In short
The episode is a Tottenham-focused football chat centered on recent transfer business, especially the signing of Mudryk (“Fixing Mudryk”). The hosts debate why fans are upset: Mudryk is viewed as a poor backup option because he hasn’t played for two years, and they expected better left-wing/10-role alternatives after missing targets like Cody Gakpo and (reportedly) Ndai. They argue the club’s logic is unclear, though one counterpoint is that De Zerbi previously worked with Mudryk and could unlock his strengths with confidence and basic role clarity. Notable examples discussed: Mudryk’s compilations of big misses and chances; comparisons to players like Timo Werner; and squad context including Tell, Savio, Marmoush, and Danso/Tosin. They also discuss Richarlison’s transfer saga (holding up moves, rivalry/rapport with Arsenal, and whether he’s a “grifter”), De Zerbi’s time-to-gel argument, VAR/penalty frustration from Newcastle, and Q&A topics (Kulusevski returning, loan vs buy logic, and hopes for a 1-0 own-goal win).

1:36Ricky:It's the fighting. It's the fighting. Cock! It's the fighting. It's the fighting. Cock! A camel churn up! Hello, Ricardo. How are you doing? All good, mate. All good. Actually, I was going to say all good, but I feel a little bit sick. Do you ever get it when, you know, when you like come down with something or you're ill and you feel like you're going to actually puke? Generally, after I've got off your mum, yeah. We're not even 18 seconds in. That's ridiculous. Sorry. That's a reducer for the very obscene moment. Let them know you're there. What are you saying? Yeah, I just feel a bit queasy.
2:28Ricky:You know, we're just sitting there. I haven't eaten anything. I've only had black coffee, but I just feel like I'm going to puke. Really? Yeah, so watch out. How funny would that be if I just started projectile vomiting on my Mac and my mic? It's just the two of us today, so you'd have to carry on after. Just sitting there with sick all over yourself. Trying to go and wash it up. Right, how you doing, mate? All right, other than that? Yeah, all good. How about yourself? Good, yeah, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good. What's your problem with Mudrick? I haven't got a problem with Mudrick.
3:02You shut your mouth. You do have a problem. You have a massive problem. What did you put in the group? You were on a one-man crusade to not like any of the material coming out about the Mudrick transfer, isn't it?
3:17Ricky:Yeah, I mean, number one, what goes in WhatsApp stays in WhatsApp, you grass. Snitches get stitches. You're upsetting everybody. You're upsetting everybody, Ricky. Number two, I did say that any content posted out by Tottenham with Mudrick in it, even if it's got other players in it, I'm not liking it. And that is my one-man crusade, sure. Which will have – how much impact do you think? Zero. We've got a question here. It says from Fuga City. It says, why are so many people up in arms about Mudrick? Is he truly shit or are people just butthurt that we didn't get in Jai and taken out on him? I, so here's my stance on it, right?
3:59Um, the, we were going in for Gakpo, couldn't get Gakpo and I, that came out of nowhere. Lovely surprise. I kind of like trying to align Gakpo and Ndai, but both quite different players. Yeah.
4:21Ricky:And I believe I may be misquoting and I may be getting this wrong. So don't take it as gospel, but I could have sworn. I saw a tweet by Paul O 'Keefe saying that Ndi was, was bought to play the 10 role or to mainly play there. I may have been making that up. I'm pretty sure I did see something like that anyway, but then to go to those two players and it's not the point that we did didn't get them. It's the caliber of player that we are looking as a backup on the left wing. And at the moment, tell I have a lot of time for tell, right? In pre, in preseason for me, he was our standout player. I really like him in the prem.
5:09Ricky:He looks to take on his, he at least drives with the ball. He looks to get forward. He, he tries to score, score goals. he is a bit frustrating at times too many step overs waiting a bit too long to delay the pass a bit indecisive making the wrong pass yeah so it's kind of like we need someone that is better and that is ready to take the reign Gakpo he scored already he's assisted already right yeah
5:51Ricky:Madrid hasn't played in two years. He's not played in two years. And even when he signed for Chelsea, I don't really remember any standout game. It's so fucking long ago. So this is what we're doing, right? We get more who plays in that position and we put him out on loan. We've got Tell and Tell is supposed to be the backup and then because Savio, is he playing on the left? Is he playing on the right? What is your problem? I just think Mudrick as a backup is terrible, personally. I think it's fucking for a guy, for someone that we want to hit the ground running and to be able to have an end product or do something and the guy hasn't played a game in two years.
6:48Ricky:And from Gakpo to Ndi to Mudrik, I don't understand the logic. The option was either buy someone, buy Mudrik or don't buy someone. That was our choices. Right, okay. Because obviously we didn't get Gakpo, we didn't get Ndi, that has absolutely zero bearing on whether or not, you know, on how you should feel about Mudrik. Yeah. Because we have to be in for these players. We could have got both of them, in theory. But Gatpo decided to remain at Liverpool. We weren't allowed to leave. So that was never going to happen. And we lost out to Man City. So it's then you're like, you're close to both. We didn't get them.
7:27That's fine. That happens. Yeah, it does, of course. So the option was get Madrid in or don't get anybody in. So what would you just prefer as not to waste money on him? Is that the problem? No. I mean, he's shit. It's my problem.
7:41Ricky:and you're telling me out of the thousands of players, whether in the Premier League or across the five leagues. Yeah, no, but we did identify players. We just didn't get them. So in this instance, the deserve he's gone. I know him. I know what he can do for me. I played, but you know, I coached him. I made him to a certain degree. I can make this work. That's what's happened. They haven't gone out and gone, oh, should we just get much? I wouldn't imagine. they've gone let's go and get Mudric the Zerbi's gone I want him I think tore it up in the Ukrainian league yeah good the Zerbi says I want him the club should get him right I could coach in the Ukrainian league and get someone to tear it up I couldn't but you get what I'm saying I'm not I understand I understand he's no one's first choice 100 % yeah but I don't understand and I don't understand the thinking either that's my guess The guess is that Zerbi, the thinking is that Zerbi's worked with him before.
