28It's the fighting. Cock. It's the fighting. It's the fighting. Cock. Come on, sir. No. When I was 16, my first job, and in the reception area, there was one toilet where you'd have to walk through, and it was just one toilet. Then the rows of gents' toilets were out the back, by the back of the warehouse. But someone, we never knew who, every morning would have a shit in that single toilet in the reception. And so you'd be walking as a client or employee into the reception and someone has done an absolutely stonking great big poo. And we used to call it the power poos because it was a power play.

18They would just do a massive shit and they just wouldn't care in reception. Disgusting. um well we when i worked at ball street there was um there was it was two offices that were it was like an open office but two separate offices it was like a weird sort of l shape and um there were two doors to reach the hallway and in the hallway there was um a toilet and somewhat like in my opinion given the fact that we were on a like seven or eight story floor building yeah that if you work in an office you don't poo near the office you poo upstairs or downstairs just away from the people yeah cool some fucking creature would go in there we weren't quite sure who it was we think we knew because I think it might have been one of the owners of the company who just obviously is like is like I'll shit where I want yeah yeah I'm paying for this so I'll pee where I want yeah and it used to fucking permeate through the company oh god we had one lad called Jed who was a big boy he was massive right yeah he was about 6 '4 and you knew when Jed was having a piss because it would feel, it would just, you'd be in the room, you'd be vibrating because the distance that the piss would have to go from his peen to the toilet water.

31And he wouldn't do us like a solid and just hit the bowl straight in the middle of the water. Yeah, you know when you do a wind, you can hear it echoing as it's going into the water. Because you're on different floors, you knew when Jed was doing it because it just sounded like it was raining inside the office. No, it sounded like there was like horses galloping outside.

54I went for a period of taking quite a lot of magic mushrooms, wouldn't advise it. And I would often go for a wee while under the influence and have a wee against the toilet demons, which were like little bubbly creatures. Oh, my God, really? Never told anyone about that. Probably will never have that conversation with anyone ever again. uh ricky is the q a podcast uh it's friday which we'd dip our toes in because obviously there's gaming as liverpool we're doing a proper preview tomorrow for patreon and almost all the questions from this q a podcast have come from patreon so if you want to become a patron uh then uh you can do so by going to patreon.com forward slash the fighting cock um ricky you said you said something earlier in the group that you've you've applied for you keep applying for away days yeah away away games i apply for every away game even though i don't have the loyalty points but then they send you an email afterwards to say we're really sorry you've been unsuccessful but it was 300 loyalty points so i kind of know i like to keep i have a little gauge of someone be like oh i might apply for leads and i'll be like hang on a second oh it's 312 last year so it might be so i like to kind of know what i'm going for um and then yeah the sunderland tickets sunderland away tickets came it's a close yeah and and like i normally i won't get tickets but i now because i know how shit tottenham are and how far sunderland is and it's like i think it's a sunday at two o 'clock i will definitely be able to get a ticket that's why i'm not applying oh you haven't applied no no no i'll get a ticket and i'll have to go i ain't fucking going anywhere for those bastards I think that you will.

45I think there will be a cutoff and we will sell our allocation. And it's testament to the incredible support, certainly the away support of Spurs fans. We just, regardless of what happens, will go. Yeah, I know. They will follow, follow, follow. Yeah. It's mad, really. It is mad, but it's just, you know, this is why all of this is so mental for so many of us to compartmentalise compartmentalize is that you just regardless what happens we're there and if you're not physically there then you're with them in some fashion and i think rick um as we as we move towards the end of the season now which could have massive consequences to us all that i think it's time to like there are many criticisms there are many things that have to be figured out there is a lot of retrospective thinking that needs to be done in the summer, but we're at a point now where we've all got to be together.

41Fans have got to be together. The players have to hear it. Regardless of how you feel the season has gone and decision-making has happened, we have to unify. Yeah. Because the players need to know that we're with them. And because if you're not, if you're separated as it feels like we are currently, and it feels like like performances on the pitch are from a group of players that don't feel supported I think and that's understandable as well you can understand where the sentiment comes from from Spurs fans but we have to we have to get together we have to pull together in this moment because it's crucial because if we don't if we don't do our bit as supporters and everyone's doing their bit by paying their money and going and all that sort of stuff but more than that, vocally, something has to change.

