In short
The Hauraki Big Show (full episode) mixes banter with listener calls, TV/streaming talk, a Fiji golf competition draw, avocado storm news, and a “judging a band by its cover” battle-of-the-bands simulation.
Guests
No formal guests. On-air hosts are Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue, and Keezy Pugs (Hoody J absent on holiday). Guest-like participants include callers Sam (Welly), Tony (via “Tony” references), Chris (Auckland), Tane (Auckland), and Jim (Riversdale).
Guest backgrounds
Sam is a delivery driver for a plumbing company and a live-and-breathe golfer; Chris is a salesman who plays about once a month; Tane is a film worker; Jim farms and plays golf with kids (6 and 3).
Key claims
Hoody J will return Monday after ~8 hours off work; Fiji golf trip includes InterContinental Golf Resort, Fiji Airways, and a Vijay Singh-designed course; judging should rely on performance “hits,” not “ear” mistakes; avocado harvest in Bay of Plenty was hit by worst winds in 15 years (Avocado Place Wayne Hayes).
Notable examples
Band clips misidentified (Fleetwood Mac “Silver Spring” mistaken for Dixie Chicks; Green Day cover judged harshly); Fiji draw rule changed to allow anyone to enter; callers’ “who you’d bring” choices (Sam: bottle-store Hook; Chris: wife).

This is the biggest, biggest, biggest, biggest, this is the biggest, our biggest show. The Hauraki Big Show. With Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie.
0:20Mike Minogue:Yes, g'day you mad bastards. Welcome along to the Hauraki Big Show. It is Thursday the 18th of September 2025 and you are listening to the Hauraki Big Show. brought to you by Reburger.
0:30Jason Hoyte:Beef, chicken, vegan and veg-o options. Reburger, redefining the norm. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum.
0:35Mike Minogue:Of course, Hoagie J, he is currently on his amazing vacation. He's gone overseas. He'll be back Monday. He'll be well-rested. And he's earned it, Moggy. He's earned it. Look, effectively what that means is he will have had, he will have had by then, by the time he gets back, six hours off work. What? Yeah, you're right. Can you imagine how relaxed he's going to be after that, man? Yeah, man. It's amazing because he's missing today's show, which is three hours, Pugs. And then tomorrow's show. Which is three hours. Plus the drive. Plus the drive is 20 minutes each way. So let's say we're up to, let's give him eight hours.
1:11Mike Minogue:Eight hours off. Man. Now, a lot of people might be sitting there thinking, what, eight hours? I work more than that in a day. Yeah, and you'd be right. You are 100 % correct. But I'm expecting him to be well-rested when he does return. Fellas, I'm going to be honest. a wee bit of an air of awkwardness in the studio with us today. I think it's on the back of our car ride home last night. Oh. I think, Pugs. What's that, man? I feel like you hate me now. What? After you got home. Now? Chris? I know for a fact that you are upset at Mogey at the moment as well. He's all G, man. And Mogey, I've got a feeling that you don't really care about anything.
1:49Look, man, I just want to get to the bottom of this is all I know. Yesterday we went to Tauranga. We were promoting the release of the sale of tickets for Black Clash. We've come back. Pugs was driving. Why'd you do air quotation marks? And then we got a message afterwards, after we'd been dropped off, saying that he was in a hurrah of a moon and he wanted to bring it up on the show, which I understand you're going to be doing with us, Pugs. We're going to be talking about that next. We have to do it next. Before you start, man, I just want to let you know, and everyone else knows, that there's also going to be some opportunities coming up for people to get into the Swingers Club.
2:20We're going to Fiji. Oh, yeah. It's happening real soon. Right.
2:23Jason Hoyte:Is this what's coming up on the show? No. Oh.
2:31Mike Minogue:What's happening on the big show with old Mogi? Well, I just feel like because he's already said most of it. Yeah, I know. Yeah, okay. But it doesn't hurt because there's one more thing to talk about. What is it? Keezy's wearing a singlet. Under another shirt? Under another shirt, but it can't go unspoken about. No. If I let this go through to the keeper, Hoere J would have my downstairs for dinner. I feel like he'd love that. I think he'd do that anyway, yeah. He would absolutely love that. It's pretty chill. Oh, God. Hey, 3483, there's nothing wrong with wearing a muscle top to work, is there?
3:07Mike Minogue:$50 Reburg vouchers on offer. Fills. This is Weezer Undone, the sweater song, and you're on the Hauraki Big Show.
3:17Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in. Weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
3:23Mike Minogue:Tune there. Stairway to Heaven. Led Zeppelin on the Hodaki Big Show. 25 minutes past 4 with Keezy Pugs and Mogey. Hoody J back on Monday. He's currently on a massive holiday. Well, four days if you include the weekend. Hey, fellas, this weekend playing golf. Saturday, right? Cool. Playing golf. Thanks, man. I love it. That's cool. There's a bloke that I met on the staggy. Oh, yeah. He's new to walking. You made a friend. Yeah, well, I met him a few times. Nice fella. Oh, yeah. Sort of sizing him up a bit. Anyway, on the staggy, we grew very close. Oh. Very close. Sizing him up and all that. And it turns out he's new to Auckland, likes his golf.
4:01Mike Minogue:And I was like, yeah, let's. Fish out of water. He is? Yeah. Totally. The new boy in town, Pugs. Oh. You see what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're going to make friends. Well, I don't see what you're saying. Do you see what he's saying, Pugs? Yeah. Oh, I see it. Really?
4:17Jason Hoyte:I can see it now.
4:18Mike Minogue:Well, anyway, I was like, yeah, sure. why don't I get my mates together and you come play golf with us and you can introduce a few of the fellas. Yeah. Cause a nice guy. That's a lovely thought. Thanks man. I texted a few of my mates, my so-called mates. Yes. One group chat had a few of us in there. Mania Stewart from the breakfast show is in there. Hey fellas, do you want to get some golf carts? We'll play golf lunchtime Saturday, have a few beers afterwards. Mania texts back, yeah, Bolkeen. The other fella, Storm is his name. Used to work over here. Now works over at another radio station. Left me on scene.
4:50Mike Minogue:Hasn't responded. This is a guy who was one of my mates. Sure. I then text Hoity J, who's meant to be one of my mates. He's busy for the weekend because he's on holiday. Well, he probably can't find his reading glasses. Nah, he responded. He was actually gutted to have missed it. I'm like, that's good. That's what I expect from my mates. Text another guy that works here at the station, because there's only limited guys that play golf that I know. Text Jerry Wells, right? We've played golf before. Text him. He wouldn't answer you. He didn't answer me. He wouldn't answer you. He's looked at the message and he just hasn't responded.
