In short
The episode is a Tottenham-focused chat mixing football talk with off-topic banter and listener Q&A. Topic highlights: (1) Madison’s new YouTube injury video and what it reveals about anxiety, access, and how long he’ll be out; (2) debate over Romero’s Premier League disciplinary record and whether his bookings are acceptable given his role; (3) discussion of Spurs kit nostalgia and badge/kit design takes; (4) speculation about Muan(i) to start (including a joking “tits” remix prompt) and whether he could fix Spurs’ left-side issues; (5) questions about Vicario’s long goal kicks vs VDB (likely foot/hamstring issue); (6) Vuskovic’s Hamburg loan and whether continental loans are better than lower-league English ones.
Guests
No named guests appear in the transcript; it’s just the hosts (Alex, Rick, Flav, plus other recurring voices like “T,” “Windy,” “Spooky,” and “Ellie” mentioned as a show representative).
Key claims/examples
Madison’s surgery access is unusually open; he’s not scheduled back until June, making a World Cup squad unlikely. Romero is argued to be “top 10” and that reckless closing-down after a goal is the main concern. Vuskovic is praised for calm performances for Hamburg, including after being pumped by Bayern.

1:39It's the fighting.
1:43It's the fighting. Clock. It's a fight
1:51It's a fight It's a fight It's a fight It's like a challenge Like my mouth Like a finish And I'm like Not right The complete revelation here Is that Alex eats Jacob's cream crackers Dry Just one after the other as well Oh fucking hell Dry why yeah yeah oh my god no no nothing literally straight out of the pack why don't start eating it and eating in the mic just we'll get it you're eating the crackers do not eat anymore um what what um you can eat anything you want alex you can have so poor right now honestly like this that that genuinely genuinely gonna think about it now i think that might be the only thing i could eat but wouldn't need you know preparing in some way in the house right so so you've got you've got raw raw ingredients but no no it's just not much it's just not much um you just said you haven't got money i haven't got any money if there's anyone out there listening that has about 35 grand that they don't need um if you could send it to me well i can do we could split it we can no no i need it all alex you don't need you don't understand that much i need this 35 grand all right specifically have you got how much have you got you got any money hey rick you no honestly the days of me being quite well off and i kind of used to do little humble brags in the group i said the other day i said when i'm when i thought you're backing the money out you're backing the money yeah but it's more with the solicitors rick right once it's done once it's done i am gonna be rich again and i'm not gonna be humble about it at all i've got a proposition for you when you sell the house just give me 35 grand you'll get it back eventually okay yeah but i also i gave you some football shirts to use so for people at home um i've had alex's uh tottenham shirts which actually if you look at them and some of them it's probably worth they're worth a bit of money these retro shirts for some reason what person wants to go out and buy really old shirts and wear them i don't know what people get from them but it's not for me but you just will not pick these shirts up yeah but can i can i just i'll explain for the listeners is that this flav text me one day was when i was still living in london saying oh i've got i'm doing this thing for ball street where we're like doing small shirts have you got any and i was like well yeah i could go home and like get some to aylesbury uh and i could bring them like tomorrow if you want yeah yeah yeah that'd be amazing mate thanks for that so i go and do all this i drop it off we even did a thing on uh the fighting cock with him as well.
4:32And then Flav left Ball Street to go and make his millions on his own. And then the shirts were just never seen again. And then suddenly... They left the Ball Street. My old boss had to meet up in a car park and get them off him. But how long have you had them now? I'd say a good eight years. It's my fault. That's not a joke either. I'd say eight years. When we used to make football content at Ball Street and making Spurs content back then, that would that would well i left i left seven years ago so it could have been it could be nine years i've had these why do you want them anymore because it's like the first shirt that i ever owned it's got jindler on the back yeah what's your favorite well go back this is a q a podcast obviously international break we've got lots of questions but if you look back at your favorite Spurs shirts what where would you go Rick oh god um it would have to be at the moment I still have very fond memories of the I think when everyone thinks this shirt if I just say Dele Alli I think maybe not the actually not the sash it's the it's the I think it's got like the blue shoulders with the gold like trim i think it's like the 2016 17 what the one that everybody hated no i don't remember people hating that one the leicester season yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah fair enough do you remember the um that that kit that it had like the sort of grayish white bit and it had a yellow on the shirt yeah and there was a bit of a promo where harry kane went and give one of these kits to a kid who was sick or something.
6:15And he goes, oh, it looks better on. He's like saying, this is a terrible show. I know it is, but if you put it on, you feel better about it. Yeah, that was a bad one. I think Nike's net positive, do you think, for the kits that they've designed? Yes. A couple of belters, I thought. I mean, they've gone big. This year's been great. Do you like this year? Yeah, all of them. The black kit is sensational. Watching Spurs go out there, and we've won every game when we've played it as well. It looks the part, doesn't it, Rick? My only issue with the yellow one, I don't know if any... Have you got the yellow one, Rick?
6:51I'm not sure. Not yet, not yet. My only issue with the yellow one is, obviously it's got like the total 90 kind of... It's almost like a shield shape, isn't it, on the front, like that little thin blue line. Kind of perfectly highlight. If you've got a bit of a gut, perfectly highlight the gut. Like that. It's just... So if you're not like washboard flat stomach, It's like going, look at this. Look at that. Oh, it goes down a bit there and out a bit there. Can I say a controversial take here? I don't like the old badge on the new shirts. And I would say we should never have changed it, but I don't go, I don't understand why we've gone back to it.
