In short

Tottenham Hotspur’s relegation battle and a gritty 1-0 win away at Wolves, plus broader talk on football fandom, bad luck/injuries, and goalkeeper/forward selection.

Guests

Alex, Sean, and “Flav” (appears as a co-host/regular). They’re Spurs supporters who discuss matches from the stands and via WhatsApp groups; one guest also mentions family members attending games and a brother with football/medical insight.

Key claims

The win “gets you out of there” despite poor, non-spectacle football; Wolves were hard to break down with a low block. The team’s season feels “preordained” with injuries and bad breaks (multiple ACL concerns, missed penalties/VAR frustration, opponents’ results going their way). Antonin Kinski should stay starting; they argue Vicario shouldn’t return because Kinski has better recent reliability and big-save impact. Pedro Porro is criticized as an easy target despite high availability.

Notable examples

Wolves equalizing then Spurs holding on; Wolves’ home record (beating Liverpool, drawing Arsenal). Injuries to players including Matis Tell and mention of possible ACLs; comparisons to past goalkeeper crises (Carrius). Fans’ entitlement at Molineux and away-fan placement.

It's a fighting Cock Oh come on No We won a game of football See I knew we could do it I knew we could fucking do it Do it again More of that Stop fucking around Keep winning games What did I say to you last week Alex What did I say to you I said it in your face I said we're staying up You did.

56You did. And it was, like I said, it was a big relief last week because I was stressed. For some reason, I was pretty stressed for about an hour and 20 minutes yesterday as well. Yeah. Yeah. That felt nice, though, didn't it? That was nice. My afternoon and evening kind of felt different. Like it was, I didn't have this massive weight. Yeah. Sean, you was at the game. Yeah. Yeah. it was nice to just have that feeling of kind of bouncing out of the ground at the end. you know, you're singing as you way out, as you make your way out. And then you sort of like walk into the home fans and give it the absolute large.

38Did you give it some, Sean, put it on them until they outnumbered us greatly. And then I shut up. They're a funny bunch of well wolves fans, aren't they? Cause they, they, they have some proper proper visions of the club that they are like this historic and you know look they are historic but they are it's a obviously we live up here so obviously they're parking everywhere around here really and it's just they just have this weird entitlement it is bizarre it really is bizarre I mean I need to let it they need to let it go like that was the 50s it's not like the 60s like you know we were the top boys in the 60s.

21That's relevant. We've always got one decade more relevance even now. That's the one. We were renovating football then in the 50s, push and run, half a row. But, you know, you've got to feel sorry for them because what have they got? What have they got? People from Wolverhampton. Like Wolverhampton, I've got to say, and I'm not, you know, I think 80 % of the cities in this country are absolute shitholes, right? That's how I feel. Even the one I come from, right? Wolverhampton's the worst. It's the pits. Imagine having to walk back and going, not only are my team relegated, I live in Wolverhampton as well.

00So you can understand they need to get something. You're going to tell me you live in Wolverhampton, aren't you, Alex? No, I live about 20 minutes west of it. And there is some, if you think Wolverhampton's a shithole, stop in a couple of the little kind of, towns around Wolverhampton, then you'll see some proper shit. I will concede that the place was devastated during the war but also after Thatcher's government as well. I know it's not their fault, but they do have to live there. Have you ever been to Preston? Oh my god. It's like 40 to 80 years ago now. Come on. Let's get over it, shall we?

39Just get over it. Sorry. yeah we won a game of football um it wasn't a gutter because everton had just equalized we score and you're like four minutes that lasted yes that that was a little kick in the stomach a little bit um but i don't care we needed that win so badly i found that molyneux was like the worst stadium for signal as well i just from the moment i got there till the moment i left was just complete lockdown so you were just picking everything up from other people in the ground and that so that bit where it filtered through that West Ham or that Everton had equalized in the away end we're all jumping up and down and then you just got this horrible little sound to the left of you of all these Wolves fans who all of a sudden have got a dog in the fight and they're really happy and they're all chanting no no no no no and you're looking behind us and And it was like right behind me was the window of the corporate suite or whatever's in there.

45And they're all giving it like the irons. And it's just like, shut up. You know what went viral was like the Lincoln fans singing Tottenham away on the hill. Wolves were singing that all day yesterday. It's just like. I kind of admire it. As zero second as it would have been to experience, I do kind of admire it, you know, you do that. I remember Villa, I think it's Newcastle, when Newcastle got relegated against Villa and they were just like, they were nothing, no rivalry. There's nothing to link those two clubs at all. And the Villa fans were like, this is the best. We'll look at them. There's something really, really weird about football, isn't there?

