In short

The Hauraki Big Show’s “work sugar daddy” segment, plus workplace “show meetings” about coworkers’ habits. They debate banning Keezy from calling show meetings, then roast Pugs’ constant hunger and odd eating (cream cheese/cottage cheese, tiny apples, tofu, chips). Later, they discuss quitting chips/vaping/booze and consider legal “gummies” and kava sessions for a buzz, including a Fiji kava story. Finally, they play “work wife” matchmaker: Keezy and Jase/Pugs are framed as work spouses/husbands/wives, with Keezy jokingly labeled a “work sugar daddy” because he pays for coworkers’ food.

Guests/backgrounds

Jace, Mike, Keezy (regular hosts). No external guests. Pugs is a coworker referenced in banter.

Key claims

“Show meetings” should be banned for Keezy; Pugs needs to eat more; kava is “dirt water,” numbs mouth, can cause giggles; work spouses are based on trust/help (tech, passwords, wipes, inside jokes, winks); Keezy is “sugar daddy” due to paying for chippies/kebab/pork shammai.

Notable examples

Pugs eating a tablespoon of cottage cheese; Jase eating one cracker with tomato; Keezy’s Fiji kava arranged via a kids-club waiter; work-wife coffee order (flat white, two sugars/four sugars confusion).

0:00The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keyzie. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

0:06Keyzie:Nirvana there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is 5.36. Fellas, is it okay if I call a show meeting? No. Not really. Why? I'm over you calling a show. I'm almost tempted to call a show meeting about you calling show meetings. Perfect.

0:21Mike Minogue:Here we go. He just said he wants to call a show meeting. Fire it off, pugs. Show meeting! Thank you. Show meeting! Show meeting.

0:27Keyzie:Show me the meeting. Show meeting is now in progress. Can we have a show meeting about you talking over that sting? Well, Jase doesn't have to be today, but...

0:38Mike Minogue:Right. Sure, we can do that after this break maybe.

0:41Keyzie:You know, there's always in every flat or work situation some whiny, oh, someone ate my eggs. Probably you. That'd piss me off, yeah. Can you please not, you know, leave your pubes in the shower box sort of thing? What the hell's a shower box? You know, and so I want to propose that we ban Keezy from calling show meetings.

1:09Mike Minogue:But I'm like the organiser of the group. You know, I'm like the guy who's, you know. You're the anal guy. Yeah, I'm anal guy. Yeah, cool.

1:16Keyzie:Can you write that in the doc, actually? No, I'll put it in the bio. I'll put it in the bio on the instant. Yeah, no, good. So it'll be Mike Jason anal guy.

1:26Mike Minogue:The hell is that noise? Seriously, guys, the reason I call show meetings is because, you know, a meeting is really good for getting everyone on the same page. You can talk it out. You don't do it over email. You don't do it in the group chat. You discuss it, all right?

1:38Keyzie:You know that we tune out when you have show meetings. No, you tune out.

1:42Mike Minogue:The listeners don't. They love it. They're very much tuned in to Hodaki whenever I call a show meeting. 3483. The reason I'm calling a show meeting is it's about pugs. Hello. And his eating habits. Okay.

1:53Keyzie:Oh, thank God. I thought you were going to, yeah.

1:55Mike Minogue:All right, so you're on board with this?

1:57Keyzie:I'm on board with this What did you think he was going to do? Bit of filth

2:02Mike Minogue:It's Pugs' eating habits in particular We'll address his other habits at maybe a show meeting tomorrow But have you noticed, Jase, that Pugs And you're looking good, man

2:13Keyzie:He's looking hot, eh?

2:14Mike Minogue:Every single day Every day He says to me, I'm so hungry Yeah, I'm sick of it

2:20Keyzie:I'm sick of it I think if I'm saying it to Chris, I'm not saying it to you

2:24Mike Minogue:Pugs, hang on Jace, we're going to have to have a show meeting about you guys, the beef you've quite clearly got, by the way. Every day, I'm so hungry. I'm so hungry. And they go, eat something. And then I look out there, he's eating a tablespoon of cream cheese or something ridiculous like that. Cottage cheese. Cottage cheese. Thank you. Or he's eating an apple, and it's the tiniest apple you've ever seen. Yeah.

2:44Keyzie:Or it's a block of tofu.

2:46Mike Minogue:Or a whole block of tofu. Pugs. Hello. You need to sort out your eating, man. What do you mean, man?

2:51Keyzie:Get a pie in you, for God's sake. Guys.

