0:16Keyzie:Oh, g'day you mad bastards. Great to have your company on this beautiful Friday afternoon. It is the 19th of June, 2026. And you, my friends, as always, listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburger. Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries, and gourmet eats that will change the game. Reburger b****. Mogey, mogey, mogey you stallion. How's life mate? Going pretty grass you mad dog you sick son of a bee. Boy have I missed you fellas. Yeah man. Fellas? Fellas? I've missed you fellas. Ah thanks man. 0:58So congratulations It's unbelievable. It's great work. Great work, Keezy. And how are you going, brother? I see you've got your shiny hoodie on.
1:05Mike Minogue:Yeah. Is it actually shiny? It's a very new hoodie. It's your new hoodie. I've been worried about washing it because I want this hoodie to stay looking new for as long as possible. Yeah, it's tricky, isn't it, as well? And then they can also get a bit pilly. A bit pilly as well. But this one's in good nick, fellas. I'm in a great mood because after the show tonight, I fly to Christchurch. Up the Waz. Up the Waz. Because on Sunday, yeah, I'll be watching the Warriors take on the Cowboys down there at Takaha Stadium. I'm just pissed. How good, man.
1:27Keyzie:How good.
1:28Mike Minogue:I can't wait.
1:29Keyzie:What is that, four o 'clock Sunday afternoon? It's a traditional Warriors slot, and it's going to be a real treat to see them. I hope they win, man.
1:39Mike Minogue:Yeah, same. What's coming up on the show, Moggy? Oh, wow. What about you, Jase? How are you?
1:43Keyzie:He does this every time now. He doesn't care. He doesn't care how I am. Yeah. How are you, man? How are you going, Jase? Very well, thanks, Phil.
1:55What's happening on the big show with old Mogi. It's a shame. We're out of time, Jase. We have to catch up with you throughout the show. Sorry, mate. I've got to kick on. Hey, listen out. Later on in the show, well, at some point, it might be next, we don't know, an opportunity to get yourself involved in the X-Braw Ultra Bear Garden Tour. The Breakfast Boys Plus G-Lane are heading over to the NRL Grand Final in October. How good. Listen out for the Q2 call. You get yourself in the drawer. Friday day is Throbber Day Day. Yes. And coming up next, We've got a huge story, apparently, according to Keezy.
2:29Breaking news.
2:30Keyzie:It's probably going to be like five days old or something, knowing Keezy. Well, not five. Five years.
2:35Mike Minogue:Not five.
2:36Keyzie:So stay tuned for that. Jeez, I can't wait.
2:40Mike Minogue:Hey, by the way, if you want a shout-out, text Sue on 3483. Every text in the draw for 50 bucks worth of Reburger. His collective soul. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
2:52Keyzie:Yes, indeed. We'd blink 182 on the Radio Hodaki. Big show this Friday evening, but we've got breaking news.
3:03Mike Minogue:This is breaking news. Fellas, huge news out of the South Island region, which is in the lower half of New Zealand. Now, this isn't really breaking. This actually came through a few days ago, but it's just come across my news desk now. Yeah, that'll be right. Sounds about, yeah, accurate. A South Island bull, like a cow. Like a cow? No, it's not a cow. It's a bull. I thought a cow was like the breed of animal, and then you've got a bull, and then you've got a heifer. Isn't that how it works? That's exactly how it works, Keezy. Right. So is a cow a female? Yes. Oh, I did not know that. Is that true?
3:41Mike Minogue:Yes. Come on, man. A South Island bull, which is a male cow, sells for a record$168 ,000. for one bull.
3:54Keyzie:Obviously, then we're talking good breeder. Yeah, you'd think so. Good stock. So that'd be a stud, Keezy. Is that what that is? It is a stud. Mad rooter. It's got to be a stud. So they're going to unleash him into a paddock. Wait for it, Keezy. Of cows. It's just of cow.
4:15Mike Minogue:Cow is the plural of cow. There is no S on the end of cow. But$168 ,000, you're paying for an absolute stud of a bull. It's a record-breaking amount. I wonder what you're trying to breed, though. Are you trying to get more? What are you trying to get? Are you trying to get more bulls or are you trying to get more cows? You're trying to get fatter, bigger cows.
4:36Keyzie:I think what it is is the quality of the animal as opposed to the sex. In terms of what, though?
4:41Mike Minogue:Like backbone? He's a good bastard? Yeah, well, I don't know. Just reading here, apparently it being a good bastard is a big part of it.
4:47Keyzie:When I did a school exchange down to Cambridge and we went to an insemination farm. Oh, yeah. It was one of the most fascinating things I've ever seen in my life. You said it was the best day of your life. I loved it. You know how Keezy, and Jase has told me about this before, you know how you go and do these things and the person, sort of the expert in the field, sort of gets somebody to come up and volunteer?
5:10Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah. Poyty J couldn't get up there fast enough. Totally, man. Oh, is it the one you were saying that they didn't actually ask for volunteers but you insisted? Yeah, with a bull. You're a sicko. You're such a sicko. But yeah, it's just saying here the star bull stood out for its impressive size and quiet temperament. And the previous record was$161 ,000 from Gizzy. This one's come from down south and beaten that by seven grand. $168 ,000. So he's a big bastard. That's good coin.
5:40Keyzie:Does it have a name or anything? Or is it just bull? It doesn't say anything. I don't know if you'd name them, man. They're not a pet, are they? So probably, although... Well, you know, my uncle on his dairy farm used to name all his cows. Seriously, he did. He had names for all of them. Name us two of them. I don't know, man. It was like one of them was Daisy. I remember that. That's useless. That's dope. Daisy.
6:03Mike Minogue:150 kg. Wow.
6:04Keyzie:You know, fellas, because that seems like an obscene amount of money for me. I'd like to... Can we give Des Dalgetty a call, maybe? Yeah, good idea. What's that? Seems like a lot. 170... I don't believe that.
6:16Mike Minogue:Well, actually, it would be good to get a call from Dez, who is our rural correspondent, so he can explain what they're paying for and why this bill went for so much. Yep. We'll do that next. In the meantime, do you like Green Day? Yeah, man. The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
6:40Keyzie:Audio Slave there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this beautiful Friday evening. Now, we just had some breaking news in the previous voice break about a record-selling bull at$168 ,000.
6:56Mike Minogue:That's right. It sold earlier this week. It's the priciest bull ever sold in New Zealand,$168 ,000, as you said, Jase. It was actually your idea to get a rural expert on the show to talk us through why it costs so much. Yeah, and so whenever we've got any questions for the rural community there or anything related to it. We talked to our old mate, Dez Dalgetty. How you going, Dez? Yeah, not bad, mate, eh? She gets a bit bloody chilly in the winter, mate, eh? But no point complaining, eh?
