In short
The Hauraki Big Show discusses Waitangi Day-themed Kiwi music (“Thursday Throbber”), city living and noise, a prank/sick-call about Pugs skipping studio for Laneway Festival, audience Reburger voucher giveaways, TV reviews, ADHD screening banter, hosting “guest towel” rituals, and personal health/GP results.
Guests
No external guests appear. Hosts are Jason Hoyte (“Jase”), Mike Minogue (“Mike”), and Keezy (also called “Keezy/Mogey” in places). “Pugs” is a missing co-host who calls in from bed.
Key claims
- Hoity Janus (Parker) says his first night in a new city apartment had a “gentle hum” but included teenage noise and a street fight around 1am.
- Pugs claims he’s sick/fatigued but the crew accuses him of being at Laneway.
- ADHD screening is treated as non-diagnostic; Jase’s “machine” output suggests adult ADHD traits, while others claim negative results.
- Reburger voucher winners are selected via phone “quiz” questions.
Notable examples
- TV: Agatha Christie “Seven Dials” gets low buzzies; “Three Identical Strangers” gets four.
- Hosting: guest towels/flannels laid out; electrolytes placed on a pillow.
- Health: cholesterol and kidney concerns lead to more tests and a prostate exam with a chaperone.

0:09Keyzie:Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show. With Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh, g'day you mad bastards. Great to have your company on this glorious Thursday afternoon, the 5th of February 2026. And you, my friends, as always, listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburger.
0:29Mike Minogue:Serving good times and good food. Dine in or take away re-burger today. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum.
0:35Keyzie:And holy smoke, speaking of yum, yum, yum, yum, yum. I walked into the office today, Keezy. Oh, yeah? And there was old Moogie reclining on the couch as he did. He always takes up the whole couch. Do you notice that?
0:47Mike Minogue:Yeah, he does.
0:48Keyzie:Looking just absolutely sensational in his new garb. Loving the top, the sort of denim shirt there, the slacks. Are they chino? Was it a chino-type arrangement? What are you running there, Moogie? Yeah, g'day, you mad dog. I'm pretty grouse, thanks very much. Oh, good, good. You sick son of a bee. You sick son of a bee, yeah. Hey, yeah, they're chinos. Oh, yeah, nice. I think they're a chino. I am running a denim shirt. I've got some new loafers as well. They're sneakers. It's where I add a little bit of style. They're Pumas, Keezy. Wow. But I'm in my 50th year. It's time for me to stop walking around the joint wearing rags.
1:22Do you know what I mean? Yes, I do. And that's essentially what I've been doing for the last 10 to 15 years. So I'll be joining you fellas wearing shirts a little bit more often. Great stuff, mate. Old shirt-wearing mogy, they'll be calling me before I know it.
1:34Keyzie:Well, you look sensational, mate. Good look. And speaking of sensational, how are you going, Kesey?
1:42Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah, really great. Really great. Tell you what, hanging out for the weekend. Three days.
1:46Keyzie:I was going to say, I thought, it looks like you started your weekend last night, but...
1:50Mike Minogue:To be honest, Jase, 100%, I look terrible today. I look terrible, all right?
1:54Keyzie:You don't look terrible at all. No, I do. I look terrible. We just look massively hungover.
1:58Mike Minogue:I'm not hungover. I only had two beers last night. Really? You don't look hungover at all, by the way. At home. Ah. Yeah, I was online with my mates. Because you're running some stubble today, you see. I am running stubble, yeah. And that always makes me a little bit curious if Keezy's been on the hammer. Yes. No, no, no. Just stubble, just stubble. But I look terrible, Jase, you're right.
2:15Keyzie:You look bloody fantastic, Keezy. I won't have a word said against you, mate. Thanks, Jase. You look good, man. Thanks, man. What kind of shirt is that? Is that a big city folks' shirt, is it? I don't know, man. It's just one I pulled out of the bucket that's sitting at the end of my bed.
2:29Mike Minogue:Do you have a shirt bucket?
2:30Keyzie:No, well, we do at the moment. Why do you have a shirt bucket? No, it's just because we're unpacking shit all over the place. And it's like, oh, God, that'll do. But yes. Good stuff. I'm a bit tired, actually, fellas. We'll get into that. Yeah, we will. We will.
2:46Mike Minogue:All right. Hey, what's coming up on the show, man?
2:51What's happening on the big show with old Mogi? Well, it's Thursday, but we'll be doing the Thursday throbber because tomorrow is Waitangi Day, Waitangi Weekend we're heading into. Today's theme is New Zealand. Just be not anxious. Oh, te aroa. So that's the theme of the songs. They've got to be Kiwi songs or some kind of loose relationship hitherto. Also, old Pugsan, he's caught in sick. You might have seen on socials that he asked us if he could go along to the Laneway Festival that's happening today. We said no, and yet he is not here.
3:24Keyzie:Oh, what a coincidence. And next up, we're talking to Hoity Janus. Hoity Jizbot. Parker, if you will. About his first night in his new apartment, which is bloody exciting, Jase. You've moved in. Old pig in the city. You've had your first night. Going to find out how it all went. That's right. Good on you, mate.
3:42Mike Minogue:Also, don't forget, keep an ear out for this. Yum. If you're here at Call 0800 Hauraki, you can get yourself a$50 Reburger voucher.
3:49Keyzie:Not now, obviously. Not right now. I mean, later on in the show. In the meantime, here's cake.
3:54Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
4:00Keyzie:REM there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon. Does it feel like a Friday to you, fellas? Yes, it does. I wonder why. I wonder why. Yes, so last night, my first night in the city, sleeping in my new apartment there. First and foremost, can I say how pleasant it was to walk home? Yes. About a 10-minute, 12-minute walk.
4:23Mike Minogue:Sweet. Because you walk home too, Mogey, right? I do. It is great, eh? An evening walk.
4:27Keyzie:A little evening stroll, yeah. Yeah, it was really pleasant. I really enjoyed it. And what made me think about, actually, it would be great if we went a bit green on the show and we all walked home to work. That's a good idea. Walked to work and walked home again, you know what I mean? You and I do it, Mogey. If you could do it, Keezy, it would be, as a team, contributing to the environment, man. But that would mean I'd have to stay at your house. No, you could just walk in. You just mean starting your day a little bit earlier. Yeah, you just have to come in a bit earlier than us and maybe leave, you know, take a bit longer to get home.
4:55We'll get the green tick. It's the first radio show to get the green tick. Thank you. Jeez.
4:59Keyzie:Anyway, listen, I'm loving it. I'm loving our new place. You know, 26 years in the same place. It's exciting to be right in the middle of town. And what I've noticed when you sit there on my little lounge suite, just listening, there's just a gentle hum to the city. Suddenly broken by the odd siren or scream. Yes. But there's something very sort of comforting about that hum. Went to bed. The first thing we discovered, first of all, the most massive curtains I've ever seen in my life in our bedroom. It's like being in a king's sort of canopy. You know what I mean? Massive curtains. It's like, God, this place is huge.