8:43He was one of the most touted players in Europe at one stage. Arsenal and Chelsea were fighting to get him.
8:49Ricky:I swear I remember him being linked to the Gooners, my Gooner mate saying, he's in the bag, he's in the bag. Him watching an Arsenal game on telly and he's got an Arsenal shirt on or he's like, you know, twerking for the Gooners. and then the whole deal of Chelsea have this asset that they've bought for fucking millions he's shit he hasn't played for two years and now he's going to come to us and we'll bring his value back up if he does well
9:23shit is quite a reductive way to talk about it just saying he's shit yeah okay is he better than Timo Werner? he's probably the same you're thinking i know your head's working blonde runs fast yeah misses big opportunities must be yeah yeah yeah sure sure i see where you've come up with the uh the parallels of uh your thinking there is compilation i've watched one compilation i'm like fucking hell look at this guy yeah and then literally the next reel came up as a compilation of all these misses like shit I've seen both of those as well. He does miss some big chances, that boy. I'll try and be positive, right?
10:05Ricky:You can have to be. There's plenty to be positive about. That is how I feel. But on the flip side is, what if De Zerbe can get the best out of him? What if De Zerbe knows his strengths straight away and just asks him to do basic things and that's all I need you to do? Build his confidence up, starts getting a run of games together, How often is he also? How often is he going to play? I know. That's the thing. Where does he rank? He's a backup winger. He's an option, isn't he? Same way that Tosin is Danso. Yeah. But he's better than Danso. That's ridiculous. He's the greatest Danso! I like it when you do that.
10:47We can't do that anymore. No, it's ridiculous. Yeah, I mean, and the Tosin ones. even Chelsea fans are going this geezer's crap
11:02but maybe he's better than Danso we don't know but it's 7 million pounds it's less than Will Lancia or or Ashley Phillips
11:11Ricky:well I mean what I again disappointed with Danso going I understand that he wants first team football he wants to play all the time and that's disappointed that he left why why is he right I tell you what instead of Tosin I'd rather have Danso easily I don't I'm not passionate I'm not gonna passionately fight that I'm just I don't Danso doesn't suit the Zerbi system I don't think he can't play football in that way no he doesn't but he's he's fourth choice centre back yeah so he's not so he's not expected to do that yeah but when you get an injury he's suddenly there. Who, Danso? Yeah. Sineshi first, then Danso.
12:00Ricky:The thing I loved about Danso is that, especially as an example, the Europa League final, when United were just absolutely launching missiles into the box and he was getting his head on everything, blocking everything. Van de Ven and Van Heek, both of them are a little bit suspect with heading i think and dan so is he wins the vast majority of his headers and the the example chelton when he came on he scored but he had to get his head on something that he knew was going to fucking split his head open and he did it it's that that type of player, that bravery. Yeah, but you get bravery in League Two, mate.
12:49Ricky:Yeah. You get bravery from anybody. Yeah, you can, but I feel like that's the part that we miss of bringing on someone. I feel like you won out. You won out. You know, like we play against Hull, right? And they're just going to launch balls in. Big, aggressive men and then sticking it on us. And I don't believe Van Heek or Van de Ven are going to be battling. What have got into you? No, just saying, the two players, Tosin, right? because Dante's gone and Mudrick. Rest of it, beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Do you know what it reminds me of? I can't remember their fucking names now. Is it the lads that used to run for the marathon runners?
13:30Ricky:Is it Browntree? Roundtree? Yeah, Brownlee. Brownlee. And they're smashing up the marathon, winning it, got right to the end, and then it was so fucked, he started running sideways and then backwards. It's like you could see the finish line. and just go for it. But then his brother had to help him in carrying him. Yeah, sorry. He got over the finish line, didn't he? Yeah, he did. Great story. Yeah. Anything else upsetting you? Just those two. But there's a million positive things to talk about if you want. Yeah, that'd be good. Okay. I think how you feel is the way most people feel from what I've read.
14:07Ricky:Right, okay. Yeah. How do you feel? Because you were quite celebratory about, Madrid you've got a flag card outside your house and you had the Ukraine flag out and you were yeah yeah I didn't give a shit about Ukraine but now I did I don't care about it really which is not a good position to be indifferent to a transfer it doesn't hurt us in any way having another body there could we have put more out there instead maybe it doesn't look ready in my opinion but is Madrid ever going to be ready I don't care is my answer okay good I'm not I'm not bothered either way what about Tosin I couldn't care less right okay it feels like they just if that was our business the main business we did that sort of thing Everton might do yeah I wouldn't I would be furious at this point sure I think the sign-ins of Tonali, Fernandes Savio and Marmouche on their own would have been a good window for us.
15:15Oh, mate. Incredible. Yeah, so it's the fact that we've also got Robertson, Sanessi, Van Hecker and Dubravka. I'm content. So if I'm content... Did you say Savio in that? Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. I'm content, Rick. So if I... You can't be content and angry, I don't think. It's impossible. I think you find I can. I guess so, but you can't like... you can't be critical of the club this summer I don't think everything that they plan to do I'll tell you I'll tell you something Alistair Gold wrote this yesterday Vinay Venkateschum Johan Langer and Rafi Mawson took turns holding talks with clubs and agents based on who they had the best pre-existing relationship De Zerbi would later praise the sporting director for the solutions he came up with to get to some of these deals over the line in the hectic window Venkateschum had previously admitted that he would be looking to bring in another sporting director's time to fill the gap left by Paratichi alongside Lange after a window to share the load but most sides now most sides are now operating with two people in those positions in the modern game and many of them with long notice periods there's some other trio took trio at the top utilize their contacts and clubs at clubs across the premier league working to their different strengths Venkatesham leaned on his relationships at West Ham and Newcastle among others to get huge transfers done and Mawson would prove instrumental in the club's double deal with former employees, Manchester City.
