In short

This episode of The Hauraki Big Show (Dec 4, 2025) is a mix of banter, radio segments, and listener call-ins, centered on a “bone to pick” about Keezy’s behavior at the ACC/Radio Hauraki Beer Pong Championship. Guests/participants: Jason Hoyt (Jase), Mike Minogue (Mogi), and “Keezy” (host/regular). No external guests appear; most “guests” are callers (Joseph the irrigation worker; Ella, a legal executive; plus other text-in food callers).

Key claims

Keezy allegedly mangled the Kiwi Pong national anthem (starting in English, forgetting words, humming), then complained about the bar tab being closed despite having a $100 bar tab and two espresso martinis, and later was linked to glass smashing.

Notable examples

the anthem audio clip; the “passport revoked?” poll idea; Keezy’s multi-part apology to New Zealand and the ACC; “What’s on the Telly” reviews (Down Cemetery Road, Never Let Him Go, Ark Raiders).

0:00The Hauraki Big Show. Thanks to crave-worthy street food. Freshly made with Reburger. Haraki! Radio Hauraki. 59 today.

0:16Keyzie:Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show. Really big. Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh, g'day you mad bastards. It's great to have your company on this blustery Thursday. afternoon. It is the 4th of December 2025 and you my friends are always listening to the big show brought to you by Reburg Year. Serving good times and good food. Dine in or take away Reburg Year today. Reburg Year. Yum yum yum yum yum Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum Yum yum yum yum yum yum Mogi um You came in looking very hot today. And old Keezy was like oh have you had a hairdo or something, you know, a haircut. You had a hairdo, man.

1:01Keyzie:I noticed that you're, did you do it yesterday? Because I noticed it yesterday. It was on Monday. Oh, it was on Monday, okay. Yeah. But you were looking exceptionally hot. How is life for you at the moment?

1:10Jase:Look, I'll be honest with you, it's going pretty grouse. Yeah, yeah. Particularly seeing you, you mad dog, you sick son of a bee. And when I walked through the door and old Keezy, Keezy gave it the double take. Yeah, he did. He went, well, what? And then he was all over me like a rash. He was, man. He's a sick bastard. I mean, there's something wrong with him. Hands flying everywhere. Absolutely. He did this.

1:34Keyzie:We call this, this is a little technical term for you when you're doing voiceovers and stuff. It's called the Scooby. The Scooby? Yeah, which is the double tape.

1:45Keyzie:And then I was all over him. And then you were all over him, passioning him up and grabbing his ass, all that sort of stuff. How are you going, man? Because it looks to me like you've had a big night and you just put on some casual loose-fitting clothes and you're just chilling. G'day, fellas. Yeah, I've just got a boring sweatshirt on. Sorry, that must be it, right? Yeah, yeah. I haven't done my hair. No. And I sexually assaulted Mogey early. I'm sorry for that, man. Apparently, I don't remember doing it.

2:11Jase:Well, to be fair, I welcome you. Yeah, he was. There was no crime committed. Right, because I just don't remember doing it. Only a crime of passion, Keezy. Ah, okay. Exactly.

2:18Keyzie:He was straight on all fours. Don't you worry about it. You've got nothing to be guilty of there, Keezy. Right, okay. Yeah. It's just weird that I don't remember. G'day, Jase. You look great, man. You've got something special on tonight. Oh, no, just a dinner with the in-laws. You look very nice. Yeah, thanks, man.

2:31Jase:You're saying they're shockers, eh? They're always turning up late. Never pay the bill. Shock them, bastards. Yeah. Yeah. Didn't you say your father-in-law's a goose?

2:45Keyzie:Yeah, thanks, fellas. He does actually listen to the show occasionally. Oh, does he? Let's just hope it's not on this occasion. Yeah. All right? You don't want to find out the truth. Ah, massive show ahead, isn't there, Mogey?

2:58Jase:What's happening on The Big Show with old Mogey? You listen to The Big Show, you get big prizes. Another opportunity for you to win, well, actually to get into the drawer, apologies, for the massive music festival that is Alter Ego happening over in Los Angeles with the likes of, wait for it, Green Day! What? And Cage the Elephant. There's some bloody great bands on that line-up, so stay tuned. Fellas, we've also got a bit of chat around, Jase, you had a sofa bed delivered, man. Yeah. I mean, how gutted would you be if you missed out on today's show? Yeah. Sofa bed chat. Yeah, man. Sofa bed chat with Hoity J.

3:37Jase:There's also, well, yourself, Jase, me, and old Pugsun have got a bone to pick with one of the members of the big show. Yeah, boy, do we ever. I can't go into too much detail about who that is. and then there's some other sort of, you know, fella garbage. Yeah, yeah, generic stuff. No, it's all really, really good.

3:55Keyzie:Hey, tell you what's really good, a bit of Pearl Jam to kick you off. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. The Cars there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon. The time, 13 minutes past four o 'clock. New Zealand currently 2.49 for two with a lead of 313.

4:16Jase:Fellas, I was listening to the Agenda podcast It's one that the ACC do I've never heard of it I've got to say, I was extremely disappointed And as a result, I and Jase and Pugs We've got a bone to pick with another member of the big show Who are we going in on, boys? Look, I was listening to this thing And a member of the public has gotten in touch with the ACC And then it's led into a conversation and Keezy, I'm afraid it's about you, mate. What? And it's about your behaviour at the Beer Pong Championship hosted by the ACC and Radio Haraki last weekend. Now, you came in and you sort of said, oh, it was the best time ever, you were a backbone, you're singing national anthems, you're emceeing, I'm the man, Keezy.

