In short

The Hauraki Big Show “FULL SHOW: Negotiation 101” is a mix of sports talk, TV/media chat, food promos, and a comedy improv about real-estate bargaining. The main segment is the All Blacks team announcement for Saturday vs France in Christchurch: Damian McKenzie at fullback; Reuben Love starting at first five-eighth; Quinten Paya and Jordie Barrett in the centres; Artie Savia (not “Andy”) at No. 8; Luke Jacobson at openside; plus Caleb Clark and Will Jordan on the wings.

Key claims

selectors justify the new-regime reshuffle (including Jacobson as “serviceable” and why Bodie isn’t selected due to a “sketchy” Blues season/injuries).

Notable examples

the improv “buyer” negotiation where the agent pushes from $480 to $450 by including “dillies.”

Guests

no external guests—hosts are Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue, and Keyzie (Keezy/Mogi referenced as a host nickname).

0:00Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Thanks to crave-worthy street food. Freshly made with Reburger.

0:09Keyzie:Welcome, this is Big, to the Hauraki Big Show. Really Big. With Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh, g'day you mad bass. It's great to have your company on another glorious day in Auckland City. It is the 2nd of July, 2026. And you, my friends, as always, listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburger.

0:31Mike Minogue:Crave-worthy street food freshly made with Reburger.

0:39Keyzie:I've just got to let the audience know Mogi arrived today with his jacket on and his hoodie underneath. It's a good look, kind of bad boy biker kind of look. I drive here in my Tita. Yeah, man. And it always slightly disappoints me when you've got a big jacket on and stuff, But the good news is the studio is really steamy at the moment, so old Mogi had to uncloak, and he's wearing his tighty-whity. My word. Hello. There he is. Hello. G'day, Mogi. How's life? Going pretty grousy, you mad dog, you're sick son of a bee. Aren't we blessed with some bloody beautiful weather at the moment, fellas? It's just stunning.

1:21Mike Minogue:Every single day, a bluebird. It is stunning. Jay said in Auckland City, which once again, I feel like if you're listening from the South Island, You're like, what? There's nowhere else in the world. Only Auckland? There's only Auckland.

1:31Keyzie:I'm nearly stating a fact. No, totally.

1:35Mike Minogue:Just people down south will be like, oh, what? Why are you constantly going the jizz bot? Yeah, man. I don't know. How you going, Keezy, man? Yeah, pretty good, fellas, to be honest. Lovely day out there in Auckland City. Hopefully it's good wherever you are. Yeah, totally.

1:50Keyzie:Let us know on 3483 how's the weather where you are. I don't want to go that far. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I am loving that jacket there, Keezy. It's a good look, man. What is that? Corduroy? That's a very expensive fabric, as I understand it is. Yeah, well, it looks expensive. Thank you. I saw Keezy walking across the street today, and I was like, ooh la la.

2:13Mike Minogue:Yeah, right.

2:14Keyzie:Here we go. There he is.

2:16Mike Minogue:It is. It's corduroy. Hello. It's corduroy. It was half price at the Dickies outlet. Outlet. Outlet. so nothing too fancy here fellas actually speaking of fancy Jase you've got your standard black hoodie and a boys trip hat on you're looking good brother

2:33Keyzie:the only reason I'm wearing the hat today fellas I played golf this morning and I had hat here and I was just like I'll keep it on just for today but I'll show you my glorious locks again tomorrow hey Mogey what's coming up on the show

2:51Keyzie:what's happening on the big show with Old Mogey. Fellas, I had a brain scan recently and I got the results back today. Great. Or is it? Or is it? The results may surprise you. That's coming up later in the show, Jase. That must have been a hell of a scan because you've got a massive head.

3:14Also coming up later, now I was shocked when this came into the chat. Jase, you want to talk about how your cat stares at you making love. Yes. We'll get a couple of breaks out of that Bastard And coming up next The All Black Squad Has been announced to play France This coming Saturday night Down there in Christchurch I believe We'll be going through the line up And talking through why you made your selections Jase Absolutely man, absolutely

3:43Mike Minogue:Also a little later on the show Listen out for that cue to call You could win 250 bucks with the pies that pay Is that New Zealand dollar? Yes

3:49Keyzie:How good his stereophonics.

3:53Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

3:58Keyzie:Audio Slave there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon. The time is 13 minutes past four o 'clock and we have breaking news.

4:10This is breaking news. Fellas, the All Blacks team for this Saturday's clash against France have been announced.

4:21Keyzie:Yeah, exciting. Dave Rennie's first team announcement as coach. Let's crack into it, shall we, Keezy? Sure, man. Your fullback is Damian McKenzie. Wings, Will Jordan and Jordie Barrett. Yeah, nice. Centre is Quintu Paya. Caleb Clark and Will Jordan are your wings. Quintu Paya and Jordie Barrett are your centre pairings. Yeah, nice. With Jordie at 12. Big one here, Reuben Love is your first 5 '8". Cam Roygaard at nine. Andy Savir, another big one here. Captain and number eight? Artie Savir. Artie, sorry. Goes by Andy sometimes. Did I say Andy? Yeah, Andy Savir. How weird. Luke Jacobson at seven.

5:01Peter Larki at six. Sam Darry and Josh Lord are your locks. Fletcher Newell and Ethan DeGroote are your props. And Cody Taylor is your hooker.

5:11Keyzie:Yeah. Yeah. The only real issue that I have is Jacobson. Is it at seven? Yeah. Look, he's a good player, but I would describe him as serviceable. Whereas I would have preferred that they'd gone with an Anton Segner in that situation. The German-born player from the Blues. But other than that, I'm pretty excited by that, Fjellis. Weren't you one of the selectors? Yes, I was. What was the thingy behind getting Artie Sarve here at number eight? Obviously an open side. Yeah, well, he can play all of the loosies. He can do six. Well, initially you had him at halfback. Yeah, I did. I was trying to change it up, but that's because Cam was under a bit of an injury cloud.

