In short

The Hauraki Big Show (Tuesday 10 March 2026) focuses on “little white lies” in relationships, plus sports, TV, parenting, travel plans, and light news segments. Guests/regulars: Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue, Keezy Mogi, Pugsan (Pug-san), and Hoity J (absent, “under the weather”). Guest Charlie Garbaugh is a league expert and former NRL warrior/legend, and he discusses Warriors vs Roosters (Waz performance: 42-18) and upcoming Raiders game; he also names Tanner Boyd as Portaking player of the day.

Key claims

one host “lied” about cleaning a mattress after spilling coffee, but the stain vanished; another keeps a “facade” early in dating (e.g., claiming he’s only “chill” about PS5 gaming).

Notable examples

Alan Partridge’s new mental-health mockumentary (How Are You?), The Sopranos episode featuring a Robert Patrick T-1000-range performance, and a parenting debate about sending a kid to school on day five of illness.

0:01The Hauraki Big Show with Toledos. Rehydrate the right way with real ingredients and natural colours. Welcome, this is Big, to the Hauraki Big Show, really big, with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keyzie.

0:18Mogey:G'day you massive backbones, it is Tuesday the 10th of March 2026 and you're listening to The Big Show, minus Hoody J who is still under the weather. You've still got Keezy, Mogi and Pugsan, and of course, The Big Show, brought to you by Toledo's. Why pause your thirst? Defeat it with Toledo's. Douche, douche, douche. You like that, man? Ding, ding, ding, ding. Here we go. Something's cooking here, fellas. I think we've stumbled onto something. Yeah, I think we're all over it. How you going today, Mogi? Actually, actually, actually, I'm absolutely routed today. I don't know, my brain just feels really fried On a couple of occasions I felt like I'm having a stroke I remember something that I meant to do And then go to do it and then immediately forget what it is Right, cool So yeah, massive brain fry So look, it could happen on air Yeah You never know your luck It wasn't putting on pants, was it?

1:11Mogey:Because you are just in your undies right now Oh, that could have been it Damn it But that's all good though We like a comfortable environment here in the big show Speaking of, old Pugsan, how are you today, man? Speaking of comfortable, man, I'm so good. Pleasure to be here with you fellas as always. Big Tuesday. Big Tuesday, man. A lot coming up on the show, man. A lot coming up on the show. Heaps going on, so make sure you do stay tuned. What is coming up on the show there, Moggy?

1:39What's happening on the big show with old Moggy? The audience will be interested to know we rehearsed that opening for three hours and absolutely paid off. Today we're going to be talking to old Pugsun. Mate, you've got a holiday coming up in a couple of weeks. It's turned up a hell of a lot sooner than I thought it would have. Yeah. Well, than I thought it was going to, I should say. But we just want to have a little chat to you about what your duties will be here at the big show while you're away. Charlie Gubb, Mad Dog, former warrior. We'll be having a chat to him about the Warriors, how they went over the weekend and what's coming up this weekend.

2:11And also the state of the poos in the ocean down there in Wellington. Of course, he runs Porter King, the greatest portaloo company in the world. And also next up, fellas, I lied to my wife and it felt good. Really? It's really only a white lie. Right. But it made her think more of me. And so I wasn't prepared to tell the truth. Okay?

2:34Mogey:Okay. We're going to get into that next. So everybody out there, have a little think about that. White lies you've told your partner to make yourself look good. Yeah, right. I want to hear about it. Does it have to be a white lie? It just seems a bit racist. It can be a black lie. Yeah, okay. It can be a dark, dark, horrendous lie. as well. It's free for eight. Sure, why not? Queens of the Stone Age on the Hauraki Big Show. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Pool Jam on the Hauraki Big Show. 13 minutes past four this Tuesday afternoon with Kizimogi and Pugsan Hoidi J. Still under the weather and we are talking white lies.

3:08Mogey:You might have told your partner to impress them. If you can think of any, give us a text on 3483. You could instantly get$50 thanks to Toledo's and you'll go in the draw for a prize pack at the end of the week. Fellas, you'll remember semi-recently when I was bringing in a newspaper from the letterbox. We get the Sunday newspaper. We like to have the newspaper, a croissant, and coffee in bed. It's beautiful. As I was carrying in the newspaper to bed, I could feel something crawling on my arm. And I thought to myself, it's probably a cockroach from the newspaper. And I looked down, I had to get a bit of an angle on my arm there, and sure enough, it was a cockroach.

3:45but in so doing, trying to see what it was, I tipped coffee all over our bed. Ah, that's good stuff. And because we didn't have any undercover thingy, any underlay, because our cat, Bertrand Chris, had been urinating on it sort of seven days a week, twice a day, it went straight through and it made a mark on the mattress, which my wife was fuming about.

4:07Mogey:Yeah, that's right. And it still had a stain on it. Now, I went to change the sheets and I thought to myself, Oh, God. I'm going to have to clean up this marked-up mattress. Right. So I take the sheets off. There is no mark. Wow. The mark has vanished. It's disappeared. She didn't clean it? No. Wow. The reason why I know this is because I go out, and while I'm grabbing some sheets and stuff, she says to me, Oh, my God, there's no mark on the mattress. And I says, That's right. And she says, Did you clean it? And I said, You know it. And she says, did you? And I said, yeah. So you doubled down.

4:48So I doubled down. So I just let her think that I cleaned it when I absolutely did not. Wow. Now she thinks I'm amazing because I did such an unbelievable job of cleaning this mattress. Yeah, right. Now, technically, if you put that underneath a magnifying glass. That's a lie.

5:08Mogey:I've lied. Yeah, that's a lie. You've lied to your partner. If you really look at it. You've got to look at it pretty hard. So, you know, I've been married 10 years. I've got to find any way I can for her to show me any kind of respect. Yeah, you're right. And it's been a long time too, hasn't it? It's been a long time. I'm surprised this was the lie, to be honest. I thought maybe she'd found out about your toupee. Oh, there you go. There's that as well. Yeah. But it's sad that it's such a small and pathetic thing. I guess, you know, somebody could say, you know, if you just made the slightest bit of effort around the place.

5:43Mogey:Yeah, you could say that. But also, what is this magical mattress? Because when you spilt it on there, there was a visible stain, right? I don't know what happened. They're made out of plastic and shit. Who knows? It probably just, you know, dried, just evaporated off. No idea. I'll tell you what, I don't know. But I can tell you who didn't clean it up. Me and Birdshit Chris. My cat is named Birdshit Chris, just for those just joining who are unaware. That's amazing. Because I feel really, maybe it's just me, but I feel terrible about lying to my partner. Yeah. Normally I would, but this was so, like if you get caught out in that light, it's like, eh, whatever.

