In short

Live from Emerson’s Brewery in Dunedin celebrating 10 years of Hazy and Confused hazy IPA; multiple audience-driven games and polls, including a “Wednesday Throbber” where locals vote on songs and the loser must go outside for a cigarette, plus an “emergency Big Pole” about whether Pug San should give Hoardy J a Vietnamese Camel.

Guests/backgrounds

No traditional guests; hosts are Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue, and Keyzie (Keezy). A featured interview guest later is Dave from Boys Trip (organises Magic Round travel).

Key claims

Hoardy J has been cigarette-free since October but uses vapes; a May bet requires no cigarettes or vapes (gum allowed). After Hoardy J lost the throbber, he was forced to smoke a durry with a crowd present. The Big Pole result determines whether he must smoke another cigarette. Dave claims Magic Round is “pretty much sold out,” with only a few seats left from Christchurch and Wellington.

Notable examples

Airport mishaps (wrong gate/lines, exit-row antics), TV recaps (Gone, Location Location Location), song vote tiebreaker (Journey vs Scribe), and Magic Round stories (Warriors vs Panthers upset leading to premium economy/business-class upgrades).

0:00Big Show!

0:01Mike Minogue:The Horeki Big Show with Toledo's. From work days to workouts. It'll fuel your thirst.

0:08Keyzie:Welcome to the biggest show on earth. Our biggest show. The biggest. Biggest. This is big. The Horeki Big Show with Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh, g'day you mad bastards! Great to have your company on this glorious day in beautiful Dunedin, live from the Emerson's Brewery Bar. If you're down in the area, come on down and say g'day to the fellas because you're listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Toledo's.

0:40Mike Minogue:Yeah, old intellectualite brands are done. Toledo's is taking over. No nasties, no compromises. Compromises.

0:51Keyzie:Toledo! Oh, yeah, rock and roll. Speaking of which, he's back, ladies and gentlemen. Old Mogey, you stallion, you Adonis, you Greek god. How are you, you stud? Yeah, going pretty grousey, you mad dog. Had a couple of days off of work with a little bit of a flu, sinusitis as well, they call it. But great to be back here. I feel like a million bucks. Sound great, man. Thanks, man. You're sounding fantastic there, Mogey. And old Keezy, how are you going, mate? Sporting a fantastic Warrior shirt. You're looking good, man. You've waxed your hair. Your Mo's looking particularly plush. Your ears are still a bit wonky, but, God, you're looking good, mate.

1:33Mike Minogue:Thanks, Jase. Yeah, it's really great to be here in front of a few hundred people and have you point out my wonky ears. Actually, a lovely bloke named Rory, he brought up a little game for everyone to play. It's called Pin the Ears on Me, Keezy. and it's got a picture of my face on it and then some ears and you just sort of pin them on where you think they go on my face. Here's a hint, it's not where you think. But it's bloody great to be down here in Dunedin, man. Always get a great reception. Love being down here.

1:57Keyzie:Yeah, I tell you what, we'll talk about it a little bit later in the show, fellas, but we got to visit a student flat down here in Castle Street and what an absolute joy that was, genuinely. It really was. It really took me back, but let's get into some tunes before we do an emergency big poll.

2:17Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah.

2:18Keyzie:Do you like Collective Soul? Not really. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Yes, indeed, Jane's Addiction there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show, this glorious afternoon in Dunedin. We're live from the Emerson's Brewery. If you're in the area, come on down and say g'day to the fellas. But, fellas, we're going to have to have an emergency Big Pole. The Big Pole.

2:52Keyzie:Now, I should let everyone know that we weren't planning on having a Big Pole, were we, fellas? No, we weren't. But there was a very stressful situation that occurred. Some of you maybe are aware of the fact that old Hoardy Jay hasn't had a ciggy. Since October last year, we figured out, wasn't it? That's right, while we're over it. Hold your applause. Well done. I'd rather you didn't applaud that actually. What a hero. And he's had 8 billion vapes in the same period. Well, maybe, yeah. 7 billion. Yes. So we made a bet, didn't we, Hoity J? Kesey is desperate for Hoity J to get off the vape, whereas I think it's great that you're on the vape, Jase.

3:32I think it's fantastic you're doing something in your later years that you're absolutely passionate about and that you love. I also have no faith that you'll ever be able to give it up. Much like me, we're slaves to the nicotine. Totally, man. So we've made a bet that in the month of May, Jase is going to try and give up the nicotine. He's allowed no cigarettes, no vapes. He's allowed the gum, and that's it. So it's$100 each I put on the line. Kesey believes in Hoity J, despite all of the evidence to the contrary. And the pressure is really on now, isn't it, Jase? Because today, Pug San whipped out a packet of$2 Vietnamese cigarettes.

4:06and you started jonesing like a bastard.

4:10Keyzie:Yeah, I've got to be honest with you, it was massively triggering because we're on tour, aren't we, fellas? And when you're on tour, what happens on tour stays on tour. You're a shocking bastard. And to be frank with you, it's not May, okay? So the bet's not valid yet. And old Pug San pulls out that packet of Vietnamese camels and old Hoody Jay starts getting a little bit twitchy. So the big poll today is, should Pugs give Hoity J one of his Vietnamese camels, yes or no?

4:42Mike Minogue:Yeah. No, that's no. Now you're talking. Sorry. Now you're talking. That is not how the big poll works. You vote and hold up your show. That's sort of kesey. We're done. What is the point? I'm like sitting here, I've put my own money on the line trying to get him off the darts and off the vapes. And then Pugs shows up with the worst darts you've ever seen in your life. And you're straight away. Oh, they'll be delicious.

5:03Keyzie:Can I just say, I want to say, I really appreciate that you're backing me, Keezy. And the show yesterday, in fact, he went a little step further, did old Keezy. He said, you don't have to pay$100, Jase. I believe in you so much that I'll take your side of the bet and I will pay Mogi$200 if you have a cigarette or a vape in the month of May. You've got to factor in the fact, too, that we're going to be over in Brizzy at the Ruppel League. So she's going to be a tough challenge. But Keezy, I'm really grateful that you back me, man. Not even my wife backs me on this. She was absolutely filthy. Well, she gave up on you years ago.

5:42Keyzie:That I'd taken this bet. So we're going to do a big poll today. Should Pug San give Hoity J one of his Vietnamese camels? What's the vibe in the room, by the way? Yeah. Yeah. God, I love Dunedin, man. They're all backbones down here. You know what I mean? But as always with the big poll, it's a binding referendum. And rather than do the big poll after six like we usually do, I reckon we pull it forward to about 4.30. And we just go from there. What do we say, fellas? I just want to make it clear, though, Jase, if it does come back, on the off chance it comes back, that yes, Pugs does have to give you a cigarette.

6:26Yes. You can't back out of it, mate.

6:28Keyzie:Oh, there'll be no backing out from Hoity J, I promise you that much.

6:32Mike Minogue:Thanks, Moggy. Yeah, keep an eye on him and make sure he smokes that dar, because you know what he's like. He won't.

6:38Keyzie:I'll just have the one, Keezy, all right?

6:41Mike Minogue:Seriously, seriously, consider this. Should we just pull out of the bit right now?