7:28What is the reason? Is it 25 years since we had that badge or something? What is the reason? Just a new angle to make money. That's all it is. it works it does I don't think it was you more interested in buying that kit because it had the old badge on it yeah oh really okay well so it is marketing and you've fallen for it well no because we get it from other places can't believe it can't believe it yeah no I'd say I'd say like net positive I think the best worst kit manufacturer of Pony yeah but it's all just about memories and about what because that yeah my first kit was my first proper kit was a was a pony one i had uh so i had the jindler one and then but just before that i bought the it was a yellow one again with the old shield type emblem with the um the original kind of spur badge and i had i wanted i had chris i had armstrong on the back but my dad had like space like well that's a long name i've spent a lot on the letters like get the numbers from somewhere else so i had the letters of armstrong in the proper font but they just gone to like some random like independent sports store and just got plain white numbers armstrong in the shirt and then just white number 11 i think i've told the story but my stepmom was pretty handy with a needle and thread still is and she put uh eight she cut out eight in blue material and put it on the back of my the umbrose yellow kit and written the words barmbi over i didn't mind as a kid i thought yeah that's quality i've got his name on the back when i was about nine oh how old would i have been when did nicky barmbi leave spurs so i'd have been what 96 maybe 95 96 yeah yeah so so i would have been about eight nine i wrote a letter to Alan Sugar saying, is it true that we're going to sell Nick Barnby?
9:34Like in big purple felt-tip pen. And I got a letter back with a signed picture of Nicky Barnby about two months before he left and like a little pack of goodies and stuff. That's quite nice, actually. Do you know my earliest memory of having a football kit wasn't a Tottenham one, it was a Brazil one, the Zico Brazil kit. It was my dad's favourite kit. Then he bought me a replica jersey when I was little. And the only thing I can think about when I think about Kit is when I went swimming and shit myself and didn't tell anyone. I love that story. Just carried on going swimming until my dad caught me.
10:11He went, Gary, have you shit yourself? And I was like, no. And I had shit, completely shit myself. I kind of felt like I think what I was thinking is the water will wash all the sin away. Yeah. I mean, that's just true. That happened to me like in... Shit everywhere. there was shit all over my trunks up my back it's terrible when that happens when you can't help it like it happened to me on my honeymoon oh as an adult yeah so have you ever been out and didn't tell anyone and just sat with it for a bit not sat but I had to get in a C but we went out for a restaurant I had just had something to eat but it must it like it galloped through me it galloped and I was just walking back you know hand in hand it's a nice night it's you know walking along the promenade in in Hawaii and I was like oh tummy hurts a bit and then just and it just it just happened I had I didn't even say anything I just dropped her hand and just started like a light jog she's like where you going what's what's happening and I just kind of jogged into it but I could feel it like it was already coming so I was like well I can't there's gonna be little blocks of shit on the on the on the things you got shorts on like nice dress shorts so just ran into the sea at night which is well dangerous out there where was you in hawaii i just just paddling around and stuff attracts marine life and it was just so i just had to sit there and then i kind of like wash it and then just took pants off put them in a bin and just put wet shorts on and then just walk back to the room imagine if alex had been attacked by a bull shark just or a tiger shark because he needed not this is terrible what a terrible evening I just shit myself on my honeymoon now I'm going to attack my fucking bull shark okay let's do some questions actually let's go straight into boys have you watched the this is from Hot Ask 3312 have you watched Madison's new YouTube video way more interesting in my opinion than the sanitized club content has it changed the way you see players at all I saw the first one and I've started the second one I love it unfortunately i've seen neither there are my to watch list along with every fucking other thing but my daughter has uh watched both of them and she loves it absolutely loves it um but yeah it is quite good to see that uh behind the scenes kind of um content especially coming from players it seems so relaxed don't they the players yeah yeah but i don't know um i think it's going to be I think we'll probably see more players do this type of thing because I think you know after you finish your career I think people want to go into I think players love gaming I think they love like YouTube and they're of that age that they they probably want to create stuff on their own but um yeah I've I've seen bits and pieces of it I've not watched it all i've watched the first one uh and yeah especially the bit when he's in with um the specialists and the surgeon and stuff and talking about what his worries are and how it feels and you know what what what he's worried about afterwards and all the rest of it and the fact he's talking about his age and you know this is my last because it should be hitting peak and like that side of things i found interesting the bit where he's just like because where it's just like oh hi like i said all the players are coming and cuddling him and stuff so sometimes that's a bit like people know they're being filmed so i'm not i'm never 100 sure about what uh what that's like really but it's genuine it is interesting especially the the bits he's an emotional guy as you can as you can see so seeing yeah it makes you does it does make you think like you know we forget about players very quickly when they're injured for that long you know because you know they're not who we talk about every week um and that must be difficult you know there's a couple of things that surprise me how much access he's got obviously he's gonna be there and the access isn't wrong word is how much he's allowed to show is what what surprised me especially when these sort of players are kind of their brands and their their exposure to the press is managed so neatly by the club and the press officer for him to be able to just go out there and record whatever he wants and put it out I'm sure it goes past the club's um you know eyes and stuff and he isn't just pushing it out because there'd be all kinds of contractual stipulations about what you can and can't say about the football club when you're playing for him but it is it is nice stuff i like it it's not you know someone mentioned here he says it's probably more insight in his video than the amazon documentary yeah great to see some unfiltered content and and you're right al you know in terms of the the how emotion how emotional how anxious he is in the run-up to speaking to the doctor and there's one point i don't know if it is it's his dad i don't know who his agent and he's sitting with him and he's just you can see he's talking about the injury and he's talking about how it felt and and he keeps looking at this bloke for support or something he felt like it looked really vulnerable and it was interesting you know some people when they're really anxious they just spew and and they can't stop talking And it kind of looked like that.