5:35Keyzie:Can I ask you, are they blackout curtains? Yes, they're blackout. Great. She's black. You can't have a light bedroom, man. No, she was dark as. Massive windows. First thing we discovered, my daughter is sleeping closer to where we are now. Shit, she's noisy.
5:50Mike Minogue:So like through one wall? Yeah.
5:52Keyzie:Yeah, one wall.
5:54Mike Minogue:And then it's her bedroom and you've noticed how noisy she is. Yeah, massively.
5:57Keyzie:Because she used to sleep a little way. Because my wife and I were like, now listen, it's going to be louder in town. We know that. And we were like, oh, gee, man, oh, gee. We didn't realise it was going to be coming from within. You know what I mean? It's like, oh, hang about. And I was texting her in the night going, you know, I can hear you quite clearly, eh, through the walls. And she said, what do you want me to do about it? I was like, good one.
6:21Mike Minogue:I love teenagers.
6:22Keyzie:And she... What are you... And there's a little sort of loose floorboard just out by our front door, by our bedroom door, that she walks past and it's like... And she's in and out of her room all night. And it's like, oh, good one, Hoyt. But anyway, true to form and as anticipated, hurr of a fight about one o 'clock in the morning. Outside on the street. Outside on the street. How good. And it was a hurr of a fight. Like, full noise, full volume, full action. And my wife and I were like, initially, what do we do? What do we do? You know what I mean? And then it's like, well, you don't do anything.
7:01That'll be the position you put in. Do I go out there and get involved? Do I separate it? No. It's like, the thing about it is you've got to imagine, Jase, that it's like, it's sort of like a deer, a young deer or a springbok, a baby springbok, being devoured by, you know, three or four lions. Yes. And you're the cameraman. And your job is simply to observe. Observe and document.
7:25Keyzie:Film it is what Bogie's saying.
7:27Mike Minogue:Film it so he can watch it.
7:28Keyzie:I don't know if you guys know this about me, but in my day I was a bit of a peacemaker. Oh, yeah. You were a vicious little bastard. I was. That was in my early, early days. And I was like, do I go out there and go, fellas, fellas. It was actually a fella and a woman, actually, to be fair. But there were other fellas holding people back and all that sort of stuff. And in the end I just screamed out the window, will you shut it? Yes. What did they say? they just ignored me and gave me a bit of an evil stare. So that was quite good. And then, so I was wide awake at about one o 'clock. Then my daughter was still up.
8:01Keyzie:Goes back to her room after flushing the toilet, which is not far away from me, talking on her phone. Again, you know I can hear you, right? Not my problem. You moved us here. Fair enough. Well, it's going to be interesting for you, Horty-J, because that was only a Wednesday night. Yes. The real fights, the real excitement is going to be happening on your Fridays and your Saturdays. So my wife and I are now having a discussion, air plugs or no air plugs? You'll be getting the air plugs, but also you need to get some pretty good quality recording devices because it would be good if you came in and played those arguments.
8:38Oh, my goodness.

8:38Keyzie:Oh, man, it's great content. I tell you what, it's all on during the day as well. It's good stuff.
8:43Mike Minogue:I suppose the thing is, right, like you've been living out west for 20-something years. Yeah. Now you're in the city. These fights are going to be happening all the time. They were happening while you were out west. Now that you're in the city, I mean, you're not going to stop them.
8:55Keyzie:Nah, man. I mean, they're far more hardcore out west. Let me just say that. Not the fight. City folks are soft. It's Jet.
9:04Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Red Heart.
9:14Keyzie:Chilly Peppers there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show. This Thursday afternoon, the time is 26 minutes past four o 'clock. Fellas, I don't know if you've noticed this, but Pugs isn't in Studio B and I'm fuming.
9:25Mike Minogue:I'm fuming too. In fact, I'm going to be honest, it's bugging me a little bit. It's been bugging me.
9:33Keyzie:I got in, my headphones weren't in the studio, the prep notes weren't in the studio, nothing in the studio and no Pugs.
9:43Mike Minogue:What are we going to do? He hasn't organised anyone to cover. No. There's no one in Studio B. We are sailing blind right now.
9:49Keyzie:Finally, what it proves, though, is that, you know, do we need him? I think this is one of the best shows we've done. We've only done one break. Well, exactly, and it was so good.
9:59Mike Minogue:How would you feel about ringing him up? I think we should ring him up. I think we should call him and just figure, because he's called in sick as his official, you know. Are you serious? Apparently. I mean, it's pretty obvious what he's done here. There is a concert on currently in Auckland, Laneways. He tried to lay the groundwork yesterday, didn't work, and now he's not here. It's a classic. Just give him a ring on air there.
10:28Mike Minogue:Hello?
10:31Keyzie:Hello? Hello? Is this Pugs, is it? Oh, is this a fella? Are you watching porn, Pugs? No, no. I was going to actually give you guys a call. I'm not feeling so.
10:47Mike Minogue:You remember that tickle in my throat that I mentioned yesterday? I don't remember a pickle in your throat, man. What the hell are you talking about? Have you been getting pickles rammed down your throat? I remember you licking a massive pickle yesterday.
10:55Keyzie:I don't remember any tickle in your throat, pugs. Yeah, so the pickle in my throat's giving me a tickle in my throat.
11:02Mike Minogue:Right. How are you, fellas? How's the show? Are you guys all good? Well, the show's awesome, to be honest. It's one of the best shows we've ever done. Hands down. But that's besides the point. We're ringing to check. Are you actually sick? What's wrong? Oh, look. The fellas are just in bed. It's been a tough night. It's turned into some sort of fatigue and various sorts of, you know. Boy, Park, do you want a cigarette? Is that your missus? What's that? I'm just not feeling too great, fellas. I think I might have to make some podcasts in the morning or stuff, you know. Have you taken a dodgy ecky?
11:41Keyzie:What? What's an ecky? Have you taken a brown tab?
11:46Mike Minogue:I don't know what any of that stuff is. Those mushy's gone off. The only tabs I've had is a responsible dosage of alcohol for my illness. All right, look, fellas.
11:56Keyzie:Look, I've got to be honest with you, Pugs. The show's running bloody smooth as. It was a relief to walk into work today and not have to worry about what mood you're in.
12:06Mike Minogue:Well, look, Jason, I feel good for you, man, but my mood's not great because I'm producing the big show, you know. I'm here in bed. It's visible. I'm around in my place. Yeah. All right, Pugs, Pugs. All right, fellas, let's be honest. We all know what Pugs is doing. Pugs, just here's the deal. Admit that you're at laneway right now with Dilly. Just admit that you're there, and we'll just let this one go, and we'll see you on Monday, all right? What's laneway, Chief? God damn it, Pugs. Just admit it. Okay, that's it, man. Just admit it.
12:39Keyzie:It's over, Pugs. You're done.
12:41Mike Minogue:Yeah, you're done. Hold the line, by the way. We'll flick you out a$50 Reburger voucher. Thanks for calling. The Hodaaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaaki.
12:52Keyzie:Nirvana there on the Radio Hodaaki Big Show this Thursday afternoon. The time is 4.38, fellas.
