We chat to Stu and Jay on this episode of The Lab about how the idea to greet the team bus before Forest came together, how quickly the club, the police, fan groups and town council got behind it and why this week has felt completely different around Tottenham Hotspur.
46We get into the disconnect between players and fans and why the mood has shifted so suddenly and why this match feels massive for the future of the club. Most of all, this is about what happens when Spurs fans pull in the same direction. Enjoy.
09Boys, I don't know if... I don't know if... I've never experienced... I've never seen a more sort of unified fan base ever for a long, long time. Maybe the run-in, the Bodo Glimp game and Frankfurt games were something, but we were kind of pushing in a positive direction, whereas previously, certainly this season, we've been in such a, it's been such a difficult season and there's been such a sort of gap between the club and the players and the fans that for this to turn around so quickly, it's just an amazing thing. I'm joined, as you'd have heard in the intro, by Stu and Jay. How are you doing, boys?
48yeah I'm good I'm tired exhausted excited I think the emotions at the moment of just how this is all pieced together it's been I think the correct word for it's a bit magical especially when you're like quite a die-hard Spurs fan and you're seeing players responding to sort of something you've contributed to it's quite an amazing feeling so I'm yeah I'm on cloud nine at the moment it's there isn't it you can feel it yeah I echo what Jay said you know like something It just feels different this week around the club. You know, I forget a lot of people in my comments kind of say, can you get me a ticket?
20They've all been out and sold their ticket weeks ago when we lost the Palace and they're all panicking now. They're scrambling on trying to get a ticket to come to the game. You know, it's absolutely incredible. You know, it's probably going to be the first game that's been sold out in such a long time. And the buzz, just the buzz from this is just absolutely incredible. It's not just the fans. The players are absolutely buzzing from it as well. You know, they were told on Monday afternoon about all this happening. And apparently there's been a massive buzz around the training ground from everyone.
48Everyone's really excited for it. Me and Jay are extremely excited, obviously, along with us and Billy T. We've done most of the legwork in this, but we've had a fantastic group of lads behind us to help us kind of push this. We're just excited for tomorrow now. And we're just hoping that we get the big numbers that we're kind of expecting. And, yeah, it all goes off without any hitches. and it's something we potentially can do moving forward in games to come. All right, we're going to get into all of that in detail, because I'm fascinated by it. I've never really seen such a cohesive work between the club and the fan base before.
21I don't want to make this about previous administrations. They're not important, but I don't think it would have happened under Daniel Levy, and it is happening under this current ownership model. Again, there's going to be conversations about criticism and what this means for the relationship with the fans and Enoch but for now that isn't the conversation. We needed this so badly because literally I would say like 10 days ago, I don't know how you felt boys but 10 days ago I felt like we were down. I felt like there was no connection between the fan base and fans. In fact I had it, I'd spoken to people who there'd be no reason for them not for this not to be true they don't even know about the podcast so that's how I sort of there's nothing to gain from telling me this information that that the fan the players felt really this disenchanted and um and struggling with with the level of animosity that was coming their way from the fan base and elsewhere and in part you know they're they've got to do a job and they're supposed to perform but I think we as a fan base also had a role to play in making that gap go further so I didn't think anything like this was possible in fact I've never been more excited for a game of football and one that we should be absolutely shit in our pants for I mean it's that important and everyone's buzzing everyone's I can't wait I can't wait and like you say like I've got mates that sold tickets after Palace and now are gutted they are gutted and you understand where it came from but yeah so so what so when mostly what we're talking about today adds on to um the work that was done in the week in terms of getting that statement to the players so that they know that we're on board this actually was completely separate it was something you boys were working on separate to the people that were working on that so stew where did the idea come from and how did you kind of get it to take shape and grow legs well basically i was the same as kind Every Spurs fan, really, I think I was a bit delusional, the fact that I thought we would never go down.