5:56Keyzie:Yeah. We've got Ratama, obviously, in the reserves. Yeah, he's on the bench. But I just thought, you know, we've got to change things up. This is a new regime. Well, you want to have your best players on the park. That's right. So you've got to find room for them somewhere, Keezy. So if they're not going to fit at, you know, 8, 7, 6, You've got to look at halfback. You're right. I also thought it was time for Reuben. I think he's a good athlete. Reuben Love. Reuben Love at first five. Now, you know, a lot of people will be – he's been talked about all season. And Jody – what's his name? Bowden Barrett.

6:31Keyzie:Oh, yes. Jody, Jody, Bowden. Bowden Barrett. Amazing player. Still in the mix, of course. You've got your McKenzie, but I like him at fullback. I like him roaming and injecting himself into the line. I also like a Bodie at fullback. Yeah, I like a Bodie at fullback too. I think they're interchangeable, but we've got to give this young fella, Ruben Love, who's a good athlete, a run, I reckon.

6:56Mike Minogue:Apparently you selected him to start at prop originally, though.

6:59Keyzie:Ruben?

7:00Mike Minogue:Yeah.

7:00Keyzie:Yes, I did. Yeah. But we had some injury concerns. That was just a cover-up scenario, but then the fella's come good. Newell, he's fine now.

7:08Mike Minogue:Right, okay. He's like, who are our reserves, mate? You got Asafo Al Mua? Oh, yes. Dynamo hooker there. He's a dynamo, isn't he?

7:15Keyzie:He is a very powerful player. Do you know what he is, man? He's a dynamo. He's a dynamo. I actually initially had him on the wing. Yeah, what was your thinking behind that? Well, he's a dynamo. He's a dynamo. He's got pace for a big man. You've got to put your best players on the park, Kesey. That's right. So if you can't put them at prop, you've just got to put them on the wing.

7:31Mike Minogue:You've got to find a way to get them on the field. Thank you. Xavier Numir, Tyrell Lomax. Yeah, Lomi.

7:37Keyzie:Lomi? Yeah, I had him at second five initially. Patrick Tua Pelotu, I think he's on the bench probably for some kind of forward cover, is he? But you initially had him at fullback. I had him at fullback, yeah, just hitting the line hard from behind.

7:51Mike Minogue:You've got Cortes Latima, of course, coming off the bench, but it says here he's covering hooker.

7:56Keyzie:Yeah, he is. And what's Satiti doing in there? Satiti, he can play anywhere. He's such an extraordinary athlete. He can, of course, traditionally he'll play your loosies, your seven, your eight, your six. I like the look of him at lock. But you said the main reason he's in the team is because he's got great choice of music, so he does the tunes on the bus. He does, yes. Really? And he brings his guitar as well.

8:19Mike Minogue:Music that you like. It's good for team spirit. Billy Proctor, of course. Oh, Procky. And you've got Feher. They call him the proctologist. Did you know that? Do they? Yeah, yeah. Wow, why is that?

8:32Keyzie:Jase? Well, you'll have to ask Mogi that. I didn't realise they called him the proctologist. We're running out of time here.

8:38Mike Minogue:We've got Feher, Fingiang, and Nufu as well on the bench. and unavailable due to injury. Tupou Vahey, what's wrong with him? Yeah, he's got an injury. Oh, nice. I think he's actually got a concussion. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, right. Well, there you go. There's your team. That's pretty exciting,

8:50Keyzie:and I'm excited that we're playing France. They're always a good team to play. What are your thoughts, New Zealand, on that New Zealand side? Where would you be playing players? In the meantime, here's butthole surface.

9:04Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

9:10Keyzie:Yeah, baby. Lenny Kravitz. Hey, it's All Black Jack.

Read the full transcript

9:16Mike Minogue:Oh, is there a sting?

9:17Keyzie:Yeah, well, I asked Pug if he could. Pug. Who's Pug? Pug-san. If he could make an All Black sting. Did he? Oh. No, this is it. You've been made to look a fool.

9:27Mike Minogue:Again. If you've just tuned in, Hoity J has just, we've just gone through the All Black side that has been named to face France. Yes. This Saturday night down at Takaha Stadium in Christchurch. Yes. Jase, a lot of people won't know this, but you're one of the selectors.

9:41Keyzie:Yes, I am, yeah.

9:42Mike Minogue:So if anyone has any questions as to why he did certain things, text it through on 3483. You can win a$50 Reebok about you. Probably the main talking point has been that McKenzie is at fullback. Ruben Love makes his start at first 5-8. Artie Savia, not Andy. Andy's not playing. No. He's at number eight. and also a little bit of chat around Luke Jacobson being at open side flanker. Yeah. There's a good question here, 3483. Is Bodie injured? How come he's not named, not even on the bench, Jase? What were you thinking?

10:15Keyzie:No, well, I was speaking to the renovator and – Is that Dave Rennie? Dave Rennie, yeah. And I was saying, you know, as I was stating earlier, I think, you know, there does need to be a changing of the guard. Oh, really? Bodie still has plenty to offer the side. Right. But I'm just at this moment in time. You know, Bodie's had a bit of a sketchy kind of season with the Blues. He's had a few injury concerns. Damien's back to full fitness, and I like him injecting from behind at fullback there.

10:45Mike Minogue:Right, okay. Someone here asking, have you thought of trying DMACC in the forwards? Yes, I have. Like him at number eight or, you know? Yeah, blind. Oh, I think that would be a mistake. You really want to get him up front. Yeah, he's got to be in the front row. He's a little fella, but he's a mad bastard.

