In short
Vikkstar’s debut USA headline show and his recent Gumball 3000 supercar rally, plus stories from meeting King Charles, a near-death windshield incident, and his World Cup viewing plans.
Guests
The episode features Vikkstar as the main guest, with recurring hosts/companions including “Chip” (his tour manager) and “Mark” (the host). Other named participants appear briefly: Theo (mentioned as part of the squad), and “Josh and Liam van” (Sidemen-related context). No formal guest bios are provided beyond roles.
Key claims
- Vikkstar’s USA headline show is his first headline and he’s playing at Marquee in New York (GA nearly sold out; tables/balcony mentioned).
- In Gumball 3000 (Miami to Mexico City), a car ahead shattered the Bentley windshield; if the debris had been higher, “we would probably all be dead.”
- He met King Charles at Royal Albert Hall for the King’s Trust 50th anniversary; he was told to wait for the handshake.
- He says Mexico crowds are less EDM-focused than the US/UK; Monterrey had an extremely energetic crowd.
Notable examples
- Celebrity poker tour in Vegas: he cleaned out a table, then got cold-bluffed by a girl who’d reached final tables multiple times.
- World Cup “blind ranking”: stadium #1, beer garden #2, holiday #3, office #4, hungover on the couch #5.

0:06Chip:Come on! Anyways, as you can hear from the chanting, we've got none other than Vikkstar! Come on! Here we are! Come on, a couple of claps in the back! I'll take what I can get at this point. Honestly, anyways, thank you for filling in for AB here. Yeah, I felt like I could fill those shoes comfortably. If there's anyone that could do the job, it's you, mate. Huh? If there's anyone that could do the job, it's you. Oh, thanks. Thanks for that. but it's a big day for you it is yeah true my uh yeah debut usa show is this your first ever usa show it's my first like headline show yeah mate so to the people that don't know we're gonna be up by the way i thought it was like a 10 11 p.m thing when i got the word through that we were looking at a 1 30 ko a.m that's that's when you know it's serious mark is that what time you're on yes you better you might not make it you've been on the beds already you need to chill out for about two hours then you need to come down and go back up i am kind of sauce if you keep
1:03Cal:going you're not gonna make it you're gonna pull a reeve at tomorrowland first of all talk to the wrong guy i will make it i just might be in a different state to the bottom now security will drag you out of the booth they're gonna be like get this fucker out of it bro's gonna fall over the dj decks and turn off the music i was just watching the canada game their opening game and i went and watched it with the pitch side boys uh the bar was rammed we sat in the corner all going well couple of ciders having a good time this guy comes up to me at the bar when I'm ordering some beers to the boys and he goes can I get you a shot I'm like no man I got a podcast but thank you though all good I go sit down carrying on these American guys all walk over same guy with a tray of tequilas we're in the car and we're like boys fucking and it was one of them things where it's like really couldn't say no cups filled up to here oh by the way no it's not even murderers and they love tequila it's a main thing and it's my least favorite shot i was like you got sambuca like nah i had a thing just like that when i was playing in the celebrity poker tour
2:04Chip:in vegas i don't know if i told you guys no i'll tell you about that what happened so when we were in vegas on our big big session trip um i went to play in the celebrity poker tour which was awesome it's like 100 celebrities in la playing poker some people can play some people can't and they had like 10 different tables people are playing on. So they put me on a table with some NFL players and some ex NFL players. So massive dudes. I just have this vision of you scrunched up in the corner of the poker table. I promise it was, it was NFL players and then Mark D 'Amelio. So yeah, Charlie and her dad.
2:39Yeah. Charlie D 'Amelio's dad, this interesting dynamic. And none of these guys can really play poker. I'm not great, but they also couldn't really play. And then they just start ordering whiskeys and they're like yeah whiskey for the table and you see every single one of them has one i'm like no i'm fine but they're playing quite loose already and i'm already taking their chips so you guys know that's a bad look if i'm sat there sober with all these guys taking their chips so that's why i'm like okay i have to get on it it's half a cup of whiskey i can't even down it in one i hit that and then that actually makes me start playing more aggressively yeah but i'm taking more of their chips i pretty much cleaned out the whole table i made it to the top table and then i got completely bluffed out by one of the girls cold sober you were three whiskeys yeah yeah pretty much i got bluffed so badly because i played against the poker pro that you follow what's his name brad owens brad owens from the table i took him out on a pot feeling good and then how much how much those like what's the what did the winner get in those i think it was like 40 grand for top prize there what was the buy-in um that's a celebrity promotion yeah so the sponsors covered the buy-in and yeah i got to the final table and i forgot on her name one of the girls there she was talking as if she's never played poker before and that's why i was just going in heavy against her and then i find out afterwards that yeah she's been the final table like three times and she did get lucky to beat me in the hands, but I had no business going deep on those hands.
4:11I was just a bit drunk, having a bit of fun. I was also getting abused by all the Americans. They kept calling me Harry Potter and I was getting rattled. No, I would say anything and they'd be like, they just repeat me and mock me. They actually rattled me a bit.
4:23Chip:They love repeating the British accent here. Can I have a bottle of water? Tuesday,
4:32Cal:innit?
4:32Chip:Tuesday Just fuck off you numbs Harry Potter Are you Harry Potter? Have you Are you Wait Are you still On the gumball thing Or did you just do The Mexico part of it? I did the whole thing Miami to Mexico City 3000 miles So it's completely finished It finished yesterday With the World Cup finals Yeah Finals The World Cup opening game Which I skipped To fly here and come And be with my boys Oh Thank you Of course
4:57Cal:To fly and do your show How was the I could have come in tonight But I came to see the boys Oh that's a shame I'm not gonna lie. Can I point one thing out? Are you wearing a 4k fireplace t-shirt, bro? Yeah, I'm trying to get 100 million views. Just standing still.
5:14Chip:Yeah, we'll just keep the frame long.
5:16Cal:The jacket is nice. So very big.
5:18Chip:Thank you. It is supreme. Yeah, it is. How was the gumball experience this year? Unreal. Yeah. Best one yet for you? It's my third one. In some ways, yes. But overall the first one we did which was Vietnam to Singapore I'm not sure anything will top that experience but I also would not repeat that experience because every day I thought I was going to die no word of a lie driving those roads with no speed limits under police escort like was insane sketch yeah fun but sketch so how was this one so where do you go you go from Miami and what's the route Miami to Amelia Island um then all the way through Mississippi Alabama to to New Orleans.
6:00Chip:So we didn't stop there. We just drove straight from Amelia Island to New Orleans. It is Louisiana. That place is an in real life GTA lobby. Oh my word.
6:13Cal:In what way though? There's people tweaking out on the streets. There's people partying on the streets. There's like these party buses going down the street with people leaning out of the windows twerking. That's your type of spot. Where was it? New Orleans. but um everyone's on the street that we drove through they have like big parties just every weekend on the street people are out just getting on it the club was sick crazy energy wait is that
6:38Chip:just like a was they celebrating anything or it's just a standard day standard apparently a bit of a standard week was a monday morning they were kind of celebrating gumball coming in because all 100 supercars went down bourbon street or bourbon street which is their like main party game as gaff yeah true that's quite niche actually um what car were you driving um we were in a
6:57Cal:lovely pink uh bentley bentaga yeah whose car was it uh we it was a rental and uh it ended did you see the clip of the oh my god i did through the windshield so yeah gc's driving flicks up off i think the wheel of a car in front bang straight through the glass and it hit the dash and then went up into the glass so if that had been about a foot higher he would probably be dead we would probably all be dead it looked like a final destination thing you know where something goes through the windscreen from a car in front like yeah where the fucking logs come off so mental that was horrifying so that happened uh car's gone um then hard rock sent a helicopter to carry on from halfway past new orleans to austin texas yeah and we uh we flew for the rest to the rally.
