In short

The Hauraki Big Show episode mixes sports talk, TV/reviews, and listener call-ins, with the main recurring bit being Jase’s “beret moment” fashion faux pas: buying and wearing beige slip-on boots branded “Chaos and Harmony” (women’s bridal-style footwear) from an op shop for $60 (retail $370). The hosts also discuss “things you convince yourself of before you get steamed,” using a weekend hangover logic story (Mexican restaurant sangria before an NRL game). They then swap in horrific childhood injury stories from listeners.

Guests (on-air)

Charlie Gubb, former Warriors rugby league player/legend, discusses Warriors vs Sharks/Cowboys and rule/ruling changes; he also answers “Portaking Player of the Day” (Nicol Klockstad) and what he’s cooking (marinated butterfly chickens).

Key claims/examples

Warriors attack shifted from right to left; Toopiki touches mostly right but weekend scoring was left; Chiefs were blown out 60–5 by Hurricanes; England lost to Black Caps by 253 runs; All Whites lost 3–1 after leading 1–0.

0:00Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Thanks to crave-worthy street food. Freshly made with Reburger. Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show.

0:12Keyzie:With Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh g'day you mad bastards. Great to have your company on this glorious Monday afternoon. It is the 22nd of June, 2026 and you my friends as always listening to The Big Show. brought to you by Reburger.

0:30Mike Minogue:Crave-worthy street food, freshly made with old Reburger. Reburger.

0:38Keyzie:Mogi's just rugged up. He did have his T-shirt on, but it's got a little bit chilly all of a sudden in the studio, and to my immense disappointment, he's put on his hauraki, what do you call those? Swanee. Swanee. It's just disappointing. But how are you, you stud? Going pretty grousy, you mad dog, you sick son of a bee. What a hell of a weekend. One of the all-time great weekends I've just had. Yeah. Magnificent. And today, another beautiful day here and everywhere. Everywhere in the world. It's beautiful here. It's beautiful everywhere in the world, Keezy. I had a monster. But nobody, nobody had a bigger weekend than Christopher Keezy.

1:17Mike Minogue:I don't know if, like, I didn't have the biggest weekend out of everyone in New Zealand. Listen to him. What do you mean, listen to me? I sound great.

1:24Keyzie:Mate, as soon as I walked in the office, I caught his eyes. He's got the old droopy eye. What droopy eye? He's got the sort of little bit of stubble happening. What you've got to understand about Keyes is he's usually very, very immaculate, you know, with his waxing of his hair and shaving and moisturising.

1:44Mike Minogue:He's looking a bit green around the gills today. As per. Look, guys, I'm going to front foot it. I am hungover. Okay? I am hung over. So let's just lock that in. All right? It's all good, man. Jase. No judgment here. Jase. Yeah. You look great.

2:03Keyzie:Thanks, man. You look really, really good. I do, mate.

2:05Mike Minogue:I wish I looked like that.

2:06Keyzie:I bet you do. I love your new boots as well. One day, Keezy. One day you might. We've got a lot of chat coming up, and we'll get to it in a second, but Jase has got some new boots. Yeah, he does. We need you to go to Instagram and check out Jase's new boots and just leave a comment about the boots. You don't have to leave a comment. You absolutely do, and we're going to read them all out just to cheer Jase up about them because he's not too sure. But what I love about them is the reason why you've got them, these white boots, is because they match the buttons on your Johnny Cash shirt that you wear every day.

2:38Keyzie:Now, I just need to clarify straight away they're not white. They're tan or, as Beck called them, neutral coloured. They're not white. Oh, Jase has got his neutral boots on. Oh, yeah. Hey, but I tell you what... Not too many people will feel neutral about this. No, I don't think so. I feel like it's going to be a Pugsun beret scenario for old Horty J. But that's all right. You know, I'm going to own it, man. I'm going to own it. Hey, Mogi, what's coming up on the show?

3:11What's happening on the big show with old Mogi? Another day, another opportunity to get yourself into the draw for the Expo Ultra Beer Garden Tour. The Breakfast Boys and G-Lane are heading over to the NRL Grand Final in October. Listen up for your cue to call and you can get yourself in the draw. Not only that, fellas, we'll be talking to the legend, the man, the myth, Gubby, Charlie Gubb, former Warriors, absolute legend about how the Warriors went over the weekend. And in fact, we're going to do quite a lot of sports chat today because it was a massive weekend. Huge, massive weekend. As previously mentioned, we will have a discussion around Jace's boots.

3:46You're not going to want to miss that. and apparently we're going to talk about things that we convince ourselves of before we get steamed. Well, yeah, there's no... Who's brought that to the chat? I don't...

3:55Mike Minogue:I'm not going to lie. I forgot I even sent that idea through. Were you steamed at the time? Yeah.

4:01Keyzie:I was like, this is a great idea. This is going to work well on Monday. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Here's Everclear.

4:08Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

4:12Keyzie:Yes, indeed, Red Hot Chili Peppers here on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time, 13 minutes past four o 'clock.

4:21Mike Minogue:Fellas, as mentioned earlier, I sent this content through at about 9pm on Saturday night. I was at a restaurant with my wife and her lovely friends, and they were all catching up, her high school mates. Oh, yeah. And don't... Well, I'm just going off what you were saying earlier, but don't be sidetracked. Yeah, true. And me and one of the plus ones, we were sitting there drinking cocktails, responsibly. What sort of things are you going with there, Kesey, when you're out and about? Drink-wise. So it was a Mexican restaurant, very nice one. So, Margis. Nice! We were on the old Margis, they were calling me.

4:52Mike Minogue:Yeah, good. And so, and then we were into the, very responsibly, into the, what's the stuff made with red wine? Oh, sangria. Sangria, yeah. We decided sangria was a good idea. And the thing was, the interesting thing was, whilst me and him were sitting there, We were really in a dilemma. It was like, hey, tomorrow is the big day. Tomorrow is the WARS game. Yeah. And you don't want to be hung over for the WARS game. No. Responsibly. But somehow we had a bit of a powwow and we were convinced. We convinced each other that it was a smart decision to keep having cocktails and stuff. And at the time, I was like, this makes perfect sense.

5:33Mike Minogue:The way we're speaking, this is so logical. I should have more sangria tonight. And the mentality behind it was like, yo, because what you want to do is come in tomorrow. you need to establish a base tonight. An alcoholic base you're talking about here? I don't know. Yeah, pretty much. I was like, because you don't want to just be coming in front foot tomorrow. You might peak too early, blah, blah, blah, blah. Like, this is real smart. And I was convinced. And then by the end of it, we'd all did all these. When this conversation's going on, though, you must already be pissed up. Yeah. Yeah, well, obviously, yes.

