0:00The Hauraki Big Show. Thanks to Craveworthy Street Food. Freshly made with Reburger. Welcome, this is Big, to the Hauraki Big Show. Really Big.

0:13Keyzie:With Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh, g'day you mad bastards. Great to have your company this Friday afternoon, the 18th of July 2025. And you as always, listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburger. Craveworthy street food, freshly made with Reburger. Reburger. Chips. Reburger. I never get that one. Oh, what a bugger, eh? I tell you what, fellas. You know, usually I bang on about what a stud you are, Mogey. Yeah. I haven't changed my mind on that, because you're always a stud. You're a Greek god. You're an Adonis. And you're wearing your tighty-whitey too, which is my favourite.

0:53Keyzie:But God, oh, Keezy's looking sharp as well. I feel, I'll be honest with you, I'm feeling a bit frumpy in comparison to both of you. But let's start with you, Mogi. How are you?

1:08Jase:Going grousey, mate, you mad dog, you 600B. It's Friday, which makes me happy, but it's also a sad day because it's Keezy's last day. It is his last day. He's leaving the big show and yeah, it's been a hell of a time. It's been a journey. Yeah. Yeah. But a sad day for all of us. Yeah, yeah. Do you have anything you want to say to Keezy as he starts his last shift here on the big show? Flick us through a text on 3483. Give us a ring on 0800 Horeki or indeed use a talkback function on your iHeartRadio app. Yeah, yeah. I'm going on vacation, eh, fellas? So just for a few weeks there. Leaving the big show.

1:45Keyzie:Yeah, on his way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fulfilling his dreams. After the big smoke. Someone's texting saying yes. so it's good stuff fellas I won't be having any of that shit on this show I'll tell you that much why do you laugh so much then I feel it even more keenly because I'm losing my golf buzzy buddy you know what I mean and so it's going to be lonely old hoity Jay on the course now smacking his balls just quietly walking from ball to ball looking through the bush and jeffing by himself I'm going to miss that so much It's going to be a lonely, lonely sight. Doesn't that sound like so much fun?

2:26Keyzie:Totally. Hey, Jase, Jase, Jase. You look great, man. Oh, thanks. You've got your yellow skivvy on, man. It looks good. It's not. First and foremost, it's not yellow. I don't even know what you... I'd call it metallic green. It's green. Yeah, metallic green. Jase is wearing a metallic shirt.

2:44Jase:You're meant to wear a Metallica shirt, not a metallic shirt. Damn it. Hey, here's a tune.

2:49Keyzie:A bit of Barracuda. The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy. Yes, indeed. Primal Scream there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. How good, fellas, Friday. Hey, Keezy, you're off to Europe for three weeks. Beautiful, mate. But before that, drama. There is drama. Also, don't forget it is Friday, so if you have a shout-out, sorry, a frown-out, text it at 3-4-8-3 and you can win yourself a$50 Reburger voucher. There has been drama. A lot of people might have seen this. May have heard it in the news as well. A couple were caught blatantly having an affair at a Coldplay concert.

3:28The concert was in Boston, and the big screen was cutting between – they must have been singing some sort of romantic song. It was cutting between couples that were, like, hugging and stuff. Yeah. Pashing. Pashing and all that. Cut to this one couple. It's sort of the guy behind with his arms around the woman in front. Classic. It's a classic Mogey one, that. And she freaks out, ducks down out of the video, and he's just sort of standing there looking all embarrassed. And then it's come out straight away. People on the internet were like, they're having an affair. They found their LinkedIn pages.

3:58Turns out he's the CEO of a company and she's his head of HR. So this is like nowadays, man, if you do something even slightly dodgy, people will track you down straight away. Yeah. It's pretty crazy. But on the back of that, just sort of thinking, you know, rules around taking your mistress to a concert, Jase. I mean, that's probably something you could speak to. and how to sort of get away with it. Yeah.

4:19Keyzie:Yeah, well, you know, back in the day, you know, my shagging days, fellas, I had more than one mistress. So that was a bigger challenge for me was that I'd have three or four of the same, you know, mistresses at the same gig. So you'd take them all to the same gig? Yeah, but, you know, I was so steamed most of the time during those days, Keezy, I'd forget. Right. And I'd invite one of them and then I'd go, oh, jeez, Oh, that's right. Oh, Daniel's coming as well. And Harry. Yeah, and Louise and Ruben's coming as well, you know. And it's like, oh, and so I always found that very, very uncomfortable.

4:56Keyzie:And so I'd have to, you know, I'd have a bit of a passion, a bit of a hug from behind, sort of a spooning scenario. And then I'd go, oh, just got to go wheeze. And then go over to Ruben and, you know, nuzzle up against his head, very firm buttocks. Right, but then there's three or four of them there, right? Three or four of them, yeah. So I had to try and juggle them and keep them apart. Of course, back in those days, fellas, we didn't have your phones and things like that. So it wasn't as perilous as it is now.

5:26Jase:Didn't have the cameras at the concerts. Didn't have a jumbotron showing it to everybody there. So, yeah, a bit easier for you there, Jase. But the problem was at those concerts is oftentimes you'd be, you know, there'd only be about half a dozen people in the audience because it would be like a comedy gig with you guys headlining Sugar and Spice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Something like that. So it made it very difficult for you to hide in the crowd, I'm sure.

5:48Keyzie:Yeah, look, I've got to tell you, there were some very awkward evenings, fellas. Very awkward. But today, what I try and do is sort of stare away from big crowds with my mistress. Right, okay. So you're still running a couple? Two or three. Oh, two at the moment, actually. I had a bit of a falling out with the third. Yeah. But no, we stick to sort of hotel rooms, things like that. Yeah, cool. That's my advice. I wouldn't take them to any gigs or any of that sort of carry-on. So this has gone viral. My question is, do you feel sorry for them in any way? You know what I mean? Because they are having an affair, but people are always having affairs.

