In short
The Hauraki Big Show (Jace, Mike, Keyzie) covers three segments: bizarre Ryanair incident news (a 61-year-old man partially sucked through a plane window during takeoff from northern Greece to Germany, saved by passengers after a loud bang and oxygen masks dropping), a mental-health/engagement check-in about Keyzie seeming distracted during breakfast radio, and “Tradie of the Day” celebrating plumbers with jokes and listener texts.
Guest backgrounds
No external guests; only the hosts (Jace, Mike, Keyzie) and references to listener callers/texts.
Key claims

Notable examples
Ryanair flight incident details; Keyzie’s chicken sandwich and “brewing/percolating” banter; plumber nicknames (turd burglars, pipe pushers, u-benders, tap jockeys, drip monkeys).

0:06Keyzie:The exponents there on the Big Show breakfast this Monday morning.
0:11Mike Minogue:Fellas, I've got some news. What's on the news? With me, Keyzie. Over to Europe now where a flight was happening and a man got sucked through a window. mid-flight. Sorry, he got what? He got sucked through the window. Wow. I know. Because that sort of thing I have heard happens on the ground. What do you mean? There's that toilet up there in back of Ponsonby. No, no, sorry. He got sucked out of the window. He got partially sucked through the window of a plane.
0:54Keyzie:Oh, right. Well, I mean, but hang on. Those plane windows are tiny. No, I know. It's just like a little hole.
1:01Mike Minogue:No, no, that's why he didn't fit fully through. But the flight was taking off from northern Greece and heading to Germany. And then he sort of got half sucked out through the window. Man. And the passengers around him. And this guy was 61. 61 years getting sucked through a window. Right. You know, that's no good. Then the other passengers pulled him. They pulled him off. Yeah, yeah. They pulled him off the window. So he was actually saved by the other passengers. Wow. He didn't want to speak to media, but it was a Ryanair flight, which is like your budget airline. Yeah, no windows. Wow, there was a window.
1:37Mike Minogue:It wouldn't work without a window.
1:39Keyzie:That is very funny because I was looking for cheap air flights. Air flights. Is that what you Googled? Is that what you typed into Google? Cheap air. And Ryan came up. And I went, oh, I never heard of those guys. And now people are getting sucked off through the window. Sucked out. Sucked out through the window, sorry.
1:59Mike Minogue:So the thing with Ryanair, they started this sort of budget travel kind of. Was that their thing? Oh, that's their thing. Which, you know, on the surface, geez, I'm king. But then when you look further into it, it turns out sucked out. Sucked out the window. This is a quote from the... Passengers told Greek media they heard a loud bang. Oxygen masks dropped and the plane began to lose altitude. That would have been when he was getting sucked out the window there Yeah Do you know what broke the window, Kesey? I don't know, it just says here that Passengers panicked screen One was being partially sucked out the window Whole neck His whole head, neck and shoulders were pulled out of the window And he would have just been sort of flopping against the side of the plane there Yeah, like Yeah Like you're getting those sail yards with the little
2:48Keyzie:Yeah, blow up With the inflatable ass Yeah, yeah Was he doing that, was he? Oh, I don't know That would have been weird
2:53Mike Minogue:I've got, I don't know, I'm just sort of, but anyway, yeah, that's what's in the news. Well, that's good. That's good, Keezy. That's the sort of standard I expect. Okay. All right. That's from four days ago. That was your best one yet by far. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
3:10Keyzie:Smashing pumpkins there on the Big Show breakfast this Tuesday morning. I've just been delivered a coffee, fellas. This is going to tip me over the edge. Now, listen, we just like to check in with each other and with the public out there, sort of a mental health check-up because, Keezy, I'm just getting the vibe that you're really struggling with breakfast.
3:34Mike Minogue:Is this another mental health check-in where it's just me? Well, the thing about it is that Jason and I are loving the mornings. We're morning people. Yes, we are. I'm loving it too. And so the vibe that we've been getting certainly this morning is that you're not loving it, so just need to check in and make sure you are all good. Right. Look, I am great. I am really enjoying getting up in the mornings, coming in, doing the old radio thing with you fellas. Yeah. It's great. Well, it's just we get a bit of chit-chat going on between when the songs are playing, all that sort of stuff, and we sort of notice that you sort of tune out.