5:03Jase:Keezy, Keezy, yeah. It sounded like a chant, which I thought was off. So maybe we should just go to the audio that I've got here and you can just tell us your thoughts. technically Kesey was supposed to MC throughout the day with Beck, didn't, he had one job to do and that was before the live broadcast where we started the tradition which we do every year with Kiwi Pong the finalists stand up in front of the stage arm in arm and we sing the national anthem he started with this version

5:31so he went straight to the English and then forgot the words, wait, you'll hear him

5:36Jase:Hear our voices, we will scream. God defends our free land. God does hear the little sound. So at the start there, you can hear Isaac Selessele trying to tell him, no, you've got to do, usually it's the tereo first. But then he had to stop everyone down and then made everyone sing the Rio version, which he hummed because he didn't know the words. And then from there, he had a bit of a hissy fit that the bar tab got closed after he was sitting there with two espresso martinis in front of him to a junior member of the team, demanding it be reopened for him. The bar tab. Yeah. Which he'd been on the teat of for the last four hours.

6:28Also, he won a$100 bar tab. He did, because the people in his pool, the people in his team won the comp. Oh, no. Oh, no. Keezy, the wheels have come off.

6:42Jase:Keezy, the wheels have indeed come off, man. How funny was that anthem, though? Holy shit. I remember because...

6:49Keyzie:This isn't a laughing matter, Keezy. You've brought massive disgrace on the big show. We're a deeply patriotic show. And to make a mockery of the national anthem is... Funny. I've never heard that moment. No, neither have I. I'm speechless. This is worse than I could ever have...

7:21Jase:Shocking, bastard. Shocking. Could I be so bold? Look, I don't mind you mocking Green Day, Kesey. I can even accept you're taking the piss out of the chilli peepers. But when it comes to our national anthem, I simply will not stand for it. Isn't that disrespectful? Shouldn't we all be standing for it?

7:45Okay, sorry, fellas. I'm sorry, all right? See you down there. I got steamed. There was a misunderstanding with the bar tabs. Misunderstanding.

7:53Jase:You won a bar tab, you've had free booze all day, and then you kick up a fuss because you don't get more free booze. And if I'm correct, you were absolutely furious about it. Taking it out on a junior member of the team. Well, you recall, actually, Mogi, later on that night,

8:09Keyzie:there was glass smashing. Yes. So bad, in fact, that the people that were with him texted his wife and said, can you come and get Keezy, please? That's right.

8:21Jase:That's right. So we're putting it out to the text machine, 3483. And this is serious today. We may even have to get it up as a very, very late big poll. Should Keezy have his New Zealand passport revoked, yes or no?

8:38Keyzie:I'm sorry, fellas. I'm going to have to go and have a vape here. I just need to cool down a bit, all right? I've just got to step out. We're not overreacting, are we? The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Arctic Monkeys there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon, the time 4.25. New Zealand currently 2.67 for two with a lead of 3.31.

9:04Jase:Fellas, we've had a bone to pick, haven't we? Yourself, Jase, me and Pugsworth. Old Keezy, who did the beer pong last week with the ACC and radio. Hauraki, 100 teams, battled it out. Keezy had the great honour of emceeing the gig and also singing the national anthem prior to the final. He did an MC all day and he also completely mangled the... Butchered. Thank you. The national anthem. And then complained and took it out on a junior staffer when there wasn't enough booze left and the bar tab had closed, having been on the hammer for four hours at the teat of Radio Horeki, might I say, and more importantly, the ACC.

9:46Jase:Yes. And then complained even though he had a$100 bar tab in his back pocket. Unbelievable.

9:52Keyzie:Okay. I mean, just the fact, Mogi, that he accepted that. Yes. He's getting free piss all day. Thank you. And he accepts a$100 bar tab, and there's all these backbones there that didn't get that kind of treatment.

10:07Jase:Disgrace. What do you reckon, Keezy, man? Backbone or shock and bastard? Look, I'm going to say on that scale that we use all the time, probably more towards shock and bastard. Yeah, good. I mean, there are a few things there that weren't quite true, But the fact that they're within the realms of what was true is still not good enough. So should I apologise to the ACC? Well, I think you owe them one, yeah. Do I have to apologise to New Zealand as well? I don't think the people of New Zealand wouldn't mind. Yeah, well, you butchered the anthem. Yeah, but that was kind of intentionally to make a joke.

10:37Okay.

10:43Keyzie:Okay, if you're going to take the piss from the get-go, Keezy, don't bother about it, man. I'm sorry, I was just clearing my throat because I just wanted to really nail this apology, all right?

10:57Kelda, New Zealand.

10:59Jase:It's old Keezy here. Even that's got an air of racism. What do you mean, Ray? What? I don't know. There's just something about it.

11:10Hello.

11:15It's Keezy here, New Zealand, and I just want to say from the bottom of my heart that I'm deeply sorry for taking the mickey with the New Zealand anthem Saturday World Series at Kiwi Pong. It was a disgrace. I took the mickey and I'm a shocking bastard. Yeah. I'm sorry.

11:35Jase:That's good. I'll tell you. Yeah, cool. Now for the ACC. Kia ora ACC. It's all kesey here. I just want to say sorry for not emceeing the event on Saturday.

11:49Keyzie:Letting down the team, yeah. And then also bragging on the radio on Monday that I got out of emceeing.

11:55Jase:Yes. And then what else have you got for them? Sorry for drinking my fill of the bar tab and then tearing shreds off a junior member of staff even though I had another bar tab. Yeah. And two, especially martini sitting in front of you. I mean, I had two espresso martinis, one in each hand, and as I was tearing shreds off that junior member of staff, just spilling them everywhere and just... And a dart hanging out your mouth. A dart, a menthol hanging out my mouth. I'm sorry. I was an a-hole. And all I can do is beg for your forgiveness and promise that it will not happen again. I think we have to put another asterisk on Keezy's phone this week.

12:39I'm going to have to go out for another vape. Sorry, fellas. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.

