0:00The Hodaki Big Show. Thanks to crave-worthy street food. Freshly made with Reburger. Don't fight it. It's time to go up a size.

0:12Jason Hoyte:This is the biggest, biggest, biggest, biggest, this is the biggest, our biggest show. The Hodaki Big Show. With Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh, would you look at that? It's the Hodaki Big Show reduced to producer. Pugs, how are you? It's a pleasure to be filling in for the fellas today. Mike Minogue, still in Fiji. Looks like he's having a garbage time. If you want to see what I'm talking about, Mr. Mike Minogue on Insta. Hoody J finally took some leave for the first time in his life. It's got to be incredible for him. And Keezy finally got out last night after a delayed flight due to all that hectic weather.

0:45Jason Hoyte:If you're listening to this and you're affected, hope you're okay. Hope everything's still attached on your house and your power's back, etc., etc. It is Friday before the long weekend. I want to know what your plans are. Give me a buzz on 3483. And, of course, The Big Show, as always, brought to you by our mates with the crave-worthy street food, freshly made at Reburger. Reburger? Hardly know her.

1:14You know, like, hardly know her.

1:18Jason Hoyte:Look, I don't consider myself a hugely knowledgeable person. That's why you tend to work in radio. but I do know I'm armed to the teeth with best bits from the fellas from this exact day last year and the year before. Plus, it's the last day of the ITM Toolbox Top-Up. Two huge tools to give away for your Friday. But in the meantime, let's kick off with the Arctic Monkeys on Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. It's Queens of the Stone Age on Hauraki. It's the small show you hear with pugs filling in for the fellas who have finally got a well-deserved break. I am sick and tired of the accusations that those fellas don't do any work.

1:56Jason Hoyte:They come in here for three hours a day, okay? They do three hours a day of radio, and then what? You expect them to go on an all-expenses-paid trip to Fiji for the weekend, drinking beers on the beach and playing golf at a championship course? Do you know how hard that was for them? So here I am to finally give them the rest they deserve, and I'm spinning here some of their best moments, like this one from mid-2022, where Jason Hoyt had a classic public transport experience. I had a hell of a day today, mate.

2:22Keyzie:I couldn't get the old car started. Absolute SOB. So I had to catch a train. Yeah, right. Yeah. Bit of public transport. Yeah, well, look, I'm not opposed to a bit of public transport. You know, I used to catch a train to work all the time and quite enjoyed it. Yeah, I mean, I'm with you. I like the idea of it, but I find my wrist gets really sore from signing all the autographs. Yeah, yeah, totally. And there's people wanting to do selfies all the time, you know what I mean? With you guys. I just don't like the proletariat anywhere near me. if you know what I mean. No. I mean, common people, I'm just like, look, hey, I really appreciate that you love me.

2:57Keyzie:But look, I just want to have my own space at the moment. Yeah, and I think we should be petitioning Auckland Transport or just New Zealand. Maybe we'll go straight to the Minister of Transport and just have private cabins and carriages. I would like that, actually, mate, because often what I find on the train is that the seats smell like wheeze. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah, certainly the passengers do. Yeah. A lot of them smell like wheeze. So now I'm on the train thinking, oh, God, feeling a bit shady. Yeah. You know, feeling a bit vomity in the mouthy. Yeah. And get out of my stop there at Glen Eden, get about a kilometre down the track, she breaks down.

3:36Keyzie:The train? The train just totally breaks down. And I'm like, you are joking me. What did they say? Did they say, oh, we've broken down here, sorry? Yeah, there's going to be a massive delay. and of course I'm realising that I have to get to work because I'd cut it pretty slim because I'd been sleeping all day trying to get rid of the old hangover. And so I was like, oh, I'm not having a bar of this. And so I got out of the train, went to the front of the train and in every front of the train there's a little sort of, I don't know what you'd call it, a cabinet underneath with rope. Yeah, yeah. So I just tied that around my waist.

4:11Outside the train? Yeah, yeah. So you're on the train tracks at this stage? Yeah, totally on the train tracks. Right, okay. It was safe though, Kesey, because the train wasn't working. It wasn't functioning. It was actually broken down.

4:20Keyzie:And I just wrapped that rope around my waist, mate, and just pulled her into town.

4:28You pulled the entire train into town. That's good on you. Good on you, mate, because a lot of people would have just taken a taxi or an Uber. Totally, mate. But you didn't want to let everyone else down on the train. Exactly. Nine stops it was.

4:42Keyzie:And the amazing thing was I was so efficient, and this is the thing about trains, Keezy. Right. You get a bit of momentum, don't you, Mike? You do. And they're actually really easy to pull. Yeah. It's quite deceptive, isn't it? It is. People think you're super strong and you do need to be to get it going. The most difficult thing about pulling a train is actually stopping it. Well, I was about to say, how did you stop nine times? What would happen is when I got to a station, I'd just go off to the side there and the front of the train would go past me and I'd just anchor myself on the tracks there and just slow her down.