15:35And it was an interesting insight into a player, as you say, Alex, who's super emotional. You also forget how young they are. Like, we're all, you know, I'm 38. You know, he's 28. Clearly, I'm 38. Come on. Look at his face. Look at him, Ricky. In moisture. I've got like a new skincare routine and everything. It's literally taking years off me by the week. it's just mental stuff anyway um but yeah like you forget like at 27 28 having like a surgery where you're having to go to sleep and you know this might affect your whole career like that's a lot to to deal with you know and it's easy to forget that these are still very young lads you know madison's what 28 how old dragerson who had his 22 last year yeah you know that's that's big shit man it's world cup year next year as well isn't it so like he's but he hasn't been a regular for england and i think he's coming into his peak now uh he wants to be at that world cup it's going to be like his main only shot really so he needs to be back on that pitch and hitting top performances as soon as possible to try and get himself in that squad well i mean as a professional footballer and you've got to aim for something, whether or not it happens, that's where his mind will be.
17:03Yeah, he's not scheduled to come back till June and the World Cup's in July. Oh, fucking hell, really? Yeah, he's not going to play again this season. Well, I mean, this is part of the thing they were talking about, though. They've said, look, the optimistic aim and let's work towards the fact that you might have five games at the end of the season. Oh, God, he's never making that squad. Poor cunt. No, I don't know why I'm laughing about that. No, he definitely ain't. Yeah, and that's it now. There's no more World Cups for him at 28. The next one, maybe at 32, he'd have to be... You never know.
17:37You never know, but yeah. Maybe Euros. Yeah. 30, could be. And like I've said, I've banged on about it over and over time. I genuinely think he just doesn't get the ratings he deserves. Nor does Romero. I don't know if you saw this. I saw a bit of content earlier. Some fucking geezer winds me up. No doubt my path will cross with him at some stage. but he's a geezer who he's on DR Sports which is which is Robbie's show he's a Liverpool fan and and look I don't mind you can support whoever you want but I don't want to have a conversation tell me about Tottenham when you've come from London and support Liverpool like I don't I don't want to hear you I don't respect your opinion that's just how I feel about it right I know his dad's probably a scouser right whatever right but all I can see is you choosing to support Liverpool when you're from London.
18:23That's all I can see. So when you're saying Romero isn't even the top 10 centre-backs in the Premier League, I'm going to be even more irritated. And I'll tell you what, I'm going to engage with your content and I'm going to share it.
18:37It's not that, right? It's just the smugness he's got. Like, I've chosen to support Liverpool. We're now the best and I'm going to be smug with it. I just, you're not going to have my respect. Not that that means anything. He doesn't even know who I am. Is he in top 10? Of course. Center backs in the Premier League? Fucking hell. Yeah, of course he is. Someone said Milenkovic of Nottingham Forest is better than him. And Murillo. Yeah, right, mate. Winner World Cup. Winner World Cup. I mean, but this is just football discourse now. No, he's being honest. Because there's so much content and stuff now, people just have to say stuff.
19:19like the commentary the other night about Romero when he got booked and it was like, oh, there's his obligatory kind of daily, like weekly yellow card. And I'm like, you clearly have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I got in trouble for saying something similar, didn't I? Did you? Yeah, on the overlap a couple of, about six months ago. Never told you about it. You must have seen it. Oh yeah, I watch everything you're in. No, no, not that. I don't mean that. I mean, like, I made a point of bringing it to the group because I got turned on by quite a lot of people. oh did you yeah so i said i was on the overlap and this is when romero had played one in missed one in two games for us and we had the conversation on this podcast and he was very strong at the time that he should have stayed and he was right um whereas at the time i was like we can't fucking rely on this guy he can't he's never available so i made this sort of bumbled point my point was to say that he wasn't available to us.
20:15But what I said was that his suspension record is appalling. Something along those lines. It wasn't exactly that. But you could see the point I was trying to get at. But people were like, how can this guy, he's had, what was it? He's missed five games from suspension since he's played at Spurs. The rest have been injuries for sure. So these people are saying, who the fuck is he? He can't represent us. What you mean? You're saying the internet didn't, they didn't spot the nuance. I remember yeah you remember that Rick yeah yeah yeah actually I saw a fresh clip as I was having a cheeky turn out this morning yeah overlap Romero you chatting about Romero there is this when the clip goes out there's this sinking feeling I get because the clips are what people watch they don't watch the show and I always think I pretty much I think I've straight batted that.
