In short
This episode is a post–World Cup football rant and debate, focused on Spain winning the final and Argentina’s perceived “dark arts” and poor sportsmanship. The hosts argue Argentina were disgraceful, claim refereeing decisions and violent incidents (including a punch/sucker punch at the final) were disgraceful, and say Spain dominated the final (no shots on target for Argentina). They also criticize the third-place match as a pointless, money-driven FIFA earner, and debate golden boot rules where goals in the “non-game” still count. They discuss England manager Thomas Tuchel: claims include he’s doubled down publicly, possibly wants to be sacked, and is stubborn about squad/selection (e.g., Saka fitness comments, Watkins not used, questioning why certain players like Cole weren’t given minutes).
Notable examples
Spain’s subs (Nico Williams, Pedri), England’s non-game vs France, and Tuchel’s post-match comments.

Didn't have any I'm done that done that ready yet I'm glad you got it in my last good job I'm going to get a medium fucking hell I've got a t-shirt on underneath that that's why is that under armour is that under armour get in hell hey smart that man hey hey how lovely nice that cheers pal no problem thank you very much pal thank you very much what a treat that is and do you know what's interesting about that watching him undo the gifts right he's a straight in kind of guy when you get your presents on your birthday or christmas day and you look at them do you go smallest to biggest what do you do do you open what you think is going to be your best present i ask whoever's given a presence which one to open first yeah that's a good point yeah oh do you yeah because a lot of different sizes and stuff and they'll go which one first but would you sooner start with the like all right them's my socks and And then, oh, do you want to go big straight away?
4:18I'm going with a smaller one first, yeah. I do smaller first. But sometimes the smaller prints are better, aren't they? They are. They mean a bit more. I've said that a few times, you two, haven't you?
4:28Nicky:You know what's making me so happy? Can't stop looking at that egg steamer. And he's going, oh, it's brilliant. Brilliant. How long has that debate been raging? Egg steamer. And he's bought us the very one he's talked about, and it's called an egg steamer. I can't believe it, isn't it? There you are, folks. and what a way to do it. So he was right. You know what I think though, Nicky? That's our World Cup win. That's us. We've won the World Cup there, haven't we? But he's not been like Argentina on a bad sport as he's actually and accepted that he was wrong. This is a very silly question but who were you supporting?
5:04In España. Oh. Only people in Argentina were supporting Argentina. And I've got to say and I'm not really but when I say I was delighted that Spain won that World Cup it's an understatement because dirty filthy dark arts getting them to the final I was delighted Simeone get him in the bin and his dad granddad and future children
5:39Nicky:he got right on my pip if you take Messi out of that team they've got to be the most hated team ever I'd go with that it's like what Paddy says the dark hearts it's just but they start off like that it's not as if something riles them do you know something though it's just right from the first whistle do you know something though I think the referees have got to have some answers about that because they should have nailed that down a good few games ago the way they were kicking people off the ball I mean some of the stuff they're doing it's just ridiculous where was he from that referee I don't know was he Columbia did you see his spray go off by accident no no what the foam yeah the foam he was putting it in his back dinging it fucking went all over the Spanish players I've fucking seen it it just blurted out you see the lad at the final whistle he's walking near the centre circle and the Spanish subs are running on celebrating biggest moment of their life yeah and he's digged one of them in the ribs was it Rodri he punched no it was one of the subs he had a bib on it he's gone bang right his ribs and he's running past I'm going number one how do you do listen I got sent off quite a few times in the heat of the moment you make a wrong decision it was never about getting beat it was about the lads kicked me or slapped me in the back of the head or something you react retaliate but to punch someone in the ribs when they're running past you sucker punch someone like that it's just fucking disgraceful that I think I'm sorry Paddy I think the Spanish players should be really applauded the way they didn't react to it just let it go I think they did react to it well but not that you would do in the stomach if someone punched me in the stomach I'm running past you're turning right back at them anyone would You'd turn on and knock them out.
