In short
Ryan J.B. (Change e-commerce founder) explains how he went from living in his mum’s bedroom at 26 and working as an underpaid chef to building an e-commerce business and mentoring community. He argues success comes from opportunity-seeking, discipline/work ethic, and a strong “why,” not intelligence or get-rich-quick thinking. He also discusses dealing with jealousy, online hate, and the importance of real community support.

2:00If you're serious about building something new for yourself, message Ryan on Instagram at RyanJB. Ryan. Liam. Thanks for coming on. Thanks for having me. Anyone that's watched this show for the last year, year and a half, will know that Change are our sponsor, which gives us the ability to introduce very interesting people that the mainstream media wouldn't platform in a million years. You are the founder of Change. So we've been working with each other for quite some time, but I've never had the opportunity to interrogate you in your life. So I'm excited to know how you become so successful, built a huge community, which is what Britain's lacking.
2:39So how did you go from living at your mum's house at 26 years of age to then go on to building change and becoming a millionaire? I think it all started with wanting more out of life. I used to look at people around me that were successful, people that were not on social media, but people maybe in real life that were levels above me, people that had nice cars. And I used to think, how do they do this? But I always looked at people and thought, if they can do it, I can do it too. I never looked at someone and thought, well, they're lucky or I wish I could have that. I always looked at people and thought, well, you can do it.
3:14I can do it too. But I just need to figure out how to do it. So I think it got to a point where I was desperate to change my life. I was 26 years old living in my mum's bedroom. And I'm seeing everybody else at the age of 24, 25, 26, living this life that I only dreamt of. So I had to quickly find a way of making more money. I knew it started with money. I knew money gave you freedom. I knew money would allow you to be able to live a life on your own terms. So I started to look for opportunity. But that's where it all changed. It was the moment when I started to look for opportunity is when I started to see the opportunities.
3:51Before then, I would play the victim. I'd make excuses. I would sit there and say, oh, you know, he probably inherited from his mum and dad or, you know, all of these things to make me feel better. But when it got down to the nitty gritty, I'm 26. I'm living at my mum's house. I've broke up with my ex-girlfriend. So I've got my two little girls who slept in the same bed as me because they didn't have an extra room at my mum's. It got to a point where I just thought I need to find something to improve my life. And now knowing what I know, there's opportunities everywhere. But you have to be looking for an opportunity in order to take the opportunity, right?
4:26Opportunities don't just present themselves. You have to go out and you have to look. And that's what really changed my life. So what were you doing before you were 26 work-wise? Was you in and out of jobs? Did you have a fixed thing? So I was a chef. I did chefing since the age of 17, 18. Long hours, underpaid, overworked, underappreciated. And I used to look at people in that industry at the age of 50, 60, miserable, stressed, breaking up with their wives. And I thought, that's not the life that I want. I want to be able to build something for myself. You know, and that sounds very cliche, but I always had that.
5:01You only live once, right? Make the most of it. Don't live in regret. So I always had that fire in me, even when I was a chef, you know, I'd go and do 60 hours a week, minimum wage. The manager would go home early, but he's done nothing all day and I have to stay till 9pm. And I just thought I'm made for more than this. So all of this was a bit of a build up until I had my little girls at the age of 25, 26. And then that was kind of the final nail in the coffin. And I thought enough is enough. I need to find something where I can make more money. I can support my family. I can get my own house.
5:36You know, so I was a chef since the age of about 17. Yeah. Before we come to the epiphany where you decided, I've got to change. And then you built change. You said you had a few mentors, people you would look to for inspiration. I had a few when I was younger as well. Because I've had a few and have got a few businesses. Who were your main sources of inspiration? So I used to read a lot of books and I used to find, okay, it's not a mentor, but I used to feel like I was being mentored by reading books. So Robert Kiyosaki was a big one for me, right? He's worth billions and billions of dollars.
6:10He's heavy in the real estate. He was brought up with a poor dad and a rich dad. The book is called actually Rich Dad, Poor Dad. And he talks about the different mindsets, how a poor person thinks and how a rich person thinks. so it all started with books I used to read a lot of books I started pushing myself rather than listening to music on the way to work I'd listen to like an audio book and I'd start to just slightly have that uh shifting mindset I used to start I started to think a little bit different the way I'd look at money I'd look at money as a tool to make more rather than something where I can buy something nice for myself so it started with books um my first introduction to an actual mentor was I come across someone who lived local to me.
6:54He was doing about 40, 50 grand a month. And one day I asked him, what is it you do? Because I'm looking for an opportunity. And he said to me, I do e-commerce. I didn't have a clue. I was thinking, what the fuck's e-commerce? So I go home, I go on Google, type in e-commerce. I then sent him an email and he come back to me and he said, look, this is the system that I'm part of. This is the people that taught me. I already knew the, I already understood the importance of having a mentor because I think there's a lot of stigma around mentors. Oh, they sell courses. Oh, they do this. Oh, they do that.
7:24But a mentor is very important to somebody's growth and success. You know, the most successful people in the world still have mentors. So I already kind of adapted that mindset through reading books. So when he sent me this system, I was quick to take action. I thought, look, you know, he's local. It can't be a scam because if he has scammed me, he lives 20 minutes down the road. It has to be legit. I I need a mentor. I'm reading the books. That's great. I need somebody that can show me and guide me. So it was quite very early on in my journey. I had a mentor. That's kind of where I started was with a mentor.
7:57That's interesting. You say about Robert Kiyosaki, Rich Dad, Poor Dad. I think that was the first. I've not read many books and the older I've got, my attention span has whittled away almost to TikTok brain. But Rich Dad, Poor Dad was one of the first books I ever read. And then The Magic of Thinking Big. and the importance of reprogramming your stinking thinking is essential to any kind of growth. And if you want to get some confidence and broaden your horizons and believe that anything is achievable and the whole, oh, I need to see it before I believe it. It's like, no, you've got to believe it and then you see it.
8:32And what you just said there struck a chord because I'm 46 now. I'm an old bastard. And I just remember always thinking, if I see someone who's successful, I'm going to ask them, how did you do it? That's the question. How did you do that? Tell me. And people love talking about themselves. And I guarantee anyone that's sort of struggling, thinking, where do I go? I'm at a crossroads. I'm a bit lost in my life. Or they're lacking direction. Or mentors or father figures. You know, we live in a broken society. The advice I would give is exactly what you've done. Find someone that is somewhere you'd like to be and ask them, how did you get there?
9:07People love talking about themselves. And most people get ignored these days. They'll tell you everything. I've always had that mindset, Liam. By the way, there used to be, where I used to work on a Saturday, they used to do car shows down there. Somebody would pull up in a brand of Aston Martin. This is actually a real thing. I walked up to the guy, I was on a break outside, and I said, nice car, mate. He went, thanks. And I said, what year is it? And he said, 11. That's it. Very, very abrupt, very rude. And I said to myself in that moment, if I ever have anything nice, I'm not going to be like that.
9:40And I let people sit in my cars. I see kids and it gives me so much joy seeing kids, you know, looking at my cars, I drive past. But there's so many people out there that they don't have that mindset. They don't look at somebody successful and go, hmm, I wonder how they got that. Let me ask the question. I know so many people, Liam, that know about my success, know what I've built, what I've achieved. But they don't ask me, what is it you do? I had a really good friend I used to work with. Four years after I quit my job, I picked him up in a Lamborghini because it's the only car I had at the time.