7:23Keyzie:Yeah, well, especially when you're out in those back paddocks, Dez. I know she blows where you are and she can get... Yeah, she blows, all right? Well, at least she used to, if you know what I mean. I'm freaking about putting myself in the back paddock, mate. Oh, no, Des, I won't hear a word of it, mate. You've still got plenty of years. And, you know, Des, we were just chatting in the show here about a record-selling bull, the highest-ever-selling bull in New Zealand history that sold at the market for$168 ,000. Des, do you know the bull we're talking about? Oh, mate, isn't she a bloody beauty?
8:02Oh, he's a handsome fella, mate. I'll tell you, that's what dreams are made of. Mate, you get yourself your hands on a ball like that, you're pretty bloody happy, I tell you what, mate. Huge bloody knackers on the bastard, eh? So when you're buying a ball like this, what exactly are you looking for, Dez? What are you paying for? Oh, knackers, yeah. You want him to be a bit of a good bastard as well, eh? Because, you know, you want the temperament to be pretty good because you're sort of hanging around the back door and the back hand there and that. Wow. You know, you don't want to get your head kicked off, mate.
8:37You know what I mean?
8:39Keyzie:Yeah, right.
8:39Mike Minogue:Yeah, well, they got a bloody kick on them, that's for sure, Des. Des, what are the bulls actually used for? Is it purely for breeding? Is that what they're for? 100 % Christopher. You're nailing it there, brother. You're hitting the nail right on the head. These guys, they'll get over the top of maybe 60 to 100 of your heifers a year, mate. That's a bloody busy time, eh? And so it's mostly your shagging, and they've only got a few years left in them, eh? So you might get two to five or six years and they're just absolutely pounding away. Yeah, right. Yeah, yeah.
9:14Keyzie:And say, yeah. Now, you must be... Say, yeah. You all right there, Dez? Dez, listen. Hey, yeah. If I'm right... Dez, am I right in saying you're about a month or two away from carving season? Aye. You're about a month or two away from carving season. She's a busy time on the farm. Hey.
9:37Mike Minogue:Sorry, Dez. What he was asking is, is it carving season coming up soon? Day and day. Right, well, let's just move on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Day and day. Dez, Dez, what's the priciest bull you've ever sold or purchased in your life? 300 bucks, mate. Take it as it is, brother. Come and get the bus. No, no. No, I'm not saying I want to buy one, Dez. is just asking what the most, the expensivest one that you've had sold. That's what I'm telling you, Christopher. That was the best one I ever had, and he was shut out. Right. Yeah, what a goose was passed.
10:12Keyzie:I remember you telling me about him, actually. He only had three legs, didn't he? Yeah, three legs and one nut. Yeah, yeah, good stuff. Well, Des, thanks very much for your expertise, mate. You take care. Dianne. You take care on the farm there, Des. Don't get a chill, mate. He killed away that bastard he wanted. All right, good on you, Dez, man. Thanks, Dez. Catch you later. Dez giving us Dez anyway. All right, fellas. Okay, thanks, Dez. All right.
10:39Mike Minogue:See you, man. All right. Thanks, Dez. All right, that was Dez Dalgetty, once again, our rural correspondent. Whenever we need advice on sort of rural affairs. This is not so bad, Pastor. Sorry, Dez. 168 drinks. Sorry, Dez, can you hang up the phone, mate? Sorry, we're done. Have a good one. Once again, Dez Dalgetty. I'd love to get my hands on those, Pastor. I'll tell you what I'll do with those. All right. Bye, Des. Bye. See you, Des. All right, got to go, fellas. Okay. Oh, a couple of them be a bloody ball. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Let's see who's joining Gerian Manaya on the Export Ultra Grand Final Bear Garden Tour.
11:22Mike Minogue:Yeah, one hell of a prize that is, fellas, one hell of a prize. What's your favorite part of the prize, Jase? Is it the tickets to the Grand Final NRL?
Read the full transcript
11:30Keyzie:Yeah, that's a big part of it. But, of course, you know, when you look at the prize in general, there's a lot going on. There's the races, there's the boat cruise, there's all sorts of stuff happening.
11:39Mike Minogue:We're on a hell of a weekend in Sydney, Mogey. Flights, five-star accommodation, the only downside being you are going with Gerri and Minaya and G-Lane. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, it could potentially end in heartbreak with the curse, the walking curse, G-Lane being in attendance. But just take your fun where you can get it while you can. Yeah, totally. And that's obviously if the Wars are there, G Lane, we will be stopping him from going. But if the Wars aren't in the grand final, then he can go. That's fine. Yeah, that's fine.
12:05Keyzie:We don't really care. Well, I mean, we care, but we, you know, yeah, fair point. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Gavin, you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah, not too bad, you old dingers. How you going? Yeah, not bad, Gav. Hey, you're stoked it's Friday? Oh, mate, I'm bloody rip-storted about it. Going to go home and drink some beers. Yeah, good on you, you massive bad guy. Speaking of which, what do you do for a crust, Gav? I'm a hammerhead. Oh, yeah. How are you? You mean. Backbone. Backbone. Tell me, now, listen, we don't want good people going on this trip. We want people that are going to ruin it for, you know, Lane and Jerry and Mania.
12:40Keyzie:You reckon you're up to the job, Gav? Oh, mate, I can give it as well as I can take it, yeah. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, mate. Well, good news for you, man. You're in the draw, stay on the line, and Pugs will look after you. Awesome. Thank you. Thanks, mate. G'day, Liam, you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah, good, thanks, fellas. How are you? Yeah, good. How's Chicha today? Chicha's pretty good, actually.
13:04Mike Minogue:She's pretty sunny. Actually, how's it looking, Liam, ahead of the weekend, man? I'm coming down for the waz. Are you? It's going to be on. It's going to be amazing, man. Are you going to go to the game? Yeah, but I'm taking the kids to the game. How good. How good.
13:18Keyzie:Hey, Liam, what do you do for a crust? I'm still a builder. Oh, you're still a builder. I've got to say, Mogi, that is now, I think, six in a row. Six builders in a row. Six builders in a row we've had. The last bloke was a hammer hand. Yeah, well, that's kind of a builder. He's got a hammer in his hand, yeah. He's got hammers for hands. Yeah, totally. Liam, do you like a few beersies, do you? Yeah, mate, yeah. Yeah, good. If you won this competition, man, who would you take with you? It would be tough with either the missus or the brother. Ah, yeah. Is your missus hard work, man? Because that's what we're looking for on this trip is just people that are going to absolutely punish the fellows there.
14:01Keyzie:Yeah, it'll be hard work for them. That's just good one. Yeah, yeah. Good on you, mate. All right, Liam, you're in the draw as well, mate. Sound the line. I'll park someone to look after you. No worries at all.
14:08Mike Minogue:Yeah, beautiful. Good stuff. Once again, you go to Sydney there, five-star hotel flights, races, harbour cruise, grand final, then you come home after three nights.