7:11Nicky:Well, anyone would. You would do, wouldn't you? It's ridiculous. And as well, I think a World Cup final, no one likes losing, right? But you've got to have a bit of class about you. Like, you've lost 1-0, but you were actually dominated. No shots on target. You were absolutely hammered by Spain. Do you know something, though? Just like... It was a terrible performance. Turning your back when they're going up. Do you know what the sad thing for them is? I love Messi so it's sad having him involved with them players but if you look at what they did against Egypt they had so much applause for that game they come back from basically a defeat the team spirit everyone's going what a team spirit I'm a big in them up but when they do all they go over that they were lucky to get through that they go over that boundary and you're thinking you're just always that in my case it's fucking ridiculous but nothing will come of it I remember when Oli Gunnar did that I don't know if you remember but I think it was against Newcastle the counter attack against United when they booted him Ollie booted the lad he was clear through on goal and we're as players going he took 1.15 there well done on him he got annihilated in the changers afterwards we don't win like this we don't listen to how we win football games he was literally out of it I like that I do like that and yeah we all make mistakes we all always set the mark at time but I just thought it looked disgusting after the game last night it was disgusting that's just it's a shame really because they can play good football do you know what I mean but I think they felt the only way they could win that game last night was being horrible and it makes you more angry with the England Argentina game it makes you more angry at England for why do you know with the celebration sorry I called it if they run in the face and celebrate into Argentina lads I get it I get that they react but they're not even going anywhere near the Argentina they run after their own players and their own fans and if Argentina had won it they'd have been all over them oh absolutely just I know this is all hypothetical but if we'd have got past Argentina I can't see us beaten that Spain team no I can't but I think we'd have given a better shot on Argentina we didn't get that position I think that's the big disappointment I know we're going to get onto that in a bit but you look at the subs that Spain made when they took two defenders off they brought on Niko Williams and Pedri and you're thinking that's two really aggressive attacking players Pedri was unbelievable when he came on with the ball Niko Williams does some nice stuff not so nice stuff but attacking players to go and win the game I was buzzing for them honestly I was I was buzzing and do you know what I liked as well all the the last lot lads who'd won it the World Cup for Spain all Saturday did you see that they kept going yeah it was good wasn't it Pujol and Ramos and Xavi and Ester well a bad team was it oh unbelievable everything everything about if you're a a fan of the game you've been watching the World Cup I can't I just can't see anyone not wanting Spain win that final just because of what we were saying about Argentina earlier on what you said I agree I was like I know it was controversial the win over Egypt but I was like God what a team they're dying for each other I think that's the right word team I don't think I think England and France have probably got better individual players than Spain but they play like a team that's the big word Rodri how good was he I'll tell you one of the highlights of that final and all were watching Argentina sat right in watching Spain ping it up out in front of them I thought oh now you know how it feels oh you were loving that the other night 10 men what do you think of the half time thing?
10:53Now obviously it's gone viral with Wazza going crap you had to be there, do you know what I thought seriously about looking at it, firstly this is the thing about I think you were saying before because they won the rings so it's like quite an American thing you were saying Gaz had said whatever country you're in and I do like that idea but what they can't do is do a longer half time because that's just ridiculous
11:26and the water breaks have got to go now they've got to go but the extended break if they'd have brought someone out doing a couple of songs for exactly the right time and off I don't think anyone would have been as I think they should have done it if they're going to have to do that they should have done it before the game before they get because we're not used to that we're 15
11:48Nicky:what are they doing you're stiffening up aren't they really I wouldn't like to be there for half an hour the thing with me is I get it because it's Americanised and the commercial I get why they're doing it but you're right even if they dragged it an extra 5 minutes 20 minutes it took Madonna 5 minutes to get out from where they was onto the pit that were pre-recorded what was it it were all pre-recorded how weird was it the only bit I was watching is this AI is this fucking real what's going on do you see no and he's like no no you see Ali G as well Ronaldinho Ronaldinho Ali G but at least Ronaldinho was vibing yeah because it went in that tunnel and it was a pre-recorded thing at Madonna and the only bit it was live when she and I don't know where she was when she came out and did two lines and it went off.
12:34But the mad thing for me is I saw Coldplay and never saw them sing. I saw Chris Martin. At the end. Amongst all the kids.
12:42Nicky:I think he organised it all didn't he Chris Martin? I think he organised the whole show. The kids were good though weren't they? Brilliant. Muppets were great. Ted Lasso was good. I loved Ted Lasso. Ted Lasso was brilliant. I loved it. Them too. Again another great performer. Was that live? That was live. Another great performer as well Justin Bieber but oh whoa you don't do a slow song no half time show Kira was brilliant miming miming she's great though isn't she I don't think it'll happen again Paddy can't be half an hour do you know when you talk about rings and stuff because it's America yeah if it was in England what would we do what would be ours brew mug a brew mug probably maybe fucking pot of tea I don't know box of tea bags that doesn't actually offend me that because as long as they've got the troves it's like a little extra bit That's what I'm saying.
