0:00This is podcast episode 313. There has not been a week that I have missed. I'm pretty proud of that. And so this is a little over six years, one podcast every week. And it really points out the power of doing something and getting in a routine and building positive habits. You can build negative habits, but let's talk about positive habits. And so it just became something I did every week. I came close to missing once. I think it was 3 o 'clock in the afternoon. I said, oh, wow, I've got to get that podcast done and up. And I managed to do that. But with that exception, it was pretty easy after a while because it was just like getting up and brushing your teeth and getting dressed in the morning.

0:47It was something I needed to do and did do once a week. Now, this process of business acquisition is a tough process. You're going to be tested emotionally, self-esteem, self-image are the barometers of usually how successful you will be. And you'll deal with rejection along the way, things that work out, things that don't work out, people that don't like what you're offering, people that say no to you. That's all going to be part of your process. And there will be times that you run into a streak where it works out great, and there will be times when you run into a streak when things don't seem to be working like you would want them to.

1:29And it's at those times that people often think about quitting. And people do quit this process. I would encourage you to think about the successes. I have a mentee that just did a partial exit, seven figures, which two years ago he would never have thought that that was possible in this time frame. Credit to him for doing the heavy lifting on that. He did comment to me that it wouldn't be possible without my help, and I certainly helped him, but he did the heavy lifting, so the credit really goes to him. But it shows you that this process does work. Not for everybody. I can't guarantee your success, but guess what?

2:15I can't guarantee your failure as well. So when you are struggling with things and you're thinking about quitting, I want to play for you a clip from Rob O 'Neill, former Navy SEAL, ended up taking out a top terrorist. You probably know about that. And so listen to what he has to say about when is it time to quit. Really powerful. So I hope this helps you. Remember it. Remember to watch it or listen to it from time to time. And that will oftentimes give you the spark to keep going. And as he says, if you're going to quit, quit tomorrow, the day that actually never comes. So I hope this helps you.

3:04If you're looking for conversation starters, just go over to brucewhipple.com. Sign up for them if you want to go there directly. Just brucewhipple.com forward slash free course. Remember, it's important to know how to do the steps. The Acquisition Advantage Boot Camp recordings are the best example of the steps that I've done. So check that out over at brucewhipple.com. And then I do still have some spots for the VIP Mastermind. When you look at that over on my website. You're going to see it says sold out. Ignore that. I like to talk to people before I take their money to make sure they're a fit.

3:47But listen to what Rob has to say and think about it if and when you are struggling with things not working and you're tempted to quit. Hey, what is up? This is Robert J. O 'Neill. I'm here at EOTech headquarters in Plymouth, Michigan. I wanted to remind you that being a soldier is tough. You got to fight to get to the next day and you got to fight to get home. It reminds me of when I went through SEAL training, I had an instructor give me some really good advice. He said, I know you've read the books. I know you've seen the movies. Regardless of what you've been told, this course is not impossible.

4:19People graduate. Look at me. I'm living proof. So I will never ask you to do anything impossible, but I will make you do something very hard, followed by something very hard, followed immediately by something very hard, day after day, after day for eight straight months. And that sounds like a lot to get from now to eight months from now, but don't think about it that way. That's not how you achieve a long-term goal. I want you to do it like this. Wake up in the morning on time. Get out of bed, make your bed the right way, and then brush your teeth. You just started the day with three victories.

4:48That's three wins. Make it to the 4 a.m. Workout on time. As I'm beating you, don't think about the pain. That's your emotion. Concentrate on your next goal in life, which is making it to breakfast. After breakfast, your next goal in life is lunch. After lunch, make it to dinner. After dinner, do everything you need to do to get back inside that perfectly made bed. and because you took the time in the morning to make your bed the right way, regardless of how bad today was. And it will be bad. Tomorrow's a clean slate. Tomorrow is a fresh start. And when you feel like quitting, do not quit right now.

5:20Quit tomorrow. If you can keep quitting tomorrow, you can do anything in life. And these are words to live by. I'm Rob O 'Neill, and this is Battle Proven.