7:45Chip:So wait, you're just now getting helicopters to each spot? Yeah, I know. And then, and then, and then the jet.
7:51Cal:This is some fuck ass bitch shit. No, the jet. Fuck you. I was not going to play this. Oh, my Bentley got fucking smashed windscreen. So what did it, I just got a helicopter. You just flew everywhere. Yeah, I just got a helicopter from the rest of it. Crazy. It wasn't mine. It was thanks to hard work. Oh, thank you for clarifying it weren't your helicopter, mate. Yeah, I wouldn't, I wouldn't have done it. Like, I was happy to hitchhike. I hitchhiked in the media car for one leg. I was like, boy he's filming why did hard rocks and it was that the sponsor of the they sponsored the rally and they were also rolling on the rally so they just said as a friend of hard rock we got you
8:24Chip:covered hard rock kind of respect we all recognize real we're friends with hard rock as well hard rock love us i'll tell you when i got on that jet i had a hard rock yeah yeah yeah i bet yeah i don't know if i'm so which was the best stop your favorite stop on that journey you know what so austin was cool um didn't expect so many like people to show up for that it was really good vibes played a really cool club there it was the stop after that so the first stop in mexico monterey i don't know if you've seen the clips that is the craziest festival crowd i've ever seen in my life in 10 years 12 years wait where do you say monterey yeah i've been there really
9:01Cal:yeah i went i went i went there you know when i got engaged on my road trip i went there and they were doing a car kind of like a car meet i think that's why it's so lit and it's not far
9:12Chip:from that place carmel by the sea and they were doing classic car week and that's when i sent a video into the chat being like boys i'm driving next to a bagai oh shit oh wow and it was um i
9:24Cal:got to carmel by the sea just on a normal stop and i was like oh i can't get a hotel i had to pay for one night like maybe two thousand dollars for a three-star hotel what yeah i stayed in it was honestly a motel but there was nothing else but yeah it's a monterey it's like a big car that's what they said they have a huge car culture so maybe like 60 70 000 people came down to see the gumball cars yeah then they waited for like six hours because it took people so long to cross the mexican border they waited so long to see all the cars come in we started djing as soon as that finished so we had a swarm of people running through we were starting super late i'd like lost most of my set time so i only got a 15 minute set and i was thinking in my head okay it's empty now it's not going to be full until i'm halfway into my set like yeah a couple like five ten minutes by the second drop of the first my intro there were 30 40 000 people in the in the in the mixer so for me that yeah i would say again it's probably like my first music festival was like edm festival was miami ultra 2015 so what 11 years later i've never in my life seen a crowd that energetic well it's better for you playing here isn't it because this is it's better for you playing in America because this is EDM is their thing Mexico as well Mexico is huge on EDM it's still there but it's not quite no it's non-existent like they don't really pop with it that much EDM in the UK and that's when you have to start putting drum and bass in your set you know yeah I'll whip some drum and bass tonight just for you boys I would hope so New York ain't gonna know what hit them I'm really excited for your set tonight because I saw I went on to the so he's playing at a place called Marquis and I went onto the Instagram page with Kyle yesterday and Alan played there a week ago.
11:07Cal:Yep. Did the same thing that you're doing tonight. That's my bro.
11:10Chip:And then guess who's following up after you? Martin Garrix. He's got a bit of work to do after Vic sells it down. Oh, you put yourself in some good circles now.
11:20Cal:Vic, well done. This is a pretty big thing.
11:21Chip:Yeah, it's a crazy one.
11:22Cal:By the way, is it a club or is it a rooftop? Because it's in two different things.
11:26Chip:That's a club.
11:27Cal:It's a club, yeah. Mark, you do have a rooftop. They've got rooftops. I didn't know if you were playing on the roof for if you're playing in the club there is one called the edge which is on the 72nd floor and it's a big sticking out glass one is that the one oh yeah so maybe i'll get there if this goes that would be that's the one with a glass floor though so i'm actually i do want to play there
11:45Chip:i would love to play maybe next time i've done i could just go there as a tourist i've done it and i've done it and i stepped on it for five seconds i jump off yeah i got a picture of me lying down and i don't know how i did it so i'll i'll watch your your show from crazy you can sit on the steps at the back yeah yeah yeah that that's what i ended up doing um yeah that's kind of fucked but yeah this marquee spot like this is one of the biggest clubs in new york yeah so it's not like it's actually insane that you've got this so the come-ups be mad yeah i don't understand man's never been in marquee when it's shut down i'm trying to understand the vibe so
12:18Cal:it's the vibe so it's a club but it's a table club typically is it going to be like crowd watching a performance or is it going to be you playing a club and everyone's in the club like do you know what I'm saying? We've nearly sold out GA which is I think 400 tickets and I think it's got a pretty decent dance floor by the looks of things and tables around and then tables I think around and maybe on the balcony as well so where have you put us? You're on my DJ table just behind me you know what I'll do I'll get my fake tits on
12:50Chip:and I'll just start shaking yeah you guys can be my booth booth girls yeah because at the moment you just got hella dudes no that's how I like it a DJ booth full of men that's the one That's proper, mate. Well, you got Theo there as well, so that'll definitely make things interesting.
13:05Cal:Yeah, apparently you just got the whole squad rolling up. Theo says everyone's invited. This is why I started DJing, so all the boys can have a free night out. Thank you, bro. Me included, because we've been paying to go to club. I was like, hang on, if I can just make the music, play the music, free night out for the boys. You might see me run up your bill behind you, just don't worry about it. I'm not putting my card down, and if they ask me who's paying, I'm going to point at you. If you see a lot of champagne rolling up behind you, don't stress. I got two bottles on my rider. Let's make it four.
13:38Cal:Maybe five. We're celebrating a big night. He's already asking for more. First headline show ever. I'm going to be talking to him. I just want to let you guys know on Vicks PA, he said he wants this. Chip is my tour manager. Yeah.
13:51Chip:That would actually be. Oh, God. Most expensive tour ever. No profit ever made. he's walking away owing the club's money every night yeah big point
14:00Cal:why have I not made any money oh it's just me don't worry about it it's hard to make money touring as a DJ honestly but surely you do
14:08Chip:so many gigs that it does become probable you do like a hundred a year yeah that's the thing and it has to scale up it's like YouTube has it been building up since you it's starting to yeah really build up but there are times where I have to book my own international flights and then I'm like okay I'm just doing this for free now but I love the vibe so it's fine.
14:27Cal:Doing it for the love of the game and that's what you want to be doing really. Well for a bit. It's nice to walk away and say oh I've earned a bit of money. Always a good thing when you're doing it for the love of it though. All right cool.
14:38Chip:Since that's the case for one month I take home all the fellas profit and you just do it for the love of the game. How much do you love this podcast?
Read the full transcript
14:45Cal:Not that much. But YouTube only then. Yeah I do for the love of the game.
14:51Chip:What about the World Cup? Obviously you're over here but only the Simon boys are doing what a bit of it? Yeah, we're hitting two games in Texas. The Croatia one and then what's... Wait, oh, what's the other one that you're doing? Germany Curacao. Is that how it's said? Is that how you say it? Yeah, Curacao, yeah. I thought that was a... I've been saying it wrong then
15:11Cal:because I've been saying something else. How do you say it? Let's not talk about it. Go on, give it a shot. I've been saying Curacao.