2:54Mike Minogue:Eat a pie. And also, or do what Jase does and just walk in, bitch about being hungry, then eat all the chips. I think you'll find Jase is in no position to be talking to me about eating food at all. He has like one cracker a day with a slice of tomato on it. That's right. And look at him. He's cut. Have you seen my gutters, Pugs? On your chest. On my chest. So, Pugs, I need you to eat more. Yeah. Guys, or you're not allowed to say that I'm hungry.

3:21Keyzie:If you could just eat a tenth of what Keezy eats, you'll be on the right track. Oh, hang on.

3:25Mike Minogue:No, I want another show meeting about that because that's fat shaming. You can't do that to me. We're not doing that again. You want to do that now? No. It's all good. Just something to think about anyway, fellas. I will think about it, man. I think about it all the time because I'm hungry all the time.

3:42Keyzie:Keezy's gutters have blown out with like leaves and stuff like that. With his downpipe? Yeah, his downpipe. But, you know, then again, in case he gets the old stomach cling on. So you've got to be careful. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Fleetwood Mac there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday evening. Fellas, you know, old hoody Jay's given up everything.

4:08Mike Minogue:Right.

4:09Keyzie:You know, I've given up the chips now. That's going to be a battle. How long has it been? Like an hour or something? Yeah, it's been an hour and a half so far without chips. I don't really do the booze anymore. Smoking. Smoking. I don't smoke. Vaping. No, I still vape. Oh, okay. I just don't bring my vape to work. And I'm thinking, you know. You've given up bringing in good content too, fellas.

4:35Mike Minogue:Yeah, Jase. What were you saying? I was just joking around.

4:38Keyzie:What were you saying? You know, I know that, you know, you guys, for example, like to go home and punch a few beersies, a few wines. Every now and then.

4:47Mike Minogue:Every now and then. Not every day.

4:49Keyzie:Whatever, Christopher. He's a two-bottle man. That's what I hear. Two bottles of wine, Keezy. And I'm thinking I've got to find something. And actually, you know, you might be able to help me with this, Pugsung, because I know you're into your drugs. Oh, big time. You know, just to give me – I want something to give me a little buzz. Okay. You know, a little buzz. Now, I've been looking for gummies.

5:14Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah. Right.

5:15Keyzie:And I'm talking legal here. I'm not talking – you know, I'm talking – and whether that's a possibility. but I'm seriously considering getting into kava sessions. Oh, wow, Fijian styles. Yeah, Fijian styles because I've watched a few of them and I go, that's a bit of hoity, Jay. Have you ever tasted it? I have. It's disgusting. Dirt water. Yeah, it's fouled and it sort of numbs your mouth. Numbs your mouth, makes your tongue feel weird. Yeah, yeah. Have you done a lot of kava, have you, Keezy? Uh, not. Oh, kava, Keezy.

5:45Mike Minogue:Not throughout my life but certainly on one specific weekend. Yes. I did a lot of kava. Do not mix it with alcohol, by the way, responsibly. You will have night terrors.

5:54Keyzie:This will be separately and of itself. Right, okay. What was the sort of buzz that you got from it?

6:00Mike Minogue:It made me personally feel quite happy and like... Horny. I mean, I don't need to know... So I said happy. Oh, right, yeah, yeah. Sorry, man, yeah, yeah. I always get those two mixed up as well. Yeah.

6:11Keyzie:Well, it's the same thing, isn't it? Happy, horny?

6:13Mike Minogue:Well, I like to differentiate between the two. Right, sure. I don't need one to be with the other at all times.

6:17Keyzie:What I'm saying is I'm happy when I'm horny.

6:19Mike Minogue:Right. So why don't you just take some Viagra or something then?

6:22Keyzie:Well, I already am doing that. Right. Yeah, yeah. But getting back to the carver.

6:27Mike Minogue:Made my lips feel all tingly. My tongue went weird. And after a while, you have to drink quite a lot of it from my experience. After a while, it did make me just seem a wee bit giggly and things were just funny. But it might have been because I was on a beach in Fiji responsibly steamed. Yeah. Oh. Are we going to hone some while we're over there? Shall we do that, fellas?

6:49Keyzie:A kava session.

6:50Mike Minogue:Absolutely. We'll have a kava session over in Fiji. Because last time I organised it by paying one of the waiters at the, it was the guy from the kids club. He was literally dressed up in like a traditional Fijian outfit. He had a torch and he was leading all the kids around lighting all the tiki torches. Yes. And then one of the other waiters was like, oh, if you want some kava, talk to Blah Blah, who does the kids club. So he was walking past. I was like, hey, man, can you get us some kava? He's like, yeah, man, I'll finish it at 8.30. We'll meet out on the beach and I'll bring everything. It'll be like 50 bucks or something.

7:18Mike Minogue:and we had a carver session. It was great. Let's do that. 50 bucks. Well, I'll pay for some. I'll put like 20 bucks in. And Pugsan can cover the rest.