10:12and he got in, he said, wow, nice car, mate. And that was it. And I was thinking to myself, and I'm just being brutally transparent with how my brain works. I thought, fuck me, if that was me, I'd be like, bro, what the fuck? How have you done this? Teach me, what is it you're doing? How can I make more money? I've always been that way inclined of nice car, but how do you do it? What is it you do? Even now, even to this day, I go somewhere nice and I see somebody with a nice car or a nice watch and I go, I think, what's he doing? I'll ask the question. Hi, mate, what kind of industry are you in?
10:42I'm just intrigued. Do you get a lot of people jealous of your success? Because you're young and very successful. Yeah, but I think jealousy comes from insecurity. So I think people are insecure because they lack the ability to do more for themselves. So it kind of, they vent it in terms of like, you know, I'm jealous of what Ryan's got because I'm not willing to sacrifice or, you know, put the work in that Ryan's put in. Jealousy is a disease. So, you know, it doesn't really bother me. But yeah, absolutely. since day one, since day one, since the moment I announced to everyone, I'm learning this e-commerce, you should learn this e-commerce.
11:15And everybody would laugh at me. They'd say it's a scam. They didn't even know what e-commerce was, but they said it was a scam. He'll be back. When I left my job, he'll be back in six months. No, it's because you don't want me to succeed. That's why you're, because you're insecure because you lack the ability to do more for yourselves because you're lazy. And yeah, I think that jealousy stems from a lot of things, but a lot of the time I find this insecurity because I've never, ever met a hater doing better than me. Never, ever. Usually when somebody talks shit or they're jealous or they're hating, they're usually levels below you because that doesn't really exist, you know?
11:50So yeah, I get a lot of jealous people, but it doesn't faze me. I look at the people's lives we've changed, retiring my parents, retiring my wife's parents, the team that I have, you know, I focus on this. I don't focus on the noise because you have to accept that when you decide to become successful. You have to accept, and you'll know this, Liam, you have to accept you're going to get people that are jealous, people that are going to talk shit, people that are going to hate on you, people that are going to leave comments, little keyboard warriors. You know, I think it says way more about them than it does the person they're speaking about.
12:23Cool, man. That is a flex. There's one thing retiring your own parents, but retiring your wife's parents as well. Yeah, that's powerful. Have you had to overcome any adversity? I mean, what was the lowest point in your life that made you think, other than living in your mum's house, still at 26, like 30s just around the corner, so I get there, it must have been fear, it's like I've got to do something now. But was it anything that you've been through that really hurt? Yeah, so the lowest point in my life, I would say is, I was off one day from work. I went to the corner shop to get my little girls a drink.
12:57They both asked for a magazine. I had to check my Barclays Ping It app, right, if people remember that. Barclays Ping app, I couldn't afford two magazines. And my little girls were asking me why they couldn't have a magazine. And I was so embarrassed to say I can't afford it. I do 60 hours a week. I live in a little bedroom at my mum's house, right? I'm driving a shitty car. How is that fair? And I sat there, I felt like a failure as a dad. I felt embarrassed. And it was that moment that I decided I'm going to make a fucking change. I'm not living like this. I don't accept it. Most people accept their lives.
13:32They'll bitch, they'll moan, they'll complain. How many people we know that will sit there moaning? They don't have enough time with their family. Oh, taxes are going up. But yet they do nothing to change their life. In that moment, I was willing to make the change. I made the decision in that moment. I had tears running down my eyes. You know, I was in the shop and I was thinking, I said, girls, I'll get you a magazine next week. But they couldn't understand why. So it was humiliation that was your driving force. Absolutely. Yeah, I felt a failure as a dad. And I knew it was my responsibility.
14:01I can sit here and blame the government. I can blame, but I knew that it's on me to make that change. The opportunities are out there. I just need to take them. You don't come, you don't stem from wealth or you didn't go university. So how did you end up cracking e-commerce then without money or education behind you? The first thing I did was look at my finances. So again, I've been reading books and I'm, you know, live below your means and, you know, start making some sacrifices. So I didn't do anything that normal people would do. when I say normal people, you know, Friday night, let's go out for a meal.
14:34Let's book one holiday, two holidays a year. I sacrificed all of that because I was a single parent. I was on 17, 1800 pounds a month. I had about 1000 pounds in outgoings, 1200 pounds outgoings every single month. I was only left with four or five 600 quid. I need to start putting money away, because I need to be able to invest into myself. Again, through reading books and through having a mentor now, I understood the importance of understanding money, how money works. I think it's important that you should understand how money works. I used to see anything that left my bank account as an expense, when in fact, I would say a few of my outgoings were investments.
15:12So I started to change the way I looked at my bank transactions. Well, no, those three are okay, they're investments into my future. This shit here, that needs to stop, that needs to go. Things like Netflix, I don't need that, right? It's a distraction. I need to build my empire, then I'll watch Netflix. So I was able to do it through pure determination to change my life. I think creating a wire was a massive one for me. I saw my mum and dad getting older. So it wasn't just about my girls. My mum and dad was getting older. You know, my mum's still doing 50 hours a week. My dad's still a taxi driver in London doing 60, 70 hours a week.
15:45My dad also had a mild heart attack at the time. So for me, it was like, I have to do something, right? I'm going to take the responsibility. So it's not just for my parents. I need to do this for my girl. So in fact, it wasn't just about me. I wasn't saying, oh, I want to do this because I want a nice car. I want this. Cars to me are just milestones. It doesn't mean shit. Me waking up every day doing what I want is what means the most. Seeing my mum and dad retired, best thing in the world. Seeing my girls grow up and have a good life and eat good food. And it all costs money, right? That's what it was all about at the beginning for me.
16:18So I was able to do it just through sheer determination. Like you said a minute ago, Liam, you know, you've got to see it to believe it and you've got to believe it to achieve it. And that's exactly what I had. I could see the vision because I'm looking at everybody else in the e-commerce space. I'm talking with these two Australian brothers. They did 180 ,000 AUD, so about£90 ,000 English, in the month of November. I jumped on a Skype call with them. They were happy enough to do it, great people. And they said, Ryan, you can do this. I was very early on in my journey. Look what we did last month.
16:47We're not showing off. Let me just show you our bank account. Logged into their bank account. 180 ,000 AUD, lap profit this is, landed in their bank account in the month of November. Right? So that to me was like, fuck me. And they were no one special. So I looked at them and I thought, if you can do it, I can do it. I've got no GCSEs. I've got no, I'm not, I wouldn't say I'm a super intelligent person. I was just someone who was willing to take the risk, put the work in and trust the process. Yes. See, I've always said, your attitude controls your attitude and mindset is everything. And I'd imagine you live by that philosophy too.
17:20Yes. Be brutally honest, because I want you to absolutely let rip because people watching this will be people interested in money, business, success stories, people that will be sitting there not knowing which way to go. What's the mindset shift you need to become successful? I think you need to go from play it safe. Let's retire at the age of 65. Let's do what our parents did. That shit doesn't work. We live in a completely different world to what your parents lived in. You know, you could, again, you could buy a house back then for thousands of pounds. And now it's worth half a minute. It's a different world we live in.
17:52So I think it's important to kind of transition from, well, it's okay, because everybody else does it. All my mates work a job. I've got a better job than my mates. I think you need to transition from that average mindset to, wow, this is the best generation we live in, in terms of opportunities. I'm going to grab hold of this and I'm going to fucking level up. But I think the thing, mindset is the most important thing. Absolutely agree. 100%. It starts up there. But I think the thing that most people lack is work ethic. If you look at today's generation, I know this pisses people off, but it's the truth.