6:26Jase:Yeah, that's right. But, I mean, no, I don't feel sorry for them. Not at all. So if you're going to go out there and do that and you're having an affair, then you're sort of what you get is what you get. He's come out and given a statement, this guy. Yeah, right. We'll probably come back to it in real loud, but my understanding is that he's blaming Coldplay. Oh, wow. You can blame Coldplay for a lot of things, but I don't know if you can blame them for that, yeah. Yeah. What do you think, New Zealand? 3483. Every text in the draw for a$50 re-burger voucher. In the meantime, here's the Undertones.

7:00The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

7:06Keyzie:Oh, yes, indeed. Audio slave there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time is 20 minutes past 4 o 'clock. We've got a few frown outs there, Keezy. That's right. Frown outs to the geezers, Mike, Callum, Hayden and Brad at Mike Litterus Construction in Canary. You don't want to get that wrong. Frown out of the f***er. Why? Why would I not want to get that wrong? I don't get it. Shout out to the Varsity Slugs taking on the Eden Lizards in the Auckland Under 85 semi tomorrow. Go the Slugs! Frown out!

7:42Yeah, so those are the frat outs, fellas. Anyway, we're talking about this bloke who was busted having an affair with, it turns out his head of HR at a company, he's the CEO.

7:51Jase:Look, it's often times, Casey, people work hard, and you know this, man. You fall in love with the people around you. You can't help it. Yeah. You can't help it.

7:59Keyzie:And am I right in saying it was a workplace kind of relationship? Yes, he was the CEO, she was head of HR. I just said that 10 seconds ago. That's why I said what I said. Oh, right, okay. I sort of zoned out there for a second. You sure did. Do you want me to read the frat outs again? No, that's all good. I think I got those. Yeah, yeah. And actually, Mogi, you made me aware of this. When it cut to them on the screen, I think Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, he actually said something on the mic there. Yeah. Oh, look at these two. All right. Come on. You're okay? Uh-oh, what? Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy.

8:38Jase:Ah, how right he was. Yeah, they're not shy. No. They're not shy. So what he does apparently at those Coldplay concerts is he goes around, they do that kissy cam sort of thing, and then Chris Martin will make up a song on the spot and sing to those people. Oh, that's cool. And it's pretty, he does it, you know, they do the same set at every show, the songs are the same order, everything's exactly the same. So it's the sort of thing you could anticipate might happen. If you knew, you know, you'd be a bit devastated that he didn't know that that happened. You would think, what are the chances? Yes.

9:06Jase:What are the chances of me being on camera? Yeah, pretty good. So we've heard sort of how, Jase, you used to manage having three or four mistresses at once. Still do. Still do. Mogi, what about you? What do you do when you're with your mistress? Well, it's tricky. You know, I think this guy's made a mistake by doing it, I'm assuming, locally. I'm assuming in his own city. Maybe they were on a work trip and maybe they thought they were okay. Oh, yeah, the old conference. But you're right, Jase, and you've got decades more experience of running a mistress than I do. And I got a lot of my tips from you.

9:37Jase:but certainly you don't want to be doing it in a public environment like that. Yes. So probably doing it while you're on a holiday, for example, overseas. For example, Vietnam, Jase. I'm going on holiday. Yeah, Keezy, perfect for you. Yeah, Europe. So that sort of thing would be great for you. Have you got any advice, fellas, for someone who's looking to maybe get a mistress for the first time? Because I've never done it before and I could be open to having a mistress.

10:06Keyzie:Come on, Keezy, whatever. The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy. Skid Row there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time is 4.33. Hey, guys. It's a sad day today.

10:21Jase:It is. Old Keezy's leaving the Big Show. Yeah, it is. Moving over to Europe. Yeah. For a few weeks. Yeah, I'm going on holiday. Yeah, yeah. Actually, a talkback has come in about this very thing. I might just play that.

10:33Keyzie:Sure, man. Yeah, get out, Kizzy, you mad dog, you sick son of a bee. Hey, just want to say thanks for the memories, mate. It's been a blast. Best of luck to you over in Europe, and just when you're ready,

10:47Jase:if you come back with your schnoz between your legs, just remember, we'll take you back, always. Love you, babes. Yeah, sweet. I didn't pre-listen to that. I didn't realise that he also thinks I'm leaving. I'm not leaving the big show, Mike, and I think it's very important. It's a show last day. Flying out tonight.

11:02Keyzie:Yeah, yeah. Yeah, but nice. Gone burger. He's like, it's not totally accurate, is it, Keezy? Because we won't necessarily take you back. Totally, yeah. I mean, you leave us. And we're pretty hurt, Mogi. No, we're hurting. We're hurting inside because we're a team, man. No, I know we're a team. I'm going on a holiday and then I'm back in a few weeks' time.

11:23Jase:Just while you're still here, while I've still got you, Keezy. Yeah, what's up, man? I'm actually just going on a holiday next week to Europe. Just a holiday for me. Oh, wow, Mogi's not leaving us. What? But I'll be back in two weeks. So I was just wondering if I could get some tips off you for preparation because I've never been to Europe before. Unbelievable. 48 years old, never been to Europe. Disgraceful. So I could do with some tips around travel, prep, little tips and tricks that you've got because I know you've travelled a lot. Yeah, okay. So what I did, the first thing I did was...

11:52Keyzie:Sorry, an absolute weapon just walked past the studio there. Holy shit. What's going on there?

11:57Jase:He looked like a scrotum with a moustache. It was quite confronting. Anyway, you were a prep. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, sorry, that was, yeah. So the first thing I did was today, Mike. Mike, over here. I charged my, overnight I charged up my body groomer. Oh, yes. That's fully charged this morning. Hopped in the shower there. What is a, oh, yeah. Full groom everywhere. So, like, my chest is looking really slick. What number? I did not right down close to the skin. Yes. I did about, I think it was six mil. Yeah, probably a four. Oh, even a six. That's a six. So you've got a little bit of fur there because I'm not like I'm a furry guy.