5:20Yeah, no, that sounds right. I don't think he answers to many people. He answers me, but I wouldn't expect him to answer you.
5:25Mike Minogue:Oh, really? What am I lacking? Like, do I need to be on, like, sleeves? Okay, I'm wearing a muscle top mogi today under this shirt, but I wasn't wearing it at the time. Yeah, no, that's true. He doesn't know that. And I want to know, is it just because people are useless or do people not want to hang out with me? Yeah, I know. It's tricky. Well, why don't we try, probably the fastest way to do it would be to call Storm or to call Jerry and find out on air so you can... We should call Jerry. You can find out exactly what the problem is. Can you try to call him Ryan? What if he's doing... Who cares?
6:05It sort of feels like this would be something that we would do. We'd plan. Well, that we could do after a couple of songs or something like that. But I don't think there's any point in us spreading rumours about why they're not getting back to you when we could just ask them directly.
6:18Mike Minogue:Yeah, cool. Do you want me to dial him? Yes, call him right now. This is a great idea. We should have done this ages ago. Yeah, it's not great because it won't get answered, surely. But he'll see it's from Hauraki. And then we'll know if you're a loser or not. Yeah, yeah. Hope he answers. He won't. Your call has been forwarded. You see that? It's been forwarded to voicemail. Yeah, he's seen it. But does it come up as Hauraki? It doesn't. No, it doesn't. It's a private number. A private number. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it could be anyone calling him, Chris. The thing is, like, maybe, like, I've got the text I sent him, and he literally just left, like, and it's just a casual.
6:53Mike Minogue:Yeah, what was I saying? Hey, hope you're well. Good start, man. Did you say, hey, it's Keezy, hope you're well? No, he knows it's me. Okay. He knows it's me. Hey, Brekkie's show's sounding awesome. You guys are so funny. There's no point in bullshit. Straight away. It stinks. Is that what it is? Yeah, it reeks. Because who would say that? Yeah, you're right, because I didn't mean it. I was just trying to butter him up a wee bit. Yeah. You know what I mean? We all know it's not very good. It's small talk. Okay, well, this is, yeah, because I also said, also love Seven Sharp, so informative. And then I said, anyway, I've got a mate who's in town, new to Auckland, keen to play golf.
7:30Mike Minogue:Said I'd tee him up with a few of my mates. Are you keen to play this Saturday at lunchtime? Yeah. I promise you he won't ask for autographs or anything like that. Low, low, low. Lowls. Yeah. Super chill. Yeah. Hope you're well once again. cheers Keezy yeah man you know like what what's wrong with that it's a mystery it's a mystery I mean you sound like a guy I want to hang out with for sure
7:55Jason Hoyte:the Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki the Big Show Swingers Club is back
8:04Mike Minogue:and this time it's going global global alright we're going to Fiji staying at the beautiful Intercontinental Golf Resort and Spa we'll also be flying Fiji Airways and playing two games of golf at a championship level golf course designed by Vijay. Vijay Singh. Is that how you pronounce it? Vijay. Vijay. It's French. Really? It's French. Yeah. Vijay Singh. Got a text in by the way because we're talking golf at the moment from someone who's made a good point. I don't know the Storm Chat but in Jerry's defense no married man with kids in two days notice can get a half day of golf and some beers signed off on short notice.
8:45Mike Minogue:Let's talk about this Saturday, me trying to tee up a game, him ignoring me. I text him on Monday. To be fair to you, Keezy, and I don't like to be, you weren't asking for a jury or a storm to say yes. You were simply asking for a response. I was just gauging interest. So whether they can or not is beside the point. Let's just come back to me and give me an answer, you sons of bees. Yeah, that's the thing. I don't know what it is because I'll respond. Someone messages me, I'll respond. Yeah, man. Unless I don't know who you are and might go into my hidden folder. What if it was like a private number?
9:13Mike Minogue:They called you up like we called up Jerry. No, probably not. Probably just sent a voicemail. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, should we go to the Lions, fellas, and see who would like to go to Fiji with us to play some golf? Sam from Welly. You there, mate? KZ! KZ! KZ! That's the darn anchor man. I am the anchor man. Hey. Yeah, I'm going... You're doing bloody well too, mate. Hey, thanks, Sam, man. What do you do for a crust, brother? Mate, I'm a delivery driver for a plumbing company. You're good, then. Backbone, man. That is backbone. Where would they be without you, man? Honestly, I hope you talk heaps of shit behind their backs.
9:48Oh, mate, the most shit behind their backs.
9:50Mike Minogue:I'm surprised they fucking come back. Oh, surprised they come back. I like it, Sam. You play a bit of golf, brother? Oh, mate, live and breathe it. Yeah, yeah, you're him. Huh? He's a mad dog, you can tell. I know, I can tell already, actually. Sam, if you win, man, who are you going to bring with you? I would bring the missus, bro, but I'm bringing Focifetu from my local bottle store. What's his name, man? Hook, from the local bottle store. Hook, not Hook of Fidu McGregor. Hook of Fidu McGregor, that's the one, brother. Kia ora, I went to school with Hooks. Hooks is the man, yeah. Really? What do you imagine?
10:25Yeah, I went to school with him and live in.
10:28Mike Minogue:Oh, far out. Hora Whenua College. You still in contact with him? Yeah, I see him at pretty much every beer festival I attend. He's an absolute sicko. Oh, my God, okay. This is me. How good is this? That's not bad, is it? Right, cool. So we're going to have like a little Mogi live-in high school reunion in Fiji while Sam and I go play golf. I like the sound of that. And I swear to God that that is the truth, and that is weird that I've picked that up just from the word hooks. That is very weird. Yeah, yeah. But he's a top man. I'm going to see him tonight. I'm going to bloody quiz him on you. Yeah, go on, man.
10:57Mike Minogue:Get the low down, brother. Good on you, Sam. We'll chuck you in the draw, man. Good luck. Cheers, Tony. He'd think you were the Tony on the way out, man. I like it, man. You know what? He's doing so well. Tony wears muscle shirts, bro. That's all I can tell you. Muscle shirt, Tony? Keezy would never dare wear a muscle shirt. I just said muscle shirt, too. So muscle shirt, Tony, is a real thing. Well, you haven't had one beer, to be fair. Hey, Chris from Auckland. How you going, man? G'day, guys. How you going? Yeah, really good, mate. What did you do today for work? A bit of this and that. I'd do a bit of selling, mate.