6:45Keyzie:You can't. Listen, man, May's a long... It's a long way away, Keezy. It's like a week and a bit. We're in Dunners. where with all the students, with all the backbones, no one's going to give a shit if Hoity J goes out the back there and has a quiet puff just to settle the nerves. But anyway, it's a big poll, so I'll have to go by that. And we'll be calling that at about 4.20.

7:14Mike Minogue:At 4.20 as well. All right, well, head to the Araki Big Show's Instagram there. You can have a vote. Actually, it doesn't really matter because he's going to go and have a dart anyway, so he gives a shit.

7:22Keyzie:It's a referendum, Keezy. I'll go by what the people say. I am a man of the people.

7:26Mike Minogue:Do you like the chilies? Good, because this is Blink 182. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

7:39Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Audio slave there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show, live from Emerson's Brewery in beautiful sunny Dunedin. If you're in the area, come on down and say good day to the fowlers.

7:52Mike Minogue:Good stuff, Jase. The fowlers. Earlier this morning, at about 6am, we were at the airport in Auckland there flying down to Dunedin. And whenever we fly anywhere, it's quite funny watching Jase operate in an airport environment. Like, for example, he'll take off his shoes and his jacket and his bag and he'll put it into the tray and it'll go through the machine. And then it'll come out the other side and the tray will be upside down and the shoes will be tangled up in the rollers. And then there'll be four lighters in his bag so it'll get flagged over to the side. It's funny. Yeah, he's funny. It's standard.

8:25Mike Minogue:It's standard. Yeah. Today was another good one, except for it was my fault. Ah. We lined up at the wrong gate. And we were in a hurr of a line, weren't we? Yeah, it was a massive line, Keezy, that's for sure. Yeah, I was like, check this line out. Yeah, right. And then Jase was effing in Jeff. And then we waited in line all the way down, got right to the front. That was going to Wellington. And then our gate was right there, wide open. So for the first time ever, I experienced what it's like to go through an airport as you, Jase. Can I say, man, you're doing it tough. Yeah, thanks, man. I'd be on the camel's turf if that was me.

8:56Mike Minogue:Yeah, totally, totally. Responsibly. But I understand you guys. We were a little bit late, actually. Old Pugsar and I turned up a little bit late. And straight through security, no errors for me. Usually I've forgotten my wallet or my phone. Yeah, generally speaking. Left my bag in the car or my shoes or something like that, but managed to get through without too much struggle. Got on the plane there, and as I was walking along, Keezy puts it, because Keezy's a gold member. I'm not going to. Yeah, yeah. I'm not going to be there. He's like one of the rich people, you know.

9:27Keyzie:He's got game of two halves money. That's right. And so he'd put himself in the exit row because he needs a bit more room now since he's been piled on the beef. Excuse me. The dumplings. So he needs a little bit of extra space. But what was great, he hadn't seen me, but as I came down the aisle, he was talking to the air steward, and she was trying to tell him all of the safety, give him the safety briefing. And he was looking at her and doing cross eyes and all sorts of weird faces at her. And I thought that was totally out of line. I was doing it at Mogey. She's got a job to do. And here's Keezy taking the piss.

10:00Yeah, man. And I thought that was shocking.

10:01Mike Minogue:I was doing that at Mogey, who was standing behind her. You know, I could tell it was him because she was sort of in the foreground. And there was just this massive schnoz resting on her shoulder. And I was like, that's Mogey. And so I was doing it at him. And then he's, you know. Come on, Jase. Who do you believe, man?

10:15Keyzie:And then, of course, there's the obligatory Keezy steamer, which seems to happen whenever you go on a plane. But it's funny you should say that, Mogi, actually, because I was deeply shocked when the drinks tray came around. Was it a tray? Usually it's a trolley. Your drinks trolley. You know, and you can get your cup of tea, your coffee, your snacks and so forth. And the air hostess said to old Keezy, what would you like? And he said, I'll have a coffee thanks. Strong and black like my men. And I was like okay geez, Keezy, come on man I mean just pull it back a bit. It's funny Is it funny? Why?

11:13Keyzie:Why is that funny? I was shocked Keezy.

11:15Mike Minogue:Well first of all you're about 15 rows behind me because I've got a gold member. You've got a gold member. And also we had a plan in place for this break and it's turned into Keezy did poos and then Keezy was racist.

11:31Keyzie:It's not racist. It's not racist at all. It's not like bloody Pugs yesterday. But I'm not going to get into that. Sorry I apologise.

11:41Mike Minogue:It wasn't racist. Whenever you say those words it sounds racist. Oh, right. Sweet. Good shit. Let's go to a break. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

11:56Keyzie:Yes, indeed, Radiohead there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday. It's Wednesday. Oh, Wednesday afternoon. Live from Emerson's Brewery in Dunedin, but right now it's time for What's on the telly with Mike Minogue.

12:18Mike Minogue:Yes! So good, man. So good, man. A couple of days off sick there, Phil. So I was watching Gone on 3 now. It's the story of a man whose wife goes missing. Apparently, we've talked about this before, but when I watched it the first time, the main character in it, he's a headmaster at a private school. He's very well-to-do gentleman. and he's in his sort of mid to late 60s, I'd say. They're both elderly, him and his wife who's gone missing, elderly. Then when the policeman was asking for the wife's date of birth, the husband gave the same date of birth, same birth year as me, 1976. And they're elderly.

13:01But they're elderly. Yeah, they're really old, man. And that shocked me because that would mean that I'm elderly. So immediately I'm pissed off at this TV show. Old Mogey. Old Mogey is old. Yes. So I'm fuming. Anyway, I've put that behind me. I've watched four episodes of it. His wife's gone missing. Spoiler alert, she's turned up dead. Yeah. Not good. It looks like the husband's probably done it, but has he? I'm actually thinking it might be the daughter, but we don't know.

13:24Keyzie:And can I ask, Mogi, do you turn up dead? Do I turn up dead? Yeah, because, you know... Who, Moby? Well, yeah, Moby. Old Moby. Old Moby. Yeah. Because when you're dead, you don't really turn up anywhere, do you? I know, that's what they say though, but she's turned up dead. Right. When they found her, when she turned up, she was dead. Right, okay. So she's turned up dead. Great stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And just down the road from Old Mate as well, the husband, so it's not looking good for her.

13:54Mike Minogue:Last night, fellas, my wife and I decided to branch out from what we're usually watching.

13:59Keyzie:Oh, thank God.

14:00Mike Minogue:So on TVNZ Plus, we fired up the New Zealand version of Location, Location, Location. And one thing I've noticed with the New Zealand version of those shows is at the end it goes, oh, do you want to buy the house? And they go, yeah. Do you want to put your offer in? It's like, yeah. And then at the end it's like, neither of the couples got the house. Yeah. Every episode is like that. So I don't know whether it's like a UK, New Zealand thing, but look, three buzzies out of five, still like looking at houses on the television. Yeah, man. TVNZ Plus recommend.

14:31Keyzie:Great stuff. Well, I had a bit of a date night with my wife last night because she knew I was coming down to Dunners. So we'd like to do something special before we get on the road there, Moggy. So I watched the latest Ryan Gosling movie. Oh. Project Nail Mary.

14:50Mike Minogue:Nail Mary?

14:51Keyzie:Yeah. Project Nail Mary. Nail Mary. I tell you what, she's erotic. Isn't it Project Hail Mary? No, no, it's Project Nail Mary.

15:02Mike Minogue:Oh, that's the one starring Ryan Gosling.

15:05Keyzie:Yeah.