14:16Keyzie:Yeah. I was saying, Mogi, I'm actually flying into Sydney on that day. Oh, yeah, I know. You've told me. I was disgusted because it's like, oh, God, I hope it's not going to be really busy. I know, yeah, yeah, you're complaining. You know what I mean? It's like, oh. Yeah, you're on a holiday, but you're a few months out, you're already moaning about it. Yeah, it's just like, come on, man. I had to pick that. I might actually look to change my flight. Just don't go at all, man. What's the point? Why don't you change your attitude, man? It's easier to just change his flight. Maybe I'll just book a cruise or something.
14:43Keyzie:No, you won't. Yeah, you know, a boat cruise. No, you won't. One way. Here's the Arctic Monkeys. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Yes, indeed. L-M-N-O-P. I've got to say it fast. It's the only way, Fields. You nailed it, bro. But right now it's time for TV chat. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue?
15:10Keyzie:Yeah. Are you in a hurry or something, Keezy? You have been firing off today.
15:16Mike Minogue:Jase, you always go, right now it's time for, and then I play the sting. But today you went, right now it's time for TV and you keep going. Yeah, right. So I just freaked out and hit go. Guys, I just want to give a quick shout out to old mate Daniel. Oh, sorry. Not Daniel. Donald. Not Donald Trump, Jase. Who? For always pushing through with what he needs to do. I'm proud of you and I love you. And that's from Lucy. Aww. Okay. And then another shout out here to the guy that complains that we always ask for shout outs and then we never read them out. Aww. So shout out to that. Well, we'll read shout outs next.
15:46Shout out to that guy. Yeah, I think so. I watched over the last couple of nights, I watched Brokenwood. The Brokenwood Mysteries, fellas. I think it's season 12, episode 6, possibly I watched. I believe so. May have been, and geez, what a show it is. This one was very Ray heavy. Now, Ray is playing. Hang on a minute. Ray Romano, or Romano Ray as he's called in this episode. because he's opened himself a new trattoria, if I can call it that. Yes, trattoria. An Italian restaurant. No, his name is not. In this episode, Casey. And so there's a reason behind it. You have to watch the episode. But he's got an Italian restaurant.
16:36He has Italian food with Italian entertainment. I don't want to ruin it for you, but right at the very start, someone is murdered in Ray's not restaurant, Trattoria. And the implication is that maybe Ray has had something to do with it. He is cleaning up the murder scene. He's trying to protect his sister, his mother, all sorts of things going on. And so for the vast majority of the episode, Ray is locked up. And I don't know, man, I don't know why you did that because you shouldn't be cleaning up murder scenes. I agree.
17:12Keyzie:I agree. Very shocking, Bastard. I mean, talk about guilty. Yeah. You know what I'm saying, fellas? Well, did you do it or not, man? I don't want to give away the storyline, Tusey. Fair enough. Well, it was pretty bad behaviour, I thought. But all in all, what a hell of an episode that he had. Hoity J at the start of it, he's driving around in this weird little wagon, some kind of a milk delivery van or something. It's a three-wheeled, like, Italian truck. Yeah, he stalls it. He is an absolute shocker, and I could not help but get the feeling that that was not deliberate. that that was just Jase trying to drive his little car to the front of the shop.
17:48Is that right? True story.
17:50Keyzie:Totally. It is the most horrendous thing to drive. And I saw that and went, oh, why are they using that bit? That is just genius. And then I went, oh, no, fair enough. It was so good. There was a bit of the old, there was some really good, Ray Nielsen is his name, isn't it, Jase? Yes. A few of your lines here, the old Ray Nilsen razzle dazzle. You don't need to talk yourself up. You're pretty proud of the fact that your restaurant had a C plus hygiene rating. And the passcode for your alarm and your business, which is pretty much, I'm pretty sure is the same as you've got on your phone, is 5678.
18:29I really enjoyed it. It's the first time I've ever watched a Broken Wood mystery. My daughter absolutely loved it. Yes. She just wanted to make sure that it wasn't actually a murder, that this isn't real, but she was really enjoying that you were on the screen, trying to wrap her head around acting and actors and that you're not like that in real life. Yes. So, genuinely, an enjoyable watch? Yeah, absolutely. I mean, it's great because Jace was in it. And God, he's a miserable bastard, your character. I don't know if he was like that specifically for this episode because he was accused of murder.
19:00But, jeez, he wasn't happy. He wasn't happy, all right.
19:03Mike Minogue:Because I've never watched it, but it's got a massive following internationally. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Look, don't get me wrong. It's not like, what would you say? It's not like True Detective or anything like that. She's a pretty easy watch. But my parents love it. Oh, yeah, I can absolutely see why. Yeah, right. You chuck it on. Sit down with a cup of tea. Yeah.
19:22Keyzie:Yeah, and interesting, I was telling Kesey yesterday, I bumped into these two young American girls walking on the street the other day, and they were like, oh, my God, we've just arrived in New Zealand. Are you on Broken Wood Mysteries? And her and her mum had just watched it the day before. or something. He said, can I have a photo? And I was like, yeah, totally. How good? How many buzzies out of five?
19:42Mike Minogue:Oh, five out of five buzzies. Unmissable. And that's on TVNZ+. Get it in you. I have to watch it now. I really want to watch it. That's the latest episode, I believe.
19:50Keyzie:Yeah, and he is pretty miserable, old Ray. Oh, he is. He's effing, man. Jeffing a lot. I don't know how you got the roll, Jase, because it's completely against type.
20:01The Hauraki Beat Show with Jase, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

Basically each of the fellas here in the studio We pick a song to kick off your Friday night celebrations Your weekend celebrations That's right Then you give us a call on 0800 Hauraki and tell us which song you want to be the Friday Tromper. Yeah. Absolutely correct. And this week the theme is fire. I'll go first. I've gone with Prodigy Firestarter. Excuse me?
20:48Mike Minogue:Have you guys not gone with a theme? There is no theme, Mogi. Don't.
21:02Mike Minogue:That is the Prodigy Firestarter. tune.
21:06Keyzie:That is so weird, Mogi, because today on Instagram I was watching a reel and it was them live in concert performing that show. Jeez, it was good. Oh, it's unbelievable. You'd be mad to pick anything else. Should we just go with that? They just went hammer and tongs, those fellas. They do. Best live gig I've ever seen. Those bastards. Crazy stuff. What did you choose, Jase? I chose a song that was in Keeper. It was a theme for my week.
21:36You can't make those hand signals, Jay.
21:44Mike Minogue:Coolio, Gangster's Paradise. Yeah, man. Big chain. Jay, you better bring this home, Casey, because... Well, there's only one song, there's only one band that can smoke both the Prodigy and Coolio, and that is Hinder.
22:04Sometimes I wish she was you I guess we never really know Frank's isn't happy He hasn't been happy He's been about a year Saying my name It sounds so sweet You've already chosen that before, eh? No Bit of teen rock
22:25Mike Minogue:Good stuff 20 years old, that song now Is it? I remember when that came out And it took over the charts When I was at high school Great stuff, man Absolute belter What kind of clothes were you in at that point? Did you have your beaded hair then? No, I would have had a backwards flat peak cap. Yeah. Heaps of acne and a massive honker. NBA singlet, heaps of acne and a massive honker.