12:39Jase:Fur. But I don't want it to be like intrusive. So I've got a full groom all over because I'm wearing Speedos. You might want to do this. Although you've lasered, haven't you? Yeah, he's done the laser. I'm pretty good on that front. And I have no body here at all. Cool.

12:52Keyzie:I stupidly went number one with my one. That was a disaster. Yeah, right. Another thing you might want to do is think about the journey. Yes. It's 20, I think 27 hours all up I'm travelling. Okay. So you want to download some cool stuff onto your laptop. Like I downloaded a train game, which is a game about trains. Yeah. Where you get presented with little puzzles and it's like, oh, can you build the right train?

13:19Jase:I'd do this on the plane, will I? Yeah, on your laptop. Trains on the plane. Yeah. It's like, can you build the right train too? We can move on to the next one. I'm probably just going to get pissed. Oh, yeah. Anything else? What else? Oh, aqua shoes. Yeah. Have you got aqua shoes? Your massive shoes. No, no. Those huge sneakers that you're wearing around. No, no, no. The floaters. Boat shoes. No.

13:40Keyzie:Yeah, your skis. Yeah, I've got some sneakers that are quite large. But no, aqua shoes. No. Because the beaches over there are kind of like rocks and not sand. Right. And so my wife was like, oh, you've got sensitive feet, so you might want to get some. Of course you do, Keezy. So you might want to get some aqua shoes. Okay. Are you going to go in the water? Yeah. What about your water? I don't know about that. You get swimmer's air. You get swimmer's air, remember? Okay, I'm not even lying. I'm not lying right now. Bought a fresh bottle of swimmer's air stuff. Thank God. Yeah, at the weekend.

14:14Yeah, good. So we're good to go for that plus Speedos and aqua shoes.

14:17Jase:Yeah, okay. Well, I'm with you there. Then you've done something with your lid. Oh, I got a haircut. I got my Euro haircut. Yeah. Yeah, I just went and got it now. And I said to the guy, I'm going to Europe. Yeah. So give me something that'll make the people over there think, you know, ooh la la. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

14:32Keyzie:You won't need any help with mistresses over there, Keezy. I'll tell you that much, mate. Did he do your moustache as well? Because he looks like he's trimmed your mou. I trimmed my moustache. You did it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So you just want to be fully groomed. Yes. Aqua shoes. Aqua shoes. And entertainment for the plane, that sort of way.

14:47Jase:And a train game. And a train game. Sweet. Well, that's a short list. Easy, man.

14:50Keyzie:Can I, and what I did too, Moggy, was make sure that I knew where all the smoking lounges were in the airports. Oh, yeah. I did a precursor there. Right. You know, and where all the bars were. I think I'll just wait till I'm on the plane.

Read the full transcript

15:05Jase:Oh, yeah. Yeah. Sweet. You can't smoke on a plane. No, no, no. You can't smoke on a plane. Well, you've got asthma and stuff, Keezy. No, but I can't smoke on a plane because it's illegal, not because I've got asthma.

15:16Keyzie:Fair. Mind you, having said that, you've been punching the shit out of the darts lately, haven't you? Yeah, and prep for Europe, man. Here's Metallica. The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Kesey. In excess there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time is 4.48, which means it's time for What's on the TV. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue.

15:47Keyzie:Yes!

15:54Jase:That's how you do it, Keezy, in case you were wondering, man. Good stuff, fellas. Hey, last night I went and saw Nikki Glaser. She's a comedian. That's how you say that, Keezy, in case you were wondering. Yeah. And she hosted the Golden Globes recently. She's renowned as a sort of the comedy roast. She's really good at that sort of stuff. Yada, yada, yada. American, right? American. Very American. Very American. And I've sort of started watching a couple of her specials, and if it's not the best thing I've ever seen in my life, within about four seconds, I turn it off. I'm the same. I'm a shocker for it.

16:29Jase:That's just what I do. Anyway, I went to this. She was brilliant. Funny, says the most horrendous things, while being insightful. Very, very, very funny. Highly recommend. I'm going to go back and watch all the Netflix specials now. She's so funny. But Kura Forrester, New Zealand's own Kura Forrester, opened for her, and she absolutely levelled. 10 minutes she did or she went over she said she did 11 minutes but she talked about watching Saltburn with her mother that was good content and then she talked about being on Tinder and she just the only guys that she seems to meet are guys that live in the little house outside the back of the main house so there was 10 or 11 and she was unbelievable man absolutely destroyed Nikki Glaser travels with her own opener who also does some writing for her this guy came out and did 20 minutes and he really struggled because Kura did so well so kudos to her if you get a chance to see her anywhere go and see Kura Forrester if you get a chance to watch the singles club Brennan Kuh singles club on YouTube absolutely brilliant she is amazing and if you haven't seen her before please do because she's out of the gate she's one of those people that just like has a direct line to my funny bone for some reason I don't know why certain people have that and she's certainly got it as well like me Akeasy Yeah, Jase, man.

17:50Totally, man. How many buzzies out of five? I'd go four and a half. Wow. Okay, yeah, nice. Nice, liking it, liking it. Last night, my wife and I started watching... Excuse me? Are you going to go or just be a baby about it?

18:05Keyzie:Well, actually, I was out with my mistress last night, so no. What did you watch, Keezy? Last night, my wife and I started watching a new show. We wanted a murder mystery, but not too gory, because my wife will freak out. So we started watching Don't shake your head We started watching on Netflix It's called Bodkin It's about this US podcaster guy Which I thought was relatable Because I do a podcast

18:29Jase:You do a podcast man You do a couple I do a couple He goes over to Ireland To solve this old mystery And it's wacky Irish people And it's like this big mystery And I have a feeling There's going to be a lot more Than makes the guy Yeah that's the thing Is he a fish out of water man? I think he is a fish out of water man And it's Will Forte aka MacGruber Saturday Night Live Legion. Saturday Night Live, yeah. So, first episode, cool enough of a mystery going on that I'm intrigued. Yes. My wife enjoyed it because it wasn't too full on. Yeah. One episode down, yeah. I think we'll watch the whole thing.