29Sitting there in the Crystal Palace game and Mickey Van der Ven makes that tug back in whatever minute it was and all of a sudden we're 3-1 down. I'm sitting there thinking, we're in trouble. I walked away from that game really dejected, thinking we could be down. Our form is absolutely terrible at home. Players look like they've done. The fans look like they're done. The whole club looked like it was done. And it was just a case of I woke up in the morning and I kind of just had this kind of epiphany where I just thought that something's got to be done because I honestly believe if nothing is done or was done, I think we potentially would go down.
10I don't think we would have got this player bounce, this player lift. I don't necessarily put it down to the manager. He's done anything differently. I don't believe that's true. I actually solely believe this is down to the fan base itself. actually kind of putting the club back to one we've kind of repaired all the cracks that have been there for the last year year and a half and and to say that out loud is is it's a great testament to the likes of jay all the boys behind me is you know it's a great effort from us all so where did it start and let's sort of i want to find out about what happened so thursday morning i basically woke up and it come to me about the idea and i then went into a little a group of a bunch of lads said look i've got this idea is there any people that will obviously want to kind of run with it me obviously jay was the first one who jumped in as he does you know he jumped in straight away with a few other lads where i think there was normally it was about four of us to start with i believe about four or five uh i think and then obviously we then with jay obviously got contacts i know people as well it's true when you said you had this idea what was it was it we need to meet the bus that we need to basically everything we've organized is basically come fruitition of what I wanted so obviously I got inspired by what Everton done a few years ago that's basically what it was all based around I was thinking that they'd done something remarkable to bring their their fans and the players back together and I thought it would work for us so obviously me and Jay we talked and then we obviously put it out to other people where people come forward we then obviously set up a meeting with the club and and to be honest that was what swayed it me and Jay had a very long first meeting with the um hierarchy at the club um with the police as well and we delivered a very good statement and everything we wanted it was very well prepared um and they were very like kind of we know we walked away didn't we Jay a little bit thinking I'm not sure we're going to get everything we want here but within like within 24 hours we basically got a green light to say yeah it's all go go go you know so right Okay, so that's fascinating.
12So you walked away from the meeting, you thought, I'm not sure how much we're going to get. And then 24 hours later, you were like, you're free to do what you want to do. Within the restraints, we wasn't told we could do everything, but we was given kind of like the things we were asking for. We were told certain things are going to happen, not all the things that are coming out this week that we were told in the meetings and stuff, obviously, before they came out anywhere else, and stuff like that, obviously. So it was more of just a case of it was fine-tuned everything. Obviously, we'd give an idea and it was also kind of a little pushback a little bit.
47But they didn't really push us back enough to put us off. Do you think it was because they knew it was needed? They understand it's needed? Absolutely. I think we're at a stage now where they know they need the fan base on side. But regardless, that is the reason why they know we've kind of gotten backed against a corner. you know they have worked with us really really well and we are very grateful for it you know like it's not many times you get the cooperation that me and Jay have had from the club to get the things that you are needed we have asked for an awful lot by the way as well you know we've and and obviously we we're even now in contact now with them all now because we're anticipating bigger numbers than what we thought so it's just been a real real big effort from everyone and then in terms of those bigger numbers what are we talking do you think we're talking about you know people the 60 ,000 or 57 ,000 odd Spurs fans going to the game is there like an anticipation that more people outside of the game are coming down that there's like when you say numbers what are you thinking or does it not matter I mean I mean yeah to us we were looking and we were hoping yeah if we could draw 1 ,000, 2 ,000 like we see the numbers last year with the protests and we had the one big one and it was like if we could draw the crowd like that to drum up some really positive atmosphere and sort of the players can see it, you think 2 ,000 people on the corner of a road whilst bus goes past, that's a lot of people and then boom all of a sudden Michael Bridge last night threw a figure out and it sort of like shocked I think everybody that's involved in this and he was throwing numbers like 20 ,000 and it's like can you imagine if an idea that started two weeks ago has spippled into this massive um massive amount of numbers and yeah it's just one of these things and obviously the concern from my part was when we had the first meeting the club were quite distant on allowing us to know if there was going to be a bus and from what we know that's not normal right they usually come in in their cars or what is the procedure yeah so it's it's checkered it's the manager's choice and usually the decisions only made 48 hours prior to the game obviously for us to have been told on monday the coach is coming and this is the we'll give you the route we'll tell you where we can sort of go where do you want to set up and um apparently when it was relayed to the players on monday all the players everybody that was at that training ground wanted to be on that bus and And obviously you've seen last night, I think it's the first time I've seen a player speak for Tottenham and I've quite connected.