15:09Keyzie:Who played Mary?

15:15Keyzie:How many buzzies do you give us? I'm never good with names, Mogi. Oh, look, I give it the full five buzzies. We went home last night after that, and I can tell you, there were some fireworks in the old CBD apartment of Hoorayjay.

15:29Mike Minogue:Good stuff. Here's Queen's Stone Age. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki. It's time for... Welcome back.

15:39Keyzie:Hey, hey. Magic Round 3 beat. Let's put another mad bastard on the bench. Yes. Yeah, good stuff. It really brings the energy, doesn't it, there, Steve? It certainly does. It does all the work.

15:52Mike Minogue:Hey, we've got a text here on 3483. Keep coming, by the way. Who's it from, man? Steve. Steve. Yeah, good. He says, hey, fellas, what's all this I'm hearing about Magic Round? What's that about? Jeez, that's a great question, Steve. Kesey, tell them all about it. Yeah, sure, why not? Well, it's three nights, Steve. You're over there in Brisbane. You're with us. You're with boysstrip.co.nz, and we are watching eight games of Rugby League at Suncorp Stadium. We're hitting Caxton Street. We're going to the Caxton Hotel. We're up till 4 a.m. Jase won't be there because he hates Rugby League, but pretends he doesn't.

16:23Mike Minogue:It is bloody epic.

16:25Keyzie:Yeah, it is going to be epic. Just a reminder, we're going to draw the winner of that next Friday. Is that next Friday? Next Friday. So you've got to get in there when you get an opportunity. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Hayden, your man. Bastard, how's life?

16:39Mike Minogue:Oh, so good, fellas.

16:42Keyzie:Good on you, Hayden. Are you hungover there? Nah, nah, not at all. Nah, nah, nah. Nah, you're a good man. Tell me, Hayden, what do you do for a crust, mate? I'm a champion. Oh, backbone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, nice. And if you happen to win this competition, mate, who do you reckon you'd take with you?

17:00Mike Minogue:I think I'd probably take my brother-in-law. Oh, yeah, what's his name? Oh, Matty, Joy. Oh, Matty, yeah.

17:08Keyzie:He's a shocking bastard. He's a piece of shit.

17:10Mike Minogue:Is that the one with the tiny downstairs? Yeah.

17:13Keyzie:How do you know he's got a tiny downstairs?

17:16Mike Minogue:Because, no. Let's not get into it. Let's not get into it.

17:20Keyzie:Hey, Hayden, say on the line, mate, you're in the draw. G'day, Mike, you mad bastard. How's life? Awesome. How are you? Yeah, good, thanks, mate. Where are you calling from, Mike? I'm calling from Chucha, Christchurch. Oh, yeah. How do we feel about Christchurch, Dunedin? Oh, yeah. A couple of guys are giving you the fingers, man. What are you going to do about it, Mike? Are you going to take that from the men?

17:45Mike Minogue:Oh, no.

17:49Keyzie:Drive here and step them out, man. Yeah, totally.

17:51Mike Minogue:Come on, Mike, don't take those fingers, man.

17:53Keyzie:Hey, tell me, Mike, what do you do for a cross, mate?

17:57Mike Minogue:Oh, you know, sell pornographic equipment.

18:00Keyzie:Pornographic equipment? You filthy bastard. it? That's shocking. That is terrible. You don't say that on live radio, Mike.

18:09Mike Minogue:What equipment do you need to do port? Other than the obvious stuff. To be fair, Mike, I like that, mate. Could you bring some of that equipment with you if you were to win this prize over in Brizzy? Yeah, lights, cameras, action. Yeah, now you're

18:25Keyzie:talking, you massive backbone. And finally, let's go to Nick. G'day, Nick, you massive backbone. How's life? Yeah, not bad, mate. Yeah, good thanks, Nick. Good thanks. Sal, what do you do for a cross, mate? Project management. Pardon? Your what? Your whisper. Project management. Oh, yeah. You're a backbone. Backbone. Backbone management. Who would you bring if you happened to win, man? Somebody that could hold their phone without bouncing it off the concrete? Yeah, I'm sure I could find someone. Yeah, good on you, mate.

18:58Mike Minogue:Hey, you're in the draw there, Nick, all right? You keep those fingers crossed, brother, all right? Can't wait to see him, Brizzy. Yeah, good on you, mate. That was a good one, man. Yeah.

19:53Mike Minogue:Yeah, that's right, Jase. Whenever we're on the road, and we are here in Dunedin today, celebrating Hazed and Confused, the delicious hazy IPA, which is celebrating 10 years, by the way. Whenever we go on the road, we like to go and basically choose songs that the locals hopefully respond to. Yes. It's about winning over the locals. That's right. We're going to be doing that next, just after 5 o 'clock. Also, a little later on in the hour, we're going to have a chat to Dave from Boys Trip, who just so happens to be here. He loves it to need in. He's the one organising the Magic Round Tour.

20:23Keyzie:I think he was saying, Keezy, that he was planning on giving away another five free tickets live today on the show. Yes, that's right, he was. I mean, that is amazing stuff. It really is. I mean, imagine it. If you see Dave give him a slap on the arse and he'll buy you a beer, he's like that promise. Yeah, totally.

20:42Mike Minogue:100%. He is also pretty wasted, so we'll see how that goes. Plenty more coming up after five, eh, fellas? Yeah, man. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

21:01Mike Minogue:It's the Haurahi Big Show's Friday Throbber. Wednesday.

21:06Keyzie:Oh. Douche, douche. Oh, damn it. Damn it. Yeah, welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Wednesday is going along very nicely indeed. We're live from Emerson's Brewery and beautiful, sunny, toasty, toasty Dunedin. And we made a decision a little while back, didn't we, fellas? Whenever we're on the road, we're going to do a live throbber. and we're going to let the locals decide who wins.

21:31Mike Minogue:Yeah, so basically how this works is there are no phone calls. Yeah. The locals here at the venue make noise. Whoever gets the most noise reaction for their song wins the Wednesday throbber.

21:42Keyzie:Yeah.

21:42Mike Minogue:Now, as part of this being fair, because we do usually have punishments for if you come last.

21:49Keyzie:I still think we should have some Jeopardy, but you fellas chickened out. But that's all G, man.

21:53Mike Minogue:Yeah, but Jase, explain what your Jeopardy was.

21:56Keyzie:Well, I don't know, like a shot of Tabasco sauce. No, no, no. I reckon whoever loses has to have a durry. Exactly.

22:05Mike Minogue:See, that is the kind of jeopardy you're trying to set up. I'm prepared to do that, man. Actually, whoever loses has to have a durry, all right? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

22:15Keyzie:Or, yeah. Can I just say, can I just say too, by the way, that the reason we do it anonymously is because Keezy felt that people deliberately voted against him so that he would have to do the terrible thing. Keezy went to the bosses and said it's not fair. Yes. So we're doing it this way now where it's completely anonymous. Now what we're going to do is we'll play them out, we'll give no clues as to who selected what song, and then we'll play a couple of tunes, come back and have the vote.

22:47Mike Minogue:Yeah, that's right. Okay, so Dilly, if you're Dilly, who's back at the Hauraki offices, up in Auckland, mate. If you're happy just to play sort of 20 seconds of each song, one after the other, and then we'll do some voting afterwards, all right? Here we go.

23:00Keyzie:Oh, yeah.