6:05Because the idea that the solution, the way that you're going to have a good day the next day is by setting a base of being drunk the day before. Yes. It sort of falls apart, you know, as soon as you're even, you know, lightly prodded, the whole argument collapses. Yeah. So you have to be pissed already. So by the time you're having this conversation, it's already too late.

6:27Keyzie:Yeah, you're already too far gone. It's almost like I was convincing myself. But there was, you know, I used to have that mentality back in the day where exactly that, like if I had a thing the next morning and I'd be drinking with mates, I'd be like, okay, well, We'll set a good solid base and tomorrow we'll just have to top it up.

6:44Mike Minogue:Yeah. That is terrible. Responsibly.

6:48Keyzie:Exactly. Responsibly. We were steamed when we were making that decision. And, of course, that's not what happens at all. You just go on a three-day bender.

6:57Mike Minogue:No, and I don't recommend any of the above. I couldn't not recommend it highly enough. Yeah. That doesn't make sense. But it was almost as if he was just explaining something super straightforward. like, oh, a chicken lays an egg and then the egg hatches into another chicken. That's the kind of logic I was hearing. It's like, yeah, that makes perfect sense. Of course that's how it works. He's telling you what you want to hear, though. Yes. But then I was telling him what he wanted to hear. And the only person that didn't want to hear any of it was my wife and her friends.

7:26Keyzie:And the reality is when you're in that state, no one wants to pull a handbrake on it. You know what I mean? It's like, I'm feeling good. And actually, you know, we'll have a few beersies at the game. Responsibly. responsibly tomorrow. It'll be all G. I hardly ever do this. I've got to, you know, just let myself have a good time every now and again. I've just got to cut loose and you know what I mean? I didn't really say I hardly ever do it. Yeah, well, that would be a massive, I mean, you'd have to be really pissed to say that, Kesey.

7:57Mike Minogue:But 3483, what are the things you convince yourself of when you're responsibly getting stuck in? $50 Reburger vouchers up for grabs. That's 3483.

8:06Keyzie:Yeah, great stuff, mate. In the meantime, is faith no more.

8:12Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

8:18Keyzie:Yes indeed, queens of the stone age there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is 26 minutes past four o 'clock.

8:27Mike Minogue:If you head to the Hauraki Big Show's Instagram page, you'll see a lovely video that, it's also on the Radio Hauraki Facebook, a lovely video that Pugs has put together of Jace's new boots. Now Jace has gone out shopping and his wife has picked him out in some lovely boots. No. And we just want to get the audience's... Yeah, that's got Jace's taste written all over it.

8:43Keyzie:Inaccurate on two fronts there. We didn't go out shopping. We were just cruising around and we popped into a shop.

8:50Mike Minogue:And did she pick them out for you?

8:51Keyzie:No. You picked them? Yes. She allowed it. What she did... She likes them. And what she did say to me, which caused me some alarms, was she said, well, they're not as horrendous as Keezy's floaters.

9:06Mike Minogue:That is not something she said. That is not something she said. 100 % what she said. What, my new balances? They're not that bad. Anyway, let me talk you through it, fellas. So, Hauraki Big Show Instagram, you go have a look there at the video and let us know your thoughts on the boots. You can also look on the Radio Hauraki Facebook page.

9:25Keyzie:Look, I think it's fair to say that, you know, I'm having to work through these particular boots. I saw them at an op shop and they were top quality. Now, first and foremost, in my defence, they were in the men's shoes. So my immediate thought was, okay, well, they're men's shoes.

9:46Mike Minogue:Why would you bring that up?

9:47Keyzie:Well, because I found something out further down the line that may contradict that particular thing. I haven't heard about this. Now, can I just say also that they are top quality. They are very comfortable. They are not white. They're beige. They're neutral.

10:06Mike Minogue:They're beige-y sort of neutral. Are they slip-on? Do they have laces? Flesh-coloured. Do they have laces?

10:12Keyzie:No, they don't have laces. So they're slip-on beige boots. Yeah, they're slip-on. Retailing at$370, brand new. Now, these boots are pretty much brand new, and I got them for$60. I didn't buy them immediately. We walked down Ponsamy Road. I came back and went, you know what?

Read the full transcript

10:32Mike Minogue:So you thought about it and you still bought them?

10:33Keyzie:I thought about it, and I went, I'm going to go outside the box, and I'm going to run with it. Now, I put them on, and I saw myself in them at home. I didn't see myself in them in the shop. Which is crazy. And I went, oh, jeez, you're pushing it there, Hoity J. I admit that. But now I'm just like, and then I asked my daughters, and one of my daughters said, well, it's very rock and roll, Dad. I'm getting Kings of Leon kind of vibes. Mm, okay. I don't know about things that leave the vibes. And I went, okay. But as I was walking in town today, I thought, God, have I just done a Pug San sort of beret kind of moment?

11:16Mike Minogue:It is a Pug San beret situation. Yeah. Where you've had a shocker. Where you've had an absolute fashion shocker.

11:21Keyzie:A massive fashion faux pas, which you will.

11:24Mike Minogue:Just a shocker in general is known now as a Pug San beret situation. Can I say it's a real head turner. Yes. It really draws in the eye. As you said, they're a quality boot. They're a quality boot, Morgan. They're a comfortable boot. Very comfortable. But they're something of an eyesore. Just quickly, for the listeners, what brand are the boots? Now, I looked at the brand. Now, I don't know this. What is the name of the brand?

11:52Keyzie:I think it's something like Chaos and Harmony. So I went, okay, I'll look these up. Yeah. And they're women's boots. Now, hang on there before you just hoe into me here. Not that I mind wearing women's boots, by the way. That's all G. It also says that men can wear them. Oh, of course men can do them. Men can do anything. Same as women can do anything. Yeah, exactly. It doesn't say men should. It's simply that they can. Men have also got feet. My philosophy is, as my wife said to me today, you're wearing the boots. The boots aren't wearing you. She's been saying these things to me a lot, and I'm going, okay, hang on.

12:34Mike Minogue:She's trying to, like, gee you up a wee bit.

12:36Keyzie:Well, she likes them. Of course she does. She's a woman in that woman's boots. She loves them. She can't wait for you to go to sleep. She's going to try them on. Chaos and Harmony, I'm just having a look at their website here. They've got fashion shoes. That's what yours would fall under, Jase. They also do bridal shoes. Oh, do they? They do. Yeah, good. So a hell of a sight.

12:56Mike Minogue:Well, that's the good thing, right? You and your wife can share boots. Although she's got bigger feet than you, right?