28Where you just want to, you want to, you revel in the misery of your fellow, you know, fans of the sport or worse your friends right i've spoken about this on another podcast but there's a whatsapp group and it's horrible we don't talk to each other until someone's team loses and then it's like look at you and then the next thing there's nothing for about a week i always just find it funny like when teams get really invested in other teams like relegation battles like for example like if we're playing when we play everton last game of the season let's say that like we say that West Ham are losing and we need to win to stay up but we're drawing 1-1 in the 90th minute Everton who will have nothing to play for and should just be trying to play nice football you can maybe not nick the ball off them we'll be taking the ball to the corner and it's just like just play football but they'll be completely invested in that game as if it was them and yeah i enjoy it because i think we do it because it's like most people have gone through this shit well everyone has to a degree like where it is shit and you're just you're the butt of all jokes and maybe us more than more than most so when it's happening to other people like i want bad things to happen to other premier league like is there another premier league side where you watch and go i hope they do all right no really no i want bad things happen to all of them.

59Yeah, yeah, yeah. But then in the lower leagues, I'm like, yeah, go on, can't wait, can't wait for them to come up. And then as soon as they're up there, I'm like, you know, a bit chippy, aren't they, for just coming up? Like Wolves, when Wolves did have Nuno, like, I really liked them when they were, they were in the championship and they were playing like this free flowing football. And then now they're here and you're just used to them and sick of them. It's just like, get out of it. And then we're potentially going with them. Oh, no, no, none of that. We're up. We're up. Just buy your season ticket for next season already.

33And in that, yesterday, the fact that they were like that, yesterday was difficult and I wasn't enamoured with how we played. And I think I said about 60, 65 minutes in the group, I was a bit like, do you know what's scary about this? It looks like two championship teams and that is what was really scaring me, particularly after how well we performed last week. But Wolves did have a huge... This is why I don't, a lot of the WhatsApp group during games, because you have to listen to shit like that. Do you think? Because you can't... Alex has an opinion that 60 to 70 minutes is going to make everyone feel worse than they feel already.

07Yeah, can't wait to read that. As long as Alex has opinion. Let me tell everybody that we look like a champion inside. When we are struggling, we're holding on by... You do this for a living! Yeah, this is an appointment of you. You listen if you want to, you don't if you don't. WhatsApp groups are there all the time. You, Alex, are a fucking miserable bastard. No. No, Flav. What it is, is that over the last five years, you've turned into some massive... You can't handle anything. You just have to exit stage left for any type of discussion that makes you feel any other way other than high as a fucking kite, which I appreciate, but I am not changing the whole social dynamic of life for you.

49I'm not asking you to change. That's why I don't ask you to change. That's why I don't read it. Yes, you do all the time. What do you mean? You say it all the time. Ow, why are you saying this? You've always been like this for years. You're ruining people's experience watching football. It's not. Anyway, it goes both ways. I'm not having this argument again. I'm so sick of it. The last thing I would want to hear is, we look like champions. At 67 minutes, I'm holding on by my fingernails here, Alex. Yeah, it wasn't just me popping this into the group, by the way. This was part of a conversation that was happening in the group at the time.

23Anyway, what I was about to do was to give us some credit it because I felt that they were very, very kind of two banks and they said it was difficult and creativity is an issue for us this season. They've obviously looked at that and gone, well, how do we stop that? And they just did because one, we're not very good at it and two, it was obviously clearly part of the game plan. And so as much as I was getting frustrated throughout the game because obviously it's just so important on reflection really actually we probably did all right because we kept their chances to relative minimum staff and we tried to do what we could do at an away ground that we don't have a huge amount of um success great history at and we haven't won yeah all year um so yeah on reflect on reflection i was i was disappointed and by saying that at 67 minutes i was you know maybe it was a bit more frustration but it worried me that there wasn't i thought we'd be a bit more camped a little bit on the outside of their box than we were we were asked to do something quite complex i think when when they're sitting back in the way that they did it with very little training and i'm not even with you know months and months of training with postocoglu we found difficult to break down a low block no but i mean like i would have i expected us to and it's frustrating when it happens previously but i think for now we need it to a degree i was expecting a a lot more kind of recycling the possession around the outside of the box.