23:06Mike Minogue:Every time. What a tune.

23:22Jase loves that tune, man. What else you got there, Dilly? Oh, God.

23:46Oh, they're loving it, man.

23:48Keyzie:Oh, yeah, man. They're just the right amount of pissed. What did you choose?

24:00Keyzie:That's a shitter.

24:08Mike Minogue:Right, so you've got Scribe there, you've got a bit of Journey, and then you've got a random shitter. What we're going to do is we're going to go to a song. When we come back, the official vote will happen, and the loser, or do we make it the winner? No, the loser.

24:27Keyzie:The loser has to smoke a durry. And then after that, we'll have the result of our big poll. All right, here's some live.

24:35Mike Minogue:We'll be back soon. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

24:45Keyzie:It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday.

24:49Mike Minogue:Wednesday. Wednesday.

24:51Keyzie:Douche, douche. Douche, douche. Way too late.

24:54Mike Minogue:So you didn't even do it, Keezy. Come on, man. Well, because my job was to say Wednesday, and I also massively buggered that up as well. So we're live from Emerson's in Dunedin celebrating 10 years of the haze and confused Hazy IPA. Come on down if you're in the area. And we are doing the old win the locals over with your song choices exercise. 100 % anonymous. Yep. The loser of this challenge has to face down a pretty terrible ordeal. They have to go outside and have a durry. Now, it's also worth pointing out that I've been on the wagon all year. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it'll be bloody terrible if you bastards made me have a cigarette.

25:33I'd be spewing. Yeah, yeah, totally, man, totally.

25:36Mike Minogue:Yeah, I don't want that to happen. So don't let that happen to me, okay? I also have asthma. Asthma. So that's not how you say it. So if I was to lose and have to go and have a durry outside, you know, that wouldn't be good for me either. No. It's like I'm careening towards being back inside a bubble. Totally.

25:52Keyzie:Where I grew up. Yeah, well, look, I mean, I think in terms of Jeopardy, it's the most fraught one we've ever had. What have you got to lose, Jase? Oh, mate, I have got so much to lose. You haven't had a cigarette for six months. I have got my fingers crossed that I don't lose this basket. Is that why you're crossing them?

26:10Mike Minogue:I tell you that much. All right, so how this works is we've got Dilly back in Auckland who's on the buttons up there. He is going to play the same little snippet of all three songs. After the first wee snippet there, you guys who are here... We're going to have a reminder once first, Keith. Yes, that's right. So it'll play a song and then we'll get the... Oh, yeah, true. Normally what we do is we do the reminder so you'll hear each snippet one time more, each. Yeah, that's right. And then we'll say song one, song two, song three, and you'll cheer for each one. That's right. And then I'll get to have a dart.

26:39All right.

26:40Mike Minogue:All right, Dilly, take it away, brother.

26:57Next one there, Dilly.

27:15Keyzie:Oh, that's a shitter. That is terrible. We haven't tried that.

27:24Mike Minogue:All righty. You've heard the three offerings. The loser has to go outside and have a durry, so we've got everything to lose here, gentlemen. All right. Who would like to hear song number one, Scribe?

27:39Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah. Pretty good. All right. Who would like to hear song number two, Don't Stop Believin'?

27:49Mike Minogue:Oh, that's close. That is close. Who would like to hear song number three, A Random Shitter from Audioslave? Oh, what a bugger. Well, we know who's lost, but we don't know who's won. So, Jase, you lost.

28:09Keyzie:Seriously, man, I am gutted.

28:15Mike Minogue:Sorry, last time we did this, someone had to eat sheep testicles. And now you just get to go and have a durry outside.

28:22Keyzie:It is my worst nightmare come true, fellas.

28:26Mike Minogue:All right, we're going to have to do a tiebreaker between Scribe and Journey, all right? So one more time for Scribe.

28:34Mike Minogue:Right-o. And one more time for Journey.

28:40It's weird, isn't it? That's real hard.

28:42Keyzie:I don't think it is. That's real hard. The reason why the vote for Journey, and I don't know whose songs they are. I just want to point that out. But the reason why it sounds like such a good vote for Journey is because of all the high-pitched screaming that went on there, Keezer. You've got the females that are riding behind you there. Yeah, totally. So it's hard to tell. One more time for Scribe.

29:05And one more time for Journey.

29:07Mike Minogue:One more time for Journey. Scribe has absolutely knocked that out of the park. Oh, my God. Thoughts? Pugs. Make a decision, Pugs. Journey or Scribe? Journey. Journey. That's what happens when you get the... They're not happy, mate. When you get the female vote, you get Pugs on. That is what happens. That was so wrong.

29:30Keyzie:Look, I tell you what. you fellas argue it out. I'm just going to pop out the back here and pay my penance. Oh, yeah. Vietnamese camels. Bring it.

29:44Mike Minogue:Here's Journey. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Yes, indeed. Journey there. Don't stop believing. People were fuming on that one because they knew in the room that Stribe had won. Yeah. Absolutely filthy. Oh, sorry, sorry, Jason. Are you taking Mogey's side on this? No, no.

30:02Keyzie:No, look, I'm ambivalent. I'm just sucking up what I have to do soon.

30:08Mike Minogue:So if you've just joined us, we've done a, because we're on the road, we're live from Dunedin at Emerson's, celebrating 10 years to have hazed and confused the hazy IPA. And Jase has just lost the Wednesday throbber, which means his punishment is to go outside and have a durry. Yeah, man. Now, did he engineer this entire competition so that he could get back on the darts?

30:29Keyzie:No, man, I honestly felt that audio slave song was going to kill. What was it called again? Shadow of the Sun, yeah. Well, to be honest, it's on a par with everything else that you've chosen. It just happens that this time around you lost. Yeah, it's a bugger. But in some ways, Jase, you won. Yeah, well, look, I don't consider it a success, Mogi. And can I just say, when I enjoy the cigarette, I just want to go out the front here and have it quietly to myself. Absolutely. Just savour it. Yep, absolutely. I don't want to get, you know, people yelling and screaming at me. Totally. I'm just going to sit on a park bench and have a nice, quiet Vietnamese camel cigarette.

31:09Keyzie:That's right. So if you just want to have a... How many opportunities are you going to get to have a cigarette with Hoity J? No, Mogey. So when Jase just heads out in the front here, everybody that smokes cigarettes, and even those of you that don't, just go out with Jase there, have a cigarette with him, have a chit-chat about whatever you like. You can ask him questions about Moon TV, Cook the Man some eggs, late night big breakfast, whatever you like. Jase will answer all your questions while you have a cigarette together. Yeah, good on you, Jase. Well done, man. You've earned this. So you head out there now.

31:41And when you come back, we'll get the results of the big poll. We'll find out if you have to have another cigarette. Oh, God, I hope not.

31:47Keyzie:This entire show has just been engineered so that he can get back on the durries. No, no, I want to reiterate this. Just because I have a durry or two doesn't mean I'm back on them, all right?

32:01Mike Minogue:Okay, man.

32:02Keyzie:Whatever you need to tell yourself to go to sleep at night. Hey, pugs, rip those bastards open, mate. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, now you're talking. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Yes, indeed. The strokes there on the Radio Hauraki. Big show this Wednesday evening, live from Emerson's Brewery in beautiful Dunedin, fellas.

