0:16Keyzie:Oh g'day you mad boss. It's great to have your company on this moody Friday afternoon. It is the 29th of August 2025 and you my friends as always are listening to The Big Show brought to you by Reburger.
0:28Mike Minogue:Crave worthy street food freshly made with Reburger. G'day, Mogey. You're starting? You excited? Oh, man, I'm absolutely fizzing. You mad dog. You're 600. It's the final countdown, isn't it? It is. Yeah, mate. We're heading towards number one in the nothing but 90s countdown. And people are getting pretty excited about it. People are fizzing around the office. I tell you what, there's some absolutely hammered people out there. They've been celebrating too early. They've been preloading. None of them more than our old mate Keezy. How you going, brother? Oh, come on, Mike. You know I'm sober as a judge.
1:03I'm trying to think of somebody with a name Judge that's drunk, but I can't. Yeah. Damn it.
1:07Mike Minogue:And whenever I say something like that, then you guys just go silent. The audience might think that I'm lying. Right, okay. But I am sober as a judge.
1:14Keyzie:Well, I was just pondering what you were saying, Keezy. You know what I love about a countdown, fellas? What I really love about a countdown? That there's a winner at the end of it. That there's a winner at the end of it, but also there tends to be free food. Oh, yes. and chippies and dips and all that sort of stuff. Because I tell you what, there is a massive party going off at Radio Hodak. Oh, yeah, man. I mean, we love to party at the station, don't we? We sure do, mate. We know how to do it. Yeah. I'm not drunk.
1:42Mike Minogue:I'm worried people think I'm steamed, but I'm not. I'm sober. He is as sober as a church.
1:47Keyzie:Oh, a judge. A church. Hey, now, listen.
1:51Mike Minogue:Is that a thing? Okay.
1:52Keyzie:Keezy, shall we get back to the little countdown, shall we?
1:55Mike Minogue:The little countdown, the big countdown. Wake up and smell the 90s. Now. The nothing but 90s countdown on Hauraki. Thanks to Super Liquor. Celebrating 30 years of cheers. That's right, 30 years of Super Liquor. Heaps of deals in store at the moment and prizes as well. I believe we've got 12 tunes left to go. Feelers. Yeah. And no surprises who the next artist or band is. Oh. Yeah, so lock in.
2:22Keyzie:Join us for the afternoon. Get some chips, get some dips, get some cold beverages. It's going to be great fun. This is Nothing But 90s.
2:31Mike Minogue:Wake up and smell the 90s. On Radio Hauraki. Number 12. Nirvana. Come as you are. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
2:44Keyzie:Oh, yeah, baby. A bit of tool for you Friday afternoon. One of the things we've discovered, fellas, with our various countdowns across the year is our listeners love a bit of Tool action.
2:55Mike Minogue:They do, Jason. I can certainly speak to that song being 100 % sober. Earlier this year, Tool did in fact take out the Hauraki Fight Club. Yes, they did. I mean, there were a few upsets earlier in the Fight Club itself. The Fui's got knocked out early and the Chillies and things like that. But people were like, it's got to be the Chillies. It's got to be Nirvana. It's got to be Metallica. Tool took it out by a landslide.
3:16Keyzie:Yeah, it was a landslide, actually, wasn't it? It was, yes. It was quite a stunning victory. I was stoked, actually, because I like a bit of Tool. Do you? I get fired up. What's your favourite Tool album? They've got that kind of same energy as Rage. It just gets me pumped up for everyone listening to it. Yeah, it gets the blood pumping. Yeah, absolutely huge band, and that was a huge song when it came out in the 90s there. Maybe 93, 94, that one. I'll Google it, man. Just a little bit of a weird bunch of bastards they were, and very weird lives. Yes. But going on to very much do their own thing.
3:46the biggest album probably would have been Anima. And then... Anima? Oh, Anima. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry, I misheard you there, Mogey. And, of course, he's got Perfect Circle as well, does James Maynard Keenan. Yeah. But, yeah, just a great and very unique band.
4:03Mike Minogue:That song did come out in 1993 off the album Camel Toe. So they've been, you know, that's, what, 32 years old?
4:10Keyzie:Oh, I thought that was Moose Knuckle. Sorry, what did I say?
4:14Mike Minogue:Sorry, Under Toe. Oh, Under Toe.
4:16Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks for correcting me, Jason. No, that's all good, man. Hey, it's getting very exciting. We want to know on 3483, or you can give us a call on 0800HORAKI, where are you listening to the countdown? What are you doing? What are you doing? What's the set-up for you fellas at the moment? Let us know on 3483. And finish it off with what you reckon's going to be number one or even give us your top three.
4:36Mike Minogue:Thank you. Yeah, every text on 3483 and every call on 0800HORAKI in the draw for a$50 Reburger voucher. Let's get back to the countdown, fellas. The nothing but 90s countdown. on Radio Hauraki. Number 10, Oasis, Wonderwall. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
4:59Keyzie:Epic, eh, fellas? Guns.
5:05Keyzie:Rose is there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this blastery wet Friday afternoon. What are the people saying, Keezy, on 3483?
5:12Mike Minogue:That song came in at number nine, by the way. We're officially into the top 10. How about this text? Yeah, man. Holy balls, fellas. It just started raining when Guns N' Roses played. November rain. In Auckland, that's out of it. In Auckland specifically. It'd be amazing if the month changed to November at the same time. Oh, my mogey. Otherwise, it's sort of like. Mogey. Goosebumps right now. Yeah, man. I'm freaking out. I'm seriously freaking out. Hey, Tony, he knocked off early to come home and crank the top 20 for the neighbours. Oh, yeah, nice. Yeah, I thought I was going to say something else there.
5:44Mike Minogue:Worked all day listening to the countdown, then just began my five-hour road trip home. Also listening to the countdown. Oh. How good. Five-hour trip. That's a nice way to make it fly by. How about this? Listening to the countdown in the work car on route to Ohakune, three dudes and one chick pounding beers. Vibes are high. Yeah, man. That sounds awesome, man. That does sound like fun.
6:03Keyzie:There's nothing like a roadie listening to tunes, eh, fellas?
6:06Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
6:07Keyzie:And obviously the guy driving, he won't be pounding the beers. Obviously he'd be being very responsible.
6:13Mike Minogue:How do you know there was a guy driving?
6:15Keyzie:Well, because they said...