50And it still did seem a bit wayward in terms of the passing. And I think, you know, Pentacle and Bersuma is only their second game kind of back in and together. So hopefully that will continue to improve. So what I mean, whilst I was very underwhelmed at the performance, on reflection, I feel better about it because that was a tough game. There's a lot of pressure on that. Got to go. Yeah. You got it done. Can I tell you something? Wolves are unbeaten. Three of their last three games at home. I mean, they have been absolutely slapped all over the place away. But still, win. They beat Arsenal. No, they drew with Arsenal.

33They beat Liverpool at home. And they beat another big team. Villa at home 2-0. They did. Winning there is not for everybody. Sean, what did you make of it overall? What was your feeling to the performance? Alex thought it looked like a championship side. what did you think? Yeah, I mean it wasn't a spectacle for Premier League football. It was pretty bad. But it is just one of those ones. You're looking at it, regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season, this team is going to get ripped to pieces over the summer in one way or another. So in terms of it building and it looking pretty, I don't give a damn.

16It was like, we got the result and that's all that matters. So you get out of there with a win. Villa next week. Just somehow we just got to like get another one. You know, you could, again, I've got WhatsApp groups that are all sort of talking about, oh, in reality, Villa just need one more win to secure Champions League and they'll see us as like, let's slap them up and then we can concentrate on Europa and whatever. but you don't have to play well to win. We could get two scrappy goals next week, like Palinja's won yesterday, and hold on. And it's just what happens this time of the season when it only takes Villa to just take one eye off the ball, look a little bit at that Europa League, doesn't have to be like completely concede games like we were doing last year, but that little bit of percentage drops off.

14we're wanting it we've now got a win under our belt there's nothing to say that we can't nick one next week and that's just what you got to do and it's not about creating and looking sexy football and all that it's just win just buy hook or buy crew i think someone i saw someone say something in the week but you know in a title race obviously with the whole thing that's going on with the scum and city at the minute like you drop points and then it's like everyone's like whichever way it would have gone between City and Scum last week, like, oh, well, that's it then, that's fucked, because they're going to win every game.

47Like, that doesn't happen in this down here. It feels like it the minute against us, like every cunt's winning games that win when we're not. But that won't continue to happen. Like, people, you know, there's every possibility, but, you know, Forrest are on 39, West Ham are on 36, Spurs are on 34. There's every chance that those points could be exactly the same in two weeks' time, because these are poor teams. so next week is the one for me all three teams are away Forest have Chelsea away and Chelsea will hopefully have a bit of a bounce you know what they're like fucking arikes fuck every time there's a new manager come in and West Ham have got Brentford away which is a difficult game so if we can get some out against Villa next week could look a really different situation with us then going into the next game at home against Leeds yeah so my mum fucking kept calling me and distracting me so I didn't hear anything like that.

39She rung me four times. What are you doing? If I don't pick up once, then obviously I'm busy. We're going back twice and then she better be in trouble. Four times, Alex. What, in the space of what? Five minutes? During your, so I've got to clear her, I'm texting her again, don't ring back, I'm recording. And then you come out and then I'm hearing a little bit of her and you say, I can call back again and again. I mean, I'd ring her back if it was four times in like two minutes. What's the matter? just put her on we all know let me just check just in case I mean I'd be yeah it's made me worried now if you hear tears I'm just going to cut this short alright

23can you hear this yeah yeah

29hello what's the emergency mum a few times and he does that sorry I rang you but I thought you were maybe Are you working? Yes, I'm working, mum, but you called back. Again. Okay. Because I made a mistake. Yes, you have made a mistake. Right, I'll call you back. Okay, mum? No, I love you. Love you, bye. Gives me anxiety the way you torture your mum. Four times! It's like that scene at a peep show with Jeremy. It's like, Jeremy, can you stop? It's giving me an aneurysm. no she knows I'm joking good she's not dead right where were we the run in I'll say next week if we can get something against Villa with the teams that the other two are playing if we can get something it's quite you know it's a tricky fixtures for the other two all three clubs are away and then we go in that means we go into next week against Leeds so if we can get a draw against Villa and we beat Leeds we'll need one more result and then I think we'll be alright I think it's a 41, 42 point to be safe, which is why Boris is still not safe yet.