22:47Keyzie:You decide, New Zealand. Give us a call right now on 0800 Hauraki. In the meantime, here's the Rack on Tears. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki. It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday Throbber. Douche, douche. Yes, indeed, the Friday Throbber. The fellas have fired them off. The people have called our 800-Hauraki, and so it begins.
23:17Mike Minogue:Yeah, whose song is going to get voted by the audience, picked, and then set the tone for the weekend? Jeez, we're selling the hell out of this bastard. Yeah, totally, aren't we? Here's a bit of Firestar. It's got a huge head on it, sadly, which means we don't get to the good bit, but everybody knows it. True, man. Pugs doesn't like it. He hates it.
23:41Douche. Right, everyone knows it. What have you got there, jizzbot? Gangster's paradise, man. Should've.
23:47Keyzie:As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I take a look at my life and realise there's nothing left Cos I've been rassing and laughing so long that In my mama thinks that my mind is gone. You never cross a band. Maybe treat me like a fool. You know it's on her love. That's a tune, man. That is a tune. It used to be. Not at three o 'clock in the morning right outside your window, it's not. Or five in the afternoon on a Friday. What have you got there, Keith?
24:14Mike Minogue:I can't just fire off shots at our songs. I fired one off at mine. Well, good luck firing one off at this absolute tune. It's Hinder. Well, my girl's in the next room. Sometimes I wish she was you I guess we never really knew Yeah, man. Listen up to that one.
24:35Keyzie:I feel like it's a song that I imagine like a teenage drama. 100%. 2005, I believe that came out. I used to sing the hell out of that. I was probably a teenager as well, Keezy. Yeah, yeah. What? That's good stuff. How does that work? Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Dan, you mad bastard. How's life? Oh, g'day, Taylor. Yeah, good on you, mate. What are you running with there, Dan?
25:04Mike Minogue:It's pretty easy. I'm going to go with the youngest member of the show, so Jase. Yeah, man. What? Thanks, man. Good choice. Thank you. 40 J easy. That is so confusing, Dan. Good on you, Dan. It's because Dan's a teacher.
25:17Keyzie:All right, John, how's life? Oh, pretty damn good, mate. Yeah, good on you, John. What are you running with there, John? Something I never thought I'd agree with. I have to go with Horty J. Wow. Wow. Yeah. Wow. I'm 60 years old and I still get down to Prodigy. Yeah. Wait, wait, wait. Hang on. Do you want Prodigy? Do you want Firestarter by the Prodigy? Yes, please. Okay, that's Mogi, brother. That's Mogi. Oh, that was close. Bloody hell. So close. Wait, wait. Should we double check he didn't mean Hinder? Yeah, we better find him. G'day, Kurt, you man, Bas, and how's life? Yeah, not too bad. How are you, fellas?
25:55Yeah, good.
25:56Keyzie:Thanks, Kurt, mate. What are you running with there, Kurt? Well, Mogi was the only one on theme. Yeah, that's true. Oh, there is no theme.
26:06Mike Minogue:Kurt, don't you encourage this. Good on you, Kurt. I don't know, Mogi. All right, so that's two votes for Mogi. Good on you, Kurt. Thanks for playing. Asterisk. Asterisk. 100%. How can I forget asterisk? Because he said there was a theme. He was joking, Kurt. Were you joking? Kurt, were you joking? He's still there. He's still there. Kurt, Kurt, were you joking? Nah, mate. Prodigy. Righto.
26:35Throbber. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
26:40Keyzie:Yes, indeed. The Prodigy there, your Friday, Throbber. The time, 5.16.
26:46Mike Minogue:Did you just short-circuit there for a bit?
26:49Keyzie:No, I was thinking about what I was going to say next. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. And what did you go with? The time is 5.17. Far out of minutes. Seven.
26:58Mike Minogue:Minutes passed already. That is a huge throbber win for old Mogus. Yeah. Which means he is way out in front on nine wins for the year. In second place, Keezy on eight wins. Wow. In third place, a.k.a. last, Hoidi J with five and asterisk and a hashtag D. And a D. Jeez, that was so close too. Can I say it's not a hashtag D, it's a massive D. Okay, massive D. Yeah, massive D.
27:23Keyzie:No, because he'll lean into that. We were about to go to my throbber. Yeah. And then he went, you know, I'm 60 and I still love the Prodigy. Yeah. And I was like, oh, hang on. That's right. He mistook me for you. He called me Woody Jizzbot. Yeah. What? Yeah. Yeah, he did. He did. It happens quite a lot, actually, Keezy. It does. We get mistaken a lot, Mogey and I. We do.
27:46Mike Minogue:It's like me and Sonny Bill. Sonny Bill Hojepa. What? Hey, there's a lot of texts on 3483. People loving the throbber. Like this one here. Someone take Chris out of the back paddock and give him a... Never mind. Choosing Hinder. Keezy, what a wound. Keezy has struck a rich vein of divorced dad rock with Creed and Hinder. Yeah. Next week will be Stained, It's Been A While, which is a tune, by the way. It is. It is a good tune. I like that tune. Adam asks whether Jez listens to Coolio on his skull candies while walking through the CBD. Have you ever done that? Yes, I have.
28:23Keyzie:Really? I did it this very day, except I don't have, of course, my skull candies anymore. What happened to them? Oh, they just, I lost them. Yeah, I think they did fall to bits, actually. Yeah, yeah, God knows. I can just imagine you walking through the city with Gangster's Paradise playing in your headphones there and a real look of attitude on your face. Do you know what I was listening to, actually, what I've been listening to most of the time, fellas? You'll find this very funny. I've been listening to. He's just got his phone out. He's picking his phone up and trying to work out how it works.
28:58Keyzie:Introduction to the Shalong spirit. Is this Wu-Tang? What do you got? It's like martial arts meditation. Introduction to the Shalong spirit. Yeah, man.
29:08Mike Minogue:Are you kidding? How good. Shaolin? Shaolin, yes. Why did you say Shalong? I didn't say Shalong. Yes, you listening to the introduction to Shalong. Fellas, I just want to say, yeah, you have, you know, there's another text that's come through here, 3483, saying that we've lost the spirit of the throbber. Right. That's a bit of a, you know, Kesey has gone with another sort of more of a ballad, like a sad ballad, crybaby ballad. Would you agree with that? No, it's kind of what it is, right? It's a heartbreak, teenage. But it's also a massive sing-along. It is a sing-along, absolutely. So if a sing-along is a throbber, we're fine.
29:45But people are bagging us week in, week out now. on our choices. And this happens every few months, every week, really.
29:51Mike Minogue:Well, the thing is, though.
29:52Keyzie:Yeah, I think we should can it.