37If you find yourself going to the Tottenham Hotswold Stadium or travelling away with Spurs, it's got to be now about unifying behind this bunch of players and even the manager, whatever it might be, because we could not do it and we can continue to boo and all that sort of stuff, but it's not going to help anything. We're in a drastic situation and then something needs to happen. yeah i am like i mean like we're just saying about roa allocation it's always full and it's always um packed out but and and the players like i suppose like it because it does feel like the players are disinterested or down tools or frustrated or whatever it might be um but they can see that our fans travel for every single game we sell out our allocation every single game but then it comes kind of like um we're almost both both of us have resided that we are probably going to get relegated because there doesn't seem to be um any movement in since Tudor's taken over there's there's been no progression or there isn't been anything to hang our hat on uh I just really do think it's kind of going to be a bit not just vibes but the continued support of the players to let them know that this is a massive club and we just we cannot go down and to support them the whole way through it's not like you haven't been supporting them uh or like home games or anything but it's just i don't know like as soon as we go one nil down early on is to continue singing to continue going uh and to continue giving support because we're gonna need it and like you said but when it comes to the summer we'll have a fucking um debrief yeah oh you know or what they say in linked a wash up we'll have a fucking wash up shall we oh yeah after a meeting we'll have a wash up see how it's gone um and we can then we can do the langer the venkatesham we can do whatever it is that we need to fire higher point fingers at whatever but at this moment in time these last few games have to be treated like a cup final for all of us so um yeah man it's just it's just fucking it's it's just just on that rick uh seen the team news come out

13it doesn't rain but it pours like what i've never look this is what he got to do said he says no romero palina are out you got a concussion they're gonna be 10 days as long as they're fine by the way they have to show no symptoms after six days and if they don't then they're fine to return four days after that i think that's how the rule goes uh so romero is going to be out and And Pauline is going to be out for both the Liverpool game and Atletico game. Mickey is out, obviously, because he's got a red card. Pesuma is a problem. And Conor Gallagher has a fever, but we hope he'll be okay. And he said, always something is happening.

49This is very rare. I've never seen anything like this in my career. It's unreal, isn't it? Because we're in this position. We've got massive injuries, massive low confidence, and big, big, big problems. and there's an innocuous ball that's played in and Paulinho and Romero go with every bit of energy to get a nut on that ball and collide heads, which is resulting in them both being out. Yeah. It's just crazy. And we were scrambling around going, what's right? Is there going to be a concussion protocol being put in place here? And all of us were going, did they leave the pitch or not? I don't know.

33Yeah, that was my initial thought. Because they weren't subbed off because of the clash of heads, they just stayed off. Technically, they wouldn't have to go to – they wouldn't have the concussion rules against them because they weren't subbed off. They were just sat out. But apparently, you know, that's – there's been a different decision on that. And I know people keep saying about Trossard. I don't quite know what the deal was with that one and how he managed to escape it. but it also feels like... Was he subbed off? I don't know. I don't really know what the ins and outs, how he got around that.

10Well, probably because he was faking it and he wasn't actually, didn't have it and he was just trying to slow the game down and doing a bit of shit hours away and the doctors looked at him and go, no, he's not. There's nothing wrong with him, therefore. Right. Because it would be the doctors that have to advise. And so it should be because if you remember Vertonghen getting a knock on the head, I think it was when Mourinho was the manager and he stayed on and then was sick. And you're like, you can't, it's so important that you protect the health of a human being in these scenarios. And football has been such a sport where you just carry on regardless.

44You're expected to carry on. And like the head is really dangerous. You know, the sort of CTE or C, anyway, the head injuries that result in early onset, dementia and Parkinson's and things like that, that that these they need to be protected and the clash of heads between paulina and romero was really significant it looked terrible yeah then you saw romero sort of dropping not drop but like sort of take a knee and he was dazed you gotta protect him and bareville as well you know when he wanted to come on they want to because they the type of human beings and professionals who will want to carry on and want to play and and be on the pitch to make a difference regardless of what everyone thinks.

