have at least one wild loose ball in your league. Dude, you need it. It benefits everyone else. Yeah. Yeah, we'll see. Maybe he knows something we don't, man. You know? But only time will tell. So, Ghost, this is our fantasy episode, man. We went through the divisions.
1:47:50We talked a lot about team schedules and seasons. But we're going to hit it with three awards or three picks. We're going to start with MVP. And then we're going to go MVF, most valuable fade. And then we're going to go with our my guy. the one guy we want to come out of every draft with this could be a guy in the first three rounds or someone later on um whatever you want so let's start with mvp who's going to be the player i guess you would say that you think will be on the most winning rosters and and by winning i say win the regular season because like that the playoffs who knows what the fuck goes on in the playoffs you know it's just a three-week stretch of of luck and flukes injuries playing time matchups so for us and like a lot of these rankings i think it's fair to say winning the regular season is what we're attempting to do right now okay for this one i mean i'm biased to him now he's on my squad i will go with hampton i think he's the last of there's a lot of good
1:48:57Davis Torgerson:running backs in the first two rounds i think he goes last in most uh rankings but after that then you're starting to look at javante williams and guys like that so he's a middle to back end of round two pick i feel like in a lot of leagues and i think if you nail your first pick and back that up with hampton that's two first picks right there he's in mike mcdaniel's offense now we've seen what he turned devon hn into uh unfortunately they just lost their center for the year so that's classic chargers and 49ers just injuries before the seasons even started but i just believe i just seeing devon hn man on a team that's not even that good be as good as he's been yeah hampton i think there's a discount because he was hurt most of last year and he never really got into that like elite rhythm but i'm just believing in the new coach and he was a first round draft pick in the real nfl draft so i think put those two things together it's gonna be nice i'm a little worried about some committee talks over there but but dude the thing is as well like mcdaniel just gets to be the oc he doesn't have to worry about all that other shit you know they got harbaugh and the rest of the court he can hone in on his star players which i think he'll do man I hope so I have seen some experts fading him and then some being like oh he's he's the one so it's pretty divided I drafted him so now I'm just I'm I have I have no choice but to believe man yeah you're locked in man um for me I think I'm gonna go with Puka man wow he's got Stafford I wanted to go RB here um I I obviously think that Jameer Gibbs is going to have a record-breaking season like Sonic and Knuckles is done it's just Sonic Goff and and that team they're going to be in a lot of high scoring games like usual I think Gibbs will be like the most valuable player but he's the the first pick overall like he can't he's he's there for a reason and Bijan's right behind him but I think Puka man the amount of targets the yards after catch Stafford absolutely loves him I don't hope this because I just drafted Adams but I I think the touchdown count will go up a little bit more Adams won't be you know as dominant and I think Puka the right stage of his career hopefully in the right mind state this Rams team is win now so I think Puka and he would be my third pick if I had that third pick I would go Puka over Chase yeah the shitty thing about us doing our draft so early this year in our main league all the other ones are right before the season starts is just information and the lack of it yeah puka insane offseason bid a woman went to rehab uh been streaming too much saying crazy shit on streams and then he goes to rehab comes out and then now the latest is he ran into a glass door at a party that's not like a crazy that's just an accident yeah but when you what was he on something like bro no bro don't go assuming man no no don't go steven a you can you can assume when the the whole offseason's been a shit show i think that truly was just human error i hope so i do hope so because also i saw a report that the rams like he's he's gonna sign a mega extension but it might not be with the rams when you're arguably you're a top three receiver in the league and your own team that drafted you is like questioning whether they should resign you there's where there's smoke there's fire to that though yeah he's a nut job he's a nut job but i think that don't matter when it comes to fucking statistics if he can score let's just keep him on the field you know yeah let's just keep him on the he's also a medical junkie i was in there once a game he's him and jackson dart i would love to see who won in the tent jackson dart just walks over there after every so does puka though he leaves every game It's just such a veteran team over there in the Rams.
1:53:17I hope that all this shit gets sorted out because his talent is bar none,
1:53:22Davis Torgerson:and Stafford loves him. Listen, if he plays 15, 16, 17 games, you might be 1 ,000 % right. But he could miss a week. We'll see with the injury, and then he might get suspended. Last year was tumultuous for him even as well. There was a lot of up and down. He was the wide receiver one last year. People talk a lot about Jackson Smith and Jigba, but Puka still beat him. He was still better. So I think Puka does that and even more this year. We'll be eating McDonald's. He's on that Ocho Cinco lifestyle. You see that? But Cooper Cup tried to get him off the McDonald's, but he's just at that age. Physical prime does not matter what he puts in his body right now.