30And Kevin Danso last night, the way he spoke, he understands. And I think if you was to ask any of them players one-to-one, do they understand the fans' frustrations? Of course they will. I think it's been very clear Van der Ven's been frustrated of late, Romero, similar. And then all of a sudden they speak on the excitement of this bus arrival. and obviously yourself, Flav, you deserve credit, obviously, with the letter that went into the club. Props off to you. I didn't write that. I helped. There were a lot of people involved. Thank you. Everybody. Everybody involved. And this is what I mean.
08It's not about who's arranged the pregame, who's arranged the concourse. It's about what the fan base as a collective whole has managed to achieve here. Because obviously, it's all well and good, 20, 30 people trying to organise different things. but you need the numbers to be there and it seems to be online. It's got there and the players are now relaying it. And yeah, it's just, it's absolutely insane what everybody involved has done. I've heard that even injured players are going to be on the bus. Is that right? The whole squad? That's correct. The whole squad's going to be on the bus. How are they going to fit all the injured players on the bus?
42I don't know. Sorry, that's an awful joke. Yeah, I mean, that is incredible. And actually it shows uni and it's like it's like hats off really because when I first heard about this given how the club have been in previous years you know I'd go all the way back to when we were doing the 1882 movement in 2011-12 they were so difficult it would not they just didn't give you anything you had to really work for just an inch and um and then so so I've got I had this sort of built-in skepticism about what could be achieved and whether or not the backing for it would be in the fan base. And it's just blown me away.
29We're talking about Spurs in a positive way for the first time this season, barring a couple of results. And what's beautiful about it is it ain't really about, I mean, it is about the players, but this just shows you the community around the football club. What an amazing club we have. it's really really sort of affirming and a really good feeling and we are in you can't forget this is all coming from the place of how precarious a position we have in the league that's where it started right but what's born out of that is oh mate I'm buzzing I'm really buzzing I'm real so yeah so you spoke to the club first and they sort of helped you along I'm just curious you might not want to say but when you say how high up did you said you're not allowed to say?
18There's been very important people on the meetings. Well, on the second meeting that we had on Tuesday, we can't really give names, but there was some very high up people within the club that are influencing decision makers, if we say that much. But from what we were told on Monday was obviously when me and Stu were on the call last week, they relayed sort of what we have plans we kind of had answers to everything obviously met police had concerns um if we were to get the numbers obviously is it going to be safe is it going to be this obviously they don't want players the bus being stopped and the forest bus so we've had to work around so many different aspects and um they they relayed our idea back to the boards as such um and it seems to be it went from our we weren't too sure and this was that where why by far say when after the meeting we were like how did that go how was that received yeah all of all of a sudden there was near enough an immediate response from the club and a positive one which is is such a good thing to hear because it does show that the disconnects i think between the fans and the club now is bigger than what we may have prior seen even under levy but a simple fact i think there's been the january transfer window certainly i think took any trust out of where the fans in the club felt they sat so all of a sudden I think the club have felt like if the fans are willing to go to the level that we're going to we have to support it and yeah props to the club props to sort of everybody that had to make the decisions obviously the police as well they've been amazing in helping shout out to Haringey Council who give us permission for barriers and stuff as well to keep it safe but yeah overall mate it is I mean crazy what I've worked with Haringey Council I've known how difficult they've been in the past, how, what would you call it?