26That is the reality. These are professionals. They are, it is important to them what's happening at the moment and they'll want to play but they just can't. And yeah, so that, it's regardless of whether or not you want them to play, you have to take the lead from the doctors. And I think that's what happened and maybe Trossard, almost certainly, if he wasn't not able to play, it would be down to the fact that, you know, he faked it and cheated which wouldn't you know be surprising at all i never i never understood it more more when i was younger when uh players would have a clash of heads and one one of them would be the head would be pissing with blood they'd come off they'd get a bandage a bit of vaseline maybe injection or whatever yeah and then they'd go and play football again like you fucking mad bruv Like my head is splitting.

22It's blood pissing everywhere. And I've got to head the ball after that. I remember when I was a kid and I was like, someone pumped the ball up too much and playing World Cup doubles and someone crossed it and I edited it. I got a headache. I was like, I'm not playing anymore. Fuck that. Can you imagine bloody your head split open? You've got to play football. No chance. I just want to get a nod to the thumbnail that was created for this episode. We took it into Photoshop and adapted it to give it a little bit of penas for the uh thumbnail in order to catch attention and whatnot but the original photo was taken by a lady called frederique jensen and just search her up on instagram it's called the her her instagram account is the frederique jensen which is spelt in the danish uh language in that her Frederike is spelled F-R-E-D-E-R-I-K-K-E.

20And the only reason I want to be clear about that is because her work is unbelievable. It's so good. And she's such a lovely person because I messaged her and asked if we, you know, if we can use any of it and use it for the thumbnails. And she's like, yeah, yeah, what do you want? How can I help you? And you look at the standard of work. It's like, it's what you'd expect from, you know, uh you know a professional sports photographer which he is but there's something else to it and it's amazing and and like i just wanted to i didn't want her to think that we're just taking it without giving her credit because it is different from the shot she took of matisse tell but her work is amazing like you know we've long since been sort of champions of anybody who creates anything that is excellent around our football club sam cornish's work and you know so I just wanted to give her her flowers as the young people say and go and follow her Instagram account she is sensational her work is unbelievable it is the Q &A podcast Ricky yay so we'll go to our first question which is Rocky Flint said man for man this isn't the worst Spurs team I've ever seen we haven't got that twat ramon vega in defense for a start who is responsible for killing any sort of mojo in the team personally i think it stems back to ang or is there a bellend in the dressing room trying to fuck things up do you think there's a an issue ricky in terms of like the mentality in that or do you think this group of players are reactive to you know fan pressure and and the messages they receive on instagram because there is definitely an issue 100 percent Yeah, I think it's a bit of both.

09So I think when we were going for the Europa League and we were literally losing every single week, home and away, I think that does seep into your psyche about that, I don't want to say losing mentality, but it's just that after you are losing, you kind of become numb to it. and it's just like, well, on to the next one. We'll just come out in the interview and we'll just say, need to try harder, need to double down, need to take a look at ourselves, on to the next one. And then you repeat, repeat, repeat. Then under Frank, exactly the same. And it's kind of like he's coming out and he's, I don't know, he's saying, I felt we were good in the first half and then I thought we were good in the second half, like clutching at straws, but we're still just losing, losing, losing.

03and then I don't think the players are having Tudor either and again we are just continuing to lose and I just think because of that and because of the players are feeling the pressure the players are also maybe checked out because of World Cup and so they want to go to and represent their teams their countries I think there's also a bit of they've lost faith in the fan base and that connection with fans. I remember when, I can't remember who it was we were playing, but it was at White Art Lane and they're reading the team news out and then they read Frank's name out and we booed. Game hadn't kicked off.

50We were already booing Frank's name. Then we were down at halftime, so we booed the team off. And then at full time, we booed the team off again. and it's just that cycle of like why would you want to come out and do your best if you know you're going to get booed if you know if so those are all instances of like booing frank and then you losing at halftime and then losing at full time what about when you're playing in the game and there's a misplaced pass and you can hear the collective sigh of all the crowd or that sharp kind of noise above everyone of oh you fucking shit you've fucking done it again it's that kind of um ill feeling towards all the players and that is probably kind of uh seeped into how they've played now you can sit here well we can sit here and be like mate you played a fortune fucking play carry on this is what you're paid to do but also they're not robots and it's like if you've ever worked at a company where your manager's just been awkward, shit behavior, you just end up not wanting to do your best.

