0:00Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keyzie. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

0:06Keyzie:Arby Danger there on the Big Show breakfast this Monday morning. The time is 8.49. Very soon we're going to do the Taskmaster$500 competition, fellas.

0:16Mike Minogue:That's right. Outsmarting the Taskmaster. It's back. It started last week, actually. Monday and Tuesday nights on TVNZ2. Keep an ear out. Very shortly we'll get you to call 0800-HAUDAKEN. You'll have a chance to win$500.

0:27Keyzie:Great stuff. Now, on The Big Show, we're very aware that, you know, the world's a tough place, fellas. There's a lot of people that are struggling out there. There's a lot of people that could use the wisdom of The Big Show.

0:39Mike Minogue:Yeah, a lot of that.

0:40Keyzie:So we created an email account called meetpattynip69.

0:44Mike Minogue:At gmail.com.

0:45Keyzie:At gmail.com, where you can email in any concerns you may have, any advice you may need, and we address it as a team.

0:53Mike Minogue:That's right. It's 100 % anonymous, and you get a free rebugger voucher if we read it out on the show. Let's give out some advice now, fellas.

1:09Mike Minogue:This particular email comes from Anonymous. G'day, fellas. Anonymous here. I'm in my second year at uni down in Dirty Dunners, and I'm currently stuck with a flatmate who I despise.

1:21Keyzie:It is dirty down there too, those bloody students. Shockin' bastards.

1:26Mike Minogue:This guy locks himself in his room and blasts his heater, raking up the power bill like there's no tomorrow. He's also just a massive dork and thinks we're mates. Jeez, steady on. I could maybe put up with his lameness if he wasn't so full on all the time. Looking like I'm going to be stuck flooding with him again next year out of laziness. It's come down to one of the only options. How do I go about it? Do I tell him I hate his guts or head to Facebook to find some randoms or suck it up? Cheers, Anonymous. Great question.

1:56Keyzie:It is a really great question. Geez, I remember that. The resentment and rage you used to feel when you felt like someone had their heater on secretly all the time during winter while you were freezing your ass off.

2:10Mike Minogue:Yeah.

2:10Keyzie:You know what I mean?

2:11Mike Minogue:And it's tough because when you go flatting for the first time, you've come from living with your parents where you didn't pay for any of the power and stuff. So you've got no idea. It's a rude awakening. And you think you're entitled to use your heater as much as you want.

2:23Keyzie:And you've got to pay for food. and stuff up and clean and stuff like that. It's a disaster.

2:29Mike Minogue:It is. Look, it is a tricky one. I've got to be honest with you. I'm getting the vibe that you're the a-hole in this situation. I'm glad you said that. Do you know what I mean? It's like this guy's too friendly. He's full on and a bit of a dork. He's enthusiastic. He's a happy guy. I'm a dork. That's fine. Being a dork's legit. Yeah, I don't know. It feels like you've got to do something about it because, you know, if you don't like him and he thinks you're mates, then there's a responsibility on there for you to either put him straight or move out. I think it's on you to move out. And I know this because I was this, so lazy in that little period of life.

3:10Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah, yeah. 20 years of age. Oh, I can't be bothered finding a new flat. I guess I'll just stay. Yeah, yeah, exactly.

3:16Keyzie:I was a shocking bastard. Yeah. As you can imagine. Look, he's giving me hermit vibes. He seems to me the sort of guy that should maybe go and find a nice little, you know, batch on the coast. Anonymous. Yeah. On the coast and just live by himself. I question why, I'll be honest with you, I question why this kind of guy is even at university. Yes. He strikes me as the kind of guy that should still be at home. He should still be living with his parents. Anonymous. I don't think he's ready to live with other people. Anonymous, yeah. You're not the guy that's... I think he should drop out and move home.

3:49Because I think, where's he from? Huntley. Huntley.

3:53Mike Minogue:Yeah, it says he's from Huntley.

3:55Keyzie:So he should move back in with... With ma and pa. He sounds to me like his parents are divorced.

4:01Mike Minogue:Yeah, he says, hey guys, by the way, I'm from Huntley and my parents aren't together anymore.

4:04Keyzie:And his mum lives in Huntley. So I think that he should drop out of university and go and move back with mum in Huntley.

4:13Mike Minogue:Yeah, he says here, my dad lives in Morrinsville.