13:31Nicky:I like that. It's a culture of the country, right? What would be the English equivalent? No idea. An ex-steamer. An ex-steamer. Probably a box when you open up, it's just fucking disappointment. A box of disappointment. Disappointment, upset. Messi misses out on the golden boot. Kylian Mbappe takes it because he scored 10. Messi scored 8. But them two goals that got him the golden boot were in the game against England in the non-game game. now surely that if you're out you're out if you're still in that main competition for the World Cup that's when your golden goals count unfortunately it's just part of the World Cup it is a game yeah it's a game they've always done it so you can't change it now you can't have the game saying it's an important game obviously they're making a lot of money off the back end FIFA but you can't have a game like that and say it's an important game however your goals don't count for the total tally it's got to be either a game or it's not a game that's where I'm at with it I do get it because it's more of a false game where everyone's going attacking it's not really that great but you can't say from one side of the coin that it's a game for the World Cup third and fourth but your goals don't count well if that alright just hear me out on my argument with that if that if France and England were playing that game but it was the semi-final that scoreline wouldn't have been that scoreline no obviously yeah but absolutely not that's my point so you you argue like where Mbappe got them goals Messi's against Spain who I don't think they conceded did they in the World Cup they didn't lose one goal one goal I mean but I think they can't dilute it themselves by saying they'll dilute that game even more us as fans know what that game is it's a fucking pointless exercise for everybody none of them wanted to be no one wants to be in there but they're making probably 10-15 million out of it at FIFA so they can't dilute it themselves by going your goals don't count it just kills it you could argue the point in a Premier League when you're playing for nothing at the end of the season you're playing against a team that can't go down or can't win out and you can't and Paul's goal scores three goals and ends up being the highest goal scorer in the Premier League you can't really do it if it's a game it's a game and that's pretty much it go into that France-England game as well Saka oh yeah that's mind-blowing for me I'll try my best in this podcast to stay relatively calm he's wound me up again and Rice though Rice played that's just got my gut I forgot all about that do you hear what Tuchel said I just had a feeling about Rodgers he was going to have a great game that sounds like remember Neil Warnock my wife had a dream about a lad who was going to play the day after and scored and he played him and I think he actually might have scored I don't know how true that is but it feels like down that road a bit doesn't it every England fan's jaw in the country at the floor when he said that it's Saka's fit and I could have played him it's like the Irene Drew he won that isn't it when we played for England how can you say that even if you think it don't go saying it live on air I think and I really like the manager as I've said on air before I think his comments since the game have actually made it worse than the actual performances about saying it's not in the English DNA and stuff and you're part of that DNA now Thomas you've got to do you know what I mean Did Rice come off injured in the game against Argentina or just knackered I think he was just knackered wasn't he and another one he said no regrets again I think English people love having a go at you when you're on top right it's just part of our thing and the press and everything else but what they love even more is someone who holds their hands up and goes drop to bollock exactly he hasn't done that he's actually doubled down he's doubled down he's gone on the offensive and he's blind players a lot and that is something our manager would never do we would always talk that way he would never come out he blame us yeah behind closed doors because it was in training ground in meetings you can ball at you but in the public never but I think Thomas Tuchel he's got a bit of a history of this when football clubs hmm he blames players all the time he falls about falls out with sporting directors you're just wondering with the way he's been speaking do I want to get sacked to me that's so sometimes they've got a way around doing it.
17:56He was booed in the stadium. I believe so, yeah. That's quickly. In the third, fourth place. That's just a reaction. That'll probably go away, won't it? I think it's just a reaction to what happened last week.
18:11Nicky:Do you think, though, again, he's obviously an honest coach and he says his piece and he says what he thinks, but do you think the PR who works with him, obviously they have a big PR staff members at the FA. So I think they should be saying, coaching him into what to say. If you're going to stay on this job, Thomas, you need to say this, this and this. I don't think he cares. He's of the stats and he's had big jobs where he's done. He's not bothered. He's not going to have someone say what he wants him to say. I get that, but I would imagine they're leading the right direction. So he wants to stay honest, which it looks like he does want to stay honest.
18:44Nicky:He has to play the game a little bit. Weirdly, that's one of the reasons before that semi-final, I like Tuchel because I just thought oh he's an absolute wild guy me too I quite like him he just says whatever he says but if you're working for the FA it's a total different job to working in a club in a club you pretty much can control the manager of the men's England team you've got people to answer within the FA and I just think different if he wants to leave say what you want but when you want to stay on for another two years however long it's going to be the things he was saying though it's hard to come back from that it seems to indicate that he does want to leave from the stuff he was saying because it was quite because it is hard it is hard to come back and I didn't realise until yesterday when I heard someone talking about it how much he fell out with people at football clubs he's been at you think about it he's not been at clubs for very long has he PSG Borussia Dortmund Bayern Munich yeah he falls out with people and maybe he's just engineering his way out the other thing the biggest fear for me because we were talking about it on here the other week with Jimmy Wunkwood but I even though I was and it'll take me a long time to get over that semi-final loss and I'm fuming but I still think right he's there keep him on but I worry that he's stubborn a bit like the hammering factor where this you know I'm not having it and the more people say it the more they double down and they just won't change their mind yeah managers are stubborn aren't they especially when they've been that level easy yeah but if you're a good manager surely at some point you've got to go like an Ancelotti you know you don't see him doing all that I think he made quite a few changes I don't think he was that stubborn in his ways formation and players wise he wasn't afraid to bring people in was he the biggest mistake was his substitute substitute and his squad and his squad in the first place his squad right the start if you remember right at the very start Nick he thought that's a weird squad and it's like well the horse is bolted now shut up lad stop going about it but you look at the squad you're thinking he brings defenders on well he's not really got that many attacking options to go on anyway apart from obviously Rashford and for me Watkins should have been brought on but even that 10-roll that you're on about with Palmer and Foden at home they must be sat at home thinking what am I doing here I'm holding my feet up I should be there playing trying to get us to win the World Cup well what another strange decision because Watkins as you say came into it in brilliant form he'd had a great end to the season and then he starts Ivan Toney the night it was the biggest shock of getting in the squad really and again two minutes a game you're like what are you doing I'll tell you something he would have lost a lot of players in that dressing room really because I'm looking at it from my point of view in the dressing room if I'd have been treated like some of them players and I mean good players you'd be thinking I don't want to play I love my country I want to play for my country every moment I get it's the proudest moment in my life going to play for my country however I don't want to play for him that'll be a few people a few players will be saying that I guarantee you can I ask you a question on that in case I've missed it is Cobby injured?