18:59I watched one episode

19:00Jase:and then I don't think I watched it anymore. Not for any reason, I just sort of forgot about it. Yeah, how many buzzies? And I can see how that would happen. I didn't see any.

19:08Keyzie:Because I've watched that. But three out of five at this stage. Three out of five buzzies? Yes. My wife and I watch about four or five of those episodes. I'll give it two and a half buzzies, Gizzi. Cool. Because I'm into that other comedy at the moment that you told me about. Middle class bogan. Upper middle class bogan on the ladder there. With our own Robin Malcolm. That's good, man. Some Australian comedians. It's bloody good stuff. Two and a half buzzies out of five, you reckon? Yeah. Yeah. It's good. Here's Aerosmith. The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy. Aero Smith there on the radio.

19:48Keyzie:Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time is five minutes to five o 'clock. And, of course, a Friday thrupper coming up. And a bit of a sad one this time, fellas. A bit of a sad theme. That's right.

19:59Jase:Yes, it is a little bit sad. DJ Moo, also known as DJ Fitchy, from Fat Freddy's Drop, passed away, I think, the night before last, is my understanding, then in his sleep. An absolute legend of the dub and reggae scenes down in Wellington, an absolute stalwart of that scene. Wellington in particular will be very, very hard hit by this because it's not just, not only is he the backbone of that band, but a part of that community for so many years. Yeah, it is. It's really, really sad and, yeah, gone too soon, I think, only very early 50s. Yeah, yeah. Very early 50s. Because Fat Freddy's Drop, and I know Mania Stewart, he does The Breakfast Show, we've bonded over the fact that Fat Freddy's is our, my all-time favourite band is Rolling Stones, but the band I listen to the most is Fat Freddy's Drop.

20:47Yeah. We've interviewed a few of the boys on numerous occasions. I think we're interviewing Ho Pepper, who is, I believe, the saxophonist. Mm-hmm. And he just, I remember him saying that Moo was the genius behind everything they do, and that without him, the band wouldn't work, basically. So huge loss. Tragedy. It is a tragedy.

21:07Jase:And to put it into perspective, I mean, honestly, I put this on the same sort of, this is like losing a Tim Finn or a, you know, for me, it really is a Tim Finn or a Dave Dobbin or any of those guys, you know, from 99 and being back in Wellington and all the music that came out through there. Those guys were absolute legends, not just with the music that was all around Wellington at that time, but the way they independently released based on a true story. So it went multi, multi, multi platinum, did things their own way, changed the game really for New Zealand musicians and what was possible financially as well as artistically.

21:45Jase:A huge loss, an inspiration to so many for so long. And yeah, it's bloody gutting. Yeah, so we'll be doing a Fat Freddy's Drop special edition of the cover. Yeah. How good. So make sure you stay tuned for that. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

22:08Keyzie:It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday throbber. Jase, Jase. Yes, indeed, in the Fat Freddy's special today, fellas. That's right. Tribute. A tribute. To Moo, the genius behind Fat Freddy's drop, who sadly passed away earlier this week. Fat Freddy's Drop, one of my all-time, all-time favourite bands. So devastating stuff for me. So we've all chosen a Fat Freddy's Drop tune. So regardless of which one wins, we all win. It's a win for everyone. That's how I feel about it, fellas. And it's nice too because it gets a bit toey with the old thromber sometimes. And we're all on the same page with this one.

22:44Jase:Well, it'll be hard to beat last week's, which was Sucking on a Chilli Dog. That's right. Mogey did a classic Mogey and played a comedy song. Yeah. But to be honest, I am... Sucking on a chilli dog. I'm lagging on the scoreboard, and I'm about to go on holiday as well.

22:59Keyzie:You're about to leave us, eh, Keezy? Yeah, man, I'm about to leave. How's that beer-zie there, by the way? Delicious. Yeah. Because Jase is giving me a lift home tonight. Oh, that's right, and he can't wait. So I thought I'd have a beer. He's not making you feel bad about it. He hasn't threatened to not take me home a few times. No, I haven't done that at all. Yeah. Right, so the throwaway, how it works, is you call us on 0800HORAKI to vote for which song you want to hear played in full. First one to get two votes wins. Do you want to go first, Jase? Sure. Razor.

23:46Interesting choice, Jase. Thanks. That's a deep cut, man. That is a deep cut, man. I've gone for one of their first album that I overheard, which is based on a true story, Roadie.

23:54Keyzie:It feels so good When I know you're skanking with me So good when I know you're skanking So good when you do Yes, it feels so good So good

24:07Jase:That gets to cranking at the end as well, that one. It does. Cranking. And I've gone with this one, Swings and Arrows, because it's annoying to Keezy. Because I chose it first and he stole it.

24:27That's their best song when it's live They quite often open with that song And it rules man It's so good Anyway 0800 Hauraki Yeah man In the meantime Another bit of Kiwi for you Here she has The Hauraki Big Show With Jason Hoyt Mike Minogue And Keezy

24:48Keyzie:It's the Hauraki Big Show Doose Friday Throbber. Doose, doose. Indeed, Fat Freddy's tribute today. I just read Bailey from, it's Gizzy is one of the callers there, and I just immediately read that as Jizzy. Oh, right, yes. Because that's just where I go now. You know what I'm saying, fellas? But it's Gizzy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you just joined us, by the way, Fat Freddy's drop. One of the geniuses behind the band, Chris Faumu, unfortunately passed away earlier this week. So that's why we're dedicating this one to Fat Freddy's. Yeah, yeah. And Chris's memory as well. Jase, which song did you choose?