15How much, how officious they are and how difficult to make things happen. And they don't move as quickly. They don't move this quickly, right? And nor do the club. The Met Police have zero thing, nothing to gain really from allowing, and only more challenges. And the fact that all of this is coming to go, just, I'm absolutely mind blown. I really am. 19:03It's an incredible thing. But from the club as well, you can see it. Their reputation is in question at the moment and will continue to be. This doesn't mean that the criticisms and the questions that people have of how they can move this club forward disappear. They don't. But this helps them, right? It helps them. It helps the club. It helps us all. And creating a unity, which they can demonstrate by being proactive in the transfer market and building the proper structure behind the club. But in the short term, it just seems like a tap-in. And the fact that it's happened so quickly, I think they see that.
43Stu, what's the reaction been to this? Because are people aware that it was your idea? It's a lot of energy that's going to be coming your way. What's it been like? Yeah, I think it's quite out there to obviously say that me and Jay are the main key head figures in this, along with Billy T. Obviously, we have got a good little small group as I keep mentioning, but obviously myself and Jay, we're the ones that have been stuck in the meetings. Billy T's been the one behind the camera doing a lot of the dog work, so to speak. So it's been a real group effort. But yeah, it's been good. Obviously, I was on Sky Sports the other day, obviously plugging it away with Michael Bridge.
25We've been on different podcasts, social medias, newspapers. because it's reached out to an audience more than we ever thought it would be. As Jay elaborated earlier on, we fought a thousand people, great turnout. And now we're potentially looking at double figures. But I'm not kind of looking at it from a personal point of view. Like I'm doing this simply because I want my team to stay in the Premier League. This is what it's all about. Now, the old slogan we've got now, together, you know, that is the be or end of it. We are all together. We're all the same. There's no fan is different than any other fan.
00If you go to a game or you watch it from your armchair, we're all the same. We all have the same thoughts. We all love our football club. And that's what it's all generated from. You know, look, if me and Jay get some applauded at this at the end of it, we're not going to say we won't take it because, of course, we will. But at the same time, this isn't been done for a personal reason. This is simply done to make sure that our football club stays in the Premier League, which is the most key point out of this whole thing. if we can make those players turn up on Sunday and they see us in that street lined up and we give them the extra 5%, 10 % that gets them over that line on Sunday, then me, Jay and all the rest of the boys and the fan base, we've done our job.
40You do not understand how much of a big game Sunday is in really the history of our football club. Do you think it is the biggest, maybe since the Champions League final, for different reasons? I would say Champions League and obviously the Europa League final is definitely there. Yeah, yeah. For me, this game... Go on. Yeah, I've got as far as saying this, as big as 91, the forest final. I think this is on par with the importance to the club. Obviously, I know people are saying, oh, there's still eight games left. There's not eight games against the team that are one point behind us. So I think when we...
17It's not quite set in yet, I think, the realism to certainly anybody that's involved and obviously Harrison, who'd done that amazing Generations video Spurs Army. Yeah, great. And it shows the importance of our stature as a Premier League club is to generations from obviously people like my old man, diehard Spurs fan, travel to underlet in the 80s and you get me that went Frankfurt with Stu dressed up in pink costumes and it just shows and my kids, obviously, my kids are desperate to be there with me tomorrow and I'd love to take them and it's just, yeah, it's just such an important game. I think as a Spurs fan, we've had many big games in our life and we can all say we've had big games.
