In short

The Hauraki Big Show’s Friday episode mixes radio banter, listener shout-outs, music “Friday Throbber” voting, TV/film and sport talk, plus segments on “Blood Moon” (lunar eclipse), a cat peeing on a bed, and upcoming live events (Wild Food Festival).

Guests/backgrounds

No named external guests. Hosts are Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue, and Keyzie (Keezy/Mogi). “Pugsarn/PugSong” appears as a studio contributor (likely a recurring personality), plus callers (e.g., Dan, Ben, Luke, Jory, Mark Taplin, Gareth, Kane, Josh in the UK, Sean from Taupo).

Key claims

“Blood moon” is framed as a superstition/mass hysteria; the hosts joke about a “testicles-off” village myth. They debate Slipknot vs Future Islands vs The Donners in the Throbber. Cat issue: blocking access to the litter tray is suggested as the cause; solutions proposed include leaving doors open or adding cat flaps/cat nappies.

Notable examples

Prayer interaction with a stranger; Dan’s voucher “AI test”; ramen bar trivia quiz for a Gorillaz vinyl giveaway; NZ vs England T20 World Cup and multiple rugby fixtures; Wild Foods Festival live show in Christchurch and train trip.

0:00Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Thanks to crave-worthy street food. Freshly made with Reburger.

0:09Keyzie:Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show. With Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh, g'day you mad boss. It's great to have your company on this glorious Friday afternoon. It is the 27th of February, 2026. And you, my friends, as always, are listening to The Big Show, brought to you by ReBurger.

0:32Mike Minogue:Beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options. ReBurger are redefining the norm.

0:40Yes, indeed. G'day, Moogie, you stallion. How's life? Going pretty grousy, you mad dog, you sick son of a bee. I'm feeling great. Beautiful day. It's Friday. We've got the throbber coming up, but I feel bad feeling so good when I know that Keezy's so unhappy.

0:54Keyzie:Are you unhappy, Keezy? Talk us through it, man.

0:55Mike Minogue:Well, it's first I've heard. I can be if you want. No, I don't want you to be. I want you to be happy as Larry. No, it's too late. Now I'm pissed off. I'm sulking now. I'm volneys. You're volneys. I haven't been volneys in ages. It's been a long time, actually, Keezy. You're letting the team down. Because you're meant to be the one that gets on the hammer, but you don't. Well, I haven't been lately, but I will be this weekend. Right, okay. Big weekend ahead, eh, Keezy? I'll do it for you fellas. Yes. I'll take one for the team. Great. Yeah, good on you, mate.

1:22Keyzie:I'm fine, by the way. How are you, Jason? Yeah, good, thank you.

1:24Mike Minogue:You gave me a chance, man. Yeah.

1:27Keyzie:I'm very, very well. I've had a great day. It's beautiful out there. I've been wandering around, filling my boots with all the sights and sounds of the CBD.

1:39Mike Minogue:You don't wear boots. You wear sketches. That's true. Slip on ones. He's got you there. Have you had any run-ins, man? I'm a little bit worried that you haven't got these weird interactions happening multiple times a day. That says to me that you're not leaving the house.

1:52Keyzie:Look, I'll be honest with you, without sounding like a dick, I get recognised a lot on the streets. People shout out various things to me. Hey, dicky! Yeah, stuff like that. Hey, come demand some air! I had one last Friday where a guy came up to me and said, Oh, you were in that Westside show, eh? And I went, No, I wasn't. And he went, Oh, no, no, no, it wasn't Westside. It was, um...

2:14Mike Minogue:And you wouldn't help him out?

2:15Keyzie:And I said, You mean, I'm trying to remember the name. Outrageous Fortune. And he went, Yeah, Outrageous Fortune! And then, then, fellas, he put his hand on my cheek and he said to me, can I do a prayer for you and your family? And I went, okay. So he did. He did a little prayer for my family and for me and then I'm in there and walked off. So that was a nice little interaction. Why did it take, why did I have to coerce this out of you? Why wasn't this leading every show we've done for the last week? Right, well, you know, because they do kind of happen quite a lot to me. Hey, but Mogi, what's coming up on the show, mate?

2:55What's happening on The Big Show with old Mogi? As mentioned, absolute monster. We've got a throbber today, fellas, and the theme is whatever you like. Good jokes. It's whatever you like. Also, we've got some breaking news around a massive weather event that's coming up this weekend, massive weather event, and also some other weather event. This one is about a blood moon. Oh, yeah. We've got to begin some Blood Moon chat, fellas. It's a huge show today.

3:22Keyzie:Beautiful. In the meantime, here's Velvet Revolver. Oh, have you got any shout-outs? 3483, let us know.

3:28Mike Minogue:That's a shout-out, by the way. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

3:34Keyzie:Oasis there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time is 13 minutes past four o 'clock.

3:40Mike Minogue:Hey, fellas, pretty exciting stuff. Early next week, New Zealand's only total lunar eclipse will be happening, and apparently it's going to be a blood moon. A blood moon.

3:55Mike Minogue:I don't even know what a blood moon is. Do you guys know what a blood moon is? It's a superstition. It doesn't even exist. It's like eclipses. No, eclipses work. No. They're a thing. Have you ever seen one? Yes. No. It's like a leap year. It's just something that people talk about and it doesn't happen.

4:13Keyzie:What it is, and it's quite an interesting phenomenon. Do you know what it is? It's a mass hysteria. Yes.

4:19Mike Minogue:So you guys actually know what a blood moon is? Yes. Can we do this segment then? Hey, Dad. Yes, son. How does that work?

4:33Mike Minogue:Remember this segment? You guys used to explain how stuff worked. Feels like it's been a while. Yeah, it's been a while for sure. It's probably been like three years. Yeah, a long, long time, Keezy. So what is a blood moon then? Because it just sounds crazy. Blood moon. Yeah, well, it makes it seem like the moon is bleeding. Really? Yeah, doesn't it? Because of the blood moon. Yeah, it sounds like it's bleeding. But that's not what it is, Jase.

5:00Keyzie:No. Back in the day, of course, when it supposedly occurred back in the day, all the villagers around the place would cut the testicles off their goats. Yes. Because it was sort of seen as a bad sign. Like an omen. An omen of some description. And so they would detesticalise all of the, not just goats, actually, all of the animals. Every single animal.

5:27Mike Minogue:Yes, lost its testicles. Yes. They'd just castrate all their animals. Yes. Because that's crazy. You'd do it as an offering to the gods. Absolutely. And it worked. Every animal. Well, yeah, as long as that was a trick, though, you had to do every animal. Yes. And, of course, if you didn't do it, then, you know, the moon just changes back to normal anyway. But because they denackered all of these animals and then the moon changed, they thought it was because they'd done the denackering. But all they had to do was just wait a couple of hours or whatever, and it changes. Yeah, right. So you're telling me at some point the blood moon happened and then someone was like, quick, chop all the nuts off every animal.

6:07Mike Minogue:Right. It started off small, though, because it was just a small village. It wasn't like a big city or anything. So it was like one or two people.

6:13Keyzie:Yeah, it was just a couple of people living out there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and a goat. But also, they would cut the testicles off the animals and then have an orgy with the testicles. What, in front of the animals? In amongst the testicles. Yeah. Like, villagers would come all over with sacks full of testes. Fertility. Fertility. They'd dump them all in a big pit and then have an orgy.