18:26It's reality. I see it every single day. People lack the work ethic part. and there's a quote that I absolutely love. And it says, if you combine today's technology with your grandparents' work ethic, you'll be a millionaire. But the part, everybody has technology. People have phones, laptops, internet. What they lack is the work ethic part because everybody's distracted. Everybody's watching Netflix. Everybody's endlessly scrolling on social media, seeing what their mates are up to. Do you want to go out tonight? Just bullshit. That doesn't help you level up. So I think you need to transition from, you need to have the fuck average mindset, right?
19:01because that's what I had. And you need to go from fuck average to, I'm going to build an empire. I'm going to level up, right? I want to be better than my peer group. I want to be better than, you know, I think looking at my mum and dad was a big one for me as well. You know, they grafted their whole life, come from a middle-class family. They wasn't poor, but we definitely didn't have money. And I'm looking at my mum and dad and they're in their 50s and I'm thinking, I don't want to be like that when I'm 50. You know, my mum and dad told me, don't be stupid. Do overtime at work. Don't start this e-commerce thing.
19:33But I was thinking, no disrespect, mum and dad. Like, you've never done e-commerce. You've got zero credibility to tell me what I should be doing. Right? So that's the shift that you need to have. But I think you need to create a why. It all comes down to why you're doing this. And you usually see the people that go, because I want a nice car. They come a month later, they disappear. oh because I want to I want to go to Ibiza with the boys fucking losers straight away there's no point starting but when somebody comes through and they go do you know what I've got a family I've got young kids I want to build it not just for me for them that gives them a purpose that gives them a reason and I didn't start with just I didn't start because I had an idea of having loads of money I would have never followed through my why was my parents getting older my dad having a mild heart attack my kids having to sleep in the same bed as me because they haven't even got their own bedroom, my wire was strong.

And how important would you say is discipline and work ethic compared to talent and intelligence? Oh, it's everything. Intelligence is irrelevant, completely irrelevant, because in today's world, we've got AI. Most apps that you will use, most softwares that you will use, a lot of them are templates, drag and drops, right?
21:52You don't have to be intelligent to drag and drop. So I think it's important that you have discipline. But this is in any area of your life, by the way. It's not just e-commerce. You'll know this, Liam. You go to the gym. That's discipline. You can turn up at the gym, but if you're not sitting down and doing those sit-ups, you're not getting your six-pack. The same as business. It's the same as any business. You come into e-commerce, you have to put the work in. No work, no results. You put the work in, you get results. so discipline and work ethic is number one 100 so when you get home from work fuck scrolling on social media fuck binge watching netflix turn that that does not help you level up get home do what you need to do open up your laptop build your empire it's as simple as that it's a choice but you can also make make make your life a lot easier by eliminating distractions so my brother who also started e-commerce he was distracted by his Xbox he loved gaming with his friends fucking sold it I'm losing I could be spending that extra two hours an evening on my laptop and if I do that I get to where I want to be two times faster then I can play Xbox all fucking day if I want you know so he sold the Xbox I made sacrifices so yeah discipline work ethic is definitely but that will come from here that's a great thing you said about choice there's a phrase we're going to coin change is choice Yeah.
23:16Change is a choice. Yeah. You choose exactly how you spend your 24 hours. Yes, you have to sleep six to eight of them. I understand that. You can't function. But the rest of it, it's entirely down to you. You choose where you invest your money. What's the biggest mistake people make when they come into online business or e-commerce? Okay. I think online business as a whole, I think people see it as a get-rich-quick scheme. It's not a get-rich-quick scheme. This is a real business. The money that goes in your bank account is real money, right? It's not get rich quick business. What you put in is what you get out.
Read the full transcript
23:48It's as simple as that, right? Number one. Number two, I think the mistake people make when they come through to us is they expect to come through and again, within a few weeks, have everything done for them. They've got business up and running and they'll be able to quit their job in three months and they have to keep going back to guys get rich quick schemes do not exist. There's loads of shit online and it's always been that way. When I first started, Forex was rife. right now i'm not saying forex isn't legit about one percent is legit right but when i started uh when i first started e-commerce forex was rife over instagram all your platforms and it was copying my signals on whatsapp and you're 10x your money overnight and i just think fucking even i'm not that stupid you know but people fall for that shit because and that's the mistake that some people make they look at my end result they're looking at the end result they're not looking at my journey.
24:41They look at the end result and they go, oh, if I join Ryan, I'll be able to quit my job in two, three months. Look how successful he is. It doesn't work like that. You know, you can check, we've had members change their life in six months. We've had members change their life in 12 months. It doesn't matter how long, but it's not going to happen in the space of weeks. So I think that's the biggest mistake I see. I think people come in with the expectations of I do minimal work and I get maximum profits. No. Do you find the more desperate the person, the better they are or the worse they are? I say that because people that want to get rich, quick, seem the most desperate.
25:13But again, if someone's absolutely desperate for change, they're prepared to put in the investment. So just out of curiosity, really. I turn people away every day, Liam. So I get messages every day. Ryan, I really want to do what you do, you're inspirational, whatever the message is. But I need to make this money in a few months or I'm going to be homeless. And I say to them, and I'm very transparent with people, do not join us. Sort your situation out. I think you need a level of stability, right? You don't have to be like, okay, all my ducks have lined up. That's not life. That doesn't happen.
25:42Waiting for the stars to align, you're never going to get there. But there needs to be a level of stability, right? There needs to be a level where you go, okay, do you know what? Yeah, I'm not in a great place, but I'm not in a place where I can't dedicate some time and some money towards my future. So people that come through that are in a really bad place, you need to sort your situation out, right? Whatever that is. I'm not a therapist. I'm not a, you know, I do e-commerce. But you need to sort your situation out, get yourself into a bit of a better position, then come back to me and we can chat.
26:12And I'm very transparent with that. Anybody that messages me, they'll know, you know, that's what I send back. I'm glad you've said that because I, because you sponsor the show, I get a lot of people asking me about e-commerce and then I direct them straight to you. Ask Ryan. So that's good to know that you won't accept anybody onto the team unless they've got their shit together. There's a, there's a baseline that you expect. Yeah. I think, I think it's okay for somebody, you know, that was in my position. Oh, I'm at my fucking mum's house. I'm scraping by every month. I need to learn a new skill.
26:40That's fine. But when it's, you know, extreme things like I'm going to be homeless in a month and I need this to work. I literally had a guy, no word of a lie, two weeks ago, he messaged me and he said, Ryan, I'm going to get 6k in debt to get one of your memberships or whatever. But I need to make this back in a month because I can't afford the interest rate. And I said, bro, number one is not a get rich quick scheme. Secondly, you need to go away and sort your situation out come back to me when you're ready right because so going back to your your the original question there i think coming in with a ton of pressure on your shoulders isn't good right because as you go along your journey you know we're fucking 80 percent there and then they fall off because the pressure just becomes too much for them to be able to handle because their life's going downhill and their business then has to stop because they haven't got the time because they're distracted, they've got problems with their mental health.