16:45Okay.
16:45Ricky:Sounds good. Yeah. All took turns, like we do with your mum. One gets tired, tag the other in. When one gets tired. Yeah. Just stop. Tag another one in. Yeah. No. Poor old mum.
17:08Yeah, it sounds like a cohesive football club. Langer's gone nowhere, is he?
17:12Ricky:It doesn't look like it, but I don't know if you've seen the rumours on Twitter that there is an Italian sporting director, maybe Inter Milan, who has just left. I can't remember who he left. Yeah, Inter Milan, I think it is. What, do you want him? Well, I'm just saying that there's rumours of foot. I think Romano tweeted about it. He said, keep an eye on this, and then he mentioned Tottenham. I mean, yeah, so this is Ocelio exit from Inter after 29 years working. 29 fucking hell. Yeah. At least he knows his stuff, doesn't he? He must know his stuff. I just I think I got a lot of heat for this I produced a podcast about the Langer with I did it with Dan Kilpatrick a while back and people said it's way too soon and I understand that it was it was a very unpopular episode but I think the conversation was worth having it was probably the title of the pod did it in no favours but sometimes you don't know you're going to fuck up until you've done it so I would still have the same conversation but what's his job what do people rate him by?
18:28mostly what do they rate oh the players that we buy the ability to get the players in yeah so we've signed what how many players have we signed 12 I think it's 10 wasn't it yeah just a complete rebuilding of the squad on paper thus far he's done quite a good job he's rolling it so yeah I don't know I mean giving the keys to the club or anything. How many of those players that he's identified? How many of those are Deserby signings? How many of those are opportunistic signings? It's clearly a group thing, isn't it? They decide and then they work together. But I guess it should be coming from him.
19:16It should be coming mainly from him as the sporting director. But I don't necessarily trust him to do that. Deserby obviously has massive influence. But Deserby says he's been impressed by the amount of work he said never thought he'd be able to get this many through the door so someone must be doing something right yeah let's not winning some games now that'd be good i kind of wish football weren't really about the playing football and it was just about signing players that'd be good yeah um being a year said i had the great fortune of being behind ricky on the white our lane uh boy behind ricky on the white heart lane back to seven sisters on saturday after the Newcastle game.
19:52So my question is to Ricky. Does he have an exercise regime to turn that noggin of his into a perfect egg shape? Or was he born like that?
20:05What is your... What, my head shape? No, no. How do you keep... Because you keep your head... You go quite close. It's skin. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bick. Just bick it. You bick it? Yeah, yeah, of course. There's these things called skull shavers or something. Don't get close enough. You've tried? Yeah, yeah. I used to have one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then it broke and I was just like, do you know what? Just pick it. It's easier. Isn't it hard? No. It's not like, it's not as heavy as beard hair. No, no, no, no. It's easy because it's quite short already. It's like, you know. And you put shaving foam all over your head.
20:45Yeah, yeah, yeah. Can you, can I, can you do a video? Sure, absolutely. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, good. Before the season even kicks off, soccer fans are already making predictions. Who wins the league? 22:27Ricky:Yeah, that's it. Shaving foam and bicket, yeah. And the head is just your shape, your head. Yeah, I can't change anything about that. um v nice linkedin lunatic spiel what's that versus richard lison's tortured teenager email story pick one hmm we talked a bit about this on tuesday but what do you think of the richard lison situation um what's he still doing there yeah i get that i thought you loved fucking thought you loved Everton off. Yeah. Right. That's the club that's in your heart, you said. Yeah. I mean, like, Liars. Yeah. Once you've said that right and you've put it out there and then you don't go back there.

23:17You can't then go to Traversport. You look like a tit. Yeah, you do. Yeah. He's a grifter. That's what it is. Yeah. It's clear that he's a grifter. He doesn't love Everton and he just says that stuff. Yeah. You look a prat now and you're going to have to go. So someone was quite angry. Nick had a bit of a, not a tirade against Richarlison, but he, I suppose you've rejected 20 million for him. How?
23:48No, thank you. We don't want 20 million. We want more. That's probably how. Have you seen him play? I have seen him play.
23:56Ricky:What I will say is, right, I haven't been Richarlison's biggest fan and I do have some grumbles about him. But pre-season, was he our top goal scorer? In pre-season? In the last season, the whole of last season. And the whole of last season as well. So we can put the ball in the net, but we want to go higher than that. and I kind of feel like... Do you agree with him holding the transfer up though? Like what, should he have just done what the club told him to? He's an individual and as much as I would be like, just fucking go, come on when I want and die. Did you at him on Twitter? No, God no, no.
24:45As much as I would want that transfer to happen for them to go in, you know, they're separate deals but one depends on the other, whatever way you want to look at it. But I don't blame him. He's like, how old is he now?
25:01Ricky:29 maybe? 27, 29? I don't know. I think he has the right to kind of decide where he wants to go and who he wants to play for, how much money he gets. He's going to be coming into the last years of his – actually, he's going to be coming into his pomp if he's at this age. Surely he should be... Again, so maybe he wants to play first team and get that run of football. Maybe he might not do it at Everton. Maybe... Of course he would. They would have got to play at... Well, there was the rumours of Balogun, weren't there? Yeah, he would have gone back and they wanted him. He chose not to. Yeah, I don't blame him.