6:16Mogey:Yeah, just joking. And then you tell this story. I'm on the radio. She'll be listening right now. She'll be fuming. I'll hear about this when I get home. Yeah, right, okay. So now she hates me more. But it's also like it's a win-win because the mattress is clean. Oh, yes. You looked like a hero for a few days. An absolute legend, I look. Yeah, wow. What about you, Pugs? I mean, you're quite new in your relationship, so I can't imagine you would have, I mean, obviously you told a lot of lies to even get into the relationship. Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. But since then, now that it's secure, you wouldn't be lying very often, would you?

6:45No, I think it's really important to keep up the lies, if I'm honest, Chris, just because otherwise, you know, we're still in the early stages. As you guys were saying in our podcast, which is out today at 7.30 p.m., you know, you've got to kind of keep the, what do you call it? The facade. The facade. Yes. You've got to keep that up as long as you can. So I'm still doing it. That's right. So the white lie that I'm probably running with at the moment is like how chill I am about not gaming on my PS5. Oh, right. Like that, my little white lie is like, you know, like, I'll do it if like, you know, if there's nothing else to do.

7:20Like if I've gone to the gym, if I've like cleaned up the house, like if there's no - Yeah, been for a run. If there's no washing, if I've gotten up for my 6.30 run, listen to the podcast, then maybe I'll chuck it on or whatever.

7:33Mogey:Yeah, but in reality, you love it. I love it. Yeah, you love it. I love it. All right, 3483. White lives you've told your partner. We have got$50 cash up for grabs. Every text in the drawer, 3483. In the meantime, it is the White Stripes, Seven Nation Army, and you're on the Hauraki Big Show. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. Nevada on the Hauraki Big Show. 4.39 this Tuesday afternoon with Keezy, Mogi, and Pug-san. Hoody J back on deck tomorrow. Someone who's also back on deck today after being unavailable yesterday is the one and only Charlie Garbaugh, league expert, former warrior, NRL legend.

8:15Mogey:Charlie, how you going today, mate? Yeah, good, brother. How are the fellas doing? Sorry I haven't been listening. Oh, mate, you've been missing some gold. It's been bloody good. Speaking of gold, Charlie, the Waz performance Friday night against the Roosters, starting the season with a huge win, 42-18. What did you like, mate? Everything. I thought we were still missing Barnett, Fisher-Harris, Ford stepped up 70 minutes in the middle. What else? Tanner Boyd doing his job, stepping up, making it hard for him. Metcalfe is obviously going to get his spot back, but maybe it will be those two and a half.

8:50So I thought everyone was on, the defense was on. It helped that the Roosters weren't clicking. but yeah, I think there's a lot to be excited for this season. Were you absolutely frothing it, man? Yeah. You know what? I've got to come clean now talking to you, brother. I didn't watch. What? Why are we calling you? What? Why didn't you watch it? Because I was going to bullshit my way through the interview. You could have. I'm literally sweating right now and I've got to come clean. I didn't watch. I went to Brisbane to watch my brother play and I ended up getting pretty hucky. Yeah, right. What position does your brother play?

9:28Mogey:He's playing on the wing. Oh, what a backbone. What's his name, Charlie? His name's Peter. Peter Gubb. Peter Gubb. And who's he playing for, man? What are they called? Toowoomba Clydesdales. Yeah, right. Yeah. Is he a backbone, would you say, or did he have a shocker? No, he played well. He's a different sort of backbone. He's a fully vaccinated backbone, if you know what I'm saying. Yeah, this guy gets it. Yeah, he gets it. Yeah, right. Well, I'm with you, Charlie. I didn't watch the game either. I invited somebody over for dinner, and so I managed to catch the last eight minutes of it, and that was around about my lot.

10:03But I'm happy to see you win, man. Hang on. Why don't I just take the interview from here?

10:09Mogey:Keezy, you watched the game, right? Yeah, bro. Where do you think we won the game? That's a good question, Charlie. Certainly through the middle, man. As you said, we were missing Barnett there. Our forwards really stepped up. Tanner took the game by the scruff of the neck, man. to be honest Charlie I mean like when you're coming off an off season if I just take over the interview once again because I'm a control freak when you're coming from the off season it's a massive chunk of time to actually come out round one fired up like that must be a hard thing for a team to do right to genuinely come out fired up ready to rip straight back into top level footy I think for the Warriors at home it would be pretty easy Keezy and if you're not yourself who's never been in that position so I think I'll take the interview right now I'll take the reins.

10:54But I think the Warriors at home, starting at home is a big help. It would be tough for the Roosters to fly from Sydney to come to Auckland getting abused on the way out. If I could just take the interview over from you there. I'm just going to take the interview over from you there, Charlie, because actually we've got a shocking record at home. We're absolute garbage. So us playing at home is actually a disadvantage because we're so shit. Yeah, but we're talking about 2026. So you guys are stuck in the past here. you're still talking about what you don't like about Dallon and that sort of thing, but I'm talking about what I do like.

11:27I'll tell you what I did like as well, and I only found this out when I was listening to a podcast on the drive home last night, and that is that the Roosters didn't help themselves. They had a 10-1 penalty count against them in the first half. Well, that's something that Keezy didn't tell us, did he? Yeah, he didn't let us in on that secret, did he? So anyway, Keezy, we got the Raiders Friday night. This coming Friday night, how do you think we're going to go?

11:50Mogey:Yeah, good question, Joe. The Raiders. Yeah, the Raiders, they're always, I mean, we're back at Mount Smart, man, getting two games at home to start the season. I think after that win, we'll have a lot of lead in our pencils, taking down a glamour club like the Sydney Roosters. The Raiders sort of didn't get a good look at them over the weekend. I'll be honest, Charlie, I didn't watch the Raiders play, so I might just take over the interview if that's all right and just ask you, what did you make of the Raiders the weekend just gone? Well, I did watch the Raiders game, and they were tough. They played manly at home.

12:17They were down, I think, by 14, and they came home and won by a drop goal. Yeah. But... Yeah, right, okay. Keezy, before I let you go, who was your Portaking player of the day? Because obviously Portaking's Wellington's owner and operator, Portalu Company.

12:32Mogey:That's right. Whenever I need to do poos in Wellington, I call Portaking. My Portaking player of the day, it has to be Tanner Boyd, man. He just ran the show. He literally ran with the ball in hand, which was bloody good to see. His goal kicking was good, and missed an early couple of kicks, but then drilled about six of them, I think, Charlie. So yeah, I'll be sending out a little Portaking hat and a bottle of some sort of high percentage alcohol responsibly to Tenoboid if that's all good, man. Yeah, yeah. Send it to me, I reckon. Send it to me and a couple of Reeburger and I'll give it to him personally.

13:01Mogey:Yeah, okay. Sounds good, Charlie. Will do, brother. All right, well, thanks for coming on, man. Appreciate you interviewing me like that. It was great. It's all good. Well, you go now. Mogi will take it from here, eh? All right, brother. Okay, see ya. See ya, bye. See ya, brother. See ya, fellas. See ya. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Jimmy Eat World on the Haraki Big Show. Seven minutes to five o 'clock this Tuesday afternoon. Let's talk television, fellas. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue?