6:16Mike Minogue:That's sexist, man. Yeah, that's pretty... I'm sorry. God, my bad. That is far out, man. Guns N' Roses there, though. Do you reckon they're going to have any more that are higher than that or pretty much it's November rain? Is that its lock? I think I've heard all the big Guns N' Roses tunes, man. I'm just trying to rack my brain. Nah, I think we've had Paradise City... Wait, that was the 80s. Yeah. That's how you know we've had it. Let's go on that one. I feel... I feel a fool right now. As long as I can be that full, I'm keen.
6:46Keyzie:Hey, I feel they're done and dusted. That's my vibe. I may be wrong. The people may want more guns. Rotas. They weren't a big 90s band. They released one double album, the Use Your Illusion albums, in like 92, two, two for two, and then that was them. No more albums until Chinese Democracy about 20-odd years later. Did you ever see them live, Jase? I know you're a big fan. No, I didn't. It's one of the tragedies of my life. Yeah, man.
7:16Mike Minogue:That you haven't seen Guns N' Roses in a while.
7:17Keyzie:Well, actually, I did go to one of their gigs, but I got CP'd in the first five minutes, so I didn't really see it, technically.
7:23Mike Minogue:I got smacked over in the moshies. Yeah, yeah.
7:25Keyzie:That's the one we went to, remember, Mogi? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
7:27Mike Minogue:Skid Row was on there, yeah, yeah. Yes, yeah. It would be interesting, like, Guns N' Roses are one of those bands, especially in their heyday. I have seen clips of them performing live songs on YouTube back in the day. Oh, my God. Axl sounds amazing. Yeah. And it would be really interesting to go back and see them in their prime and see just what they sounded like. Yeah. Because you can go see them now and it just does not sound the same. No, I saw them in 93, and then I saw them in, was it 2014 or something? Oh, yeah. So I saw them in Auckland, Wellington, and then went over to Sydney to see them as well.
8:00And certainly Axel's voice is not quite the same.
8:03Mike Minogue:Here's a question about Guns N' Roses. Is it Axel that's doing that, I'll get up around seven. Get up around nine. Is that him doing two different voices? Yeah, it is. He's got his deep cool voice.
Read the full transcript
8:13Keyzie:Well, you remember when we were talking to the great Jimmy Barnes the other day, fellas, and he was talking about vocal cords, and he uses his secondary vocal cords, whereas Axl probably uses his primary vocal cord, thus it's rooted. Yeah.
8:25Mike Minogue:Yeah.
8:26Keyzie:I mean, I can see me, you know, getting to that stage in a few years' time where my vocals are getting a bit shaky on it, you know what I'm saying, fellas?
8:34Mike Minogue:A stadium of thousands have turned up to see Hoity J. Exactly.
8:36Keyzie:A live big show in old Hoity J, and they plaster it all over YouTube.
8:41Mike Minogue:And then it's like, oh, man, he doesn't sound the same anymore. Yeah, he's lost it. Keezy still sounds awesome, though. Hey, more of the Countdown coming up next. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
8:55Keyzie:Yes, indeed, into Sandman. Metallica there coming in at a rollicking number eight, fellas.
9:00Mike Minogue:That's right. It is the nothing but 90s Countdown celebrating Superlicker turning 30. So we're rewinding things 30-odd years. A massive Countdown. It's been going for the entire week, and it all wraps up today on the big show, which is exciting. People are texting in on 3483 where they are, what they're doing. What are they saying? Cheers, Mogey. How about this one, fellas, on 3483? Yeah. Tuning in during my MRI scan, fellas. Backbone.
9:26Keyzie:No, you're a massive backbone. That's good stuff, man. Totally.
9:29Mike Minogue:About to get plastered for the number one song, fellas, and then he's just texting underneath that responsibly. Responsibly. Yeah, responsibly.
9:35Keyzie:Well, yeah, that's a dangerous kind of thing. because you could then miss it. You'll doze off on the couch after doing it responsibly and then go, oh, you'll wake up an hour later and you've missed it. The trick is to hold a beer or some other drink in your hand so that as you're dozing, you'll sort of drop the beer into your lap and that'll wake you up. Yeah, smart. Can I just also add here, Kesey, when the people are texting and telling us what they're doing and where they're listening to the countdown, also what they're wearing because I really want to get a full picture here.
10:06Mike Minogue:It seems a bit creepy.
10:07Keyzie:What they're wearing.
10:09Mike Minogue:Right. And that's on 3483. Or not wearing. And that's on 3483. And every text in the drawer for a$50 Reburger voucher. Just on Metallica there, fellas, who came in at number eight. They were famously my best ever concert before Billy Joel. Before Billy Joel, yeah. In 2021, I think it was, or 22. It was 2009 or 10 up here in Auckland. I was living in Tauranga at the time. Me and all my high school mates were a year out of college. We all jumped into my 1989 Holden Commodore. We drove up to Auckland. We booked somewhere to stay that was ridiculously expensive. I didn't know where to park, so I just parked in a parking building in the centre of Auckland.
10:48Mike Minogue:It was like, I'll just pick that up tomorrow, sweet as. Went to the concert, pretty much no money, but got steamed responsibly. Had a really good time. Went to pick up my car the next day. It was like$120. Yeah. And I couldn't take it out of the car parking building, so I had to ring my mum and dad, Mon and Don.
11:03Keyzie:Was that when you were running your cornrows with beads?
11:08Mike Minogue:Yeah, it was in my cornrow phase. Yes. Because I was pretty big on Sean Paul at the time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And ludicrous. Yeah.
11:15Keyzie:I would so love to see a pic of that time, Keezy. Yeah, it's weird. None of them exist, Jase. I wonder why. You're going to have to get in contact with your mum and dad. I bet they've got some tucked away somewhere. Absolutely, absolutely. Hey, should we get back to it, fellas? I think so. Number seven. The nothing but 90s countdown on Radio Horaki. Number seven, red hot chilli peppers under the bridge.
11:37Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
11:42Keyzie:June, fellas. June, Soundgarden there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show. This Friday afternoon, the time is five minutes to five. Now the top five, fellas, the nitty-gritty after five. Are you excited? Are you pumped? Are you fizzing? Frothing.
11:57Mike Minogue:I'm excited, Jase. I'm also excited to celebrate Super Liquor on their 30th birthday. Oh, I was thinking about that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't forget, if you're hitting store this week, there's plenty of deals. And also, you can win prizes as well. Yeah. Celebrate. But yes, the top five coming up after five. Righto. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
12:22Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're having a fantastic Friday. You're listening to The Big Show brought to you by Reburger.
12:28Mike Minogue:Serving good times and good food. Dine in or takeaway at Reburger today. Reburger.
12:37Keyzie:And we're getting to the nitty gritty on the countdown now. The final five is voted by you, the people.