12:47Keyzie:Metallica there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon. The time being, 20 minutes to 5 o 'clock, New Zealand. Racing ahead now, fellas, 286 for 2. Oh, Revenger on 99, Latham 123, a lead of 351. Bloody ripper. Hey, fellas, you've picked my bone. Yes. Now it's time for me to pick your bones.

13:14The segment What's on the Telly with Mike Minogue What's on the Telly with Mike Minogue Are you familiar with it? Yep What do you mean? We do it every day at the same time Do we? Yeah, you know And it plays and then Mogey goes Yeah It's usually popular We write stuff out of buzzies

13:33Keyzie:Yeah, yeah, that's right Yeah, the buzzies triggered me Yeah, that's right

13:39I don't watch as much stuff on telly as you guys. But what is on my telly is often games that I'm playing on PlayStation 5, right? I've got a bone to pick. I want to change it so that I can talk about PlayStation games on what's on telly.

13:55Jase:No. Why not? I think because most of the population out there, the listeners' kesey. They're not interested. I'm not talking about Jason. and I love hearing about you. Him and Pugs go on, yeah, totally. Him and Pugs are just banging, I mean, deep in conversation. It's fascinating, even though I don't know what you're talking about. I love it. But I just don't know if the audience is ready for that kind of an experience.

14:20Keyzie:You've got to get the key, Kesey, because then you get, you know, once you've got the key, you get bouncy hamstrings. Doosh, doosh, doosh. You know, it's just, it's not as good as the first one, but, you know, it's still really good.

14:35Jase:Yeah. I'm not watching The Last of Us because that second season of the – the second video game was so bad. I'm not watching the – No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. The twist was so bad, I hate it. No, that's not what I said about Last of Us 2. I actually really enjoyed it. But I just think there is actually a portion of the audience that probably are interested. Oh. That might, you know, get home, you know, have a few beers, sit down, play PlayStation for an hour or so.

14:58Keyzie:Oh, look, there's a small part of the population that are massive dweebs. Yes. You know what I mean? You know, they just sit there behind their computers, It's not computers. It can be computers if you want. With their little popcorn things. What are you talking about? And their wacky cat's ears headphones and stuff. You know what I mean? Do cosplay when you're doing that as well? Can you dress up in your superhero massively bouncy hamstring outfit? I wear really horrific, ugly clothes. People are like, oh, who are you cosplaying as? I'm like, oh, I'm Jace today. Do you have one of those massive sort of swivelly gaming chairs?

15:36No, I sit on the couch and I play PlayStation. All I'm saying is every now and then I'd like to say on what's on telly, I'm currently playing a game called... I've got an idea. Okay.

15:47Jase:I've got an idea. All right. Why don't we have a completely separate section called What's on the Gaming Nerds with me and Pugs? Right? Does it have to be called that? Well, it fits. and then you and Pugs can talk about that. You can do a whole break on that gaming stuff and me and Jase will go outside for a dart. How's that sound? That's a good middle ground. It's called compromise, isn't it? It's a great compromise. And don't get me wrong, I'll listen back to it on the podcast because I really want to hear about it. But it just feels like we'd get in the way, Jase. Yeah, yeah, sure. Of some really great chat.

16:23Jase:Sure.

16:23Keyzie:Don't get me wrong either, Kesey. I won't listen back to it. Right, okay. It'll bore the arse off me. some dweebs just doosh doosh doosh doosh doosh That's not what video games sound like anymore Jase I'm just confirming too you're talking about this we'll play in our show

16:38Jase:I've got no problem with that whatsoever No problem Jase I think towards the end of it Yeah can we Like sort of half past 6 towards that 7 Yeah about 6.45 7 o 'clock 7.15 how good's that Yeah 7.15 I'll do That's just giving me a thought actually You could have a whole night show themed around gaming.

17:03Nah, okay, I'll just stick to...

17:05Keyzie:I think that's a great idea, a night show with gaming, because I reckon it'll go better than when you used to do the night show. Okay, okay. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Guns. Yeah! Roses there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show. Let's talk tally. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue

17:33Jase:Yes Yes Jase, say it Yes Fellas, look that text of the other day had a shot at me and said, Mogi hates everything he watches and that's really affected me quite deeply I keep on thinking about that little bastard out there and how I keep proving them right every day. So I've been watching Down Cemetery Road with Emma Thompson. It's on Apple TV. Yes. It's about an explosion that happens in a neighbourhood, in a next-door neighbour, trying to work out what's going on. There's a missing girl. There's a cover-up. We want to know what's going on. Got to episode five. That's how I say that now. Episode five.

18:16Jase:Last night, and the wife and I agreed it was time to just let it go and turn it off. Yes. Got really stupid. Characters all of a sudden doing completely weird things that they would never do early on. You know, that sort of stuff, but the writing gets a little bit wayward. And we just said, look, we'll just park it. And I said to my wife, look, I love watching these things all the way to the bitter, bitter end. But she insisted, so one buzzy. One buzzy out of five, wow. Well, the thing about it is, if you can't finish it, can you recommend it? I think it's really a zero, because I enjoyed it early on, but if you can't watch it till the end, it's 10 episodes.

18:57Jase:Yes. I can't watch it, so I've wasted five hours of my life is how I feel about it, but I'd love to hear from anybody who thinks it's good. 3, 4, 8, 3. As always. I lasted two episodes. There we go.

19:07Keyzie:And I thought it was trying to emulate, in a weird kind of way, Slow Horses. Yes, exactly. You know, the big star. Emma Thompson's always great.

19:15Jase:And can I say it's the same producers of Slow Horses, and that's how they got me in.