13:34Yeah! Yeah! Last night I watched a new season of Alan Partridge called How Are You? It's Alan Partridge. Alan Partridge is a fake, it's a character played by Steve Coogan. He is a low-level broadcaster over in the UK. He does a bit of telly, does a bit of regional radio. He's self-obsessed, and he is very, very funny. In this new show, he's having a look at mental health in the way that only Alan Partridge can. Great. This character's been around for 30 years now, it will be, and it's one of the rare sort of characters that doesn't get progressively worse the more seasons that come out of it. but somehow they've managed to maintain the level of writing.

14:21And it is just absolutely brilliant. It is one of my favourite comedies and comedy characters. Yeah. It delivers every single time. The one last night, it's back in the style of a mockumentary. He's gone through ones that have been sitcoms. He's had a fake talk show that just looks for all intents and purposes like a talk show. And this one, he's sort of back to a mockumentary style, and he's just going around interviewing people about their mental health and sort of been pretty delusional around it. Highly, highly recommend. I haven't seen all of it one episode in, but so far, four buzzies. It's on neon.

14:58Get a line, yeah. Alan Partridge.

14:59Mogey:The thing I like about that is because Steve Coogan has aged with the character. Yes. And he's obviously just kept up with what certain presenters and stuff in the UK do and is just, you know, as that character's aging, it's literally following the life of a broadcaster. Yeah. To the point where you do all this stuff and you're on a radio show then you get sacked and then you're trying to do inspirational talks. Exactly right. It's brilliant. Yeah, that's right. The sad desperation of trying to maintain relevance. Yeah, yeah. And his own self-worth and the value that he holds himself in is only if he's actually got a job.

15:32That's right. So the reason why he starts investigating mental health is because he's doing a speaker series. He's hired to be a speaker for an animal welfare conference. Right. and while he's having a conversation with their key guest, he faints twice into her lap. There's video footage of that, so it's just the weirdest. If you don't know who he is, just watch it, get your hands on any of the earlier stuff and try and watch it from start through till now. He's brilliant.

16:01Mogey:Yeah, Alan Partridge, check it out. Pugs, mate, you go ahead, man. No, no, no, I was literally just going to ask if I need to watch from the start, as you say, if the character ages. Well, no, you don't need to, but you can. You can find it online, but it would be, I think, in quite a good way, as you say, Kesey, because you're going from the start of somebody's career all the way through. But even when he's young, even in the early iterations, he was in his mid-40s. Even though Steve Coogan was in his 20s. He was playing a guy in his 40s. So he was playing a guy that was older. But it's just absolutely brilliant.

16:30Very, very funny.

16:31Mogey:Pugs, you talk about TV, mate. You're a connoisseur. Hit us with it. What have you been watching, brother? Oh, man, it's a real duality at my house. I did watch Mavs, but I'd like to talk about The Sopranos. Married at First Side Australia. but I'd like to talk about The Sopranos because it was a really, really good episode. It's the one where Davey, the guy who works at the sports shop who's also the father of Tony's daughter's mate. He's got a massive gambling problem and it's very dark. You're watching this man just spiral. As played by Robert Patrick who plays the Terminator, the T-1000 in Terminator 2.

17:02In the second one, wow. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh my gosh, what range. I had no idea that was him. How good, how good. I mean, what do you say about The Sopranos, man? It's just an absolute record.

17:13Mogey:I've watched one episode, the first episode, and it didn't hook me. Well, you know how you've said about, oh, wouldn't it be amazing to have Game of Thrones there just sitting there waiting to watch? And you've never seen it. You've got Sopranos. Absolutely. It is regarded by everybody as either the best TV show ever made or at least in the top three. Really? Yes. So top three would have been Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Wellington Paranormal? Yeah, and Talkback's just filling out the top five. Coming up after 5 o 'clock So much stuff Including one and a half Mogies and Pugs Is going to Vietnam So Pugs We're just going to go over Some of your duties and things Like having a good time And relaxing Nah like work duties And that Plus don't forget We're doing a live show This Thursday Critic Bar At the Richmond Club In Christchurch We'll see you there The Hauraki Big Show With Jace, Mike and Keezy Tune in Weekdays at 4 On Radio Hauraki G'day you massive backbones It is the Hauraki Big Show for Tuesday the 10th of March.

18:09Mogey:Four minutes past five. Yes, you've got Keezy here with Mogi and Pug Sun. Hoity J, he's under the weather. We were worried that it was the flu, which means it could be all week, but he texted today saying he's feeling a bit better, Phil. He did. So I'm hoping he'll be back on deck tomorrow. He said he's got a headache, but he's had a headache for about three months. Well, this is what's annoying, is whenever I'm sick or whenever Mogi's sick or Pug's, Hoity J's also got that sickness. That's right. But now he's actually at home. It's just so weird. That's right. There's always something wrong. But now there's actually something really wrong.

18:41Yeah. Really wrong.

18:43Mogey:Really? That bad? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I just thought he had a cold. Well, it's not good for someone of his sort of age and stage of life. 39. You know, a flu for someone like Jase. He's only a little fella. I mean, he's a tough little bastard. Yeah, you're right. But that could end him. Actually, just on that, if you want to see a photo of Jase, he sent one in from home. That's on at Hariki Big Show on Insta. Oh, really? Yeah, yeah. A photo of Jace at home. What's he doing? In bed? He's just in bed. He's made some of that. You know that chicken soup he's always banging on about? Oh, yeah.

19:10That's like Horty J Best in the World, A, number one on chicken soup. He's got some of that in bed, yeah. Oh, wow. That's nice. Get on him.

19:15Mogey:Sent a photo, and that's bloody good stuff. Coming up later this hour there, Pug-san. I heard a startling rumor about you, by the way. We'll get into that later on. What? Shocking bastard. I know. One and a half mogies coming up soon. Yeah, boy. Get it. Plus, don't forget every text on 3483 in the draw for$50 cash. Thanks to Toledo's. This is Space Hog. In the meantime, you're on the Hodaki Big Show. The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki. The Black Keys on the Hodaki Big Show. 40 minutes past 5 this Tuesday afternoon with Keezy, Mogi, and Pugson.

19:48Mogey:Hoagy J hopefully back on deck tomorrow. And Mogi, it says here one and a half mogies. But Hoagy J's away and he usually does the meh part. Yeah. So what are we going to do here? I think you I mean look you've been trying to get this off him for a long time right at the start because you rate yourself on these high notes so are we recording this Pugs? I'd like to hear it what the video? Yeah no no just the audio because we have to play it back for Hoity J Oh 100 % So why don't we just rip into it Okay sorry so he's doing the hyper So you're doing the Hoity J there Keezy Alright cool I mean I didn't want to Everybody ready?