21:11I think I'm all right. There's nothing that's going to come back and get me for this episode. Some cunt finds some angle and comes and gets me. I think you'll be all right with this one because when I checked, they've turned the comments off. Is that good? Yeah, that means it's either horrific. No, no, I mean, there's three comments on there. That's it. It's only just gone up there. Yeah, I know, but they've turned it off. So you'll be all right. What, it says comments turned off? Oh, only specific people can reply to this content. oh i think that might be because of there was another guy maybe that the basically i think they're probably realizing the influence that that show has the overlap has when you're on it like when you're on it you know like of everything else i've done you over you know when you've been on the overlap based on how many people abuse you does it maybe it's got something to do with the whole neville flags stuff going ah yeah yeah that's probably it i thought it was that or it It might have been the Forrest fan, Greg, who got cancelled because he was – this is what's crazy.
22:17Sometimes they get it right. Sometimes they get it wrong. They put together Palace and Dan and Greg together in the run-up. It's like a powder gig moment. Forrest are going to steal Palace's place in the Europa League. They put them together and they have a little argument, nothing too major. Then they clip it up, put it out. Then, obviously, both sides go mental. And the Palace fans started digging into Greg's history and he posted some sort of problematic tweets back in 2016 about Muslims. And so he was cancelled. So I thought it might have been something to do that. The world's biggest soccer tournament has arrived and you can trade the entire tournament on Calci.

24:32Mate, it's hard to know who they choose. So for people that don't know, Greg was the Forrest fans' representative on the overlap, and he kind of feels like he's been replaced with this young girl called Ellie. Who I thought was very good, actually. Yeah, she held her own. Yeah, gave Rory some shit. Nothing wrong with that. For a 22-year-old girl, she's pretty ballsy, to be fair. And it isn't a comfortable atmosphere to be in either. So I don't know why they choose who they choose, but they do. I'm not involved in that sort of stuff. I'll just turn up and leave. Can I just mention something? Going back to Romero, I swear I read an Ali Gold article earlier and Romero has three yellow cards in seven games this season, which if he gets two more, that means if...
25:22Yeah, exactly. Only one game, though. Yeah, it's fine. I don't mind. I think he's developed massively, hasn't he, Romero, since he'd come back and made captain, he's shifted somewhat. He was reckless before. He did go in mentally on people. He was spiteful. I think all those things are fair to say. I think he'd already started to turn that at the beginning of last year because I remember a conversation at the beginning of last year about how his disciplinary record was pretty decent. I just think, I don't mind the five bookings or however many it is. I'm all right with that because of what we ask him to do.
25:58We ask him to step in and make those challenges early and play out and gain that space aggressively. That is what it is. You're going to miss some of those and that's fine. As long as it's not the stupid kind of... That was my issue with him with the Brighton game. When we conceded the second goal, he'd had it pinched off him at some point. And then two seconds later, you see him fucking trying to close down the goalkeeper. Like he's chasing a madman just to try and hit someone because he's wound up. And we ended up conceding that second goal. That's the only thing that I don't want to see. The rest of it I'm all right with.
26:32Yeah. I think this season, Melendrick, given the fact that Frank plays football with Van der Ven and Romero's relationships improved, I think he's still bugged down by what, and the narrative around the two of them is still caught up a little bit on the post of Coglu era. What was asked of them was crazy in hindsight, right? Yeah, and I think as well, because of the injuries, injuries to both of them and how often they played together that they didn't have kind of a relationship they didn't have that rhythm of playing each game together having that true understanding of who is going to do what and what is after them under Ange as well and I think it's a lot more um clear under under Frank and what they need to do and he will definitely get the best out of them and I do feel like there will be less injury so they will be there'll be more consistent playing time together so I think with that people will actually sit up and take notice of this partnership that is developing at Tottenham with those two for sure what about if I sang you Mawani Mawani rub your tits all over my body
27:59your remix I've got for you
28:04what one do you prefer Rick I do like the tits one I like his tits all over my body just oiled up just sliding over me like a snake
28:19If, Rick, if it guaranteed him that he started for Tottenham the weekend against Villa, would you let him rub his tits over your body? Yeah, I would. Yeah, yeah. Why not? Why not? It's good stories to tell, isn't it? You've done it all before. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Why not? Why are you always the vessel that has to be used in order for us to get what we want as well? But I don't mind. As long as we get what we want. I don't know what secretly happened for us to win this fucking Europa League what did Rick go through really we know what he went through and partaked into in order to get who was the player that even was it Xavi Simmonds wasn't it through the door yeah it was Simmonds yeah and what happened in that in that Premier League between Ricky and Daniel Levy that's why he left scandal came out strange how we never get interviews with the hierarchy I know that it's never going to happen now.
29:22It was a room of whispers around Hotspur Way. Daniel's been meeting a little Anglo-Indian.
29:33At a Premier Inn in Watford. It's all hush-hush. Amazing, that'd be well funny. So if Marnie gets to rub his tits all over Ricky's body, then he might start against Villa, which is exciting, right? It could be, boys, you never know, that we have a world-beater. I mean, obviously not, but maybe. But what if he's so much better than we thought? Because we definitely have issues on the left. We have issues in the night, and that's the biggest problems, right? He might solve at least one of those. We know he's very good, because we were all very excited about the thought that we might sign him last year.