19:19Keyzie:Yeah. I watched a documentary called Never Let Him Go. Is that a documentary? Yes. Is it called Never Let Him Go? Yes. And it's about an American guy who was a brilliant mathematician. Brilliant. Was solving all these mathematical equations. Like long division and stuff. Like Sudokus. Really lovely guy who moved to Australia and was also a homosexual. Is that how you say that, is it? a homosexual. And this was in the sort of 80s in Australia and the whole AIDS epidemic and all that sort of stuff going on. But worse than that was... Worse than AIDS. Was the bigotry. Was the bigotry going on. And there was a lot of violence against gay people.

20:05Jase:Is this in Sydney? Sydney, it is, yes. There was shocking episodes of men being thrown off the cliffs at Bondi.

20:12Keyzie:Yes.

20:13Jase:Is that what this is? Jeez, that's horrific. Very similar.

20:17Keyzie:They thought had jumped off a cliff of his own accord. Yeah. And his brother was like, no, no, no. But they went, no, that's what's happened. All his clothes are neatly folded up on the cliff face. That's the end of it. But was it? And it looks like, I haven't finished it all because there's quite a few episodes, it wasn't there. And his brother was going, it isn't this. And he got his own private investigator and all that sort of jazz.

20:44Jase:From memory, I listened to a podcast about this. Right, okay. A very, very good podcast it was. And that's right, there were roaming gangs that would hang out in the parks atop Bondi there. And because there were hangouts or local hangouts where gay men would meet, make love. And so these guys would trap them and throw them off the cliffs at Bondi. So there was a lot of murders that happened this way and they went completely unsolved. They were treated as suicides by the local police. Yeah. Shocking. It was horrific.

21:13Keyzie:It's pretty good. I'll give it three pussies out of five. Three pussies out of five, wow. I've just remembered, I watched a show the other night with a couple of mates of mine. It was called Ark Raiders. Oh, it sounds very gamey to me. No, it's not a game. It's not a game. I swear, it's not a game. But it's a show about people that live underground. It's like post-apocalyptic. No, it's not. Sort of like Fallout.

21:36Jase:What's it on? What did you watch it on? On my telly. Yeah, no, what server? Was it TVNZ Plus? I'm looking at Keezy's face. You were full of it, Keezy. You were full of it. It was on PlayStation, all right? It's a really great game. Keezy, let's get out of here, mate. Five buzzies out of five. The Hauraki Beat Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

22:03Keyzie:You're welcome back, you massive backbones. Excuse me. Hope you're enjoying your Thursday afternoon. and you're listening to the big show brought to you by Reburger. Craveworthy street food freshly made with Reburger. Wow. Scrumdedly-umptious. Now, fellas, I guess we should acknowledge, of course, it is the 59th birthday of Radio Hauraki, the sustained institution. It absolutely is, Jase, broadcasting from international waters for the first time on this day, 1966. Wow. The world-famous Radio Hauraki on board the Tiri, the boat. Yeah, yes. We've still got the life preserver here in the studio with us.

22:38Keyzie:Yeah. Do you think our show sort of represents still the spirit of Radio Hauraki, fellas?

22:44Jase:Well, it's hard to say, isn't it, without having listened to it. I'd never heard of Radio Hauraki before I came on board here. Right. I was shocked that it existed, and it existed for so long, and that it continues to exist, particularly given that we're at the helm, so to speak, there, Keezy. Are we at the helm? Well, we're kind of at the helm, yeah. Maybe a bit under the influence, responsibly. Duh. Heading towards the rocks. Yeah, I was going to say, scathing over the reef.

23:13Keyzie:Yeah. Ripping a few holes in the bottom. In the bottom. What is it called? The hull. The hull. Oh, you're thinking of the poop deck. Oh, am I? Yeah. No, that's you, Casey. You're the only one that rips holes in poop decks. But I reckon we're a pretty good representation. We've been going for a while now.

23:29Jase:Almost five years, fellas. That is quite a long time. Should we shift the birthday celebration for the station, 59 years, over to us almost being on air for five years? I've almost been on air for five years. That's pretty good. That's pretty amazing. But 59 today, Radio Hauraki. Thank you very much to all those who came before us. Yes. Who laid the groundwork so that we could then come in and sort of really, you know, they walked so we could run, fellas.

23:52Keyzie:Can I, just in keeping with this story, tell a story that happened to me many years ago, talking about our founding members? Yeah, sure. I probably said it before. I don't know if I've ever talked about it on air. It was one of the most shocking things I've ever done. It was a shocker.

24:10Jase:Yeah. Hey! We'll bring that. When are we going to talk about that? We'll do it next. I thought you were about to tell the story. No, we'll do it next.

24:17Keyzie:I was going to say, here's the white stripes. Okay. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Ozzy Osbourne there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening. Now, fellas, we were just talking at the opening there that it's the 59th birthday of Radio Hauraki. That's right, 1966. We hit the airwaves and the ocean on board the Turi. And it reminded me of something that happened to me back in the day when I was doing Radio Hauraki, a show called Bougia. Yeah, loved it, by the way. And I thought it would be really nice because the next day on the show was going to be the birthday, and I thought, why don't we get one of the founding members in to have a bit of a chit-chat with them?

25:01Keyzie:Sure. And we went, yeah, great idea. I even went so far as to research myself, this particular chap who started, you know, was part of the process. One of the pirates. One of the pirates.

25:12Jase:Was that the 30th birthday? Come on, man.

25:17Keyzie:Anyway, I found the guy, because we didn't really have a producer back in those days, and I sent him messages and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I think his name was Chris Parkinson from Recollection. You were producing and teeing up interviews. Whoa. What the hell? I just thought, no, you be proactive about it. You go and do it. So anyway, stupidly, I then came back in and on the show said, really exciting news before anything was confirmed. We've got an interview tomorrow with one of the founding members of Radio Hauraki, one of the old pirates, Chris Parkinson. You had him up on Facebook, did you?