21:49well he was injured that's why he wasn't in the squad he said he got injured in the last bit now look he can pull a fast one I don't expect Cobby to do it because he'll want to play football because I just thought that game against France that's where we'd see him I get it and I'm never going to say Cobby's I've never seen him before I'm never going to say Cobby no I know that but I'm saying that's why I thought oh well he'll chuck him on against France
22:12Nicky:I'm not going to say he's chucked one in Cobby or anything like that with no one really know that apart from himself but does he really want to go and play in that game you said for England I think there'll be a few players fuming with the managers fuming now look it happens all the time even when there's a squad of 22 there's going to be players who go to a World Cup who don't get involved but there's a way of doing it and sometimes you can half understand it if your team's doing all right but he was crying out for a player who can take the ball yeah control the game of football and he wasn't even given a sniff and look Stubbornness Cobb would be fine if the team are playing well oh yeah we're good yeah yeah I can understand not playing but when your team's playing that bad they didn't play well right throughout the tournament let's have it right and his full-back's going into midfield yeah Riley it felt like it was anything but Cobb yeah anybody but Cobb and like Scores I can understand if he got on for 20 minutes previous game and I had a shocker and someone's going he's not up to speed he's not been playing much at United sorry he had played since he left United in the end of the season to go to England he's not really playing any football I get it but he's not even had a sniff Do you know when you look at the players individually like let's just compare our team to Spain I think we've got better players now it might sound fucking stupid that but I think we've got better players in Spain Individually Individually but our biggest issue and this isn't an issue just for this World Cup even when we were playing we're not it's not a team do you know what I mean I don't feel like everybody's too concerned about their own performance, I think.
23:45I think we've got some brilliantly talented footballers, but very selfish. And I know we won that game against France, and like you say, you could say it's a non-game. But a real thing for me was, firstly, as you love it when I say I'm at home, on my own. I was at home on my own again. And I thought, I was having a personal protest. I went, not watching that game. I'm done. Have your kids moved out or something? no they're in fucking bed we're on a bit late so I'm going I get the bed times done so you weren't home alone actually your kids were in bed no but you know I'm on the couch on my own and I thought not watching that and then one of the lads fucking hell two now I thought but my point is this right we're 4-0 up and they come back to 4-3 that to me was the main thing I take away from even though we won how do you go 4-0 up and let them back in?
24:44Nicky:It's a nonsense game. No, but still. Nobody wanted to play the game. When you've got the French players on live TV, national TV, saying we don't want to play no one's playing this game. The manager said it in his press conference. And it's like, it's ridiculous. Why do they play it then? Well, it's obviously a big, massive earner. You need to have a third, don't you? I think you need to have a bronze medal. And it's an earner for FIFA. I don't think you do. No, I don't think you do. In a cup competition, it's runner-up and winner. There's only one thing this World Cup's been about. Money. Money, innit?
25:12Making dosh. It's ridiculous. The prices of tickets are started this morning. It's pathetic. This week on Joe Marlow, We'll See You Now, we had Prince Harry. An actual Prince of England was on. Did it go to plan? Sort of. Kind of? None of the plan panned out. Chuckle vision, chuckle chuckle vision. Chuckle vision. Down, down, down. Front hand bag? No, the back's a disgrace. It's like the eye of that thing from Lord of the Rings. The eye of Sauron? Yeah, that's what it's like.
25:44Nicky:You pitched at this as a couples therapy thing. Sometimes I don't feel like I'm hurt. That's all I'm saying. Washing machines live longer with... Calgon. Yeah! Prince Harry on Joe Muller Will See You Now is out now. Watch it on YouTube or Spotify or listen to it wherever you get your podcasts.
26:08Now it's time for another instalment of a game inspired by the World Cup. Paul and Nicky are going to try two different foods from different World Cup countries and they have to pick a winner. This is Midnight Snack, powered by our friends at midnight, the betting app that's built different. So, we've got the World Cup final right in front of us here, lads. I think we're all trying this because there's three forks I can say. Argentina. What are we going for first? And Spain. so Spain some people call this an omelette other people call it a tortilla Spanish omelette tortilla
26:42Nicky:tortilla eh tortilla how is it spelled well I don't know I thought tortilla was like a wrap thing isn't it yeah tortillas are the crispy triangles in it no that's a Spanish omelette that's a fucking Doris it's a Spanish omelette to English that's a Spanish omelette no that's a tortilla it's a Spanish omelette you go to any any Spanish restaurant it'll say tortilla it won't say fucking Spanish omelette well it won't say fucking in front of it that's a dead set I've been to a Spanish restaurant and it's a Spanish omelette which one did you go to? it's called a baco I have a Spanish omelette it's got like potatoes in it it's hot to you I've been to a Spanish restaurant as well I just want to put it out there she said that do you have fucking a pie?