11:33Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah. There he is. You do a bit of backbone. Yeah, right. Salesman, I like it. Chris, do you play golf, man? Yeah, I love it. I love it. You're right. Every chance I get. Every chance I get. That's what I'm talking about. How many chances do you get? About once every month. Yeah, yeah. I like that. Sales, man. Sales. Yeah, totally. Like he's not out on the golf course every day with a little Bluetooth headset on, driving. Don't tell the boss, mate. Don't tell the boss. Yeah, good on you, mate. And if you win, man, who from Moggy's old high school will you be bringing with you?
12:03Jason Hoyte:I have to take my lovely lady. She's a golfer as well, so we'd both be over there. Swinging away.
12:09Mike Minogue:Swinging away with the misses. I like it, Chris. Well, good luck, brother. We'll chuck you the draw, all right?
12:14Jason Hoyte:Cheers, guys. Oh, wow. Can I just say, that might be one of the more unlikely relationships I've ever heard of, that you go to a bottle store, you create a bond so strong that if you won the competition to play golf over in Fiji, you would not take your wife, you would take the guy that you met and who runs the local bottle store. Yeah. Does it get any more backbone than that? It doesn't.
12:40Mike Minogue:I mean, I was going to say he's just a piss head. I mean, that's the reason I'm thinking. That's what backbone means, isn't it? That's what I thought it meant. Responsibly. Oh, really? Huh? Red Hot! The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The cult there, Firewoman, on the Hauraki Big Show. Seven minutes to five o 'clock this Thursday afternoon, which means it's time for... What's on the telly with Mike Minogue.
13:14I don't watch anything last night. We got back so late, man. I was straight to bed and I was lights out Mogey, they called me. Wasn't that your boxing name? No.
13:22Mike Minogue:Oh, because you used to get knocked out all the time? Because it was sleepy time for old Mogey. Pugs, seeing as you don't get the opportunity all that often, why don't you go next, man?
13:32Jason Hoyte:I feel like it's a terrible one to leave with, but I watched the summer I turned pretty. Okay, I'm watching a lot of it. Chris, you tune out. You've watched a bit of this. It's on Prime. It's very popular at the moment. It's very much in the zeitgeist. They've just announced today they're making a film. Are you joking? To continue the story of Belly and Jeremiah and Conrad.
13:52Mike Minogue:So I didn't watch it. I sat nearby on my laptop doing some work while my wife watched it. What's that? I'll be back in the morning. Hang on, man.
Read the full transcript
14:01Jason Hoyte:Catch you later. Is her name actually Belly? Well, no. It's Isabelle, I think. Okay, cool. that because I didn't get that. They call her belly, Chris, like for short. No, I get it. Like your name's Keezy.
14:11Mike Minogue:Mogi. Wouldn't you call her Belle for short or Izzy? Not belly. I didn't write it. Mogi, would you rather watch The Summer I Turned Pretty or The Winter I Turned Ugly? Man. Hopefully that is the sequel. The Winter I Turned Ugly, that sounds good. Sounds funny.
14:27Jason Hoyte:Essentially it's about a girl who one summer turns pretty and then suddenly gets all this male attention and it's like an adolescent story, you know, teenage romance, etc.
14:35Mike Minogue:Do you feel weird watching that about teenagers? No. Because you're like double their age. What's that? That's true. Yeah, but it's... Because my wife enjoys it too, and I'm like, you're double their age as well. Is it weird? Nah, it's fine. It's just drama.
14:47Jason Hoyte:It's just romance and drama, man. Okay. And just to highlight, it is weird. Okay, yeah. Carry on. But there was... The main characters are punishing me at the moment. I think the side characters are far more interesting. Right, okay. So that's sort of where it's at. I'm just about at the finale for the season. How many blizzies, man? I give it a solid 2.8. Wow, that's a lot.
15:09Mike Minogue:Wow, so not barely above average? Yeah.
15:13Jason Hoyte:Really? Yeah, like it's one of those ones where I'm aware that it's, you know, maybe considered shit-ass by a lot of people, but I'm enjoying it. Keezy, above average is 3, not 2.8. 2.5 is not average. It's the middle, isn't it? But it's also, it's not, no, no. So for it to be good-ish. Above three? It's like three and a half? That's three. Right. It's three. So one is anything under three you're not recommending to anyone. Three is a recommend. Okay. You know what I mean? 3.1. And really good. Oh, you recommend it. Yeah. I'm not watching it. Who do you recommend it to, though? So you can share the experience with me.
15:52To Keezy, yeah. But he's seen it. He doesn't like it.
15:55Mike Minogue:No, he's watched it from a farm, though. Oh, yeah. I wasn't a far, I wasn't like 100 metres away, I was right by the TV. You were in proximity to it. Yeah, I was just on my laptop. How many buzzies do you give it, Keezy? Oh, probably three and a half. All I'm watching at the moment, just because I've been quite busy, fellas, been in the garden and that, doing a bit of yard work, is just that Tyre sitcom. Because it's exactly like you with Seinfeld. You sit down, you need to watch something for half an hour, and you know it's going to be funny. Yeah, yeah. So I'm halfway through the second season.
16:27Um, love it.
16:30Mike Minogue:Netflix, Ties. Watch it. Very funny. It's great. Good stuff. I've got something to tell you about tomorrow that I'll be watching. I'm excited about that. What, are you watching it tonight? Yeah. It's a secret. Oh, wow. Yeah, yeah. Far out. I'll tell you tomorrow. It's a New Zealand comedy. It's a New Zealand comedy. Right, okay. That's a huge tease, by the way. It better not be Wellington Paranormal. Again. How many times have you watched Wellington Paranormal? Some people haven't heard of it, man. No, I know. Yeah, I know. No one listening. Not many. Yeah. Seriously Mike How many times have you watched Wellington Paranormal Have you watched them all Yeah Yeah How many buzzies out of five It's unbeatable isn't it I mean some of the performances Are out of the gate Yeah man Magnificent Hey Going up after five We had a lot of texts coming through Saying they were trying to get in the draw For Fiji and they missed out We will do another cue to call Yes So get ready to call 0800 Hauraki Also I am judging A Battle of the Bands competition tonight I have no idea about bands All I know Is that the chillies are good And so are the phoies So I'm going to need some help with that one, fellas.
17:28Mike Minogue:Might run a bit of a scenario if that's so good.
17:33Jason Hoyte:The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy.
17:37Mike Minogue:Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki. That's right. It is the Hodaki Big Show, and it's brought to you by Reburger.
