0:00Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Thanks to Craveworthy Street Food. Freshly made with Reburger. Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show.

0:12Keyzie:With Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh g'day you mad bastards. Great to have your company this Tuesday afternoon. It is the 22nd of September 2026. And you my friends as always, listening to The Big Show brought to you by Reburger. Moogie.

0:29Mike Minogue:Craveworthy street food freshly made with Reburger. Reburger.

0:34Keyzie:Yeah, great stuff. We're back on the Arvos, fellas, after doing a little stint on breakfast. Have you fully recovered, Moogie, you massive stallion? I've got to be honest with you, man. I'm going pretty grousey, mad dog. Yeah. Sick son of a bee. But I was a little bit low energy until I heard you do the top of the air, because that means we're back on drive, baby. This is where we belong, Kesey. I don't want you getting ahead of yourself, getting above yourself, getting beyond your station and thinking breakfast is where it's at, man. Because it's not it.

1:03Mike Minogue:Man, you've read my mind, Mogey. I was like, shit, I have to find a way to get off this show and get on to breaking. I've already looked into it, man. It can't be done. Not at all? Unfortunately, nah, sadly. 15, 20 years? I'll be gone.

1:16Keyzie:You know, you may have a shot. 20 years? 15 to 20, I reckon. And on this station? On this station. Either that or coast or something. Yeah, I think so, man.

1:27Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah, with Sam Wallace in there. 100%. Yeah, yeah. Good stuff. I think it'll be you and Simon Barnett. Simon Barnett. Oh, well, I'll tell you what. He's pretty good at radio. Yeah, he is. He's very good. You've got a lot to learn off him. Hey, Jase. Yes, Keezy. How are you today? Yeah, good, thank you. You've got your puffer jacket on, man.

1:43Keyzie:Well, we were just discussing before we went on air, the studio has a habit of going up and down in temperature. One moment you're sweating your ass off, the next moment you're freezing your tits off. Yes. So, you know what I mean? It's almost ripe to get ill. You know what I'm saying? That constant fluctuation of temperature, Moogie. I completely agree with you, man. But, you know, look, we've been here for five and a half years and nothing's changed. You've just got to suck it. You've got to shut up and get on with it, man. Totally, man. Be your goddamn backbone.

2:13Keyzie:What's happening on the big show with old Moogies? Well, another day. It's another opportunity to hear about Jace's inability to plan trips. You've got a holiday coming up, man. Man, you've had an absolute shocker. Yeah, I have. We're going to be hearing all about that. Also going to be having a look at what we can do around this WAZ situation. Now, I know people think there's a bit of sour grapes banging on about it. Haven't we talked about it enough? And frankly, the answer is yes. But we've got a new idea, a way that we can impact Grand Final Day. Even though we're not going to be there, we can find a way to actually be there and have a presence at the ground on that day.

2:51Show our rage. And coming up next, Ol' Keezy. 24 hours on from his come-dine-with-the-fellows scores. Are you going to process your thoughts for us, mate?

3:02Mike Minogue:Yeah, because if our afternoon listeners didn't hear, Ol' Keezy got put through the ringer there in the scoring department from a certain member of the big show. And I think I've had time to process it, and I've got some thoughts now. I've got to say, I am interested to see what happened when you got home and how the conversations with your wife went and how she's feeling about me. It was chill, Mo. Don't worry about it.

3:23Keyzie:Here's Kings of Leon in the meantime, you backbones.

3:26Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

3:31Keyzie:Yes, indeed, smashing pumpkins there on the Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 11 minutes past four o 'clock. Come dine with the feelers. Yes, indeed. We posted the video last night of the Come Dine with the Fowler's Keys, the edition that's going off. as all of them have fellas people love a bit of come dine with me action from the big show

3:57Mike Minogue:100 % Jase it was a massive effort obviously but it was also a massive joy and privilege to have you and your lovely partners at my house yesterday morning on the breakfast show the scores were dealt out and I mean look did one of the hosts of the big show give me the lowest score anyone's given anyone else on this? Yes it did happen did that member of the big show happened to sound exactly like old Mogey. Yes, it did. But I've done some thinking, Mogey. You slammed me there. You gave me a six out of ten for one. I didn't slam you. I gave you a fair school. Yeah. And I've come to terms with it.

4:35Mike Minogue:It's all G. You do your best. And if it doesn't all, it's not always going to work out. My wife, on the other hand, is fuming. I was waiting for your wife. My wife's fuming. Yes. Hey, look, if she wanted a better score, she should have helped you out. Well, I mean, that's a rule. But she hung you out to dry. Well, to be honest, that was a rule. So this is the thing she's fuming about is she was going to help me. Right. And she sort of did. But then we heard the rule, which we didn't know, that I had to cook everything. We were like, oh, God, okay. Oh, no, I don't know if it was a rule because I thought it was a rule, so I did everything myself, and then Jace and his missus worked together.

5:16Mike Minogue:Right. Wow. Yeah. I mean, she made all the pavlova. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I did some of the pavlova stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But she was a help. Yes. Would be my point. Yes. Right, okay. Yeah. And then I guess it was the late reference to, oh, it has to be done on the day. Oh. That's really thrown. It's thrown a cat amongst the pigeons, not only with my wife, but in my wife's family chat. Oh, really? And also my family chat as well. But everyone is just like, but you weren't told. You weren't told. That's not fair. And I'm like, Mum, don't worry about it. It's fine, Dad. It's okay, Don.

5:53Keyzie:It's okay. He was fuming.