04You just end up just turning up for the nine to five, doing as minimal as you can whilst you're looking for another job. And I think that's where some players are at the moment. Yeah. No, I agree with you, Ricky. just it is I don't think there's any arseholes in the dressing room it doesn't feel like that it doesn't feel like Balotelli's there it doesn't feel like you know fucking Aubameyang or Gwendouzi at Arsenal or you know these players are disrupting the forward momentum of the club it feels like you know a much more greater and holistic issue at Spurs so I don't think there is any to answer your question Rocky.

47I don't think there's anyone who or there's no Belen there or anyone who's fucking up the dressing room. I think there's just this massive gap between the players and the fan base. And probably maybe the players and the manager. But whatever it is, it needs to be mended and it needs to be mended quickly because we're in this together now. It has to be. It has to be that way. Otherwise, we generally run the risk of where we are running the risk of there being a massive shift in how we follow our football club because that would be following the football club in the championship which we just cannot, it cannot be LinkedIn is pretty amazing at helping you grow your small business we cannot make your email response time faster we can help you sell, market and hire in one place we cannot help you find space for your three desk drinks.

48I was booked to do something on Tuesday, Rick, for Sky, right? And the producer was talking and he was saying, it depends what happens after the Liverpool game. And I'm like, we've got no players, we've got no defenders. We know what's going to happen after the Liverpool game. You can write the running order now, laughing face emoji. And he followed it up with a laughing face emoji. And I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, I can laugh at this. Yeah. Well, I can take the piss out of my family. You can't laugh at it. And he went, I'm a Carlisle fan. I give you nothing. No sympathy at all. I support Carlisle.

25And I'm like, well, you don't fucking understand what it's like then, do you? To be the club, the attention that we've got, the eyes on us, what we have to deal with day to day. You don't have a fucking clue. You support Carlisle. There's no eyes on Carlisle. There's about 700 of you every game. Those are the eyes. Them eyes. There are 1 ,400 eyes watching Carlisle. There are 50 million Washington Spurs and maybe 2 million Tottenham. And what I mean by that, Rick, is 48 million haters Washington Tottenham.

58Didn't Carlisle nearly go out of the Football League that time? I don't know. I don't know what league they play in. No one knows. No one knows. I'm asking everybody. Don't Google it. Whoever's listening to this, you message me and tell me what league Carlisle is in. and if you can if you can accurately tell me where they are then I'll call you a liar and I don't want to hear your opinion I don't know what league they're in I said league two I want to say league two I think it's league two alright but what I want to say weren't Carlisle the team that had to they either had to draw or win to stay up and it's like the 90 something minute and then their goalkeeper was it Jimmy Glass or something came up and scored in the last last seconds and they stayed up?

45Was that his name? If you had, I remember Jimmy Glass. I thought that was Swindon, but it might be, it might have been Carlisle. You tell me what division Carlisle are in, if you had to guess right now. League two. Incorrect. See? What, are they League one? No. They're not even in the football league? No. Oh, right. Okay, that makes sense. They're in the conference or the national league. Right. what position might they be Rick this is the point no one fucking knows you don't understand this is what I'm saying like I know you're a big club you deserve this some people they've got a capacity of 17 ,000 17 ,000 what Carlisle yeah in the National League fucking hell our pyramid is sensational isn't it yeah that is a bit tasty isn't it 17 ,000 no it's 18 ,000 17 ,949 fuck me unreal isn't it what a sport but what my point is is that what people don't understand is that they're given they're given we're getting grief because we're Spurs do you know why we're getting grief and why everyone wants to see it happen because we're fucking massive that's why yeah despite this despite the situation we find ourselves in we don't become smaller because of this we might become smaller because of relegation who knows but so like my I've got like my my own tin hat theory if we got rid of Tudor right and we did employ so let's just say Redknapp I think the media spin of having Redknapp and there'll be a lot more commentators and people wanting to see Redknapp do well and save Tottenham.