03I don't think there's any that quite hang so much in the balance of the future and what we're seen as a football club. And I know being relegated isn't the be-all and end-all of the world, but what that does to a club that does have big sponsors, big stadium debts, big players on big wages, it's detrimental. and as you said the extra percentage that these players would feel just seeing the excitement and the happiness and fans faces which they've not seen this season if we're completely honest. Well that's it the relationship with the players has been terrible really and the thing is this it's taken fans to it's taken fans to be the ones to blink first if that kind of makes sense we've had sort of players who do their interviews after a game and apologise eyes it's very easy when you're speaking into a camera screen and you have your thing you go home um for fans fans deal with it seven days a week a footballer kind of goes into work once he shuts off from work he can get home some of them do read social media with with so aware that certain players do read it and i'm not going to sit there and paint myself as the most innocent person i lose my head i get angry i get frustrated which they do but they can't vent as much as a fan can and obviously fans have blinked first and gone do you know what it's been a poor season our standards haven't been met the players understand that the club should understand that but we need to try and all come together now and become the 12th man quite literally the 12th man and it all starts Sunday and obviously we've got 8 cup finals left of the season
48without a shadow of a doubt um and i i think everything that can be done or has been that has been done really i think you know when when the players are on this bus they want to be on the bus um the injured players want to be the bus what what what do you think will greet them stew what how what in your how do you imagine this playing out is it just like a version of Europa League, just smiling faces, cheering these players on, chanting. It's all those things, right? Yeah, all of the above. You know, we've obviously come quite prepared. We obviously have two extremely loud mouths who love to sing songs, start songs on the south stand.
28They're going to be out with a megaphone. So we get the atmosphere songs going. We've also got Bob, the drummer from inside the stadium. Yeah. He's going to be out with us as well. So we just want a real kind of welcome atmosphere, all positive. We want the players to feed off the fans' energy and just give them that little boost. It's not a celebration. It's a, come on, boys, this is business now. We need to look at the fans. Let's see what it means to them and let's make sure we get the job done on Sunday. it's this phrase that that was that's been adopted by the Spurs fans and now you've heard it throughout this all together always we when we were crafting the the letter to the players to the fans you know whatever it is it needed a sign off it needed something that would stick other than like Koi is Daniel you know you know how bad you can get this wrong how bad it could be and then and then I can't remember who it was that came up, or just sort of referred to Romero, the way he signs off his messages, which is, as we know, is all together always.
38And it's really kind of sort of take, because we're thinking like we are with you or something like that, but because those were his words, and they come from statements that cause problems and create division, but from a captain's point of view, come from the right place in that he wants the betterment of Tottenham Hotspur and certainly in the short term. and about how the squad building has gone and the things that he was promised. All the things. It comes from this kind of quite abrasive place but has been now adopted by us all. And if it goes really well on Sunday, this phrase, all together always, could well go into the kind of lexicon of Tottenham folklore.
17And that's kind of what's been missing for this season is that we haven't felt together. And now we do. and you know it's it's not just the work you guys have done and what's going to happen tomorrow but it's the having the buy-in from the club and the buy-in from the players and not only that the buzz and the excitement like i've seen messages from within the club um that have said that they're they are like blown over by the work that's been done this week um and there i just feel like the bridges that are being built at the moment are ones that um that should stand forever they have i don't want to turn this to a negative at all but there have been some criticism from some sections of the spurs as you'll always you always get you can't um you know look in a certain direction without someone saying why you're looking there why are you doing this um and we've been on the end of it for a long long time as well and you get to a point now you stop hearing you stop you stop caring right from our perspective but when you're campaigning it's very different because you're setting out a political stance.
27What's your feeling towards someone who might say, you're giving Enoch too much room here, the pressure should be on, this is the wrong thing to be doing right now? Because I've seen that message out there. Yeah. I mean, obviously, everybody knows what I'm affiliated with. Obviously, the change for something protests last year, I was heavily involved in pushing the message. and I have kind of gone towards the back of it. I'm not as involved as I was. I pushed messages online. But I get a lot of sick. Oh, well, you're somebody that six weeks ago was saying we should be protesting against you. The times have changed.
06And six weeks ago, we were fairly safe. I think that's safe to say. I think six, seven weeks ago, we were maybe nine points ahead of West Ham. We were 11 up front of Forrest. We weren't really in trouble. But then people say, oh well they should be you should be protesting against the ownership at the end of the day if we're there to protest against the ownership there's there's a select group of fans that have the passion to do that and obviously I'm I will remain passionately enic out but at the end of the day my love for this club is bigger than my hate for this ownership and they don't coincide because obviously the more I love the club the more I do hate the ownership because I know what we could be and what we have the potential to be and what I do eventually believe we will be but at the end of the day there's timings on when it should be done and I believe whilst we're in a scrap a fight that we've never been in before that a lot of these players are probably unaware of what the detriment of being relegated from the Premier League means there's not I don't think there's a correct time and obviously I'm grateful Change for Tottenham supported cancelling their protest after the game obviously a lot of people don't agree with that but at the same time if you look at the response that they've had and over the years, it's been a heavy, heavy Enoch out and we got criticised a lot for counselling movements because of certain things happening or fan appetite.