41I don't want to put this in people's minds, right? But I am going to because it's in mine. Wouldn't it be proper Tottenham if we amassed the most amount of points before going down? Can I just highlight the fact that he's just had a massive go at me for putting something in a group, and he's just come and done that to however many thousands of listeners that didn't have. He won't see the same in that. He'll just think that's content. That's content. I get paid to do this. That's what he's thinking. But yeah, anyone does this, one of his friends in his close friendship group mentions something that is concerning him and it's lambasted.

17Not during the game. Not during the game. Any other time, not during the game. But yes, you're right. It would be like a 44-point season. 44 points if we go down. So Spurs. That is so Spurs. It's well weird the way they put the away fans in the Molineux as well. It's the worst away day of the season. Yeah. I've done it I've done it once and it's like it's the lower it's like the old West End that we've got it's almost that's what we used to have it's identical to that isn't it it's the same same architect and so you're just in this sort of narrow band of like 16 people and it just runs the whole length of the thing it's very odd yeah it is a strange one yeah we were sort of like quite near the halfway line so as far as away goes it was quite a good view of to watch the whole game that was the only thing I'd say but yeah it's a strange one let's talk about Antonin Kinski his rise from the debacle in Madrid to and I'm not saying he he was world-class but he came in clutch right at the end he saved the game he's consistently good with the with his feet I don't I genuinely don't see a route back in for Vicario I really don't I don't want him back or anywhere near the team to be honest but that's probably more about his performance and less about Kinski, but I think he's class Kinski.

37I just think he's... I don't know if he should be our number one, but he solves a lot of problems that Vicario creates in that we can rely on him when he's passing out from the back. His shot stopping has been fine. He's come up with two or three big saves in the last three games, and that save from the free kick at the end, to clatter into the post in the way that he did, you know, he didn't give a shit about his own personal health and safety, which is a great save. And I just feel like he needs his flowers given what he's come through and the mental strain that that would have taken. I genuinely thought that's the last we'd ever see of him in that 15 minutes coming off, walking off at Madrid.

16I don't think he would recover from that. Carrius never recovered from that, has he? That save he made yesterday was more or less like the one, the Sobberslaer one that Vicario let in at Anfield. He's... More difficult. Yeah. he's got all the ability in the world, Kinski but just judging him on what we've seen though when he came in against Tamworth and looked really good and then he played against Liverpool and he was good but then he just falls off a cliff he kind of it's something that he's displayed that he's got in his locker is the ability for his confidence and luck and everything to just completely crash down to zero to the degree that you have to take him off.

04And that's just something that can happen to any goalkeeper, but because of the nature of it, those complete crisis moments are what take him out. And as long as he doesn't have another one of those, then there isn't another route for Vicario back into it. But he has done it a few times now. so that would be the door for Vicario would be that he just have a moment where he has a complete head loss but this moment in time let's say he showed excellent strength of mind to come in and look the way that he's looked he's been confident on the ball making saves so hopefully that will be it for four more games and he's been way better than Vicario in every aspect So, yeah, hopefully there's no route back in for Vacario.

00Deserby kind of sounded like there was a route in for him.

I just hope not because I think it would be a mistake. Yeah. Do you agree with that, Al? Yeah. I mean, Kinski will have more moments of, you know, of poor form or having a bit of a clang or whatever. You know, how old is he? 21. Like he's, you know, that's going to happen, right? So that's something you almost have to kind of put out your mind. If it's happening every week, obviously, that's a bit different. I think he does deserve a huge amount of credit, you know, and I didn't think it was going to be the last time that we'd ever see him because I'm just like, well, it's very rare that that happens.

02I know Karius made those mistakes in the Champions League final, but he still went on and played other places. Like, you know, it was on reflection of that night, he made one massive error, slipped. Like, it was, and I still stand by the fact it was the right decision to take him off. I don't get what other people were saying about you can't do it. Like, no. No, anything that happened after that third goal, it just makes the hill that he's got to climb afterwards even bigger. So I think he made the right, I think it was the right call. But it was also so, and calamity isn't the right word, because I actually think probably only one of them was really his massive, massive fault, maybe two.