17:43Jason Hoyte:Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries, and gourmet eats. That'll change the game. Oh, yum. Oh, this is so good because it's Reburger. Yeah.
17:54Mike Minogue:It was so good yesterday, by the way. Yeah, man. I loved it. We did have Reburger yesterday. It was delicious. My guy just texted Jase to ask what he's doing on his holiday. Cool, cool. Yeah, because this morning he played golf like he does in his golf course that he plays every Thursday. He just said, not much. What are you up to? Yeah, that sounds about right. I think he's just at home. Yeah, be on the couch. Yeah, because the weather's bad. And his trackies. And his trackies, yeah. So Hoody J will be back from his massive holiday. Well-deserved, by the way, Monday. To be fair, if I had as long a time off, I probably would have done something with it.
18:26Mike Minogue:Yeah? I would have gone somewhere. Yeah? Where would you have gone? He's gone to the golf course. No, I know, but that's like 20 minutes up the road. Yeah. But I would have gone, I don't know, overseas somewhere maybe. Yeah. For four days. Yeah, I think so. Well, he often goes over to Australia, doesn't he? And sees some family over there. Would have made sense to me. But he doesn't like going anywhere alone. Yeah, right, because his wife doesn't have as much leave as he does. Yeah, true. That's right. I mean, Jace has got more leave than he's got dog squad money, and that's saying something. What?
18:56Yeah, he does. He's got leave coming out of one ear and dog squad money coming out of the other. God, love to see what's coming out of his nose.
19:05Mike Minogue:There's going to be a lot of it. Fellas? Oh, like his honker. It's weird with pugs in here because his nose is tiny and pathetic, and so nose jokes don't go down as well.
19:15Jason Hoyte:Pathetic? Come on, man.
19:18Mike Minogue:It's really nice. I've had a nose job. Hey, this is Pluto, Dance Stamina, and Pitcher Mogi listening to this on his new vinyl player. Yes. Cool.
19:26Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
19:30Mike Minogue:The Vui's Monkey Ranch on the Hauraki Big Show, 30 minutes past five this Thursday afternoon with Keezy Pugs and old Mogi over there. Fellas, Trade Tested Big Deck Energy is a competition we are running currently. If you'd like to win$2 ,500 worth of stuff for your deck, head to hauraki.co.nz right now. Get yourself in the draw. I recommend going to tradetested.co.nz first. Just putting together a little shopping list, making sure it adds up to the value of maximum$2 ,500.
19:56Jason Hoyte:We're drawing one of those tomorrow, aren't we?
19:58Mike Minogue:Tomorrow we'll be calling someone. How good. So now's your chance. We'll also be doing it next Friday as well, so it's worth getting stuck into. Make your deck great with Trade Tested, all right? That's how you do it. Moggy, have you ever judged a Battle of the Bands type situation? Yeah, pretty much, man. I judged my daughter's school speeches last year. Right. So it was like a 15, six-year-old, something like that, yeah. Right, and you were the judge? I was one of the judges. Did you find it hard to be impartial? Nah, you don't try and be impartial. Right, okay. Who won? My daughter. She smashed it.
20:36Well, I guess, I mean. And she couldn't remember a word. Oh. So it just goes to show. Doesn't it? I guess it's the delivery. In the hands of the judges.
20:44Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm doing a, there's a gig tonight. Pugs is going to it as well. Yeah. And it's a battle of the bands situation, and I'm one of the three judges. Right. They've got me along because I work at Hauraki. Yeah, right. And we play sick tunes like Foo Fighters, Monkey Ranch all the time. So they're like. And you wear muscle shirts. I'm wearing a singlet, but it's under a dress shirt.
21:04Jason Hoyte:Yeah.
21:04Mike Minogue:And it's called a singlet, not a muscle tee or a muscle shirt. Spouse pleaser. A spouse pleaser. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Never heard that before. I like it. But the issue is I've never judged a band competition. I don't know what makes a good band. Usually if it starts with Red Hot or Guns Mmm, then I know it's good. So I thought, Pugs, I'd get you to just run a little simulation on me. You've found a few clips of bands, right?
21:26Jason Hoyte:Yeah, I found some clips of some live performances, Chris, and I figured you could practice talking about what you like about them or maybe what you didn't like about them. And just see what's good and what's bad.
21:35Mike Minogue:See how good my ear is. Yeah.
21:36Jason Hoyte:Should we start with the first one?
21:37Mike Minogue:Okay, go. I don't want to see me
21:43Jason Hoyte:Cause I don't think a day that I stand Where everything's right to be broken I just
21:53Mike Minogue:Yeah, right. Okay. Okay, so my instinct this is once again I've never really done much of this. My instinct is that that was pretty damn good. Yeah. Was it a cover of a because I recognize that song. That was not a cover. Was that them? That was the band. What are they called? The Goo Goo Dolls. Virus. Yeah, tune.
22:12Jason Hoyte:They performed that in the rain. It's a milestone performance. Oh, it's a great tune.
22:16Mike Minogue:Yeah, because my gut says that that was a really good performance. You know what that is, man? What? It's a hit. Right. It's got hit written all over it. It already was a hit, wasn't it? Trust your gut, man. Right, I will. Mogi, so my instinct says that was great. Do you? Well, let's just say the music has stopped. I'm the lead singer. I'm dripping in sweat. You can give me your review of that. Okay. Really good. I mean you did write it so cool it's like people coming to watch me do Meat Patty Nip 69 I mean you know what you're doing what's on the dinner very professional cool yeah it was pretty good cheers man nice muscle shirt by the way okay hang on I've got one of those on yeah cool if the Goo Goo Dolls are wearing it then yeah good alright second band let's go
23:14What do you think about that? Sorry I'm a bit puffed from all that singing.
23:18Mike Minogue:Oh, you pretended to be. Yeah, I mean, it sounded good. It's not my type of music. Who was that? What? Oh, well, it was only, you know, sold 50 million albums of it, but all good, brother. Oh, gee, man. Hey, I like your muscles, Singlet. Okay, hang on. Who was that? It was Fleetwood Mac, Silver Spring. Oh, Stevie Nicks. Yeah, no, I guess it was pretty damn good. Oh, we're too late now. I genuinely thought it was the Dixie Chicks.
23:43Jason Hoyte:What was it about that one compared to the other one that you didn't like as much?