29It's just now to see the support is, I would say, 90 % of the fan base believe in this, getting behind the players. Instead of protesting, the belief is that you're going to have your 10 % that believe regardless it should all be on Enoch, this is why we're there. but that could be summer's focus that could be next season's focus at the moment the only focus from the fan base in my opinion and it's not my place to tell fans how they should feel is my belief is I will do whatever I can that I believe may help these players survive in the Premier League because come summer we could be in a different situation depending on where we finish so it's just sort of taking it as it is but protesting now just wouldn't be the right thing in my opinion no I agree with you it's about timing and it's about priorities at the moment and um you know it's just like I said like you say about staying in that league I don't think no one is ignoring or choosing not to uh you know think about the problems in the football club they're there they don't go away just even you know if we you know beat Forrest handily in a dream world and when we break away from this threat of relegation and there's always there's going to be times for reflection and times for reorder and pressure later on.
48But right now the energy in my opinion, you're right, you can't tell anyone how to feel and everyone has a right to their own opinion. But it feels like and you can see the reaction to this as the right the right thing right now. If you have any thoughts on that. Get in the game with the college branded Venmo debit card. 33:12So good, so good, so good. great prices. That's why you rack. Yeah, it's just basically what Jay was really saying, really, just to obviously, you know, there's a time and a place, you know, none of us are sitting here saying that we've changed how we feel about the owners of the football club. That's not what this is about. This is simply about being a positive effect on the football club and trying to bring us all together just until we're safe. Look, I've always said, when we're mathematically safe or mathematically down, then we can do what you like. We could then flip the switch and you know if you want to start doing the the protest them type of things to show you how you feel about football club then fine but there's some lot of things a protest at the moment is some things that are just bigger than a protest at the moment because going down to the championship is it is the worst case scenario for this football club you know not just for a financial point of view it will put us back even further look I know we've not been the greatest side in the last two seasons in the Premier League.
11But if we go down, you know, we're going to lose the likes of Vuzkovic who will never play for Spurs. We're going to lose a lot of our young top talents that we're hopefully relying on over the next four, five, six, seven years. The Archie Grays, the Lucas Bergfields, you know, them sorts of players. They're the ones we've got to build this football club on. And it's just imperative that we stay in the Premier League. And when the time is right, we can then, like I said, we can do what we have to do to make our feelings felt but obviously i think the guys have done the right thing by canceling the protest and joining what we've done and we do thank them for it you know it's good that we're kind of all on the same page which is what it's all about being together definitely always uh what um what so what what where do people meet what time do they have to be there what's an ideal scenario um yeah so tomorrow uh some of us are getting up there nice and early um flags has done an amazing job obviously he wants some flags to be handed out prior to the meet so the meet we're going to be in the bricklayer's arms from opening so around 10 um but then the barriers are going to be put out i believe now slightly earlier just due to the numbers around 11.55.
28Obviously, we're going to try and get there and start driving this atmosphere up 45 minutes before they're even there. You're going to hear it on the high roads. I want to feel the atmosphere in my chest. The coach is due to arrive at 12.45. So it's going to be lined along from just in front of the bricklayers up towards the Sainsbury, where the memorial is. Obviously, if there is going to be the numbers that are talked then it might have to link down further down to northumberland park roads so it is something we do have to bear in mind because 25 000 people crammed in that bit of street compared to where as i said monday where we thought we were going to be it could be completely different but yes to get there obviously bring the atmosphere um be there be there from as early as you like the earlier the better um and yeah just sort of where your white colours make sure that you're ready to lose your voice on the day because it's going to be one of the biggest days in the fans history certainly and what the fans can generate for this club oh man it's good it's iconic it's it's uh you know this will be long remembered regardless of what happens it'll be it'll be long remembered and and spoken about and the photography and and images that are going to be captured on this day even before kickoff starts will be long long used and long talked about.
