0:00I don't take dickfacery. we must ban dickfacery I like this term no dickfacery like you've got to leave the company that looks the other way for revenue drivers that are dickfaces got to apply to other jobs if you don't have the power to change it you've got the power to leave but a lot of people Raghav want to stay in it and complain about it because they don't think they have other options to go somewhere else they fear that they don't have other options because they're not on the offense on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is the poor, like LinkedIn is the potion. LinkedIn is the solve. LinkedIn is the key.

0:43LinkedIn is the opportunity. Make content on LinkedIn around your job, around your subject matter expertise. You'll be stunned by the recruiters coming to you. LinkedIn content will change your life if you want a new job. This is the Gary Vee Audio Experience. Good morning, good morning, good morning. Welcome to Tea with GaryVee, 98. All right, I think I'm ready for questions. Fire away, team. Miguel is asking, I want to start a podcast slash YouTube channel and turn it into a profitable business. Everyone tells me to ask myself, what problem am I solving? But I want to start a podcast about filmmaking as I'm an actor and I don't know how to answer that.

1:24All I know is that I'm passionate about the subject. What advice do you have? One of the biggest problems that many are solving for people when they make content is to escape their challenging reality. It's to bring entertainment value. What was Kevin Hart solving for me on Friday night when I watched his special on Netflix? he was solving an opportunity to bring laughter into my life which i think is a tremendous variable of one's longevity joy on earth you know and so how many people in the chat right now of the 813 of you in here right now how many of you love filmmaking love films love movies love Love filmmaking, love movies, love acting, love those things.

2:15Let me say love movies in the chat. So Raghav, what he's solving for all the people right now that I see confidence, Claudia, Noella, J Billion, he's providing entertainment. Entertainment is a wild value in the world. Music, sports, film. I mean, I would argue that entertainment and escapism is one of the great value props of all time. The end. What's reading a book? What's reading a fictional book? You know what I mean? Like what problem is that solving? It's not solving a problem other than boredom, curiosity. I don't view that as a problem. What contribution are you making? Is a different way to think about what problem are you solving.

3:02What am I doing right now? We're actually problem solving predominantly on people's inability to make money and make happiness. Like what do we do here? We make happiness, we make money, often around forcing people into accountability and optimism. Ayo! That's what we do here. If you don't know what the Ayo is, you haven't been around. Ayo! Ayo! Why do I yell that here on this Tea with Gary Vee and on my live streams on TikTok? It's because the two things that I know is if you're fully accountable, everything is your fault even when it's not, and you're optimistic, Even though everything sucks right now and I've made all the wrong decisions, I'm going to be able to win in the end, right?

3:49The Jets were losing yesterday 14 to seven, Rogoff. They won the game. Eat it, Atlanta. All right? Just because you're, like who likes sports in here? Just because you're losing at halftime, right? Doesn't mean you're done. and everybody in here, like the thousands of people that are almost 1 ,000 people in here this morning, many people are gloomy and sad that it's Monday. Who here is a little bit bummed because they loved having five days off the last five days? Just be honest. Let's be, you know, game review hobbyist. God, you're old. Okay.

4:30God, you're cynical and sad for you to post that and I want you out of that game so stay here with us because I love you big dog and I want you to get old and be happy. How many of you bummed? Say bummed. You know so a lot of people are bummed and I want people to get out of that mindset. Right? I want people to get out of that place. To be bummed on this Monday morning is not the game. It's not what we want. It's not where you want to be and my question is to get out of that you have to be accountable and optimistic. I hate my job so I'm gonna post on LinkedIn all day long right I'm gonna network and connect with people all day long I'm gonna make content about what I know about marketing education filmmaking finances back office legalities and HR I'm gonna make content on LinkedIn right like and that's it so that's what I want for you and I really believe by watching content like this, not just mine, but anybody else who's out there on the internet.

5:40All right, next question. Let's keep it going. Hey everybody, I hope you're enjoying the podcast right now. Make sure you follow the podcast. That's why I'm interrupting. Let's keep going on this show, but follow the podcast. It'll make my mom super happy. Janet asks, how do you find confidence to create content in your 40s? The fuck does the 40s have to do with anything? What do you mean confidence in your 40s to make content? People are insecure to post in 20, at 20. How many of you feel insecure, second guessing yourself, not confident in posting content? Say me and then put a dash and say how old you are.