5:55Mike Minogue:I was talking to the in-laws as well, and they were like, wait, but you didn't know. And I'm like, it's fine. It's just made a lasagna for the fellas. That's all it is. They're a pretty highly strung bunch, aren't they? Very much so. You have a little bit of fun, a little bit of a dinner party. You chuck out a six. Anyone complaining about the ten I handed out? Also the only person to hand out a ten. Anyone moaning about that? No. No, I don't think so.

6:13Keyzie:I was going to say, actually, one of the things that impressed me by your come dine with me was your family or your wife's family's cookbook. They take their food very seriously. Look, Chase, this is going to fix it. No, it's not. It was very, very – no, I was just very impressed. It was like a proper cookbook.

6:31Mike Minogue:It was, yeah. It's very nice the way they've done that. But unfortunately, I'm now at a crossroads where I have to choose between family or the big show. Yeah. So my wife and I are getting divorced. Yeah, I think so. I think it's the only thing for it. It's the right call. It's the right call. You know, I love the big show. Yeah, yes. This is my whole. That's the thing. This is it. This is my family. That's what I said to her this morning. Yeah. And to be honest, I felt like a weight has been lifted.

6:59Keyzie:Yeah, because she rang me in tears, and she was fuming, Mogi. Oh, and understandably so, Matt. Her husband has let her down terribly. Hey, hey, hey, listen, listen, it's going to be okay. Is that what you said? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's going to be all right. And everyone had a terrific time. That's the important thing. Exactly. So I just thought I'd fill you guys in. Although actually now, you know, I've got a really bad taste in my mouth and not just because of the entree.

7:25Mike Minogue:Moggy.

7:31Keyzie:It's good stuff. Here's Sheehan.

7:35Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

7:41Keyzie:Collective soul there on the Hodaki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 4.37. And as you can imagine, after Sunday's debacle with the Waz, a lot of very, very grumpy fans, fellas. And actually, incidentally, you were talking yesterday, Moggy, about how the Australians were banging on about it as well. Yes. And I was watching a few videos. You were bang on, mate. They weren't happy about it. Nobody's happy about it, Jase, at least of all Warriors fans. And the fact of the matter is, and I know a lot of people feel like they might have heard enough about this, but the Warriors were robbed.

8:14Yeah. We were dudded. Ripped off. Short-changed. We've been stitched up. Short-changed. Thank you very much. And we're probably the best fans in the world. Everybody knows that. We're always telling ourselves that. And we prove it by throwing things at referees. And that's what I love about us. That was sick, man. You know, instead of just losing quietly, we talk about all the ways that we've been dudded and ripped off, even though we didn't play particularly well anyway. And it saved us getting flogged next week by 40 by Penrith.

8:39Mike Minogue:Yeah. I don't care that Tain Tuapuki and Shanzukukukstar and Kirk Capel are all out next week. Nah, nah. We still would have won. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because that's how good we are because it's next man up. Yes. It's next man up.

8:50Keyzie:And they've shown that all season, quite frankly. But the beauty of the Warriors is, you know, we are the best fans out there. Another way that we display this is because over 25 % of the tickets sold for the Grand Final were sold to Kiwis, to Warriors fans, who were sure that the Warriors were going to get there. And so now, of course, you would expect that everybody would sell those tickets to the people that are going to be in the grand final. And we say here at the Horeki Big Show, Warriors fans, do not sell your tickets for the grand final. There is an opportunity for us to have a real impact, even though our team is not going to be there on the day.

9:23And the way that we have that impact is none of us sell our tickets. We keep it. Eat the loss. Eat it. You've got 80 ,000 tickets, 80 ,000 seats at that stadium. 25 % of those are sold to Warriors fans. If 25 % of Warriors fans that have got those, if 100 % of those fans don't sell those tickets, 25 % of that stadium is going to sit empty. Boom. We are going to rob the fans of the teams that are in the grand final of the opportunity to see their own team win a premiership. And how bloody good was that? How on brand would that be for Warriors fans? Yeah, totally.

9:57Keyzie:And can I just say, Mogi's in that situation and he's leading the charge. He's not selling it. I got a ticket. and I'm not selling it, man. I want that seat to sit absolutely empty. I want nobody in it. That's a seat that a seven-year-old kid could sit in and watch their team win. Yes. Why should a seven-year-old get to see their team win when I've been waiting for 32 years? Bugger that. Yeah, agreed. Not on my watch.

10:19Mike Minogue:A seven-year-old Roosters fan or Panthers fan or something. Nah. Yeah, yeah. Get out of here.

10:23Keyzie:Yeah, whatever. So we want you all to come together on this. 3483. See if you'll do it for us. We want you to share the news. Spread the word. If you've got mates over in Australia, friends, whanau, whatever it might be, tell them, hold on to your tickets, take the loss. Just take it. Take the loss. Just take it. Take it.

10:43Mike Minogue:Good stuff.

10:44Keyzie:Give us your thoughts on that idea, by the way, on 3483. In the meantime, there's Iki Pop.

10:49Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

10:53Keyzie:Cage the elephant there on the Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 4.47. Fellas, let's talk TV. What's on the telly? with Mike Minogue.

11:09Keyzie:Yeah! That's correct. Hey fellas, I've started watching a new show. I'm just looking at a review here and it says, Good Bones is a hilarious, mysterious home renovation nightmare. It is a comedy. It's a sitcom, a Kiwi comedy and it's got our mates Josh Thompson, Aidy Walker and Wesley Dowdle are in it. Great cast. It's a great cast. Yes. And it's a story of a man who's sort of forced by his pregnant wife. He's got to step up, Keezer, you know? Sometimes you've got to step up. Yeah. And so he ends up buying an old shitter of a house. He's desperate to get into their first home. And the house is hiding a lot of secrets.