27:25tapas tapas you know what I have if I'm at a tapas I have the little meatballs in the thing yeah I could have guessed that could have guessed that and then I have ribs short rib just short rib what's wrong with fucking ribs you said that as well I said fucking sausage roll Bill's restaurant yeah honestly the El Gato Negro it's brilliant they do like a short rib see
27:48Nicky:get the menu up on El Gato let me know what they call that Spanish omelette or tortilla I don't think they have it no I've not seen it they do I have had it yeah or Porto go to Porto Spanish fucking Spanish would you have your are we trying it anyway yeah I'll cut it into little things for you though I'd have that A little splash of extra virgin oil on top and a pinch of sea salt. Who has fucking oil on top of a fucking omelette? It's from Gartonham. Fucking extra virgin oil. I know he has a go at me about playing golf at Presbury. I was born in Manchester. And he's eaten fucking potato tortilla, lads.
28:18Yeah, so he's got potatoes in it, see? Spanish omelette.
28:21Nicky:0161, my phone number. Here we go. Let's share that. That's lovely. I love a tortilla. Spanish omelette. I think if I lived in Spain, I'd be happy I don't think I've had a lot of How good is that? How good is that? You know that He's going to fucking insult him I was just going to say Apart from squid I love squid I'm not a fan of squid I love squid And calamari In fact calamari I like proper squid Not the rings I like proper No not the batter on it How can you eat some of the old suckers Stucked inside your mouth Sucking on your cheeks And that Fucking suckers It's horrendous isn't it What's this one Paddy?
28:58What's this one? Oh well this is an Argentinian one I'm glad you asked that, Mr. Buck. Argentinian one. It's an Argentinian. Is it not crying? Is it not crying? Can we just say what is in the Spanish omelette? Potatoes. An egg. Spinach. What else? I can't believe there's all different ones, isn't there really? It's pepper. We've only just agreed on what they're called. Don't start him off on... Do you know what I like? I really like that. The English version of that. Quiche. Omelette. Quiche. Nah, quiche. Cheese and ham quiche. No. With beans. No. Disgusting. I love the quiche, mate. A quiche?
29:31Yeah. I thought you'd like a cheese flan. No, I don't like it. I like cheese flan, but that's not a quiche. That's a quiche? No. It's the same fucking thing. It's exactly the same thing. It's not. Right, well, go on then. What's in a cheese flan? Egg. Sorry, cheese. And what else? Like a bit of a cheese pie. Cheese and what else? But a cheese pie is done as a flan, so not a full pastry. It's got a pastry on the outside. You can see I'm leading you into it. You know you're wrong already. What's in a cheese flan? Cheese. And what else? Pastry. Yeah. Egg. egg right what's in a quiche yeah but it's not the same it's like egg is shit what's in a quiche like chunks like little fucking bacon cheese egg pastry a quiche is different it's the fucking same thing a quiche is different to a cheese flam so why have they got different names then only because why have they got different names only because fucking hands across the United fucking dressing room only because it doesn't matter
30:22Nicky:what the ingredients is it's different so a roast potato is not the same as a chip is it but the same as a potato Nick do you remember Teresa I'm right aren't I yeah remember Teresa oh yeah that's nice Spanish dish no Teresa she was the chef she was the chef at the cliff when we were kids right cheese flam chips and beans yeah exactly so it weren't a fucking quiche it was a cheese flam no but I'm saying it's the same thing it's just called a cheese flam it's not the same thing oh lord I'm saying I'm a spani now because the fucking Spanish omelette that he keeps saying is the same as a fucking tortilla exactly so no different names that's what I'm saying it's the same thing tortillas are wrap it's not that's a tortilla wrap that's a Mexican one we're not doing Mexican we're doing fucking Spanish yeah Mexico is a cricket got to say the finals what's this one much like the real final what's this so this is Argentinian Dulce de Leche Dulce de Leche no like it no like it which is a milk caramel spread like the sound of this lads I love a sweet looks a bit looks a bit what's the stuff no one likes shit on toast Marmite shit on toast It looks like shit.
31:29It looks a bit like rain.
31:29Nicky:It doesn't look like this, me. Oh. I'm happy with that. Oh, that's lovely, lads. Come on. That's nice. Chocolate sauce. It's fucking rubbish. It's not chocolate sauce. Love that, innit, Paul? It's really good, huh? Oh. That's awful. Do you have Nutella on toast? Yeah. I've got to say, I was slating the Argentinian team, but fucking come up trucks with that. Who's the winner? Well, we've had a lot of different things. It's like a main and a dessert, though, isn't it? It's hard to hear. Pisses all over that. I wouldn't have that again. Oh, I would. What, this? You can't have that. It's fucking disgusting.
32:08That's what you have when you're about six. It's not disgusting, is it? It's not disgusting in the slightest. You were eating fucking Mexican crickets the other week and going, they're all right. I wouldn't have them. How can you say eating an insect nicer than that? I think sweet is really against the Argentinian thing. I think that's what it is. A little bit of bias, though. I'm just a mere conduit here It's your two's decision If it was me These two Really? Hear me out As a one-off experience I've got to say The Argentinian Dolce de Leche Wins over the Spanish omelette Slash tortilla Tortilla What's a tortilla then?