44Well, the second one wasn't the, I mean, just that he slipped over, it was unlucky. Yeah, he slipped. like you've and we've seen that picture a thousand times people slip in all the time like so regardless of what you think about but but it was almost so so much of a story and people like peter schumacher are reach out to him just kind of separately and you know the goalkeepers you know fuck off like this kid is just 21 but he's also still an elite athlete he's had to come over lots of challenges i'm sure to get to a position of being at a club like tottenham hotspot so he's you know i didn't have any doubts that he would he would come back to a degree whether it was with us or with someone else I don't I don't know um the Vicario Vicario I just feel like just if anything we've got at the minute any type of momentum with the team almost picking itself yesterday I would probably say apart from Mawani who I don't understand I was so excited about Mawani and I just do not understand um what um but what I'm saying is is that taking taking Kinski out.

46It just disrupts or risks disrupting any momentum or rolling stone stuff that we've got at the minute. Just keep it the same if it's alright. This is a tweet from an ex-Spurs player. Kinski has just saved Tottenham from relegation. I do not want to see the poison Vicario ever again. Is that Ramon Vega? of course it is even when he is fit this is Kinski's team so weird you say that right no it isn't it was a joke I was going to do I was going to say it to someone like Moussa Dembele to confuse you but it wasn't it was invert the wing right who is you know a bit of a parody account but very popular I thought I could say who can I say would say this tweet and in my head I went Raman Vega would definitely tweet this and then you said that what did you call Tottenham just a minute ago Alex Tottenham Hotspur I thought it did actually you said Tottenham Hotspur yeah I had a tickle in my throat I was trying to get away with it but yet again another thing you just highlight for absolutely Tottenham Hotspur Jesus it sounded like a bully in here Flo this is constantly what it is give him a bit back though Sean watch him watch him watch him have an absolute meltdown that's when he'll be calling his fucking mum Alex I love you I'm so sorry I can't let that go I mean I could have you heard it Sean you fucking heard it we all heard it everyone panders to him Sean right because how many times has he gone oh yeah yeah Pochettino when he's met Poster Coglu or Poster Coglu when he's met Pochettino and I swear to God he's got that picture of Poster Coglu up behind there just to piss me off so every time I record I got that fat face looking at me the whole time no I had to take the other ones away they went to my home so I had to put something up there that's all I had so yeah but no I like I said I just don't think you disturb any momentum any momentum at all within that team apart from taking Ruani out and probably putting Tell in but then what do we do now because fucking no Simmons like let's that look bad yeah I mean there are some other positives to the game but we can talk about it because that was it just you know what it looks like you know what it looks like Physiologist going just do you want to have a run do you want to run up and down the side well do you remember so I remembered Gascoigne so I remember Gascoigne as him hitting Gary Charles in 91 and immediately going down and then being stretched off that isn't what happened that's how I remembered it but this isn't he got up and he tried to run and then broke down and then when he did that that's what it reminded me of I mean I don't know let's not speculate but if you had your best guess given our recent track record you would assume it's something to do with his knee ligament.

28Does Zerbi said afterwards about that he I'm not sure he seemed to have felt better afterwards but that's something that's quite common isn't it with ACLs where actually there is that initial feeling and then there is oh this isn't too bad and then it's actually even worse than you can possibly imagine yeah my brother my brother who's like done both of his acls texts me like during the game and he was like he's done his acl there by the way yeah really it was down the other end so i couldn't i had no idea it looked like pretty innocuous and then i was like he just twisted he was running at pace as soon as you go down like what the fuck is happening seriously if it is another acl that's two two three effectively we've had in the season in madison do you know across a season the average is 10 in the entirety of the premier league i i don't want to get into discussion now but i i just at what point does it stop becoming bad luck and something is like this this injury crisis has been going on for a long period of time and it could just be bad luck or it could be the fact that we have signed players and where we have not weighed up injury likelihood history, whatever, or there is something that fundamentally else going on and no one, no one will know that for sure.