11:50Mike Minogue:Does it have good bones, though? Because I've heard that phrase so much while looking at houses. It might have good bones. It's got terrible skin. Yes. The skin is hideous. A lot of muscle wastage. Yeah, absolutely. So he sort of goes about renovating it with some weirdo that turns up, played by Wesley Dowdle. And as they go along, the house reveals its secrets. A woman may or may not have been buried somewhere on the property. You know what I mean? Bricked up somewhere. Bricked up. Exactly that. Right, okay. I've watched the first couple of episodes. It's on three now or TV three. I think the whole series is available to watch now.

12:26I'm two in, so hard to know. but so far, four buzies out of a possible five buzies.

12:31Keyzie:Wow, that's good stuff. Good bones. Hey, well, last night I was doing the classic Samsung TV shuffle. Sheena. And funnily enough, that's where I ended up again. You know, what I, because, you know, it's just on rotate.

12:48Mike Minogue:If you want, I could talk about the TV show I watched.

12:50Keyzie:No, I just want to say. The buzzy movie again. Because often people, you know, they go, oh, I've already seen this three times. I need to see it a fourth. But actually, I find there's always something new that you find in every viewing. You know what I mean? If you watch it carefully enough. Correct, Moggy.

13:09Mike Minogue:Do you ever pause it and, like, notice stuff? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

13:12Keyzie:Exactly that. It's like, oh, I never saw that before. You know, that came out in 3D. Did it?

13:20Mike Minogue:Hey, that's Sheena. It's on Samsung TV. and it's a mid-80s film with lots of nudity in it. Last night we watched another episode of the TV show I was talking about with the fabulous guy who goes on these amazing trains overseas. Yes. It's called Jonathan Fangs, P-H-A-N-G, Gourmet Trains. And it's on YouTube. I'm disappointed to say it. I like the sound of this. It's great because last night he went on a train, and he's great, he's a British broadcaster, really big fella. He's obviously a food critic or something. And he went on a train from Venice to London. and it's like an Orient Express type train.

13:55Mike Minogue:The carriages are like 100 years old. It's all exactly like an Agatha Christie novel. Yes. And along the way he hopped out and ate food here and here and here and there. And then my wife and I was like, let's look up the price of a ticket on that train. Fully sold out, but for an entry-level cabin just to go there. It's like a one and a half day trip. Is that all it is? I think so. You sleep overnight and make your way there. Yeah. $18 ,000 New Zealand dollars for my wife and I to go. Wow. That's for the entry level without adding any champagne or anything. Wow. But I was like, that's bloody. And then I think, do you pay for food?

14:28Mike Minogue:I'm not sure. Yeah, God knows. Well, you'd hope for that. That's a bit of a dampener.

14:32Keyzie:You know, you'd have it all spread out for you. Definitely a buffet breakfast, surely.

14:37Mike Minogue:Well, it's not buffet. It's like, you know, the dishes are all like something, something, lobster, this, and like really decadent, amazing. Yeah, right. And beluga caviar and stuff like that.

14:48Keyzie:I might have a look into that, actually. Sounds like right up my alley.

14:52Mike Minogue:Have you got your pen? Do you want to write it down?

14:53Keyzie:You know, that'd be a good place for our Christmas party this year. Yes, good thinking, Mogi.

14:56Mike Minogue:Do you know what, though? We figured out you could recreate that by eating Reburger on the City Rail link. So why don't you just do that?

15:03Keyzie:Come on, Keezy, man.

15:06Mike Minogue:It's on YouTube, by the way, if you want mindless TV watching. What's his name again there? Jonathan Fangs, Gourmet Trains. Righto, it's on the list. You love trains, eh, Mogi? I do, man.

15:15Keyzie:Is faith no more?

15:18Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

15:22Keyzie:Faith no more there on the Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon, the time 4.56.

15:28Mike Minogue:Hey, a reminder that we are currently running a promotion with Emerson's. It's called Name Our Beer, and you can win a sweet Emerson's hoodie, bloody high-quality hoodies. We've just been sent them.

15:37Keyzie:They're bloody good, actually.

15:38Mike Minogue:They are bloody good. All you have to do is name a beer that they are making for the Dunedin Craft Beer and Food Festival to celebrate the Big Show. It's a tropical, hazy, pale ale. It needs a name. text it through to 3483, you instantly get in the draw for one of these hoodies. We've got a whole heap of them to give away, so get stuck.

15:54Keyzie:Yeah, bloody great stuff, Keezy. Hey, now listen, plenty coming up after 5 o 'clock. I'm off to Aussie in a couple of weeks, and we were planning a big roadie, and it's turned into an absolute debacle.

16:06Mike Minogue:Also, speaking of debacles,

16:07Keyzie:speaking of debacles, we're going to be speaking to Pigeon Tim about Keezy's racing pigeon.

16:13Mike Minogue:It was the final race of the year. Yes, it was. There were eight races it's competed in. It's been absolutely shithouse in seven of them. But I've got a good feeling about this final race, fellas. Right, okay. We might be in the money here.

16:25Keyzie:Yeah, good stuff.

16:28Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

16:34Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're surviving your Tuesday afternoon. You're listening to The Big Show brought to you by Reburger.

16:43Mike Minogue:Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that will change the game.

16:52Keyzie:Yes, indeed. I tell you what, fellas, spring has well and truly sprung, hasn't it? What the hell does that even mean?

16:59Mike Minogue:I don't even know anymore.