20:21Mogey:I'm just burping Yeah cool Ready? 5, 6, 7, 8 Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben Ben, Ben, Ben Ben, Ben Man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, man. One and a half mogies. I kind of forgot how to do it there. I don't even know what happened. I blacked out. It was so good. It felt quite harmonious, you and I. Yeah, we were killing it. Can I say that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thank you. It's not that big of a deal. We do it every week. All right. Hi, boy. Hi, boy.

20:54Sometimes once a month. Hey, fellas there. old Mogi Minogi's been crook. She's been home from school. This is your daughter, eh? She's six and a half years old. She's in year two, I think. And she's had, it could be COVID, because COVID's made a comeback, but she's had a real snotty nose and quite a heinous cough. But she's in insanely good spirits. Right. So an absolute ball of energy, happy as cracking up but you know with masses of snot hanging out of her nose and sort of running down her face right

21:32Mogey:is the is the the coughing she's not back on the darts is she no she's off the darts okay she got off them with she used a vape oh yeah she's on the vape to swallow the fly so yeah it's been pretty horrible but anyway she's been off for four days and today was the fifth day and it sort of it got to the point where it's it was just like you're too happy If you're sick, you should be miserable. You should be moping around. You're lying down, you can't do anything. But she's out the back on the trampoline. Yeah, no. Parents don't like that. Trampoline, yeah, exactly. You've got to be careful. It's that age old thing.

22:05You mustn't be sick if you can play PlayStation. That's right. So I just took her back to school today and technically still sick. Technically. But I feel like she must have recovered mostly. It's a vibe thing. And be not contagious. Yeah, because I'm just wondering if this makes me an a-hole and if other parents will hate me for doing this. 3403.

22:25Mogey:Yeah, you're definitely an a-hole. Yeah, I know that. But I don't know if it's because of this. Specifically for this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because this is, it reminds me of when I was a kid and whenever I was sick, I wouldn't say that I had a headache, even if I did. Yeah, right. Because a headache meant I wasn't allowed to watch TV. Ah. Yes, true. And so I would always be like, oh, I've got a sore throat, runny nose, blah, blah, blah, blah, and then just act as sad. Temperature, yeah, you're sad, yeah. and then be sitting on the couch watching something hilarious whilst acting sad. Well, the funny thing about it now as being a parent is you can see the acting sad from a mile away.

22:59Okay. Because I thought I was pretty good at it. Oh, yeah. Like my daughter, she literally, she came in this morning. She's like, oh. And genius because I'm already at my computer tap, tapping away, doing a little bit of work. Yeah, nice. And as she walks the sort of the five metres from her bedroom to the office, She knows enough to know, got to chuck in a couple of coughs. Oh, really? Down the hallway. So she's chucking in a couple of coughs down the hallway, pretty heinous. Comes in, she's like, yeah, I don't know if I'm going to be able to go to school today. Without a word of a lie. I'm like, you go, and she's like, oh.

23:33And then the sadness is gone. Yeah, the sadness is gone. It evaporates, yeah, yeah, yeah. But, yeah, your parents could completely see what you're doing. But what it is, is they know you're not sick, but it is very cute.

23:45Mogey:I don't know if that was my case. Oh, yeah, no, not for you. No. Because I remember there was a PlayStation game did come out, and I had a week and a half off school. I'm pretty sure I was sick that first day. Was it Tomb Raider? No, no, no, it wasn't Tomb Raider. It was, what game was it? I can't remember what it was. I think it was Oblivion. Oh, Buzzy Island 2. Buzzy Island 2, that's what it was. That's right, Revenge of the Buzzies. 3483, let us know. Is Mike an a-hole? Yeah, from a parenting point of view, does that make me an a-hole? Sending your kid to school sick. But day five of the sickness, I feel like I'm good.

24:21Mogey:Yeah, true that, man. Oh, is this Wonderwall? Is this Oasis on the big show? The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Arctic Monkeys on the Hauraki Big Show. 5.26 this Tuesday afternoon with Keezy Mogi and Pug San. And this Thursday, the three of us, plus Hoity J, who'll be feeling better by then, we're flying down to Christchurch. We are doing a live show at Critic Bar, which is at the Richmond Club. That is 4-7 this Thursday in Christchurch. And then on the Friday, we are taking the train over to beautiful Grey Mouth to go along to the Hookaticka Wild Foods Festival. That's right.

24:57Mogey:I'm very much looking forward to the end of this week and the weekend. It's going to be great. I don't think I've put much thought into the fact that we are going to be doing one of the most beautiful train journeys, certainly in New Zealand, and one of the best in the world as well. I think it's going to hook me on train journeys. Really? I think I'm going to do this train journey and then I'm going to want to do them all. Really? I really do think so. Yeah. You know, I mean, from what I've seen, it does look amazing. You don't have to do anything. You can just look out the window. I like that.

25:23Trains go where cars can't, pugs. You get a better view, man. You get a better view. So I seriously think I'm going to be right into it.

25:30Mogey:Because you, obviously, it's well known that you're into your model trains. I like small trains, yeah. But not, like, riding on. It's interesting that you'd be into the small ones but not really into the big ones. I hate the big ones. You hate them? Because I'm used to sort of like the passenger trains and stuff. The sort of the... Like locomotives. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right. Or even the ones around Auckland. You know, that sort of thing. Yeah, okay. I see what you mean. It's just not it. Nah. Whereas ones out in the wilderness there. You know, we might see bears pugs. What? Bears in New Zealand.

26:00Mogey:Yeah. Yeah, there's bears pugs down south there, huh? Yeah, there's bears. Grizzlies? Grizzly bears. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So just keep an eye out, punk. Keep your wits about you. We are riding on the Transalpine. If you'd like to go for a journey on that as well, greatjourneysnz.com. Has it sold out, man? The train? Yeah. No, I mean, that one might have. Because people could join us, I'd imagine, on the train. Yeah, probably. I'd say it would have ahead of the Wild Foods Festival. It sounds like we've missed a trick there because it should have been a party train. Well, I think it will be a party train.

26:31Mogey:A crazy train. Going off the rails on a crazy train. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, yeah, well, maybe next year. Next year we'll turn the Transalpine into a party train. I reckon they'll be down for that. Yep. I heard a shocking rumour about you, Pugson. Dilly told me this. Oh, Dilly did, did he? Yeah, yeah. That's not like him. Apparently, and he knows you better than I do, apparently whenever you go on a train, you insist on only going in the caboose. And you refuse to go, even if they were like, oh, come in the front here, up at the driver. Everybody else is there. Everyone else is there. That's where everyone else is going.

27:05Mogey:But you're like, no, I only go in the caboose. Well it's only if the caboose is welcome for me to go into Yeah Like I'm not going into the caboose uninvited And is it because it's the best spot on the train to be For the view or what's the I think it is a great spot If the time is right absolutely But you know I still like the front Do you ever hang out at the back door? At the back door of the caboose You've got a good view That'd be cool I wonder if trains have that I would like that Like, because, you know, obviously you're sitting in the sort of carriage there and you're looking out the windows.