5:13Keyzie:Mate, I was so efficient. we were early all the way into town. Yeah. Right. So a few people were actually a bit pissed off because they missed the train because I was that good and that efficient at pulling the train that they actually missed me. So you were pulling a train with how many carriages? It was middle of the day, so it wasn't as many. I think 15. Okay, so you were pulling a train with 15 carriages and then you'd get to a station, you'd stop the train, more people would hop on? Yeah. And then you'd keep going. Yeah. And then I'd get back to the front of the train and just put my head down and into it.

5:50Yeah, I did that once.

5:52Jason Hoyte:We've all been there. Am I right? On your local public transport system. It's to the best of us, am I right? More best bits from the fellas to come, plus keep an hour out for that queue to call for your chance to win a tool thanks to ITM. There's Metallica.

6:14on Radio Hauraki.

6:15Jason Hoyte:You're here with Pugs. It's the Hauraki, not small, but perfectly sized show. And I'm going to spin you a snapshot of what my sister-in-law, who was up visiting at the time, called one of the best nights of her life. And, of course, she's talking about the Manuka Fuel Full Metal Orchestra, which was held here in Tamaki Makoto back in July. And a little taste of what you're going to be hearing next Saturday night at Wolfbrook Arena in Christchurch. Wrap your ears around this bastard.

6:57Jason Hoyte:Thank you.

7:14Keyzie:I'm back. I'm back. Yes, I'm back. I'm back. I'm back. I'm back. I'm back. Yes, I'm back. I'm back.

7:33Jason Hoyte:Wrap your ears around that. That is a snapshot from Manuka Fuel Full Metal Orchestra in Auckland, and you can expect more of that next Saturday at Wolfbrook Arena in Christchurch, the next edition of the Manuki Fuel Full Metal Orchestra. Tickets available now from fullmetallorchestra.com. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. The Big Show's Toolbox Top-Up with ITM. That's right, it's the final day of the ITM Toolbox Top-Up here at Hauraki. You can find all the deals in ITM's Toolbox Top-Up catalogue packed with 20-plus pages of exclusive offers and playing the game for maybe the longest name of a radio prize of all time.

8:19Jason Hoyte:It is a Makita 40-volt Max XGT brushless reciprocating saw plus XGT battery and charger starter pack valued at$832. Playing the game. Rachel, how are you going?

8:33Keyzie:Going well, thank you.

8:34Jason Hoyte:That's good, mate. How's Welly today? Has the wind chilled out a bit? Yeah, it's beautiful. It's been nice and sunny. Went for a walk along the waterfront at lunchtime. Beautiful. I imagine there would be a few people slightly hesitant to do that despite the sun, but I'm glad you're good, mate. How's your memory? I think it's pretty good. Yeah, okay. Okay. What do you do for a crust? I'm a public servant. I work at just a boring office job. Yeah, yeah. Nice, nice. You're looking to get into your, well, I mean, first of all, backbone, but you're looking to get into more of your sort of backbone-y work there out on the tools, Rachel?

9:10Look, it's the after-hours DIY stuff that we've got some room for improvement. And, you know, I'm not going to lie to my husband as well. He's the one who's going to be leading some of us.

9:22Jason Hoyte:You'll be in the great books with this one. Yeah, support from a resourcing point of view. I think that would go down pretty well. Absolutely, mate. Well, I'll tell you what, if you're not already familiar with the game, I'll run you through it anyway. Basically, I'm going to read out 10 tools. Now, because it's a Friday and it's the last day and I'm feeling generous, you only have to remember four of them. It has been five for the last two weeks, but today, on this Friday, you only have to remember four out of ten things that I'm about to read out to you, and then you'll have 15 seconds to list off four of them, okay?

9:52Okay.

9:53Jason Hoyte:All right, let's crack into the list reading. Starting off, Rachel, one, electric Nusspress, impact wrench, MC Hammer Time, Planer, Plug Sander, Drill Driver, JizzBot, Hammer Drill, Schnoz Extender, Angle Drill. Rachel, your time starts now. Schnoz Extender, JizzBot, Electric something, MC Hammer, Biscuit Wrench. Keep going, keep going. MC Hammer Time, Electric Wrench. Yeah, that'll do, Rachel. Well done. You've done it, mate. That's at least four. I'm piecing them together. You did it, mate. You've won yourself that absolutely long-named tool that I'm not going to have another crack at. Stay on the line and I'll sort you out off air.

10:47Jason Hoyte:That's all thanks to our mates at ITM. You can find a huge range of big brands, Makita, Hikoki, DeWalt, and more at your local ITM store nationwide. Here's some faith no more. We'll have another chance for you after five. You're listening to Radio Hoda. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. It's David Bowie there on the Hauraki Average More of a Grower Show with pugs filling in for the feelers who just could not be arsed doing any more work after they had a hard weekend last weekend living it up in Fiji. And now I'm spinning in some of their most iconic moments, this one from all the way back in April 2022 when Mike Minogue discovered something shocking about his wife.