11:02Keyzie:Well, this is the thing, you know, and he's a tough little bugger. Oh, he's a shocking bastard. And the thing about him playing in the front row there, Mogey, you know, on the open side, is that he's very hard to pack down to. Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? Because he's not a big fella. Not at all. And he can get real low to the ground, Keezy. And so other props, we thought Renovator and I would really struggle to get that bind with him. But ultimately you and Rendang decided to go with fullback after all. Yes.

11:33Mike Minogue:Yeah, right. Did he talk you around to that old Beef Rendang? Did he talk you around to the fullback switch? The Renovator. Oh, yeah. I mean, sure. Where does Beef Rendang come from? I don't know. That's what Mogi called him. No, I called him Rendang, not Beef. He hates it when you call him Beef. Who, the Renovator? No, Rendang. Oh. Who's running the water? Who's running the water? Good question here, 3483.

12:00Keyzie:Me. You're running the water? Yeah, yeah. Well, I mean, the renovator gives me instructions. I'll be on the sideline, and then I'll be out with the water just passing that on to the field.

12:09Mike Minogue:Yeah, right, okay. You'll get puffed as though, won't you? Yeah, I will. Look, so many questions coming through. Your wing selections of Caleb Clark and Will Jordan. Yeah. They pretty much pick themselves.

12:21Keyzie:Yeah, pretty much. Caleb's been in great form for the Blues, and Will Jordan, well, he's a world-class player. You could play him anywhere. I did think about playing him at blindside. There's been a bit of chat about him starting at ref. He did, yes. Will Jordan. Will Jordan. No one knows the rules like Will Jordan does.

12:40Mike Minogue:Right, but as a selector, do you have the power to put him at ref? Not at this point. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

12:50Keyzie:Incubus there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon. The time is 4.52. Let's talk TV. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue?

13:07That's rad. Last night I watched the first episode of the television show The Agency. I was meant to watch Keezy's show Game of Two Halves, but I'm saving it. I'm saving it. What are you saving it for? Tonight. My wife was in another room, so I had to watch something that she'd already seen that I'm trying to catch up on it. So it's a CIA, it's a spy agency sort of a thing. It's got a good budget, great cast. Michael Fassbender, Richard Gere, a few others I can't remember. She's a lot of, she's very moody, it looks great. I wouldn't say it's absolutely thrilling yet. I'm sure it'll get that way.

13:44I'll stick with it. I'll let you know, it's on neon. I'll give it three buzzies out of a possible five at this stage. I'll let you know how the rest of it goes. Oh, nice.

13:54Keyzie:Do you even need to ask what I watched last night?

13:57Mike Minogue:Yeah, I'd like to know. I think that's the point of this part of the show. And then I'd like to know who your favourite was. Well, of course, Game of Two Hubs. Who was your favourite on the show? Easy. You can't just have me as your favourite every time. Why not? Like one of the panellists, surely.

14:13Keyzie:I love your enthusiasm. I love the fact that you're really fully invested in it. What, in the job I'm being paid to do? Hayley was good too. Hayley was very good. Hayley who? Sproul. Sproul, yeah, she was great. Bryce is, you know, Bryce is good. But the star of the show without question, Mogi, is Keezy. He just lifts the entire. Can I say that he emanates a certain sexual.

14:42Mike Minogue:No, he doesn't. Magnetism, you know, is real sexy. Can I put it this way? Keezy oozes sex. Thank you. I don't ooze anything. No, you're a massive oozer.

14:55Keyzie:Am I? Oh, shocking bastard for the oozing. You know, back in the day when I was under stress, I used to have my comfort programs. Yes. Which was predominantly Game of Thrones. Now, of course, if I'm ever feeling under the pump, I get a dose of Keezy in me. Oozing. Oozing. Oozing with sporting knowledge and sexuality.

15:19Mike Minogue:Yeah, cool. Game of Two Halves. It's on TV3 tomorrow night at 8.30. I watched my wife and I, of course, we've been trying to get... You watched your wife and I? What, did you make a film or something? Jase, for the last week, we've been trying to get through the... Oh, trying to get through. Trying to watch the... That doesn't sound good. ...the entire episode of Broken Wood Mysteries that centres around Jase's character, Ray. Oh, yeah, that is a...

15:39Keyzie:I hope I didn't, you know, put your wife under pressure the other night when we were out for dinner. You did. About the fact that, you know, she hasn't finished watching Broken Wood. 100%. So she's feeling really bad about it.

15:49Mike Minogue:We managed to watch 15 more minutes. We're now at the halfway mark of the episode. It's just so long.

15:58Keyzie:It's so long. You see, this is the problem with the youth of today, Mogey. Thank you. Short attention spans. You know what I mean? Is that the problem? I'm not a youth. I'm 34. You know, and it's all going to be wham, bam, thank you. You know what I mean? Bam. Wham, bam, thank you, ma 'am. Anything that's got a bit of sophistication to it. Anything with a bit of length to it. And Keezy just goes, oh, I can't handle it.

16:24Mike Minogue:You can't handle a bit of length. Oh, trust me. I can handle length. But this is ridiculous. Hour 30. We're halfway through. I'm pretty sure I know who the murderer is, but we're only halfway through, so I'm like, obviously it's not them. It's too early. Too early, yeah. It's too early in the show. Yeah. So I guess we'll just watch that in 15-minute increments over the next three weeks. But really enjoying your performance, Jase. I do watch it for you. and as I've said before, I like zooming out and thinking, how would Jase be feeling in this moment? How is he feeling having to wear this pigeon suit constantly?

16:54Mike Minogue:And just things like that. It makes us laugh.

16:56Keyzie:Yeah.