27:31So I think like you want to come in, there's no problem having a bit of pressure on you. I think that gives you a bit more drive to get shit done. But if you're going to put yourself in a position where you've got this enormous weight on your shoulders, I don't recommend that. I think because again, you're not going to be in the right mind space. So yeah, I would say it depends on the situation. But there's nothing wrong with I'm not spending enough time in my family. I'm doing 60, 70 hours a week. you know I'm earning this amount of money fucking get started change your life absolutely you know put the work in and let's get the ball rolling but if you're going homeless then you know sort your situation out and then come back to me yeah you see when you look at change let's say on Instagram for example which is your main platform which will obviously will put your links in here like we do week in week out but to the naked eye it just looks like euphoria it looks blissful perfect easy seamless There must be some horror stories along the way.
28:30Yeah, I think that's the same for everyone, right? We've had people fuck us over. We've had a lot of shit happen within the business. But the reason I post what I post is to inspire people. I'm not there to show off. I've got no interest in showing off, right? I post to inspire the 1%. And what I mean by 1 % is what I found over the years is only around 1 % of people are willing to take action. Only 1 % of people are actually ambitious because everyone can talk, right? Everyone can say, I want to do this for my family. Watch this space. I'm going to put the work in. But when you actually look on paper, it's about actually less than 1%, right?
29:06So I post what I post to motivate and inspire the 1%. And that's our community and that's our members. And they look at what I've got and they have the same attitude. Well, if Ryan can do it, I can do it. Just show me how. And that's what we do, right? So yeah, we've had some horrific times in e-commerce. Absolutely. We didn't make our first sale for 13 months when I started online. And the first hour was£24.99. But the reason I continued is because I trusted the process. I knew it would work. Now, the mentors I had, I'm not going to bad mouth them without them. I wouldn't have started. I wouldn't have, you know, climbed a ladder.
29:41So they wasn't great. With good mentors, I would have got to where what took me 18 months to quit my job, I reckon I could have done it at six months with my work ethic, right? If I had good mentors, I had real support like we offer. So we had some dark times at the beginning. Three months in, I felt like quitting because the noise around me was getting a bit too much. I had people WhatsAppping me at 2am. I had people fucking telling me, you know, laughing at me. I heard friends that I worked with on my day off at work were taking the piss out of me in the kitchen. And it gets to you after a while.
30:15You go, fuck them guys, I'm building something special. But after a while, you sit there and it really gets to you. You know, I used to sit in a chair in my mum's bedroom. I had this little gaming chair. And I used to sit there some nights, I have tears rolling down my eyes, right? Because I'm looking at all this fucking hatred that I'm getting, all these messages. Because back then, I wasn't in anybody, you know? I was broken. So these days, I wouldn't give a fuck, you know? But back then, you know, I'm inexperienced. I'm just starting. And it really affected me. And I said to my business partner, Rhys, who also started with me at the beginning, I said, I don't think I could do this.
30:47I didn't tell him why. I just said, I don't think I could do this, Rhys. You know, it's been three months. and the words he said to me have stuck in my head since that day. And he said, Ryan, if you quit, I'm fucking continuing. And if you do quit, what are your options? Are you just going to work a job for 50 years like everybody else? Fuck that. You can do that. I'm continuing if you quit. I slept on it, woke up, and I thought, you know what? No, he's right. Fuck that. I don't want to be working a job and, well, say towards a pension. Pension's probably one of them fucking exists by the time we're that age in our generation.
31:16And I thought, no, actually, yeah, I don't want to be like the fucking head chef 50 years old, his wife's cheating on him and he's fucking living month to month and stressed out of his fucking head. I don't want to be like that when I'm 50. So I thought, no, I am going to continue. And I kind of had a bit more of a shift in my mindset again, as in, you know what? Fuck these guys. You're fueling me to succeed now. So when you're going through all this pressure and you're looking at this online hate, and I've got thick skin to that shit. I've been on the internet for years now as well. But I know the comments are cruel, absolutely ruthless.
31:46And if you're not used to being insulted by strangers and they get very personal, then that is going to start affecting the way you think, feel, your mental health. Did you have anyone that was a good supporting act to you? Somebody other than Reece, somebody that you could turn to and say, hey, this is bugging me. I need a shoulder to lean on. Yeah. So when I started e-commerce, I then met who's now my wife, Tammy, and she was already doing Amazon FBA. So she was selling her products on Amazon. So we had a lot in common straight away. We met in the workplace. so I used to chat I used to have a little chat with Tammy I had a little chat with Rhys so yeah I had some places to turn I had Tammy and I had Rhys but I think that I think what really got to me is again I business helps you develop as a person right so like I say now if somebody goes Ryan is this or fuck this guy I'm fucking give a fuck you're nobody because if you're talking shit it already shows what level you're on right without even telling me what level you're on so uh back then i i was inexperienced and i cared too much and you know it's like being at school you want to be liked by everybody you want to walk in the workplace and you don't want loads of drama but unfortunately people will not want to see other people succeed they don't want to see you do better you know and i think i think uh when you decide to level up you'll start to realize who your true friends are and you see this you know quite quite often and it's so fucking true, man.
33:04Because before I started, I'd say I had about 50 friends. When I started, say three months in, I had about four. One of my best friends who I grew up with since the age of three, right? Stopped messaging me, blocked me. Because I started online, we didn't have an argument, we didn't have a conversation, because he figured out I was doing something. Because he was always the one that did better than me. He was always the one, oh, you're still working in that restaurant, or I got promotion at Tesco's. Oh, and now I'm working for 999. And you're still at that restaurant are you? You know, like he's always been one step above me in his eyes.
33:33So when he saw that I decided to start creating something for myself, he blocked me. And I couldn't understand it. I understand it a bit better now because I'm like, well, it's because he's insecure, right? He has to be better than everybody else. And because I'm doing something that I guess threatens he's, you know, one level above me, has been just crazy. So you lost your best mate essentially? Yeah, best mate for like 22, 23 years, yeah. So to go back to you saying jealousy is a disease, I concur. I second that. I triple that. Jealousy is an illness. In fact, it's something that I've never, ever been infected with, and I always wonder how people can be riddled with it.
34:14I think, wow, if I see someone doing better than me, I think you carry on going. Lovely job. Because if you have someone that you get on with and you've got a good relationship with them, I could have a real shit day. But then my mate can ring me up and say, I've just won this great deal with this contract or I've just started something new and I can buzz off his energy. It's like, oh shit, so I'm having a nice day now. Because if he wins, I win because we've got a good thing going. Yeah, quiet. I wonder how many people, if they sit there and they're honest with themselves, am I a jealous person?
34:46Be honest with yourselves because if you are, that's a formula to lose immediately because you can't get anywhere unless you help people and support people because people see through that shit. Yeah, yeah. But sometimes it's the circle to win, right? So, you know, like if you're with five losers, you'll be the sixth. If you're with five winners, you'll be the sixth. That's true enough. It's so true, yeah. So I think it's important that you look at your circle, and again, it comes down to choices. Everything you do in life is a choice, right? You can wake up and choose to be miserable. You can wake up and choose to be happy.
35:17Life is what you make it. And it's the same as your friend circles, you know, the places you work. You decided to get a job there. Stop moaning. Stop complaining. If you're not happy, do something about it, right? You've got, you can make the decision to go work somewhere else, or you can make the decision to work for yourself. We live in the world now where you can work for yourself. So everything is driven by the choices that you make. It's a reflection of where you are now, right? Through the things you did or didn't do. That's why you are where you are. And I think a lot of people will, yeah, feel, again, it always comes down to insecurity because they're lazy, because they don't have any motivation, because they don't have a vision.