21Yeah, it'll change the narrative. Exactly. So that's why I feel like, do you know what I feel like, right? I feel like that we're going to lose to Liverpool. I think Tudor will probably be sacked. and I think they know this and they've already or they're trying to line up someone to come in and give us that new manager bounce that Tudor was supposed to give us but hasn't and I think the reason why they haven't done it now is because we never go up to Anfield and win or get a result so we're expected to lose and what is the point of putting a new manager in going up there and starting off on the bad front so we'll wait until Liverpool and then we'll say look that's five games we've lost you cannot you know nothing's happened we'll take him out we'll put someone in that is familiar with the club that maybe the media darlings can get behind rednapple whoever it might be and hopefully that we just have enough luck and rubber the green on our side this is what i'm just kind of i'm trying to project and i'm just trying to you know when you try and reason like that it's you know you're doing mental gymnastics and at the moment i'm like right we're gonna lose to liverpool we're expected to lose to liverpool played arsenal expected to lose to arsenal right so that's like the six points that we knew we weren't going to get fulham maybe we're supposed to get a draw out of that that's what i expected so we lost one point there and then we lost the palace so in reality even though we've lost like these five games or whatever then i I think it's four points that we've potentially lost.

01That's the mental, mental gymnastics I'm making. So I'm just hoping that. That would make sense. If that, if that's what the plan is, if, if, if it was to bring in someone like Redknapp after Liverpool, because you like, you say it's like a sacrificial lamb. Yeah. Which is coincidentally that my brother's Ross, Ross, my brother's, um, what, what he's sort of Monica would have been if he was a boxer. if he was a boxer if he turned pro if he turned pro at like 28 if he called Ross the sacrificial lamb Flavreau anyway it always makes me laugh yeah but it would be like throwing lambs at us a lot wouldn't it yeah you know we're not gonna we don't have a centre-back pairing we'll have we'll go into this on the preview tomorrow for the Liverpool game but we we don't we don't have a defence Romero's not there Van Venn's not there Danzo Dragassen and Porro probably in a back three.

01Like, it's just... I don't even know if Dragos... Did he make the squad against Aflético? I remember seeing him injured. Was he included? I can't even remember. Oh, yeah. I don't think he's included. Right, okay. So he might be back there. He might be available, but... Who cares? No, that's the wrong attitude. That's the wrong attitude. That's what I'm talking about. Oh, okay. The dismissive nature of a professional footballer who plays at Spurs is part of the problem while we're in this situation. So I do care and I hope he's fit and I hope he does. No, it's the context of like we've got Liverpool away, we're at Anfield, big atmosphere, and we've got Danso and Drogerson as the centre-backs.

36It's going to be tough, to say the least. Indeed, mate, indeed. Now is the time to remind you that the fighting cock is backed by NordVPN. You can protect your privacy and data online. You can stay safe in a public Wi-Fi. You've got fast speeds for streaming and browsing when you're being tethered by other people or other groups in your area. The way tethering works is an ISP will promise you a certain speed, but they promise that same speed to everybody in your area. And then tether it depending on the usage. And given the fact that everything we do in our houses now is done through broadband and through the internet, it would mean that you're probably getting tethered, but not when you have NordVPN.