4:15Keyzie:No, no, don't do Morrinsville. God, depressing. So drop out and move to Huntley.

4:21Mike Minogue:There you go. some advice for you, breakfast listeners. If you ever need advice of that ilk, get in touch, meetpattynips69 at gmail.com. And the good thing is Anonymous has just won himself 50 bucks worth of rebukes. Yeah, how good?

4:32Keyzie:Just like that. He can eat that when he's at his mum's.

4:34Mike Minogue:They don't have one at Huntley, I don't think.

4:36Keyzie:Oh, right. Here's the cure.

4:38Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

4:42Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Soundgarden there on the big show this afternoon. The time is 4.24. I'm still having to kind of mentally readjust. From breakfast. I was about to say the big show Breakfast, which I might add had a bit of a ring to it. Certainly did, Jase. Hugely popular. Yeah, man. While we're on the subject then, dear, of come down with the fellas there, the posts that we've been putting up have again raised an issue that I've been having, and Jase, you've been having the same issues as me. There's been some concerns, Keezy, been some concerns about your behaviour. And it's probably at the point now where we've got to raise it.

5:24Ideally, we would have brought this up with you off air.

5:26Mike Minogue:Right. But it feels like if we bring it up with you on air, we might get a bit more honesty out of you. So are you talking about the video of Come Dine With Me and stuff like that? There's different videos from all over the joint, but what ends up happening is you end up posting photos from the event inside the comments here. There was one there that went up yesterday on that video from Come Dine With Me, and it's old Keezy on all fours looking over his shoulder while on the dining room table. Now, look, that's sort of a little bit of a through line that we've got. That's what you do any time you get the chance.

5:59Mike Minogue:Yeah, it's a bit of a joke, yeah. But I think that was one step too far for me, man, because it's not hygienic for you to be up on the dinner table where we're eating our food. Especially if it's a hearty beef lasagna. On all fours. Yeah. No, I don't think that's a real photo. I think that's fake, isn't it? No. No. Is it not an AI? There's a whole bunch of them. Is that one, then you've got old pugs there dropping a steamer in your bathroom? Yes. Can I point out one? Well, you think I took a photo of pugs dropping a steamer?

6:30Keyzie:Yes. Can I make the point too, because you might have missed this, Moji. There was one of Keezy on all fours in my lounge with my cat Jizz on his back. That's right. He had Jizz on his back. Well, 100%.

6:43Mike Minogue:When am I going to be on all fours with Jizz on my back? It's AI. die.

6:48Keyzie:Well, my wife said she saw pugs, you know, that you were saying to pugs, hey, take this, take this.

6:54Mike Minogue:Your wife said she saw me tee up that photo.

Read the full transcript

6:57Keyzie:Yes, with pugs.

6:59Mike Minogue:No, it's a fake, I swear it's a fake photo. And you said to pugs, get a load of this. Yes, yeah, yeah. Totally. So what I'm saying is, like, fun's fun. It's just, it is a work environment, man. Look, fellas, I understand why you're worried, but I need you to know that those are not real photos. Those are AI photos. Those are like they've taken me and then made me look like I'm doing something wacky. Like, you know, there's a, yeah.

7:25Keyzie:No, well, how do you feel? Because I didn't mind this one when you guys went to the boxing there. Oh, yeah, yeah. You and Mogi hooking into each other. That's right. That was fine with me, but, I mean, I don't know how you felt about that. Mogi was just very private. Are you saying that that's AI as well? So if that falls into the same category, is that AI? Well, of course it's AI. Because you know it wasn't.

7:46Mike Minogue:What do you mean it was? It's a photo of me and you in tuxedo. Absolutely hooking in. Yeah, yeah. When did that happen? At the boxing, at the old David Nieker fight. You know what he's like, man? He gets a few beers and he starts banging on. Just one, Mogi, just one. Fine, man. Really? When you shut up about it and then doosh, doosh.

8:02Keyzie:Well, he had a few wines and there's always been. I don't remember hooking up with Mogi. There's always been. Can I say this? As an outside observer, a simmering sexual tension between the two of you. And I was actually genuinely concerned that that was going to happen that night. Kese would have a few pinots and then just start hooking in. Well, can I put it to you this way? Now we've put it to bed. We have? Oh, g'day, mate. Oh, hi, mate. Yeah. Look, if you want the chance to win all our on-air competitions and stuff and get amongst the live conversation, tune in to the Hauraki Big Show, Four to seven weekdays on Radio Hauraki and iHeartRadio.