15:16Chip:I think it's Curacao. Can I get back yet, boys? Oh, these guys. Josh and Liam van, the thing won't know. And then the first England game. Yeah, that's going to be class. So you guys are filming videos for that? And look, I'm not a football guy, but I'm excited. The buzz here is different. Like, if there's something for me to attend football-wise. Yeah, when I was at that bar,
15:35Cal:that was the first time I'd seen proper buzz to walk up in New York. And it was kind of bumping in there. Are they supporting Canada then? Is that little brother? Yeah, so by the way, it was Canada. Half Canadian in the bar, half of Scotland.
15:48Chip:Really? Mate, I've heard Scotland have just taken over New York.
15:50Cal:I'm walking around in England's top. oh no they were giving me beans but they were so lovely though yeah they were all nice even
15:57Chip:buy me a couple drinks well yeah smells like it right oh give me a break give me a break i'm on a six week holiday this is all day for me that's it um but yeah so you guys are doing those two and then do you go back because i know harry's staying on a bit he's gonna join us for our um our road trip to boston yeah i'm jealous that sounds unreal so yeah we're doing no i must i must return home I've been here for, yeah, it will be like over two weeks, two and a half weeks by the time we're done. Yeah. Yeah. What, the gumball and this combined? Yeah, it's nice that it all lined up.
16:30Cal:You want to get in your own bed for a little bit. For real. Yeah, the jet lag has been frying me as well. I don't know about you guys. Yeah, we were a little bit cut to it when we got here. I don't know what this is.
16:38Chip:I'm going to tell you what this is. Can we each get to open it? Or do I wait? No, on this, right? So this is what we're doing with every guest, but because it's the first step, me and Chip have to do it as well. on this you write down who you think is going to win the world cup and then at the end we see if anybody got it right what what prize do i win for getting it right liam we didn't think this far did we because what do you think is a suitable prize for 10 000 no okay it's side man style it can't yes yeah if we do it simon style a million quid mate you'll never fucking see it you know what a dinner on you boys all right you know what we'll take the winner out for a dinner i get to hang out with you guys more all right i don't mind that i don't mind that at all that's
17:15Cal:That's a good prize.
17:16Chip:These guys would never buy me dinner. No, we chip with it. I will.
17:19Cal:First of all, absolutely fucking would.
17:22Chip:Absolutely fucking would me. Don't you dare. Me, I'll get you, me.
17:25Cal:I can't believe you said that.
17:27Chip:I'm actually fucking well upset. I don't think we're not saying - Keep it secret. Don't tell anyone. All right, okay.
17:31Cal:What am I - I've got this. That's all right. I've not got a pen or anything. Okay, well, here you go. You can do it after me. I'll put it back in my envelope.
17:38Chip:Pass me your pen, Vic.
17:40Cal:What am I doing?
17:42Chip:Writing. And who you think is going to win the world cup? Oh, okay. Yo, stop looking. Peaking. All right. Sign sealed, delivered. Thanks for the dinner, boys. I'm going to enjoy it. Can we go somewhere really nice? I don't know how funny it would be, actually, Vic, if you end up getting this right. Oh, bro, sealing it. Sealed, signed, delivered. I'm sealing it, because I don't want to be tampering with my...
18:09Cal:I always thought licking amelette's weird.
18:11Chip:Yeah, I don't know who decided that was the way.
18:13Cal:Yeah, that used to be such a habit of mine.
18:16Chip:What, just for fun? Oh, give the lad some envelopes, cheer him up.
18:22Cal:Come on, everyone used to do that as a kid. Huh? What, just lick envelopes? Yeah, like when your mum was like doing Christmas casting, let me lick them, lick them clothes, let me lick them clothes. I can't say I did. What? You don't celebrate Christmas though, so you don't get it? Vic, come on, bro. You literally. Vic, come on, bro.
18:39Chip:Your household literally doesn't celebrate Christmas.
18:41Cal:Yes, first of all, they do. It's a mixture. Of what? It's half Muslim, half Christian.
18:48Chip:So we celebrate half of Christmas. So what, just the morning? So you lick half the...
18:52Cal:Oh, I'm getting both. I'm pulling up on Eid and Christmas. You know, my shit's there. But you only lick half the envelopes because you only sell half. No, I was looking the full thing, bro. It's very sensitive. Twice a year, you get to lick all the envelopes. Yeah, all of them, by the way. 100%. And when she was like, I'm cutting down this year on who we're sending them out to. I'd be like, fuck!
19:09Chip:I was tweaking it as well. you know you could just buy if you really want to lick not when he was a kid couldn't justify
19:16Cal:yeah the wealth wasn't there when I was a kid so I couldn't really go out and buy my own envelopes to lick tough life man tough life I bet you guys get it
19:24Chip:yes alright anyways while you were licking envelopes our boy Vic was meeting King Charles bro oh shit that's my bro as well did you have any secret rules or anything did they tell you how to greet him no no one really told me anything which caught me a bit off guard so did you like dab him up did you fist bump him like what i tried to do a sharp handshake you know yeah and i i the only thing i was told not by anyone official but i was with uh lucien laviscount the guy from emily in paris yeah he was also there with me he was presenting a different award met for the first time he was cool and he basically the only thing he said is he said make sure that you wait for him to shake your hand right so you don't go for it you let him oh i guess it's an initiative if you go for that kind of disagree with that i think yeah i'm sure he wouldn't have minded maybe that's like an course he won't mind but yeah it was it came up pretty fast no one told me it was going to happen i went to present an award for king's trust on their 50th anniversary for people who've been uplifting the community and then just as i was sat down waiting to go and give my award one of the guys from the event just comes and says okay would you like to go and meet the king and uh queen yeah the king and queen and i was like oh uh yeah sure just they kept it cash so i went up and there was the queue of about 10 people some of the award winners some of the hosts and they just stuck me right at the front of the queue that instagram pic went hard yeah um and then i was just like we waited for about 10 minutes and i was like is this actually happening like or proper awkward chat in the line because we all just stood in the line as well for like 10 minutes right so everyone's just looking at each other like what yeah because we need to be ready because he's a busy man obviously and as he came out of their royal box at the royal albert hall he was greeting all the people there had like a whole media team following him think like these are like the royal paps you know like you think the goat throughout history these guys have been covering everything the royal family does i'm there and he comes along and in my head i was just like in my head i'm like all right this is easy shake the hand girl so lovely to meet you then he'll carry on down the line because there's a couple people on there but he yeah i shake his hand and he just goes so what have you been up to lately and yeah just damn it's the guy from harry potter was it he's very he's p12 yeah so what did you say you'd be like i'll be dj mad shit bro come to my giga marquee i'll swear i'll sit at the table i should have i should have said that it's i've been charity match little bottle on me um yeah so Yeah, I bet you'd get an extra bottle if fucking King Charles was rocking out, wouldn't he?
22:05I reckon back in his day, he used to go mad.
22:07Cal:You reckon he was a session? Yeah. When they're young, they have to, right? I don't know, I guess. I reckon maybe. Anyway, I kept it casual. I tried to summarize what we do in about 20 seconds. Then I realized I was yapping, so I just kind of stopped talking. And then he seemed like he was engaging. and he was like, oh, so I suspect you called time out of your schedule for this. And I think that was like saying a nice thing. Like, oh, it sounds like you're doing some cool stuff. Like, thanks for coming down. And I just said, no, no, I made it a priority. Thank you. And then he carried on and that was it.
22:45That was the interaction. Good response.