12:59Mike Minogue:Who wants Reburger? The Reburger sting. It went off, fellas. Yum. Yum. That one right there. The phone lines are lighting up. Pugs is not here to answer the phones.
13:11Keyzie:No. What's your vibe here, fellas? Between one and six, where are we going? Where are we headed? First in, first served, I reckon. Or maybe one of the ones that have never called before. How about that? Yeah, let's go four. Yeah. G'day, caller. Who are we speaking to? This is Boris from Wellington. Boris, you mad dog. Boris, you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah, not too bad, fellas. Good on you, mate. What are your big plans for the long weekend, have you?
13:38Mike Minogue:Oh, not too much. Get out on the motorbike, I reckon. Oh, Boris. What kind of bike you got, brother? Oh, G6R 1000.
13:47Keyzie:Oh, yeah, the old GXR 1000. Old Brum Brum Boris, they call him. I used to have a GST 1800.
14:01Mike Minogue:Right. Bit of a big dog back in the day, eh? Yeah, it was a big dog, all right, mate. Brum Brum. What was it called again? A GST 1800. Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's an X in there somewhere. Hey, Boris, I'm keen to send you out a$50 re-burger voucher, man. I'll just ask you a few questions first, all right? Yep. Beautiful. What do you do for a crust, man? On my sheet metal fabricator. Oh, bad one. You're a bad one.
14:26Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got all your fingers still? Yeah, luckily. Yeah, good stuff, mate. A couple of burns on them, though.
14:33Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah.
14:35Keyzie:I've got a couple of burns on my hands, too, actually, when I used to do a bit of sheet metal. Bloody dangerous. Wasn't that from the darts? Oh, yeah.
14:42Mike Minogue:Hey, what's for dinner, Boris? Good question, but I would say probably Rebeg. Yeah, Rebeg. Yeah, it's a backbone. I feel like we need to change that question because people are going to keep saying. Yeah, they keep saying that. Maybe if you say that, then you get disqualified. Maybe, that's the thing. Next question, how often do you floss, Boris? Or, to be honest on that, maybe once a fortnight. Oh, that's probably better than most people, to be honest. Do you actually own dental floss, Boris? Yeah, the missus sorts that sort of stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She gives it. She gives it. Your backbone.
15:15Mike Minogue:Dental floss, Boris. Hey, what colour are your undies, Boris? I think black with a red band today. Hot. Hot. Hot. Real hot. Hot. And what's your deepest fear, Boris?
15:33Probably go out without Reeburger tonight. If you didn't have that as an answer.
15:42Alright, good question Thanks man Do you like heights? Alright Do you like getting smacked over? Not particularly There you go Oh there you go Getting smacked over You hate that Yeah
15:54Keyzie:I would have gone sharks
15:56Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah Oh yeah That's a good point Jase Alright Boris, thank you very much mate You've got that$50 Reburger voucher You hold the line We'll grab your details alright Awesome, cheers
16:06Keyzie:Get on you Boris Get on you mate What was that motorbike? GSRX 1800
16:11Mike Minogue:The letters change every single time you say that What? A bit of Jane's addiction The song is a banger Is it? Turn it up, Keezy, man I can't Turn up to 11 It only goes to 10 The Hauraki Big Show Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki
16:33Keyzie:Foo Fighters air on the Radio Hauraki Big Show This Thursday afternoon and the time is 10 minutes to 5 o 'clock. Let's talk TV. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue?
16:48Keyzie:Yes. Do you mind, man? Come on, Keezy. Jeez. Fellas, last night I watched Agatha Christie's Seven Dials.
16:58Mike Minogue:Ah, London. Agatha. Seven Dials is a place in London. It is a place in London. You're right. I've been there. That's right. Have you really, Keezy? I didn't see you on this. What, on the movie? Yeah. Nah. It must have been a different time. Must have just missed me. Yeah. The overview is that in 1925, a country house party prank turns deadly. Yes. Lady Eileen Bundle-Brent investigates the chilling murder plot. Lady Carter-Ham and Superintendent Battle assist in solving the country house mystery that changes Bundle's life. Is it in a country house? Well, this is where the murder's set, but there's seven dials as reference throughout.
17:39That's part of the mystery, Kesey. It's three episodes, apparently. We got most of the way through two. Grandma Sue was falling asleep on the couch. Yes. And I have to admit to being a little bit distracted myself. It's got a good cast in it. Were you lovemaking or something? No, no, I was just sort of staring at the wall on that. We've got the kitten as well. Oh, yeah, cool. Yeah, yeah, so it's fine with her.
17:58Mike Minogue:So you were watching an Agatha Christie show and watching a cat. And watching a cat. The cat's more entertaining than this show, in all fairness. I give the cat five buzzies out of a possible five. I give the show probably two. What's happened to you, Moe?
18:10Keyzie:You've got a kitten. You're watching Agatha Christie. I love it. Do you not love Agatha Christie? I love a mystery. I've seen it. It's really good. It's very simple stuff in Agatha Christie. You know what you're getting. Yes, exactly. It makes you feel like you're a genius when you solve it, all that sort of stuff. But a very good cast.
18:24Mike Minogue:That's the Orient Express? Is that her? Yeah, that's in Agatha Christie. That's right. Like something, Murder on the Nile or Steff on the Nile? Yeah, that's right. Yeah, which wasn't as good. That had your Gal Gadot. But the old stuff, the old versions where it had the old great British actors in it, you know, Hercule Poirot, all those sorts of things as well. Good stuff. Helena Bonham Carter and Martin Freeman are your headline cast. Pretty good. To be honest, I think we should probably start it again because I wasn't paying much attention at all. Yeah. So for that reason, I give it zero buzzies out of a possible five.
18:58And I'll get back to you about whether that gets better having focused on it a little more.
19:02Keyzie:I am quite a big fan of Helene Bonham Carter. I think she's awesome. Then you should learn her name. It's Helena. Oh, Helena Bonham Carter.
19:11Mike Minogue:It's Helena Bottom Carter.
19:13Keyzie:She played Prince Margaret. No, it's Helena Bottom Farta.
19:16Mike Minogue:Oh, is it? It's Helena Bottom Farta.
19:18Keyzie:But she's very good. She's always been kind of out there, but she's a very good actor man, I think. Very good. One of my favourite roles was Fight Club for her. Yes. Very, very good.
19:27Mike Minogue:Oh, she's Bellatrix in the Harry Potter series. Bellatrix Lestrange. Oh, okay. I've not seen those. No, I... You guys are so cool because you don't watch Harry Potter. I'm not saying it's cool. I've just never heard of Harry Potter. I'm an adult.
19:40Keyzie:I leave that for the kiddies.
19:48Keyzie:Fellas, I've got to be honest with you. I don't have much to offer. I couldn't get the TV working in the new apartment. Right. Everything else is sorted. You'll be glad to know, but it's like... And then I was tooting around with it and going, why isn't it even switching on? This is crazy. Did that for about 25 minutes and realised there were no batteries in the remote.