8:47Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

8:53Keyzie:Oasis there on the Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday evening. Oh, mogey and tears whenever this song plays. Yeah. He's crying his heart out, Keezy. But right now it's time for...

9:03Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah, hey, guys. Text here from Steve. What's for tea, New Zealand? With me, Keezy. Easy. That's right, What's for Tea New Zealand. You text 0 on 3483. Tell us what you're eating and what your name is, and you can win a$50 Reburger voucher. Check this one out, fellas. G'day, guys. Sarah here. Jessica Parker. Dame Sarah. What's her face? Sarah Olmer. The cyclist. Sarah Olmerupadi. How awesome was she, by the way? She was good at riding the bicycle, wasn't she? She was very good on a bicycle.

9:40Keyzie:I always remember her winning the gold and being in what they call oxygen deficit after the race, where she was just like heaving on the side of the, after the finish line. What a backbone. Powerful stuff.

9:53Mike Minogue:G'day guys, Sarah, Jessica Parker here.

9:58Mike Minogue:We've got homemade calzone, ham and Mediterranean veg on the menu tonight. I've never had a calzone. Calzone, yeah, that's like a pastry type setup, isn't it? It's like a pizza that you then fold in half and seal and all the fillings are on the inside. Oh, okay. That sounds bloody good then. Yeah, I know. Why have I never eaten that? I don't know, man. You've eaten everything else a billion times. I feel like I have, but what's that about? Yeah, I don't know. That sounds really good.

10:24Keyzie:You like that? Maybe a nice green salad on the side.

10:28Mike Minogue:Mediterranean veg. Oh, right, yeah. By the way, the Mediterranean, Jase, is a C in Europe. Oh, okay. Mediterranean C. G'day, guys. Leighton here. Cue it. That's the one. Sausage surprise. Oh, surprise. Surprise. Tastes like shit. G'day, guys. Nick here. What's his name there? Kyrgios. Kyrgios. That's the one I was thinking of. It's Nick Kyrgios. Kyrgios. Pardon? G'day, guys. Nick Kyrgios here. Baked beans on toast. Nah. Nothing wrong with that. I love it. I love baked beans.

11:07Keyzie:As long as it's white toast, all right? That's my only... You're always stressing that, eh? White toast. It's got to be white. God, banging on about it. And I like to chop a little bit of bacon in there too if I... Oh, rich guy. Rich guy, eh? Rich guy. Cost a living. Ain't touching hoity. And just finish it off with a little lobster tail.

11:33Mike Minogue:G'day, guys. Lee here. Harvey Oswald. Lee here.

11:41Keyzie:Jessica. Jessica Lee.

11:44Mike Minogue:Jessica Lee here. Sweet and sour vegan chicken.

11:48Keyzie:Oh, no.

11:49Mike Minogue:What the hell is vegan chicken? Oh, dang. You know, I used to do that sort of stuff. I used to be eating that stuff. There's a whole bunch of different ones. They make some in New Zealand. It was actually, I say it was really good. It was really good enough, you know? Yes. It made you feel like you were getting the meat. Yes. But in hindsight, you know, God knows what it's made of. No. You know? And I don't. Neither. What about this one here? It doesn't say who the person is, but it's very detailed, all right? Go on. G'day, guys. Tonight we're having leftover chicken and bacon nachos. Layered that in a dish, then made a solid mash with seasoned cumin, paprika, garlic powder, spring onion, sour cream, and chive dip and lots of butter.

12:35Mike Minogue:Three layers of three different types of cheese, baked, served with salsa, guacamole, and sour cream.

12:45Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

12:51Keyzie:The Verve there on the Hauraki Big Show this Wednesday afternoon. The time is 5.13.

12:57Mike Minogue:Fellas, I'm going to Japan in a couple of weeks' time, my first ever time going there. I do have Japanese heritage, so it's a very exciting time for me. and I thought I'd bring in our producer Pugsan because he actually lived in Japan for a while. Ooh, it's Pugsan. Afternoon, fellas. How are you? Thanks for having me. Wow, it's Keezy that wanted you. How long did you live there? I didn't know you lived there. Oh, look, honestly, one of the great times of my life. If I didn't go there, I wouldn't be who I am today. You were Pugsan. Yeah, yeah, totes. Because you came back and sort of got rid of your old name and just became Pugsan.