13:01Keyzie:Well, actually, I said to her, well, why don't you have them, actually? Because I think they're women's boots. And she said, no, they're way too massive for me. I'm not convinced they are, actually. Well, that is the other interesting thing as well, because we've had a whole bunch of comments come through, which we'll probably get into next hour. But some of them, for example, this one here, freakishly large feet. Yeah. Freakishly large feet. And so it does beg the question, do they actually fit you? Yeah, very much so. They're very comfortable. One of my favourite comments thus far is hell's teeth.

13:33Mike Minogue:Say no more. Hey, keep an ear out, by the way. We are going to be playing a cue to call soonish for the NRL Grand Final. But up next, speaking of NRL, we're going to have a chat to Charlie Gubb. Oh, Gubb, he'll hate my boots. Yeah. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

13:54Keyzie:Whoosh. Pearl Jam there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is 4.42. There's been a massive amount of sport over the weekend, but we're going to get the microscope on one particular sport. That's your rugby league. With that in mind, we've got a man that knows everything there is to know about rugby league. It's rugby league legend, old Charlie Gubb. Gubb, are you mad? Barset, how's life?

14:20Mike Minogue:Hoity. Life's good, and I'm multitasking at the moment. and I got potatoes boiling. I got a baby with a full nappy. I'm waiting for this call to get done, break down the game. Yeah, mate. Yeah, nice. He can do it all. Is there anything you can't do, Charlie? Yeah, there's a few things. Yeah, I mean, probably stay sober for more than a couple of weeks. No, fair enough.

14:43Keyzie:Mate, in all seriousness, though, Charlie, good. The fellas got back on the winning track. They've had a couple of losses, albeit really close ones, but it's always good to win again.

14:55Mike Minogue:Definitely, and they really turned their attack around. Last week, what, we scored 10 points or 8 points versus Sharks in the wet, and then we went down there versus Cowboys, who are a very good attacking team, and we just, every time we had the ball, we looked dangerous. Tamari Martin and Chanel Harris-Tavita, Tua Piki, Chance scoring four tries on the left end. I was very happy for him because he cops a bit of hate from some of the big show boys. Not me, mate. Not me, man. I love Chance. Bloody pokes. Don't know what you're talking about, Charlie. He hates him, yeah. Don't know why. G'day, Charlie.

15:29Mike Minogue:Kesey here, man. Hope you're well. No, really good, Kesey. Thanks for the intro. Sweet, man. I went to the game, but I don't actually remember a lot of it. You mentioned us scoring out wide, especially on the left side, quite a lot. Does that sort of mean that maybe we have been practicing our sort of backline moves and getting it through the hands, man? Is that what we're thinking? Well, if you watch the replays, we were almost shifting it to the right, setting up for a shift on the right, and then they were cutting back to the left. Jacob Laban was just running hard lines, turning in Clifford, and Pompey just had a lot of class on the weekend.

16:03Mike Minogue:He drew and passed every time he needed to pass, and, yeah, it was just nice to watch. It was good eating, wasn't it, mate? I mean, most of our points over the last few years even have been scored down the right-hand side. I just saw a stat that said that Toopiki gets 90 % of his touches on the right-hand side, and yet it was almost 100 % down the left-hand side. So good to see if we can switch it up, score a few points there, mate. Yeah, yeah, definitely. And he was, I think Toopiki was hanging out on the right. But just a couple of, yeah, I need to watch the replays as well. I had a bit of something in the system.

16:37Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah. We're just kind of on autopilot right now. I think we all did. Well, I'll make something else up and see if we can all agree on it. There's certain periods in the game there where we were getting stitched up in the middle around the ruck. They were getting some pretty decent metres, which was a little bit of a worry. And it seems like they've changed their rulings now, which seems to happen around Origin on these six again sort of setups. There's not sort of 20 of those being pumped out every game. So that's something that's suited us up until this point. Yeah, definitely. And you're right, Moogah.

17:10Mike Minogue:They always do loosen up on those rules. You know, I mean, last year it was playing the ball with your foot. Remember that? Yeah. They keep bringing it out and then they stop halfway through the year. But I guess you just sort of adapt with the rules. We're doing really well. Cowboys have a big pack. You know, they've got Tamo. They've got Nani. God, he's massive. They've got Lukey in the back row. They're just big hulking lads. God, smash him. Yeah, and it's like, it's almost like Jase, you know, He watched that game and he started feeling something for the fellas and he got those boots to get a bit of attention.

17:45Keyzie:I hate the attention away from it. When Odie Jay goes out on the field, mate, it's chaos and harmony. Yeah, mate. Hey, can I just say, fellas and Gubby, bugbear of mine, can we stop with the Hollywood one-hand tries in the corner? Just score a try. You don't need to dive in the air and all this. Just plop it down, for God's sake. Plop it down. These stupid bloody, oh, it's the corners open, so I'm going to have to do a big Hollywood dive. Just go in the corner like everyone else, would you?

18:24Mike Minogue:Yeah. Come on, fellas, stop making the game so entertaining, right? Let's just go old school. Yeah, totally, man. Make it boring.

18:30Keyzie:Make it like you do. It's what the league, for God's sake, Gubby.

18:33Mike Minogue:Now that Jase has asked you his boomer question, Gubby, Just quickly, mate, two-part question. First of all, who was your Portaking Player of the Day? And secondly, what dish are you making with the potatoes there? Portaking Player of the Day, we're going to Nicol Klockstad on the wing. Yeah. And the dish I'm making, I've got some marinated, what are they? Butterfly chickens. Chickens? Butterfly chickens. You know those teagle ones? Yeah, mate. That's your favourite. Who knows what they're full of, but they've got, I shouldn't really say what I was about to say, But yeah, anyway, thoughts are with Jackson Ford.

19:08Mike Minogue:I'm hoping we can do it without Jackson Ford. He's a big loss. Huge. Yeah, play that music. Keep the music playing. You've got time, mate. You've got time. Good on you, Charlie. Enjoy your dinner, mate. Thanks for having a chat. All good, all good. I'm signing up to Mogey's Pyramid Scheme tomorrow, actually. Oh, you are too. So he can fill you in on that. Yeah, we'll do that. Perfect. All right. Thanks, Charlie. We'll see you later. See you, fella.

19:32Keyzie:Thanks, mate. is the Black Crows.

19:35Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

19:39Keyzie:Yes, indeed, White Stripes there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is 4.53. Let's talk TV. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue? Yep. Yeah. Yeah. Fellas, what was I watching over the weekend? Nothing really. I was out and about. I'll tell you what I did go and see. I went and saw a play. Sons of Vow at Auckland Theatre Company with our mate Bueller Kweli. It was good. Went along. I thought it was going to be more serious. Right. It's a true story, and it's based on the playwright's own experiences, I think, of coming to New Zealand from the islands back in the 70s.