25:49Keyzie:Yeah, Facebook and something else as well. I think I might have emailed him. Anyway, so we finished that break and I walked out into the office an old prebonator, prebs, he said to me, did I just hear you say that you're going to interview Chris Parkinson on the show tomorrow? And I went, yeah, man, should be good. I thought, you know, founding member and all that sort of stuff. And he went, um, he's actually dead, man. And then what did you say? And I went, I didn't say anything. I went, you, I said you are effing joking. And he said, no, man, he sadly passed away a little while ago. and I went, oh, my God.

26:30Keyzie:So then I had to go back on air and say to the audience and apologise and say, look, I'm really sorry. And by this stage, I told Lee and Matt, who was also on the show, the situation. Lee was literally pissing his pants with laughter. Matt was doing the same thing. They were both in pain laughing while I was trying to be deeply earnest and serious and say, unfortunately, I was a little ahead of myself there regarding Chris Parkinson with two dudes in hysterics on either side of me. Unfortunately, he's passed away. The funny thing about that is, obviously, there could be quite a funny radio bit.

27:26You know what I mean?

27:26Jase:Yeah. Saying that someone's coming in and then coming in and saying, actually, no, they're dead. Yeah. But that was 100%.

27:32Keyzie:He was legitimately. He was, and he had no idea. Had 100 % passed away. Would have been a great get as well. It would have been a great get. Oh, Lee pissing his pants there. It was horrific, man. I felt so bad. And, you know, even telling the story again, I go, my apologies if it offended anyone. but one of the lowlights of my... I mean, I've had many, but that was one of them. Is that why you stopped teeing up interviews? Yeah, producing. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. My Heart Radio. Alter Ego.

28:13How's he going now? Let's get another great New Zealander in the draw.

28:19Keyzie:Let's get to it, in fact. What do you say, fellas? Yeah, yeah. Sounds good, Jase. What are they getting in the draw for, I hear you ask? An all-inclusive trip to LA January 17th to see the Alter Ego Festival put on by iHeartRadio. It's happening at the Kia Forum. You'll get tickets for you and a mate to go along, you know, accommodation at a hotel, a grand cash spending money, and direct flights thanks to Air New Zealand from New Zealand to LA. It's a pretty damn good price. It's not bad. It's bloody great, Kesey. Ash, we go to the phone lines with that in mind, mate. Joseph, you mad bastard. How's life?

28:57Keyzie:Bloody good. Jay, how's your life going today? Yeah, good, thanks, mate. Good. What do you do for a crust, Joseph?

29:07Keyzie:A whoie? A what what? Irrigation, you know. Oh, irrigation. Actually, that'd be the irrigation capital of New Zealand, wouldn't it? Apparently. I don't know. I just started. Yeah, right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, tell me, Joseph, who would you take with you if you were lucky enough to win? I'm either going to take my wife, but she'll probably be too busy because she's studying, or I'll just take my mate, one of the two.

29:30Jase:Yeah, mate, good on you. Joseph, you sound like a young bastard. How old are you, man, to be married? I'm only 32. Oh, yeah, no, that's about right. Good on you, mate. Yeah, good on you, Joseph. Yeah, good on you, mate. Yeah, good on you, Joseph, man. Yeah, good stuff, mate.

29:44Keyzie:You stay on the line and put stuff. Yeah, yeah. Good on you, man. Yeah. Can we stop? What? Stay on the line, Joseph, and Pugs will sort you out. Let's go to Ella. How's life, Ella? Ella?

29:58Jase:Ella. Oh, hi. Sorry.

30:00Keyzie:That's okay. How are you going, Ella?

30:02Jase:I'm good. How are you guys?

30:04Keyzie:Yeah, good. Thanks, mate. You had a good day? Yeah, it's been awesome. Sun's shining. Can't complain. Yeah, nice, man. What do you do for a crust, Ella? I'm a legal executive. Oh, exactly. A legal executive. Ooh. Yeah. Does that sound really fancy to you, James? Yeah, it does. A legal executive. Yeah, yeah. Do you wear power suits, Ella? Oh, hell yes.

30:28Jase:Are you a legal eagle?

30:31Keyzie:Oh, I guess, yeah.

30:33Jase:Yeah, that's a high flyer in the legal area there. Really? Good on you, mate. Yeah. Ella, if you were to win, who would you take? Oh, I'd probably take my partner. Yeah, okay. Good on you. A partner in the law firm. No. No, my boyfriend. What's his name? What's his name? Ryan. Don't take Ryan. He's a shocker. He's bloody all over the place.

30:56Keyzie:Leave him at home. And he gets bloody air sick as well, I heard. He does the old chunder in the paper bag, you know what I mean? Trade him in, Ella. Yeah, God, that's never going to last, I'll be honest with you. Bit of a weird-looking dude. He is quite odd because I saw Ella and I thought, and then I met Ryan. I went, oh, what happened there? He's got a limp on him. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hopefully he's not listening. Well, good luck, Ella.

31:19Jase:Can't believe you said that, Ella. You're a shocker. Yeah, God. On live radio, too. You're in the draw, mate. You just hold the line. I'll pug, son. I'll chuck you in, OK? Sure, thank you. No worries.

31:29Keyzie:Yeah, great stuff. Hey, just on the cricket, by the way, 360 we are for two with a lead of 424, Latham 137, and Ravindra 157. He's smacking it. Off 155 as well. That's good stuff. You know what's good stuff, fellas? with Air New Zealand's non-stop Auckland to Los Angeles service and seamless USA connections with United Airlines, you can experience it all. That's what I like. Oh, dear. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Sublime there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening. New Zealand flying along now, 366 for two, with a lead of 430. Hey, fellas, I've got some pretty exciting news.

32:14Not breaking news, but just exciting. I've managed to bag my first ever commercial. I've bagged a commercial. A TV commercial.