11:26Look, I got home last night, man. I just wanted to sort of run something past you guys. Sure, man. You're my buds. You'll be able to give me some advice on this. But I went home last night and the old missus there, she says, look, I've got something I need to talk to you about. And I'm saying, hello. Yeah, yeah. Hello. That's not good. Sits me down on the couch. I'm saying, what's going on? And she goes, well, I just want you to know that there's been something going on. And I just need to bring it to your attention. I'm like, jeez. Oh, what the? My antenna goes up. Yeah, I can imagine. You man-raid-a.

12:00I'm starting to get worried a little bit, to be honest with you, because straight away I'm thinking she's up to no good. I don't know. Did you get that sense just then? Yeah, yeah, totally, man. Yeah, I know. And I said, hang on. What are we talking about here? And she said, well, look, there's been some messaging going on. Some messaging. What do you mean, messaging? On the social media, she said, there's been some messaging. Right. Oh, okay then. I said, who have you been messaging? She says, oh, no, no, no. No, no, she hasn't been messaging me. I haven't been messaging anyone. Someone's been messaging me.

12:36I said, oh, yeah, okay, tell me more, tell me more. And she goes, yeah, someone's been messaging me. Your mate Keezy. Oh, no. Your mate Keezy has been trying to friend me on Instagram. Oh, no. And then when I didn't accept it, he's been messaging me every hour on the air, asking what my problem is. Jesus. and say, look, I've got to bring it up. I mean, I'm glad you brought it up on air, mate.

13:06Keyzie:I'll be honest with you. Yeah, same. Oh, jeez. I mean, well, Jase, what would you do in this situation? Because it's a difficult thing, because I don't know if you know this, but I work with Kesey. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And so it makes it difficult knowing that he is trying to hook into my missus. Because there's that whole kind of, yeah, exactly, that whole kind of pervy, creepy vibe. I know, because I know what a sicko he is. Yeah, well, totally. So I know what he's got in his mind. Oh, yeah, just porn. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, massive amounts of porn. Filth, filth. And so you're thinking to yourself, here's this dude who just watches porn consistently.

13:42Keyzie:He's an animal. He's an animal. The brothel keeper. The brothel master. Oh, the brothel master, yeah. And he's, what I find concerning about it, actually, there, Minogio, is that he's doing it on the hour. Yeah. That kind of persistent pesting. My wife said it seemed to her like he had an alarm set. Right, okay. It was literally on the minute every hour. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it was something she felt uncomfortable about because obviously it's a work relationship that I'm in with Keys. Yeah, yeah, totally. But from her point of view, she considers our marriage to be fairly important as well. Oh, massively so.

14:18Keyzie:I mean, he's not just really uncomfortable for your wife. It's uncomfortable for your professional environment as well. You know what I mean? Knowing that a guy that you're working with is massively hitting on your partner. Do you think it's something that I should bring up with Kesey? Look, I think we just let it sit for a little while. Yeah. See what she goes through today. I mean, if he's doing the whole pervy, pesty thing all day today, sending out, you know, then I think maybe you and I, we do a bit of an intervention tomorrow. And just in the meantime, if we could just keep this just between you and me.

14:56Yeah, totally. Because I don't want Kesey getting wind of it.

14:58Jason Hoyte:God, no. Stick around to hear the part two of that whole fiasco. That Kesey, man, he's a shocker bastard. He's a shocker bastard. Got some TV chat for you before the hour's out, but first let's crack into some Fratellis. This is Chelsea Dagger on Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki. Hauraki, you're here with Pugs. Hey, before the hour wraps up, let's crack into a quick TV chat, eh? What's on the telly with my... Pugs.

15:31Jason Hoyte:Yeah. There's no time. All right? I need to crack into some science here. I want to understand why is it that my partner will introduce me to shows that I generally wouldn't touch with a 10-foot barge pole, and sometimes I still think they're kind of... well, they could be perceived as not great, and then I'm still obsessed with them. I finished The Hunting Wives last night, TVNZ+. Sophie O 'Neill moves to Deep East Texas and succumbs to socialite Margot's charms. Her life is soon consumed by obsession, seduction, and murder. Now, my favorite TV shows, The Sopranos, is probably the most notable one.

16:06Jason Hoyte:I wouldn't normally go near The Hunting Wives. I was chomping at the bit for season two when I finished that show last night. We watched the final three episodes, the amount of obsession, seduction, murder, bonking, etc., etc., in that show, out the gate. It's crazy. I just don't, I want to understand that science. If you get it, give me a text on 3483, or if you know a show that you have watched with your partner that your partner's introduced you to, that you generally wouldn't be into. For example, my partner introduced me to Love Island, Love Island, Australia, the summer I turned pretty and now this the hunting wives so I'd like to understand or hear your examples of shows that you wouldn't have touched without your partner's influence plus plenty coming up after five I've got four best bits in the chamber just for that hour my boss is going to kill me plus a second chance for you to win a till from our mates at ITM for the final day of the ITM toolbox top up

17:11Jason Hoyte:G'day handsome, you're here with Pugs, I'm filling in for the fellas, it's the Hauraki Big Show Light Edition, brought to you by our mates at ReBurger, seven good times and good food, dine in or take away ReBurger today. I just don't think I've ever eaten anything so delicious. That was kind of really street food. They had beef, they had chicken, they had bacon and vegetarian options. And it was re-buck. And it was so yum. Hell of a lot on this hour on the Hauraki Teenie Weenie Show. I've barricaded the door to stop Pixie Campbell barging in and saying, it's too many iconic moments, pugs. The people can't have this many good memories.