6:19No, right, everyone still thinks it's high school. Everyone still thinks it's junior high. Look, I started seeing this morning, yep, there it is. this morning I noticed like a little, I mean I'm 50 now and still have this weird little red zit on my nose this morning. What do you think? Like I'm supposed to cry about that? You think I give a crap if somebody in the chat right now is like, oh you got a little pimple on your nose. Like what am I supposed to be crippled? Meanwhile, there's unlimited people. There's unlimited people here who literally are stuck and worried about posting because they're worried about it not getting a lot of views.

6:59or somebody in the neighborhood making fun of them. Friends, anybody who makes fun of you for trying is hurting and is trying to drag you down. Let me, actually, let's go. I'm feeling good. Anybody on earth that makes fun of you for trying is in a crap place themselves and are trying to drag you into their crap. Do you want to roll in crap with a crappy loser? now not a permanent loser someone who is currently crappy losing do you want to roll with them or do you want to ignore that and attack do you want to hang out with happy people or do you want to hang out with sad people a lot of you were forced to hang out with sad people this weekend because they're family and it didn't make you feel good who hung out with a family member this weekend for the holidays who's a Debbie Downer

7:56Like they walked in and this hurts and everyone's dead and politics and the world's just crap. You know, Uncle Johnny was like, it sucks now. When I was growing up, it was awesome. It sucks now. Who the hell sat through negativity this weekend? Bunch of...

8:18It's bad. It sucks. It's not bad. It doesn't suck. They suck. My friends, nothing sucks and nothing is awesome. It's all you. Nothing sucks and nothing is awesome. It just is life. And how you show up is you. Period. Mic drop. Shut your mouth and stop complaining. And pick, ayo, accountability and optimism. Life is how you find it. My friends, life is how you find it. Next question. Fire away, team. Volumsy is asking, is it okay if my parents feel uncomfortable for a while because they think I'm messing up in my life even though I'm building something I'm actually confident in? How can I give them the peace to forget about me for some time?

9:07Not only is it okay, it is preferable for all of you between 15 and 25 that are watching right now to make your parents uncomfortable. Now, some of you may have parents similar to that I got fortunate with where they're supporting you because they believe in you blindly and they're almost like delusionally believers as long as they're not creating entitlement and like paying for your lifestyle. But for many of you that are going against the grain, especially immigrant kids that are doing something different, kids that grew up in a family that overvalues the education system, not education, the education system, and you're doing something creative or entrepreneurial, it is preferable, it is preferable that you make your parents uncomfortable for a period of time and if you win on the other side of it, it's the greatest feeling of all.

9:52And if you lose, tuning out their judgment and then doing something different is the move. Do whatever you want and I expect all 1300 of you at bare minimum to double click the screen right now. Click, click, click, click, click. I want hearts popping. I want the hearts popping. I want the hearts popping. I want the hearts popping. And share the show. Everybody share the show right now. Ask your questions. Next question team, T with Gary V. Thank you for being here. Team Matt from the chat asks, I'm terrible at interviews no matter how many I go on. Any advice? I'm terrible at interviews no matter how many I go on.

10:25Any advice? I've hired a lot of people that have been terrible at their interview because I could just see they're overly nervous but I feel they could do their job. I think you have to go into every interview with the mindset of you're not going to get the job. Thus, this is a little reverse psychology here. You're not going to get the job. Thus, you're not scared to lose the job. thus you're more your normal self. I mean, Train was super nervous in his interview with me, right Train? I was, I was on so much caffeine to stay away from that drive. Right, you took a long drive. So, but like, it didn't like affect the way I saw him and you know, sometimes bosses see that, sometimes they don't.

11:04Interviews are interviews, you know, I just think that people get nervous because they're scared to lose. You're nervous to ask out a girl because she might say no. You're nervous in a job interview because you might not get it. I just think that you need to go the other way and think about you're gonna get nothing and then when you get it, it's a surprise, it feels awesome, it's a win. Turley's asking, I'm 59 and I've just lost my job. I hear everything you say, I know it's possible, but at this age, it's really unimaginable. Is there anything out there that might be suitable for this cohort to create and come online?

11:34You know, again, I think there's so much available to a 59-year-old. You know, I just don't, I don't know why people, you know, I don't know why people just believe it's over, right? I don't know. I just, I don't see it. I don't see. Raghav, I don't know why 59 has anything to do with it. Like, yes, do I believe there's many places that will not hire that person because they're like, oh, you're old. Someone just said you don't look well. To me right now. That's because, you know, as you get older, you know, Raghav, I'm not doing that plastic surgery life. I'm not doing the Botox filler thing. it's just not about that.