23:49Mike Minogue:You can say it, man. It's all good. Yeah, come on, man. Look, I might be sitting in a hoody J's chair, but I'm not going to say something that he would say. Okay. Once again, I thought it was the Dixie Chicks, and I don't like the Dixie Chicks. You don't like, yeah, female sickness. That's not what I smoke you. Anyway. I wouldn't say that in the judging. I would just say, great effort, guys. Wow, you'll go far. You don't have to tell them. And then what you write on the piece of paper, but you could just go one out of ten. Shit. Buzzy. You want the third one? Yeah, guys, give me the third one.
24:29Mike Minogue:Okay, so my instinct, Mogi, is that that's really bad. So I'd probably give that like a two out of ten. No, that's a win because I think that's Green Day. Is that Green Day? It's a cover of Green Day, and it's got guitars in it and clear drums. Right, but it sounds terrible. So that's Horeki playlist, man. Hoi DJ, tick. But my ear tells me that that was a terrible cover of it. Was that a good cover? Well, your ear also told you that Fleetwood Mac was the Dixie drink. The one thing you can't trust, Keezy, is your ear. Right, okay. Okay. The only thing that you can trust is how good you look in that muscle shirt.
25:11Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. The Big Show Swingers Club is back.
25:19Mike Minogue:And this time, it's going global. Farrah, that's the first time we've played the Kew to Cool Mogi. Yeah, man. And then instantly gone on air. Usually we'll put a song in or something afterwards. She's lit up, boy. Kew to Cool Mogi. Cuticle mogi, that's what they call him back in his radio days. Of course, we are going over to Fiji. We're flying Fiji Airways. We're staying at the Intercontinental Golf Resort and Spa for a long weekend of playing one of the finest golf courses in the Pacific, drinking cocktails responsibly, getting massages, et cetera. I'm really excited for the reef tour, guys.
25:52Mike Minogue:We're doing a snorkeling tour? On the Sunday. Yeah, eight-minute tour. That's going to be sick.
25:56Jason Hoyte:It's 45. Is it? Yeah, 45 minutes. It's a big reef. It'll be 8 o 'clock in the morning.
26:00Mike Minogue:More like a brief tour. See what he's done there, man? That was actually really good. What's that? The phone lines are loading up. Pugs, I'd like to hear you come out with some of the zinger like that, man. Zing. I'm going to hear me coming out, man. All right. The calls are here. All right. Let's just go to the lines randomly. Hauraki, Chris speaking. Who is this? Oh, they hung up. Hauraki, Chris speaking. Who is this? It's Tane here. Tane. You mad bastard. Where are you calling from, man?
26:30Jason Hoyte:Oh, Auckland. Oh, yeah. I've heard of that place, man. What do you do for a crust there, you sicko? Oh, I'm a film wanker. Oh, yeah, the best kind of wanker. Not Tana Garrett. Just Tana Garrett, mate. Yeah, I thought it might have been.
26:47Mike Minogue:What is going on? Sorry, sorry. Go to PJ and wipe the greens with you, mate. How good. Sorry, hang on. So just to clarify, Tana, you know Mike from a previous job or something, and the last person we put in the draw also was bringing a guy that Mike knew. Can you just confirm that Mike hasn't fully stitched this whole draw up to get his mates in?
27:13Jason Hoyte:It's a little bit like being a judge, I think, in a storytelling conversation, I think.
27:18Mike Minogue:Yeah, right. I see what you're saying. Exactly right. Tana, you play golf, man? I do a little bit. I'll pick the clubs back up. Good man. Good man. Who would you take with you?
27:31Jason Hoyte:My caddy. Yeah, who's your caddy going to be? Your old man? Who are we thinking? Yeah, quite possibly.
27:39Mike Minogue:Great, so more of Mogi's friends are coming. He's obviously friends with the old man. All right, Tani, we'll chuck you on hold. We'll chuck you on hold, brother, but you're officially in the draw, man. Good luck. All right, let's go to another random, eh? What do we reckon? Hodaki Keezy here. Who is this? Yeah, Jim here. Oh, Jim. G'day, Jim. Jim, you mad bastard, man. How are you going? Good, mate. Good. How you doing off? Yeah, bloody good. Thanks, Jim. Where are you calling from, brother?
28:04Jason Hoyte:River's Dirt.
28:05Mike Minogue:River's Dirt. Oh, beautiful. Beautiful part of the world. What do you do for a crust, Jim?
28:10Jason Hoyte:I do a bit of farming.
28:11Mike Minogue:Yeah, good on you, Jim.
28:12Jason Hoyte:Massive backbone.
28:13Mike Minogue:Yeah, huge, mate. Do you play golf?
28:17Jason Hoyte:Yeah, yesterday. Yesterday before the fucking, sorry, the kids come along. Yeah, I know, man. How much longer until you get the kids out the door, brother? Oh, well, yes. Yeah, well. Six-year-old and a three-year-old. Oh, well done, man. Yeah, well done, man. Good on you.
28:31Mike Minogue:Sorry, Jim, just because you are a farmer, when you say kids, do you mean goats or children?
28:37Jason Hoyte:Children.
28:37Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah, cool. Sorry, backbone. I thought he might have been a goat farmer. We don't know. We just don't know. I mean, all right, Jim, we'll chuck you in the drawer, man. Good luck, all right? Cheers, mate. Good on you, mate. God, that was exciting. How about that? How long was it till Fiji, Mogi? Because I know you're scratching off the days on a calendar. Like four weeks? It's around about – are we allowed to say the date? I think so. I don't know. Yeah, it's literally – I think it's the 17th of October we leave. It's one month minus one day. Holy cow, that is coming quickly. More chances to get yourself in the draw for that trip to Fiji.
29:07Mike Minogue:You just have to stay listening to Hauraki. You can win all throughout the day. Yeah, and you don't have to be a mate of mine or somebody I know to enter. You can be anybody.
29:15Jason Hoyte:Oh, actual? Yeah. Oh, me. They've just changed the rules. Oh, wow. Thank goodness. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
29:25Mike Minogue:Pill Jam on the Hodaki Big Show Thursday evening with Keezy, Mogi and Pug San. Of course, Hoity J on his massive vacation. He'll be back in three days. Yeah. Bloody excited for him. Wish I was in his shoes. Fellas, we're going on a bit of a vacation in November heading down to Dunedin. Have you guys been there? I have. Only once. I think I'm once as well. Yeah. Really? Possibly twice. I went down for work. I'm not sure it's a destination, Pugs, is it?
29:50Jason Hoyte:Well, I think you've got to tick it off at least once. I haven't been back since, obviously, probably for that reason. But while I was there, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it was a nice little city. Oh, no, and then we went back. Yes, we did. So twice. Sorry, apologies. It's a beautiful place.