6:38Mike Minogue:Far out. That's crazy. Because I thought, I don't know where I got this from, but I thought a blood moon was just when the earth was like right in between the sun and the moon and then the sort of shadow made it look sort of orangey. Right. That's what I thought it was. I didn't realise it was like a whole cut the testes off of everything situation. Where'd you get that, man? Was that bloody chat GBT or something? Yeah, was that AI or something? No, just in the Herald article I was reading. Oh, the Herald. The Herald. Okay. Oh, that's good to know, fellas. Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah. Well, you can tell your family all about it, your wife.

7:16Keyzie:You can share that around. Yeah. Get the facts out there, Keezy.

7:20Mike Minogue:Start sharpening my knife, get ready for, I believe it's Tuesday night, fellas.

7:23Keyzie:How good. Yeah, sound good.

7:27Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

7:33Keyzie:The killer's there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time is 4.25. I believe we have a few frown out shy days.

7:42Mike Minogue:Heaps of frown out shy days. If you don't know what those are, it's where you text in on 3483 and we give you a shout out. But one time, ages ago, Jase accidentally said frown out shy day rather than shout out Friday. Yeah. And it's stuck. It's still here, man. It's great. All right, fellas, where to begin? Where to begin? G'day, fellas. Frown out to Mark Taplin for his sweet paisley shirt. Taps. And that's from Gareth.

8:07Keyzie:Gareth. Do you think Gareth's taking the piss there?

8:09Mike Minogue:Maybe. Did he call it Sweet? Yeah, Sweet Paisley Shirt. Sweet Paisley Shirt. He spelled Sweet wrong, though. S-W-E-A-T. W-E-S-W-E-T. Sweat. His Sweat Paisley Shirt. Yeah, Sweat Paisley Shirt. What's his name? Gareth. Gareth. You don't hear that all the time, do you? Gareth. No. Hey, Gareth. Well, no, because my name's not Gareth, so I wouldn't hear it. Hey, Gareth. G'day, Gar. This is from Kane. Frat out to the lads at Acrylic Bathroom Repairs for saving our ass this week. Legend.

8:40Keyzie:Saving that ass. Yeah, good. I hope you bought them a few cold beers. Yeah. A frat out on The Big Show is good, but not as good as a few beers. It's good on your frat. Frat out, motherfucker. That nearly gave me a heart attack, Ben. Pugs. Keezy, can I do a quick frat out, man? Yeah, man. Just to all the hardworking nurses out there, Jason and I just want to say huge frown out. You're doing great work out there. Keezy didn't want to be a part of this.

9:07Mike Minogue:Frown out. To be fair, I didn't know that was happening. Jason and I had a meeting about it earlier in the week. We just thought, God, man, we've got to get some frown outs going to these nurses. They need to get a bit of pep in this.

9:19Keyzie:Can I just on that front, by the way, do a bit of a big show frown out as well for all the teachers out there back hard at work, you know what I mean? Mogi and I were talking about it and how much we appreciate it. They get a bit of jip sometimes, the old teachers. Well, I remember you, Keezy, off air saying, you know, teachers have so many holidays. It's just ridiculous. But to all the teachers, frown out from the big show.

9:42Mike Minogue:Frown out. Okay, well, I guess in that case, I'd like to give a big frown out to all those sort of frontline workers, you know, your paramedics and, you know, the people on the beat there and the people putting out fires and they're firing. Anyone driving a car with sirens on it, basically. Big frown out. That's just from me.

10:03Keyzie:Yeah, you're on your own there, Keezy. Bit vague, bit vague. Yeah, it was a bit just sort of generalised.

Read the full transcript

10:08Mike Minogue:Nobody feels special about that sort of thing. You've got to be a bit more specific. Oh, right, okay. Well, anyway, frown out. Frown out, motherfucker. I mean, next time you have a meeting about giving nurses a frown out, do you reckon you can keep me in the loop on that? Because I wouldn't mind being a part of it.

10:20Keyzie:Well, it wasn't. I mean, it turned out to be about nurses. We have a frown out meeting. Do you? And then we decide who we want to do a frown out to.

10:27Mike Minogue:Yeah. Why do we never do frown outs then? This is like the first time we're ages. People have got to earn it. The last person on our list I've got here, Jace, was you and I just want to do a frown out to all the backbones out there. Well, it's literally. Yeah, totally. That's literally everyone. Can I read a couple more? Yeah. Okay.

10:47Keyzie:Yeah, I suppose so.

10:49Mike Minogue:3483. Frown out to my brother Josh living in the UK. I've just spent four grand on flights to go see him this summer. Hoody Jizz, you simply must go to Europe Huge frat out to them Frat out And a giant frat out to Herbie, Callum, Brad and the lads At Herbie Hind Landscaping Sorry, what? Herbie Hind Landscaping Big frat out to them The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki Who wants free, Biggie?

11:30Keyzie:Yes, indeed. All you need to do is listen to your radio, and when you hear this in the middle of a song, give us a call. Dan did that. G'day, Dan, you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah, pretty good, fellas. Good stuff. How are you doing? Yeah, good thanks, mate. Good, good. Good, man. Tell me, Dan, what's the plan for the weekend for Big Dan? Ha ha. Big Dan's going into work tomorrow. Oh, right. What a backbone. That's a stirrup, brother. Maybe a bit of golf on Sunday with a planer's part. That's a one. Yeah, nice, mate. Bit of time for old D.

12:03Mike Minogue:Big D. What's your nickname, Dan?

12:09Mike Minogue:Don't know, mate. Dan the Man. Dan the Man's a goodie. Yeah, makes sense. Yeah, it's a clever one. All right, I'm just going to run you through the AI test, mate. Just need to double-check your not AI before we send this voucher out to you.

12:21Keyzie:Okay.

12:22Mike Minogue:What do you do for a crust, man? Altrition. Oh!

12:26Keyzie:You can come around to my house and fix my lights, could you? The guy that I hit this week, he's cancelled twice. Jump in line, mate. Yeah. There you go, man. Get in line, Jase. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, I wouldn't talk to you like you're a scumbag, so I'm feeling good about this. That's good.

12:41Mike Minogue:Hey, Dan, what is your fish and chips order? Oh, it's going to be a fish burger and maybe a spring roll or a couple of those. Yeah, I like a spring roll myself.

12:53Keyzie:People know their orders, man.

12:54Mike Minogue:Yeah, they do. They do. How often do you floss, Dan? Oh, I've got to be honest here, mate. Not too often. Okay, I want to put never. I want to put never down. What colour are your undies, Dan? Rocking a dark blue today, mate. Dark blue. Nice, nice. And final question here, Dan. What is your deepest fear? Oh.

13:16Keyzie:Oh, probably something happening to one of my kids. Yeah.

13:22Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah. That's good. That's good. All right, mate. Let me just chuck it into the systems. Make sure it's not AI. Yep. You're clean, mate. That voucher's coming to you. Awesome, guys. Thanks for that.

13:34Keyzie:No worries, man. You have a great weekend, Dan. I tell you what, fellas. Not many fellas wear white undies, do they? I've got some on at the moment. Have you? Yeah, I do. Can I see them? Sure. Oh, yeah, here we go. Oh, yeah. Oh, now you're talking. Yeah, pull them up more. Pull them up. Yeah, pull them right up there. Pull them up.