22:48Chip:Smoothed it. Smoothed it. That is good. Can't say I would've been the same. Is that like a top five? I'm trying to think if I met King Charles, like, is that a top five life moment? I'm not sure. I don't put it there. It's very cool And it's like a nice thing To have happened And to be kind of Acknowledged by Not top five We got We've been doing stuff You've been doing cool shit Yeah We got charity match Up in there Shows and festivals Up in there Fellas Depends how much
23:14Cal:You rate them fellas What?
23:17Chip:Like the Monarchy Monarchy Yeah Yeah I'm not gonna lie Like Queen Lizzy I think that might Squeak into your top five Like she was one of the Baddest to ever exist Baddest of them all Yeah she was sick She was She was I think Charles has got, unfortunately, he's just come in a bit late to the game. Yeah. And it feels like, bro, you really got to like work your way up and earn that. Exactly.
23:39Cal:Like a new transfer.
23:41Chip:Yeah.
23:41Cal:I hear that. But he's just still in his first couple of seasons breaking in.
23:45Chip:Yeah. But you know, my review is where I will sound. Yeah. And that's,
23:49Cal:that's good. That's what I'd be worried. I'd say something like that as well. I'd be like, Oh, you know what? You're actually. My intrusive thoughts were like to ask like some, like off the cuff question just to see what happens. You're breaking down a bit. I can't even think what it would have been but I was just thinking like I could use this opportunity to get a clip. Get a clip. Clip farming the king is insane by the way. I just said to myself I cannot clip farm the king. I think the main thing you got asked is like fuck bro you know anything about aliens or what? I don't think he's tapped in on that.
24:19Cal:Because I think that's what I'd be asking. That would be a good one because it'd be fun. I agree. I don't think he would know.
24:24Chip:No. Do you think aliens exist King Charles?
24:27Cal:He probably thinks they exist, but he probably don't know if they do. He doesn't know him personally. I don't know.
24:32Chip:Maybe he is. Maybe royal family's dialed in.
24:34Cal:I feel like, nah, they wouldn't know. They wouldn't know. From my experience, anyway.
24:41Chip:Yeah. All right, top five. Okay, okay. Let's say, okay, King Charles is obviously up there in terms of people you would want to handshake. Oh, okay. So just give me who is a bigger person to handshake. All you get is the same interaction that Vicks had who is who's ahead of King We do a shared like top five because I don't have mine because I got one already I got one off share the bat
25:04Cal:Verstappen 100 % I'm shaking his hand and I'm like What in that sort of interaction? That's a shit one Also I think Verstappen will be sound as fuck we'll have a little G &T No this is what I'm saying you only get you only get the handshake and the sentence Ah yeah I saw Verstappen I don't mind that at all I'm in with that I respect what he does What's your sentence to him? He was a greatest driver nothing bro I would just like fucking keep. Yeah, keep doing what you're doing. Keep sliding bro. Sliding. Keep smashing it on the sim. Keep up my side. Keep up my side.
25:32Chip:All right, who else is in there? We got Max Verstappen. Honestly, in that vein, Lewis Hamilton as well. Oh boys, what are we doing? F1 lineup, this is ridiculous. But honestly, like, think it's a pinnacle sport. It's a sport that I follow. I don't follow any other sports.
25:44Cal:I'll fuck with it, I'll fuck with it.
25:45Chip:Right, we'll put Lionel Messi in there as well.
25:47Cal:I'll fuck with it, I'll fuck with it.
25:49Chip:Morgan Freeman, jump in.
25:50Cal:Oh, don't hate it, don't hate it.
25:52Chip:David Attenborough. Don't hate it. That's gotta be a big one. David Atman.
25:55Cal:Tell you what, I'd actually, I'd actually love to shake Timothee Chalamet's hand. The guy's been cooking up too much of a storm. Like he's in too much good shit. Oh, I've got one. I've got one for you. Chris Martin. Coldplay. You're on your ones, bro. You know what, bro? That's fine. I'm happy to be here. That's your top five.
26:10Chip:I'm happy to be here. We know, we know usually,
26:13Cal:we know we're on podcasts usually early, but you carry on this way. I can't believe this. Chris, don't understand. You indeed want.
26:18Chip:I can't believe this. and Chris Martin is a legend, but I just know he'd be wearing another goofy t-shirt when I'm in.
26:25Cal:Let me throw a controversial one out there.
26:26Chip:Tie-dye t-shirt.
26:28Cal:Is it dead or alive? Because I'm going to throw a controversial one out there. Don't... Well, you were thinking I was going to talk about the big G-E.
26:36Chip:Who are you saying? I wasn't going to talk about him.
26:39Cal:I'm thinking Michael Jackson.
26:42Chip:Don't mind it. Don't mind it.
26:44Cal:The greatest musician of all time, or the biggest of all time? Kind of as like a big one? Glove off as well How about that Shit twin Glove off I thought you were talking about Martial there bro Nah nah Like he goes to take Goes to give you a handshake He takes his glove off Without respect for you How about that That's gotta be up there Surely
27:02Chip:That would be the biggest Glove off
27:05Cal:MJ shake And then he goes Hee hee And he drops a little Spin on you as well Moonwalks Moonwalks away
27:13Chip:Yeah
27:14Cal:Starts doing a lean on you And you're like Fucking hell Martial Chill out
27:18Chip:Don't chill out. It's just Chip Oland.
27:21Cal:Fucking hell, mate. It's just me. You don't need to be doing all this. I'm actually... What did I say? Born too late to shake Michael Jackson's hand? Mate, mate, I'm just one of the people, bro. Don't treat me like this. You're the hopeful one with Michael Jackson. Okay, okay. Next one. I'm going to throw another name into the mixer. Hear me out on this. Jordan McCann.
27:43Chip:Wait, the podcast guy?
27:45Cal:Call from a Bible.
27:47Chip:Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
27:48Cal:favorite quote from the Bible? What is it? Something about a dog?
27:53Chip:You've lost me. It's such a good bit.
27:55Cal:Please, Lee, can you just get it up for me? We'll come back to it because it's brilliant. Who else have you got?
28:01Chip:One last person that cannot be an F1 driver, Vic. Who are you putting in?
28:06Cal:Jordan McCann. No, you can't pull it up because there's no volume. Jordan McCann Bible clip. Just look for it and find a quote for me.
28:12Chip:Who else have you got? Last person to enter
28:14Cal:your top five.
28:15Chip:Tough, man. I'm going with...
28:21Cal:Go on, Vic. Go on, lad. Go on, lad. Super difficult.
28:26Chip:Trying to think. I thought you were going to say Superman. Superman.
28:30Cal:When you said Superman, I was like, what? Fuck it, Superman. All right. Let's think. What about an actor? Maybe an actor at all? Any big actors? I don't really watch films. Okay, well, then you fucking. Yeah, that's kind of different. No, it's tough for me because what do I like? I like video games. Avicii. Yeah. Big. That's big.
28:47Chip:That would have been mega. That's big. Who would you say is like your DJ? Oh, I can't. I couldn't possibly pick one, but yeah, that's a good one because then if that brings him back as well, W for everyone involved. W for the whole scene. Tell you what,
29:00Cal:could you do your top three at least? I don't really. I know your friends are a lot of them, but could you do a top three from where you were? Before you were a DJ, who were your top three? Okay, before I was a DJ, Tiesta. Yeah. Yeah, hear it. Oh, it's so hard because I... because you fought with them all now. Yeah, that's it. There's so many. They're going to be watching this clip like, fuck you, Vic. Zed, like we're going way back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tiesto, Zed. Like I started watching these guys. Like this is, Martin Garrix was like 16 at the time. I started going to EDM festival so he hadn't even appeared on the map.