32:50Tortilla is what you're talking about Oh a wrap No, tortilla and tortilla are the same fucking word. You're just saying it differently. A crisp. A crisp. Oh, nice flaming hot Doritos. Yeah, but they're a triangle, aren't they? I'm sure there's an egg. No, what's the one you get in the shell? It's like a shell like that. And it's that kind of... Tortilla. That's a tortilla. Yeah, tortilla. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Tortilla. So what's that? That's a taco. That's a Spanish omelette. Taco. It's not a tortilla. Taco. It's a taco. Taco shells. Taco. Taco. I'm sick of being right on this fucking show.
33:23Nicky:We've done one, Dumbery. Who's your winner? Spain.
33:30I mean,
Read the full transcript
33:31Nicky:there we go. Spain won again, didn't they? The Spanish, they've won again. Won again. And it's, it seems like the perfect fair result. Well, that's, that's it for this week's final. Spain versus Argentina. And Spain, much like the actual World Cup, take the bragging rights. That was Midnight Snack, powered by Midnight. Built for now, not like the old school bookies. It's quick to use, simple to navigate, nor messing about. Remember, you've got to be 18 or over and please gamble responsibly. just talking about the England manager and Tuchel and obviously everyone's going get him out and over half I say no give him a chance knows he's had his first World Cup and what have you but interesting the names that have come up who were in line to get the job now Pep's the first one because he's smiling at me Pep's the first one because apparently he was all set for signing and then he decides to stay on at City.
34:34The one that threw me, and it is a curveball, Oli Gunnar Solskjaer. Now, you're two United lads.
34:42Nicky:I never knew that. I never knew it. It's the first I've heard that. You know, I think, and I've never met Oli, but I've got to say, you two know him far more than anyone, but I think of him as just a solid, decent bloke. He just seems a nice guy. Right? you're fucking both being very quiet yeah you want me a nice lad yeah but what I'm saying is I don't think he's England manager no we don't I don't think anybody sees it and that's the first time I've ever heard that I don't think Oli would see that to be fair I see him as Norway manager yeah but just not England why do you do England or do international teams just literally talk to everyone I'd imagine they'd have a few people to go and speak to and it was just like thrown into I'd imagine it'd be thrown into the bucket at the other ones but you're talking about the managers who got there pep and no disrespect to ollie paul is not in that league yeah england should be going for the best available manager and they should do that now as well from my opinion i don't think he's the right one for the country now i think he's a good manager but i just seen the club manager the way he was definitely a two-collar yeah only because i said not because i don't like him as a manager he's obviously a very very very very good manager but there's some people i see him as an international manager and he's manager I see as club manager day to day wanting to control dressing him wanting to bollock players you can't really do that as a national manager you can't go into these big players and bollock them when you've only got them for four days you've got to build relationships with them I think it's really difficult the trouble is you have to start all over again don't you yeah I know that's the thing do you give him one more tournament but he knows what he's doing like I said before he doesn't last very long anyway he falls out with people do you think he's almost I think he's trying We're mind reading here But do you think he's going I'll make him sack me He'll have right now He'll have probably Three or four options Of club football management now It had been the Premier League Didn't it this season Who was it It was Your man that Did it at Nottingham Before he went to West Ham Crystal Palace Managers Yeah Crystal Glesnard Yeah and who was it Who went to West Ham Amorim did it as well From Forest Amorim did it Yeah West Ham manager Nuno Nuno he did it Yeah Against the owner they know what they're doing I'm telling you now Tuchel will have three or four options on a table with his agent to go and club manager a big football club in the somewhere 100 % even after that semi-final does that not make your stock go down a bit no because his his stock will have gone down a little bit but his stock's still going to be there thereabouts because it's referred to him at club football he's done it at the highest level and done it well like Scaldi said which club do I reckon suit him he was going to be United manager a couple of years yeah after that though not now I just think his personality is all wrong in my opinion for international football I think you've got to build relationships with people he's almost too young for it anyway do you know what I mean you think about it you see international football that's from the older he's only about the same age as your man at Argentina and he won the World Cup you see him crying you see him crying I think he's a South American very passionate he's never done it at club level though has he do you know what I mean yeah to be fair he's done really well apart from the game of the day he's done brilliantly but everyone was saying he's only in because it was Messi's mate wasn't it when he first came in so he's done brilliantly but I always see international football as like an older man I do and someone who can build relationships and not a hothead he's a hothead well I like Pep for instance yeah he feels like he's ready for an international football now do you know what I mean doesn't feel like I think Mourinho will be the same as well I've always gone through I think Mourinho Portugal Pep I don't think Pep can do the Spain thing like Klopp Germany Klopp Germany that's gone off and you look at the next World Cup it's going to be about managers in the next World Cup so Ancelotti with Brazil Klopp with Germany Zidane probably with France he was there last night Oli Gunner with England yeah yeah so it's going to be Oli Gunner with he could be Norway manager I think he could be I think that'll be his next job Norway can't see you I do I can see that there was another big manager but I can't remember is it Spain Spain.