29:54Mike Minogue:No, James. I think we should call it now. No, you haven't won a Throbber yet, a year-long Throbber competition. You haven't won one yet. And nor will I. No, you won't. But the issue is, we pick Throbbers every – we can't just go Rage Against Machine and Prodigy every Friday, even though Moggy kind of does. Like, we have to – there aren't that many bands that actually make Throbbers. It's hard, isn't it? Bloody hard. It's tricky. So it's kind of a situation – and also, people phone up and vote for them. You know what we should do? If people think it's so bloody easy, next week we should get people to text through a throbber.
30:21We each have to choose one of the throbbers to get texted through. Okay. And then we'll see how we go. Maybe that'll give us some fresh blood. I think we should can it. I bet you do.
30:30Mike Minogue:We can also get people to call through and nominate a throbber rather than text so we can actually bag them if it's a shitter. You know what I mean? Yeah.
30:36Keyzie:This is what we do. We take the throbber idea out to the back paddock. Right. And we leave it there, all right? Just to just do its own thing quietly in the corner. Nah, man. Hey, speaking of throbbers, rage? Shit, shit, man. Why not? The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Yes, indeed. Gorilla's there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening. The time is 5.28. Now, usually on a Friday, we do the Friday shout-outs, right? Shout-out Friday. And people send in their shout-outs. And someone sent a text before, and it was bang on the money.
31:14Mike Minogue:It was. It was from Mike. He said, I love how you fellas are like, hey, text some shout-outs and then just completely ignore them all. Yeah. We do it all the time. Absolute backbones. All right, well, let's do a full-blown frown-out blitz. Full-bone? Well, I accidentally said full-bone. Let's just move past it and carry on. Damien, shout-out to my son Cooper. Picked up a building apprenticeship. Crushing it. Oh, Christ. Shout-out. Big bones.
31:38Keyzie:Backbone.
31:38Mike Minogue:What the f*** are? G'day, fellas. I'd love to do a frown-out to the fellas at work. I was sick today, so hopefully they had fun without me. That was from Jory. Good on you, Jory, you backbone. Froud out. Froud out to my old mate Donald for always pushing through with what he needs to do. Proud of you, love you, from Lucy. Froud out. Froud out to team Tablanch, sitting in bloody traffic heading to Fidiangha for the weekend. Crank the tunes, boys. Yeah, boy. Yeah, boy. Froud out, motherfucker. Frowd out to the old fellas The old fellas at the Sydenham Bowls Club Christchurch, Cheers and Up the Whars Up the Whars Frowd out
32:30Any more there?
32:32Mike Minogue:Do you want me just to sort of keep going? Yeah, absolutely We've got to deliver for the people We've got a few minutes to go here Actually, frowd out to Jack Who came through and picked up some beers Yeah, that was his name If you listened to the podcast outro today, we took a call. We were supposed to get some beers delivered, a bit of a shenanigan situation. We then said, hey, why don't you come to the station, pick up those beers. Came through, picked up some beers. Good on you, Jack. You're a backbone. Do you want me to keep going? Yeah, absolutely. We do. You've been getting sidelined in this other chat.
33:04I just want to focus on the frown outs, man. This is a frown outs, man.
33:08Mike Minogue:G'day, fellas. Frown out to the dozen purple guanas and the pack of darts on my passenger seat. Good eating. Froud out. Yeah, Froud out. Douche, douche. Froud out, motherfucker.
33:21Keyzie:Purple guanas. Yeah. I never got into them, eh? No, neither did I. And I got into everything.
33:27Mike Minogue:G'day, fellas. Froud out to me and the fellas. Thomas, James, Percy, and Gordon. Going to get responsibly steamed at the WARS game. Can't wait. Froud out. Froud out. Shout out to the men's women's black sticks. You see that one, man? No, frown out. No, I haven't finished. I'm not as good as you, man. Okay, carry on. Shout out to the men's and women's black sticks teams who haven't lost a game in the Champions Cup. You've been loving the hockey, Jase, you were saying. Yeah, very much so. Where are they playing that? Yeah. Frown out. I think we just stop here. Oh, look, one more, one more. Can you give a shout, a frown out to Bainey for giving me shit for sitting in front of my laptop all afternoon even though he's an accountant and spends all week in front of a computer?
34:18Mike Minogue:That's from JockXOXO, frown out. Frown out, motherfucker.
34:23Keyzie:We should do frown outs every day. Yeah, I think so, man. We should have like two segments put aside for frown outs every single day. This is our new favourite segment. What's on the frown out with me, Keezy? That's not what it's called. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Yes, indeed, back there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening. The time is exactly 19 minutes to six. Oh, God. Just turned over as I was talking. Yeah, I've got a bone to pick. I got a bone to pick. Fellas, I was away for the last couple of days. Old business mogi was out and about and drumming up a bit of business for the fellas.
35:08Good on you mate Good stuff The listeners might be into this I'm trying to get a Backbone the movie Up and running at the film commission Backbone the movie That's all I'm working with at the moment But need about 5 million dollars Have you got an idea of what it's about
35:25Mike Minogue:Backbone The movie No totally it sounds great but have you got any idea what it's about You, Whitty J and me And our pug son Just backbone in it hard Yeah. All right? That is a great concept.
35:39Keyzie:Yeah, I'd watch that. You either get it or you don't. Yeah, okay. Fellas, but I don't like being disconnected from the show, so I always make sure it's 7.30 when our podcast comes out. Find it wherever you get your podcasts. 7.30 on the dot. I'm there listening. I'm listening to the show. I'm listening to the kind of content you were doing. I'm also listening to the outro. And I wasn't really happy with how happy you guys were, number one, in my absence. and secondly with some of the things that were being said. I've got a little clip here. Okay. I'm never going to have a mogi build.
36:13Mike Minogue:No, because he's big and tall and gangly. Just play that again. I'm never going to have a mogi build. No, because he's big and tall and gangly. It's sort of cut out. It just says there, big and tall and gangly. Can you hear that? Yeah. Did I say that? Pretty clearly. Was that Pugs? Yeah, it was pretty clearly I heard that. I've got a slowed down version here. it? Well, what's interesting about this, and I replayed it a couple of times and slowed it down, if you slowed it down, you can actually hear between the lines calling me gangly I took a great offence at that. Great offence. Right, okay. So did I, just between me and you, Mark.
36:51Gangly is a terrible thing to call somebody. I think it's up there with sexism and racism, actually.
36:56Mike Minogue:I don't know if it is. I mean, that's going pretty far. Do you want to hear the slowed one? But I noticed that if you slowed it down, you can hear what Keezy's actually saying between the lines as well.
37:07Keyzie:I'm never going to have a Mogey build.
37:15Mike Minogue:No, because he's big and tall and gang-y. And a humongous piece of shit. Did you hear that bit? Yeah, I mean, I don't remember saying that. How do you defend that, man? Because we're meant to be working together, and how am I meant to come in here every day knowing that that's how you feel about it?
37:38Keyzie:Well, I don't think you can defend that. And I'm just appalled. I remember actually... What? We were having this chat, because I recall it was the three of us talking about our buzzies.
37:55Mike Minogue:So you and Pug talking about your buzzies, not me.