25:41But if he doesn't move, if he doesn't get this move to Turkey, what's more attractive about Turkey than Everton as well? because it wasn't never about the money for him, was it? He didn't want to go to Saudi, so it wasn't that. He just didn't want to go back to Everton. And you can't really blame him. No. Deep down.
26:01Ricky:But yeah, I don't think he, I mean, like he can't, he can't carry on at Tottenham now after putting out that story, like him saying that he's the villain, he's written as the villain in all the stories or something like that. and it looks like the maybe communication has either broken down or De Zerbi is, you know, spinning it in his favour of saying Richarlison one day he says he wants to stay and the next day he says he wants to go and, you know, it puts it on Richarlison then. Do you think De Zerbi should have been that open? He just kept saying this is what is happening. I think he's trying to have a faster turnover of the squad and to grease the wheels, maybe he's just saying that people want to leave.
26:53Ricky:Like openly, like saying, coming out and then saying, you know, two days ago, Danso came to me and said he wants to leave. I don't think he really needs to say that. Just get the transfer done, really. And if you're asked about it afterwards when all said and done, it's fine. But again, if someone says something and you put it out there publicly, it's kind of like you know it's you've nailed your colours to the master you've got to go now we've said it do you think we'll ever score a goal again? look honestly I probably don't think we will probably not I definitely don't think we're going to win a game again no it's ridiculous no like you know we're going to be previewing the Forest game but at some stage but do you have faith going into that game?
27:40what I what I would love is for us to win 1-0 and it's an own goal. Okay. Yeah, so we don't even, still can't score. Own goal after a five-minute VAR check. Yeah. The merger says, which of our wingers do you think will end the season with most goals? They said their goal. No one. Someone said, which player will have the most goals? Which player will score a goal? All right. Sorry, I know this is a Q &A and it's about the audience, but I just want to say the penalty decision that we didn't get against Newcastle, honestly, the tackle, the clattering of, I can't even remember the defender who made the tackle, but caught the underside of Mamouchi's boot.
28:32Ricky:You heard it, the proper clap of it in the ground. It's like, you know, when there's a hard tackle and you hear the shin pads smack together or something like that. I heard it so clearly, the crack. I was like, oh, fuck. It didn't even say on the screen going to VAR or anything. There was no communication. I had no idea. I was looking at my dad as to say, is VAR working? Are they using it today? Has there been a change in the Premier League that they're no longer doing this? Like, what's up? I saw no calls on the big screen. Fucking mental. yeah I don't I think they kind of reduced the impact of VAR this year I mean this is a good thing overall I'd rather be getting things wrong but anyway yeah I never think those sort of things are penalties but they're often given like Harry Kane's one was given in the World Cup if you're like looking at the ball and you attempt to kick the ball and then the defender puts his leg in the way to me that's on the defender It's not a foul.
29:39But by the letter of the law, I'm incorrect.
29:42Ricky:Yeah. So there you go. Still want to lead that penalty, don't we? Rekt Rafe says, if you get a shit-neck Tahoe like Mudrix, what would it say? It's terrible, that Tahoe. Talent isn't enough of a line for a talent. Who thought? And it's like... It's so bad. It's right there. Yeah. You know. Terrible. Yeah. Yeah, I am. What was the question? Who's got the worst neck tattoo? No, what would be the worst neck tattoo? I don't like Richarlison's either. The one that goes up the side of his neck. He's got Neymar tattooed on his back. I think that's weird. Yeah. He's like your mate. It's like me having you tattooed on my back.
30:24Well, I was about to say, what would you do if I turned up and I had you tattooed on me?
30:32Nothing. that's all right fair yeah that's all right still my mate just turn up and you've got headphones on a pod mic and then it's and it's just you podcasting just on my chest
30:49yeah did you did you we spoke to each other about our photo that we got taken the kids charlton we haven't spoken on this have we no no we haven't no no so for those that don't follow me on Instagram, Flav underscore Bateman.
31:06We basically, me and Ricky were at the Charlton game and I noticed that Frederic Jensen, who I speak about quite a lot, because I really rate her photography. It's really amazing stuff, right? Go and follow her on Instagram.
31:20I know she was there because she posted a picture on her Instagram of where she was sitting because she was taking photos in, you know, those sort of like gullies. I think she sits in there and shoots from the side of the pitch anyway i sent her a message saying find me and ricky in the stadium and take a picture of us and she's like like there's 60 000 people and she found us and took a great photo from with a sort of uh what do you call it long distance lens they're not called telephoto telephoto lens that's right yeah and uh post it up so uh what a great photo oh it's yeah
31:54Ricky:it's an amazing photo it brings me so much joy because you can see the joy in our faces in this mate i had such a good night i really did it so it was such a funny funny experience yeah yeah i need to go i need to get down the lane much more often i've got that that gave me my bug back a little bit uh and i if i lived in london i'd be going as much as you lot but yeah but I want to make the effort much more
32:24so yeah shout out Frederic I can't remember what I was going to say now sorry it's alright
32:34Zoltan says how many blokes got in the dirt to pretend they were a vegetable this week that was so funny yeah that was that was one of the funniest things what was it sometimes i go out in the garden and cover myself in dirt and pretend i'm a carrot so good um nelly's 26 do you think the center back situation could have played out quite a bit better if danzo rather pushed for the move in june rather than the last minute we could have probably made a better case for vuscovic to stay if he was going to be van hecker's understudy have no ill feelings towards Danso about it and back Tosin as he's representing the club but can't help but think the last minute transfer requests screwed us a bit it's a good point maybe I mean he may have told them but they couldn't they wouldn't sanction it but it did seem from rumours and I can only say this is rumours he wasn't named in the starting 11 against Charlton and he was surprised by that he came on as a sub I believe yeah so after that when you're playing in a League Cup game against Charlton at home and you're still not given minutes or starting I think he kind of just he just wants to play football yeah and he doesn't he doesn't feel like he's going to get the opportunity so after that he's just like you know if I can move now and I'm going to play I'll do it so that's where I think White came in late yeah I think you're right and I think you're I think that's I think it's fine I don't have any ill will towards him and I think he was crucial you know in the running to keeping us in the division less his performances because he fucked up against Brighton didn't he but it's he he was vocal in his support for the fans and was a big part I think in bridging that gap between the club and the supporters which is what we really needed and I think that's why people have such a high opinion of him and I do as a man, you know, he's exactly the kind of person you want representing in your football club, but he just wasn't good enough to play for us, I think.