38:55Sorry, the Spain manager's leaving as well, isn't he? Is he? Is the next World Cup Spain? No, that could be. Sorry, Xavi. Yeah. Where's the next World Cup? Have I dreamt that?
39:05Nicky:Spain, Morocco, Portugal. Yeah, I thought so, yeah. Yeah, Spain, Morocco, Portugal. What would that be equivalent to a ring? Portugal get a bottle of sagras. Is it Superboc or sagras? Yeah, both. Good stuff, that. What was your other one? Morocco, Tegin. Tegin, yeah. Tegin. And? Spain. Yeah, Australia Dam. Australia. Just watch rhymes. Fox yesterday when the old guy how good's he do you know he's good because he don't fuck about he just gets down he gets his club out and twats it did you not get anxiety you know when he's walking up to that last hole right and he's walking he saw me went and I just felt it for him because that was not a fucking easy did you see him on the par 3 I think it was the 15th or the 16th he had to go out sideways he made a 4 he made a bulger that was the best you've gone two shots behind him.
39:56He didn't come out sideways, he went out backwards. Backwards, yeah. And he got up and down. That was massive. That's probably one of them. But to birdie the last, I think there'd been five birdies all day or something. We all have that one person who you've played golf with who's a cheating bastard. I've got one in our group and honestly, he's a fucking nightmare player and he knows where he is. He's a... I won't go on his... Name him. I will do it, Sean. I won't go I can't play with him because I can't concentrate on my game because he'll go in the trees instantly got it got it or you'll play your game and you can see he's had a bit of a shocker and you'll get there and he'll go four and you're like four fucking there for six you know what I think
40:45Nicky:we've all got mates like that that just yeah but they never change it's hard to call them out though isn't it don't you think it's hard to call someone out no I don't I can't imagine you struggling but it ruins my I can't concentrate on the other game I'm trying to count his shots what do you get there and he goes 1, 2, 4, 6 and I've got another well we call this that's the worst thing when you walk back down the fairway from it and they go 1, 2, 3 yeah it's like do you know exactly how many shots you get cheating bastards when we first went to England squad didn't we me and Nicky unbeaten golf days yeah never lose never lost I like that who was the nearest competitor don't know we won by about 40 shots cheating bastards well you know what you two are in fact subscribers put your mates name name your mates and shame them who do that in golf another one of my mates I'm going to name him we haven't played golf before the first time we've played golf we didn't know what we did I think we got the scoring wrong the stable yeah obviously I've got another mate don't we have one this must be 30 years ago we won big berthers yeah oh my god much them all yeah yeah he twatted Phil Neville with it in the room at night time snapped it in half asking him to make my chocolate who'd make his chocolate why'd you get a big burger in the back of the head a big big burger was an unbreakable member apparently nobody can't break if you just snap right in half it was half for fuck's sake right chaps that prize guy oh my days this is a mega draw they're making someone a millionaire for just 50 pence this summer head over to that prizeguy.co.uk for your chance to become a millionaire were just 50 pence.

53:14Hey, kept them quiet though. I like this question. I'll read it again in typical quiz master fashion while you're writing your answers down. You've got 60 seconds. I want you to name every player that started in the 93 FA Cup U Final and you get a point for each player you get right and the team you were playing was Leeds. There's mine. You can all make all of them be cheap, won't you? No, no. First down. Right, you've got 10 seconds left. Yeah, I'm done. I can't think of anybody else. Right, pen down, please. So, what have you got to name as many as you can? Everyone you get right, you get a point.
53:52Who names it first?
53:53Nicky:Well, so what we'll do is... I'll name mine first. Yeah? Right. I've got it written down here. No, if you say the names and you took them off. Right, so I'll go. Kevin Pilkington. No. So you're minus a point. Right. Gary Neville Chris Casper I'm ticking out the names You don't need a ticket Gary Neville, Chris Casper John O 'Kane Do the same, you'd sit yours at the same time John O 'Kane Stephen Riley
54:30Me
54:31Nicky:Scolese Bex Keith Gillespie Ben Thorn yes Richard Irvine yes that's my 11 then I've only got one wrong so the goalkeeper I've got wrong then isn't it well go on tell me the name I've not got it I don't know I don't know I had Kevin Pilton down as well yeah Darren Whitmarsh never would have guessed that in my entire I never heard of that name you don't even know I'm on it do you was that a goalkeeper I think it was an Irish keeper wasn't it we had no keeper fucking hell where's Darren get him on the pod we had no keeper so I remember him And remember, Kevin Pilgrim was the same the year before.
55:11Nicky:He'd come in as a loan keeper and did really well. So I've won that one again. Well, yeah, I don't even have to count that up. I mean, the entire quiz. I've got one wrong. I'm not disputing. I'm saying you've fucking won. I'm saying you've won the entire thing. I'm trying to build you up here. You're still having a go at me. I don't know. Right. You, over there, do not put me in this position again.
55:35because unwarranted and unmerited abuse I've received over here for being the mouthpiece.