13:55Mike Minogue:Jase.

13:56Keyzie:Oh, sorry, man. Can you simmer down, bro? But you know what I mean? Do you have many white undies, Keezy? No. I'm wearing my white ones because I'm out of the other ones, really. Right, okay. I'd only normally wear my white ones on a special occasion, like if I'm only going out for something for a few hours. Yeah. I wouldn't wear them all day. It's too risky, Keezy. You know what it's like.

14:13Mike Minogue:Would you ever wear your white ones for a whole day then take them off and put them back on to go to the gym? No. The next morning? No, no, no. No, that'd be crook. Yeah. I would put them on backwards. Oh, yeah? Yeah. Isn't it interesting? Because they're white, you see everything, but it's almost like a bus seat? Yes. How bus seats are made out of that fabric where you can't tell if it's dirty or not? That's right.

14:34Keyzie:Yeah, yeah. I've got a few pairs of white undies.

14:37Mike Minogue:Really?

14:38Keyzie:Yeah. But, you know, being two-stroke, I've got to be careful on the old bog there. Just two strokes. No, we get it. Two wipes.

14:46Mike Minogue:No, we get it.

14:47Keyzie:You know what I'm saying, Keezy? We get it. It can be messy.

14:49Mike Minogue:I know exactly what you're saying.

14:50Keyzie:Well, the problem is I don't get it. It's just floating around in there.

14:54Mike Minogue:Arctic monkeys?

14:55Keyzie:Thus, I don't wear white undies very often because, well, obviously, I mean.

15:00Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

15:04Keyzie:The exponents there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time is 4.49. Let's talk TV. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue?

15:19Yeah, man. Watching stuff. How good. Hey, fellas, I watched the latest Mission Impossible movie, the last in the series, Mission Impossible, The Final Reckoning. It's got Tom Cruise in it. You're joking. Yeah, okay. How old's he now? Must be about 80. 60-odd.

15:36Mike Minogue:Is he? Yeah. Are you sure he's not lying about his age? I'll ask him. Fellas, look, he's just trying to work out, he's trying to save the world in this one, just to mix it up a little bit. Is it the seventh one, did you say? Yeah, I don't know. Because that's seven impossible missions. I know. Crazy. But not bad, because he's been doing it for about 30 years, so once every few years, he's got to do an impossible mission. Yeah. And look, the stunts are incredible, all that sort of carry on, and there's some good set pieces in this one, but it's just not, it hasn't got the sense of humour. I love these films, generally, because I'm a big Tom Cruise fan.

16:09and he does ridiculous things. There's always some stunts. On this one, he's on an old biplane, like a World War I sort of red baron biplane sort of plane, and he's sort of climbing all out of it and all over the wings and all that sort of palaver. So risking his life, man, just to make a pretty average movie. But it probably made a billion dollars. I think it's on Netflix at the moment. It's just come out. If it's not on there, it's on Neon. It was fine It's about three hours or ten years long I can't remember which one Oh god But all the other ones were fun And this one's got a really full on plot That you can't be bothered following And nobody's having a laugh And the action is fine But it's not as good as the other ones Three buzies, worth a watch But the other ones I've really enjoyed So it was a bit of a let down being the last one in the series So three buzies out of five Three out of five buzies I don't know why

17:04Keyzie:I've just never been interested in those movies Yeah. I've never watched one of them. You don't like movies, though, do you? No, not generally. Not. I'm still carrying on with The Last of Us Season 2, fellas. Yeah. And I am enjoying it. It's a little bit overly sentimental at times, which is getting a bit inside my goat. But generally speaking, there's some great performances as per usual. It's pretty stock standard. I'll give my final review at the end of the season, right?

17:31Mike Minogue:It's The Last of Us on Neon. Neon, yes. Yeah, yeah. My wife and I are still watching Celebrity Amazing Race Australia, which is her favourite reality show, so I'm watching with her as well. And once again, do you remember when I said they say that it's a pre-planned, like no one's being eliminated this episode? Yeah. Another one happened, and you guys were like, it's definitely not, like they definitely, depending on who's about to go home, will maybe save them and say, hey, no eliminations this round at the last minute. Right. Another one happened where one of the couples, actually two of the teams, for whatever reason, had to stop being part of the Amazing Race, which sucked.

18:09Mike Minogue:And then the last team was coming in and they were stressing out and blah, blah, blah, blah. And I was like, there's no way they're going to eliminate that team because they already lost two teams in the same episode. My wife was like, yeah, totally. And then it's just like, hey, fortunately for you, it's a pre-planned non-elimination. I'm just like, no, it isn't. You're lying. You're lying. I assume. Yes. But it's a great show. If you want to watch people do fun games all around the world, they went to Sri Lanka, which I loved going to Sri Lanka. I'll give it three and a half buzzies. That's pretty good.

18:37Mike Minogue:TVXZ, man. Yeah.

18:38Keyzie:Okay. Yeah, good stuff. Good stuff.

18:42Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

18:50Keyzie:It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday throbber. Douche, douche. Oh, I nearly forgot it again then. I was just about to start talking, but it just slipped in in the nick of time, fellas. Doosh, doosh. Hey, the Friday throbber, each of the fellas here in the studio, pick a tune to sort of get your Friday started. Then you give us a call on 0800 Hauraki and decide which throbber you want to play in first of two wins.

19:15Mike Minogue:Yeah, that's right, fellas. Who wants to go first today? I'll go first, man. What's your song, Moggy? Duality, Slipdown. I'll push my fingers into my heart

19:28Keyzie:It's the only thing that slowly starts to end Yeah! Woo! Made of all the things I have to take That song throbs. It's quite loud.

19:43Mike Minogue:Rock and roll. Jase, you should work on a rock station, man. Yeah.

19:47Keyzie:Quite noisy.

19:49Mike Minogue:What did you go with, Jase? What did you go with, then, Jase?

19:51Keyzie:This is a band who I think, look at Pudsey's pulling a disgusted face. This is a shocker. Yeah, it's a good summer band.

20:03Keyzie:Do you know what I'm saying,

20:08Pates?

20:13Yeah,

20:16Mike Minogue:it's like a lullaby song.

20:18Keyzie:Do you want to say the name of the band and the song? Future Island Seasons.

20:25Mike Minogue:Great song, by the way. I went for a band. I can't remember if we played them on Hodaki or not, but we should. The Donners. Come on, just keep it up.

20:34Keyzie:Come on and take it off.

20:35Mike Minogue:Take it off.

20:37Keyzie:You gotta shake it off, baby, for me. Come on and break me off. Break me off. Cause I get what I want and I love what I see. Australian band? Are they Aussie, aren't they? Yeah, I think so. About 20-odd years ago, aren't they? They're sort of like the jet for chicks. Great stuff, fellas.

20:56Mike Minogue:No, you can't say Jet for Chips. They're like a female version of Jet. That's not a criticism. That's a good term. Or is Jet a male version of the Donners? Jet was out first. Jet first.

21:07Keyzie:Hey. Hey. You decide, New Zealand. Give us a call right now on 0800 Hauraki. In the meantime, here's the Food Fighters.

21:14Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

21:22Keyzie:It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday Throbber. Yes, indeed. Douche, douche, douche. No. You missed it. Oh, no.