32:24Jase:Mm-hmm.

32:26Keyzie:That's good stuff, man. Well, you don't seem stoked. You seem more jealous than anything. Well done, man. I had to work my ass off to get it for you, but I mean. Okay, Jase helped me. I had to pull a few favours, Keezy. Jase helped me get a commercial, but at the end of the day, Jase, I think you'll admit. I think you will admit on the radio that they wanted me.

32:47Jase:Jase is Keezy's agent. Should point that out. Yeah, sure, Keezy.

32:54Keyzie:No, sure, man, they wanted you. I just feel like if you are my agent, you should be really getting in behind me here and saying, well done, Keezy, you got your first thing. Oh, just tough love. Yeah, like I said, man, I had to pull a few strings and I know you were desperate to get on the TV. I'm just desperate for that camera Yeah I just want my time in the sun man Sure Yeah yeah why not But it's a commercial The issue I've got is that I have to I have to I have to be in my undies for it

33:25Jase:Ah see this is a tricky thing isn't it With a commercial Now I've done a few Jase you've obviously done hundreds in your day It's a tricky one because On the one hand You get the job You get the job You're going to be on TV What you've always dreamed of, Keezy. On TV. On TV. And on the other hand, it's an absolute humiliator. Yeah. So it's a massive humiliator. People are going to mock you for it. But you are on TV and you're getting paid well, handsomely. Am I? We haven't talked about the rate yet.

33:59Keyzie:Wow. Well? No, look, we don't need to talk the nitty-gritty on air here, Keezy. Yeah, no, because Jase told me that they hadn't actually sent through the rate yet. They said that you do the ad first and then you talk about the funds afterwards. And I was like, that's weird. But he's like, no, no, that's how it works. Just on that, they rang me today because they said that you are going to be in undies. And I said, just make sure they're not white ones. Why would you say that? I don't mind being in white ones. Well, to be honest, I don't want to be in undies. This chat was supposed to be like, hey, how do you sort of get over that, any self-consciousness you might have and just let it all out and just let it all hang loose.

34:39Keyzie:Well, I don't want you letting it all out, Kesey.

34:42Jase:And the problem is as well, you'll get very, very nervous. And I don't know what happens to you when you're nervous, Kese, but I know what happens to my mate. Yeah. And he finds somewhere to hide. So you want to give a good impression, if I can say that, depending on what the ad's for, of course.

34:59Keyzie:Just on that, Mogie, I have organised, with that in mind, actually. There's going to be a fluffer on set. Oh, that's good. A fluffer? Yeah. What, for me? Yeah, yeah. Right, but I mean it's you don't

35:20Jase:have to freak out about it because I know a lot of times you get a fluffer and often times you don't know who they are but in this case it's going to be pugs.

35:25Keyzie:Yeah. We thought someone that you know really well that you're comfortable with and all that sort of stuff. Who knows his way around you know. Yeah. fluffing. Well, there's not much there's no around really going on. It's just Okay. Well, to be honest I am more comfortable. I think that probably sits better with me knowing that it's a close personal friend. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Were you excited, man? Well, I don't know because I don't know anymore. I mean, is this a bad decision? No, look, it's the only decision you've, it's the only choice you've got at this point. Well, no, I can say no, right?

35:59No, you've already signed. Well, no, I haven't.

36:01Jase:Yeah, I've signed it. What do you mean? you've signed it. That's tradition as an agent. You actually sign on behalf of it. Of your client. Right, I don't even know what that... It just speeds the process up. I don't even know what the ad's for. All Jase said... The less you know the better. Yes. I just want to let you know that I am feeling uncomfortable about it, Jase. Look, this is unreal. You know, I see the new Avatar films coming out, Fire and Ash. People are absolutely fizzing for it. I don't give a shit about that. The big summer blockbuster for me is Keezy in his undies.

36:34Can we have a meeting after the show? The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

36:41Keyzie:Pink Floyd there on the radio. Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening, coming up after six o 'clock. What's on the dinner with me, Kesey? And I believe, Mogi, you've got some hair chat.

36:51Jase:Brace yourselves, fellas. This might be the greatest chat to ever be committed to radio. Can't wait. Neither can I. If you do want to win yourself a$50 Reburger voucher, though, do text 3483. What are you having for tea tonight? The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.

37:11Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Thursday's going along very nicely. You're listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburg U. Beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options too. Reburg U are redefining the norm. And if I could just direct your attention to this next slide, you'll see that Rebarger is serving both good times and good food. And that's whether or not you dine in or take away Rebarger today. And if you just look at this next slide, you'll see that it's yum!

37:47Keyzie:Yeah, I'm going out for dinner tonight, fellas, by the way. Ooh! Wow, lucky. Fancy boy. Yeah. Where are you going, fancy boy? I'm not going to tell you where I'm going because then I'll just get inundated with fans. You know what I mean? I just want to have my dinner in peace. Yeah, good on you, man. You know, with my in-laws there and my wife. Were you going to... No, Geezy. I wasn't. Ree Burger? Oh, no. That's more of my casual sort of nights. Right. Yeah, I'll be having that in the weekend. Don't you worry about it. So you're going with the in-laws tonight, aren't you? Yeah, yeah. Will you be shouting?

38:20No.

38:20Keyzie:Yes, I will. Really? I've made a decision, actually, re my in-laws, that I'm from now on, and I have been over the last three or four times, I shall be paying for the meal.

38:32Jase:Yeah. I like that. Well, I mean, you are getting on a bit. Yeah, totally. How have they responded to that?

38:40Keyzie:With surprise.

38:43Jase:Really? Yeah. Right. Because you're more regarded as a taker. Generally speaking, yes. Yeah, like a bludger. Yes, yes. Don't they call you the barnacle?