1:54:04Yeah, I think record-breaking season incoming for both Gibbs and Puka. and my runner-up was Kenneth Walker, man. What a spot to land. Kansas City coming off a down year. They get a workhorse back and, you know, they got no problem giving him a huge workload.
1:54:22Davis Torgerson:Yeah, I hope so. Have him. Love me some Chiefs. Just worry. I've had him in the past. He always tends to miss games. So if we could get 15 games, you know, miss a little one-two, make sure you're playing in those fantasy playoff weeks. All right, moving from the MVP to the MVF, we need one player. You're dodging at all costs in fantasy drafts. Who's it going to be? This one's easy. Just look back at our draft board, and I'm glad the defending champ took this guy because if I'm right, I don't want him to repeat. It's Drake London, man. We know he's an exceptional talent, but we have to relearn this lesson every year.
1:55:03Davis Torgerson:It feels like last year, me and you relearned it. the hard way it's not like we didn't know this but the person throwing your wide receiver has a huge impact on their production last year justin jefferson let us both down this year fucking the falcons go get tua and he's been looking like absolute ass in practice and in pre-season uh i just don't trust him to make drake london a viable fantasy option that early in drafts No, that's going to be a struggle all year long. Watching those games will be absolutely heart-wrenching. Honorable mention for me is Brian Thomas Jr. Had him last year, drafted him super high, and then just basically waited all year.
1:55:52And just never panned out, and now they have new wide receivers over there. BTJ, honorable mention. But my obvious pick, and it's a two-piece, man. They can both go to hell. is Garrett Wilson and Brees Hall. If you've ever owned a New York jet, and the worst thing that someone can give you is hope. In every offseason, like I said about the Chargers, there's a lot of hope. But for some reason, the hope is back for Garrett Wilson. It's been revived this year. Every year. Geno Smith? That's who I want to be hoping throws to my wide receiver one or two. I just can't do it, man. And I believe, I truly believe in the talent of both those individuals.
1:56:39And that franchise has been let down time and time again. I thought the Aaron Rodgers project would work out. Obviously ended in devastating fashion there in New York. But the fact that they've made no attempt whatsoever at getting a quality quarterback since then, it's just pathetic. Like, go out and get yourself a Mac Jones, at least. You know, someone with a little bit of hope. I can't watch Geno Smith throw to Garrett Wilson and I can't beg for Geno Smith to complete on third down so that Brees Hall can get another run or two. So I'll be fading the New York Jets.
1:57:17Davis Torgerson:Yeah, I feel you. I think the theme we're seeing here is just shitty offenses or teams we project to have shitty offenses. Try and avoid those players because part of fantasy is the fun of watching your guys you know on the field and in scoring opportunities and those are few and far between for teams like the jets and there's nothing worse bro i feel like bijan at least has had some elite seasons but like someone like brie saw had the one but garrett wilson particularly i just feel bad for him i would just love to see him i would love to see him on dallas just you know for a couple weeks just kansas city let the man have a chance to like bro some of his individual highlights are so ridiculous but there's just no consistency there it's brutal he might go down like his whole career just wasting away you know and i feel like justin jefferson he's gotten to that point and he had kirk and kirk was viable for a few years but even after that one year with fucking uh what's that bum's name jj he's like dude i can't live like this man like i just can't do it so So I don't know how Garrett Wilson does it.
1:58:27Maybe he loves living in New York City. But please, dude. I've been fading.
