In short

They also pitch outrageous publicity-stunt ideas for a 24/100-hour broadcast, talk TV viewing stress (Black Rabbit, Les Norton, Monster), and run competitions tied to Reburger, Hodaki, Super Liquor, and Diamonds on Richmond. 0:08Keyzie:Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show. Really big. Jason Hoyte, Mike Minogue and Keyzie. Oh g'day you mad bastards. Great to have your company on this blustery Tuesday afternoon. It is the 7th of October 2025 and you my friends, as always, listening to The Big Show brought to you by Reburger. Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats. That'll change the game.
0:42What the heck? I was dreaming about Reeburger again. Oh, my God. It was so crave-worthy. But it was gourmet and it was street food. Yum! It's a great way to start the day when you've been dreaming about Reeburger.
0:59Keyzie:Oh, it totally is. No, I'm not going to say that. Now, listen, Mogi. Huh? How's life, man? Have you got over your Monday-itis? Yeah, man. I just sort of woke up this morning, much like that fellow there that we were recording somehow that woke up having dreamed of Reeburg. I woke up brand new today. Great. So good. That's crazy. Great sleep last night. Just hundies. Feeling hundies all day, man. You've been feeling hundies, Jase, because you look a hundies, man. Thanks, man. I initially, as I was talking in the podcast outro, I didn't have the start to the day I wanted. No. But then I pivoted and had a very positive, very enlightening day.
1:39Keyzie:So I feel good about it. So I'm feeling pretty pumped. How are you going, Tony? There it is. I'm feeling a hundies as well, man. Do you like feeling a hundies, Jase? Because a lot of people, I don't know if you guys know this, but people have been saying 100 % for the last sort of 6 to 12 months or so. Then that changed to a hundi P. People then say, oh, hundi P. So I'm just going hundis, man. Full hundis. I'm going full hundis. So I'm just changing it up. So just be aware of that because I'll just sort of mess with the lingo a little bit. You know, just stay on your toes, Kies. I'll try to keep up.
2:14Yeah. I'm feeling a sparkling 100%. Oh, yes. So you're feeling a hundis? You're feeling hundis, man. You like feeling hundis, Jason? No, I'm not going to fall into one of your, you know, ball gags. You love a ball gag. I feel like a hundy's nuts. Yeah, exactly.
2:32Keyzie:Hey, now listen. So good. Mogi, what have we got coming up on the show, mate? Oh, Jase, it's a hell of a question, and I'm glad you asked. What's happening on the big show with old Mogi? Tell you what, there's been some bloody interesting stuff happening in the news, guys, and I don't know if you've crossed this, but there's been some driver's licences around the country that have been revoked as a result of some assessors taking cash for licences. What? Absolutely disgraceful. Also having a look at art history, Jase, which I know you're a big fan of in school. It's been removed from the school curriculum.
3:08The Big Show investigates why. And also we're about to head into a big poll. Stay tuned, New Zealand. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
3:19Keyzie:Yes, indeed, Queen there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The number time is 13 minutes past 4 o 'clock, which means it's time for The Big Pole.
3:36Keyzie:And the question today, is spring worse than winter? Right. Are your thoughts yay or nay? You can text us on 3483 or call us at 0800HAURAKE and you can also get yourself in the draw for a$50 Reburger voucher by doing one of those two things. Can I kick this off, fellas? Please. By saying that I think it is. Right. Now, for winter, when you head into winter, you know kind of what you're getting. You know what I mean? And you go, all right, it's time for head down, arse up. Right. What do you mean? Well, you know, you just... Stay inside watching TV. Stay inside. But then again in winter you have beautiful days, crisp, clear.
4:21Keyzie:They call them bluebirds. Yeah, bluebirds. You know what you're getting. Then spring arrives and you go, yeah, boys. Here we go. We're all feeling pumped up in the studio. We're going, Fiala, spring is here. It's upon us. And then it pisses down for a month. Yeah. And it's even more destructive because there's a feeling of hope. There is. There's a feeling of, yes, we got through winter. Now the good, let the good times begin. Thank you. You know, the beersies at the bar outside, you know, the long sunny days. It never happens. It just pisses down for a month. And you always, for some reason, forget it.
4:59Right. So are you looking for spring to just suddenly switch overnight to long, hot days with no rain? Pretty much, yes. Because it's a transition season.
5:09Keyzie:It is a transition, but I'll give it two or three days of transition, and then boom, I want to get into it. Yeah, right, okay. That's right. I guess what would be good would be if there was a bit of a mix. I understand there has to be rain for the flowers to grow, Jase. Sure. For the grass. You know, so the lambs have got something to eat when they come out of their mum's Kesey. Yeah. But what would be nice would be if sprinkled in there were some sunny days, some warmer weather. But it's not like that at all, is it? It's just garbage. And the amount of times that I've come into the studio and had to hear you, Jase, say, spring is sprung.
5:44Yeah. You do say that a lot. You say it a lot, and it never has, and it doesn't spring until it becomes summer, which is in December.
5:54Keyzie:That's just me trying to lift the fellow spirits, you know what I mean? Because it kind of does the opposite for me. You guys sort of always come and drag in your asses and your bottom lip quivering there, and I'm like, come on, fellows, spring has sprung, but this is what I'm talking about. You go, yeah, boys, it's going to be great, and then it's just shithouse. So when you're saying that, are you just saying it to the boys? Because I feel like it's quite sexist. And I've got to be honest, in my own mind, despite the evidence that I've had every single year, I always have a feeling of hope and optimism, and I go, yeah, thank God we made it.