17:53Jason Hoyte:you need to keep them starved. No, four best bits this hour from the big show, plus your second and final chance to win a tool from the ITM Toolbox top-up. Of course, no throbber today, sadly. Not because all the fellas are away, but because the controversy would be too much to have an entirely yummy boys-themed throbber. Unless you disagree. 3483 is pill jam. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. It's talking heads on the Hauraki Itsy Bitsy Show. You're here with Pugs filling in for Hoity J, Mogey and old Keezy. And speaking of Hoity J, this date last year, October 24th, he'd just got back from a huge holiday away where I'm pretty sure he was permitted like at least two days of leave.

18:36Jason Hoyte:And so the fellas did a play-by-play on exactly how he would have spent his time off. Hey, while you're away, Jase, because you were away last week, eh? Yes, Keezy. Yeah, what was that about? While you're away, me and old Mogey over there, We got the listeners to help us put together what we assume a sort of regular day off for you might look like. Sure. Because you didn't leave the city. You know, you pretty much were just at home. Yeah. So we got people texted around 3483 and helped us put this sort of schedule together. So I'll just run you through a few of the things on it.

19:05Keyzie:Before you get into it, Kezia, I mean, do you feel like it's accurate or? I mean, I think it's absolutely accurate. Right, okay. 6 a.m. you're awake because of the sunlight. Yeah, generally about 5.30, caught to 6, and I've got a very thin curtain mogey in my room. Oh, yes. So the sunlight does get in a little bit, yes. Yeah, so instead of changing the curtain, making it darker and sleeping in, no, we'll just leave it. Well, I mean, the curtain itself, Keezy, is quite dark, but it's just a thin material. Sure. Yeah. Okay, 6.05, do staccato wheeze, which is like stop, starty wheeze. No, it's usually a power stream.

19:39And then it, don't lie, and then at 6.10, you decide that's actually enough, You shut off the tap and go, that's enough. I've pretty much emptied the tank. Then you put on some shorts because you're at home. And it's getting warm now. Inaccurate. Why? What did you put on? My trackies. Your brown crocs. Oh, your trackies and my brown crocs. 615, have a durry on the deck. 620. Incorrect. Sigh about nothing, then head back inside. No, incorrect.

20:01Keyzie:You got that around the wrong way. You sigh first. First, I make my wife a really terrible coffee, which she doesn't appreciate. Hang on. I've got that down. Oh, okay. 645. 645, make coffee for wife and over. And then at 6.50 you sulk because she says it's too hot. Can I just clarify? At 6.55. That sulking lasts for the duration of the day. That's right. At 6.55, have another durry and a whore of a mood. This is very important to clarify. I never have a durry before my coffee. All right? You can have a durry with your coffee. Yeah, so I make the coffee first and then I go outside and have a durry.

20:34Keyzie:Right, okay. We forgot 6.30, three perfect tubes and two imperfect strokes. Yes, that's accurate. We're up to 7 o 'clock now. Someone suggested that you do stretches, but then at quarter past seven, you moan about how sore your legs are from doing the stretches, and then at 7.30 a.m., you Google leg cancer symptoms and start panicking. Can I say, just for the sake of accuracy there, at seven o 'clock, I do chair yoga. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Okay. I can picture that. Yes. At eight o 'clock, you crank the hog. What's that again? Mogi said it was, do you get your motorbike out? Oh, is it? I know.

21:15Keyzie:No, inaccurate. Right, okay. 805, F and Jeff about Roo or the duck. 830, watch Dog Squad again and talk along to the voiceover. Can I, for the sake of accuracy once again, I've actually never watched Dog Squad. Right, no, yeah. Sure you haven't. 9am drain your proboscis using two beach towels and that goes until 9.20 10 minutes for each nostril Yeah that's right and at that point you tell your wife about that time you used to work with Ryan Gosling 9.30 get your rod out 9.40 get your fishing rod out Depends on the tide Which one of those two things? Look I don't In terms of getting my rod out, that tends to be early on.

22:10Keyzie:Yeah. Right, okay. And getting my fishing rod out, that's tide dependent. Okay, let's say the tide was good. 9.40, you got the fishing rod out. 11.40, you retire from fishing with 15 undersized fish. Correct. 11.45, make the best ceviche in the world. Correct. Noon, tell everybody that you make the best ceviche in the world. Correct. Make the best iced coffee in the world to have with it. Correct. Have another durry at quarter past 12. Can I just clarify something here? I've probably had about eight durries by then. Right, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But that's only the first part of the day.

22:45Jason Hoyte:Are we pretty accurate? That's only lunchtime.

22:46Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, it's pretty accurate.