23They've got thousands of servers worldwide. It works on all your devices. You get 10 devices you can attach to on one sign-up. So, and as always, the key takeaway for me, was a lifesaver for me, was you can protect your kids, but you don't have to protect yourself. NordVPN will get round for NordLogs. Yeah, boy. So click the link in the description below and support the Fighting Court podcast. Legends. uh rick did you see this um you know i know you saw this video because um we talked about it yesterday and i was i was quite animated about it so there's a tiktok by a guy in america who um as i think he thinks he solved the injury problems at tottenham mozburg uh yes yes yes yes yes and it's all down to the retractable pitch the theory which has resulted in acl injuries all over the shop and um the reason perhaps for the crisis the injury crisis that's been spanning three years at Tottenham and I think a lot of people have latched onto this idea that the retractable pitch is the issue I don't know if it's the issue Rick I have no idea right I don't know the science behind it I don't know what retractable pitches mean in comparison to normal pitches with I'd imagine more terra firma beneath the the beneath the grass or the pitch yeah but what i do know is if people listen to the lab and subscribe to the lab lab if you don't know is our sister podcast where we produce interviews with interesting people that are a different tone maybe a more sort of serene and highbrow i'd like to say tone or that compared to this podcast that you're on regularly um the uh and uh that there was a gentleman called michael green who is a physiotherapist and recovery specialist who works in professional football and has worked for the fa at uh saint george's park and i asked him the question about the retractable pitch and he while without you know he's never going to sort of dismiss it as completely outrageous he said he doesn't think it's the the pitch and it's much more likely to be training methods load on players stress sleep patterns you know training methods all these things have a direct impact on the way players are affected and their and how their bodies react to it but this this video has really taken this just sort of caught fire and it's a bloke who's just come up with his theory that kind of taps into the fears we have and that's it like he's come up with something like you said I was looking at Real Madrid and they've had seven ACLs and yeah it was the comparison between Real Madrid and Tottenham they both have retractable pitches and they both got bad injuries we played on that pitch for four years before the injury crisis started.

31We moved into the stadium in 2019. The injury crisis started in 2023. So that four years on the retractable pitch before didn't just seemingly doesn't count because mate your boy has found a link between Real Madrid and Tottenham. And people have bought into it massively. It's gone viral this video. Has it? Yeah because people need an answer. Even if it's the wrong one they need an answer. Yeah. I mean, I listened to that lab episode. I literally heard the words coming out from that guy's mouth. I looked at the video and I was like, yeah, maybe it's a retractable pitch. Because that's what we want.

13We want an answer for it, but it may not be the answer. There might be, do you not think like the medical, the medical team might be a problem? Yeah. One of the things I've just mentioned about stress on players and situations, the fact we've been nearly relegated in two divisions. I say two separate seasons where while we weren't going to be relegated last season, we were just 17th. Like all these things add to it. The playing style one. Our medical department got sacked as well. Yeah, there's tons of really logical reasons to suggest why there may be an issue. But everyone's obsessed by this retractable pitch.

48And I'm not saying you shouldn't consider it. I'm just saying also consider all the fucking things that we know are a fact. I don't know. Just one thing up. Yeah, retractable pitch is more of a sexy story though, isn't it? It's also one that can't be fixed. Surely they can make it a little bit more deep, I know? The grass? When you say surely, that suggests you might know something about retractable pitches, Ricky. Yeah, I do, actually. Fuck, I didn't know. No one told me that before making a point. I've got no fucking idea. No idea. I understand why it's an attractive idea. And it may be that it's true.

31And having spoken to a professional who works in injuries and rehabilitation, maybe I'm the fool for listening to him. No, no. Yeah, I'd much rather listen to him. Yeah. Shot clocks, big shots, upsets, aces, TGL playoffs are here. First, Atlanta Drive starts their repeat run against Los Angeles Golf Club. Then, Rory's Boston Common Golf and Tiger's Jupiter Lynx face off in their playoff debuts. Who will advance? Keep up. It's playoffs. 38:53We'd say that's a pretty good deal. Shop Mighty Patch at all major retailers. Um, where are we? This is a good podcast. I've lost my... Oh, Gary Bradley says, who on earth is this Nick Boucher guy? Can we break down on who on earth this guy is? he's the guy calling the shots to get frank sacks and get the new managing to help us stay up on what basis does this guy who is bucking joe lewis's granddaughter get to call the shots at my club is he english american i need to know more how old is he what's his background i swear to god this club is making me absolutely fucking mental um so i'm gonna read you some stuff and without actually pretending to know what I'm talking about.

49And this is what I found. So Nick Boucher is a relatively unknown but increasingly influential figure at Tottenham Hotspur, mainly because of his connection to the club's ownership family. He's a son-in-law to Vivian Lewis, daughter of Billionaire Jolis, as we know. This makes him effectively part of the Lewis family ownership group that controls Spurs through the Tavistock investment empire. he's a senior executive so co-ceo at the tavistock groups which is the organization the company that owns tottenham along with many other investments and uh in this role he operates mainly on the business and investment side rather than football operations he does not officially sit on the club's board he has become an importantly intermediary uh between the lewis family and the club's ownership.