49But I've just, and this is what I said last week. I just, I can't, I can't remember a time where everything feels like it just, nothing is falling for us. Like, feels like that for three years apart from bill bowler yeah and like yes and then to top it off yesterday like obviously i was relieved when we got the the when the full-time whistle went then when you see west evans ever the however and hit the bar in in that that chance they have hit the bar was fucking mental and then you see the penalty they should have had and i'm like what in the fuck is going on and then also yes that push on solanke i mean like we conceded two penalties because not been given two goals or lost one goal and not seen enough because of was it gomez double-footed basuma and that what did you think in in when i first saw it was like oh he's gone yeah i didn't actually see it because it was during my little five minute break where i was getting too stressed i had to just walk away so full disclosure and i'm really going to try and watch my tone here because i don't want to be accused of bullying alex right alex spent the game in the woods yeah yeah i did yeah i went camping on his own yeah it's the best you know i hate people so like in my family as well so i like to just um like go on my own but i had signal so i was kind of i was watching it on my on my phone but i was just it was too much i remember an arsenal spurs arsenal game do you remember edgar david's um there was like a challenge and joel went play play play and robbie keen scored yeah i remember leaving the house many times during that and walking around the block to just take up like four or five minutes and then go back in or watch it for five minutes also i live relatively close to highbury so you could hear the noise in in the air anyway i remember that sound i grew up playing football on high every fields every saturday morning did you really yeah so like just next to the playground that we we used to play there and it must have been saturday afternoon in fact because you you hear the Highbury rule.

53It was more of a smattering, but you could hear it. You could hear it, but this was in the days when you didn't have your phone and whatever, and you kind of know that they'd scored one or two. I remember when Wright got that record, and I remember hearing those cheers from Highbury Fields. Sean, where are you from? I know it's probably not podcasting time. Well, I lived in Enfield with my mum and dad, but then every weekend I was with my and granddaddy now is Linton. K-pop Demon Hunter's Saja Boys Breakfast Meal and Huntrix Meal have just dropped at McDonald's. They're calling this a battle for the fans.

30What do you say to that, Rumi? It's not a battle. So glad the Saja Boys could take breakfast and give our meal the rest of the day. It is an honor to share. No, it's our honor. It is our larger honor. No, really, stop. You can really feel the respect in this battle. Pick a meal to pick a side. And participate in McDonald's while supplies last.

49Paulina, right? We would be down without Paulinho, by the way. Yeah. I've been surprised he hasn't started the last couple of... Like, I just... Without his goals? Yeah, well, that too. Yeah, it's just... Yesterday, it was such a relegation dogfight goal as well. I loved it a bit. How offside did you think it was? Yeah, I was like, that's not in. I've screamed. I did a half scream and immediately shut myself down. I was like, it's offside, isn't it? And he was like, I don't know, I don't know. Inside the ground, did it look offside? which one um it was one of those ones where you were kind of like definitely going to wait for the var but yeah definitely not i was i was rattling the glass of the corporate box behind me and uh giving it large because you're just like yeah you just do it and then if it gets turned away you just stay looking forward it's like when you square at someone and it's cut you up in the road and then you pull up and you're in the traffic light.

48Are you one of them when you're giving it to the away fans and then they score and you just stare right at it and you know exactly what's going on but you just don't give them any. Absolutely. I mean, I remember one of the biggest ones was the, it was Man City away. And you remember when like Bale scored that beautiful goal that went in the top right hand corner. We were right behind the goal by the segregation bit. And like, oh I was going ballistic at these City fans like that were right next to me like they would have hated me and then at the end obviously they won with that Balotelli goal and it was just like straight forward um we we had that I had the same same same thing at uh Man City at home though where this kid was just giving it I remember this was you there Alex yeah oh mate he was giving it It was when City had just got their money, and they went 1-0 up, and he just kept doing the foreskin gesture constantly, which is annoying enough, right?

51And bang out of order, for many reasons, societal reasons, not just football. But he was giving it, and giving it, and giving it. He was about 16, 15, 16 years old. And then we were ignoring him, because what do you do? You can't get into a fucking row. You look like a twat. like you just got to accept it right then we score one he's still giving it still giving it i don't remember the game one three three one bowed the foe they scored yeah and we saw three goals in about seven minutes uh in in the in the in the 80 minutes stage as well so it was like it was like 89 it was sorry it was like huddleston came on and changed that game didn't he And he was giving it.

35And then we scored a second, and he was still giving it. And I'm like, there's six minutes left. We're two one up. What are you giving it for? The third one shut him up. And my dad, he at the time, and so my brother, we've got like five brothers, right? But we are, there's lots of marriages and whatnot. So it's half brothers and stuff. So I had my dad and my half brother's dad, Rob, together, were trying to get this kid at 16. He rushed past me. I was like, Dad, where are you going? Like that. Two blokes. Dad needed a hip hop trying to get over the netting that separated us to beat the shit out of this kid.