55:40Nicky:I've just got to be honest, Jack. I hope the bosses aren't watching that quiz because you won't be here next year. Anyhow, off the press, lads. Morgan Rogers to Chelsea. £170 million, a British transfer record. £170 million for a player who was on the bench for most of England's World Cup campaign. Yeah, but he did have Bellingham in front of him in the same position, so I get that. Firstly, just as a fan, feels a weird signing to Chelsea. I'd have seen him at Arsenal. Well, he's been linked with Arsenal. He probably saw... I think he's done the right thing going to Chelsea. Why? I think he'll play more...
56:21We've just seen Eze go to Arsenal from Crystal Palace. Not played a lot of football, has he? Now look, it's down to you in that left-hand side. I suppose that's the only place Morgan Rodgers could play for him now is he going to do that for Chelsea I don't know forget about the money the money is just fucking stupid it's outrageous now for any player I just I just think for his development I'm forgetting more game time than my cups are making me piss I just think sausage I suppose you have to back yourself if you're going to going to a club like Arsenal of course you do I just see him getting more to and do you know what strange enough he's left the team is playing the Champions League to go to a team over but I get that cuz that could be only one year and Chelsea are a bigger club now just there's more expectancy at Chelsea for him now Villa you can almost go under the radar they're not a bigger they're not bigger club than Arsenal though are they Chelsea mmm very similar what I thought do you think I think I saw you'd say probably the club yeah but not of the last 20 years I reckon Chelsea Chelsea won the Champions League yeah that's what I'm saying never won the Champions League and let's not forget
57:38Nicky:the World Club Championships I think with I agree with Scorsi I think he's probably been sold a journey with Chelsea Chelsea now are going to have to start preparing that football club to go back to what they originally have been which is winners over the last 20 years and I think with the mindset they brought in they obviously got a pathway sorry not pathway a plan of how the journey is going to look like and again looking at the way Arsenal have done it with the players that have come in they've not played every game I think Rodgers will want to play every single game do you know what I keep thinking about when's he spoken to Alonso to who Alonso while he's in the England camp in his room he's obviously had a Zoom with Alonso and Chelsea 100 % it's mad that isn't it should never be Alonso how was that all of a sudden you've not heard anything about it have you so they've definitely had a Zoom meeting while he's in the England camp when would he have known is it when Tuka went he's in a good mood today I've got a feeling about this I'm going to play him in the semis I think it must have been going on for a week or ten days a transfer that big doesn't happen overnight it'll be longer than that it doesn't happen overnight I've got a question when you play Hangman where's that come from where's that come from how do you draw your Hangman because people draw them all differently don't they have you never found that no it's just fucking what Luke It's very fucking simple.
59:01I just think about white boy. I think about hangman with the kids
59:07Bosh I don't draw it like that. What? Why do you do yours? That was mine Exactly same Yeah, what can you draw it?
59:18Nicky:I don't use put your stick in the middle of your bottom And I don't have to have a platform at the bottom like comes out of it. Let's have a look because literally if you do it like that it's going to fall over well it's not fucking real is it it's not the gallows no but you do understand that how we've drawn it is your lives and you have two arms that's why you did one arm so that's one life it's two lives yeah yeah but you just draw it like that so that's one life it's fucking exactly the same yours is practically got his feet on floor it's the worst gallows in history no fucker ever gets hanged on his but yours if you're tall you'll lose all your game because that fucking hand's one life no he's going like he's going fucking hell I've lost anyway that's wrong anyhow and you're going to get no stability there that's going to keel over with your weight that because you need to bounce it off do you do this as well do something do it right do you do this as well do you do that here you go that's the question do you do that so they know what it is yeah you got it that's a fucking game yeah but alright then here I I'll do a fucking this always gets people this right watch this right show a quick game I'm going to show it you know good one right hangman that's your thing ah
1:00:39bosh he's on his way to the gallows
1:00:41Nicky:no you don't do that go on that to me means that's just one letter that's just one letter yeah carry on you've got to put you've got to put the TV show no you've got to put the amount of dashes on it so you know how many fucking I have you've not I have it's one less isn't it so TV show yeah you need your category don't you yeah of course you do TV show yeah A B C D E F G H I J K L M N oh you've been fucking on you're dumb you're dumb what is it fucking hell fucking hell hey hey hey come here V come here come here give me that give me that what he's talking about give me that what he's talking about my hangman there is he fucking still on the floor I'll leave my finger off he wasn't moonwalking I had to do it quick because he was going through the fucking alphabet ruining the game V what's V Aliens do you not remember it what a film V no it was TV shows ITV your favourite fucking channel every I can't remember what night it used to be on about half ten eleven o 'clock V do you not remember V and that baby's ball and tongue comes out with his mouth like you don't remember it do you remember V mods well fucking what am I asking them for they don't even know I fucking do a quiz about United probably that's stupid well it's not stupid it's an actual TV show and you didn't know it so that's not stupid is it I've done that a few times I'm a smile he always catches them out unless you know your telly and then they go V straight away is that the only one you could spell right fucking right that's the end of the thing fucking World Cup fucking whatever this episode is that's all for that's all for this week's episode of the good the bad and the football powered by midnight the betting app that's built different we're back on thursday see you then