41He acts as a direct link between ownership and Tottenham's executives. His views reportedly carry weight in major decisions according to websites. Some of these websites are disputable. So you don't know if this is true and probably the nuances to his position at Spurs are difficult to pin down. Some reports describe him as becoming the main contact between the Lewis family and Tottenham's managerial structure or management structure that would be Langer and Peggy Tessian and obviously we started to hear his name who given the fact that he stayed largely behind the scenes for years his name started appearing more often because the ownership family has taken a more visible role in the decision making as we know there's been a leadership change and intimately at Spurs meaning that the Lewis family representative are more involved which is all we all know the big worry here is what we've spoken about many many times is it's making football decisions there's report that there was a call after a meeting after the Newcastle game where Benkatesh from Langer was saying we need to stick with Frank and Vivian Lewis and um Nick Boucher were saying we need to sack him we don't know again that that is true but this has just been what's been reported and and like I said many many times that's a worrying situation to be in when he's making or they're making footballing decisions when people they've employed or previous incumbents like david daniel levy have employed to make these footballing decisions yeah i mean for me right i'm willing to park this conversation at the end of the season yeah with nick uh what's his involvement um and any of that stuff because at the end of the day where frank was managing us and we would continue to lose things weren't improving we'd heard behind the scenes that people think frank's a nice guy but he's you know it's reported that one of the players saying that they they prepare like a small team where we're more worried about the opposition and not worried, not focusing on how we're going to play.

02A lot of mention about Arsenal and how good they are and that we need to be like that, and the players didn't really take kindly to that. So we would have gone down this road. We would have been where we are now. There was no way Frank would have turned that boat around or what did he call it? Super cruiser or something, cruiser tank. A super tanker, yeah. super tanker uh there is no way he would have turned it around we would be in exactly the same place now we've given him the boot and we've expected uh tudor to come in now i think and again end of the season we'll start fucking having the uh what would you call it um fuck i forgot the name um post-mortem about who employed tudor and why he was came why he came in and why we thought he was the best person for the role but we are on the verge of being relegated and it doesn't matter about you know saving face of oh i might as well stick to frank to the end of the season because he could have turned it around and we thought he was the right guy, and da-da-da-da-da.

19We're constantly losing. All the trends are going downwards. Tudor, let's just fucking swallow a bit of pride here, man. He's not getting the best out of the players. The players don't like him. They don't like this disciplinarian. It's just not working. With five games, six games, he isn't getting a tune out of those players. we need to get rid of him get someone in that knows the club and we'll start getting putting a bit of confidence back in the put an arm around the boys give one of them a fucking handy whatever it takes i don't fucking care just win a few games ensure we don't get relegated we'll sigh you know a collective sigh of relief we're all gone holiday forget this whole mess ever happened clear the decks and then we'll be kind of everyone gets invited to the boardroom even the fans everyone um yeah i'm just kind of like i i know this nick bosher or whatever his name is making the fucking decisions and people are like he shouldn't be anywhere near the club and he shouldn't be or he shouldn't be that influential or being able to make those decisions with the experience on that he has fine but let's just fucking get this next few months over and done with man do you know who knows a way around the club um no i was trying to think of a clever answer not my mum uh god whose mum um whose mum knows their way around a club cow's mum does that's not what I'm thinking oh god I don't know actually you've got no inkling whose mum might know her way around the club no no no no I don't interesting if you already said club foot because they've got a weird kink I would have said my mum ah but the answer was your mum yeah I knew what you were doing you sneaky little rat you.

36I'm not just, you know, trying to add a little bit of sort of levity to the situation we find ourselves at the expense of your mum, Rick. Apologies. That's all right. And finally, Sheldon says, you get to meet the guy who made a deal with the devil because of him we won the Europa League but we now have to suffer this season. Do you kiss him or do you hit him, Rick?