12:44Mike Minogue:Bloody oath, Jase. I love your fizz, mate. I'm fizzed up. Don't worry about that. I love where your head's at. Don't forget to keep the text coming on 3483 where you are listening to the podcast. Not the podcast. The countdown. What you're doing. And also, Jase is being a bit creepy. He wants to know what you're wearing as well. Yes. So keep those texts coming through on 3483. In the meantime. Wake up and smell the 90s. Now. The nothing but 90s countdown on Hauraki. Thanks to Super Liquor. Celebrating 30 years of cheers. That's right, 30 years of Super Liquor in store this week. Heaps of deals and also heaps of prizes to be won as well.
13:18Mike Minogue:Should we get back into it? Yeah, I think so. Crack into it there, Keezy. Let's go. It comes from back in the 90s. The nothing but 90s countdown on Radio Hauraki. Five. Rage against the machine. Killing in the name of. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Oh, Jim!
13:39Keyzie:Jim!
13:40Mike Minogue:James! He's a machine there coming in at a whopping number five, fellas. That's right, it's a nothing but 90s countdown. Four songs left. Oh, man! Scary stuff, isn't it? I would have thought, actually, that I thought that would have had a better chance of finishing in the top. Three. No, one. Oh, at number one? At number one. That's got to, you know, I've already made my selection. I'm not going to go back there. But I feel like that one is a pretty 90s song. Yeah. You know what I mean?
14:05Keyzie:I've got a feeling, Moggy, since you've been at Radio Hauraki, because you love a bit of rage, that you've infected our audience with a love of rage. I mean, I used to like them back in the day, you know, but not massively. And now I just rock out all the time. Is that true? I do, actually. Well, Jase doesn't like anything with a drum kit in it. You know, he prefers something sort of that sounds like the ocean or whatever. Yeah, like a synthesizer or something like that. If it doesn't have a cello, I'm out. When I'm going home, I turn that shit up.
14:37Mike Minogue:Yeah, totally. Because I was under the impression that you hadn't actually heard of Rage Against the Machine until you started working at Hodaki. Were you under that impression, were you? I don't know why, just the vibe I was, you know. Is that wrong? Yeah, it's totally wrong. I do love Rage Against the Machine. Yeah, it's a mad dog. Yeah, just checking, just checking. Hey, fellas, of course, we've got the nothing but 90s countdown happening at the moment. Today is also daffodil day. We've teamed up with ANZ to raise money for the Cancer Society. If you head to Hauraki's socials, we're talking Facebook and Instagram, you can catch up with all the latest from the Hauraki Ping Pong Champs.
15:07Mike Minogue:I versed a woman today in the first two, three sets. She smoked me. Turns out she's represented New Zealand and Germany at table tennis. Wow. Absolutely demolished me. And you're quite unco. And I'm quite unco, Jase. Yeah, totally. Because I don't beat you constantly on every play. If you want to see us playing doubles as well, check out the Hauraki Big Show's Instagram story, the whole big show they're getting stuck in. And if you'd like to make an instant$3 donation, text the word donate right now to 3493, and all that will go to the Cancer Society. Yeah, bloody good cause.
15:38Keyzie:Make sure you do it. And as the fellas on breakfast were saying this morning, you know, use someone else's phone if you can't do it on yours. Just find a phone and make a donation. 3493. There we go.
15:52Mike Minogue:I've just been firing the bastards off. Why are you straining so much? Let's get back to the countdown, fellas. Number four, and let me just say, this is huge. Yeah. This is a huge result for this particular band slash artist. My job is to acclimatise you to the 90s. This is nothing but 90s on Radio Hauraki. Number four, Ozzy Osbourne. Mama, I'm coming home. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
16:22Keyzie:Well, it had to happen, didn't it, fellas? The great Ozzy Osbourne sadly passing this year. I'm coming, Mama, I'm coming home. Coming in at number four.
16:30Mike Minogue:That's right. The most text votes today, this afternoon, while we've been on air, have been for Ozzy Osbourne, Mama, I'm coming home. That's crazy, isn't it? It is. Obviously, he's been back in the news, passing away tragically a few weeks ago. There and there. And it makes people think, oh, man, he's got some tunes here. And the albums always go straight up the charts, don't they? Yes. You know, straight back to number one and all that sort of thing. is people re-familiarise themselves with the old hits there. Relive. Relive the old days. It's two interesting strategies. I didn't stutter because I'm steamed.
17:01Mike Minogue:I want to be clear about that. All right. It just sounds normal to me now when you do that. No, no, no. I'm not steamed, all right?
17:08Keyzie:That's cool, man. It's cool. It's not cool. None of us even mentioned you being steamed.
17:12Mike Minogue:Yeah, but I just can tell when I stutter that you guys are like, oh, here we go, Kesey's steamed. What I was saying is that - What were you saying? I can't remember. No, I can't. I can't. They're two interesting strategies.
17:29Mike Minogue:You know what? I had a great yarn. Played it next to all, man. It's good at yarn. That yarn sucked. This is nothing but 90s on Radio Hauraki. Number three, Foo Fighters, Everlong. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
17:48Keyzie:Number three on the countdown there. The Foo Fighters had to be again, fellas. Ever long. They're always in the top five, aren't they, Foo Fighters? They are. They are. But they've had many, many number ones. There's actually a bit of a backlash against them because a lot of people like it. But, jeez, don't we get some texts about people hating the song and hating the Fooies? Fellas, you don't have to like everything.
18:07Mike Minogue:What I've noticed, Mogey, especially on the text machine, is people hate success. The Foo Fighters are successful. They're bagging the Foo Fighters, Rage Against the Machine, and old Mogey. Yeah, old Mogey. No, that's, yeah. The theory's not always accurate. I was going to say, even the big show gets hate texts sometimes. So some people are just crazy.
18:26Keyzie:Well, you see, this is why I never get hate, because I've never been successful. That's true. You know what I mean?
18:31Mike Minogue:Because your computer's turned off, so you can't get the text machine.
18:34Keyzie:Yeah, well, that's part of it.
18:35Mike Minogue:Yeah, yeah, yeah. Two songs to go, fellas. Everlong by the Foo Fighters. 1997, Off the Colour and Shape, is not number one. I personally am happy. I'm not a huge Foo Fighters fan. I respect what they've done. They're bloody amazing. And Dave Grohl will be stoked to hear me say that. Yes. But I personally am stoked that while they're in the top three, they aren't number one.
18:55Keyzie:Sure.
18:55Mike Minogue:It's nice to mix it up a bit, isn't it?