16:57Mike Minogue:But honestly, five buzzies out of five. Oh, it's unreal. Whenever I need a comfort show, I watch Broken Wood Mysteries.

17:02Keyzie:Yeah, just on that Game of Two halves, 5.5 buzzies.

17:06Mike Minogue:Oh, wow. Broken Wood Mysteries, six buzzies out of five. Game of Two halves, seven buzzies. Wellington Paranormal, two buzzies out of five. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

17:24Keyzie:Welcome back you massive backbones. Hope your Thursday is going along very nicely indeed. You're listening to The Big Show incidentally brought to you by Reburger.

17:33Mike Minogue:Reburger has handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that will change the game.

17:40Keyzie:Yummy. Sure is man. Sure is.

17:45Mike Minogue:You said you were going to get it last night.

17:46Keyzie:Yeah, how was it, man? No, I remember I changed my mind because I said I was going to do it in the weekend. What did you have? What did I? I don't want to blow another restaurant's trumpet while we're talking Reburg. Okay. Okay, let's chat Reburg. But what I can currently tell you is at this very moment in time, I'm in deep conversation with my wife regarding either hot pot tonight or a family pie with mash. Yum. It's a pretty limited menu you're running, isn't it? It is. It is at the moment. It's a family pie with mash or it's hot pot. Yeah. That's all you got. Yeah. Or maybe dumplings. Or dumplings.

18:28Keyzie:Yeah, dumplings. Yeah. I mean, my priority, I mean, if I'm being honest, is re-burger. Do you ever have a vegetable? This is the thing, you see. My wife's very big on the veggies. Apparently they're good for you. So apparently, you know, I'll buy like a takeaway, and then she'll steam veggies. Yeah. And I'm just like, well, no, what are you doing? What? And or we'll go and have a breakfast. And she'll go, can I also have a side of spinach with that? Yeah. And I'm like, what are you doing? Come on, man. You're meant to get your five plus a day, Jase. How many do you get a day? None. Two or three.

19:07Keyzie:No, no vegetables. Two or three. Then you're, because I love the fruit.

19:14Mike Minogue:Do you?

19:15Keyzie:Actually, let's put it to the audience on 3483. How many veggies are you going through a day? That's good, man. Thank you. Thank you. It's really good. Thank you. Yeah, 3483.

19:26Mike Minogue:How many veggies do you eat every day? Also, coming up next, fellas, I need help. Boy, do you? Well, I haven't even said what. Got him. Got him.

19:35Keyzie:I mean, did you look at that jacket before you wore it out? Hello. Come on, man. Queen to the Stone Age.

19:40Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

19:46Keyzie:Bush. Bush. This Thursday afternoon, Machine Head. The time, 13 minutes past five.

19:54Mike Minogue:Jase, just want to give you a big pat on the back for the how many veggies do you eat? Yes, going off, isn't it? It's going off? No, it's not. Not one text. Well, there's one or two. Is there? It's pretty abysmal, yeah. So a great topic.

20:06Keyzie:A lot of people aren't going to make an effort, neither am I.

20:09Mike Minogue:Well, look, let's jumpstart it. How many veggies do you eat daily? 3483, give us a text. Fellas, the time is almost upon us for Kesey to list his house on the market.

20:20Keyzie:Yeah, man.

20:20Mike Minogue:We've been getting it ready for ages, you know, going over everything, making sure we're doing it properly. And so we're going to list it very soon. One thing I am a bit worried about is when hopefully someone, you know, comes along, likes the place, and then puts in an offer, they then have to – that goes through the agent, comes to me. Yes. And the agent's like, oh, let's say hypothetically you want$500 ,000 for your house. Oh, they've come in at$450 ,000. But they want the fridge and they want this and they want you to do this. Shaddles. Shaddles. And all that sort of stuff. Yeah, yeah. What did you call them, Jase?

20:53Mike Minogue:The Shattles Are those Shattles? Yeah, Shattles

20:56Keyzie:I thought they were Chattles No, they're Shattles They're Shattles

20:59Mike Minogue:Well, that's the thing So someone comes in They want like a buttload of your Shattles And they come in under And just stuff like that Yes And then you've got the real estate agent Who has your best interest in mind But also wants to make the sale happen Yes So they get paid What's the maximum amount of money over the line, you know? Yeah But also wants it to go over the line Oh, yeah And quickly better Would be better, right? Because then it's less open homes

21:21Keyzie:I tell you what Because when I was selling for the first time, they were sort of around the price we wanted, but they wanted to include the sex swing in there. And I was like, I don't think so, mate. They wanted to include the sex swing? Yeah, they said. You left the sex swing out for open homes? Yes. Just to show that it was a living, vibrant place to live.

21:44Mike Minogue:Right, okay. Yeah, good. Yeah, yeah. And you managed to sell it? Yeah, man. Okay. But this is the issue, though, Mogi. And I don't know. you probably had more experience selling non-sex wing houses than Hoity J. Because I don't want to be pressured into just accepting less than I think my house is worth. No, no. Well, we had a little apartment actually once. And there was a guy that came in to buy it. And he was a gardener around the joint there. And he was looking to buy his first home. He was 81. 81. He came in with a very, very good offer. We were happy. and then the real estate agent came in and tried to pressure us to ask for more money.

22:24He's like, I think I can squeeze some more money out of this old bastard.

22:27Mike Minogue:The 81-year-old? Yeah, and we were like, no, it's all good, man. It's a fair deal. So we just accepted the money, Kesey. You don't want to be greedy, mate. There's people like you being greedy. I'm not being greedy. Driving up the cost of houses for everyone, Jase. Would you agree with that? So it's my fault? Yeah, totally. I've got one small house. A lot of people talk about the incredibly high cost of housing on the market, And a lot of that comes down to Kesey and his money grubbing. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

22:52Keyzie:Listen, also, here's another. One small. Trying to eke out every bloody dollar. Thank you. And meanwhile, you've got some 81-year-old backbone out there gardening. The guy that wanted to buy your place. Buying his first house. But that was ages ago. And you're trying to squeeze every penny you can. It's shocking, man.