30:05Mike Minogue:We had a ball down there. Yeah, but unless you've got some – I don't have any whanau down there. I've got one mate down there. Yeah, but you were saying you don't really like him. Well, yeah, but I like his missus. Oh, yeah? Oh, sweet. So that's tempting. What are they up to on November 7th? They'll be there. Yeah? Yeah. Oh, sweet. Sweet. Sweet. We're talking, of course, about the Dunedin Craft Beer and Food Festival, November 7th and 8th. The 7th is a Friday. The big show will be broadcasting live from the actual festival itself on the Friday. So if you want to come along, have a listen and say g'day to the fellas, then make sure you book Friday tickets.
30:38Mike Minogue:Or you can head to hoducky.co.nz, get yourself in the draw there, eh, Pugsun?
30:42Jason Hoyte:Oh, 100%. And also we'll be debuting our hazy pale ale that we're doing with Emerson's at this live show too. So pouring some responsible pints for anybody that comes along to see us. We'll be pulling it hard. We've got to come up with a name for it, though, don't we? All right. So what have we got so far? You like Midnight Steamer. We've got Tony on all fours. Yeah. We've got Tony over the shoulder.
31:04Mike Minogue:Yeah, we've got Mogey and Doggy. We've got Mogey on all fours. Here's one from Sam. I like Mogey and Doggy. I always have. Mogey and Doggy. You love Mogey and Doggy. Yeah, I do. Hazy Tony's Cajones. That's from Sam Nice rhyme Really nice rhyme Actually no I think I've read that one before Jizz juice Sucking on jizz juice Lead back That's good There's something to that That's from Mitch Because it comes with It's own sting It's own little catchy Tune there Pugs Do you like it man? How would we implement that sting? Rolling down the street Well you'd make a sting Yeah And then what? Sucking on jizz juice Lead back
31:43Jason Hoyte:Yeah but when would we Play the sting? With the mind on my Pugs And then my Pugs And on my mind Every opportunity Every day Just whenever just like every other steam we've got
31:50Mike Minogue:and at the end of it if you could put a big yum yes what about yum yum yum yum yum that'd be good yeah have fun with it pugs what about we've actually got two for Jizz Juice Nathan and Mitch both suggested that right Kieran has suggested well that's the most votes we've got for anything so that's in front yeah that's actually a good point Kieran has suggested two large nips Courtney has suggested Steve you just call it Steve so that's not bad either I don't mind it. Big Honker Stonker, that's from Andy. I like the rhyming. The rhyming ones really resonate with me. James has suggested Rogue Stallion.
32:27Jason Hoyte:Yeah. That's good.
32:29Mike Minogue:That's a good name too. That's a good name for a beer, man. It is. It really is. So go to hodaki.co. Tony's Spunk Juice. Come on, Matthew. Come on, Matthew. It's disgusting. Go to hodaki.co.nz, chuck your details in, name our beer, and you could in turn win flights and accommodation for you and a mate to come down to Dunedin to the Craft Beer and Food Festival and join us. Also head to, what was it? What was the bloody web? DunedinBearFest.co.nz, Keezy. DunedinBearFest.co.nz to get your tickets. They're available now.
32:59Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy.
33:02Mike Minogue:Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Welcome back to the Hauraki Big Show. It is Thursday afternoon, almost six o 'clock. Coming up after six, though, Pugsan going to a gig tonight. A gig that I'll also be at. Your gig. My gig, I'm judging. It's the battle of the bands. is very excited. You need advice for some reason?
33:19Jason Hoyte:Yeah, so it's the first time I'm going to be at the same gig with my partner and her colleagues while I'm with my team. So it's just like etiquette around that, you know, being around her team and stuff.
33:29Mike Minogue:Definitely overthink it, I think. Yeah, 100%. Absolutely. Yeah, cool. Also, it says here the return of avocado chat with old Mogey. Yeah, look, I'm not going to give too much away, but there's been some huge news in the world of avocados. Oh, God. I've been waiting for an update. So a bit of an update there for you, Pugson. No, no, no, you love it, baby. That plus some exciting news around the breakers and how you could win a chance to sit sideline at one of their games. So make sure you stay tuned.
33:56Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy.
33:59Mike Minogue:Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Welcome along to the Hauraki Big Show. You've got Keezy, Mogi and old Pugsane as well. And of course, the Hauraki Big Show is brought to you by Reburger. Serving good times and good food. Dine in or take away Reburger today. Yummy. Bloody good. The burger I had yesterday, Jase had the same burger. We couldn't remember the name of it. It is Regent Red. Regent Red. Regent Red. Bloody delicious. What did you get there, Moggy? No idea. Maybe a Smash Prince or a Smash King or something like that. Oh, yeah, Smash King.
34:30Jason Hoyte:I got the Super Nash, which had a spice level of three, and it was mean. It was like the perfect amount. Quite often I kind of big ball it and then go as spicy as I possibly can and then end up dying and crying. Yeah. But this was absolutely sublime. Delicious.
34:45Mike Minogue:Has it come back to you yet? Do you know what I mean? No. Have you processed it yet? Yep. And it was sweet as? But it was all G, man. Because that's a big part of it for me is like I love spicy food too, but if the processing part of it is difficult and – Yeah. Yeah. Then I'm never getting it again.
35:01Jason Hoyte:I've never had that issue with spicy food. I'll suffer in the moment. Yeah. And then no issues later.
35:06Mike Minogue:Is it like you're really good or you're just like numb down there? I've just got a gut of iron. Yeah, right. Iron gut. because, Mogi, I don't know what you're like with hot food. You're quite good with hot food, aren't you? Yeah, I like hot food. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But not to the point where it becomes like that's the main focus. It's like, look at what we made. You can barely eat it. Yeah. I'm not into that. It should add to the flavor and experience. So true, man. That's my vibe. Sometimes I get a burning peace, but you don't know until it's too late often, I find. You know? Oh, bro. You know what I'm saying?
35:40100 % man and Pugs it's probably all in front of you 24 hours what a burning piece it'll take about 24 hours for you to find out really? any minute now
35:49Mike Minogue:oh great yeah can't wait your piece will be burning yeah hey stay tuned for that
35:55Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki
36:01Mike Minogue:a bit of Def Leppard on The Hauraki Big Show and it's Thursday night Keezy, Pugs, Son and Mogi Hoody J on his massive overseas holiday he'll be back Monday it's time now for
36:14Jason Hoyte:Or this is Breaking News. You are on Hoardy J.C. I am, man. Huge news out of the Bay of Plenty, fellas. There's been some huge storms, strong winds, avocado harvest been getting absolutely hammered. Yeah. Wayne Hayes of the Avocado Place.