17:00Keyzie:Well, classic spring weather at the moment. I got drenched about half an hour ago just going out for a quiet vape, and it just was pissing sheets of rain. Yes, really? Sheets of rain. You know, I'm looking at the temperature gauge at the moment, and it says it's 23 degrees in the studio. Feels like 18 to me. It does. You know what I mean? Yeah.

17:22Mike Minogue:But that's air conditioning. I was in the toilet just before and it said in there that it was 25 degrees but it felt like 9. In the toilet? Are you sure you're in the toilet? Yeah, but I had my pants off. That always chills me out a little bit, you know? Yeah, right. Is there a temperature gauge in the toilet? Yeah, yeah, there is. Have you not seen that? No. You're too busy looking at other people's downstairs, man.

17:43Keyzie:Yeah, that'll be it. You've got to get your eyes up, man. Yeah, that'll be it. Yeah. By the way, tell us how the weather is where you are in New Zealand on 3483. We love a bit of weather, Jack. 100%. It's coming up. Especially if you're in Auckland. Yeah. Because that's all we care about. Yeah, totally. I'm about to embark on a trip very soon, and I've already turned it into a debacle. We'll be talking about that next. In the meantime, here's the cranberries.

18:07Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

18:11Keyzie:News there on the Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 5.13. But right now it's time for a bit of Hoidi J vacation chat.

18:23Mike Minogue:Douche, douche. With Hoidi J. Douche, douche.

18:27Keyzie:Now, fellas, in about a week and a half, just over a week and a half, I'm off to Ozzy for a couple of weeks. God, you're a hard-working son of a bitch, man. You've earned it. Thank you, man.

18:38Mike Minogue:I'm just impressed by your, is it intrepid nature? Yeah, that's right. He's got a curiosity in him, doesn't he? Yeah, I do. You're always a globetrotter.

18:48Keyzie:I've always wanted to see the other side, you know what I mean? I'm a Tasman.

18:52Mike Minogue:And the thing about where you're going in Aussie, it's super different to here.

18:57Keyzie:Yes, so I hear. But that doesn't scare me, Keezy. That doesn't scare me, man. Now listen, but already it's turned into a massive debacle. That said Now what we were planning on doing Right We've got family in Sydney You're going with your missus My wife and my youngest daughter Yeah Oh right So we've got family in Sydney And I've got Three of my daughters Who live in Melbourne So my wife and I Had this great idea How about We do a massive roadie From Sydney All the way down to Melbourne Stops all along the way

19:31Mike Minogue:For like what a week?

19:33Keyzie:Yeah That sounds great Seven or eight days Sort of thing And I went Yeah, that's a great idea. So my wife said to me, so I reckon it's about, I think it's about, excuse me, nine to ten hours from Sydney to Melbourne. And I went, okay. So that was the basic premise of our travel, nine to ten hours, a little bit further than, say, Auckland to Wellington. Yes. So the situation was further complicated by the fact that one of my daughters was starting a new job in Melbourne around that time. And she said, I can only get these days off, Dad. And it was like the 7th and 8th and 9th in order to join us.

20:15Keyzie:And so we went, okay, well, let's meet you somewhere out of Melbourne, not too far so you don't have to travel too far. And we found this great place called Golden Beach. Yeah. Found a nice little Airbnb there. So anyway, the plan is we go from Sydney and we drive to a place It's called Jervis Bay, which is apparently beautiful. A lot of sharks. And it's about a three-hour drive from Sydney to Jervis Bay.

20:41Mike Minogue:Right. And then the next day.

20:42Keyzie:And then the next day we were going to meet our daughter. In Golden Bay. In Golden Beach, it's called. Right, Golden Beach. Which is about three hours out of Melbourne. So my reckoning is, okay, so three hours out of Melbourne, three hours out of – so that would leave us about three hours to travel down to my daughter.

20:58Mike Minogue:Sweet as.

20:59Keyzie:Perfect. So I do a little bit more investigating And I said how far is it from Dervois Bay Dervois Bay to Golden Beach Just out of interest Because I've already booked the place there And it said it's a 9 hour drive Or about 780 kilometres And I was like what the f***

21:20Mike Minogue:Are you waiting for the beep? Yeah don't worry about it

21:23Keyzie:So it was a 9 hour drive And I was like the last thing we want to do Sorry is go, okay, great. We're going to get up really early in the morning and drive nine hours. Get down there. Eventually be exhausted and grumpy. My daughter will be spitting tacks in the back seat there. So then I went, well, that doesn't even make sense. How could it possibly be nine hours if it's only nine hours from bloody Sydney to Melbourne? That's not right.

21:51Mike Minogue:So you double-checked the entire trip?

21:52Keyzie:So I double-checked and went back on the interweb and said, how long is the coastal trip from Sydney to Melbourne, and it said 14 to 15 hours. So my whole premise from the start was fundamentally flawed. So you're just going to can your... Yeah, I said just... I blamed my wife, obviously, because she was the one that gave me that. And I trusted her with that, Mogi.

22:19Mike Minogue:Jase. Yes. You recently purchased a coffee table without checking the dimensions. Yes. You then almost purchased a lamp without checking the dimensions. Yes, I did. You haven't checked the dimensions of Australia before your flight. No. Start checking the dimensions of stuff, please.

22:33Keyzie:Yeah, okay. But, no, what we're going to do is we're extending it by a day and we're going to do a break between Jervis Bay into a place called Eden. Oh, God, not Eden. Oh, really? That's shocking. Is it bad? Yeah, couldn't find a B &B there either, to be honest. Yeah, it's called Eden.

22:50Mike Minogue:Oh, Eden D's? Is it?