23:09Mike Minogue:But that was ages ago. I haven't even put mine for sale. Can I just make a point, too? I'm glad there's an election coming out, man, because I'm voting you out, Kesey. Yeah, totally. That's not how elections work.

23:17Keyzie:Now, the other thing you've got to consider too, real estate agents, they don't really care. They just want to sell. Sell, sell, sell. So if it's possible for you to get into a relationship. Oh, yeah. Oh, what? Here he is. So that there's some emotional connection there. You're not just another person trying to sell their house. Hello. But the problem is, the issue with that is. There he is.

23:45Mike Minogue:The issue with that is I'm in a loving relationship with my wife.

23:49Keyzie:Well, look, do you want to get top dollar or not? Hello. There he is.

23:54Mike Minogue:What are you doing? Well, I don't know because I don't want to be greedy. So it's either let it go for cheap to not be greedy or get in a relationship with the agent. You're a shocking bastard. No, I'm not. I haven't done anything yet.

24:09Keyzie:Well, look, let's go through it next. A scenario with your real estate agent. Yes. And we'll talk it through. Sounds cool, man.

24:18Mike Minogue:The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki.

24:24Keyzie:The Verve there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this Thursday evening. The time is 5.24, which means it's time for... Quiet on set. Sound speed. Lights. Camera. Action. Now it's time for the Big Show Improv. Yes, indeed. Well, Kesey's trying to sell his home.

24:45Mike Minogue:I'm about to list it. He's listing it.

24:48Keyzie:Yeah, you're trying to sell it.

24:49Mike Minogue:Yeah, I'm about to list it. Yeah, yeah. Cool.

24:53Keyzie:So that's good. That's clear. That's clear.

24:56Mike Minogue:Okay, it's good. Well, which is it? I'm about to list it.

25:01Keyzie:Can we get on with it? Yeah, totally. And he wants to figure out, you know, how to deal with the negotiations, basically, between the real estate and the other parties. Is that correct?

25:10Mike Minogue:A party trying to, you know, get it for as cheap as possible. you've got an agent who wants what's best for you but also wants to sell it. Yes. So it doesn't care if you sell it for, let's say,$500 or$450 because they're going to get a big chunk anyway. They just want it sold. So I was just like, how do you approach this situation? How should I deal? How do you be staunch but not too staunch, you know?

25:31Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, sure.

25:31Mike Minogue:So you figure an improv where I'll play me. Yes, trying to sell. Maybe, Mogi, you play a buyer. Okay. And I want to buy your house? You just pretend. It's make-believe. Yeah, it's make-believe. That would be a massive backwards step. Okay, well, pretend that I'm living in maybe your current house or something. Oh, yeah, cool. Yeah, yeah. And Hoity J, you're the agent representing me, all right? Yeah, sure. And maybe Mogi's in another room. Where am I? Can I be in your bedroom? No, you're in... No, we're just... I'll be in your bedroom. Okay, you're in my bedroom. I'm sitting on your bed. Okay, you're sitting...

26:04Mike Minogue:Okay, you're sitting on my bed, all right. It's a squeaky bed. Yeah, it is. Actually, no, you're in the lounge. You're in the lounge. I'm in the living room, all right? In the fold-out couch. No, there's not a fold-out camera. Why does there have to be a bed?

26:17Keyzie:Brian, just trying to paint an accurate picture. Okay, can we start there?

26:21Mike Minogue:Okay. Sure, man. Ready? Action.

26:25Keyzie:Well, Chris, this is very exciting news, actually. Looks like we've got a very interested buyer on the fold-out bed in the lounge there, and he's certainly very interested. Very, very interested. Well, that's good.

26:39Mike Minogue:So he's very keen on the property? Yeah, very keen. Does he have to sell his house to buy this one?

26:43Keyzie:No, he's cash up front. Wow, okay. So that's even better.

26:47Mike Minogue:Obviously, I want 500. That was my bottom line.

26:49Keyzie:Yeah, look, he's prepared to go 580. Sorry, 480 at this point. How do you feel about 480? 480. Yeah. Do you reckon we could get him up? Look, well, certainly. What do you reckon we can? Because if we can get him up. Look, I can only try.

27:07Mike Minogue:Okay, well, if you go back and just say, look, he's pretty firm on the 500. Sure. And just see what he says, all right? Yeah, sure. Okay.

27:16Keyzie:That's the only door I could find. Yeah, g'day, Jeremy. How are you? You good, Jeremy, there? I'm in the bedroom. Oh, okay. Hang on. Wait, so who are you just... Hey, sorry. Oh, the... Oh! G'day, Jeremy. How are you? Yeah, good. Yeah, good. Now, listen, I've just been talking to the seller here, and I'll be honest with you, mate, he's a bit of a dear brain. I reckon you could go 450 and he'd be pretty happy.

27:50Mike Minogue:Hang on, this is not. I'll go 450.

27:54Keyzie:Okay, 450. Can I keep the bed? Oh, you can keep the bed. Take a look in the drawer there, too. You're probably going to keep some of that stuff. Hello. Okay, I'll go back to Christopher and just get his thoughts. Close the door. Yeah, sorry.

28:13Mike Minogue:How come we can still hear it?

28:21Keyzie:G'day, Christopher. Hi.

28:22Mike Minogue:That took ages. It sounded like you went into the lounge first and started talking and then went into another room.