36:34Mike Minogue:Right, the Avocado Place. The Avocado Place, so that's the name of it. He said it was the worst wind he'd experienced in his 15 years on his orchard. Wow. Woken up by strong winds during the night. Then he went outside and there was strong winds out there as well, am I right? You're joking. You get it, man. And he had to go outside and secure things, shaking the heck out of the house. Some of the leaves came off the trees. But yeah, surely not just the leaves, though. That's the main complaint. Lost a lot of fruit off the trees as well. Well, that's the main one. Particularly the exposed trees there, Keezy.
37:05but what you're missing, of course, is leaf loss. That's growing the engine. It drives the fruit growth, and so that's going to take a wee while to recover.
37:17Mike Minogue:No, I know, but the fruit is the main one, though, right? Because the fruit being taken off early, that's their harvest gone. Well, I mean, yeah, that's not ideal, but according to Wayne, it's losing the leaves. Right, so Wayne... And he's got a place called the avocado place. What have you got? No, I mean, my parents have an avocado wardrobe. It's in the name. Yeah, yeah. My parents have an avocado orchid. But has it got a name? I think it's called Richmond. No, actually, no, it doesn't. Not anymore. Yeah, you see? This guy's the avocado place. He's all about it. Wait, just so, Wayne from the avocado place, just quickly.
37:46Mike Minogue:Yeah. Sounds like rain. He would rather lose all the fruit off his trees rather than lose the leaves. Yeah. Really? Well, according to what he's saying here. Well, I find that hard to believe. I'm learning so much. Well, you can call Wayne about it, man. I would just Google the avocado place. You should be able to get a hold of him pretty quick. The one silver lining, I would say, Keezy, would be that the losses will tighten supply. Right. And that's going to drive good prices for the growers. Oh, okay. Yeah, but the thing is, Moggy, they've got to spend a fortune just getting the fruit collected and put in bins.
38:20Mike Minogue:Guacamole. Yeah, eventually. You've missed a few steps there. No, I think that they should start selling guacamole. Ah. Oh, with the fruit on the ground now. Can you imagine that? That's a good sideline business. It'd be hard to mash up when they're not ripe enough. Who are you talking about? Wayne. Wayne. And anybody that's suffering from the impact of the high winds. Well, actually. Did your parents suffer? Yeah, they did suffer, actually. My dad called me. It was last weekend, just gone. And he said it's the worst winds in his 20 years of having Avvo. Well, that's more years than Wayne. That's more than Wayne.
38:50Mike Minogue:In fact, I think my parents should change it to the Avvo place because they've been doing it for years. Actually, he called me. He was in tears. Don. Right. And he was literally like, mate, son, we've lost our harvest. Like, I don't know what we're going to do. You come from a long line of crybabies? Well, not a long line, just me, my dad and my granddad. But, I mean, he was pretty devastated because he lost his crop and it was like, you know, that's game over for mum and dad, you know. That must have been a crap load.
39:15Jason Hoyte:How many trees are they running? Oh, two. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
39:21Mike Minogue:That is actually Green Day on the Radio Hauraki Big Show, Thursday evening with Keezy Pugs and old Mogey over there. The Breakers, fellas, they're back. First home game tomorrow night. Man, how sick. It's a new season already. Yeah, yeah, 100%. Spark Arena, they'll be playing. It says here the energy is building already. So that must be what you were talking about earlier in the show where the electricity builds inside your modem. So they've obviously got that process started. Hauraki is offering a pretty amazing opportunity if you would like to sit courtside and get this on the backbone bench.
39:56Mike Minogue:Yeah, man, it's the backbone bench. I think it's just a regular bench. You're just courtside, but you get some backbone tees.
40:02Jason Hoyte:Well, I think they call it the backbone bench because that's where the backbones sit, man. Oh, right. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, right. Yeah, right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Didn't you used to MC the games or something?
40:10Mike Minogue:Yeah, but I don't really want to talk about that, Pugs. Yeah, you did. What do you mean? Well, I used to.
40:14Jason Hoyte:That was like your bread and butter, man.
40:15Mike Minogue:No, I know. It wasn't my bread and butter. I've seen you do it. I don't know. I'm more of an Olivani guy anyway, but it just didn't end up going as well as we'd hoped. You used to wear a suit when you did it. I did used to wear it. No, I didn't. I used to wear a suit when I was emceeing the Silver Ferns. Oh, yeah. That also stopped quite quickly. Oh, man. What's going on there? Basically, they didn't want me back. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, I'm sorry. Don't be sorry, man. Oh. Any specific reason given or just? I think just shit. Yes. Yeah, that makes sense. Well, yeah. So, but if you'd like to sit on the backbone bench.
40:52Mike Minogue:Well, you're not going to be at this right now. No, no. I won't be emceeing. It would be great. All good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It'll be great. I think Cheeky the Keyer might be MCing. You know, one of the locals there, so that'll be good. If you're keen to sit courtside on the Backbone bench, you get Backbone tees, you get to see all the action up close. Text BENCH to 3483. Really? I would have thought Backbone would have been the one there. Wow, yeah, you're right, Mogi.
41:13Jason Hoyte:But we get people texting Backbone all the time. That's true. You know what I mean? It'll get confusing.
41:18Mike Minogue:So text BENCH 3483. Get yourself in the draw. You have to get yourself to Auckland because it's all very like, it's tomorrow. Yes. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Bench, 3-4 up, 3-4-8-3. God, this is why I got the sack from being the MC. 3-4 up, 3. I'll put my 3-4 up your 3 in a minute. Nice. Here's Ray.
41:34Jason Hoyte:The Horaki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Horaki.
41:40Mike Minogue:Talking Heads on the Horaki Big Show. It's Thursday night with Keezy, Pugs, and Moggy. Hoody J, back Monday. Pugs, we're going to a gig together tonight, man. I know. I'm really excited.
41:49Jason Hoyte:I'm really excited to see you in action, Chris. Yeah, man. He wants to watch me in action, Moggy. Action, Chris. You hear that? Especially in that singlet. No, don't start muscle tea. Muscle tea's chest. Muscle tea's chest. But I did need some advice from you fellas. So it's not just me going tonight. The whole Hodaki team's going and I'm going along with them. I haven't. This is the first I've heard about it. What do you mean the whole Hodaki team? Yeah, Hoody J's coming as well. Well, now I know you're lying. There's no way. He's come back from Greece. He's come along to battle all the bands.