11I was like, Dad, I appreciate you as annoying, but what would you have done if you got hold of him or smashed his fucking head in? Yeah. He should have looked forward, basically. I missed the away end being next to the South Stand. Yeah. I think we should stick them up in the gods like Newcastle do. Well... I remember a real classic one was when we was at Wembley, we played Arsenal. And we won 1-0, Harry Kane. And I was just like in a random spot where I was right next to the Arsenal fans. I was the one next to them. And while we were 1-0 up, I'd had a load of beers. And I was just, I wasn't even watching the game.

50I was just facing them. And I was going, you used to have Henri. You used to have Fiera. Look at you. Look at the state of you. Look at the state of you. I'm embarrassed. like shit rivals and like it honestly went on for so long and so long and do you remember if you remember right at the end of that game Lacazette got slipped in and it got slipped in basically one-on-one on a tight angle and I just shifted a few people in and then it went past the post and I shifted back out and I'm like come on in I always remember seeing them all going you're so lucky I'm like shut up Sean you always come across so well measured and together on these podcasts I didn't know you had a bit of this inside you oh yeah right nasty nasty one at the game let's not let's not put the away think about it I don't want the away fans back we'll put the away fans back next to the Southam when we're winning every week not when we're fucking getting it every week Matt's tails come off the off the bench for Mawani who was just ineffective just poor yeah strange some people can't do it in the Premier League and he can't there was one moment I thought I really thought that he couldn't do it and we both were really excited when he signed I think everyone was quite excited by it but I was really banging the Kohler Mawani drum for about a year or two I was like this kid is he is incredible he's not done you any favours at all I know I mean my all I would say is that you don't know about the gap between Europe and England until you see players struggle.

28And it's the physicality that he has a problem with in the Premier League. It's not that he... And the pace, which is often what gets a lot of these players. But some find a way to change their game or they bulk up all the way it might be. Mourinho is relying on what's worked at every stage of his career thus far. That match-up with Bassey against Fulham, where he just got made to look like a little boy constantly, that was when I was like, oh no, it doesn't matter how long he stays here. he isn't going to be able to cut it in the Premier League. Certainly not. Maybe for a team that plays differently to Spurs, he could play off the shoulder and try and get behind.

05He'd probably be useful in that respect. In some places, it's just, you know, it's not been a great environment, has it? You know, and some people just don't deal well with that type of stuff. I mean, Tell came on and did well. I thought Danso, again, was good. You know, that would have took of, you know, he would have been... I said some things yesterday. Nervous. You said some things. Nothing, right? nothing like that's make no not the way you said that makes me sound really bad things i just said all i did then was literally repeat what you had said you said two things and you raised your eyebrows i know what you mean i don't know what you're trying to do i meant that i was about about his look i don't think this now but during the game when he made a couple of mistakes or his past was a little bit wayward i was like i said so i showed some stuff no slurs or nothing just just about how his abilities as a footballer that i don't agree with it's you don't agree with his abilities as a footballer.

56That's what I said. I told you last week, you know, before, you know, after what happened, I was, I didn't want him to work ever again after last week. Yeah, yeah. But no, I thought, I thought he did all right on the whole. I thought Spence was, was okay. Was okay. Yeah, it was all right. But I know we've all given, we all were growing pretty sick of Benton Corp, but fuck, you know, I'd be worried about where we were, where we really, really would be if he hadn't have been back in these last few games. Again, it's what you just said. It's like the environment. Like Moani's environment isn't right for him.

30Bentancourt's environment with Thomas Frank wasn't right for him. And probably to some degree, Posta Coglu as well. Remember Conte before his ACL injury? He was our best player. Oh yeah, 100%. Do you know what? Bardi says this thing about players being able to roll in the mud, right? And us having a lack of them. You know, Richarlison is probably one of them, which is why I've been surprised where he hasn't been cited because I don't think Solanke's been great. I don't know who's going to have to now. but I also think Benton Kaur is a bit of a mud role I think he can roll his sleeves up and kind of get involved and wouldn't let the predicament of where we are in the league kind of over or him in terms of pressure which I think it has done to Van de Ven at times I think like that kind of just being down there and this whole thing has had some effect on him as I think it has on Porro a little bit as well and Vicario so I almost don't want to talk about Porro like yesterday Well, I still feel that Porro gets just pro-ratered hate more than he deserves.