20:30possibly early 80s, and him and his two brothers sort of living in the shadow of their old man who was a piss-head scrapper, a hard bastard, you know, that sort of type. But I was expecting it, and I don't know why, but I was expecting it to be really serious and earnest or something like that, but it was actually mostly funny. There's definitely some stuff in there that's pretty... confronting confronting yeah but it's done in a way that it's not like massively depressing do you know what I mean? those sorts of things can be really tough but it's mostly really really funny and lots of great performances really well directed yeah I did I really enjoyed it get along and see it at the Auckland Theatre Company that's Sons of Val, Buzzi's Wives now I've seen some Crackers lately, View from the Bridge and Play Fight For me, it didn't connect quite as strongly as that, but I'll still give it 3.2 buzies.

21:32Yeah, nice. Nice.

21:33Keyzie:I think we're going to go and see that maybe next week. Oh, yeah, there you go. I watched a movie last night called Krull. Oh, it's one of the greats. And it's this old British sci-fi, 1983, wasn't it, that I said to you? Yeah. It was made. It was sort of a huge budget on it. It was a massive flop at the theatres. Yeah. really, really stupid. I love watching, you know, those old school movies with their special effects and stuff. I loved it. It was so bad. And it had quite the cast, actually. It had Liam Neeson, Robbie Coltrane, and a couple of very well-known old sort of British actors. It was really, really bad.

22:23Keyzie:Yeah. And I loved it. just so, you know, like the sets are stupid, the effects are stupid. It's sort of like, it's a fantasy, isn't it? It's sort of like a never-ending story sort of thing. It's one of the first films that I went and saw with my dad I still remember distinctly going to see, and I absolutely loved it as a kid. And I went up, I followed up and watched it maybe 10 or 15 years ago, and I didn't hate it. Yeah. Didn't hate it at all. Yes. Look, just because it was so stupid, and it entertained me with its stupidity, I'm going to give it four buzies. Yeah. Out of a possible five.

22:56Mike Minogue:Yes. And that's Krull. Yes. K-R-U-L-L? Yes. So it was stupid, but you loved it. Yeah, because it was so bad. So it was like your new boots, really. The new boots you've got. The women's ones you're wearing right now. It's sort of like those. The shop you got them from, Jase, was Chaos and Harmony. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

23:16Keyzie:No, it was actually SBCA Op Shop in Ponsonby Road. So good, man. Actually feels.

23:22Mike Minogue:I didn't watch anything over the weekend. Right there I said it, other than rugby league. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

23:26Keyzie:And you didn't even really watch that. You were so steamed.

23:29Mike Minogue:I can't remember. But I had a great weekend nonetheless. Coming up after 5 o 'clock, your chance to get in the draw for the NRL grand final trip with the Bricky Feelers.

23:38Keyzie:Also, fellas, after 5, I think we should have a bit of sports chat because there was a lot of sporting action over the weekend. Whatever you need, man. Thanks, man.

23:48Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.

23:54Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're surviving your Monday night. You're listening to The Big Show brought to you by Reburger.

24:01Mike Minogue:Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that will change the game. Reburger, b****.

24:07Keyzie:Yeah, good stuff. Did you have any Reburger down in Christchurch, Keezy? Great question, Jase. Yeah, yeah. Oh, you did? Oh, you did? What'd you go with? Hang on a minute. You're not doing a Woody J, are you? What do you mean? Lying about getting Reburger

24:21Mike Minogue:Look, I had burgers over the weekend Were they Reburgers? No, they were not Okay They were of the variety that you get When you're told you need to eat something When you're told you need to eat something And then your wife pulls in and just sort of gets you stuff That's I want to tell you, Keezy No matter how old you get That still happens, brother Yeah, and I was like Now that you mention it But it's good to be told, isn't it? Yeah, I was like Now you mention it, I'm actually quite hungry And then I was stoked It was great But it wasn't Reburger. I wish it was, fellas, but there was no Reburger around, even though there were more and more stores opening.

24:54Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah.

24:55Keyzie:Were you singing Engelbert Humperdinck while you were, you know, driving in the car with your wife?

25:01Mike Minogue:I wasn't, but I tell you what, I did a pretty severe deep dive on old Engelbert on Saturday on YouTube there. First up? Oh, nah. I found a few videos of him singing back in the 50s and 60s and stuff. Yeah. I was like, yeah, this is good. 70 years ago Yeah yeah And then I found a video of him singing like a year ago And I was like oh boy This gig we're going to next week's going to be great

25:27Keyzie:Yeah My wife was asking about that today She said oh my god is that tomorrow And I went no no Next Tuesday

25:32Mike Minogue:Next Tuesday the fellas Englebert Humperdinck How good I'm so fizzed up for it fellas

25:37Keyzie:For often He's still got it That's very nice by the way That your wife drove you What do you mean? You know because You're obviously getting on it and having an old party, and she was the one that had to take responsibility and drive you around and buy you food and all that sort of stuff, you know? She's so nice.

25:58Mike Minogue:Yeah, you're right.

25:59Keyzie:She's wrung me in a hurr of a mood that night, by the way.

26:03Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

26:09Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Nirvana there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Monday evening. The time, 13 minutes past five o 'clock. Fellas, I went to the pub yesterday, caught up with some mates and watched the Waz. Yeah. Up the Waz. And my daughter came along as well. My wife is two. And great pub, actually. They had a lot of dogs in the pub. People don't seem to mind a dog. No kids menu, but lots of dogs. Wasn't called the long room, was it? No. Oh. And the kids, sorry, the seating arrangements there, it's all on bar stools. My daughter is a sucker for a dog or any animal, really, and she was patting a dog that was standing there, and she was sort of leaning off her bar stool, just leaning off it there, patting this dog.

26:55Then the dog walked away and sort of unbalanced my daughter, who fell off and smashed her chin on the concrete floor. It cut her open. She had to go to the hospital last night. Oh, no. Happy ending, though. My wife said I could stay and finish watching the Was. And then they won. And they won. And my daughter was thrilled. Thrilled about that. Yes. But while my wife was there, just as an aside, it actually took them until about 10 o 'clock to get home because my wife wasn't allowed to leave the hospital. The doctors said she couldn't drive until she got her blood sugars up because she nearly fainted at the sight of my daughter's chin being treated by the doctors.

27:35Right. She's a fainter when it comes to the blood. But my daughter took it really, really well, and it got me thinking about what are the worst things that what were your worst injuries when you were a kid? Because you get some absolute shockers, especially back in our day, Jase, when we sort of grew up in a time where our parents didn't love us. So you sort of just left it. You're just sent outside at 7am and then told to come back when it's dark or a little bit after. Yeah.