37:58Keyzie:And, you know, when you have those moments on the air, Mogey, where you're like, oh, oh. But now that it's played back, because I was like, I didn't hear that right. Yeah. You know what I mean? I misheard it. Yeah. But now that it's been played back, can I also point out something that Keezy said?
38:17Mike Minogue:We're knocking on Keezy now, aren't we? Is that what's going on?
38:21Keyzie:He also said you had tiny, tiny nips.
38:25Mike Minogue:Yeah. Yeah, well, he does, doesn't he? We all agreed on that. Actually, Mogey, I've just googled gangly And it's not actually an offensive term It says here, gangly is an adjective Used to describe someone who is tall That's you Thin Loose, jointed, often moving with a slightly awkward or ungraceful manner Oh That's all good Yeah, it's all good That's you, isn't it? Sorry, man, I misunderstood Yeah, yeah, yeah I don't know where that slowed down voice of mine came from That's crazy and your nips are massive man like it's pretty hurtful Kesey I'll be honest with you man but can I still be a part of Backbone the movie the Hauraki Big Show weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki
39:13Keyzie:yes indeed Dandy Warhol's there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening the time is 6 minutes to 6 o 'clock
39:21Mike Minogue:fellas if you are down in Christchurch this weekend on the Sunday there for the WARS game 4pm taking on the Cowboys. I'll be there. See you then. I'll be watching it. Don't you worry about that, you fellas. If you're in the area and you'd like a bit of a warm-up, the ACC are doing an official Export Ultra pregame to get everyone hyped for the match. It's going to be this Sunday at the Richmond Club in Christchurch. That's where we've done our live shows from down there. Oh, right, yeah. I thought it sounded familiar. Yeah, we've been there twice. There's going to be a whole lot of Export Ultra drink specials, free merch and a few giveaways and things, and free buses to the CBD.
39:56Mike Minogue:and then they're going to do a walking school bus to the stadium with a whole lot of fans. You know what I mean?
40:01Keyzie:You know, fellas, I want to be more spontaneous in my life. Okay. And I'm thinking I might just fly down there for the game. Okay. Maybe tomorrow night. Yeah. Do you think I could stay at your wife's parents' place as well? Keezy, you got another spare room? Yeah, sure. Yeah, sweet. Yeah, I bet you five grand you don't go anywhere.
40:21Mike Minogue:Five grand? Yeah. Not only that, I bet you five grand you don't go anywhere and you don't watch the game.
40:31Keyzie:I mean, fellas, I mean, come on.
40:34Mike Minogue:If I gave you five grand, you still wouldn't watch the game. You couldn't be bothered.
40:38Keyzie:If you gave me five grand, I'd definitely watch the game. But you wouldn't go down to Christchurch. You have to put... $5 ,000 and all you have to do is fly to Christchurch. You have to put the five grand in my account tonight and I'll get a flight to Christchurch. Out of the five grand?
40:53Mike Minogue:Out of the five grand. And you have to stay the night and go to the WARS game and then fly home. Would you do that?
40:58Keyzie:Yes, I would. Five grand. Yeah, we'll never know.
41:03Mike Minogue:Most people would pay a grand to go and do that. Yeah, absolutely. Hey, after six o 'clock, fellas, a bit of a debacle on my little motorbike there today. I wouldn't mind talking about it. Oh, God.
41:17The Hauraki Beat Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
41:23Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Friday's absolutely going off. You're listening to The Big Show, by the way, brought to you by Reburgier.
41:32Mike Minogue:Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that will change the game forever. Reburgier.
41:40Keyzie:And look, I'm thinking, fellas, you know, to all our listeners out there, you know, for a lot of people, Friday night is takeaway night. Why don't you treat yourself to a bit of Reburger? It's a good shout, Jase. You'll never, ever regret it. You'll never regret a Reeburger. No. Incidentally, what are you fellas eating? Oh, you're going to your wife's parents' place in Christchurch and her mother makes crusty cheese rolls and soup. And soup. And apparently, and this is really interesting, Kasey was saying off air, because I'm not really familiar with the... Here we go, yeah. Hang on a minute.
42:11Mike Minogue:Here we go, yeah. I'm not familiar with the cuisine that's down south, right? Oh, right. These cheese rolls are... But you're saying they're bloody dry bastards she puts together as well. See? Here we go. It's delicious. The combo of... You can't go wrong with a cheese roll.
42:28Keyzie:Yeah, no, that's absolutely right.
42:29Mike Minogue:And the good thing about cheese rolls is my wife's mother makes about 20 of them and then freezes them. And you can grab out like two, three, four, whatever you want, put them in the air fryer. Oh. And then get out the soup, get that cooking on the pot. Best things to dip in soup ever.
42:44Keyzie:Yeah, I agree. That's pretty good. Actually, funnily enough, we were going to have cheese toasties in soup tonight. But better.
42:50Mike Minogue:But better than mine.
42:51Keyzie:But then my wife went to the supermarket and she just texted me and said, I spent 80 bucks and I still don't have dinner. What did she buy? I don't know. A packet of chewing gum? Is that from that joint you normally go to? But then she was like, and also I didn't buy chips and I'm really pissed off with myself. How good are chips? Yeah, they're so good, man. What are you doing for dinner, Moggy? I don't know, man. Yeah, I'm not actually sure. We've got a whole lot of food bags. They're piling up, are they? That we've got to get through. Yeah, a whole lot of recipes that haven't been done. So I cooked.
43:23Today I've eaten a couple of buzies. Chicken breast. Chicken breast, yeah. Went my way through that. And then I don't know what else. Oh, actually, burgers. We're having burgers. Nice. Cheese burgers. Yum. You heard of those, man?
43:35Mike Minogue:Nah. Like a hamburger. Everyone's got cheese in it. A little bit of cheese on the basket there. Why do they call hamburgers ham burgers? Because they come from Hamburg in Germany. That's where they originate from. Are you for real? I'm 100 % serious. That answers so many questions. Well, just one question.
43:50Keyzie:The idea of cheese in a burger, it must be European, right? Cheese in a burger. Yeah, it's very ooh-la-la. Is it like French? It's like French cuisine, but from Germany. I simply must go. Putting cheese in a burger. Yeah.
44:05Mike Minogue:Hey, fellas, coming up next, I had a debacle on my motorbike there, plus some sport chat. My motorbike. Plus some sport chat, eh? Big weekend. Yeah, man, here's Nirvana. The Horaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
44:22Keyzie:Cool jam there on the Radio Hodaki. Big show this Friday evening.
44:27Mike Minogue:Fellas, I had a bit of a debacle today on my motorbike there. You know how I'm in the process of restoring an old motorbike? Yes. Yeah, yeah. With your dad. No, dad's not helping. Well, he has actually helped with a few little things, but this is all happening up here in Auckland. If he doesn't help you, it's not going to go well, is it? Nah, it'll be sweet. To be honest, if my dad was helping, it'd go a lot better. but I'm learning. Yeah. You know what I mean?