34:52So then at Charlton, you know, the Derby could have said anything to him, but the action is you're not good enough to play in this game or we don't need you to play in this game. So for him, he's going to go, I need to come play football. Yeah. And he probably will at Sunderland.
35:09Kulusevsky returns to Tottenham training after 15 months out with a knee injury I think that was in the athletic yesterday but what does that mean he's training full training or yeah full training with the boys first team yeah with the boys what have you seen have you seen pictures and that have you yeah yeah yeah I've seen videos videos yeah okay they're doing shooting practice how much do you think oh nice how much do you think like Mujicic is going to pay you by the way we didn't answer that Savio left Kuli's right Mammish middle yeah and then hopefully if Savio does need to come off in the second half or get a rest then it'll be tell yeah so hopefully not a lot
36:03I wonder that how quickly would you be willing to go I got it wrong he's been good um yeah the thing is when I if I say stuff like this right and they turn out to be scoring goals assistant great loan
36:21Ricky:it's a win-win for me my football team's winning they're doing well and he's scoring goals I couldn't give a shit like so I like straight away actually not not after one game if he scores I'm not going to come back in here and say i apologize about it i want to see a consistent run of games where he's scoring assisting or just an overall decent performance off the bench is a good option but if someone's chasing the game yeah yeah yeah yeah he's got legs on him he has got legs on him does remind me of werner though loads yeah but why can't you just be i'm not over the moon about it but I hope he does well instead of saying I hate his guts I'm going to find out where he lives I'd like I didn't say I hate his guts or where he I find out where he's going to live I do hope he does well I really do but I just can't see it start liking any pictures of him in no way okay
37:26is that time? It's not the quiz. Don't worry. We're not doing none this week. Let's go. It's like fucking hell, man. Let's go. All on me. All eyes on me. Shit. I feel like quizzes for happy times. Yeah. I don't think you can go into an upbeat quiz after two on the bounce. No. We don't deserve it. Mate, I got my haircut the other day. Fucking crucified. It was like sitting there being abused for 30 minutes and then just leaving and then giving them 20 quid.
37:56Ricky:How do you mean? as in a Tottenham sense or just them bullying you yeah they were bullying me but because I support Spurs right okay and he's a Portsmouth fan oh you can't be taking that but he's like you don't know anything about us and I'm like I don't I don't even know who you played the weekend so he goes I can say what I want you need to go in there heavy handed do your research I'm gonna I'm gonna go to I'm gonna go to another hairdresser if you carry on yeah um if i cock is backed by saley um and uh you can if you what's actually someone messaged me they messaged me this i'm gonna give a shout out uh hang on a sec okay i've got to get it what's it um jake my boy jake hi flav this is from luca long time listener of the pod my daddy's going abroad for two weeks and was going to pay Vodafone over£100 for data.
38:56I gave him the fighting cot link to Salee. It's in the description below. He's very pleased.
39:04And I said,£100, are you right? And he said, yeah,£7 a day with Vodafone.
39:10Ricky:Jesus Christ. Fucking mental. Like, why would you? Everyone needs internet, right? And you're out and about when you're on holiday. You're not in the hotels all the time to use the Wi-Fi, and you want to use your phone. You don't have to pay£7 a month. £7 a fucking day, that is outlandish. It's£100 to use your phone when you're abroad. That's ridiculous. Just download the app, 15 % off your first date of plan now. Use fighting cock at checkout, and you're going to save money, and you support the podcast. That is extortionate. I mean, this is my phone. I want to be able to use it whenever I want, right?
39:47Ricky:And even if I'm abroad, it doesn't matter to you where I use it. Apparently it does because they charge you loads. So use fucking Sadie. That's all I'm going to say. All right. The link is in the description. Be legends. Actually does really well. I spoke to Jake the other day. He's managing the account. And that link that you can click on. The amount of people signed up using the links. Madness. Madness. That's good. Keep going. Keep going. DH, no leaf clover. First time, long time, boys. What's happening? I like it. First, I'll say I'm not... Sorry. First, I'll say I'm not one of those that are ready to throw the baby out of the bar for.
40:35I still feel positive about our direction. Two questions. How long do you think it would take for Spurs to gel with our current match squad and string of wins together? How many matches do you think the Zerbe has to find form before the club considers moving him on.
40:54I think it's coming. You can see against Newcastle, despite losing 2-0, that we have moved in the right direction from the Brentford game. And there's like a couple of passages of play and a period of like 10 minutes where we had control. We were able to get the ball forward and into dangerous areas. And that was really encouraging. I was quite encouraged, actually by that first half against Newcastle. So I think that will become much more a regular occurrence. On top of this, we don't have Europe, so we've got one game a week for the next three weeks. So there's plenty of time on the training ground for De Zerbi to fix it.