21:33Mike Minogue:Asterisk.

21:37Jeez, man. Jeez.

21:40Keyzie:Hey, Moby, what did you go for?

21:42Mike Minogue:Hang on, it's Friday Throbber. It's Friday Throbber, man. We each choose a song, and you, the listener out there, you give us a call. First one to two wins it. But sometimes we have a theme, sometimes we don't. This week we don't. I've gone with Slipknot Duelity. I push my fingers into my eyes. It's the only thing that slowly stops the air.

22:08Keyzie:He must have to take a lot of lozenges afterwards. That was originally what they were going to call the band. Lozenges? Yeah. That'd be a good name for a band. I went for a good summer vibe. The seasons change And I'm trying hard just to soften

22:30Mike Minogue:The Future Islands there. Yeah, man. I did a deep dive into Future Islands.

22:35Keyzie:Yeah.

22:35Mike Minogue:They've got about four really good songs. Yes. And then it falls away. It does fall away a little bit.

22:40Keyzie:I'd agree with that, Casey. I was gutted, actually. They've got a very charismatic lead singer, and the rest of the band are all kind of geeks.

22:50Mike Minogue:Yeah, which is great.

22:51Keyzie:Yes.

22:52Mike Minogue:I went for the Donners, who, by the way, formed in early 19... I think it was 1993 in California. Wow, there you go. So I wonder why we thought they were Aussies. I thought they were. There you go. I was quite simply, I was wrong. Yeah.

23:16Mike Minogue:Tune, Jase. Can you concentrate on what's happening in here, mate?

23:19Keyzie:Well, I'm just watching the bloody Hits guy steal our beers. That's Clint from ZM.

23:23Mike Minogue:He's just brought us chips. Oh, sorry. And he's stolen 80 cans of beer.

23:27Keyzie:He's got eight cans of beer under his arms there. I said, that's my bad.

23:31Mike Minogue:And he's given us chips in exchange, Jase. Chips that you've already stolen from them several times. Yeah, that's true.

23:37Keyzie:Well, you decide, New Zealand. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Ben, you mad bastard. How's life?

23:43Mike Minogue:Oh, it's going pretty good, mate. How about you?

23:45Keyzie:Yeah, good, thanks, mate. Who are you going for there, Ben?

23:48Mike Minogue:I've got to go for Mogey because this one throbs the hardest. Bro, I've got to say, Ben, as soon as I heard that backbone voice of yours, I knew which way you were going.

23:56Keyzie:I knew exactly where you were going to. All right, Luke, you're mad bastard. How's Welly today?

24:02Mike Minogue:Oh, it's bloody beautiful fellas.

24:04Keyzie:Yeah, good stuff, mate. What are you going with, Luke?

24:07Mike Minogue:Oh, it's shit.

24:08Keyzie:Oh.

24:10Mike Minogue:Who are you voting for there, Luke? Hoody Jizz, of course. Yeah, good on you, mate. Sounds strange, bro. Thanks, Luke. Jory, how you going, mate? Not too bad, mate. How about yourself? Yeah, good. Thanks, Jory. Who are you voting for there, Jory? 100 % no-dy. Good on you, mate. Good on you, Jory. You're a backbone, Jory. You always have been, man.

24:31Keyzie:I'm a heartist. Yeah, good stuff, mate. Thank you. Good on you, Jory. So a bit of slipknot it is, fellas.

24:38Mike Minogue:Bit of slipknot there. Get it in here. Let me just tee that sucker up. You fellas ready for this? Yeah, man. You ready to throb? Yes. Push my fingers into mine. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

24:55Keyzie:Slipknot there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. Fifteen minutes past five o 'clock, fellas.

25:02Mike Minogue:How do you feel about that song, Jase?

25:04Keyzie:It's not my cup of tea. No. But it's not up to me to decide who wins the thrubber. It's true, mate. I can't see you wandering around the CBDB with a bit of Slipknot. No. And your Skullcandies. No, no, it kind of offended my earbuds. Yeah. Yeah. It was just a bit rough. It was a bit much for you, wasn't it? It's a bit much, Mogi. It was a bit much for me. It's a bit sort of too...

25:28Mike Minogue:A bit intense. Yeah, a little bit intense, Gizzy. The dude's got a voice on him, though. The dude has got a voice on him. He has a voice on him, yes. He has got a voice on him. Yeah, yeah. But when he just sings a normal, what you would regard as, you know, just sort of a little bit more normal there, he's got a bloody good voice on him. Yeah, I bet.

25:42Keyzie:He settles it down a bit, you know? Yeah, yeah, when he's not getting out of control there. Yeah. Because I feel like he's got some anger management issues. Oh, yeah, he may well. You know what I mean? He may well. And actually, when you think about it, it's probably good therapy getting it out like that. Yes. You know what I mean? I do. Just belt it out. Yes.

25:58Mike Minogue:Yeah, I didn't like it. No, that's all right, guys. I got very into metal for a while there, and I stopped just short of Slipknot. Yeah. I kind of left the metal phase just before entering the Slipknot sort of area of music. It's the first time I've listened to Slipknot in maybe 15 years. Yeah, I mean, I'll be honest with you, I don't like them. If I can't be bothered with any of that screaming, carry on. I don't mind that one because it's got a little bit more singy-singy in it. But I know that it's hugely popular amongst the backbones out there, and that's why I'm here, you know. Yeah, sure, man, sure.

26:29Mike Minogue:Well, 3483, opinion on Slipknot. Yeah. Yes or no, let us know. And Seasons. Is that a rock song or is that sort of like a little ditty? Seasons change. Oh, Pugsun was absolutely, he was hating it.

26:41Keyzie:I've long since given up on Pugsun. I mean, he bags everything I choose. That's true. So, you know, I mean, it's water off at Ducks back at this stage.

26:52Mike Minogue:You and Ducks, eh? You love Ducks. I love Ducks. Just looking at the throbber scoreboard here in last place. No, sorry, in first place now, Mogi on three wins. Last place, Jase and Kesey on two. Yeah. Hikes his moles behind, though, isn't he? Yeah. He's on zero.

27:07Keyzie:And he has the audacity to diss my tunes.

27:10Mike Minogue:Do you like the hives? Yeah, I do. Don't mind them. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

27:20Keyzie:Pearl Jam there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time is 24 minutes past five o 'clock. Now, fellas, it's been such a majestic day as we come to the end of summer. I was thinking to myself, it just seems such a way sometimes to be stuck in the studio. You remember back at school, I used to have a particular teacher called Mr Jackson. and if it was a really nice day, he'd go, fellas team, we'll go outside today. It's too good a day to be cooped up inside. And we loved it. Cooped up. Yeah, we loved it. I mean, he kind of did lessons, but we all just sort of lazed around and did nothing really and just sat in the sun.

27:56Keyzie:And I was thinking, how good for the big show to be able to go outside in a day like this and broadcast. And with that in mind, we've brought in Pugsarn because I'm curious about the logistics of that Pugsarn for you. Ooh, it's PugSong

28:12Mike Minogue:G'day fellas, thanks for having me Happy Friday

28:16Keyzie:Looks like you're having a really happy Friday in Studio B there with all the beersies

28:20Mike Minogue:He's been sinking piss, but that's besides the point

28:22Keyzie:Yeah, that's true

28:22Mike Minogue:How hard is it to set up an outside broadcast Because we've got a little outdoor area Hairier? Hairier We've got a little outdoor area Hairier And how hard would it be to take some of the equipment out?