30:10So, you know, yeah, I'm really excited about that. And that could end up being, I know we've all had a bit of a moan about that left-hand side, Johnson and whatever we think of Tell and Odebeer. But he should be a significant upgrade on those. There's absolutely no reason why he wouldn't be. I'm quite excited. I'm going to go and say I think we finished the season with Mouane as our starting number nine. And any signs? Yeah, and then he signs. Yeah. It also, Plettenberg reported on Twitter earlier that Spurs are already looking to make that permanent, that deal with Paulina. And the relationship between Thomas Frank and Paulina is really strong.
31:02So that's positive as well. And suddenly we've got, and I know this is less exciting, not exciting at all really, but interesting nonetheless. less you've suddenly got a squad that's quite rammed and one that can be used to sell players on like we're well past the stage now where we've got no saleable assets like if Odebeir doesn't work out or Tell doesn't work out Odebeir got two and Tell got one last night as well by the way in the other 21s although I don't know they were playing some farmers um but if one of them don't work they still have value um and we did an excellent episode of the lab which you've probably heard on on this feed where they talked about depreciating depreciating value of transfers or players rather what was interesting was if you buy a richarlison for 50 million pound each year he depreciates by 10 million so if he's in his final year of his contract and he's on the books as having a value of£10 million with one year left on his contract.
32:05If we sold him for£50, that would mean a profit, PSR profit of£40 million. We've got a lot of players a little bit like that. So, yeah. Interesting. I don't remember what a point I was making. It was a very good episode of Elab. He's great. Ben White's really good. Go and follow him. Ben underscore White 86. um glass jaw 36 says what's the worst thing that's ever been recorded in the pod this is excluding the hope solo comment by t all those years ago and is alex from bristol's segment about passion up there the passion update is such a bad idea yeah but it was i i think it It was a combined idea.
32:53It wasn't just saying... Yeah, what happened was is that we were taking... This was in the day when obviously we were all together as a podcast extra inch and we were talking about the youth update and I was mocking and was like, oh, fuck it, who cares about the kids? Passion, that's what we care about. So I did this little mock passion update for about 15 seconds and a voice note in the group. Flab was like, oh, that's gold. Do that. Do that next week. So I did it and I think it lasted like two weeks. and then because it dawned on me really it's like there wasn't a huge amount after you've done the initial joke like fucking yeah Ben Davis love that great tackle there wasn't really anything else to say so it was it was hush it was quietly quietly kind of filed away it still comes up I think you should try it again I think you should bring it back this season mate I mean Paulinho's all about passion isn't he I fucking love him he is a bit of you yeah other than He reminds me very much of me.
33:54Of course. If he could pass. Of course.
33:59Okay, Flamingo7430 says, what did T say? Not everybody knows, do they? I guess the Hope Solo. T back then was a bit of a menace. He would live on the edge quite often. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't want to bring it back up. No. There'll be someone who's listened to this on Reddit who probably will remember. we're all changed it was a different time it was a different time what's the worst thing that's ever been recorded i've mentioned it before it never made it we cut edited out even then but it was man it was a there was a big segment on no i don't want to say because it's like it's not even funny now but if you're think if you're thinking of what i think you're thinking of do not even say it don't even fucking dance around what the pretense of it was just it was deleted and we will never talk of it again well can you just so what if we i know we're on the same path yeah can you just whatsapp me now what what it is right okay and i'll tell you and i'll if it isn't that then i will say it oh okay okay we've had some ones where not like the worst but some of the like i remember the first time flab wasn't there me spooky tea and windy tried to record a podcast on our own uh and like the instructions flab sent as as you can absolutely imagine were fucking horrific uh and we just we were there for about four hours i think and recorded a half an hour podcast it was um uh that was good but one one i've never i've never been more angry was when I wasn't there.
35:38I was in South of France in Berits of the Misses and it was Windy Bardi. Oh yeah. You? No, I wasn't there. No, Windy Bardi's spooky and it was at Bardi's house and he'd laid on a spread with red wine and grapes and cheese and shit and then sent a picture. And it was almost like, firstly, this is what happens when Flav's not around. And secondly, and I'm like, that ain't our look. That's not the vibe of the podcast. Is it fucking red wine and grapes? then they fucked off and did the extra inch grapes up their own ass now if they want to

36:17isn't that Rick what you said forgot about that yeah that's good I've just replied should I say that one you can do it yeah yeah yeah you think that's fine no no I don't think it's fine but you can do a bit of patter around it but not the actual thing don't say the full word So there was a disgraced footballer back in the day. And we had me, it was Carl Donnelly, and we were pissed up. And there were other boys, I can't remember who was on it. And we did about 10 minutes. It was me. And me, I think, actually. I think it was all us three, yeah. Yeah. And it was immense fun talking about it. And then in the cold light of day, you're like, oh my God, that could well go down wrong.
37:01So we deleted it. Thank Christ. Jesus. Anyway, Iwa Dizzle says, would you guys ever consider doing a trip to part of the States for a live pod fighting cock social? Flav mentions the American audience from time to time and it would be a hit. Maybe time it were one of the NBC Premier League morning series where they host a festival for two days in the host city for the match week games. I'm English living in the US. Listening to you guys may feel like I'm back home. John's mum's tits or something. Nice one, mate. you'd like to wouldn't you rick mate there is nothing more i would love to do than do that honestly i'd like if there is some kind of way that we could work it in the future i i don't know how we do that we've talked about it before yeah we have we've always flirted with the idea and then it's kind of like right how much do flights cost for three of them right now no, we can't do this by it.