12:16So when they see this, like, oh, you know, the gray, like, no, no, I just, you know, like, you know, I don't know, like I'm Eastern European. Go look at my content. The raccoon eyes were there at 33. I've been old. Like, you know, like it is. Crew mom started my TikTok shop at 56 and make more money now than my nine to five. Like live shopping right here, here, right? TikTok live, affiliate on TikTok. Just like applying to 100 jobs. I don't know why people continue to worry. You know, like, yes, there are disadvantages to anything. Thank you, Real Jane. You know, I don't know. Like, I don't know what to tell people.

12:59Like, there's unlimited people getting jobs at 59 today. Thousands of people who are 59 years old got hired today. Like, what do you want from me? Like, that's real talk. Like, thousands of people. that are 59 years old, you know? I don't know. I just, I don't understand why people continue to choose negativity. And, you know, if you hear, like I love how that question was asked. I hear what you're saying. No, you don't. You're definitely not hearing me. You've consumed what I've said, but you've decided to look the other way. There's unlimited opportunities right now. With ChatGPT you can learn everything in two seconds with AI.

13:45You can be an expert. I don't know, man. There's too much opportunity. Let's get to the next question. When you were talking about content, Marcela asked in the chat, how does one stop giving a fuck about what people think when they're starting something new and different? You know, it's the same questions over and over, Nerea. If you were born into a family that overvalues neighbors' opinions, it's hard to break that habit. but you need to understand that it's real. Like, I don't know. Like, you gotta stop listening to other people. Like, I'm telling you, it's high school and junior high. It's peer pressure.

14:20It's all that stuff. Should I drop out after my first year of college to become an electrician? Trent, do you want to? Like, do you want to become an electrician? Everybody's putting the name of the app in the chat, everyone. There it is, Steven. Thank you. Download it. Next question, everybody. Margie asks, how can we move away from hostile workplaces to one that actually follow their own policies of employee well-being and anti-bullying? It seems as though those who bring in revenue can act any way they like, especially those in higher rank. How can this be shifted to well-being for all? You gotta quit.

14:57The only way it shifts is when the leader's right.

15:03The only way it shifts is when the leader is right. my biggest compliment is how I run this company. You know, VaynerMedia, VFriends, you guys know. You guys know that I don't tolerate dickfacery, right? We know that. You guys know that I'm hypersensitive to even a little bit. Raga, Norea, you guys are grownups. You know how weird I am on something that every company would think is minor. You know when new people, Raga, especially when you hit the floor, not on the cocoon of Team Gary. You saw it different. It was a little more corporate. Right? But even there, it was way better than other places.

15:43And you saw new people come into the company and say positive things. It's because I don't take dickfacery. We must ban dickfacery. I like this term. No dickfacery. You've got to leave the company that looks the other way for revenue drivers that are dickfaces. Got to apply to other jobs. If you don't have the power to change it, you've got the power to leave. But a lot of people, Rogoff, want to stay in it and complain about it because they don't think they have other options to go somewhere else. They fear that they don't have other options because they're not on the offense on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is the poor, like LinkedIn is the potion.

16:27LinkedIn is the solve. LinkedIn is the key. LinkedIn is the opportunity. Make content on LinkedIn around your job, around your subject matter expertise, you'll be stunned by the recruiters coming to you. LinkedIn content will change your life if you want a new job. This is why all of you need to go live on TikTok. Watch this. You ready? Everybody, how many of you have just stumbled on this stream? You've never seen me before. You have no idea who I am and you're enjoying the crap out of this and you're enjoying it and now you're gonna be a follower. Say, that's me. How many of you have never seen me?

17:03Forget about follow me. I'm talking about ever seen any piece of content of me. Ever seen any piece of content from me. Of any kind. And you're here and you're enjoying it. Say that's me. Look at this. Look at this. And how many of you have seen one or two videos of me? You weren't sure. You kind of liked it. Maybe you did like it. Maybe you didn't like it. But now you're here for 30 minutes, 20 minutes, and you're really enjoying it. Say I'm that person. Say I'm that person. OG Game Show. I'm selling VFriends stuff, but not really. Nobody needs to buy anything here, but I like having stuff in the store for people that want to get into the next Pokemon, the next Marvel.

17:39It's called VFriends. I'm the builder of it. All right, let's keep it going, everyone. I have a question from the chat. Been posting for a whole year at this point, but the followers still around 200. What should I do? Post different stuff. Go to GaryVee... slash attention. I put out a 44-page deck there to help you. Let's keep this moving, everyone. Love having you all here. Axel is asking, I'm young, I work in construction. It gives me good money, but I hate it. To get out, I've developed a gambling problem, so now the money I make goes to the casino. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Plus 10 years.