20:05Mike Minogue:Oh my God, Jase, you absolute thunderbird. Are you serious? Yeah, I'm serious.
20:12Keyzie:But in my defence, in my defence, there were batteries in the remote that afternoon. Right. But when I got home, oh no. You need to get yourself a butler. I do.
20:24Mike Minogue:But he is a butler. But Parker can't have another Parker. and it's just confusing for my lady. How many buzzies out of five do you give the remote thing?
20:36Keyzie:Negative five buzzies. Right, okay. There's a bit of effing and jeffing.
20:39Mike Minogue:Last night I watched the second half of Three Identical Strangers, which is a documentary that came out in 2018 about a bloke in the 80s who went to college. Everyone there was like, oh, my God, g'day, good to see you, Eddie. And he's like, my name's not Eddie, it's Bobby. And then it turns out he had a twin brother, identical, and then it turns out, because they were in the paper, there's a third one. It's a very, very interesting story The twists and turns and stuff And it are extremely interesting The fact that it actually happened And I won't spoil it But I will say that Because they were triplets And they were separated At birth They were like In the cot and stuff They used to like Fall over a lot And they used to Hit their heads on the wall And do all these weird things When they were little kids Because of that separation anxiety Right So it goes to show Even spending a few months together In a crib Had like Long lasting adverse effects To their mental health And I don't think it's spoilery alert.
21:29I think you can probably say, but they were deliberately separated at birth so that the authorities could perform an experiment on them, which was nature versus nurture and what is going to have the most adverse or positive effects on an upbringing. Yes. And the results of that are probably what's the most interesting part about it. But it just goes to show, jeez, there's some scumbags around that would do that to three kids. I reckon, man.
21:51Mike Minogue:I give it probably four buzzies out of five. It was good, wasn't it? Yeah. Yeah, pretty damn good there, fearless. Four buzzies.
21:57Keyzie:Yes. How many buzzies do you give four buzzies? Oh, five? Sounds like a great name for a movie. Four buzzies.
22:08Mike Minogue:The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki. It's the Hodaki Big Show. Thursday. Robber.
22:22Keyzie:You're welcome, baby. Doosh. Love it. Oh, I love it.
22:27Mike Minogue:You always forget to do that with us, Chase. You hate the throbber. You hate the throbber. You hate the big show. We get it. You hate Hoda. If you're not going to do that, then you get an asterisk if you want it.
22:35Keyzie:Actually, next week. Well, it's just that I go into, you know, welcome back mode and I, you know, get distracted. Now, the theme, and I'll be buggered if I know why, New Zealand.
22:49Mike Minogue:Well, I suppose because it's Waitangi Day tomorrow, long weekend.
22:52Keyzie:Yeah. So? Celebrating our national day. The birth of our country, et cetera, et cetera.
22:57Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah, okay, no, fair enough. Makes total sense, Jase. Well, seeing as you're so confused, do you want to go first?
23:03Keyzie:Sure, man. Here you go, turn it up. Tune. Ladyhawks. Ladyhawks. Yeah.
23:17Keyzie:You're playing with my delirium. Oh, wow.
23:22Mike Minogue:Yeah. Tune. That's a tune. It is a great tune. Can I just say to everybody out there, if you haven't heard that album, get that album. It's an absolute Kiwi classic. It rules. It does rule, actually. It rules. I'll never forget, I was watching, when that song came out, I was watching Top Gear. This is in like the, because that song was like 2009 or something, maybe? Yeah, yeah. And they used it as a backing track on one of their big things they were doing. And I was like, holy cow, that's from Palmerston North. She's made it, man. She was pretty massive.
23:49Keyzie:She might be mastered it. She might be mastered it. And I read a really amazing article on her a little while back because she went through depression and stuff and she just hated everything that she'd ever created. She was like, it all sucks. It all sucks. It'll be good for, I'd love a bit more Lady Hawk, actually. Yes. She's great. Around Hodaki. Yeah, yeah. If you can sort that out, Kesey. Yeah, I'm sure. Thanks, mate.
24:11Mike Minogue:I'll, I don't know what I'll do. This is the song I chose there, Fellas. Fellas.
24:19Bit of racing for you, Jess. This is where it kicks off.
24:34Another tune. Another tune. That's a good tune. This one here I'd have to say is the greatest song ever produced in New Zealand. I don't want to overstate things. And I think if you don't like it, you're probably racist. Let's see.
24:53Stand up, fellas. No.
24:59Is this just the national anthem? Yeah. Just. Is it just? Why is it six, but it's not? And this great, great nation of ours just the national anthem.
25:06Keyzie:Well, here we go. Now, listen, you decide the winner here in New Zealand. Give us a call right now on 0800 Hauraki, and we'll go from there, shall we? In the meantime, here's David Bowie.
25:16Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday. Thursday. Douche, douche.
25:30Keyzie:I got it, fellas. I remembered. Good work, Jase. There you go. The theme today, New Zealand, of course, being Waitangi Day tomorrow. So we've gone for New Zealand Artists, haven't we, fellas? We have, fellas.
25:43Mike Minogue:Certainly have, Jase. You chose first and you chose Lady Hawks.
25:51Keyzie:Am I the only one who's insane?
25:57Hey, you're playing with my delirium.
26:00Mike Minogue:That is a huge tune. A huge tune. Yeah, man. I chose another huge tune, Racing Run Wild. I run wild. I run wild. I run wild. I run wild. And this next tune, Keezy, you'd have to say, and it'll be the same for both of you guys, when this song gets played, it always turns into the biggest sing-along you've ever been a part of. Yeah. You know, stadiums. True that.
26:42Sing it, Keezy. No.
26:48Well, there you go.
26:49Keyzie:So... If that wins. They're your choices. You decide, New Zealand. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Nicky, you mad bastard. How's life?
26:58Mike Minogue:Yeah, not too bad. Haughty J, yourself?
27:00Keyzie:Yeah, good, thanks, mate. What are you running with there, Nicky? Oh, well, I'm feeling a little bit engorged with the national anthem. Oh, Nicky. Are you kidding me, man? Nicky gets it, man. He's a patriot. He's a patriot. Oh, God. G'day, Andrew, you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah, not too bad, boys. How are you? Yeah, good. Thanks, mate. Good. What are you running with, Andrew? Oh, well, I've got to go for all my meat pattiness. Yeah. Good on you, Andrew. Thank God for that. Appreciate it, mate. G'day, Rick, you mad bastard. How's life? Well, very well. And, mate, can I say please, kia ora, my bucky-ha brethren.
27:43Kia ora, brother. Kia ora. Kia ora.
27:44Mike Minogue:What are you going for there, Rick? We are definitely racing today, brother. Racing, yes. Yeah, nice. Nice. Good on you, Rick. Thank you very much for playing, mate. Oh, thank goodness. That's a robbery, man. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.
27:57Keyzie:Lady Hawk didn't even get a vote for us. No, no, people don't like female singers. Yeah.