22:55Keyzie:Yeah I think it might be Eat a D's

22:58Mike Minogue:No have fun though man Sounds great

23:01Keyzie:Yeah thanks man Here's Pearl Jam

23:04Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show With Jase, Mike and Keezy Tune in Weekdays at 4 On Radio Hauraki

23:10Keyzie:The Blanky's there On the Hauraki Big Show This Tuesday afternoon The time is 5.24 And we're having a bit of Holiday chat at the moment Keezy you're about to go to Japan That's right For a couple of weeks as well I'm going to Australia Planned a big road trip got the fundamentals wrong, i.e. how far it was from Sydney to Melbourne, by about six hours.

23:29Mike Minogue:So you were planning for a nine-hour trip. It's actually 15.

23:31Keyzie:It's actually 15 hours. So that was a debacle. I had to go and cancel various Airbnbs, et cetera, et cetera. Speaking of Airbnbs, because I know you guys are very seasoned travellers. Yeah. And so I'd like to use your experience to help old Hoardy J out. Sure. One of the things I've not, yes.

23:50Mike Minogue:Just before you even start, I'm glad you're asking us stuff because my first piece of advice is it's not called Airbnb. It's called Airbed and Breakfast. Oh, right. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't shorten it. Even if it's not an airbed, it's still called Airbed and Breakfast.

24:04Keyzie:Yeah, that's right. Oh, Airbed and Breakfast. That's right. It's one word, Airbed and Breakfast. And Breakfast, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, my God. Because that's how it started out. Originally, the first thing they did was tents. Right, okay. Just a tent in someone's backyard. That's right. And then they've sort of gone on from there. So it's air bed B &B. No, air bed and breakfast. Oh, air bed and breakfast. So they're all air beds? Yeah. That's right. Oh, okay. Well, as opposed to your solid mattress. That's right. That's right.

24:29Mike Minogue:They would have to be air beds.

24:30Keyzie:Because one of them I sure had a water bed. Oh, yeah? Yeah. Well, they might have expanded a bit, but you don't want to start messing with the name of the company, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, God, I better pass it on to my wife. I don't want to turn up looking like a deer brain. Now, one of the things I've noticed a lot, and it's just baffled me, fellas, There's a lot of places advertising one and a half baths. Yes. Oh, bathrooms. One and a half bathrooms. Well, what the hell is one and a half baths? I mean, you can't have half a bath. No, that got me. That used to get me until I went to Europe.

25:02Mike Minogue:That's right. Oh, right. It's big in Europe. Then you simply must. No, it's not half a bath, Jase. It's half a bathroom. So you have your full-size bathroom. What have you got in there, Keezy? Well, you know, that's a good question, bro. You've got your shower. Yep. Your toilet. Sometimes that's over a bath. Sometimes it's a shub. Have you heard of a shub? No. I'll write that down.

25:20Keyzie:Yeah, write that down. Shub. What, S-H-U-B-B? That's it. Yeah, two Bs. Two Bs. Yeah, good.

25:27Mike Minogue:And so you'll have your shower, your tub there. You'll have a sink and maybe a mirror. Yeah, oftentimes. That's a full bathroom. Handrails or towel rail, I should say. Yeah, extractor fan. And the other room will have half a bath. Sorry? The other room will have half a bath. It's not half a bath, man. If you go around saying that, you're going to look silly. what it is, and it's big in Europe, is the bottom half of a toilet.

25:47Keyzie:Yep.

25:48Mike Minogue:And then they'll just have a shower head over the top of it.

25:51Keyzie:Yeah. Oh, so you can shower while you're doing a steamer. 100%. Right, okay.

25:54Mike Minogue:And they just save space by putting the sort of toilet-shower head hybrid. Wouldn't your toilet paper get wet? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, but over there, of course, they don't use toilet paper. Oh, what do they use? They use the shower head. Oh, okay. What do they call that thing? A bit it. Oh, a bit it. Yeah, that's right. Do they do that in Aussie? Oh, yeah. That's the thing about Aussie. Aussie is like a really close Europe. Okay. Yeah, no good. And in fact, I would even say you don't even need to go to Europe if you've been to Aussie.

26:21Keyzie:No, 100%. So the one and a half bar thing, don't worry about it, it's all good? Yeah. Oh, it's great.

26:27Mike Minogue:It's really good. So the three important things you want to make sure that your accommodation has is an airbed, a shub, and one of them toilets with a shower on the top of it.

26:37Keyzie:Right, okay, yeah. Talk about bloody – Jeez, I should have been speaking to you fellas earlier. Also, is it normal? Because I've noticed, because I've, you know, signed up for these places and made the payment. All of a sudden, the price just goes through the roof. Through the roof, yeah, that's sandy. Is$750 pretty sandy for your cleaning fee? Yeah, absolutely. Oh, it is? Is it that cheap? God, you've got a good one there. Far out. Well, what are you normally paying?

27:06Mike Minogue:Oh, you know, if they're cleaning, you know, the one and a half bath and the shub and that, you're upwards of$1 ,500. Undie. Seriously? Yeah, euro.

27:12Keyzie:Well, I mean, there was one place, there was one place it was like$2.50 a night. Right. And the cleaning fee was like$780. Yes.

27:21Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah. $2.50 a night, that's quite steep, actually. That's where they get you. It should be about$2.30.

27:25Keyzie:Right, okay. And it didn't have half a bath, either. Yeah, they've done you there, man. You've been done. Can I cancel that?

27:32Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

27:38Keyzie:Yes, indeed, Bush there on the Hodaki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 5.38. Now, you'll recall a little while ago, old Keezy bought himself a racing pigeon.