6:24There is that period you get two or three days of warmth. Here it is, man, it's changed. And then, bang, freezing cold. It always seems to happen is when I think, oh, yeah, no, weather's changed now. It's hot, man. Yes. So I take one of the blankets off the bed. That night, cold snap, freezing cold, shit out. So as soon as it goes to spring, you take a blanket off? No, no, as soon as we have a few days of good weather, once spring has already begun and we're a bit of a way into it, then that's when I'll take it off the bat. And then you get one of the cold stamps. Yeah. You know? Yeah, 100%. Well, what do you think, New Zealand?
6:543483, is spring worse than winter? You can also call us on 0800 Hauraki. If you call us on 0800 Hauraki, you just might get yourself live on air a$50 Reburger voucher. Imagine that. Okay? That's madness, man.
7:07Keyzie:Hey, Hundies. Here's Oasis. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. Def Leppard there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 27 minutes past four o 'clock. We're talking and asking the question, is spring worse than winter? The Big Pole.
7:39Keyzie:What do you reckon, Quinn? G'day, Chase. G'day, mate. I reckon flippin' spring is utter, utter shithouse. Yeah. It's utter shithouse. I like that, Quinn. Are you a scientist, man? Narble. Narble. This is just your own experience. How does it play out for you? Here's the thing. Winter, you can go snowboarding. Spring, no. Summer, you can go to the beach. Everything's just better in the other seasons. Spring's just nothing going on. Yeah. It's just pissing down the whole time, let's be honest, Quinn. And blowing a gale as well. And blowing a gale. Yes, but howling a gale here in Taranaki. Quinn, just quickly, man, what do you do for a crust?
8:24Salesman of Monkey Toe. Ah, backbone. Well, you got yourself a$50 re-burger voucher, mate. Thanks for getting involved. Beautiful. Cheers, buddy. Good on you, mate. Good on you. Why wouldn't you ring if you could get a free voucher? This is the thing I don't understand. That's what we're trying to get through to people, man. Great text here on 3483. Spring is shithouse. Oh, that's very much agreeing with what Quinn was saying. Yeah, rainy BS. Yes. Spring can F off. I'd rather have double winter. Winter is coming. That is such a cool reference, Jase. Thanks, man. Spring is garbage. Although spring for me means whitebait, fellas.
9:03The coasters love spring. Bring it on. Oh, is that right? Well, that's interesting because also there's another one here that says, Hey guys, Chris from Sunny Dunedin here. Spring sucks worse in Auckland. I lived there for 10 years and the most depressing months of the year are spring. And I think that's our experience, isn't it? Because we are here in Auckland. And I was having a look and apparently they have rainy season up here. It varies depending on where you are in the country. But from here, it goes from mid-May to mid-October. And certainly that's how it feels now, I think, because you hear the word spring, you think, oh, it's going to get sunny.
9:36But it actually continues to pour down. But apparently from the middle of October, the rain starts to go away and we start seeing more dry weather. That is actually a fun fact. I feel like that should be public knowledge. It is good to know. That should be then. Let's rename that day, which I believe is October 17th. We're going to make that the first day of spring moving forward.
9:57Keyzie:I agree with you because I fall for it every time. You do. I fall for it every time and every time I get wound up and effing Jeff all over the place. You say you're falling for it like Mother Nature's trying to play a prank on you. She is. Well, she is playing a prank on me, Keesey. Well, that's the thing. She's got a real nasty sense of humour, Mother Nature. She does. Is it a real person? Oh, yeah. Flowers are meant to sort of burst. There's tits in the trees. You know what I mean? And the birds are tweeting and twerking. Tweet, to woo. Tweet, to woo. The birds are twerking. Are you not saying a bird twerk?
10:30No, I've seen plenty of birds twerking. Don't worry about that. I'll tell you, words hot. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. You guys ready to run? The Radio Hauraki Giga Little Fund is open. We will, we will fund you.
10:52Keyzie:We'll what? Fund you. This is Giga Little. Thanks to our mates at Super Liquor. They've given us 10 grand in cash to give away to get people gigging again. So whenever you hear that on call, you call us on 0800 Hodak and you win$250. How good, man. G'day, Mark, you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah, not too bad. How are you guys? Yeah, good, thanks, Mark. What do you do down in Christchurch there for a crust? I work for a graphic designer for a printing company. Oh, backbone. Hey, just on that front, you should design the new Big Show backbone T-shirt. Hey, I'll give it a go, yeah. Give it a nudge, man.
11:28Give it a nudge. How much? Five grand. Yeah, okay. Sweet. Just checking Mike, hang on, just checking Mike quickly. Do we have permission to sign him up and pay him five grand? Oh, no, I don't know. I assume we're paying him. Oh. You've already said that. Yeah, that's right.
11:44Keyzie:I mean, as a professional. It's a binding agreement. Yeah, yeah, that's right. You know what I mean? Good stuff, Mark. Now tell me, what gig do you want to go and see? I want to see Sir Dave Dobbin in Christchurch. Oh, yeah. Yeah, right. Whereabouts is he playing, man? He's playing in the Crick Town Hall in Christchurch. Oh, that would be a cool gig. He's a legend, isn't he? He's an absolute mad bastard. You've got to be careful because he is a knight, but, jeez, he's a sicko. Sir Dave Dobbin. Yes, Sir Dave Dobbin. I tell you what, I've had the pleasure of sort of being involved. Well, it sounds like I'm having a sexual relationship with him.
12:18Keyzie:You said you had the pleasure of being a dog now. I've had quite a few sort of meetings with old Dave Dobbin. He's a very funny man. That's what people forget. He's very, very funny. Yeah. And he is a mad bastard. So there you go, Mark. Hopefully you tell some of his jokes and that at the town hall, mate. You've got$250 thanks to Super Liquor. Oh, thanks, Super Liquor and the Haraki. Thank you very much. No worries, brother. You enjoy that, Mark. You'll be able to see some of those conversations, Mark. TVN's doing a new series called Conversations with Yoda and Hoggle. Oh, is that Jason Dave Dobbin?