28:36Keyzie:Hairiola Can you focus, please, Pugs? This is serious business. He's pissed. He's Steve. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

28:42Mike Minogue:No, sorry, I'm pissed, yeah.

28:44Keyzie:Is that difficult to do that? It's not.

28:47Mike Minogue:As you said, you messaged this morning and you had the idea, and I said we could do it. That meant that we could have done it today if you wanted to.

28:54Keyzie:Yeah, but we're also going to have a barbecue. Deck chairs, bearsies. Right. I'm thinking like a platter or something too, fellas. Maybe some bowls of chips, some dips. Slip and slide. Some slip and slide. Just your standy sort of obese house.

29:07Mike Minogue:Slip and slide would be cool. Yeah, it would be really cool. Did you get on that? What's that? Slip and slide. Me? Sure. Because if we're going to do a show from outside, there has to be something in it for the listeners, so it would have to look really cool. So you would need some umbrellas and stuff.

29:23Keyzie:Yeah, I think some umbrellas. Cocktails.

29:25Mike Minogue:Cocktails would be a nice touch, Jase. Yeah, yeah. Lots of chips.

29:30Keyzie:Cold meats, olives, cheeses.

29:32Mike Minogue:Cold meats, warm beers.

29:34Keyzie:Crackers.

29:34Mike Minogue:You're just saying stuff at me. Yeah, that's right. I feel like you wouldn't be coming up with all these ideas if I'd have said, oh, look, it would take me a while to get the tech stuff running, fellas. So I'll be stuck doing that. Well, that's why we've brought you in, to see for the future, maybe next week, would it be possible to, you were saying, yeah, maybe Monday, we'll check the weather.

29:52Keyzie:Yeah, actually, Monday would be, it suits me. Does that work for you, fellas? 100%. Should we bring our partners as well? Well, why don't we, I was thinking, because the audience is going to want to be a part of this, I think you're right, Kesey. So why don't we sell tickets? Good idea. 80 bucks. If you could have a chat to, say, Ticketmaster, Pugsun, just get that sorted out. We could sell like 1 ,000 tickets. 80 bucks each. Well, if we're going to do that.

30:15Mike Minogue:It's like$800 ,000, Mogi.

30:17Keyzie:If we're going to do that, Pugs, we'll need security.

30:20Mike Minogue:Well, I did that security shift one time, Jase, so I could probably just handle that.

30:24Keyzie:Yeah, well, no, we need someone a bit more meaty and sort of booty and a bit tougher looking, not sort of.

30:30Mike Minogue:Why don't you do it? Yeah, well, I probably could.

30:32Keyzie:I mean, I could probably do it. But yeah, do you reckon you could do that by Monday? Maybe just chuck it on the Insta now in terms of the tickets. 80 bucks a head.

30:43Mike Minogue:And so what are the people watching? Are they watching us? No, it's a live show. It's a live show. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And like you and me, we'll throw Jase down the slip and slide and at the end there will jump. Where will it go? Onto the road.

30:57Keyzie:I actually, true story on the old slip and slide, hurt my anus on one.

31:03Mike Minogue:How did that happen?

31:05Keyzie:Because it was over grass, obviously Yes And there was a little lump that they'd just gone over Right And I was hooning down it, you know, like a dog wiping its butt on the sort of ground And it just directly hit my anus, this bump, and I hit it at full capacity

31:21Mike Minogue:Far out Man Didn't you go down it like 50 more times after that?

31:25Keyzie:Yeah, it felt good

31:26Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki

31:31Keyzie:Yes, indeed, Radiohead there on the radio. Hodaki, big show this Friday evening. A beautiful evening it is. To the time is 5.39.

31:41Mike Minogue:Hey, fellas, the Gorillaz have got a brand new album out right now on vinyl. It's called The Mountain. And if you would like to win this, perhaps you've got a vinyl collection or you're a fan of the Gorillaz, then give us a call now on 0800-HODAKY. Great. Yeah, nice. You guys big fans of the Gorillaz? I wouldn't say I'm the hugest fan in the world, Kesey, but I am a fan. Right, yeah, yeah. I am a fan. I would say I'm a tepid fan. Right, okay. Tepid. I still remember the first time I heard the Gorillaz. I was flying on a flight, a Qantas flight, I believe it was, in the late 90s, and I heard the, you got the cool, got the cool shoes, huh?

32:17Mike Minogue:Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. And I was like, what's this about? Holy heck, what's this? And then I watched the video, and then it was like cartoons and stuff. That's right. And that freaked me out. That was a big part of it, wasn't it? It was a multimedia sort of a set-up where the whole thing was, Even when they're on stage, it was animations and things on the backdrops and not just the band members up the front and centre. It's called a virtual band. Oh, is that right? That's what the official title of it is. But this album is called The Mountain. It is the ninth album to be released by Gorillaz, and they originally got together back in 98 there.

32:49Mike Minogue:Of course, it is Vinyl Friday here on Hauraki, so why not give away a free vinyl there, Steelers? Great idea, Keezy.

32:55Keyzie:G'day, Sean, you mad bastard. How's life?

32:58Mike Minogue:Bloody good there, Jase. How's life with you?

33:00Keyzie:Yeah, not too bad, thanks. Mate, a big Friday planned or are you just taking it easy?

33:06Mike Minogue:Kind of taking it easy. I'm from the Māori Taupo, just went for a dip in the lake. Oh. And put a bit of mahi on tomorrow, so just taking it easy, man. That's the one, eh? Good work, Sean, man. That's the one, eh? How is the lake, man? Still freezing? It's cooling off a little bit there. Is that Keezy, is it? Yeah, it's old Keezy there. Beast dog, yeah. It's chilling out a little bit. But not too bad. It freshens you up after a hard day of Mahi. Hey, can't you complain, eh?

33:36Keyzie:Yeah, good on you, mate. Good on you.

33:37Mike Minogue:Hey, Sean, just quickly, man, before we can give you, I'm sure Pugs gave you the rundown, but before we can give you this free copy of the Gorilla's new vinyl, The Mountain, you just have to answer three gorilla questions quickly. Three gorilla questions. Pugs said no such thing. Well, he was springing this on you, man, and you're going to look a fool if you don't know the answer. Okay, so first question. Sean from Taupo. How many species of gorilla are there? That was my question. Oh, okay. Species of gorilla. I'll give you a clue, man. It's the same as how many sides there are on a gorilla's album.

34:16Mike Minogue:How many sides are on a gorilla's album? How many discs are in this album? How many LPs? Is it a tour or a winner? Dunno, man. Just trust your gut. Okay. Four. Your gut can't be trusted, man. Well, because there's actually two species, the eastern and the western gorilla, but then there's two subspecies adding up to four. Oh, is there a subspecies? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, Sean, you're a gorilla genius. All right, who's got the next question? I've got a question for you, re-gorillas.

34:46Keyzie:How much DNA do gorillas share with human beings? How much DNA? Is that a number? Yes, a number. It's a percentage, I'd imagine. It's a percentage. A percentage. A percentage. And it's a very, very high percentage.