42:17Jason Hoyte:So who is going? Is Dilly going? Dilly, no.
42:21Mike Minogue:Yeah, maybe. Okay, so the whole Hodaki team's not going. Are you going, Moggy? No. It sounds like me and Pugs are going. That's exactly what it sounds like. Because there is no one else in our team. True. Jeremy and Mania, they're going to go as well.
42:33Jason Hoyte:Jeremy and Mania is also going. But I guess I consider Isaac and Blake as also part of the Horefi team. They're explicitly not part of the team. They're people you know. They are. They were. And they were. They got fired. Look, we're getting into the nitty gritty. I'm not sure it's necessary. What did you need advice on, man? So we're all going as a team. My partner is also going along to the gig as a team. Now, this is an event. She's going as a one-man team or woman. There is going to be, it is a beveragesed event, you could say, responsibly. All I'll say is just keep it in your pants, Pugs.
43:08100%.
43:09Jason Hoyte:I've got to back Mogey up on this one. I haven't even asked a question yet. You've got a missus, man, so let's just leave it there. Well, she's going to be there, evidently, as a one-man team or woman. Yes. But also her team from upstairs with the big dogs are going to be there too. So it's the Horeiki team. They'll be there as well. So Pugs with the big dogs. Well, no, this is the thing. I'm going with our big dogs. Right, okay. Who? Who are our big dogs? Isaac and Blake. Just the team. We're going on our team. Jeremy Mawells and Minaya and Hoare J. But I just kind of wondered. I'm not really sure.
43:40Jason Hoyte:I've never been in that situation where I have to conduct myself with my team, with her team there. do I like leave her with her team and kind of let them do their thing? Or do I go and socialise, maybe have a chat? It's weird because you're running two personalities. That's the trouble. And now you're in a situation where those two personalities are going to collide. Well, I don't want to necessarily ditch the team, but I think it'd be nice to, I feel like maybe it'd be nice to go hang out and say g'day and introduce myself to the big dogs from upstairs.
44:09Mike Minogue:At the end of the day, I'll be with the Hauraki team, right? I'm obviously judging the event because it's a battle of the band situation. but you don't need us anymore your partner is your future the big dogs upstairs that's your future they are worth your time we are not Isaac and Blake they've been fired you already work with me why spend time why invest time into us so you think I should
44:31Jason Hoyte:like go along with our team and then just as soon as we get in the door just say alright catch you guys later as soon as you see
44:36Mike Minogue:someone better that could make your life better ditch everyone around prioritise
44:40Jason Hoyte:and sort of isolate myself from my mates just to be clear You know, when you get there, your team, Keezy, is going to be judging. Yeah, mate. So you can't go and hang out with them. Everybody else there is not on your team. So you're going to need to make some friends pretty quick.
44:55Mike Minogue:Yeah, mate. And I know you're struggling. What? Excuse me. No. Yeah, so I'm going to be, as soon as we get there, I'm going off to the judges' area. Yeah, it's a special roped-off area, only for people that have got singlets on. Mogi, this chat isn't about my muscle top, all right? I'm going to do my shirt up. It's going to be so sad. But you'll be fine, Pugs. Oh, thanks, guys. I'll let you suckle at the buzzy of old keys.
45:19Jason Hoyte:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
45:32Mike Minogue:Do you think we'd ever get to the point with this show where we'll have a live band in the studio that fires that up at the end of every show? I think when we have our TV show going. Yeah? Yeah, which is any time now. Are we allowed to talk about that? The TV chat show of the Horeki Big Show.
45:46Jason Hoyte:The TV chat show of the Horeki Big Show. Okay, yeah.
45:50Mike Minogue:Apparently, because we had a whole other name, but apparently nowadays to get more viewers, you have to have like 10 syllables. You have to know what. You've got to put the name of it in the title. People want to know what it is. Yeah, right. It's like it says what it does on the tin. Yes. Straightforward approach. The Horeki Big Show, but it's a TV show. Chat show. Which is another idea we had. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But that one, I don't know what kind of show it was. No. So we had to add chat show in there. Chat, chat. I'm clear, yeah. Chat, chat. What are you up to tonight, Keezy? Well, I'm judging about...
46:21Mike Minogue:Good question, Mo. I'm judging a Battle of the Bands gig. In fact, my Uber's just message saying he's outside. So I'm going to go do that. Pug-san's going to come a little later on, and we're probably going to have a few responsible lemonades. It's gotten to that stage of the week, because I'm on the wagon again from last weekend. as I was on the wagon going into that weekend as well and then got off it. And then the wagon got a flat tyre, but you fixed it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Stuff that wagon, man. Mogi's sobriety update. But it's sort of, I get to this day of the week and I'm like, oh. A few beers, fills.
46:51At least. It's about like that.
46:52Mike Minogue:At least when you look outside. It's miserable. It's wet and shit and cold. It's good for red wine, though. It's good red wine weather. You'll find a way to justify it. Oh, yeah. No matter. Absolutely. Easy. Hey, if you've enjoyed the show, the podcast outro will be available at 7.30pm. Ian, what's the clip about today, Pugs? Just about sharing confidential info. Oh, yeah. Circle it, underline it.
47:13Jason Hoyte:A long-time Citrus fan. Can we beep this out as well? This is secret chat, man.
47:18Mike Minogue:Mike, this is not public knowledge. I'm going to go through and go and bleep it out. Because I think it's damaging our brand. F*** you. I'm going to bleep you out for the whole podcast. Yeah, well, basically, earlier in the podcast, Mike revealed some apparently secret information that wasn't public knowledge, even though he thought it was very tedious and didn't matter. That's fair. How hard are you fighting the urge right now to not say what it is? No, I'm fine with it. Pugs has made his stance clear on it. Thanks, man. Yeah. That's good. That's how you do it, right? You muck around, you have jokes, but then once we find out that you are getting visibly upset, I wouldn't go there far.
47:53Mike Minogue:Absolutely freaking out. Just an extension of, you know, you're like a foot soldier for the brass, you know? If you've got any sort of feeling like they're going to be against it, you're just straight in there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're like Sergeant Schilt. I don't even know who that is, man. I know. It's a hard reference. It's a hard reference. Pugs. When Mogi does his old references, man. Yeah. Just like nodding. Like I'm in trouble? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What is that? Dad's army? Yeah, dad's army. Of course. Hey, thanks for listening. We'll be back again tomorrow at 4 p.m.
48:24Mike Minogue:Of course, the highlights of the show available in podcast form from 7.30 p.m. tonight. Until then, you have a bloody ripper.