22:48Jason Hoyte:So if you're wondering what Hoere J's up to, just go back through that play-by-play there. That pretty much nails the morning down. He'll be back on Tuesday with the rest of the fellas when the Haraki Big Show team's back in full. In the meantime, three more best bits to come this hour, plus a second chance for you to win a tool thanks to our mates at ITM on the final day of the toolbox top up. But in the meantime, here's Muse. Plug in, baby. It's Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Velvet revolver on Hauraki. It sounds like I was taking a lot of effort to pronounce that.

23:21Jason Hoyte:I absolutely was saying five times fast. You're here with Pugs. It's the Hauraki grower, not a shower show. I'm spinning you some of the fellas' best bits from throughout the years. Somebody actually texted me on 3483 and said, can we get some improv, please? This was a couple of days ago. And so I've kept that in the back of my mind just for you. Here's an improv from this time last year. Sound speed. Lights.

23:44Keyzie:Camera.

23:45Jason Hoyte:Action.

23:46Keyzie:Now it's time for the Big Show Improv. Well, I was thinking, fellas, in celebration of Kesey's overseas travels of late, and I, by the way, Mogi, had a real go at him about upgrading again yesterday. Let's not get off topic. And leaving his wife behind again. That's not what happened. So I thought what would be quite a nice scenario maybe this time is that Keezy's going through customs. Yep. Okay? So it's a customs sort of set up. Keezy is massively hungover. Yep. And also has terrible diarrhoea. Okay. Okay? Right, okay. I don't see why. Why? And he's getting, like, sharp pains in his stomach from a Thai curry he had the night before.

24:35Keyzie:Plus, of course, he's actually massively hungover. It was a death ramen. It was, okay. Yeah. You, of course, Mogi, will play the customs official. Yeah. All right? There we go. Customs officer Mogi. Yeah. Okay, airport. G'day, mate. Is this your bag? Yeah, it's my bag. What's your name, brother? Chris. Chris. Chris. Oh, sorry, Chris Key. Okay, I'm Customs Officer Mogey. I'm just going to, is it all good if I go through your bag? Yeah, still don't. I'm just going to unzip it here, mate, all right? But then, drummer, as drug dog Latte sidles over to Keezy and sniffs his ass. Oh, God, what's, sorry, are there dogs?

25:20Why is the dog sniffing my ass? That's not a dog, mate, that's an officer, all right? That's an officer of the Custom Service here in New Zealand, and you'll treat them with the same amount of respect as you treat me, all right? So the reason why we've pulled you over is Officer Goodboy over there, prior to smelling your anus as he is now, he's smelt drugs on your person. He's signalled, and so now I'm just going to go through your stuff here, all right? We're going to unpack it. We're just going to go through it item by item, all right? So what's this? One 12-inch dilly. Did you buy that over there?

25:52Yeah, it's a bit of a joke present for the fellas back home that I work with. One 14-inch dilly. Is that a joke as well, is it, mate? And that one there is engraved with the name Chris Key. Yeah, no, that's actually one for me. It was a...

26:07Keyzie:Just at that moment as Keyzy goes to release a bit of wind, he slightly shits himself. Oh, God. Hey, mate, how long is this going to take just quickly? Upwards of an hour. And then throws up slightly in his mouth. I've got a bit of a situation going on here. I had a lux last night, and it's just not agreed with me. Mogi, unimpressed, starts to lose his call. Is there a toilet? I'll be back in line. No, you'll be all right there, mate. Whatever happens now happens, all right? I just don't want to. We'll just stay between us, all right? Okay, between me, you, and Latte. Okay. Going through your bag here again, all right?

26:47Okay. One 18-inch dilly. Okay. I thought I put those in my jacket, if I'm honest. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, okay. Yeah, no, it's confusing, isn't it? Surely there must be other stuff in there. I can't remember just... No, there is.

27:00Keyzie:Just then, Mogi starts putting on his plastic gloves. Yeah, yeah, I'm just going to put on my plastic gloves here. Right, okay. I've run out of my rubber ones. I've got my plastic ones on. Have you got latex ones? They're pretty tacky. And when I say tacky, I mean they're sticky. Right. When I say sticky, it means this is going to be a rough couple of hours for you, boy. Couple of hours? Trust me, if you're going to... We'll just get you to bend over there, mate. What, in the middle of the sort of x-ray area with everyone? Yeah, that's right. Okay. It's a new policy. Okay. Yeah, okay, what? Please, he loses all control of his bowels and releases fully.

27:37Keyzie:Does he? Ah,

27:44that's a shame. Just looking through your suitcase, here I can see a butt plug. Bit late.

27:50Jason Hoyte:What's fascinating about that improv there, kicking off your long weekend, is though Mike Minogue plays the customs officer in that scenario, I can really envision him being the charter. Don't know what it is. Hopefully that doesn't happen to him on his trip overseas. Hey, just while I've got you, you could win your share of that 10K cash injection we got on the Hauraki gig a little fun, thanks to our mates at Super Liquor. Listen out for the roar of the encore, which could go off at any time and give us a buzz on 0800 Hauraki. You just have to choose the gig. I'd go to the Freddy's tour, but for all I care, it could be one of those weird experimental drone bands.