05would you would you if someone said you you could win the Europa League this season but you're going to get relegated next scene would you have taken it before Bilbao um fuck because uh the European trophy uh winning on foreign soil Bilbao against United all of that stuff it's just it's just too good not to fucking taste that it's just too good but then the you know relegation i don't it's that's that's really heavy and you just don't know how long the relegation is going to last for what i will say though is my dad sent me a message as he usually does on facebook so he sent me a message on facebook even though we're on whatsapp but sent me a message on facebook in the dms uh you might never see that he's got I know you may never see that.

04And he sent me a video and it was us winning Europa League. And it was, you know, the usual super cuts with the music and very emotional and stuff like that. And I said, that's all well and good, but we're going to get relegated this season, Dad. And he sent me a message back saying, we might get relegated, but I got to witness Tottenham win a European trophy with my son in Bilbao and I was just like let's get relegated boy let's get relegated that's it because it's all about moments it's all about those glory moments like we could get relegated in 20 years it will be a footnote right it'll be nothing it'll be that do you remember that that was terrible when it how can this club the size of Spurs get relegated and then eventually you get back up because the financial advantages of being in the championship just give you such an advantage yeah get the right manager the right mentality the right the players to buy in even if they're nowhere near as good of on paper as the squad we got now they will get back up yeah right but what we won't have if we hadn't done it was that moment in bel bel and remembering that we were all starved of that yeah we were starved of that moment where Sonny lifted that trophy.

22And to this day, I'm still in this moment of haze where we actually did it. We did it against Manchester United, no less. Yes. Yes. We did it. And Sonny lifting it up. I broke down when I saw that. It was a surreal, incredible moment that I will remember for the rest of my life. And I will no doubt remember the relegation for the rest of my life. In fact, actually, you know what? I was speaking to my dad the other day and I said, we got relegated in 77 and my dad had been following Spurs by that point, 18 years. So his first season was 61. So what's that? 16 years. And I was like, what was it like in the championship?

05And he went, I don't, I don't really remember. And I was like, all right, cheers dad. Cause I thought I could, based on what he says, I could use this on a podcast. Like give some sort of, give some sort of, maybe I can get him on to talk about it. What, you know, what it was like in the championship and, or the, what was the second division then? And he was like, I don't really remember it. I said, do you remember the 84, the, the UEFA cup win in 84? And he went, yeah, I remember that. I was there. We were packed in like sardines. We were singing, um, Danny Thomas. There's it. There was who, who missed the penalty?

43Yeah, isn't it? It's Danny Thomas. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. Danny Thomas missed the penalty and he goes I remember it echoing around YR lane you couldn't hear yourself think for the support behind this player one Danny Thomas and he was talking about an archie board and he said it was just incredible 74 the same he goes winning you know watching Jimmy Grease play he could tell me all day about those moments I asked him about the relegation he goes I don't really remember it yeah so we had the moment so yes i would kiss i would definitely kiss the man who sold his soul or our souls for uh we've got a big win we've got this uh family it's been put on dvd now uh it's just like kind of a lot of early footage from my family uh my uncle used to um have a cine film it's like one of those silent kind of videos that you take and you put back in track eight millimeter something like that so it's all of us when like my um my dad was young and mom and you know when we were kids and stuff like that and there is probably 30 second footage of my uncle and my dad shagging in the can you imagine that

12that'd be well funny go down on VHS you know like in Fight Club it's the flicker it comes up you're like did I see that like dad is that you excuse me side eye sorry my dad and uncle in the terraces at White Hart Lane when we were in division two I think we were playing against Bolton or something like that which is fucking mental that that will never exist anywhere absolutely anywhere um i'll have to dig that out actually no i'd love to see it yeah yeah that'd be fucking mental but but yeah yeah it's like they those moments you know the culturally significant in terms of the history of our football club it shouldn't be this way but you know it's all part of the journey in it yeah one way or another let's get behind the boys yeah let's go get behind the fucking boys not Liverpool no but after that don't bother getting behind the boys at Liverpool I'm only joking alright Ricky you're a legend mate thank you so much for doing this on a Friday what is now an evening thanks everyone on Patreon for sending in the questions again if you want to become a Patreon if you're still with us at this stage and you're not a Patreon then it's fine I completely understand it but if you want to or in any way sign up then it's patreon.com forward slash fighting cock love you rick love you too man bye bye Cock Cock