28:00Keyzie:I think probably for me one of my worst injuries was getting stabbed. Oh, yeah, that was a pity. Yeah, got my bowel cut open there. Because you were playing Dungeons and Dragons, weren't you? You were playing Stanzies. Yes, and I got stabbed with a hunting knife. That's not even a joke, either. Also, osteomyelitis. What's that? That wasn't really an injury. That was more a disease. Bad stinging, eh? Yeah, in my bone marrow there.

28:28Mike Minogue:Right, so the stabbing's definitely your worst, though, right?

28:30Keyzie:Yeah, I'd say the stabbing would be the worst.

28:32Mike Minogue:Stabbing would be up there.

28:33Keyzie:But, you know, back in the day, skateboarding all the time, I used to get massive grazers on, you know, big meaty, you know, when you come off and go against the road or the concrete, stick the old red paint on it, which stung like buggery. I'm just looking at Keezy's face. He's just thinking about Joe's skateboarding. Yeah, skateboarding, were you? Yeah, I was. I was doing a lot of that, were you? I was. I used to back in the day, Keezy. Okay, it's weird. First, I remember that. A couple of broken fingers. Oh, really? What were you doing? Rugby. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Skateboarding and playing footy, were you?

29:05Keyzie:Skateboarding and playing footy. What a legend. That's about me, though, to be honest. My girl's broken ankles, all sorts.

29:12Mike Minogue:Yeah. I had a similar experience when I was quite young. I fell off a bar still at a pub, and I got a carpet burn on my knee. Hang on, why is that funny? And then that got infected with a genuine flesh-eating bacteria. Yeah. And so by the time I got home, it went from being the size of a current 20-cent piece to one of the old 50-cent pieces. And I was like, oh, that's weird. and I was a little kid, I didn't say anything about it. And then it got massive to the point where it was like, I don't know, huge. And then I had to go to hospital and they, yeah, like a proper flesh-eating bacteria in my knee.

29:45Keyzie:And your mum said, we are never letting you out of the bubble again, little Keezy. Because this is what happens. You get a little carpet burn and it turns into man-eating flesh disease.

29:58Mike Minogue:Yeah, and I was just standing at, looking out the window longingly, wanting to go outside and seeing Jay skate past, looking super cool, with his boots on.

30:07Keyzie:I wasn't wearing boots, Keezy. I was barefoot, man. Come on, man. Let us know, 3483, one of the worst injuries that you had when you were a kid. My next-door neighbour tried to catch up to his brother. His brother learned how to go no hands on his push bike first, so he needed to do it as well, being the older brother, and smashed out his front four teeth. Oh, yes. That was a goodie. Yeah.

30:28Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

30:32Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Green day there on the Radio Hauraki. Big Show this Monday evening. The time is 5.25, and we're talking horrific childhood injuries. I think the likelihood here is that most people are going to change station based on some of these stories that have been coming through. My daughter fell off a bath stall yesterday at a pub when we were watching the Warriors, split her chin open, blood all over the joint, can I say that? And she got 467 stitches. Wow, that is one hell of a split. That's on her chin. Yeah. Far out. Yeah, pretty bad. But we asked 3483 for people to text in any of the things that have happened to them when they were kiddies there.

31:13How about this one here, fellas? I was mucking around a Dad's Hillman Avenger in the driveway. I was pressing the car's cigarette lighter down, and it kept popping back up. Does this make you feel a bit squeamish already, Jase? Uh-huh. So I took the action of sticking my tongue down the hole.

31:30Now, it doesn't say here, but I'm willing to bet that that was a dude. You reckon? There's no way that was the chick that did that.

31:38Keyzie:Well, that has just triggered for me the old knife and a toaster. Have you done that? Have you done that? Yeah. You've done that a few times? Yes. Wow. What is going on? Why? Trying to fish toast out? Yes. Is it sore?

31:54Mike Minogue:Well, it's a shock. But is it really sore? It's a shock every time, but after the first time, it wouldn't come as a surprise. No, it's not a surprise. It's just a shock. I was on my push bike, went through the back window of a park station wagon, split my chin open and smacked my nuts really hard on the handlebars. Do you remember when you used to do that? Yeah, yeah, totally. I was running around kindergarten, and as I came around the corner, I smashed my face into a massive pile of bricks and almost died. What about this one from Matt? When I was 12, my old man body surfed into my foot and bent my big toe back and broke it.

32:31Mike Minogue:Cheers. How do you body surf into someone's foot? It doesn't make any sense. Actually, speaking of not making sense, Jason in the previous break was talking about how when he was a kid, he got injured skateboarding all the time. Because he was so radical. Because he was the man. I was pretty rad, man. I was pretty rad. And then I was like, okay, I said to Pugsna, I was like, we should get a skateboard in here so that Jason could show us how he used to skate. And it turns out that, oh, no, I didn't used to skate. I used to sit down on it and go down the hill.

32:59Keyzie:Well, that's not skateboarding. In fairness, all of my mates did that. We all did that because we had a big hill at our school. What a bunch of losers. And it was like dodgems, you know what I mean? You'd smack into each other and go hooning down. Yeah, cool. You know, and fall off occasionally, get terrible grazing.

33:19Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, and then the nurse would be like, what did you do? Oh, skateboarding, you're true.

33:22Keyzie:Well, you know, at least I didn't go out and get carpet burned. I was sick. Oh, carpet burned. I was six and it got infected. And it turned into a man-eating flesh disease.

33:34Mike Minogue:At least I was outside. A man-eating flesh disease.

33:38Keyzie:I was outside in the fresh air case. I was in the pub. Like a proper kit. Yeah. Not on my knees looking over my shoulder getting a carpet pin.

33:48Mike Minogue:I was like four. All right. I was four. And I used to skateboard properly.

33:55Keyzie:With your dreads and your beads and your hair.

33:57Mike Minogue:It was actually rollerblades, to be honest. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Let's see who's joining Gerion Manaya on the Export Ultra Grand Final Bear Garden Tour.

34:15Keyzie:Yes, indeed. A hell of a trip, that fellas. Hell of a trip. The big grand final, the Ruck Malau. You go over in Sydney there, 4th of October, I believe it is. You and a mate, why wouldn't you? I would say.

34:28Mike Minogue:Huh? Five-star hotels. Do you guys like those? Five stars? Yeah. Whoa. Out of a possible six. Yeah. No, I don't actually know. How many stars can you get at hotels? No, they can do it. It's meant to be five, but then they go, oh, this one's six. You know what I mean? And it's like the world's only seven-star hotel. Yeah. But we stay in three stars, so we're all good. Yeah. I actually stay in three buzzy hotels.

34:50Keyzie:I tend to stay in halfway houses.