32:32Mike Minogue:Hey, Jase, yeah, if you're in the area, come on down. We are celebrating 10 years of haze and confuse the hazy IPA. Yeah, that's bloody good, man.

32:40Keyzie:Yeah, bloody good stuff.

32:41Mike Minogue:You just lost the Friday throbber.

32:43Keyzie:Yeah.

32:44Mike Minogue:Well, the Wednesday throbber, I should say. Wednesday, yeah, yeah. And as a punishment, you had to go outside and have a durry with how many people?

32:49Keyzie:Oh, there were a few people there. There was quite a crowd there. I went out there just to get a geezer. There would have been about 50 or 60 people each punching the dart. Yeah, yeah. Shocking bastards, mate. What concerns me about it, Jase, is you're meant to be a stopper. We're trying to go cigarette-free. Yeah, totally. Totally. I believe it's this year. And you encouraging the youth to smoke cigarettes. It is shocking. Hang on a minute, Jase, man. I think you've got a bloody cheek. And what I saw out there was an out-and-out disgrace. And that's why, Mogi, when I was handed the cigarette from Pagu Sun, I stubbed the bastard out on the ground before I even lit it.

33:31Keyzie:And I said, you young people, don't do it. Your breath reeks of durries. And my wife just texted me and said, don't you dare smoke a durr. And I said, darling, no way, Jose, not in my lifetime. Well, there was about 23 people. I tell you what, it was bloody tempting. There's 23 people out there with their phones out taking video footage of you, Jase. I tell you what really disgusts me about that. Bloody AI. You know what I mean? And you can, with the whole AI thing going on, you can do anything with that now. So I've got no doubt in my mind that some smart-ass little bastard out there is going to create an AI fake video of Hoity J punching a Vietnamese camel.

34:22Keyzie:And I am telling you right now, it didn't happen. It didn't happen. And so just don't do it. Seriously, seriously, fellas, it's a bloody terrible habit. I would never encourage anyone to do it. And that's why I hope that I'm a good example of, you know, people giving up the darts. Now, if you had have, in real life, actually punched a Vietnamese camel, the cigarette, not the camel, on a scale of one to five buzzies, how many buzzies would you rate it in terms of enjoyment? Oh, look, I don't know if you know this, Moggy, but I actually went to Vietnam.

35:09Keyzie:And I tell you what, because aren't they pugs? They're like$2 a packet over there. It's just crazy stuff. The old Vietnamese camel, beautiful. Beautiful. You would have liked it? Top quality. Not like your New Zealand camel, which is much heavier and denser. Now, of course, you've got a bet coming up in May. You've got to get off the darts. You've got to get off the vape. You know, you've just been out there around a lot of smokers. How's your confidence level for May in being able to give up, given you've got the will of a gnat? I tell you what, mate. I am so proud of myself because there was like 30-odd people out there, eh?

35:43Keyzie:There were 30 or 40 people. It keeps changing. All punching darts. And I was like, you mad bastards. I mean, what are you doing? You're young. You've got your future ahead of you. You can't afford that kind of nonsense. You're students. You know, put it down. Get rid of it. Right. So you lost the bet. I feel much stronger within myself. I feel really strong within myself that I can carry on this journey. Right. So you lost the bet. and the jeopardy was that you had to smoke a cigarette, but you're refusing to do that. Yeah, I am, Mogi, I am. And I tell you what, because we've got the bloody big pole after six as well, that's another situation that I'm going to have to overcome, but we'll deal with each thing as it comes along.

36:32Mike Minogue:Can I just give you my$100 now and just be done with it? Yes, please. It's$200, Keezy. Oh, is it? The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

36:44Keyzie:Yes, indeed, big there on the Radio Hauraki big show this Wednesday evening live from Emerson's Brewery in beautiful sunny Dunedin. If you're in the area, come on down and say g'day to the fellas. Now, fellas, you know that I'm going away tomorrow and Friday. I'm flying over to Aussie for a mate's wedding. You going to be all right, man? Yeah, I'm going to be fine, mate. You've got the air stewards looking after you, I hope. Yeah, yeah. They pin your little name on you and all that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

37:20Mike Minogue:Jase, Jase, Jase, Jase. They might let you hand out the lollies, man. Oh, how good.

37:28Keyzie:How good. And the issue that I have is, you know, because my wife has been fretting about this, you know, we've got to get them a wedding present. Right. Because I don't really care about presents, but my wife cares about presents. You don't care about the guy who's wedding it is either. I don't really care about the guy who's wedding it is. And to be frank with you, I don't see it lasting. So not only do I not care about wedding presents, I actually think it's going to be a waste of money anyway because I could see it dissolving after about six months, to be honest with you.

37:57Mike Minogue:Is that why you always get your wife a shit anniversary present? Because you don't see it going the distance. 30 years, Keezy.

38:04Keyzie:No, it's not. It's 29. Oh, is it? 29 years, Keezy. 29 years old Hoardy J's been married. So you got married when you were 10 is that correct? I know it's crazy. Isn't that illegal? Times were different back then. How old was she? Can we get back to the question at hand?

38:25Keyzie:I mean Keezy you're good with gifts. I mean he was my best mate from school. He was the best man at my wedding actually. Wow was he? Yeah he was the best man at my wedding. So I feel like I should get him something and I'm just a bit I don't know what to get him. So any suggestions from you, Backbones, would be greatly appreciated. What?

38:45Mike Minogue:Don't get distracted, Jase. Thanks for coming to me, first of all. Here's what I like to do when it comes to buying a gift. I do a deep dive on their social media. So you've got to get his Instagram, his Facebook. You've got to go through all his photos. In fact, and I know you're good at this, go through his partner's photos. Right, okay, yes. And a really good trick, too, to sort of save your progress is to like one of the photos. Yeah.

39:08Keyzie:Of his partner? Of his partner.

39:10Mike Minogue:So let's just say you're doing a deep dive. You're at her Bali trip in 2015. Well, funnily enough, I did do a deep dive on that.

39:16Keyzie:Yeah. Really? Well, yeah, because I didn't know much about her, you know what I mean? Yeah. There was a lot of side pussy shots, I noticed, but, I mean, I wasn't paying attention to that. It just seemed to be one of her propensities. So I was thinking maybe a bikini for her or something. Oh, for her? Yeah, yeah. Well, I mean, it doesn't just have to be about him, does it? Yeah. You know what I mean? I think traditionally you would stay away from getting lingerie or underwear or swimwear. Oh, okay. For the bride-to-be. Right. Normally you get something for the couple. Right, okay. So like a dilly or something.

39:49Keyzie:Yeah, like a dilly. Yeah. Right, okay.

39:52Mike Minogue:Sorry, so you're going to fly over to Ozzy there, hand out lollies, and then you're going to buy them a dilly. No, buy them a dilly before you go.

40:01Keyzie:Well, I was actually thinking, Kesey, because he got a box of the bastards at home. I do. I mean, you know, maybe you could, you know, you could. So you want me to lend you one of mine? Hang on. I'm just saying you probably don't need all of them. Actually, I do.

40:18Mike Minogue:I need all 17 of them. Right, okay. At once, okay? So no, you can't borrow one of mine. You have to splash it out, mate.