13:33Mike Minogue:For a while, you were James. Yeah, when I first started here. I remember those days, man. Yeah, totally. Completely different person. But yeah. Now you're all beret and sort of three-quarter pants and tasseled shoes. Just like they do in Japan, man. Really? Yeah, they get it. Completely different. Well, that's why I've got you in here because I'm heading there. So do they wear beret? Yeah, man. Beret in Japan. 100%. That's like their thing. Right. Come on, Keezy. Even I knew that. I thought it was like a friend. In Japan, can I get like a burger? You know what I mean? Keezy. Like if I need to, can I get a burger?

14:07Mike Minogue:Are you serious, man? Yeah, 100%. We're talking about Japan here. Yeah, I know. Are you worried about getting a burger over there? I don't know if you know this, Pugs-san, but Keezy hates sushi. Yeah. It's sort of Japanese food. Any seafood.

14:21Keyzie:He hates seafood. If any description. He doesn't like rice. No. Or seaweed. Yeah. Or cucumber. Yeah, or noodles.

14:30Mike Minogue:Cucumber, huge in Japan, man. They love it. So do they have burgers over there or what? all you've sort of done is just ask me that. That sort of bring us full circle to his question about the burgers. Nah, man. There's no burgers in Japan. They don't have any burgers. Nah. Shit. Do they speak English over there? In Japan? Yeah. Because I can't speak Japanese and I'm like, oh, shit, I'm leaving in a couple of weeks. Let's just say you'll need your Google Translate, man. Yeah, yeah. Google Translate. Okay. Put it that way. Is it an app or a Japanese dictionary? Yeah. Do you have any helpful phrases or anything, Pugsan, that I could like, you know, like, you know what I mean?

15:06Konnichiwa.

15:07Mike Minogue:What is that? Oh, what's that? Because that's hello, isn't it? That's Japanese for kia ora. Ah. Yeah, yeah. Great stuff, mate. Have you got any pugs? Sayonara. Heard of that, bro? Yeah, that's like C is catch you up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Catch you up. Yeah, man. Yeah, yeah. How do you say thank you? Like if someone's given me a delicious burger or if I've managed to track one down or I've just like forced myself to eat some cucumber and rice and that. How do I say thank you? Come on, man. We talked about this at dinner the other day. My partner told you. What is it? Arigato. Arigato. Okay. Arigato.

15:44Toe. Yeah, arigato. I thought it would be like to. No. No. Based on what?

15:51Mike Minogue:Jeez, the more you're going on, the more I'm worried about you, Keezy. Do they have their own currency or whatever? Because I've only got New Zealand dollars. Do I have to get something converted into the Japanese dollar? Yeah, man, they have yen over there. Japanese yen. I have heard of the yen. Okay. Do I need a visa? I didn't, but I don't know if that's because they kind of just, they caught a vibe. So you didn't need a visa. You thought they caught a virus.

16:20Keyzie:Sorry? They caught a virus.

16:21Mike Minogue:Sorry, Jase, a vibe. Yeah, yeah. It's like a virus. Yeah, yeah. So you don't think I need a visa? But like, cool. Huh? You don't think I need a visa? You probably need one, bro. I do? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Especially if you don't speak Japanese. Okay, I'll get one, because at the moment I've only got MasterCard.

16:42Mike Minogue:What's matcha? What's matcha? Matcha. There's lots of matcha over there. Let me tell you this, man. None of this BS that you get over in Aotearoa, man. That's all fake. When you go to Japan, you get the real thing. You get the real matcha. I've never even heard of it. Matcha. Because I've heard, like, matcha, matcha, man. If I tried to explain matcha to you, Keezy, man. Right. Head Explode Okay There's just some things that You only pick up from living there For the Like the amount of time that I lived there How long did you live there? It just changes who you are How long did you live there? What's that?

17:13Mike Minogue:13 days

17:18Mike Minogue:So you were just on holiday over there? Yeah a couple of weeks A couple of mates Why have you changed your entire name and personality then? It wasn't my idea Hey Pugs Hey

17:29Keyzie:Sayonara mate

17:30Mike Minogue:Boom! Thanks fellas