12:54Wow. I'd watch the hell out of that.
12:56Keyzie:That'd be great, actually. I'd love to do that. Kimmy, you've got a new podcast studio, Mogey. Yeah, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We can absolutely all do that. Yoda and Hoggle. Yoda and Hoggle. Shoot the shiz. Yeah, a bit of chit-chat. Because Dave Dobbin wasn't the New Zealand artist you had that affair with, right? Who was it? Was it Jordan Luck? Is that right? No, no, I didn't have an affair with Jordan. No, no, no. Right, okay. Are you thinking of my affair? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, that was Jenny Shipley. Oh. No, it was a musician, wasn't it? No. Wasn't it Shea Foo? Oh, no, she plays Jenny Shipley.
13:27She plays the mouth organ.
13:31Very well. Is that right, Jase? The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
13:40Keyzie:Yes, indeed. Soundgarden there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time, 4.49. Let's talk TV, fellas. What's on the telly with Mike Minogue.
13:55Hey, yeah. Yes. Oh, yes. Yeah. Yeah, come on. Just quickly, fellas, I'm still watching Black Rabbit, but it's a very tense show. Jason Bateman, Jude Law on Netflix. It's a series about a deadbeat brother and another brother that's constantly dragging them out of trouble. But they're both in trouble, as it turns out. Yes. But I think I'll be watching it by myself for the duration. It's too tense for my wife to it. To enjoy. You can watch it. And even for myself, I'm not sure I'm enjoying it because it's just two characters going through hell. Idiots. Do you know what I mean? Just on that. That's on Netflix, are you saying?
14:38It's on Netflix, yeah. So last night, right, I said to my wife, hey, we need to find a new show to watch. I don't want to watch Grand Designs. I don't want to watch Country Calendar. I'm sick of the fellas making fun of me. Let's just find a new show and just give it a crack. She's like, okay, cool. And then I was been told a few times, you've got to watch, because we loved Upper Middle Bogan, the Aussie comedy. Oh, same. And someone was like, oh, you should watch Les Norton on Netflix. Aussie comedy action-y thing, right? Yeah, I watched about two minutes of that. Yeah, but Mike, quite often anything you don't like, I like, and vice versa.
15:10That's true. So I was like, let's watch this. We watched the little trailer thingy. It looked kind of funny. I was like, a bit of action based on some novels or something. Watched the first episode. Afterwards, said, did you enjoy that to my wife? She's like, I didn't enjoy it, but you were enjoying it, so I just left it. and I was like what didn't you enjoy about it and she's like because there's a bit where a guy's slamming another guy's head in a car door and she's like that was very annoying for me because I just didn't think that was very necessary and I was like okay so the action and she's like and also I felt bad for the main character because all this same thing you're saying all this bad stuff's happening to him and no matter what he does the bad stuff won't go away and I just feel really bad for him yeah I was like okay cool so the stakes are too high we have to watch something with pretty much zero stakes You guys have got weird partners, man.
15:56We do. Nah, but I also felt the same way. Right, okay. It's where it's just, you're not watching it and enjoying it. It's just things happen to characters that they've made you care about, and it just becomes a stressful experience. Yeah. And there were some events in it which I didn't like. And also, your wife is living that reality.
16:17Keyzie:Yeah, that's right. Following on from that, fellas, I started watching Monster, the Ed Gaines story. Let me tell you about it. He's a serial killer, right? The Ed Gaines story is the third season of the American biographical crime drama and anthology series Monster created by Ian Brennan for Netflix. The season focuses on convicted murderer, grave robber, and suspected serial killer, Ed Gaines. Now, you're talking about stress. Yes, you're talking about, you know, caring about the characters. I could only get through half an episode, and I was like, this is too gross. This is too heinous. And even I can't deal with it.
17:05Keyzie:Even you. And my wife was going, oh, God, bloody hell. Seriously, it just got sick. Right, okay. It got sick. Did it get sick? And I was like, I'm not doing this. I mean, I like a bit of serial killer action. Who doesn't? But this was, it goes beyond that. What kind of stuff was he robbing out of the grave? This is where it gets sick. And I just went, I'm not watching that. That's just going to ruin my mental health. How many buzzies out of five do you give it? Half a buzzie. Out of five, right, okay. And that was on Netflix. Yes. Don't do it to yourself, New Zealand. Don't do it. Les Norton, I'd give a solid sort of three buzzies out of five based on that one episode.
17:46Pretty entertaining, pretty funny. Bit of light-hearted action. My wife gives it zero bullsies out of five. Here's the Pixies. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.

18:00Keyzie:The Pixies here on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The Pixies, fellas. Pixies. I think this was three years ago we had this argument. Yeah, we did. They're just called Pixies. By the way, just a heads up for anyone that's interested in going along to the Hukatika Wild Foods Festival. It's happening again March of next year. If you want to get tickets, wildfoods.co.nz. But there has been chat that the big show might go down to Christchurch, jump on the trans-Alpine train through the Alps to the West Coast, do a show there, attend the festival. If you are interested in that, head to hodaki.co.nz.
18:36You could win yourself a free spot on that.
18:37Keyzie:We could create a scenario, the big show, on the train of like a murder mystery. Well, I was thinking along the lines of the Crunchy Bar ad from the 80s. Classic. Remember that one? Yeah, I sure do. It's a bloody good one, man. Or is it the Milky Bar Kid ad? No, there is that one as well. There's the Milky Bar and the Crunchy Bar. The Crunchy Bar one is, yeah, God, that was back when they used to spend a lot of money on advertising. Great, great ad, that one there, Keezy. I'll get it up for you, man, and I'll show you the ad too. You'll get it up for me? You bet I will.