41:34Do you agree with that? How many matches before does the club have to look at De Zerbi? Yeah, I mean, I tweeted a video at Ricky TFC if you want to follow me. And the video, that 10-minute compilation, is showing all the passages of play and all the positive play that we've been making. And I said that this is why I don't feel nervous or that I can see something is just around the corner. The more time these players have together, the more time they train, the more time they find out what kind of how players play. They build up that relationship, the camaraderie between each other.
42:16Ricky:I don't know if you've seen it, but there's a video call, I believe, Tosin and Solanke. They've been best mates for God knows how long. No Spurs fan, Tosin. Yeah. And the thing is as well, part of my annoyance of Tosin was him choosing Monaco over Tottenham a couple of years back. And I could have sworn he made a dig at Tottenham. But I think I was, I don't know, I just think I was angry. and I was making stuff up. But then I saw all that stuff today and I was like, well, he's welcome back in. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So anything I see of Tozin, I'm going to like it. So fickle. But no, it is an interesting question because, you know, if the unthinkable happens, how many games is it before people start, you know, getting itchy feet and thinking, have we just given Roberto the keys to the house?
43:18I just think because he's such a systematic manager, it's going to take time. You can't just chuck 10 new players into a squad and go, right, this is going to work immediately. No. Unless you're playing rudimentary football. Yeah. And you're not getting the best out of those players. Like Sam Allardyce could go in there and tell the players, let's play high percentage football. Let's put the ball in, get the ball up quickly, hit certain zones and win that second ball. But yeah, you can get an immediate impact like that. And De Zerbe simplified things for Spurs when he first came in. But the next stage is to actually build an identity.
43:51And it takes time. Like, Areola is widely regarded as an excellent football manager. He didn't win in his first 13 games for Bournemouth. He didn't win. And they stuck with him because they knew it took time. He lost his entire back line was gutted the season before last. Again, I think it was eight or nine games before he got a win. And then it was unbeaten for the rest of the season, pretty much. In that time, they lost Semenya. So I'm saying my point is that it's not just click your fingers, buy the players, and it's going to work. There's no guarantee like that. The system's going to take time for them to learn.
44:31The problem is the expectation and hope goes up when you see these kind of players coming through the door. yeah just because you're more hopeful doesn't mean it's not going to take time so barring you know an absolute catastrophic run of results you've got to give it time yeah yeah completely uh you know i don't i don't see i've seen a couple of people like say i'll be he'll be gone by christmas or something like that uh i've seen a few articles and a few videos of you know the problem of the zerby football or it's a bit old hat of how he's playing and this, that and the other. I don't believe any of that, if I'm honest.
45:13And I think once this team really gels, I feel like that we are... I think we're going to... We'll kind of see the days back of when we were playing beautiful football. We're scoring great goals and we're an entertaining team to watch. That's what I think. I think it'll happen. Slow Try says, what one player in the squad would you pick to stay fit with all year with no injuries?

47:03you drive different. Drive high, get a DUI. Paid for by NHTSA. Oh, that's a good question. Fernandez? Madison? Oh. Yeah,
47:23Ricky:Madison's a shout. Savio's a shout. Fernandez, I've been really impressed with Fernandez. I mean, the kind of compilations that you see of when he's at Southampton, when he's at West Ham, seeing him play live a couple of times. But you don't have that real kind of understanding and appreciation of a player until they're playing for you and you get to see them. And the way that it's so weird how he passes a football because he passes it with pace and it gets up and down really quickly. it's like he knuckleballs a pass but he's it's so kind of i don't know it's outrageous outrageous isn't it it's insane it's like a fucking missile yeah like if you're doing a lofty pass it normally go quite high up takes a while to come down and then the defender's in place and you know and then they're dueling for the ball but where he's passing it goes up and it goes down so quickly i don't know how he does it it's it's insane brilliant yeah he is he's mustard you just tell there's class about him yeah he's trying to get a really good player there yeah for sure really really good player um seppel syndrome says which is going to be more annoying mudrick having major resurgence and is a huge part of us playing well because he can't play against chelsea because it's alone and marmouche having a 25 goal goal in assist season but can't play against city because it's a loan.
48:56With this Marmouchi thing, why didn't they just say, we're not going to loan him, but we'll buy him, but we'll pay nothing up front and then buy him, pay the rest of the season. Why is the loan, is it just easier to do? There must be a technical reason for it, but I just wondered. It's like when Dele Alli went to Everton, they didn't pay us anything until certain things were hit. Do you remember that? Yeah, I do. I don't know you're the finance guy I don't know you
49:27Ricky:mate go on I'll find out I'll find out I'll try and find out Pike Gordon says what is the most meh result this season that will feel like progress but won't excite you yes I could I was thinking about this the other day right I was thinking about the performance of the podcast and what it needs like when when we had that moment on the Pasacogli like numbers on the podcast we got mental. Yeah. But then there wouldn't be a significant jump even if we got a win last season because of the general mood. So I was wondering what it would take to change how much, how, what would we need to see to suddenly start feeling good, really good about the club in terms of what they can do on the pitch.
50:13Is it our run of like two or three wins, four wins, but in really good fashion? Yeah. Something like that, isn't it? That we haven't experienced for three years. yeah i i think generally a run of wins three or four and will be completely different because if you have a run of three or four wins you'll jump the table significantly and it will have an impact and it will either get you tucked up close to the top four or if it doesn't happen you're sitting at the bottom of the league uh so i'm quite simple in the fact that it well i'd say most football fans are that if you get a few wins under your belt things are a lot more rosy it doesn't need to be a seismic kind of if we win the fa cup then i'll feel better
51:08Ricky:it's just a few wins and if we can see patterns of play improving if we can see stuff that you probably expect to see on the training ground and it's working in a match and then you kind of have that belief back it won't take much I hope so Rick feels like we've been sort of in the doldrums for such a long time now Diddy Barrett this is the carrot guy thanks for revealing my character related secrets in the last episode the missus has locked the back door now and hidden the key my question is if you can add a zero to any number in your life what would it be i.e. height salary iq you would be if you added a zero to your height you'd be just shy of six foot
51:57um well it depends where you're where you're adding it really for like Like, would you, like, how tall are you? About four, nine? Five, six.