28:24Jason Hoyte:Here's the cure on Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. It's the cult on Hauraki. It's Pugs here going back to back with the best bits. Another one from this exact date last year when Jason Hoyt had some very, very exciting career news.

28:41Keyzie:I don't normally do this, but there's something I need to address. Is this under the segment title, It's been bugging me? Is that a new segment we're doing? Yeah. Pugs, have you already banged up that, man? Have you already banged that up for us, man? That sting, man? To be honest with you, Mogi, I don't know that it sort of comes under that title. Okay. But it's one of those things that it's getting out of hand. It's growing. I hear people talking behind my back. You know, I hear the rumours. I see social media. and I've reached a point where it's like, okay, I need to address this before it gets out of hand.

29:20Keyzie:Okay. Can I guess what it is? Sure. You honker?

29:28Wow. So as a guess, I mean, just based on what you said about people talking about it, it getting massively out of hand.

29:37Keyzie:I don't even know what to say to that, Pugs, but anyway. Sorry, I was just a guess. No, look, it's no big deal. and I can confirm I'm going to be on the next series of Celebrity Treasure Island. Oh, yeah, congrats. Because it's been swirling around, and people, Hoere J would be awesome on this. Get Hoere J on. Hoere J would be... I would pay to see Hoere J on CTI. That is interesting, because one of the... Really, the only caveat that they have is that you can't tell anybody about it until the show is announced, after filming. Sure, but also they know that I've got a huge following and so they're trying to jazz up the whole pre-show hype.

30:22So start getting everyone excited about a year out.

30:25Keyzie:I'll tell you what the only contention's been actually thus far. Is it you saying it while the old season's still playing? No, the only contention, the only disagreement we've had contractually at the moment is they've asked me what charity I want to have as my charity and I've said my wife. because then, you know, it's like if I win$10 ,000 for my charity, da-doosh, my wife gets 10K. Sure. And Hoere J, like, ka-ching, ka-ching. Wow. And they were sort of against that, and I said, well, hang on, that will make me compete for reels. And when you've got Hoere J competing for reels, look out, New Zealand.

31:04Well, what I've noticed with actually a lot of the competitors on there, and not just this season, other seasons as well, is they all seem to have their own charity. Sure. They all seem to have their own charity. That's a good point. I'll be doing it for my own charity, and it is, you know, we do this, that, and the other. But they usually do help people. They don't just go to partners. Well, you know that they've got a charity. You haven't seen them do any work, have you? You've taken them at their word that they're doing work. I am, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I 100 % think they probably are.

31:30Right. But at the same time, I also don't know. So if you just start up a little charity.

31:34Keyzie:Exactly, mate. Yeah. Well, as I say, I've just made up my wife, so, I mean, that's pretty easy. You know, and I just felt it was important to get ahead of the game because sometimes these things get blown out and stupid things start swirling about. So, yes, I am going to be in the next series of Celebrity Treasure Island, all right? So just leave it there. And what do you think your strengths are going to be on CTI, Jase? Is it going to be your physical capabilities? Sure. Which we've seen across multiple videos. Is it going to be your ability to solve puzzles with your milky eyes? or is it going to be your ability to be able to build camaraderie with your fellow competitors given you don't really like people?

32:12Keyzie:I think it's going to be being able to stab every bastard in the back, Mogi. Yeah, definitely. Your people skills will shine through. So there we're done, all right? All right, sweet. End of the hearing. No more about it.

32:25Jason Hoyte:I don't want to hear any more about it because I'm eating a barbecue chip. More on that story before the hour's out. That's right, I'm going back to back to back with the best bits just for you. And in the meantime, if you get lonely and you miss the fellas over the weekend, just search us up on iHeartRadio. It's free to download, free to use. Search Hauraki Big Show and you can access the entire archive of absolutely garbage chat. Here's Midnight Oil on Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Radio Hauraki. It's Pugs here. One more best bit before the hour's out. Continuing the story of Jace's exciting career development of being selected for Celebrity Treasure Island New Zealand.

33:05Keyzie:This is Breaking News. Yeah, listen, fellas. What I just discussed in the last voice break, Celebrity Treasure Island, the producers have just called me I've been sacked. Right, did they say why? Yeah, because apparently you're not meant to talk about when they select you for the new series. So for the series. It's like Fight Club. Yeah, you don't talk about, you know, the one rule of CTI, because you don't talk about CTI. Yeah, right. Yeah, yeah. Are you gutted about that? Because that could have been your big break. No, it would have been my big break, you know what I mean? and that's the way it goes, man.

33:37It's like the one rule of STIs as well, eh? Yeah, yeah. You don't talk about STIs. But you should if you've realised you've got one. Oh, you should responsibly, yeah. You should tell everyone. And also ring everybody up that you've ever sort of seen in the past and just go, hey, just a heads up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Old Keezy's. No, don't use me.