18:57Keyzie:It certainly is. Well, you remember the reaction we got when Tool won last time. It was huge. It was seriously massive. And the other thing too. I was frothing. I was aroused in many, many ways. How many ways are there? I was turned on. How many ways are there? I was fired up. I went home that night and made love. I was so into it. Wasn't your wife away that night? Yes. This is nothing but 90s.
19:24Mike Minogue:Wake up and smell the 90s. On Radio Hauraki 2. Pearl Jam Black. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Oh, what a chance, fellas.
19:39Keyzie:I could seriously listen to that tune all day long, every day. Black by Pearl Jam. Coming in at number two. So close and yet so far, fellas.
19:49Mike Minogue:That's right. It's nothing but 90s countdown. Only one song remains. Big shout out to Superlicker, who are celebrating their 30-year birthday. It's huge. How bloody good. What do you reckon, Keezy? What's coming at number one? I know you've got your hopes. Yeah. Your dreams. We're having a bit of a chat offline. What do you reckon, man? You guys know that there's one band in particular I'm a huge fan of. Yes. And I haven't heard any of their songs yet. And I am like, there's no way that they would go to number one.
20:15Keyzie:I'll be honest with you, I'd be frothing if it was a bit of tool maybe, for example, you know what I mean? Because last time I was talking about they won the last competition and I went home and made love.
20:27Mike Minogue:Fells. What about you, Moggy?
20:32I've got something in my head that I hope it is, but what's been great about this countdown is I've been reminded of so many tunes that I'd completely forgotten about. Yes. And so at the start of this, we were asked to give you our top three songs of the 90s, which I did, and then the songs came out. You go, of course, I've completely forgotten about that.
20:50Mike Minogue:Yeah. That's what's good is the first 400 songs are songs I've forgotten about or hadn't heard before and was introduced to, and then the top 100 are good songs that I have heard a lot but love. Yes.
20:59Keyzie:So it's like a win-win, fellas. Genuinely, and I'll be honest here, I have loved this countdown. It has taken me back to my heyday, fellas. It's been magnificent.
21:08Mike Minogue:No, it's 90s, not 70s.
21:10Keyzie:Yeah, my heyday, Keezy. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. My heyday. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
21:14Mike Minogue:All right, fingers crossed, fellas. Here's number one. Somebody once told me the world is going to roll me. I ain't the sharpest call. Yeah, Smash Mouth. Woo-hoo-hoo. No, just joking. It's not Smash Mouth. There's a little joke, fellas.
21:30Keyzie:Hey, now, listen. Listen. That was a joke. All you people that voted, make sure you got your phones on. Oh, yes. All right, because after we get to the number one, we may be calling you with those extraordinary prizes.
21:46Mike Minogue:That's right. Here is officially your number one.
21:49Keyzie:Somebody. Nah, it's joking, it's joking. Horaki's nothing but 90s countdown. With only one song left, let's have a look back on how we got here. 10. Oasis. Wonderwall. You're my Wonderwall.
22:07Nine, Guns N' Roses, November Rain. And it's hard to hold a candle in the cold November rain. Eight, Metallica, Enter Sandman. Excellent, end of night. Number seven, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Under the Bridge.
22:36Number six, Soundgarden, Black Hole Sun.
22:49Five, Rage Against the Machine, Killing in the Name Of.
22:58Number four, Ozzy Osbourne, Mama I'm Coming Home.
23:08Number three, Foo Fighters, Everlong.
23:17Two, Pearl Jam, Black. All been washed in black
23:27Mike Minogue:Tattooed everything
23:33After 499 songs and thousands of your votes We arrive at the moment that changed everything A track that didn't just define the 90s It detonated it It cracked the mainstream wide open Unleashing a wave of raw emotion, distortion and defiance It became the anthem of The Outsider A rallying cry for a generation that didn't want to be understood, just heard. Number one in the Radio Hauraki nothing but 90s countdown. Nirvana smells like teen spirit.
24:06Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
24:12Keyzie:Well, there it is, New Zealanders. Voted by you, the people. Nirvana smells like teen spirit. It had to be. It had to be. It had to be. It is the tune that defined the decade, you'd have to say. Everything changed when that song came out. Remember it very distinctly, sitting at home, on TV. It may have entered the charts at number one. Yes. But remember seeing that video clip for the first time, and I was on board right from the start. Bloody, bloody beautiful. I remember listening to an interview with Bono from U2, and he said when he first heard them, he was like, what the hell is this? He said it just blew everyone apart.
24:48Keyzie:It was amazing.
24:49Mike Minogue:Wow, I can't really remember it because 1991, that's the year I was born. Yeah. Great things happen. Yeah, a lot of good stuff happening all at once, obviously. Yes. But certainly, despite being born the same year it came out, I feel like I have listened to that song and Nirvana as a band a lot more than any of the bands in my current, you know, that would more match my age. Yes, absolutely. And it was also right at the start of the decade. So as you say, Keezer, it was 1991. So the whole album came out that year. Nirvana, Nevermind, Pearl Jam 10, Soundgarden, Bad Motorfinger, Red Hot Chili Peppers had Blood Sugar Sex Magic.
25:24Temple of the Dog came out, Smashing Pumpkins with Gish, Metallica, Metallica, the Guns N' Roses Usual Illusion double album. So a pretty bloody good year. Really good year. All of that stuff comes out and it just completely changes the face of music because up until that point it's been like glam rock, hair rock, all that sort of stuff. And overnight, pretty much without a word of a lie, all of that music died and was gone. Yes. So cool.
25:47Keyzie:Great stuff. Now, listen, speaking of great stuff, we asked you to vote on 3483. And, well, it wasn't on 3483, was it? It was on 3483. Yeah.
25:57Mike Minogue:And then you went to the thing. Then you went to the thing, and then you told us what your favourite songs of the 90s were.
26:01Keyzie:Yeah. And we have got an absolute smorgasbord of prizes, don't we, Keezy?
26:07Mike Minogue:That's right. We are taking you back to the 90s with this prize pack. You get some Doc Martens. You get Chuck Taylors as well, depending on what your footwear styles were at the time. You get a classic 90s Casio watch. You get a classic-looking boombox speaker. You get a retro gaming console from the time as well, a replica 95 Warriors jersey. You also get a Fender guitar from the 90s and$1 ,000 cash. Cash, cash, cash.
26:32Keyzie:Shall we give our winner a call, shall we?
26:34Mike Minogue:Absolutely. This person got themselves in the draw by texting through, by voting for their top three songs, and as a result are now getting a call. Here we go. Big show with some free stuff. Here we go, guys. Hopefully they've got their phone on. This is the phone ringing. That noise you can hear, Chase? Yeah, totally. That's a phone ringing. Big shout out to Super Liquor, by the way, for making this all possible. Yeah, yeah. What up? Kieran's ringing.