28:03Mike Minogue:Hey, look, 3483, please give your opinion on the throbber for today. Yes, please. In the meantime, a win for Old Keezy. It's racing. Old Keezy, man. Run wild. Old Keezy. Do-do-do-sh. The Hauraki Big Show Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki
28:19Keyzie:Racing there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show This Thursday afternoon The time is 19 past 5 And that is your Thursday Throbber Winner Jeez, that was a mouth Thursday Throbber Winner Yes
28:32Mike Minogue:Good work, Jase Very professional of you Look, it's a good day for me I'm finally out in front It's been a while Yeah, man Yeah, for sure I had a real, as you guys keep banging on about A real dry spell there You did, yeah but weeks and weeks and weeks, or months even. 14 weeks. Is that how long it was?
28:48Keyzie:You might want to think about that with the beersies.
28:50Mike Minogue:What do you mean? We'll have a dry spell off the beersies. Take a little break, man. All good, though. No, no, no. Yeah, there's no judgment. But I'm winning at the moment. Oh, yeah, with the throbber. With the throbber, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, definitely. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What do you mean, just with the throbber? No, no, well, you're winning with that. That's all good. That's just a bunch of people talking in the office about the drinking.
29:08Keyzie:No, no, no. Yeah, don't even. What do they know, Keezy? That's how I'd put it to you, man. You do you, man. Yeah, exactly.
29:14Mike Minogue:I'm going to do me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, we're going to have a look at this Throbber scoreboard for 2026. Out in front on two wins, old Keezy. Hey, man. And coming last, tied on one win each, Jase and Mogey. Well, I object to that because Pugs was coming last. Yeah, but Pugs never really gets to come in here. In fact, he's not even here today. He's wagged and gone to laneway. No, that's right. So that's an asterisk.
29:37Keyzie:Asterisk for Pugs. Asterisk. Yeah, he's on zero with an asterisk. Yeah, good. That is a disgrace.
29:44Mike Minogue:Certainly is. Now, yesterday we had some interesting chats, fellas, about whether or not, and we aren't professionals in this area. No, no, no. I want to be quite clear about that. Yeah, 100%. Whether or not certain members of the big show might maybe be ADHD. Yes. Mogi went home last night, did some online tests and things. We're going to run Jace through one quick, and then coming up next, I guess, is the results of that. Yeah, that's right. Well, I mean, I can talk about mine. Why don't I talk about what mine was like, and then, Jase, we can come back with your results. How does that sound?
30:14Yeah, that sounds good to me, man. But I did two yesterday, because we were going through it yesterday, Kesey. I think you were doing the test, or maybe I was self-administering it, but it wasn't looking good. It was, are you losing things, all sorts of questions, and I was like, shit, I'm a slam dunk for this. But I did, when I got home, I did a test, and it was decided by the test that my score, I was completely fine. Okay. And I thought, well, that doesn't sound right. Keezy's not going to buy that. Nah. So then I did another test and that one also completely fine. Right. So apparently I don't have it, which is good, which isn't bad.
30:49Mike Minogue:It's not a bad thing. If you've got it, but it's just good to know if you have got it or not. Yes. But I don't. But coming up next, we'll be getting into old hoity jizzbot and finding out whether he's got it. I should say confirming that he has got it. Not that it's a bad thing. Not that it's a bad thing. No, okay. That's fine by me. Can you remember what we're talking about, man? No. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
31:15Keyzie:Oasis there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon. The time, 5.29. So we've been doing a little bit of an investigation into the potential that a couple of members of the Big Show who have got ADHD, attention deficit disorder. Something disorder. What is it? What's the H for? I don't know. Attention deficit disorder is what it's always commonly been known as. So Keezy started hitting us up with that. You gave us a street diagnosis yesterday where you'd spoken to a friend, run a couple of things past her, and she said that Jase and I both definitely have it. Yeah. A bit of a street diagnosis, happy to go along with it.
31:55Then we did a little bit of investigating over the internet, and after a couple of three questions, it looked like your mate was 100 % correct. I went home and just thought I'd do some more investigating. I ran two tests. Both came back negative for myself. And today, now, we're going to run you through them, man, because I suspect it's the same. So we're just going to do five. These are just five very easy screening questions. They're not diagnostic. I want to be clear about that. We're not doctors, and this is not a diagnosis. Sure. If there's any concerns here, you should go and see a health professional.
32:27Okay, thanks, man.
32:29Mike Minogue:And let's reiterate, a friend of mine said she, who vaguely knows you, said she thought he was probably ADHD and then he did some internet tests. That's right. So, yeah, that's exactly right. This is the most half-assed thing ever. That's right. So, look, the internet may have been wrong. Sure. Here we go. Number one. Now, you can actually use jokes one to five. One being not at all and five being, yeah, a lot. Yes, okay. Do you struggle to stay focused on tasks that aren't interesting, even when they are important? Five. How often have you performed best under pressure or deadlines, but find it hard to get going otherwise?
33:15Five. Do you feel mentally restless or unable to fully switch off, even when sitting still? Five. I mean, no, you go. Five. Sorry. Do you have difficulty organizing, prioritizing, or keeping track of multiple responsibilities? Five. Feel emotionally reactive or frustrated more quickly than you would like? Five.
33:42Mike Minogue:Five, definitely five of that, yeah. Okay, I'm just going to put this into my little machine. Is there anything about...
33:51Mike Minogue:What the hell is that? It's a machine. That was actually the sixth question when I say I'm going to put it into my machine. So that's another five. Based on this question here, the pattern shows strong, consistent traits, consistent with ADHD, especially around attention, restlessness, emotional intensity, and working best under urgency or interest. In short, it's not a chaotic response, Jase? Yes. but a high-functioning, mentally over-revving profile that aligns with adult ADHD traits rather than simple stress alone.
34:27Keyzie:Yes. There you go. I would actually, and I like the phrasing of that, over-revving. Yes. My brain is over-revving. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like, yes. I often feel like, hang on, my brain's just going way too nutso here. I need to chill out a bit.
34:45Mike Minogue:Because quite often it's like we're driving along the motorway and I'm cruising along and I'm doing like 1 ,800 revs. I'm in top gear just chilling and then Hoody J Hoon's past going. Still on first. Still on first. Same destination. Yes. But, yeah, sometimes.
35:02Keyzie:Interesting. Okay, well, there you go.
35:04Mike Minogue:Is there anything in there, Moggy, about losing concentration whenever young women walk past the window?
35:10Keyzie:Easy, man. Come on.
35:12Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
35:17Keyzie:Ozzy Osbourne there on the Radio Hauraki. Big show this Thursday afternoon. Beautiful day it is too in Auckland City. I'm just making an observation. Thank you. I'm not, you know, just banging on about Auckland.
35:29Mike Minogue:3483, how's the weather where you are, New Zealand? Yeah, man. We'll definitely read those texts. I'll get them coming in. Yeah, absolutely. Hey, fellas, we had some guests stay with us over last weekend. They had a six-month-old with them. And I feel like once you hit 30, you sort of, you take pride in your ability to host people. Yes. Yeah. Like certainly for a dinner party or something. So I could come dine with me. Yeah, 100%, right? So dinner party, I took, like last time I had a dinner party at my house, I made a big sangria. You know, we made this delicious thing and I was very concerned that we had the right music on and we had the right food and blah, blah, blah.