19:08The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
19:15Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're surviving your Tuesday afternoon. You're listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburger. Beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options too. Reburger, redefining the norm. Reburger? Hardly no one.
19:34Keyzie:You know, like, hardly know that.
19:40Keyzie:Do you hate that one, Maggie? I love that one. Oh, right, yeah. Who's voicing those, by the way? Well, no one's voicing them. They're being recorded from live situations. Oh, like the actual box box. Around New Zealand. Yeah, so someone's gone to a comedy show and someone genuinely, with a comically deep voice, tried to pass that off as a joke. To be honest, I was out of cracked up with that. That's good. Because I love Reburger. Yeah, yeah. And so the one with it when he wakes up and he's dreamed about Reburger, someone was actually live by his bed, were they? Well, what we do is we actually go out and we sort of follow people home that have bought Reburger and then we break into their houses and we plant bugs.
20:18Bugs being a listening device. And we record it. That's right. Just see if there's any Reburger chat and oftentimes there is. Because you've been to Reburger heaps, right, Chase? Totally, man. Yeah, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone's followed you home and put a listening device under your bed.
20:33Keyzie:So they could possibly be me being recorded. I actually, I don't know that I'd feel very comfortable about being recorded with stuff under my bed. Too bad. You know what I mean? Yeah, man, it's just too bad. You know what Reburger are like? They're mad bastards. Yeah, I'm just not sure the stuff that goes on in my bedroom what Reburger would necessarily be into. Yeah, I think complete silence. They're down with that. Sobbing? That's sweet with that. There she is. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Green day on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time, 14 minutes past five o 'clock.
21:12Fellas, just been doing some thinking about our show and the evolution of our show and how we can take this already extremely successful product and sort of take it to that next level, you know? Yeah. And as part of this, I was looking around at what other stations are doing. That's smart, man. Yeah. That's really smart from you. Right. Yeah, if and that, because we do sort of run out of ideas, so let's just steal them. Yeah. Well, I wasn't really thinking so much that it would steal ideas because I hate it when people do that.
21:38Keyzie:Oh. I mean, it happens to us all the time, but that's because our ideas are amazing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, Tony. Yeah. It's like the other day I was listening to one of the other stations, I heard someone calling them Tony. Yeah. And I was like, God, steal our ideas much? Yeah, I reckon. I think it was Tony's street show, actually. But one of the ideas I've had is I was in the kitchen there and there was a poster up, Jono and Ben on the hits. Oh, yeah. They're doing a 24-hour handball thing. They're playing it for 24 hours and it's like a publicity thing. You'd be good at that. Well, thanks, man.
22:10I used to play a bit of handball back in the day. You still do.
22:16I was thinking we should do 24 hours of something as well. Publicity stunt, you know, gets people talking.
22:20Keyzie:Like 24 hours of us broadcasting, doing something. Yeah, 100%. So we're just going to figure out what it should be. And if anyone's got ideas, 3483, feel free to text them through. Is this not stealing their idea? No. Well, you know, I mean, who's me? You're stealing the idea. Yeah, yeah. Well, we're not going to do their exact idea. No, no. I think it's a pretty stock standard kind of radio thing, Moggy. A 24-hour broadcast. Yeah, okay. Now, I've just had a vision. call me crazy that we do a 24-hour broadcast but Kesey Yeah, over here. Over here. Hi. Has to do it on all fours looking over his shoulder the whole time.
23:01Keyzie:That's great. Well, look. And in a bathtub because you do that thing from the bathtub at Sky City. Or a bathtub. In the bathtub over the shoulder. Yes. On all fours. No, I love, guys, can I just start by saying I love the energy. I love the enthusiasm. but it's not so much, oh, look, Keezy's in the bath for 24 hours. It's more like we're doing something that'll get the media talking. Because you'll have raisiny, like, skin, fingers in that. Yeah. And that will be funny once we get to, like, the fifth or sixth day. What do you mean fifth or sixth day? I feel like we should round it up. Why is it 24 hours?
23:36It should be, like, 100. You'd round it. You'd just round it. 100 hours in the bathtub. Do you think you could do that, Keezy?
23:43Keyzie:100 hours in the bathtub on all fours looking over your shoulder? No, I mean, of course, Jase, I'd do that for the show. Because you know we've got the knee pads here now as well, the nudge pads. The nudge pads. Yeah, cool. So your knees would be fine. Well, I was just thinking it would be a bit more, I don't know, a bit more stuff happening, like us trying to do something. You know how we could spice it up? Well, how, man? Look, you're in the bathtub, 100 hours, on all fours looking over your shoulder, wearing your jacket that's got Tony on it.
24:14Right, is that good? Is that, Jase? It'll go off, I reckon.
24:22Well, 3483, if anyone's got any better ideas, otherwise I guess we'll just be doing that one. How do you have a better idea than that? I just can't think of one. Here's Iggy. Give us a call, 0800-HAURAKI, by the way, if you've got any ideas. The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
24:39Keyzie:Aerosmith there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 5.27, and Casey's been having a few thoughts about the big show doing something a little bit different and doing a 100-hour broadcast to sort of up the numbers, to get a bit of public attention, a.k.a. like Ben and what's his name, Jono. It's Bono and Jen. Oh, Bono and Jen, is it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Can I just say, it's not a 100-hour broadcast. It was just a 24-hour publicity stunt was what I was thinking. Oh, right, okay. And it's turned into 100 hours of also broadcasting. But if you're thinking, though, that we'd get more cut through and possibly a little bit of earned media, Casey, that's what it's all about.
25:17You want that free media coverage. 24 hours is great, but 100 hours? Wow. Wow. Totally, but it depends what we're doing. So far, the best we've got, you guys come up with just me in a bathtub. Yes. On all fours, looking back over my shoulder for 100 straight hours. Wearing your denim jacket with Tony on it. Wearing your Tony jacket. Right. Someone's also added in here, while Hoity J watches him eating chips and doing a midnight steamer.