50And, you know, this is going to be covered by press. This is going to go all around the world. Like, what is, Stu, and I know you're great at giving Jay credit and the other guys that have been working behind the scenes, and that's great, but this is, you woke up with an idea in your head, and it just shows you what can be done with the right idea. Obviously, not all ideas are worth exploring, but the right idea and the right people behind you and what you guys have done and like credit to every Spurs fan who's going to get down there and just simply sharing messages online and building this momentum.

27It's just, like I say, I'm just the fact that we're in this situation and I've never really, I can't remember the last time I've been proud as well. That's how I feel about it all really. I'm just sort of proud. This is my football club and this is what we can do as a supporter base and a community. and yeah, it's... I just hope we've got to win now. Yeah, I know. We've got to win. And look, if you think about the last time this sort of energy went into it, you know, we were in a bad position last year. There was no real risk of going down, was there? No. And we knew that the club had decided, or Andrew and the players had decided, that, you know, we had to manage van der Ven Romero's minutes so that when they did play, it was in the Europa League run.
13but there was a different energy at Bode Glimt. Like there was a different energy against Frankfurt. There was, you could just feel something change and you felt it this week as well, right? Before we was involved in that letter and before you had the idea, oh no, no, it would have been after the idea but before it kind of starts to show sort of fruition, you felt different at Liverpool and it definitely felt different against Atletico Madrid and that Richarlison goal against Liverpool could have been the turning point. It felt like, you know, if we'd lost both those games, this would have been a lot more difficult, let's be honest.
49But the fact we put in two amazing results, which is everything really. Yeah. I mean, it's the real and I think the evidence was shown last week after Liverpool. The fans were applauded by the club in a way. We've not really seen like, in that aspect, they really pushed on the importance of the away fans. I mean, I didn't go to Athletico myself, watch it on TV. We went out of the Champions League and our players were clapped off of the pitch. I can't remember the last time that I remember the whole stadium, literally 90 % of the... Well, sorry, it wasn't a full stadium, but the people that were there remained after full time to applaud our team for going out such a huge competition, but they were proud of the performance.
39And there's players like Xavi Simmons, who's come in, he's not had the sort of best time since he's come here but he certainly does buy into the fan aspect of how important the fans are and the applause just they can see that this extra fight that they're putting in, the fans are recognising and they're feeding off of each other and obviously it's what's made tomorrow so potentially huge because as Stu said earlier, 5-10 % if we can drum up that atmosphere as they come down the high road drum up the atmosphere as they're going in and then obviously 90 minutes of what our stadium was designed to be a fortress if we can do that we can say we've done our part and yeah it's just surreal and it's emotional I think that's the best way I'll probably shed a tear tomorrow I don't ask that either 7am buzz ball or or just just just everything coming together and obviously it's been an absolute pleasure to work with sort of everybody involved from obviously Stu's idea snowballing into a group of four of us going let's just try it and then obviously you guys with what you guys have done on your side it's the fan base has done this it's not this has been a club incentive to try and drum it up this has all come from the passionate side of how all all of the fan base feels that we should be in a situation but independent as well like you had an idea there was an idea that came from somewhere else and uh and it was all just sort of meshed lovely together to create this melting pot of positivity we find ourselves in um like i say congratulations guys you've done an amazing job and this this could genuinely change our season and um just proud of being a spurs fan right now and your ideas and your work has made made that so much easier so yeah fair play i hope it goes well tomorrow for everyone um and i can't wait to see the images.
33I can't wait to look back and think about it and really celebrate that 4-0 drubbing of Nottingham Forest. Right. Take care, boys. Cheers, mate. Take care.