38:01That goes in the draw for next year again until someone emails in and messages about us. How do you think I feel about it, Rick? Yeah, I can imagine the flight is what you'd be like. You'd be like, do you know what? I've put this off for so long that I think I'm going to do it, Rick. I think I'm going to do it. And you're like, Rick, how long does it take to fly to Neat? No, no, no, no. I'm not doing that. Over the Atlantic Ocean. Over the Atlantic Ocean. if it's one of them ones that go up around Greenland might do it might be seen in that one not all of them do not all of them do by the way no some of them go through the middle yeah I think to New York they always go they sort of fly up around don't they I think you'd be fine I think as long as you had some little spaces where you could kind of just retreat every hour like you'd be it'd be fine it'd be fun once you're out there die as your palm yeah we'll be alright we'll be heroes opposite sides of the plane yeah I don't want you anywhere near me, Ricky, on that plane.
38:58Right, okay. Can you imagine us sitting next to each other? No, I don't want to. I'd be like, when the plane's taken off and you'll hear it, why is it doing that? Why is the plane slowing down as we're taking off? I know it's about slowing, decelerating. I understand that. It doesn't feel like it. It feels like it's falling out of the sky, okay? I've done loads to America and to like 10 hours to Maui and then five hours in headwind. Sorry, 10 hours to LA and then five hours in headwind to Maui. and I've done it so many times, but I still hate it. You do hate it. I think if you just don't like it, you don't like it.
39:30It's just one of those things. You're scared of flying as well. I'm not scared. I'm not amazing, though. I'm not great with... You're middling. Yeah. I think that's where most people are. What I can't stand is the freaks that love it. Yeah, like laughing when you're bouncing around and drinks are falling over. Yeah, mental. I remember once we were coming back from Berlin for a stag do and the weather was horrific. We'd been delayed on the runway in Berlin because it's a storm in London. It's mental. We might be here for a few hours. And I was like, okay, well, at least you missed a storm. Fine, I'll settle in, whatever.
40:05About 15 minutes later, pilot comes on and goes, it looks like we've got a little bit of a window. We're going to go now. And I was like, no, not now. How big of a window? How big of a window? So for the whole hour and a half, I'm like, fucking hell, what is this going to be like? Anyway, we get into, as we're coming into Luton, and it was mental. Like it was like he had to stop and go around again, like twice just to try and land the fucking thing. And there's this group of girls. They must've been coming back from a school trip or whatever, maybe 15, 16, like screaming and laughing. And my mate, who was even worse than me, like just got up, sweat, pouring from his face.
40:38And went, will you just shut the fuck up, all of you? This isn't funny.
40:44I always look for the babies in the plane. Like if there's babies in the plane, I know it ain't going down. God ain't going to let this one go down. so um um yeah so maybe maybe one day um there's no chance i can go to america without my missus she would she would uh why because it's like a dream for us to go to america okay as long as it's her not just you because you can't be without her every time oh no no no no i'm with that's genuinely what i thought it was then that's why i went on we're 13 13 years in now Alex I know and you're just exactly the same as you were on day one it's nauseating and lovely I wish she was um right no she is I love her so much uh Swiggy G says Flav it seems like you've had an incredible professional growth over the last couple of years woohoo uh thank you very much from solely being an entertaining host on a fantastic podcast fucking hell he can come again into now we're having multiple podcasts that's multiple lads that allow for both the lads panzer of the fighting cock and jaffin as well as more mature discussions conducted in the lab overlap and jaffin again so it's great to see and my question is what changed for you and was it gradual is it gradual or more of a singular event that altered your perspective and vision going forward.
42:12Lads Anonymous not mentioned there, Rick. No, I know. What a cunt. This person, what a cunt. Name all everything he's ever done. Year 6 recital. Fucking poem he done in year 10. I love the fact this is a podcast where Passion Update's been mentioned and not that. Yes, you forgot to mention Lads Anonymous, which is the podcast I do with Ricky. Yeah. Yeah, there you go. I It feels a bit self-indulgent to answer this, Sweeney. But I'll tell you what, I am even more self-indulgent. I did a podcast called Poddingham Podspurs by Michael Dian. And I was interviewed about all of this shit. So I would recommend you go and listen to that and it'll tell everything.
43:01What a lovely question. Thank you so much. It made me feel fantastic. I hate him.
43:08What it does show, though, is that like... You have to get up off your ass and do stuff if you want to make, you know, whether it's a career or make something that is regular out of your hobby and that type of stuff. And that is one thing that you and you, Rick, to be fair, you know, have done. And if you just put stuff out there and are genuine about stuff, all the things that we enjoy that we tell each other about, you know, podcasts or, you know, people on who do skits or whatever. but it's always ones that you feel that it's actually quite genuine and just real, not trying too hard and just comes up with good stuff.
43:43And that is something that you have both done. Sasha, I'll give you both your flowers. Oh, thanks, Heather. Cheers, mate. Flav hates talking about himself so much. It's my favourite thing to do in front of people is just say, look how well Flav's done at this.
43:59Relative Cattle5718 says, what do we make of Mickey taking long goal kicks against Leeds? kind of embarrassing for Vic or is there something more to it and Justin Bisu says Vicario's foot is still not good hence why he was swapped to try and go long with his left VDB taking the goal kicks Is that why it is? Because it was genuinely infuriating me against Leeds I was like what is this, fucking under nines You get the biggest kid to kick it as far as a champion Yeah it's got to be something to do with either a tight hamstring or his foot's not right because it's just so unnecessary. It's not tactical about that, is it?