25:42Keyzie:Who's doing the midnight steamer, me or you? Keezy in the bath. I don't know that I want to watch you doing a midnight steamer, Keezy. I suppose at some stage you would do a steamer. You put me in a bathtub for 100 hours. What else more meaning, and also I think people would get a real kick out of seeing Officer Mogi doing it, Hoity J, these established guys doing some sort of wacky publicity stunt. Yeah, I don't know. I'm not feeling that because that's sort of dragging up. That's that old stuff. This is all about the big show. Yes. So it's all about the cool characters we create here. Right, okay.
26:13So Tony, tick. Yeah, that's such a cool character. I mean, there's an element of Horty Jizz and Moggy there. I get you there as well, Keezy. But to me, it sort of seems like Horty J and myself will be there doing the radio show and sort of keeping people up to date with what you're doing. Yeah. Which is being on all fours looking over your shoulder.
26:37Keyzie:And can I just say, so with that set up, with you looking over your shoulder on all fours with your Tony jacket on, we'll be obviously directly behind you broadcasting because you'll be looking back at us. Well, Hoody J will be at the business end. I'll be up around your head looking at your face. Yeah, yeah. And you've got to be holding the mic too. I'm not broadcasting. I'm in a bathtub for 100 hours. Well, you've got to broadcast. What do you mean? You're broadcasting. while you're... Yeah, yeah. You think... What? You're telling me you don't think Bono and Gene are broadcasting while they're doing their 24 hours of handball?
27:09Yeah, maybe. Maybe. But I'm only doing 24. I'm doing 100 in a tub. You're a backbone. Oh, yeah.
27:15Keyzie:We could maybe get you one of those sort of Madonna microphones. Yes. You know, so you don't have to hold the microphone. Yeah, a headset. A headset, yeah. So, because I imagine... Or is it called in the business a Madonna microphone? That's such a current reference, Jase. Thank you. because, you know, I'm imagining at some stage, and this is what will make it great radio, is that you'll cramp up a little bit because you're looking over your shoulder for 100 hours. So looking over your shoulder, which adds another dimension. Now, another idea we could have, Tony, would be that we could have one of those things where listeners come along and they put their hand on a car and the last one to have their hand on the car wins the car.
27:56Right. So like your truck. We'll use your truck. you can win Tony's truck. Can you imagine the coverage we'll get?
28:03Keyzie:That is bloody... The only downside of that, Mogi, the only downside of that is who really wants to win Tony's truck? Yeah, that's the only downside of that. Yeah, cool. Well, look, let's keep spitballing. I mean, look, for example, there's great text coming in on 3483. Cooking the man some eggs for 24 hours, Jase. Which man? 24 Hours at Reburger. Oh, yeah. See, now that will get people talking. Yeah, that's true. 24-hour broadcast, Keezy saying nothing at all. You know, these are all great ideas. Still, I haven't heard one that surpasses our idea, though. Yeah, that's right. But we're radio guys, you know.
28:49Yeah, that's true. That's what we do. Let's just leave this to Bono and Jen. We'll think of some other wacky stuff. Yeah, and actually, what have we got coming up later in the show, Keezy? It feels like we've got what's on the dinner. with Keezy this evening? Is that happening? Yeah, well, we will be doing that later on. Great, great. Looking forward to that. Well, text us, by the way, what's on the dinner on 3483. It's way too early for that, but okay. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
29:15Keyzie:Red. Hot. Chilli peppers there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time is 20 minutes to five. Hey, fellas. What's up? Do you like a bit of basketball action? You know I do, man. Bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce. Bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, dunk. Dunk, yeah, nice. No, poof. Poof. Oh, that's a three-pointer. Yeah, that's a three-pointer. Poof. Hey, the BNZ Breakers are taking on the Illawarra Hawks tomorrow night, and Hodaki and the BNZ Breakers are officially – Same here, man. Hate the Hawks. Same. Boo. But we're officially one big happy family, and as part of that, they've given us a backbone bench, which is a sideline for pretty much every single home game this entire season.
29:56and if you text bench to 3483, and you can get yourself to Auckland to the game, it's up here in Auckland, but if you text bench to 3483, you win the chance for you and three mates to be sitting courtside at the very next home game. How good.
30:08Keyzie:And I tell you what, I've never been to a breakers match, but I'm intending to do it this season. Are you? Apparently it's a great night out. Oh, it is. Everyone says it's a great night out and I love a bit of poof action. You know what I mean? Doo-doo, poof, three-pointer. Wank, wank. Sorry, what was that last one? That was like the buzzer because he just got it in in time. Do it again? Wank, wank. Yeah, yeah. I think you need to go to a basketball game, Jase, because none of those sound effects are correct. G'day, Zach. Zach, you mad bastard. How's life? Oh, it's great, thanks. Good on you, mate.
30:41Keyzie:Hey, you obviously like a bit of basketball there, Zach. Yeah, I'm just about to go and play my social league game. Hey. Oh, what's the name of your team, man? We're the Shooting Blanks. Oh, I'm Shooting Blanks, man. Can I join? I could be your mascot How good I could be doing Jason's wank wank On the side Shooting blank Yeah that's Such a good idea Hey That just reminds me Didn't you used to play Social basketball Kesey Yeah I did You used to ride the pine I did man I was on Zach's team Oh you were on Zach's team Yeah man He benched me Remember when that guy Started bullying me mid game So I That's right Yeah That's funny But anyway Zach All that stuff aside man Are you keen to go along to this week's Breakers game?