27:38Mogey:But if you could be in the caboose and, like, literally looking out the back door and seeing, I reckon that would be amazing. Be a bit of a rush hanging out there. So you are open to coming up the front with us then? Totally open to it. As long as it's with you guys. There's rumours that we're allowed to, you know, go up the front in the front carriage there and into the old locomotive itself. That's right. Yeah, yeah. So that is just a rumour then? Yeah. Okay. It's because you're hearing it from old Dilly. Yeah. He's a shocking bastard, isn't he? He is a shocker, and you can meet him too. Old Dilly, meet and greet with...

28:11Mogey:Is old Dilly coming? Yeah. Oh, wow. That's going to be great. He'll be at Critic Bar, Richmond Club, this Thursday down in Christchurch. We'll see you there. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. Ozzy Osbourne on the Hauraki Big Show. So 5.38 this Tuesday afternoon with Keezy Mogi and Pug San. And Mogi, did you know that next weekend on Sunday, Pugs and his lovely partner go to Vietnam for a few weeks? Is that next weekend? So not this weekend? Next weekend. The following weekend there. So you are gone for how many weeks? Three. Three weeks. See you later.

28:50Mogey:Now, I feel like this is something that sort of crept up on us, Mogi, because I haven't put a lot of thought into what we're going to do without Pug San. Because a lot of the stuff in the show requires him to be here. So have you put any thought into that, Pugs? Yeah, my main concern is the overflowing inbox of Pugs' Hat of Chakra at gmail.com. Yes. Because I don't know how. Well, it's not going to overflow, is it? Because you won't be here. Oh, because I'm not here. Yeah, so all of those issues that we have with you sort of bombing, you know, going to Sting's late and all that sort of stuff. Yeah, or not being able to find them, not requiring emails.

29:27Yeah, you're sort of meant to be firing off a stinger and you're on your phone, for example. That won't be happening.

29:33Mogey:Yeah, you're right. Because you'll be on your knees in Vietnam. Sorry? Well, obviously, you know, exploring the tunnels and stuff from during the wars. What do you mean? I was thinking about doing that. Yeah, you should, man. It's important when you go on holiday somewhere like that to actually look into the history, not just the positive history, you know, like the full history of a country to really understand the war memorial. That's what Mogi was getting at. Right, that's what you were saying. By saying you're going to be on your knees in Vietnam. So while you're away, I was just thinking just a few things that you do that people probably don't realize.

30:05Mogey:Yes. For example, Pugs, you put the podcast together every day? Yes. You take all the breaks from the radio show, put them together, a little package there, upload it 7.30 every night. A little package. It's a decent package. Who's doing that? Average. Huh? Are you doing that while you're over there? Because I know it doesn't take very long. No. So is that something you could – because your laptop is quite small. Are you taking it with you? My laptop, the MacBook. Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever it is. You don't have to take that over. On Macbook Pro. Yeah, Macbook Pro. Yeah, yeah. Look, I wasn't planning on taking that over with me, if I'm honest.

30:35Mogey:Well, because what if we get you like an adapter so you can plug it in over there? That's a good idea. Yeah, then you can still take it. Would that work? Because it's handy to have, right? Because who's doing it? Who's doing the editing? Who's doing the editing? We're just sort of figuring out those details at the moment, fellas, on who's going to tag in for me. I think it's easier if you do it. Is it? Yes. I think so, too, because you know the product well. You're very fussy. no one does it like you pugs and it'll honestly take how long does it take you know how long does it take you to do it hours no I don't think it is hours I think it's only hours I think it's less than an hour I agree and hours I don't want to have to because we've got a chat group as well on WhatsApp and I don't want to have to add strangers into it I don't like strangers being on our chat group oh well there's other people in the chat like Dilly and our boss yeah I know I want them off I want them out of there yeah and the good thing is too pugs just looking at the time difference you know when the show sort of finishes It'll be about one o 'clock sort of lunchtime-ish.

31:25Mogey:So what you can do is the people you're in Vietnam with, they go have lunch. They'll go get a banh mi or a pho. And you just blast through the potty in like an hour or two and then you can literally meet up with them and it's like nothing's, you've not even missed out on anything. So like hours, you're saying? Like an hour or two. How long does it take? It doesn't take hours. It doesn't take hours. And hours to put that together. Well, that's a bummer. You have no idea. That's a bummer because you're on holiday. Yeah. Okay. Who's running the Instagram? while you're away. Oh, true. Because you've got the login for that.

31:55Mogey:Will you still be doing that? Usually I do look after the Instagram, yeah. Yeah, okay, because I mean, I don't know who we can do. I don't know if you can go, Pugs. I think we're going to need you here, man. Should I just flag it? Because you've done a Hoity J. The other thing is you've done a Hoity J and you've booked a three-week holiday right at the start of the year. So you're going to come back, you're going to be, you know, feeling pretty good, pretty happy. Yeah. Come June, July, you're going to be a miserable bastard like Hoity J, complaining when we were all the way on holiday. Yeah, you're right.

32:20Mogey:So I think it's best if you stay. I think you should stay. Maybe you go mid-year. We'll be smarter. Right. Your partner and your friends. Actually, next year is meant to be great for Vietnam. And just sort of be a miserable bastard until then. Is that what you mean? Yeah, you're going to have to pick up your game in that department. Absolutely. But that's a conversation between the boss and you, not us. I mean, we talk to the boss about you, and then the boss talks to you about you. Is that why that keeps coming up? But, hey, look at the bright side. In a year and a half's time, you'll be on your knees in Vietnam.

32:50Mogey:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. R.E.M. on the Hauraki Big Show. Ten minutes to six o 'clock this Tuesday evening with Keezy Mogi and Pug-san. It's time for... What's on the news? With me, Keezy. He's been great with his things today. Yeah, Pug-san has. Right on the money. Oh, Pug-san over here. Thank you. Cheers. Oh, Pug-san on the ones and twos. That's news. Old pugs aren't doing what's expected of them. Yeah, bare minimum pugs. Good work, mate. Hey, what's on the news with me, Keezy? Yes. It's a segment where, you know, probably daily. I like the idea of me keeping the audience up to date with important stuff happening in the world.

33:36Do you mean what's on the news? Did he say what's on the dinner?

33:38Mogey:No, I said what's on the news with me, and I almost said dinner. Dinner, right. Okay. I'm with you now. Everyone else out there up to date? And just also, just to make it real confusing, after 6 what's for tea with me dinner yes is coming up with me Keezy so do text in on 3483 what you are having for dinner and you can win $50 thanks to Toledo's but what's happening in the world fellas is I found an interesting article about the 6 most anticipated museums opening in 2026 this sounds like a TV show you'd watch with your wife I wish like yeah you're right like sort of seven to eight minutes on each museum and just sort of showing you inside what they're thinking, what's expected.