29:33So wasn't that when he dropped Animals or whatever?
29:35Chip:Yeah, yeah. He was 16 or something when he dropped that shit. So I think if we're going, this is, I'm doing this, imagine like 10 years ago. I've gone to Miami Ultra 2015. Who would I want to see? Go DJs would be, yeah. Atiesto Zed and I'm going to go with Don Diablo. Oh, yeah. That's a sick line. And now I've kind of got to meet all those guys. Have you met all of them? Yeah, yeah. All legends. That's sick. Mate, unreal. Did we find the Jordan McCann quote? Here we go. This is the guy chips on.
30:06Cal:Oh, I'm fake. Sorry, I just need to show you this, mate. It's really good. Pest spot, mate. There's nothing you can ask me about the Bible now and I can tell you and that's not showing off. I genuinely like you to do that anything anything you could think of what's the best verse on it that stands out to you the best verse is if you stop at every dog that barks you'll never reach your destination that's my favourite verse because it's basically about you don't stop at every dog that barks because you'll never reach your destination
30:34Chip:bro this guy's the best I can see why you like that guy yeah so getting a handshake off him would actually be pretty I can see why he inspires you, Chip.
30:45Cal:That is... No, because he's right, because you do stop at every dog that bark.
30:48Chip:He's got... The point he's made is valid. You'll never reach your destination, so stop stopping at dogs that bark. But I just wonder, is that actually in the Bible? I'm not sure.
30:59Cal:Well, look, it's all hearsay, subjective. Yeah, maybe he interpreted a verse in that way. He might have read it in one way, and then you read it a different way.
31:09Chip:He's got the Alibaba Bible, bro. Exactly. That's true actually. Yeah, maybe you paid half price and they were writing whatever in there.
31:16Cal:Yeah, literally. That's probably the one Chips read. Fuck. Chips read's a fuck level. First of all, you're assuming I can read.
31:25Chip:Let's blind rank World Cup experiences. Have you got five for me, Lee? I'll just do this. It's going to be awkward for me. No, because...
31:33Cal:No, I'm with you.
31:34Chip:No, no, no, no, no. CG just wouldn't be this one by yourself. No, no, no, no, no. Because we want you to add your input regardless. Okay. I'm not sure I'm going to know any of these. I don't know if I know any of them. The first one's beer garden. Yeah. So it's like where you would want to watch the game. I understand. I thought it was moments. No, no, no. Okay. So it's where you want beer garden.
31:53Cal:I'm going to be honest. That for me, if it's not at the game, a fucking beer garden. Second best, maybe. Number two. I think that's number two. Number two. You would watch it in a beer garden. Exactly. A hundred percent. I might prefer to watch it in a beer garden than a stadium. There are times where beer garden is better. Yeah, you're right. Yeah. but I think it would be disrespectful not to put stadium number one we don't I mean let's hope let's put beer garden two because beer garden is very strong best spot though in the sun as well fucking hell mosh
32:19Chip:at work slash in the office I'm gonna go with four do you wanna know what it's good because what could be worse though I guess
32:29Cal:what could be worse watching at home with a missus and the dog
32:32Chip:yeah
32:34Cal:that would be bad for a world cup game I love my dog and I love my missus but you need an atmosphere for a football game I think and if somebody's not into it and the dog's fucking chewing your ear off like fucking Al Mosh you've had you've had to fuck off you just had duck duck chicken or whatever it is duck duck chicken butter nut box yeah you know about those ones and now you're chewing on that fucking half dead pig that you've shagged and eaten for six months like please give it a rest Alfonso still at it you know what I mean
33:03Chip:that guy is a demon
33:05Cal:that's what I mean mate give it a rest Panama versus Egypt Chips is on his fucking big stomach. My favorite thing was when I went around Chips for dinner and Alfonso's giving it large at me. When I've been there for an hour with chill, I've got up to go to the bathroom and he's come at me, started yapping at me. He's nibbled you. Bit my ankle. Yeah. And then Chips said, pick him up. I've just picked him up. What, air jail? Yeah, but then he just chilled right out. Yeah. He is kind of racist. He is so, like, obviously. I didn't instill the sentiment, by the way. Obviously, I've tried.
33:35Chip:I'm not going to lie. I would have thought that Vic and you would have been probably quite sweet.
33:39Cal:I tried to teach him my ways and he's looked at me and gone, you've just about made it. Does he have a little chart that he holds up? Then he's looked at Vic and gone, no, you are about 5 % too dark for me, pal. I'm just gonna stick it in. Oh man. Ankle's gone. I was trying to explain. I'm like, no, no, I get it. But he's out. But the thing is, I wanted him to stand on business. If he's trying to stand on business, don't like, I picked you up. Keep going. He did just shut the fuck up once. He just stopped and he was just like, full relaxed. He's like, all right, this is fine. like if you just tried to eat my feet some respect thing innit so he's probably scared of you and then when you pitch I've already been you know what this guy's actually that guy this guy's him then he's like no and he's like fucking all your tunes are alright you know
34:18Chip:alright so we'll put the office one in four sure so we've got two in four this could be bad though we could put something we could fuck this hungover on the sofa nah that's gonna be five oh that is worse you're right that's not yeah cause that doesn't imply anyone else is there that might be the saddest
34:33Cal:struggling to even take in the ball at that moment then you've got some commentators on the fucking wind up as well
34:38Chip:if you've got the American ones on as well you're done you might as well just go throw up especially you
34:42Cal:oh mate you're watching it on Peacock fuck
34:45Chip:yeah okay we'll put that in five
34:46Cal:yeah there's no debate that's gotta be bad good save guys yeah I can tell you've done this before I think we've done a good job here yeah stadium number one yeah yeah that's it we imagine we could have just added a foot so it's three left I reckon they've done it in by the way they've put something horrendous here right wait for it on holiday oh yeah we've actually yeah we've actually tried correctly don't mind that maybe holiday would be second maybe holiday has a place now you know what i still think i still think beer garden in the uk with the boys prime beer garden good weather yeah you have to consider that could have happened and if that has happened it's number two yeah there's still a place for prime beer garden to be first for me because there have been times where you'll have the right because you know it's easy to get a drink yeah you're just with everyone you love and i do agree but then also So you could have like where everyone said, let's go beer garden.
35:34And then it like gets windy or starts raining.
35:37Cal:Anything outside of a knockout game, beer garden wins for me no matter what. Yeah. What if it's cold though and rainy? Like just the weather changes. We have to assume that it's sunny. World Cup's always in the summer. So unless... Like that means anything in England. That's true. That is fucking true. Oh yeah. But we've done well. Boys, I'm going to be honest. I think this has been our best blind ranking ever. I'm proud of us. We've actually smoked it. Yeah. So what was it? Number one stadium, I'm number two Bay Gardner number three Holiday number four Office number five
36:05Chip:hungover on the couch yeah I love that I think we smoked it we've absolutely smashed that yeah he was open to
36:13Cal:have us on strings and he's been done in absolutely so
36:17Chip:you're spending you leave here tomorrow fly down and then you're just going home from there or are you coming back to New York no no home just going home must go home damn go see Ralph big Ralph yeah I don't like this time zone man you don't like this time zone Going back, it's just... Because I'm an evening person. I'm a nighttime kind of guy. How were you finding that? The first few days were rough, dark, dark days. But just even in general, because all these shows are late at night, do you not just find that you're sleeping pattern and there's no routine, it's just horror? Why do you think I'm wearing sunglasses every DJ set?