25:24Razor.

25:36What'd you go for? Oh, whoa. Muggie's had enough of that. I went for Roadie. Oh, yes. I feel so good when I know you're skanking with me.

25:49Keyzie:So good when I annoy you, Skankin'. So good when you do, yes it feels so good.

25:56Jase:Tune that. Tune, man. What'd you go for, mate? I went with this one here, man. Doosh, doosh, doosh. Dinga, dinga, doo, doosh. And then it just drops huge, man. If you've got headphones, put them on. Crank it.

26:14Slings and arrows there, Fat Freddy's.

26:16Keyzie:Well, let's let the people decide. Fellas, go to the phone. Hello, who am I speaking to? Are you there, caller? Oh, g'day, you mad masters. It's Jordan from Christchurch here. How are you? How are you going, Jordan? How are you going, mate? Are you going all right there? I'm doing very well, thank you. Good on you, mate. What are you running with there? Look, Jase, that song of yours cuts deep, mate. I'm going to have to vote for you. Good on you, mate. Good on you, mate. That's hot. Let's go to Hayden from Christchurch, if I'm not mistaken. G'day, Hayden, you mad bastard. How's life? I'm good, Jim.

26:52I'm a bit tired, actually. Oh, no.

26:55Keyzie:That's no good. Lucky it's a weekend then, Hayden. Yeah, I've been babysitting my eight-day old.

27:01Jase:Fishing for a congratulations, man. Congratulations, man. What are you running with there, Hayden? What are you calling the baby, man? Moogie. Yeah, good on you, mate. Cheers, brother. That's a girl too, isn't it?

27:14Keyzie:Yeah. Good on you. What are you running with there, Hayden? I'm going with Roadie. Oh, good on you, Hayden. Good stuff. Good stuff. G'day, Bailey, from Gizzy. How's life? Yeah, mate. How's it going? Yeah, grouse man, grouse. Yeah, good. Thanks, man.

27:32Jase:What do you reckon, man? Oh, I was going to go for old Giz boy, but since he called Gizzy Gizzy, I'm going to have to go with Gizzy.

27:41Keyzie:There you go. Sorry about him calling Gisbon, Jisbon, man. That sucks. Have a good evening, brother. It's just how it was written on the bloody thing here, fellas. It just looked like Jizzy. That's all I'm saying, man. There's nothing wrong with the word Jizz. That was shocking from you, man. Yeah. Well, enjoy Roadie from Fat Freddy's Drop. This one goes out to Chris Faumu, RIP, one of my all-time favourite bands. Turn it up, New Zealand. Turn it up. The Hauraki Big Show. with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue, and Keezy. Roadie there, Fat Freddy's droppers, your Friday throbber, fellas. Bloody good. That's a win for Keezy.

28:18Much needed too, fellas. If we look at the scoreboard here for the Friday throbber, way out in front, Jase, you are on eight wins this year with an asterisk. That was for coercing a listener, that asterisk, by the way. Mogi, you are second with seven victories, and I am third still on six wins with two asterisks. Man. Yeah, yeah.

28:39Keyzie:I shot myself in the bull horse on that one, didn't I? Why's that? Well, because he was in a vote for me, but because I said jizzy, he went, oh, I'm going to change my vote to kesey. Well, that's what happens when you offend people, Jason. It's about time you learnt this. Yeah, I suppose so. Being offensive doesn't always pay off. It was like a lash across my back, fellas. Yeah. It was. And it's going to be me and Pugs doing that. Oh, no, you're here next week. Thank God, Mogey. I don't think I am. Oh.

29:06Jase:I don't think I am, but I don't know. Are you leaving the big show too, are you? I'm leaving it, but unlike Keezy, I'm coming back. But yeah, see how we go. I'm also coming back as well. Are you? Well, actually, when it is, because Jase, you and Pugs will be covering for a couple of weeks there, two people can't really do the throbber, so do we just get rid of it? Yeah, that's true, actually. You can't have mano a mano. So I just think we get rid of it.

29:27Keyzie:Oh, no, that's all good. We've already organised that. We've got Big Dilly to contribute as well. Oh, sweet. Yeah, so there's three of us. Okay, cool, man. Right, so Dilly from the office is going to come in. So it's going to be double-double yummy boys. It just doesn't feel like it's a big show, Throbber. And some hard rock for Moody J.

29:42Jase:That could be a separate count on the side. That would be a separate thing because the Throbber needs the three of us or maybe Pugs tagging in for one of us. But me and Mogey are the heart and soul of the Throbber. You know what I mean?

29:52Keyzie:Sorry, who is winning? You are. Oh, you're winning at the moment.

29:56Jase:I mean, we've done it for this is our fifth year, isn't it? Bloody hell. I won three years in a row, of course, and then Keezy took it out last year. Yeah, yeah. It's my year, boys. It's my year.

30:06Keyzie:I'm the waz of the throbber.

30:09Jase:Is that? Oh, that's not good. That's a joke. That's not good. Thanks so much for that. The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Kesey.

30:19Keyzie:Alison Chains there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening. The time is 5.27. Let's have a Would You Rather, shall we? I don't know.

30:32Jase:You've got me there. The Big Show.

30:35Keyzie:Would you rather? Yeah!

30:37Jase:Yeah! Woo! Haggards of would you rather. Everybody knows how these work, and if you don't, you work it out as we go. This one, this week, is in light of old Keezy's going on a summer holiday, aren't you, mate? Yeah, I'm going on a holiday for three weeks to Europe to visit my brother-in-law. Yeah, good, man. Yeah, I can't wait, man. So this one is, would you rather be run over by a steamroller when you're lying down on the ground from toes first? and it's going real slow. Oh, jeez. Three or four K an hour. Not even that. Not just like one. Not even that. It'll take a minute to complete the job.