7:27Keyzie:Well, no. But anyway, okay, shall we commit to that? Yeah, okay. I'm keen. We're going to have a carver session on our Fiji sojourn.

7:35Mike Minogue:Yep, sounds great, Jason. Let's do that.

7:37Keyzie:Do you still want the drugs? Yeah, we'll talk about that off air if you don't mind, Pugsan. The Horaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Yes, indeed, Led Zeppelin there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show. This Wednesday afternoon, the time is 23 minutes past four o 'clock. We're talking work wives, and we've discovered, Keezy and I, that our work wife isn't an actual fact. Oh, Pug-san. Yeah. Sort of a work love triangle happening here.

8:09Mike Minogue:Yeah, but your work wife is your girlfriend you've been with for like a month or something upstairs. So you're moving really quickly with this whole other person And Jason and I think that you are actually our work wives So we're your work husbands I can be your, listen, listen I can be your work wives Well that's good But my work wife is upstairs Is my partner upstairs with the big dogs Yeah So just to like I'm just doing a bit of research here onto the work wife situation It doesn't say anything about having more than one work wife Or work husband in your case Yeah, yeah Because you've got two

8:43Keyzie:Because I've got to be honest with you, I'm feeling slightly put out that, you know, you've got two work husbands at this point.

8:50Mike Minogue:Well, it does say here that a work wife usually won't put out. So you're putting Jase out. So you're saying I should put out for Jase? Wait, what are you talking? Oh.

9:00Keyzie:Well, I mean put out in the sense of. Oh, you're feeling put out. I'm feeling put out. Oh, sorry. Not that Pugs is adverse to putting out with him and I. I was going to say. Totally, yeah.

9:11Mike Minogue:Well, I've just got a list of characteristics here for what your work wife or husband or just work spouse is. Lover. Hang on, Jase. A work spouse is someone you trust to help you navigate the challenges of the workplace. I'd say that's Pugs. Yeah, definitely. Jase, like, for example, when you're like, oh, which way do my headphones go on? This way or this way? Pugs is the guy you go to. Oh, which one's my swipe card? Yeah, yeah, yeah. All that technical stuff. That's where Pugs will have. Oh, I can't remember the password to my computer. Yeah. I haven't quite cracked that one. No, that's impossible.

9:47Keyzie:I've done poos. Can you wipe me?

9:51Mike Minogue:Totally. Are you doing that for him? Because I don't get that. Well, you haven't asked. Good to know. And I'm only two wipes, so it's not that big of a deal. Yeah, no, it's pretty quick. Inside jokes and a shared understanding. Do you often share a catalogue of inside jokes and running commentaries? Yeah, well, funnily enough, I don't know if you've noticed this, Keezy.

10:12Keyzie:Old Pugs will often give me a little wink. He always does that. Yeah, what's that about? Yeah, he's always, it's just a little thing that we have. Right. You know, you might say something and it's just something that Pugs and I sort of, you know. Yeah, no. Yeah. Is it? There goes Keezy again. Yeah, classic.

10:29Mike Minogue:And it's only after I say something. Yeah, generally. Usually, yeah. Right, because you wink at me as well. Huh? Pugs, you wink at me all the time too, but not after Jace has said something. Just randomly. Come on, man. Not in front of my other work wife, please. This colleague may know your coffee order. Do you know Jase's coffee order? A flat white. With? With a two-shot, double-shot flat white. Two, what is that? What is that?

10:54Keyzie:Two sugars. Oh, yeah, two sugars. Yeah, two sugar flat white. No, I do. No, yeah. No, because you just watched. Hey, Jase. Really? To be honest, I don't drink coffee when I come to work.

11:03Mike Minogue:He wouldn't know. Also, it's a flat white with four sugars. Maybe you're my work wife, Jase. maybe you're my work sugar daddy. Is that what's happening? Quite possibly. Because we could just cut Pugs out of the picture because he's got his work wife, which is his partner of about one month, who he's decided is his wife at work.

11:19Keyzie:Is his wife already, yeah. Well, hang on, a work sugar daddy, wouldn't that mean he's like paying for stuff for you at work and you're like putting out in return?

11:26Mike Minogue:So, because you don't pay for anything at work. I'm always paying for stuff. You know, like we'll be out and it'll be like, oh, Keezy, can you buy me chippies? Some pork shammai from the sushi shop. Yeah, give us a kebab or something. Yeah, I'll always pay for it. So are you my sugar daddy then? I think I'm Jase's sugar daddy. Work sugar daddy? Yeah. Do you want to be a regular sugar daddy? Absolutely. The Hauraki Beat Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