52:12Ricky:No, five, seven. Sorry, five, seven. I keep saying five, six, but I was... Would you add a foot? If you're like, so you're as tall as Peter Crouch. So if I was six, seven? Oh, God. I don't know how many mates with you. If you suddenly became six, seven, I'd be like, I don't know. I had an operation. Yeah. And I was just suddenly taller. would you add would you add an inch to your penis or would it not bother you now wouldn't bother me in the slightest no no no it's never bothered me how big is it really tiny like really really small really small I've seen it it's not it's thin and long yeah yeah what was the name we had for it I can't remember let's move on you can remember you know you're thinking that in your head right now i can i'm not i'm not saying it it's just so much darker than the rest of your body is what i mean a lot of penises are like that and i don't know why why i don't know it's not like they're on on show in the sunlight all the time is it yeah it always like darker much darker yeah i don't know why
53:25why can't we say the name of your penis because i cut i i have to contend with enough of meeting people in person down on the ground. I cannot have another name thrown in.
53:39Answers on a postcode. A postcode. Answer on a postcard. What would you put a zero against then? Salary? Yeah, of course. It would be a salary, but one of the options would be IQ, but I don't think being more intelligent. I'm not an intelligent person, but I think more intelligence leads to unhappiness. I think. Yeah, maybe, actually. Generally. If Tonali... Hide the rum. If Tonali was the same exact player but ugly and German instead of sexy new age a pillow, how much would we have spent on him? He'll come good. Again, there was moments. That first five minutes against Newcastle was terrible, but he grew into the game.
54:24DJ, one up. You're not alone here. Completely disagree with Nick and Mark's characterisation of Richie. No one else in the squad. seems to understand the rivalry of Arsenal as much as he does. I argue his shitposting has endeared him to the fans. That being said, outside of he who must not be named, do you think is the worst rapport with the fans?
54:45Hossam Ghali didn't have great jokes. No, not after what he did. Yeah, through your shirt, not on. Yeah.
54:53Ricky:Well, I mean, I know I have covered it, but what I will say about Richie, I can't quite, I mean, what did they even say? Like, that Richie didn't have a rapport with the fans? Like, he does. Yeah. But I just feel like people have been frustrated season on season with the output of the goals and the injuries that Richarlison's had. It's just lacking of top quality. And there was a lack of consistency with his touch that meant when the ball went to him, you couldn't say with any great authority that we're just going to be able to hold on to that ball. No. Which is over time quite draining. Or just hit the deck.
55:37Yeah. Just grab a feign injury to try and win a free kick wherever he was, but never get it. Yeah. Never get it. Yeah. But then he scores like red kicks and scissor kicks. So, you know. This is a question from N.T. Smith. Why do people have such weird names? Anyway, my radio station in Dallas unveiled the unsettling reality that some men go full balls out when using the urinal. What? Like you pull out your balls and have them outside your jeans or your trousers. Do you? No, I'm just trying to work out what I do. You just pull your willy out over the... I've generally kind of got chinos on, so just pull them over that and then have a piss.
56:33The whole cock and balls. I think I do do cock and balls, you know.
56:36Ricky:What? I don't know. You list them out. Where you've got your boxers, my knob isn't just over the band of the boxer shorts. Oh, you pull them down? I don't pull them down, but I'm not like at the urinal with my jeans. and boxes at my ankles like a six-year-old urinal but i yeah i think i do try to get everything out are you boys franks only or franks and beans he says or is it more proper to use bangers and mash in london meat and two veggies what we call it yeah um do you know what i'm shocked at the amount of people that men that piss sitting down it it shocked me like we we had a meet up at my house a few months back yeah and one of the conversations what came to pass was the amount of them that would sit down and wee yeah it shocked me yeah and i thought there's no chance i'm in the minority here and i was because i'm the only one that doesn't sit down when i need a wee like a girl Rarely I do.
57:47So you get on, you pull your trousers and your pants down, right? You sit there and you tuck your willy between your legs like a girl and sit down. It's mainly that I have to when it's gone inside itself. Literally can't even hold it because it's gone. What? Because things have made it happen that way. That's what I'm saying. You know. But you can't even hold it. yeah it's literally it's like barely there
58:18Ricky:and it's like pointing straight it's not like even hanging down straight so for we it just goes it would go straight forward all right look in that instance if they've got some sort of disability then fine but well I haven't got a disability yeah it's just you're really not working properly yeah but people like passionate like Alex from Bristol's passionate about it yeah yeah and then like my other mate, Mark, and he turned up and he's like a big geezer. And I'm like, there's no chance he sits down and he goes, do you sit down when you have a wee? And he goes, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Sometimes I want to treat myself.
58:56Ricky:Just piss. Get out. Why? I don't know. Out of the Tottenham squad, who do you think sits down?