44:50Keyzie:Yeah, good on you, man. Kia car. That's really great, man. Thank you.
44:55Mike Minogue:So today, it took four months to get the paperwork done to put my bike on the road. It's officially registered on the road, right? Old thing. It's been in a shed for 20 years. We spent all this time fixing certain things, rebuilding carbs and replacing coils and blah, blah, blah. Did you put petrol in it? Yes.
45:12Mike Minogue:And so now that it can go on the road, I've been like, okay, I'm going to take this thing out for a few hoons because a mechanic guy was like, you need to take this thing out and thrash it. That's what it needs. It needs to be broken in. Yeah, yeah. Like a wild horse. Yeah.
45:25Keyzie:Except yours is more like a little Shetland pony. Sure, yeah. Or an old shitter in the paddock there, you know. Or a donkey. Yeah.
45:33Mike Minogue:Well, it is an old shitter. It's over 50 years old. Yeah. And so taking it out West Auckland, man, taking it on the back roads, got it up to the 80K areas. Whoa. 100K areas. Whoa. And then I got caught in this mini traffic jam out near Kumu there, out west. Yeah. And I was going slowly down this hill and I was like, I wonder if the headlight works because I had the headlight apart and I was like tattooing with some stuff and they're fixing one of the indicators, put it back together. And then I like flicked the headlight on switch and it killed my entire motorbike. And so I just rolled to the bottom of this hill and was just like, shit.
46:05Yeah.
46:06Mike Minogue:I don't have any tools. I don't have anything. And I was worried about this happening. Sounds like a fuse. 100 % Moggy. Did you know that, Jase? Yeah, I was going to say, yeah, fuse. Oh, were you going to say that? Yeah. It was a fuse. Yeah. So I put it in front of this random gate and just left it there, then Ubered to a mechanic store. Did you put a padlock on it? Nah. You've got to be careful. Well, I know. Seriously, who's going to steal it? Oh, that's true. Well, someone could steal it. It'd be probably worth it. Yeah, but it would. What?
46:33Keyzie:It just wouldn't be worth your year.
46:35Mike Minogue:Well, no, it would be worth it. If someone stole it, you know, it's an original old bike. It'd be worth, you know, a bit of coin. What are we talking? I reckon 10 grand. What? Wow. I reckon it would be. Yeah, sure. But anyway, this lovely lady, she came out. Yeah, you've been banging on about how lovely she was. No, I have not been banging on at all. Unbelievable.
46:57Keyzie:Her hair colour was irrelevant to the story you were saying earlier, by the way. And you still banged on about it. Yeah. I literally. Well, then how do I know that she's blonde?
47:04Mike Minogue:She was blonde because I mentioned it off air. Although this lovely blonde lady came over. One of many things you mentioned. No, I didn't. Now, she was an attractive old lady. I'll give her that. All right? But. You give a fuck? And then she messaged me on Instagram. I was like, hey, you know, bloody, that's funny. Oh, she's put into your DMs. Yeah, and then she's like, oh, you know. Up to. Blah, blah, thanks for giving me a great. Blah, blah, what's the blah, blah, blah? Blah, blah, I was just some specific admin around the area and where I parked, et cetera. Thanks for a great work story. Take care.
47:39Keyzie:Can I just point out here, you've left a big part of the story out here, Kesey, which is she thought it was her son's bike. Her brother's bike. Her brother's bike. And so then she was ringing her brother. Yeah, that's right. Going, why have you left your bike out the front of her? Why are you trying to sell it? Yeah, 100%.
47:54Mike Minogue:So very confusing. Uber came back with the fuse, put it straight in, fired straight up, had a lovely yarn with her. And anyway, we're meeting up at a Reburger next week. Oh, 100%. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
48:09Keyzie:Space Hog there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening. Fellas, there is an absolute banquet of sport going on at the moment. Let's have some sport chat.
48:31Mike Minogue:Sport chat with the fellas. Hey, the second test has started over in England. New Zealand versus England. The Black Caps are playing at the Oval. After day one, Jason, I'll be honest with you, I completely forgot it was on until I saw the highlights the following morning. Yes. We were 170-odd for seven. Yes, 170-odd for seven. And we managed somehow to make our way to 391. Yeah, man. Oh, no, tell a lie. It was 270. We were 270 for seven. And we made our way to 391 all out with Glenn Phillips getting himself a ton. just a third New Zealander to score a ton in all three formats of the game. Yeah, great stuff.
49:16Currently holding England at 222 for six.
49:19Keyzie:We've got a chance here, fellas. Yeah, we certainly do. And I tell you what, Jamison once again contributing with the bat as he did at Lords. What a lot of people don't know about Jamison is that early in his career he was an opening batsman. That was his thing, and then he went into bowling. Yeah, so, yeah, looking good for the fellas. They've got the English under the pump. Two really late wickets from Matt Henry. Henry, Root and Brock, two of the key players for England.
49:44Mike Minogue:So it's not a Lords again. What's the wicket looking like? Well, it's looking like a normal cricket pitch, which is a bit of swing and a bit of green top on day one, which slowly goes away and then resorts to turn, breaks up in the fifth day as a bit of turn there. So that's good. But what I'm really loving is I love tongue, I love Root, I love Gay and I love Cox as well. It's a hell of a test match. Some great players involved there. Then we've got the Football World Cup, fellas. Tomorrow morning, I'm actually really looking forward to this one, Australia versus USA. Oh, yes. The Americans have been talking a lot of shit about Australia, and I'm really hoping that the Aussies can towel them up on their home patch.
50:23That would be so good. I'd be absolutely thrilled by it. And then, of course, New Zealand will be playing on Monday morning at the Absolute Crack. Not too bad a time. Maybe it's – actually, I think it's one in the afternoon. Nice. How good. Who are they playing? They're playing Egypt. Oh, yeah, boy. We've got a chance to beat them in all honesty. Yes, we do.
50:41Keyzie:On the rugby front, super rugby final this Saturday, Hurricanes versus the Chiefs. I can't go past the Hurricanes, fellas. Even though the Chiefs have been outstanding this season and I think one of the only sides to beat the Hurricanes, I've got to say that victory, they just hung in there, hung in there. They were kind of fortunate to win it in the end, but I just can't go past the Hurricanes. They've been a level above everyone in the competition.
51:10Mike Minogue:Hurricanes, 13 plus. My mum's Hurricanes, my dad's Chiefs. Yes. And both of them think the Chiefs for some week. Oh, really? Interesting. Which is interesting. Yeah, I don't know why. I think it was last week's games. The Chiefs were just so dominant, and the Hurricanes tapered off a wee bit.
51:25Keyzie:Yeah, they did, but they've just been in cracking form all season.
51:30Mike Minogue:Can I just say, this is the first time I've gone, hey, I'm watching that Super Rugby game this weekend. I have to watch it.
51:36Keyzie:You have to watch it, yeah. It'll be a cracking game.