31:25Yeah, yeah, I'm keen as. All right, mate. Well, the good news is you've got yourself four tickets to sit sideline, man. Sick. Thank you. No worries, mate. Good on you, man. Enjoy the game. Have a great time, man. And good luck to the shooting blanks on tonight's big social game. Yeah, man. Well, I was going to say, how humiliating being in the shooting blanks
31:43Keyzie:and riding the pine. You can't even get in the starting line-up of shooting blanks. Jase. I mean, that is shockingly humiliating. Jase, I wasn't actually in shooting blanks, all right? Well, not now. Yeah, not anymore anyway. Yeah, you got ejected. Yeah, I got ejected. Can you start that again? Kees, I want you to join up again because I enjoyed you playing social basketball. You didn't come and watch me once. Yeah, but I just loved your stories about it. That was one story about me getting bullied. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki. Nirvana there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Tuesday afternoon.
32:27Guys, I just want to have a serious chat for a moment if I can. I came out to the car today there. That's my car. Yes. Yeah, my Tita truck. Right. And came out there to go to the gym and lo and behold, and I don't know, if you've got kids in the car and you're driving on the motorway at the moment, just turn around, drive with your knees and just turn around and put your fingers in their ears. Somebody had done a steamer on my car. Wow, that's vandalism. You are joking. It's not good. That's bizarre. So they obviously knew it was yours. Well, I don't know. Maybe they just needed to go in my car with Zaneroson, so they went on the roof, never mind, you know.
33:07Keyzie:Was it in your driveway? No, it was on the roof of the car. No, but I mean, was your car in the driveway? Oh, no, we don't have a driveway. Oh, right. No driveway. So it was out on the street. So somebody just walked along and thought, oh, yeah. Climbed up on your car. Climbed up on the car and then... Pitched up on top. And then done it. Yeah. Now, we're new to the neighbourhood. We had a couple of mates who were up from Wellington on Friday, so that went to about three in the morning. We've had a couple of relatively late ones, but I think we keep it pretty quiet. Yeah. But maybe I've offended somebody locally.
33:42Yes. I'm not too sure. I'm not too sure. You'd think that if you had offended someone. Well, it's disgusting. It is disgusting. I mean, it's foul. It is disgusting.
33:48Keyzie:That would ruin my day if someone, you know. What, done poos on your roof? Done poos on the roof of my car. Didn't make mine. No, yeah, you're right. You'd think, like, if someone in the neighbourhood was upset at you or whatever, they'd, you know, maybe put a note in the letterbox or something. Yeah, that's right. Come and knock on the door and have a chat to me about it. Mano a mano. Something along the lines of, if you're going to keep me awake all night, next time I'm going to shit on the roof of your car. There should be some kind of a warning system in place, definitely. Well, it's gone zero to 100, as the kids say these days.
34:17Keyzie:Yeah, yeah. I mean, to be fair, that could have happened to my car. I wouldn't know because I can't see on the roof. No, that's true. Well, the other thing is, I don't know. It's good to know, actually. It's kind of pointless because if they're trying to get a message across, I don't know what the message is about. You know, what exactly is the thing that I've done wrong? Yeah, what's the point you're trying to make? To warrant doing that, what behaviour would you like me to stop? Well, there could be no motive at all, just a random person deciding it might be funny to do poos on a teeter. It might have been that they just needed to go and they didn't have a plastic bag because, of course, if you go on the lawn or anything like that, you have to pick it up.
34:52Yeah, you're on the grass. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So if you go in someone's car, that rule doesn't apply, Casey.
34:57Keyzie:What are they? I mean, I'm loathe to ask this question. Yeah. But what are we looking? I mean, what's she looking like on the roof of the car? Is it a big one? It's like blue, blue. It's like a light blue. It's the same colour on the roof as a whole car. Like a light blue. No, I mean the poos. Oh, you thought you were asking what colour the paint is. Sort of a mixture, really, of sort of a white, grey, and brown and black. Right, and how big is it? What's normal? I don't know, like a... Well, you know, three tubes? Like a sausage? Oh, yeah, no, nothing like that. It was more of a... It was like a drive-by.
35:39It was more of a... Oh, look, I don't want to... Again, if you're driving, you've got the kids in the car, drive with your knees, put your fingers in their ears. It was like a splattering effect. Oh, right, okay. So I went across the roof and sort of down the windscreen as well. Yeah, right. You don't think, like something had maybe flown past and dropped it off. Well, people can't fly, I know that much. Yeah, right. That much I know. And was it just the one? It's hard to tell. They looked similar, but it looked like it was one event. Right. But it's hard to know for sure. Yeah, right. Okay. Well, yeah, I mean, I don't know what it is.
36:19I don't know what it could be. That is crazy. That's crazy. If anyone knows anything, 3483. Because I looked up because we were parked under a tree. Yeah. And I thought the guy, maybe he was still up in the tree or her. Maybe the woman had like a nest up in the tree.
36:36The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
36:42Keyzie:Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Tuesday night's going along very nicely indeed. You're listening to The Big Show, brought to you by Reburger. Quave-worthy street food, freshly made with Reburger. Reburger here gets your Reburger, folks. You've got beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum. Nom, nom, nom, nom, nom, nom, nom, nom. Reburger, get your Reburger. Yum.
37:08Go check out Reburger, man. They've got some delicious new Indian-inspired flavours. Yes. Oh. Butter chicken burger, masala tender box, butter chicken loaded fries. We've had some of all of the above. I personally had the Desi Dynamite burger for spice lovers. Yum.
37:23Keyzie:Which surprised me because you're a wuss on that front. Okay, this is a new yarn. I will smoke you in a spicy food eating cock. Oh, you're right. We've got our 24 hours of spice competition featuring Bono and Jen. That is such a confusing sentence for anyone who's just tuned in. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But a 24-hour eating spice comp. Jase, you on? Yeah, man. I'm in. Lock me in. Okay. Hey, now, listen, speaking of - Sort that out with your pug. Is Mike doing it? No, I'm not. Oh. You guys have got the big challenge going on. I'm not big on spice. Why? So I'm not keen. But you have to do it on all fours looking over your shoulder.