34:23I don't know. It's just the sort of thing you come in and you go, oh, last night on TV I watched six new museums that are opening this year.

34:30Mogey:Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I give it four and a half buzzies. I would give it four and a half buzzies too. I love it. Have you ever seen, is it Mysteries at the Museum? No. Great show. No. Great TV show. Some people out there listening will be like, I know that show. Yeah. Good show. The people that will be listening will be the sort of people that were 18 when Steerway to Heaven came out. Yeah. Yeah, backbones. But the way the show works is basically there'll be like an item in a museum and it'll be like... I feel like we're... Oh, yeah, sorry. Yeah, true. The six most anticipated museum openings of 2026.

35:08Mogey:I bet I wouldn't go to any of these. Let's see how we go. I'm not a big museum guy, though. Let's find out. Okay. The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Narrative art. Do we get a definition of that? $1 billion donated via George Lucas and his wife. Mrs. Lucas, yeah. It'll showcase comics, illustrations, film art, pop culture imagery, including designs from Star Wars. I think you'd go to that. Yeah, maybe. Dataland. A futuristic museum focused on art created with AI. That sounds shit. Yeah, that is shit. That sounds really... Pugs. Huh? All right. The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. Yeah, that'll be amazing.

35:56Mogey:That'll be amazing because you've got the Guggenheim. That's already the Guggenheim Foundation. There's already a massive museum called the Guggenheim somewhere. There is, yeah. I don't know where it is. No, neither. Then I wouldn't go. Yeah. No, Pugs. No, he said yes to that one. Oh, but he said, but he wouldn't go. Yeah, but what's actually at the Guggenheimen? No, sorry. It's the Guggenheimen. No, no, no, not Hyman. Why not? I don't know. That's shocking from you. What do you mean? Oh, am I being sexist by saying that?

36:27Mogey:In Brussels, fellas, how many of these have we got left? Yeah, nah, flag it. Actually, don't worry about it. Do you like royal blood? The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. That's right, your massive backbones. It is The Big Show, and it is brought to you by Toledo's. From work days to workouts, Toledo's keeps you balanced, refreshed, and ready to go. Now, what you need to do there, and we haven't been plugging this today, but take a photo of yourself with your bottle of Toledo's, stick it up on socials there, tag in the Haireki Big Show, and you could be in to win$1 billion, courtesy of Pugsar.

37:08Like it's my billion dollars. That's your money, yeah. Actually, why don't you bring back a billion dong? That big shit producer money. You're off to Vietnam, you can bring back some dong. I can bring back some dong. Not just any old dong. Don't know about a billion dong. How much is a billion dong?

37:24Mogey:Well, two million dong, I found out the other day, is 150 New Zealand dollars. No, you can afford a billion. How much is a billion? Ten billion? About a hundred grand. Is it? Probably. Come on, pugs, man. That's like a month's wages for you. You got this, brother. You can do it, man. Cheers, fellas. Just on Toledo's, yesterday we were talking about some of the stockists that you can find physically in store. It's also important to note you can actually order it online, toledos.co.nz. That's T-E-L-E-D-O-Z.co.nz. Get on you, Pugson. You like that? That is good, actually. Just, fellas, just quickly.

37:58Mogey:Yeah. What are you guys doing for dinner tonight? Because when I left the house, my wife was working from home, and I said, hey, babe, what are we doing for dinner tonight? And she said, eggplant. plant. Do you know my wife is doing a thing, and maybe she'll talk about this separately, but she's doing a thing now where we've got a recipe holder. You know you have those recipe holders? You put your recipe book on it? Yeah, we have one. And it holds the book open? Yes. So she's doing that thing where you have the recipe book sitting in the recipe holder and it just stays there open all the time.

38:25Yeah. Like we're always making recipes, you know what I mean? Like it's open to a page. It's sort of something that people do if they want to, you know, pretend like they're snazzy, I think. I don't know. It's a way of styling your kitchen. Sorry, is this post she's made the recipe or you've made the recipe? No, no, it's just open to that page. It's just on any. Yeah, yeah. No, but the page it's open to is like an eggplant sandwich. Puke. Who's looking at a recipe to make a sandwich? Well, no, that's a good question.

38:50Mogey:We are. 24-7. It's open on that page. We've got an eggplant and a loaf of Molenberg. What should we make with this? In the morning, you walk into the kitchen and you just glare, give it the cider or you make any coffee. I'm a hater of eggplant. I think maybe my wife is stirring. I love it. For that reason. Yeah, right, okay. I like eggplant. Well, do you think my wife, because she kind of was half in thought concentrating on a work thing, and she just said, oh, eggplant. Right. And then I left because I was coming to work, and then I was in the car, and I was like, wait a minute, eggplant what?

39:18Mogey:Yeah. Just an eggplant? Or maybe she was saying, you know, maybe it was suggestive. Ah. Like a bit of eggplant. No, I didn't think that at all, Chris. I think that's sort of more about you. Okay. Yeah. It sounds like I'll just be eating an entire eggplant. But what are you eating, New Zealand? That's what I want to know. Give us a text, 3483. Up next, what's on the T with me dinner? With me, Keezy. Oh, my God, it's so confusing. So text her on 3483 what you are having for dinner, and you could win$50 cash thanks to Toledo's. Take me out. Frans Ferdinand on the Hauraki Big Show. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.

39:56Mogey:Stone Temple Pilots, Wicked Garden. You don't hear that song often. It is the Hauraki Big Show, 15 minutes past 6 with Keezy Mogi and Pugsan, and it's time for... Oh, yeah, hey, guys. Text here from Steve. What's on the tea with me? Dinner with me, Keith. That's good. That works. Pugs has changed it again. He has. He's updated it. He's improved it. I think you'll find I didn't do the changing of anything. Who did it? You, by saying that. So the sting has been changed by Pugs, but the name has been changed by us. So Pugs is just updating it. I'm facilitating your idea. I'm doing what a good producer does.

40:33and I'm bringing it to life, man. Well, that's what a good producer does. Yeah, makes a dumb sting.

40:38Mogey:But I also feel like, you know, if Moggy was to accidentally say, what's on tally with me television, you wouldn't then rename the whole segment. Great idea, Keezy. Pugs, that's a new name for it. What's on tally with me television. Yes. Guys, I think we've gone too far. This is the segment where you text in on 3483 and tell us what you're having for dinner. And then we read it out. For me? And every single text on 3483 in the draw for 50 bucks cash. Thanks to Toledo's. G'day, fellas. Josh here. Oh, Josh Homme. Pugs? Josh Groban. Groban. Groban. Who's Josh Groban? Groban. He's a singer, isn't he?

41:22He's a singer, yeah. Oh, Josh Groban.