35:55maybe they grew up that way. Maybe their mum and dad was jealous. There was one time I was driving down the road and a father and a son, the son was probably six, seven years old. And he was like, dad, look, you could see him. I couldn't hear. Dad, look, and he's pointing at my car and his dad looks, and his dad looks away straight away. And I'm thinking, what the fuck, man? If that was me, I'd be saying to my kid, even if I was broke, let's go back fucking 13 years. I'd be like, wow, that's amazing, isn't it? Do you like it? But you could just see it was just filled with jealousy. I drive sometimes people like this just swearing at me for no reason.
36:27Don't even know me. Don't even know me, Liam. It just kills people. But do you know what? Use that fuel. These people will never do anything with their life. They'll always be average. They'll always just work a job. They'll always be keyboard warriors. Again, probably sat in their pants on a keyboard. You know, that guy's a scam. Oh, don't do that. Crusty wank sock on the side. Absolutely, yeah. So we know who these people are. I think, again, when a member will say, oh Ryan just to let you know this guy said I don't give a fuck he doesn't know me number one number two it just shows where he is in his life right I don't respond they're not on my level so yeah this type of jealousy you've got to accept that when you decide to go on that journey for greatness you want to be better than your average person right you want to be able to wake up when you want go to bed when you want which anybody can do by the way but you have to put the work in you also accept the shit that comes with it You know, I've got one member at the moment.
37:23She launched a red light therapy product, right? She's killing it. Shout out to Nicole. She's absolutely killing it. And when she first launched her ads, she had four comments on her ad, basically saying, don't buy this shit, blah, blah, blah. They never purchased the product. They've never purchased it. How do you know that shit? Right? Yeah. And if anything, she's got loads of good feedback now, but she had like these four comments. And I was like, fucking hell, people, strangers that don't even know who you are, what you're about. Don't even know what it is you're doing. will shit on you just because it makes himself somehow feel better.
37:56And I think you have to accept that when you go on that journey. I think you've got to accept you're going to get a lot of good shit. There's a ratio that I live by for every one person that talks shit, there's 100 people that love you. Right? But 100 people just don't voice it. There is so much NFL on ESPN right now. Monday Night Football plus pregame and postgame. NFL Live, NFL Primetime. everything you need to stay on top of every game every week. Unbelievable. And now NFL Network is on the ESPN app. More football, more coverage, more ways to watch. Football's on, all season long, on ESPN and streaming on the ESPN app.
38:39This episode is brought to you by Palmolive. Family time isn't just the big moments. It's weeknight dinners, sitting around the table, everyone talking all at once. So when the plates are empty and the sink is full, use Palmolive Ultra. Palmolive's most powerful formula removes up to 99.9 % of grease, leaving your dishes sparkling clean. And the new convenient pump makes cleaning even easier, so you can spend less time tackling dishes and more time together. Shop now at palmolive.com. Yeah, that's true. But a lot of people are afraid to give someone a compliment because it makes them feel less or they're, I don't know, like the hardest word to say to somebody is, I love you.
39:19It just feels like, oh, I'm really exposing myself here. Similar sort of thing. Paying somebody a compliment is kind of leaving yourself vulnerable. And I think you've got to be confident in yourself to acknowledge the greatness in the man in front of you. And for me, I've always been like, yeah, I'll clap when someone wins. Even if I don't know him, it's like, do you know what? Fair play to you. I'm still laughing in my head about people sticking their finger up at you just because you drive a nice car. But I get it. I see it all the time. I'll tell you what I admire about you the most. And I have done from since day one.
39:52And I also followed your journey years back when you started blogging on your phone, when this all began. So to think that we work together now and you sponsor the show is incredible. And I'm very grateful, by the way, because what people don't realise is because my content and my conversations on here are so graphic and close to the mark, I stretch the limits because I like free speech. YouTube demonetised most of my episodes. So your sponsorship is important. So thank you for that. It's been a pleasure. But one of the main things I admire about you, and bear in mind I keep my eye on the country and communities.
40:27Now, the UK is lacking community. It's broke, divided. It's fucked. You have managed to build a lovely community full of lovely people. I've seen them. I've met them. I've been with you guys. How did you do that? How did you build a community and how have you managed to sustain and keep the following strong and loyal? Well, I noticed very early on in my journey what was missing, right? And it was a community. I'll give you the story of how change started, by the way, because I've not always mentored. I started doing e-commerce. I did e-commerce seven years before I even thought about mentoring, right?
41:03Or five to seven years. So when I started in my journey, I realized that, again, going back to those two Australian brothers, I was like, wow, if there's just more of this where you could just have a group because you don't find it in your day to day life. It's very rare to find someone that roots for you, someone that will go, do you know what? I'm successful. Let me show you what I'm doing. And I thought, why don't I build something where you can put like minded people who are all saying fuck average, who are all saying I want to level up, who are all saying I want to learn e-commerce, who all will help each other level up together.
41:37Well, why don't we build something like that? Because it doesn't exist. Now you look at the UK, I always say, and being very humble with this, there's no one doing what we do. Yeah, there's people out there that will say, I can help you with dropshipping and I do e-commerce and click this link here. Yeah, everybody's doing that shit, but nobody has a community, right? It's always a one-man band. And it's so hard for people to succeed by themselves. That is why we offer the personal one-on-one support. This is why we built the community, that you can see they're real people with real results. We're taking our members away to Vietnam next week.
42:13You know, we've took them to Bali, all over Europe. We do these big retreats, you know, and that was always my vision from the beginning. Create a family, create, you know, a group of individuals that all have the same mindset. Because when I started, apart from recent time, I knew zero people in real life that were willing to support me, that were willing to help me. Nobody, nobody was interested. They all wanted to see me fail. so these retreats are bonding retreats yeah they're not necessary they're not that you don't need it to succeed right but if people go do you know what i wouldn't mind living with ryan for a week yeah get me get me to vietnam or get me to france or greece we've got another trip coming up in france as well but these trips are not necessary by the way these are just extras if you wanted to come but yeah being around members it's just what i always wanted to do i didn't want to be like yeah join me and I've never speak I never meet them I'm never you know and I'm just this guy they know online no this is real shit what we do is real I'm a real person the way I speak on this podcast the way I speak on on Instagram is how I speak in real life as well you know my mindset's the same I don't go right I'm gonna put on a show because I'm filming on my phone no no what you hear is exactly how I am in real life that's why I wanted to build a community you know um and I felt that was lacking in the space so I didn't from the beginning I always thought this would help me if I had this.
43:35And then when it got to the point of us mentoring, that's when I said, hey, we can actually implement this. So let's put members in groups with members. Let's build a real team of experts that offer one-on-one support. So you could jump on phone calls with them, Zoom in. No one's doing that shit. Everyone's trying to automate. Everyone's using AI to automate. You message, you get an AI bot message you back. Fuck that shit. That's not what you need to succeed. You need real people with real results to teach you. And that's what we offer. So it was always a bit of division at the beginning. But when we started mentoring, it was like, yeah, let's implement this.
44:09You've made a shitload of money. I mean, this is a silly question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. I always tell my stepchildren and my son, the silly question is the one you don't ask. So I'm going to ask it. Has making all this money made you happier? 100%. Right. Now, I know that's quite controversial because people will sit there and people will say money does not make you happy. Usually the poor people say that, right? Let's just be real. Money helps with the food that you eat. Money helps with being able to wake up and do what the fuck you want when you want. You can't do that without money, unless you're on benefits, but you're not going to have a great life.