37:58Yeah, man. And in a bathtub. And in the bathtub.
38:01Keyzie:Cool, man. Hey, we've got what's on the dinner coming up next. What's on the dinner plate for you fellas? Well, Pugs and I have got, after the show tonight, we're going to a special PlayStation event with a screening of a 1970s Samurai Japanese movie. Right. And I'm hoping there'll be nibbles there. Yeah, what are you having, Mike? Well, last night the wife made a sort of a Chinese rice, a chickeny ricey thingy. Yes. There's a lot of it. Like a stir fry? Yeah, like a stir fry, like that. Yeah, there's a lot of it. I thought, well, who's going to eat all that? Well, I ate all of it today, so it's gone.
38:35I think we're meant to be eating that for dinner tonight, but if she would have gone home, she'll be fuming. Yeah. Because it's all gone, brother. I ate it.
38:40Keyzie:Well, we're running with a very similar theme tonight. I had the idea of a bento box. Oh, that was your idea, was it? It was my idea, yes. Did you invent bento boxes? And so I went and got all the ingredients, so we're going to have bento boxes. Crumb, the chicken, fries. Katsu. Katsu. Katsu chicken. Mmm. That sounds delicious, Jason. So you've left that at home for your wife to make that, but you've got all the ingredients out. Well, I don't want to make it right now because then it would be a bit stale by the time I got home. Yeah, because we're still doing the show, Mike. Oh, yeah. I figured that.
39:09Speaking of the show, by the way, I want to know what you're having for tea. Give us a text on 3483. Coming up next, what's on the dinner in New Zealand? If you text it through, 3483, you can get yourself a$50 Reburger voucher. You forgot with me, Keezy. Yes, thank you, biz. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from four on Radio Hauraki.
39:27Keyzie:David Bowie there on the radio. Hodaki Big Show this Tuesday evening, but right now it's time for... Oh, yeah, hey, guys. Text here from Steve. What's on the dinner? With me, Keezy. If you don't know what what's on the dinner means, it's what's for tea in New Zealand is another way you might say it, fellas. No. Well, yeah, I mean... You're just going to confuse it. Yeah, I'm going to confuse it, yeah. Keep it simple, Keezy. Like, it was called that, but that was years ago. Was it? 3483, you're texting what you're having for dinner. We read it out on the radio, and then you might get a$50 Reburger voucher.
40:05Great one here, fellas. G'day, guys. Harry here. Houdini? Yes. Wow. Harry Houdini. Tonight I'm having a hickory bacon pizza, venison sausages, and Bay of Island oysters. Bay of Island oysters. They're good eating. Hickory bacon pizza, venison sausages, Bay of Island oysters. That sounds amazing. It feels like a bit of overkill to me. It's a few too many meats. Yeah, I mean... Yeah, is that surf and turf? What on pizza? I think... I think that the hickory bacon pizza is one thing, venison sausages is one thing, and the oysters are one thing. That's what I'm saying. It's a lot of different things.
40:42Keyzie:Yeah, why would you chuck a venison sausage in between your pizza and your oysters? That's what I don't get. Physically, he's not going to sandwich it all together and eat it. Well, no, he's going to eat the pizza, then hoe into a sausage and then an oyster. It is weird. They look delicious. Yeah, but it might be like a shared... There might be six of them. Yeah, but where's the salad? Oh, yeah. Where's the steamed broccoli? Where's the mashed potatoes to go with the sausages? Sorry, guys. My bad. Just got a text. Hey, guys. Harry Houdini here. Forgot to mention, also got steamed broccoli, salad, and mashed potatoes.
41:13Yuck. Well, hang on. With oysters? Are you kidding me, man? That is disgusting. Oh, geez, just text again. G'day, guys. Harry Houdini here again. Just decided to flag the oysters in the end. What a loser. That was the best bit. I reckon.
41:29Keyzie:Do you like an oyster mogee? I love an oyster. Are you kidding me? Yeah, same. Especially a mountain oyster. Didn't they used to call you old oyster mogee? No. Oh.
41:43Mountain oyster is actually the knackers of a goat. Yes. Delish.
41:50This segment rules, man. Hey, g'day, guys. Fred here. Flintstone. Fred Flintstone is texted on like a dinosaur's foot or something.
42:03Keyzie:That's so unlikely, isn't it? On a rock. He's texted. Probably has more mobile phone capabilities than your phone, Jase. What's for tea? Salmon. For my wife. birthday. Salmon for my wife's birthday. Well, in what context? I mean, how's he doing it? Is he cooking it? Is it sheets of salmon? Is it cold? Back then, I guess fire. Was fire invented back then for Fred Flintstone? Yeah, they had fire. What if they had salmon, though? Also, does Wilma like salmon? That's true. I know that she's got a pearl necklace. I think Betty does. Oh, Betty loves it. Yeah, so does Barney. What about Bam Bam? Well, I don't know.
42:50Nah, she's just a baby. What about Dino? Dino? Dino? Dino, yeah. Yeah, yeah. No, he doesn't. And Pibbles. Bam Bam's a boy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's really strong. Yeah. Bam Bam. What is this segment again? Oh, do you want another text about dinner? Yes, please. Could you? G'day, feelers. Ollie here. Oh, really? Nice. No, just Ollie. Ollie with a Y. Broccoli sandwich with a dash of lemon. Better than it sounds. No, it's not. That's ruined my night. A broccoli sandwich with a dash of lemon. Has it got any butter on it? Any cracked pepper? There's no cracked pepper there. To be honest, fellas, that's the sort of thing my wife would eat.