28:27Keyzie:Yeah, they went into the bedroom there, Jeremy. That's weird, don't you think? No, not at all. Very normal activity. How'd you get on? Pretty good, I think. Okay, we got them to move off 480? Yeah, we did. He's happy to offer$4.50 if you include the dillies. So you went down? Yes. Well, no, I didn't. You got him down? Yeah, yeah, I got him down. We're trying to make him go up. $4.50 as long as you include the dillies. And he wants my dillies? Yes. Look, I'll be honest with you. It's a tough market out there at the moment, Christopher. That's a very, very reasonable, very reasonable offer. Well, can we just – sorry.

29:11Keyzie:What are you guys up to?

29:12Mike Minogue:Oh, can you go back into the bedroom, please? Cut, cut. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

29:27Mike Minogue:It's beer and pie July on Radio Hauraki.

31:00Mike Minogue:You can fish in the harbour, you can go out to Mere Island, you can go all over the place, mate.

31:05Keyzie:Yeah, sounds good, actually.

31:06Mike Minogue:Go wherever you want, Jase. Yeah, man. Rob, what do you do at the port, man? Are you driving one of those big straddler things? No, I don't actually. I drive around in the U and I look after the guys that drive those big machines. Oh, yeah, back, mate. I look after them. Yeah, back, mate.

31:22Keyzie:Tell me, Rob, do you like a pie? Love a pie, mate. Love a pie. What's your go-to?

31:28Mike Minogue:Oh, it's got to be your dad's mince and cheese, mate. Oh, here he is. Backbone.

31:32Keyzie:Here he is. I'll tell you what, mince and cheese. Yeah. She's popular, isn't she? The old mince and cheese.

31:37Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah. Especially with a beer in July. Oh, this guy gets it. This guy gets it. This guy totally. This guy gets it.

31:43Keyzie:Totally. Well, great news for you there, Rob. You've just won yourself$250, mate.

31:49Mike Minogue:Oh, you guys are a ripper.

31:50Keyzie:No worries.

31:51Mike Minogue:Too fitty, man, just like that. We're going to call Bogsy, man, because this guy gets it. The CEO. and just tell them that there's a guy in Toto that gets it.

31:59Keyzie:I tell you what actually Rob, with that cash maybe tomorrow when you're knocking off for the weekend there you can buy the fellas a few pies and a few cold beersies.

32:07Mike Minogue:I actually think that's a fantastic idea. Share the love mate. If I was you mate, I'd go into your boss's office and I'd tell him you'd quit because you're rich brother. He owes me a few beers and pies. Yeah. This guy gets it. This guy is getting it. Good on you Rob. We'll put you out of your misery mate. See, God, I bet when he caught up, he didn't realise it would be chatting to us for about three minutes. Jeez, that's a shocking bastard. You couldn't shut him up, man.

32:31Keyzie:It is a beautiful stretch of water down there, though, isn't it, fellas? 100 % man. Really, really, I love driving into Tauranga there and seeing the port. Yeah, it means it drives over. The sparkling sort of ocean there and the little hill in the background. It's a mount. It's called The Mount. The little mountain in the background there. Yeah, Mowol. So very nice.

32:54Mike Minogue:Big shout out to Dad's Pies. They proudly bake award-winning pies for pie-loving New Zealanders. Plenty more cash to be won all throughout the day, every single day here at Hauraki. Oh, God. For old Bear and Pie July there. That was going so good. No, it wasn't. The whole thing was a dog's breakfast.

33:13Keyzie:Yes, she is.

33:14Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

33:20Keyzie:Yes, indeed. R.E.M. there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show. this Thursday evening. The time is exactly 5.49. And, Mogi, this is really a question for you, actually. And I appreciate that it's slightly outside the box. Yeah. But take it for what it is. When you're making love,

33:50Keyzie:does your cat watch you? Birdshit Chris Oh, my cat, Birdshit Chris Birdshit Chris Absolutely Can I say as well Has come to love it How do you know? My follow up question to that question is Is that all G? Well it takes a lot of training Because most of the time their instinct is to not watch

34:23Mike Minogue:So you've trained your cat to watch? Yeah.

34:29Mike Minogue:Why?

34:33Just to broaden her horizons.

34:37Mike Minogue:Or hers. Well, it's a she, though, isn't it? Cats are, you know, are a curious animal. I just... Not as curious as they are keen to bail when you start making love.

34:52Keyzie:It's just I Wait Does your cat do that? Well I mean Unlike Mogey It's not a scenario That I've trained Jizz for Um Jizz being the name of your cat Jizz I just I just noticed It one night While it was happening And I went oh Oh that's a bit That's weird. That's weird, yeah. But is that all G? No, I think it's normal. Well, I mean, for animals, animals, it's just... I think any animal watches any animal. For example, if you're walking down the street and you see a couple of cats going at it, you're not going to not watch. You're not going to not watch. Yeah, I know you. You're going to be locked on.

35:42Me or Moggy? If I know you, Giz, and I think I do, if you're walking down the street and you saw a couple of dogs going at it,

35:55you'd put your plans off for the day. Put it that way.

36:01You'd put your whole day aside. Put it that way. You'd get your new phone out, that's for sure. Put it that way. Put it that way, man.

36:12Mike Minogue:So does that answer your question, man? You'd be loving it. I'll tell you that much for free. Hello. There he is. Did that answer your question? I'm not sure.

36:30Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

36:36Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're having an absolutely tremendous Thursday evening. You're listening to The Big Show, by the way, brought to you by Reburgu.

36:45Mike Minogue:Serving good times and good food. Dine in and take away Reburger today.

36:50Keyzie:Reburger.

36:54Good work, man.