40:25Keyzie:Right. How much has a dilly put you back these days? I wouldn't have a clue. Oh, it puts me way back. What about a toast rack? A toast rack? Yeah, like one of those silver, yeah, okay, that's quite nice. Because they do like the sort of houseware kind of stuff, don't they? 100%. And often what they'll do is they'll say, hey, if you want to buy us a present, go to this place. That's right. You know, and buy. But I'm not doing that, man. Yeah. No, they're usually really expensive. That's true. And I don't want to splash out too much. Yeah. Yeah, it's tricky, man. It is tricky. I mean, how well do you know her?

41:00Keyzie:Well, as I say, I mean, like Keezy was saying, I've been through her Instagram. I've never met her. So I've got a feeling about her. You know what I mean? You have feelings for her. Well, no, I haven't got feelings for her.

41:11Mike Minogue:What you need to do, Jase, is get her something that says, hey, I'm Jase, and I've got feelings for you. Right, okay. So, yeah, I think that's the best way to approach this. Absolutely. Put that in a card. Put it in a card, and then fly over there with your wife, and then hand that to her. And then if that doesn't go down well, give her a dilly. Thanks, fellas. Let us know how it goes. Yeah, no, I'll send some pics on my Insta there. Yeah. Yeah, good stuff. Text us on 3483, man. You could win 50 bucks thanks to Toledo's. Yeah, good stuff. Do you like Guns N' Roses? Oh, not really. Oh. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy.

41:50Keyzie:Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Yeah, welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Wednesday's absolutely going off. As you're going to hear, we're at Emerson's Brewery and beautiful Dunedin on a pristine night. Still an hour of the show to go, so come on down if you're in the area. Incidentally, the big show is brought to you by Toledo.

42:11Mike Minogue:Yeah, that's right. Out with the old electrolyte brands. They've had their turn. Toledo's is here. Clean, mean, hydration.

42:23Keyzie:Toledo! They're loving it, man.

42:25Mike Minogue:So good.

42:26Keyzie:Absolutely loving it.

42:27Mike Minogue:Hey, fellas, what's the plan after the old live show here tonight?

42:30Keyzie:What are we doing? Well, I was actually thinking for... Oh, boy. I was actually thinking... Yeah. Because we were going to...

42:39Mike Minogue:Makes a change. Hey, goody. It's good stuff. You're all good, man. You go.

42:43Keyzie:We were thinking of having a pizza party at Hoity J's. In your hotel room. In my hotel room. I'm thinking we have a Thai party. Oh. You know what I mean? We maybe go Thai tonight. We have a Thai party. We have a Thai party at Hoity J's room.

43:02Mike Minogue:Jase, I don't know what the situation is with you and your wife and your relationship.

43:06Keyzie:She's listening to this, Keezy, and she's filthy with you, by the way. Oh, really? For giving me a cigarette. No, don't. Don't you dare. And saying that it's only 29 years that we've been married. It's actually 30.

43:21Mike Minogue:It's actually 29. I'm sorry, but you and your wife are both wrong. I've been keeping track.

43:25Keyzie:Right, okay.

43:26Mike Minogue:And also, do not blame me for giving you a dart. I am the only person trying to not, trying to keep you off the dart. Keesie, it's up to you to stop him from smoking. Why is that my job? It's a self-appointed role, brother. It is. It's the hardest job in the world, by the way. Well, you failed. And Jase, you've had one, and we've still got to get the results of the big poll in. Should Hoardy J have another dart? No. Another binding referendum, brother. I wonder how it's going to go. What I don't like here is that Jace has turned our show into a platform that generates durries for him. Yeah, sure.

43:59Mike Minogue:Look. No, don't. Don't applaud that.

44:04Keyzie:Yeah. These guys get it. If I had my choice, Kesey, we wouldn't be doing any of this. All right? I mean, seriously, I should read you the text from my wife after I went out there pretending to smoke a durry. Yeah. It wasn't pretty, fellas. Can I just say... And I am going... She's filthy with you too, Pugs. I'm going to Aussie tomorrow for two days and it's going to be a very, very awkward plane trip. I can tell you that much. You'll be getting duty free, though. Yeah, totally.

44:36Mike Minogue:Oh, well, she'll at least forgive you when she says how cute it is when you hand out all the lollies there. Yeah, that's true.

44:42Keyzie:Hey, coming up next, actually, we should decide the big pole. And I'm not being a dick here.

44:46Mike Minogue:Yeah. Because that's just what we do. Yeah. Well, actually, we're going to have a chat to Dave from Boys Trip, and then we'll do that.

44:51Keyzie:Oh, okay, then we'll do that. Pill jam? Yeah, why not?

44:55Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

45:01Keyzie:She-hard there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Wednesday evening, live from Emerson's Brewery in beautiful Dunedin. We've got a special guest on the show tonight, Dave from Boys Trip, you mad bastard. How's life? Good, thanks. Good, thanks, Jace. Now you're talking. I'll tell you what, man. People have been fizzing about this trip. They always do every year, don't they, fellas? To Brizzy for the Magic Round. How's it been at your end?

45:29Mike Minogue:Yeah, really good. Like, it's just such a good weekend. You don't, like, if you're a league fan, it's a no-brainer. Yeah, totally. Such a good weekend at Brisbane. And what you guys have done, promoting it. You guys have been there the last two years, obviously. We've been amazing. With bells on, Dave. Yeah, you know? Like we've been saying, since you guys have been going, the Warriors haven't lost. Yeah, totally, man. I know. Dave, be honest with us. Is it a positive relationship with the big show? For boystrip.co.nz, is it a positive relationship? Oh, for sure, yeah. Really? For the most part.

46:00Mike Minogue:That year where you guys decided you were going to stay an extra night and where to book your last-minute flights to come home the next day was quite stressful, but we got there. Well, that was great because what actually happened was it was a Sunday night. The Warriors were playing against the Panthers and it was a foregone conclusion. Hey, the Warriors are probably going to lose this. Oh, it's so many injuries. Depleted team. Panthers were stacked. The Warriors then won. Mogi literally lost his shit and kind of went like berserk, went super sane, and then turned around to you and said, hey, Dave, we're not going home tonight.

46:34Mike Minogue:Called Toddy, the boss of Hauraki. He agreed that we weren't going home, and then you spent half an hour on your phone in Suncorp Stadium trying to get us home the next day. Yeah, I missed most of the next game. I can't remember what that game was. But, no, you guys, I thought you were kidding when you first spun around and said, no, we're not going home. Mate, we won. I'd had about 20 beers. Responsibly. It just got better and better. And that was compounded off the back of a three-day weekend. And Hoity J snuck out of there. He was off to the airport.

47:01Keyzie:Look, I love my rugby league. I love it. But it was just time. Because what you don't know about that, Dave, is I had Mogey on one ear and I had Keezy in the other with that match against the Panthers, and it was a massive upset. Even I knew that. Both of those mad barsets screaming in my ears. It was time for Hoity J to go home after that. It was unbelievable. And then, of course, so then you're pissed up and you think we're going to party into the night, and we did, and we had that terrible behaviour. We said we were meant to literally go from the final whistle of that game to the airport, jump on a plane and come home.

47:40We said we're not going, we're drinking all night. Responsibly. And then we got rewarded for that bad behaviour by getting business class ticket time. Yes.

47:49Mike Minogue:I think that was all that was left. In fact, I love the way that you said, just book it. And I said, do you need to check with anyone? And you said, no. No.

47:57Keyzie:It's a done deal.