27:49Mike Minogue:Keezy on all wings looking over his beak with me, Keezy. Yeah, that's right, Jase. I gave$400 to a man in Temaru, which I've done before. And boom, a racing pigeon was assigned to me. It's had seven races The eighth was the weekend just gone And up until now it's been pretty shithouse Twice it finished in the 90s Out of 115 birds And then 73rd, 38th 31st, 19th Back to 27th again And look, it's a$400 investment Final race was over the weekend We've got Pigeon Tim on the line Because I don't know what the final result was

28:30Keyzie:Okay? Of the final race?

28:33Mike Minogue:I've got no idea but I am hoping that I have come somewhere and I'm in some sort of money to make this investment at least a little bit worth it.

28:40Keyzie:Yeah, sure.

28:42Mike Minogue:Pigeon Tim joins us now from Timaru. G'day, Tim. How are you going?

28:45Keyzie:Hi, guys.

28:46Mike Minogue:How are you going? Yeah, good. Thanks, mate. I don't complain, Tim. I'm freaking out, man. You'll be celebrating. Really? Oh, you're joking. Tim, lay it on us, mate. How did my bird go?

28:56Keyzie:Oh, I don't know. I can't believe you don't know. You're relevant, guys. You've made it. You've made it. Now, from my understanding...

29:04Mike Minogue:Shut up, Jase. Hang on a sec.

29:06Keyzie:Woo! You're in the money. From my understanding, it's the top 15 birds that sort of pay out. Am I right there, Tim? Absolutely. You're bang on there, guys. Is that 100 big ones coming Keezy's way? Absolutely. 100 bucks! Wow. How about that? Once you split it between all of us, obviously, that'll be 33 each.

29:31Mike Minogue:We'll chat about that next, what we're going to do with this money. Yeah, how good. How money, how good. Tim, it was the final race out of eight. My bird does seem to show a sort of development curve. It was getting better and better. Is there any chance we could do a few more races, man, just to see how good it could get?

29:50Keyzie:Sorry, guys. The season has finished for these birds. Right, okay. It looks like we're going to do a race from the Canterbury Ampe show in November. Right. But, hey, we might be able to get you in on that.

30:01Mike Minogue:Who knows? Will I have to give you more money, Tim? Oh, it's just spooky. Yeah, of course. It is no fool. Yeah, yeah. Welcome to the racing game, guys. Can you tell us, Tim, did any pigeons lose their lives over the course of this series of races?

30:18Keyzie:Oh, hell no. All birds come home. They're all healthy, wealthy and wise. Oh, good. Yeah, nice. And ready for next season. Was there an outstanding pigeon through the series of races there, Tim, that really stood out from the flock. There were a couple of pigeons that stood out, but one in particular, and these were guys from Hunterville, the Hunterville Express. It was their syndicate. It was called Just Got In. These fellas had a great berg. They had three wins in total, and they took out the trophy at the end as well. They came down, they came to Hector Blacks. Wow. Sunday night we had a big night.

30:54Keyzie:Let me tell you what a big night, guys. Yeah, nice, nice. They partied hard.

30:58Mike Minogue:So that's Hector Blacks and Timadu there, which Tim runs and that's where he runs the bird racing out of so that bird every week there's a video goes up and it says Tim reads out who's placed where that stupid bird won it three times and would place and stuff so they've made I don't know like one and a half grand out of that$400 bird like that's awesome no no more like three grand three grand three wins it's a thousand bucks a pop plus all the places it got as well so yeah holy shit meanwhile my bird Keezy on all wings looking over his beak with me Keezy's brought home a hundred bucks you got a 25 % discount

31:29Keyzie:Can I ask if this standout bird here, Tim, has been drug tested? Absolutely. All birds went through a drug test. And yours as well. Maybe in the earlier races that was the issue. Yeah. Not enough drugs. Yeah. Well, too much of the wrong ones.

31:48Mike Minogue:Well, look, Tim, I'm stoked, mate. I've got$100 to play with. We'll discuss what we do with that next, fellas. But, Tim, thank you so much for organising everything, mate, and enjoy that extra$300 that you've taken off me.

31:59Keyzie:Yeah, congratulations, guys. Well done. Really appreciate it. Good on you, mate. Backbone, eh? Yeah, good stuff.

32:06Mike Minogue:Well, look, I mean, it's not nothing. You know what I mean? Well, it's a nice little injection for me. I could throw a little bit of extra money. That's good stuff. No, okay, we've got to discuss this. I'll tell you what, actually,

32:15Keyzie:that's probably a night of Reeburger for me. Yep.

32:18Mike Minogue:We're discussing this, fellas, because, nah, no way.

32:22Keyzie:There's Lincoln Park.

32:23Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. Cheesy on all wings, looking over his beak with me. Cheesy. Yeah, that's the name of my racing pigeon. Hard cut from Linkin Park there. Yeah, man. Into that excellent sting. So we just found out final race of the season that my racing pigeon down in the South Island there finished 11th out of 115 birds. And if you finish in the top 15, you get money. Wow. 11th gets 100 bucks. Now, fellas, you've been giving me a lot of jip about this bird and you refuse to actually... Only because it sucks. Well, yeah, and it did suck.

33:02Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, yeah. I wasn't happy, you know, having put the money in. No. No, I haven't. That's what I want to talk about. At the results. Obviously. You didn't put any money. What a stupid thing to do.

33:13Mike Minogue:You didn't put any money in, man. That's what I'm saying. So now that it's in the money, you guys can't come sniffing around for it because, Mike, you wouldn't buy in either. Yeah, but only because it sucks. Yeah. But now it's good. So I'm keen. Do you want to buy in? Yeah. Okay, well, it's$100. Yeah. Okay, then I'll Do you want the$100? No, I just sort of think that It seems I don't know what the word is, Jase Evil For Keezy to deprive us of the sheer joy That this victory brings Because we've been doing content around this now for weeks Yes And it feels like Well, what do we get out of it?