36:01Mike Minogue:And I got a lot of satisfaction out of it. Right. I've also figured out that we like hosting people for the weekend, say. Oh, yeah. What the hell does that mean?
36:10Keyzie:Nothing, man. and it just went, oh, yeah.
36:12Mike Minogue:Yeah, but. So, for example, we had this couple staying with us last weekend and in our guest bedroom we have a duvet. It's sort of like a tealy colour. Oh, is that the one you've got the Toy Story characters on the duvet? No, no, no, no, that's on our bed. Oh, right, that's right, yeah. This one's just a plain teal, right, with matching pillows and nice throw cushions as well. and then we've got special guest towels and flannels. Nice. Yeah.
36:44Keyzie:So the bed's all nicely made and there's a towel and a flannel on the end of the bed.
36:48Mike Minogue:Two towels crossed over sitting nicely. Crossed over. Yeah, I need to reiterate, this is 100 % my wife's doing. Do you do the swan thing? No, but we should look into it. We should learn how to do the swan. Because it would be funny, but you'd take it seriously and ruin it. But, yeah, you should. Yeah, so once again, 100 % my wife's doing, but I really feel like we're starting to nail this whole hosting thing. For example, one of our friends who was with us was actually up for a fitness tournament, so we put out some electrolytes for him on the pillow on top of his flannel there. Yeah, right. Do you guys do that sort of thing?
37:20Mike Minogue:Do you have guest towels in there? I like my guests to feel comfortable and not creeped out.
37:26Keyzie:Yeah, and when you first brought this up with us, Keezy, and you said you and your wife are nailing guests, I'm like, well.
37:35Mike Minogue:No, no, no, sorry. Did I say nailing guests? Yes. No, no, no. I meant nailing. That's what you wrote in the chat.
37:40Keyzie:Did I? Keezy and his wife are nailing guests.
37:43Mike Minogue:Did I write that in the chat? No, that hasn't happened for ages. No.
37:46Keyzie:Look, I will admit we don't really have many guests.
37:51Mike Minogue:No. No, I know because you've never invited us over. Five years, by the way.
37:55Keyzie:We'll be talking about that later on, by the way. Yes, but we do do the towel and flannel.
38:02Mike Minogue:Right, okay, the towel and flannel. We do that as well. Right, okay. The towel and the flannel. Because I thought that was just a clever thing that my wife had thought of, and I was like, that's smart. It's like a hotel. Yeah, no, you chuck it on there because oftentimes what you don't want is your guest having to say to you, can I get a towel? Yes. It's like, yeah, you can have that one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's a nice towel, right? You're putting out nice towels.
38:20Keyzie:No, like the last guest we had was my mother-in-law. Right. And my wife put out the towel that she used to put under the thing when she was painting. Yeah. Right, okay. So it had paint on it and stuff. The time before that you said that you put out a beach towel because she's a unit.
38:39Mike Minogue:Is your mother-in-law a unit? Did you say that?
38:42Keyzie:I'll be honest with you, and it may be my ADHD. I don't recall saying that, but I might have.
38:51Mike Minogue:I mean, if you did, though, that's like pretty insensitive is all I'm saying.
38:54Keyzie:What do you mean?
38:55Mike Minogue:We're calling your mother-in-law a unit. Well, it's quite complimentary, isn't it? I don't know. Oh, that's good, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And did they seem to appreciate it, your guests? Yeah, 100%. They loved it. Yeah. Can I ask you what the guests did when they left? Did they strip the bed? They stripped the bed. Yes. They took all the sheets and pillowcases off, put them all into a pile, asked where to put them. I said leave it. Great. And then also they even took the extra blanket that we'd given them, even though it was hot, they'd folded it up, put it back in the cupboard. Yes. Kind of annoying because that's not where it goes, but they were very, very, very good.
39:28Keyzie:I was going to say, do you think that they did that because they thought you were really anal?
39:33Mike Minogue:Anal. Maybe, Jase.
39:38Keyzie:They went, jeez, we better leave this place in good shape or O 'Keezy will just lose his shit.
39:45Mike Minogue:A bit like your mother-in-law's going to when she hears this. Block party? Oh, yeah, why not? The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
39:56Keyzie:A little of mud there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening.
40:00Mike Minogue:Hey, fellas, it is that time of the year again where we need the audience's help to essentially choose our playlist here at Radio Hauraki. If you want to have an opinion on it, text the word MUSIC to 3483. Sign up and join the Hauraki Music Jury. It doesn't take very long at all. You listen to a whole heap of songs. There'll probably be, I don't know, 30 little snippets of songs. You listen to them, you rank how much you like that song, whether or not you're hearing it too often. Yes. If you hate the song, that's fine as well. But do it, and you get yourself in the drawer to win a Yeti cooler, which is worth$350.
40:30Mike Minogue:just for helping us tweak the old playlist.
40:32Keyzie:Mate! That's amazing. How good is that? Yeah, that's so good. A Yeti cooler. Everybody's been asking me where they can get a Yeti cooler, and that's what I've been saying to them. All you have to do is go to the music jury. Yeah.
40:44Mike Minogue:Yeah, 100%. Because I've got the Yeti, the beer coolers. Oh, how good are they? They're really good. They're really good. Because you screw the top off, you put your bottle of beer, or you can, and you seal up the top there, and it stays cold for a long time.
40:55Keyzie:I've got one of those at home. I love it. Well, funnily enough, I've got a Yeti throw cushion.
40:59Mike Minogue:Really? Yeah, yeah. I didn't know they did throw cushions. Yeah, they do, man, yeah. But that was... Have you heard about yetis, man? No, no, I know about yetis. Yeah, well, yes. Actually, did you know? It's got a throw cushion with a yeti on it. It just doesn't make sense that they would make beer coolers and stuff and then make a throw cushion. Oh, I think we're talking about different things now.
41:15Keyzie:Yeah, totally. This is a unique one-off yeti throw cushion.
41:19Mike Minogue:Right, okay. This is a fun fact, though, which you might have known, especially, Jase, you would have been around then. Oh, here we go. Sir Edmund Hillary. Oh, yeah. after he climbed Everest, went on a yeti hunt. That's right, he did. Like a proper one in the Himalayas. Correct. Fully funded. That was funded by the National Geographic. Yeah. That's right. He went over to the US and he met with them and then he went over to, obviously he knew it was a ridiculous and wasteful, absolutely it was, but he got it paid a lot of money and it funded other adventures that he went on. So that was someone else told him to go do that and he agreed to it.
41:56Mike Minogue:It wasn't him saying, He was invited to do it by the National Geographic. There you go.
42:02Keyzie:I watched a little program the other day on the Investigation Channel, or the one with all the - CI. No, the Crime Channel anyway. CI, yes. It's like the Investigation Channel. It's called CI. It's IC, Investigation Channel. This guy was accused of murdering this woman. A Yeti? No, murdering this woman in the bush, and he said she was taken by a Yeti. Yeah. Seriously, that she was taken by a Yeti.