35:04Mike Minogue:Okay. I'm going to lock in about 83%. Close. What was it, Jase? 98. 98? Yeah. 98%. Yeah. That's crazy. Fun comparison. Chimpanzees, 99%. Wow. There you go. Geez, we're learning stuff. And humans and bananas, 60%. Wow.

35:29Keyzie:That's crazy. Well, I feel bad for Sean, and since he's our first one off the bat, should we ask one final question?

35:38Mike Minogue:All right, Sean.

35:42Mike Minogue:What is the name of the vinyl we're about to give you?

35:50Mike Minogue:Gorillaz. Correct. It's a gorilla. Yeah! Gorillas, the mountain. Congrats, mate. We'll send you that vinyl, all right, down to Topol there. Oh, you guys are too good, eh? Nah, you're too good. Sure, thanks, mate. You hold the line. You're a legend. You're a backbone. I'll sort you out, man. Yeah, good stuff. I've only got five vinyls.

36:12Keyzie:What are they? Are they national? We don't have time.

36:15Mike Minogue:Here's the gorillas. The hives. No. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

36:22Keyzie:The Black Crows there on the radio. Hodaki, big show this Friday evening. The time is 5.52. Well, you're not going to believe it, fellas. Old, me old mate there, Birdshit Chris, has urinated on my bed again.

36:36Mike Minogue:You mean your cat, Birdshit Chris? Birdshit Chris. That's right, my cat. It's a rag doll, very cute, but God, it loves going to the toilet on my bed. probably the 10th time now oh seriously? yeah

36:54Keyzie:oh man dumps well the problem is once they've left their scent there it's very very difficult to get it out even with prestigious washing yeah we had some advice come through on the text machine there 3483 and said this fella was saying he had the same issue with his kitten and ended up taking all of his bedding to the dry cleaners and then that sorted it out. Right. But I don't know, man. It seems like it's more trouble than it's worth. It's cute. It's funny. I mean, it's off its head. Yes. It's a cat. And it's a bit of a deer brain. It's a deer brain, but it attacks you. It's a lunatic of a cat.

37:35And so we're enjoying it. But at what point do you just go, look, I'm not into this? Imagine this. Imagine if you started going out with your missus. You'd been with her two months. She was great, but in the space of sort of eight to ten weeks, because you'd done weasel poos on top of your bed a dozen times.

37:53Mike Minogue:Yeah. Would you be thinking twice about that relationship? Yeah, I suppose. And I did too, and I ended up leaving her. Yeah, right. Was she not into it? Were you doing it or was she? No, it was me doing it. Yeah, right.

38:05Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, but she wasn't into it.

38:06Mike Minogue:So I guess in this situation then, because we've got to get to the bottom of this, I guess Jase. What would Hoity J do?

38:16Keyzie:Well, it's a dilemma, isn't it? because you've done the two litter trays now, haven't you? Yes. Because you only had the one. That's right. And that's been working very well. Yes. You also mentioned off-air a little while back that it didn't have access to the tray. And I wonder if that's what sparked the sort of Marley water spraying on the bed there. Well, on this occasion, yeah, we'd locked all the doors so the cat couldn't actually get to the trays if she wanted to. So I guess I'd be of some responsibility. Yes. But she didn't come over to me and go, Hey, Moogie, open the door, brother.

38:49Mike Minogue:Right, so she couldn't access her litter tray. No. Right, okay. No chance. What would Keezy do?

38:59Mike Minogue:Obviously, I'd leave the doors open. It's the first thing I'd do. Hang on a minute, man, I'm writing it down. Yeah, so leave doors open. Yeah. Outside, though, because she hasn't been spayed and I don't want to get dominated by the local toms. Just whatever door is stopping her from getting to the litter box, open that one. Or put a cat flap on it. Cat flap. In your door. In the door. That's a good idea. Yeah. Cat flaps throughout the house. Cat flaps. So you're going to need maybe three or four cat flaps. Four cat flaps.

39:30Keyzie:They do actually have cat nappies. Cat nappies. Yeah, you can get little nappies. He's still right. Cat flaps. Yeah, I got that. And cat nappies.

39:41Mike Minogue:Yeah. But I still have to deal with the filth though, don't I? Well, your daughter can do that. She wanted a cat. She can deal with it. That's a nice idea in theory, sure. Yeah, same with my daughter. To be honest, though, have you, and we spoke about this off-air, but is that thing about rubbing the cat's face in it, does that fix things? I think we buggered that up because I misunderstood that when Jase was telling me I've been rubbing the cat's face in mine. Oh. Your wheeze. And poos. Right, yeah, yeah. She doesn't like it. Yeah, and it hasn't helped? doesn't seem to have.

40:46Keyzie:And just on that front, actually, fellas, a little bit later on in the show, we've got a bit of an announcement. Re-re-bergue. Re-re. Re-re-bergue.

40:56Mike Minogue:We certainly do, Jase. Hey, fellas, what's the dinner plans tonight? No plans as such for me. Keasy, I'll go home. There'll be a little surprise for me there. On your bed? Either. Yes, as well. Either there'll be something to eat or there won't. That'll be the surprise. I don't know until I get home. Far out. That's so cool. Yeah. Jase?

41:16Keyzie:Well, my wife and I went up for coffee this morning, and as we were walking along one of the streets we haven't really walked along very much, we saw this great ramen bar, and it looked fancy. It had all these lanterns in it, and it looked very, very good. So I'm going to go home, just chill for a bit, and then go and have some ramen.

41:35Mike Minogue:Can you let me know what that place is like and where it is? Yes, definitely I will. Yes, I will. Because I love me some ramen.

41:41Keyzie:Because that's the first thing I said to my wife, actually, because she loves ramen, Keezy. I said, oh, Keezy loves a bit of ramen. Certainly loves his dumplings, but, you know, he'll squeeze some ramen in there occasionally.

41:56Mike Minogue:And what did she say to that? She went, get old Keezy. No, she didn't. That's not how you guys chat.

42:02Keyzie:But actually, she's still a bit upset with you about the sex that you gave our dinner. Well, I don't think that's ever going to go away. The problem with that, of course, is Kesey giving Jase a six on our come dine with me experience last Friday. A week ago it is now, fellas. The thing about that, of course, is we've got three more dinners to get through, and, of course, it's going to make things very chilly. I'm very concerned about the reception that Kesey and his wife are going to get for giving Jase and his wife a lousy six. Barely above average dinner.

42:33Mike Minogue:Yeah, well, I mean, I'm literally just scoring. I can't believe we're relitigating this, but just scoring it as I fouls it. Oh, no, not relitigating. I'm just saying it raises another issue. Oh, totally. Of the other dinners. It's sort of your sex and then will ruin the atmosphere at all of the other dinners. But also, I mean, as far as I'm concerned, it's completely on Jase. If he's just going to score me terribly just because he feels bad, then that's on him. I mean, I'm just scoring the dinners honestly. Yeah, I mean, that's true.

42:59Keyzie:You wouldn't want to score someone based on them criticising something your partner had done or anything. You certainly wouldn't want to do that. That would be unprofessional.