44:48Money allowed me to see my parents travel the world and not have to stress and be overworked. Money allows me to take my little girls to nice places and also spend time with them. Money allows me to, you know, work on my health. When my dad was ill last year, we took him to Germany. It gave us access to the best healthcare in Europe for what he had. So have you noticed I've not mentioned one materialistic thing there? I've not mentioned watches. I've not mentioned cars. Again, things like watches and cars are milestones, right? I never, at the beginning, my purpose was for my mum and dad and my kids.
45:26when I got my first car when I forgot my first Lamborghini I thought this is everything I'm out in it two months later I'm on board as fuck I've never seen you wear any designer clothes by the way no no no just change black tracksuit these tracksuit bottoms are about 20 pounds I've got them on Amazon I think so yeah I don't wear designer I think the saying is true money doesn't make you happy I think if you're just chasing materialistic things because that never ends for me I never had money so of course I started for money but the end goal was different I think your goal being money and your goal being freedom are two different goals, right?
46:00Because you'll see people that have money, but yet they still do 80, 90 hours a week, chasing more, more, more, more, more. With me, I'm like, I'll make my money work for me, but the freedom is my goal. I'm not going to ever sacrifice that. I'm able to wake up on a Monday morning, do what the fuck I want, go to bed when I want, wake up when I want, you know, and that is success. You say what you want and you speak how you like. And I like the fact that you said you don't change who you are for anyone, online, offline, in person, and you don't mind effing and jeffing. And, well, a lot of people think they have to completely reinvent themselves to be successful.
46:37I've never changed. If I feel like saying fuck, I'm going to say it. Gordon Ramsay, he's done very well out of saying fuck. Yeah. So I would also say, you know, don't completely think you need to change who you are as a person. Change your attitude. Yeah, I think it's more important than ever as well because in a world where everything's just so fake, just be you. Totally. Say you're going to offend people, whatever you say. Me jumping on this podcast, I know I'm going to offend people by saying people are lazy. They don't have work ethic. Well, it's true, right? But I'm not there to be liked by everybody, by the way.
47:11I don't think you should go into business wanting to be liked. So I've never had that approach. Like after the first three months where I put up with all that shit, I had a whole, you know, another shift in my mindset where I was like, fuck what everybody else thinks. I'm doing this for me and I'll always be real. And again, in a world where everything's so fake, right? I think you being you is what separates you from everybody else. And that's how we've built a community. That because the results we showed, they're real. The businesses we build, they're real. The way I am, it's real, right? There's no fake shit there.
47:40This is real, right? And all these other guys are all fake. They're all making the same noise. There's no one doing what we do. So I think it's important that you stick to, you know, you remember where you've come from. You stick to who you actually are. And you're not there to impress anyone. I'm there to motivate and inspire the 1%. I couldn't give a shit about the 99 % in all honesty. These people are never going to do anything with their life. These people are going to waste everybody's time. These people are jealous. These people, I'm there to motivate and inspire the 1 % that go, hey, Ryan, I want to fucking level up.
48:07And this is my why. Well, let's go. Do you know what one of my questions was? What is the secret ingredient to success? I mean, I think you've answered the question by being real. That's always been my ingredient to get into where I want to be in life. It's just, I won't bullshit no one. You either like me, you're indifferent, you hate me. I don't actually care as long as I'm being true to myself, true to my word and true to you. Because I don't want to insult people by lying or pretending that I'm something that I'm not. But other than the being real in such a fake society, I couldn't agree anymore.
48:41Is there any other secret ingredient that's required? Get yourself around good people. That's so important. I think, you know, if you've got mates that want to go out every weekend, you'll probably go out every weekend, right? If you've got mates that are saying you're doing well, you're probably not going to step out of your comfort zone to level up because you're doing well when your friends are. I think when you get yourself around good people that are going to be transparent and honest with you, you want to be the dumbest person in the room, right? You want to walk in a room and everybody's got more money than you, more success than you.
49:09And you need to be made to feel lazy, right? I think a lot of people lie to themselves. They go, because I work a job, I'm not lazy. No, you are fucking lazy. You're working a job because you have to work a job. right? You have to keep a roof over your head. It's the only reason you do it. You're lazy because you don't go home and then build your own shit. You put yourself in a position where you're just quick dopamine, quick dopamine, quick dopamine, social media, social media, Netflix, oh, watch one more series, you know, let's have a beer tonight. And it's just all this bullshit that doesn't help you level up.
49:39So I think being around good people that motivate you, that inspire you, that say it how it is, like when you look at our community, our members, we haven't bullshit anyone, right? If somebody comes to me, they go, Ryan, I've got this really good idea. If I know it isn't going to work, I'll say, mate, look, it's not a good idea because of X, Y, and Z. However, look over here because this here could be a really good product to look for, right? So I think just putting yourself around good people will set yourself up to succeed 100%. Again, a lot of the time, it's not what you know, it's who you know.
50:08And also, I'm going to come to that, but if you are lazy and you're honest enough to acknowledge that you're lazy, that's even more reason to be successful because then once you've made it, you can be lazy. 100%. So let's say, you know, you love going to the gym as an example, but you have to either work out in the morning or the evening because you've got your day-to-day commitments. Why don't you work so fucking hard at your business that you can wake up and hit the gym lunchtime? You can hit the gym when the gyms are dead. I love going out on weekdays because it's dead. Everybody's at work, right?
50:41And it's crazy because I always think to myself, why doesn't everybody do what I do? Why don't nobody ask what I do? You know, sometimes you sit there, again, in a very humble way, and you think, why me? Why me? I'm just a normal guy. You know, I grew up in Southeast London in Thamesmead, and I was smoking weed every day. And, you know, I was bunking school. I had no GTS. How have I done this? But then the only thing that has separated me is having a why, willing to invest into myself and work ethic. It's the only things that are separating me from fucking 99 point whatever percent. so yeah I find it I still find it crazy to this day yeah yeah you mentioned people people as you're saying people I'm thinking I wonder who the most interesting people you've met are if you can say that is because I know there's going to be there's going to be confidentiality clauses within your community but is there anyone that you can speak about openly like some of the most interesting people you've worked with yeah just to give a bit of the history of the change part so we did e-commerce for years before even mentoring and I used to get and when I've bought my first Lamborghini, I posted on Instagram, never really used Instagram before that.
51:48And I had a lot of messages. What is it you do, Ryan? Blah, blah, blah. Not through friends I knew, just random followers. This is when Instagram was amazing. And you'd post one thing and you'd get fucking a thousand new followers. You're like, wow. Not anymore, unfortunately. And I had all these random messages. And I used to jump on calls for free. And I used to sit there sometimes for an hour. This is what I do. This is where you need to look. This is where you need to start. And then I'll check in with them two weeks. Hi, mate. How's everything going? Oh, I haven't started yet because of this has happened and life's happened.
52:14And I'm like, the fuck? I told you what you need to go and do. So anyway, everybody was just wasting my fucking time and I couldn't understand it. I was thinking if that was me, I'd be like, right, mate, let me get that shit done. Let's get on another call after. Let's build me an empire. So I spoke to my business partner recently. He said, why don't we charge for our time? You don't need to do that, Vine. I was reluctant, again, to mentor. Again, I want to be transparent, right? My goal was never to mentor. I didn't have a passion in mentoring. I didn't, that wasn't like, oh, I'd love to help people.