29How do you feel, Sean, how do you feel about Pedro Porro's performance yesterday? He's just always the same. He's just a frustrating player who's, yeah, I don't know. I've never been a Pedro Porro fan. Yeah, but he plays so much. Honestly, I'm telling you, he plays so much. he's the one with the most availability. He plays every fucking game and we know that he has these... Well, it takes to make it his first player now. How is it? Just to be available. Yeah, but he has 10, 12, 15 games. Well, you've writ off Romero, just the fact that he wasn't. So it must go both ways. So 10, 12, 15 games where he's great, you know, and scoring these ridiculous goals or assists.

12No, there are very few fullbacks that can cross like him. He's playing too much football and then he struggles to kind of come back from that. But he's another one that if we lost Porro for three months, we'd be clambering for him to be back. I mean, I think he has one world-class attribute of an entire team without any world-class attributes, and that is his delivery of his right peg. I don't get it. He just gave the ball away consistently yesterday. I just don't get it. He has good games and bad games, and yesterday he was all right. There was some shit, there was some good. but like yeah I just I feel like it's he's an easy target because he's the only fucking one there every week so you're defending Pedro Porro yeah yeah down that hill 100 % fair enough um Slanky's injury as well looks like he probably won't play again this season fine like yeah he's struggling a little bit wasn't he yeah what was his injury because I haven't seen it back I just saw him sit down and it was like oh no probably double ACL I think double ACL it was muscular and compound fracture I think yeah no he didn't he touched he just went down didn't he yeah it was the same with the Chavi one like because as I say we saw him he looked like he tried to cross the ball missed it and whatever and next thing he sat down and they're bringing the stretch over and my other brother who was at the game with me and other people around us were just berating him like look at that fanny this is like you know he's just too weak he doesn't want it and then that's when like after the game our other brother was like oh you know it seems like an acl it was like oh felt a bit if you're watching his face you'd think every touch he ever gets is an acl i wasn't about to say that it is like i keep thinking about when he was spinning around on his ass on the floor against um because i i basically when i woke up my missus brought me a cup of tea she's lovely like that and um i twisted funny and i got cramp in my calf and i was like

24she was like what's wrong i got cramp you paid money to see that a cramp and she looked at me like i was a child i was like what's cramp and i was like you don't know you have no fucking idea love what cramp feels like if you haven't had it before it is agony it is but javi simmons went round he spun like a bottle top older than his finger I was like he's broken his leg he's broken his leg and his face it looked like he was like he's gonna cry so maybe there's a bit more of that hopefully he's just a bit of a pansy and he's actually alright although he did address this De Zerbi with the this quote which was simply but yeah Zerbi will be out but we can play Mattis Tell on the left Mwani on the right Soza on the right and Berravao on the left.

17So he's told us players we can play in positions but we've never watched them before. I don't know why I'm attacking them. I mean, I think it was time for Richarlison to be starting anyway. So that's my kind of cope with the Solanke thing. Yeah. Okay, boys. Have we missed anything? There was a strange reaction from my dad when Hwang came on. He was like, oh no, not him. Like prime Messi was coming. He does score some... The goals he scores are usually like in pretty important or like clutch moments for other teams, not Wolves, but when it's other teams. I was just surprised at the depth of my dad's knowledge of Huang's career.

06I was like, how did you know this? I thought he must have been mixing him up with someone else. Oh, yeah. Oh, Matoma again. Yeah, my dad went easily. It was funny. There's a certain vintage of old men, especially white old men, who at some stage just stop or never cared or whatever it was. But I remember going to watch QPR with James, my mate, and they have a kid called Saito who's a small Japanese footballer. He's not too bad. He's all right. But the blokes next to us kept me calling the Chinese fella get that Chinese fella off fuck me what are we doing here and then you pull them up on it and they go we don't mean anything by it do we can't tell the difference um didn't mention Ben Sinclair then but probably just leave it alright then um good staying up stay up thank you Alex cheers boys yeah nice one boys oh before you go reminder of Sean's new podcast two geese in a pod two geese in a pod yeah unless you read it in the captions where it comes up there's two geese in a pod oh geese I thought you meant like geese in like you know clarified butter I was like okay it's Billy T and Sean crate of I mean there's some Spurs in there but there's other stuff isn't there yeah it's mainly Tottenham but yeah that's it cheers boys cheers boys have a good one

08Funny but they're funny like a dummy in the barbie of your mommy Ha ha! Fighting cock and we don't give a shit Everybody knows flat baits and prick We can get a sticky in the mini sucky willy When you're getting grilly yeah you're gonna bang the milly Bang bang!