59:08Bergvall comes to mind straight away yeah i don't hate that hey you know i shit myself yeah so i told you that didn't i yeah have you done it again no no no nearly so i was on the train back yesterday coming back from uh london and i needed a poop but but i don't like people that that just decimate a toilet on a train because the carriages next two carriages are right off yeah i just think this i just think if you can hold it then that's that so i just didn't want to do it train toilets are absolutely vile as well who would want to sit on that seat yeah and obviously i can just i can wait later it wasn't desperate but then i started getting really desperate but it was close to where i needed to go but for a second you know sometimes you forget yeah you forget that you need to go and then this woman was was she had a kid and she had a pram and i was like i do need help carrying the pram forgetting that i need to have a poop okay yeah and then i was like i picked up the pram as soon as i picked it up it felt like i was gonna shit myself and I had to walk all the way up the stairs, all the way up the stairs, across the bridge, down the stairs, clenching my buttocks, holding this pram thinking, oh my God, I'm going to shit myself.
1:00:40I'm going to shit myself. Now the difference is it wasn't hot liquid. It was a full poo, a normal poo. Right. Okay. A good, a good logger. Yeah. So potentially what could have happened is I'd have had a whole big poo in my pants. Yeah, but that would have been all right because you could have picked it up and just thrown it when you got to your car. Just as you open the driver's door, just quickly get it out. Launch it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Didn't you once have a poo in your back garden and launch a poo?
1:01:09Ricky:Yeah, I did. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why did you just go to your toilet? I was locked out. I was locked out and I was waiting for my family to arrive home and I remembered that I had a bit of weed outside. so I smoked a little half-skin spliff and it just went straight through me and I was trapped in my own back garden and all I remember is my kids the sandpit was there and there was like a pink castle that was for making sandcastles and I did a poo in that and then I realized had that realization that I'm standing there with a bucket and poo in it and my family are about to come home. So I panicked and just threw it as far as I could.
1:01:57The pink bucket? Yeah, yeah. So there's a Lincoln logger in a castle bucket that's just landed in someone's garden. At what point did you realise, I've got to do something about this, I can't hold it?
1:02:09Ricky:I think it was because I knew that they were like, they were due back in seven minutes and I was just like... But you knew you weren't going to last seven minutes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. so I just had to make an executive decision to poo in a bucket and throw it
1:02:27brilliant oh dearie me um Laos says why does my dog get a boner when he takes a dump yeah lipstick comes out I hate that yeah
1:02:43Ricky:Yeah, detail your dog off about it. Yeah, get out of the way. Put that away. Don't point that thing at me. Do you know I pay 150 quid in insurance a month? Right, this is one of the reasons about not getting a dog. It's cheaper when they're younger, but that's madness. La Contra Magica, he says, deserves his first press conference this year. When asked about how good the team is, he responded, Il Campo Parla, meaning the pitch speaks. What has the pitch been saying about our team so far? And what do we expect to say at the weekend? I think we've kind of gone over this. I think it's, you know, it's fine.
1:03:26It's going to be okay. Yeah. Extra photo says, which current or former Spurs players would you choose to sample Prague's finest pills with strippers? What a night that was. Yeah, that's a good night. Great night. what was the question which footballers would we yeah Moussa Sissoko yeah that's who I'd take I can't even think of anyone who I'd take maybe Madders he seems like it'd be good fun yeah he could be alright he could be alright er alright erm there's a few more I should fuck those legs but er we'll say that save these for another day someone's been downvoting again oh Oh, Bardi, stop it for fuck's sake, man.
1:04:13Oh, Bardi, fuck's sake. Rick, this is from Crud Shoot. All the players are fish. Who puts up the best fight? What bait are you using to land them? What's your favourite fish to catch, Rick? I would probably say, most definitely say carp. And I'd be specific and say mirror, yeah. And what's the largest one you've caught? It's not big at all, 26 pound, 12 ounces. You've been fishing for how long? uh hard from about 14 you've never caught one bigger than that no i took i took a massive gap now you just fish like rud or something don't you yeah i fit in that all-rounder but why don't you fish go go and fish carp why don't you do that because you need a lot of specialized equipment and it's a lot more expensive and you need a lot more time at the lake to try and catch them so uh our mate bill he seems to catch fish like that all the time yeah he does what so you can't go and catch a cat a carp right with a fishing rod and a one you can so what specialist equipment do you need it's it's a bit more like you you can do that but when you say specialist equipment you mean how do i make this easier for myself how do i cheat is what you're saying.
1:05:33Ricky:No, no, no. No? No, because if you've got a shit rod or a shit reel, you're not going to be able to bring that fish in. Why? It will just snap. The line will snap. The reel will fuck up. You need... How much you've got to spend on a fishing rod that's suitable for carp fishing? I don't know. You could probably get an average one of... Yeah, it is. Yeah, a good couple of hundreds. And I think we've talked about this before, but if you have a little boat that drops bait in the middle of wherever you want it to, is that cheating? Cheating, 100 % cheating. Is it? Yeah, yeah. It's nothing to do with the rod.
1:06:09Nah, I'm not having that. Yeah, what about those ones where the lure sits on the bottom like a box and looks like a box of worms? That's cheating. No, that's not cheating. What is cheating? uh the bait boat that you said yeah there's a thing called a baiting pole where you put your like uh bait or your hook in this spoon and you've got a massive pole and you just run it out to the lake and then drop it in like that no casting that's cheating what what low casting no casting so you don't you don't cast it out you just use this baiting pole and you drop it in wherever you want what you don't even cast no that's that is fishing the casting bit is the fishing isn't it yeah it is that's like when you think of anyone thinking about the the fit the kid what so this thing this little robot pole yeah it's a pole you haven't got a fit you got a fishing rod yeah you got a fishing rod but you just use a a pole to put it in the middle of the lake and then just to plop it in.
1:07:18What's the point? Because it's more accurate fishing, isn't it? Yeah. I genuinely think, is there any like purists, like hardcore fishermen who will... Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So we're just talking maggots on a hook and that's it? Yeah, pretty much. Okay. Good. Bye. Bye.