34:54Mike Minogue:Hey, fellas, the Rugby League World Cup. Not World Cup. Grand fight. Sorry, I'm still quite hungover. Oh, dearie. I'm sorry. It's really kicking in now. Like, it's really kicking in now. Yeah, I know, buddy.

35:06Keyzie:You're yawning and how starving you are, and you just need beddy buys.

35:10Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah. But don't worry. I'll read all the admin. Could you please? Don't you guys do it. I'll do it. First, there was Paris, then Munich, last year Texas, and now Sydney for the grand final. Three nights in Sydney, five-star hotel, return flights, races, a harbour cruise, grand final experience. It's going to be pretty damn fun. Bloody good, mate.

35:29Keyzie:Bloody good. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Julian, you mad bastard. How's life? Oh, g'day, fellas. How are you? I'm good, man. Yeah. Good on you, mate. Good weekend, Julian. Good weekend. Yeah, pretty good, bro. Pretty good. Caught up with some mates. Had to work Saturday, which sucked. But otherwise, good, man. You got any demons, man? Plenty.

35:51Mike Minogue:Plenty. We'll just leave it there, Julian. Yeah, yeah. We'll leave it there, mate. Good on you, mate. Hey, just checking, if we put you in the draw and you end up winning, are you able to ruin this trip for Gerry and Minaya? Absolutely. Yeah, good stuff, mate. Okay, beautiful. I think they should give their ticket away now, mate. Yeah, okay, I like that confidence, Julian. You're in the draw, mate.

36:11Keyzie:Awesome. Thanks, mate. Thanks, mate. G'day, Ian, you mad bastard. How's life?

36:17Mike Minogue:Not too bad, Lance. How you doing? Yeah, good, thanks, mate.

36:19Keyzie:What do you do for a crust, Ian?

36:21Mike Minogue:Work in mobility and disability vehicles. Oh, bad line. Good on you, mate. So you got one of those lifts out the back of the area, have you? Yeah, we do, mate. Ramps, lifts, hoists, you name it. Flash bars.

36:33Keyzie:Yeah, bloody good stuff, mate. Ian, you love your rugby league?

36:38Mike Minogue:Oh, mate, I was up all weekend watching all kinds of rugby and the league. Yeah, beautiful. Yeah, good on you, mate. And Ian, just checking as well, you will ruin this trip if you win it, right? 100 % guys, good luck to you. Yeah, good on you, mate. I like it. You're in the draw, Ian, all right? You hold the line. Thank you. All right. Yeah, good stuff. Another chance to get yourself in the draw. At any stage on Radio Hauraki, you just have to keep listening and then call 0800-HAURAKI when you hear that cue to call. We should probably chat some sports soon.

37:03Keyzie:Yeah, I'm feeling it. So much over the weekend. You really was. In the meantime, here's REM.

37:10Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.

37:14Keyzie:The Hives there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon. The time is 5.48. Let's talk sport.

37:34Keyzie:All right, fellas, I'll kick us off. The rugby, super rugby final over the weekend, Hurricanes v. the Chiefs. The two probably most deserving teams to be in the final. A home ground advantage for the Hurricanes, who, to my mind, have been the superior team all season. they absolutely destroyed the Chiefs 60-5. Once again, their play was just extraordinary. Their ability to offload the ball under pressure. The dynamic nature of their game just irrepressible. The Chiefs blown off the ground. Yeah, it's a hell of a result for the Hurricanes, but it is an absolute disgrace for the Chiefs and not a great final you wouldn't have thought for the Super Rugby, 60 points.

38:18It was blowing a gale as well, so not great conditions.

38:20Keyzie:It was horrific conditions, I was just going to say. It was blowing an absolute go. The Chiefs had their opportunities in the first half, but they just didn't take them. Completely outplayed.

38:30Mike Minogue:It's such a shame, too. My family are big Chiefs supporters. They would have been absolutely gutted. They would have been excited to sit down, and it's just an absolute blowout. Get pumped like that is something special, isn't it? And that's how England will be feeling after the second test. Wrapped up at the Oval this very morning, they lost to the Black Caps by 253 runs. Hi, man. Matt Henry, producer of New Zealand's best-ever bowling figures against England. They took the final five wickets in under an hour this morning. Yeah, it was extraordinary. And Henry got Joe Roode out with the first ball of his for the day.

39:04I think he ended up with 11 wickets, his first 10-wicket bag. You've got to say, England's in all sorts of trouble because they've got all this stuff going on off the field. Yes. You've got Stokes, who's just been put back in as captain after he was out on the piss, even though they're on curfew, which is a curfew that he helped implement for the team. Yes. Yeah, he went out after the first test and got on the hammer with another player and they ended up in some kind of a fracker. So now he comes back into the team. I just think they're a bit of a shambles, really. And I think we're pretty good.

39:34I think we might tell them up.

39:35Keyzie:Yeah, maybe. And it just goes to show how much we miss Henry in that first test at Lord's. There's been a little bit of chat for a little while now that there's been a bit of falling out between Stokes and McCullum, the coach. So it'll be interesting to see how things play out. But it will be a much stronger England side for the final test.

39:53Mike Minogue:Yeah. That's right. And that's starting in three days. Yeah. 25th. So there's no buggering around, Keesey. I'll tell you what, man. Tell you what. The Waz played day one. That was good. Yeah, up the Waz. Navajo Sterling had a victory as well. Punched somebody's face in. Yeah, good stuff.

40:08Keyzie:Also, the New Zealand, the All Whites and the Soccer World Cup. Football, yes. High expectations here. Unfortunately, after leading at halftime, 1-0, they went down 3-1. They did. They got pumped in the end. It was quite weird to watch because, yeah, I don't know what was going on. They just didn't seem to be taking the ball by the horns. And all three of the goals, I think, the Egyptian players were left unmarked. Yes. Which isn't great.

40:36Mike Minogue:Which is not good in soccer, fellas. Also, I'll be doing a bit of an update on my latest pot. Oh, yeah. We did another pot where the listeners give me money and I punt it. Yes. Yeah, into the gutter. Currently four and a half grand in the hole, and I've hit one of 50 bets. Yeah, that's right. That's not a joke. It's not a lie. But there were some interesting updates over the weekend.

40:55Keyzie:Okay. Yeah, look forward to that, Keezy. In the meantime, here's The Clash.

41:00Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

41:04Keyzie:The Clash here on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday evening. The time is five minutes to six o 'clock.

41:10Mike Minogue:Fellas, this Thursday, June 25th from 6 a.m. onwards, Radio Haraki will be live from the Sky Tower with the latest edition of A Day in Lou. It is supporting bowel cancer in New Zealand and starting conversations that could save lives. Yes. Don't forget, bowel cancer, extremely treatable. If you catch it early, there is a symptom checker up at dayinlou.co.nz. If you'd like to donate to the cause, text Lou to 3483. It's going to be live. We're going to have all sorts of guests and stuff popping in throughout the day and spreading the word and helping hopefully save some lives, eh, fellas? Yeah, totally, man.