31:12Jase:Wow. Or go on a summer holiday with your wife. Slash partner. Or go on a summer holiday with your wife to Europe. Right. Well, I mean, I'm kind of doing that. I know, but we can't organise a steamroller, so you've got no choice. Yeah. This has given you an option. So hypothetically speaking. Yeah.

31:36Keyzie:Has the steamroller got like the light or heavy roller or the medium roller? What do you mean? Is it the full roller? Because steamrollers actually, you can vary the roll.

31:46Jase:Yeah. The roller. All of them are heavy enough to crush your bones into dust. Sorry. Did you think that if a steamroller had the medium roller on, it wouldn't flatten you?

31:57Keyzie:Oh, it would change it for me for sure. Right. Well, can I just, I feel like I should jump in here first. Yeah, okay. I'll lock in pretty confidently going on holiday with my wife, if that's all G. Can I just clarify here? So this holiday with my wife, where am I going? Did you say Europe? Just Europe. Europe, okay. And what's the season over there at the moment? Summer. It's a summer holiday in Europe. Hang on a second. I don't handle the heat very well. Yeah.

32:28Jase:And it's the flight. It takes about 30-odd hours to get there. You see? And economy.

32:36Keyzie:Is there a transition in the flight? Do I have a stopover?

32:42Jase:Yeah, there's no direct flights, no.

32:43Keyzie:So where's the stopover?

32:46Jase:Where do you want it to be?

32:48Keyzie:Say, China?

32:49Jase:Yeah. Okay. I feel like it shouldn't be. What about you, Moggy? I mean, what would you? It's easy for me. I'm a steamroller.

32:58Keyzie:Yeah, I mean, just in terms of the steamroller, What surface are we on? Hot tarmac.

33:04Jase:Hot tarmac, okay. And it's got, it's tarmac, but there's little bits of gravel underneath you as well.

33:09Keyzie:Oh, so there's like separate little rock paths, you know, on your back and stuff like that. Yeah. And it goes over your head? Eventually. Okay. That's the last thing. It'd probably struggle to go over Jace's.

33:21Jase:And it's summer, you say? It's summer, yeah. Okay. So there'll be swimming and stuff. Can I be driving the steamroller? When you get run over by it? No, because I've chosen holiday. Oh, you want to run over Jase. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm driving the steamroller Jase.

33:39Keyzie:Okay, well, that makes me feel better about it, actually, because you're a good driver, Keezy. Thanks. And I know he's not going to veer off. You know what I'm saying, Moggy? Yeah. Because I wouldn't want the guy that's steamrolling me to suddenly just swerve off and only half of me gets crushed. Oh, no, you want the whole lot. Okay. What's sort of putting you off about Europe? Summer. Yeah. You know, and having to change flights. Yeah. Do I have to go through customs again? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Oh, you see, no, steamroller for me. The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Kesey. Foo Fighters there on the radio.

34:12Keyzie:Hauraki Big Show this Friday afternoon. The time is 20 minutes to 6 o 'clock. Let's talk sport. Foo! Foo! Foo! Sport! Sport! Sport! Sport! So the AB's third test match in Hamilton, I believe. Ten changes for the AB's. Actually, 11 now. Rico Ioani out as well. Will Jordan coming in for him. I get the sort of mentality behind big changes and trying to grow your squad. You recall, fellas, or maybe you don't, when John Mitchell was the all-black coach and the English came over here and they deduced us and the English went on to win the World Cup that year And the secret to their success was they basically kept the same 15 playing all the time.

35:05Keyzie:And they became a formidable unit. Rugby-hardened bastards. And they do it in cricket as well. The constant changing out of players and so forth. I like to keep a hardcore playing every week. If there's injuries, of course, replace them. That way you become a machine.

35:25Jase:But I think he's finding his 15. He's still finding his best players. Yeah. Because he's only been in the, this is the start of his second season. Yeah. So he's still very much finding that a lot of players have left. You've got, you've lost Aaron Smith. That's the only one I can think of. Roygaard. Roygaard. There were certainly a bunch of players that left. So, yeah, but I take your point. However, with that England side, that was Dad's Army they were referred to. That squad have been together for many, many years. And that was their last hurrah. So, yeah, I mean, I absolutely take your point.

35:59Jase:It annoys me as well. It cheapens the jersey as well. It does. But we're in a professional era now where the only thing people care about, the only thing people care about, is winning the World Cup. So we'll moan for three years while this stuff goes on. But if we win the World Cup, it'll be no moan. Genius. It'll be sweet as.

36:15Keyzie:Now, Keezy, you know, you're smoky boy. No, you're right. Yeah, what's up? I was going to say, how are you going to watch the WARS when you're over in Europe there? Well, that's the thing. So I think it's about 11 hours difference. The Waz play 6 p.m. Sunday evening New Zealand time against the Knights. We should beat them. Oh, yeah. I think that's about 6 or 7 a.m. in London over there. That's not bad. So I could wake up and do that. Or I'll probably be up at like 5 a.m. due to weird body clock stuff and we'll probably go for a walk around, I don't know, one of the most historic cities on the planet, you know.

36:46Keyzie:Or you don't land the plane and you stay up till 6 o 'clock. Right, it's just me and my wife in London. Like, I'm not going on some piss trip. I don't know what kind of trip you think it is.

36:57Jase:It's funny because me and my wife are going to be in Spain and it's absolutely a piss trip. Absolutely. Responsibly, though, right? Nah. Nah, but, like, responsibly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Totally. But what do you think about the Waz there, Keezy? Is it a 6pm game on Sunday? It is 6pm Sunday. I think the Waz, I think we touched on this earlier in the week, Moggy, but basically the next four, five, six games, if we don't come away having won at least four of them, I want them to have won all six of them, but I'll forgive them for losing to the Doggies, for example. But if we are serious this year about going deep into the postseason, we need to win every single one of these games because they're easy teams, theoretically.