18:12Brother, I'm so proud of you for saying this out loud. Axel, I'm so proud of you, bro. Axel, I'm crazy proud of you. You've already gone to the first part. You publicly said you have a gambling problem. You need to go to Gamblers Anonymous. You need to get help. Gambling is the worst. The worst. When you have a gambling problem. Casual gambling, just like casual wine drinking, like casual anything, is amazing. But when you go into problem land, everything's a problem. People are like, oh, gambling's the worst. That's why I defined it here. Well, food is the worst if you eat way too much of it and you don't have a good relationship with it.

18:47Right? If you're eating food and you're throwing up in the bathroom because you want to stay a certain shape or size, guess what? That's bad. Sugar. Sugar had me on lock, Raghav, for a while. Had to break it. It was hard. You know, so, Axel, you're halfway home. The fact that you could admit it. There's a lot of people watching right now that have a problem that can't admit it. The fact that you've already admitted, I'm so proud of you. Let's clap it up for Axel. Axel, you're this close. Axel, you're this close. Go get more help and understand that, see what happened, Raghav, there was hates job, finds another outlet, big trouble.

19:30You see what's happening? This is why I want to get everybody out of hate job. Notice that we said hate job, good money. Love job, not good money, live within your means, amazing life. Hate job, good money, gambling. You understand? Hate job, good money, alcohol. Hate job, good money, drugs. Got it? Got it? hate job, good money, can't sleep, pressure on my chest. Love job, average, below average money, live within the means of that money and don't care what everybody says about your house, your car, your clothes, happy life.

20:19What made you unhappy in middle school and high school is making you unhappy as an adult and you can't see it. You value the opinions of people you don't even like.

20:35You value the opinions of people you don't even like. What?

20:44It's whisper time. We're in here now. We're going, we're doing it right now. We're going whisper. Friends, we're going whisper. Look at my eye. I need you to look in my eye. We're going so real right now. You, Maury says why are we whispering? Maury, we're whispering for effect. We're whispering for effect. I need you to all look in my eye.

21:14You are valuing the opinion of people you don't even like and you don't even wanna be like. you're stuck in seventh grade. You're stuck in seventh grade. You're stuck in seventh grade. And that's it motherfuckers. That's where we're at. And I'm here to pull you out. And really I'm not. I can't pull you out. You can pull yourself out. I'm just trying to be like a little how many people here have gotten positive value from my content in your life? Say in my life in the chat. Jason Craig says it's usually deeper than that. Not really, Jace. It's the opinions of people that you don't like. It's things that happen with your parents.

22:01A lot of you are trying to change your parents when you can't change someone else. You know? A lot of you are trying to change your parents because you don't even see it yet, but you're replicating their behavior that you don't admire. Very common. It's really not that deep. People want it to be deep. We've decided we want to make it deep. It's actually wildly simple. Life is about self-esteem, accountability, perspective, gratitude. Life's simple. We've made it hard. All right, let's keep answering people's questions this morning. While you were talking about the self-esteem whole thing, Bandita in the chat asked, why can I teach my kids for them not to be part of the system?

22:41To get them into losing culture. Parents are trying to get kids into avoidance of losing. Get kids into losing culture. I like wrestling, jiu-jitsu, MMA, fighting, boxing. I really like the mano a mano thing for both boys and girls. Sports, love it. With school, if they get bad grades, don't go fighting their fights. Get out of your kid's business. Let them go outside. Don't watch them every second. Call them out on their bull crap. Don't tell your kids you can do anything. Tell them that they can try anything and then they'll find out if they're good at it. stop the over coddling get your kids comfortable with losing get them used to losing get them to enjoy losing get them comfortable with losing skinning knees get them to eat dirt that's how you get kids out into the system don't put grades on a pedestal the education system is not real life we all know it everyone knows it don't put grades on a pedestal put work ethic on a pedestal put merit on a pedestal.

23:52Thank you so much, Common Sense with Brian for following me this long. Baltimore man, my man. Gary, I'm in a slump, but I'm putting myself up, going every day because of you. I'm better for it. Thank you, brother. I want that for you, Dylan Barber. Bro, we're all in slumps, and none of us are in slumps.