41:44Keyzie:Get stuck into it. Now, speaking of which, plenty coming up after 6 o 'clock, including results of the big poll. Read my new boots.

41:53Mike Minogue:I wasn't an official big poll. No, I wasn't, but... We'll just read out some of them nasty comments, man. Can we not? Nah, yeah, we're going to.

42:02Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

42:08Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're surviving your Monday night. You're listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburger.

42:16Mike Minogue:Serving good times and good food. Dine in or take away Reburger today. Reburger.

42:29Keyzie:Don't know about you fellas, but I'm absolutely starving at the moment. What's for tea tonight, Mogey? I've got no idea. Actually, it's probably a curry, a fish curry. Oh, yeah, nice. Like a fish curry. Got a little bit of goon sitting there, mate, going to rip into that. And, yeah, I can't wait. Yeah, beautiful. What about you, Keezy? Because you're a little bit hungover. You're a little bit phony. You're a little bit tired. What does Keezy need tonight to really get him back on track? Well, to be honest, Jase, I want what you're having. Yeah. Which is? Family mince pie, mashed potatoes, and broccolini that's been put in the air fryer.

43:10Mike Minogue:See, that sounds delicious. I love a giant pie with a bit of tea sauce or something. Yeah.

43:15Keyzie:And mash.

43:16Mike Minogue:And mash. Yeah, I like the pie part of that. I don't know if I was hungover. I don't know if I'd be too stoked on broccolini. No, I like broccoli and broccolini for some reason.

43:23Keyzie:I don't know if you guys got air fryers or if you've done this before. Bloody good. Chuck them in there for five minutes. Beautiful. Because I don't really like broccolini either until my wife did it like that. I like it when I'm not hungover. But if I'm hungover, I would want something fattier.

43:37Mike Minogue:Yeah. Put it this way. At the airport in Christchurch this morning, I was eating a katsu chicken curry. Yeah, boy. At 10 to 9. And it was just like deep fried chicken and rice and curry.

43:48Keyzie:For me, with a hangover, it was always I needed some boon going on. I needed some spice.

43:53Mike Minogue:You need to punish yourself. Yes. Tonight, I'm having a Persian spiced lamb leg, which is one of them food baggy type situations. Whenever we go away for the weekend, we always just order a food bag that next week. Yeah. It's almost too fancy for me. Yeah. I need simple right now. Are you happy to cook it? No, no, my wife's going to cook it. Okay, well, that's doable. Which is lovely, and it'll be ready when I get home, which is great. Yeah, a bit fancy. I wouldn't mind just a big old pie. Yeah, man. Shove it down my shoulders. Yeah, beautiful. Speaking of beautiful, actually, up next, the results of the poll we're running on Instagram and also on the Radio Horaki Facebook page.

44:26Mike Minogue:What do you think of Jace's new boots? They are women's boots. But ladies love them. Ladies love them so much that they buy them and wear them because they're ladies' boots. They're marketed towards ladies. They are 100 % ladies' boots. Go and have a look at the Radio Hodaki Facebook or the Hodaki Big Show Instagram, and we'll go through some of those comments.

44:43Keyzie:In the meantime, here's Metallica.

44:45Mike Minogue:The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.

44:51Keyzie:Yes, indeed. The darkness there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this Monday evening. The time is 14 minutes past 6, which means it's time for the Big Pole. It's not the Big Pole, is it? I suppose, well, it's a pole. The Big Pole.

45:14Keyzie:Now, I bought some very, very stylish boots over the weekend at an op shop, actually. Bloody bargain they were, too. It's 60 bucks. Retail, they sell it for 370. Did a lot of research into them. Of course, op, being short for opportunity, possibly an opportunity you should have let go through to the keeper, Jase, but here we are. It's Monday. You've got on your big boots. They are beige

45:40Mike Minogue:coloured slip-on boots, and they are from a brand called Chaos in Harmony. Yeah, that's right. They're a woman's shoe. They're a woman's boot. Jase discovered that later. Actually, my wife messaged me earlier. She was listening to the show, and she said that that company is renowned for making bridal wear for footwear.

45:57Keyzie:Did she think I looked cool, though?

45:59Mike Minogue:No. No, she was quite clear about that, wasn't she?

46:02Keyzie:No, she was very clear about that. She said, Nah. I'll be talking to her about that next Tuesday.

46:07Mike Minogue:Okay, sure you will. Look, there's a lot of comments too. There's an Instagram video, a poll you can actually vote on. Are Hoidi J's shoes cool or not? Yeah. It's also on the Radio Haraki Facebook page as well. And people are being very supportive. Not from what I've read. As you can imagine. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like this one here from CB23. Old Hoedown Hoit. because they do actually have a cowgirl sort of vibe to them. I was going to say cowboy, but that wouldn't be right. Yeah. Were you going for the cowgirl look? I'm just going for a super cool look. Oh, yeah, nice. What about this one here from Logan?

46:47Mike Minogue:If he clicks them together three times, does he go back to Wonka's Chocolate Factory? Very niche reference. I like it. There's a bit of chat there as well about the size of them being massive bastards there, and this fella's illustrated the point by saying, got a couple of honkers strapped on. They do look like honkers. Why is he wearing white chocolate Tim Tams as shoes? They do look like white chocolate Tim Tams. Oh, they do? Yeah, yeah. Go and have a look. To be honest, every time I look at them, I think you're a mannequin and you haven't put any shoes on the mannequin. Right. Because that's the colour of the boots.

47:20Mike Minogue:Chase is loving this.

47:21Keyzie:Yeah, this is good stuff. What about this one here? Ride him, cowgirl. Yeah, I saw that one.

47:28Mike Minogue:Ollie says if you wear them outside, they'll need SPF 50 because they are very pale. 1.3 buzies out of a possible five, someone here is saying. Oh, harsh. Yeah, yeah. They look like they're made from someone's skin. Power top boots. You know what a power top is, Jase? No. Tell you later. Yeah, off air, obviously. So what's your sort of a vibe for them? I guess we should go, what do you think the, I imagine you've already seen it, but the results of the poll, 52 % no to 48 % yes. Seriously? Yeah.

48:01Keyzie:I would have been happy with 20 % yes. Right. Are you ever going to wear them again? Yeah, totally, man. I'm rocking them. I am rocking these bastards. Yeah, you go, girl.

48:13Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.

48:18Keyzie:Manic Street Preachers there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday evening. The time is 6.26.