42:26Mike Minogue:She was taken by a yeti in the bush. That was...
42:32Mike Minogue:That was... Oh, that's no good. Do you want to finish it? Oh, look! Don't worry about it. Let's go to this. Yeah, yeah. The Hauraki Beat Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
42:51Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. I hope your Thursday is absolutely going off as we head into the long weekend. You're listening to The Big Show, brought to you by ReeBurger.
43:01Mike Minogue:Beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options. ReeBurger, redefining the norm.
43:09Mike Minogue:Burger. So good. Hey, fellas, you know how we're each given some ReeBurger vouchers? Yes. I haven't used mine yet. I can't wait. I've used mine once. Yeah, yeah, so I've used mine quite a bit. Yeah. Long story short, I'm out of vouchers. Yeah. Yeah. But, hear me out. Driving a Tauranga tonight. Oh, how good. And over the old Bombay Hills there, there's a Reburger. Oh, that's the first place I'm going, yeah. Oh, you going to that one? Yeah, yeah. Can't wait. Hey, Jase, do you reckon you could spot old Keezy a Reburger voucher, man? Sure, man. Really?
43:46Keyzie:Totally. There you go, man.
43:47Mike Minogue:Really?
43:47Keyzie:Absolutely. Oh, thank you. You're welcome.
43:57Mike Minogue:Is that it? Like, it's all good? Totally. Why do I feel really, like, uneasy about all this?
44:04Keyzie:I don't know, man. That's on you. It's your issue, Keezy.
44:11Mike Minogue:Okay, sweet, man. Thank you. No, good. You're welcome. Yeah, thank you.
44:16Keyzie:I hope you enjoy it. Well, of course you will. It's re-boog you.
44:18Mike Minogue:Yeah, cool. Yeah, thanks, man. All right. It is. So good. I'm excited now. Oh. Blink-182. All the small things. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
44:32Keyzie:Lincoln Park there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening. Fellas, I went to the doctor a week or so ago, and it turns out I've got a new GP. A new GP. I didn't know that. Yes. But I went and got some bloods done, and then a couple of days later I got a phone call or a text message to say that the doctor wanted to see me as a result of the blood test, which is never great. Because normally you fly through, but as you get older, they always want to have a yarn to you about something. Cholesterol, usually. So I made an appointment, went along, and of course they didn't have the appointment.
45:08Really? Yeah, they didn't have it. So I made another appointment and went back later on. The woman was shocked that I wasn't angry at all and just said, yeah, sweet, yeah, no worries. I think she was used to being abused. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I didn't care. Anyway, I went back there eventually, and speaking to this lady, she was in the same doctor's sort of room as my previous GP, whom I really liked. He was great. And as we're chatting away there, I said, has my normal GP, has he left? She said, yeah. I've replaced him. I said, okay, good to know. Right. Good to know. Anyway, she said, I just wanted to get you in about your results.
45:46Cholesterol was number one, Jase. She said there's an issue with your cholesterol. Yes. There was something else as well, something about my kidneys that she wasn't happy with. So she worked through what the issues were and what she felt that we should be doing about it. Number one, we'll get you in for more testing. We'll get you to do more bloods. We'll get them to do maybe three months. We'll just come back and have another check-up on that, if that sounds okay. Yeah, it sounds good as gold. I want to check your blood pressure as well, so I'll make sure that that's where it should be. Yep, that was good as gold as well.
46:17Then she checked some of the gals. It felt like she was really leading me down the path. Then she said, oh, and when was the last time that you had your prostate examined? And I said, professionally.
46:36I mean, I've been self-administering that one for years.
46:42I don't know what I'm looking for, you know what I mean?
46:49Look, I'm just trying to lighten the mood a bit because I know this can be stressful for you as a doctor. She said, I appreciate that, Mogi.
46:56Mike Minogue:She called you Mogi? Yeah. Wait, was she a listener? I don't know. And she was the one asking the questions, Kesey. Yeah, right, okay. And she said, you don't mind? I said, I don't mind. I said, it's probably been 12 years since I've had it done, but I've got no issue with having it done because I know how important it is for male health. She said, you beauty. She said, now I just have to tell you, I'm going to need to get somebody to come into the room. Right, okay. We call them a chaperone, just to make sure that somebody is in the room as a witness to make sure that nothing untoward happens.
47:30Are you fine with that? Absolutely, as good as gold. So she showed me in. I had to lie down on the bed. Now you have to lie on your side, and you have to hug your knees up to your chest and face the wall, Kesey. And that gives them great access to your back door there, okay? So I'm doing that. I've got my pants around my angles. I've still got my T-shirt on and my shoes. Feels a bit weird. I was running the jandals and I think. Anyway, she comes back in. She comes around the curtain. She introduces me to the chaperone who's standing outside the curtain there and says, is it okay if we get started?
48:03I said, absolutely, can't wait. Anyway, I've sort of forgotten what an experience it is. Yes. She gets in there, starts digging away, Keezy She starts digging away And it's extremely uncomfortable Anyway, it's sort of a weird feeling in the room You just want to break the silence So I says to the chaperone Hey, you watching this? She's got her finger up my ass This is what you're meant to be stopping, isn't it? Nobody said anything She just took her finger out of my bum there, Kesey.
48:45Anyway, it was all good. All tickety-boo. Got an email from the surgery there, and they've reassigned me to a different doctor.
48:59Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
49:04Keyzie:ACDC there on the radio. Hauraki, big show this Thursday evening. Now, fellas, do you know of anything that's going on in the sort of inner city, sort of Auckland kind of area in the next month? Because my wife and I, you know, we want to get out and about and stuff. Have you heard of any gigs or anything like that going on that old hoity Jay could frequent?
49:24Mike Minogue:You want to frequent it? Yes. Well, I mean, I do know one gig. It's in March, but I don't know if you could frequent it. Oh, okay. March the 21st. Oh, yes. But you can't frequent it. That means go back over and over again, right? And make a habit of going to one place. That's what frequent it means? No, it's just you go once. Yes. Why is it called frequent then? I don't know. It's a weird quirk of the language. Yeah, it is. Right, okay. Well, the Manuka Fuel Symphony Festival is happening at the Auckland Domain. Oh.
49:53Keyzie:Hold on a second. Siri, can you just record Keezy and what he's telling me about this gig? Thanks, mate.
50:02Mike Minogue:G'day, Siri. G'day Siri So yeah Manuka Fields Symphony Festival March 21st at Auckland Domain Yeah Hauraki.co.nz by the way if you want to enter to win a VIB experience that includes thanks to Air New Zealand's grabber seats flights from anywhere in New Zealand you also get a night at Sky City Hotel and VIP tickets to Symphony Festival Cheers

50:42Keyzie:Siri ignore what he's saying to Mogey
50:44Mike Minogue:Okay Mogey Symphony number 7 Huh? Symphony number 7 What's number 7? It's their 7th iteration of it With an all new set list Cool Wow Which is great Faithless Which is a full live band from the UK Great They've got some great tunes They do Peking Duck It's got that Punisher Kelly holiday in it. The Aussie holiday. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right, okay. I've never had real Peking duck before. It's bloody good. Is it?