43:08Mike Minogue:It would be unprofessional, Jase. So, look, I'll be scoring everyone on the same system that I used for this one. So that is the system where I've been critical of your wife's cakes. Again, this is the other thing, is that I wasn't being critical of that cake, Kesey. Before we get to that dinner at my place, I want to be very sure that I'm going to have my scores protected. Oh, the cake doesn't come into it. They're going to be legitimate scoring system. No, the cake doesn't come into it. It's going to be legitimate. it. And I hope, like, I don't think anyone here could pull off a 10 out of 10 as far as I'm concerned.

43:42Keyzie:I've just got to say, before I judge Keezy's dinner, you know I'm a notoriously hard marker anyway. I don't give out a lot of buzzies, and you guys have said all you. You don't give out a lot of, you know, you've always said I'm a hard marker. You don't like anything. I don't want you to take it personally if I give you a three or a four or something like that. If it's warranted, Jase, I certainly won't

44:04Mike Minogue:bang on about it for a week afterwards.

44:06Keyzie:Absolutely, okay.

44:07Mike Minogue:Sure you will.

44:08Keyzie:But anyway, so we're having ramen, Kesey. What are you having?

44:13Mike Minogue:Burgers, homemade smash burgers. Smash Pats. How do you feel about smash Pats? Don't. I hope you like them. That's what we'll be having when you come to my place for dinner.

44:23Keyzie:Here's Nirvana.

44:24Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

44:28Keyzie:Lincoln Park there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening. The time, 13 minutes past six o 'clock. Let's talk sport.

44:49Mike Minogue:A lot of sport on this weekend, feelers. Yes, there sure is. Sports coming out of our wazoo. Well, probably the most important one, Jason. I would say that that's the cricket, the T20 World Cup. Yeah.

45:00Keyzie:Well, New Zealand play England tomorrow, local time. So I think it's about eight o 'clock our time. In the morning, isn't it? Yes. Yes. And if we beat England, then we're through to the semifinals. Yes. No easy task, of course. Yes. England in pretty good form. But we too, a difficult team to beat, should be interesting. The only sort of difficulty we've got there is we're struggling to take any wickets. Yes. I think we've taken 14 out of a possible 40 in the round robin. Yeah. We recently played England in a three-game series. Two were washed out. Two were washed out. and the third was won by England by 60-odd runs.

45:40But you put New Zealand in a tournament, mate, and I'll tell you what, we go great guns.

45:44Keyzie:Yeah, we tend to perform in tournaments, and I think we were in the semis last time as well, so fingers crossed for the Fialas. Hey, what's happening on the rugby front? I think Force versus... Moana Pacifica tonight. A hell of a doozy to kick off around. Oh, God, I'll be up all night for that. I know. And then later on this evening, it'll be the Reds versus the Highlanders. You'll be up. Get stuck into that. Tomorrow afternoon, a little Friday afternoon game there. It's 4.35. You've got the Fijian Drua versus the Hurricanes. Nice. Followed by the Chiefs v. the Crusaders at 7.05. That'll be a humdinger.

46:22Keyzie:Have the Crusaders lost both their matches? They have. Yeah, yeah.

46:25Mike Minogue:That particular match-up is like one of my dad and my brother's favourite games. They like that one? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, yeah. Because they're Chiefs men. Yeah. Want to see you get the wood over the old Crusaders. Yeah, I love getting the wood over the Crusaders. Hey, and then we're rounding out the weekend with Brumbies versus the Blues Saturday night at 9.35 it would be. So that's pretty bloody exciting stuff, fellas. The table at the moment as it stands, believe it or not, you've got the Brumbies sitting at the top. Yeah. And the Waratahs in second. There's two Australian teams up the top.

46:58You don't normally expect to see that, fellas. The fourth, the Drouwer, and the Reds down at the bottom and the Crusaders.

47:04Mike Minogue:Are you sure you're not reading that the wrong way round, Mogey? Am I right? Am I right?

47:10Keyzie:New Zealand Golf Open on at the moment as well. They're beautiful. Oh, are you going to do that, Will?

47:15Mike Minogue:I was going to talk about NRL.

47:16Keyzie:Oh, you know who really cares about that.

47:18Mike Minogue:It's literally the opening weekend this weekend. And then, Jase, from next week onwards, every single week is NRL chat. Me and Mogey banging on about the WARS, talking to Charlie Gubb. WARS on a Monday, WARS on a Friday. Speaking of the WARS, who are they playing? They're not. They're playing next weekend. But the two teams who are playing are over in Vegas Sunday afternoon. And last year they sent the Waz over there and a few other great teams to sort of kickstart the season. Yes, yes, bizarrely. This season's four teams, not very exciting. The best team is the Bulldogs, who are a genuine finals chance.

47:51Mike Minogue:They're taking on the Dragons, which is 5.30 p.m. And then before that game at 3.15 p.m. our time, the Knights are taking on the Cowboys, who are a bit ho-hum. I'm not excited. I watch both games because I'm desperate for league. Yes, it's very weird that they've sent those teams. They've sent four, like three of those teams are not very good. To me, it seems, and I understand, you know, you want to give everyone a turn and all that sort of carry on, but it's the jewel in the crown almost. You're going overseas, you want to attract new fans, et cetera, et cetera, have a great turnout for people that spend a hell of a lot of money going to Las Vegas.

48:23It should just be top four teams or something along those lines from the previous year get to go.

48:28Mike Minogue:Yeah, but then the Wars would never get to go. Yeah, well, it's fine. I mean, yeah. Yeah.

48:32Keyzie:So are you finished now?

48:34Mike Minogue:Yeah. Do you want to talk about golf? Not really. Oh. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

48:43Keyzie:Butthole Surf is there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening. The time is 6.25. Now, fellas, the Big Show are going to the Wild Food Festival, I believe.

48:54Mike Minogue:We certainly are, Jase. I was going to say this is breaking news. Oh, OK. It kind of is.

49:02Mike Minogue:This is Breaking News. We are going across the Alps to Hookatooka's legendary Wild Foods Festival. It's Saturday the 14th of March. Mogi and I were there last year, along with old Pug San. Yeah. Hoody Jay was in Vietnam. Yes, I was. Having some pretty wild food as well.

49:18Keyzie:What? I was having some pretty wild food over in Vietnam, I can tell you.

49:23Mike Minogue:Wildfoods.co.nz if you'd like to come along. Jase, the reason we're going back is because you actually were gutted that you missed out on it.

49:29Keyzie:Genuinely, I was. I would have loved to have gone.

49:31Mike Minogue:So we are going back. Now, we're doing it differently this year. We are going to be doing a live show in Christchurch on the Thursday night. Yes. So that is Thursday the 12th of March. It's an official warm-up party at the Monteith's Richmond Club. We've been there before. This time it's the Critic Bar. It's a big – Richmond Club's like a big club in sort of near Shirley there down in Christchurch.

49:57Keyzie:Yes, I remember it. I remember it well.

49:59Mike Minogue:With various parts. Yes. This time we're in the critic bar of the Richmond Club. So that's Thursday, the 12th of March. We'll all be there, which is great. And everyone that comes through the first hundred, free backbone T-shirt. New design as well, fellas. New design. Yeah, great stuff. God, it's a ripper. We're doing a live show. Giving those out. It's going to be bloody good. And then the next day on the Friday, we are riding a train.

50:21Keyzie:Very excited about it.