1:58:32Davis Torgerson:Let this be the last year that Garrett Wilson has no quarterback. Yeah, honorable mentions for me, Justin Jefferson. His name after last year, his name just doesn't. But on the draft board, it's like invisible to me. I just can't go through that again. And then another one is Devon A. Chan. I just, I'm just worried Miami's just going to be so dog shit that it's just painful. to watch him stack boxes all season we'll see yeah he'll be living in uh in hell but sometimes those are the best values when everyone's thinking like that and then hn falls and falls and falls someone's gonna take him who hasn't been paying attention to the off-season noise and sometimes those are league winners yeah and sometimes that off-season noise doesn't always fucking pan out yeah we know as well 100 all right safe is my guy i want a running back and a wide receiver one of each because obviously those are the two most important you're playing two or three rbs and wide receivers a week let's hear it man my guy wide receiver i'm going emeka buka uh if you're in our main league you know i was struggling with this decision to the bitter end keep cd lamb in the fifth or buka in the 10th i made up my mind to keep a buka and then he had a toe injury and i'm like i just can't i'll never forgive myself if he has turf toe and like start it nags all season and i let go of my son cd lamb uh but that said we're not the season starts in two weeks so we got time hopefully we find out his toes all good what he did in the first five weeks of his rookie season was some unprecedented shit touchdowns left right and center yardage everything and then he had a hamstring and baker got injured and he fell off a cliff i'm choosing to believe that the first five weeks is closer to who he is and i'm expecting a huge breakout this year if the toe is all good there you go wide receiver for me i'm going lad mcconkey man i have to i got him i really wanted him in this league he i really wanted him last year and he had a bit of a down year people always wanting a little more a little more a little more he was and usually last year that's usually when i would have him a year too early so i believe that this is the year he breaks out um lives in the wide receiver one fringe which would be great great value for where you're getting him lad mcconkey justin herbert taking that next step the chargers taking that next step lad mcconkey being featured as the wide receiver one i like it uh you know i'm in on the chargers as well i think keenan allen going back really messed up his his targets and just like i don't know he amazing rookie season kind of fell off a cliff last year but everything has been reshuffled to where he should be an elite fantasy option i like it all right uh running back i'm gonna go with an old classic maybe maybe this is he's got one more prime year in him i'm going with the legend david montgomery holy shit because you could get him in in our draft i mean it's two qb so it's a little different he went in round six so that means you probably get him in round five and standard value draft and bro he's all he does is fucking score touchdowns and you know come close to 100 yards and now that there's no gibbs in front of him he goes over there i mean it's woody marks i think i think he's a beast i think he's got a huge chip on his shoulder he was upset last year when they kind of went away from him he's got a lot to prove i think he i think he's you could pencil him in for a thousand yards and 10 touchdowns and if you've seen cj stroud play football in the last few years you know they're going to want to run the ball and what we saw joe mixon do in just that one year having a competent running back in uh in houston dude i wanted david montgomery as well sometimes it just doesn't work out it's just not close that was the case in our first draft but i believe in montgomery as well great landing spot for him the team's wicked the defense is awesome offense will be on the field a lot so wait are you telling me if joel i'm looking at our draft right now joel got him at pick 55 you took loveland two picks later and i took swift one picked after that if joel if he was there would you have taken him over loveland i don't think so because i oh you already had your picks yeah or rbs just trying to rework the draft so that i can get loveland so my my uh my my guy uh running back was my second pick in that draft Saquon Barkley, one year removed from being ranked the number one player in the NFL and Super Bowl winner, doing all types of special things on the field in his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles.
2:03:41Last year, you know, that team, there was just something wrong with them. They didn't seem like a team. The A.J. Brown shit just was a cloud over them. I'm not saying A.J. was the problem by any means, but that's who the media and maybe the eagles made out to be the problem aj brown is gone hopefully we can take a deep breath and saquon can go back to being one of the best running backs in the league and the value you're getting him at he i think he can be as good as gibbs and bijon saquon barkley is a my guy it's the first time i've ever owned him
2:04:17Davis Torgerson:so i'm excited nice yeah i'm expecting him bounce back as well i think there's just gonna be better vibes over there and they're going to be uh they're going to move that offense all right one last thing a bold prediction of sorts a bold prediction it could be fantasy related or just nfl related i need to be prepared for these questions man a bold prediction i could go first okay yeah you go first my bold prediction if everything goes right down in dallas plus Dak Prescott will be the MVP of the NFL. Wow. I like that. I like that. All right. My bold prediction, the Green Bay Packers switch to a more pass-heavy team.
2:05:13Davis Torgerson:Josh Jacobs on the back nine. You know what I'm saying? And Jordan Love, I think, had a top five or six QB finish a few years back. He reminds everyone who he is, what he's capable of. Jordan Love, they speed that offense up. Christian Watson, Tucker Craft, Matthew Golden, you know what I'm saying? Jaden Reed, they're coming to make some noise this year. But what's the prediction? What's the prediction? Just glaze the Packers with no prediction. The prediction is that Jordan Love is once again top six fantasy quarterback. And the Packers win the division. Okay, okay. That was insane. Orwalski just went on a crazy rant about how good Jordan Love looks.
2:06:06Davis Torgerson:Nice. I haven't seen that yet. You guys are side by side. Let's go, Dan. Dan's got his thing.