38:54Keyzie:No, I think my wife's father refers to me as the leech. The leech, that was it. Yeah, yeah. Well, leeches can be used for good. Like back in ancient times, they used it to help eat wounds or whatever. Well, not eat wounds, clean wounds out. Yeah, eat the dead flesh. Yes. Well, that's the same thing, isn't it? Yeah. Well, I suppose you'd know you are the leech. 3483, by the way. what are you having for dinner? Could win a voucher. It's a re-burger. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. New order there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday evening, but right now it's time for...

39:33Oh, yeah, hey, guys. Text here from Steve.

39:37Keyzie:What's on the tee with me, dinner?

39:42Look, guys, we really need to change that back to its original title because it's confusing.

39:48Jase:Well, I think we're on to a new title. I think it just needs to be re-voiced by you. What's on the team? With me, dinner. Yeah. Because people love that, but you're right, it's a bit jarring having Jase drop in there, so the only way to sort it out, because it is your segment, is to have you voice what is a fantastic script.

40:08Keyzie:My only concern is he wouldn't have the same flow as I had. Oh, of course he wouldn't. You were so in the moment. Yes. You've got a magnificent flow, Jase. Yeah, thank you. Also, it's not Tuesday. Why are we doing this here? We do it Tuesday, Thursday. Do we? Every week, yes. We love it.

40:24Jase:He's not gaslighting me, is he? We absolutely love it, Keezy. If I had my way, it would be Monday through Friday. Right, okay. For the best of on Sunday. G'day, fellas. Sean here. Sean of the dead. Affleck. Isn't that Ben? It's Ben and his brother Casey. Yes, there's no Sean. They've got a cousin, Sean, who's a plumber there in Boston. Actually, g'day, fellas. Sean Affleck here from Tuaco. I'm the third brother of the Affleck brothers.

40:55Keyzie:Oh, okay. You're good. I'm having Reburger, the legend burgers, the best cheers. Good on you. Love Scotty. Ha, ha. There's nothing to say about that. He's bang on the money. Other than it's delicious. G'day, fellas. Jared here.

41:10Jase:Oh. Kushner. Jared Woyria Hargraves. Ha, leto. Oh, Jared Leto. Okay. Nah, it is Kushner. G'day fellas I'm making a homemade footlong meatball sub Homemade? Huh? Homemade Oh no did I say hoe made? Yes No sorry it's home made Hoe You can't say that No I wouldn't say that a hoe was making us

41:34Keyzie:Footlong meatball Sammy That's right a sub New York style long Sammy there Yeah And I'm going to ram it through me tonight Tick tick Yeah I don't have an issue with that either That's good stuff. Would he have some salads in there?

41:52Jase:Salad in there? Or is it just cheese and meat? Cheese and meat with a tomato sauce over the top. You'd want to have some onions in there. Yes. Red onions. Red onions. Or even normal onions. Either or is good there. What else would you run there? You know what? I would go in there.

42:07Keyzie:I'd put some pickle in there. Pickle. Sure.

42:10Jase:Pickle?

42:11Keyzie:You know, like a... Pickle. Like a gherkin. Like a gherkin, yes. Oh, yeah. Like slices of pickle. Yes. Yeah, that have been pickled. Jalapeno. Jalapeno. That's what I'd put in. 100%. I'd put all those things in. To be honest, fellas, a bit of spinach, a bit of salad, a bit of lettuce. Oh, God. What?

42:29Jase:None of that. G'day, fellas. Connor here. O 'Gregor. O 'Gregor. O 'Gregor. Connor O 'Gregor. Is it Connor O 'Gregor again? He's always texting in. It's Connor O 'Gregor texting in from Tauranga. I'm having a big old backbone T-bone steak, fellas. Oh. I don't like a bony steak. That's just me. I just don't like a big steak or steak in general. There you go. Yeah. That's a no, Conor O 'Gregor. Conor O 'Gregor, of course, been from Scotland. Yeah, Scotland. Scotland. G'day, guys. Stacey here. Stacey's mum has got it going on. That's the one. Having creamy chicken carbonara for dinner. Gonna be grouse.

43:15Keyzie:Yeah, I like a bit of creamy chicken. Yeah. With your mushies. Lots of mushies. Lots of parmesan cheese, a bit of fresh basil.

43:21Jase:The basil sets it off and a little bit of lemon zest. Just pepper.

43:25Keyzie:Just on the creamy chicken and mushroom sort of pasta, just a little teaspoon of Dijon mustard. Really? Can all for you to make the difference. All right. What about this one here? What are you fellas eating for tea tonight? You mind your business. You have to stick around. It's beeswax.

43:40Jase:You have to stick around and find out about that. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.

43:48Keyzie:Bush there on the Radio Hodaki big show this Thursday night. Now, fellas, Magic Round again next year in old Brizzy town. That's right. Magic Round 2026, the NRL, every single team except for one, playing one another all at Suncorp Stadium over three days. It is rugby league heaven. To be honest, it's just sports heaven. It's just put on a Warriors jersey and go to Brizzy for three days of awesomeness whether or not you like rugby league. Fellas, can I just make a suggestion here if that were to happen? Right. That maybe this time we get a bit more culture in. Well, I'll stop you there.

44:25Jase:Because here it says Hodeki is going. It doesn't say anything about us. I think they might be opening it up. You think? I think so. I think old Jeremy Wells and Minaya are trying to get their little honkers in there because God knows they don't get enough international trips. Yeah, that's true. Minaya did come with us last year, of course. Yeah, he did. But I know Jerry was very disappointed and he wanted to come as well. Yeah. He said, you know, because he's not huge on his rugby league, Jerry, but he was like, he got FOMO. Yes. Seeing everything. Another opportunity to get his air points up as well.

44:53Keyzie:Yeah, yeah. He'll be up the front of the plane there. I think he was in Rome or something, wasn't he, at the time? He was. Yeah, yeah. At the Vatican, I believe. Yeah, yeah. He just had two weeks at the Vatican.