26:58Keyzie:Yeah, g'day, Kieran. It's Hoity J, Mogey and Keezy from the Big Show. How are you going, you mad bastard?
27:04Mike Minogue:G'day, fellas. How are you getting on? Yeah, good. Good, thanks. Hey, Kieran, man, what do you do for a crust? I am, at the moment, I'm throwing on roofs. Yeah. and in the summertime I'm driving my tractor. You know what that is, Kieran? Because you're a goddamn backbone, that's why, mate. Yeah, yeah, tractoring one half of the air, roofing the other half of the air, it's an amazing car.
27:29Keyzie:Yeah, that is total backbone. Now tell me, Kieran, what were your three packs? That is a great question. I know one of them was Creed, my own prisms. Oh, yeah.
27:41Mike Minogue:I'll give you a hot little tip. That's what drew my eye to his entry. also estranged by Guns N' Roses and Blaze of Glory by Jon Bon Jovi. Oh, how good. Yes, that's right. Yeah, how good. I don't actually know where they came because I've been stuck with my kids indoor cricket. Oh, you mean you've got to hang out with your kids, man. It's an honour. It's tough, isn't it? Kieran, you'd be happy to know that Creed took out the number one spot, bro. Well done, you picked it. Oh, I have seen it. I have seen it like a big bogey. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Chance of that happening. Kieran, congratulations, man.
28:09Mike Minogue:Because you voted in the countdown, but kids, you helped us out. you've won that massive 90s prize pack, which includes a whole heap of prizes, including an electric guitar, a Waz jersey, and$1 ,000 cash, bro. Holy crap. How good. How good, mate? How good? Good for your Friday, Kieran. Not every day you win a Fender, mate. No, definitely not. You know how to play the guitar, man? Absolutely not. Yeah, that's the one, man. It'll look good on your wall, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
28:35Keyzie:It'll be like me on the piano there, Kieran. Don't worry about it. Except cooler.
28:38Mike Minogue:Yeah, that's the one.
28:39Keyzie:Can I say, Kieran, with 90s, your heyday?
28:43Mike Minogue:Yeah, I was born 85 So definitely the 90s Are my heyday
28:47Keyzie:Yeah, similar to old Hoity J Hey, listen You're back, man You enjoy that prize Stay on the line And old Pugsun and Studio B Will sort you out, alright?
28:56Mike Minogue:Yeah, see Alright, thank you very much
28:58Keyzie:No worries, mate
28:59Mike Minogue:Bloody ripper, fellas The Hauraki Big Show Weekdays from 4 On Radio Hauraki
29:05Keyzie:The Pixies there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show This glorious Friday afternoon and I always feel slightly drained after a big afternoon like that. Fellas, big countdown. I'm spent. Yeah, totally.
29:17Mike Minogue:Gross. Fellas, just quickly, and this is super important, tonight, a bit of admin this year. Nobody really needs to know, but this year I set up my own media company, which I now operate through, right? Man, look at you. Yeah, it's a big step forward. What's it called? No, I'm not saying. And tonight I'm taking out a couple of clients for dinner. Oh, okay. There's people who have got me work in the past and I've got a great relationship with. and it was just about time that I said thank you by taking them out. So it's a client dinner. Sure, sure. So they've hired you for jobs. They've paid you X amount of money.
29:49You want to say it's appreciated around at Keezy's Media Company.com? That's the one. How did you get the name? And so you're going to take them out for a night on the town?
29:57Mike Minogue:So I'm going to take them out, yeah, 100 % for a night on the town. I've budgeted a certain amount so that we can go out and have a good time. Yeah, nice. But I've never hosted clients before. I'm not super tight with them. I've got a good relationship. But, you know, this is proper chitty chat. we're going to be having. Yeah, yeah. Like business chitty chat. No, but just more friends chit chat. Like, hey, friends, what have we got in common? How's business? How's business? Yeah. That is great, Mogi. Yeah. And I assume you guys would have done this sort of thing a lot. Oh, yeah. I certainly should have.
30:26Mike Minogue:Yeah. Yes. This has actually given me a great idea for what things I could be doing with my business. Yeah, it's a bloody great idea. Do you reckon you guys could just maybe prep me for the big dinner? Oh, yeah. Can you just play a couple of clients if that's all good? Sure. Now, what business are we in? Media. Keezymedia.com. Let's say, yeah. So I'm in media. I'm me, Keezy, from Keezymedia.com. Keezy, yeah. Keezymedia. And you guys are clients from various places that would use my media company. We don't work at the same place. No, two different places. Oh, different clients. I love it. That's what's interesting.
31:01Mike Minogue:Wow.
31:02Keyzie:And you're paying for us to come out and just have a good time.
31:05Mike Minogue:Okay, so we're meeting outside the restaurant. Okay.
31:10Mike Minogue:Oh, g'day, guys. Nice to see you. How you going? G'day, Keezy. How are you, mate? Yeah, g'day. Really good, thank you. Lovely to see you.
31:18Keyzie:Good to see you, Keezy. How you going, mate? Sorry, I ran into Jeff here. Is there any jacket on me? Yeah, you're good, Jeff. Yeah, good on you, mate. Good on you, mate. Jeff, pick up your jacket, man. I ran into Jeff. He's had a few beers before he got here. Yeah, sorry, fellas. Sorry about this, mate.
31:37Mike Minogue:Oh, is this Jeff that's been part of hiring me? Oh, my goodness, because we've never met. No. Hi, Jeff. Nice to meet you. I'm Keezy.
31:43Keyzie:Yeah, Keezy. I actually wanted to go. Jace, Jace. Sorry, Jace. Cut, cut. What?
31:50Mike Minogue:I don't think that my clients are going to show up drunk already. But just in case they do.
31:54Keyzie:No, totally. Thank you. So then Jace has got it covered if he's hammered and I'm sober. That's right. And can I just say, have you not worked in advertising? It's not advertising. That's okay. It's Keezy's globalmedia.com. Yeah, I know, but we hired him to do our stuff.
32:07Mike Minogue:Oh, yeah. Right, so you're going to maintain the... I reckon we'll try it sober. Fine. Okay, fine. It's your dinner. All right. G'day, guys. Nice to see you. Thanks for coming. Thanks for accepting the invitation. No worries, mate. G'day, Christopher. How are you going? You all right? Yeah, g'day. Geoff, isn't it? We've never met. Yeah, g'day, mate. So what was... Are you... Tony. Tony, mate. Oh. Where are we going, by the way? Sorry, what's up with Tony? Is he... What do you mean? I can hear what you're saying, mate. Why didn't we... Nothing happened to me. Why were we thinking it happened to me?