33:55Jason Hoyte:The fellas will be back in full on Tuesday. If you can't wait till then, search Hauraki Big Show wherever you get your potties from. And in the meantime, more best bits to come before I get out of here, including Keezy leaving the big show and also him massively pesting the part two story of him texting Mogi's wife after six on Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. That's right, it is the big show, you mad sicko freaks, brought to you by our mates at Reburger with beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options. Reburger, redefining the norm.

34:35Jason Hoyte:And if I could just direct your attention to this next slide, you'll see that Reburger is having both good times and good food. And that's whether or not you dine in or take away Reburger today. and if you just look at this next one you'll see that it's yeah that sounds like the kind of office I'd want to work and not only because of the scrum diddly umptious re-burger but also because of this office Radio Hauraki is dead I am dead alone because everybody's effed off for the long weekend so text me on 3483 with your plans I've got a few re-burger vouchers I can probably swing out in the meantime more best bits on the way but first here's Paddle of Mud on Hauraki The Hauraki Big Show.

35:22Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

35:25Jason Hoyte:It's Radiohead on the Hauraki Big Shitter. I mean, show you're here with Pugs filling in for the fellas back in full on Tuesday. But in the meantime, squeezing in a couple more best bits for you as well. I can before I head off on my own long weekend. And this was when Keezy took his biggest hiatus from the Hauraki Big Show.

35:43Keyzie:Speaking of the three-day weekend, of course, Keezy, this is the last week for you, my friend. and then you're off for a month-long honeymoon, eh, boy? Three more shows, Keezy. How are you feeling about that, man? All good? Yeah, of course. I'm bloody excited. It's been a long time coming. Been saving up for a long time. My wife and I haven't been overseas. Well, I went to Fiji for a wedding, but before that it was probably five or so years. Eyes to the front, Keezy. But, yeah, I'm excited. Yeah, boy. Good on you, brother. Yeah, that's good. It's a, obviously getting to see a bit of Europe for the first time is pretty exciting and especially given, you know, that you're leaving when we're still, and like most people you would expect, Jason, back me up on this, you and I have been in radio a long, long while now.

36:32Wow. You know, generally people with time that you go on those sorts of trips when we've got that four-week break at the end of the year when everybody's off. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you're taking it off when we're sort of, you know, still in the thick of things and you're sort of opening the door, I guess, because pugs will be coming in. Pugs will be replacing you for a month, and that doesn't bother you at all, man, like sort of opening the door for somebody else to have a crack.

36:57Keyzie:Oh, totally. As they say, Mogi, there's 50 to 100 people as soon as you walk out that door that want to walk in that door. Yeah, that's right. You know what I mean? They're banging on the door, as they were. And we've got a little chat going on, just separate from the show, with pugs, for when you're away, by the way, just incidentally, the ideas are pissing out of them. Oh, unbelievable. They are pissing out of them. Because the sort of the road, you know, of radio is sort of littered with the corpses of overconfident former presenters, former personalities. You're not wrong, mate. Right. So what do you, I mean, obviously.

37:36Keyzie:But I'll tell you what, your first time in Europe, that is awesome, man. It's going to be just you and your partner going for walks and eating pizzas and pucks. Yeah, obviously it's going to be great. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, obviously I'm happy for Pug. He's a member of the team. We've all got our jobs. We all know what we're doing. Sure, yeah. I've seriously never been more impressed than I have working with Pugs. He's just blown me away with his work ethic. Oh, totally. You don't even have to ask. He's just go, go, go the whole time. Totally, we all are. Chucking out ideas all the time. Oh, so good.

38:09Keyzie:Mate, I'm looking forward to it. He's going to be great. Jase, I mean, I know what you guys are saying, and thanks for your concern, but my name's written down on a piece of paper that says Keezy. Yeah. Who wrote that? Part of the big show. Who wrote that? I don't know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you sign it? Yeah. Oh, right. But it says Keezy, big show, presenter. Sure. You know what I mean? Sure, sure, sure, sure. So they're not just going to... I mean, they'll keep you around Hodaki, you know? I mean, you'd be surprised how many calls you get into a show between sort of midnight and four. Yeah, yeah.

38:39Keyzie:Well, I heard Prebs was maybe going away for a month. So the night show's going to be up for grabs again. But it's good, man, that you're not even bothered by it because I would be, even in my position, which feels fairly secure, I'd still be like, oh, I don't know, man. Mate, you know, I've accused you of having tiny bullies before, Keezy. You have big bullies walking out and just going, see yous, see you. Because I just don't, this is me, though. This is not you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know how, you know, you're going to go away, it's a honeymoon with your wife, and given, you know, how are you going to stay in the moment, you know, when you know damn well your head's on the chopping block.

39:19Yeah, yeah.

39:19Keyzie:Well, I wouldn't put it like that. You just see great Insta post after Insta post. Because, I mean, Pugs will still be doing all that stuff, you know what I mean? Right. He'll be filling all the roles. Yeah. Looking forward to it. But, you know, seriously, then. As they say in France, Kesey, bon voyage, brother. Yes, c 'est la vie. Oh, thanks, fellas. Looking forward to it.