36:51Chip:Sometimes I'll be like... Sat in the green room, just fighting for my life. Really, yeah. it happens though because if you like with sidemen and stuff in my home life i want to be waking up in the mornings it used to be fine when we would wake up in the afternoon but i did i had a like a epiphany you know i was like i just gotta live during the day yeah this insane idea right that you're never gonna guess what but i think i need to be awake during the day yeah so that is the unfortunate flip side is like it can be tough sometimes you have to kind of get in the head space once you're out and doing it it's fine you like lift up to it but yeah like sometimes that time before the show if you're not doing something like we're gonna go out for you know chill bar whatever if you keep going you're fine but if you just sat in your room you're like oh yeah i've done it before i've taken a nap from like 10 p.m until like 2 a.m and i'm woken up to go to the club and I feel like I've been flashbang, man.
37:51I'm just like... You doing any UK festivals? Yeah, we got Creamfields. Oh, sick. Which is going to be very cool.
37:59Chip:Mate, I reckon that'll be your... After that, you'll say that'll be your best ever show. I don't know. What's been your best? Monterey. Really? Literally that next couple? And I don't think anything will top that for maybe a year or two. Genuinely. I think... Bro, I think Creamfields will slap.
38:15Cal:I don't think any UK thing will ever beat America for you. um rust me cream fields as a spot also just to preface i am doing the silent disco which is fun and it's gonna be cool hearing like everyone sing everything but it's also like still gonna be 15 ,000 people but it's gonna be a totally different vibe different vibe i think it'll be like fun and wholesome and cool but i'm telling you this crowd i saw in mexico i have not seen that tomorrowland a bigger like more energetic crowd than tomorrowland edc vegas miami ultra edc orlando you name it genuinely peak crowd i'm gonna post this set to my youtube hopefully when i get all the footage and like nothing i've ever experienced so cream fields will be good cool gonna have some fun with it um i'm like second from closing on the first day as well so i don't clash with anyone
39:05Chip:yeah that must be such a ball like when you get booked for something and then you see that you're like you're going head to head with some titan and you're like oh so when we were at tomorrowland last year i was clashing with james hype swedish house mafia anima and john summit all at the same time i'm surprised anyone showed up like roasted like i did all the fucking crowd come on one bus i'm like i wouldn't come and watch me over those guys i was pissed off i could hear swedish house mafia on the main stage and i'm like finish my set i'm like guys leave yeah go we gotta go see the swedes have you are you doing tomorrow land again this year yes i am on the sunday you got a better slot there yeah it's a bigger one it's outside it's on one of those little sticking up pieces of land it's one of the pavilion looking things i think it's gonna yeah it's a better time as well it's a bit earlier weekend two sunday so people don't get booked for both weekends the the big dogs i'm working my way up yeah yeah okay i didn't know i would have just assumed if they book you just easier to be like yeah you're just they have so many people that want to play that they get more diversity and they only book people two weekends if they're like the demand for this person is so crazy yeah you know in time we'll we'll work towards it so um so i've got yeah tomorrowland i've got creamfields the big one co-headline british grand prix on the sunday what yeah on that 45 000 person festival stage so that's gonna be what's the vibes yeah on the sunday so if you're there come through after the race huh the fourth of fourth of july maybe something like that we're still here isn't it yeah oh man that's unreal that's gonna be i feel like i can bring a really good vibe to that one as well like
40:46Cal:after the race kind of party vibe well man that would be that's gonna be a good one but i will tell you also just getting hit with these like big shows now I've been scrambling to try and get stuff that actually looks professional like I'm in with like what do you mean? like graphic teams like visual teams like tour manager like media team everything
41:08Chip:does it cost a lot of money I mean like the graphics and stuff for the stage and stuff yeah you on a big like to get all these big shows done I'll like lose money but it's fine really? because I want it to look good it's an investment that's it
41:21Cal:I'm investing in having this stuff people are going to come and watch and be like fucking hell the show was like high production and went to Mason. The set was great. You want people to take you seriously in this space. You kind of got to do that. Exactly. And you've got to do some money.
41:32Chip:I'm going to mispronounce his last name here, but Eric Pritz. Pritz. Pritz. Bro, so when we went to Tomorrowland, we saw his set. And what did he say? It was called Hollow. Hollow, yeah. Mate, the production there. Like, people, obviously, he's got bangers for days, right? But I was there to watch the set. And I think if you can get people to do that,
41:54Cal:was it that good shit comes out of the screen
41:58Chip:oh it was just crazy super immersive huge screens like the hand comes out of the screen you would have seen videos of it
42:06Cal:maybe yeah
42:08Chip:and it was yeah and I feel like if you can get that element to it as well it doesn't have to be that but my point is more around just the production of it obviously the music does so much work that would be a game changer
42:20Cal:you ever press the button for the pyro
42:23Chip:nah bro
42:23Cal:where was it? India.
42:25Chip:The CO2. We had you and David Mocker.
42:28Cal:It was for you, right? Vic gave me the button. The detonator. Yeah, it's fucking sick as well. Someone play the clip. And he was like, make sure you time it right. Make sure you time it right. It is. It's a stinker if you do it on the fake drop. That would have been so good. But I did get it right and I'm sat there like, honestly, like kind of the vibe of the crowd kind of depends on this a little bit. You don't want the power or whatever. There's steam going off at the wrong time. And I'm like, don't get this wrong and there's about five people watching you and everyone's counting you and they're like wait wait wait go people actually counted you in so people yeah I was with David okay yeah remember David yeah so it was me and him and we both taking turns
43:05Chip:is that the German fella he's Norwegian he's Norwegian oh Norwegian okay yeah oh sorry
43:11Cal:so we were taking turns we were fighting over like please it's my time you guys smashed it it was on point that was sick where was that again that was in Pune yes four hours outside of Mumbai yes
43:22Chip:if you were to say so you have pyro you've got like the CO2 what else do you have and then give me the best one confetti that's a big one I've only ever had that like once or twice never had fireworks that's the goal you can add on yourself
43:44Cal:or is it up to the if you get to a big enough show say do you want to pay this amount to add it on no one's ever offered me fireworks I've had to buy my own CO2 a lot of times. Really? Especially when I'm a support. They're like, you're a support. You get nothing unless you pay for it yourself. So I'm like not getting paid for the show and then I turn up and have to pay for my own CO2.
44:02Chip:How much would that cost? It can be like one, two K for like a couple CO2 bursts in a show. Fucking hell.
44:08Cal:Damn, also I was really just burning money on that shit. One grand, two grand. Those ones were complimentary. Had to fight for them though. As they should, man. That was the homeland. Yeah, yeah. for my people. For my brothers. My brothers rolling hard in the crowd. You and these guys filmed some funny stuff in the crowd that couldn't make YouTube. Really? Well we went in, we took Vits camera into the crowd and just me and David just like on a tube man just went and everyone was getting fucked up. What India would get? Apparently it's a thing. Honestly, I can't even describe, genuinely shocked me a little bit.
44:43Cal:They were so ready to watch Rick and Alan. It was mental. Like it genuinely surprised me. The crowd was buzzing. It was a good vibe. We were just getting in there and everyone's getting popped up saying some weird shit to the camera and we're just like, this can't go in. Yeah, yeah. Bro. It was good though.
44:58Chip:That was one of the better trips I've had.
45:00Cal:That was an amazing time. That was a movie, the India trip, yeah. It was very good. And one of the shows got cancelled, didn't it? It was Hyperbad. Yeah, it did. That often does happen. Hyperbad? Hydrabad. Hydra. Hydrabad. Yeah. Hyperbad or Hyderbad? Hyperbad.