33:49Keyzie:And it sort of feels like it should be You know,$50 each I always find it really interesting How people react sometimes when the money comes in. Oh, how things change. Don't they? Thank you. Don't they just? Look at how you've changed, Keezy. You've won$100, and I don't even recognise you anymore.

34:08Mike Minogue:What do you mean? It's me, old Keezy.

34:09Keyzie:All I can see is dollar bill signs in your eyeballs.

34:13Mike Minogue:Oh, have I got that?

34:15Keyzie:There's another thing you need to consider, too, as your agent. What? Any earnings you make, I get a 15 % cut off. Yes.

34:21Mike Minogue:Earnings in the realm of media and stuff, and jobs that you get me.

34:25Keyzie:Excuse me. have we been doing media on this? He's got you there, he's done you. So we've been talking about it on the radio show.

34:33Mike Minogue:Well hang on, if that was true then you'd be getting a percentage of my radio contract as well.

34:37Keyzie:Oh and I do.

34:39Mike Minogue:Really?

34:40Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, because whatever you think you're earning add another 50k on there Keezy.

34:45Mike Minogue:Wow, 60k? Okay, well now hang on. You guys didn't buy in. No. Okay, I spent 400 bucks. But again Keezy, only because it sucks. and we were proved right week after week after week after week. So our instincts were completely correct. But what a great way to end it, on a high. Yes. $50 each. That's not how it works. I'm stoked. So are you saying that... I couldn't be happier because I really thought there was no chance that it was going to win anything at all. And yet here we are,$50 each. Stop saying$50 each.

35:14Keyzie:How about this? How about this? I take you all out for a bit of a feed.

35:20Mike Minogue:You take everyone out.

35:21Keyzie:So you take the credit. So we can use my – and I'm sure Mogi would be the same. Yeah, man, absolutely. You'd be happy to use your 50 for us all to go have a feed. Keezy, I'm more than happy to let you share in the winnings, man. Totally. Share in the spoils. Really? Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Totally, man.

35:37Mike Minogue:Okay, thanks, fellas. God, it does feel good to get some cash, doesn't it? Oh, man. For you guys to treat me lunch. Lunch, we're thinking lunch. Oh. Well, no, hang on. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

37:25Keyzie:The name's Burger. Dish, dish, dish. Reburger. Great stuff. Any idea, Mogi, what's on the plate tonight at the Mogi household? No idea whatsoever, mate. I've had a little musselman curry today. Oh, yes, nice. Which was left over from last night. A few potatoes in there. Bit of your favourite tofu there as well, jizz. And scoff that up. That got me through two meals today. So it's good eating. God knows what's going to be waiting for me at home. Yeah, what about you, Keezy? God only knows, Mogi. Hearty beef lasagna still?

38:03Mike Minogue:Well, I'm going to be honest. Last night we were supposed to have a hearty beef lasagna, like leftovers. Right. And we just literally sat down and were just like, I can't eat any more lasagna. Yeah. Because I've just eaten so much lasagna. Because I made a big portion. Yeah, you did. So we ended up getting takeout. How old would you have? No, no, I want to talk about this tomorrow on the show. Okay, okay. This particular takeout. Okay. But tonight we're having, I think, chicken enchiladas or something? Enchilada! That's the one. What are you having, Jase?

38:31Keyzie:I tell you, it was very exciting last night. I cooked my wife some salmon and some duck fat potatoes and a nice green salad. But listen. Have you got a duck? Yeah, I just give it a squeeze into the pan. You have so much duck. Do you just rub a naked duck around the hot pan? I tell you what, man, I have totally nailed the old crispy roast potatoes.

38:52Mike Minogue:Do you remember where Jase had a duck living with him? Yes, I do. And now he's using duck fat? Yeah, it's disgraceful.

38:58Keyzie:But I cooked a salmon, and for the first time, I successfully got a crispy skin on my... Do you not know how to do that yet? Well, you know, last night it was perfection. Tonight we're having my... Duck fat goose. My wife's homemade fried rice, which is pretty good, actually. Oh, no. And chicken skewers with salsa.

39:19Mike Minogue:You know what makes chicken skewers bloody good? A hack?

39:23Keyzie:Duck fat?

Why have I never eaten that? I don't know, man. You've eaten everything else a billion times. I feel like I have, but what's that about? Yeah, I don't know. That sounds really good.

41:16Keyzie:You like that? Maybe a nice green salad on the side.

Yeah, for some reason they really like that one. Yeah. But keep the text coming. I like that one. And we've got a few hoodies to dish out tonight and tomorrow and the next day as well. What about this one? I was thinking about this one, Casey.

45:01Can I do one, man?

45:02Mike Minogue:Yeah, of course, man. Wet dream. Wet dream. Because it's wet like beer, and it's dreamy. It's delicious like beer. What do you think of that, Jase? Wet dream. Because I hate it. What do you think? I think it's bang on. Yeah. I give that name a 6 out of 10. Looking at the text, Virginia 3483. How about this for your beer? What's on the beers with me? Hazy.

45:35Keyzie:Moving on. Shitter.

45:37Mike Minogue:The Big Show Breakfast Special. Is that a shitter? Hey, Evan, are you there? Yeah, mate. That was your one, wasn't it? Yeah, I did wonder how that one was going to go. Which one was it again? Give it to me one more time, Evan. What's on the bears with me? Hazy.