36:55Mike Minogue:Thank you. I'm doing something fun for dinner tonight, guys. Yeah, tell us about it. Go on, man. So you know yesterday how I had like a store-bought tray lasagna? Oh, yes. Oh, yeah. So we ate half of that. Save the rest. So we saved the rest for tonight. Yeah. But then we remembered that my wife's mother, my mother-in-law, had made some lasagna earlier in the year, frozen it, and it's in our freezer. And so we were like, why don't we get that out and then have a lasagna off? So we're going to go home and have two different types of reheated lasagna. God, you know how to live. We're going to have half each, half and half of the homemade one.

37:37Mike Minogue:Yeah, I get it. So you're going to basically have a scenario

37:41Keyzie:with the fridge stuffed with the leftover lasagna for the next week. No, no, there won't be any lasagna left over

37:53Mike Minogue:because I'll make lasagna toasties tomorrow.

37:57Keyzie:Yeah. I played golf with Keezy this morning, Mogi. Yeah. God, the lasagna, Bell. He was ripping. And it was...

38:11Mike Minogue:Jase. What was it? You can bail out of this yarn right now if you want, man. Jase? It was just really distracting. This half-ass Keezy had lasagna bough yarn. We can just bail straight out of it. No, no. We can play some Kings of Leon. Nice. I want to hear the end of this.

38:26Keyzie:And what you've got to understand about the golf course that we play in is very like a It's an amphitheater. Yeah, it's an amphitheater. Yeah. Stick the landing, Jase. Stick the landing. So you've just got this reverberating lasagna bough going around the golf course. Do you remember?

38:42Mike Minogue:and way down, we were up the top of the hill and way down the far end of the valley was a tree full of... Birds. What are those native birds? Tui. No, no, the big ones. Wood pigeon. Keterdu? Keterdu, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the lasagna bough just echoed down. Yeah. And then just this whole giant tree full of them just took flight. Wow. And on the other side of the valley there was like a rock slip. Okay, that's enough. I didn't cause a landslide from eating lasagna. Jase? Jay, stop cracking up and throw to the song, please. Here's Kings of Leon. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

39:23Keyzie:It's all there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening. The time is 14 minutes past six o 'clock, which means it's time for...

39:35Mike Minogue:What's on the news? With me, Casey. Huge news, fellas. Have you heard of the town of Tiro? Yes, I have. It's got the corrugated sheep dog. That's right. Corrugated sheep dog, a sheep and a ram. Well, the exciting news is that those three buildings are up for sale. Oh. All three of them. They're iconic. 61 to 63 Main Road, Tiro and South Waikato there. Jase, are you familiar with the buildings?

40:07Keyzie:Yes, I know exactly where. On the left-hand side as you're driving through, heading south.

40:11Mike Minogue:That's right. Right, and you drive through and it's the corrugated Irontown. Yeah. And those, apparently, they're the biggest unconfirmed corrugated sheep buildings in the world. Yeah, nobody else is bothered. Yeah, well, they've tried, but they just can't match the scale. Oh, I don't think that's true. How much are they going for, Keezy? Well, that's the thing. They're going up for auction. Oh. Comes with 2 ,100 square metres of land there, right on the side of the State Highway. How good. It's handy so you can get out of T-Row. Yeah, 100%. The combined sort of footprint of the buildings is just over 500 square metres.

40:49Mike Minogue:So plenty of room to do so. You could lease out all three of the buildings to three different businesses.

40:53Keyzie:Why don't you, when you sell your house, buy up in T-Row? T-Row.

41:02Mike Minogue:Well, I don't really want to live down there, man. It's pretty far from the station. You'll be right. That'd be sweet as, man. Well, it's like a two-hour drive, isn't it? There's technology. When it comes to these buildings, Keezy, what do we got there? We got a dog. We got a sheep. What else have we got? A ram. A ram. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's three of them. I remember driving through there late one night. We were coming back from Dope Boy. Had a big holiday. And the sheep and the ram were going hammering tongs. The building? I swear to God. The two buildings? Really? No. And that's sort of further to our point earlier on, Jase, is if you see animals going at it, you stop and you have a look.

41:42But two buildings. You definitely do.

41:44Keyzie:Is that why there's now a third building?

41:47Mike Minogue:That's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So the corrugated sheep and the corrugated ram did the business just so happened to be the same night Mogi was driving past and they made a sheepdog. So if you're a smart businessman, you'd encourage them to do it again and make more buildings. Well, the thing about Liz, I don't know what it's like where you grew up, but to me that sounds like magic. and if you get a property with a bit of magic in it, Jase, you're home and hosed. Imagine that. Buildings that build themselves. And make other buildings. They spawn other buildings. What do you reckon, Jase?

42:24Keyzie:I think that, Keezy, is the best news with me, Keezy, you've ever done.

42:31Mike Minogue:Really? Yeah. Thank you. It's interesting, right?

42:34Keyzie:Yeah, well, who's ever heard of buildings spawning another building?

42:37Mike Minogue:No, that was Mogi. No, my news was that they're for sale. That was my news. So you're saying that that was good news or that Mogi seeing two buildings doing it, that's good news? Well, I think Mogi saved it in that case. Oh, okay, sweet. Yeah, cool. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

42:58Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Tom Petty there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening. The time is 24 minutes past six o 'clock.

43:06Mike Minogue:Fellas, how do you pie? How do you pie? It's a good question. It's a good question in this pear and by July. I eat quite a lot of pies. I'm a big pie guy. I'll have them any which way I can, but I don't do them the way Jase does. Now, Jase, you have a family pie with mash.

43:28Keyzie:Oh, can I just reiterate here? That's the first time in a long time. Well, that's not true. Had one last week. Yeah, that was the first family pie I've had in ages. And the reason for that is my daughter doesn't like pies. But she's off doing other stuff now. And then my wife and I were having a chat and we were like, you know what would be really yummy? Yes. A big pie with mash. Isn't that funny?