32:41Mike Minogue:Guys, sorry. Can we just cut again? Is that okay?
32:46Keyzie:What's wrong with that, Keezy?
32:47Mike Minogue:Well, I just... I really want this to be like a realistic situation and for some reason, Tony and Jeff, was it?
32:55Keyzie:I can't remember, mate. I was pissed.
32:57Mike Minogue:Actually, you know what? Just flag it. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
33:05Keyzie:Yes, indeed. The Minchicks there to finish off the hour. Great tune there, by the way, fellas. Hey, now listen. Coming up after 6 o 'clock, we're going to be talking to Pax Asadi because the new show, Taskmaster, well, it's not a new show. It's an old show, but it's back on. Yes. Taskmaster with our very own Jeremy Wells. He was a contestant on it. Jeremy Wells? Yeah. And he hosted it. Oh, sorry. He hosted it. Sorry. And Pax was a contestant on it. Oh, yeah.
33:28Mike Minogue:It's called Taskmaster, eh, Jase? Yeah. It's on TVNZ at the moment. Season 6. Pax Asadi coming in. Great comedian. I've never met the bloke very excited. Yeah. He seems like a nice chap. Nice fella. Yeah. Also, Jase, you haven't done poos in a while. Is that what you want to chat about after six? Sorry?
33:45Mike Minogue:The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
33:51Keyzie:It is the biggest show and it's brought to you by Reeberger. So certainly is, Jase. Craveworthy. Whoa, I didn't know you could beatbox.
33:58Mike Minogue:What, so certainly is?
34:00Keyzie:So certainly. That will make a great sting, Pugs.
34:03Mike Minogue:So certainly will. Like it was relatively humorous, but it wasn't like, Bogey's pissing himself right now because I said so certainly. Anyway, yeah, crave-worthy street food, freshly made with Reburger. Spiguin. And that was Spiguin. I've just thought about people that are listening to our show for the first time. They have no idea what's going on. No idea what's going on. They hear from the countdown. I'll tell you what, if you are a first-time listener, just stick around. eventually some of it may make sense. Yeah, probably not. Jase, coming up this hour, Pax Asati's in. Yes. It says here on the sheet, the planning sheet, that you haven't done poos in a while and you want to chat about it.
34:45Mike Minogue:Are we doing that next? What's going on? No, we're speaking to Pax, aren't we?
34:49Keyzie:I can see him out there.
34:50Mike Minogue:No, no, no. No, he's out there, but he's scheduled in for the break after that. Oh.
34:55Keyzie:I just feel like, I mean, it doesn't sound like the sort of thing I put in a chat sort of conversation. Doesn't it? No. And I'm very regular with my poos.
35:04Mike Minogue:Right, okay, because you don't want to chat about that?
35:06Keyzie:Well, I mean, I can if people want me to.
35:09Mike Minogue:Nah, we're all good, actually.
35:12Keyzie:Hey, we could have a bit of Waz chat, actually. Yeah, that's a good idea, man. Because I'm fired up about that tonight. Yeah, I'm more fired up than you.
35:18Mike Minogue:Yeah, you know what? That's a great idea. In excess, fellas? Doosh, doosh, doosh. I think so. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
35:28Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Shee Hard there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Friday evening. Hey, if you want to win the TAB Big Bet, give us a call right now on 0800 Hauraki, why don't you?
35:37Mike Minogue:That's right. We get$100 bonus cash to put on one of two bets. You give us a call, 0800 Hauraki. Tell us which one of those bets you'd like us to place. While we wait for those calls to come through on 0800 Hauraki, Mogey, should we chat some waas, man? I'd love to, man. Time to chat footy with me, Keezy. What are the warriors up to? The waas are taking on the... Oh, sorry, you go, Josh.
36:01Keyzie:I was going to say playing the Eels, that's about as much as I know. Yeah, man.
36:05Mike Minogue:Sorry, man, this is Waz Chat. Oh, sorry, fellas. No, you're all good, man. I'm just joking. Eight o 'clock tonight, which is in just over an hour. Oh, it's an hour and 45 minutes away. They're taking on the Eels at a very wet Mount Smart Stadium. The Warriors are running out of steam. They're running out of troops. They are limping to the finals. They've got the mana, though. I believe in them. I think they will win. I think it will be a close, low-scoring affair, and there will be no less than 20 points scored. I reckon we'll put 40 on them. Wow. I hope so. Look, I think this Waz side's turned it around in the last week or so.
36:38Hoere, Joe, they've convinced me, brother. And what I'm seeing there is exactly that, Keezy. It's mana. You can see mana. I can. Wow. I can see it in their eyes. Yeah. You can see it in their body language, the way they play for each other, mate. I'm loving the fact that we've got Rocco Berry back at centre. He's really shored up that right-edge defence, and God knows we needed it. I reckon we're going to absolutely spank them. We've been terrible in the wet traditionally, but this year we've actually turned a corner on that, so I'm feeling bloody confident up the wazgital, isn't it? Yeah, totally, man, totally.
37:13Mike's a shot, Jason. Thanks, man.
37:15Mike Minogue:Mike, how you going, man? Yeah, hockey is pretty good. No, no, sorry, Mike from Cambridge is on the phone. How you going, Mike? Yeah, good, Mike. Yeah, bloody good, man. What do you do for a crust? Yeah. Ah, chippy. Ah, backbone! Good on you, mate. Hey, listen, Mike, we've got two bets for you to choose from, mate. The first one is for Liam Lawson to finish in the top six at the Netherlands Grand Prix Monday morning. That is paying$7. Or you can go against the Waz tonight and back Josh Adokar, winger for the Eels, to score two or more tries. That is paying$4.80. What would you like us to put the$100 bonus bet on?
37:50Mike Minogue:I'm never betting against the Waz boys. Up Liam Lawson. Yeah, good on you, Mike. You're a backbone, mate. We'll place that bet for you. If that comes through, you will get$600 cash, man. How good does that sound? Oh, too good. Bloody ripper, mate. You stay on hold. The old Pugsan will sort you out. It is that easy, fellas. Don't forget, R18, bet responsibly. And if you join the TRB now, they'll match your first deposit up to$50 and a bonus bet. T's and C's apply. Full T's and C's. Hauraki.co.nz. How good? Yeah, great stuff, mate.
38:18Keyzie:Up the wards!
38:20Mike Minogue:Up next, PAX Society. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
38:28Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Well, that much beloved television show is coming back on our screens. Keezy especially loves it. And I'm talking about Taskmaster, fellas.