52:45No, I got in it for my family and to change my family's life. But when people started wasting my time on social media, my business partner, Risa, put that together. I didn't want to because, again, Forex was rife. Everybody was like, copy my signals on WhatsApp and fucking make 100 grand overnight. Everyone was just scamming everyone. And I didn't want to put myself in that space. But in the end, I agreed with Risa, said, right, look, we'll put something little together I've always some basic training videos, what to do. Now, if anybody messages me now, well, you can pay a couple of hundred quid for my time, right?
53:15And we just went with it, Liam, and it blew up. It blew up because a few people were joined. They'd love the training. They'd love the personal support. They'd get results. They'd get a real business. So they refer their uncle. They refer their friend. So the community just started to grow and grow and grow. We started adding more training, more training. We then bring our first expert on board, Anthony. Shout out to Anthony, our marketing consultant, one of the best in the UK. he was getting the members even bigger results so it's just a kind of compound effect it just grew grew grew grew and changes what you see today so it's kind of accidental in a way but it was never i'm not going to lie to people and say there was a passion of mine i absolutely love doing this it just kind of just happened right um now having a community we got a lot of attention from that so a lot of people we work with going to your question floyd mayweather uh jason derulo uh Lin O'Dlin is a good friend of mine.
54:06So he's the Cobra Kai director. I do a lot of business with him. If you want to look at the UK, people like Connor Benn, you know, I've done work with Connor for years. I was actually at his house not long ago. Eddie Hall, I do a lot of work with Eddie Hall. Martin Ford, a bunch of people, man. It goes on and on. But that all started from, you know, you help one influencer. So example, you know, you work with Martin Ford. Martin Ford's a good friend of Eddie. So he has a business. He sees results. What does he do? He goes to Eddie. Eddie, you need to check these guys out. Right? Whether they're in the gym one day and it just comes up in conversation or whatever, then Eddie Hall reaches out to you.
54:43What can you do for me? And I'm like, look, let's organize a meeting. So that's how we started. It's people who know people. And that's kind of how that works. A little bit like, no, actually, I think you just followed me on Instagram. I can't remember how we... There is so much NFL on ESPN right now. Monday night football, plus pregame and postgame. NFL live, NFL primetime. Everything you need to stay on top of every game, every week. Unbelievable. And now NFL Network is on the ESPN app. More football, more coverage, more ways to watch. Football's on, all season long, on ESPN and streaming on the ESPN app.

I've had accounts removed over the years, and there's always been a few select people I go back and follow.
56:05You was one of them. I was just interested where you were going. I think we got talking. I noticed there was law within you. And I'll tell you another observation. If I've got it wrong, tell me. But when Connor Benn had all that controversy about being drug tested, now he was working with a load of people, and they all started falling off. It seemed like they couldn't be associated with him because of the taboo subject matter. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I noticed that you didn't stop working with him. Absolutely. I always believed, I think, again, just knowing Conor and speaking with Conor, I just believed he was innocent.
56:41And that come to light in the end anyway. But I just believed he was innocent. And, you know, until, because I think he got found guilty and then it went back to trial again or whatever the story was. I didn't really follow it, right? I don't follow people for, you know, anything political anything that they've got going on there everything's just straight up business with me but me and Connor we're good friends we talk a lot my wife talks to his wife Victoria so you know we become really good friends and he respects me a lot because you know I was there when everybody dropped him I think there was one sponsor that stood by him which now he still stands by for that and yeah I just I never really thought about that side of it even though I believed he was innocent I always stuck to just business right with Connor and we did some good business and then obviously he then was allowed to fight again the charges got dropped whatever and then he did the Eubank fights and I was at his house just before the second Eubank fight and yeah he's a great guy if you know Connor everything's about his kids that's what I absolutely admire about that guy he posts Ferrari and Rolls Royce on his Instagram everything's about his kids when he moved into his new house he's walking me around showing me the new house he's like I've got the stables there for the kids we're turning that room there into this for the kids I'm doing a new thing around the swimming pool for the kids Everything was for the kids.
57:56And I fucking love that. Because you think a lot of people in that position is about designer and bling. And it's not, you know, the kids and that kind of get left out of it. Everything. Absolutely everything was for these kids. Absolutely love that. Yeah, that's nice. Another thing I've noticed about you, compared to all the other big creators as well, although you post a lot of content as to what you've achieved, you've kept very private, really, compared to all the other big creators. Why have you chose to do that? The content I post is to inspire. It's real content. But I post the stuff that inspires.
58:30It will inspire people. I try not to post stuff that shows off, right? Because I think there's two different kind of types of content there. You can post cards that inspire. You can post cards as a fuck you. But I'm not that type of person. So I try to be smart with what I post. A lot of time, it could be accidental, to be fair, because I'm running my own e-commerce businesses. I've got my own stuff going on. And so sometimes I'm a little bit more inactive. I've never been a social media person before posting the Lambo and then seeing how many people were inspired. I was like, fucking no, that's amazing.
59:01Again, never posted show off. I was proud. I've hit a milestone. I've had my parents at this point. So I was trying to motivate other people that maybe were in a position that I was in before. So yeah, maybe it's a little bit accidental. I'm not someone to put absolutely everything on Instagram, right? So like if me and my wife Tammy are, I don't know, having a meal, I don't think, right, you look at every table, they're all getting their phones out. You know, sometimes I don't post that. If I take my little girl to the cinema, why not post that? You know, not for any reason. I think, well, there's a time and place for everything.
59:31I'm having a bit of private time, my little girl here. I think I give enough time to people on social media. I get back to all my messages on social media. Personally, I don't have a VA. I don't have a PA doing it. I do all my messages. I send voice notes. It's me. And if I don't answer your message, it's probably because you're wasting my time. so um you know when it's my time it's my time right like in the mornings I might not do any dms for two hours because I want to relax I want to sit outside in the sun I want to whatever it is so when you say being private it's because I get to dictate where I put my time and sometimes I choose to have a bit of time maybe with my little girls and I don't want to post and I don't want to post certain things but I am quite open to be honest on social media I think you know what you see is what you get.
1:00:15Like I don't, I don't try and sugarcoat anything, you know, again, everything I post is 100 % real. There's no, there's no like exaggeration or anything like that. Before I ask you the final question, which you're going to absolutely hate, by the way. Okay. But I'll surprise you. Looking forward to it. What would you say to someone in their 20s or even 30s now, or anybody that, they want something more out of life, but they're a little bit lost with no guidance, They need a bit of direction. From a man that's lived in his mum's bedroom at 26 and you've made a hell of a life for yourself, what advice would you give someone now that needs it?
1:00:55I'm always going to be biased with that because I started with a mentor. So I'm always going to say get a mentor. A lot of entrepreneurs I network with, so not members, entrepreneurs outside of change and why do, you know, eight-figure, nine-figure entrepreneurs, they have mentors. It's the same story every single time. In the world that I live in, right, in the space that I'm in, I would say get yourself a mentor and there's millions of mentors to choose from by the way that isn't a sales pitch it isn't come mess there's millions of mentors get yourself a mentor but that's me being biased because that's how I started even when I used to read books it used to tell me the importance of having a mentor I used to read before I even looked for a mentor you know I kept seeing it in almost every book how at some point in their journey they were mentored by somebody that's more successful than them then they get to 10 million a year now to be mentored by someone who's doing 100 million a year right so um get yourself a mentor but create that vision you know you gotta uh you gotta see it to believe it believe it to achieve it right and just look at people that have what you want right and think to yourself if they can do it i can do it because that's what i did it was very simple and look at the people that have what you want and ask questions and what would be their first step if they was skint and couldn't afford a mentor well i'm a big believer of money makes money to an extent, right?