41:24Mogey:You raise me up. Oh, yeah. That's Josh Groban. Groban, isn't it? Josh is having... G'day, guys. Josh Groban here. No. I'm having leftover butter chicken at midnight in the light of the fridge. Interesting time to eat, although I recommend. Shoveling it. Just shoveling it in. The bowl's on the ground. Yeah, that's right. The bowl's on the ground and you're sort of squatting over it like a little T-Rex. You're squatting over it. Like a golem. Like golem. Yeah, that's right. You're just eating it with your hands. You're downstairs rubbing on the lino, the cold lino, and you're getting little bits of dust.

41:59Mogey:I don't have lino at my house. I mean, Josh does it. G'day there, fellas. Hamish here. Hamish Carter. Pugs? Hamish and Andy? Yeah. Pugs? Hamish and Andy. You can't just steal his, man. What? You can't say Josh Groper and then just steal his. I'm facilitating his idea. It's Hamish and Andy. Love texting. G'day, fellas. Love what you're doing over there, fellas. Love the show. Heat it up. Leftover nachos after footy training. Can't beat it, fellas. Leftover nachos? Hard. Is that the go, is it? To keep the chips crispy. unless you've kept them in the bag. It's going to be my point, which is I don't think leftover nachos are what's up.

42:37I agree with you.

42:39Mogey:Right, okay. Even if you oven heat them all? Nah, because they still get the moisture of the mints, especially if there's some kind of a juice involved there. Now, that's a no. Now, when I make nachos, I melt the cheese onto the nachos in the oven and then put the mixture in there. But even if you kept some separate, the melted cheese on the nachos is not the same the next day. So hopefully he's got some leftover corn chips, I think is what we're getting at. Yeah. He's just texting, yeah, I do. Oh, man. Hamish and Andy. Yeah. G'day there, fellas. Jono here. Jono and Ben. Yeah, it's just all the comedy duos.

43:15Mogey:The text says, what's for Keezy with me, T? I'm having a beautiful roast chicken and veggies cooked by my wonderful mum. Oh. Can't beat a mum cooked meal. Cheers, Jono and Ben. That's true, though. You can't. That's very sweet. Yeah, it is good. Does your mum cook a good meal, Pugs? She does. You'll recall when I said that the other day on our podcast. Bolognese. Bolognese, my favourite. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She heard me talk about that on the podcast, how I missed her bolognese, which she usually makes for my birthday, and then got some pool replacement, and she was like, I have to make you spag bolsen time.

43:48I'm like, please do. Does she put carrot in it? Yeah. That's shit.

43:55Mogey:You hear that, Mum? Nah, a little bit of carrot in there is fine. But the way she does it, it's quite clever. It's just like big chunks of it. Yeah, huge carrots. Just all uncooked. Just carrots. Yeah, just big bits of uncooked. Just carrot balling, man. You're better than that, Mum. Yeah, Mum. Carrots. Do you guys want one more? Yes, please. G'day there, fellas. Joanne here. Joanne Lumley. Joanne Lumley. Pugs? I don't know a single Joanne. Do you not? Not even famous ones. Joanne Wally. Kilmer. Was married to Val Kilmer. There you go. See, two obvious ones right there. Oh, of course. My favourite.

44:28Mogey:Luckily, it is Joanna. Lovely. Lovely. She's saying that an absolutely fabulous dinner tonight. This will be terrible. Because it's the show that she's on. What's for tea? Takoyaki with fresh octopus from Kaikoura Fishing. I don't like people eating octopus. Right, okay. They're too smart. The people? No, not the people. The octopus is too smart. Right, okay. Why do you say that? Did you get beaten in an exam by an octopus? I've just seen lots of documentaries on octopies. Do you remember that one? Was it My Favourite? My Friend. My Friend the Octopus? That relationship was... Well, that was the thing about it.

45:10That's how smart the octopus was. It made the human want to bang it. Really? Yeah. That's smart. Is that what that show's about? Yeah. It's pretty hot. It gets pretty tasty by the end. You know what I'm talking about, pugs. no gross I did not know that was a dog it's pretty grim that is weird yeah

45:32Mogey:far out yeah the guy's South African don't know why that's relevant it's not relevant literally got the end detail to throw in there just saying when he's talking about his love for the octopus yeah it's even weirder because of the accent yeah right okay The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki bit of green day there holiday on The Hauraki Big Show 6.28 this Tuesday afternoon with Keezy Mogey and Pugsan. Hoity J has been under the weather on the men, though. So hopefully back on deck tomorrow. And we'll definitely be down in Christchurch this coming Thursday.

46:07Mogey:Critic Bar, the Richmond Club. We'll see you there for another big show live event. Yeah. I was going to say the first one of the year, but we did one down in Tauranga. Have we done two? Maybe not two. Black Clash, yeah. But they're always a highlight of my calendar, you know, doing a big show, doing a live show. Yeah, well, down in Christchurch will be good. They always go off. The craziest ones that we've done have been certainly sort of, I don't know, looser establishments, I think you'd say, which is not The Critic. The Critic is a classy joint. Yeah, it is. Great pool tables too. Yes, actually, it's a good place to get there early, have a pizza, shoot some pool.

46:45Mogey:Yes, pizza. The Richmond Club there, Critic Bar, cannot bloody wait. Now, fellas, Radio Hauraki, we always pair up with the New Zealand International Comedy Festival because let's be honest, who doesn't like having a laugh? That's so true, man. Yeah, I love it too. That's good stuff, fellas. That's good stuff. The good news is that we have got a trip to the Best Foods Comedy Gala to give away to you and a mate. All you have to do if you want to win flights in a night at Sky City Hotel plus tickets to the Best Foods Comedy Gala, which is Friday the 1st of May, All you have to do is head to hodaki.co.nz.

47:26Mogey:Get yourself in the draw there. Mogi, we're not doing the comedy festival this year. We aren't entering. Hurrah! I know. We entered last year, and I loved it. Well, last year we did a show, a weird show. A variety performance. Yeah, it was a variety show, yeah. And there was some real backbones turned up to watch. I think we did two shows, didn't we? Two nights. Two nights, yeah. And some real backbones turned up, some real fans of the show. and none of them seem to enjoy it. No, I'd say, I mean, I vehemently disagree. Talking to them afterwards, they were like, oh, yeah, I don't know what to expect.

48:03Mogey:Anyway, backbone, would you be open to doing a viewing of that show? Because we filmed the whole thing. I think it should be chopped up into embarrassing social clips. That's something you could do actually while you're on the plane to Vietnam there, Pugs. Actually, that's a good point. Yeah, because what were you planning to do on the plane? Literally anything else. Yeah. Well, this sorts that out. You don't have to plan anything else. Oh, perfect. Yeah, this is you sorted. So, okay, because the idea has been floated that we sort of do a little viewing of the show a year later and just sort of see how it's aged.