47:59Mike Minogue:To be fair with Mogi, he was straight on the phone to our boss at Hauraki, Toddy, and said, we're not going home. This is too awesome. And Toddy said, yeah, nah, good as gold. Yeah. And then he said, Dave, just book the tickets. Can I just also clarify that I was premium economy as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right. That was awesome. We should do that again. That was great. That's the issue with this is you get rewarded for bad behaviour.

48:20Keyzie:Dave, in terms of your sales, how are you going on that front? Is there still any spots available? Or is she all kind of booked out? Pretty much sold out.

48:28Mike Minogue:I think it's just one of those trips that gets bigger and bigger every year. Yeah. So, yeah, we sort of had to cap it this year. We've got a couple of seats out of Christchurch, a couple out of Wellington left. Right. Then that's it for the whole weekend. It's unbelievable, isn't it? Because I've got one of my best mates is coming. He booked pretty quickly, I thought, but Auckland had already sold out. I've got a mate from my brother-in-law is in Sydney. He'll be going up to Brisbane. So it's the sort of thing where we're not just going, oh, you should come because of this relationship. It's one of the best weekends that you can have away with your mates.

48:59Oh, yeah. 100%.

49:00Mike Minogue:Yeah, it really is. And, Dave, where does Magic Round rank for boystrip.co.nz? Because you guys do trips everywhere. where you go Bathurst, you go to the Grand Final, you're State of Origin, you're going to Formula One all over the world. Where does it rank in terms of, for you, who's been to everything, where does it rank in terms of excitement? It's definitely up there. Like, I think as a league fan, this and Grand Final would be... This and the Grand Final, yeah. If you're a Warriors fan, you might be waiting, you know, another, hopefully not, but hopefully... Another, like, two months or something?

49:31Mike Minogue:Yeah. It might be a while before you go to the Grand Final. How about never?

49:34Keyzie:Jase, stay out of this.

49:36Mike Minogue:How about never, Dave? But at least at Magic Round, you know you're going to see the Warriors. And you're going to see a lot of other leagues. And I think it's just the atmosphere. Like the Caxton Street, like Brisbane does it so well. I can't imagine another city in Aussie doing it the way that Brisbane does. So definitely right up there. So if you're a league fan, you haven't been to Magic Round, then you're missing out. The amazing thing about Caxton Street is it's absolutely rammed. It's pretty much 100 % men. Pretty much. It is, yeah. Everyone's booze. Everyone's on the punt. Everyone's stoked as well.

50:03But we never saw any trouble. There's no push and shove. There's no fighting. It's pretty amazing for Aussies who are well-known mongrels.

50:11Mike Minogue:They are. Yeah, they are. And I think it's almost like an early Wellington Sevens kind of vibe. Like, everyone's having a good time. And what I love is, like, all the old-school jerseys. Like, you literally go up and there's a jersey from the 80s. You haven't seen it. Like, an old-school Manly Seagulls jersey. You just go and chat. Like, it is a really good atmosphere. And, yeah, there's a lot of Aussie mongrels there. But they're well-behaved. And honestly, Dave from BoysTrip.co.nz, the only person who isn't a bad attitude on Caxon Street is Hoody J. And he's going to be there for a bit this year, but we're also going to allow him to go and do what he loves, which is...

50:42Mike Minogue:The strip clubs. The strip clubs, yeah. And looking at art galleries. Oh, yeah. And those sorts of things. But can I say a big thank you from the Horaki Big Show the last couple of years. Seriously, Magic Ground with you guys has been the best thing I have done in a bloody long time. And it always takes me a month to recover. but yeah, the recovery is, it's so great. Yeah, it is so great. Thank you so much. Oh, thank you guys. Like what you've done promoting this trip and every year just gets bigger and bigger. And I think a lot of that's to do with you guys. Punters love coming over. They love the league.

51:15Mike Minogue:They love hanging out with you guys. So thank you. And we like hanging out. We like sharing rooms and shit and spooning and all that. So all four of you guys are in this, in the one room. Good as gold. Good man. Good as gold. You've got a week and a half left, New Zealand. Get yourself in the draw to join us over there in Brisbane. Dave from boyschip.co.nz. Thank you so much for having a chat, man. Thanks, guys. Good on you. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

51:42Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Nirvana there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Wednesday night live from Emerson's Brewery in beautiful Dunedin. Fellas, we did an emergency big poll today. Yeah. because old Pugs aren't brought along as Vietnamese camel cigarettes. I was very keen for one, and he said no. So we put it to the people, should Pugs give Hoi Di J one of his Vietnamese camels?

52:11Mike Minogue:That's right. So right now on The Big Show, it is time for the result of The Big Pole. The Big Pole.

52:25Mike Minogue:Now, traditionally, the way the big pole has worked is we come in with a genuine topic that affects New Zealand as a whole. Absolutely, man. This particular one was tabled by Jason Hoyt. He brought it to the table. He tried to manufacture a situation where he could have a durry free from pugs using our radio show. And that makes me sick. It makes me sick to think that he's hijacked our show like that. Hijacking diplomacy. Yeah, 100%. But nevertheless, we've done it. It's been up on the Horaki Big Show's Instagram story for a few hours now. And would you guys like to guess what the result of the big poll is?

53:04Mike Minogue:I am hoping and praying, Keezy. It's an emphatic no. Now, what do we need, percentage-wise, for you to agree that it is a no?

53:13Keyzie:Look, I think we just go 50-50.

53:14Mike Minogue:But I mean, you know what I mean?

53:16Keyzie:what the people want is what the people want. Who am I to argue? If it was anything less than 90%, yes, I'd be disgusted with our followers and listeners.

53:25Mike Minogue:Right, well, prepare to be disgusted, Mogi, but not by much. 81 % of New Zealand 81 % of New Zealand thinks Hoi DJ should scab one of Pugs' Vietnamese camels. It's disgusting. It's disgusting. It makes me sick. So here we are. We're in a position where we find ourselves. Jase, you lost the throbber earlier on. The punishment was to smoke a cigarette. Here we are with the big pole, and now you have to smoke another one. You've gone six months without having any. Here we are. I'm not doing it, man. In the space of an hour, you will have had two. Jase, you're back on the dance, brother.

54:04Keyzie:I am not doing it, Moggy. I am not doing it. Thank you, Jase.

54:11Mike Minogue:How about instead of you doing it, I'll have it.

54:14Keyzie:How about instead of hoity J, Kesey has it. Yeah, I'll have it. Thank you.

54:21Mike Minogue:Thank you. Look, guys, I'd love to do it, but I've got asthma.

54:28Keyzie:Asthma?

54:29Mike Minogue:So that's not how you say it. So, Mogi? Yeah, no, I'm all good. I'm a little bit crook at the moment. I might have had something to do with it. So I'm going to avoid them. Jase, it is a binding referendum, brother. It's not up to you whether you want to do it or not. The punters have spoken, so it's time to get one in you, brother.

54:47Keyzie:Yeah, yeah. Well, we'll just see how we go, fellas. I'm having a few technical issues here. I can't quite hear what you're saying and so forth. So I tell you what. Don't wrap this break up early so you can go and have a durry. I'm not going to wrap it up early. Seriously, you should have read the text from my wife. she saw the video of me pretending to smoke a cigarette and she was filthy. So you're telling me that you're not going to go and have a cigarette because you're scared of your missus. Totally, man. Yeah, good on you, Jase. That's why we've been married for 29 years because I'm scared of her.