44:37No, you're out of shape. If it's going long, you're kind of out of shape already. Yeah. So there must be some sort of injury. Same Syllabub. He says, does anyone actually look forward to the international breaks? All they do is break momentum. We may have built up and made me panic that our player is going to come back broken. Fuck them off during the season and have them all at the end, I say. Thoughts? Yeah. I mean, I mean, I hate international football in general, even in tournaments. I hate it. So it's not for me. But I appreciate that some people, you know, lower league teams, lower league clubs that are maybe a bit more England-centric.

You think you know a browser, but Gemini and Chrome, that's new. It can help you with practically anything on the web, like restoring a vintage motorcycle from a 50-page restoration block or finally break down that long article you've had open for weeks gemini and chrome is here for it ready to make anything online make sense there's no place like chrome check responses set up required compatibility and availability varies 18 plus i think um i think i said this on on um another podcast i do it wasn't in that list called football between the lines go and listen to that uh where we talked about these qualifying games and I genuinely think this is going to go down like a bucket of cold sick I get that right I think we should for the biggest nations you just don't make them qualify they don't have to qualify right every team in the top 20 in the in the league in terms of the coefficient or their their world rankings they get in by proxy and qualify and then you have qualifying groups of smaller nations like Faroe Islands and Gibraltar and all these little countries that can't really compete in an international tournament and they can qualify by playing each other and then at the end of the year you have a shorter season we finish in like april early may um and then you have you give the tuchel and whoever a month with the players before this before the tournament starts so they get a month together to train i think that's i think that's a good idea i think yeah i think yeah 20 might be a bit much because you know we've seen teams like italy netherlands Belgium and stuff not qualify.
47:5316. Maybe 10. And then you get that, you're guaranteed to be in that 10 for one loop, four years. And then, you know, that 10 is revised again to see if anyone has dropped off massively or improved massively. Yeah, I think that's pretty good. Then we don't have to fucking have these fucking things. And actually, wouldn't Tuchel prefer four weeks with his team together in a training camp than two international breaks in September and October, seven months before the tournament even starts. I completely agree. Yeah. Yeah, hating the national football. Nipple cunt.
48:36What's her name? Nipple cunt asked the question, what makes Danso a good third centre-back in your opinion? Could Vuscovic be starter next year? And if you had to eat every meal from now on with one condiment, what would it be? Just quickly, Vuscovic is tearing it up in Germany. Yeah, he is. I think there was some kind of rumour or agreement or something like that, that maybe he might possibly come back to Tottenham in January. But the manager for Hamburg has come out and said, we've spoken to Tottenham. They agree that his professional career is really important. They're watching him closely.
49:19and his development. So I think he'll probably stay there for the rest of the season. But there was, I can't remember the stat now, but he was like top in the top five leagues. And he's, he's doing amazing for such a young kid to go in. And like Hamburg's a huge team in Germany to play under that pressure and to be expected to lead their back line. And he's, you know, I think one of his, one of his first games was against, uh, by Munich. I mean, they've got pumped. Yeah, yeah, exactly. And then to come back from that and still keep his composure, his calmness, and to carry on those performances.
50:00I mean, the kid, there's so many players, man, that we've had that we just think is going to be the best thing since I spread. But this kid looks the real deal. It feels like he's the real deal, doesn't it? Well, and do you remember the reason why he was, the reason why he was allowed to go on leave is because we gave him the option. He said to him, your playing time is going to be limited. You've got Van der Ven and you've got Romero ahead of you. You've probably got Danto ahead of you as well. It's up to you. What do you want to do? And he's like, I want to go out and play. And that's exactly what you want.
50:35There's no good. I know some people are saying, why did we let him go? But you don't want him sitting on the bench. You want to look to the future in the next two or three years and think, what's the best for his development right now? And it takes up one half, dodgy half of football where everyone's like, oh, he needs a loan. We see it with Gray and Bergvot now. And out of all of that, right, how he's playing, how he's developing these rave reviews and all that, that doesn't matter to me. When he was on loan, is it Waterloo or something like that in Belgium? Yeah, Waterloo. I swear there's this image of he had shin pads on and he was wearing Tottenham shin pads.
51:14Yeah, he was. Yeah. I mean, yes, that's all that matters really. He's fucking Tottenham already. So let's have it. Bring him in now. Yeah, we could have a, we could have a very special one on our hands there. Just on, there's a link to that. Novel difficulty says, is the success of Vuscovic's Hamburg loan a sign that Vuscovic is an outlier or that we should more seriously consider continental loans rather than lower league English ones for our young players? because he comes from the continent and it made more sense for him to go back there. I think there's a healthy mix. We've loaned out a fair amount in Belgium and Germany, I think.
51:54So I think my only frustration with loans is I'd like to see more kind of top-end, like what we did with Skip. It was a top-end championship loan. And I know bottom-half Premier League teams or newly promoted Premier League teams maybe aren't willing to take much of a gamble on our youth teamers. so it probably would need to be higher championship. I feel like we don't put enough into higher championship stuff. It always seems to be just promoted League One teams or just League One and League Two. I can't remember a huge amount of championship loans that we've done, which might be a kind of happy medium.