43:53Mike Minogue:When the cat's away, we get a pie. We get a pie. It's a mash taties. How do you pie, Keezy, there, man? It's a good question, Moggy. I love a family pie. My wife, early doors in our relationship, she went through a massive thing of making homemade pies, and they were delicious. Right. And now she's just stopped. I was brought up on the old B &E pie.

44:16Keyzie:That was a big feature of my family life. Yeah, the bacon and egg. Bacon and egg pie. Were you fellas big on the bacon and egg? I hate a bacon and egg, and I'll tell you why. It's got the little golf ball yolk in there, the hard bacon. Nah, you break it up. It depends if you break it or not. Chalky, disgusting. No, you've got to mix it up. Disgusting, bastard. Yeah, you mix it up. Foul, inedible. No, you mix it up, mogey. What about you, Keezer? You like them, man? Nah, they're disgusting. I tell you what, what I'm also fond of, pie-wise, is... Look, I'll happily eat a spinach and feta pie.

44:53Mike Minogue:What the hell's a spinach? What's a spinach?

44:55Keyzie:A spinach and feta pie. Oh, yes. Very nice. Yeah. Not really for me, to be honest with you. Not really for me.

45:04Mike Minogue:Oh, that's interesting. Why do you think that is? I prefer a meat. Now, for me, I'm a backbone, so I like a steak and a cheese. I don't mind one of those ones, Keezy, there that's got your jalapeno. Oh, yeah, like a jalapeno. I get that in my mouth and I'm like, hello. Yeah.

45:22Keyzie:Yeah. If I could just go outside the square here, I am very, very fond of your fish pie

45:33Mike Minogue:Gross

45:34Keyzie:With eggs in them With eggs in them With egg in it Like fish eggs No, that's not good No, not fish eggs Because they have that ball, the yolks or ball It's all chalky in there

45:46Mike Minogue:Yeah, but Mo, you can mix it in I love that The reason we're having this amazing discussion is because We want to know how do you eat your dad's pies, New Zealand. If you snap a photo or shoot a video and share it on your socials and tag Hodaki and Dad's Pies or go to hodaki.co.nz or slide into our DMs or something, you can win a year's supply of pie. Have you ever eaten a pie in the shower, Keezy? I bet you have, you sicko. Yeah, yeah, I've eaten a pie in the shower, yeah, yeah. Have you, Jase? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Have you, Mogi? Come on, Keezy, man. It's a good question, though.

46:30Keyzie:Tomato sauce, of course, for all those parts.

46:32Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah, totally. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

46:44Keyzie:Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's the big show done and dusted this Thursday evening. What an interesting show it's been We've covered all the bases today Yes indeed Some people might not know this But before every live radio show We do a little podcast called The Podcast Outro Which is just the fellas having a bit of a 10-15 minute yarn isn't it fellas It is

47:09Mike Minogue:It comes out at 7.30 tonight Search Haraki Big Show wherever you get your potties from Here's a clip from today's It's entitled Piss Money

47:18Keyzie:How much would you spend a week on Piskiesy? F*** your fun account Yeah, I'd say He's not drinking much at all this year He's meant to be the fun one out of this group Because we're old and we're over it Oh, he's still giving it a good night I'm the fun one No, no, no, no, no, no, no

47:34Mike Minogue:Yeah, so apparently I haven't been spending enough money on Beersies this year No, you haven't I'll work on it, fellas

47:40Keyzie:We were actually talking quite seriously about how costly it is, the old booze When you go out for a dinner and stuff If you get a couple of bottles of wine, we didn't talk about that at all. Oh.

47:50Mike Minogue:No, no, we didn't talk about that, but Mogi said he's going to cut down on his drinking and that should save him about two grand a week. Yeah, yeah, he did make that comment.

47:58Keyzie:Speaking of which, what are you up to tonight, Mogi? I'm probably going to wait for the podcast of the show to come out at 7.30. I want to go back and listen to that How Do You Pie break that we did today because, God, that was good. That was excellent. I'll get the missus to have a listen to that, and I always get my daughter up around about five in the morning and just, I'm teaching her how to radio at the moment. Yes. How to radio. Yeah, and she's loving it, man. And I think that pie break is a great example of how to radio.

48:20Mike Minogue:And if you're just tuning in and you missed it, Mogi's right, 7.30, the highlights of every single show come out after every show, so check out tonight's one. Yeah. How do you pie?

48:30Keyzie:So you're doing the double lasagna tonight, Keezy. You're really packing it in there.

48:35Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, I'll be hanging off the back of two lasagnas, doing a bit of a comparison between my mother-in-law's homemade one and the store-bought one. It's a fun little game my wife and I have played. Sounds like so much fun.

48:46Keyzie:If it turns out that the store-bought one is way better than your mother-in-law's, are you going to tell her that?

48:53Mike Minogue:Yes, but it won't be because the store-bought one was only okay. I am worried about your gut, skeezy. Are you? You're packing in a couple of lasagnas. Mate, I've been packing in lasagnas for years, man. It's all G. What are you doing tonight, Jase? Hot pot? Yeah, man. Good for you, man.

49:07Keyzie:I'm already salivating at the idea of it. I'm going to meet my lovely wife in town there Go off to a bit of hot pot action. Good for you, mate. Hey, now listen, check out the Instagram because there is a crap load going on there. Old Pugsan's been working his ass off. Oh, yeah. Also check out the podcast. Now tomorrow, of course, Friday. Everyone loves a Friday. The Friday Trubber, where you choose the songs from now on. Until then, though, see ya.

49:34Mike Minogue:Bye. Bye.