43:39More to the point, it's the kind of thing she'd make. The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
43:48Keyzie:Collective soul there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this Tuesday evening. Now, listen, our mates at Diamonds on Richmond are back on board with the Big Show. And with that in mind, they've very generously given us an$8 ,000 engagement ring to give away to a potential backbone out there. Yeah, that's right. Head to hodaki.co.nz and register yourself. Yeah. We will send you out a Hodaki nudge pad, which is a special knee pad for basically saying, hey, you should probably pop the question soon. And you automatically go on the draw to win an$8 ,000 diamond engagement ring as well. If you guys were to get married again, maybe let's say you won this comp even though you can't.
44:25Well, we can't, man. Yeah, because when you renew your vows, do you essentially have like a whole new wedding ceremony? Is that how it works? Well, I'm going to be doing that. I've got that coming up, you know, fingers crossed. Yeah. All right. If she doesn't leave me again, which seems to happen every year. But I've got my 50th birthday. Right. Next year. Yeah. The following year. Jeez, you old bastard. And the following year, early the following year, my wife turns 40. Right. And then in, ooh, I need to get this right, May is our 10-year wedding anniversary. Wow. So then we're going to have our 100th, 50, 40, 10.
45:01We're going to have our 100th, and it's going to go for probably a week. Wow. How good. It's going to be good, fellas. Just the three of us. Oh, okay. We just sort of talk about old times and that. Well, just the three of us partners or? No, no, just the three of us. I thought I'd sell her my wife's ring over a carrot. Yes. Over a carrot, so good resale value, and then that'll just pay for us a trip to Fiji.
45:24Keyzie:Weirdly enough, in my household, there's been quite a bit of chat about redoing, you know, the old wedding and vows and all that sort of stuff. Coming from different directions, and I don't know where it's come from. Well, surely there's only one other direction for the year that it could come from. No, it's coming from the roof. No, from the family. from, you know what I mean, from other people going, you guys should do this. They should keep their bloody noses out. Yeah, well, that's what I say. To be fair, I think what you need to, as we discussed already, you need to redo your proposal. Yeah.
45:52Keyzie:Well, I do. And here's the other thing, fellas. I never bought my wife an engagement ring. Is that bad? Oh, that's funny because you said you did. No, I bought her a wedding ring. Oh, right. But not an engagement ring. We were too broke for that sort of carry on. Well, this is kind of the beauty of it, Jase, is what you could do is, and this is what we've got as part of this Diamonds on Richmond set up here with the$8 ,000 engagement ring. You can also get your hands on a nudge pad. And that's this little knee pad that you put on, Joe, so you can get down on one knee and propose. Did you get down on one knee, man?
46:23To propose, I mean. No. Tell me you weren't just in bed or something, were you? Yeah, there's like... None of your business, Keezy. Horaki.co.nz. Head along there, register yourself, and you can win that$8 ,000 Diamonds on Richmond engagement ring.
46:40Keyzie:Ring, ring. Yeah, a bit of pearl, eh? Let's go! The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Kesey. Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
46:58Keyzie:Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's the big show done and dusted this Tuesday evening. That was a good show, man. It was the best show that I've ever done. Yeah, actually, pass all that up with your pug son. Send it straight to the radio awards. Thanks, mate. Is it possible that we could just be nominated as individuals for best show? I don't know. Good question. Because it sometimes feels like some of us are firing and others aren't. It's hard. It's almost impossible to all be firing on the same show. Yeah, that's true. But today I kind of felt we were. Yeah, 100%. We were all firing.
47:31On all cylinders? On all cylinders. But it'd be a bit weird if we nominated just ourselves. I feel like that would be a bit weird for a team show. Yeah. Because we're a team. Well, maybe we should think outside the box. That's the thing, Keezy. You're trying to get new audience in. So you've got the ideas that you're selling off Bono and Jen about doing 24 hours of this or that. Yeah. You know, just another idea, man. What, to just nominate yourself? Imagine if old Keezy wins. Oh, you think I have a shot? You know? No, but that's what I'm saying. Because, you know, you'll have to imagine it. Yeah, man, that would be cool, actually.
48:05Keyzie:Hey, now listen. What? What's the podcast outro clip today, Keezy? Keezy. Huh? This clip is about old Keezy getting on the darts. What I'm more concerned about is Keezy getting on the darts, because you know what he's like. But the thing is, Keezy can have a dart, just look like the sickest mother f***er on earth, and then give it up the next day. Because it tastes gross. It's just fun to do, and it gives me nothing. Yeah, but you better have your denim jacket on when you're smoking darts. You're like Matthew Conaghy. Yeah, so that's about me maybe having a dart while I'm in Fiji. Yeah. Yeah, because Moggy's going to sabotage old hoity Jay.
48:44Keyzie:Don't do it, Josh. Jay, you can't make the rest of the world give up smoking, mate. All right? You're going to have to come to terms with it at some point, mate. Might as well be while you're on a huge holiday for 10 days over in Fiji. I feel like I just witnessed him decide that he's going to start smoking again. 100%. No, man, it's not happening. Don't do it, Jase. Don't do it. It's not happening. Oh, Jase. No, no, no. I'll just have to make sure I'm loaded up on the old vape. I'll bet you a hundred bucks he does. A hundred bucks? If I've got anything to do with it. You are not on. I would not try.
49:16Keyzie:No, I'm not going to make that bet either. Do you remember at the very start of the big show where you guys gave up the darts like five years ago or something? Mate, I've got a post on my Instagram of me smoking my last cigarette. That was in 2018. It's bad. It's bad. Hey, now listen, make sure you check out the Instagram account, by the way. There's lots going on there. Also check out all the podcasts. We'll be back same time, same place tomorrow. Until then, see you later.