24:12Every one of us is in a slump. Every one of us is not in a slump. The question is, do you believe you're in a slump? is it a slump or is it like a tiny little bump in the road? I feel like my mindset is so nuts that if like my arm got cut off I'd be like damn that's too bad. And be like yo I'm fucking one arm Gary V I can't be stopped motherfucker. In fact I'd be bigger if I was one arm Gary V cause I'd be different. I'd be like yo what's good? What's good? I could still throw up the five like I don't know like sure I'd be upset

24:50but it's what happened. I shouldn't have fucking done that chainsaw fucking magic trick. You know, like I don't know. I feel like a lot of people are all screwed up because it's a bump on the road and they're treating it like terminal cancer. This is what happens when you don't get comfortable with losing as a kid. and if your parents over coddled you say over coddled if you're if you're like 20 to 35 because that's the range a lot of you are in say over coddled i got something good i got something good for y 'all say over coddled own it if your parents try to protect everything eighth place trophies yelled at your teachers for you try to get in your business here it comes yeah and by the way nothing wrong with that your parents your parents tried to make it awesome for you i actually admire parents that over coddled because I know it came from a good place.

25:48They just got caught in that era where we didn't call it out. We lost our way. We were not, we weren't red, we weren't you know, we weren't, whether we were red or blue, the answer is always purple. Whether we were red or blue, the answer is always purple friends. Whether we were red or blue the answer is always purple, hence purple and V friends. You've got to find the middle. You understand? A lot of parents over corrected. Their parents ignored them, never went to their games, never did anything nice, so they over-coddled. All right, who was over-coddled? Because I got great news. You're now grown and you can get comfortable with losing.

26:29You can now take on A-O, accountability and optimism. A-O, A-O. Be accountable that you're now grown and it's not your parents' job anymore to fix this and choose optimism that you're gonna start doing shit. If you're over coddled, go take karate. Real talk, go take jiu-jitsu. I mean this, I'm being real simple. If you can afford it and you feel you're over coddled, go take jiu-jitsu. Let them beat you up a little. All right, let's keep it going. Let's answer people's questions. You give so much time and energy to everyone. What do you do when you feel taken advantage of? And secondly, what is something that makes you feel the most valued and appreciated?

27:08I feel valued and appreciated just by nice engagements. You know, just like kind words, warmth. You can't be taken advantage of when you're giving.

27:22What? It's whisper time. If you're actually giving, if you're actually giving, you can't be taken advantage of. If you're actually giving. Uh-oh. Now we're getting into something deep. The reason I've never felt taken advantage of Raghav is because I'm actually giving. And when you're giving, you expect nothing in return. Mm-mm, mm-mm, mm-mm, right? You know? Mm-mm. If you're actually giving,

28:04if you're actually giving, you can't be taken advantage of. Giving is giving without expectation. Michael Gonzalez, right? So that's it. It's as simple as that. Like, you're never taken advantage of if you're giving. When you're giving, you're giving. Thank you so much, Stitcher, for picking that up. All right, let's keep going. Happy in the chat said, I just got laid off. What are the top things you will do in my situation? I would create a LinkedIn account, make content on LinkedIn about whatever I do, landscaping, barber, electrician, SaaS salesman. I would just make unlimited content, videos, stories, things I've learned, top three things I've learned in my career so far, the time I learned this, this is what I'm seeing in the market.

28:53And then I would also connect with the president, CEO, or owner of 50 to 100 businesses in the category that I'm trying to get a job in. I see being I struggle with candor. How do I start without going overboard? I call it kind candor. Raghav, you and I worked on 12 and a half. I talked about it at length. I struggled with candor too. Once I called it kind candor, it got going. It got going. Once I understood that I could be, like it really just got in my head that once I got that going, it really got me going. Next question. We got from hearing, if you lost your voice, your platforms, your identity, and have to rebuild silently without content, without exposure, then how would you create impact in a world that only listens to the loud?

29:38The world listens to the quiet all the time. When you impact one, I would go volunteer at a shelter. You're creating impact for 20, 30 people. Like, impact is not predicated on reaching millions. In fact, impact is predicated on reaching one person. There are people that have tons of followers that have impacted them very little. And there are people who have 500 followers who've impacted all 500 people immensely. And that's just a very cynical negative point of view and confusion in that question. And I say that with love. Like, if you're looking for impact, you don't need to do it out loud and in public.

30:26You can do it for one person. Impacting one person is meaningful. Keep going. Mike asks, what are your thoughts on AI in the interview process? Do you need the human component to evaluate prospective candidates? Yeah, I think I'm a big believer in and. I think AI and human is going to be a big factor and that's where I'm at. I think humans will be part of the interview process. I think some companies will hire through full AI and both will work. I think it's and, not or. Everybody, thank you for joining me today. I'm gonna end it right now and make sure you follow, all right? Love you, have the best day.