45:15Chip:I'm Hyperbad. Now let's hear Hyperbad. That's how I pronounced them wrong.
45:19Cal:Nah, that one got cancelled, what was it cancelled for again to do with government and permits it happens quite a lot i was supposed to play a festival in uh riyadh not too long ago after the formula e thing we did and the first day of the festival they just didn't open the gates and they said it's cancelled then they like loads of people had turned up the next day they cancelled that day and i was playing the next weekend and then i found out a few days before the whole show was cancelled so i just didn't go i just changed my flight to fly home but this stuff happens
45:48Chip:um it must be so annoying though do you still get paid though if you get to do it yeah so we most of us take payment up front because if something like that happens and we've already
45:56Cal:traveled there we've lost the time calendars and everything but yeah this lineup was insane they had alan walker martin garricks all that like you name it every jesus big dj um like alesso they must have lost a fortune definitely um and i was excited to play i was actually the stage slot two before Martin Garrix as well.
46:16Chip:Would you ever put on your own festival? People have been saying that to me this week. They've said, look, if you don't like the venues in London, why not throw on your own event in one of the parks? I'll hit up my boy Afrojack, I'll hit up Alan Walker, Steve Aoki. You've got the plugs to be able to get the beat. And they would never come and play a show in the UK because it doesn't make sense for them. But if I asked them as a favour... mate that would be really insane i should probably look at it for like next summer
46:46Cal:little you probably need to start looking soon something worth giving a shot see how it goes
46:50Chip:yeah you're right that'd be sick more work oh yeah yeah just what you need but now you gotta get somebody and they're amazing yeah think about that lineup in london like you can't see these guys play in london because it's not commercially commercially viable for them why is that i think The music in the UK is so sub-niched. It's like commercial music, as it were, I feel like just doesn't do well because the scene is pushed so much towards, you've got your drum and bass, you've got your tech house, you've got your hard house. You don't really have like a commercial EDM. I think the only person doing it really is Calvin Harris.
47:28Who else is doing it big? And he doesn't play shows in the UK as well. And he's the biggest.
47:32Chip:You need to drop him a nice little DM like, bro, I'm doing this. I'm doing my festival. Do you want to slink? Any chance you pull up. He's like, yeah, my goal rate's like a million quid a show. I'll take a loan, bro. I'm on the phone to the bank. Hey, guys, pass me a meal. I promise I'll pay you back. It's going to be sick. You can come. You're fine. You can come. I'll get you backstage. Yeah. I've got the DJ table waiting for you guys. My mate Chip's on it. You'll have a grand time. The DJ table's a little fold-out. Plastic fold-out table. Chip will be the promoter. No, it'll be on the CO2.
48:04Cal:Oh, fuck. Guy on the bottom.
48:06Chip:yeah and then that way you can finally get the fireworks as well because your whole thing so you're there like i'm getting fireworks that's what a lot of the big dogs are doing now is they do their own shows and festival yeah why not i got two ants i can do fucking co2 and fireworks
48:19Cal:all right man all right don't fucking worry about it i gotta handle vic anyway can do your thing welcome anyway sweet welcome class it's warmer here than it was in mexico city yeah what's going on because it's like concrete jungle it's fucking keeps heating it so is mexico city and it was like a nice breeze and chill you've been to new york much a handful of times do you like it it's cool to stop by yeah i don't think i'd want to hang around too long but i enjoy the culture you don't want to do six weeks with the boys all right sorry yeah we got a spare room well dan doesn't mind sharing you'll be all right oh there we go we got time okay maybe i'll take It's my favorite city in the world.
49:05Chip:Besides London or ahead of London?
49:06Cal:Ahead of London. I don't know. For me, I used to love watching the movies that were all set in New York as a kid. And when I first came here, I was like, fuck, this is like the first place I've been to that's lived up to how it was on the movie screens.
49:20Chip:And I came at Christmas and it snowed
49:22Cal:and I was like, fuck, this is mental. It is magic. And the people are really nice here, I think. I think there's an infectious energy about the American spirit, the way they talk like there was this guy on the side of the road like doing an ab roller getting really annoyed at him because he paid for it and he thought it was electric and it wasn't and but
49:42Chip:he's doing the ab rolling like on the pavement and where they're like at first i thought he was homeless but then i saw that he actually had like some shopping bags with him he had bought this and tried it on the side why would you have an electric ab roller like he just was kicking and then he's talking what do you go you know what i gotta make some stupid shit like this and get
50:01Cal:rich and he's but he's talking to us at the same time and we're just waiting for the little the
50:05Chip:white man to tell us we can cross yeah and we're like uh but stuff like that to me is like i love
50:11Cal:it here they'll speak to you they're very much yeah on board with having a conversation with a random person whereas in london as much you do not speak to a stranger it's very smile very standoffish everyone's a little bit can be miserable yeah trying to get to work trying to get this shit done it's a very english it does always catch which is nice sometimes but I do like coming over and everyone's everyone's an extrovert
50:31Chip:yeah yeah which is almost everyone yeah yeah there's no introverts in New York
50:35Cal:I kind of like that I think it also makes it easier would you say you're extroverted chip is that why no I don't know you know I would say that you are you can catch you in periods where I'll be like don't fucking talk to me but I've never experienced that ever yeah because that's you and I'll always make time for you but it's with random people I'll be like it can be like I don't want to
50:55Chip:it i'm excited to see what your energy is like in like week three do you reckon your battery will just be fair that's the thing i feel like it's got a pair of tacks i've been here a week and i found myself at the gumball closing party last night uh no night before last i went and sat in the corner and in the quiet put my earplugs in a little doom scroll no just overstimulated yeah which is rare for me because i'm usually it was just a week of just i also did the rally effectively on my own none of my boys were feeling the on the run in mexico they didn't want to you know hit the speeds in a car with police lights on him you know yeah that's valid um but yeah i was rolling rolling solo so i met a lot of nice people made a lot of new friends but it is hard it's hard what sort of people do you meet on them like so many interesting have you ever met somebody and then linked up with them post gumball lots of people actually especially now i've done i'm on my third one now so after my last one the second one i've met people and you meet people all over the world people in like canada the middle east australia like when i was in australia some of the people i met on gumball came to my shows when i toured there and it's a cool and i think basically i'm sure you guys have done gumball everyone at gumball is kind of in the top of their field because it's you know it's a commitment to do and it's expensive to do yeah so you meet really interesting people and you learn so yeah people from different all different spaces that's
52:12Cal:sick mate we need to need to get back on it next year we say this every year but you do want to
52:19Chip:know what is actually been our bad like twice so max we've had him on the podcast actually he was a really good guest like so many amazing stories if you get your car then we could take our cars yeah but the problem is is that every single time because it's like this time of year again we wouldn't have been able to do it this year because we were coming to do here no i know but every year something just lock it in early they've already announced the dates for next year so maybe Whack it in your calendar. Just lock in. I'm trying to get a whole squad.
52:49Cal:Fellas Gumball will go off. You'll have your new car. We can go.