38:39Mike Minogue:Yeah, it's coming back, eh, Jase? You fizzed up? Yeah, or is it already on?
38:42Keyzie:Oh, is it already on, is it? It's already on. Oh, sorry, Pax. Jase loves it. I love that stuff. Big fan. Yeah, I'm a big fan of it. I'm a big fan. But Pax Asati is with us, and you are on the current episodes of Taskmaster. How are you finding it? Or as we call it in the business, season. Yeah. Do you know what season? As a big fan, you must know what season we're up to, eh? It's about seven or eight, isn't it? Yeah, six. Oh, six. It's really good. It's really good. Yeah, I'm having a great time being on it. Great responses. People are loving it. People are saying I'm funny. People are saying everyone else is funny.
39:16Some are saying best season of all time. Yeah. Wow. I didn't say that. I'm just relaying the message. Relaying the message.
39:24Mike Minogue:It sounds like you've been really trawling through the comments. Are you that kind of guy? Yeah, I'm taking down names and then bad comments. I'm doing a deep dive on them, trying to figure out who their family is, where they live, that kind of lighthearted fun stuff. But you don't know if you're funny on it because you refuse to watch yourself. Yeah, I do. Do you think that's why you're slow to improve?
39:52No, there's numerous other reasons. My mother hit my head on the side of the fridge when I was young by accident, and that's caused real damage. Was that what that drinking ad was inspired by? That was your mum swinging you around like a driver.
40:14Mike Minogue:You don't watch yourself back because I've heard about people that do this. Don't you talk to me like that. But you want the rest of New Zealand to watch you, though. That's a weird combo, isn't it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I want the rest of New Zealand to really dig in. Get in.
40:27Keyzie:Well, funnily enough, watch me deep and hard. I'm the same, mate. I don't like watching myself. Or listening to myself. Or listening to myself. Or listening to myself. For real, why are you yelling at me? Because this is what I'm talking about. I just can't stand it. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Yeah. I don't know anything you just said. Okay.
40:48Mike Minogue:So what Jason was saying was he's trying to relate to you and say he's the same. He doesn't like watching you either. What's the... Is that because of the lack of improvement?
40:58Keyzie:The lack of improvement, man. Yeah, you're sick of... It's the same thing. Ten years ago is the same as now. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, and you're done with it. I'm done with it, man. We should play golf together. We should, actually. By the sounds of it, you're a little bit better than me, though. Probably not by a lot. No, not by a hell of a lot, but enough. Yeah, 24 handicap? No, 27. 27? Yeah, so we're kind of in the same bracket. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I wouldn't give you any shots in that situation. I reckon we'd play straight up. You've got to play straight up. Well, that's how Keezy and I play. But how did you enjoy it?
41:25Keyzie:Because I know that, I mean, were you a big fan of the show before you did it or you had no idea? No, I wasn't a big fan, but I was a medium fan. Yes. I never watched the show in its entirety, but I definitely saw clips. And of all those clips, I had a great time. I loved watching those clips. And so I was definitely excited to be on it. I know there are other comedians that were much, like, it was like a dream come true. But I think that played into my hands of not caring as much. You get to just be a little bit more free, a little bit more freewheeling, freeballing.
41:55Mike Minogue:I've watched the first episode of the first season, but I'm not as in love with it. However, if the opportunity arose to get on it, I certainly would embrace that. Yeah, I don't think that'll come for a while. Apparently not after your season. Yeah, it'll probably get cancelled. No, yeah, it's a good show. Rabid fan base. Rabid fan base. Super intense. Yeah, I think it goes really well. It's pretty rare to have six seasons of anything in this country. Yeah. Yeah Yeah I got nominated for Best Comedy Show in New Zealand Didn't get a third season Anyway should we just not talk about that Well do you guys want to bond over not getting renewed It's funny because Jason I got nominated for Best Comedy Show for Talkback And we didn't get a second season And Hounds which was one of the greatest comedies ever made in this country Very good show Won Best Comedy and didn't get another season We know how to do it man We know how to do it We know how to massage talent This is why I haven't gotten better
42:46Keyzie:Yeah, well, hey. Yeah, I can relate. I mean, it is a tragedy, though. You know what I mean? New Zealand television at the moment. It's a great tragedy. Because we've got so much talent out there, and it's so much more professional than it was back in my day, Pax, to be honest with you. People are very serious about their careers, where I was kind of like, I just didn't give a shit, and I just did whatever happened or came my way. You know what I mean? Yeah, I feel like that shouldn't really be the message that people take off. Mate. It's a way to survive. It's a way to survive. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
43:17It's not giving a shit. Because if bad stuff happens, you just kind of like waddle around in your underwear. Yeah, totally. And your wife yells at you.
43:23Mike Minogue:What we might do here, fellas, if that's okay, is just remind the audience to watch Taskmaster. Yeah, that's a good idea. I mean, we've been selling it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we'll go to a quick tune, and then we'll come back with more. It's such a good show. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
43:39Keyzie:You're welcome back, you massive backbones. Well, as previously discussed, Taskmaster is back for its sixth season. One of the contestants on that magnificent show is Pax Asadi, and he's joining us now. So did you genuinely like it? Yeah, no, genuinely. I genuinely enjoyed it. Do you want me to be honest? Yes. The tasks themselves I found quite stressful, and I didn't really enjoy myself that much. But I think that's the point. Yes. The point is that they want you to be kind of semi-stressed out, and they want you to make rash decisions. So they did their job, but I enjoyed it enough, but the studio was great.
44:12The studio's fun. You're just sitting up there with your mates. How long are you sitting in that studio?
44:20On one night, like four to six hours. Yeah, right. It's a long time. It's a long time. And it's a long time to stay up mentally. Yes. Stay up. Yeah, I know what you're saying. You get it.
44:32Keyzie:Stay up. It's been a long time since I've been able to stay up. Yeah. Up X. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's been much discussed on the show. Yeah, it has. How far up can you get for those kinds of things? Probably three quarters. Yeah, that's good enough. Well, is it? It can be. Yeah, well, it can. It can be. Look, you take what you can get ready, don't you? It depends on how you utilise that lift. Exactly. Yeah. And how long you can maintain it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's more to the point. Definitely talking about comedy shows.
44:57Mike Minogue:Jase's show aside, just in terms of facing - Is that what we were talking about? In terms of when you've come face to face with a task, Paul's standing there and he's like, hey, you've got to do this wacky thing. You've got this much time to prep. Yeah. You almost do just want to do the first thing that pops into your head, right? Do you want me to give you a... I don't know if I'm actually allowed to say this. I think you can. I think it'll be fine. Do you know what the crew of Taskmaster are told to do? Yeah. Give you zero feedback. Great. Which is harrowing. Yes. Because you launch into a task thinking you're doing a funny thing or whatever, and the crew is told beforehand to just stone face you.