37:36And so I want to see us maintain a high standard of play even against a lower opposition because the Waz of old have been guilty of dropping their effort levels depending on who they're playing.

37:46Jase:Yeah, I think it's a completely different side. I don't think Webster will be allowing that. I don't think the team will want to do it, but I completely agree with you. There's talk about them dropping out of the fort, and I just don't see how it's going to happen outside of another barrage of injuries taking out key players. But you're right, we play the Titans twice. We've got, who have we got this week? The Knights. They're terrible. The only ones that I'm really worried about in these final games are the Dolphins because they can turn it on, and the Dogs are above us. So I'd love to see us tip the Dogs up.

38:16Jase:This week, Lockie Galvin has been, And he is starting at halfback for the first time. He came over from the West Tigers. I think it could be the beginning of the end for them. Yeah, I think they're a bit of a mirage, actually. Yeah, they're a bit of a shocker.

38:28Keyzie:With you going away at the end of next week, Mogey, I'm just bloody relieved I've got Pugsarm when we have our chat with old Charlie Gubb. Oh, yes. You know what I mean? That's going to be interesting. Oh, wow. Big League Pugsarm will pull us through that. You can just let him and Gubb go head-to-head there. Well, that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to leave it to those two legends. Just a couple of leagueies. Those massive backbones. The gym, man. We're going to be sinking piss there in the studio, B. Responsibly, though, eh, pugs? Yeah, responsibly. You're sinking piss over there. What's going on?

38:59Keyzie:Here's the cars. Don't knock on us. The Hodaki Big Show podcast. Radio head there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this Friday evening. Hey, fellas, Wrexham AFC, which is famous for being bought by, was it Rob Michelinie or Michelinie? I can't remember his last name from Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Also Ryan Reynolds. They have a TV show on Disney, massively successful, and they are this weekend, tomorrow night, taking on the Wellington Phoenix at Sky Stadium down there. So it's bloody exciting. They're going to be down there, hopefully. I hope those two top dogs will be down there in Wellington.

39:34Jase:I don't know. I don't know. I would be surprised. Wouldn't they make this as part of their team? Nah, probably not. You wouldn't do it. You own the team. You put the money in. You turn up for the TV show. I don't think you're going around fighting some battlers from Wellington and New Zealand, although Ryan Reynolds obviously good mates with Taika Waititi having starred together in the film The Green Lantern. Still, I mean, why? Iconic. Iconic, one of the greats.

39:58Keyzie:Why wouldn't you want to be down in Wellington, though, in the middle of winter? It's a fair point. You know? Yeah, you're right. I'd be into that.

40:06Jase:There's nothing like trying to kick the ball upfield and it ends up going back over your head. Yeah, exactly. Nevertheless, they are taking on the Phoenix. This is a team, by the way, that has qualified to be in the Championship League up in the UK there. It's a huge night of football. There are general tickets still available from Ticketek. So if you're keen to go along to see Wrexham AFC take on our Wellington Phoenix, give it a Google and I'll see you there. Jase, after six. Yes. Can I ask a favour of you, man?

40:33Keyzie:I suppose so, Keezy. The Hauraki Beat Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Welcome back, you backbones. Hope your Friday's going off. You're listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburger. Beef, chicken, vegan, and vegetarian options available at Reburger. Redefining the norm. Reburger. Sauce chickens. Yes. Oh. So Jase tried to guess which one I was going to play. He got it wrong, which means you now owe me 50 bucks. That's how it works, right? Yeah. Yeah. Have you got time when I make my decision to do a switcheroo on what you're about to play? No, no, no.

41:15So genuinely, and so for the audience listening, they try to guess which Sting I'm going to play, which are the Reburger ones. Genuinely, I have my mouse hovering over it. You say one, I instantly hit it. I'd have to be very, very quick. And I wouldn't mess with you like that, Jase. Yeah, man. It takes all the fun out of it. I want you to win, man. You know, I want what's best for you.

41:33Keyzie:Whatever, man. You're already a winner in my eyes, man. Yeah, thanks, fellas. I was just buttoned, all right? I'm over today. Speaking of Reburger, I think I'll get some on the way home tonight. Oh, wow, really? Yeah, yeah, I think so. Which, okay. Because my wife, she's thinking Uber, Uber Eats. Oh, yeah. But I just don't know if I can wait that long. I think I'll grab it on the way home. That way I can eat the chips, all the chips, because they make amazing chips, on my way home and bring the rest to her and I'll be sated.

42:08Jase:That's the one.

42:08Keyzie:And she can't get her dirty mitts on any of the chips. Does she wear mitts? She does, yeah. Like mittens? Yeah, mittens. Are they really dirty? She's got really weird sort of gnarly knuckles. Oh, wow. And I don't like to see them, so she puts mitts on. That's crazy. Oh, man. Well, I've not told you fellas that, haven't I? No. Does she ever wash them or are they just dirty mitts? No, they're just filthy all the time. The Hauraki Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy. Cool jam there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening. Hey, fellas, I need to ask a favour of you if that's all G.

42:49Sure, man. Actually, not so much you, Mogie. Okay, I'll see you later. No, no, stay. Stay here, man. Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You sure? Well, how about I'll ask Jase. Yeah. Because it's most convenient for him to do it. Okay. And then if he says no, I'll get you to do it. Well, you'll ask. Yeah, I'll ask you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, Jase, how are you, man? You a G? Good, thanks, Keezy. Yeah, what have you been up to today, man? I don't want to talk about it. Okay, so you've had a bad day. Just so you know, how can you, like, I just can't comprehend how you could have such a bad day. Like, what was good?