52:54Chip:Yeah, I'm down. Did they say where it's going to be yet? Yes, it's going to be... It's going to be... Actually, I'm not sure if it's announced yet. Okay, fine. I don't know. Yeah, I'll tell you afterwards. But next one is going to be crazy. It's going to be, I think, one of the best ones. Maybe the best of the four that I've done. and hopefully I'm going to roll with Aphrodite, Alan Walker so we'll be maybe playing shows and the fellas obviously you guys get your own cars obviously but I'm saying like in a car or they might even get their own cars have a whole squad
53:23Cal:you can sit in the small back of mine mate
53:24Chip:yeah you tiny little
53:26Cal:made for dogs and babies and Sabina and Sabina she sits passenger she's a passenger princess mate yeah do you have a car? unless you're there you got the Aston Martin
53:37Chip:you sell it long gone what do you have? Tesla Tesla Was the Tesla the one that had
53:42Cal:Do you remember when I don't know if it Was it a smash window or a key? Yeah that was my old Tesla Yeah I just parked it In Whitechapel In a car park Window smashed in Whitechapel don't it They didn't even take Anything out of the car They just smashed in the window You know what I love that Nah Cause why the fuck not
53:58Chip:Like yeah Fuck it bro I'm gonna just smash this shit Like I'm not actually Gonna take it But just to let you know Let's not promote that I'm hating on your shit
54:05Cal:Cause what Buddy's doing well for himself So he gets his car's window smashed
54:09Chip:Game's a game bro
54:10Cal:crabs in a bucket mentality mate
54:13Chip:it's respect yeah
54:15Cal:I don't know what it was
54:16Chip:but I think they just smashed it in for no reason are you into cars like that or not really? I'm becoming into cars as a result of doing Gumball you see that stuff well what would you get? do you see one that you like what about the Bentley? is that a good car? I was looking at that one yeah it was a solid car it was comfy big strong windscreen saved a life yeah true actually so you know we said if that had been like a lightweight car it could be Kurt there's no way there's no way anyone surviving if that was like a supercar that hit that windscreen it's like freak accident what um what car would you get for life or for gumball or if i could have any car oh if you could have any car bro you know what the the car we drove on gumball last year the brabus j100 super black what's that it's like the brabus modified g-wagon but it's got insane power.
55:09Chip:Bro, if I saw you driving that, I'd go. You're a grown man.
55:14Cal:They're so difficult. They're like driving boats. No, but this is why I'm making the point is, yeah, usually they're top heavy and people have rolled them. I don't know what they did to the car. They changed all the suspension, all the weight and everything and it stuck to the road. We were pushing, I'm not going to say what, but serious
55:32Chip:speed. And I was expecting the wind to like be wobbling the car and it just stuck to the road. So that's why I would say I wouldn't usually get a G-Wagon because they are a bit... How much does a Brabus one cost? 600 grand. So they've done a lot to it. 600 grand? Yeah. Oh my God. Constantine, if you're watching.
55:52Cal:It was nice inside. Wait, what?
55:54Chip:Is that the owner of Brabus? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yo, Constantine, we've fought with that. I love one. We've won the G900. G800. G800. I love that car.
56:03Cal:I love that car. I drove it nearly rode it off in the first five minutes true yeah so you know it was nice though it was beautiful I forgot sorry I forgot you'd driven it there were a lot of people on Gumball it was a lot better than the G-Wagon we had
56:16Chip:oh mate because we did Gumball in a G-Wagon
56:18Cal:like considerably better stock is yeah would be I just don't like G-Wagons in general for me just not like even with the Brabus more of a
56:29Chip:911 Turbo S
56:31Cal:yeah but I'm like yeah I'm saying
56:33Chip:this is just A practical car That's cool Ralph sits in the back Take the family Yeah, exactly Ralph needs a palace In the back, man Yeah Bro's massive Bro's well But it's like
56:44Cal:G-Wagon and Eurus They are They Regular traffic They're not regular They're footballer cars Yeah So I I shouldn't be put off By that Because They know what they're doing Do they?
56:57Chip:Because I think
56:57Cal:They just buy What everyone else buys And that's why Everyone's got Eurus And this kind of crap
57:01Chip:No, wait Eurus is a sick No, no, no I'm not big into them. I don't think they're worth the money. They're really expensive.
57:09Cal:There's about a hundred different cars at the same price bracket that you would rather have. But everyone despises that because it's got a little bit of space and it's a footballer car. And everyone in the UK recognizes it. And it's a good show off car. Would you really want that?
57:22Chip:All right, bro.
57:22Cal:Would you, if you had that? Well, what's your answer?
57:25Chip:My answer? Yeah. Any car right now, I want to get. Just like as a practical, like car. Oh, as a practical one? That's what I'm saying. Just like you, you want to have a car that's practical. really.
57:34Cal:Nah, say the car you want. Nah, I won the
57:35Chip:812 super fast. The Ferrari. Which by the way is still practical
57:39Cal:I think you can daily it.
57:40Chip:I tell you the one that I really want is the SF90 Ferrari Spider. That thing's mental. It's the least practical thing ever.
57:50Cal:I saw a video today the Ferrari F80 without the black. Do you know the one that they put the black stripe on? I saw that in Monaco. They took it off and it was driving through Monaco and it looks unbelievable. Got me a little bit hyped online and then I realised I don't have the coin for that. just borrow it man least one pretend fake it till you make it come on we're all out here doing that
58:10Chip:what you thought the people running to his stage were real it's called AI bro 100 % man it's getting good that thunder
58:18Cal:audio listeners don't know if you caught up on that it was not that is mental is it raining outside
58:23Chip:oh is it just opening the heavens down your gig's indoors isn't it correct thank god we were about to see an
58:32Cal:evacuation so i was awake last night i don't know how i was i don't know where you were last night but maybe about 11 30 fucking hell this but worse thunder lightning every 10 seconds proper storm pissing it down i felt like i was in like movie twister so i landed at 7 30 and we sat on the runway in the plane until 10 p.m so two and a half hours like half the way because of the storms that happened yesterday so what they had like too many planes like landing late or whatever and it was so funny i've never heard that level of disorganization because the cabin staff kept coming through every 20 minutes and like sorry yeah this is just an update from the captain um we we aren't able to go to our original gate so we've been sent over to this gate and then the plane would move um we are supposed to be going into this gate but this plane hasn't pushed back in time so we've been assigned this gate oh we're going to this gate but there's three planes in queue for this guy and we've been put behind them.
59:26And I'm like, it's almost a bit scary because you're sat in a plane on the runway and you're thinking they're having chaos going on around here.
59:34Chip:Well, also, American Airport's air traffic control lately has been shaking. I felt like a sitting duck. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Seriously, no. All right, cool. Anyways, you've got a sound check. Sound check, yes. And then we've got a ferment all the way till 1.30. The good news is we've got a dinner, we've got booze, we've got New York City to explore until 1.30. This dinner's on me. The next one will be on you when I win. When do you think we should rock up for the actual thing? If you're starting at 1.30, when do the cool kids arrive? We got a couple boys. I reckon it has a nice green room. Yeah. I reckon we get there midnight-ish and start popping bottles in the back.
1:00:13Chip:Fine, if I have to.
1:00:15Cal:I will be there no matter what, buddy. Good man. Yeah, that comes as no surprise.
1:00:19Chip:Anyways, guys, look, if you didn't know, loaded, you can sign up for seven... no you can't sign up for seven days you can get a seven day free trial um obviously we've got all the vlogs going out we've got the bonus uh podcast uh world cup vlogs the extended versions uncensored i think there was a cock on the latest one um and we're also giving away a thousand pounds so go ahead check it out and vic thank you very much for swinging by i know you got a busy schedule but some things are more important in life and it's called shooting the shit with the boys 100 appreciate you guys and don't forget if you do win it's dinner on us but i know you put some stupid shit in there.
1:00:55So there's no way you're winning this.
1:00:56Chip:All right, guys, we'll see you on the next episode. Bye-bye.