51:37Mike Minogue:Because I'm a league guy now, but it's a nice refreshing thing to be feeling. Yeah, man. Speaking of League Sunday, Waz, Cowboys, 4 o 'clock, we all know about it. Yeah, we're feeling you. It's going to be great. Go the boys. Go the fellas. Any other sport you guys want to chat about?
51:51Keyzie:Nah. No, I meant the Cowboys.
51:53Mike Minogue:Oh.
51:55Keyzie:Nah, go the Waz, man. Up the Waz. Up the Waz. We don't want you, man. I'm looking forward to that. 4 o 'clock. Actually, I put that in my calendar there. You don't have a calendar. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. R.E.M. there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening. Fellas, let's give out some advice for the weekend. Be pretty nip 69. At gmail.com. Get in touch with the fellas. Can I just say I'm not actually happy about that I'm not allowed to sing along with that anymore? We used to have a lovely time singing that, Jase. Yeah, I know. Now we've been banned by old Keezy.
52:35I feel like it... Well, you started butchering it. Well, that's not true, man. Add in to it, I think you meant to say. Yeah, of course you can sing.
52:43Mike Minogue:We're a freestyle. You can sing along to it. It's when you just start going, and just ruining it. And then Jase does that thing where he randomly yells, with the fellas. 3483, were we ruining it? Let us know. Love to know. By the way, on meetpattynips69 at gmail.com, we're starting to run low on the old advice question.
53:02Keyzie:With the fellas!
53:06Mike Minogue:So if you do need advice and you want a prize And you want to be on the show Meet pattynip69 at gmail.com Get in touch and Jase is having a glass of water Because that really hurt his throat G'day fellas, this is from Anonymous I've recently been admitted to hospital Following an absolute awesome month That started with gastro And then there was NRL magic round And then I got an absolutely wicked virus And now I can't feel or move my feet I'm 32 Wow Yeah, crazy. Geez. Now, my question for you is, while I'm here in hospital, should I ask them to check the old oil, if you know what I mean? Oh, yeah.
53:42Mike Minogue:How do I ask that without sounding too eager? And if your answer to that is yes, and they say something like, nah, you're young, or it's not really related, sir, how do I press the request without sounding like I just want a wand in my chamber of secrets, if you know what I mean? I know Keezy probably deals with this all the time at home, so any advice is appreciated. Cheers. What's he mean by that last bit? I don't know. I have no idea, fellas. Yeah, a one to the two. I've never had one of them. What? Do you think I should? You haven't lived. No, but like, do you think I should? Do you mean you haven't had one professionally administered?
54:19Mike Minogue:Yeah. It's much the same. Oh, is it? I don't know what you're talking about. The old oil change there, the old inspection. It's when they take their, you know, they check your prostate.
54:32Keyzie:Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got you. Yeah. Well, I mean, it's, you know, one-stop shop really, isn't it? I mean, while you're in there, you might as well get it all checked out in the hospital. Yeah, yeah. I completely agree. While I'm here, let's do the lot. Yeah, just get it done. Lock, stock, the lot.
54:48Mike Minogue:Especially if you've had a huge month like that.
54:51Keyzie:Yeah, that's a, well, I don't know what's going on there. I mean, there's a lot of stuff going on there. Can you guys feel your feet? It's funny to me that he couldn't feel his feet, and the first thing he thought was I've got to get a prostate check. Yeah, yeah. Are you supposed to feel your feet? Can you not feel yours? No. Because I can't feel mine. My feet? Yeah. I can feel my feet. Really? Yeah. What I do actually get is my pinky on my left hand. I often can't feel that.
55:17Mike Minogue:That's weird. Is that a nerve thing?
55:20Keyzie:I often can't feel my face. Really? Yeah.
55:26Mike Minogue:Right. Well, maybe you should go get your oil checked then. Yeah. Well, for my face. I can do it, man. You want to check my oil? The thing about it is, here's the thing. Like, you want to go to the doctor, what are they going to charge you? 70 bucks? Yeah. 70 bucks? I wouldn't know, to be honest. Well, honestly, 70 bucks is what they're going to charge you. It'll take you weeks. Yes. Five bucks, I can do it for you now. Okay, you're on. But do you know what to feel for? Huh? The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
55:58Keyzie:Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's a big show done and dusted for you Friday and for the week. Keezy, what's the podcast? We got interrupted in our podcast outro today with an urgent call on in the studio here.
56:10Mike Minogue:We did, from a young listener named Jack, but we sorted it in, we fell as, yes, that's his name. This clip is called Phone Rage. The general manager of brand for One New Zealand. Yes. And she saw the video of your shit phone and thought it was an absolute disgrace and has been trying to get in touch with you to give you a phone for quite some time. But of course, because you don't know how to work your messages, you've been completely oblivious. Yes. But anyway, all happy now? Yeah, yeah. Isn't it ridiculous how Jase just gets given free phones because he refuses to upgrade?
56:46Keyzie:What's funny about it is it's because of your guys' outrage. It's not even my outrage. Jase is perfectly happy. Chill, man. You're great stuff. Two phones. What's that? Two phones just given to you willy-nilly. Actually, I'll get in touch with her and see what she's got to offer. Sorry, what? In terms of phones, Mogey. She might be able to upgrade me. Yeah, because you need another upgrade, man. Yeah. It could be my burner phone.
57:12Mike Minogue:She could give you a worse phone and you'd have no idea. She'd give you a phone from five years ago and you'd be like, sweet.
57:19Keyzie:Yeah, man, because I'm so chilled. Hey, Mogey. Yeah. What's the plan for the weekend, mate? Roller skating lessons for my daughter. Nice. She's got yet another birthday party to go to. Oh, yeah. Going to play another Beulah Kuali play tomorrow night. Yes. Sons of Vaal, I think it's called, at Auckland Theatre Company, so getting along to that. Bit of football tomorrow morning with Australia playing the USA. Rugby league on Sunday afternoon. Sporting. Super rugby final. You're probably chucking a bit of cricket just here and here too. Absolutely. cricket I want to put on. And watching that, especially the way Phillips played, and seen him get absolutely peppered the way he did by Archer, and then come through and get a ton.
58:02That's what it's all about, man. Yeah, mate. That's what you're robbed of. Yes. When the pitch is an absolute shitter, it's so bad. Yeah, it's annoying. So, yeah, enjoy it while it's on, mate.
58:12Keyzie:Keezy, Warriors, steamed, hungover Monday. Pretty much, man. What are you doing this weekend?
58:18Mike Minogue:What are you doing this weekend?
58:21Keyzie:Bits and pieces, actually, going all over the place. this weekend doing lots of stuff. Oh, yeah. I can't be more specific than that. That's okay.
58:27Mike Minogue:You don't have to. We don't know what's happening, do you?
58:29Keyzie:Actually, I'll tell you what. No. It's fine. Hey, now listen. Go and check out the Instagram. Go and check out the podcast. Heaps going on with the big show. Yeah. Until Monday. See you later. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Thank you.