39:42Jason Hoyte:Just note that if you decide to take extended leave like Kesey, your co-workers will probably say the same thing about you. And while I've got you, the Radio Hauraki Swingers Golf Polo is still available now from mrvintage.co.nz if you want to feel like how we did in Fiji. Here's the killers. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. It's the killers on the Haraki Big Show with Pugs filling in for the fellas. And, of course, we've got that 8K ring to give away thanks to our mates from Diamonds on Richmond. But we know that us Kiwis need a little bit of encouragement to drop a knee and propose.

40:18Jason Hoyte:So we're asking you to nominate or tell us your story about not getting proposed to. And on the line, I'm actually joined now by Anonymous. Anonymous, are you there?

40:28Keyzie:Yes, I'm there.

40:29Jason Hoyte:Hi. Thanks for coming on, Anonymous. Now, I want you to tell me your story, because obviously you don't enter unless you're waiting on a proposal. So what's going on? We've been together for seven years, and he has two teenage children.

40:45Keyzie:So we don't really have plans for more children. And I think the least he can do for me is drop a knee. And what best way to do it is get his favourite radio station to help me give him an edge. because if the boys come to do it, he'll do it.

41:03Jason Hoyte:Right, so it's going to take encouragement from the boys. Have you tried encouragement from his pals or other people in his life before you came to us at Hauraki?

41:13Keyzie:I think they're all keen on it, but he's just a management. He cares more about building a cattle yard than a ring on a finger.

41:20Jason Hoyte:I see, I see. So, okay, so he sounds like a backbone, but he'd be even more of a backbone if he actually just nutted up and actually dropped the knee. All right, Anonymous, I'll chuck you on hold there. I'll come back to you in a moment. Thank you for that. So there you go. There's just one of many, many stories of Kiwis not getting proposed to, and Diamonds on Richmond are here to help. And if you're actually okay with dropping a knee and you're planning on purchasing a ring this October, there's not much time left, but if you do, tell them that Hauraki sent you, and Diamonds on Richmond will include a complimentary pair of diamond earrings with every engagement ring purchased in October.

41:54Jason Hoyte:And that's all thanks to our mates at Diamonds on Richmond, making buying an engagement ring really, really easy. It's Radio Hauraki. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Hauraki, you're here with Pugs filling in for the fellas on the Big Show, Jase, Mike, and Keezy with the final best bit of the day. We have made it. Thanks for coming along for the ride. Here is part two of Keezy pesting on Mike Minogue's wife on Instagram. Mike, do you want to get my...

42:23Keyzie:Just take a minute if you don't mind. Yeah, man, no. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks, mate.

42:31Keyzie:Hey, Keezy. What's up? Listen, I've just been chatting to old Minogio. Oh, yeah. And a bit of something's come up, I guess you could say. On air or off air? Yeah, it was on air. It was on air. And I think I... Listen, mate, I think the world of you, I really do. I think you're a top bloke. Oh, thanks, man. I really think you're a top bloke. I like you too, man, yeah. Yeah, yeah, well, that's cool. And I really like Mike. But listen, Mike was just saying on air, and it's something I think we need to address, that you've, since yesterday, started pesting his wife a little bit. Pesting? That, yeah, she's refused to accept you as a friend or something like that on Instagram or something like that.

43:15Keyzie:Oh, yeah, yeah, she did. And she was saying that you've been texting her every hour ever since, and she's kind of freaked out, mate. I'll be really honest with you. Well, I'm not texting her because she wouldn't give me her number, so I've been messaging her. Yeah, well, she's saying that you're doing it every hour, every half hour today. So she's been getting them. I just think we've got to be setting a few boundaries here, my friend. Right. I know Minogio's a bit freaked out by it. His partner is certainly freaked out by it. Why? I just want to be friends with him. I know, I know, and that's fine, Keezy.

43:47Keyzie:But maybe just lay off the texts and the messaging for a little while. Let me have a word with her. Right. And in the meantime, just maybe back off a little bit because she is totally freaked out. She thinks, I mean, because she knows you're a bit of a pest, a bit of a, you know, the whole porno thing. Oh, did you tell her about that? Well, no, I mean, she listens to the show and she's kind of freaked out. So maybe just back off a bit. I don't want to be handing out any PGs, Keezy. I want to know what her problem is. There's no problem, Keezy. Just. Okay. And you'll sort it? Put it in, mate. Pull it in.

44:18Keyzie:All right? Reign it in? No, pull it in. Right. Thanks, mate. And you'll sort it out. Okay. Uh, coming up, I tell you, you all right, mate? You good, mate? Yeah, I'm all good. You guys all good? Keezy. Keezy, you mad bastard. Totally mad. Keezy, you sick son of a bitch. Hey, uh, mate. Yeah, man. It's all good, mate. Oh, it's all good. Cool, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

But if you're sick of beautiful, beautiful beaches and epic golf courses, there's plenty more to come on there as well. I'm going to head home now. Plus, I'm hosting a dinner party tonight with a few pals and supposed to go to a batch in Snell's Beach this weekend. Classic yarn. It was already booked out by the person's parents.