43:20Keyzie:I don't want to talk about it, man. Actually, this isn't even what I want to. Hey, you know how you live out west? Yes. And so do I. Yes. You couldn't give me a lift home tonight, could you? You couldn't go by the old Casa Del Kese there and drop me off Why's that? Where's your car? My truck, you know my truckie? Yes What happened to it? I drove it to work today, had a wee bit of an issue with it So it's just going to stay in the underground lock up While I'm away in Europe there So you wouldn't mind giving me a lift home, would you man? That shirt's great by the way It's not a shirt Is that metallic green?

44:00Jase:Can I ask before you make your decision, Hoidi Janus, how far out of your way is it to go around to Casa del Kese? A little bit. Yeah, yeah, sure. Can we put it into minutes?

44:13Keyzie:It's more once I've left Casa del Kese, she's a bitch in terms of traffic from his place to my place.

44:21Jase:Sure, give us some timings here. 50 minutes? Sorry, 50 extra minutes. Yes. That can't be true. Really?

44:31Keyzie:Totally, man. There's a lot of intersections. There's a lot of lights. And it's at peak hour. Oh, it's not quite peak hour after seven. But you'd be amazed around that area. Yeah. Because I don't know if you've ever been out to Te Atatū. It is a shithole. And they haven't, you know, done a road. It's just a shambles out that way. Sure, sure, sure. It's not your refined west like Glen Eden. Do you know how you know it's a shithole? Yeah. I put my wallet in my glove box in my car, left it unlocked, and no one stole it. Yeah. Hey, Keezy, do you want a lift or not, man? Oh, yeah, sorry, man, sorry.

45:08If you wouldn't mind, Hoody J, if you've got nothing on.

45:11Keyzie:I'll tell you what we'll do. That's no problem at all, Keezy. I can do that for you as you go off on your three-week holiday to Europe in the middle of summer. You all G with me pounding the Deftones all the way home? I'm never really all G with you pounding anything to be honest man but yeah sure absolutely Okay a bit of deft tones with me and Keezy in the car. Can I just ask you don't Pounding away you and Keezy in the car there Is it all G if I vape? Well well excuse me

45:40Jase:It's your car Yeah yeah yeah cool Why am I asking the question?

45:45Keyzie:I'll be pounding the vape as well Keezy It's not going to trigger up, trigger your asthma, is it? It might trigger up me asthma. No, sure, man. You can vape. Actually, I'll just check the price of an Uber. 50 bucks. No, yeah, you can vape, man. Yeah, yeah. No dramas, man. What flavour is it? Tabacchi. The Hauraki Big Show Podcast. That has fired me up from a Friday night, a bit of Tom Petty. Don't do me like that. Yeah, don't do me like that. What's your favourite Tom Petty song, Jase? I think that one. Born of the Wild Ah, so good Hey, if you want to win a sweet trip down to the West Coast Thanks to Montice and the West Coast Pie Company Text the word WILD to 3483 Get yourself in the drawer, you and a mate $5 ,000 cash, bloody good times Yeah I've been thinking more about getting my own knife made Oh yes Because like you, Moggy Forging my own knife I was a bit freaked out about it initially Yeah, which is something you can do down there on the West Coast Which is one of the things you can do with your prize It's$5 ,000 worth, by the way.

46:52Keyzie:The more I've thought about it, the more I like it. Right. I could maybe hang it above my mantelpiece or something like that. You know what I mean?

46:59Jase:Yeah, well, they do have the better than that, man, better than that, because, of course, they've got the wild goat pie. Yes. Wild nanny goat. Yeah, and eventually you end up at this bar there, don't you, the Monteith Bar? Monteith Brewery. So you bring it all together. You've got your Monteith Brewery. As soon as you arrive at the brewery there, they bring out your nanny goat that's going to be turned into the pie. Oh, the West Coast pie nanny goat. Yeah, that's right. You can take your forged knife and you can do the honours. And so you can end up eating the pie and you can take home, you know, the trophy and put that on the wall at home.

47:35Is it really a good trophy though if they've just sort of brought in a goat on a lead and then you've sort of just – Oh, you know. Is it a trophy?

47:41Jase:The thing about Liz Kesey, and you won't know this, When you get the head of a wild animal up on a wall and it's sort of stuck on sort of a wooden shield. Oh, yeah, yeah. Nobody really asks you about the fight. They're just impressed by the fact that you've got a head of an animal on the wall. It's an odd sight, but people are into it.

48:00Keyzie:Yeah, totally. And can I just say, with all the heads on my wall, they're all roadkill. Oh, really? Yeah, yeah. So I didn't kill any of them. I mean, I claim to have.

48:09Jase:Yeah, you've got some bloody beauties. Yeah, yeah. old bloody hoity jizz over here, he drove his car through the gates of the Auckland Zoo. Oh, really? He's ended up with all sorts on his wall.

48:19Keyzie:All sorts. Wow. Well, people probably don't know this, but I like a bit of taxidermy. Oh, really? Yeah, it's like your hoity jay equivalent of your tutu-ing with a car there, Kesey. Oh, being a car enthusiast. Yeah, I'm being the taxidermy.

48:37Jase:You know how you tutu with a car? Hoity jizz is always fiddling with animals. Yeah, out of my shed. Hey, so yeah, thanks to Mon Teeths, text the word WILD to 3483 and get yourself in the drawer. Oh, that's right. It's great, eh? This will be here in Pie July, by the way. Good stuff.

48:54Keyzie:Oh, you're going to miss next week's pie. Oh, no. The Hauraki Big Show podcast. You two there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Friday night. Awkward. Well, no, I'm just trying to... Tears are fine, man. No, I'm trying to just say... Here you go, man. Here's a tissue.

49:24Jase:Dry your eyes, brother. Oh, no, don't do it. What's that in there? It's a bit of rice, a bit of chicken. Swipe that off because those tears are streaming down your face.

49:32Keyzie:Not really. There's a bit of my Nicorette gum in there too. It's a bit sticky. What, in the same tissue? Yeah, yeah.