52:28Mate, just on that, Dane Scarlett's been promoted to train with the England seniors because of Ollie Watkins' injury. Have you seen that? No, I haven't seen that. Wasn't it because they were training at... Aren't they training that Hotspur way or no? I don't know. I didn't really look into it much. I just saw that. I think maybe he was filling in for what Ollie Watkins would do. I don't know. It's not like he's been called up or anything. That would be crazy. Imagine that. What do you think is going to happen with him? Obviously, Mourinho loved him and he's always been in and around the squads.
53:04He's clearly got something about him. I'm not convinced in any way, but there's no value to me being not convinced. I haven't seen him play enough football. I just wonder what might happen. He just needs to... He scored goals in the Championship. He can score goals in the Championship. So he needs to find one of those stable clubs in the Championship. A perfect team for someone like that would be like Bristol City, where they're not going to go up, probably, not going to go down, probably, but a stable club. He needs to be somewhere like that, where there's not going to be some massive change or risk of going down the following season and starting again.
53:41Just somewhere where he can start to build. Because he will score goals in the Championship, but he's not Premier League quality. He might be a late bloomer as well. Boy with hat. Flav, you get£100 ,000 for home renovations, but the rest of the Fighting Cop members, past and present, get to Bonnie Blue, your mum. Ricky goes first and last. Bonus option. you get an extra 20 grand but you get a notification that a portion of the money has been put into the account immediately after the person has finished in your mum for example you get the notification that Mark has paid then 40 seconds later a notification that Carol has paid
54:25what's wrong with you mate there isn't a questionnaire either I don't know why the notifications bit is the funniest part what noise would it make there's no question though that's the most fucked up thing here it's just telling me Flav you get£100 ,000 for home but the rest of it's not so would you do it it doesn't even say that it's just that's what's going to happen that's disgusting
54:54I think we're kind of done really there's a few more but Usual Ad said did you see our blonde little bitch open gold miss versus Switzerland yeah I did there's nothing that fills me with much more joy than us calling them blonde little bitches that little blonde bitch even Kinski a pair of blonde little bitches
55:18alright we've got to wrap this up I've got there's quite a few actually we're missing out go on read them out yeah go on I've got another podcast to do with that five minutes of Gareth Dace It's about the Tottenham in the 80s for the lab.
55:37Okay. Ranga Dave, he says, when you're going to a match, is there one main moment that you really notice and associate with a match day experience? The one that makes you really notice that you're there. For me, it's when I get my first view of the pitch as I step out from the concourse. That's a nice question. Hearing Ricky's laugh. Yeah, I mean, yeah. it is just that view of the pitch smell of the grass really it does every time you go up that up the gangway and look at the pitch and the stadium it does it always is impressive yeah the first time the first time i saw it i was like wow have you not seen the instagram reel of that um american journalist who was there for the broncos game yeah the weekend just like yeah pissing himself at how good the stadium is that was quite interesting actually not like i haven't got any time for the nfl collaboration really i couldn't give a shit about it but they were it's the first time I've paid attention to how like the pitch being being away and it was about because NFL players are so massive that in normal stadiums are converted for NFL they lose the top 10 the first 10 or 20 rows of the seats because the players block the pitch but with us when the pitch goes away it dips so the players don't block the view of the pitch for the people in the stand and we don't have to have any conversion or lose any seats it's hugely popular there's there's not a huge amount of goodwill for obviously for nfl games going abroad and they've had it in brazil and they've had it in all sorts of places now um but it's it's one of the ones that year by year everyone's like almost just adopts the fact that our stadium is you know why wouldn't you go there um yeah yeah yeah uh i think it's a little bit different obviously there's the irony here is that we're complaining about potentially having Premier League games played in America or elsewhere and yet Spurs are home to a franchise that leaves America to play a competitive NFL game.
57:38But I suppose there's a different culture there. It's not the same as football. Teams get moved all the time. All right. Final question before I wrap this up. Okay, Coach says, what is that Man City child on the overlap really like? Some of these takes prove he has zero football knowledge before 2012. I feel sorry for him. Yeah. What is he like as a person? Lovely kid. Really lovely. He is a kid. 2012, he was probably born about five years before that. No, he wouldn't have met a great deal of experience before then. I don't see why he gets a lot of hate. He just seems like a guy who doesn't really say anything out of the kind of order.
58:27He's not doing anything wild. Just kind of sticking up for his club. Gets bullied relentlessly for it. It's a tough environment because essentially whatever's going on at Manchester City, he's then asked to answer for. And he's like, I'm just a kid that goes home and away. I don't know even about the fucking charges. So I do feel sorry for him. He is a young kid without any knowledge of football before 2012. And luckily for him, 2012, was that when they were brought out? He wouldn't know much more different. This is the Man City that he knows. And I like the fact he doesn't apologise for it as well.
59:03It's like, yeah, I don't know. I don't have any issue with him at all. I think he's a sound lad. And he's very friendly off screen. And he goes, he doesn't, I don't think he missed the game home and away last year for Manchester City. Fucking hell. He even went to the pre-season games in America. Good luck to him. Sad little cunt. I do tell him he's got to get a life. I'll tell you, when he gets some misses, that's all going to change. All right, that'll do. I've got to go.