48:38Mogey:Where has this been watched? This is not Eddie Murphy raw or delirious, by the way. No, this is the big show's night of culture. Yeah, because I worry that even though it's only been a year that a lot of the jokes have aged really badly. Yeah, they aged pretty badly live in the room, didn't they? Yeah. Yeah, they certainly did. But, hey, if you want to win that awesome trip, head to hodaki.co.nz, and you and a mate could be flying up to Auckland, wherever you are, staying the night at Sky City Hotel and getting tickets to the Best Foods Comedy Gala. hodaki.co.nz. Coming up shortly, a bit of Iggy Pop for now, fellas.

49:10Mogey:How do you feel about a bit of Pearl Jam? Douche, douche. Eh? A little bit of Eddie Vedder there. A bit of acoustic guitar on the big show. Yeah. Yeah. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. 6.39 on the Hauraki Big Show. But an Iggy Pop there, Lust for Life. Keezy, Mogi and old Pugsan here. Hoody J is off sick, but fingers crossed he is back in tomorrow. And I'm excited, Mogi, because old Pugsan over there, he's been cooking something up in Studio B and he's got a segment for us. Sometimes you save the best will last. 100%. That's exactly what we've done here tonight. So, Pugs, take it away, brother.

49:50Mogey:That shit, Vanilla Radio. Turn that shit off with Hoidy. Pugs. Right, so you think this is Vanilla Radio? Yeah, man, but I'm having a lot of fun with it, so I thought I'd bring it to you fellas. Yeah, I wouldn't mind having some fun with it too, so yeah, absolutely. Yeah, man, let's have some fun. So just for people that don't know, Vanilla Radio is supposed to be when we do a segment that is just classic radio, very vanilla, that every other show is doing. Yeah. So you think this is like that? I reckon it could be. I reckon it could be, but I am enjoying it. Sure, get into it. I'm finding it very wholesome.

50:25Yeah, I can get into it if you like, Mo.

50:26Mogey:I think you're selling yourself short, Pugsamba. Get into it. Hey, cheers, fellas. Well, look, if you know me, you know I like to frequent sushi shops or other Japanese cuisine restaurants. I like to go get a curry katsu every now and then. And I'm noting at the places that I tend to frequent, it's always the same tunes that they jam when you're getting your sushi. Yeah, not necessarily the one there. Are you sure or do you think they just all, you're saying they all sound the same?

50:55No, I'm saying at the ones that I frequent, they are often playing similar soundtracks in the background as ambience while you're eating sushi. And I don't mean the one down here, obviously, that we go to, but I'm noticing that there are often soft piano covers of well-known tunes. And so when I'm eating my sushi, I like to try and do, Sorry, are you yawning over there? No, no. Okay, no, just checking. I was loving it. Just checking. This is really important to me. So I thought I would get a few snippets of some of the stuff that I'm hearing. Is this from in the field? And this is, I'm hoping you guys can determine what these are.

51:31Oh, wow. Guessing game, all right. So this is Face the Music Pug Style. Yeah, from a sushi shop. Yeah, yeah. The first two I reckon are pretty easy, but the third one will take you a bit more time. And am I right in saying that this is what's on the sushi shop with Pugsan? What's on the Sushi Shop soundtrack with me, Pugsar? Okay, cool. All right, lad on us. Okay, first one. Here we go.

51:59Play along at home too. I have no idea.

52:07The plane sounds like Elton John.

52:16It's harder than you think. Yeah, I've got no idea. Wait for it. Okay.

52:26Purple Rain. Nice. Hey. That's good. Pugs, this segment rules. See what I mean, man? It's kind of a rush when you're eating your little... It's just that first sort of 45 seconds was difficult, but then we got there. Well, that's some good feedback. Pugs, maybe trim the audio next time. No, I reckon I could extend it. Do you guys want another one? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Here we go. Is it longer?

52:53It's hard, eh? But it comes to you.

53:02I have no idea. And that's playing while I'm eating my salmon and ammo. What is that? What is that? That is Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

53:12Mogey:No, it's not.

53:16Wait for it. Here we go.

53:24Oh, yeah. Do you hear it? No, I still don't. No, I'm just saying yeah, just to crack along. So let's do the hard one. Do you actually want to? Yeah. This one I struggle with the most.

53:43And by the way, we play all these on Hauraki Oh really? Yes Green Day, Foo Fighters

53:49Mogey:Foo Fighters Foo Fighters what? Everlong No Monkey Ranch Listen

53:57Mogey:I've got nothing There goes my hero We're just naming songs In the hope that we get it right Do you want to know what it is? please actually I don't can we go to ads yeah I'd rather hear ads the Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki

54:23Mogey:well there you go the Big Show done and dusted for Tuesday the 10th of March Keezy, Mogi and Pugsun signing off hopefully Hoody J back on deck tomorrow but we do of course do a podcast outro today was no different What's today's clip there, Pugsun? Today's clip is a post-meeting that we had with our boss, him getting confused about what certain terms mean, which I've omitted from the clip. Right, okay. Well, he started it by not knowing what **** he meant. How did he not know? Did he not know, though? I don't know that he didn't know. No, he didn't. It's like when we were doing the goat and he wanted to do the ****.

54:58Mogey:That's right. The hunt for the best singer of all time. Like he's hearing these terms, but he has no idea. Oh, that's right. That's right. Oh, God. Do you want to hear what our boss said? You have to listen, I suppose. You have to listen. That's a good trick from you, Pugs. That's nice. A little tease there, man. What are you up to tonight, Keezy? I'm going to go home, eat eggplant. My wife finally texts through what it actually is. What is it? Is it crumbed in a sort of a panko crumb there? Coconut peanut noodle salad with eggplant. I would never have picked that after hearing just eggplant. Yeah, same.

55:29Mogey:So that sounds yummy. Vegetarian. And spicy. Yeah, vegetarian. So that's what I'll be doing. and then we're probably going to watch a TV show of some sort. She'll go to bed, then I'm going to go online with my mates. Nice. Play a bit of Ark Raiders. What are you doing there, Bogus? I'm going to go home and probably just go to bed, to be honest with you. I'm shattered, but I feel better than I did when I first came in, as I usually do. But I'm buggered. I just need a good sleep, fellas. Yeah. Just a real early night. I tried to have an early night last night, but the cat kept on getting up and doing steamers on my pillow.

55:58Mogey:Yeah. Cool. Yeah, true. That's just another night for old Mogie, though, Pugs. What are you doing tonight, man? I'm going to go home, workshop my sushi shop soundtrack segment. Just get the whiteboard out, get my partner involved, and see how we can bring it back, you know? I don't know what your issue is. I thought it was excellent. I thought it was excellent radio. Radio awards. Cheers, guys. Pugs, if you can clip that off. I'll also eat some sawba noodles with some tofu. All right. And then I'll watch some TV. Sounds great, man. I'm stoked for you. Thanks. hey listen to the big show tomorrow 4 till 7 hopefully Haughty J back on deck and if you missed anything don't forget the Hodaki Big Show podcast comes out at 7.30 tonight until tomorrow we'll see you later bye see ya