4:07Yes. Sort of get lost in your phone or sort of admin. You don't engage. And so the vibe is that you're just not in the voice. You'd rather not be here. Thank you.
4:18Keyzie:Because you brought in a really lovely chicken sandwich in a chiyabata bun. That's right. With a bit of salt and pepper. And Mogi and I were like, oh, that's great, Keezy. What are you running there?
4:30Mike Minogue:Mogi's like, what have you got in there, Sam? What have you got in that sandwich, man? Eh? What's in that sandwich? And I can tell that he's shit-steering. And I'm going to say, oh, I don't know, chicken. He's going to go, oh, chicken sandwich, eh? Oh, Keezy. That's the sort of shit that gets said in here. And I just couldn't be bothered. So I said, it's just got chicken in it. All right? And then you, you keep banging on about needing to go poos. Can you hurry up and go?
4:52Keyzie:Well, I need a two-song sweep.
4:54Mike Minogue:Yeah, well, no, but there's ads and a song coming up. Oh, okay. All right. Well, with Jase, in defense of him, it has been brewing all morning. But he keeps telling me, and I don't care. It's like I don't sit here telling you guys about my backstage. Backstage? That's what I'm calling it now. Backdoor. So if I'm honest, that sort of stuff I tune out for.
5:14Keyzie:Well, I mean, it's just all about being connected with each other. That's right. You know, and I just feel sharing that sort of stuff with you, and your eyes are very hooded at the moment, which is just a sign that you're not all G.
5:26Mike Minogue:Because you keep saying to me, oh, it's percolating, it's brewing. No, seriously, though, Kesey, it's brewing. And that's all the convo you've got off air.
5:33Keyzie:But other than that stuff, you're all good?
5:36Mike Minogue:Oh, I'm stoked. I am loving it.
5:38Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
5:39Mike Minogue:And to be honest, it doesn't matter what time of day it is, if you're talking to me about that stuff or asking what's in my sandwich, I'm probably going to get wound up regardless. Right. Yeah. Well, you know, what was in the sandwich? Chicken. Did you have a split chicken last night? No, I didn't have a split chicken. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
6:03Keyzie:Red Hot! Chilli peppers here on the Hauraki breakfast this Wednesday morning. The time is 8.59. The score in the soccer still, Spain 2, France 0.
6:16Mike Minogue:And 90 minutes, fellas, it's all over, over. It is, yeah. Seven minutes of extra time. We've got about nine seconds left. She's done, dusted Spain. We'll be into the final, taking on either England or Argentina.
6:28Keyzie:I think it'll be Argentina quietly, but anyway.
6:31Mike Minogue:Oh, it's all over. It is all over, yeah. Oh, right. That's what I was just saying. Fellas, last night I had a dream. I had a dream. and it feels like it's left me with a bit of an odd feeling. I just want to run it past you. It's actually involved one of the big show team. Right, yeah. Wasn't it a lucid dream? I don't know really what that means, but it felt very, very, very real. And it was actually you and me, Keezy. We were working very closely on a television project. We'd been funded and we didn't have very much time to get it over the line. So we'd been funded for a show. We got funding for a TV show.
7:14Yeah, okay. And it was a hell of a lot of money. It was make or break. If we did a good job of it, that was us. Our careers were sorted. Wow. So very late nights working on the scripts, working in very close proximity with each other.
7:30Mike Minogue:Was it a factual sort of TV show? Was it like a sitcom-y type vibe? It was a sitcomie slash sports presentation slash hosting game of two halves slash horror. You know in dreams how things don't quite make sense, but they make complete sense. There's nothing I could have used in the real world. But point being, we were working very, very closely together. And over those months of doing very, very long hours, 16, 17, 18 hours, you fell in love with me. That doesn't sound. And it got to the point where you were consistently and constantly asking me out on a date, asking me to go out with you, telling me how you felt about me, et cetera, et cetera.
8:09And I'll be honest with you, I had feelings for you as well, very flattered. But the problem is in the dream and in real life, I'm married. So in the dream, I'm saying to you, Keezy, look, man, I think the world of you. I think you're a huge talent. you know not much to look at but great personality and I really I really do vibe with you but it's just not going to work right yeah okay and you sort of took that in your stride and we kept on working next day what do you know you're asking me again and before you know it the novelty is sort of worn off and it's starting to get a little bit pushy so I've really had to I've really had to take your side there and just say look Kesey I've made it very clear how I feel here right I'm just not into it, man.