1:02:11So I think, you know, money's always going to give you the best access to the best tools, to the best resources. Like you look at some of these apps, okay, they're only like £10 a month, but still money you need to be able to access the best features of that tool that's going to help you make money. So I would say, I would say start reading up about money, start learning how money works. Stop looking at money as this thing that you're fucking emotionally attached to, because again, if you're emotionally attached to money, you're fucked, like you're completely fucked. You need to lose that emotional attachment to money.
1:02:39Money comes and goes. See money as a tool to make more money. Right? So we talk about, you know, work ethic and discipline being the secret, but understanding how money actually works. When you understand that, wow, it's a fucking, your mind, you just think differently. Yeah, absolutely. You look at things as you start looking at investments versus expenses. Fuck expenses. I need to invest. You keep going over here, the money starts to grow. So start reading books. If you haven't got much money, again, you can download books for free on a lot of websites. You can buy a book for 10 quid. Start reading books on how money works.
1:03:12Now, if you've got a job, again, I'm not a financial advisor. So I'm just throwing this out there. Like, just an idea, I guess. Get a second job, get a third job, cut back on your subscriptions, live below your means, build up some cash. If you want to leverage debt, leverage debt. But it has to be a calculated risk of your leverage debt, right? But again, it's each to their own. I'm not a financial advisor. So I can't really say too much. When I started, or I can tell you, it's my experience when I started, you know, I saved a bit of money, talked about cutting back on my subscription, but also you leveraged a bit of debt so I can invest that money to learn this skill to then start making more money.
1:03:48So I think again, it's each to their own. But start with books, books, or if you haven't got any money, start with books, because books really started to change the way my mind worked. I went from, you know, oh, you know, I'm doing the same as everybody else to fuck average. I want to fucking level up. These guys are fucking smashing it. And actually we do live in the best generation ever in terms of opportunity. I just need to be shown what to do, how to do it. And I know I'm not going to fail myself. I've got the work ethic. Let's fucking go. So it started with books. Yeah. You reprogrammed your mind.
1:04:20Absolutely. Yeah. And I'm with you on that 100%. So the final question, which you're going to hate, and I'll tell you why you're going to hate it. Because I know how you operate. You don't pitch your business to no one. You offer the platform, you offer the service. If anything, you try and talk people out of it. If you're lazy, it's not for you. If you work shy, it's not for you. If you're not prepared to put in the work, it's not for you. You're not going to get rich quick. I always see you pushing back on, but you try and sort of dissuade people rather than dissuade them. So I've never heard you pitch your business.
1:04:52So that's the question. Pitch change to me okay so yeah absolutely you are right i do push people back right so i talk about time wasters i talk about people that are happy being comfortable like what i do is not for them don't get me wrong if you're if you work a nine-to-five because there'll be some people watching this going oh but you need nurses and you need absolutely and i appreciate all of those right working in those kind of jobs but if you're somebody stacking shelves in tesco's and you're not happy will do something about it. Again, what's your why? Are you willing to put the work in?
1:05:26Are you willing to trust the process? Do you understand it's not a get-rich-quick scheme? And if you have the right answers to all those questions, then take action and let's get started. I think I get a lot of people that are happy being comfortable. If you're happy being comfortable, then don't even stop. You need to be uncomfortable. You truly need to be uncomfortable with being comfortable. If you're comfortable, it's fucking pointless. you're still in your comfort zone why do I sign up to change though rather than someone else if somebody asked me that question I would usually say well you tell me right because there's nobody doing what we do you look at the affiliations we have with celebrities you look at the community that we've built they're real members they're real retreats real events the messages you get back on social media real messages from me not VAs I'm not sending you some you know automated fucking DM look at go and message these guys that are on the level that I'm on and see if you get a response like you get a response from me.
1:06:21You're not going to get that response. You're going to get an automated message, drive you through to some free trial to get you to join. I will be the first one that says, don't join me, right? I only want people in our system, right? That want to win, that want to level up, that are willing to put the work in. They're the people that we want. The people that come through and go, Ryan, I'm fucking sick and tired of being average. I want to make more money. This is my why. They're the people that we want to attract. But that's the way I am on social media eliminates time wasters, eliminates the wannabes, the fakes, and we get the gold.
1:06:52We get the people that come through that are hungry. And that's how we've built the community that we have. If we attracted absolutely everybody, do you really think that we could have got 50 members to Bali, you know, across the other side of the world? No, they wouldn't come. They're not invested. These people are invested into themselves. They want a mission. They want a journey. We've got members doing half a million a month, but it's through the messaging that we give that attracts these types of people. where it's like, if you wasted our time, we're not interested. We're not like everybody else.
1:07:21Join us, join us, join us. No, you make that decision. We're not pushing you over the line. We don't offer free trials. You know, there's a reason we don't offer free trials because we're not trying to take anybody and everybody. We want people that actually want to win, that are willing to put the work in. My worst nightmare, Liam, is waking up and just dealing with fucking time wasters every day. Oh, it killed my brain. So I actually try to drive them away through messaging. So when you ask, why should I join you? I think when you look at just change as a whole, the community and the celebrities and the train, not to mention the experts.
1:07:52We've got a full team of e-commerce experts, marketing consultants. There's nobody that's offering that. It's personal support. That's the difference between us and everybody else. And what's the first step for someone that's watched this that thinks, I actually want to find out a little bit more? So you can go to change.co.uk. All the information's there. We do free webinars every single week, free to tune in. So it's free value. We do that on a Tuesday, Thursday, and a Sunday at 8pm. I usually put the links for those in my story on social media and just drop me a message if you've got any other questions but make sure you you check out all the information there's a what I do video on my Instagram again you can look at that video and see if it's for you or not before you even message me so just look at all the information and I think you need to say in your head do I actually want to level up because I think that's equally as important as checking out my page do I actually want more from life am I actually happy with what I have am I going to be happy five years from now doing what I'm doing now.
1:08:45And if you do want to level up and you want to change your life, then start proceeding and looking at the information. And Instagram is your main platform where you communicate with people, which is at Ryan JB. Yeah, I only use Instagram, yeah. That's obviously put in the description like you are week in, week out being our sponsor. Anything else you want to say off the bat? No, I just want to thank you, Liam, for allowing me to sponsor your channel. I think, again, I resonate with you a lot because you're very, you just say it how it is off camera. You're the exact same. I can say that on camera.
1:09:15And it's been a pleasure. I think it's been a pleasure. And I'm looking forward to doing business with yourself. We've been talking about an idea that we've got for the last two, three months now where we've been speaking for years, but this specific idea, which you know I'm talking about, I'm excited to get that ball rolling with yourself. And we'll keep them guessing. Absolutely. And you won't need to guess if you carry on watching, liking and subscribing to the channel. I'm going to put all of Ryan's contact details in the description. Give him a follow. You've got nothing to lose. Have a little look.
1:09:46Explore. You never know. You could be driving around in a Lamborghini, getting people sticking their finger up at you in a few years' time. Ryan, that was a joy. Liam, thank you. And thank you. I really appreciate it. And I hope the audience do too, because you allow me this platform to keep bringing these new guests week in, week out. So good health, sir. Thank you.
1:10:13There is so much NFL on ESPN right now. Have you heard that McDonald's spicy chicken McNuggets made with spicy tempura and a blend of aged cayenne are back? Remember to grab a few extra napkins. For a limited time at participating McDonald's.