45:32Really? Yeah. No laugh and nothing. Nothing. Right. No laugh, no gasp, no shock and awe, nothing. Just stand there and look you in the eyes, look you in the soul.
45:42Keyzie:Wow. The genius about that is that is magnificent mental torture because could you find a more insecure group of human beings in a bunch of comedians? Politicians? Oh. Probably on par. Probably on par. Yeah, about even. Yeah. But for a comedian to be doing something and to be getting no reaction. Which we've literally worked our life to learn how to get. To get. Yeah, yeah. It would be agonising. Yeah, it is agonising. It is a form of mental torture, but I think that gets the best performance as far as what the TV show wants. Yeah. Yeah, right. They want you to flounder. And to second guess yourself.
46:16Second guess. And to change streams midway. Change streams, yeah. But look, I tell you what, it creates a funny television show.
46:24Mike Minogue:Yeah. We've got Pax Asadi here in the studio with us from the latest season of Taskmaster. Jase, can you guess what ethnicity I am? Can I guess it? Yeah, I'd love for you to try. We play this game on the show. Yeah. Oh, we do. This is one of the stuff. I'd love for you to try. I didn't know that. But I would love for you to try. Iranian. Wow. That's half. What's the other half? Oh, that's pretty good though. That's really good. And I can guarantee you, he's done no research on you at all. His computer's not plugged in.
46:54Keyzie:I've been working here for over 10 years. This computer has never been on. What about my energy gave you Iranian? It's best not to dig too, do you?
47:06Don't go down that road, man Take it as a win, man Is it the excessive wrist here?
47:12Keyzie:You know what I think it was? Partly, we were discussing recipes before Out in the office Oh, I gave it away And the sultanas in the rice dish Yes You know, gave me some Yeah, yeah Because I'm a real foodie, Pat Cultured man Yeah, very cultured Do you know what it's called? No, I don't Zeresht Polo Zeresht Polo Pretty close, no D It feels racist to ask If there's chicken in it There can be chicken on it You can put chicken on it, you can put beef on it Does it have lemon zest? A little bit of cracked pepper You can put cracked pepper, no lemon zest Why people in your lemon zest? Stop putting lemon zest on everything It just lifts the dish Pax is all I'm saying Three quarters Before you go Pax
48:00Mike Minogue:One last question, man. Obviously, Taskmaster Season 6, it's out now. It's on TVNZ 2. It is. Every single, is it Tuesday, 7.30 p.m.? Monday and Tuesday. Monday and Tuesday now. And also, they're all available on TVNZ+. Yeah. What ethnicity do you think Jace is? Oh, that's good. Yeah. I can't just say white guy. Like, you want me to dig deep? That's close. You want me to dig deep? I would accept white guy, to be honest. But yeah. I'm going to go Welsh-Portuguese. Wow. I do have a bit of Welsh in me. Yeah, I know. I can tell. Boyle. Yeah. I can tell by the way you're yelling at me the whole time.
48:43Keyzie:So Monday and Tuesday. Taskmaster. Are they doing it Monday, Tuesday because they want to get it over and done with? Yeah. The faster the better, yeah. The less time it's in the world, the more we can be done with it.
48:56Mike Minogue:Oh, I'll have to give it a watch, fellas. Oh, you absolutely will. Yeah, you definitely will. Give it a watch. Pax Society, thanks. Watch Raised by Refugees on Neon. Two seasons. Really good show. Raised by Refugees. A bit of funny, a bit of heartfelt. Just writing that down. A bit of tears, a bit of laughs. Refugees. Yeah.
49:13Keyzie:What's it on? Neon. I don't have Neon. Yeah. Let's move on from that then.
49:19Mike Minogue:But TVNZ Plus. Yes. What about it? For this show. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. For what? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Pax, thanks for coming in, man. Oh, thanks, man. The Hauraki Beat Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki
49:38I don't know man
49:39Mike Minogue:What do you mean? The song I don't know The song rules man I don't know if it does It's a great way to wrap the show I think next week we're going to run a poll on that song Sure You know what I mean? And get suggestions maybe
49:50Keyzie:for the end of show tune You don't want to give them too much rope Now listen Keezy all the best for your client dinner tonight You're going to an Uber flash restaurant. I'm excited for you, man.
50:02Mike Minogue:No, we're not getting Uber.
50:03Keyzie:No, an Uber flash.
50:05Mike Minogue:I know what you're saying, man. Yeah. That's some of the chat I'm hoping to pull out on this client dinner. And then strippers and... Do you think I should? Strippers, really? Yeah. That's pretty standy. But we're going to like a nice restaurant. It's still pretty standy. And it's like a husband and wife. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you don't take the clients. You just go after the dinner. You say goodbye to them and then you go to the strippers by yourself. Where does my wife go? Wife? My wife's coming. To a client dinner. Wait, so I'm supposed to show up to a client dinner, husband and wife, just me on my own.
50:36Mike Minogue:When you're having a client dinner, you say, babe, I've got this client dinner together. Oh, God. I'll be back tomorrow. Right, because I was like, oh, babe, client dinner. No. No, it's an opportunity for a bit of space for old Keezy and the Rippers. Yeah, yeah. Well, it's at 7.30. Is half an hour enough notice to tell my wife she can't come? Yeah. It's more than enough. What do you mean more? Just say you've only booked for three. I'll tell you what you do. Don't say anything. Call your clients, late switcheroo, change of restaurant, and just turn your phone off. Mogi, that is genius. Yeah, I'm doing that.
51:17Mike Minogue:I've got it, though, because I was locked in to go to Reburger and now I'm going to have to change it. Yeah, very good. Hey, thanks for listening, everyone. We're very grateful.
51:25Keyzie:We are. Make sure you check out the podcast, by the way. Make sure you check out the Instagram account because old Pugson in Studio B works his ass off. He certainly does. He used to. Yeah, he's been a bit kind of weird this week. I love how you can say anything and then Jace will just jump on and go, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, we're helping each other out. Yeah, man. We're supporting each other here. Keezy.com. That's the name of your media company. Keezy.com. That's it. I was thinking full steam in my head.
51:57Mike Minogue:That doesn't even make sense. It's not even a media company name. Thanks for listening, everyone. Thanks for voting on the countdown. We'll see you Monday at 4. Hey, Jason. Far out. You need to go home.