8:54But why not, though? And so I'm just going to say that to you again here now. I'm not into it. Alright? So, I just need you to stop asking me because I'm married. You need to remember that you're married. No, totally. We work very closely together. I don't think it'll be good for the show. I'm just not... Well, that's not true. I am into it, but it just simply would not work. You got that, Keezy?
9:21Keyzie:Well, yeah. I mean, he's talking about a dreamy That's so weird, Mogi. What part of it? No, I mean. All of it? No, the dream's very real. No, it's not. I had a very similar dream about you and I. Oh, right. The only difference being we went out at Hammer and Tongs. Yeah, that sounds right. That sounds right.
9:45Mike Minogue:Right, hang on. No, hang on. Why are you in the dream? In the dream, why are you saying yes to him and going, and I quote, hammer and tongs? But with me, it's annoying and it could ruin the show. Well, because the thing with you, Keezy, is you're a clingy bastard. Yeah, right. And Jase. You're needy. Okay. And this was all in the dream, right? So it's not unreal. So I'm just saying to you now. Right. Not happening. Okay. Sorry. But what was it about Jase that made you say, you know. Well, drink them in, then. Thank you, Mogi. Have a geese. Oh, yeah. What are you up to after this, Jase? The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Kesey.
10:27Mike Minogue:Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
10:30Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Kings of Leon there on the Big Show breakfast this Thursday morning. The time is 6.47, and we're all about in the Big Show celebrating the backbone of this nation, i.e. the tradie. So let's get into trade of the day.
10:50Mike Minogue:Trade of the Day. Lots of texts coming through, fellas. 3483. William wants backbone accountants to be shouted out. Backbones. Lucas wants diesel mechanics to be the trade of the day. Painters, forklift operators, field service mechanics from Blair. Can I just say I don't think a forklift operator is a trade? No, I was thinking the same thing. No. I could drive a car. Is that a trade? I guess it is if you're an Uber driver. Or you're a courier. Or yeah. Kitchen installers, mechanics, fabricators. But today's trade. Fabricators? What?
11:26Keyzie:They just make shit up.
11:27Mike Minogue:No, fabricators. Like steel fabricators. Fabricating anything, using anything. Fabricating.
11:33Keyzie:Doesn't sound real to me. Making stuff up.
11:35Mike Minogue:My dad's a fabricator. I know. He tells a good story. No, he didn't. Today's trade of the day. overwhelmingly plumbers. Hey, how good?

11:48Keyzie:Well, they are... What? Absolute backbones. I mean, they are down and dirty, the plumbers. Turd burglars. Turd burglars, pipe pushers.
12:01Mike Minogue:I had plumbers at my house yesterday. Oh, yes.
12:04Keyzie:How'd they go?
12:05Mike Minogue:They were under my house, lying in a pool of mud because my shower had been leaking for like, I don't know, 50 years. and they got it sorted. They're backbones. They are backbones. You know when you call up a shit whisperer, they're getting a real backbone. That's a great nickname. I had a guy, we knew back in school, as a mate of my dad's, Mr. Plop. Was his nickname? Was he a plumber? I think so.
12:37Mike Minogue:Jason, have you got any plumber anecdotes? U-benders. U-benders, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's another nickname for them. They love a U-bend.
12:48Mike Minogue:P-trappers. Turd herders.
12:55Mike Minogue:Um, washer.
13:01Mike Minogue:Smelly bastards. Sticky bastards, yeah.
13:08Mike Minogue:Tap jockeys. Oh, yeah. Oh, that's a good one. Yeah.
13:15Drip monkeys. Drip monkey, yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:21Mike Minogue:Plug something. Lords of the Ring pieces. Oh, that's a good one. Oh, yeah, that's good. So, yeah, trade of the day, plumbers, big shout out if you are a plumber. Totally, man. And have your chest out today. Yeah, we value you. Yeah, yeah. Walk around with your chest out today. You are the Hauraki Big Show's trade of the day. Yeah. It's good stuff, fellas.