48:25Mike Minogue:Fellas, regular listeners will be aware that I've been running, once a month, a pot, right, a pot with Betcher, and people basically put money in, and then we build a big sort of stockpile of cash, and then old Keezy places bets on the wares, right? Blows it, yeah. Blows it. I'm currently four and a half grand in the hole. Yeah. 50 bets I've placed, I've hit one. And that, yes, you're right. Yeah, yeah, I've only hit one. Unbelievable. I wish I could say unbelievable. Very, very believable. So this weekend, it was the Warriors taking on the Cowboys down in Christchurch. And Isaac, who works here, who sort of makes it all happen, is just like, are you sure you want to do this one, man?

49:02Mike Minogue:It's while you're at the game. Yeah. You're going to be there at the pub. It's not going to be annoying. Because like an hour before the game, you have to sit down and do a whole lot of admin and blah, blah, blah. It's like, nah, it'll be sweet. So we're at the pub, 3 o 'clock. The game starts at 4. I shut the – no one can now enter the pot. It's locked in. We're placing bets. I took a few punts from people on the chat and a couple of them came in, which is great. One was just like, hey, the ball flies down there undercover, 40-20 in the match. Oh, nice. And we did that and it hit, which was great.

49:33Mike Minogue:A few others hit. Long story short, at the end of the game, I was up, I think, 400 bucks. For the first time ever, I was up after a game, 400 bucks. Started with just under 1 ,500. At this point, we had over 1 ,800. At this point, however, it's well after the Warriors. I'm at a pub after the game, and I go, oh, crap, I've got to go in and shut down the pot because you've got to shut it down so that everyone gets paid out. And I went in there, and I was like, or I –

50:04Keyzie:Oh, boy. Oh, classic.

50:07Mike Minogue:And my wife was stressing out about this. I was like, or I could bet all of it again on Mark Noongarito's Waze to score a try in the Roosters game, which was currently on TV. Oh, yeah, right. And it's such a bad idea. Whilst steamed, I did that. Because that's not part of the deal, is it? No. The deal is that you have to put it all on the Warriors. On the Warriors. I think you would have been liable at that point. What do you mean? If they hadn't come in. Which it did. It came in. And so I managed to make it so now instead of being four and a half grand in the hole, I'm only three grand in the hole.

50:40Nice, dude.

50:40Mike Minogue:Which, like, literally, and the chat lit up, and, like, half the people were like, Chris or Kesey, stop doing it. You're doing this for content, aren't you? And all this sort of stuff. And I literally, when I woke up this morning, I was like, that was such a bad idea. Yeah. And my wife was like, I can't believe you did that. Like, if you did that with your own money, you'd be freaking out about it. And so. But you were pissed. Yeah, I was pissed off. Yeah, yeah. So I think we need to make a rule. Like, I'm not doing a part if I'm, you know. You make your own rules, mate. Well, clearly you do. I didn't know you needed to make a rule.

51:12No, we do. The problem is there was already a rule. What was it? Only bet on the Warriors. Oh, yeah, true. You've ignored that rule. I know. So we can put another rule in, but what chances have we got? It just depends how steamed you are. Yeah, I know. That's a concern, Keezy.

51:24Mike Minogue:Yeah, well, it really, really, really, really is. I wish that didn't come in. I know. I know. Everyone was just like, oh, my God, Keezy, you're going to blow this. And I wasn't even watching the game properly at this point. One eye closed. Yeah, 100%. I don't think you watched any games properly this weekend, Keezy. Well, to be honest, I didn't. It was probably the worst Warriors viewing experience in terms of soaking up what happened. Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure. And you've been to three Magic rounds. Yeah, true, actually. But long story short, these parts are such a bad idea. Yeah. I agree with that.

51:57Keyzie:But you're ahead of the game this time, so well done. You're not really.

52:00Mike Minogue:I'm still losing.

52:00Keyzie:Here's Foo Fighters.

52:02Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

52:15Keyzie:Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's the big show done and dusted this Monday evening. Mogey. G'day, mate. Oh, no, hang on. Before I get into what you're doing tonight, what's the podcast outro clip today, Keezy?

52:28Mike Minogue:Good memory, Jase. Today's clip is called Review, and I don't remember anything about the outro. There you go.

52:37Keyzie:Well, you're going to do a review at the stadium later on, so I'm looking forward to that. Yeah, still, though. I'd like to know just how the city was. What was the vibe? Because when you talk about it later, it'll just be, you know. You'll be going downhill. Derailing, yeah. The alcohol will be leaving the system. Right, okay. Well, of course, we never got to that at all, did we? No. No Key Zero review.

52:58Mike Minogue:Here's the verdict. Pretty great. Yeah, good stuff, man. Pretty great. Yummy food. Good view no matter where you were sitting. And very accessible and in a great spot in the middle of Christchurch City. The middle? In the middle. The middle of Christchurch City. Wow.

53:11Keyzie:How good, man. How good. Mogi, your plans for the evening, please. Going home, eat my fish curry. Oh, yeah. Probably watch another episode of Cape Fear, I think. Nice. Yeah, and then I'll go to bed, I reckon. I need a book if you can recommend one. Got heaps I could recommend. Okay. I'm reading one at the moment called The Names. It's very, very, very, very good. It's just a list of names. Yeah, and their phone numbers. How good, man. Yes, I'll pass it on once I've finished it. Thanks, mate. Keezy, well. What? I mean, you're just going to go home and stuff your face and then sleep for 20 hours.

53:51Mike Minogue:What do you reckon your bedtime's going to be? 8.30. 9.30. Ooh. 9.30 will be my bedtime. I'm going to go home, have some lamb. I'll probably watch something real chill with my wife, like Grand Designs. For a change. You know what I mean? Broken wood, maybe. Nah, it's probably too intense. And then go to bed early. Bella's go to bed early. At 9.30 is later than my normal bedtime. Yeah, but I'm like, I don't know. Yeah, you're a youngster. Yeah, I'm a stud.

54:16Keyzie:Jase? Yeah, man. I'm fizzing about my mince pie and mash. Yeah. Very, very hungry. I'll probably go to bed 10, 10.30.

54:26Mike Minogue:Wow, this guy. So late. Ever since he got those women's boots, man, you have been acting up. You've been a mad bastard. Yeah, you've been a mad bastard. Do you find you get vertigo wearing those boots? Because they've got a very high heel. Oh, come on, man. They're like kinky boots, aren't they?

54:39Keyzie:They're not. Fellas. What? They do not have a high heel. Very, very high heel. I tell you what, I'm going to make them work one way or the other. You're going to strut home. I'm going to strut all the way home. Make sure you check out the Instagram. Make sure you check out the podcast. Till tomorrow. See you later. Goodbye.

54:58Mike Minogue:Bye.