50:22Mike Minogue:We are riding a train over the Elves. I'm not going to be able to sleep. Yeah. Well, you know, the reason we're going back to the Wild Foods is, Jase, because you wanted to go. and the reason we're taking a train is because Mogi is obsessed with trains. That's right. That's right. I mean, ever since I was a young fella there in D, I've just had an absolute obsession. As soon as you see those big engines flying past you, dragging along cars, et cetera, et cetera, it's just I can't get enough. So I'm hoping we get to go up into the front cabin thingy there. The cockpit. The cockpit, that's it. And have a turn on the horn and slam it on the brakes and all that.

50:58Yes, so good. Do you reckon that led us?

51:00Keyzie:I've actually done that train journey before. It's magnificent. Oh, really? It's magnificent. Very, very cool. Were you on the Crunchy ad from all those years ago? I was, Mikey, yes. Yes. Yes, indeed.

51:12Mike Minogue:Do you reckon they'd let me go in the caboose? Yeah, it's the sort of thing you have to ask first, certainly. Well, I wouldn't just go in the caboose without asking. That would be weird. Not what I've heard. Hey, Richmond Club critic bar, Thursday the 12th. It's going to be awesome. And then we're going to be over there at the old hooker ticker there.

51:32Keyzie:You're going to chew some balls again, Keezy?

51:34Mike Minogue:Yeah, man, and be in the caboose as well. It's going to be so good. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

51:42Keyzie:REM there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening. The time is 6.36. We've got some sad news, fellas.

51:51Mike Minogue:We do, Jase.

51:53Keyzie:You'll be aware of the fact that over the last year or so we've been chatting about our mates at Reburg U. Yeah. And they've been fantastic sponsors for the big show, and I believe the big show's been fantastic for Reburg U. Reburg U.

52:15Mike Minogue:Sorry, are these adding or taking away from the... But today, sadly, is our last day with Reburg U. Yeah, that's right. They've been a fantastic sponsor. They've been great. They've been great. It's been a year. Probably more. I don't know if it's been that long. Oh, has it? I just, I don't know. No, it's been more than a year, I reckon. Yes, possibly. There's no way to know. It's just flown by, however long it's been. What we do know is they've had their fill of the big show.

52:41Keyzie:Yeah.

52:41Mike Minogue:And we've eaten our fill of Reeburger, that's for sure.

52:43Keyzie:And I'll continue to do so.

52:46Mike Minogue:Absolutely. Big shout out to everyone that runs a Reeburger, works at Reeburger. Boris, who started Reeburger, lovely guy down there in Dunedin. Yes. Big shout out. Thank you so much for being a part of the big show.

52:56Keyzie:He was in tears today, apparently. Yeah, it was horrible, wasn't it?

52:58Mike Minogue:Yeah, he's always in tears, though. But just to celebrate, just to say thank you very much, old Pugsans made a big Reburger Sting compilation. How good. Which we're going to play for you guys now. So grab yourself a tissue. Yeah. And enjoy. It's just the best Reburger I've ever had on the planet. Come and try this. Come and try this. Have you heard this before? Oh, my God. Oh, Reburga. Reburga. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Ah, that's really quite yummy. Chips. I've invited you around for a barbecue, and you're going to pass on the barbecue. Well, this is the thing. I've brought my own Reburga. Reburga, b****.

53:41This is so good. It's Reburga.

53:45Mike Minogue:Yeah. Are you serious? Are you going to hit the whole relationship? Is that big, dude? Yeah. Well, yeah, it is over the burgers. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum. I was dreaming about re-burgering it. Oh, my God, it was so crave-worthy. Yummy. This beach, this Fijian beach, beautiful sand, the only thing that could make it any better would be some scrubbed Italy, umptious crave-worthy street food. Sauce, chicken. We just need a re-burger. Re-burger here. Get your re-burger, folks. Yum. Uh, I think I'll be diving into some Rayburger instead. What, well, I'm sure you could do both, but... Oh, that's okay.

54:29Mike Minogue:I'm just scrumptiddly anxious. I just don't think I'll be eating anything so delicious. Rayburger? Hardly no one. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum. All due respect, you got no f***ing idea what it's like to do. I want a re-burger. You want to eat more re-burger? Is your resolution, like your goals? Yeah, well, you know, they say ambitious but attainable. Yeah, as the evening rolls in, you're going to speak crave-worthy burgers.

55:14Mike Minogue:And if you just look at this next slide, You see that it's yum! Hey, class, class. Ray Baker, a rated bunny, a nomad, taking it out, it's yum! This chicken is a free burger. Is it the one that's yum? Yeah, you're right, mate. That is the one that's yum! It's in a world without gravy, street food, freshly made of free burger. Yep. I made out with a Regent Red from Reburger. What's that? See, this is about where I hit the Reburger. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum. None of the people know that they're changing the game because it's so yum! You want Reburger!

56:08Keyzie:I want the Reburger! You can't handle the Reburger! Reburger!

56:18Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

56:29Keyzie:There you go, you mad bastards. That's the Big Show done and dusted for you Friday and indeed for the week. What's the podcast outro clip today, Keezy? We did a 14-minute today, I recall. That might be our biggest. It was a biggie.

56:42Mike Minogue:That's like, it's got to be a record for longest podcast ever. Today we chatted about painting. I need to get up quite high and paint. Stand on Hoody Joe's shoulders. To be honest, it'd be easier to sort of hold Jase up and get him to paint. Right. Like, you know at the start of The Lion King where Rafiki holds up baby Simba? Yes. Are you still good to come around and help me do that painting, Jase?

57:07Keyzie:Of course, Kesey, of course, man. I'll do that for you, mate. I've never seen The Lion King. Have you not? Great movie.

57:13Mike Minogue:Mogi Minogi will love it. Yes, she would. No, she won't. She doesn't go good with sad stuff. She will hate it. She will hate it. There's a few more years in it. We tried it. My wife, against my advice, tried Free Willy over the weekend. Oh, my goodness. And that was too much. The good thing about The Lion King is there is seven minutes of intense sadness. Yeah. But the rest of it's just like amazing music written by Out and Gone. Intent sadness, isn't it? Yeah, yeah. And you don't want to skip over that. That's important for the story. So she can wait a few years We used to fast forward that bit Yeah right When I was a kid No I've been getting her watching Charles Bronson's Death Wish series Yeah good She's been loving that

57:51Keyzie:Wow I used to Yeah when my girls were really young The Exorcist Yes Rosemary's Baby Yes You know It's just to get them hardened up The Omen The Omen What are you up to tonight Maggie? I don't know actually I'm just going to get on my old push bike And go home and hang out with the missus there Yeah good Yeah, not much tonight.

58:11Mike Minogue:Keezy? Yeah, going to go home, go for a walk with my wife, eat burgers, maybe watch a movie. Rebeer? Yeah, nice. What are you doing, Jase?

58:19Keyzie:Well, I'm going to go home, hang out with my wife, go and have some dinner, and then my daughter's going clubbing again with all her mates, which is a boy.

58:26Mike Minogue:Yeah, boy. Wait till they do it a third night in a row. Saturday's the best. No, mate. Saturday's the one.

58:30Keyzie:It is not happening three nights in a row, I can tell you that for tuppence. Grumpy. Hey, go and check out the Instagram account. Go and check out the podcast. Till Monday! You have a great weekend. See you later.