45:03Jase:But if we were to go, I think you're right, Joe. It's a bit more class. Yeah, a bit more culture. Yeah. I mean, what is there in terms of Australian culture, though? You're pretty limited. Yeah, it's not exactly pouring out of them, is it? Pokies. Yeah, pokies. A few beers. We did that. We did that. Have a dart at the car park. Yeah, but not for long enough. Roll your owns. I was only on the pokies for about eight hours. Yes. Well, yeah, well, we can up that if you want. Well, that's insane. More culture. Right, okay. Because, I mean, I don't know how much more culture I can handle because I was absolutely knackered.

45:33A bit of boofing. Boofing.

45:35Keyzie:You know, just a bit of a few dust-ups. Oh, de-doos, de-doos, de-doos. Well, that's the thing about it.

45:41Jase:You'd expect there to be a lot of dust-ups, but it was very well-tempered, wasn't it? Yes. They're very happy. Everyone's just stoked to be there. They are. And stoked to see everyone else stoked. But we could probably start a few dust-ups, Jase.

45:53Keyzie:Yeah, okay. If we could do more of that, that would be good. I think so. Because right now, if you think about, I know, Mogi, are you fizzed up about Magic Round again?

46:01Jase:If I'm going, I'd be fizzed up about it. But, yeah, I mean, look, all I know is the last two times that I've been, and I have absolutely loved it. It's been amazing. I try and do things a little bit differently this time around. For example, I'd need a week off afterwards. And also maybe not having your brother-in-law in your room. My brother-in-law was in my room. That's right. I forgot about that. Snoring his snozz off. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right. I forgot about that. In fact, I still can't remember it now. But we had a great time. I do know that. Yes. What about you, JC? You fizzed up to go back again.

46:30Oh.

46:32Keyzie:Oh. I am fizzing, Keezy, at the prospect. All right, mate. Well, look, all I'm saying is I'm definitely going. I know it says Hodaki's going, but I personally will make sure that I'm there. If not, you'll be hearing from old Keezy. But if you want to come along with us, Boys Trip have officially opened up for purchase for next year, boystrip.co.nz. Head along there. If you buy the package, it includes flights, accommodation, transfers, tickets to all the games, and access to a function that we will be at as well. And basically, if you go on the Boys Trip trip, you will be with us for most of the weekend in terms of watching the footy, where we go and that sort of stuff.

47:11So it's a good way to guarantee your spot there. It's happening in Brisbane the 15th to the 17th of May 2026. BoysTrip.co.nz. We'll see you there. How good. Do you guys like the cult? Who doesn't, man? The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

47:39Keyzie:Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's us done and dusted for your Thursday night. In the podcast outro today, we're making a bit of an effort to clean it up, aren't we, fellas? Yeah, I think so. I mean, I'm perfectly fine with that. Ogie?

47:58Jase:Look, you guys have got the best intentions, and I respect you for it, but you've got a couple of shockers. So we'll see how we go. Yeah. See how we go. Well, look, from here on out, you won't hear any filth on the podcast outro. I don't know if we need to do that this year. It feels like that would be a 2026 commitment. Yeah, maybe. Yeah, I think so. I personally will be trying to keep it clean, though. Today's outro clip is entitled Poos.

48:20Keyzie:Thinking of Pugs today, actually, while I was taking a steamer, reading my American book that's been in there for years and years. All I remember, I remember Pugs saying, that's so f***ing disgusting, man. Yeah. It'll be poo particles all over it. And I went, you know what? It's time to go. So I did my poos, and then I took the book out and biffed it.

48:43Jase:See, they didn't wipe his ass in that scenario. Didn't pull up his pants, flush the toilet, wash his hands, and just waddled in. Piece of shit. Threw it away, then came into work. With my undies around the knees.

48:54Keyzie:You can't talk about that stuff on the radio, Jase. That's shocking. Yeah, sorry, fellas. My apologies. Now, Mogi, another lovely night. You're going to be out on the deck, you think, with your lovely wife? maybe enjoying a meal, a couple of durries and a wine.

49:08Jase:I don't know what I'll be doing, mate, but, yeah, I'll be getting home pretty quick before the sun goes down. When I came in here, it had cooled off. Yes. So now it's a little bit later in the evening. We've had the air con on. I'm not sure if I still – definitely I feel like it's still cold outside, but from the looks of it, I'm wrong. It's bloody beautiful. It's nice in the sun.

49:24Keyzie:Oh, good. Keezy, what are you having for dinner tonight? And is your wife home? Tonight I'm having whatever I want because my wife is at a work drinks for her old work that she used to work at. Oh, yeah, that sounds normal. And then tomorrow night, she has work drinks for her current work.

49:41Jase:She's a busy bastard. This week has been very busy. She hasn't been home at the regular time once all week. And I told her of the ongoing storyline on our show of Keezy's wife clearly having an affair after work and she thought it was funny and then nervously started texting. Yeah. So.

49:59Keyzie:What are you having for tea though, man? I might get some Eden noodles. Ooh.

50:03Jase:Yeah, okay. I love Eden noodles. Yeah, no, I hear you. I got last night, I got a Tom Yum. Oh, yeah. Really? Yeah, nice. It was, my wife ordered it medium heat. We'd had it before, a couple of weeks before, and my mate ordered it, and he ordered it hot. And it was just that hot where it was too hot to really be enjoyable. So we got the medium, and it was hotter than it was the previous time. It was completely inedible. I tipped mine down the sink. How many buzies out of five? Inedible, probably around four. Four buzies. My wife, to her credit, powered on. Hey, have fun on your dinner tonight with the in-laws, Jase.

50:40Can't wait to hear all about it tomorrow. You will. See you at four.