51:10Keyzie:Yeah, Peking duck in a little pancake is just the bomb.
51:15Mike Minogue:In a pancake?
51:15Keyzie:Yeah, they have a little sort of mini pancake. Like savoury. Yeah, savoury. I've seen a duck that had just eaten some magic mushrooms. Jesus, he was peaking.
51:25Mike Minogue:Shapeshifter? Shapeshifter? That's a yes from me. Yeah. I would be finishing with them. Would you not? Have you seen Symphony, the orchestra? See, like Shapey's rule, obviously. But the orchestra with the music that they play, which is like, you know, classical. Or orchestral versions. No, no, no. Orchestral versions of like drum and bass and electronic music and stuff like classics. That's the best way to end the night. Nice. Hot dub Time Machine from Ozzy. Kaylee Bell's going to be there. Made you look nice and earl to the exponents and the black seats. And there's more to be announced. once again if you want to win that VIB experience head to hodaki.co.nz and you and a mate could be flying here thanks to New Zealand's Grabber Seat and staying at Sky City Hotel and going VIP Man They've done this song before by the way Fatboy Slim Right here right now Symphony yeah
52:13Keyzie:Good tune Yeah Tune It's a good tune man Yeah Did you know I used to be the bass player for the House Martins Jase? Who did? Fatboy Slim Oh How about that? Old Norman Court Makes sense Totally. You get it, man?
52:30Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
52:35Keyzie:Pearl Jam there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday night.
52:40Mike Minogue:Fellas, yesterday I said that we had to pounce on some social media gold. It was a good opportunity to build our audience. I'm talking, of course, about posting photos of Parker from Thunderbirds, who is the – just Google Parker from Thunderbirds, and then suggesting that that is, in fact, Jason Hoyt. Yeah. Now, Jase, you loved this idea, right? You're all for it. Come on, man. How does it genuinely make you feel being compared to Parker from Thunderbird?
53:08Keyzie:Well, as I said before, I see absolutely no resemblance whatsoever. And as I've also said before, I've been compared to a lot of people, and I have to be honest, I'm going, oh, I can see that, I can see that. But Parker, no. Moggy? Well, I think there are some similarities. I would say Mogi is more like Parker to look at. Now that he's said that, I can say that Jase looks exactly like Parker.
53:38Mike Minogue:We'll find a Thunderbird that Mogi resembles at a later date. There will be one. But I basically said, look, we'll chuck a photo up of you in your new apartment. We've used, well, Pugs has managed to make it so it's Parker from Thunderbirds in an apartment. And the caption just says, Jason Hoyt's first night in his new apartment. Yes. I said it was going to get billions of likes. On Facebook, it's got 620 likes.
53:59Keyzie:Right. Is that good? I have no idea. I don't really go on Facebook. No, I'm not on Facebook.
54:05Mike Minogue:Like it's decent. And like once upon a time, Facebook's algorithm, like you could get thousands and thousands and thousands of likes on a simple thing like that. It's harder to do so. And so I think getting 620 likes at this current stage is, you know, it's pretty good. Yeah. But it's not good enough, I think. It wasn't as high as I was expecting. No. If I look at the Hodaki Big Show's Instagram page, the photo of Hoity J as Parker in his new apartment, 750-odd likes.
54:33Keyzie:People are with me on this. They don't see the comparison at all. I think the problem there as well, can you read out the caption that's with that one on Instagram there, Keezy? Because I think that's where we've let ourselves down because when we announced it on air that 2 ,000 likes would mean that Jase was forever going to be known as Parker or there'd be a lot more Parker content, then it was clear. But when people went, I felt, to the Instagram, that part of the equation was not relayed to them. It was not clear. That's right.
54:59Mike Minogue:Yeah. Can you read that out, what we've got there? It just says, Jason Hoyt's first night in his new apartment. Exactly. So that's Pugs not concentrating on his job, thinking about the fact that he's going to call in sick today and go to laneways. Yes, and as a result of that, that's cost us precious, precious numbers on that post. Right, so what you're saying is it's void because we didn't execute it properly. Well, I think it is what it is now. I think Pugson's job is void. Well, obviously that is. I'd agree with that. But now that you've put an idea in my head here, maybe we just do one more post next week, Hoity J doing something as Parker, and we put, if this post gets more than 2 ,000 likes, Hoity J is known as Parker.
55:41Yeah. Maybe Hoity J has given a speech at Waitangi.
55:47Mike Minogue:As Parker the Thunderbird. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
56:01Keyzie:Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's the big show done and dusted for the week. The podcast.
56:07Mike Minogue:There's no podcast outro clip because Pugs isn't here. Of course. That's another nail in his coffin.
56:14Keyzie:I reckon a black mark against him. He's really let the team down today.
56:19Mike Minogue:Well hang on, if you've just joined us, Pugs isn't here because he's cold and sick aka gone to the Laneway Festival Yes, yes
56:25Keyzie:Mogi, what's up this weekend? What's up? I'm going to be going for a walk to find a waterfall Nice Now, I said to my wife, I says to her, I says You know what, we should go for a walk You know I don't walk I said we should go for a walk this weekend Try and go somewhere nice, go for a walk, find some waterfalls A woman I work with, she went to some waterfalls recently and they look amazing And she goes, I was just talking to Grandma Sue about this. I said, there's no way I'm going to get Mike over the line for this. I said, well, here you are. It's me bringing it up. I showed her the waterfalls.
56:56I had photos of the waterfalls. Loved the waterfalls. Then I Googled where it was, and I read a review. The very first review said, absolutely beautiful waterfalls and only 30 metres from the car park.
57:09Mike Minogue:Oh, my God. That is such a letdown. What a huge win for old Mogi.
57:13Keyzie:Yeah, totally.
57:14Mike Minogue:Totally a win. So that's what I'll be doing on one of the days, and I think we're going to a water park, and yeah. Good times, mate. A bit of work as well, man. A bit of work as well. A little bit of work. A little bit of work there. What about you, Keezy? What are you doing, Keezy, man? What are you up to, man? You must be going down the line, are you, man? Going down the line there, fellas, man. How do you go down the line a lot? Me and my wife going down to visit my family in Tauranga, Mon and Don. Yeah, that's lovely. Stay with them for the weekend, go out for dinner. Yeah, a few little bits and pieces.
57:39Mike Minogue:I'm looking forward to it. This and that. Yeah, what about you? Bit of a gel, eh?
57:41Keyzie:Well, just on there, if you're going to be doing that, can I stay in your guest bedroom? What, in my house? Yes. And will your wife leave me out a towel and a flannel?
57:49Mike Minogue:Yeah, sure. I've got the perfect flannel for you, man. Awesome. I know the exact flannel to give you, man. Great stuff, mate.
57:57Keyzie:Great stuff. All right, then. Well, anyone can ask me what...