55:26Keyzie:It's actually 30 years, Jase. Oh, it's 30 years.

55:29Mike Minogue:By the way, if anyone just so happens to see Jase walk out the front of Emerson's here, feel free to join him just in case he's having another durry, all right? Head that way as well. In the meantime, Kings and Leon? Yeah, why not, man? The Horaki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Horaki. Lenny Kravitz on The Horaki Big Show. 20 minutes to 7 this Wednesday evening. Hoity J still outside having a durry. So, well, Keezy's stepped in. Sasha's just stepped in, but Hoity J is about to hop on. Here he is. Yeah, so Sasha has just come in and filled the headset. This is what happens when you do a live show from Dunedin, Jason.

56:10Mike Minogue:Totally, I know that, Kesey. And you're out the front punching darts, mate, when you're supposed to be doing your job.

56:14Keyzie:What an absolute shambles of a human. Can I just say, and it needs to be said, and I've got witnesses, I did not go and have a dart there. I will at some stage, but I didn't go and have a dart.

56:24Mike Minogue:Why is it that you need to start the sentence with, can I just say, I've got witnesses, I didn't have a dart? I didn't have a dart. All right. All right. I'm so proud of you, man. Thanks, man. What took you 20 minutes to not have a day out?

56:36Keyzie:I was having a vape. You were vaping. Yeah, I was vaping. What are we doing, fellas?

56:42Mike Minogue:Would you guys like to give out some advice? Oh, okay. Yeah, sure. Have you heard of a segment called Meet Paddy Nip 69? I think I have, yeah. Meet Paddy Nip 69. Get in touch. With the fellas. Good stuff. It's a real email address. I'm not joking. Meet pattynips69 at gmail.com. Get in touch if you ever need advice on anything. 100 % anonymous, and if we read it on the show, you get a prize. G'day there, fellas. Anonymous here. I'm after a bit of renovation advice. The missus wants to replace the ensuite vanity and shitter, which I believe means sink and toilet. Yeah. Which is a bit ugly, but not too bad, and I can live with it.

57:33Mike Minogue:On the other hand, I would like to use the money to knock out the wall between the kitchen and dining.

57:38Keyzie:Right. Okay, yeah.

57:40Mike Minogue:Make it more open plan. Yeah. Wondering if I should just dump her and sleep with her sister. Cheers, Anonymous. He's absolutely knocked it out of the park.

57:51Keyzie:Now, fellas. He's just answered his own question, hasn't he?

57:56Mike Minogue:I'm glad this question's come through. at meetpattynip69 at gmail.com because it's a location, location, location style question. Right. How can we add value to this property? Right. Is it better to spend the money replacing the big shitter and the vanity or do you make the living dining more open plan? Sure. Or do you hook up with the sister? Yeah. Well, I don't know if that's the third option or more of a side quest.

58:22Keyzie:Well, I don't know that that's going to add value to your property. Hooking up with a sister. We're probably going to halve the value of the property. Yeah, I was going to say, if you hook up with a sister, you're probably going to halve the value of your property. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean?

58:35Mike Minogue:How? How are you hooking up with sisters?

58:37Keyzie:No, I mean, if you did in that scenario hook up with a sister. Oh, you're going to have to split it in half.

58:42Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right, okay.

58:44Keyzie:You know what I mean?

58:45Mike Minogue:So you leaning for a new shitter?

58:47Keyzie:No, no. No, I'd hook up with a sister. Right. 100%. But it is going to cost you half the wealth of your home. Does hooking up with the sister make things more open plan, relationship-wise? Yeah, well, you'll be probably living outside for a while. Yes. That's good.

59:04Mike Minogue:Into or outdoor flow.

59:05Keyzie:Yes. Or in the garage, perhaps. Yes. No, it's tricky. He's opened it by saying he doesn't really want to do the bathroom, but my sort of point would be it's got nothing to do with what he wants. No. When it comes to home renovation, you've got no say whatsoever.

59:20Mike Minogue:That's funny, actually, Mogi, because I've fully renovated our house, our first house. out in West Auckland, my wife has chosen everything. Yeah. And I've just done all the work. That's right. And it looks great. Yeah. I've got a new shitter.

59:34Keyzie:Well, you need one after your midnight steamers. Jase,

59:38Mike Minogue:if you could just...

59:39Keyzie:Well, I'm just saying there's only so much punishment a toilet bowl can take, Kesey. And when you're hitting the dumplings hard every Wednesday and your spicy noodles, it's getting a thrashing.

59:53Mike Minogue:Do you remember, it was about three years, four years ago on the big show, I talked about how I had to upgrade my toilet. Yes. I got the Tornado V3000.

1:00:04Keyzie:That sounds about right. Does it really go down with a wish? Because it's having to deal with a lot of capacity.

1:00:11Mike Minogue:Totally, man. I'm glad we've come down this route again. I highly recommend a toilet upgrade. It rules. It's not going to add value, though. So if you want to increase the value of your house, making the living dining area more open plan, that's going to add value to your house.

1:00:26Keyzie:Okay.

1:00:28Mike Minogue:But if you eat a lot of dumplings and spicy noodles and you do midnight steamers, I highly recommend upgrading the big shitter. Where does that leave you with a sister? Yeah, no, definitely sleep with a sister. Hey, so if you need advice... Yeah, if you need advice... Meet Patty Dibs, 69 at gmail.com. We'll help you out. We'll probably flick you like a backbone shirt or something. Yeah, good stuff. Yeah, good stuff. Good stuff. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

1:01:09Keyzie:Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's the big show done and dusted this Wednesday night from the Emerson's Brewery in beautiful, beautiful Dunedin. And as always, fellas, what a special treat coming down to Dunn is, eh? Oh, what a beautiful place it is. It's a little bit cooler down here, but you get great people, don't you? You do. Backbones. And for any young ladies out there that are looking for a husband, come on down here. There's about 300 pissed animals that you can take your pick off. Just an incredible selection.

1:01:44Mike Minogue:It's kind of a shit selection, though. It's like going to one of those really bad buffets back in the day. They're all the same guy. Yeah, same guy copied and pasted about 300 times. Spoiler alert, he's Steve. He's a good dude, though. And I get on quite well with that same dude. But, Jase, well put, mate. Great to be down here at the beautiful Emerson's Bury. Oh. Oh,

1:02:09Keyzie:okay. Come on, man. You're all good. Okay. No, but seriously, it is always a pleasure to come down here. Thank you so much for listening to the show because we massively appreciate you taking the time to listen to us, us wounders. And a massive, massive happy birthday. A massive happy birthday to Emerson's Hazen Confused, which turned 10 years old. Get a few in you while you can. Responsibly. Responsibly. Now, also, just to let you know, because there are some animals out there, old Pug-san, as always at the end of a live show, we're giving up the free Connies. So if you need condoms, Pug-san's your man.

1:02:50Mike Minogue:To be honest, Jase, it doesn't matter whether you need them or not. He'll give them to you anyway, regardless. He's got to give it to you. Regardless.

1:02:56Keyzie:Hey, but listen, check out the Instagram, because there's a lot of stuff on there. Check out our podcast, by the way, because we do a podcast outro, which is kind of bonus material if you want some more big show. But from all the fellas down here, thanks so much. It's been a pleasure. Take care. We love you, Dunners. Woo!