45:56Keyzie:Shit, yeah. Yeah, that's a shocking loss.

45:58Mike Minogue:No, that's a good one, man.

45:59Keyzie:I'm almost tempted to not give him a sweatshirt. No, Evan, you've got yourself a sweatshirt, brother.

46:04Mike Minogue:Come on, Jase, it's pretty cold in Auckland tonight. Yeah, it is, mate. That's true, man, you're right.

46:08Keyzie:Actually, they are bloody nice sweatshirts, mate, so you'll enjoy that. And you're absolutely right, it is cold in Auckland. I'm going to be wearing one of the sweatshirts myself on my walk home because she's a freezing bastard.

46:20Mike Minogue:Actually, Evan, just before we dishear you a sweatshirt, man, what do you do for a crust? I work in financial services, guys. Oh, yeah, how good. Sounds like you're some kind of a rip-off merchant. Are you a loan shark, Evan? Are you a shocking bastard? I'm definitely not that, mate. I'm a man of the people. I feel like I'm fighting something, Evan, I've got to say. All right, Evan, you've got yourself Emerson's hoodie, mate. You hold the line all right? Thanks, guys. Good on you, mate. Yeah, good stuff. Nothing personal against Old Heaven there. It's just, you know, backbone, backbone, hashtag backbone, but, you know, shock and bust.

46:52Mike Minogue:I love that call-up. The name you came up with was shit, and your job sounds shit. I didn't say it sounds shit. I just thought it sounds like he's up to no good. Oh, yeah, definitely. Financial services, you know? What are we doing?

47:04Keyzie:Now, if you just give me 85K, I'll invest it in this for you, and then I'll be off to Bali.

47:11Mike Minogue:All right, just a few more here, fellas. That's why we've got a lot of them. Fellers. They want to call it Fellers. That's from Linz in Tamananoo. Okay, just because a pint of Fellers. G'day, Fellers. What about what's... Is it Fellers or Fellers? Fellers. Why, do you prefer Fellers? All right. Do you enjoy... G'day, guys. Dino here. What about what's in the hazy bottle with me, Beersy? The key thing they're missing there is it's got to mention Keezy. Keezy, yes. Well, no, it doesn't at all. It does. It does. No, it doesn't. What about Big Show Breakfast? The best way to start the day. What? Because we were on breakfast recently.

47:50Who was that? Was that Evan again?

47:56Keyzie:Douche. Douche. Bit ACDC?

47:59Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

48:12Keyzie:Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's your Tuesday show done and dusted. In the podcast outro, otherwise now known as the disclaimer, we chatted. I have no idea. What's the clip, Gizzi?

48:27Mike Minogue:This chat comes out at 7.30 tonight, wherever you get your podcast from, and this particular clip is about the cops. My wife is like, oh. I feel like I would enjoy being a police person. Who said that? My wife. A police person. And then I was like, we were watching Highway Patrol. And then instantly an officer was getting confronted by this person who was very angry and being very offensive and very racist. And I was like, so you'd deal with that? She's like, oh, maybe not that sort of stuff. And I'm like, that's 90 % of the stuff.

48:57Keyzie:Yeah.

48:58Mike Minogue:Yeah, it's just funny chit-chat about my wife there. Yeah. She's funny, eh, guys? Yeah, she is very funny. Good of a character.

49:04Keyzie:I actually think she'd be a good cop.

49:06Mike Minogue:And I'd be a bad cop? Yes. No, like as a good cop. I'd be a good police officer if I was a...

49:12Keyzie:I don't know. No, I think you'd be hiding in the bushes and...

49:16Mike Minogue:And do what? As part of a sting operation?

49:18Keyzie:I'll cover you. You go in and I'll cover you. Doosh, doosh, doosh, doosh. Oh, my hamstring again. This is about any shit. Nogi, your plans for the night, please. Well, walking home, man. Yeah, same. That's number one, but it's good because I get to crack my 10 ,000 steps. You get addicted to the steps, don't you? You do. You do a bit. Yeah, which is good. It's better than being addicted to other stuff, which I also am. Just for your information there. Same. And I'm feeling a bit under the weather, and it occurs to me that I haven't been sick all year, which is unlike me. I normally get the flu a few times and a whole bunch of other things.

49:52My nasals thingies. Yeah, they pack in. Been good as gold this year, so I'm hoping surely, surely, we're nearly in October, surely the flu season is finishing up now. Surely.

50:03Mike Minogue:Maybe you just need a bloody good sleep. Yeah, well, I wouldn't mind that. I wouldn't mind that. What can you do about that? circadian rhythm stuff. Maybe. We'll chat about it tomorrow.

50:12Keyzie:Why don't you go over and give him a bit of a rub down before he goes to sleep? That's true. Why don't you?

50:16Mike Minogue:That's a good question.

50:17Keyzie:Why don't you give me a rub down?

50:18Mike Minogue:How does that mean? Like a massage? Yes. Like a massage. Exactly a massage. Drive to Moggy's house, give him a massage. Yes. And then he can nod off. We could just zoom it. Did you say nod off? We could just do a zoom to start. Cool. You going to ask me what I'm doing? What are you doing, Kees? Eating enchiladas? Yeah, yeah. Give me Moggy a massage. And then shrubbing down mogey. Yeah, good. And then eating an enchilada. Yeah, nice. If you know what I mean. Totally, totally. What are you doing, Jase? Yeah, that's a good question, actually. No, it's not. No, wait. No, it's not.

50:50Keyzie:Wait. All right, just check out the podcast. Check out the Instagram. We'll be back tomorrow. Until then, goodbye. Bye.
